The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with the headlights activated, the front driver’s and passenger’s side low-beam headlights intermittently failed to remain illuminated, making it difficult to see the roadway. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the HDM headlamp driver module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The contact referenced the NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V519000 (Exterior Lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.

Low beam headlights intermittently go out. Work ok one minute, then go dark. Very dangerous. Known issue under GM recall # 14291. The national highway traffic safety administration campaign ID number 15V-519. Problem has been confirmed by West-Herr Dodge in Rochester NY. Per info I have found this does not appear to have been permanently fixed by GM. As such the repair should be done at no charge going forward.

DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK AND WILL NOT OPEN. IT WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH THE LOCK BUTTON OR WITH THE KEY. I HAVE TO CLIMB OVER THE PASSENGER SEAT TO ENTER AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. I LOOKED THE PROBLEM UP ONLINE AND FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IN AN ACCIDENT.

HELLO, MY 2006 BUICK LACROSSE REGULAR BEAM HEADLIGHTS KEEPS GOING OUT DUE TO THE WIRING GETTING HOT FOR SOME REASON. NO AFTERMARKET HIGHLIGHTS OR BULBS BEEN ADDED. THE WIRING IS MELTING COMPLETELY. YOU CAN SEE SMOKE COMING FROM THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. I'M ALSO EXPERIENCING MY ENTIRE DASH GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING FOR 2-SECONDS THEN COMES BACK ON, I'M NOT SURE IF THE WIRING THAT'S SHORTING OUT FROM MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS AFTER BURNING IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE OR NOT SINCE THE WIRES BEGINS TO TOUCH AFTER THE WIRE COVERING IS BURNED. I CONTACTED BUICK THE MANUFACTURE, AND THEY ARE GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND ASKING ME QUESTIONS THAT DOESN'T EVEN PERTAIN TO THE ISSUES AT HAND, LIKE WHEN WAS YOUR LAST OIL CHANGE? WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, BOTH HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE AREA THAT I LIVE IS RURAL AND BACK ROADS DO NOT HAVE STREET LIGHTS. WHILE THE BRIGHTS WERE WORKING, THAT ALSO CREATED A HAZARDOUS CONDITION, AS THE BRIGHTS COULD TEMPORARILY BLIND AN ONCOMING DRIVER, ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS ON NARROW 2 LANE ROADS. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO ART MORAN BUICK DEALERSHIP AND I PAID OVER $300.00 TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT MODULE. I WAS TOLD THAT GM ONLY COVERED THIS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE TO 12 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. THIS HAPPENED SIX MONTHS PAST THAT DATE. THE CAR HAS 98,300 MILES ON IT AS OF TODAY. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD, AND NHTSA SHOULD REQUIRE A FULL RECALL. I HAVE THE RECALL LETTER FROM GM, AS WELL AS THE PAID BILL FOR THE REPAIR FROM THE BUICK DEALER. HOWEVER, I AM NOT A COMPUTER GENIOUS, SO TELL ME HOW I CAN GET THESE DOCUMENTS TO YOU.

In spite of multiple wheel alignments, where all of the wheels are in alignment with each other, this car still pulls sharply to the right. It is noted amongst internet discussion groups that General Motors/Buick has a common problem with a steering sensor/computer interface that causes this steering problem. I have contacted dealerships, along with Buick's California "response team" with no solution. Everybody I've spoken to so far appears to be clueless about this problem which I suspect is not a truthful response from them. The pulling has been going on for approximately 10 years, but my father (the original owner of this car) was already elderly at the time and had difficulty talking with people on the phone because of hearing loss. He let this fester. This is a serious issue because of the consistent pulling that could lead to lane drifting and cause an accident.

