This is in regard to Honda recall 23V-751 on my 2016 Acura TLX. Honda keeps sending letters to me in the mail yet when I have contacted the dealership in the past, they report parts are not available to address the recall. This situation has been going on for more than a year. The latest letter received from Honda was 10/2/2025. I called Honda's recall hotline. The person I spoke to wanted to pass the responsibility to the dealership. After insisting, the person I spoke to did create a Honda case number (15887835). I also contacted the NHTSA hotline and received case number (11690977). This complaint is to document the issue in case there are any problems with my car due to the lack of Honda's response to the recall.

I was driving on the interstate and went to pass someone and gassed it. When I did that, my car wouldnt go. It was still on but when pressing the gas it wouldnt go. I am so lucky no one read ended me and I was able go coast off the side of the road.

In June 2023 My 2016 Acura TLX was diagnosed as an issue with the lower rod bearing by my mechanic and confirmed by Fisher Acura to have a lower engine bearing problem. January 2024 the recall was issued for my TLX rod bearing, after I had replaced the engine. I have filed a claim with Honda for the reimbursement cost of replacing my engine but Honda is denying my claim for the reason I did not have the bottom of the engine disassembled by Honda service dept. to identify the problem. This would have been at my own expense, because the recall had not been issued yet. I followed Fisher Acura's recommendation and worked with my mechanic instead. I followed my mechanic's recommendation and decided to spend money to replace the engine rather than spend money rebuilding the engine which would have been much more expensive. I followed all the right steps before Honda issued a protocol to follow. I had to fix my car, before they even knew what the fix was. I am writing to you today asking for your help, please. Honda corp. is not helping me at all and I believe they owe me money for the cost of the engine I had to replace. Honda has not helped and in fact been very unhelpful and difficult to work with. I paid $4500 for a used engine and install, $400 for Fisher Acura to diagnose and a couple of tow charges totaling $150. $5050 is what I am hoping to recuperate due to this recall. Logan from Honda Corp. is my case manager (Case #[XXX]). After multiple discussions with him presenting my case, he seems to be looking for any reason possible to deny my claim and has not reimbursed me for the repairs I incurred due to this recall they are not taking responsibility for. The car would go in ACC mode while parked and running and warning lights would appear on the dash (pictured below). While parked and running, the car also accelerates up & down. I can visibly see the acceleration meter moving before the car goes into ACC. Also, while in the drive the car would go in neutral mode. I’ve called several dealerships and I have been put on a “waiting list” and have not heard back. At this point I’m scared for the safety of my children and 1. I have a 4 year old & currently 8 months pregnant. I’m not sure how to rectify this situation. It happens randomly but has been occurring more frequently.

