I am from Philadelphia PA and I was driving my car on a highway in rural WV and the engine stalled while driving. I was lucky enough that no other cars were around and I was able to veer the car off the road into a parking lot. The car would not re-start. I had to tow my vehicle to a local mechanic shop who could not help. I was stranded out of state on a holiday weekend with no acura in a 2 hour radius. I ended up renting a u-haul and towing the car 8 hours from WV back to a local Acura in Philadelphia. Acura replaced the engine due to the known re-call but refused to cover the cost of the tow or U-haul.

I was driving home from work and I started hearing a knocking noise and I was trying to get off the highway on the next exit but I didn’t make it the engine locked up and jolted. The car went into neutral luckily I was able to coast to the side of the highway.After getting it towed to the dealership they said it was a rod bearing failure and they needed to change the engine block. I had to fight for it to be covered under warranty but finally they covered it and they changed out the engine block.

My engine makes sounds and possibly there's some shifting noise when I'm not changing gears while driving on the highway. the dealer routinely checks my fluids,so the transmission fluid is fine. I even had a transmission flush after reading an article about this engine. The engine ticks like the rows are sticking. These are all characteristics of the published letter last year recalling Hondas and my car year make and model. Please furnish me with a recall letter so I can have this engine fixed before it dies or burns out on the highway causing injury or death

Vehicle starting making ticking noise, I called Dave White Acura. It very quickly turned into a very loud knocking noise. I called back and they told me to have it towed in which I did. I also took a video of the car knocking. Dave white Acura called me first thing the next day and said, we started your car and it is knocking so loud we immediately shut it off. But no updates were made to my service papers other than my initial phone call. I was advised by Dave White Acura I needed a new engine. I of course asked why, their response was, it’ll be cheaper for you to just put in a new (rebuilt) engine in than for us to tear it apart to find out exactly what it is but you definitely need a new engine. Again, Dave White failed to provide the necessary updates through the process and now Honda is refusing my reimbursement. I paid over $8016 to have a rebuilt engine but into my 2018 TLX.

There was a rattling noise in the engine. The acura dealership service center diagnosed it as a connecting rod bearing failure. In the next few miles of driving, the vehicle stopped running and wouldn’t start. Acura service center later diagnosed this as a motor seizure. This problem is similar to NHTSA ID Number: 11545720 and honda recalls XG1 and GG0

The contact owns a 2018 Acura TLX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds and while the vehicle was idling, there was a valve tap coming from the engine compartment, and the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that a rod had pushed through the wall of the engine, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred three years later. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2018 Acura TLX. The contact stated the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), for a possible failure with the connecting rod, and the vehicle was repaired. Approximately 2-3 years after the recall repair, while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power while accelerating. The contact coasted to the side of the road and became aware of oil leaking from the vehicle. There were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with 4 blown pistons, causing the engine to fail. The contact stated that the previous recall stated that the engine would be replaced as needed. The dealer informed the contact that the engine was no longer covered because the vehicle exceeded the mileage and time limitations. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

Car experiences intermittent hesitation and jerking during acceleration. When car is driven in "economy" mode the jerking begins at 20 mph. When the car is driven in "normal" mode the When accelerating and merging onto highway car was almost rear-ended twice due to sluggish acceleration and jerking. Car also demonstrates engine surging while sitting idle. Spark plugs were changed, fuel treatment was done, and throttle body was inspected. No codes appear when car is scanned. Car has not displayed and illuminated check engine light or any other warning lights. Car was taken into local Acura dealership where problem was unable to be replicated and diagnosis was inconclusive.