The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle began to shake and vibrate and the felt like that the front passenger’s side tire was about to detach from the vehicle. The contact slowed down and drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the tie rod and wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the repairs had not been performed by the first independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. ABOUT 8:30 PM, I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY INFANT DAUGHTER, WHO WAS IN A FRONT FACING CARSEAT, MY SON, AND MY HUSBAND WERE PASSENGERS. IT WAS RAINING OUTSIDE AND THE WINDOWS STARTED FOGGING. I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROSTER AND ABOUT 30 SECONDS LATER, THERE WAS A LOUD BANG! I THOUGHT SOMEONE THREW SOMETHING AT MY CAR OR SHOT OUT THE WINDOW. THERE IS A BLOCK OF WINDOW WHERE THE DEFROSTER IS SMASHED OUT AND THE REST OF THE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED!! IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE REAR DEFROSTER CAUSED THE WINDOW TO SHATTER. I HAVE CONTACTED BUICK AND FOUND THAT THERE IS ONLY A 36,000 OR 4 YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER LIMITED WARRANTY. MY CAR IS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE WITH OVER 100,000 MILES. I AM OUTRAGED THAT THIS HAPPENED. THERE ARE NO WARNING SIGNS, NO SMELLS, NO NOTHING TO WARN YOU THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS COULD HAPPEN. IF I WASN'T ALERT, I COULD HAVE CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF ME. I TOOK A SHORT TRIP EARLIER TODAY AND WHEN I GOT HOME I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE LOCKING OR UNLOCKING OF THIS DOOR BEFORE AND NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I UNLOCKED THE DOOR IT REMAINED LOCKED AND UNABLE TO BE OPENED. IN AUGUST, 2014 I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF GM RECALL 14299, BUT THEY STATED THE PARTS WERE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. IN SEPTEMBER I RECEIVED A LETTER INFORMING ME THAT THE PARTS WERE NOW AVAILABLE TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE GETTING THE PARTS IN ONLY A FEW AT A TIME AND RIGHT NOW THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY, BUT THEY TOOK MY NAME AND NUMBER AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY CAME IN. MY 2006 BUICK LACROSSE HAS A CENTER ARM REST. THE TOP OF THE ARM REST LIFTS UP TO REVEAL A STORAGE COMPARTMENT, WHICH CONTAINS STORAGE SLOTS FOR CD'S. ATTACHED TO THE INSIDE TOP OF THE ARM REST IS A FOAM PAD, WHICH I ASSUME WAS PUT THERE TO PREVENT THE CD'S FROM RATTLING AND MAKING NOISE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN YOU ARE STORING CD'S AND LIFT THE TOP OF THE ARM REST TO GET AT THE STORAGE AREA, THE CD'S STICK TO THE FOAM PAD AND GET LIFTED OUT OF THE STORAGE AREA. THE RESULT IS CD'S SPILLED ALL OVER THE FRONT PASSENGER AREA. BESIDE BEING A MAJOR PAIN IN THE NECK, THIS CAN BE VERY DISCONCERTING TO A DRIVER, CAUSING DISTRACTION - WHICH CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS. AT 12K MILES THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND CONTINUED TO GO ON AND OFF DEPENDENT OF THE RPM. I BOUGHT A BUICK LACROSSE VIN [XXX] ON MARCH 30, 2006. I PICKED UP THE CAR ON MARCH 31, 2006, AND HAD A PROBLEM WITH A LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT THAT DAY. I WAS SICK AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR BUT ATTEMPTED TO USE ONSTAR DIAGNOSTIC WHICH THEY WERE UNABLE TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM AND I E-MAILED THE DEALER CONCERNING THE PROBLEM. UPON MY RECOVERY, I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE ON APRIL 7, 2006. ON APRIL 10, 2006, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONTACTED AND INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR NEEDS A REPAIR TO THE CAMSHAFT ASSEMBLY. THIS DEFECT EXISTED THE DAY I PICKED UP THE CAR, IT HAD 87 MILES ON IT WHEN I PICKED IT UP, AND SINCE THE CAR WAS INSPECTED THE MORNING I PICKED IT UP, THE DEALER ALLOWED A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT TO BE SOLD AND DELIVERED. UPON CONTACTING BUICK TO MAKING BUICK IS AWARE THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED AND SEEKING RESOLUTION THE DEALER PUT A NEW ENGINE IN THE CAR. IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THE DEALER OR BUICK TO SELL A DEFECTIVE CAR AND BELIEVE THAT PUTTING A NEW ENGINE IN THE CAR RESOLVES THE PROBLEM. AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WORK SPORADICALLY ON ALL DOORS. THEY SEEM TO LOCK WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, BUT WILL NOT UNLOCK WHEN SHIFTED TO PARK OR WHEN YOU PUSH THE POWER UNLOCK BUTTON. A RELATED PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT AND REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WHERE THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. REPLACED THE CABLE IN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE THAT WAS CORRODED, NOW EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE REAR DRIVER SIDE. I DON'T WANT TO SPEND $200 TO REPLACE ANOTHER CABLE. I WENT TO THE PARKING GARAGE AFTER WORK, AND HAD DIFFICULT GETTING INTO MY VEHICLE. THE REMOTE DID NOT WORK. WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN THE LOCK, IT WOULD TURN BUT NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR. So many issues with the Buick. Made of glass. First I had no coolant line and I took it to be inspected before at, Baumen Ford and they said everything was fine with it. Turns out needed new coolant line, head gasket, timing cover, and switch. 5 new tires, rebuilt transmission, epc solenoid, transmission lines, rear pivot, left front wheel barring, formed band, and many many more. Currently with everything replaced and more that I haven’t listed/can’t state because don’t know the term. Already Has costed me 10k. And still have issues, with the APP, code P1125, P2120, P2138, & C0240. Need to inspect these car Models from 2003-2009 as they all have similar issues and nothing has been done.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 210,000.

