The torque converter on my vehicle is faulty. It has a violent shake, slippage of gears, and sometimes even loss of power while driving. Sometimes the violent vibrations cause me to have to slow down abruptly amongst traffic. Several mechanic have identified the torque converter as the problem.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH and 50 MPH, the front end started shaking abnormally with the vehicle shuddering. The contact released the accelerator pedal and the failure ceased. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact learned of the Customer Satisfaction Program under NHTSA Campaign Number: 10089393 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the Customer Satisfaction Program. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a safety complaint. The failure mileage was 5,000.

VEHICLE SHUDDERS, A PROBLEM THAT WAS BROUGHT TO GM ATTENTION IN 2016. IN 2016 YOU RECALLED CERTAIN VEHICLES KNOWING THIS PROBLEM WOULD HAPPEN TO OTHER CAMAROS DOWN THE LINE. IM WRITING THAT MY CAMARO BE ADDED. I HAVE ONLY 25,000 MILES.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated while driving approximately 60-65 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond and decelerated. The check engine warning light was illuminated, and the transmission was slipping. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the used car dealer, where the transmission was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the used car dealer, where the transmission was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed back to the used car dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The Chevrolet dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.

On Friday August 12th 2022 at 9:30pm check engine light came on after car was sitting turned off for a few hours while my fiance was buffing/polishing/waxing the car. Checked the chevy app, it didn't list any problems. Took it to auto zone. They ran diagnostics. Came back codes P0711 and P0700. Made appointment at AAMCO Monday August 15th. Car was not smoothly down shifting and when put in drive or reverse would jump slightly. AAMCO basically said the transmission was bad. Which I can't understand how that could happen, it's a 2016 only has a little over 70,000 miles on it and is extremely well taken care of. I'm being told we have 2 options either the whole transmission needs to be taken out and rebuilt to find the problem, an estimated $3000-$6000. Or 2 the TCM can be replaced/reprogrammed for over $2500 which is not a guaranteed fix. They also told us a few other chevys with low miles also needed a transmission rebuild! So what is going on Chevrolet!? And we're still making payments on this car and it's already having expensive problems!

I expereinced sudden and complete loss of Electric Power Steering Assist. A warning ,message appeared on dash notification area that power steering assist had failed. I understand that this is a known problem that has been recalled for this model, but my VIN was not included in that recall. I was travelling at 60 MPH at the time and narrowly avoiding losing control and crashing the vehicle. After stopping and restarting the car, the problem went away and then appeared again 2 days later. I am not confident that it will not happen again. The existing recall must be expanded to include my vehicle and possibly many other vins.

The electric power steering fails at no giving time. The vehicle is a 2016 and out of warranty but only has 39,000 on it. There are no codes set by this fault. This is a huge safety consern being the steering works as it should and without no warning comes and goes.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering disengaged. The contact was unable to turn the steering wheel. The loss of power steering function message was displayed. After restarting the vehicle, the message was no longer displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V086000 (Steering). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

The transmission temperature sensor has gone bad in my 2016 Camaro ss with 6.2L engine, GM has recalled thousands of 2016 vehicles with this very issue, these transmissions have enough issues as it is, and GM knows it’s an issue or they wouldn’t have already recalled all those other 2016 vehicles. It can cause damage to the already fragile/finicky transmission in the 2016 models and other years, causing overheating of the transmission and causing the car to go into limp mode, and in my case it didn’t even throw a check engine light, I took my car to a mechanic about a different concern and he told me and showed me the code, he cleared it out and It immediately came back and still no check engine light.it’s a P0711 code, faulty/dead transmission temperature sensor. My car isn’t acting right shifting and I’ve noticed other issues, but is it that sensor or is it one of the many other issues with the 8L45 and 8L90 transmissions? So if that sensor is an issue in many other 8L90 transmissions why do they think it’s not an issue in the Camaro? You can go on any GM related forum and read all the complaints for this issue, and there are recalls about it for other GM vehicles but not Camaro. And it’s not a cheap repair, and it depends on which wiring harness that in the car to how much of the transmission has to be taken apart to repair the issue.