I was driving down the road out of town about 3 hours away from home when I heard a beep and car started to stop, later finding out it was going into “limp mode”. It was then towed to a car shop which was not any help, they stated that they didn’t know what was wrong with it and that I needed to take it to Honda down the road 2.5 miles that it just needed a system update; very mistreated and rude not offering towing service suggestions or anything told me I can still crank and drive it just not fast. I got into my car and drove it to Honda which would not go over 15mph trying to get there before closing on a Friday afternoon. After their diagnosis, I was told it was a fuel pump issue but my VIN was not included upfront but prompted me to file a claim report with Acura to see if I could get a reimbursement later on, which was denied due to no recall listed on my VIN which led me to file this claim to get my VIN reanalyzed as I believe it should be included since it is directly related to the known recalls on Acura and don’t agree that is enough to exclude or disprove my VIN. Unfortunately Honda did not have any courtesy vehicles to offer at the time so I had to have someone come pick me up 3 hours from home. The low pressure fuel pump was initially replaced but then stated there was still issue with my car and it was also the high pressure fuel pump as well, both of which are recalls listed on other various year and models of Acura. About a month prior to this situation, a few lights came on related to ABS, the code read mass airflow, still driving as usual. I made an appointment at mechanic to have it worked on and had to wait a few days, the day of the lights weren’t on and when arrived they stated did not see anything wrong with it but may return if happens again.

Fuel pump module failed at 55,000 miles. This has been recalled on the V6 models and mine is 4 cilinder.

Nothing has happened. I just can’t get the Acura dealership in my area which is Jackson Mississippi Jackson Acura. They do not return calls at all and I would like to get my recall on my 2018 TLX repaired. I contacting them about 3 to 4 months ago. Just recently contacted them again for two weeks straight and no one is responding at all. I’m not sure what is going on with this dealership or the management but again I’ve left several messages for Chelsea,her supervisor and the manager of that store. The backup camera lens gets foggy after a rain or when going through a car wash. It takes several days to dry out. The image from the camera is almost completely blurred out to the point where you can't see anything.

I am concerned because the 2018 TLX Acura I purchased is having stalling and starting issues . When I first purchased the car and it had fewer than 17,000 miles problems appeared with the lights coming on, parking break and emission issues. It had to be repaired 3 times. The recalled Fuel system/fuel pump (recall # 19v060000) was replaced in Feb. 2020, which I hoped fixed any mysterious stalling. The first time it stalled I was in a COVID parade at work to support the community. It started up and I did not think about it again. That was in the spring of 2020. Again on Thurs., July 8,2021 the battery light came on and the car stalled while I went to push the gas peddle to go at a light that turned green (It occurred twice in one day). Instead the car stalled. I went to restart, first it said stuck in gear, then it was fine. The dealer claims it is because the gear selector switch had crumbs and too much dirt in it. I find it strange that Acura left such a vulnerable part exposed to elements with cup holders next to it and in a society that has a drive-thru for almost any food. Approximately one week before I got the same messages when pulling into a parking spot just before stopping. I restarted the car and it was fine. Also on May 24, 2021 my car, which had 71,657 miles had another issue with the Green key light flashing and the car did not start. The dealer replaced the control unit for keyless entry. It first appeared when my brother couldn't start my car. He told me and I went to start the car and it was fine. He was not familiar with my car and I thought maybe he didn't hold the brake to start it. Not long after I went to leave for work in the morning and the car did not start at all. I saw the blinking key. my car was towed to the dealer and repaired it. I have never had a car with this type of repeated problem of stalling and not starting. It may be different parts, but are they band aids for something bigger?

ON 6/25/19 AT 16:39 I WAS DRIVING MY 2018 ACURA TLX NORTHBOUND ON A FOUR LANE CITY STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND CLEAR. AS I APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION, THE CMBS (COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM) BEEPED AND BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP DESPITE THERE BEING NO CAR AHEAD. THIS SURPRISED ME AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS THE TRUCK BEHIND ME HAD TO STOP SUDDENLY. WHILE BRAKING THE VEHICLE IGNORED ALL THROTTLE INPUT, THUS MY ENGINE RACED AND SPUN THE FRONT TIRES ONCE THROTTLE INPUT WAS RESTORED. THE EVENT, WITH SOUND, WAS CAPTURED VIA MY DASHCAM, I HAVE ATTACHED A STILL IMAGE FROM THE DASHCAM VIDEO AND CAN SUPPLY THE FOOTAGE IF NEEDED. MY ACURA IS DUE FOR SERVICE NEXT MONTH AND I PLAN TO REPORT THIS ISSUE TO MY ACURA DEALER AT THIS TIME. I CHANGED THE VEHICLE 'FORWARD COLLISION WARNING DISTANCE' SETTING FROM 'LONG' (DEFAULT) TO 'SHORT' AND HAVE NOT HAD THE SAME ISSUE RECUR.

