I was driving down the interstate during a rainstorm when my windshield wipers stopped working. It made it impossible to see. It continued to rain that whole week so I took my car into the shop immediately to get the windshield wipers looked at and had to get a rental car in the meantime since I could not drive without the windshield wipers with it raining in North Carolina the whole week. I also needed the rental car to get to work while the car was in the shop. I recieved a call from the Chevy dealership and they said there had been a recall on the a part related to the windshield wipers and that the issue with my wipers was due to that part failing. I have never recieved information from Chevy on the recall for the windshield wiper part. If I would have known I would have gotten it replaced to avoid the issues I have had to go through. Because I could not see when my windshield wipers failed it not only put me at risk but others on the road. It was very sudden and scary. The vehicle has been inspected and fixed by the manufacturer. There was no warning signs, it was very random. I was able to get the part fixed for free but the part had to be ordered by the chevy dealership and I had to have my rental car for two days. It was a very expensive fix, although the part was replaced, because I had to have the rental car. It was $388.54 for the rental car.

My Front Windshield Wipers are not working, they went out on me after an ice storm here in Kentucky. I took to Chevrolet Rock- Royal Oaks here in Paducah Kentucky where they tested a motor recall part as working and stated I needed an engine harness wiring junction block after paying $160 for them to check this and there is no part available to fix the issue because it’s currently on back order. With no known information on when it will be available. Unfortunately I got caught in the rain yesterday with no wipers.

Timing chain tensioner lost tension and timing chain got so loose it would not turn the cams and catastrophic engine valve damage was done! This engine is notorious for this and there are class action lawsuits as a result but no recalls from GM as yet only TSB’s (Technician Service Bulletins). This is going to cost me thousands in repairs and I still owe $8500 on it. If this happens in traffic it could pose a serious safety risk in addition to the financial burden it is causing many people! Mine fortunately happened in my driveway and the vehicle had to be towed to my mechanic and has been there for 3 weeks. Have had rental vehicle costs as well. He had 3 other 2010-‘16 GM 4 cylinder 2.4L Ecotec engines in his small shop with the exact same issue! After doing research it is a common issue and GM has done nothing to solve it!

The timing chain went down i only have 95000 miles on it is heard these timing chains went down on. Certain equinox i feel this should of been on a recall since chevy knew this was happening 3 000 dollars later

AS I WAS DRIVING, AN ERROR CAME ON MY DASHBOARD STATING, "REDUCED ENGINE POWER". THE FASTEST I COULD DRIVE WAS 25 MPH, THEN YOU COULDN'T DRIVE AT ALL. I TOOK THE VECHILE TO THE MECHANIC AND HE STATED THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULTY OIL PUMP AND MOTOR.

We have had nothing but issues with our Chevrolet equinox. The recall that says it is not fixed is actually fixed!! There was no fix when it malfunctioned in the middle of a rain storm and I had to drive an hour and a half very slowly to get home! So we had to have a fixed for it so we took it to motor Inn in Carroll, Iowa, and they put a new windshield wiper on! How did they expect us to go without windshield wipers when they didn’t have a fix at the time? And now we are having issues with our transmission. Our car starts to jerk and lurch forward when we’re driving. It is constantly having the check engine light come on because the engine is burning oil! And sometimes when you shut the vehicle off, it’ll try starting itself again! If you look at all the used car lots around us. It’s nothing but Chevy equinox and I’m betting it’s because people are having so many problems they’re getting rid of them.! I was driving home after picking up my grandson. He was playing on his iPad, and all of I heard something that sounded like a gun shot. Huge pop noise. I didn't know what it was, drove home, didn't think anything of it as I had my grandson. Started to drive my car again and it sounded like there was a door or window open. I check. Nothing. Then thought of the sunroof. Came to a stop and looked at it. Sure enough it shattered. Popped up. Glass is still intact. But shattered.

I have a 2015 Chevy equinox LS. I have had 4 incidents recently of when coming to a stop the car dies. this has happened at red lights and stop signs. one of the incidents a car almost crashed into the rear of my car because of it dying at a red light. the car does not make any noises when this occurs. the car does not display any warning messages. the car does not have any warning lights come on. after the vehicle dies without warning, it does crank back immediately when I turn the ignition to start it. the vehicle has been maintenance regularly since I purchased the car in November 2023. again there was no warning messages nor warning lights displayed at anytime to warn me or tell me what the issue is....I am an avid user of the Chevrolet app as well as have OnStar membership and the information on the app doesn't show anything regarding issues or warnings occuring.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 70 MPH in the rain, the windshield wipers became inoperable. The contact's wife pulled to the side of the road for a while and then continued driving. The contact stated that he was an independent mechanic and had diagnosed that the windshield wipers ball joints were fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V165000 (Visibility) which he related to the failure. The dealer was notified of the repair that was performed prior to the safety recall and sent a claim along with the part receipt to the manufacturer for reimbursement. The contact later followed up with the dealer, who referred him to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the reimbursement claim was denied. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Hello, on September 5, 2025 I was driving my 2015 Chevy equinox. I was in a collision while driving my 2015 equinox going at a speed of 60 mph on a highway. On the day of the collision i hit a cargo truck that was carrying vehicles an it completely destroyed the front of my 2015 chevy equinox despite the severity of the impact. None of the airbags deployed. Fortunately me and my daughter did not sustain any injuries but I agree strongly that air bags should have deployed by the severity and location of the impact. This could have been more dangerous if someone else had been in the vehicle or if the wreck was slightly worse. My vehicle was viewed by the police at scene but no one else. There was no warning lights or messages prior to the accident. I am submitting this report because I believe the airbag system may have failed and I wanna make sure this is investigated I still have the vehicle and can provide photos and further details if needed.

