I received a card from NHTSA about two years ago on this issue possibly due to NHTSA Action Number: EA24003. I am still having this issue and now it is worse. 2 years ago, it started with the driver side window not opening intermittently. Then the door locks would not operate from the driver side controls. Now every window will not open and the driver door is not recognized by the car. When opening or closing the driver door, nothing happens. In the past, if I turned off the car left my key fob in the car and closed the door when it would lock, the horn would sound, and the doors would unlock. When getting out of the car, I would open the door, and the radio display panel would turn off. Now, it stays on with the engine off. Thankfully there is a delay and eventually turns off. It may be the driver's door harness as it can be easily searched on the internet as a faulty product. Again, NHSTA originally approached me two years ago and the issue has not gotten worse. $800 minimum to replace the door harness. Hopefully that fixes it temporarily. Start date given is an estimate on when I received a card from NHSTA on this issue.

The contact owns a 2018 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed failures with the transmission, catalytic converter, and motor mounts. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V524000 (Electrical System), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 86,000.

Back up camera glitches to flicker black screen or is upside down. Works intermittently, most of the time it is a black screen. Driver window does roll down when the door is opened.

There were no incidents, My backup camera was working. And now it’s not . When I go to backup the rear view mirror is somewhat dark making is difficult to see, especially at night.If possible I try no to backup. I did notice when I googled in recalls on the 2018 journey backup camera, there was a recall. Thanking you in advance. [XXX] . My car stalled and showed the check engine light. I took it to my usual repair shop. The first diagnostics indicated coils and spark plugs were the problem. So they we re fixed. Shortly (a few miles) after the repair, the car stalled. The second diagnostic at the shop indicated a new battery was needed. That was installed. (A few more miles after this repair) the car c ontinued to stall. For the third diagnostic, I was told to take it to a transmission shop.(and "I wouldn't drive it til it was repaired") I had it towed to a transmission shop. They rebuilt the transmission, and found (what I consider the reason for a recall) the flex plate had its center torn out. This may have caused shards to damage parts of the engine. There was a lot of fluid leakage and they had to install a new radiator. They wanted me to have them check it out in 2 weeks. In less than a week the car stalled and died,(thankfully in a parking lot) with all the dashboard warning lights. I was close to a dealer, so I had it towed to the Dodge dealer, hoping they would know how to fix it. There was still a lot of fluid leakage. They replaced the radiator and other stuff, and for the past week or so it is driving well.

The following recall was supposedly corrected by my Dodge dealer in Watertown, CT: NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V723000 Manufacturer Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) Components EXTERIOR LIGHTING The headlight lenses were replaced and in 2 years time, the driver side lense is always fogged up and as a result I cannot see at night due to the dimness. I have brought my car to the dealer, and they said to contact FCA, the mfr of the headlight assy., and when I contact them they tell me I need to contact Dodge. No one will help me with this defective assy they installed on the recall

The contact owns a 2018 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while parked or driving, the headlights would become fogged. The skid and a check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed where it was diagnosed with sensor issues. The vehicle was repaired however the warning light re-illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because it was not under recall. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,784.

The contact owns a 2018 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while parked the contact observed condensation in the headlight assemblies. Additionally, the contact stated that while turned off she observed an unknown noise emanating from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlights and an unknown electrical part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. On another occasion, the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure could not be replicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

The contact stated that while entering the vehicle, the contact observed water filling the driver's and passenger's side headlights, potentially reducing nighttime visibility. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced both headlights, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided not assistance. The failure mileage was 24,917.

I was driving home in the dark and I heard a loud bang pop! It scared me at first I didn't see anything wrong but when I got home to looked I notice the passenger head rest popped out! I am happy that no one was sitting next to me. That could have been so scary. I have uploaded a picture of it not extended out. I was driving 70 mph going home on the interstate. No accident nothing. Just came out of no where. This was scary.