When shifting car into park, I get a shift to park warning when turning off the car even tho car is in park. I have to turn car back on and shift out of park and back into park until message goes away.

our insured, [XXX] , owners of the 2016 Camaro, turned in their vehicle to Atkins Kroll, Inc, Guam, due to complaints of the wiring harness within the trunk burned due to water infiltration into the trunk cavity, due to the trunk weatherstrip failing to keep out the water from the trunk. AK has determined that this is considered wear and tear. our insured advises that there are three other Camaros at AK with the same problem. 2016 CHEV CAMARO SS STARTER ISSUES. STARTER IS TOO CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WHICH HEATS UP EXTREMELY HOT AND AFFECTS THE COMPONENTS IN THE STARTER AND LOCKS UP STARTER.

My car has 23,507 miles on it. It has not been driven hard. I took it in for rear differential service. I was informed that both rear shocks were leaking. It was recommended to replace the shocks for $1479 because the shocks have an adaptive feature for different drive modes: touring, sport, track and traction for snow and ice.

It was a near-death experience as I waited at a red light in my 2016 Camaro. Out of nowhere, the car started violently shaking, and before I could react, I almost collided with the vehicle in front of me. The sudden loss of power left me stranded amidst honking cars, making the situation even more perilous. After being towed to the nearest dealership, they attempted to fix the issue with two transmission flushes, but the problem only escalated. The car is now a ticking time bomb, completely inoperable, and I fear that other drivers may have been in similar danger. According to the dealership, the root of the problem lies with the torque converter, a faulty component that could have catastrophic consequences if not addressed immediately.

TRUNK LEAKS WITH ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS LOCATED IN THE BASE OF THE TRUNK WHERE A SPARE TIRE WOULD BE LOCATED. WATER POOLS IN THIS AREA AND EXPOSES THE FUSE BOX, AMPLIFIER AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS TO WATER. THIS POSSES A MALFUNCTION AND POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD WHEN THE FUSE PANEL SHORTENS OUT. DUE TO THE HALF-MOON SHAPE OF THE TOP OF THE TRUNK WHERE THE BACK WINDOW MEETS WATER TO POOLS AND THEN SEEPS UNDER THE TRUNK WEATHERSTRIPPING AND ULTIMATELY INTO THE TRUNK.

The component that failed is the 8-speed automatic transmission and torque converter on my 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS. The system experienced shuddering, slipping, and overheating, leading to unsafe driving conditions. The defective parts are no longer available for inspection because they are being replaced through a dealership service center, but the vehicle and records of prior repairs are available upon request. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the transmission caused hesitation, loss of power during acceleration, and unpredictable shifting. This created dangerous situations in traffic where the car failed to respond as expected. The problem has been confirmed and reproduced by authorized GM dealers during multiple visits. They have identified overheating and failure codes related to the transmission and torque converter. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer’s authorized service center (Chevrolet dealer) but not by police or insurance representatives. There were warning symptoms before the failure, including: Noticeable shuddering during acceleration Hard shifting, particularly in lower gears Transmission overheating codes detected by the dealership These symptoms first appeared at approximately 35000 miles and have recurred despite prior repairs under warranty.

ISSUE WITH ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM. I HAVE RECEIVED AN DIAGNOSTIC ALERT FROM ONSTAR IN REFERENCE TO THIS PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME TOOK VEHICLE TO SHOP I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A GLITCH IN THE SYSTEM. THAT WAS APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS AGO. I RECEIVED ANOTHER ALERT FROM ONSTAR APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS AGO TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP RAN A DIAGNOSTICS CODE CAME BACK THAT IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE AIR FLOW SYSTEM SO THEY REPLACED THE PART. REPAIRS WERE DONE ALMOST TWO WEEKS AGO AND I RECEIVED THE SAME ALERT FROM ONSTAR YESTERDAY IN REFERENCE TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ALERT. MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY THE FIRST TWO INCIDENCE BUT NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN I RECEIVED THE ALERT FROM ONSTAR I CAN NOT USE REMOTE START TO CRANK UP VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN ALERT WAS NOTICED THE SECOND AND THIRD TIME WAS STATIONARY.