There is a warning to service airbag. I took to dealership there is a recall on thus issue for certain vins, but not mine. They said my sensor under passenger seat is defective and would cost $1800+ to fix. I don't understand if this is a known issue and recall for some vehicles...why not mine?

Drivers seat back rest air bag randomly deployed when I was in park, in my driveway taking my seat belt. Bruised my arm/ side of body pretty good. I had no idea how that could happen however, I connected my scanner tool to the car and come to find out I had 7 air bag/srs codes. After that happened all of my seat belts locked up, and per the scanner, it says a few other air bags have deployed but they haven't. This happened a while ago, (wife's car) and I haven't had time to reach out about it. I still drive it just to work and back but I disconnected the srs module in fear of the air bags the scanner tool said deployed WILL deploy while I'm driving. No previous codes or air bag light were shown before that occurred along with no previous repairs or modifications at the time were done besides regular maintenence. Hasn't been inspected but the light is still on, they're hard codes that can't be cleared, and the deployed air bag/seat back cover is still present.

I just purchased the vehicle she hadn't even driven it 2 months when it started to shut off on it's on. Causing very dangerous situations. Then the oil consumption problem that's been well known and heavily documented time after time. Without warning lights or low oil pressure light or even a check engine light to give any type of warning the front seal blew out causing heavy oil loose that caused the engine bay and over the bottom of the vehicle drenching areas that have really high temperatures that could have caused the oil to possibly ignite at any time from the high heated areas that was covered in oil. Also with front seal blown out without warning led to timming chain becoming faulty and then breaking leading to my valves impacting with pistons because this is a interference engine. The impact caused every valve to bend which led to no compression and without compression no engine will start without compression. All this consumption issue is due to piston rings that are under sized which allows blow by leading to consumption. After all that the price of everything to be fixed at home by myself cost almost $1000 and many man hours not including all the time I have a vehicle that's new to me that I haven't been able to drive but just a few months after purchasing. Checker knows these problems exists and how dangerous these problems can be. You would think a car manufacturer as big as Chevrolet and GMC would do something to help there customers rather than not even showing any kind of care really in the world. I thought these companies stand by there products.

excessive Oil Consumption problem- which we were not aware of and it caused our vehicle to shut down in the middle of the street blocking traffic- making it a huge safety issue & should be a recall. Due to the excessive oil consumption that caused our timing chain to break. This is an issue that chevy knew was happening to this year & other years around the same time, but never informed us - now it needs a new engine & they won't replace it. It only has 88,000 miles, we had recently changed the oil & oil filter so this was unexpected.

My 2015 Chevy Equinox is burning oil at an alarming rate. I just found out I have been driving this car with NO oil. I had no indicator lights come on warning me of any danger. I have only 68000 miles on this car and they are telling me I need a new engine. I still owe $15,000 on this car that I have only had for 8 months...and they want me to pay $9000.00 for a new engine on a defect that GM knows about. My [XXX] drives this car (well I won't let him now) but what if the engine blew while he was driving? This is a VERY DANGEROUS defect and people can get seriously hurt. Timing chain broke at 150,000 miles. I have only had the car for a year and a half. This is a known issue for the 2015 Equinox and the warranty company doesn't want to cover it, even though I have a 2 year 24,000 warranty on it. I have only driven 19,000 miles so I'm clearly within the window.

My car has been parked due to problems starting. I have had mechanics look at it and it is a timing chain issue or engine replacement issue. Oil has been a consistent problem with my car even though I routinely get oil changes and there are no leaks beneath the car. I have to keep oil and a funnel in my car to add as necessary. The console never indicates low oil.

Driving my SUV it shut off and would not start. When I was at a red light my car would totally shut off. I finally got it started when I returned home at shut off again I had to call a tow company to take it to Winter Haven Chevrolet Center. They stated it was intake cam solenoid replaces valve 0.736 also the mechanic stated they had to perform induction system cleaning service.It's very dangerous driving my vehicle then the vehicle just shuts off and die almost caused an accident. I need to know if there is a recall I had to spend $828.51. I would appreciate if somebody would get back with me on this.

VEHICLE BATTERY DIES, CAR DIES. NO THEM OR REASON TO IT. IT WILL NOT START. BATTERY IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. TRY TO START THE VEHICLE AND NOTHING, NO INTERIOR LIGHTS RADIO, NOTHING. Rear Main Seal has blown out due to the PCV Valve intake issue. GM is not taking any ownership in the known issue which is service bulletin 14882 that appears to have been issued in 2019. No coverage for repair no recall but a class action lawsuit for all these consumers affected.