WHILE DRIVING, WITHOUT ANY WARNING,THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HEADREST EXPLODED, HIT MY WIFE IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD AND SNAPPED HER NECK FORWARD, ALMOST KNOCKED HER OUT. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF THIS EXPLODED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND CAUSED AN ACCIDENT (I'LL BET THIS HAS HAPPENED BUT WAS OVERLOOKED). I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER AND THEY CLAIMED THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE...I ADVISED THEM TO DO SOME ONLINE RESEARCH...IT HAS HAPPENED THOUSANDS OF TIMES! THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT COST ABOUT $1000 TO REPLACE (TIMES TWO FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE AS WELL). NOW WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS WE HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN THE DRIVERS SEAT HEADREST WILL EXPLODE! AS FOR THIS BEING A SAFETY FEATURE TO PROTECT AGAINST A REAR END COLLISION, IT IS NOT, AND THERE IS NO INDICATION OF SOMEONE HITTING THE REAR END OF THIS VEHICLE. I SPOKE TO A MECHANIC I KNOW AND HE HAS NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING.

The passengers side head rest came apart. It came apart so fast it was like it exploded. It was almost like it had an air bag on the inside of it. I just started the unit in our drive way, went to back out, and it came apart. I tried to reset the head rest but the plastic locking tabs on the inside no longer work. This needs to be a recall!

I was entering a highway on the entrance ramp when I was hit in the back of the head by the headrest, with no warning it just burst apart and caused dizziness. I pulled over as I literally felt like I was in a car accident. I continued to feel dizzy and experienced neck and lower back pain. I spoke with my Doctor this morning, and contacted the local Dodge, Chrysler dealer and have an appointment on 5/22.

I have a 2018 Dodge Journey SE with currently 70,000 miles. I'm the second owner & purchased it with only 11,000 miles on it. The front brakes | anti-lock braking system (ABS) experienced failure when I needed to stop the vehicle. I was approaching a 4-way intersection and had the green light ahead of me not knowing that a semi truck was entering the intersection due to other vehicles in left turn lane blocking my view momentarily, when I realized/saw it, immediately I hit brake pedal, the front brakes produced a grinding noise, and grinding was also felt in/on brake pedal. VEHICLE DIDN'T STOP IN TIME, I SKID/SLID DIRECTLY IN THE SEMI'S PATH & INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION ALMOST CRASHING INTO THE FRONT/SIDE OF IT, BEFORE VEHICLE FINALLY STOPPED! GOD SAVED ME FROM WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE LIFE THREATENING CRASH DUE TO CATASTROPHIC FAILURE! Vehicle has been inspected by local service/repair shop prior to this event/failure for the same exact failure. They said nothing could be determined, located or seen that would indicate why such a failure occurs on and off. ABSOLUTELY ZERO warning indicators of any kind occurred before, during or after failure. Prior to this event and on multiple occasions the same exact failure type has happened, but during a rain storm or after one when the road is still wet thus the reason I took it to shop previously. I only have this one vehicle and rely on it heavily to get myself and kids to and from work and school etc daily. With a catastrophic failure such as this I would hope the manufacturer would step up to ensure these are looked at seriously and correct the issue so it doesn't continue to happen. My VIN is not part of a recall or anything service related to this failure type.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed. The contact stated that all four tires were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to Midas but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic; however, no cause for the failure was found. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

THE BRAKE PEDAL FEELS SPONGY WHEN I PRESS IT DOWN, FEELS LIKE THERE'S AIR IN THE SYSTEM. I GOT THE BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED A FEW MONTHS AGO AT THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. NOW THERE'S ANOTHER ISSUE WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I HAVE TO STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO INCREASE HORSEPOWER. THE RPM INCREASES, BUT IT TAKES A WHILE TO GAIN HORSEPOWER.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AT ABOUT 10,000 MILES STARTED HAVING A SHUTTERING ISSUE WHEN BRAKING WASN'T TO BAD TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY FIXED IT I COULD TELL SOMETHINGS WASN'T RIGHT IT KEPT GETTING WORSE NOW WHERE AT 40,000 MILES IT'S EXTREMELY BAD THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE THE ROTORS ON THE FRONT I HAD THE REPLACE SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE IT'S FEELS THE WORSE THE DEALERSHIP AND FCA WOULD NOT HELP RESOLVED THIS ISSUES IF ANY PAPER IS REQUIRED FROM THE DEALERSHIP I CAN GET IT IT'S WORSE COMING DOWN HILL