I WAS AT A RED LIGHT WAITING TO MAKE A TURN AND ONCE THE GREEN LIGHT CAME ON I STEPPED ON THE GAS. I WAS ABOUT TO STOP AT THE NEXT RED LIGHT AND MY BRAKES WOULDN'T WORK. A METAL NOISE CAN BE HEARD AS I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE. THE CLOSER I GOT I KEPT STEPPING ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE "BRAKE ASSIST" LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND GAVE THE BRAKES A FEW PUMPS AND STILL WOULDN'T BREAK UNTIL I SHUT THE CAR AND TURNED BACK ON. I RELEASED THE HANDLE BREAK ON AND OFF. LOEHMANN BLASIUS CHEVROLET CADILLAC IN WATERBURY, CONNECTICUT ALSO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OF THE BRAKES NOT "GRABBING" AS INDICATED IN THE WORK ORDER; HOWEVER, THEY UPDATED THE ELECTRONIC BODY CONTROL MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 8-4000764280. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000. **TR CONSUMER STATED LOEHMAN BLASIUS WAS ABLE TO CALL ENGINEERS AT CHEVROLET CORPORATE FOR HELP SAID SNOW TIRES WERE CAUSING THE ISSUE AND GAVE THE CAR BACK. SWAPPED SNOW TIRES FOR FACTORY AS ADVISED AND ISSUE WITH BRAKES WAS STILL HAPPENING. BECAUSE OF THE ISSUE I HAVE BEEN HAVING WITH THE BRAKES AND BECAUSE IT ONLY HAPPENS IN RAINY CONDITIONS. THE BREAKS FAILED ON MY 2016 CAMARO. LOST ALL POWER TO BREAKS ON CITY STREET THEY PULSED AND VIBRATED ON DRY PAVEMENT BUT HAD NO GRIP AND HAD TO STOP BY USING TRANSMISSION. TURNED CAR OFF THEN BACK ON BREAKS WORKED AFTER THAT. DEALER AND CHEVY SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG AND NO ERROR CODES AND THEY HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ON RECORD. VERY LUCKY NO ONE WAS HURT. The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that on the same day that the vehicle was purchased, the vehicle experienced a failure. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to immediately start-up. The dealer, Flori Auto Sales LLC, was contacted, and the dealer towed the vehicle to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with starter failure. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to Auto Zone, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor "A" had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called an independent mechanic and was informed that the dealer needed to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. Once the vehicle was at the dealer, an employee used a handheld scanner, and the check engine warning light was no longer illuminated. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was repaired, and an emissions test was conducted without the contact's permission. The contact took the vehicle back to the residence. The contact stated that the cooling fan failed to function as intended. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, and the contact was informed that DTC: P0128 and P0811were retrieved; however, the warning lights were no longer illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an emissions testing center and was informed that the Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor "A" had failed and had not been repaired. The contact was informed that the vehicle had passed the emission test; however, a failure was present, and the vehicle should not have passed the test. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 185,100.

WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65MPH, WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE TRANSMISSION, KEPT STALLING AND WOULDN'T RUN ANY FASTER AS I TRIED SWITCHING LANES. ALMOST HIT THE SEMI TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE MY CAR WOULDNT ADVANCE ANY FASTER. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 66,000 MILES IT'S A 2016 CAMARO V6 AND ALREADY HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IT ALSO DOESN'T GO IN REVERSE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIDN'T WANT TO HELP ME OUT BECAUSE THE WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER IT ANYMORE 60,000 BEING THE END OF IT WHEN MINE WAS ONLY 6,000 OVER.