The following complaint is in relation to NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-751 and the Acura Corporation's unwillingness to recompense the registered owner for catastrophic damages that occurred to the engine. The vehicle in question is a 2016 Acura TLX, and the recall applied to the Acura MDX, Honda Pilot, Honda Odyssey and Honda Ridgeline. The manufacturing defect, which potentially involved 248,999 vehicles, was the connecting rod bearing of the crankshaft prematurely wearing and seizing. This is precisely what occurred to this TLX. The chronological events of this incident are quite revealing. On Jan 2023, midwinter, while driving on [XXX] near the Canadian border, the engine completely lost power, leaving the registered owner, XXX stranded on the interstate alone for 30 minutes. There were no warning lights, only a knocking sound originating from the engine. The vehicle was eventually towed to a nearby auto shop. The vehicle was not towed to an Acura or Honda dealership due to the extended distance, as XXX was employed at the US Port of Entry on the US/Canadian border, a remote location. The mechanics at the auto shop determined the entire engine needed to be replaced and repairs were completed on [XXX] and XXX paid $6,360.30 out of pocket. An effort to be compensated by Acura was denied. As of Nov 2023, Honda has 1450 claims. According 23V-751, Honda received its 1st complaint regarding this matter on Feb 2020 and investigated through Sept of 2023. Only until [XXX] did Honda decide to conduct a safety recall, well after the catastrophic failure of the aforementioned TLX which occurred on Jan 2023. And it was only until Jan 2024 that notification (24-002)of this defect was initiated. Again, Acura refuses to accept any responsibility or accountability for this incident, nor did it care to investigate the matter in its entirety, simply stating if the vehicle was not inspected by an Acura dealership (typical response), they are absolved of any wrongdoing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the contact was unsure if the vehicle was inspected. The contact stated that the dealer had not provided a status update regarding the vehicle or the repair. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle had been at the dealer for several days. The contact stated that it was expensive paying out of pocket for a loaner vehicle while waiting for the vehicle to be repaired due to the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. Since the release of the recall, the contact made several attempts to have the recall repair performed and each time the contact was informed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and the contact was informed that the manufacturer was allocating parts to dealers and the contact was provided a case number. The contact stated that there appeared to be a parts distribution disconnect as the NHTSA website indicated that parts for the recall repair were available. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2016 Acura TLX. The contact stated while starting at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the long block and the torque converter were replaced. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact made the manufacturer aware of the failure and filed a claim for reimbursement; however, the claim was denied because the recall was related to engine Damage from Connecting Rod Bearing Wear. The approximate failure mileage was 136,141.

Internal transmission error at 60,000 miles. All warning lights illuminated, no sign of transmission failure, but having to replace the entire transmission due to factory defect out of my own pocket.

I shifted to sports mode plus while at a stop light on the Bay Bridge. After light turned green, I accelerated and my car stalled and wouldn't go past 20mph on the Bay Bridge which is dangerous, everyone was going about 60-75 mph. All of my hazard lights were on- my brake light, VSA light, Check Engine Etc. I went to the mechanic and he could not find anything wrong with my battery, transmission or accelerator. It seems like there is a glitch electronically but nothing has been done about. Several folks with 2016 TLX have reported this same issue. Its very dangerous and worrisome. Prior to this issue I had no messages/lights on that warned me of my vehicle needing service.

The defect with stalling after auto start continues even after Acura applied a software update. They refuse to complete second part of recall including starter replacement and valve adjustment as indicated on their attached letter. Idle Stop does not restart car & is difficult to restart since car remains in Drive after restart fails. A recall notice was issued, but the software update is not available at any dealers as of June 18, 2022. Product Update required for PGM-FI Software.

I was driving 70mph on I-75 south and I moved into the left lane to pass a vehicle and when pressed down on the gas my car decelerated and multiple (all) warning lights on the dashboard lit up. The car did not recover from the deceleration and caused the car behind me to slam on their brakes, I had to quickly navigate three lanes of traffic during rush hour to get off of the highway. I called Acura service from the off ramp and they said if I restart my car a few times it should reset and I can proceed home. When I brought my car to Acura they said it was a software update and that they don't perform the software update unless a customer is experiencing issues. I am deeply concerned that this issue has not been marked as a recall or automatic software update during regular service. I was able to navigate off of the highway, but I don't think this would be the case for all drivers in this situation.

THE TELEMATICS UNIT IN MY 2016 ACURA TLX REMAINS IN THE ON POSITION AND CONTINUES TO ATTEMPT TO CONNECT TO A BLUETOOTH DEVICE WHILE VEHICLE IS OFF. THIS CONTRIBUTES TO BATTERY FAILURE. MANY OWNERS HAVE DISCONNECTED THE DEVICE AS HAVE I , IN ORDER TO KEEP THE BATTERY FROM CONSTANTLY DYING. CAR DIES AFTER ONE FULL DAY OF NOT BEING STARTED REQUIRING THE BATTERY TO NEED TO BE RECHARGED. ACURA STATED THEY CAN REPLACE TELEMATICS FOR A CHARGE OF $1000 BUT NOT SURE IF THIS WILL CORRECT THE ISSUE.

