On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at approximately 1:30 PM, the driver’s side headrest, part of my 2013 Dodge Journey’s AHR (Active Head Restraint) system suddenly exploded for no apparent reason. I was alone in the vehicle, waiting to make a left turn. The sudden loud, sharp sound and impact to the back of my head startled and stunned me; I felt as if I had been rear ended. I looked back but there was no one behind me. Not knowing what had happened, I felt scared and light headed. I was still able to complete my turn but I pulled over to compose myself and ensure that I was okay. I didn’t become aware of the failure of the headrest until I returned home and my husband inspected the vehicle. As I write this incident report 24 hours after it occurred, I am experiencing soreness and discomfort in my neck and plan to seek a medical assessment. The vehicle is available for inspection until repairs are made. The manufacturer acknowledges that the sudden failure of this component is a defect for this vehicle but as yet it has not been the subject of a recall. No inspection of the head rest component by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

My headrest randomly deployed/opened. I have contacted the dealership, and spoke directly, with Dodge; still no success. I have been trying to get this issue fixed for over a year; I still have a broken headrest that hurts my neck and makes it uncomfortable to drive. Please RECALL the headrest for 2013 Dodge Journey! This is my second form and NOTHING has been done yet!!

The driver side seat headrest cushion deployed automatically. There was no car collision. I noticed the seat headrest deployed after returning to the car hours later. I liked into the interior back side of the cushion part and I saw broken pieces inside.

We were going thru the park we did not hit anything nor where we going fast we were only going 14/15 mph . I was sitting in the pasenger seat and all of a sudden we heard what sounded like a loud pop and my head was hit by the head rest for no reason . We were not in an accident or anthing to cause it to just all of a sudden deploy.

As I was driving to pick my son up from work at 10pm, I started to drive my 2013 dodge journey sxt and noticed my head position didn't feel right. I got to my sons job and as we were making our way to the gas station to get gas before we headed home my headrest hit me in the back of the head randomly. The active headrest sprung forward hitting me in the back of the head. Luckily I was not driving at that moment or it could have caused me to crash, being that it was night time and raining. I got home where I could get my flash light out and give it a good looking over and realized that it the clips on the inside of the active headrest broke. I tried to reset the headrest to dee if there was some other mechanism that would let it re-clip back in place and it just keeps springing forward. I have not taken it to get it looked at yet as I am writing you on the same night of the incident. I tool a picture of the headrest in it sprung forward state. I have also read alot of reviews on cargurus website about other dodge journey owners having the same issues. Over 20 complaints regarding this same issue. There were jo warning signs other than me noticing my head position felt strange before the headrest completely sprung forward.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ALL THE SUDDEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON IN MY STEERING LOCKED UP. I PULLED TO A MIDDLE LANE SINCE IT WAS IN A VERY BUSY ROAD AND SHUT MY CAR OFF AND TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON AND IT STARTED SHAKING. AGAIN TURN THE CAR OFF LET IT SIT FOR A LITTLE BIT TRY TO TURN IT ON AND IT STARTED SHAKING AGAIN. TRY TO THIRD TIME I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME THE STEERING WHEEL UNLOCKED AND DROVE IT HOME FINE BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON THE WHOLE TIME.

Electrical system keeps failing. Ecm emitts erroneous commands and changing it doesn’t solve the problem. Dealer won’t work on it and Chrysler doesn’t know. Research says that this is happening by the thousands.

The car inside electrical would turn on, radio on, lighting on, fan on, but the engine light would be on and the car would not start. Not even a tow truck can jump it. I've fixed it once and they said it was the alternator, but that was 6 mths ago.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. I got in my car to go to work and noticed that the front headrests were busted open. I didn't not know that there were airbags in them, but apparently there are? The car has not been in an accident and was just sitting in my driveway. I have read up on this a little and it has happened to many other people as well. There is no reason for the cause, just a defect.

I was just pulling out of my driveway and it broke open air bag hasn't deployed but driver side head rest air bag compartment sounded like a small explosion but it broke open. There was no accident, I didn't hit anything just did it on it's own.

