LOOKED DOWN TO CHECK MY SPEED AND IT REGISTERED 30 MPH. I KNOW I WAS GOING FASTER THAN THAT AS I WAS DRIVING ON A 55 MPH HIGHWAY. FROM THAT TIME IT VARIED CONSIDERABLY, AT TIMES SHOWING 0 MPH WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD. TODAY IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING AGAIN. IN RESEARCHING I'VE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT IF YOUR VEHICLE HAS MORE THAN 70,000 MILES IT WAS NOT COVERED IN A RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM. MY GRANDSON AND I WERE SHOPPING, THEN I FILLED MY GAS TANK. WE THEN WENT INTO THE GROCERY STORE CAME OUT, SMELLED GAS AND LOOKED UNDER CAR. IT IS LEAKING GAS, WE HURRIED HOME--WENT FROM FULL TANK TO 1/4 FULL TANK IN 58 MILES. IT IS SITTING AND NOT DRIVEN. AND I HAVE A 2003 RENDEZVOUS THAT HAS A GAS SMELL THAT IS VERY STRONG BUT HASN'T LEADED OUT GAS YET.

THE CONTACT THEN CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER (BUICK GMC OF KIRKLAND, 12335 120TH AVE NE, KIRKLAND, WA, 98034) WHERE AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A FRACTURE WITHIN THE FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 03V454000 (FUEL SYSTEM) OR 07V349000 (FUEL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-34895551467. THE CASE WAS ESCALATED, BUT THE MANUFACTURER DENIED THE CLAIM AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT NOR WAS THE VEHICLE INCLUDED IN THE PRIOR RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,100.

It is an unfortunate fact that since moving to area Federal Hill this vehicle and driver has been illegally surveillanced the car has been broken into with no signs of forced entry. As usual the billboard is visible for locals to observe. My only issue is waiting to act. The vehicle is legal with no visible or internal issues. I drive the vehicle at a safe speed to avoid traffic accidents. There was a state inspection failure with no real reason, another issue. Cars have specifically attempted to run me off the road. From BWI to Downtown Baltimore.

I HAD ABOUT $1700 WORTH OF WORK DONE TO THE UNDERNEATH OF MY VEHICLE... THE LIGHTS SUCH AS SERVICE ENGINE SOON AND ABS KEEP COMING ON... I HAD TO PUT MY BRAKES ON AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES CAME ON AND I TRIED TO PRESS ON THE GAS TO GO AND IT CUT THE POWER DRASTICALLY ON ME LITTLE TO NONE BUT IF I LIFT MY FOOT BACK UP AND I TRY TO START AGIAN IT ALLOWS ME TO DRIVE BUT THEN IF I NEED TO GO UP A HILL OR PASS SOMEONE IT LOSES THE POWER WHEN I PUT THE GAS PEDAL MORE THAN A 3RD OF THE WAY DOWN. AND IT WILL NOT STOP DOING THIS.. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED AS NO MECHANIC SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS AND I LIVE ON A FIXED INCOME AND NEED MY CAR TO GET AROUND.

REAR HATCH ASSIST STRAP HAS BEEN REPLACED FOR THE 3RD TIME. EACH TIME TIME STRAP HAS BROKEN UNEXPECTEDLY CAUSING THE PERSON TO LOSE HIS BALANCE AND FALL.

I PARKED MY CAR IN A LOT. 2 HOURS LATER, I WENT TO START IT AND IT WOULDN'T EVEN TURN OVER . SOMEONE GAVE ME A JUMP START AND IT STARTED IMMEDIATELY. A FEW HOURS LATER, SAME THING. NIX MORNING HOWEVER, IT STARTED FINE. BATTERY WAS TESTED AND WORKS NORMAL. REPLACED STARTER AND CYLANOID. SAME PROBLEM AND NOTHING CHANGED. I DECIDED TO CHECK THE FUSES. ALL OF THEM OK. I FOUND THAT IF I REMOVE ONE OF THE FUSES AND USE A PAPER CLIP IN 2 OF THE 4 OPENINGS, IT STARTS THE CAR IN THE ON POSITION. SECURITY LIGHT COMES ON TOO.