I HAVE ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT TWICE BASED ON THE TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND THE CAR LOOSING TRACTION BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. CHEVY HAS FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION 3 TIMES WITH NO CHANGE. 3 WEEKS AGO THE ENGINE FAILED WHILE I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON A HIGHWAY. THIS CAUSED A TRUCK TO ALMOST RAM THE BACK OF MY CAR AND ANOTHER CAR ALMOST HIT ME AS I TRIED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER. AUTO NATION CHEVROLET ON LEE VISTA BLVD, ORL. FLORIDA. THEY DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. THE ENGINE HAS BEEN TAKEN APART INTO MANY PIECES AND MUCH OF IT IS SITTING ON THE DEALERSHIP SHOP FLOOR. THE MECHANIC SAID THE ENGINE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE VALVE CASING AND A DEFECTIVE SPRING..DAMAGING THE CAMSHAFT. ALL VALVES AND SPRINGS AND CAMSHAFT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. CHEVY HAS DECLINED MY REQUEST FOR A NEW ENGINE..THEY SAID THAT DECISION IS UP TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER. I SPOKE TO HIM...HE SAID THAT THE COST TO REPLACE THE ENGINE MUST BE WITHIN A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS VS REBUILDING THE ENGINE FOR HIM TO AUTHORIZE THAT THE ENGINE BE REPLACED.. THIS IS NOW 3 WEEKS IN DURATION WITH NO CAR, WHICH COST ME CLOSE TO $50,000 AND ALMOST HAS CAUSED ME TO BE IN 3 ACCIDENTS. I AM APPEALING FOR YOUR INTERVENTION.

The autodimming rear view mirror has begun to darken in normal light and makes it difficult to see out of the mirror at traffic and objects behind the car, making for a potential safety hazard. WINDSHIELD FOGS UP AND BLOCKS VISIBILITY TREMENDOUSLY (ON A VEHICLE WITH LOW VISIBLE ALREADY, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS). THIS IS CAUSED BY COLD AIR LEAKING FROM THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER VENT, AND HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF DEFROSTER SETTING. IT BECOMES A PROBLEM ON HOT AND HUMID DAYS AND WHEN IT RAINS, RENDERING THE AC USELESS IF YOU WANT TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD. FURTHER, TURNING THE AC OFF DOES NOT DECREASE THE FOGGING, NOR DOES DRIVING THE CAR OR SITTING STATIONARY. THE ONLY WAYS TO KEEP IT AT BAY ARE TO RUN HOT AIR (HORRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE ON HOT/HUMID DAYS) OR TO CONSTANTLY RUN THE WIPERS ON A HIGH SPEED. GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE YET TO COME UP WITH A FIX, AS ALL 2016-2018 CHEVROLET CAMARO'S HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND YET THEY STILL SELL THEM AND ARE NOT INTERESTED IN FIXING THIS LIFE THREATENING ISSUE! 1: convertible top needs replacement. The glass is separating from the actual convertible top. there is also a plastic trim piece that also breaks constantly. This part could fly off with the top down. The glass could also come off causing me and others to be at risk. The dealer has confirmed the issue but wants me to pay out of pocket when my car is used but only a year old. This is not the first time I have heard people have this issue. New cars and older ones need to be recalled and they need to fix these mistakes with manufacturing. It’s unacceptable and putting lives in danger. 2: RPM will flutter / fluctuate so I’m assuming it is an electrical failure. I have no idea exactly what is wrong which puts everyone at danger. I could have a car fire one day. Or maybe the car will just die on a freeway going 65+. The dealer has inspected and acknowledged the issues. They have yet to fix the RPM issue as they couldn’t and didn’t know what was going on. I have been waiting for a part that “may or may not fix the issue” for about 5 months now. But the convertible top as well as this rpm issue needs to be a recall. It is putting countless lives in danger every day. It’s time for them to take ownership of the problems. I took my 2016 Camaro in to get checked out because bit was driving funny. Come to find out the sensor in the transmission was going out. After i put it in for the warranty, my screen , dash, and all the sound went out in my vehicle. The next day on November 27th my car battery drained out and i had to get it replaced. 2 days later on November 29th 2021 my car battery went out again and had to get another battery. So at this point something is draining the battery down so i changed the batter and noticed there was water in the trunk of my car after it rained. But didn’t think nothing of it. That same day i parked my car at work turned the car off and went inside the building. 45 mins later they said my car was on fire from the trunk. The fire department came and put the fire out… the fire and smoke cleared and the thing that caught on fire was the fuse box which is in the trunk and everything around it. I took my car to the Chevy dealership clay Cooley Chevrolet in Dallas Texas and they couldn’t figure out why it caught on fire and that everything was too burnt up to tell what happened alls they know is that the fuse box shorted out. I took my complaints to GM and they did an investigation. It took 2 months and i did not get a rental till 3 days before they completed my investigation and they didn’t search for one i had to go look for one . Then they told me that they are not going to help with the vehicle because the fire was located in the “luggage compartment space”. They said you can’t exactly tell where the fire came from because the fire burned everything up. Today they are telling me to give the rental back after just getting it 3 days ago and I’m without a car.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving over the train tracks at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed that there was smoke and a burning odor coming through the vents. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The contact opened the hood and inspected the engine compartment, but the contact could not find the origin of the burning odor. The vehicle was towed to the residence, where the contact discovered that the smoke and the burning odor were coming from the starter that was 3 inches away from the exhaust manifold, by design. The contact purchased the starter from the dealer, and the contact replaced the starter; however, the failure persisted. The contact then noticed that the wires and the wiring harness of the starter were severely burned. The contact purchased the wires and the wiring harness from the dealer. The contact replaced the starter, the wires, and the wiring harness, and installed a custom-made heat shield between the starter and the exhaust manifold. Additionally, the contact stated that the steering wheel had failed to lock after turning off the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000. The VIN was not available.