My 2013 Dodge Journey is just one of thousands of Dodge/Chrysler/GM vehicles to have transmission failures with this type of engine (3.6L V6) and transmission (62TE). These transmission units are exorbitantly expensive and fail time and again paired with these engines on vehicles such as CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, 200, AVENGER, JOURNEY. This was a serious misstep and miscalculation by these companies, and they are costing their customers thousands upon thousands of dollars. Dodge and Chrysler (now Stellantis) should be held accountable, especially since they are now a conglomerate of the most consistently unreliable vehicles (Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Ram, Fiat).

our 2013 dodge journey has been fixed three times off for the driveshaft. The mechanic shop keeps stating that the bolts are falling out and they have no reason to give us. We have to purchase the boats from that dealership in the cost a good amount of money, and we’ve only had the car for about four years

In the past 3 years I have had my transmission go out on my vehicle 3 times. All 3 times I was driving when it happened and my car just stopped shifting or would not shift past 2nd gear. I have spoken to numerous mechanics about this issue, and every single one has told me that is a know issue with my specific type of dodge. It is an extreme safety issue to be getting on the freeway and have your transmission suddenly stop working. It is also ridiculous that consumers should have to come out of pocket 5K every 20,000 miles or so to fix or replace a defective transmission that dodge refuses to deal with. I contacted Dodge customer service to try and get my transmission fixed and was told that since they have not recalled it, they will not help me cover the cost. What I don't understand is why they have not issued a recall. If dodge service centers know about the issue, then dodge corporation should, and they should have dealt with this year's ago. I have documentation of the first 2 repairs, and an estimate for this latest one but can not include them from the device I am on.

The contact's wife owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. The stated while driving 65 MPH, the power steering assist failed without warning. The contact used excessive force to steer the vehicle off to the side of the roadway. The contact got a ride home and trailered the vehicle back to his residence. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V273000 (Steering). The dealer was notified of the issue and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.

The drive seat headrest popped open for no apparent reason. My son had placed a hand on the back of the seat when entering the back seat and it just popped right open. From what I understand this is a safety feature when in an accident. That feature is no longer working so that places myself at risk when driving. It obviously malfunctioned, and needs to be replaced. I have not yet taken it to get serviced. There were no warning lights regarding this issue and this happened about six months ago.

Battery, car started turning off. Turned off on us when we made a stop right after getting off of freeway, luckily no car were coming. Changed Battery but still had problems. Then check engine light turned on, car stared pulling, had a mechanic check it and said it was the engine. We would have to replace it and that's those kind of cars we're having a lot of problems.

Our 2013 Dodge Journey (only owners) has had a few recalls and had multiple challenges with overheating within the engine. Although, We have had all the recalls we are aware of completed it continues to shut off and not start. Ours, our children, and other passengers safety has been at risk as we have been strained with no running vehicle and the unknown if the vehicle will just shut off while in operation. While we can not guarantee the sources of the general internet it is a common search and alignment to say an abundance of 2013 Dodge Journey owners have experienced this and have been searching for answers yet have not received an adequate response. Our vehicle has been inspected by a Dodge facility, and two other independent mechanics to no avail we are in this situation with no answers nor solutions. Our check engine light has been present since we can remember and we were told on multiple attempts even after the engine beauty cover recall that it was ok, obviously it’s not and is sad the quality of the engine lasted barely 128,000 miles. Our Journey has been un-drivable as it is stated to need a new engine from the overheating.