I PURCHASED THE CAR SEPTEMBER 2016 FIRST BATTERY REPLACEMENT IN NOVEMBER 2018; SECOND BATTERY REPLACEMENT MARCH 2020. BOTH BATTERIES CAME WITH A 5 YEAR WARRANTY BOTH NEEDED REPLACEMENT WITHIN 2 YEARS. UNKNOWN WHY THE BATTERIES KEEP FAILING.

THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 12 OR SO TIMES. I DIDN'T KEEP TRACK UNTIL IT WAS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE. I HAVE RECORDED IT ON VIDEO ABOUT HALF DOZEN TIMES AND PROVIDED THIS TO ACURA. WHILE DRIVING WITH THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SET TO A SPEED I TOUCH THE BRAKE TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. I THEN PRESS THE RESUME BUTTON TO RETURN TO CRUISE CONTROL. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT COME BACK ON, BUT THE INDICATOR ON THE DASHBOARD FLASHES (AS IF IT WERE COMING BACK ON) AND STAYS OFF. I'M UNABLE TO EVEN SET A NEW SPEED. FLIPPING THE TOGGLE TO RESUME OR SET DOES THE SAME THING, NOTHING. ON EVERY OCCASION THE ONLY WAY TO RESTORE THE CRUISE CONTROL TO WORK WAS TO STOP THE CAR, SHUT IT OFF, THEN RESTART THE CAR (REBOOT). ON ONE OCCASION, I HAD TO DO THE REBOOT PROCESS THREE TIMES TO RESTORE THE ABILITY TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES BUT THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. IN ADDITION TO SEVERAL VIDEOS I TOOK ON TWO OCCASIONS I HAD PASSENGERS IN THE CAR WHO WITNESSED THIS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS, STATE ROADS, AND TOWN ROADS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 ACURA TLX. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND LUNGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. CAR STALLS WHEN I AM AT A RED LIGHT OR A STOP. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN AWHILE, NOT WHEN IT FIRST STARTS. AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT, THE CAR FAILS TO START WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR WILL STALL, THEN WHEN I TRY TO START IT BY PUSHING THE START BUTTON, IT TAKES MORE THAN 1 TRY FOR IT TO START. IT HAPPENED 4 TIMES WITHIN 2 HOURS A WEEK AGO; EACH TIME AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR, AND NEVER WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND TURNING AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THESE INDICATORS CAME ON WHICH WERE THE VSA, POWER STEERING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM CAME ONE. ONCE THESE INDICATORS CAME ON THE CAR STARTED STALLING AND WOULDN'T GO PAST 2 RPM AND HAD LACK OF POWER. SO WE HAD TO AUTOMATICALLY STOP AND PULL OVER TO THE SIDE. COUPLE OF CARS WERE BEHIND US AS WELL AND WE COULD HAVE CRASHED. WE TOOK ABOUT A MONTH OR SO BEFORE WE TOOK IT IN TO FRESNO ACURA AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP THAT'S BROKEN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FRESNO ACURA (7250 N PALM AVE, FRESNO, CA 93711, (559) 431-3400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

