I have attempted to contact my local dealership several times to replace the airbags on this recall. They claimed months ago, stated “It’s on back order” and took my info claiming they’d contact me when the parts are in. They never contacted me. I keep attempting to make appointments with Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of Tri-Cities 7171 W. Canal Dr, Kennewick WA Recalls aren’t handled by a live person, just an automated message stating “we’ll get back to you soon” They don’t. I’ve been trying to get this replaced for a year. I would lien someone to contact Dodge or this dealership and ask them to stop hiding from mandatory recalls.

The contact's wife owns a 2005 Dodge Magnum. The contact stated that his wife had received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V352000 (Air Bags). His wife had taken the vehicle to the dealer to have the recall serviced; however, upon return of the vehicle, the passenger’s side air bag off warning light illuminated. His wife took the vehicle back to the dealer where she was informed that she had to pay a diagnostic fee for an inspection. The contact then notified the manufacturer and he was informed that if the diagnostic determined that the dealer was at fault for the failure, he would be reimbursed. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

ON AROUND NOVEMBER LATE OR BEGINNING DECEMBER OF 2020 I COME OUT OF THE STORE AND MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG HAD DEPLOYED. AT THIS TIME BEING UNABLE TO DRIVE I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC SHOP TO SEE WHAT COULD BE DONE TO MAKE DRIVEABLE. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IT WAS A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG AND I SHOULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT HE FIXED IN ORDER TO MAKE DRIVEABLE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACE THE (FIXED) THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT DIDNT DO THE DRIVER SIDE BECAUSE THEY SAID IS WAS FOR THE DEFLATER AND NOT FOR THE BAG ITSELF SO THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT. SO THEY WANT ME TO PAY MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT TO ME IS A MANUFACTURER DEFAULT. I THINK IT IS UNFAIR FOR ME TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS REPAIR.

NOTICED WITH CERTAIN SPEEDS AND RPM RANGES, TRANSMISSION (42RLE) WILL HAVE VERY HARD UPSHIFT (FEELS ALMOST LIKE I'M BEING REAR ENDED) AND LACK POWER COMPARED TO OTHER TIMES. AS DISCUSSED IN A FORUM, OTHERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH AND/OR THE PCM PROGRAMMING THAT MAKES THE TRANSMISSION BEHAVE IN THIS WAY. I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLE AND PERFORM REGULAR MAINTENANCE. EVEN AFTER TRANSMISSION FLUSHES, PROBLEM IS STILL PRESENT.

THE SHIFT LEVER WILL NOT MOVE FRONT PARK. I HAVE TO LEAVE MY VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL, AND APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE. I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL, I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE DEALT WITH THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS. I HOPE YOU CAN ASSIST ME IN GETTING THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED.. THE DATE THAT I PUT IN WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED IS ESTIMATED. IT'S BEEN SO LONG I DON'T REMEMBER WHEN IT STARTED.

I have an 05 Dodge Magnum RT 5.7L Hemi, that intermittently stalls after filling the gas tank, and continues to do this until gas goes down a little. After dealing with/living with this problem for a while, I finally took my car to a shop and told them what was happening. They told me I needed to replace the right fuel pump module, which I did. This was 02/19/2016, at a cost of $287.94. The car had78,728 miles on the vehicle at this time. This did not fix the problem. I told the shop this, and I was told they couldn't find any other problem. After which I learned to live with it by not filling the tank up all they way. Recently I was not paying close enough attention when putting gas in, because I was washing my windshield. The car filled up until the pump clicked off. Upon leaving the gas station in morning rush hour traffic, my car immediately stalled. I was nearly rear ended. it took about 10 to 15 seconds to restart it. I was able to make the next green light to merge onto freeway, so I didn't need to slow down. (I should mention that the stalls only occur at slow speeds and stops, after the car has been filled with gas.) I had to slow way down to merge, and my car again stalled. I finally go it to start again only to have this happen 6 more times in stop and go traffic in 1 mile! Even though I was able to get to the right shoulder of the freeway until I could turn off, I caused major traffic delays. After telling a a co-worker about this, he told me he has the exact same car, which had the exact same problem. He then informed me there was an lifetime warranty to fix this problem, and his was fixed under this warranty a couple of months ago. I have found information regarding this warranty on-line, but nothing comes up when I enter my vin, even though it is the exact same year, make, and model of all the other cars that were fixed. I keep my car in top shape. It has no other issues than this...and I have been dealing with it since 2015!

The malfunction to report is after fueling the vehicle will stall out. There is the sign of the fuel sending unit and fuel pump cycling after the ignition is turned on. This only occurs after topping off the fuel. The safety of operation is the stalling may occur while driving as well as at sitting still. When driving and the vehicles stalls causes the steering wheel to stiffen and the must come to a complete stop, placed in park, turn off the ignition and wait for the possible reset. The problem has not been reviewed on my particular vehicle but has been reported by other 2005 Magnum owners. No other manufacturing process has inspected my vehicle. And there are no warning lights that come to indicate there is a problem.

Vehicle has stalled 3 times in past year and won't start back up. I have mechanic fix fuel pump and other related parts to fuel. It is very unsafe. The car just stalls driving and wants to start but dies on me.

I AM EXPERIENCING AN ENGINE STALL AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK. I HAVE STALLED AFTER JUST LEAVING THE GAS STATION ON MAIN ROADS AND EVEN THE HIGHWAY WHEN TRAFFIC IS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 65+. THERE HAVE BEEN NO ACCIDENTS TO REPORT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT SO I DONT HAVE RECORD OF THAT. I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER BEFORE TO ASK ABOUT THE RECALL BUT THEY ONLY SAID IT WAS NOT ON THE LIST AND I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL BACK. I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN FOR INSPECTION. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR AT LEAST A FEW YEARS (I DONT HAVE AN EXACT TIME FRAME) BUT ONLY THIS LAST YEAR DID THE ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. I HAD THE CODE CHECKED WHILE THE LIGHT WAS ON AND IT WAS NOT FOR THE AFOREMENTIONED ISSUE, SO I DONT THINK MY VEHICLE IS REGISTERING THE STALLING.