I have a 2018 Acura tlx 6 cyl with 39k miles on it. Transmission bangs Into second gear when I first start driving the car each day. I brought to the dealership. Had codes updated and did a transmission service with no succsess. Dealership stated They can’t do anything else without tripping a code. I know this is a known issue but can’t get It resolved. All maintenance is up to date on car.

Yesterday a friend of mine was driving my 2018 Acura TLX. She thought she had it in P(park,) but it wasn't in park it was in D(drive) still. She had let her foot off the brake thinking it was in park and the car started moving. It wasn't until she said she looked up and realized it wasn't in park. She stated to me that she pushed the P(park,) but unfamiliar with my car and doesn't know which buttons on the panel are such as P(park,) R(reverse,) N(neutral.) With that said let it be noted that when I bought the car in April of 2022 the D & P were worn out from use. Almost a year later they are even more worn out so my friend didn't know exactly if the vehicle was in P or D because of how worn they are. The dealership I bought it from is aware of the buttons wearing out and said they wouldn't fix/replace it. Please note the 2 pictures submitted with this shows #1 with headlights off #2 with headlights on.

When I bought the 2018 Acura TLX I asked about the buttons on the shifter being warn out. And they said they were fine and did not need to be replaced. I also brought this to Acura's attention that the fact that they wear out enough other drivers will not know which buttons is which and it can become a safety issue. Again, they brushed it off and said it wasn't in need of fixing. Well, my friend drove my car and even though I told her about the issue still had issues. She could not find the park button and pushed the wrong button. Causing the car to move when she thought it was in park.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2018 Acura TLX. The contact stated that it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was purchased on September 10th, 2025, as a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 76,410. At the time of registration, when the title was received, it was discovered that the mileage was 176,410. The title read, "Not Actual Mileage, Mileage Tampering," which indicated odometer fraud had been detected. After ordering the Carfax Report, the report indicated that the mileage 176,000 miles at the time of purchase. The contact had not reported the odometer fraud to any other parties.

I have had, for years, Idle Stop/restart failures on my 2018 Acura TLX, too many times to count. One time, I heard the screeching tires of a car behind me stopping to avoid rear-ending me, when the driver thought I was going to proceed through an intersection, only to have the car die. Another time, with my infant in the car, I was nearly T-Boned when the car died failing to get through an intersection after a stop. I've taken the car in for service numerous times. Each time, they either couldn't find the problem, or told me I didn't drive it enough, or needed to keep it on a trickle charger, or that I needed a new Battery. In June of 2022, I received a letter from Acura informing me to get a PGM-FI software update. I did. Last night, the car died attempting to restart on a freeway off ramp (which it has done previously as well I should add). I shouldn't have to explain how dangerous it is having a car die on a freeway off ramp. Acura - FAIL.

When I press the start button with my key fob in range and with a new battery, the car won't start, but makes a rapid "ticking" noise while all of the dashboard lights flicker and other interior and exterior lights turn on. Despite repeated attempts over several hours, the car will not start.

I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE AND PARKED MY CAR ON THE STORES SURFACE LOT. WHEN I RETURNED TO MY CAR AND TURNED MY CAR ON ALL ERROR MESSAGES APPEARED - EMISSION LIGHTS ON AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE.

