I am complaining that Recall # 21S12 has been unresolved for years now. They have replaced the passenger airbag, but not the Driver side. This is a serious issue and not addressing it in a timely matter puts me and my families safety at risk. In the case of the passenger Airbag, I was offered a loaner vehicle. Now with the Drivers side Airbag recall, I have not been offered the same measure of safety. Thank You, Sincerely, Floyd Baker

The contact was able to park the vehicle and restarted the vehicle however, the vehicle continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission valve to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at 30-40 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic who diagnosed that the PCM had failed and damaged the coil. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle in for a diagnosis. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that they could not assist since the VIN was not included in a recall related to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The PTU have a severe problem and the computer didn't warn for this problem until the car just stop getting out of the freeway, slowing down and making loud noises under also stop complity at the street and a car behind me almost crashed in my back, I tried to switch from drive to park and didn't move then I tried the reverse and make a loud sound then I put in drive and star advancing very slowly and with loud noise, finally I got home and smoke staring coming in the front driver side and the smell was a burning rubber. After I got out and let the car to cool down I tried to drive in reverse but the reverse didn't work, only from drive and L gear, I parked my car with the front end facing my home, I can't drive it it all

VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY ROAD WHEN VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN MAKES LOUD/HARD CLANK NOISE AND IMMEDIATELY LOSES POWER - ALMOST LIKE IT STARTED TOWING A TRAILER! LOSS OF POWER, WRENCH LIGHT, TPS LIGHT, AIRBAG LIGHT ALL COME ON, SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING. PULLED OVER, LOUD/HARD CLANK SOUND WITH EVERY GEAR CHANGE P-2. VEHICLE HAD DISPLAYED NO ISSUES PRIOR TO THIS. DROPPED VEHICLE OFF AT MECHANIC, WHEN HE LOOKED AT IT NEXT MORNING, VEHICLE IS RUNNING PERFECT. I AM GREATLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT APPEARS TO BE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE TO BE FOUND ALL OVER THE INTERNET WITH NO FIXES KNOWN. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX THIS ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR IS KILLED FROM THE EXTREME LOSS OF POWER THE VEHICLE IS SUFFERING FROM WHEN THIS HAPPENS.

I have a fuel leak, brought it to my standard shop and they informed me that the fuel tank has rusted through from the top of the fuel tank and needs a complete replacement. I have called Ford and they explained that my vehicle was inspected inspected recall 14s22 in March of 2016 and deemed no repair was needed, so no additional repair would be covered.

FOR 2-3 WEEKS, SMELLED GAS VAPORS WHEN WE GOT NEAR THE CAR TO GO SOMEWHERE. I GOT UNDER THE CAR AND TOOK A PHOTO OF A RUST SPOT WITH GAS STAINING NEAR IT. IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS PART OF A RECALL (14V682000) BUT OUR CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT IT THEY SAID THEY TOOK CARE OF THE RECALL ON ONE OF OUR PREVIOUS VISITS. I HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW GAS TANK.

Took car to mechanic & was advised the brake power booster is bad & that there is a recall on it, however for some reason my car is not included in this recall.........why?

When braking, the brake petal is hard to push. I traveled about 10 miles the other day and it happened about 20 times so now I'm trying not to drive until Friday when my shop can check the brakes and if I do have to drive I will stay great distance behind other vehicles. The mechanic said it sounds like brake booster problem. I checked online and found that other Ford Edge vehicles are having this problem, but there is no recall.

WHEN I PRESS THE BREAKS TO STOP, IT IS HARD TO PRESS, LIKE I'M PUSHING AGAINST AIR AND ON A COMPLETE STOP IT CONTINUES TO MOVE IN MOTION. (THE BREAKS DON'T STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN STATIONARY. IT STARTED 2 DAYS AGO AND I'M SCARED BECAUSE I HAD MY NIECE IN THE CAR AND I ALMOST RAN OFF THE ROAD WHERE AN INCOMING CAR WAS GOING TO HIT ME STRAIGHT ON MY LEFT. THE WATER PUMP ON THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN A POSITION THAT REQUIRES A FULL AND EXPENSIVE REMOVAL OF THE ENGINE TO EVEN CHECK ON IT. MANUAL HAS NO WATER PUMP MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. THE WATER PUMP HAS FAILED INTERNALLY AND DUMPS COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE AND OIL PAN. THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW THIS IS COMING OR HAS HAPPENED UNTIL YOUR ENGINE OVERHEATS. BY THAT POINT THE COOLANT HAS ALREADY RUN THROUGH MY ENGINE AND CAUSED IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE THAT REQUIRES A COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. FORD IS AND HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING.

