2nd bad headlamp assembly that develops moisture and causes lamp to go out. First was passenger side now driver side

The driver headlight assembly has water in it and unable to fix it without replacing whole assembly that can be as much as $1500. The light bulb and valance was replaced. The valance was filled with water. The headlight still wouldn’t work. Upon further investigation there is a part sealed into the assembly that also has water in it with no way to get it out or replace. This is a safety risk since i am unable to see on driver side in dark without my light. There are no recalls but have found many complaints on same issue. The part water is in is sealed and shouldn’t have a way for to get in. The only fix is replacing entire assembly. I have no light at all on that side until fixed.

I previously reported an issue with a he condensation in the driver side headlight which every one of these models with the hid headlights has this issue. Now it is becoming a safety issue as both headlights are doing it and are randomly going off while driving I almost hit a telephone pole with my infant in the car this is an extremely common issue with these vehicles and Buick has no fix they even stopped producing the replacement headlights this is an extremely dangerous issue I’ve made both nhsta and Buick aware of these issues and if nothings done to rectify them and something happens I will pursue legal action

The driver side headlamp assembly has a faulty seal which allows water to leak inside the housing under normal daily conditions. When this happens the water leaks down through the assembly where the headlight ballast is mounted, causing water to collect in the ballast, and killing it (making the headlight go out) as well as the electrical components that power the L.E.D. daytime running lights also making those stop functioning. There is no quick and easy fix for this, as the headlamp assembly must be replaced to restore the headlight because even replacing the burned out ballast will only provide light temporarily again until that too is again destroyed by water. Because there is no good alternative available with an aftermarket replacement, I was forced to purchase an entirely new assembly which cost $1,505 and took months to save and be able to afford. This is a manufacturing flaw that should have been recalled and addressed. My warranty does not cover any damage due to water, so I had to pay for this myself, along with many many other people with the same issue. Having my headlight randomly stop working was a dangerous situation to be put into.

Engine used oil with no smoke or leaks. Had to change oil every 2300 miles. Motor went bad do to no oil even after oil change.

No warning and approximately 80,000 miles -the timing needs replaced. Mechanics state this is common with this model and they recommend a new engine replace the original engine. This car has under 100,000 miles on it. The cost of the repair is out of my means. The car is paid off, however, I cannot afford the repair. Is there anything that can be done?

FOR THE PAST YEAR MY VEHICLE IS CONSUMING A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL. I HAVE TO ADD 2.5 QUARTS AFTER 1500 MILES OR SO. GENERAL MAINTENANCE IS ALWAYS DONE. IT WILL STALL AT STOP LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS. WE HAVE CHANGED THE CAM SHIFT SENSORS AND SOLENOIDS DUE TO THE CODES THROWN. MY VEHICLE IS STILL USING 4 QUARTS BEFORE 3,000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN AT A STOP LIGHT ON HIGHWAY 34 AND MY CAR JUST STOPPED WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE. I WAS IN PEORIA AT A STOP LIGHT GOING UP HILL AND MY CAR STALLED 4 TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO START. AT ROUTINE OIL CHANGE APPOINTMENT (71000 MILES) PLUS MY CONCERN TO CHECK OUT A NOISE DURING COLD STARTUPS, BUICK DEALERSHIP TECH NOTED NO OIL ON DIPSTICK. THEY RECOMMENDED OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, DISCUSSED POSSIBLE NEED TO REPLACE PISTONS @ $3200 AND TOLD ME TO RETURN IN 1000 MILES TO REASSESS. ON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS LIT (NO WARNINGS/LIGHTS/ DRIVING PERFORMANCE ISSUES PRIOR TO LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THAT DAY), I IMMEDIATELY TURNED AROUND AND THEY RE-RAN DIAGNOSTIC SCREEN, REPORTED TO ME THAT IT REPORTED NOTHING DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE RUN EARLIER THAT DAY, TOLD ME AGAIN TO RETURN IN 1000 MILES. APPROX 100 MILES LATER, MY ENGINE SUFFERED CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE, LEAVING ME STRANDED AT A STOPLIGHT INTERSECTION. I HAVE DONE OIL CHANGES ALWAYS AS RECOMMENDED BY ONBOARD MONITORING SYSTEM. SEEMS THAT MAYBE THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL OR CONSUMER ALERT ISSUED ON THIS LONGSTANDING ISSUE FOR THESE GM CARS, NOT JUST A CLANDESTINE BULLETIN THAT ONLY NOTIFIED DEALERS OF THIS PROBLEM FOR VEHICLES WITH LONG OIL CHANGE INTERVAL RECOMMENDATIONS. THE DEALER (FREMONT CHEVROLET BUICK GMC, 1401 N FEDERAL BLVD, RIVERTON, WY 82501, (307) 240-3110) DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TOOK PICTURES OF THE FAILURE, WHICH SHOWED THAT A BOLT FRACTURED AND IMPACTED THE ENGINE AND BRAKING SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY SIX MONTHS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.