The car (2016 camaro RS) Stopped in the middle of the car wash , this car was is a automatic rolling system which means you put the car in natural upon entering and in drive open exting , the car wash was malfunctioning and the car was Stopped / stuck there for 5 minutes while the car wash spray systemwas running , then the car wash started to roll the vehicle toward the exit. Upon putting the car in Drive to Exit the car wash the car did a sudden unintended acceleration which caused hitting the 2010 Lexus 250 in the rear bumper area. The distance from the car wash exit to impact was approximately 25 feet , speed of impact approximately 8 MPH. Heavy break pedal where applied No serious injuries on either party. I would consider this as an incident.

THERE IS AN THICK AND STIFF ELECTRICAL CABLE THAT LOOPS VERY LOW IN FRONT OF THE TOP OF THE CLUTCH PEDAL. THE TOP OF MY FOOT EASILY CATCHES ON THIS CABLE WITH MY HEEL FULLY ON FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS PREVENTED ME FROM FULLY COMPRESSING THE CLUTCH CAUSING MY CAR TO STALL IN CROSS TRAFFIC.

I HAVE A DEFECTIVE WHEEL, IT CRACKED. THERE WAS NO IMPACT, I HAVE PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF THE WHEEL SPINNING ON A BALANCER TO PROVE THIS. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS BECOME MORE COMMON SINCE WHEEL MANUFACTURING WENT TO CHINA. GM IS WEASELING OUT OF THE WARRANTY, NO BIG DEAL. THE DANGER IS THAT I WAS INFORMED THAT GM WELDS LOW PRESSURE CAST WHEELS TO FULFILL WARRANTY CLAIMS. WHICH THE DEALERSHIP HAD DONE TO THIS WHEEL WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE, AGAIN NO BIG DEAL I ALREADY REPLACED THE WHEEL AND CERTAINLY WOULDN'T PUT THAT WHEEL BACK ON MY CAR. IN MY PROFESSIONAL OPINION THIS IS DANGEROUS. ESPECIALLY ON A HEAVY CAR THAT IS MADE TO RUN ON A TRACK AT 150 MPH PLUS. A CRACK IS CAUSED BY IMPURITIES IN THE ALLOY. The blind spot warning system stopped working, and yes it is available for inspection upon request. I have heard this leads to further electrical problems and am worried this may compromise my safety if not dealt with. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer. The component has not been inspected. There was a warning that popped up stating “service side detection system” that appeared randomly on my drive home the other day. I had not hit anything or done anything to the car that might have caused this. After a couple of rain storms, it appears that this is directly related to water intrusion.