MY CAR STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME (2014) IT HAPPENED I WAS MAKING A TURN ON A CITY STREET. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A SCHOOL ZONE. I TRIED STARTING IT AND NOTHING. TWO GENTLEMEN HAD TO PUSH MY CAR OUT OF TRAFFIC. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE, IMAGINE HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY SOMEONE WOULD OF HIT FROM ME BEHIND AS I HAD NO POWER AT ALL. THERE WAS NO WAY OF WARNING THE CARS BEHIND ME AS I HAD NO POWER. I REPLACED THE BATTERY IN 1/2021 AND ALTERNATOR IN 3/2021. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE DODGE FORUM WEBSITE I BELIEVE SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE FOR SAFETY ISSUES. ALSO MY BLUETOOTH SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING THAT IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. I DID COMPLAIN TO DODGE AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THE DODGE FORUM WEBSITE. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND ENGINE DIED. DASH LIGHTS AND GAUGES FLASHED OFF AND ON. SPEEDOMETER WENT BACK AND FORTH. THEN IT STARTED RUNNING AGAIN. A COUPLE DAYS LATER IT DIED WHILE TURNING A CORNER. I HAD TO RESTART VEHICLE. A COUPLE DAYS AFTER THAT I WENT TO START THE CAR AND NO LIGHTS, GAUGES OR NOTHING WORKED. THE BATTERY AND REMOTE KEY WERE FINE. CHECKED TO SEE IF HORN WOULD BLOW, IT WORKED. MY DODGE JOURNEY'S ENGINE SHUT OFF TWICE WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH NO WARNING. NO LOSS OF LIGHTS OR RADIO, BUT THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF AND CAR CANNOT BE RESTARTED. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, AND RIGHT AFTER ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR DIED. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED, AND HAD AN AUTO PART STORE DO SOME BASIC TESTS AND WAS TOLD IT WAS JUST A BAD BATTERY, HOWEVER WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE DAY AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY. THIS TIME I WAS ON A CITY STREET HAVING JUST EXITED OFF OF THE INTERSTATE. I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND AGAIN THE CAR JUST LOST POWER DUE TO THE ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN. AGAIN IT WOULD NOT START AND COULD NOT BE JUMP STARTED SO HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. DEALER WAS ABLE TO GET A CODE P061C, AND FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS TO UPDATE THE PCM. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS APPLIED TO THE POWER CONTROL MODULE. I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH THE FACT THAT MY CAR CAN JUST SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE WITH NO WARNING AT ALL. VERY DANGEROUS.

I purchased a 2013 dodge journey approximately 8 months ago. Before I bought it I asked the salesperson if the front end was out of alignment, as it pulled to the right. He told me everything was checked, and it was in excellent condition. He told me the reason it pulled to the right is that the roads were made with a slight slant for water to run off. It continued to pull, although it was drivable. When the snow fell, Oct. 2021, and the roads were packed with snow and ice I could barely keep the vehicle on the road. It kept wanting to swerve off the road to the right. I had to drive 20 miles an hour to and from work on bad roads. There were times I had to stop as I felt little to no control. I had never had anything like this happen to me. I called Iron Trail Motors in Virginia, MN (where I purchased it) and explained what was happening. The person I spoke to said their car was slipping back and forth, also. She said she had an SUV and they aren't easy to control in the winter. I've had to replace 3 different wheel bearings in that time. I was just in the shop last week. They told me the reason the wheel bearings were going is the LR and RR upper and lower control arms were bad. Lateral links. They must have been bad when I bought the vehicle, along with many other repairs. The work they need to do is $1200 -$1700. I was informed driving with a bad control arm is dangerous. To start, a control arm is a hinged suspension link situated between the chassis and the suspension upright or hub that attaches to the wheel. If something is wrong with the control arm, the following can happen: Your steering will be unpredictable and hard to control Your vehicle may pull to one side, even when you are holding the steering wheel straight It still needs to be repaired.

2013 DODGE JOURNEY APPROXIMATELY 100000 MILE. UNEVEN WEAR ON REAR TIRES (EXCESSIVE INSIDE WEAR) DUE TO CAMBER. FOR SOME REASON THE REAR WHEELS ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE TILT INWARD CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE INNER TIRE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN RECENTLY SERVICED WITH AN ALIGNMENT, THE REAR CAMBER IS NOT ADJUSTABLE STOCK AND REQUIRES AFTERMARKET CONTROL ARMS TO ALLOW FOR ADJUSTMENT WHICH WHERE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 1000 MILE SINCE THE TIRE REPLACEMENT AND ALIGNMENT AND THERE IS ALREADY NOTICEABLE WEAR ON THE INSIDE OF THE REAR TIRES. DUE TO THE CAMBER ISSUE THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.