Car shuddered while driving, started making metal clanging noises’ and stalled in the middle of an intersection. I just had it worked on and had to fully replace the transmission (approximately $4000) due to the torque converter shredded metal in the transmission and seized up. Car after stalling would not go into reverse or drive. Would start up, but once in gear would make loud metal clanging sounds and shut down. No warning lights shown on dashboard.

Cylinder misfire. Cylinder leak. Engine damage. Dodge issued Service Bulletin TSB-09-002-14 for model years 2011-2013 for vehicles with the same 3.6L engine and same issue. TSB provided warranty extension for covered models up to model year 2013. My 2018 model year has the same defective engine type and Dodge refuses to repair because the TSB, which predates the manufacturers date for my vehicle, doesn't cover my vehicle.

My 2018 dodge journey shutdown when driving. There is recalls for this but not for my dodge journey. This is unsafe. The manufacturer should pay for it to be fixed. I have read so many store on all makes of dodge journeys they all have same problem but only certain ones are being recalled.

Cylinder 2 is misfiring, for coils and spark plugs. Vehicle had tune up and replaced all spark plugs and coils in March. Check engine still coming on reading same code, has been checked multiple times, coils and spark plugs are perfect and brand new.

POWER TRAIN

10.17.25 Vehicle started making tapping noise under the hood. I wasn’t able to identify the problem. I took it to the dealership and they found noise coming from the transmission and stated possible front pump, but wasn’t for sure. They wanted to do an additional diagnostic after I had already paid $197.27, for 3 more hours at $200 per hour. I took vehicle to another company who found noise was coming from the transmission and stated that the transmission will need to be replaced as they found metal shavings in the pan. They flushed the fluid, replaced the filter, test drove noise went away. They advised that I would make it back to Georgia but definitely suggested to get transmission checked. I made it 107 miles from home when it stalled out in 5 o’clock traffic. I tried to accelerate and but it lost motive power. I tapped the breaks tried again after 2 attempts I was able to get to the right shoulder out of the heavy traffic without incident. I was on the side of the road for 4hrs before an older man pulled up to assist. I had to be pushed 2 exits to a gas station. We added more transmission fluid still no motive power it stalled again. Got it towed to a shop to be checked for 3rd time was told it’s the transmission and as of this morning it has been towed to a 4th shop who handles transmission. In my online search for recalls I noticed the same thing happened with the 2016 Dodge Journey as well. I’ve had this vehicle just over a year. I received it with 42k miles on it, awesome condition, apparently one owner who appears to have taken care of it from the looks of vehicle. No major/minor issues noted. By God’s grace I made it out of heavy traffic safely to the off shoulder which was still frightening as well. I may be the first one to report this issue but it needs to be addressed not only for me but everyone who owns one. Metal shavings inside the transmission is crazy. No warning lights on the dash to show something is wrong.

On October 22, 2021, I was driving my 2018 Dodge Journey Crossroad and upon sitting at a traffic light I press the gas and my truck started humming for about five seconds and it stopped. I brought this truck on December 4th, 2019 and it has roughly 64,000 miles on it but I kept up my routine maintenance. I am a person with disabilities and I need my vehicle to get to work. Please look into this matter my transmission should not have gone out so soon! Thank you for your kind attention.