The transfer case blew out. (2) in seven months. Every mechanic that has looked at it says that the bearings sheered and caused metal fragments into the gears causing the transfer case to fail. There was no warning when this happened, no dash lights, just severe grinding and I parked the car. The mechanic pulled it into the bay to further investigate and that is when it blew out and all of the fluid poured out. In July, the same thing happened. Had it replaced and 7 months later it happened again. I had only driven the car 15k miles in 7 months when the transfer case blew out again. After reading forums there are many people that have been effected by the transfer case blowing out.

I lost power in the middle of a clover leaf intersection without any previous indicator lights. I was barely able to get to a small shoulder and almost got hit by other vehicles. I was able to restart the car and get to a safer location. The timing chain was failing amd the engine oil was gummy according to the mechanic. I was barely over 100,000 miles. Vehicle oil had been regularly maintained with Mobil 1 15,000 mile oil and never showed as low during checks. Throttle body was covered with carbon and the codes came back for the VVT. Timing chain was replaced but the engine lost compression a few months later. All known issues with this engine and I lost tens of thousands on GM’s negligence. Not to mention the dangerous driving situation I was put in with absolutely no warning.I have been sick over the situation for a fee years but thought maybe the information could help others avoid the same fate. Repair total was $9000 plus because so many of the same model was having problems and there was a shortage of replacement engines. Auto part stores started selling crate engines because of the know issues with this engine.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, which I purchased used approximately one year ago. Since acquiring the vehicle, I have experienced severe and excessive oil consumption as well as ongoing fuel injector problems. Specifically, the vehicle requires additional oil every 100 to 200 miles, which is far beyond what is considered normal or acceptable for a properly functioning engine. I have not noticed any external oil leaks, and there are no warning indicators until the oil levels are dangerously low. This not only puts the engine at risk of damage, but also presents a potential safety hazard while driving. In addition to the oil issue, I have experienced fuel injector malfunctions which affect the car’s performance and reliability. This has resulted in rough idling, reduced fuel efficiency, and difficulty accelerating at times. I have come to learn that many other owners of the 2015 Chevy Equinox are reporting the same issues, particularly with excessive oil consumption related to engine design flaws. I believe this is a manufacturing defect that should be addressed by GM and reported as a recall or service campaign due to its widespread impact and potential risk to drivers. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this matter further to determine whether a recall is warranted and to encourage General Motors to take responsibility for this recurring issue. the 2015 equinox has been serviced and maintenance regularly. The engine's timing chain failed at 73k miles. No explanation on why. I was told even though I do maintenance regularly, it just happens in these vehicle. i now need a new engine not under warranty

Engine cut off while driving. Happens while driving slow or fast, side road or highway. No check engine light. Timing chain issue, $2500 fix. I've had the car 6 months, only 77,500 miles. I do not feel safe in this vehicle any more. RECALL THIS before people have to bury their families due to your faulty parts. Thank goodness no accidents resulted in my 4 experiences.

MY VEHICLE STALLED RECENTLY WHEN I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY COMING TO A STOP.. PRIOR TO THE STALL WHEN I TURNED MY CAR ON IT MADE A TICK SOUND BUT DROVE OK UNTIL IT STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AND DROVE HOME. WHEN I CHECKED THE OIL THERE IT WAS EMPTY. I WAS WELL UNDER THEM TIME BEFORE I NEEDED MY NEXT OIL CHANGE. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A PISTON AND RING ISSUE THAT WAS THE SAME THING DESCRIBED IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT INVOLVING 2010-2013 EQUINOX. BECAUSE MINE IS A 2015 I RECEIVED SOME COST ASSISTANCE BUT PAID $1200 OUT OF POCKET FOR THE FIX. SEEMS LIKE GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT HAS NOT LET CONSUMERS KNOW ABOUT THIS SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS UPSET BECAUSE I DRIVE WITH MY CHILDREN WHO ARE 3 AND 1. GM NEEDS TO TELL THEIR CONSUMERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

The vehicle stopped running. We brought it to the mechanic. The mechanic confirmed that it is a high-pressure fuel pump malfunction and a known issue with these vehicles. All the oil has leaked out because of this issue, which could cause a fire. There is a huge charge to replace this and the spark plugs which were affected by the leak. There is a recall for certain 2015 equinox is because of this very issue, however ours is not covered for some reason. We would like to make a formal complaint so that our vehicle can be covered under this issue like the other 2015 equinox with a high-pressure fuel pump malfunction.

Fuel shut off does not work properly, extra fuel will spill out before the station's gas nozzle shuts off. Happens at every gas station, every time. Spilling fuel is a significant safety issue and environmental concern. Very surprised there hasn't been a recall yet.