STEERING KNUCKLE- WAS REPLACED ONCE YEARS AGO UNDER WARRANTY BUT IS NOW STARTING TO MAKE NOISE AGAIN CONSISTENTLY WORSE FOR THE LAST 1-2 YEARS.FOR MONTHS NOW, WE'VE NOTICED THAT OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WILL ACT WEIRD. THE THROTTLE WILL BE LESS RESPONSIVE AND IT WILL ALMOST ACT LIKE IT'S MISSING ON A COUPLE CYLINDERS OR SO, BUT IT HAS NEVER SET A CODE FOR IT. THE SHIFT POINTS ARE RAISED AND YOU HAVE TO DRASTICALLY GIVE IT MORE THROTTLE TO GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE, BUT WHEN IT DOES, IT KINDA LIKE SURGES AND THEN IT SHIFTS HARDER. ONCE IT IS IN ROAD GEAR AND CRUISING, THE CAR SURGES WHILE AT A CONSTANT SPEED, IT CAN BE FELT THAT THE CAR SURGES AND DOESN'T REMAIN TOTALLY SMOOTH AND CONSISTENT LIKE IT SHOULD. AN ENGINE RESTART USUALLY STOPS IT FOR THAT TIME. WE HAVE THE SAME SPORADIC PROBLEM AND HAVE HAD FOR YEARS ON OUR '98 OLDS EIGHTY-EIGHT WITH A 3800 ENGINE ALSO. BOTH CARS ARE NOW DOING THE EXACT SAME THING OCCASIONALLY, ARE 8 MODEL YEARS APART, BOTH HAVE THE 3800 ENGINE BUT ONE IS A SERIES II ENGINE AND THE OTHER IS A SERIES III. WE JUST NOTICED THE PAST FEW MONTHS THAT THE CAR IS STARTING TO MAKE FRONT END NOISES LIKE THE FRONT STABILIZER BAR IS BROKE, SO I LOOKED AT IT RECENTLY AND NOTICED THAT THE LEFT SIDE OF IT WHERE IT CONNECTS TO THE LOWER CONTROL ARM IS STRESS FRACTURED IN HALF. *TR