THE FUEL LINE RUNMIG FROM THE ENGINE TO THE FUEL FILTER GOT A SLOW LEAK IN IT, FILLED THE INSIDE OF THE SUV WITH FUMES AND WE HAD TO PULL OVER TO AIR OUT THE CAR THEN THE FUEL LINE SPLIT AND FELL OFF AND GAS SPILLED OUT AND OVERCOME THE INSIDE OF THE CAR WITH FUMES. WHEN REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY, THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THE LINE ACCUMULATED EXCESSIVE MOISTURE AND HEAT AND CAUSED IT TO BREAK WHEN IT GOT HOT SEVERAL TIMES.

I PURCHASED A 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS FROM A CAR DEALERSHIP, 2 CAR GUYS LLC, IN YORK, PA ON 7/10. AT THE TIME I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE PURCHASE WITH THE LOW STICKER PRICE OF 4K, LOW MILEAGE OF 68K, AND THE 5/18 INSPECTION. THE CAR, AFTER CHECKING THE ENGINE AND FRAME, ITSELF SEEMED TO BE IN DECENT CONDITION AND I BROUGHT IT HOME THAT DAY. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE CAR FOR TWO WEEKS AND EVEN MADE A LONG TRIP TO ALTOONA, PA WITH MY FAMILY. THEN EARLIER THIS WEEK I NOTICED SOME ISSUES WITH THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE BRAKE. I TOOK IT IN TO MR. TIRE ON 7/26 FOR A BRAKE EXAMINATION. THE TECHNICIANS AT MR. TIRE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES AND EVEN MENTIONED THAT THEY WERE NEW. I WANTED THEM TO TEST DRIVE IT DOUBLE CHECK AND THEN AFTER THEY RETURNED THEY THOUGHT MAYBE A CALIBER WAS LOCKING UP ON IT. SO THEY LIFTED THE CAR AGAIN AND REALIZED THAT THE FRAME ITSELF WAS EXPANDING. SO THEY STUCK IT ON A LARGER LIFT TO ENSURE THAT THAT FRAME WOULD BE SHREDDED. THE LEAD TECHNICIAN BROUGHT ME OUT TO LOOK AT THE FRAME ITSELF. BOTH SIDES OF THE FRAME HAD BEEN FILLED WITH FOAM INSULATION AND THEN SPRAY PAINTED WITH BLACK PAINT TO MATCH THE FRAME. SOMEONE HAD WENT TO A LOT OF EFFORT MASK THE ERODED FRAME. THE GUYS FROM MR. TIRE MENTIONED THAT NO WAY THAT COULD PASS A STATE INSPECTION LOOKING LIKE THAT. I LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE CAR AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE AND WAS UNABLE TO SEE THE CAMOUFLAGED RUST. THREE TECHNICIANS WERE UNDER THAT CAR THE FIRST TIME THE BUICK WAS LIFTED OFF THE GROUND AND DID NOT NOTICE THE "SLIDE OF HAND". I WOULD HAVE NEVER EVEN TEST DRIVEN THE CAR WITH MY SON KNOWING THAT IT WAS UNSAFE FOR THE ROAD.