MY 2015 CHEVY EQUINOX BEGAN STALLING AND IDLING LOW TO THE POINT THAT SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING WOULD CAUSE A STALLING ISSUE; GOING IN REVERSE WOULD CAUSE A STALLING ISSUE; PUTTING IT IN PARK WOULD CAUSE A STALLING ISSUE. SOMETIMES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON, BUT MOST TIMES IT DID NOT. THE VEHICLE MAINTAINS A REGULAR OIL CHANGE AND MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE YET THIS PROBLEM, WHICH WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST, BEGAN HAPPENING EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN. The contact stated that the roof handle separated, causing his friend to fall back on the seat. The contact's friend did not sustain any injuries. My 2015 Equinox has about 90k miles. Today the lift gate (automatic) started to not stay open. It would open fully and slowly fall. After a few minutes, it would close. About 1 hour later, the tail gate will open, start to close, try to open and then closed quickly. I was under the door and could not hold the door open. If I hadn't moved, I would have lost an arm.

My car received an oil changed recently and then shortly after my engine went completely out due to having no oil. My timing chain stretched out and broke resulting in no compression to my engine. The light didn’t even come on to indicate that there was an issue until after the car completely broke down.

I was driving down interstate and engine failed due to manufacturer malfunction Excessive Oil consumption Defect. I safely pulled off interstate to avoid injury to myself or others due to engine malfunction. There were not any pre warning lamps only post warning lamps.GM dealer determined catastrophic engine failure #2 cylinder misfire. Engine needs replaced.

my 2015 Chevrolet equinox 2.4l ecotec AWD vehicle with 102k miles had a massive oil leak in jan.2022, when it was -22 deg. f outside. The car was at work outside, and my drive home was about 7 miles. When I got home, I decided to check the oil on the dipstick and it was empty. The whole underside of the chasis was oil splattered. I added 3 quarts of oil and started the car up and oil was poring out of the rear main seal. I trailered it to a chevrolet dealer, and they said the pvc frozen up. The engine and subframe will need to come out.This was an expensive repair. This vehicle does burn oil. It does not leak oil thou. The engine oil light never came on during the ride home. I am glad I checked the oil, because the engine would have quit running on the freeway somewhere.

Issue with oil consumption on this vehicle. Needs 2 quarts of new oil every 2-3 weeks with moderate driving. Mechanics say this is a known issue with Chevrolet Equinox’s since 2011. The only true fix is to replace the engine and even then the problem can reoccur with new engines. I have joined a Facebook page called “Terrain-Equinox Oil Consumption Recall” with thousands of members experiencing same issue. There is no assistance from dealerships to assist in covering repair costs. There was a limited recall for model year 2013 but same issues are present in 2014’s and 2015’s as well. There are also many complaints about on this issue on this bursa website. Looking for any assistance.

The brake system is locking up different wheels because the module thinks traction has been lost. This caused my daughter to spin around and go off the road. The part is on back order through gm - I have tried to obtain one from other sources with no luck - all the parts places I spoke to have been waiting on these for months which tells me there is a lot of cars affected.

The HVAC actuator broke off preventing air flow from defrosting the windshield while I was driving through a snow storm. Because this piece failed my windshield was fogged over and I continually having to reach up to the windshield wiping fog off in order to see. In the conditions it was dangerous for myself and other drivers that I was unable to see clearly. The mechanic at Division Auto Clinic says he replaces these actuators all the time on GM vehicles. The vehicle was repaired (see invoice) costing me $300 to fix. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the problem.

I THEN PUT BOTH FEET ON BREAK PEDAL AND PUSHED AS HARD AS I COULD AT THAT POINT I KEPT BOTH FEET ON BREAK PEDAL UNTIL I GOT CAR OFF THE ROAD AND STOPPED AT THAT TIME I PUT CAR IN PARK. Ending result timing chain : Beginning of result: 1. My vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of power steering while driving at highway speeds. The loss of power steering significantly compromised the driver's ability to maneuver the vehicle safely, especially during emergency situations, putting both the driver and other road users at risk of an accident. 2. Traveling at high way speeds my car suddenly lost complete power to go. Keep going up and down in speed in middle of interstate 3. No warning signs prior no check engine line appeared until after the safety risk above.

I have a 2015 Chevy Equinox LT, I had my car repair engine light came on all lights on dash lite service warning for ABS, Traction control, StabiliTrak and steering wheel, and when I would stop the car would stall. I took to Chevy dealership and had serviced. The intake valve was replaced covered under warranty, and the ECM (engine control module) replaced. Car seemed fine after 1 1/2 years service StabiliTrak came on and off , I had issues with low fuel mileage, only check engine light came on once and then right off again after I had the spark plugs replaced the outtake valve replaced no check engine light , regular oil changes. One day the Service StabiliTrak light came on and did not come off. This has been going on for 6 months I was driving and my car started jumping when I came to a stop, no lights came on. I continued to drive and when I parked my car sounded like a mac truck and was shaking and had the smell of burning oil or gas. I parked a 2 hours later I started it the same sound and smell along with the check engine light I looked under my car and there was oil dripping, I stopped and add oil and was able to drive home slowly. I parked over night I started it and drove around the block I turned off and then waited a minute turned back on opened the hood and the engine was shaking loud and reduced engine power message came up. I am at a loss I do not have money to fix this it is a 2015 no warranties are even covered over this issue if they are able to figure out what this is. I looked all over the internet and so many people have this problem I don't understand why it is not recalled or there is no class action against GM for this

