WE HAVE HAD ALL 4 OF OUR WINDOW REGULATORS REPLACED ON OUR 2001 BUICK LESABRE WITHIN A MONTH OF EACH OTHER. THE WINDOWS FALL DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. IT HAS COST US $200 EACH TO HAVE THEM REPLACED. I PERSONALLY WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER BUICK IF THIS IS THE WAY GM HANDLES THINGS. ALSO, THE DASHBOARD SKIN HAS PEELED AWAY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND SLOWLY PROCEEDING TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. *TT

NOTICED WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR IN 2009 WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A USED DEALERSHIP. A SMALL PIECE OF THE DASH WAS PEELING UP. DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT AT THE TIME BUT DASH HAS PRETTY MUCH LIFTED FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE PASSENGERS SIDE. A LITTLE WORRIED THAT THE PASSENGERS AIRBAG MAY GO OFF.READ MANY FORUMS WHERE OTHERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THERE DASH DOING THE SAME THING. WHILE DRIVING THE 2001 BUICK LESABRE HOME THE CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A HIGH PITCH WHINE AND GRINDING NOISE. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAR WOULD NOT GO FORWARD OR BACKWARD. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO TRANSMISSION SHOP, AND I LEARNED THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. I WAS TOLD IT WAS METAL FATIGUE, AND WHEN ONE OF PARTS BROKE IT DESTROYED THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. SEVERAL TIMES BEGINNING IN APPROXIMATELY MARCH 2015, MY CAR BEGAN TO STALL WHILE AT SIGNAL. ONE TIME THE CAR QUIT WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE LEFT REAR WINDOW REGULATOR WAS NOT WORKING. THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAID SHE HAD A MECHANIC "FIX" IT SO IT WOULD NOT FALL DOWN, AS DEALER WANTED $500. SHE ALSO SAID SHE HAD REPLACED THE RIGHT PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR. SINCE I HAVE HAD IT (ABOUT A YEAR), THE RIGHT REAR REGULATOR HAS QUIT. I ALSO PAID A MECHANIC TO "FIX" IT SO IT WOULDN'T FALL DOWN. WE DO NOT USE THE BACK SEAT. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT 45 MILES PER HOUR WHEN MY BUICKS AIR BAG DEPLOYED FOR NO GOOD REASON AND CAUSED ME TO REAR END A FELLOW EMPLOYEE AT A LIGHT. I WAS DUMBFOUNDED BY THE ACCIDENT AND WAS WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED BECAUSE I RECALLED NO RED LIGHT OR SEEING BRAKE LIGHTS. I AM SO HAPPY THAT MY FELLOW EMPLOYEE ARE NOT DETRIMENTALLY INJURED BY THIS. THE BAG APPARENTLY SHOCKED ME AND THE DASHBOARD BLINDED ME SO I HAD NO WAY TO REACT.. I SURE HOPE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS ADDRESS TO THE FULLEST EXTENT. The contact owned a 2001 Buick Lesabre. The contact stated that while driving at 20 MPH, the vehicle stalled upon the depression of the accelerator without warning. The contact stated that a black smoke began to emit from the engine as he was able to pull into an independent mechanic shop. The contact immediately exited the vehicle as flames began to emit from the vehicle's engine. Employees from the independent mechanic attempted to assist with the fire as the fire department was called to the scene. Police and fire arrived at the scene as the fire department was able to extinguish the fire. A police report was filed and the contact was given a police report number(#C221CR384628). No injuries were reported and no medical assistance was needed. The vehicle remained in the possession of the independent mechanic where it was deemed a total loss. The vehicle was eventually towed to an independent junk yard and destroyed. The dealer nor the manufacturer have yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 191,900.

Turned the key in ignition just past click and heard a loud bang in engine under hood. I looked under the car and seen flames. Within 18 minutes the whole car was in totally on fire. The volunteer fire department came and put it out. We did a search on the internet and discovered we are not the only ones to experience this.

THEY WERE ALL INSIDE MY MOM'S HOUSE WHEN THEY HEARD AND EXPLOSION. AFTER LOOKING OUTSIDE, THEY SEEN THE CAR ON FIRE. THEY ARE LUCKY TO BE HERE. ITS A MIRACLE. YOUR COMPANY SHOULD HAVE TO COMPENSATE THEM FOR MALFUNCTIONING PARTS.