I got 5 lights on my dash stating that I have an auto high beam problem, road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation system problem, lane keeping assist problem, and adaptive cruise control problem. I got these lights on my dash at the exact same time and this happened 1 week after my car alarm started going off randomly. I will now have to change my windshield camera sensor. Seems like this is an issue with many Acura owners.

The contact owns a 2018 Acura TLX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Acura Watch warning light illuminated. The Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), and Collision Mitigation warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the Acura Watch bumper sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 54,000.

My CMBS, ACC, LKAS and Road Departure Mitigation System all light up on my dashboard as well brake system light. I had a alignment done on my car about 2 weeks ago and the next day they came on. I went back to the shop where I had the alignment done to ask why they came on. They check the alignment again and said something about calibrating the sensors and checked that again. But the lights didn't go off.

While driving, my vehicle has randomly shut off mid-drive on multiple occasions without warning. This has happened both at low speeds and on city roads, creating a serious safety risk as the engine cuts out without any dashboard lights, alerts, or codes. I lose power steering and acceleration, which could easily cause an accident if it happens at higher speeds or in traffic. The issue is intermittent and unpredictable, making it difficult to reproduce. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership multiple times, but they have been unable to replicate the issue or find a cause through diagnostics. Honda has advised me to tow the vehicle the next time it happens, which is unreasonable given the uncertainty and safety risk of being stranded. At the time of each incident, there were no warning lights, error messages, or unusual noises. The vehicle has restarted after turning it off and on again, but the underlying cause remains unknown. I have opened a case with American Honda, but no resolution has been offered beyond repeating the same inspections that have already failed to diagnose the issue. To date, neither the manufacturer nor the dealership has confirmed the issue or replaced any parts. I am deeply concerned about the potential for this to happen in a more dangerous situation. I am reporting this to NHTSA in hopes that this issue is investigated and resolved before it leads to an accident or injury. Cause of issue: UNKNOWN. Vehicle available for inspection.

I have had several incidents where I have been unable to start the vehicle. The vehicle does not recognize the keyless remote even though it is present and has a good battery. We have been stranded several times because the car would not start. I have taken it to the dealer and submitted a complaint with Acura which they have done nothing to solve the problem since they cannot replicate it. I have pictures and videos but your system is not letting me upload the file type. These have also been provided to the dealer

The contact owns a 2018 Acura TLX. The contact stated that after refueling and attempting to park in a parking space, the vehicle experienced a sudden acceleration. The contact mentioned that no safety features were activated. As a result, the contact crashed into a pillar where the vehicle came to a stop and prevented it from then crashing into a building. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle's front end was damaged, and the contact noticed a significant amount of fluid on the ground underneath the front end as well. The pillar that was crashed into also had damage. The vehicle was towed to a collision center where it was pending a diagnostic testing result. The contact sustained injuries to her neck and upper back areas that required medical attention. A police report was filed. A dealer was contacted via phone where the contact was informed that the vehicle failure was not related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000.