FROM APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 2008 THROUGH AUGUST 2013, VEHICLE WOULD STALL AT LOW SPEEDS AFTER FILLING FUEL TANK. REPLACED FUEL TANK IN AUGUST 2013, WHICH CORRECTED THE ISSUE. I HAVE A 2005 DODGE MAGNUM AND I WENT INTO THE CLEANERS TO DROP MY CLOTHES OFF. I WENT IN THE CLEANERS AND CAME OUT AND ATTEMPTED TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULDN'T START. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE SHOP AND THE MECHANIC STATED IT WAS MY ENGINE WAS OUT. I THINK ITS THE TIMING CHAIN. I SEEN RECALLS FOR MY ENGINE BUT THEY STATE ITS FOR THE NEWER VERSION OF THE HEMI BUT I THINK ITS ALL THE SAME RECALL. I GET MY CAR MAINTENANCE AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVEN'T HAD ANY ENGINE PROBLEMS, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS , LOSS AF POWER. THERE WERE LITERALLY NO SIGNS. I HAD GOT MY OIL CHANGED AT THE DEALERSHIP WITHIN A MONTH OF THE INCIDENT.

I HAVE A 2005 DODGE MAGNUM SXT. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 164,000. MILES ON THE CAR. FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS I HAVE EXPERIENCED STARTING PROBLEMS. WHEN I TURN THE KEY TO START THE CAR NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. BY ACCIDENT I PRESSED THE LOCK/ALARM SET ON MY KEY WHILE SITTING IN THE CAR. SO I UNLOCKED THE CAR (STILL SITTING IN IT) AND TRIED TO RE-START THE CAR, AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS AT LEAST 4 TIMES NOW WITH MORE FREQUENCY AND DID THE SAME THING TO START THE CAR. IT HAS WORKED EVERY TIME, BUT THIS IS NOT SOMETHING I WANT TO RELY ON.

RIGHT FRONT BALL JOINT FELL OFF THE CAR AS I WAS ABOUT TO CHANGE THE TIRE. MY NEIGHBOR WITNESSED THE EVENT. HE SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH A THING IN 40+ YEARS. I HAD TO RENT A PRESS TO REATTACH. IN MARCH 2011, WE BEGAN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SUDDENLY SHUTTING OFF AND/OR LOSING POWER; ENGINE STALLING AND SPUTTERING; AND THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINING ILLUMINATED. WE PERFORMED THE NECESSARY MAINTENANCE -- OIL CHANGES, ETC. ON THE RECOMMENDED SCHEDULE. THE SUDDEN ENGINE CUTOFFS AND POWER LOSSES INCREASED; AND THEN ON SUNDAY, MAY 29, 2011, WE STARTED THE CAR AND THE ENGINE WAS MAKING VERY LOUD BANGING AND KNOCKING NOISES. OUR 2005 DODGE MAGNUM FREQUENTLY STALLS WHEN MOVING AT SLOW SPEEDS. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS OVER A YEAR AGO, AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY, 10-15 MINUTES DRIVING AT AROUND 60, PROCEEDING APROX 2 MILES TO A STOPLIGHT WHICH WENT FROM RED TO GREEN, WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE CAR STALLED. When vehicle has been filled up with gas it will intermittently die until it has around 50 miles on it. Usually sputters and dies without warning leaving you with no steering or brakes. Will restart but die until some fuel is ran out. I have scheduled to have the gas tank replaced but the fee is around $150

CAR ENGINE QUITS RUNNING AFTER STARTUP FOLLOWING REFUELING, AND SEVERAL TIMES THEREAFTER, REQUIRING THAT THE ENGINE BE RESTARTED EACH TIME. IT OCCURS AFTER EACH REFUELING. ALL OPERATIONAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IS LOST WHEN THE ENGINE QUITS. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A GREAT SAFETY HAZARD.