AWD SYSTEM KEEPS FAILING, REAR AXLE NOT GETTING ANY POWER FROM THE TRANSFER CASE. FRONT WHEELS SPIN ON GRAVEL OR WET PAVEMENT WHILE BACK WHEELS DON'T MOVE. THEN THE AWD SYSTEM SERVICE LIGHT KICKS ON. HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES & THEY STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THIS CREATES A DANGEROUS CONDITION ON WET OR SNOWY ROADWAYS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DICK'S COUNTRY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (503-746-9621, LOCATED AT 767 SW BASELINE ST, HILLSBORO, OR 97123) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE LEAK WAS NOT PROBLEMATIC AND WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH MORE LEAKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.

The back up camera intermittently comes on when vehicle in reverse. Sometimes it shows a camera with a line, sometimes an image then it disappears and sometimes the image is hazy or distorted. It is never consistent nor reliable. The rear view mirror cannot be used to its full size because of the image of the failed camera.

In my journey my back up camera is the mirror not the center one. The thing is my mirror doing the same thing cant even see and idk how. Its all blurry the thing is the mirror looks really good and the camera. Im original owner. Also the cruise control doesn't even work or operate. Its wild how having a vehicle will have so many important things fail. I see Hondas from the 90s and their cruise working, and cars that had their first back up like a 2010 acura zdx I tinted worked like it was brand new still and its still ome for tht owner.

My back up camera isn't working and none of the locks work with the key fob. I bought my car from a car lot and it was a fleet car and it says all recalls have been fixed but my car hasn't been fixed at all and I don't know why. My car won't even charge my phone at all in either port so it has a big wiring problem. I have kids and grandkids in my car all the time and I can not see behind me because my camera hasn't worked since the day I got it which is 10/20/23 and that is really dangerous and I can't even charge my phone to call someone even if I do have an accident

Unknown!!! I have had my radio replaced two times already for defect and now the radio want shut off again and it want allow a phone to connect to it also now the controls to the air flowing system (ac) want shut off and stay off when u push the off button . It comes back on when u try to shut it off. It’s a 2018 and it only has 40 thousand miles on it . I got it replaced two times for defect in the past three years . I’m tired of this happening. You should recall and fix it at no cost to me this is crazy. I’m disappointed about this. I had both replaced at dealer. So there is a record through mopar! Please let me no about this and how to handle it .. I about ready to sue.. I paid all this money for a vehicle I can’t even listen to the radio and can’t cut my air off .. let me no. Now when question in next section is answered the date of incident is when it stated then followed after that another time now is the third time I’m going through it again .

Power steering leak, started in cold weather. Found other 2018 models have had a recall for the same issue - but my vin is not listed. Yes the vehicle can be inspected. No I’ve not had it looked at, I’ve been refilling the power steering fluid regularly and it leaks out. If the leak persists and the power steering goes completely out while operating it could put myself, passengers and others at risk. No warning lamps. I just noticed the steering was difficult.

1. The power steering system keeps leaking for multiple different locations and is intermittent. The leak is never in the same spot. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. There is a potential for safety problems with this if someone does not realize what the noise is coming from the vehicle. There is a whining noise that starts but not until there is no fluid in the reservoir. There is also no change in steering ability. If the power steering should lock up, that could cause a potential deadly situation. 3. The problem has been reproduced at an independent shop. 4. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone else but the independent shop. 5. There are no warning lights that come on and no message pop up for low fluid levels. The vehicle makes a whining noise that progressively gets louder but only when there is no fluid in the reservoir. This started about 6 months ago with the intermittent problem. The 2016 Dodge Journey did have a recall for a similar problem like this.

Hey, The Power Steering Hose Busted for the 2nd Time Last then a Year apart. I believe this is a safety concern because of of no where the car becomes hard to Turn. I also seen that there was a Recall on the Steering hose for 2016 Dodge Journeys. I believe you all should Look into 2017 and 2018 as well. I Live in Minnesota and i Only have this Problem when it gets Extremely cold out.

