Additionally, on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that during each failure, the key was wiggled in the ignition for approximately 20-30 minutes each time, and the vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was approximately 116,000. The contact stated that a month after the vehicle was purchased, the transmission failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for repair, and it was discovered that the mileage was 131,000. The contact was unable to use the warranty due to the mileage discrepancy.

We had an issue with an error message in the middle of driving that stopped the acceleration of the vehicle, this seems to be common, looking at forums online. The inspection request is acceptable. The message we receive is "Shift to P before changing gears". The vehicle will stop in the middle of traffic and sometimes require a complete restart before being able to shift to drive. This has put myself, my wife, and two children in immense danger as the vehicle can stop at any point in time in oncoming traffic. We've taken it to a dealer who inspected the shifter and they didn't see any issues they couldn't replicate the issue happening. Two separate mechanic shops also cannot replicate this issue consistently. it hasn't been inspected these problems didn't have any warning messages prior to the problem occurring.

Sliding doors do not work. Driver side sliding door stopped working 1 month after purchasing from dealership, and passenger door only opens and closes some times. Safety of my family/passengers are affected seriously if there were any accident or failure for passenger door to completely stop working. They will not be able to exit unless crawling to very front of vehicle. Driver sliding door does not open or close at all. Passenger sliding door works 60% of time. I have not taken to a dealer as I cannot afford the cost. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone. No warning signs to let me know the doors would not or will not work. Someone with the same make/mode/year of dodge grand caravan said there was a recall for the sliding door actuators on this year of van and they got theirs fixed because of the recall. This causes a very big concern for me and my van. I need them fixed please. Thank You

Vehicle only has 93,000 miles and has been well maintained. I was was working and the transmission pump failed. It kicked out of gear going 55mph down a road. Could have caused me to have a major accident. Why are these not part of the 2015-2016 transmission recall?

The transmission failed- according to the NTSB there was a recall for 2016 Dodge Caravans for auto transmission pump failures. I was told my vin # didn't match the recalled Vin numbers yet that's what failed on my vehicle costing about 4 thousand for repair work.

Transmission started shifting hard at 98K miles. It died at red lights on occasion. Took to shop and they replaced the transmission solenoid. That fixed it from dying at red lights but vehicle transmission is about to fully go out right at 100K miles. I will never buy another Dodge vehicle.

Dear FCA 06/30/2025 As a dodge owner I have to tell you about my situation, I’m a 2016 Dodge Caravan Owner and love the van, love the stow and go seating and both sides sliding doors and the room. We bought this van because our other vehicles didn’t fit all our grandkids in, so it’s our 3rd vehicle for that use. It was used gingerly and kept in our garage. Well maintained “all oil change, tires and brake record’s” as well as any recalls! and recommended services when recommended like the 2023 tranny flush and filter. Which we had to hunt for a dealership that did .We never had any symptoms or warning lights with the exception of low tire light. In late January 2025 we transferred ownership to my son and daughter in law who just welcomed another baby, boy number 4, so you can imagine they needed the room. At this time the van was around 76,000 for mileage. My daughter in law still on maternity leave takes the boys to the movies in April,2025 comes out and the Van won’t move! Mileage 80,686! This is just crazy and she has to get it towed and guess what they say the transmission is no good and here we are $6000.00 later. I have since talked with several mechanics and FB people who have been in this very situation with Dodge products, Dodge has transmission issues! I have contacted Dodge no response! And the FCA no response! Please respond with what else I can do to further push for some kind of investigation into this! It seems as though the transmission is failing. I read somewhere that 2016 Dodge Grand Caravans have been recalled for transmission issues. I'd like for my VIN be added to that recall list.

The rear sliding doors do not open. Dodge sent me an extended warranty to fix the rear door actuators which fail that cause this issue. But 2 dealerships want $1600 to $2000 to replace the covered part! I cannot afford to fix this extremely hazardous situation of the rear doors not opening. As I have talked to other owners this is a major repaired part that dodge will not repair on their own and a recall must be forced on them.

Sliding door is permanently locked shut and doesn’t open. Have tried to open from outside and inside the car. Will not lock or unlock due to being locked all the time.

The door locking actuator failed. The door will no longer open from the inside or out. It’s essentially stuck locked. There was a loud buzzing noise which now I know was the warning signal for the actuator starting to go bad.

Both back doors have failed lock actuators. I’ve gotten a repair quote of over $1400 per door to get fixed. Both doors buzz and one has actually locked shut. Extremely inconvenient with children.

I bought a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan in December 2019. I just recently learned of a recall for the sliding door actuators. The driver side sliding door stopped working about 3 months after I purchased said vehicle and has never worked since. The passenger sliding door has been having problems since early 2020, about 1 year after purchasing said vehicle. Just recently it (passenger door) has not been closing nor sometimes not opening. I find this as a hazard when I am carrying family/friends, or even myself. If the vehicle were to have a fire, collision, it would be very hard for someone to enter/exit the vehicle. I am asking to have my vehicle repaired as such "recall" was made on my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, and I was not notified by the auto dealer, in person, nor by mail.

The lighting system allowed water to enter the lights, causing them to fail as they filled up (from bottom to top) to the point that they won't properly indicate running lights or brake lights. This failure has been slowly occuring over the course of 4 years until it now fails to pass the safety inspection.

Around Thanksgiving of this year (2022), I noticed that my taillight housing for the center LED Racetrack lighting on my 2016 Dodge Durango was retaining water. I found this odd because light housings are supposed to be sealed and not allow water to enter. If water gets in, the electrical is at risk and lights can be shorted out or even cause an electrical fire. I conducted research and have found that this is a common issue with the Dodge Durango since this model has been sold. Water has been reported all over the internet of rear light housings that have shorted out or caused major issues. If the lights go out, it can cause visibility issues for vehicles behind you. I have noticed that the lights are now flickering on my vehicle in the area where the water settles. The same light housing contains the license plate lights, the back-up camera, and the reverse lights. I have also noticed that the main taillights that have the functioning brake lights and turn signal have had condensation as well. The part to replace this entire one section of lighting and electrical components is around $1,000. I have noticed that a technical bulletin was sent out by Dodge reference the "License Plate LED Light Inoperative - Moisture Visible Within the Lens" but it seems to only apply to the license plate lights. However, I believe the issue is much bigger than just the license plate lights and should be addressed with the manufacturer. Most of the components on this light housing contain lighting that is required by most state laws, especially in Texas, to be functional. The rear license plate lights and the reverse lights must be functional to pass vehicle inspection that is required to register the vehicle every year. Worst case scenario, the entire housing shorts out and the owner is left with a vehicle that has non-functioning license plate lights, reverse camera, and reverse lights.

WATER HAS LEAKED INTO THE "RACE TRACK LIGHTING" ON THE LIFT GATE. THIS IS FROM NORMAL, EVERYDAY DRIVING USE AND CARE. THE LIFT GATE TAIL LIGHTS, AS WELL AS LICENSE PLATE LIGHTING NO LONGER FUNCTION. THIS MAKES MY VEHICLE DANGEROUS, AND ILLEGAL TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I HAVE READ ON MULTIPLE DODGE DURANGO FORUMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, AND ONE DODGE DEALER I SPOKE TO SAID THEY SEE THIS ALL THE TIME. THE PART ALONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS QUOTED AT $1000 BEFORE TAX. TO ME, IT IS CRAZY THAT IT COSTS THIS MUCH SIMPLY TO MAKE MY VEHICLE LEGAL AGAIN, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS A COMMON ISSUE ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH. I FEEL THAT DODGE SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL, AS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, IT'S A SAFETY, AND LEGAL ISSUE, AND IT IS SO EXPENSIVE TO FIX. I BOUGHT A NEWER VEHICLE TO NOT HAVE PROBLEMS, AND IT IS HARD TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD SUCH AN EXPENSIVE FIX WHEN ALL I AM TRYING TO DO IS MAKE MY VEHICLE LEGAL TO DRIVE AGAIN. DODGE NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING, AND TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM THAT HAS PLAGUED MANY OF ITS LOYAL CUSTOMERS.