(1) I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON JULY 30,2004. THE PROBLEM SHOWED UP ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE SELLING DEALER, TEAM CHEV, BUICK, CADILLAC INC. WHEN I MADE A SHARP LEFT TURN FROM ONE ROAD TO ANOTHER. AFTER I MADE THE TURN THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT RETURN TO CENTER POSITION,AND I CAME TO A STOP BECAUSE I WAS SURPRISED BY THE STRONG LEFT PULL. (2) THIS IS AS PLAIN AS I CAN DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM. THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING CORRECTLY. WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READ ANYWHERE BETWEEN BELOW 0 MPH AND 30 MPH. IT HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES THAT THE SPEEDOMETER IS WORKING CORRECTLY, (CONFIRMED BY CALCULATIONS USING TIME, MILE MARKERS & ODOMETER READINGS,) AND AT ANY POINT DURING TRAVEL IT WILL STOP AND THE NEEDLE IS OBSERVED TO GRADUALLY DROP BELOW THE 0 MPH MARK. SOMETIMES RESTARTING, WHETHER BY TURNING OFF THE IGNITION OR USING THE AUTOSTART TO REMOVE THE KEY WHILE LEAVING THE VEHICLE RUNNING, WILL TEMPORARILY CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I HAD A TRANSMISSION REPAIR AT AN AMMCO TRANSMISSION OUTLET. AS A RESULT OF THE REPAIR MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS NOT WORKING THE FIRST DAY THE CAR WAS DECLARED REPAIRED. I LEFT THE CAR WITH THE REPAIRER WHO TOLD ME A SECOND TRANSMISSION WOULD BE INSTALLED. I WAS TOLD APPROXIMATELY TEN DAYS LATER MY CAR WAS REPAIRED. WHEN THE CAR WAS PICKED UP A SECOND THE TIME THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED TO TIME FOR THE COMPUTER TO RESET ITSELF. THAT NEVER HAPPENED SINCE I FOUND OUT LATER THAT THE COMPUTER WAS IN DEFAULT MODE AND WAS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AAMCO PRETENDED TO TELL ME MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE THROUGHOUT THIS ORDEAL. THE SAME NIGHT I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK MY EXTERIOR LIGHTS WENT WHEN MY CAR GLITCHED AGAIN. I ALMOST HIT THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN BECAUSE THERE WAS TOTAL DARKNESS. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THERE IS NO OVERSIGHT OF SECONDARY REPAIR SHOPS. I HAVE TRIED HARD. NO ONE SHOULD GO THROUGH WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH. THIS MECHANICS USED MANY EXCUSES BUT IN THE END IT WAS A PINCHED (BEST WORD I CAN UTILIZED) WIRE THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. AFTER BEING TURNED DOWN BY FOUR LOCAL MECHANICS THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED BY THE DEALER. NO ONE WAS WANTS TO STEP FORWARD TO EXPLAIN MY PROBLEM. HOWEVER I HAVE DOCUMENTS TO SHOW THAT MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS WORKING FINE PRIOR TO THIS REPAIR. THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE IN PA HAS LIMITED AUTHORITY ON THIS ISSUE AND CANNOT HELP ME. SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE HAD 8 WHEELBEARINGS REPLACED, AND 2 HUB ASSEMBLIES, ALONG WITH THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE ABS. Upon arriving at my destination and after i put my in park i was UNABLE to turn my engine off because the ignition was stuck in that position. I ultimately had no choice but to unhook the battery cables along with disconnecting the alternator to get my engine to turn off. Prior to this incident occasionally upon starting my car the ignition would not disengage immediately upon the engine turning over which ultimately resulted in having to replace the starter on this vehicle. I am a single parent and only have one vehicle so this is a major issue for my family. Furthermore the fan speed control knob doesnt work properly because when it is put in position 3 it shuts the fan motor off completely. So there CLEAR to me that there seems to be a MAJOR electrical issue. The suspension on this vehicle is horrendous. I cannot go above 45mph without by car wanting to go into on-coming traffic or off of the road or trying to flip over on its side because the shocks/struts on the passenger side are not working properly. I have not used this vehicle for any other purpose then to transport myself and children to and from work/school/appointments. Everyone i spoke to about this particular vehicle has said that these vehicles were manufactured poorly and repairs come at a high cost.