DRIVING TO WORK 3/19/20 AT 7:15AM. THE SUNROOF SHATTERED. THE SHADE WAS OPEN AND GLASS SHARDS COVERED MY WIFE AND THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES WITHIN A 1/4 MILE. THERE WERE NO BRIDGES SHE DROVE UNDER WITHIN A MILE. I CALLED AND SPOKE TO THE LOCAL ACURA DEALERSHIP ASKING IF THERE WAS A CAMPAIGN OR RECALL OR IF THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT A COLLISION CENTER TO GET FIXED AS THERE WAS NO WARRANTY. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK AS OF YET.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT THERE IS A CLARE REFLECTION FROM THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER'S DASHBOARD VENTS THAT REFLECTS STRONGLY ON THE INTERIOR SIDE WINDOW RIGHT WHERE THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE VIEW MIRRORS ARE LOCATED. THE GLARE CAN BE VERY STRONG ON SUNNY DAYS THAT IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DISCERN IF A VEHICLE REALLY IS IN THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. THIS GLARE COMES FROM THE CHROME VENTS OUTLINE. THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM AS I'VE DRIVEN THREE DIFFERENT 2016 TLX ALL WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO THE ACURA DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT. THEY CLAIM THIS IS THE FIRST THEY KNEW ABOUT IT. I ASKED THEM TO PRESENT IT TO A REGIONAL MANGER FOR RESOLUTION. INTERESTINGLY ACURA PARTS MANUALS HAVE A BLACK OUTLET VENT (PN 77610TZ3A01ZA) BUT NONE OF THE 2016 TLX CAN BE BOUGHT WITH A BLACK OUTLET VENT. I HOPE THAT THIS NEW PART NUMBER IS AVAILABLE TO SETTLE THESE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY COMPLAINTS. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM ON SUNNY DAYS FOR THE SIX MONTHS WE HAVE HAD THE CAR. THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE THE GLARE IS TO HAVE BOTH FRONT WINDOWS COMPLETELY DOWN.

SIDE VIEW MIRRORS HAVE A REFLECTION OF INSIDE VENTS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, WHEN YOU HAVE AN OBSTRUCTED VIEW. CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I COULD NOT SEE SIDE VIEW BECAUSE OF REFLECTION.

The contact owns a 2016 Acura TLX equipped with Cooper Tires, Tires Line: Evolution Tour, Tire Size: 225/50/R18, DOT Number: N/A. The contact stated that after driving 25 MPH over a small pothole, the front driver's side tire started bulging, causing the tire to vibrate while driving. The vehicle was taken to a tire mechanic, where the tire was replaced. The tire failure mileage was approximately 26,000. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 70-75 MPH, the contact noticed that there was increasing vibration on passenger's side of the vehicle. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and inspected the vehicle. The contact noticed that the passenger's side rear tire had failed, the bead had separated in the middle of the tread, and the tire had disintegrated and was deformed. The TPMS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tire mechanic, where the tire was replaced. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed an hour later, the steering wheel was pulling significantly to the right, and there was vibration on the passenger's side of the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure increased significantly, and the vehicle became uncontrollable. The TPMS warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, where the contact noticed that the inner side of the tire near the control arm was bulging, and there was a crack on the sidewall. The vehicle was taken to a tire mechanic, where the tire was replaced. The passenger's side tires failure mileage was approximately 26,100. The tires were replaced. The tires were replacement tires. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to bring the defective tires for inspection and warranty claim. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to ship the defective tires for inspection. The tires failure mileage was approximately 26,000. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

Tire size 225/55R17. - Sidewall separation on the inside portion of two tires (unable to identify from looking at tires on vehicle, this could go unnoticed by the driver). No tires were removed from Acura. I do have photos of this safety hazard. - Tires could have blown out while driving and a crash occurring injuring driver or other vehicles on the road. After seeing the tire separation they technicians advised not to drive car vehicle safety hazard. - Unknown if problem was able to be reproduced. - Tire was not inspected by any representative only Acura dealership technicians. - Yes, there were symptoms, when driving at low speeds under 20 mph a squeaky noise was heard, as speed increased the noise was more frequent.

The contact owns a 2016 Acura TLX equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Eagle LS2, Tire Size: 225/55/R17, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the low tire pressure warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, and the contact was informed that the tire was punctured. Additionally, all four tires were dry-rotted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The tire manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,690.

ON MY 2016 ACURA TLX I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT PLASTIC TRIM THAT BREAKS EVERY OTHER YEAR AND FOR MULTIPLE OTHER OWNERS IT HAPPENS EVERY 9 MONTHS. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the sunroof panel to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000. Consumer stated the glass came into the car nearly causing the car to lose control and crash.

Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V060000(Fuel System, Other) which the contact linked to the vehicle failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was made for service. Before the vehicle was serviced, the contact stated that the vehicle stalled while making a left turn; as a result, another vehicle into the rear passenger side door. The air bags deployed upon impact, and no injuries were reported. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent mechanic and was later towed to an Acura collision center where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

My fuel pump I think is messed up. I had my dad and mechanic look at it. They say it is the fuel pump. The mechanic was in the car when it kept jolting every time I pressed the gas. I could have hit someone in front of me! It keeps doing if. There is a fuel pump recall for these cars, but they don’t want to include my car even though it is. I’m highly frustrated. Please help! I put a date when my mechanics told me something’s wrong, but it started way before that.

My Catalac converter needs to be replace I took it in backin March because dash lights were on . It was covered under warranty barley made it the first time I took it into Acura they failed to look if it was covered for me . After a month of stress and research it was so I took it back to Acura with the paperwork and spoke to the manager who checked it 2 times and said it wasn’t I handed him the paperwork n he was able to find it he ordered the part and said he’d give me my diagnosis fee back when the part comes in . I’ve been waiting 6 months for it now. Well now my engine block needs to be replaced wich is a bigger issue . And im barely over 80,000 miles the tech said everything looked up to date on car , there’s no reasonable explanation on Why this happen. And again the part I need is also on back order . Im carless and just over warranty timeframes I’ve only had the car about a year wth a car payment still . This is very frustrating

Was driving down interstate 70 at approximately 75 miles an hour. My cruise control was set and I was going up a small hill and out of nowhere my car decelerates down to about 50-60 miles an hour and it won't shift into gear/turn over and is making a grinding/revving noise. Almost all of the warning lamps and messages started flashing when this happened. There were cars behind me and next to me on the interstate when this happen and could have caused a serious crash given that the car decelerated and stopped functioning in the middle of the road. I had to pull over on the side of the interstate and I immediately called the dealership to see what was going on and if the car was safe to drive. I took my car to the Acura dealership either that same day or the next day and they claimed they didn't know what the issue was and told me that they reset the mainframe and that would take care of the issue. It did not take care of the issue and this problem has continued to happen multiple times. With the most recent time that this issue occurred they told me that I needed to buy a new battery and that would take care of the issue. I purchased a new battery and 2 days later the same thing as above happened again while driving 75 miles down the interstate the car decelerates and about causes me to crash. Prior to this situation happening in 2020, there was an issue with my battery and when my car would go into idle mode at stoplights/stop signs, it would die in the middle of the road and I would have to wait a few minutes before it would start back up.

For just shy of a year, We've been experiencing problems with our 2016 TLX misfiring and stalling. Fuel pressure has been tested and it's shown to dramatically drop while under load. It behaves like the problem identified with the recall NHTSA 19V060000 for the V6 of the same year/model. It's a very disturbing event when it happens and it prevents us from driving the car longer than 30-45 minutes - particularly for adequately and safely handling highway driving. At the worst, the car goes into limp mode/stalls out.

MY CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 75MPH. IT HAPPENED IN MAY, JULY, AND SEPTEMBER 2019. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE TACHOMETER REGISTERING THE RPMS DROPPED TO 1,000 AND STAYED THERE. AFTER PULLING OVER, SHUTTING THE CAR OFF, WAITING, AND RESTARTING THE CAR, THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO OPERATE AS NORMAL. MANY OF THE WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED DURING THIS INCIDENT. FINALLY, IN SEPTEMBER, MY CAR WAS UNDRIVEABLE AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DETERMINATION WAS THAT THE CAR NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. FROM A MOVING POSITION, I WAS GOING AROUND A RIGHT-HAND SLIGHT CURVE GOING APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MHP AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO KEEP POWER, SPEED DECREASED, AND THEN BEGAN WORKING AGAIN AFTER SEVERAL SCARY SECONDS. THE MAIN PROBLEM I HAVE IS WHEN ACCELERATING, THE FUEL SEEMS LIKE IT IS NOT PROCESSED CORRECTLY TO ALLOW MY VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS MECHANICAL ISSUE THAT HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN TEN TIMES. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY SAID MY VIN WAS NOT IN THE LISTING OF RECALLS. I AM CLEARLY HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS MANY OTHER ACURA TLX OWNERS. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON IT DID NOT START THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AS OF NOV 2019. MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE LISTED WITH THE RECALLED LISTING OF OTHER 2016 TLX ACURA VEHICLES.