Was driving and the vehicle stalled well driving, Had a hard time trying to stop and could barley steer the vehicle. Vehicle was flashing shift to park. This has happened two times to me now and I took it to the dealership and it happened to them as well. The radio screen sometimes doesn't light up and it will freeze and won't let you do anything, when cell phone is connected via blue tooth it will disconnect and then reconnect and randomly turn the volume all the way up and music will start playing, A/C will randomly kick on when I didn't have it on due to it being winter time and use only the heat now. rear brake light the race bar part of it is out and Mopar won't replace, Hood of the vehicle has rust bubbles and the lift gate has rust, I asked Mopar about the warranty and they said I missed the expiration date and they would not cover it. Three of the tires keep losing air and I am now on my second set of tires in a year and two months, Valve stems replaced two times as well.

The power sliding rear door on the driver side is stuck in a locked position for 4-5 days now. This has happened previously to our power sliding rear door on the passenger side as well (before the current extended warranty) and we corrected that issue on our own by replacing the door actuator. Now that it has happened again and there is a warranty on it, I took it to the dealership and they are telling me it is not the actuator that is broken but the door rod and latch and quoted $1600 to fix the problem. I personally think this is a deceptive practice to get out of replacing the actuator under the warranty, but I am not a mechanic. It sure is suspicious though seeing as the rod and latch are linked to the actuator. This is very dangerous and could cost lives if the vehicle was full of passengers who needed to exit quickly and the door was jammed shut. The fact that it is so closely related to the actuator that already has an extended warranty is a cause for concern.

Passenger sliding doors will not open. In december 2021 Dodge dealership seemingly fixed issue. It is now 2023 and the doors will not open again. This is very dangerous as I have two small children. The costs for these repairs were very expensive and unfortunately hasn't even lasted 2 years. I now have to pay out of pocket thousands for an issue that is completely mechanical and dealer issue.

The right (passenger side) sliding door is locked closed and will not open from the inside or outside. Rear-seat passengers are being forced to exit through the windows, rear hatch, front doors, or the other sliding door. This is not only an unnecessary inconvenience but also potentially very dangerous if there's an accident when occupants need to exit the vehicle quickly. I will take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptom prior to the failure. The problem first appeared two days ago, the van has less that 100,000 miles.

Sliding passenger door actuator makes a loud buzzing noise when unlocking, and also will fail to unlock. In the event of an emergency, passengers will be unable to unlock the door and exit from the vehicle. No warning lamps have activated, notifying of a problem. There are no recalls on file.

Was told today the oil filter cooler has a small leak. Appears to be a prolific issue on Caravans that Dodge is ignoring. Presents a safety hazard if the leak gets too bad and an environmental hazard if they go unrepaired.

Code P0302 - undiagnosed as of 2/14/24 mileage - 51833miles 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan with Braun Mobility Conversion for wheelchair June 2023, had transmission freeze up and replace by Dodge dealer. Later that day after picking up from dealer, "Engine" light came back on. Called and left message with dealer asking if they neglected to re-set codes and or reset check engine light. Called twice and left messages, no return call. Van functioning fine. I had no problems for months until I needed it SMOG tested this month. SMOG repair station said it won't pass SMOG and it's likely cylinder 2 misfire, which can be observed sporadically, although I have never had any issues driving at all. Engine light never flashes. The SMOG mechanic researched Dodge issues and said I may likely need to replace the engine, but that even the replaced engine is not guaranteed to not have the same problem, due to it appears to be a problem in the engine itself. There are countless reports online by Dodge Caravan owners reporting same code, but almost all of them report driving and/or idling issues. There seems to be enough consensus that there is something inherently wrong with certain year Dodge engines but there is still no recall or dealer support. I don't know who to believe. I need to get it to pass SMOG but don't want to replace the engine to do it if it has been driving fine.

Airbag light came on with no collision or impact toy the vehicle, took it to dealership and they advised that it is the passenger side Active Headrest Restraint system. Even after admitting it was a faulty safety system, dealer will not replace it or fix it without compensation.

On another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated again. The vehicle was towed back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the air bag and the driver’s side seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. I was loading my dog into the driver's side door of my Grand Caravan when I heard a pop next to my head. When I started looking around I discovered that my driver's seat headrest had split apart. I was seconds away from driving. This just happened this morning before work so I have not had a chance to take it to a dealership. There were no warning lights prior to this event.

I was waiting at a red light when I was violently hit in the back of my head which caused some disorinetation and pain. I asked my wife to tell me what happened ( I thought we might have been rear-ended) but she said my headrest had broken open. While after a web search I now understand what the purpose of this "safety feature" is, had I been driving on a highway or going through a curve, the result might have been different.

The headrest on the driver seat ejected while I was driving. The headrest is unable to go back into the correct position. It looks as if a plastic piece has failed inside the headrest. No accident occurred when the headrest failed. The drivers neck was hurt during the incident. Driver almost lost control of the vehicle

The driver's seat headrest active head restraint randomly deployed as I was exiting the vehicle. The plastic retainers had broke off allowing the headrest to deploy and it cannot be reset. If this had occurred while driving, the headrest could have struck me in the back of the head possibly causing injury or could have lead to an accident.

Both sliding doors will not unlock. Passengers have to exit either through the front passenger door, through the rear hatch or climb out the sliding door windows. This is a safety issue in an emergency. The driver side sliding door had the problem several months ago. The passenger side sliding door developed the problem today.

The Rear License Plate Light bulb (right) was out and I went to have the bulb replaced. I was quoted over $1100 from the dealer, as the LED racetrack lighting was not properly sealed and is collecting water. The collection of water within the light compartment has caused corrosion within, and the wiring to disintegrate. This is a commonly known, yet not addressed safety issue by DODGE. My vehicle will not pass the MA Safety Inspection at the end of the month. I have read on-line many, many complaints, as well as have spoken to other Durango owners who have experienced this same problem. I have already replaced the racetrack lighting ONCE on this vehicle due to water collection and the brake lights not properly working. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

2016 DODGE DURANGO. THE TAILGATE LIGHTS GETS WATER IN THEM EVERY TIME IS RAINS. THE BULBS BURN OUT AND YOU CAN'T REPLACE THE BULBS YOURSELF. THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THE ISSUE IS PAYING OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE BACK LIGHT.

The contact's wife noticed white smoke coming from under the hood with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact's wife drove the vehicle to a safe location and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle restarted; however, the vehicle would not move. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was later towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed hydraulic pump. The contact was informed that the hydraulic pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

Transmission failed at 85000 miles for a 2016 model dodge grand caravan. Vehicle taken to dealer for inspection and repaired. Vehicle will stalled then suddenly stopped when driving putting myself and family at risk of injury or death.There were no warning light or indicator prior to this issue. There are numerous reports on these type of vehicles failure.

THE ISSUE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED AND WARRANTY EXTENTED-DEALER CHARGED $155 AND TOLD US THAT THE DOOR BEING LOCKED AND NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN IS NOT THE ISSUE BUT THE LATCH IS DEFECTIVE. (WE DON'T BELIEVE THIS TO BE TRUE) THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY MANUFACTURER AND WE RECIEVED A LETTER DIRECTING US TO TAKE THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS FOR THESE ISSUES. THE POWER LOCK ACTUATOR MADE A CLICKING/BUZZING SOUND AS DESCRIBED IN THE LETTER FROM FCA US LLC BEFORE GOING BAD. WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE BECAUSE WE HAVE THREE KIDS THAT ARE DAILY PASSENGERS.

There is a creaking noise in the front end of the Dodge Caravan. Upon inspection at a service station, it was identified as a bushing that was partially missing on the front subframe crossmember attachment to the chassis. When attempting to purchase a replacement bushing from Chrysler it was discovered that the bushing was no longer made for this vehicle. Instead Chrysler now makes an entire new subframe crossmember with fasteners, that will need to be purchased and installed. It seems like this the bushing part was defective and therefore Chrysler made an adjustment which is now going to cost a lot more money to repair. This should be a recall and not an expense to the consumer.