FOR YEARS, GOING BACK TO WHEN IT HAD A WARRANTY AND THE DEALERSHIP EVEN WORKED ON IT FOR THIS PROBLEM AND HAS HAD ONE OR TWO CALLS IN THE YEARS SINCE FOR SAME PROBLEM, SES LIGHT COMES ON, IT USED TO GO OFF AND ON OCCASIONALLY, BUT NOW HAS BEEN ON FOR A YEAR OR SO CONSTANTLY. IT IS FOR DIAGNOSTIC CODE P2440 (SECONDARY AIR INJECTION VALVE STUCK OPEN). DEALERSHIP REPLACED VALVE AND/OR AIR PUMP YEARS AGO AND SAID IT WOULD FIX IT, BUT IT DIDN'T. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS, SES LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN FOR SAME THING. I CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID I COULD BRING IT BACK, BUT IT WOULD BE ON MY DIME BECAUSE THEY BARELY GOT IT COVERED THE FIRST TIME UNDER WARRANTY. WE PUT UP WITH IT FOR A BIT, THEN I PURCHASED A NEW VALVE AND INSTALLED IT MYSELF, LIGHT DID NOT GO OUT AND IT STILL TO THIS DAY SAYS THE VALVE (NEW ONE EVEN) IS STUCK OPEN. PROBLEM IS, WHEN THE SES LIGHT IS ON, THE REMOTE STARTER WON'T WORK, WHICH IS VERY UPSETTING FOR ME AND MY WIFE. FOR YEARS, JUST LIKE THE FIRST PROBLEM LISTED, IT WAS INITIALLY ?FIXED? WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, WHICH ONLY WORKED FOR A SHORT TIME. THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN! SOMETIMES IT REGISTERS A PERSON, SOMETIMES NOT. IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER WHAT TIME OF YEAR IT IS, OR THE TEMPERATURE IN THE CAR. SOMETIMES IT THINKS THAT MY WIFE (160 LBS) IS A CHILD AND DOESN'T TURN THE AIR BAG ON AND THEN IF WE HIT A BUMP (SOMETIMES WORKS) THEN IT MIGHT TURN IT ON. IT ALSO HAS TIMES THAT IT ALSO TURNS ON THE RED AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE DASH WHILE IT SAYS OFF FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG. YEARS AGO WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM, THEY SAID THEY ?FIXED IT? INITIALLY, BUT IT WAS JUST A SHORT TIME LATER IT DID IT AGAIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, HE HEARD A CLICK NEAR THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE HUBCAP WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE VALVE STEM, WEARING THE RUBBER DOWN TO THE METAL. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT THE OTHER TIRES EXHIBITED THE SAME DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. UPDATED 11/19/13*LJ ALL FOUR OF THE VALVE STEMS WERE WORN DOWN TO WHERE THE RUBBER WAS MOLDED. THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE TIRES.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LACROSSE CXL (NA). THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE TO ENTER BY USING THE KEY FOB WHEN HE NOTICED THAT THE DOOR REMAINED LOCKED. EVENTUALLY, HE WAS ABLE TO GET IN. HE THEN DROVE ABOUT 100 FEET AND ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE BOTH FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS REMAINED LOCKED. THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BY CLIMBING INTO THE BACK SEAT AND EXITING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. BOTH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. HOWEVER, THEY REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE MECHANISMS BUT DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING THE PARTS TO ARRIVE. IT HAD RAINED EARLIER IN THE DAY AND THE ROADS WERE STILL WET. I WAS TRAVELING 30 MPH IN A 40 MPH ZONE. I APPLIED MY BRAKES APPROX. 200 FEET PRIOR TO THE TRAFFIC AND STOP LIGHT. THE CAR SKIDDED. AT 150 FEET I BROKE HARDER AND THE ABS ENGAGED. THE HARDER I PUSHED THE MORE THE CAR SKIDDED. THE BRAKES NEVER STOPPED THE CAR -- IT ONLY SLOWED IT DOWN. THE ONLY TIME THE CAR STOPPED WAS WHEN IT HIT THE SUV IN FRONT OF IT, CAUSING $3,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO MY CAR. EITHER THE BRAKES DON'T WORK PROPERLY, OR THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TRACTION WITH THE TIRES.