THE TRANSMISSION IS JERKY, CLUNKY, BOUNCES TO A STOP, BOUNCES AND LURCHES FORWARD WHEN STOPPING, WILL TAKE 2-3 SECONDS TO RESPOND TO PEDAL PUSH AND THEN TAKE OFF. AGAIN, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH ON INTERSTATE ALL ERROR CODES ON DASHBOARD (MIL) LIT UP AND THE CAR BEGAN TO FEEL AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT ENGAGED AS IF I WAS IN NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE BEGAN LOOSING POWER. THE SPEED BEGAN DECREASING, BUT THEN WOULD CATCH FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE GEAR INDICATED THAT IT WAS IN DRIVE. I PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE & PARKED. I WAITED A FEW MINUTES & RESTARTED AND TRIED TO RE-ENGAGE IN DRIVE TO SEE IF IT RESET ITSELF AS IT HAS DONE IN THE PAST JUST 7 WEEKS PRIOR, HOWEVER IT JUST REVVED UP. I CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND HAD IT TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER AN HOUR AWAY AS AGAIN THE MECHANICAL BREAK DOWN OCCURRED WHILE I WAS TRAVELING IN BETWEEN CITIES. THE NEXT MORNING, THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO RETRIEVE THE ERROR CODES AND SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED ANOTHER SOFTWARE UPDATE TO REPAIR THE ISSUE, THE COMPUTER WAS RESET . WHILE DRIVING HOME THE TRANSMISSION BECAME JUMPY AGAIN AROUND 3RD GEAR. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND MADE THEM AWARE OF MY SAFETY CONCERNS FOR THE CAR AS AGAIN, MY ENTIRE FAMILY (HUSBAND, KIDS AND DOGS) WERE IN THE CAR AND FELT AS IF THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN HORRIBLE ACCIDENT HAD I NOT SAFELY NAVIGATED OFF OF THE INTERSTATE WHILE AT SUCH A HIGH SPEED WITH HEAVY HOLIDAY TRAFFIC. THIS ERROR HAS DISPLAYED FOR TIMES AND EACH TIME THERE WAS A DIFFERENT SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM BESIDES HAVING 2 TRANSMISSION UPDATES, BAD BATTERY CELL AND REPLACED PUSH BUTTON GEAR ASSEMBLY. I HAVE DOCUMENTED ALL INCIDENTS AND REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS ACURA CORPORATE. I CURRENTLY HAVE APPOINTMENT FOR NEXT WEEK SO THAT THEIR SERVICE ADVISER CAN TRY AND REPLICATE THIS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM TO DETERMINE WHAT THE ERROR IS. I'VE MADE THEM AWARE THAT THIS IS A DANGEROUS MECHANICAL ISSUE THAT NOT ONLY PUTS ME AND MY PASSENGERS IN DANGER BUT POSSIBLY OTHER CARS, BUT WAS ASSURED I DO NOT NEED A RENTAL UNTIL IT CAN BE SEEN AGAIN.