Today, I was driving my van to work, and I stopped at a stop sign, went to go, and the van made a horrible clunk noise and wouldn't drive. I shifted through the gears, and each one made the van shake hard. I purchased this van 2 weeks ago from a used car lot. Earlier today, the check engine light came on, which I planned on going check it when I got off work. I had a mobile diagnostic worker come check it out, and he told me it was my transmission. I contacted the lot where I bought it, and am waiting to get it towed back there. This was dangerous because it stopped driving at a stop sign, and I didn't know what to do. I had to flag traffic to go around and wait for people to come help me push it out of the way of traffic. I am a single mother with a three year old.

The oil filter housing for Jeep Dodge Chrysler 3.6 is originally made with plastic. Now its made with metal. My van is leaking oil. I went to get an oil change and was told from the shop that I had a oil leak. Oil is all over the engine. They were telling me that they see this so often, and that it should be recalled. Jeep has the exact same issue and has a recall. I can actually smell it inside the car. This is the second time I was told this. The leak is getting worst. Times are super hard out here. I would love if someone could look into this.

The fuel pump stays on 24 hours a day even after the engine has been turned off. These are referred to online as TIPM Fuel Pump. The Dodge dealer wants to replace the entire box of fuses at a cost of 1000-1500. It is a known problem affecting thousands of users. So much of a known problem that there is a website that is selling electronic modules that kill the fuel pump when the key is off. VerticleVisions.com is a website selling a hack to solve the Dodge issue. Apparently there had been a recall of other models and years but not my make or model. Quoting a Youtuber "As you may know, there has been a recall on certain models of Jeep and Dodge vehicles due to fuel pump relay failures. Other vehicles in the Chrysler and Jeep umbrella may utilize the exact TIPM containing the failing embedded relay as the vehicles listed in the recall, they are NOT listed in the VIN specific recall. To exacerbate the issue, the replacement part manufactured by Mopar is explicitly reserved for only the VINs for the vehicle models and years listed in the recall, so try as you might to order one online or have it serviced at the dealer, Mopar will not send one without a matching VIN. Further worsening the situation, the newest version of the bypass kit is on back order for months, leaving nearly everyone that actually HAS a VIN listed in the recall in as terrible a situation as the rest of us. Aside from a brand new TIPM for nearly $1,200.00 or a junkyard or eBay score for a used one, if your vehicle intermittently cranks but does not start or starts but immediately dies, and is noticeably worse in cold weather and mornings, here is the best solution to bypass the relay altogether and get yourself on the road or off the side of it. Relays are important and without one, you could damage your fuel pump. Please consider this as you look to the future." This is a safety hazard and should be recalled by the manufacturer. Other vehicles with the same issue have been recalled.

I have owned a 2013 Dodge Durango Citadel and traded it when it got to 100K because the fuel pump failed and now I own a 2016 Dodge Durango Limited and I'm currently at 99K miles and this fuel pump has failed. There needs to be a recall on the fuel pumps with the Dodge Durangos. The car will hesitate to start and malfunction while in traffic and that is dangerous to the driver and other vehicles. This can cause a crash because the vehicle will stall and not operate. The issue was confirmed by the Dodge, Jeep and Lincoln dealer with both vehicles I've owned. There were no indications that this component was failing other than the hesitation to start a month prior and the hesitation went from every few days to every single day.

I CALLED DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD BY OPERATOR THAT IT DOES SHOW UP IN THE SERVICE NOTIFICATION. SO I CALLED DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT, AND WAS TOLD IT'S NOT A RECALL. SO I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN, GOT A DIFFERENT OPERATOR, WHO TOLD ME THAT SHE ALSO SEES IT IN THE SERVICE NOTIFICATION, SHE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TALKED TO THEM, PATCHED ME THROUGH TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT, AND DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WOULDN'T BE COVERED, AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY.

I BOUGHT MY 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN IN FEBRUARY OF 2018 WITH 98000 MILES ON IT. HERE I AM 1 YEAR AND 5 MONTHS LATER HAVING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT 108000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING ON A CITY STREET MY RPMS WERE GOING UP TO 6000 BUT MY VAN WASN'T ACCELERATING. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED AND LUCKILY NONE OF MY CHILDREN WERE WITH ME, ESPECIALLY MY 7 WEEK OLD BABY!! THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP THAT I HAD IT TOWED TO SAID IT WASN'T DUE TO THE PUMP THAT WAS RECALLED, THAT APPARENTLY DID NOT APPLY TO MY VIN, BUT THE INSIDE OF MY TRANSMISSION WAS BREAKING APART INTERNALLY. BOTH DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS DON'T ALWAYS OPEN MANUALLY OR WITH REMOTE AND NEITHER ONE LOCKS ANYMORE. JUST HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT, WAS DRIVING VAN IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, LUCKILY GOT OFF OF THE MAIN ROAD THEN HAD TO BE TOWED TO GARAGE. THIS VAN HAS COST ME SO MUCH MONEY OUT OF POCKET.

OUR 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN STALLS WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS NO INDICATION WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN, THE DASH INDICATORS LIGHT UP BRIEFLY AND THE ENGINE LOSES ALL POWER. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR THIS VEHICLE. WE ARE ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON AND THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES WHEN WE RESTART. MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ STATE THAT THE MECHANICS CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG BECAUSE THERE IS NO CODE AND CAN'T IMMEDIATELY RECREATE THE ISSUE. WE HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE. YET IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. OVER AND OVER. MY VEHICLE IS IN THE 5TH GENERATION OF THIS MODEL (2008 - 2020). ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA, WELL OVER 1 MILLION HAVE BEEN SOLD IN THE US ALONE. THIS MAY BE A SCENARIO FOR THE ONGOING INVESTIGATION OF ROLLAWAY (NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE16014) THE VEHICLE IN THIS SCENARIO WAS STATIONARY. I FOLLOW THE NORMAL PROCEDURE FOR PARKING MY DURANGO BY (1)APPLYING PARKING BRAKE, (2)MOVING THE SHIFTER TO PARK, (3) TURN IGNITION OFF, AND THEN (4)EXITING THE VEHICLE. TODAY, I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO STOP FOR PARKING, WHICH TRIGGERED THE STOP-START SYSTEM, TURNING THE ENGINE OFF. AT THIS TIME, BEFORE SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION TO PARK, I OPENED THE DOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS ACTION OF OPENING DOOR MADE THE STOP-START SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE. AFTER THIS WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND MOVED TRANSMISSION TO PARK (WITH PARK LIGHT LIT), MY THINKING WAS THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD START ITS ENGINE AS IT WOULD BE COMING OUT OF STOP-START SYSTEM. BUT, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AS THE DRIVER DOOR WAS OPEN AND THE STOP-START SYSTEM WAS DISABLED. AT THIS TIME, WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE, THE CAR ADVANCED FORWARD WITH NO POWER. EVEN THEN THE ENGINE DID NOT START. THEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND ALL WORKED FINE. WHILE CHECKING THIS SCENARIO AGAIN, I TURNED THE CAR OFF WHILE THE STOP-START WAS DEACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE DID A POWERLESS ROLLING. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND ALL WORKED FINE. IT SEEMS THAT THE OPENING OF THE DRIVER DOOR BEFORE THE VEHICLE EXITS THE STOP-START SYSTEM INITIATED ENGINE-OFF, CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ENTER A STATE WHERE THINGS ARE NOT PREDICTABLE. MY EXPECTATION WAS THAT THE TAKING FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL OR CHANGING GEAR SHIFTER, WOULD MAKE THE ENGINE COME BACK TO LIFE. BUT THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. I HOPE THAT THERE COULD BE SOLUTION FOR THIS ISSUE. I ALWAYS APPLY PARKING BRAKE SINCE THE TIME I HAVE LEARNED HOW TO DRIVE, AND THAT SURELY MUST BE HELPING ME HERE.