WHILE DRIVING FROM SAN DIEGO TO DALLAS WITH CRUISE ENGAGED IT SUDDENLY STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND BECAME ERATIC SPEEDING UP AND SLOWING DOWN. ENGINE RPM FLUCTUATED AT SAME TIME. BRAKING DID NOT FULLY DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM. WHEN BRAKED TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT AND HAD TO TURN SYSTEM OFF TO HALT ITS OPERATION. WORKS FINE AT TIMES THEN UNEXPECTEDLY DOES IT AGAIN. MAY BE CONNECTED TO OPERATION IN ELEVATION CHANGES.

(It buckles into the buckle fine) 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? ANSWER: I cannot have my children or anyone else ride in the back middle seat due to it not locking. If we were in a wreck, the seat belt would not lock. I also cannot put a car seat in the middle. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? ANSWER: I can go get it checked out by a dodge dealer. However, I have read that other people have the same issue. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? ANSWER: The vehicle was repaired after I was hit back in June 2024. I do not believe the seat belt itself was inspected. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? ANSWER: No, there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms. I noticed it when I was switching my carseat around. I feel this is a major safety issue and it needs to be reported and resolved.

I took it to dealership and they replaced my key battery since I told them i was also having problems lock and unlocking my car. I was told this should solve the problem. We have taken it to multiple mechanics and they believe it to be the voltage regulator chip that is faulty which is accusing the engine to stall. It has also lost the back up camera capabilities which is also another recall of the 2018 Dodge Journey.

I was driving in the vehicle to put gas in, all of the sudden, i heard something snap and felt something hit the back of my head really hard. I felt disoriented as I didn't know what had happened. When I stopped and look at the seat, I noticed that head rest had deployed suddenly without warning and hit the back of my head. There was no accident that should have caused the head rest deployment. I sat there disoriented and started getting a headache and my neck started getting stiff. It's been a week since it happened, if it doesn't go away , I will be seeing a doctor as the pain comes and goes.

When the safety feature deployed, it hit my child in the back of her head causing pain and injury. This safety feature deployed without warning or cause. I purchased a used Toyo tire (model Extensa A/S or 436) from a tire shop in Houston, TX on [XXX]. I was assured it was in good condition, but less than three weeks later, the tire showed severe sidewall cracks, dry rot, and bulging. I was stranded at 1 a.m. due to this failure, and when I inspected the tire myself, I found clear signs of structural damage that should have been caught before the sale. I tried to bring this to the attention of the shop. Instead of a resolution, I was spoken to disrespectfully and hung up on. The owner admitted to giving me a discount because of showing up late to fix the tire, though I never asked for one I simply wanted a safe, working tire. A used tire should still last 1 to 3 years, and this one didn’t last three weeks. This presents a serious road hazard, and I believe this business is knowingly selling unsafe used tires. At first,unknown, All problems are in the Tailgate,of which you cant see while driving. Tailgates are designed to be used. First ,the backup camera went out, then the third brake light went, and you can ONLY SEE when backing up to a Large picture window-also,parking light R/S in tailgate is out. NOW, I asked my granddaughter to open the tailgate when the car is LOCKED, and it OPENS- (Security) I then looked up on YOUTUBE, and found many on how to fix due to BAD WIRING at the hinge. A service repair ticket dated 11/21/24 from Bill Volz in westchester,NY noted immediate attention but did not see the rest items in need of correction. The headlights in the "auto" position will turn on the headlights and then after 5 or so minutes of driving, the interior dash board will dim and brighten, and then the headlights turn off entirely. If you move them off the "auto" position, the headlights will not turn on even when switched to the headlights. When you switch back to auto, it puts the brights on instead of the standard headlights. Rinse and repeat while driving, lights on/off/then only brights.

Their answer was that it was a known issue but there was no effort to fix the problem because it was not listed as a recall issue. There was no warning light or electronic notices, only noticing the issue on the dash screen when the “reverse” was engaged. It is unable in its current condition to provide an adequate level of safety when backing up. The colored lines indicating the vehicles part while backing up is clear but all surrounding objects are blurry.