WHEN THE GAS TANK IS FILLED, THE MOTOR CUTS OUT AND STALLS WHEN DRIVING, I HAVE TO KEEP THE TANK AT HALF WAY TO AVOID THIS. I HAD A STARTER FAILURE ON MY CAR, AND WAS REPLACING STARTER MYSELF, SINCE I DO MOST OF MY REPAIRS, & TO REMOVE STARTER, THE STEERING SHAFT HAS TO REMOVED FOR CLEARANCE. AFTER TAKING THE STEERING SHAFT FROM THE STEERING BOX AND EXAMINING IT, I FOUND RUSTED OUT SECTION ON THE COLLAPSING JOINT OF THE SHAAFT. IT IS COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT HALF THE DIAMETER OF THE SHAFT. I WENT AUTO SALVAGE YARD & PUT ANOTHER SHAFT ON CAR. I LIVE IN PA, PADOT USES LIQUID DEICING SPRAY ON HIGHWAYS & IT HAS PENETRATED THIS PART. IF IT HAD GONE MUCH LONGER, IT WOULD HAVE BROKEN COMPLETELY OFF, WITH LOSS OF STEERING AND POSSIBLY CRASH. THIS ONLY HAS 60,000+ MILES. THE SERVICE DEALER NOTICED THE TIE RODS HAD GONE BAD AND ADVISED HAVING THEM REPLACED AND CONTACTING DAIMLER CHRYSLER. THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE AND THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST. NO FURTHER REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNDER 44,000. MY 2005 DODGE MAGNUM R/T BURNED THROUGH THE UNIBODY FRAME RAILS DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. THIS CAUSED THE FRAME TO DEVELOP RUST PERFORATIONS. DAMAGE IS THE SAME ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CAR, CONCENTRATED WHERE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS MEET THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. THIS IS A DIFFICULT AREA TO SEE, LET ALONE INSPECT DUE TO TIGHT CONFINES AND HEAT FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. IT WAS FOUND WHILE CHANGING THE OIL DIPSTICK TUBE. THE REST OF THE CAR IS EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN AND HAS NEVER BEEN UNDERCOATED, IN AN ACCIDENT OR WINTER DRIVEN. NUMEROUS TECHNICIANS LOOKED AT THE PROBLEM AT CHRYSLER AND INDEPENDENT GARAGES. ALL OF THEM AGREED THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY HEAT FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS BURNING AWAY THE FACTORY RUST PROTECTION AND THEN ACCELERATING RUSTING OF THIS STRUCTURAL AREA. THE CHRYSLER DEALER BODYSHOP QUOTED OVER $8000 TO REPLACE THE ROTTED FRAME RAILS, MOSTLY LABOR BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, EXHAUST, FRONT SUBFRAME AND MUCH OF THE INTERIOR. THE CHRYSLER DEALER SERVICE MANAGER SENT IN A REPORT TO HIS DISTRICT SERVICE REP. I ALSO FILED A REPORT WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE, CASE FILE NUMBER 25844173. THEY INFORMED ME THAT SINCE THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CHRONIC WITH MAGNUMS AND THE CAR WAS PAST ITS 3-YEAR RUST PERFORATION WARRANTY THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE CAR OR HELP WITH REPAIR COSTS. THIS IS A MAJOR STRUCTURAL DEFECT WITH THE FRAME OF THE CAR, NOT A MERE RUST HOLE IN A BODY PANEL! I SUSPECT THE PROBLEM MAY BE FOUND IN OTHER CHRYSLER LX-BODY MODELS OF 2005 MODEL YEAR. OUT OF CONCERN FOR THE SAFETY OF THESE VEHICLES I WALKED AROUND A LOCAL JUNKYARD AND FOUND A 2005 MODEL CHRYSLER 300 STARTING TO SHOW CORROSION PROBLEMS IN THE SAME FRAME AREAS ADJACENT TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. TOOK VEHICLE TO REPUTABLE, NATIONAL COMPANY FOR A COURTESY ROAD TEST. THEY CONFIRMED VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT. RETURNED TO DEALER A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER WITH THE COMPLAINT THAT THE VEHICLE STILL PULLING TO RIGHT. MANAGEMENT IS CONTACTING THE "DODGE TECHNICIANS" TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD BY THIS DEALER THAT THEY HAD EXPERIENCED SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH ANOTHER 05 MAGNUM, THAT THEY WERE TOLD BY THE "DODGE TECHNICIANS" THAT THE VEHICLES ARE WITHIN SPECS AND WITHIN TOLERANCES." WITHIN TOLERANCES OF WHAT? I KNOW THAT IF I LET GO OF THE WHEEL, OR DO NOT APPLY CONSTANT PRESSURE TO THE LEFT, THIS VEHICLE WILL RUN OFF THE ROAD! I WAS STOPPED BEHIND TRAFFIC AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I GAVE THE VEHICLE SOME GAS. I STOPPED THE CAR IMMEDIATELY APPLYING ALL BRAKES. I LOOKED BEHIND THE PEDAL AND IT APPEARED THE PLASTIC MOLDING ATTACHMENT HAD BROKEN OFF SHOWING A SHARED PIECE OF PLASTIC WHERE IT HAD BROKEN. THE FRONT TIRES ARE CUPPING EVERY 3,000 MILES. DEALER HAS CHECKED ALIGNMENT, ROTATED THE TIRES AND REPLACED THEM FOR FREE 4 TIMES WITH 2 DIFFERENT BRANDS OF TIRES. I NOW HAVE 30,000 MILES AND THE TIRES ARE WORN OUT AGAIN AND THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT IS JUST THE WAY IT IS AND TO STOP COMING TO THEM TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IT HAS BEEN QUITE RAINY WHERE I LIVE AND I FEEL THAT THE TIRE DAMAGE IS NOW PUTTING ME AT RISK. THE ABILITY OF THE TIRES TO PERFORM IN RAIN SOAKED ROADS HAS DIMINISHED SIGNIFICANTLY BECAUSE OF THE UNUSUAL WEARING AND I FEEL THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN ANY INCLEMENT WEATHER. ORIGINAL OWNER OF 2005 DODGE MAGNUM R/T 5.7L. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME SINCE PURCHASE OF THE CAR THAT I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE LUG NUTS ON ALL 4 TIRES. THIS IS THE 2ND COMPLAINT FILED. I FILED A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT IN 2014. LUG NUTS SHOULD NOT BE DESIGNED WITH FANCY CHROME THAT SPINS ROUND AND ROUND AND REQUIRES SPECIAL SOCKET TO REMOVE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. ON MARCH 19, 2014, WHILE CLEANING MY 2005 DODGE MAGNUM, I NOTICED A SMALL AIR LEAK ON THE LEFT REAR TIRE. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I DISCOVERED A NAIL IN THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. I DROVE THE CAR DOWN THE ROAD TO THE TIRE CENTER TO HAVE THE TIRE REPLACED. THE REPLACEMENT FOR THE TIRE WAS COVERED BY THE ROADSIDE HAZARD COVERAGE. I FIGURED I WOULD KILL TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE AND ALSO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED AND THE ALIGNMENT CHECKED. WHEN I GOT TO THE TIRE CENTER, THEY SAID THEY COULD REPLACE THE TIRE BUT IT WOULD HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE NEXT MORNING BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE TIRE IN STOCK. THE NEXT MORNING THE TIRE CENTER CALLED AND SAID THEY COULD NOT GET ANY OF THE TIRES OFF BECAUSE 13 OF THE 20 LUG NUTS CHROME DECORATING WAS JUST SPINNING AROUND THE LUG NUT AND WOULD HAVE TO BE CUT AND REQUIRE REPLACEMENT LUG NUTS. I TOLD THE TIRE CENTER THIS COULD NOT BE HAPPENING AGAIN. THE LUG NUTS HAD BEEN REPLACED PRIOR BY THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE VERY SAME ISSUE. THE TIRE CENTER INFORMED ME THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION TO THE CHRYSLER (DODGE) OEM LUG NUTS. I ALSO DISCOVERED DURING A GOOGLE SEARCH THAT THERE ARE OVER 200,000 DODGE CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS VERY SAME ISSUE. THE COST FOR CUTTING OFF THE LUG NUTS AND REPLACEMENT WAS $300. THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID FOR LUG NUT REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT SINCE PURCHASING THE DODGE MAGNUM IN 2005 IS OVER $600. FORTUNATELY FOR ME, I WAS NOT ON TRAVEL. IF SO, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PUT ON THE SPARE AND WOULD HAVE HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. REQUEST NHTSA INVESTIGATE WHY CHRYSLER (DODGE) AND ITS SUPPLIERS CONTINUE TO USE FAULTY, POOR ENGINEERED, LUG NUTS ON ITS AUTOMOBILES. REQUEST CHRYSLER AND ITS SUPPLIERS BE DIRECTED TO RECALL AND REIMBURSE ITS DODGE CUSTOMERS FOR THE FAULTY LUG NUT. THE LUG NUTS REMOVED ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE INVESTIGATION. DODGE HAS BEEN CONTACTED. WITH MY FULL ATTENTION ON THE CARGO BEING REMOVED FROM VEHICLE, THE REAR LIFTGATE STRUTS FAILED SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING LIFTGATE TO FALL ON MY HEAD AND NECK. THE LIFTGATE IS APPROXIMATELY 125 POUNDS AND LEVERAGED TO ACCELERATE DURING CLOSING. THE LIFTGATE STRUTS ARE INSUFFICIENTLY SIZED FOR THE APPLICATION AND NO FAIL SAFE EXISTS TO PREVENT FREE FALL. THE LATCH MECHANISM STRUCK ME DIRECTLY ON THE SPINE AT THE BASE OF THE SKULL CAUSING TEMPORARY UNCONSCIOUSNESS. THIS COULD EASILY BE A FATAL IMPACT, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNG CHILDREN, INFANTS OR THE ELDERLY. REPLACEMENT STRUTS ARE EXPENSIVE AND WILL SIMPLY FAIL AGAIN. AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK WITH REGULAR 87 OCTANE AND TRAVELING LESS THAN A MILE THE VEHICLE STALLED. I WOULD RESTART THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD STALL AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL ABOUT 10-15 MILES IT WOULD SUBSIDE. I REALIZED AFTER SEVERAL FILL UPS THERE MUST BE A CORRELATION SO I TOOK MY 2005 V8 MAGNUM INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IT WOULD COST BETWEEN 1,500 TO 2 GRAND TO EVALUATE AND FIX THE PROBLEM WHICH THEY THOUGHT HAD TO DO WITH THE FUEL TANK. SINCE I COULD NOT AFFORD THE REPAIR COST THE ONLY REMEDY WAS TO STOP SHORT OF FILLING UP THE TANK. NO STALLS OCCURRED IF I WOULD FILL UP THE TANK 3/4. THIS WENT ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS UNTIL ONE DAY I WAS DISTRACTED AND FILLED THE TANK UP 100%. IT DID NOT STALL AT LOW SPEEDS BUT WHEN I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY STALLED AT 55 LEAVING ME IN AN UNSAFE SITUATION (NOT HAVING CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL). THE CAR STARTED NORMALLY AFTER SITTING IN A PARKING LOT FOR 30 MINUTES. WHEN THE CAR WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, THE CAR LURCHED BACKWARDS AND BEGAN ACCELERATING ON IT'S OWN. I QUICKLY APPLIED THE BRAKES AND STOPPED THE CAR AND PUT IT IN NEUTRAL BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE FROM IDLE TO 3000RPM. I REPEATEDLY TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AND THE SAME ISSUE AROSE. FINALLY THE CAR SETTLED DOWN AND I WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE THROTTLE BODY WAS BAD AND I REPLACED IT. SAME ISSUE REAPPEARED AND I WAS THEN TOLD IT NEEDED TO BE INITIALIZED TO THE NEW THROTTLE BODY. THE DAY AFTER HAVING THE WORK DONE AT THE DEALER THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN IN TRAFFIC. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE PCM'S IN THIS PARTICULAR CAR. CHRYSLER VEHICLES, DODGE MAGNUM, DODGE CHARGER AND CHRYSLER 300 HAVE AN ISSUE THAT CAUSES THE SHIFTER TO GET STUCK IN PARK, AND WILL NOT SHIFT. THIS LEAVES MANY DRIVERS STRANDED CAUSES THEM TO NEED TOWING ASSISTANCE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE MOVED. I WAS STUCK AND NEEDED A TOW AND THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER INFORMED ME THAT MINE WAS THE SIXTH ONE HE HAD DONE THAT DAY. MY INSURANCE COMPANY INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CHRYSLER VEHICLES. THE ISSUE HAPPENS TO MANY VEHICLES MOST OF WHICH WERE NOT COVERED UNDER CHRYSLERS K39 RECALL. CHRYSLER DID SOME MANEUVERING TO GET OUT OF COVERING ALL THE CARS AFFECTED WITH THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE IS FOR A FAULTY PART IN THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY OF CARS FROM 2005-2007. THEY GOT OUT OF COVERING ALL OF THE CARS BY NARROWING THE RECALL TO SPECIFIC VEHICLES MADE IN A SPECIFIC LOCATION INSTEAD OF COVERING ALL VEHICLES WITH THE FAULTY PART. KIND OF LIKE COMMITTING FRAUD. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO THAT IN THE RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND BATTERY FOR HER YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL; HOWEVER, HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. SHE STATED THAT HER VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR THREE WEEKS AS OF DECEMBER 4, 2007. NO REMEDY HAS YET BEEN FOUND FOR HER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT ASSIST BECAUSE HER VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. The vehicle stalled during normal use traveling about 35 miles an hour right after an intersection. MY husband was able to safely make it off the road as we live in a small town he did this by feathering the accelerator pedal. He is a mechanic so he was able to get it home by lightly tapping the pedal. If he pressed the pedal too hard the car stalled without warning so he lightly tapped on it and made it 2 blocks to our home where it has set in the driveway ever since. We spent over $1000 replacing parts such as the throttle body and the fuel pump and sending unit, egr, pcv, crankshaft sensor, plugs,injectors, intake seals, air intake temperature sensor and throttle body which include the throttle position sensor. Before we went for the cam sensor I decided to look up the issue and found so many with the same problem as us. We are veterans on a semi fixed income with a 10 month old daughter and this is our only vehicle we live in a super hot place in northern Arizona and can not afford further repairs as every part seems to be quite expensive. I don't have the fear of it dying while transporting my daughter again as it won't even stay started since the first incident. Additionally there are no codes or dash indicator lights staying on. We will be contacting Dodge in Kingman Arizona today.