I TOOK MY 2016 DODGE DURANGO TO AN INDEPENDENT GARAGE (NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY) BECAUSE THE BOOSTER DEVELOPED A VACUUM LEAK INSIDE UNDER THE DASH. AFTER REMOVAL, WE FOUND THE BOOSTER WAS FILLED WITH WATER. I FOUND A RECALL FOR EARLIER YEAR DODGE DURANGOS FROM 2011-2014 WITH A SIMILAR ISSUE (SAFETY RECALL T59 / NHTSA 17V-572), AND THE FIX WAS TO INSTALL A SHIELD TO PROTECT WATER FROM ENTERING. MY BOOSTER ALREADY HAD THIS SHIELD AND WAS INSTALLED CORRECTLY, YET IT STILL FILLED WITH WATER. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED IN AUGUST 2019, SO I HAVE NO SERVICE HISTORY AVAILABLE. THIS IS MY 3 TOWN & COUNTRY MINI VAN. HOWEVER THE LAST TWO I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THE SEAT BELTS GETTING CAUGHT UP IN THE SEAT BELT RETRACTION SYSTEM AND EVENTUALLY BEGIN TO TEAR. THIS HAS COMPROMISED THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. OUR 2008 MINI VAN WAS WITHIN WARRANTY WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AND THEREFORE WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT FIXED. NOW WE HAVE A 2016 TOWN AND COUNTRY AND AT LEAST 4 OF THE 7 SEATBELTS ARE FRAYING.. THE FACT THAT IT'S HAPPENING TO NEARLY ALL THE SEAT BELTS MAKES ME THINK THERE'S A DESIGN FLAW.

Tires 225/65R17 Cooper driving on interstate and stared bumping at 55mph.van towed and tires replaced.. no warning lights.. Whitten Brothers in Ashland VA inspected tires and indicated on a video that passenger side tires had come apart.. I had all four tires replaced because I was afraid the other two would come apart.. I think the safety of myself and my sister in the car with me. Also other people on the highway if the tires had blown.. Thanks for your help and thoughtfulness.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Durango equipped with Sailun Tires, Tire Line: Atrezzo SVR LX, Tire Size: 265/50/R20, DOT Number: 1YJDBNULY0217. The contact stated while driving 80 MPH in the passing lane, the front driver's side had a blowout, causing the vehicle to be pulled into the grassy area towards the railing. The contact maneuvered the vehicle while the vehicle rolled 100 yards. The contact stated that upon inspecting the tire, he noticed that the tire was still attached to the wheel, but the tread had separated from the tire. The contact had not sustained any injuries. The vehicle was towed to a tire mechanic where the tire was replaced. The contact later became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21T018000 (Tires) however, the tire line was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The tire failure and vehicle failure mileages were unknown.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Durango equipped with Windforce Tires, Tire Line: Performax, Tire Size: 285/60/R18, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle started to wobble. Upon inspection, she noticed that there were bubbles on the driver's and passenger's side rear tires. Additionally, the tire pressure reached 65 PSI. The vehicle was taken to the tire dealer and the driver's and passenger's side rear tires were replaced; however, the failure recurred with the driver's and passenger's side front tires. The dealer informed the contact that the tires were not covered under warranty and she would need to pay out-of-pocket for the replacement tires. The driver's and passenger's side front tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE JUST QUIT OPENING ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, LAST WEEK THE TRANSMISSION HAS WENT COMPLETELY OUT. I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE HOME AND WHEN I PUT THE VAN IN DRIVE IT PULLED OFF AND WHEN I GOT UP TO THE SPEED LIMIT AND THE RPM'S WAS GOING UP THE VAN WOULDN'T SHIFT. I SENT IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY JUST CALLED ME SAYING THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY GONE AND I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION OR A RE-BUILD. THIS VAN IS A 2016 WITH 78,000 MILES. I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS VEHICLE AND I AM HAVING ALL THESE PROBLEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY RECALLS OR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE.

I was driving my van which I have had nothing but trouble with this dodge caravan, go to turn at the intersection and it just shuts off started right back up but starting to turn and it just shut off. Happened twice now, had the battery checked and every thing else seemed good just didn’t know why this happened but it almost got us hot the first time. There are a lot of dodge vans that aren’t included in the S44 recall and our VIN numbers don’t pop up. I mean the air bags are killing people in these dodges now, I’ve had nothing but a hard time with this vehicle. They are unsafe, if I wasn’t poor and could afford a good van and not bottom of the barrel I wouldn’t be dealing with this it seems. But the poor are expendable. I’d rather take my kids in my beat up ford than in my new van. That’s crazy. It’s going to get someone killed if it hasn’t already happened.

My vehicle began shutting completely off while in drive and approaching a stop. This has endangered myself as well as my family due to the current condition and unpredictability of the engine turning off while approaching a stop light or stop sign. The vehicle has been inspected by a dodge service location and the check engine light does come on. Also included is a mopar warranty bulletin addressing the same issue with the same engine but on previous years (2011-2013) of the grand caravan and multiple models. I am experiencing the same conditions on a 2016 dodge grand caravan.

The driver's side headrest has deployed on it's own while parked in a driveway and turned off. After inspection, the plastic brackets that retain the metal pin that is supposed to secure the headrest broke apart and released the headrest into a deployed position. This is a design flaw that should be recalled before someone becomes injured. The headrest is under a spring loaded force that the plastic was not engineered to restrain.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST HAS DEPLOYED ON IT'S OWN WHILE PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY AND TURNED OFF. AFTER INSPECTION, THE PLASTIC BRACKETS THAT RETAIN THE METAL PIN THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SECURE THE HEADREST BROKE APART AND RELEASED THE HEADREST INTO A DEPLOYED POSITION. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED WITH LESS THAN 2K MILES ON IT AND IN THE MONTH TIMEFRAME I HAVE HAD IT, IT HAS STALLED 3 TIMES ON ME. ONCE WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY ROAD AND TWICE IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE TIME ON THE BUSY ROAD WAS WHEN I WAS KEEPING UP WITH TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR. Upon inspection, both the contact and her husband noticed that there was an oil leak. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the oil filter housing had melted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was 85,000.

My wife was stopped at a drive through window in DRIVE when the engine stalled. It wouldn’t crank over and needed to be pushed out of the way and towed. The TIPM failed and needed to be replaced. The repair was done at a Chrysler dealer and they took the faulty part after repair. Safety was at risk because if this had happened in the middle of the road it could have caused an accident. My wife was lucky it happened at the drive through. Vehicle not inspected by police or insurance. No warning lights or other symptoms, just engine stalled

The vehicle will randomly die and most of the time, it will start back up. It will die when it is stopped and idling, and it has died when I am driving it at all speeds. It dies on the interstate driving 75 mph, on the highway going 55 mph, on a street going 35 mph, and in a subdivision going 15 mph. It has been taken to a certified mechanic who could reproduce the problem but could not diagnose the cause. I took it to the dealership where they said they were not able to reproduce the issue or find any diagnostic error codes. Yet, the dealership was able to find a software upgrade and a "leaky pan" from the transmission that cost me over $550. When I left the dealership, the vehicle died about 2 miles in the middle of a large and very busy street. I tried to restart the vehicle, but it wouldn't start the first 11 tries. After a few minutes, on the 12th try, it did start up and I was able to drive it home. The next morning the vehicle started 4 times but died all 4 times. The first 2 times it died both times after idling for 2 minutes. The 3rd and 4th time it started up and then died within 10 seconds. I had the vehicle towed back to the dealership. The dealership still has it and cannot find out for sure what the actual issue is. They want to try a $3,000 repair, but they are not sure it will actually fix the issue. After searching the web it is not hard to find that so many people have had this same issue. What I would like to know is why so many of these vehicles are allowed on the road without there being a recall to fix this issue? Vehicles on the road that can easily die with no warning, that is terrifying. Especially a family vehicle. So many families with children of all ages put in danger by defective parts that cause a vehicle to die with no warning and then no error codes when the vehicle is diagnosed, even at a dealership. I could think of nothing more dangerous for a vehicle or a family traveling in this vehicle than this.