ON THE MORNING OF 1/7/2020, MY CARS' BRAKE SENSING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED BRINGING MY CAR TO A GRINDING HALT LAUNCHING MYSELF FORWARD TOWARD THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE ITEMS IN MY PASSENGER SEAT FORWARD INTO THE FLOORBOARD. THIS WAS ON A CITY STREET APPROACHING THE INTERSECTION OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY. THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED AND THANKFULLY, THERE WERE NO CARS WITHIN A CLOSE DISTANCE BEHIND ME. THERE HAD BEEN A TRUCK THAT WAS ~100+ YARDS IN FRONT OF ME THAT TURNED RIGHT INTO A GAS STATION. THIS WAS NEARING AN INTERSECTION WHERE I PLANNED TO TURN RIGHT AND I LET MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND WAS SLOWING DOWN. AFTER THE TRUCK WAS ALREADY PARKED AT THE GAS PUMP W/THE DRIVER OPENING HIS DOOR, THIS MALFUNCTION IN MY BRAKING SYSTEM OCCURRED W/NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. THE GOODSON ACURA DEALERSHIP I TOOK MY CAR TO HAD SEVERAL TEAM MEMBERS WHO HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCE THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM WHEN A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THEM HAD TURNED RIGHT. THEY EXPLAINED I SHOULD 'THINK OF IT AS A DELAYED RESPONSE IN THE SYSTEM'. THEY NOTED THAT ACURA IS AWARE OF THIS, BUT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. I INFORMED THEM THAT I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THAT ANSWER. A SAFETY FEATURE ON MY CAR IS NOW A SAFETY RISK FOR ME TO POTENTIALLY BE REAR-ENDED SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHEN IT HAPPENED. THEY RAN A COMPLETE CHECK OF THE SYSTEM TODAY, 1/9/2020 AND NO ERRORS WERE NOTED. THEY DID ADJUST THE SETTING FROM "NORMAL" SENSITIVITY ON DISTANCE TO BE FURTHER OUT, BUT IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE SET OUTSIDE OF "NORMAL" SETTINGS FOR PROPER HANDLING. ACURA IS A LUXURY LINE VEHICLE WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY SAFETY FEATURES IN PLACE TO PROTECT DRIVERS/PASSENGERS, NOT TO POTENTIALLY HARM THEM. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE MALFUNCTION TO HAPPEN FOR MYSELF OR MY FAMILY. IF THIS IS TRULY KNOWN TO ACURA AS A CONCERN AND NOT BEING ADDRESSED, THIS IS A PROBLEM.

Engine fails to start after idle stop, when the idle-stop off button is not engaged, and the battery doesn't have enough power to re-start the vehicle. Essentially, the engine tries to start up at a traffic light/intersection but fails, causing the car to turn off and shift to Neutral without warning. I then have to realize what is happening, shift the car from Neutral to Park, and hit the start button to be able to re-start the car. There is no warning from the car that the battery is going to be unable to keep the car running, so the stall is 100% unexpected. This is unsafe, as the re-start procedure is not intuitive, takes time, and causes cars behind you to start honking. It could very easily cause a crash. Either Acura needs to fix this issue with a battery warning, or provide the option of turning the auto-idle stop off button on permanently (which some members of our government wouldn't like, but would fix the problem and keep someone from being seriously injured). FOR THE PAST TWO DAYS I SEE THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR POP UP ALONG WITH TWO ERRORS. "ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE PROBLEM" AND "EMISSIONS SYSTEM PROBLEM" THIS HAPPEND AFTER DRIVING AND PARKING THE CAR. THE NEXT DAY I TURNED THE CAR ON AND SAW THE ERRORS. NOT SURE WHAT CPULD BE THE CAUSE OF THIS. I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS UNIT. HAD IT SINCE JULY 2017 WITH ONLY 3228MILES. PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU.

Date of incident : August 31,2025 Around 9pm on August 31, I was fixing to accelerate at a green light. I pressed the gas pedal, my car went up to 40 mph and then the engine failed. This is due to a recall on the bearing rods for 2015-2020 Acura TLX. The incident occurred a month after financing the car. I don't have a warranty, so I opened up a case with the manufacturer to get help with the repair cost (which is 25,500 for a new engine block and 2 new cylinder heads). Unfortunately, Acura denied assistance. The car only has 68880 miles on it. The rod snapped and put a hole through my engine block. Shame on the manufacturer for denying assistance. I'm now stuck making payments on a car I cannot drive. Yes I have insurance, but it was not involved in an accident so I'm helpless there.

While I was driving in the fwy I tried changed lanes and needed to speed so that incoming car wouldn’t hit me but my car was stalling. It has happened 3 times!!! I took it to the dealership and they said it’s the camera and that they don’t have the part on stock. I asked for a rental car meanwhile we wait for the part and they said they can’t do that. I stated to them that the car is dangerous not only for me but for the public if I keep driving it like that. They said there’s nothing they can do!