Before purchasing a 2016 camaro last year I took it to a Chevrolet dealership for a safety inspection with no safety concerns found and after purchasing it around 57,000 miles went to another Chevrolet dealership to diagnose any electrical concerns occurring with the car that I noticed. There was nothing found but I still noticed humming sound and let them know and they found no concerns whatsoever. The battery was replaced twice as over the course of the year the electricals decreased in power. I then notified my insurance there was an issue with the car drawing power and it would not start. Upon checking the trunk noticed water had gotten into and possibly damaged the trunk/rear fuse block. I went through my insurance to fix any body damage but no electricals were fixed based on the insurance representative declining to accept liability for the damage and upon return of my vehicle, the repair facility started the car against my wishes and the rear fuse block in the trunk sparked and caused a fire to start in the trunk that continued for about a minute or two. Upon taking it to Chevrolet this year again after this, I was charged $800 for them to not diagnose anything but to say the x-connectors were burned up in the incident as well (I said this previously as this started the fire as it carries the currents from the fuse block) and to say they cannot find the source of the water leak/entry or replace the fuse block as the x-connectors and harness for the car, the first parts needed to be repaired to establish power to the car, have been discontinued. For more details on the cause, effects, and repair steps necessary but not been able to completed by GM/Chevrolet please refer to this service bulletin that I noticed was raised after I purchased this car upon researching the issue MULTIPLE chevrolet dealerships, ignored, didn't notice, and now are saying cannot repair and should be followed up on: 18-NA-375. Car is at ~70,000 miles currently.

The contact's grandson owned a 2016 Chevrolet Camero. While the grandson was driving at approximately 40 MPH, smoke suddenly was present coming from under the front hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was immediately parked and moments later flames and smoke streamed from the engine compartment and the vehicle exploded. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the flames. During the incident, the grandson sustained burns and blisters to both feet and fringed hair and facial hairs which did not require medical treatment. Also, items of clothing were burned. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 85,000.

Every sense the car was bought from the dealership and it would rain the trunk leaks and holds water to cause electrical damage and problems. I took it back to the dealership and they said they didn’t see a problem but there was a problem. Currently I am so hurt to have a car I can’t drive under raining conditions and now my trunk smell of moldy and its problems due to electrical issues. The trunk leaked enough to cover the fuse box caused lots of electrical problems.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the part to repair the vehicle needed to be repaired by the dealer. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where he was notified that the drive shaft was defective; however, when he arrived at the dealer, he was informed by the dealer supervisor that the center support barrier was defective. The contact disputed the claim and the dealer refused to service the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and an investigation was performed. The contact was then informed by the manufacturer that the vehicle would not be repaired and the contact was instructed to retrieve the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

Around 3/2/2021 I received a dash warning light for the electronic parking brake indicating some form of malfunction. The electronic parking brake began to stay on once set and when I would accelerate a bit, it would release. Thereafter the rear brakes and calipers completely locked up while sitting in my garage and would not move. I had to have it towed out of my garage and to a Chevrolet dealership for repair. The Chevrolet dealer repaired it after approximately one week or more and five or six days later the indicator light returned stating electronic parking brake malfunction so I took it back to the Chevrolet dealership and they repaired again. I had also contacted the dealership I purchased from in Tennessee and made them aware of the problem and they agreed to pay for the repair because my warranty did not cover this repair because it happened to be from prior damage to the car before i purchased it. After speaking in great detail with the Chevrolet dealer, it was explained to me that this is beyond repair at this point if I were to have any further issues with this and strongly recommended having this replaced and that it is currently unsafe considering this could happen again including while I am driving and could result in to an accident and possible injury to myself and others. I then hired an attorney to dispute this with the dealership I purchased from and they on many occasions declined any compensation for this. It is very pricy and the salesperson had told me at one point the car tire had had a blowout and defected a wiring issue with the electronic parking brake and that the switch had been replaced and that the side indicator lights were not working off and on. He assured me that this had been fixed, meaning it only needed a switch. The whole Body Wiring Harness was very badly effected and there are currently seventeen wires that are not secure in which control a lot of the car. I did also retrieve the service records.