THE TRANSMISSION MAY SEEM TO CLUNK WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AS THE COMPUTER DOESN'T READ THE CORRECT SPEED SENT FROM THE HUB ASSEMBLY TO THE COMPUTER. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME, DRIVING IN THE RAIN WITH THE ABS DISABLED, I HAD TO APPLY MY BRAKES HARD TO AVOID REAR ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHO HAD HIT THEIR BRAKES TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT AS WELL. I HAVE REPLACED HUB ASSEMBLY, ROTORS BRAKES, BRAKE CALIPERS, BRAKE HOSES THE WHOLE NINE YARDS. WAS TOLD BY ONE MECHANIC THAT WHEN THE TRACTION SYSTEM LIGHTS ARE ON AND ABS IS DISENGAGED THIS CAUSES HIGHER WEAR AND TEAR ON THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE ABS WIRING HARNESS IS TOO SHORT, SO IT GETS PULLED WHEN MAKING TURNS. THIS ISSUE WILL ALSO HAPPEN IF I GO OVER BUMPS, LIKE RAILROAD TRACKS, THE SMALL STREET DITCH FOR RAIN AT THE END OF A DRIVEWAY. SOMETIMES I JUST START THE CAR UP AND IT WILL IMMEDIATELY COME ON. I ALSO HAD THE SIDE SEAR FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOY WHEN A FRIEND CLOSED THE SEATBELT IN THE DOOR. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE, HOWEVER IT WAS NOT IN MOTION. THE SAME EVENT OCCURRED FOR THE THIRD TIME ON JULY 19 ,2014. THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING IN 2013 AND 2014. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT MOVE. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES. THE KEY DID NOT MOVE NOR COULD IT BE RETRIEVED. THE BATTERY LIGHT THEN TURNED ON. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR BY TURNING THE IGNITION KEY. I WAS NOT AWARE THAT THERE WERE RECALLS ON BUICK RENDEZVOUS 2004. I LEARNED ABOUT THESE FROM LISTENING TO THE NEWS. I HAVE CALLED BUICK IN JUNE 2014. I WAS TOLD THAT BASED ON MY VIN, THE CAR DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR A RECALL AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP ME WITH EVALUATING THE CAR. I HAVE TOLD THEM THAT THE IGNITION SYSTEM HAS BEEN REPLACED IN 2009. BUICK TELLS ME THAT THEY DO NOT SEE THIS ON THEIR SYSTEM. I HAVE THE RECEIPTS, PAYMENTS AND INFORMATION FROM THE BUICK DEALERSHIP THAT COMPLETED THIS AS WELL AS FROM THE TOWING COMPANY THAT TOWED THE CAR THERE.THIS EVENT OCCURRED AGAIN ON JULY 19, 2014 WHILE I WAS IN A SHOPPING MALL PARKING. CURRENTLY I AM EXPERIENCING A LOUD NOISE (MUCH LIKE AN AIR RAID HORN) WHILE I AM STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND WHEN I TURN MY VEHICLE OFF. IT STARTED BACK IN APRIL, THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT RECREATE THE NOISE, IN THE SHOP AGAIN 11/4/05 AND AGAIN 11/11/05. I JUST DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR. I IT IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE, LOUDER AND MORE FREQUENT, LASTING LONGER. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE 17 DEC 04 AND THE VERY NEXT DAY HAD A BREAK PROBLEM. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN FOUND THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS NOT PROPERLY CONNECTED AFTER THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS SERVICED. THE TECHNICIAN SUBSEQUENTLY FOUND THE FUEL TANK HARNESS WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THAT THIS CONNECTOR WAS EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER ELEMENTS AND IF THE CONNECTOR FAILED THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IN MY OPINION. THE CONNECTOR WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $199.50. *JB

