A DEER WAS HIT IN THE FRONT HOOD AND BUMPER OF THIS CAR WHILE DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT SECTION OF COUNTY ROAD AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.

IN OCTOBER 2016 MY 2006 CHEVROLET AVEO LS HATCHBACK'S BATTERY DIED, UNABLE TO JUMPSTART ANYMORE. I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH HAS ILLUMINATED SOLID SINCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE GM DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TOO WASN'T ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE VEHICLE HAD 130,000 MILES AT THE TIME THE BATTERY DIED AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I NOW DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE WITH ME BECAUSE I'M AFRAID THAT THE AIRBAGS WILL MALFUNCTION.

The interior dash caught on fire and burned only in the middle of the dashboard. This happened hours after it started smoking inside the car and the headlights would not turn off even though they were already off.

Lights malfunction. Headlights dim intermittently, turn signal causes headlights to turn off, dashboard lights do not work, running lights work intermittently. The splice pack in the fuse box is burnt and so are the wires connected to it.

The splicer connected to the fuse box in the engine burns up after a while of use causing the Dash lights, right brake light and front marker light to not work at night. It is a major safety issue and hundreds/thousands of complaints online (via google) have been made about it burning up.

DASH AND SHIFTER LIGHTS WENT OUT AND CAME BACK ON AND EVENTUALLY WENT OUT COMPLETELY- WOULD NOT COME ON UPON STARTUP. SOME FRONT AND REAR LIGHTS AS WELL. BLINKERS & FLASHERS STILL WORK. HAVE CHECKED ALL FUSES AND BULBS. NEEDS ELECTRICAL REPAIR.

ON A WINTER MORNING I WENT OUT AND STARTED MY CAR TO GO TO WORK, I GOT ON THE ROAD AND REALIZED THAT MY DASHBOARD , HEATING CONTROL, AND SHIFTER LIGHTS DID NOT WORK. I MOVED THE SETTINGS SWITCH AND NOTHING CAME ON. I HAVE CHECKED THE FUSES. THEY ARE FINE. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT SEEMS THAT MANY AVEOS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. AND THE ONLY FIX IS TO REWIRE THE SYSTEM. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. IF I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP IT'S GOING TO COST ANYWHERE BETWEEN 50-100 DOLLARS OR MORE. IF ITS A PROBLEM TO THE CONSUMERS THEN IT SHOULD BE A RECALL AND NOT JUST A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. IF THIS IS A WIRING ISSUE THEN IT COULD POSSIBLY END UP CAUSING A FIRE.

THERE WAS NO SPECIFIC EVENT LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED IN MY 2006 CHEVY AVEO. THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING (MADE OF PLASTIC) COMPLETELY BROKE APART AND ALL THE ANTIFREEZE FLOWED OUT. THERE WAS NO WARNING. I HAVE ORDERED A NEW HOUSING AND THERMOSTAT, WHICH CHEVY HAS RE-DESIGNED TO ALUMINUM....NO LONGER PLASTIC, AND MY HUSBAND WILL BE REPLACING. 2306 CHEVROLET AVEO LT THERMOSTAT HOUSING CONSISTS OF TWO PLASTIC PARTS GLUED TOGETHER WITH THERMOSTAT BETWEEN THE TWO HALVES. THE GLUED JOINT CAME APART AND THE THERMOSTAT FELL OUT ON THE ROAD. THE COOLANT PUMPED OUT AND THE ENGINE SEVERELY OVERHEATED. TOWING CHARGES FROM A REMOTE HIGHWAY LOCATION WERE $190. REPAIR AT LAMB CHEVROLET IN PRESCOTT, AZ, TOTALED $195. THIS WAS FOUND TO BE A COMMON AVEO PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FACTORY RECALL ITEM! *TR

PARKED THE CAR IN A PARKING SPOT AT A STORE, WENT INSIDE FOR A LITTLE WHILE, CAME BACK OUT TO HAVE THE SHIFTER NOT SHIFT FROM PARK AFTER BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. I'VE ALREADY TRIED REPLACING THE BRAKE SWITCH NEAR THE BRAKE PEDAL AND REPLACED THE BRAKE TRANSAXLE SOLENOID. NEITHER OPTION HAS WORKED. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. $80 LATER, THEY WANT OVER 400 TO FIX THE SHIFTER BY REPLACING THE ENTIRE SHIFT ASSEMBLY. FROM WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE, THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY TAKEN CARE OF BY THE DEALERSHIP AT NO COST TO US. IT STILL IS NOT FIXED BECAUSE WE CANNOT AFFORD TO SPEND ANOTHER 400 DOLLARS TO FIX SOMETHING THAT FAILED RIGHT AFTER THE 36,000 MARK. *TR