The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the TPMS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road where the contact observed that the passenger’s side rear tire was flat. The contact stated that Roadside Assistance plugged the rear passenger's side tire and noticed that the passenger’s side front tire was also flat. The tires were replacement tires. We bought 4 new tires size 225/65/R17 on 3/16/2021 mileage 72413. We noticed a vibration on our car and found the belt had separated. On 3/15/2023 we went and they replaced the tire. Mileage On 91816. 8/12/2023 another tire did the same thing and had to have it replaced. Mileage 95407. The other two tires went on 9/06/2023. Mileage 95926. total mileage on those tires 23513 and they were suppose to be good for 65,000 miles. The tires were bought from Tire Kingdom in Lake Wales, Florida. I do have all the receipts if needed.

ON OCTOBER 16, 2020 I WAS PARKED AT WALMART GETTIN READY TO TURN ON MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND DRIVE MY DAUGHTER AND I HOME UNTIL WHEN I TURNED ON MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS THEY WOULDN'T WORK. SO I THEN WENT BACK INSIDE FOR SOME RAIN-X (WHICH DIDN'T HELP MUCH CUZ IT WAS RAINING AND RAIN-X IS SUPPOSED TO BE APPLIED TO A DRY WINDSHIELD) JUST SO I COULD GET US AND OUR GROCERIES HOME. THANK THE LORD WE MADE IT HOME SAFE, GROCERIES IN TACT!!! FOR THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS....I CHANGE MY FLUIDS ON A REGULAR BASIS YET EVERY WEEK FOR THE PAST BOUT 8 MONTHS NOW AS I SLOW DOWN GOING UPHILL TO PULL INTO MY FATHER IN LAW'S DRIVEWAY THE TRANSMISSION JERKS. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS DURING THE PAST FEW MONTHS, THE WINDSHIELD ON MY 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX BECAME EXTREMELY FOGGED UP, SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASING VISIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER ABLE TO DEFROST OR CLEAR THE CONDENSATION UP, NO MATTER WHAT SELECTION WAS MADE ON THE HEAT/AIR CONDITIONING SETTING(S). APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK AGO, WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH AN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE OF APPROXIMATELY 45 DEGREES F, THE WINDSHIELD AGAIN BECAME EXTREMELY FOGGED UP. THIS TIME, THE WINDSHIELD CONDENSATION/FOG HAD BECOME SO SEVERE THAT I WAS UNABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD AND OTHER PASSENGER WINDOWS AT ALL AND WAS FORCED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO CONTINUE DRIVING WITH NO VISIBILITY. THANKFULLY, I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY AT THIS POINT AND WAS ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY PULL OFF THE ROADWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND DIAGNOSED WITH A 'HEATER CORE FAILURE.' THE FAILURE OF THE HEATER CORE IS WHAT CAUSES THE EXTREME CONDENSATION BUILD UP AND FOGGING OF THE INTERIOR WINDSHIELD AND WINDOWS. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY A 2015 AND I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED WITH THE PREMATURE FAILURE(S) OF AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT AFFECTS VISIBILITY AND COMPROMISES SAFETY TO MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS, AND OTHERS ON THE ROADWAY.

I DRIVE MY CAR EVERYDAY. IT HAS SEAT HEATERS IN THE FRONT SEATS. I HAVE CLOTH SEATS. I WAS NOTICING THAT WHENEVER I TURNED MY SEAT WARMER ON, IT WAS GETTING REALLY HOT IN ONE SPECIFIC PLACE AND MADE MY LEG BURN. ONE DAY, I LOOKED AT MY LEG AFTER I GOT OUT AND THERE WAS A SMALL BURN ON MY LEG. I LOOKED AT THE SEAT AND THERE WAS A SMALL BURN MARK/ HOLE THROUGH MY SEAT. I DO NOT TURN THE HEATERS ON ANYMORE, OBVIOUSLY. HOWEVER, SOMETIMES IT COMES ON ON ITS OWN AND GETS SUPER HOT AND I CAN'T TURN IT OFF. SO, I HAD TO START DRIVING WITH A BLANKET UNDER ME SO I DIDN'T GET BURNED. I WAS SCARED THE BLANKET WAS GOING TO CATCH FIRE, SO I TOOK IT TO A SHOP TO GET LOOKED AT. THEY SAID IT HAD SHORT CURCUITED AND THAT I SHOULD CHECK TO SEE IF THE SEATS HAD BEEN RECALLED. I CALLED CHEVERLET AND ALL THEY TOLD ME WAS THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL AND BASICALLY SAID 'THAT SUCKS'. My vehicle has been cranking when trying to turn on. Sometimes when it does turn on, it will engage the anti theft system. It will also turn on my 4-ways, and windshield wipers other times without me triggering these buttons. Sometimes it will say that I don’t have power steering. Other times, my AC will not work. It puts me and my family at risk because if the system is continuously having issues, I worry that something bad will happen while we are driving! I saw that there are other similar complaints online for the 2015 Chevy equinox. I have no dashboard lights on, other than tire pressure light (which my tire pressure is fine, but the sensor for this has malfunctioned as well). This has been an ongoing and worsening issue since January 2024. I purchased the vehicle with no issues in December 2023.