Hi, I’m having issues with my fuel pump / engine and I seen online there was a previous recall for this issues regarding my year make and model but when I search my vin it’s not included? Not sure why when I’m having issues related to that exact recall. I believe it can be related. I took it to Acura and they want to charge me 5,000 dollars for repair. I have a 2018 Acura tlx 3.5 v6 which is stated in this photo attached. Can I get some more clarification please? I’m having all issues notated on the photo. Regarding car idle, fuel issues, stalling and more. My car slid into Neutral while I was driving twice! Super scary. When I took it to Acura they diagnosed everything that was in the recall? In September 2023 went in for an oil change. Next day all My CMBS, ACC, LKAS and Road Departure Mitigation System all light up on my dashboard as well brake system light. I called and took the car in they said that it had something to do with the camera sensor. I left a complaint and the manager called after I explained to him he said he would call me back. 1.5 years later he never called back. In October 2024 my car alarm started going off for no reason. I took it in and $1000 to fix. Seems like a lot of electric issues with this car

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the parts to do the recalls repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle only responded as needed when the accelerator pedal was depressed with excessive force. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

there has been a recall out for my vehicle since november 9th or so and i took my car in around the 19th of november because my car started making a loud knocking noise and i initially knew that it was from the recall and so i took it in on the 20th to have it inspected and so when i took it to get inspected and diagnosed to see what was going on.. acura carland told me it from my rod bearing but there was no fix available at the time and so the noise was terrible and i asked if it’s ok to drive on and the service manager hector hernandez told me it was fine just keep up with the old change and see what happens in january which i didn’t agree with and so a month goes by and im heading home from work my car keep making the knocking noise and it getting worse than ever and my vehicle is stalling on the road and i was just praying that it doesn’t blow on me or catch fire and so as soon as i am turning off the exit to pull over and get home my engine completely seized and left my car in neutral and start rolling with no engine response. my engine completely blew and wouldn’t crank and it finally stopped rolling. i had gotten it towed home and reached out to the manufacturer and dealer to see what happens now and so i was told to have it towed to the dealer to get a engine diagnosis done so my case could get started and once i got that done. i was referred that my engine needs to be replaced due to the rod bearing creating metal shavings to enter my engine and damaging it. once i sent over the documentation and photos to the manufacturer i was still told there’s nothing to be done till january forcing me to be without a vehicle for 2 1/2 months with no loaner or anything. i been fighting for a resolution and nobody has done anything but point fingers at the dealer and manufacturer when i just needed a resolution for the time being to get me through till there is a permanent solution and has me left stressed and forced to rely on public transportation in various condition

i took my car to acura carland in duluth georgia and i went initially for a check up on my recall i was notified for regarding my rod bearing and was told that there’s nothing they can do about it and offered to do a wheel alignment on my vehicle and that should help with the knocking noise i had coming from my engine and that i would have to wait till january for anything else regarding my recall. i asked what could i do until then and i was told to keep up with my oil change and that its until january. i even asked for a loaner and was denied stating that they don’t offer that which was hard to believe. a month after my recall on december 7th at 9:03 est pm my vehicle made more knocking noise way worse than before i had took it to acura carland and i was traveling home from work and suddenly my car start losing power and my check engine was flashing and car was stalling a bunch which eventually lead to my entire engine giving out and i was left stranded in the middle of the night with my car not operating nor cranking. i reached out to the manufacturer again and she provided me a case number but i really wish something could be done sooner but now my car is completely broken and won’t crank anymore due to my engine being worn down by this recall which could of been avoided by proper customer care and no i don’t have a car anymore with no help from no one. please help

