Vehicle purchased pre-owned/used Sept.7th 2022 from dealership. Had 3 open recalls which were addressed. Said recall in question is 14v567000 ignition switch problem. I have had vehicle back at dealer now 3 times for continued problem of ignition sticking in the start mode as it keeps turning over & you have to physically turn ignition off or cycle it to stop the sticking problem. Dealer has changed the ignition module 3 times & problem still exist. 3 modules in less than a year. I do understand that this is not a dealer problem as they are only the repair facility. I have called Chrysler corporation with the issue & they keep sending me back to the dealer. This is a faulty/defective part that falls completely on Chrysler & there engineering, design, development, testing, & production that is clearly not being done or accomplished. Safety issue clearly needs to be addressed at the highest level. I have seen many complaints concerning this recall that appear to not have been fixed from repeated failures. 1st attempted fix recall Sept 2022, 2nd attempted fix, Oct 2022, 3rd attempted fix Aug 2023. I have just taken said vehicle back to the dealer to hopefully address this issue again.

ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL DEALER, MY CAR'S IGNITION MODULE WAS REPLACED AS A RESULT OF A RECALL. LAST WEEK MY CAR SHUT OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING 55MPH WHICH IS THE EXACT PROBLEM CAUSING THE ORIGINAL RECALL. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ALL CAME ON FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BUT THE ENGINE QUIT RUNNING. THEN, AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS IT RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE CAR WILL ALSO NOT START ON OCCASION WHEN TURNING THE KEY UNLESS I PUSH THE KEY SIDEWAYS WHILE TURNING IT. I THINK SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE IGNITION MODULE. IT IS POSSIBLE THE PROBLEM WITH THE NEW IGNITION MODULE IS THE SAME AS THE OLD ONE? OR IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT EVER PERFORMED IN SPITE OF WHAT MY DEALER SAYS? THE DEALER REFUSES TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM FOR FREE BECAUSE, ACCORDING TO THEIR RECORDS, THE RECALL OF THE IGNITION MODULE HAS BEEN DONE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

WHILE SITTING AT RED LIGHT (FOOT ON BRAKES W ENGINE IDLING) CITY STREET WAITING FOR A GREEN LIGHT, I HEARD A LOUD NOISE (SOUND LIKE A LOUD CLUNK; BELT OR SOMETHING BREAKING APART) COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I QUICKLY LOOKED AT THE DASHBOARD FOR SOME INDICATION (NO WARNING/RED LIGHTS/HIGH TEMP/ LOW OIL PRESSURE) THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. NO SURE OF WHAT JUST HAPPENED, I DECIDED TO MAKE A U-TURN INTO PARKING LOT TO INVESTIGATE. AS I MADE THE U-TURN, I LOOKED IN REARVIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED A TRAIL OF FLUID BEHIND ME AS I DROVE INTO PARKING LOT. PARKED CAR, AND RAISED THE HOOD TO FIND THAT I HAD A COOLANT LEAK. NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM, I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO TOW MY VEHICLE HOME. TWO DAYS LATER WHILE REMOVING THE FRONTEND ASSEMBLY TO INVESTIGATE ROOT CAUSE OF MY COOLANT LEAK, SMALL AND LARGE PIECES OF PLASTIC FELL OUT FROM UNDER THE FRONTEND ASSEMBLY. AS I REMOVED THE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY, I NOTICED THE FAN BLADES HAD BROKE OFF (ROOT CAUSE OF MY COOLANT LEAK) AND DAMAGED THE RADIATOR.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2008 DODGE MAGNUM ONE DAY AS I WAS DRIVING GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY THE OIL LIGHT BLINKED ON SO I IMMEDIATELY PULLED IN TO THE GAS STATION,AND CHECKED THE OIL IT WAS A LITTLE LOW. I BUY A QUART OF OIL AND PUT ABOUT HALF IN JUST TO BE SURE THAT THE ENGINE HAD ENOUGH OIL. WHILE DRIVING MY 2008 DODGE MAGNUM, MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND NOT ONE LIGHT INSIDE TURNED ON INDICATING A PROBLEM. THERE IS A PIECE IN THE DRIVING GEAR SHIFT THAT ALLOWS YOU TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE. WHEN THIS PIECE BREAKS IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE GEAR SHIFT TO MOVE OUT OF PARK. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING IN MANY DODGE VEHICLES. I HAVE HAD FOUR OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAIN THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THEIR CAR ALSO. IT SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE PLASTIC PIECE THAT SEEMS VERY EASY TO BREAK. I, DEBORAH CROSS, WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF, THE DASH GAGES DROPPED TO ZERO AND JUST AS QUICKLY THE LIGHTS AND GAGES WENT BACK TO NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG.