My car runs hot (even with all of my fluids). If I drive "too far" (25-30 mins) driving over 55mph while it's hot outside, my check engine light comes on, all the gauges in my car start going back and forth. A couple different alarms will go off (Service All Wheel Drive System, Service StabiliTrak, Service Park Assist) . My engine revs and my car will start jerking. Sometimes my car won't even start back up right away. My car jerks going up hills. For close to two years my radio and back up camera stopped working, and out of nowhere it started working fine. My tires often lose air. My windshield wiper motor has gone out twice.

The incident except for by my 2015 Chevrolet Equinox has major electrical faulty ends in and timing belt changes which causes the vehicle to stall on a consumer at any time for me I was driving on a major highway or five Lanes going to work and the car decided to slow down and started shedding off thank God that I made it to the far right side on a media strip and was able get the car to safety on the knee issue but she did slow down and shut off identity media call the triple A for help and roadside assistance they came as soon as they could and then test the car to see if it was the battery or the alternator which I had put in two brand new batteries and two brand new alternators and still have both he test them all and said no he's been pulling cars off major highways that are Equinox and terrain class action lawsuit against General motors in Chevrolet due to faulty issues in the engine and they recently One cases from 2010 to 2014 although my car is a 2015 the same issue still arise my car has 85,000 miles on it when this happens and I kept up the oil change and the maintenance on the car I then in turn had the car towed to a Chevrolet dealer and turned it a diagnostic test on my car vehicle and this is what they said in my car has the same issue that is from the previous lawsuit of Equinox 2010 to 2014. Have the results are as is fun the Chevrolet GMC dealer the vehicle will not start, the problem and issues extend from the timing belt chain, valves, blown gasket, fuel pump,this is causing many major issues along with all the recalls with the 2010 and 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and Terrain. The only thing that they recommend is that the car engine needs to replacement to make consumers feel safe in their vehicles. Although my car is a 2015 I only have 85,000 miles and I continue to do all the maintenance and I was told by another mechanic that it does not have nothing to do so much as the oil change they knew that there were faulty issues with timingbelt

MY VEHICLE HAD TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING IT SPUTTERED A BIT THE SHUT OFF.. I STARTED IT BACK UP THEN I DROVE HOME AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING DAY. The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle decelerated unintendedly and jerked violently. The contact stated that the failure recurred consistently while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, and the contact was informed that fuel was not reaching the engine. The dealer determined that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact stated that upon towing the vehicle back to the dealer, the dealer replaced the fuel pump. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal loud sound. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the timing chain had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact sent an email to the CEO of GM, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

My car had no advance warning as was supposed to for low oil levels. I was driving highway speed during rush hour when I hear a loud bang my car jolts to a stop and I’m left stranded. The car was only 5 years old and 100,000 miles. The bang was the engine that blew due to a major oil consumption or leak issue with the 2.4 and the transmission also burnt and needed replaced as well. I bought used and did not even make the first payment.