2006 CHEVY AVEO - ISSUE REAR AXLE BEAM BUSHINGS FAILED AT 65,000 MILES. THE FAILURE ALLOWS THE REAR AXLE TO HAVE UP TO AN INCH OF TRAVEL LEFT TO RIGHT. AS YOU GO DOWN THE ROAD YOU CAN FEEL THE BACK OF THE CAR SHIFTING AS YOU HIT BUMPS IN THE ROAD OR SIMPLY BY TAKING AN EXIT RAMP. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE AXEL AT HALF PRICE. NOW 2 YEARS LATER I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD I HAVE TO REPLACE THE AXLE FOR THE SECOND TIME. I AM WORKING WITH GM CUSTOMER SERVICE.. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REAR AXLE BUSHING WAS DEFECTIVE AND UNABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE PROPERLY ALIGNED. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE FRONT TIRES TO WEAR PREMATURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,989.

WE HAVE A 2006 CHEVY AVEO. IT HAS A PROBLEM IN THE REAR END, WE WERE TOLD IT WAS A FAILURE OF THE REAR AXLE BEARINGS AND IT ALLOWS THE REAR AXLE TO MOVE ABOUT ONE INCH FROM LEFT BACK TO RIGHT, AROUND CORNERS AND ACROSS BUMPS. WE WERE TOLD BY OUR MECHANIC IT WOULD BE OVER 800 DOLLARS TO FIX, WHICH WE DO NOT HAVE. IN ADDITION, OUR MECHANIC STATED THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE INITIATED A MASSIVE RECALL. I CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER CAR RIGHT NOW AND AM AFRAID THAT IT WILL CAUSE ME TO WRECK. *TR

FRONT TIRES HAD UNEVEN FRONT TIRE WEAR. OUTSIDE EDGE OF FRONT TIRES WORE MORE QUICKLY THEN INSIDE EDGE. THE PROBLEM STARTED WHEN CAR WAS NEW AND ALIGNMENTS WERE PERFORMED. THE ALIGNMENTS DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. THE ORIGINAL TIRES LAST LESS THAN 30,000 MILES DUE TO THE PROBLEM. THE TIRES WOULD'VE LAST LESS TIME IF NOT FOR FREQUENT TIRE ROTATES. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT SOLVED UNTIL THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT STRUT MOUNTS IN ABOUT 2010. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE REAPPEARING. *TR

This is happening to my car. Would like them to fix it . Manufacture defect and it is a huge safety issue. Effect pedal function. Some customers may comment on an intermittent malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) being Illuminated with a message or an indicator that displays Reduced Engine Power. The technician may observe on a scan tool DTC P2138 - Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1-2 Correlation set as Current or in History. This condition may be caused by water intrusion into the instrument panel (IP) to body harness connector, which carries the APP sensor signals to the ECM/PCM. This water intrusion results in a voltage difference between APP Sensor 1 and APP Sensor 2 that exceeds a predetermined value for more than a calibrated period of time, setting P2138. This technical bulletin provides repair information for repairing the ip to body harness connector to correct a customer concern for intermittent malfunction indicator lamp (mil) illuminated with reduced engine power displayed and dtc p2138 set. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, A BOLT IN THE BROKE, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO COLLAPSE AND LANDED ON THE AXLE, BREAKING IT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. ALSO, SHE HAD THE AXLE REPLACED PREVIOUSLY, NOT KNOWING THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRAME. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, AT WHICH TIME, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM WAS LOOSE AS WELL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT SWAY BAR, AND THE BUSHING, AND TIGHTEN ALL THE BOLTS. WHEN THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AFTER THE REPAIRS THEY FOUND THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, THE SWAY BAR BUSHINGS AND LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED. THE BRAND NEW HANKOOK TIRES ON MY 2006 CHEVY AVEO ARE DEFECTIVE. I HIT A POT HOLE AND THE FIRST ONE WAS RUINED JUST 26 DAYS AFTER I DROVE THE CAR OFF THE DEALER LOT. THE REPLACEMENT TIRE I JUST BOUGHT FOR $265.55 POPPED TONIGHT 3 DAYS AFTER I DROVE OFF THE REPAIR SHOP LOT. *JB