I WAS DRIVING DURING RUSH HOUR AT 70MPH WHEN MY AXLE SHAFT ABRUPTLY DISCONNECTED FROM THE CAR. IT WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY, AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO COAST THROUGH THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET CAMARO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER AND A LACK OF ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE REDUCED PERFORMANCE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NALLEY CHEVROLET (4200 JONESBORO RD, UNION CITY, GA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH FAILED AND RECOMMENDED IT BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE STABILITRAK WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTERWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WHEN IT RAINS GOOD LUCK DECIDING IF YOU WANT TO TURN THE WINDOW DEFOGGERS ON AND CAUSE CONDENSATION OR OPEN THE WINDOWS IN THE RAIN TO GET WET WHICH MAKES THE WINDOWS STEAM UP COMPLETELY OR LAST RESORT IS TO TURN THE HEAT UP ON THE DEFROSTERS AND HEAT UP THE WHOLE CAR. . OR AGAIN, PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD INDEFINITELY OR DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR IN 80% OF THE SOUTH'S WEATHER CONDITIONS. REALLY SAD THAT GM AND THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS FIX TO THIS ISSUE IS TO SAY "WELCOME TO THE SOUTH" AND LAUGH. THIS HAPPENS WHEN ITS MUGGY OUT, RAINING, COOL AND WET, EARLY MORNING OR LATE EVENING. 'INCIDENT #1: ON JUNE 15, 2018, AFTER MAKING MY NORMAL COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK, I ARRIVED HOME. LATER THAT EVENING, WHEN I TRIED TO START MY CAR, I WAS NOT ABLE TO START IT AT ALL. I WAS UNABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT TURNED OUT THAT THE ISSUE WAS THE STARTER - AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD DEFINITELY NOT NEED TO BE OF CONCERN TO A NEW CAR OWNER. WHILE I WAS PROVIDED WITH A LOANER CAR, I WAS HIGHLY INCONVENIENCED DURING MY FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND. 'INCIDENT #2: WHILE DRIVING CAR TO AN APPOINTMENT ON THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 2018, THE GAS PEDAL GOT STUCK AND I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR. I REPEATEDLY TRIED TO APPLY BRAKES BUT THIS DID NOT WORK. TO AVOID CRASHING, RISKING MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF THE OTHER ROAD USERS, I HAD TO MAKE A QUICK DECISION. THIS DECISION WAS FOR ME TO KICK THE GAS PEDAL TO BREAK IT. IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE CAR TO A SAFE LOCATION, I LITERALLY HAD TO USE AN UMBRELLA IN PLACE OF THE GAS PEDAL TO GIVE POWER TO THE CAR.