ON 4-14-29 MY CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAD IT TAKEN IN TO A GM DEALERSHIP ON 4-15-19 AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE THRU THE PISTON RINGS THAT HAS CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. THERE PROPOSAL WAS EITHER A $3500 FIX OR A NEW ENGINE FOR $7000. I CALLED GM MYSELF (COMPAINT REFERENCE #[XXX]) AND THEY STATED THAT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION BUT THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED ON THE RECALL LIST TO HAVE IT FIXED. THEY INFORMED ME TO SAVE RECIEPTS UPON PAYMENT FOR ANY REPAIRS I HAD DONE INCASE LATER IN THE FUTURE THERE WAS A RECALL. I WAS ADVISED TO DISCUSS MY ISSUE WITH THE CUSTOMER EXPERIECE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR SOME RESOLUTION. UPON DISCUSSION WITH THEM THEY STATED THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AT THIS TIME AS THEY CAN ONLY FIX "KNOWN" ISSUE WITH PERMISSION FROM GM. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO ADVISED THAT IT WOULD BE RIDICULOUS FOR ME TO PAY $7000 TO HAVE ANOTHER ENGINE ADDED INTO MY VEHICLE AS THIS ENGINE WOULD MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. THEY ADVISED ME TO RENT A CAR UNTIL I COULD DECIDE WHAT TO DO. THE RENTAL CAR WAS $55/DAY EQUALING TO $1650 A MONTH WHICH IS NOT FEASIBLE. I HAD TO PICK UP MY CAR TODAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AS I NEED TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORK AS I WORK 45MIN AWAY AND THERE IS NOT ANOTHER OPTION AT THIS TIME. I WAS GIVEN A PAPER WITH DETAILS OF WORK NEEDED FROM DEALERSHIP THAT I WILL SAVE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. ON MY WAY HOME MY CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AGAIN. IT DOES INDEED TURN OVER AND RESTART ONCE DEAD, BUT THIS POSES A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD TO NOT ONLY MYSELF BUT OTHER DRIVERS ON THE STREET AS WELL. ON DEC 31, 2020 I STRUCK A DEER ON A COUNTY RD GOING APPROX 45MPH. THE IMPACT WAS SO HARD THE DRIVE TRAIN WAS SHOVED INTO THE CAR AND THE RADIATOR EXPLODED AND THE ENTIRE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WAS DESTROYED. NEITHER PASS. NOR DRIVERS SIDE DOORS WOULD OPEN. THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS YET THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE BUT YOU COULD SEE A WHITE POWDERY SMOKE AND IT SMELL AS IF THEY DID AND THE CAR NOW SAYS SERVICE AIRBAGS. ALSO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT NEVER RETRACTED BACK AND MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE BOTH INJURED AS I WAS SLAMMED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL SUFFERING DAMAGE TO MY CHEST AND FACE AND HER HEAD/ FACE BOUNCED OFF THE DASH DUE TO THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING AND THE SEATBELTS NOT WORKING. I JUST PURCHASED A USED 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX FROM RICK HENDRICKS CHEVY DULUTH. SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I NOTICED LOUD NOISES COMING FROM THE BRAKES WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT WHILE DRIVING IT MAKES A KNOCKING SOUND. I WAS TOLD BY ONE OF THERE MECHANICS IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT IT WAS OK! THE EQUINOX IS KNOWN TO MAKE A LITTLE NOISE WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS BEEN TO THERE SHOP OVER 3 TIMES FOR SEVERAL DAYS AT A TIME IN LESS THAN A MONTH AND STILL THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. THEY EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THEY FIXED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE NOISE WAS GONE AND THE BRAKES WERE IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION. WHEN I ASKED FOR PROOF THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE IT. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME, THE FIRST TIME NO CRUISE WAS BEING USED. I HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL TO GAIN CONTROL AGAIN. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT CHEVY DEALER BEING CHECKED. IT WAS EXTREMELY ROUGH AND FRIGHTENING FOR MY DAUGHTER AND I. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION FOR IT. SINCE THEN, IT HAS HAPPENED SPORADICALLY, AT LEAST 5 MORE TIMES AT ANY GIVEN SPEED AND SAME CONDITIONS AS ABOVE. I HAVE SINCE TURNED OFF THE FEATURE (FORTUNATELY AN OPTION). IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN DRIVING BEHIND ME ANY OF THESE TIMES, THERE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN A REAR END COLLISION. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO BE CHECKED OUT TO NO AVAIL. THERE ARE NO CODES, THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT, SO "THERE'S NO ISSUE" ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. EXCESSIVE Oil Consumption after 87,000 miles. Always had regular/up-to-date oil changes and took care of the vehicle. Had an oil change in June 2023 and in August (not may miles driven in that time frame), while driving I noticed the vehicle started to jerk...after arriving at work I checked under the hood and noticed there was NO OIL on the stick. I also added some antifreeze since I was there and it needed just a little. Purchased oil and filled it up. Two weeks later...again, no OIL on the stick. Less than 200 miles driven during this time. Now checking my oil every 3 days. October 2023, check engine light came on--took it to get checked and was told I was out of antifreeze. This was the only issue they could locate...no blown gaskets, etc. The AutoZone put antifreeze in to the level it should be and the next day I was almost empty again. This was well under 90 miles driven. There are NO WARNINGS, EXPENSIVE TO KEEP BUYING OIL AND ANTIFREEZE--RISK OF ENGINE BLOWING, BREAKING DOWN-GOD FORBID I HAVE MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. Two years ago the wipers went...heavy storm and they just all of a sudden stopped. Couldnt even see to pull over. Had my three kids with me and had to put the window down to try to see how I could pull over. I didnt know until a while later there was a recall. Numerous electrical issues....radio stops working when it wants too. Backup camera sometimes stays on while driving down the road, the driver side rear door won't unlock all the time.

Vehicle is stalling when stopping and starting to go. Service engine light came on had it it scanned, found it to be the camshaft position sensor. Called my local dealer as to find out if there is any recall on this, and they said that there is not. I believe there should be a recall on this part as is it is a safety issue, as stated the vehicle was stalling and you lose all power. When starting to pull out in traffic you will be left with no power as the engine stalls and you have to put the vehicle in neutral and restart it.

In July/August 2021, the driver side windshield wiper got stuck mid-swipe. The only way to get it to go down was to physically move it. I was driving on the interstate in the middle of a downpour. Had to pull over several times on the way home because periodically it would move back up and get stuck. When it wasn't stuck I had to lean to the right to see out of the right side of the windshield to get home. For about 20 miles. My husband figured out the issue and purchased the malfunctioning part and repaired it. In December 2021, my engine seized at a stoplight. I coaxed the car out of the way and got it on the side of the road. The only warning to this was an occasional "ticking" noise, that never seemed to happen when my husband listened to it. We assumed it was the timing chain, but after having it towed to the dealer we were told it was an "oil consumption" issue. The "oil life" alert had been on for about a month, and I had planned on getting an oil change the weekend this happened. However, little did I know that the vehicle had ZERO oil in it. The low oil pressure light never came on. As a matter of fact no warning lights ever came on. The vehicle is now sitting at the dealership, unmoving because the fix is $8300.

THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DID NOT FULLY INFLATE DUE TO METAL FRAGMENTS THAT WERE SHOT OUT CAUSING A PUNCTURE TO THE AIR BAG AND THOSE FRAGMENTS CAUSED PUNCTURE WOUNDS TO MY ARM, AND CRACKED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WINDOW. I WAS NOT IN A COLLISION AT THAT TIME. I HAVE THE REPORT FROM MY INSURANCE WHERE IT STATES THIS CAR HAD A RECALL FOR AIR BAG ISSUES ONE BEING THAT OBJECTS MAY CAUSE INJURY AND OR DEATH FROM SHOOTING OUT. I HAD TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JUNE DUE TO THE STABILITIES AND SERVICE AIR BAGS LIGHT WAS ON. THIS WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE AND ANY OTHER TIME I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICES. AFTER INVESTIGATION THRU MY INSURANCE IT WAS DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS. I AM NOW BEING TOLD BY LOCAL MECHANIC THAT I MAY NEED A NEW ENGINE. I WAS INFORMED BY LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT TIMING SHAFT AND ACTUATOR MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED JUST TO GET THE CAR TO START. THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM IS THE SAME AS THE EXISTING PROBLEM IN CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR 2010-2013 MODELS. CHEVROLET HAS BUILT AN ENGINE THAT DOESN'T WORK AND THEY NEED TO PAY FOR THIS. 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH WHEN SUNROOF SHATTERED. I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND DID NOT SEE ANYTHING THAT COULD HAVE HIT MY CAR. I PULLED THE COVER BACK ON THE SUNROOF TO SEE IF I COULD SEE WHAT HAPPENED. THE ONLY THING I COULD SEE WAS GLASS CRACKED INTO A MILLION PIECES. THE SUNROOF SHATTERED OUT OF NO WHERE. GLASS FLEW OFF THE TOP OF MY SUV WHILE OTHER DRIVERS WERE BEHIND ME, WHICH PUT MANY DRIVERS IN DANGER. FIRST MY WIPERS STOP WORKING OUT OF THE BLUE AND NOW MY SUNROOF SHATTERS. HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE ON AND OFF FOR 3 YEARS. CHEVY ON STAR DIAGNOSTICS PROVIDES ERROR CODES THAT POINT TO TCM, ECM AND ABS-BREAKING AND STABILITY SYSTEM. CHEVY DEALERS ARE NEVER ABLE TO COME TO RESOLUTION AND PIN DOWN WHAT IS WRONG. ISSUE KEEPS HAPPENING. ALSO I BROUGHT IT TO DEALERSHIPS ATTENTION THAT THE LIGHTS GO DIM WHEN STARTING. INSIDE AND OUT. I TRULY BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I'M NOT ALONE I HAVE READ NUMEROUS REPORTS ON PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD TO GET A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER SOURCE. DESIGN FLAW BETWEEN THE PEDALS AND THE SEAT HAVE CAUSED ME TO HAVE SCIATIC PAIN. I HAD THE CAR JUST SHORT OF 2 YEARS BECAUSE I COULDN'T TAKE THE PAIN ANYMORE. THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE PEDALS BOTH VERTICALLY AND HORIZONTALLY ARE A PROBLEM. I ONLY RELATED THE PROBLEM TO THE CAR WHEN I WAS NOT DRIVING THE CAR FOR A THREE WEEK PERIOD, MY PAIN WAS GONE. I STARTED DRIVING THE CAR AGAIN AND THE PAIN RETURNED. I TESTED IT AGAIN, BY RENTING A DIFFERENT VEHICLE FOR A 5 DAY PERIOD AND THE PAIN WENT AWAY AGAIN AND A DAY AFTER RESUMING DRIVING MY EQUINOX THE PAIN RETURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN ADDING FUEL, IT BEGAN TO LEAK OUT OF THE FUEL TERMINAL. MY VEHICLE WAS LEASED JANUARY 19, 2015. I AM WAY UNDER ON MY MILES (2600) AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED BY ME WITH ZERO DAMAGE ANYWHERE. MY VEHICLE WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP FROM JUNE 29, 2015 THE FIRST TIME THE ENGINE STOPPED WHILE DRIVING. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FRO 3 DAYS. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON JULY 6TH AFTER THE SECOND TIME IT STOPPED DEAD IN THE ROADWAY. I WAS CALLED ON AUGUST 12, 2015 THAT THE VEHICLE WAS READY FOR PICK UP AND THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE DEPT. STATES THEY HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE FOR A MERE 58 MILES OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS. THE SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTS I BUY OUT MY LEASE AND JUST SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE. OF COURSE THIS IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME.