AIR CONDITIONING/VENTILATION SYSTEM SHUT DOWN. EXTREME HEAT BEHIND THE AC CONTROL PANEL, DETERMINED BY TOUCH, AND AC SYSTEM SHUTDOWN AS WELL AS THE VENTILATION/FAN SYSTEM. TRIED TO CORRECT BY SHUTTING THE SYSTEM OFF, TRYING BOTH AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL SETTINGS, BUT DID NOT WORK. EVEN WITH THE AC OFF THE FAN/VENTILATION SYSTEM WOULD NOT WORK EITHER.ONLY AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF WOULD THE SYSTEM WORK AGAIN. IT MUST RESET AN OVERHEAT SENSOR SOMEPLACE. DEALER TOOK THE PANEL APART AND INSPECTED ALL WIRING AND FOUND NOTHING. STILL DOESN'T EXPLAIN THIS FAILURE OCCURRING TWICE IN 10 MONTHS.

I WAS DRIVING ALONG KINGS HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 35 MPH AND THE HOOD SUDDENLY FLEW UP. THE HOOD SLAMMED BACK DOWN AS I CAME TO A STOP THUS TRAPPING THE HOOD STRUTS OUTSIDE THE HOOD ON EITHER SIDE DAMAGING THE HOOD AND BOTH FENDERS. JULY 3 I CALLED THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER LANDERS DODGE AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THEM. I ALSO INQUIRED ABOUT TOWING AND THEY SAID THEY USE SMITHS TOWING. I CALLED SMITHS TOWING AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE HOOD WAS GOING TO FLY UP NO MATTER IF IT WAS ON A ROLLBACK OR NOT AND SUGGESTED THAT I SAVE THE WRECKER FEE AND DRIVE IT. I DROVE THE CAR FROM MY HOME TO FERN AVE WHICH IS ABOUT 3 MILES UPON DRIVING ON FERN AVE THE HOOD FLEW UP AGAIN CAUSING EVEN MORE DAMAGE. I AGAIN SECURED THE HOOD AND DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AT 10 MPH WITH MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON. 2005 DODGE MAGNUM [XXX], ORDERED 30 JUN 2004, ASSEMBLED 26-27 AUGUST 2004 IN BRAMPTON, ONTARIO; DELIVERED TO PURCHASER 17 SEP 2004. LIFTGATE FAILS TO OPEN DUE TO A FAILURE OF THE ELECTRONIC RELEASE. ONLY ALTERNATIVE METHOD TO RELEASE THE LIFTGATE LOCK IS TO CRAWL INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, REMOVE AN ACCESS PANEL OVER THE LOCKING MECHANISM AND RELEASE THE LOCK MANUALLY. I NOTIFIED DODGE VIA THEIR WEB SITE (20 SEP 2004) AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO MY DEALER TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN, IN 7 SUBSEQUENT EMAILS, THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT SO MUCH WITH THE FAILURE OF THE ELECTRONIC LOCKING MECHANISM, BUT WITH THE FACT THAT DODGE WOULD RELEASE FOR PUBLIC SALE A VEHICLE WITH SUCH A POORLY ENGINEERED BACKUP SYSTEM FOR ACCESSING THE REAR COMPARTMENT VIA THE LIFTGATE IN THE EVENT OF A LIFTGATE LATCH FAILURE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER SERVICE WRITER, THERE IS A FAILURE OF THE GROUND WIRE TO THE LATCH MECHANISM. THIS SOMETIMES RESULTS IN THE FAILURE OF THE RIGHT-REAR PASSENGER DOOR TO OPEN AS WELL, ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THIS PART OF THE PROBLEM. THE CAR, AFTER FILLING WITH GAS, SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MAIN ROAD. I HAD TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, RESTART IT, PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, WAIT 2 SECONDS OR SO FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO RE-ENGAGE, AND THEN I COULD MOVE AGAIN. A TRUCK SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR AFTER IT CAME TO IT'S JERKY STOP AND THE ONCOMING TRUCK DIDN'T REALIZE A PERSON WOULD BE STOPPED IN FRONT OF HIM WHERE THERE WAS NO LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I FOUND OUT LATER, FROM A CAR FORUM, THAT THE 5.7 LITER DODGES HAVE A RASH OF ISSUES WHERE THE CHECK VALVE THAT IS PART OF THE FUEL TANK FAILS AND CAUSES THE EMISSION SYSTEM TO GET WET AND THE COMPUTER GETS CONFUSED SIGNALS CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL (SHORTLY AFTER FILLING THE TANK). I FOUND OUT THAT IT WOULD COST AT LEAST $1000 TO CHANGE THE ENTIRE GAS TANK AS THE ONLY FIX TO THE PROBLEM. I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE ISN'T A RECALL FOR THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. I HAVE CONTACTED DODGE AFTER MY MAGNUM NEARLY KILLED ME (LITERALLY). THEY TOLD ME TO 'PAY FOR MY REPAIRS AND KEEP MY RECEIPT IN CASE OF A RECALL'. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND IT NEEDS ATTENTION. MY GAS PEDAL LITERALLY BROKE OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WAS STUCK WIDE OPEN. BY THAT I MEAN IT BROKE OFF COMPLETELY FROM THE ASSEMBLY THAT HOLDS THE PEDAL TO THE ACTUAL CAR ITSELF! THEN, AFTER I CONTACTED THEM TO BRING IT IN TO A SHOP, THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE, AND WHEN I GOT IT OUT OF DRIVE, IT WILL NOT MOVE FROM PARK!! I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS YEAR OF MAGNUM!!! IT IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE!!! IN JUNE 2006 THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC 70 MPH WITH CLEAR AND DRY ROAD CONDITIONS AND THE VEHICLE DROPPED TO FIRST GEAR. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ON DEC 22, 2006 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND BECAUSE THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE DEALER CAME AND TOWED THE VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS CHANGED. THE CONTACT WAS CALLED ON DEC 28, 2006, AND WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS READY. THE FCM IS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO RELEASE DATE AVALIABLE. OK SO THEY SAID TO REPLACE THE PCM WHICH INCLUDES THE FCM WHICH IS ALSO NOT AVALIABLE. THE LIGHS ONLY FLICKER WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND AT NIGHT. MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHEN TURNING OR SPEED. WE HAVE CONTACTED MULTIPLE DEALERS AN ALL HAVE THE SAME RESPONSE. RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS CAR TOOK IT TO THE SHOP BECAUSE THE CAR WAS CUTTING OFF ON ITS OWN WHETHER PARKED OR IN DRIVE WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND IT CAME UP WITH A CODE FOR CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, GOT THAT CHANGED THE CODE WENT AWAY BUT THE CAR STILL TURNS OFF ON ITS OWN AND NO CODES SHOW UP. CRANKSHAFT HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED 2 TIMES&& THE ELECTRICAL THINGS WERE CHECKED JUST TO BE SAFE!&& A FEW DAYS AGO I WAS DRIVING MAYBE ABOUT 35MPH & THE CAR DECELERATED ON ITS OWN AND I COULDN'T ACCELERATE HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON.

AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL THE CAR HAS A TENDENCY TO STALL AT INTERSECTIONS OR STOP AND TURNS. ALSO WILL SURGE OR LOOSE POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. USUALLY ONLY LAST FOR 0-15 MILES OR SO AND THEN GOES AWAY UNTIL NEXT FILL UP. I BELIEVE THIS FAULT IS DUE TO A FUEL TANK ISSUE, THAT WHEN FILLED CAUSES FUEL TO BE SHUT OFF TO ENGINE. POSSIBILITY FOR BEING REAR ENDED ARE VERY GREAT WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEM. ESPECIALLY IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS.

ARRIVED HOME AFTER SHOPPING WITH GRANDDAUGHTER WAS UNLOADING CAR WHEN SHE MOVED SEAT FORWARD AND YELLED SMOKE. I RACED TO PASSENGER FRONT AND SEEN A TRICKLE OF SMOKE LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT AND OBSERVED A FLAME COMING FROM THE ? HEATED SEAT CONTROL MODULE? LUCKILY I WAS HOME EXSTIGUISHED THE FLAME DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. THEN PROCEEDED TO TAKE PART OFF. BURNED THE CONNECTOR, THE WIRES, AND THE MODULE. CAR WAS PARKED AND THE KEYS WAS IN MY POCKET. NO POWER SHOULD OF BEEN GOING IN THE UNIT.

WHEN DRIVING OR SITTING STILL THE BAS LIGHT COMES ON, CAR GOES TO 800 RPM IDLE AND TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL. I WAS STOPPED AT LIGHT. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. SOMETHING EXITED THE PASSENGER SIDE OF ENGINE BLOCK CAUSING A LARGE HOLE. CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE ENSUED. I TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION. I TURNED THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I COASTED TO THE NEAREST SIDE ROAD WHERE I STOPPED THE VEHICLE. WENT OUT TO START THE CAR ON 11/7/13 AND COULD NOT GET THE SHIFT OUT OF PARK. CALLED THE DODGE DEALER AND HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG. CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND THE OWNER SAID THAT HE ALSO KNEW WHAT WAS WRONG AND THAT HIS SMALL TOWING SERVICE HAD TOWED HUNDREDS OF CHRYSLER / DODGE CARS WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I CHECKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MY PROBLEM - CANNOT GET OUT OF PARK. I ALSO CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY KNEW OF THE PROBLEM, BUT THAT MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED - ONLY CERTAIN VIN'S ARE COVERED. IF THERE ARE 100'S OF CARS JUST IN MY SMALL LOCATION, THERE MUST BE 1000'S, IF NOT TENS OF THOUSANDS AFFECTED VEHICLES NATION WIDE. I WILL ALSO MENTION THAT THE MANUAL OVERRIDE FOR THE SHIFTER DID NOT WORK, SO MY CAR HAD TO BE DRAGGED ONTO THE TOW TRUCK. Airbag lights suddenly always on. Unknown if they are working or about to deploy. Hesitation in transmission while shifting, not sure if working properly. I haven't had any recalls fixed on this vehicle. It showed recalls and suddenly it shows all repaired. Is it due to the year?2005? Seat belts don't retract and are have to be manually maneuvered.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE MAGNUM. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG AND FUEL PUMP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED AT LAKESHORE CHRYSLER (330 E HOWZE BEACH RD, IN SLIDELL, LA). AFTER THE REPAIR, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT A CODE WAS FOUND FOR THE WEIGHT SENSOR CIRCUIT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, WHICH FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FUEL PUMP IS LOCATED DIRECTLY UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK SEAT. IT HAS A LEAK, AND MY CAR HAS BEEN SMEELING LIKE GAS FOR A MONTH NOW WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THERE WAS A PODDLE OF GAS UNDER THE SEAT WHERE THE NIPPLE ON THE FUEL PUMP BROKE. NOT TO MENTION MY BATTERY IN THE TRUNK , WELL THE WIRES CROSS RIGHT OVER THE FUEL PUMP. THIS IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. THESE ITEMS SHOULD BE NOWHERE NEAR EACH OTHER.

ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE OF THE 2005 DODGE MAGNUM, THE SEATBELT LIGHT CAME ON. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE JEEP/DODGE/CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN CARTHAGE, MS WHERE THE CLOCK SPRING WAS REPLACED. ABOUT 10 MILES TRAVELING AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, THE SEATBELT LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE INCESSANT DINGING FINALLY QUIT. WE HAD THE CLOCK SPRING REPLACE AGAIN AFTER ABOUT TWO WEEKS AS WE WERE TRAVELING. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE IN FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL AND HAVE HAD THE AIRBAGS REPLACED UNDER RECALL AND NOW HAVE ANOTHER RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. THE SEATBELT LIGHT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION, BUT WE CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE THIS REPLACED AT OUR EXPENSE AGAIN. WE HAVE HAD IT CORRECTED ONE TIME AT OUR EXPENSE, BUT CANNOT DO THIS AGAIN. I FEEL IT IS INCUMBENT UPON DAILMER CHRYSLER TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND HAVE THIS PROBLEM REPAIRED AT THEIR EXPENSE AS THE EVERYDAY CUSTOMER CANNOT CONTINUE TO AFFORD TO PAY FOR A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL ISSUED YEARS AGO. THE SAME PROBLEM CONTINUES TO THIS DAY WITH NEWER VEHICLES THAN OURS. I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR-END COLLISION ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO AT WHICH TIME OUR BODY SHOP REPLACED THE CLOCK SPRING AGAIN AND IT HAS COME ON AGAIN. I HAD MY BRAKES TO THE FLOOR, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE, AND I REAR-ENDED AT ABOUT 25 MILES PER HOUR. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND NHTSA SHOULD RECALL THESE VEHICLES IMMEDIATELY.

RUNNING LOW ON GAS ON JANUARY 15TH I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION TO REFUEL. I PURCHASED 91 OCTANE, PLACED THE NOZZLE IN THE GAS TANK TUBE AND BEGAN TO REFUEL. ONCE THE PUMP CLICKED I REPLACED THE GAS NOZZLE, TIGHTENED THE GAS CAP, STARTED THE CAR AND DROVE OFF. A FEW MONTHS AGO, THE POWER OUTLET LOCATED INSIDE THE ASTRAY STOPPED WORKING. IT BLEW A FUSE, I REPLACED IT. THEN, TWO WEEKS AGO, THE POWER OUTLET IN THE CONSOLE STOPPED WORKING. JUST TWO DAYS AGO, THE BATTERY WENT DEAD FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THREE MONTHS. I REPLACED THE BATTERY AGAIN. NOW ALL THE SUDDEN THE AC/HEATER STOPPED WORKING. ON SATURDAY JUNE 6, 2009 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2005 DODGE MAGNUM AND AS SHE WAS TURNING, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED IN PLACE. LUCKILY SHE DIDN'T HIT ANYONE OR ANYTHING. SHE WRESTLED WITH THE STEERING WHEEL AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO MOVE AGAIN AND DROVE STRAIGHT HOME. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IS WAS A "CLOCK SPRING" WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE AIRBAG IN THE STEERING COLUMN. IT HAD BROKE AND LODGED IN THE STEERING COLUMN CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, AND IT WOULD COST ME $550.00 TO FIX IT. THE FRONT TIRES HAVE WORN OUT ON THE OUTSIDE EDGES, CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT, GROWLING NOISE AT LOW SPEEDS NOW BEGINNING TO SHOW UP AT HIGHER SPEEDS. HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PROBLEM SINCE 6000 MILES ON THE CAR, NOW HAS 19500, DEALER SAYS THE ALIGNMENT HAS NO PROBLEMS, BLAMES THE TIRES, THE TIRE PEOPLE (CONTINENTAL) BLAME THE CAR. 2005 DODGE MAGNUM MAKE S A BUZZING NOISE FROM THE TRUNK AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. *TS ***NAR*** THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE INNER PANELING AROUND THE HATCH DOOR WAS NOT CUT PROPERLY. ONE SIDE WAS FLUSH, INSIDE THE GROOVE AND THE OTHER SIDE WAS SLIGHTLY SEPARATED, WHICH CAUSED THE VIBRATION. THE CONSUMER PLACED SMALL PIECES OF CUSHION INSIDE THE OPEN AREAS TO HOLD THE PANEL STEADY. THE FABRIC MOLDING AROUND THE WINDOW WAS SAGGING. THE WINDOW CONTROLS ON THE REAR LEFT SIDE SUNK INTO THE DOOR AND THE WINDOW LOCKED ON ITS OWN. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO HAVE A RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION AND THE DEALER HAD THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE ALL DAY AND FAILED TO INFORM THEM THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO THEIR VEHICLE. *JB