AXLE NUTS - 2013 DODGE JOURNEY, FELT AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO BUCKLE UNDER THE FRONT END, ESPECIALLY IF I HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP. I LOUD CLUNK TYPE NOISE WOULD ACCOMPANY THE JOLT FEELING. BEGAN OCCURRING MORE OFTEN, TO INCLUDE WHEN VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT. TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP THE FIRST TIME, AND THE ORDER WAS WRITTEN UP AS 'RE-TORQUE THE AXLE NUTS'. ISSUE CONTINUED, BUT WAS ALWAYS DESCRIBED AS 'COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE'. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE AXLE NUTS AS IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THEY HAD BEEN COMPROMISED. I INFORMED THEM OF THE PREVIOUS FIX, AND WAS TOLD THAT YOU CAN NOT RE-TORQUE AXLE NUTS, THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO MAKE ME PAY, AS IT WAS SOMETHING NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL I BROUGHT UP WHAT THEY HAD DONE, SO THEY TOOK THE LOSS. I WOULD THINK THAT THE AXLE NUTS SHOULD HAVE NEVER BECOME LOOSE TO BEGIN WITH, AS IT SEEMS AS IF IT WOULD BE A HIGH RISK FACTOR IN LIABILITY. I was getting into leave my car and three lights came up. The traction light, ABS, and my Brake light. It rained really hard yesterday and now I have all three lights on my dash. Supposedly the recall is no more and I have to pay out of pocket. I just bought this car back in May of 2022. I should not be held responsible for paying out of pocket for this recall. THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT PROBLEMS I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH SINCE DAY ONE OF OWNING MY DODGE JOURNEY. THE FIRST BEING ELECTRICAL, MY CLOCK RUNS FAST BECAUSE OF THE POWER FLOW TO IT. I HAVE 2 POWER OUTLETS IN MY CAR THAT DO NOT WORK PROPERLY AND 1 OF THEM THE DEALERSHIP IN FLORIDA MESSED UP TO FIX ONE OF THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE SECOND ISSUE IS WHEN I ACCELERATE MY TRANSMISSION CLICKS, I WAS PRETTY MUCH TOLD I WAS CRAZY BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE NOISE AND NOW THAT I DO NOT HAVE A WARRANTY THEY ARE REPORTING IT TO ME AND WANT ME TO PAY. THE LAST AND FINAL ISSUE IS MY BRAKES I HAVE HAD MY BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED AND MY BREAK MASTER CYLINDER AND I STILL KEEP LOSING MY BRAKES. IF I HAVE TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES OR PUT ANY REAL PRESSURE MY BRAKES GO SOFT AND TO THE FLOOR. AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THE PASSENGER AUTOMATIC FRONT DOOR LOCK STOPPED WORKING AND I PAID TO HAVE A NEW ONE INSTALLED. NOW THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK HAS STOPPED WORKING. WHEN THEY STOP WORKING THEY WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK USING THE KEY FOB OR THE BUTTONS INSIDE THE CAR. EACH TIME THIS OCCURS THE ACTUATOR HAS TO BE REPLACED. SINCE KEEPING THE DOORS SECURELY CLOSED DURING A CRASH IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.

The Catalytic Converter is the issue per our mechanic. We have had several issues out of the the vehicle, resulting in more money than the car is worth. The car no longer reaches over 55-60 mph, which is unsafe on the highway. Many times the car wont start. We thought it was the battery which have been changed several times, but the last mechanic stated it in fact the recall part that is needed.