Passenger side active headrest deployed on its own while driving. No accident or collision involved. 16 year old son was seated in the passenger side seat when the headrest deployed on its own. Luckily no injury to my son. Want to report this issue to prevent any possible injuries that may arise due to malfunction deployment of active headrest. Researched online and discovered that this is an ongoing issue with Chrysler/Dodge vehicles and is not covered under warranty. Will have to search for a used replacement part since dealership cost for repair is too costly.

Van started fine and as I was driving the engine started revering hard and felt like it was having a hard time sifting lucky I was near my mechanic and they did that plug in and test it because the engine light came on right when I pulled in and said the transmission is gone they where able to find a rebuilt engine for my van and replaced old with a compatible engine now when this happened I had 60,000 miles. He did tell me that unfortunately they have seen this issue alot with the dodge caravan transmission just cuts out like this with no warning at all and I Googled this issue and it seems to happened to alot of other van owners. There is another issue going on that every time I get in my van before putting the key in the ignition there's a humming sound and when I park and pull out my key after car is off it makes a humming noise I have no clue what is going on but when I Google this issue it seems to be a escalator I don't know why there's not a recall on what is causing this to go on but it seems to be a dodge grand van issue.

At various speeds from 35mph to 70mph, van will accelerate without manual input to the accelerator pedal. To stop the acceleration, the pedal must be "smashed" several times before the throttle responds. It is as if the cruise control acceleration spontaniously activates even though cruise control is not ON or being used. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!

The hazardous roads symbol will light up on dash and then it will not allow me to use cruise control or shift the car out of park. I have to use the release button accessible from the hole in the dash to shift the car out of park when that hazardous road condition light is on. The hazardous road light will come on out of no where on a perfectly fine day and then mysteriously go off.

Vehicle was parked in a public parking area. Engine off. No one in vehicle. Vehicle had a combustible event occur under the hood. Fire Department came to extinguish. Vehicle was declared a total loss. Vehicle was in excellent condition and well maintained … no prior history of issues other than routine maintenance. No recent maintenance done under hood on vehicle. No body was hurt. Thankfully. One other vehicle was damaged … plastic melted due to heat of fire on the driver side.

THE FIRST TIME THEY DISASSEMBLED THE DOOR AND ONCE ON A WORK BENCH IT WORKED FINE, THEY PUT BACK INTO THE VEHICLE AND 2 DAYS LATER IT WAS BACK TO LOCKED SHUT. BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE AGAIN AND HAD THE LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY CHILDREN WHEN THE DOOR IS NOT OPERATIONAL. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS ALSO MAKING A GRINDING NOISE WHICH WAS SIMILAR TO THE NOISE THE DRIVER SIDE MADE BEFORE IT STOPPED WORKING. IF I HAVE BOTH DOORS NONOPERATIONAL THIS IS AN EXTREMELY BIG SAFETY ISSUE FOR ANYONE RIDING IN THIS VEHICLE. ABLE TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC ONTO SIDE ROAD AND STOP. TURNED KEY TO OFF AND THEN TRIED TO START CAR AGAIN. IT WORKED ON THE SECOND TRY. SEEMED TO OPERATE NORMALLY WITH ONLY THE CLOCK RESET TO 12:00AM. THIS SAME SEQUENCE HAPPENED TWICE, ABOUT A WEEK APART. NO RAIN EITHER TIME BOTH DURING DAYLIGHT.

WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A INTERSECTION TURNING RIGHT THE ENGINE SHUTOFF WITHOUT WARNING. ALONG WITH THE ENGINE SHUTOFF, POWER STEERING WAS LOST AND EVERYTHING ON THE DASHBOARD INCLUDING THE SPEEDOMETER, RPMS, RADIO. WITH THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION AND POWER STEERING IT MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER TO SAFETY. ONCE STOPPED I WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK I TURNED THE KEY TO OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT STARTED BACK UP NORMALLY. ABSOLUTELY NO ENGINE LIGHTS OR WARNING WERE SHOWING BEFORE OR AFTER THIS INCIDENT. I SUSPECT THAT THE ISSUE IS THE TIPM BUT CAN'T BE EXACTLY SURE.

THE DRIVING SIDE SLIDING DOOR HAS BECOME STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION. IT IS UNABLE TO BE OPENED MANUALLY OR WITH THE REMOTE OR BUTTONS. I WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE REMOTE TO PUT MY CHILD IN THE CAR. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OUR DESTINATION I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AS IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT OR AN EMERGENCY SITUATION I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET MY INFANT OUT OF THE CAR QUICKLY AND SAFELY.

WELL WE REPLACE ALL SPARK PLUGS AND 1 IGNITION COIL BECAUSE THE OTHER COILS WERE STILL GOOD. THINGS WERE GOOD AND DROVE AROUND FOR 3 WEEKS THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES AGAIN. CODE STILL SHOWS IGNITION COIL NEED TO BE REPLACE. THIS TIME REPLACE ALL 6 IGNITION COIL, GUESS WHAT I JUST PICKED UP MY VAN TODAY AND 10 MIN OF DRIVING BACK HOME CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC IT STILL MISS FIRING IGNITION COILS. I ABOUT READY TO THROW THIS VAN AWAY. THIS VAN IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY HAVE THIS MUCH PROBLEMS. AROUND SAME TIME DRIVER REAR SLIDING DOOR STOPPED UNLOCKING AND OPENING, THE CHILD LOCK LEVER MOVED BY ITSELF. SO I MOVED IT BACK TO DISABLE AND THAT WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEAK. THEN IT STARTED TO MAKE A NOISE LIKE GEARS WERE JAMMED OR RUBBING TOGETHER AND THEN IT JUST STOPPED. DORR REMAINS UNLOCKED NOW W/NO SOUND FROM ACTUATOR. TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO SLIP AND LOSE POWER.

"TAKATA RECALL" I'VE HAD SEVERAL EXPERIENCES WITH MY 2016 DODGE DURANGO THAT WAS BOUGHT BRAND IN JUNE OR JULY 2016 WITH 23 MILES ON IT FROM A DODGE DEALERSHIP. A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER IT WAS BOUGHT, THE CAR CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING PRESENTING SIGNALS OF "PULL OVER", "CHECK ENGINE", "POWER TRAIN" AND MORE. THE SIGNALS WERE FLASHING NON STOP. ONCE I PULLED OVER, THE CAR WOULDN'T START OR MOVE SO I PUT IT IN PARK AND CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE REPAIRS LIED WITH THE COMPUTER CHIP(S). IT WAS A SIMPLE UPDATE NEEDED. MY HUSBAND AND I PAID FOR THAT. IN MARCH/APRIL OF 2017, WE EXPERIENCED OUR CAR ROLLING INTO THE NEIGHBORS YARD WHILE ON AND IN PARK. OUR HOME CAMERA TAPED ME GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE WHILE IN PARK (ACCORDING TO THE REAR LIGHTS) IN MY FRONT YARD ON THE GRASS AND THEN THE CAR MOVING FORWARD OF WHICH THE CAMERA STOPPED RECORDING AT THIS MOMENT. WHEN I WALKED BACK OUTSIDE TO MY CAR, IT WAS ROLLING ONTO THE NEIGHBORS' PROPERTY. I HAD TO RUN AND CATCH IT. IN THE LATER MONTHS OF 2017, THE GAS LEVER STOPPED WORKING. AFTER PUSHING THE GAS BUTTON, IT WOULDN'T OPEN AND STILL DOESN'T OPEN, SO WE HAVE TO OPEN THE GAS USING THE "STRING" OR PULLEY IN THE TRUNK SPACE OF THE DURANGO BY LIFTING THE LIFT GATE TO GET TO IT. IN DECEMBER 2018, THE CAR WOULDN'T START. DODGE TOWED IT TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP AND A NEW BATTERY WAS NEEDED ALONG WITH RECALL UPDATES. JANUARY 2019, THE VEHICLE'S DASHBOARD WENT OUT WITH NO LIGHTING OR ANYTHING SHOWING ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS OPERABLE. IT IS CURRENTLY STILL IN THE SHOP WHILE MY FAMILY OF 5 IS OPERATING WITH ONE VEHICLE.

