THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS STUCK AND WOULD NOT COME BACK UP, IT WAS FIXED AND TWO YEARS LATER BROKE AGAIN, AND THE REAR WINDOW ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DID THE SAME THING. THIS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER, IN THE MIDWEST, WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE TEENS. WE HAD TO DUCT-TAPE THE WINDOW CLOSED TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES. I CANNOT BELIEVE THE SAME CAR HAS HAD 3 ISSUES IN 2 YEARS WITH THE WINDOW MECHANISMS! SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG, AND IT HAS COST OVER $600 TO FIX THE CAR! THE REPAIRS DO NOT LAST. APPARENTLY THE MANUFACTURER USES CHEAP PLASTIC PARTS WHICH BREAK. ARE WE NEVER SUPPOSED TO USE AN ATM OR A DRIVE-THROUGH? WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR POWER WINDOW MOTORS. THE FIRST ONE, WE MADE THE MISTAKE OF TAKING IT TO A DEALER AND IT COST AROUND $400-$500. THE OTHERS WE ORDERED THE PART AND REPLACED IT OURSELVES WHICH COST AROUND $100-$150 DEPENDING ON THE WINDOW. NOW, THE ONE WE REPLACED TWO YEARS AGO IS BROKE AGAIN. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND USING THE HEADLIGHTS, THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT OPERATE UNLESS THE CONTACT HELD DOWN THE LEVER CONSTANTLY. ON JUNE 25, 2010 APPROX 8:30 PM OUR 2000 BUICK LESABRE WAS SITTING BY OUR HOUSE, NOT RUNNING, NO KEYS IN IT. WE HEARD A HUGE BANG/BACKFIRE. THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED SINCE 4:00 PM. WE SAW A HUGE AMOUNT OF SMOKE AND FIRE AS HIGH AS THE PORCH DECK ROOF. IMMEDIATELY CALLED 911. THE HOOD WAS BLOWN APART, THE WINDSHIELD BLOWN IN, REAR VIEW MIRROR & VISORS BLOWN OFF. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY TOTALED; EVERYTHING ON THE ENGINE MELTED, RADIATOR GONE, TIRES MELTED & TIRE RIMS LOOK LIKE THEY WERE BLOWN OUTWARD. IT WAS A VERY HUGE EXPLOSION & WE DID FIND THE ODI REPORT EA 02-030 FOR RECALLS #03034 & #03054 FOR EXPLOSIONS/FIRES IN THIS BUICK. THE RECALLS FOR OUR VEHICLE WERE COMPLETED AND DONE IN 2005 FOR THE ABOVE ITEMS OF "FUEL REGULATOR CAUSING DEFECTIVE/LEAKING FUEL REG ASM ETC. OR COOLANT CAUSING IMPROPERLY SEAL THROTTLE BODY" THIS VEHICLE WAS ALWAYS A GOOD RUNNING CAR WITH FEW PROBLEMS AND A CAR SHOULD NOT BLOW UP JUST SITTING STILL, SO OBVIOUSLY THE PROBLEMS WERE NOT SUFFICIENTLY CORRECTED. THE ONLY EVENT BEFORE THIS WAS THAT WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF AT 4:00PM THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCK WAS CLICKED AT THE SAME TIME AND WE HEARD A BIG CLUNK KIND OF SOUND. OUR MECHANICS WHO VIEWED THE VEHICLE AND ALL WHO SAW IT NEVER SAW SOMETHING THAT BAD AND ALL SAID THAT WE WOULD MOST LIKELY HAVE BEEN KILLED IF WE HAD BEEN IN THE CAR WHEN IT BLEW UP. THE VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY STILL SITTING IN THE EXACT SPOT WHERE IT BLEW UP AS REQUESTED BY GMC, BUT IT WILL NEED TO BE MOVED BEFORE SNOW PLOWING AS IT IS 6'6" FROM OUR HOUSE STEPS AND IS A HAZARD TO OUR RESIDENCE. WE TOLD GMAC THAT WE WOULD BE REMOVING IT BEFORE AUG. 30TH, HOWEVER, THEY HAVE NOT INSPECTED IT AS OF YET. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A STRANGE SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. HE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL AUTO SHOP. A PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN NOTICED THAT THE TREAD FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE HAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE. AS A RESULT, THE TREAD FROM THE TIRE BECAME TRAPPED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, WHICH DAMAGED THE ENGINE AND FUEL PUMP SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED AT THE COST OF $1,900. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2000 BUICK LESABRE LTD HOME FROM WORK AND HER BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN SHE TRIED TO STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. SHE WAS ABLE TO STOP, BUT THE BRAKES WERE BARELY THERE. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT, AND I CHECKED IT OUT WHEN SHE GOT HOME. I FOUND THAT THERE WAS ALMOST NO BRAKE FLUID LEFT IN THE RESERVOIR. I TOOK MY OTHER VEHICLE TO THE STORE AND BOUGHT SOME BRAKE FLUID AND REFILLED THE RESERVOIR AND CHECKED UNDER THE VEHICLE FOR LEAKS. I FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINES HAD ROTTED OUT IN THE CENTER OF THE VEHICLE BETWEEN THE REAR WHEELS, DIRECTLY BEHIND THE COMPRESSOR MOTOR FOR THE LOAD LEVELING SHOCKS THAT ARE ON THIS VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL BUICK DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY, AND THEY CONFIRMED WHAT I HAD FOUND, THAT THE REAR BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED AND ROTTED OUT. I ASKED ABOUT A SAFETY RECALL OR SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS ISSUE BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NONE. I FOUND IT VERY ODD THAT THERE WAS NO SIGNS OF CORROSION ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE OR ON THE BRAKE LINES OTHER THAN DIRECTLY BEHIND THE COMPRESSOR MOTOR FOR THE SHOCKS. ON DECEMBER 12, 2009, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN. AT THAT TIME, MY CAR MADE A LOUD NOISE (MY HUSBAND THOUGHT I RAN OVER A TRASH CAN) THE BRAKES IMMEDIATELY CAME ON AND THE CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT. I MOVED FORWARD AGAIN AND IMMEDIATELY THE BRAKES CAME ON AGAIN AND PULLED THE RIGHT. THE STABILITY SYSTEM ACTIVATED CAME ON. I HAD TO DRIVE VERY SLOW TO GET MY CAR HOME AND THIS HAPPENED THE WHOLE WAY. I WAS VERY CLOSE TO MY HOME. A COMPUTER HAS BEEN PUT ON THE CAR AND THE CODES DON'T MAKE SENSE TO THE MECHANIC. THE FAILURE RECURRED FREQUENTLY AND WOULD SHOW THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY WHEN IT WAS NOT AND IT WOULD DISPLAY FULL WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 16,000.

THE POWER WINDOW ON THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR POPPED AND QUIT WORKING. THIS IS THE SECOND WINDOW THAT HAS FAILED AND THE CAR HAS 85,000 MILES. THE FIRST FAILURE HAPPENED UNDER WARRANTY. POWER WINDOW ASSEMBLY ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR HAVE TO BE REPLACED FOR THE SECOND TIME AS THE CABLES BECOME ENTANGLED AND CAUSE THE MECHANISM TO BEND TO THE POINT WHERE IT WILL NO LONGER LIFT THE WINDOW. MARCH 30TH, 2007 CAR RAN ROUGH AND SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. A BAD ODOR ALSO WAS PERMEATING INTO THE CAR WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. CAR WENT BACK TO THE DEALER ON THE 31ST AND THEY HAD THE CAR UNTIL THE 3RD OF APRIL. I DROVE THE CAR ABOUT TWO MILES AND THE CAR DID EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS DOING BEFORE WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF. I DROPPED THE CAR BACK OFF THE NEXT DAY ON THE 4TH THEY HAD IT UNTIL SATURDAY THE 7TH. THEY SAID THEY CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND THAT WAS WHAT WAS WRONG. I started my car in the morning, per my usual routine. After a few seconds, I heard a very loud bang and the car stalled. A few seconds later, there was a large amount of smoke coming from under the hood. I opened the hood to see a large fire had started. My son, who heard the loud bang, came outside and saw the flames from under the hood. He ran into the house, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and attempted to put out the fire. He got the fire out but it was difficult. I had the car looked at by a mechanic and told me that the intake manifold had literally exploded. He has stated that he has never seen anything like this. It appears that the exploding manifold ruptured a fuel line. He told me there was a recall on this vehicle relating to a rupturing manifold and leaking fuel but that my vehicle had already had the recall performed. He thought that the new parts may be defective which is why I am reporting this incident.