I've had multiple failures on this vehicle. First, the engine had a rod knock and Acura gave me a very hard time approving the repair and eventually replacement of the engine. Second, the ADAS system is not working and is a huge safety concern. I keep getting error messages that my road mitigation and lane keeping assist systems do not work. Third, the ABS module system cannot communicate with my ECU and is not working properly. Another safety concern as this controls a lot of the wheel speed sensors, brakes, etc on this vehicle. A quick Google search for acura tlx ABS module repair will bring up pages and pages of people complaining about this very same problem yet Acura is not doing anything about it. This problem also affected other models such as the TSX, TL, RL, and the Oddysey. I've taken my vehicle to several mechanics and they all state that this is a very common problem in Honda/Acura. I'm not sure how Honda/Acura can risk the lives of their customers in this way but it is not safe as this vehicle is my daily commuter that I use for my family.

I am one of many owners of an Acura/Honda J35 V6 engine that has had a connecting rod bearing failure at low mileage to no fault of the owner. In this case that is me. I bought this vehicle 5,000 miles ago from a dealer and it ran great. No issues. Ran trouble codes. None. Out of no where it started ticking. I stopped. Many other people who don’t know cars wouldn’t. If you keep driving the vehicle with this engine failure it eventually seizes the motor and you lose power steering. Connecting rods can snap and be projected through the engine as well. This is an uncommon failure in engines unless neglected or there is a defect. Honda even had to recall vehicle many years ago for the same exact issue which is now occurring again. I am encouraging other owners to file a complaint that are in our Acura forum online. Will be able to submit documentation when car is fixed. At dealer now.

I was driving and a lot of warning lights came on, on the dash and 10 different warning messages in the message center. The alignment instantly messed up jerking my car to the right and I had to try to gain control and correct. Luckily, I was only going about 25-30mph and was able to correct. If this would have occurred moving faster the outcome could have been very different. Dealership is stating it is the P-AWS actuator on my 2018 Acura TLX that have gone out and caused this to occur. Appears to be an issue many have encountered with two different Acura models according to what I have found online and a costly repair of $6,000. Someone could really have been hurt with this issue if going at a speed of normal driving or on a freeway.

There are so many lights flashing, my vehicle will not go over 50MPH, My steering wheel is no longer straight its actually to the left. I brought it to Acura and they are stating its a REAR TOE ACTUATOR issue and refuse to cover the 5,100.00 fee to fix this issue that has had a SAFETY BULLETIN posted for a 2015 TLX. There has been a bulletin about this according to Carvana so ACURA is aware of this issue but refuse to recall this issue. Warning lights are as follow, BRAKE SYSTEM ISSUE, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, Adaptive Cruise Control problem, VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST PROBLEM, PRECISION ALL WHEEL STEER PROBLEM, POWER STEERING FAILURE. This vehicle only has 46,987 miles.

My car slid off of the road during a blizzard and hit a tree head on. My front end had smashed in and the car was totaled. The airbags did not deploy and the police who arrived on the scene believed that they should have. I brought my car to a body shop to assess the damages as well as look into the issue of the airbags. He told me that all of the crash sensors had gone off and my seat belt had locked up which led him to believe that my airbags should have definitely deployed. The car had no warning lamps on prior to the accident. I often travel on the interstate and had this crash happened at greater speeds I most likely would have not survived. The vehicle is in transit to a salvage yard but is available for inspection.

Vehicle is having problems w original recall issues. Car stopping on its own on the highway, car says it’s on E all the time but has gas, car hesitates continually and sometimes just stops, electrical system is having major glitches, transmission and engine having major issues with hesitation and delay. I’ve bright it back many times and I’m beyond frustrated with no resolution. It’s unsafe to drive. Problem since day 1 I got the car. I’m scared to drive it.