There is a water seal leak around the driver side headlight. I have photos showing proof of standing water. It has now caused the headlight, left turn signal, and drivers side brake light to fail. My passenger side headlight is doing the same. I have no headlights, no driverside lights period. I drive 2 children around in this car and it's gotten very dangerous. I contacted GM, and the local dealership and they won't fix it. I'm a [XXX] and don't have the $3200-$5000 I was told the repair would be. It is a problem in certain GM models, Cadillac Srx 2010-2015 having the same issue and the recall being fixed for those drivers. So, I have no choice but to drive around with no headlights, no left blinker, and no driver side brake light with two you children. I have to work and have no other options. It's a catastrophe waiting to happen, I live in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia. Please help me with this, I am terrified to drive this car around. I've had two people flag me down at a red light to let me know my brake light is out which is terribly dangerous and if it starts raining while I am out I have no headlights. This has become an emergency situation for me and my children. I have photo proof of the water pooling inside the headlight assembly. The seal is so bad that even covered the condensation pools inside the headlight. Please help me get a dealership to fix this issue. They want to charge me $275 for diagnostics and this is already and issue on this model car, reported by many drivers with the recall on the Cadillac. They need to fix it before I end up a casualty to this problem. Thank you so much. I can send a video of the emergency flasher and signal not working. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 7 MARCH 2012 AND SHORTLY AFTERWARDS I WAS CHECKING IT OVER AND SAW THAT THE BACK OF THE HEADLINER WAS HANGING DOWN ABOUT AN INCH OR SO. I TOOK IT INTO THE THE GARAGE WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THEY HAD THEIR REPAIR PERSON CHECK IT OUT. THEY FIRST TRIED TO USE DOUBLE SIDED STICKY TAPE AND IT DID NOT WORK SO THEY WENT TO THE HEAD OFFICE OF BUICK TO TRY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ON 10 APRIL I TOOK THE CAR BACK IN AND THEIR FIX WAS TO STICK SMALL MAGNETS TO THE ROOF AND ALSO TO THE HEADLINER AND THEN SNAP THE MAGNETS TOGETHER. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY MAGNETS THEY USED BUT THE HEADLINER IS LOOKING OK FOR NOW. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THIS FIX WILL LAST OR IF THE HEADLINER SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE INTERIOR CENTER CONSOLE HAS A BRUSHED CHROME TRIM AROUND THE OUTSIDE AND A MIRROR FINISH CHROME BEZEL DIRECTLY SURROUNDING THE GEAR SHIFTER. I FIRST REALIZED IT TO BE A CONCERN WHEN I WAS DRIVING DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN, AND THE SUNLIGHT REFLECTED OFF THE MIRROR IMAGE CHROME BEZEL, UNDER MY DARK SUNGLASSES, AND DIRECTLY INTO MY EYES, MOMENTARILY BLINDING ME. AS SOON AS I REALIZED WHERE THE BLINDING LIGHT CAME FROM I REMOVED MY RIGHT HAND FROM THE STEERING WHEEL TO BLOCK AS MUCH OF THE GLARING LIGHT AS POSSIBLE. I HAD TO KEEP MY HAND IN THE SAME POSITION UNTIL I TURNED, AND THE SUNLIGHT NO LONGER REFLECTED OFF THE CHROME BEZEL. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DOORS FAILED TO UNLOCK WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL AND AS A RESULT, SHE HAD TO USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT DECIDED TO REPROGRAMMED THE VEHICLE COMPUTER SYSTEM AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION. The alternator was just replaced 2 weeks after this same full loss of electrical power was diagnosed when going to start the car while parked. The battery was fully recharged at the repair shop and deemed ok. I had my road service come out to address the issue. Before they arrived, I was able to restart the car. The service tech checked the battery and alternator. Both checked ok, but the battery was almost drained and did not show signs of any dead cells, despite it having been able to restart the car shortly before the road service arrived. We replaced the battery. Car is in the shop now. The safety risk is full loss of power while moving resulting in no brake lights, 4 way emergency lights, full stall, loss of power steering and brakes that can lead to a collision on the highway. ON DECEMBER 12, 2012 , SHORTLY AFTER SUNSET, MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING ON A RURAL ROAD AT ABOUT 30 MPH. I WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I REACHED OVER TO SWITCH THE RADIO FROM SIRIUS TO FM, BUT INADVERTENTLY HIT THE ENGINE ON/OFF BUTTON, LOCATED ABOUT 2 CM FROM THE RADIO BUTTON. WHEN I HIT THE BUTTON, THE ENGINE WENT OFF, WE LOST ALL INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL LIGHTS, AND THE CAR SLOWED DRAMATICALLY. IT WAS TERRIFYING. WE MANAGED TO PULL THE CAR TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. HAD WE BEEN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, A MAJOR COLLISION AND PILE-UP LIKELY WOULD HAVE FOLLOWED. WHEN WE REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT INITIALLY CLAIMED THE CAR'S INTERNAL CONTROLS WOULD PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM TURNING OFF WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING BUT SUBSEQUENT DEALER TESTS DISCLOSED EVEN A SLIGHT TOUCH OF THE POWER BUTTON SHUT OFF ALL POWER. I REPORTED IT TO BUICK AND BUICK ASKED THE DEALER TO RECONFIRM THE TESTS, WHICH IT DID. THE DEALERSHIP SEEMED VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY PROBLEM BUT SAID BUICK NEEDED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the body control module. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V093000 (Exterior Lighting), but the VIN was not included. The headlight area had condensation in it that resulted in water in the headlight. This caused the headlight to go dark. This is a safety issue as one of my headlights is not working. I can’t see that section of the road or adjacent sidelines. Very dangerous particularly at this time of year with deer running into road from the side. There are many other regal owners with this problem which can be verified by googling the problem. This is the second time the light has failed for condensation. Other drivers and pedestrians are at risk because they cannot be seen with the headlight out. Headlight was replaced once and has failed again. Cost to repair 2 years ago $1600 new estimate $1800. This is for one headlight but recommended to replace both.

TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER ON JAN 16, 2015 AND ALL THEY DID WAS GIVE US A COPY OF GM'S CORPORATE BULLETIN 03-07-29-004I: MANUAL TRANSMISSION OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS (DEC 19, 2014). THIS DOCUMENT TOLD US TO SHIFT SLOWLY IN COLD WEATHER, BUT THEN WE CANNOT SHIFT IT AT ALL. TOOK VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER ON FEB 20, 2015. THE SERVICE MANAGER TEST DROVE IT AND AGREED THERE WAS A SHIFTING ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS MUCH EASIER TO SHIFT. UNFORTUNATELY, WE NOW HAVE A VIBRATION IN 2ND GEAR. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DECELERATING FROM 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY JERKED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT DEALERS. THE FIRST DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHILE THE SECOND STATED THAT THE SHIFT ADAPTER NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE WORSENED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT THE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I FOUND THERE IS NO COMPACT SPARE TIRE AND WHEELS FOR THE GRAND SPORT VERSION OF THE 2012 BUICK REGAL ANYWHERE I COULD FIND. THEY ONLY PROVIDE AN INFLATER KIT. MY LAST 3 FLATS COULD NOT BE REPAIRED WITH THE INFLATER BECAUSE OF THE TYPE DAMAGE. NO WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION THAT I HAVE OBTAINED STATED THIS FACT. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE HAVE FAMILY IN THE MIDDLE OF PENNSLYVANIA AND HAVE TO TRAVEL THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS WHERE THERE IS NO CELL PHONE CONDUCTIVITY (THAT ELIMINATES THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE) A REGULAR TRIP IS FOR THANKSGIVING AND WE HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME EXTREME WEATHER DURING SOME OFF THESE TRIPS WITH MINIMAL TRAFFIC DUE TO THE WEATHER. THEREFORE WE COULD HAVE A FLAT AND BE STRANDED DURING A SNOW STORM. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION.. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR STICKER, LOCATED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR, SPECIFIED TO INFLATE THE TIRES TO 80 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER, WHO STATED THAT THE TIRE LABEL INFORMATION WAS INCORRECT AND THE CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE WAS 38 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE VEHICLE WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220.