I HAVE FILED A LEMON LAW SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER AND BILL LUKE, ONLY TO BE DECLINED AS THEY STATE IT WAS ALL WITHIN WARRANTY. I HAD RCVD INFO ON RECALL T47, W/AIRBAGS AND STEERING WIRING ISSUE, SO HAD THAT TAKEN CARE OF ALSO. I P/U JOURNEY, ON MY WAY HM THE ESC LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP, CAR WOULD PULL TO THE LEFT AND ALOT OF RATTLING UNDER THE FRONT END, PULLING ME INTO OTHER LANE. IT WAS DRY, NO RAIN ON A STRAIGHT ROAD. CALLED HAD TO WAIT 4 DAYS TO TAKE BACK IN, TOLD THEY FORGOT TO RE-INITIALIZE ABS SYSTEM AND THAT THE BATTERY BEING DISCONNECTED CAUSED ISSUE, I ASKED WHY IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AFTER 1ST BATTERY WAS REPLACED, THEY DIDN'T KNOW. ON MY WAY HOME, THE ISSUE WAS BACK, TOOK IT BACK TO LHMILLER DODGE, WAS THEN TOLD THAT THEY NEED TO DIAGNOSE, SAYING IT COULD BE CLOCK SPRING/AXLE/DRIVESHAFT/DIFFERENTIAL AND IT WILL COST SEVERAL HUNDREDS JUST TO DIAGNOSE. I ASKED IF THEY COULD REPLACE THE INITIAL RECALLED R16 ESC PART AND WAS TOLD THAT WOULD BE AT MY EXPENSE. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID NOT OPEN THE STEERING WHEEL/SHAFT TO HAVE CAUSED THE ISSUE W/CLOCK SPRING DURING T47 REPAIR. THE INSTRUCTIONS ON REPLACEMENT SHOW THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO OPEN IT AND BE IN DIRECT CONTACT W/CLOCK SPRING. THEY ARE WANTING TO PAY FOR WHAT WAS NOT REPLACED AND WHAT THEY DAMAGED. Recently I have been having issues with the rear back up camera in the vehicle not working turning off beeping when nothing is around, also glitching and showing the camera upside down. I am also experiencing battery drainage in the vehicle I have just had the battery replaced and the alternator replaced as well, while I am searching online for common issues this seems to be happening to a large amount of people and the issues just keep equaling out to more then one problem. The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that on numerous occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact then stated that her husband was able to tow the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where they disconnected the Bluetooth module. The contact stated that the vehicle was operable however, a few days later, while driving, the check engine and throttle body warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle stalled again. The contact stated that she allowed the vehicle to rest for fifteen minutes to before being able to restart the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to an inspection station to be inspected but failed due to the mass air flow sensor. The contact stated that she took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the mass air flow sensor needed to be replaced. The mass air flow sensor was replaced however, the vehicle failed inspection again. The contact then stated that on another occasion while driving, the vehicle failed to respond while the accelerator pedal was depressed and stalled without warning. The traction control, check engine, and the electronic throttle control warning lights remained illuminated. The contact was concerned for her safety while operating the vehicle. The contact then stated that she took the vehicle to another independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the throttle body and crankshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired multiple times for the throttle body, crankshaft, and mass air flow sensor; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

Vehicle will not start. Took to dealership and they charged battery. After repairing some recommendations I got the car back and it wouldn’t start. Same issue as before, I took it back and they said it was dead battery. I paid for a new battery and drove it home. Next day it would not start. I’ve been reading some reader boards and I’m told it has to do with wiring to the transmission. It gets cold in Alaska and my daughter and granddaughter can’t be stranded in inclement weather. Tested the starter and the alternator and both are good. New battery and new key fob battery and still a no go. Dodge needs to figure this out, as their certified mechanics can’t seem to diagnose the issue.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. The contact stated initially noticed that power steering fluid was leaking onto his driveway. The contact also stated that while driving at slower speeds, extra effort was needed to steer the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V273000 (Steering) however, the Vin was not included. Additionally, he also stated that while his wife was at stop light, the vehicle shut-off while accelerating. The contact stated that his wife was unaware if any warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. She was able to immediately restart the vehicle and resume normal driving. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

MY 2013 DODGE JOURNEY HAS A RANDOM NO START. IT WILL JUST CLICK. THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND STARTER ARE ALL GOOD. I USUALLY HAVE TO JUMP IT TO GET IT TO START. SOMETIMES THAT DOESN'T EVEN WORK. IT WILL MAKE THE LIGHTS START TO GO HAYWIRE. THEY WILL FLICKER OR FLASH ON AND OFF. IT WILL SAY NO KEY DETECTED WHEN I'M LITERALLY SITTING WITH MY KEY FOB IN HAND. IT IS A PUSH BUTTON START. I HAVE GOT THE BATTERIES REPLACED IN THE KEY FOB AS WELL. THIS WILL HAPPEN AT RANDOM. IT'S HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH A SLIGHT INCLINE SO WE PARKED IT ON THE CURB WHERE IT WAS FLAT TO SEE OF MAYBE THE INCLINE OF THE DRIVEWAY HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT, BUT IT'S DONE IT ON FLAT SURFACES AS WELL. I HAVE TRIED TO LOOK UP REASONS WHY AND HAVE SEEN THIS AS AN ISSUE WITH A LOT OF OTHER JOURNEY OWNERS. THIS STARTED BACK IN THE SPRING AND HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES IN A WEEK THEN IT WILL STOP FOR ALMOST A MONTH AND THE CYCLE WILL START ALL OVER AGAIN.