At Approximately 77,700 miles my Backup Camera is starting to fail intermittently. when I go to start the car and put it in reverse the screen will just show black and some static bars might show up and later on when I go to reverse again it usually works then but now sometimes it may not, yet my vehicle is not covered under the 2 separate recalls affecting the backup camera though I also have not had time to contact my local dealer about it giving its difficult nature to reproduce the issue..

Rear wheel bearing is bad after only 35,000 miles causing the speed sensor to fail which causes the cruise control to fail. The wheel bearing has also caused extreme wear on the tread of my brand new tires, and the ABS and stability/traction lights to come on in the dash display. I have researched this problem extensively and found that many Dodge Journey owners have experienced the same issues.

Stopped the vehicle and you could see the whole car shaking from the motor running so rough. Fueled up kept going and it kept doing it. It also caused me to back into my other car due to it glitching in the process of me backing up by causing me to lose visibility in a split second. Rear back up camera in the rear view mirror is not functioning correctly. It will go black but illuminate a camera with a line through it. Makes in impossible to use to back up because the light on the mirror makes it extremely difficult to see in the mirror and the camera isn’t working to help either. One day it worked and the following day it didn’t. Also, the passenger airbag light will go in and off even with someone occupying the seat which leads me to believe the airbag will not deploy if if in an accident. the computer has been run and it showed no issues. I know there was a recall to the back up cameras but it says my vehicle wasn’t affected. How do I get this fixed. Both are major safety concerns. This car has 60k miles on it and has been through 3 sets of tires. The tires wear extremely fast on this vehicle and they are 50-60k tires.

When turning on vehicle the lightning stalls to come on properly. The dash board and radio is completely off even when vehicle has started. Speedometer does not have an accurate reading of how many miles per hour I'm truly going in which I don't feel safe due to the fact that I'm more likely to get pulled over for speeding or not driving fast enough while on the road. No one has inspected the vehicle to confirm other than myself and husband who drive the vehicle. I could be doing 20 miles a hour but the speedometer would say I'm going 45 miles a hour. I was resting at a complete stop and the speedometer stated that I was going 3 miles at a complete stop. There was no indicator flashing light or any message on the vehicle that was indicate there was a issue with the vehicle. The speedometer has been like this since April of 2022. The lighting also but it does it sporadically from time to time.

AT THE STOPLIGHT MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND PUTTERING. `WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS TO GO THE CAR PUTTERED LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO GO, BUT THEN DID. SO I DROVE TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP ON THE NEXT EXIT. MY CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF IN THE ENTRANCE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE MECHANIC REPORTED THAT A FUEL INJECTOR HAD EXPLODED AND WAS SPEWING RAW GAS. MY CAR IS NOW IN THE SHOP AWAITING PARTS. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THAT IT EASILY SLIPS INT REVERSE WHILE DRIVING. SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS!