CONSUMER HAD REPAIR DONE ON STEERING COLUMN MODULE, AND ON A/C COOLING FOR FUNGUS GROWTH WHICH HAD A BAD ODOR INSIDE VEHICLE THAT IS STILL UNRESOLVED. *TS THE STEERING COLUMN MODULE FAILED TWO DAYS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. AS A RESULT THERE WERE NO WIPERS, HORN TURN SIGNALS OR CRUISE CONTROL. THERE WERE SIX ATTEMPTS MADE TO REMOVE THE FOUL SMELL FROM THE VEHICLE, ALL UNSUCCESSFUL. ACCORDING TO TSB #24-013-05 DATED AUGUST AUG 4, 2005 THE CAUSE OF THE ODOR WAS DUE TO CONDENSATION FORMING AROUND THE A/C COOLING COIL WHICH RESULTED IN BACTERIA AND FUNGI GROWTH. DT: THE CONSUMER STATES THAT 2005 DODGE MAGNUM RT HAS BEEN STALLING AND PULLING TO THE RIGHT. THE CONSUMER SAYS THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT 35-65 MPH. THE VEHICLE STALLED NINE TIMES. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIPS TOLD THE CONSUMER TO TAKE IT TO OTHER DEALERSHIPS. CHRYSLER TOLD THE CONSUMER TO GO TO GLOVE BOX AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO FILE FOR THE LEMON LAW. THE CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT HEAVILY. I HAVE A 2005 MAGNUM SXT, THE CAR HAS PULLED TO THE RIGHT SINCE DAY ONE, IT HAS BEEN ALIGNED 2 TIMES NOW. THE 2 FRONT TIRES ARE WEARING BADLY ON THE OUTSIDE, THE DRIVER SIDE IS WORSE THAN THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE REQUESTED THAT CHRYSLER REPLACE THE TIRES AT THIS TIME I HAVE NOT HEARD AN ANSWER ON THAT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE WEAR ON THE TIRES IS NOT DUE TO THE CAR PULLING TO THE RIGHT THAT IT IS A WEAR PROBLEM (I GUESS THE WAY I DRIVE) I DON'T AGREE!! I BOUGHT A 2005 DODGE MAGNUM ON APRIL 9. ON APRIL 15 I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE STOPPED AT RED LIGHT. WHEN I TOOK OFF THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH AND WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. THE CAR WAS STUCK IN SECOND GEAR. THE DEALER HAD THE CAR FROM APRIL 15 UNTIL APRIL 29. THEY NEVER DID EXPLAIN WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. I CAN'T TELL YOU WHAT ALL THEY REPLACED BECAUSE MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP NOW. THIS HAPPENED IN JUNE JULY AND AUGUST ALL UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND A MAN NAMED LARRY MCCLAIN CONTACTED ME. HE WAS IN TOUCH WITH THE DEALER EVERY TIME THEY HAD THE CAR. HE ALWAYS RETURNED MY CALL UNTIL THIS TIME WHEN I SAID THE CAR FELL UNDER THE NC LEMON LAW. EACH TIME THE DEALER HAS HAD THE CAR IT WAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THE THIRD TIME THAT A SERVICE BULLETIN HAD BEEN ISSUED BECAUSE MOISTURE COULD BUILD UP IN A SOLENOID IN THE TRANSMISSION AND CAUSE IT TO FAIL. THIS IS WHAT THEY REPLACED THE THIRD TIME. THIS TIME I HAVE NO IDEA BECAUSE NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK. ALL I WAS TOLD TODAY WHEN I WENT BY THERE WAS THE PART THEY REPLACED DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP IS ANDERSON'S IN WAYNESVILLE. WHEN MY WIFE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR IN REVERSE, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD WITH NO ENGINE REACTION. APPROXIAMTELY 3-4 SECONDS LATER, THE CAR VIOLENTLY TOOK OFF BACKWARDS, RAMMING ANOTHER CAR IN OUR DRIVEWAY. THIS ACTION WAS REPEATABLE FOR MONTHS AND IT WAS DOCUMENTED BY THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER AS A MAJOR MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION. DODGE DID NOT ADDRESS THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND EVERY TIME SAID THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS. WE HAVE FOUND OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. THIS COST OUR INSURANCE COMPNAY SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. ALSO, THE FACTORY TIRES HAD VERY PREMATURE TIRE WEAR. I HAD TO REPLACE THEM AT 18,000 MILES. DODGE DID REPLACE SUSPENSION PARTS UNDER WARRANTY PRIOR TO THE PREMATURE TIRE WEAR. AGAIN, DODGE SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE TIRE WEAR.

THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2005 DODGE MAGNUM HAS STUTTERED, CLUNKED, VIBRATED, AND SURGED SINCE THE 3RD WEEK I HAD IT. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF 15 DAYS SO FAR FOR THIS PROBLEM. MY DEALER CALLED STAR HOTLINE AND WERE TOLD THAT THERE IS NO FLASH FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND THAT I NEED TO DRIVE MORE AGGRESSIVELY (LIKE I CAN DRIVE 80 IN A 35 MPH ZONE!) OR JUST LIVE WITH IT. HEADLIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS MAKE SUBSTANTIAL FLICKER/PULSE WHILE DRIVING AFTER THE VEHICLE SITS FOR SEVERAL HOURS (ALL DAY AT WORK OR OVERNIGHT). THE FLICKER/PULSE IS NOTICEABLE ENOUGH THAT TWO VEHICLES I WAS FOLLOWING HAVE PULLED OVER TO LET ME PASS AND I GET MANY STRANGE LOOKS FROM OTHER DRIVERS. VEHICLE WAS EXAMINED AT SELLING DEALER ON 2/15/05, WORK ORDER STATES "VEHICLE APPEARS TO BE OPERATING WITHIN DESIGN SPEC'S AT THIS TIME." THIS SAFETY DEFECT STILL EXISTS. ALSO, TIRES FLAT SPOT AFTER SAME TIME AS STATED ABOVE. FOR THE FIRST 3-4 MILES, AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 45 MPH, TIRES MAKE THUMPING NOISE AND CAR SHAKES. SHAKING IS FELT THROUGH SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL. AFTER 3-4 MILES, THUMP AND SHAKE GRADUALLY DISAPPEAR.