On June 1, 2021 at about 9 p.m. the hood popped up, then the truck latch, the speedometer was reading a different speed than the cruise control without any interference, and the bluetooth and entertainment center were not operating correctly, yet no codes or warning lights. On resuming travel on I-80 a semi started flashing his lights and veered out of the way so I slowed, and the parking brake engaged without my use of the parking brake as I was travelling at 80 mph, slowed to 45 with the semi. Struck a road marker and the wheels were locked up on the interstate and steam appeared along along the windshield and passenger window with some whining from transmission. I notified Acura (Montreal) from alongside the interstate. Research revealed that this problem has been reported in many different types of Acura since 2015. There were many warning lamps that appeared after the lock-up with two messages "Emission System Problems" and "Electric Parking Brake Problem" with the mileage at 43k. When I tried to move the car individual wheels locked up, first driver rear, then front passenger, followed by front driver and rear passenger. There was smoke coming out from the wheels, and the front bumper has physical damage. Seeing this problem existed for years, and not the seriousness and intensity of the problem grew it is hard to understand how Acura and the NHTSA cannot issue a recall when this could have been a serious calamity on a major interstate causing loss of life, injury and serious interruption with interstate commerce. The vehicle was towed to Acura dealership in Reno on June 2, 2021 and the dealership's service department has been very helpful.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR ON OCTOBER 7, 2017 AND BY DECEMBER 22,2017 (DEALER REPORT ATTACHED), I HAD ALREADY EXPERIENCED AND REPORTED FOR THE FIRST TIME THE MALFUNCTIONING INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM ON MY 2018 ACURA TLX. THIS ISSUE IS ONGOING. THE TECHNOLOGICAL FLAW (PICTURES ATTACHED) IS THAT THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WILL FREEZE DURING OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IMPACTS SEVERAL ESSENTIAL SAFETY AND DRIVING CAPABILITIES. WHEN THE SCREEN IS FROZEN, THE BACKUP CAMERA FAILS TO DISPLAY AS THE FROZEN SCREEN WILL NOT UNFREEZE UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. THIS MEANS THAT YOU HAVE TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO RESET THE SYSTEM. THIS FREEZE ALSO CAUSES YOUR PROGRAMMED GPS ROUTE (ON-SCREEN AND VOICE DIRECTIONS) TO GO HAYWIRE AND COMPLETELY FAIL, AGAIN REQUIRING YOU TO LEAVE THE ROAD AND FIND A PLACE TO PARK, TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, I HAVE BEEN ON FAMILY ROAD TRIPS AND THE INFOTAINMENT HAS FROZEN AND I HAVE HAD TO LEAVE THE HIGHWAY AND RESET THE SYSTEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR ME AND OTHERS GIVEN THE TERRAIN IS UNKNOWN AND DRIVING (ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT) CARRIES A LOT OF RISK. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE NUMEROUS TIMES WITH FIVE DEALERS IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. NONE OF THEM HAVE TAKEN ACCOUNTABILITY NOR ACKNOWLEDGED MY PROBLEM, SAYING THEY CANNOT REPLICATE IT. HOWEVER, I HAVE NOTICED THE INFOTAINMENT FREEZINGS TEND TO OCCUR ON RELATIVELY LONGER DRIVES. THIS INFOTAINMENT DEFECT IS NOT UNIQUE, THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND ONGOING LAWSUITS REGARDING THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEMS IN ACURA TLX AND RDX OF VARIOUS YEARS (2019-2020), BUT MY MODEL'S YEAR HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED. MY FAMILY AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR. I SUSPECT THIS U SHAPED PIECE IS USED IN THE ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION OF THE SEAT AND AFTERWARDS COVERED WITH THE PLASTIC TRIM. THIS DEFECT HAS AFFECTED CARS BACK TO 2015, AND ACURA IS JUST REPLACING THE PLASTIC TRIM PIECE. ONE CAN GOOGLE "DRIVER SEAT PLASTIC BREAKING APART" AND SEE THAT ARE MANY CASES. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ACURA MANUFACTURE A STRONGER PLASTIC TRIM PIECE, OR A TALLER ONE, OR FIND A WAY TO ELIMINATE THE EXPOSED U SHAPED METAL PIECE. MINE IS A 2018 TLX WITH 27,000 MILES.