I BOUGHT A 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WITH 77,438 MILES. THE VEHICLE RAN GREAT TILL THE END OF NOVEMBER 2018. AT WHICH TIME WE STARTED HAVING MAJOR ISSUES. 1ST THE VEHICLE WILL SELF ACCELERATE WITH TO EXCESSIVE SPEEDS OVER 80 MPH WITH NO ASSISTANCE. YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE BREAK TO KEEP IT UNDER CONTROL. 2ND YOU CAN TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION, CLOSE THE DOOR AND THE CAR CONTINUE TO RUN. 3RD WHEN STARTING THE VAN THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO LIMP MODE NOT ALLOWING YOU TO SHIFT THE CAR TO REVERSE OR DRIVE. TO RELEASE THE YOU HAVE TO HIT THE SAFETY OVERRIDE SWITCH PLACE THE VAN IN GEAR AND THEN YOU ARE ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE SPEED OF 30 MPH. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS VAN TO THE SHOP THAT DRIVE TIME WARRANTY COMPANY DIRECTED US TO WHICH WAS PEP BOYS. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DO THE WORK THE VEHICLE NEEDED BUT STILL CHARGES US $50. DRIVE TIME SAID WE WOULD BE REIMBURSE FOR BUT NEVER HAPPENED. THEN DRIVE TIME DIRECTED US TO TAKE THE CAR TO MEINEKE THE DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WE PAID THE DEDUCTIBLE $100. DROVE THE VAN HOME 1 WEEK LATER IT WAS BACK AT MEINEKE TO BE REPAIRED AGAIN. MEINEKE ADVISED THAT THE PART THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY CAUSE SEVER DAMAGE TO OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE VAN. DRIVE TIME AUTHORIZED THE WORK. WE WENT TO PICK UP THE VAN AS IT WAS COMPLETED MEINEKE ADVISED US IT WOULD BE $2700 FOR THE REPAIRS AS DRIVE TIME WAS NOT PAYING FOR IT. WE CONTACTED DRIVE TIME ON THIS THEY ADVISED US TO PICK THE VAN UP AND NOT TO PAY MEINEKE ANYTHING. SO WE WENT ROUND AND ROUND WITH DRIVE TIME AND MEINEKE FINALLY GETTING OUR VAN BACK. NOW 10 DAYS LATER IT IS DOING THE SAME THING. I HAVE 4 CHILDREN AND A WIFE THAT IS IN THIS VEHICLE THAT IS UNSAFE AND IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.

THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT WHILE DRIVING MY ENGINE SHUT OFF! THE REPAIR SHOP "FIXED" THE ISSUE BUT THE DAY I DROVE HOME IT DIED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AND I HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. SHORTLY AFTER GETTING MY VAN I FELT THAT IT DID NOT HANDLE PROPERLY. I EXPERIECED HYDRO PLANNING WHEN BRAND NEW TO ME. TRACKING UPON ACCELERATION WAS PORE. VERY POOR TRACKING AT ACCELERATION GOING INTO A TURN AT START UP SPEED. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THERE HAD BEEN NO COMPLAINTS TO DATE. BY SUGGESTION, I PAID $100 FOR AN ALIGNMENT. THE ALIGNMENT DID NOT HELP WITH THIS MATTER. ANY TYPE OF PRECIPITATION AFFECTS THE TRACKING OF THE VEHICLE. ANY PAINTED LINES ON THE ROAD AFFECT TRACTION. IT SEEMS THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL IS THE PROBLEM, OR MAYBE THE YOKOHAMA AVID TIRES ARE THE PROBLEM. WHEN I ACCELERATE IN ANY GIVEN SITUATION MY TIRES WILL SPIN OR TRACTION CONTROL SLIPS BACK AND FORTH AS I CROSS OVER ANY REFLECTIVE SURFACES (LINES ON ROAD, OR STOP STRIPS, OR CROSSWALKS). I HAVE HAD TO LEARN TO STOP ON ROAD SURFACE, PRIOR TO CROSSING ANY DIFFERENTIATED SURFACES. RIGHT TURN ON RED IS MOSTLY FORBIDDEN, AS I MAY SPIN MY WAY OUT IN FRONT OF FASTER MOVING TRAFFIC. THIS VAN NOW HAS 24,000 MILES ON IT, AND THE TIRES NEED REPLACED FROM THE SPIN IN ACCELERATION.. AT 2 1/2 YEARS OLD, I AM CONCERNED ENOUGH TO TRADE FOR A DIFFERENT MAKE. I HAVE OWNED A 1992 DODGE CARAVAN, A 2007 TOWN & COUNTRY, AND NOW THIS 2016 DODGE CARAVAN. MY FRIEND WHO WORKS FOR THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA, HAS TO USE A NEW DODGE CARAVAN, ON OCCASION, OUT OF THEIR FLEET , HE TOO AGREED THAT TRACKING WAS AN ISSUE WTH THE VAN GOING STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD. THE 2016 DURANGO RENTED FROM ENTERPRISE REPEATEDLY, INCREASINGLY BUT INTERMITTENTLY AND WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT, CHANGED GEAR, REVVED AND INDICATED ON THE SCREEN THAT THERE WERE ISSUES WITH "KEY FOB NOT IN VEHICLE AND "TIRES PRESSURE". AT FIRST THEIR WERE THREE VERY BRIEF INCIDENTS LASTING LESS THAN THREE SECONDS OVER A WEEK, OCCURRING AT IDLE AND WHEN ACCELERATING. LATER THE OCCURRENCES LASTED SOMETIMES OVER 20 SECONDS EACH AND HAPPENED SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES PER HOUR, INCREASINGLY WORSE. WHILE THERE WAS CLEARLY AN ISSUE WITH THE SHIFTER, THERE APPEARED TO BE ADDITIONAL OR RELATED ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRONIC BRAIN. RESETTING THE OPTIONS, LIKE SHUTTING OFF THE HILL CLIMB OPTION WHICH IT WAS SET ON BEFORE WE RENTED IT SEEMED TO HELP AT FIRST BUT DID NOT. THIS WAS DANGEROUS AND DISTURBING. FINALLY, THE CAR LURCHED OUT OF PARK AND HIT A WALL ON ITS OWN FROM A FEW FEET AWAY. I HAVE PHOTOS AND WILL GIVE MORE INFORMATION. THESE INCIDENTS OCCURRED AT VARIOUS TIMES, AND SEEMINGLY MORE IN THE RAIN AND FOG, THOUGH NOT EXCLUSIVELY. THEY OCCURRED ONCE WHEN LEAVING A STOPLIGHT AT A LOW SPEED TURNING LEFT, ON THE FREEWAY, ON STREETS AROUND 30/35 MPH AND AT IDLE AT FULL STOP. MOST OCCURRENCES WERE WHILE DRIVING ON REGULAR CITY STREETS WHERE WE DID MOST OF THE DRIVING ON THAT TRIP IN SAN JOSE, MONTEREY AND CARMEL. THE WORST WAS RIGHT BEFORE THE PEBBLE BEACH CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE, AFTER I HAD DRIVEN NORTH FROM SAN DIEGO ON A CONTINUOUS FREEWAY DRIVE IN THE RAIN. IT MAY JUST BE A COINCIDENCE, BUT ALL THREE OF THE FIRST INSTANCES IN THE FIRST WEEK OF RENTAL OCCURRED AFTER AT LEAST AN HOUR DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY. IN SAN JOSE, I IMMEDIATELY REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT CAR BUT THEY HAD NONE.THE SECOND DRIVER IMMEDIATELY NOTICED ISSUES WITH THE CAR, BUT WE WERE TOLD THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AVAILABLE. My 2016 dodge grand caravan has all of a sudden lost power on half the fuse box making it so the key (fob) says iuyts A bad key a total of 3 times so far as well as this time will not turn over at all, also the last time I went to put fuel in it half the gas was on the ground due to a faulty gas line on the fuel neck. It also has a fluctuateing rpm at stop lights. And might turn off and be hard to restart in the middle of an intersection.I would hope to have these things fixed in a recall soon.