THE DASH PAD ON MY 2001 BUICK LE SABRE HAS SEPARATED AND BUCKLED UP APPROXIMATELY SIX INCHES IN HEIGHT AND MOSTLY IN FRONT OF MY STEERING WHEEL, HOWEVER IT IS LIFTED 3/4 OF THE WAY ACROSS THE ENTIRE DASH. I AM REPORTING WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE A SAFETY DEFECT IN THE 2001 BUICK LASABRE. TONIGHT MY HUSBAND'S BUICK LASABRE WAS PARKED ON AN UPHILL SLOPE. HE POPPED THE TRUNK AND IT WENT UP WHEN HE POPPED IT (AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO). OUR BUICK HAD BEEN RUNNING FINE, BUT WENT TO MOVE IT ONE MORNING. WITH A COLD ENGINE, AS SOON AS WE HIT THE STARTER, THE ENGINE EXPLODED VERY LOUDLY AND STARTED BURNING. AFTER THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENTIRE INTAKE MANIFOLD, ALONG WITH THE FUEL LINES HAD EXPLODED IN MANY PIECES. FROM INTERNET RESEARCH, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR HAD A RECALL FOR VEHICLE YEARS '98-'00, WHICH THESE MODELS HAD THE SAME CONDITION. HAD I HAD THE HOOD OPEN AT THE TIME, I'D PROBABLY BEEN HURT BY FLYING CHUNKS FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHICH COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED BODILY HARM, EVEN FROM FIRE TO THE PASSENGERS INSIDE.

I JUST FOUND OUT THE GM KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THE DEX COOLANT FOR A LONG TIME AND DIDN'T LET ANYONE KNOW. I CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER A SCHEPEL BILL AND TALKED TO HIM AND HE SAID THAT HE NEVER HEARD OF THIS AND NEITHER DID GM. ITS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. HE LIED TO ME. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 65000 MILES AFTER HAVING ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED ONCE. INITIALLY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY TRIED TO BLAME ME FOR THE FAILURE BUT AFTER DEALER DISASSEMBLED TRANSMISSION FOR INSPECTION IT WAS COVERED. ALSO, HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD, RADIO AND STEERING WHEEL CONSTANTLY FAILING, 2 WINDOWS HAVE FAILED IN THE OPEN POSITION, THE DRIVERS SIDE HEATED SEAT STOPPED WORKING AT 50,000 MILES. THE ONLY THING THAT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED IS THE HEATED SEAT. DEALER SAYS IT COSTS TOO MUCH TO FIX. I BOUGHT THE BEST EXTENDED WARRANTY THE DEALER OFFERED AND STILL HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET THINGS FIXED. WHILE MAKING A SUDDEN STOP, CONSUMER NOTICED DRIVER'S SEAT MOVED FORWARD WHILE TURNING CORNERS. CONSUMER HEARD A POPPING NOISE, SEAT MOVING SIDE TO SIDE. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS A HARSH DOWN SHIFT WHEN MERGING ON TO A FREEWAY OR GOIND UP A HILL. SHIFTS DOWN TO LOWER GEAR. THE SOLENOID WAS REPLACED AND THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE WAS UPDATED BUT DID NOT CORRECT THE HARSH ENGAGEMENT. ONCE IN A WHILE THE HARSH ENGAGEMENT HAPPENS WHEN GOING FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE. THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS FLUSHED DUE TO SEDIMENT. THE REAR BRAKES STILL MOAN AND ARE SQUEAKY AT LOW SPEEDS. THEY WERE HOSED OFF TO REMOVE THE EXCESS BRAKE DUST FORM THE ROTORS. SINCE BUYING THE CAR IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MORE THAN OUT, HAVE HAD PROBLEMS TRAVELING OUT OF TOWN RUINED TWO TRIPS. THE WINDOW WIPERS WERE DISCONNECTED, ALTERNATOR OUT, TRANSMISSION OUT, DASH RATTLES, MOTOR UNDER DRIVERS SEAT IS LOOSE, AND THE AIR CONDITIONER MAKES A HIGH WHINE.