VEHICLE'S MANUAL STATES 18/25 MPG, VEHICLE AVERAGE 13.0 MPG. SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT RYDELL (DEALERSHIP) STATED 18 MPG AFTER 40 MILES TEST DRIVE, SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT VERMONT CHEVY/BUICK (DEALERSHIP) STATED 27 MPG AFTER 25 (FREEWAY) MILES TEST DRIVE. BOTH SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ARE WRONG: VEHICLE AVERAGES 13.0 MPG UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS & NORMAL DRIVING HABITS ON CITY STREETS AND FREEWAY. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, I WAS ADVISED THAT VEHICLE CHECKED OK AFTER SCAN. PROBLEM PERSISTS. SERVICE ADVISOR/SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THAT THIS HIGH MPG IS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE: 3.6 L ENGINE. DOOR LOCKS SOMETIMES WORK, SOMETIMES DON'T. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. SCAN AND CHECK SYSTEM AFTER RECALL. PROBLEM PERSISTING. PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR MOVES INSIDE MIRRORS HOUSING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65 M/H) AND HAVE TO BE RE-SET UPON REACHING DESTINATION. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. PROBLEM PERSISTING. AUDIO SYSTEM COULD NOT READ ALL CDS. DEALER REPLACED RADIO/CD PLAYER TWICE. PROBLEM PERSISTING. DRIVER'S SEAT MOVES BACK AND FORTH. DEALER REPLACED SEAT ADJUSTER DUE TO EXCESSIVE LOOSENING. REPLACED SEAT TRACK ASSY. VEHICLE WENT TO RYDELL'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT THREE (3) TIMES DUE TO EXCESSIVE ALIGNMENT/STEERING ISSUES: VEHICLE CURRENTLY STILL PULLING TO RIGHT SIDE OF ROAD, STEERING WHEEL OFF CENTER. DEALER DID NOT RESOLVE ISSUES AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS, ALIGNMENT NOW OUT OF WARRANTY (7.5 K MILES ONLY), PROBLEM PERSISTING. *NM

DT: THE STARTER AND HORN DID NOT ALWAYS WORK. THERMOSTAT AND FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT ACCURATE. THERE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH AND IT WAS REPAIRED DUE TO A RECALL. THE PROBLEM WITH THE STARTER STARTED IN MARCH OF 2005. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. WHEN THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD HER IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. *JB

I BROUGHT A BUICK RENDEVOUZ ON JULY 17,2004. FROM THE VERY FIRST WEEK I HAD IT I TOLD THE DEALER THE GAS GAGE DOESNOT WORK PROPERLY. THEY CHECKED IT OVER AND STILL CANNOT FIND AHYTHING WRONG WITH IT. AND IT STILL NOT WORKING PROPERPLY NOW BUT THEAT IS NOT THE BIGGEST ISSU WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST INCIDENT 10.10.04. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK WHEN THE VEHILCE JUST STALLS OUT. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE CAR GET ROLLING FOR A COUPLE OF SCEONDS AND THEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE PUT THE CAR IN PARK. A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER I STARTED THE TRUCK UP AND BEGIN DRIVING. I DROPPED THE TRUCK OFF TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAD OCCURRED. THEY REPLACED A APART AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. SINCE THEN THE VIDHILCE HASE STALLED OUT OVER 10 TIMES. AND SOMEDAY IT STALLS OUT TWICE A DAY. I HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEEP CHANGEING AND REPLACING PARTS BUT ITS NOT FIXING THE STALLING OUT. I AM SCARED THAT ME AND MY DAUGHTER WILL KILLED FROM IT STALLING OUT. THEY JUST CHANGED SOMETHING WITHT THE TRANSMISSON AND NOW IT BACK IN THE SHOP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.

THE CONSUMER STATED THAT WHEN THE MIDDLE ROW SEAT WAS FOLDED IN THE UP POSITION, HE IS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE PASSENGERS IN THE THIRD ROW UNLESS THEY UNFOLD THE SECOND ROW SEATS. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WOULD SOMETIMES CUT COMPLETELY OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK WHILE THE DEALER WAS TRYING TO FIND THE PROBLEM WITH THE STALLING, THEY FOUND THAT THE BRAKE MODULE LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE COMPUTER. THE STALLING PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. OTHER PROBLEMS WERE: THE BATTERY LIGHT HAD COME ON FOLLOWED BY ENGINE STALLING, THE EBCM WAS INTERMITTENTLY DROPPING OUT THEREFORE THE IGNITION RELAY WAS REPLACED AND THE LIFTGATE DID NOT OPEN PROPERLY. *SC *JB