WHEN TO USE SECOND ROW CENTER SEATBELT FOR CHILD RESTRAINT ON CAR SEAT. NOTICED THE MECHANICAL LOCK FROM EXTENSION OF THE BELT DID NOT LOCK AND IF WERE TO GET IN WRECK WOULD NOT FUNCTION AS THE SAFETY DEVICE SHOULD. DID A QUESTIONING OF OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLE OWNERS AND ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.THIS IS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SITTING STILL. SECOND PROBLEM IS MOTOR MOUNTS WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED ON ANY INCLINE SURFACE EVEN SLIGHT INCLINE OF JERKING VIOLENTLY FROM PARK TO ANY GEAR AND BACK TO PARK. MANY OTHER INDIVIDUALS ALSO QUESTIONED HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES AND NEGATIVE FIXES OR RESOLUTIONS FROM DEALERSHIPS REPAIR PERSONNEL. THIS IS FROM PARK TO MOTION AND VICE VERSA.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION POWER AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND THE FAILURE WENT AWAY. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I WENT TO DEALERSHIP I KNEW I WANT A TRUCK WITH 3RD ROW, I TEST DROVE THE JOURNEY I PICKED OUT OF WHAT WAS OFFERED WHEN I TEST DROVE THE FIRST TRUCK, IT REFUSED TO SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR SO WE WENT BACK AND DROVE THE ONE I PURCHASED. WELL I GOT IT HOME AND DROVE FOR A FEW DAYS AND NOTICED WHEN I WOULD TAKE IT OUT OF PARK IT WOULD ,AKE A LOUD THUMP NOISE ONLY SOMETIMES LIKE I AM SITTING ON A HILL. I TOOK IT BACK THEY HEARD THE NOISE SAID THEY COULD FIX IT BUT SERVICE SAID THAT WAS NORMAL, WHICH I STRONGLY DISAGREED BUT MY DEAL WAS FUNDED AND NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. SO ANOTHER MONTH OR SO LATER I NOTICE MY GAS TO EMPTY WAS JUMPING DRASTICALLY I FIGURED BAD GAS SO I DROVE IT OUT AND TRIED AGAIN AND AGAIN. FINALLY HAD IT BECAUSE GOING FROM 60 TO 30 IN 2 MILES IS MAJOR THAT SAME WEEK I USED MY CRUISE CONTROL FOR MAYBE THE 3RD TIME SINCE I HAD THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT KEEP A STEADY SPEED I WENT UP 5 MPH FASTER THAN I SET IT AND THEN DROPPED IT DID THIS UNTIL I CANCELLED THE CRUISE. I IMMEDIATELY MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER THEY HAVE HAD IT A WEEK AND NO WORD FROM THEM YET. MEANWHILE I HAVE RESEARCHED AND SEE THE SAME ISSUES I AM HAVING LEAD TO MORE ISSUES LIKE THE BRAKES NOT STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND I TRAVEL 100 MILES BACK AND FORTH TO WORK AND HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT IS A VERY UNEASY FEELING. THE OTHER ISSUES LIKE THE RADIO FREEZING INBETWEEN CHANGING FROM BLUE-TOOTH TO RADIO SO I HAVE TO DRIVE THAT ENTIRE HOUR TRIP TO WORK WITHOUT ANY MUSIC UNLESS I STOP AND RESTART THE CAR. ALSO WHEN I GET OFF THE HIGHWAY A LOT OF TIMES THE SENSOR FOR THE SPEED AND RADIO FINALLY KICKS IN AND THE RADIO PLAYS EXTREMELY LOUD LIKE I AM STILL ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE ENTIRE RIDE THE RADIO WOULD NOT TURN UP PASS THE LOW VOLUME.

THE CAR KEPT LOSING POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND NO ENGINE LIGHTS WERE POPPING UP TO SHOW THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST 2 TIMES WERE IN REVERSE. THE POWER CUT OFF AND I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL OR BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND GO. THE THIRD TIME I WAS GOING FORWARD ON A HIGHWAY. I SLOWED TO TURN ON AND THE POWER CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TURN. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL OR BRAKES. LUCKILY I WAS NOT AROUND OTHER VEHICLES AND THE CAR SLOWED TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN GRASS. THIS OCCURRED WITH A YOUNG CHILD IN THE CAR AND IT SCARED BOTH OF US. I WAS ABLE TO THEN START THE CAR AGAIN AND GET IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE NEXT DAY. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THEIR MACHINES. THEY DROVE THE CAR FOR A WEEK AND WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE LAST DAY WHEN THEY TOOK IT FOR ONE MORE DRIVE THE CAR DIED ON THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. THEY HOOKED THE CAR UP AGAIN AND IT SHOWED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. WHEN THEY CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORPORATION THEY TOLD THEM TO LOOK AT THE ENGINE. THAT IS WHEN THEY FOUND METAL SHARDS AND OTHER THINGS WRONG WITH THE ENGINE. THE CORPORATION HAD KNOWN THAT SOME OF THESE ENGINES WERE FAULTY BUT HAD NOT NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP OR THE CONSUMERS THAT THEY COULD BE DRIVING A CAR WITH A FAULTY ENGINE. THIS WAS MOST DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND ESPECIALLY CONCERNING SINCE WE HAD BEEN DRIVING OUR YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE WITH US. I BELIEVE THE CONSUMERS SHOULD KNOW THAT THEY COULD HAVE FAULTY ENGINES AND NOT KNOW BECAUSE THE SERVICE MACHINES DO NOT DETECT THE PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER IS NOT GIVING OUT THE INFORMATION.