Was driving home from work (on city streets) and noticed that the engine seemed to be idling higher than normal RPMs. Van would not shift from first gear and would not accelerate beyond about 30 MPH, very sluggish, while RPMs rose above 3K and engine made a grinding/whining sound. No warning lights of any kind came on while driving or while stopped. While stopped at a traffic light, heard several loud clunks from under the hood and van had difficulty accelerating from stop. Was able to get it to the shop where they diagnosed transmission failure - the mechanics couldn't get it out of first gear by the time they were done looking at it and had to push it off the lift. Total cost of a remanufactured transmission plus new hubs and axles because they couldn't get the old ones removed without damaging them to remove/replace the transmission was $5600. Van has 128,000 miles.

The steering and wheel alignment of the vehicle is habitually misaligned and pulling drastically to the right. The vehicle has been serviced and aligned multiple times, and the auto mechanic shop says that the alignment can no longer be set properly. They charged me extra for some additional part to help correct this and allow the vehicle to be aligned, however that did not help. Although the steering wheel appears in alignment, the front wheels continue to pull sharply to the right, causing a safety issue because the vehicle is constantly trying to move to the right.

3 malfunctions within a month time frame. The car will start and run normally. Then it will suddenly come to a halt because the engine will continue to run but the transmission knob will not be able to move, and the entire electrical panel lights up. Repeated attempts to use the push button start to unlock the transmission knob and be able to start car fail. This has happened 2 of the 3 times on major roadways in traffic. PD was called for last incident. The car has been to the dealer 3 times, dealer is unable to replicate problem and unable to pull codes from computer every single time. Vehicle has been inspected by dealer every single time. No warning lights or lamp or messages have appeared prior to this issue. The last incident - as described on major roadway - my children were in vehicle. This is a complete and dangerous issue, still not being addressed. The car had come to a light, stopped, the auto engine had kicked in, and when time to move, the entire panel lit up and transmission knob locked once again.