THE CAR JERKS VERY BADLY GOING INTO 3RD GEAR FROM 2ND. THE CAR WILL NOT CRANK ONCE EVERY TWO DAYS OR SO. THE CAR CUTS OFF AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS AND WHEN I'M NOT PREPARED IT ALMOST RUNS ME OFF THE ROAD. THE GAUGES CUT ALL THE WAY OFF WHILE DRIVING ONCE EVERY WEEKS. CASE DESCRIPTION I HAD A RECALLS ON MY 2008 DODGE MAGNUM FOR AIRBAGS, AND IGNITION. HAD IT TOWED TO COMMINWEALTH DODGE CAUSE IT STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING. THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION, AND SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED AIRBAGS ALSO. THE IGNITION ALLOWED THE CAR TO THEN RESTART. HOWEVER WHEN I WENT TO PICK THE CAR UP IT RAN REALLY BADLY, AND HAD ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS IN THE DASH ON. I CONFRONTED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS BEFORE EVEN LEAVING THE LOT. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. I TOWED IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY FOUND THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS PULLED APART UNDER THE DASH. HELP!! I HAVE A 2008 MAGNUM. I TRIED FOR 3 MONTHS TO GET THE IGNITION RECALL DONE. "PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE". SUDDENLY 3/2016 MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THEY DID THE P57, R25 RECALLS. UPON RETURN OF CAR TO ME I NOTICE DASH FUNCTIONS INOPERABLE. I WENT RIGHT BACK INSIDE AND WAS TOLD I COULD LEAVE IT TO BE LOOKED AT (I WOULD BE BILLED) I CALLED FCAUSLLC AND THEY SET ME UP FOR A TOW TO A 2ND DEALER. THERE IT WAS FOUND THE WIRING UNDER THE DASH HAD BEEN PULLED APART. PARTIAL REPAIR WAS MADE THERE, BUT I THEN HAD A SLOW DRAIN ON ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. FOR 2+ MONTHS I WAS IGNORED BY FCA TRYING TO GET THE ISSUE REMEDIED. ON 5/22/16 I WAS ON HIGHWAY AND CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AGAIN. THIS TIME I HIT A RETAINING WALL. IT'S BEEN 3 MONTHS AND I HAVE NO SOLUTION TO THIS. I WAS IGNORED FOR A MONTH AND A HALF. THEN THEY DENEYED MY CLAIM DUE TO IT "NOT BEING A MFG. DEFECT" THEY KNEW THE PROBLEM BEFORE THIS HAPPENED IN THE MEANTIME THE DEALER WHERE THE CAR IS HAS NOTIFIED ME THE CARS AIRBAGS HAD BEEN DEPLOYED AND ARE NO GOOD.... IF THEY JUST REPLACED ONE OF THEM, HOW HAD THEY BEEN DEPLOYED... WHY WOULD THEY SAID TO HAVE DONE A RECALL ON A DEPLOYED SYSTEM..... AND WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED OF A AIRBAG SYSTEM THAT WOULD NOT HAVE HELPED ME IF I WOULD HAVE HIT THE WALL HEAD ON? I HAVE FILED 2 COMPLAINTS WITH BBB , AND FCA LIED ABOUT THE WHOLE SITUATION, AND THE CASE WAS CLOSED. THE DEALERSHIP THAT MESSED UP THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REPLIED WITH A FALSE SITUATION, AND SALES PITCH FOR A NEW CAR, AND MY FILE WAS CLOSED. I AM 2500+ MILES FROM MY VEHICLE, AM IN FINANCIAL SHAMBLES. I WAS TAKING MY FAMILY (WIFE, 18 MONTH OLD, 2 YR OLD, AND 4 YR OLD) TO GET SOME ICE CREAM AFTER A HOME DEPOT TRIP. AS I TURNED LEFT ACROSS A BUSY STREET THE STEREO SUDDENLY BLINKED OUT, AND THE ENGINE DIED, ALONG WITH POWER STEERING, BRAKES, AND EVERY ELECTRICAL FUNCTION. IT SIMPLY BLINKED LIKE ALL POWER WAS LOST FOR A MOMENT, AND WAS ENOUGH TO KILL THE ENGINE, AND LOOSE ALL POWER ASSIST FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE. THANKFULLY I HAD MOMENTUM AND WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO THE SIDE STREET WITH OUT BEING T-BONED BY ON COMING TRAFFIC. I WAS SENT RECALL P57/NHTSA 14V-567 IN THE MAIL IN NOVEMBER 2014, BUT THERE WAS AND STILL IS NO REMEDY FOR THIS RECALL WHICH APPEARS TO BE DIRECTLY LINKED TO MY INCIDENT. THIS IS A POLICE PACKAGE 2008 DODGE MAGNUM. WE HAVE A FLEET OF THEM. ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE THE OFFICERS EXPERIENCE A SYSTEM SHUT DOWN. THE SYSTEMS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO ALL DASH WARNING INDICATORS COME ON SUDDENLY, THE ALARM SYSTEM INDICATOR ILLUMINATES AND BEGINS TO FLASH EVERY SECOND, GAUGES GO TO ZERO, THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFT TO 1ST GEAR, POWER REDUCTION KICKS IN, IF THE OFFICER PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK IT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK, IT BECOMES LOCKED. ALSO THE IF THE OFFICER SHUTS THE VEHICLE OFF IT WILL NOT START AND THE SECURITY SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT BLINKS EVERY SECOND. ONLY AFTER PULLING FUSE 11 TURNING THE KEY ON AND THEN OFF REINSTALLING THE FUSE WILL THE CAR START. AND MAYBE GO INTO GEAR. THE LAST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 WEEKS AGO THE OFFICER HAD A PERP IN THE BACK SEAT AND THE CAR STALLED OUT ON HIM. HE GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO OPEN THE HOOD AND HIS KEYS WERE LEFT INSIDE. THE LOCKED ITSELF DOWN, AND THE DOORS LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY. THE PERSON IN BACK BECAME TRAPPED FOR AN HOUR UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO BY PASS THE LOCKS WITH A SPARE KEY. THE LOCAL DEALER HAS CHARGED US AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF MONEY TO CHANGE SEVERAL MODULES, RECALIBRATE, AND TEST FOR THE FAILURE. NOTHING HAS BEEN CIRCUMVENTED TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS PARKED THESE VEHICLE DUE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE QUESTION REMAINS, IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAN BUS SYSTEM? OR WILL A SIMPLE KEY SWITCH FIX THE ISSUE? EVERY TIME WE DROVE THE CAR, EXHAUST FUMES CAME IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER 25 TIMES. THEY COULD NOT FIX IT. WE TOOK IT TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT, THEY PUT AN CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN IT AND THEY SAID IT WAS POISONING US WITH DEADLY FUMES AND TOLD US NOT TO DRIVE IT. I CAUGHT PNEUMONIA FIVE TIMES IN THE EIGHT MONTHS WE OWNED IT. THE DEALER WOULDN'T HELP US, DODGE WOULDN'T HELP US. IT WAS AT THE TIME DODGE WAS FAKING BANKRUPTCY. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, THE SERVICE WRITER FINALLY SAID IT WAS OK FOR EXHAUST TO GET IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. I TOLD HIM IT WAS AGAINST FEDERAL LAW FOR MY FAMILY TO BREATHE THEIR EXHAUST AND NOT TO CALL US UNTIL IT WAS FIXED. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN UNTIL I RECEIVED A LETTER INFORMING US WE OWED CHRYSLER FINANCIAL $25,000 FOR,,, A CAR WE COULD NOT DRIVE. I TRIED TO GET IT LEMON LAWED AND COULDN'T GET ANYTHING DONE BECAUSE THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION WAS SUPPOSED TO BE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. 08 MAGNUM PURCHASED 08.08.2009 W/ 40,235 MILES W/ 48,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY. AROUND JANUARY OF 2010 STALLING IN PARKING LOTS, AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, WHILE IN REVERSE. WHILE REGULAR DRIVING CAR WILL BUCK, AS THOUGH NEUTRAL WAS ENGAGED AND DISENGAGED. THIS MAY OCCUR WEEKLY, NO DIAGNOSIS WAS MADE ON MULTIPLE TRIPS. NOW WHILE DRIVING AT 65-70MPH ON HIGHWAY ON 6/04/2010, RIGHT FRONT TIE ROD END "EXPLODES". I WAS ABLE TO WRESTLE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND SAFELY PULL OVER TO SHOULDER AFTER NEARLY HITTING WALL.