MY CAR STARTED OFF WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON AND THEN SOON AFTER, AS I SLOWED DOWN AND TURNED, MY ENGINE SHUT OFF, I LOST ALL POWER STEERING, AND THE BATTERY REMAINED ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE MANY TIMES AND IS COMPLETELY RANDOM. (DOESN'T MATTER IF I JUST STARTED THE CAR, I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR 20 MINUTES, WARM WEATHER / COLD WEATHER, IT JUST HAPPENS WHEN IT HAPPENS.) MORE RECENTLY, THE TCS (TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM) WILL TURN ON RANDOMLY. (I HAVE FOOTAGE OF THE ROAD BEING 100% CLEAR WHILE THIS IS ON IN MY CAR.) IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF ONCE IT TURNS ON. IT MAKES IT SO I CAN'T SPEED UP HARDLY AT ALL WHICH OF COURSE HASN'T HAD THE BEST OUTCOMES ON THE HIGHWAY. AND ALONG WITH THAT, IF I'M DRIVING AND TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS, THE SPUTTERS QUICKLY FOR A MOMENT AND JERKS THE CAR DOWN AS IF THE BRAKES LOCK FOR A MOMENT. LASTLY, THE CAR RECENTLY MADE CLICKING NOISES AND I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE GAS FILLING UP. (IT SAYS IT'S FULL WHEN IT'S CLEARLY NOT) I'VE TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN BEFORE AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I HAD TO CANCEL A RECENT APPOINTMENT DUE TO THE FLOODING IN IOWA BUT I'M AFRAID THERE IS SOMETHING FAR WORSE THAT THEY WONT BE ABLE TO FIX, LIKE LAST TIME. I'M SURE THIS IS A GREAT VEHICLE, BUT I GOT A LEMON FOR SURE. THERE'S CURRENTLY 8,155 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND I BOUGHT IT NEW AS OF 10/01/2018. CLEARLY SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN MY BRAND NEW DODGE JOURNEY THAT WAS PURCHASED LESS THAN 2 WEEKS AGO, ALL THE VEHICLES CAME TO A STOP AND WERE STATIONARY. MY CAR INCLUDED WAS STATIONARY OR STOPPED. ON 6/4/2018 I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AFTER TAKING IT IN FOR THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS BEING ON AND LOSS OF POWER. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THEY DID AN UPDATE ON THE POWER CONTROL MODEL AND FIXED A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY ABOUT 9 MILES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE LIGHTS (ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL) CAME BACK ON AND THE RPMS WENT UP. THE VEHICLE WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE HAD A 5MPH LOSS IN SPEED BUT WENT BACK UP TO 65MPH WITH THE RAISE IN RPMS. WHILE GOING TO EXIT THE FREEWAY AND APPLYING THE BRAKES THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. I IMMEDIATELY PLACED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT HAND SHOULDE ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO COAST TO A STOP.. AFTER PULLED OVER I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK AND I ADVISED I WOULD BRING IT BACK IN THE MORNING AND WOULD NOT USE THE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME THE VEHICLE WILL BE GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUES WHICH INCLUDE THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS BEING ILLUMINATED WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS NOT WORKING, LOSS OF POWER AND HIGH RPMS AND BLUETOOTH NOT WORKING (NOT A MAJOR CONCERN). THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS FAILED TO DISENGAGE AND ONLY MY FOURTH TIME USING CRUISE CONTROL AS IT IS A NEW VEHICLE AND I DON'T USE IT MUCH ON THE FREEWAY.