AT FIRST THE FUEL CAP LIGHT KEPT COMING ON, DODGE DEALER TOLD US TO JUST HAVE THE CAP REPLACED (WE DID) BUT THE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF STILL AND NOT RESOLVING ANY PROBLEMS. THEN A RED LIGHTENING BOLT CAME ON A COUPLE TIMES AND THAT'S WHEN MY CAR WOULD SHUT OFF AT A STOP AND TRY RESTARTING ON ITS OWN. NOW AT THE MOMENT NO LIGHTS ARE ON AND IT'S STILL STALLING. AND EVERY TIME IS STALLS IT'S ALWAYS IN DRIVE AND WILL COMPLETELY TURN OFF. IT HAS STALLED IN PARKED A FEW TIMES ALSO BUT MAJORITY OF THE TIME IS WHEN STOPPED IN DRIVE. THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. AFTER GOOGLING MY EXPERIENCE, I FOUND NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. DURING THESE EVENTS THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. I WAS TRAVELING TO WORK ON THE CITY STREET IN MY 2013 DODGE JOURNEY SXT, A PERSON RAN THE RED LIGHT AND STRUCK ME NEAR THE GAS TANK AND THEN STRUCK ME A SECOND TIME IN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. SIX OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED IN THE CRASH. I AM WRITING THIS BECAUSE I KNOW THAT I AM HERE TODAY DUE TO THE BUILD OF THE 2013 DODGE JOURNEY SXT. I WAS AT THE DRIVE IN MOVIE AND HAD THE TRUCK RUNNING FOR PART OF THE MOVIE. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AND JUST LISTENED TO THE REST OF THE MOVIE VIA MY RADIO AND HAD THE LIGHTS OFF. WHEN THE MOVIE WAS OVER I I COULD NOT CRANK MY TRUCK. YOU COULD SEE THE LIGHTS ON IN THE INSIDE BUT MY TRUCK DASH SAID MY KEY WAS NOT IN VEHICLE OF WHICH IT WAS. THEN IT SAID VEHICLE NOT IN PARK OF WHICH IT WAS. MY UCONNECT SCREEN KEPT TRYING TO LOAD AND WOULD JUST KEEP GOING OUT. I HAD 3 PEOPLE TRY TO JUMP IT JUST IN CASE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD EVEN THOUGH I KNEW IT WASN'T INCLUDING THE TOW SERVICE FOR MY INSURANCE. NONE OF THIS WORKED. I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME NOW I CAN NOT LOCK MY VEHICLE CAUSE IT HAS NO POWER. MY DASH SAYS MY KEY IS NOT IN THE VEHICLE OF WHICH IT WAS AND THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK OF WHICH IT WAS. THE 2013 DODGE JOURNEY'S VIN NUMBER IS: 3C4PDCAB9DT2241. THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMISTRATION HAS STATED TO ME THAT THE RECALL FOR THE ENGINES'S COVER RECALL HAS PASSED THE 60 DAY GRACE PERIOD. TO ENSURE SATISFACTORY RECALL PERFORMANCE AND RECTIFICATION I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS VEHICLE TO BE BROUGHT BACK BECAUSE OF THE RECALL AND A HORRENDOUS SMELL THAT STARTED IN 2014 AND CONTINUES TODAY. THE SMELL SO TERRIBLE CONTRIBUTED TO COUGHING, ALLERGIES, SNEEZING AND ITCHING FROM MYSELF AND OTHER PASSENGERS. THE SMELL AS SINCE BEEN DIAGNOSED AGAIN AND AUGUST OF 2015. I HAVE NOT PICKED UP THIS VEHICLE FROM DARCARS OF NEW CARROLLTON BECAUSE OF THE RECALL AND THE SMELL THAT HAS YET BEEN FIXED. I HAVE SINCE BEEN PLACED ON TOTAL DISABILITY IN WHICH MY ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR AS STATED MY STRESS LEVEL AND THE WEAR AND TEAR ON MY KNEES CAN NOT TAKE ON ANY MORE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD 4 ORTHOSCOPIC KNEE SURGERIES, SPRAIN ANKLE AND CARPAL TUNNEL THAT MAKE MY PAIN LEVEL EACH DAY UNBEARABLE.