TAKATA RECALL IT WAS AROUND 7:30 AM I WAS DRIVING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL AND I FELT LIKE I SLIGHTLY LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND LIKE IT WAS SLIPPING SOMEHOW. NEXT THING I KNOW THE STEERING WHEEL IS CROOKED AND ALMOST EVERY WARNING LIGHTS HAVE TURNED ON AND I STARTED GETTING ALL THE WARNING SOUNDS DESCRIBING MORE WARININGS THAN I COULD CHECK ON THE SECOND PAGE ON THIS INCIDENT REPORT. I BARELY BOUGHT MY ACURA A FEW MONTHS AGO SO I'M VERY SHOCKED BE HAVING SUCH A SCARY INCIDENT SO FAST. I THOUGHT ACURA'S WERE DEPENDABLE RELIABLE CARS THAT WOULD KEEP ME AND MORE IMPORTANTLY MY CHILDREN SAFE. I FELT SO SCARED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN. IT WAS EVEN MORE UPSETTING TO FIND THAT THIS SAME SITUATION ON THE SAME BRAND OF ACURA'S HAS HAPPENED BEFORE TO MORE THAN 1 PERSON ON YOUTUBE! WHAT IS ACURA WAITING FOR ON A RECALL. 2016 ACURA TLX 39,462 MILES ON ODOMETER. THE ENGINE LOST POWER. THE WARNING LIGHT DISPLAYED PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, EMISSION SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. AFTER 3 TIMES SHUTTING OFF AND TURNING ON THE POWER BUTTON, THE CONDITION WENT BACK TO NORMAL.

WHILE TRAVELING 75 MPH ON INTERSTATE MULTIPLE / ALL WARNING LIGHTS SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED ON DASH BOARD AND THE CAR PLACED ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL FROM DRIVE POSITION. UPON COMING TO REST CAR WAS PLACED INTO PARK ALONG SHOULDER AND WHEN DRIVE WAS SELECTED IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND ALLOWED TO SIT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING AGAIN. AGAIN IT WOULD NOT ALLOW TO GO INTO DRIVE. TOW TRUCK WAS DISPATCHED AND AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES CAR WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE. VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN ABOUT 1/8 MILE ALONG SHOULDER TO VISIBLE REAR STOP ENTRANCE. WE WAITED FOR TOW TO TRUCK TO ARRIVE. CAR WAS RESTARTED AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO DRIVE OR NEUTRAL WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LOAD ONTO TOW TRUCK. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS NEUTRAL AND DRIVE EVENTUALLY ENGAGED. CAR WAS TAKEN TO NEAREST DEALER JUST BEFORE CLOSE BEFORE MAJOR HOLIDAY. RECIEVED CALL FROM DEALER STATING THAT THE CAUSE OF ALL THIS WAS DEAD BATTERY. UNKNOWN TO THEM BATTERY WAS REPLACED Y MONTHS PRIOR. ALSO I HAVE DTS REPORT SHOWING MULTIPLE MALFUNCTIONS AND ERRORS. I FEEL THAT IF ALL THIS CAN HAPPEN BY HAVING A DEAD BATTERY (THAT SOMEHOW ALLOWS YOU TO RESTART YOUR CAR MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER INITIAL MALFUNCTION) THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. I CALLED DEALERSHIP BACK AND ASKED THEM TO DOUBLE CHECK DIAGNOSIS AND ALSO CHECK ALTERNATOR BEING THAT THE BATTERY IS ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD.

I PULLED OFF TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND THE LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING, WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED "CHECK HILL START ASSIST SYSTEM", "CHECK EMISSION SYSTEM", "CHECK POWER STEERING SYSTEM", "CHECK BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM", "CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM", AND "CHECK PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM". AFTER SITTING IN THE EMERGENCY LANE AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS, THE CAR SHUT OFF. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BATTERY WITH A DEAD CELL. AMAZINGLY, OF ALL THE LIGHTS THAT ILLUMINATED, I NEVER RECEIVED ANY WARNING THAT I HAD DEAD BATTERY. THE BATTERY LIGHT DID NOT COME ON UNTIL THE OTHER WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS HAPPENED AT 35,246. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE SERVICE CENTER IN LESS THAN 10 MONTHS.