I HAVE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS THIS VEHICLE STARTED THESE PROBLEMS 1 MONTH AFTER I PURCHASED IT WHEN I PURCHASED IT ,IT ONLY HAD 95 MILES ON IT, IN THE MEAN TIME DUE TO GENERAL MOTORS CLOSING THE CASE AND NOT WILLING TO FIX THE ISSUE I HAVE CONTACTED THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU , I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED NBC NEWS " CALL 12 FOR ACTION" SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER OF 2016 THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN STALLING IN THE IN TRAFFIC, THE COMPUTERS WILL GO BLANK AND WHEN THEY COME BACK ON THEY HAVE TO REBOOT, AS I MENTIONED I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE IN 8 DIFFERENT TIMES AND NOBODY CAN FIX THE ISSUE, I EVEN REQUESTED A FIELD MECHANIC WHICH GENERAL MOTORS SET UP AFTER THE BBB CONTACTED THEM. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN ON JUNE 12TH AND CANNOT GET ANYONE TO RETURN MY CALL THE ISSUES ARE STILL HAPPENING NBC NEWS CONTACTED ME YESTERDAY AND ASKED IF I HAD CONTACTED THE NHTSA DUE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE NBC NEWS " CALL 12 FOR ACTION" GAVE ME THIS WEBSITE SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT CONTACT YOU UNTIL I HAD FILED A COMPLAINT. SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE I HAVE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL DIFFERENT PEOPLE AT GENERAL MOTORS TRYING TO GET THIS VEHICLE FIXED AND HAVE BEEN GETTING THE RUNAROUND UNTIL THE BBB HAS GOT INVOLVED. THESE ISSUES HAVE TAKEN PLACE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN JUST SITTING IN A PARKING LOT I WOULD BE AT A STOP LIGHT AND GO TO ACCULTURATE WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY STOP AND THE COMPUTERS IN THE VEHICLE WOULD BLACK OUT. CHEVROLET HAS TRIED 8 DIFFERENT TIMES TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL EVERY TIME. GENERAL MOTORS EVEN HAD ME TAKE IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP THEY CANT SEEM TO FIND THE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.

ON FRI, 26 AUGUST 2016, AT A STOP, MY CAR WOULDN'T GO INTO ANY GEAR (IT IS A 6 SPEED MANUAL). I ALMOST GOT HIT. A COP & A GOOD SAMARITAN STOPPED & FORCED THE GEAR IN 1ST AS DEALERSHIP & GM WEREN'T HELPFUL OVER THE PHONE. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE TO FLOW. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR A WEEK & SAID THEY DID A FULL CHECK & EVERYTHING WAS OKAY. GM WAS CONTACTED BUT NOTHING WAS DONE TO FIX IT. ON SAT, 24 SEPTEMBER AT NIGHT IN A PARKING GARAGE, I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WHEN I WENT TO PUT MY CAR INTO FIRST GEAR TO PARK, AGAIN IT WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. I RECORDED A VIDEO OF MY FRIEND HAVING TO FORCE IT INTO GEAR AS THE GOOD SAMARITAN DID WEEKS BEFORE. ANYONE WHO VIEWS THE VIDEO CAN SEE HOW THE CAR WON'T GO IN GEAR & CAN HEAR THE NOISE IT MAKES (AS IT DID THE IN THE AUGUST SCENARIO). I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN THAT MON. CAR WAS KEPT FOR A WEEK. THEY CONTACTED GM & GM SAID THE SAME THING HAD BEEN HAPPENING TO OTHER 2016 CAMAROS & THE SOLUTION WAS TO FLUSH OUT OR "BLEED" SOME FLUID IN THE CLUTCH. I'M NOT A MECHANIC BUT I KNEW THIS WOULDN'T WORK. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MECHANICAL PROBLEM. I WAS ALSO SUSPICIOUS. JUST 3 WEEKS BEFORE, GM SUPPOSEDLY HAD NO SOLUTIONS & ACTED LIKE MY CAR WAS THE ONLY ONE DOING THIS. FRI , 30 SEPT, CAR WAS RETURNED. ON SAT MORNING 1 OCT, THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AT A DRIVE THRU & 2 EMPLOYEES HAD TO PUSH ME IN THE PARKING LOT. NEW MANAGER SAYS THEY'LL DRIVE THE CAR TO SEE IF IT HAPPENS TO THEM & ALSO CAN TRY "ONE MORE THING".THE CAR HAS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTER DEFECT THAT IS A SAFETY HAZARD.I CALLED GM FOR ASSISTANCE & THEY ATTTEMPTED TO CONTACT FLOW FOR MORE INFO & AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES ,RETURNED & SAID THAT THEY HAD NOT BEEN TRANSFERRED TO SERVICE & WAS TOLD FLOW SERVICE WAS"TOO BUSY" TO TALK BECAUSE THEY WERE GETTING OFF IN AN HOUR. GM NEEDS TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY & TAKE THE TRANSMISSION APART OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE. IT'S IN THE SHOP FOR THE 3RD TIME IN 4 WEEKS.