I TOOK THIS CAR TO THE DEALER I PURCHED THE CAR FROM ON SEPT. 14, 2001. MR. JAY WAKEFIELD ,GENERAL MANAGER AND MR. TOM BERRY, SERVICE MANAGER ACKNOWLEDGED MY PROBLEM. HOWEVER, BOTH SAID THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER CARS. SO FAR THEY HAVE NOT FOUND THE SOLUTION. THEY ALSO SAID I WOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE MFG. NOTIFIES THEM WHAT TO DO. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR IN THIS CONDITION. the 2000 Buick Lesabre is a wonderful car basically a tank with the 3800 SERIES II you cant go wrong but the tiny little plastic part holding the throttle cable will dryrot even with a garage kept car under 150k miles please get them replaced I was driving and then the part came off and it got wrapped around the bracket and it took off I melted the breaks I wasn't stopping due to constant gas so I flipped in down into neutral to stop the vehicle from accelerating after i found a spot to pull it off the road but you can also put your foot under the peddle and pull up on it while pressing the breaks if you cant find a safe area while this is happening but i didnt relise it was happning until i hit 65 because the road i was on was a 55 and before i knew it i was going 90 luciky i live out in the rural areas

The plastic pice holding the throttle lines snapped off and my cable went under my bracket and it took off I destroyed the Transmission putting it in neutral to stop the vehicle after I had gotten it stoped the fire from the engine was small I will recommend this car and yes I do want another one but it is a common issue I will recomed this car because the body is made out of steel and they are basicly tanks with the 3800 Series II and it was easy for me to spot what was happening and get ahead of it before it got worse I drove 5 miles with this happening before the engine overheated and caught fire

The contact owns a 2000 Buick LeSabre. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40-45 MPH, the front end of the vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle at a slower speed. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic who diagnosed that the tie rod nuts had failed and the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 99V301000 (Steering). The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that they could not repair the vehicle under the recall because the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The contact also stated that the vehicle was experiencing the failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 04V090000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 139,000.

STARTING EARLY JUNE MY SON CALLED ME TO INFORM ME THAT THE BUICK WAS STALLING OUT ON HIM ALL THE TIME. HE SAID THAT HE COULD BE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND THE CAR WOULD JUST SHUT OFF, CAUSING ALL ELECTRICAL, STEERING, AND BRAKES TO NOT WORK. HE ATTENDS SCHOOL IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA IN THE MOUNTAINS AND THIS WORRIED ME. I HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED AND EACH TIME WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DIFFERENT THINGS AND NOTHING FIXED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE SINCE SWITCHED VEHICLES WITH HIM FOR HIS SAFETY AND HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL BUICK DEALERSHIP TO FIND THAT THE IGNITION CYLINDER IS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE THAT THE IGNITION CYLINDER IS PERIODICALLY LOOSING CONNECTION TO THE KEY WHICH HAS A CHIP IN IT (QUITS TALKING TO), AND SHUTS THE VEHICLE OFF. LIKE AN ALARM FEATURE. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THE LESABRE AND OTHER VEHICLES FOR QUITE A WHILE. IN ORDER TO FIX IT I WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW IGNITION CYLINDER, POSSIBLY A COUPLE OF KEYS, HAVE THEM SENT TO A LOCKSMITH, GET THEM KEYED TO THE CYLINDER, THEN INSTALL THE NEW IGNITION CYLINDER. YET IT IS NOT ONE OF THE VEHICLES LISTED ON THE GM IGNITION RECALL LIST. HOW CAN SUCH A SAFETY ISSUE GO OVERLOOKED AND ALSO UNREPORTED. THE VEHICLE IS AN EXCELLENT VEHICLE WHILE RUNNING BUT I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD FACE THE FACT AND TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR ALL OF THESE IGNITION FAILURES NOT JUST A FEW MAKES AND MODELS BUT ALL GM MANUFACTURED VEHICLES. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE, MY SON SAID HE WAS NEARLY REARENDED WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON HIM A NUMBER OF TIMES AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS WHILE TRYING TO PULL OFF THE ROAD FOR SAFETY. WHEN THE CAR WAS PURCHASED THERE WERE NO DASHPAD FLAWS. CAR WAS AND STILL IS GARAGE KEPT. THE DASHPAD HAS BEEN LIFTING ACROSS THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF THE PAD FROM FRONT TO REAR AND EXPOSING THE STRUCTURE UNDERNEATH. THIS CAR BEGAN TO SHOW SIGNS OF FRONT END WOBBLE A FEW MONTHS AGO. THIS MEANS IT FEELS LIKE THE WHEELS SHAKE FROM SIDE TO SIDE MOSTLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM 30 TO 45 MPH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ABOUT A MONTH AGO BUT HE SAID HE ONLY FELT IT ONE TIME WHILE DRIVING IT SEVERAL BLOCKS AROUND THE DEALERSHIP NEIGHBORHOOD. I TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE IMMEDIATELY AFTER I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY BALANCED THE BRIDGESTONE TIRES AND THE WOBBLE SEEMED TO BE LESSENED. I THEN TOOK IT HOME AND REPLACED THE REAR ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS AS THEY SEEMS TO VIBRATE WHEN WE PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS SEEMED TO HELP SMOOTH IT OUT AT THE TIME. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR SO SHE DRIVES IT AND IN LESS THAN A MONTH SHE SAID IT IS WOBBLING AGAIN. I DROVE IT AGAIN TONIGHT AND IT IS MUCH WORSE THAN BEFORE SO I BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS SUSPENSION. THIS CAR HAS BEEN UNDER A WARRANTY FROM WARRANTY WAREHOUSE FOR THE PAST SEVEN YEARS AND WE HAVE HAD SOME REPAIRS MADE AT THE DEALER AND EACH TIME WE ASK THEM TO CHECK THE FRONT END AS IT MADE GRINDING NOISES AND NEVER SEEMED TO HANDLE AS IT SHOULD. EACH TIME THE DEALER SAID IT WAS OK. THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH MANY REPORTS ON THE INTERNET REGARDING FRONT END ISSUES WITH BUICK LESABRES. WEATHER WAS BELOW ZERO (-20 TO -30) FOR SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE AND INCLUDING JANUARY 30, 2004. MY 2000 BUICK LESABRE CUSTOM REFUSED TO START TWO DAYS PREVIOUS, SO ON THE EVENING OF JANUARY 29, I POURED A BOTTLE OF ISO-HEET INTO THE GAS TANK AND THEN PLUGGED THE HEADBOLT HEATER IN OVERNIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING (JAN. 30), I GOT INTO THE LESABRE TO START IT TO GO TO WORK. WHEN I TURNED THE KEY, I HEARD A CLICK AND THEN BOOM! IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING HAD EXPLODED UNDER THE HOOD ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. SMOKE BEGAN ROLLING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I GRABBED MY BELONGINGS AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR QUICKLY. I WAS SHOCKED, BUT NOT HURT. I HEARD A NOISE UNDER THE HOOD LIKE THE DRAFT FROM A FIRE. I CALLED 911 AND STOOD BACK ABOUT 40 FEET FROM THE VEHICLE. BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED, THERE WERE FLAMES LEAPING OUT 5 FEET HIGH FROM THE SPACE BETWEEN THE HOOD AND THE FENDER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE FIRE MARSHALL INSPECTED THE DAMAGE AFTERWARDS. HE SAID THAT IT APPEARED THAT A FUEL LINE HAD RUPTURED. THAT IS ALL HE SAID. THAT DOES NOT EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT EXPLODED. THE BATTERY ON A 2000 LESABRE IS UNDER THE BACK SEAT, AND IT WAS INTACT AFTER THE FIRE. THE FIRE FIGHTERS HAD REMOVED THE BACK SEAT AND CUT THE BATTERY CABLES, SO I SAW THAT IT WAS OKAY. THE WHOLE ENGINE WAS BURNED UP. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS. I LOST TWO DAYS OF WORK MAKING ARRANGEMENTS TO BUY ANOTHER CAR. THE INSURANCE COMPANY ONLY PAID ME $10,998.00 FOR THE LOSS. COOLANT LEAKAGE FROM COOLANT RESEVOIR INTO AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT ENGINE COOLANT DRAWN INTO CYLYNDER HEAD CAN HAVE NUMEROUS RESULTS DAMAGING TO THE OPERATION AND LONGEVITY OF THE ENGINE. FURTHER THE LOSS OF COOLANT FORM THE RESEVOIR CAN RESULT IN INADEQUATE ENGINE COOLING AND HIGH AND DESTRUCTIVE ENGINE TEMPERATURES. WHILE THERE WAS NO OBSERVED EVIDENCE OF COOLANT LOSS BEFORE GMC RECALL TO "TIGHTEN THROTTLE BODY BOLTS", THE LOSS OF COOLANT ACCELERATED AFTER THE UNSUCCESSFUL EFFORT TO ELIMINATE COOLANT LOSS. THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE EARLY IN 2000 MODEL OF THE BUICK LESABERS IS EVIDENCED BY COMPLAINTS AND SERVICE REPORTS. THE RECALL PROGRAM OF SUMMER 2003 WAS AN INADEQUATE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. IN ADDITION TO THIS HISTORY, THE EXISTANCE OF LONG STANDING PROBLEM IS CONFIRMED BY GMC'S RECALL IN THE SUMMER OF 2003. MY COMPLAINT IS HEIGHTENED BY THE FACT THAT BOTH THE DEARLER AND GM REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE THE COOLANT LOSS OBSERVED AFTER THE RECALL AS A PART OF THE RECALL AND USED THE EXPIRY OF MY ORIGINAL WARRANTY AFTER THE RECALL ANNOUNCEMENT AND ALSO AFTER THE COMPLETION OF RECALL SERVICING WITHOUT FULLY CHARGING ME FOR THE INVESTIGATION AND REQUIRED REMEDIAL WORK TO RESOLVE THE COOLANT LEAKAGE MALFUNCTION. SAFETY BELT ON DRIVER SIDE SOMETIMES FAILS TO LATCH BECAUSE THE LATCH MECHANISM FAILS TO RETURN TO ITS PROPER LOCATION INSIDE THE LATCH HOUSING. I HAVE TO PRESS AND HOLD THE LATCH AND THEN USE A BUTTER KNIFE TO POP THE LATCH BACK OUT SO THAT IT WILL LATCH PROPERLY. THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR POWER WINDOW JUST STARTED SLIDING DOWN THE TRACK ONE DAY AND NOW WILL NOT GO UP OR DOWN USING THE SWITCH. I'VE HAD TO SLIDE IT UP INTO PLACE AND THE TAPE IT SHUT WITH PACKAGE SEALING TAPE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW SOMETIMES FAILS TO GO UP OR DOWN WHEN I PRESS THE WINDOW DOWN BUTTON. THEN LATER IT WILL RESPOND APPROPRIATELY. JOHNSON MOTORS REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDOW MOTOR LAST YEAR WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN TO HAVE IT SERVICED AND HAVE SOME SCRATCHES BUFFED OUT THAT HAD BEEN THERE WHEN I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE WINDOWS ARE A VERY REAL PROBLEM BUT THE SEAT BELT LATCH FAILURE IS A REAL LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION.*AK

I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS GOING DIM AND THEN BRIGTHEN BACK UP. THE CONTROLS WOULD ALSO GET HOT. I CALL MR. CARL CHIPMAN AT THE GO AUTOMOTIVE AND INFORMED HIM THAT I FELT THAT THERE WAS A SHORTAGE OF SOME KIND. THEY HAD A SUNROOF PUT IN AND I WASN'T SURE IT THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN CAUSE BY THIS TOP. MR. CHIPMAN DID RIDE THE CAR DOWN THE ROAD AND IT DID NOT DO IT WITH HIM. HE STATED THAT THE CONTROLS BEING HOT WAS JUST BECAUSE IT WAS THAT TIME OF YEAR AND THE WEATHER. I TOLD HIM THAT THEY WOULD BE HOT TO THE TOUCH. I WAS ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE SEAT BELT NOT HOOKING AND THEY ORDERED A PIECE AND I TOOK THE CAR IN ON 6/23/99. MR. CHIPMAN TOLD ME TO JUST KEEP AN EYE ON THINGS. THINGS DID NOT GET WORSE UNTIL THE WHOLE CONTROL PANEL STOPPED WORKING ON 7/1/01. MY CAR WAS NEVER PUT ON THE MACHINE AND BUICK IS TELLING ME THAT SINCE I DID NOT HAVE MY CAR SERVICE WITH A DEALER THAT THEY WON'T COVER ANY OF THR BILL. THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT $700.00 TO REPLACE THE CONTROL PANEL BECAUSE IT HAS SHORTED OUT.

AT THE FIRST FILLING OF GAS TANK, FUEL CAME OUT OF BAD GASKET AND SPILLED FUEL CAUSING WICKED BAD FUEL SMELL THROUGH OUT INTERIOR OF CAR. HEATER HAS NEVER OPERATED PROPERLY. THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU CAN BE COMFORTABLE IN COLD WEATHER IS TO OPERATE MANUALLY. THE ALTERNATOR HAS ALWAYS HAD A VERY NOTICEABLE AND ANNOYING HUM AT SLOW SPEEDS. THE ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE, WITH NO IMPROVEMENTS IN THE NOISES. POWER ASSIST FAILED AND AS A RESULT I LOST ALL BRAKING AND A STRONG ODOR DEVELOPED INSIDE THE CAR. THIS IS OK NOW AND ALONG WITH THE GAS TANK IS THE ONLY THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN REPAIRED.
