MY DODGE MAGNUM KEEPS GOING INTO LIMP MODE. LIMITS TO 35 MPH AND WILL SLOW YOU TO 35 QUICKLY. I TOOK IT IN TO A DODGE DEALER AND THEY PREFORMED A TCM UPDATE AND ALLOWED ME TO TAKE THE CAR I MADE IT 5 MILES BEFORE GOING INTO LIMP MODE. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY CLEARED THE CODE AND I COULD DRIVE IT FOR A WHILE BEFORE IT WOULD GO IN LIMP MODE. ( SO I COULD DRIVE OFF AND GET IN TRAFFIC ON OPEN ROAD GO IN LIMP MODE AND POSSIBLY CRASH OR BE CRASHED INTO GOING 35 MPH ON A 65MPH INTERSTATE) NOT SAFE IN MY BOOKS. THIS IS MY 4TH DODGE AND 3RD TIME I HAVE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM. 05 MAGNUM, 07 MAGNUM. 05 RAM 1500. THERE IS FORMS WHERE THIS HAPPENS OFTEN. I THINK DODGE SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM AND NOT CHARGE ME EVERYTIME THEY HAVE TO LOOK AT IT. 70$ JUST TO TELL ME IT'S IN LIMP MODE WHEN I ALREADY KNEW THAT AND KNEW WHAT CODE WAS TRIPPED FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Magnum. The contact stated that while driving approximately 32 mph the vehicle crashed into a second vehicle causing severe damage to the front end but the front driver side air bag did not deploy and the front passenger-side airbag was partially deployed. The driver sustained head, neck, torso and back injuries and the front passenger sustained an injured right hand. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted regarding the incident. The failure mileage was 111,000.

THE COMMON ISSUES OF MANY 2007 DODGE MAGNUM VEHICLES IS THAT MY SHIFTER WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION, THE SPRING WAS POORLY MADE AND THE JOB COST AT A LOCAL DODGE PLACE $280. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED WITH SEVERAL DODGE OWNERS AND ITS OUTRAGEOUS THAT IT NOT NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A SIDE STREET AND AFTER WORK I WENT INTO MY CAR TO DRIVE HOME AND THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE.

SERVICE REP SAID HE'S SEEN OTHER MAGNUMS, 300'S AND CHARGERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. $510.00 LATER THE CAR WAS FIXED...ENTIRE SHIFTER ASS'Y WAS REPLACED AND CAR RUNS FINE NOW. NO INDICATION OF TROUBLE BEFORE IT BROKE BUT THIS MAY BE A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM FOR CHRYSLER CARS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.

VEHICLE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTER IS "STUCK IN PARK". THIS LEAVES THE DRIVER STRANDED AT A LOCATION. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH DODGE AND CHRYSLER 2007 VEHICLES. (ALSO, CIRCA 2007) A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THE SHIFTER INTERLOCK "PINK THING" BUT ONLY FOR CERTAIN VINS. MINE HAS THE SAME PART, BUT NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. IF YOU LOOK ON THE INTERNET AT "DODGE STUCK IN PARK" YOU WILL SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE LIKE ME ARE IN THIS SAME PREDICAMENT. I AM OLD AND HAVE MEDICAL PROBLEMS FOR WHICH I DON'T NEED TO BE STRANDED OR MAY NEED THE VEHICLE TO GET TO A DOCTOR, ETC. WHILE DRIVING THROUGH ARIZONA IN MY 2007 DODGE MAGNUM SXT ONE OF THE COOLING FANS DISINTEGRATED AND DAMAGED MY RADIATOR PUNCHING HOLES AND CAUSING COOLANT TO BEGIN RAPIDLY LEAKING. AFTER ASSESSING THE DAMAGE I WAS ABLE TO LIMP THE CAR ALONG TO THE NEXT TOWN WHERE I WAITED FOR A FRIEND TO PICK UP A NEW RADIATOR AND DRIVE 2 HOURS TO OUR LOCATION WHERE WE CHANGED IT OUT IN A PARKING LOT. IT WAS 107 DEGREES. 2 DAYS LATER I PURCHASED AND INSTALLED THE FAN FROM THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER. I RETURNED HOME THE NEXT DAY AND BEGAN RESEARCHING THE CAUSE OF THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE. IT TURNS OUT THAT CHRYSLER RELEASED A RECALL "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION L08 ENGINE COOLING FANS" FOR 2006 THRU 2008 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES WITH "SEVERE DUTY ENGINE COOLING" SYSTEMS WITH THE SALES CODE NMS, XDL OR XDK AND BUILT THROUGH APRIL 29, 2008. MY VEHICLE HAS THE SALES CODE NMCP AND HAS BEEN EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. HOWEVER MY RESEARCH REVEALS THAT THERE IS NO DISTINGUISHABLE DIFFERENCE IN THE FANS PART NUMBER FROM THE YEARS 2004 THRU 2014. CONTACTING CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS BROUGHT NO RESULTS. I RECOMMEND ESTABLISHING A RECORD OF THESE FAN FAILURE OCCURRENCES IN VEHICLES THAT HAVE OTHER THAN THE RECALL'S STATED SALES CODES, AND THAT A NEW RECALL FOR ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS COOLING FAN SYSTEM BE RELEASED. THE EXISTING RECALL INCLUDES "SOLD TO SALES CODES AND/OR ARE CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN WARM CLIMATE STATES...". I LIVE IN A DESIGNATED WARM CLIMATE STATE ACCORDING TO THE RECALL. PARTS 11.79 MISC 13.86 LABOR 277.20 DODGE REFUSED ANY GOODWILL, SHOULD BE A RECALL DUE TO DEFECTIVE ORIGINAL PARTS BEING REPLACED WITH NEW AND IMPROVED PARTS. *TR THE CONSUMER STATED RECENTLY, THE CHECK ENGINE AND ETC LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER CONSUMER THE CONSUMER THE VEHICLE A VERY LOW COMPRESSION IN CYLINDER #5 AND RECOMMENDED HAVING A VALVE JOB, AS WELL AS REPLACING THE WATER PUMP AND TIMING BELT, AT A COST OF $3,500. THE CONSUMER FOUND A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP THAT WAS WILLING TO DO THE WORK FOR $2,103. WHILE FIXING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT ONE OF THE VALVE GUIDES ON CYLINDER #5 HAD LET THE STEM RUN AT AN ANGLE CUTTING A COLLAR INTO THE ALUMINUM ROCKER ARM. UPDATED 03/19/13

FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS SHAKING WHEN BRAKING. ROTORS WARPED AND PADS WERE CRACKED AT ABOUT 15,000 MILES. THE CAR NOW HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT AND HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES AND ROTORS FOUR TIMES. THE LAST TIME I USED TOP OF THE LINE DRILLED AND SLOTTED ROTORS AND RED CERAMIC PADS HOPING THAT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM.. THEY LASTED A LITTLE LONGER BUT EVENTUALLY THE SAME OUTCOME.

I THEN HAVE TO RETIGHTED FOR A CORRECT INSTALLATION. THERE IS A NICE SUPER TIGHT INSTALL AND WITH MY 35 LBS CHILD SITTING IN IT CORRECTLY, THE LATCH BECOMES LOOSE MAKING THE CARSEAT VERY UNSAFE. THE DOM IS 10/09. LOT # 0911. PN# SSK-000306-SB-08. THE SELECTION FOR MY MODEL NUMBER IS NOT OFFERED. THE CAR SEAT MODEL # IS US19000. MANUFACTUING DATE IS 08/08 AND THE SERIAL NUMBER IS 08080052802691. I DID NOT SEE A PLACE TO PUT THE CORRECT INFORMATION FURTHER ON IN THE FORM. SUNSHINE KIDS SEND ME THE SUPER LATCH AS A REPLACEMENT PART FOR MY ORIGINAL LATCH THAT BECAME TANGLED AND UNUSABLE. THEY DID NOT OFFER THE ORIGINAL LATCH AS A REPLACEMENT AND SENT THE SUPER LATCH INSTEAD. I CONTACTED SUNSHINK KIDS TO INQUIRED ABOUT A NEW REPLACEMENT SUPER LATCH DUE TO THE LOOSENING PROBLEM AND THEY WERE HAPPY TO SEND ME A REPLACEMENT FOR ONE OF MY SEATS. THEY HOWEVER, DID NOT OFFER TO PREVENTATIVELY REPLACE MY OTHER CARSEAT THAT WAS NOT YET EXPERIENCING THE SAME INSTALLATION PROBLEM. I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING FAILURES WITH THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR (CODE C121A) INTERMITTENTLY FOR OVER A MONTH. IN DOING RESEARCH WITH OTHER OWNERS OF THE LX SERIES VEHICLES (CHARGER, MAGNUM, 300) AND JEEP VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE SENSOR IT SEEMS THAT THIS PART COMMONLY FAILS, OFTEN FOR AN UNDETERMINED REASON. EXPLANATIONS VARY BETWEEN CHAFING AND FRICTION CAUSING PLASTIC CHIPS TO OBSCURE THE ELECTRO-OPTICAL SENSOR, TO CHAFING OR BAD WIRING HARNESSES. THE INABILITY OF THIS SENSOR TO INITIALIZE RESULTS IN A LACK OF ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WHICH COULD CONTRIBUTE TO A CRASH.