THE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK ELECTRICALLY OR MANUALLY. IT IS PERMANENTLY LOCKED. THIS IS A VERY BAD SAFTEY ISSUE! IF THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY AND THE DRIVERS REAR DOOR GOT DAMAGED, NO ONE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE CAN GET OUT! THE POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT. IT FULLY WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING INTO A PARKING LOT FROM A HIGHWAY EXIT. THE TRUCK STARTED MAKING SOUNDS AND WILL NOT TURN NOW. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 60,000 MILES. I HAVE SEEN WHERE OTHER DODGE AND RAM VEHICLES ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES WHERE THE POWER STEERING HAS COMPLETELY GONE OUT AS MINE HAS. WITH THE ELECTRONIC STEERING SYSTEM EVERY TIME I TURN THE WHEEL YOU HEAR A SCREECHING AND ELECTRONIC OR BEING SOUND (AS IF AN ELECTRICAL DEVICE HAS FAILED). I STARTED TO NOTICE A DULL OR NUMB STEERING FEELING TO THE VEHICLE WHICH NOW HAS PROGRESSED INTO UNABLE TO USE ONE BIT. FIAT CHRYSLER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. WE READ THAT SIMILAR DODGE, CHRYSLER AND RAM VEHICLES IN OUR YEAR RANGE HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS AS WELL. AZ - 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN R/T, APPROX 63,500 MI. 2 WEEKS AGO I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULDN'T START. I ASSUMED IT WAS THE BATTERY BECAUSE ITS A FAIRLY NEW VEHICLE. I GAVE IT A JUMP AND THE VEHICLE STARTED. I SET THE TIME AS IT HAD RESET TO 12:00AM BUT RADIO STATIONS WERE STILL PROGRAMMED. I WENT ON A 3HR DRIVE BACK HOME WITH NO ISSUES AND FIGURED THE BATTERY WAS CHARGED BY THE TIME I GOT HOME. BEFORE I WENT INSIDE FOR THE NIGHT, I ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE UP AND IT STARTED WITH NO ISSUES. THE NEXT MORNING I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START ON THE FIRST OR SECOND ATTEMPT. I NOTICED THE DISPLAY ON THE DASH WOULD ALTERNATE FROM "RUN" TO "OFF" EACH TIME I WOULD TRY TO START IT. THE THIRD TRY THE VEHICLE STARTED FOR A GOOD 3-5 SECONDS THEN DIED. THE NEXT ATTEMPT THE VEHICLE STARTED. I HAD THE SAME ISSUES AFTER WORK AND EACH TIME I WOULD THINK IT WAS THE BATTERY BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD TRY TO TURN OVER AND DASH WOULD ALTERNATE START TO OFF AND THE CLOCK ON THE RADIO WOULD RESET TO 12:00 AM. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 2 WEEKS NOW, I REACHED THE POINT OF REPLACING THE ALTERNATOR. I ALSO HAD THE NEW ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY TESTED, BOTH TESTED GOOD. WHAT KEPT LEADING ME TO A BAD ALTERNATOR/BATTERY WAS THE FACT THAT THE CLOCK WOULD RESET AND THE FIRST FEW ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT WORK. MY THINKING STARTED TO CHANGE AS THE DAYS PASSED. I THOUGHT THAT HAD IT BEEN A BATTERY OR CHARGING ISSUE THE BATTERY WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD BY NOW. TODAY I WENT THROUGH THE SAME ROUTINE, TRIED TWICE TO START, THEN IT WOULD START THEN STALL, OF COURSE THE LAST TRY IT WOULD STAY ON. SAME THING IN THE EVENING, AFTER WORK, BUT THIS TIME WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AT 45MPH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT DETECTED AN ODOR OF HOT BRAKES. MY CAR IS 16 MONTHS OLD, LEASED FOR 3 YEARS. ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS SUCH AS CAMERA NOT WORKING PROPERLY, LIGHTS NOT TURNING OFF INSIDE THE CAR, SOFTWARE IN THE CAR MALFUNCTIONING AND CREATING RANDOM ERROR MESSAGES ON THE SCREEN, AND TURN SIGNALS BURNING OUT WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE LIFE OF THE CAR HAPPENED VERY OFTEN. WERE REPORTED 2-3 TIMES TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP BUT NO RECORD WAS MADE FOR US AT THE DEALERSHIP, ALTHOUGH MECHANICS SHOWED US HOW TO MANUALLY RESET THE COMPUTER OURSELVES, SO WE DIDN'T HAVE TO KEEP COMING BACK IN FOR IT. THIS TIME THE CAR CAME TO A DEAD STOP A FEW SECONDS AFTER MAKING A LEFT TURN. WHEELS LOCKED UP AT ABOUT 20MPH SPEED. THE IMPACT OF THE STOP CAUSED ME AND MY TWO TODDLERS TO FLY FORWARD SINCE THE SEATBELTS DID NOT LOCK. MY 3 YEAR OLD WAS IN A CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT, SHE SCOOT FORWARD A LITTLE BIT, BUT MY SON WAS IN A TODDLER BOOSTER AND FLEW FORWARD DOWN THE MIDDLE ISLE ALL THE WAY TO MY FRONT SEAT. ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE CAR FLASHED ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY. CAR WAS BEEPING FOR A GOOD 2-3 MINUTES STRAIGHT. NONE OF THE BUTTONS WORKED! DOORS WERE LOCKED AND WOULD NOT OPEN, THE WINDOWS LOCKED AND WOULD NOT REACT TO THE BUTTONS. TOOK ME A GOOD FEW MINUTES TO GET THE CAR BACK TO FUNCTIONING, AND I DROVE IT IMMEDIATELY DOWN THE STREET TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I GOT THIS CAR. AFTER 2 DAYS OF THE CAR BEING THERE, WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY HAD FOUND NOTHING, REPLICATED NOTHING, AND THAT THE COMPUTER RECORDED NO CODES. WE CONTACTED DODGE CORPORATE, BUT WERE TOLD THAT NOTHING WILL BE DONE FOR US (BESIDES PAY THE 2 DAYS OF RENTAL CAR FEE WHILE THEY LOOKED AT OUR CAR). DODGE TOLD US CAR WAS "FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED" ALTHOUGH THEY CAN NOT GUARANTEE ITS SAFE TO DRIVE, THEY DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE INFANT CAR SEAT HANGS OFF THE SEAT AND IS NOT SAFELY SUPPORTED BY THE SEAT AN CHRYSLER HAS NO SAFE ALTERNATIVE TO FIX THE SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO SINCE IT'S A BENCH SEAT YOU CANNOT USE THE SEATBELT THAT CROSSES THE WALKWAY FOR ANY CAR SEAT BECAUSE THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT HAVE A RESOLUTION FOR. THESE ISSUES ARE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, AND IN MOTION ON ANY CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY, TURNING, OR TRAVELING STRAIGHT. DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, HAD TO APPLY BRAKES HARD, THEN HAD TO PUMP THE EXCELLERATOR AND THEN FLOORE IT TO GET GAS TO ENGINE TO RESUME MOMENTUM. AFTER THAT IT DOES IT DOES THIS INTERMEDIATELY, MAYBE FOR QUITE AWHILE THE SAME DAY AND NOT AGAIN FOR WEEKS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON AND THERE ARE TIMES THAT THE RPM'S HAVE JUMPED UP TO 4 AND ALMOST 5, THE ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE A RACE CAR AND LITTLE MOVEMENT AND THEN QUICKLY LUNGES FORWARD, AT OTHER SOUNDS LIKE IT HAS SHIFTED AND YOU STILL HAVE NOT INCREASED IN SPEED. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THIS VECHILE OVER A WEEK AND THEY HAD NO PROBLEMS. ANOTHER DATE IT WAS DOING THIS WAS ON AN EXIT RAMP FROM THE INTERSTATE IN CREEPING, STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS 85-90 DEGREES, OUR VAN HAS A COMPUTER GLITCH. IT HAS OCCURRED BOTH WHEN FIRST STARTING THE ENGINE OR GOING DOWN THE ROAD. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEGINNING JULY 2016. THE WIPERS COME ON AND CANNOT BE TURNED OFF. THERE ARE NO GAGES ON THE DASH AND THE DISPLAY READS "NO BUS." THE TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. THERE IS NO RADIO, A/C OR HEATER, AND SOME OF THE WINDOWS WON'T WORK. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO TELL HOW FAST WE ARE GOING WITH NO GAGES. THIS PROBLEM DID HAPPEN ONE TIME AS WE WERE GOING 75 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE. IT WAS TRULY AN UNSAFE SITUATION WITH NO TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHTS AND NO WAY TO KNOW OUR ACTUAL SPEED. THIS LASTED FOR ABOUT 40 MILES UNTIL THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DROPPED. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER 6 TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF OVER 40 DAYS IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS. THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ERROR ONE TIME FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS BUT THE PROBLEM RESOLVED BEFORE THE TECH COULD GET THE SCANNER HOOKED UP. THE TIPM AND ANOTHER MODULE HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE HAS CLOSED OUR CLAIM, SAYING THAT BECAUSE THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM NOW THAT THE WEATHER IS COOLER, THEY CANNOT DO ANY MORE. AUTONOMOUS ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WITHOUT DRIVER ASSIST ACCELERATED TWICE WHEN PULLING INTO PARKING SPOTS. IN BOTH CASES I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO A PARKING SPOT WHEN THE ACCELERATION COMMENCED. ONLY BY STANDING ON THE BRAKE WHILE AT SAME TIME PLACING THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND PRESSING ENGINE OFF BUTTON WAS I ABLE TO STOP VEHICLES FORWARD MOTION. THE DURANGO CAME CLOSE TO RAMMING PARKED CAR IN THE SPACE IN FRONT OF THE ONE I WAS PULLING INTO. DURANGO HAD APPROX. 3000 MILES ON ODOMETER WHEN THE 2 INCIDENTS OF ACCELERATION OCCURRED. THE INCIDENTS OCCURRED ON CONSECUTIVE DAYS, OCT 9 & 10, AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE APPROX. 6-8 HOURS STRAIGHT EACH DAY. PURCHASING DEALER WAS CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY TO INFORM IT'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE 2 INCIDENTS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN OUT OF AREA DEALER ON THE MORNING FOLLOWING 1ST INCIDENT. THEY READ THE FAULT CODES AND INFORMED ME THAT NOTHING REGISTERED OTHER THAN THE ECM HAD BROKEN CONTACT. AFTER TWO DAYS IN SERVICE THE REPORT THAT CAME BACK WAS NO PROBLEM FOUND. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS ACCELERATION COULD OCCUR DURING A MORE PROBLEMATIC SITUATION WHERE ABILITY TO CONTROL DURANGO WILL BE LIMITED WHICH COULD RESULT IN BODILY INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. LETTERS OF RECORD HAVE BEEN SENT TO [XXX], CEO DODGE, AND [XXX], SERVICE MGR AT SUBURBAN CHRYSLER IN FARMINGTON HILLS MI. I HAVE TAKEN PHOTOS OF BRAKE & GAS PEDDLES TO SHOW THERE RELATION TO A WEATHER TECH WHICH THE DEALER HAS SUGGESTED AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE FOR ACCELERATION. CONSUMER STATES THERE WERE 2 MORE OCCURRENCES. DASH BOARD WENT COMPLETELY BLANK DURING LAST OCCURRENCE. AFTER PURCHASE, IMMEDIATELY WE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HEADLIGHT NOT WORKING, THEN A REAR LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT NOT WORKING. TOOK IN FOR RECALL ON ANOTHER PART AND THEY DISCOVERED IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL, WHILE DRIVING AND SITTING AT LIGHTS. LIGHTS ON DASH, RADIO, HEADLIGHTS, ETC, NOT WORK PROPERLY OR ALL SUDDEN DECIDE NOT TO WORK AT ALL. WE'VE TAKEN IT BACK NOW 5 TIMES. MECHANIC SAYS THE WHOLE WIRING HARNESS IS BAD AND CANNOT BE REPAIRED, BUT CONTINUES TO SAY THEY CALLED CHRYSLER FOR PARTS TO TRY TO REPAIR. WHILE MY 83 YRS OLD DAD WHO BOUGHT THE CAR, LEFT SITTING AT THE DEALER FOR 4-5 HOURS EVERY TRIP AND NO RENTAL VEHICLE AVAILABLE FROM ENTERPRISE OR HERTZ. AFTER SITTING THERE 5 HOURS TODAY, WE HAD TO LEAVE VEHICLE. THIS TIME, WE ARE READY TO CALL ATTORNEY FOR LEMON LAW IN MISSOURI.

I WAS DRIVING AT 2 OR 3 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON A CITY STREET AND THE CAR ACCELERATED WHEN I TOUCHED THE BRAKE. PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE AND IT CRASHED INTO THE CAR AHEAD, PUSHING IT INTO THE SECOND CAR AHEAD. EVENTUALLY THE RPMS DROPPED AFTER THE COLLISION. FAULT CODE SHOWED HEADLAMP MODULE (TIPM)