While driving my 2007 Ford Edge on the interstate highway, going around 70 MPH, I noticed a wrench appear on my dash. My speedometer also had stopped working and I got the error code “ODO DATA ERROR”. I eventually pulled over and turned the vehicle off and on, afterwards the vehicle did not accelerate when the gas pedal was pressed.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated that their vehicle's passenger rear sliding door failed to close. The contact noticed that the wires had been burnt which later caused malfunctions with the passenger headlamp and brake lamp to fail. The contact stated that while pulling into a stop at a stoplight they noticed smoke coming from under the hood of the vehicle. The contact drove about a mile and a half at a slow speed to the nearest certified mechanic who stated that the wire harness for the sliding door needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed their vehicle's VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000

TAILLIGHT WAS INOPERATIVE, PASSENGER SIDE, ALONG WITH DIRECTIONAL SIGNAL. THINKING IT WAS A BURNED OUT BULB, I REMOVED THE TAIL LIGHT CONNECTOR FROM THE PLASTIC HOUSING. I NOTICED THAT THE BULB HAD TOTALLY FUZED ITSELF TO THE CONNECTOR. WHILE THE BULB FILAMENTS APPEAR INTACT, THE BULB AND CONNECTOR HAD GENERATED ENOUGH HEAT TO ESSENTIALLY MELT THE BASE OF THE BULB TO THE CONNECTOR INTO ONE UNIT. ODDLY ENOUGH, WHEN LOOKING FOR THE CAUSE OF WHY SO MUCH HEAT WOULD BE GENERATED, I GOOGLED "CAR TAIL LIGHT CONNECTOR AND BULB MELTED". SURPRISE SURPRISE, I WAS DIRECTED TO THE FORD EDGE FORUM WHERE THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT. NATURALLY, I NEEDED TO GET THIS FIXED QUICKLY AND MY HUSBAND WAS GOING TO THE SALVAGE YARD FOR UNRELATED PARTS, SO I ASKED HIM TO SEE IF HE COULD FIND A CONNECTOR, SINCE THIS PARTICULAR ITEM WAS COMMON TO MANY, MANY FORD AND MERCURY VEHICLES. HE FOUND T FORD FOCUS' THAT USED THIS CONNECTOR, AND BOUGHT THEM. OF NOTE, THE TWO CONNECTORS (1 WAS A "SPARE") HE BROUGHT HOME WERE BOTH SHOWING SIGNS OF DISCOLORATION OF THE PLASTIC ON THE CONNECTOR. THE FORUMS SAY FORD HAS NEGATIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THIS, BUT YOU GOTTA WONDER. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE POOR QUALITY OF THE CHEAP PLASTIC RETAINER CLIP USED TO KEEP THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTED TO THE CONNECTOR. I REMOVED FOUR UNITS. ALL FOUR RETAINER CLIPS BROKE OR DISINTEGRATED. MY FEAR IT THE POTENTIAL OF A FIRE HAZARD AND SIGNIFICANT ELECTRICAL FAILURE AS THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE BULB REPLACEMENT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I DO HAVE THE BULB IN QUESTION IF YOU NEED ME TO SEND IT IN.

THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

1. WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN MY 2007 FORD EDGE SEL WITH HANKOOK TIRES, WHEN THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT TURNED ON. 2. AT WORK, I FOUND A TIRE WAS AT 20 PSI AND LEAKING FROM A CRACK AT THE BASE OF THE VALVE STEM. I INSPECTED THE THREE OTHER STEMS AND FOUND THEM WITH CRACKS AT THE BASE OF THE VALVE STEM. 3. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE LEAKING VALVE STEM. THEY DID NOT TOUCH THE OTHER THREE VALVE STEMS. I HAVE A 2007 FORD EDGE WITH CONTINENTAL TIRES SIZE P245/60 R18-------104T THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 16,000 MILES ON IT AND THE FRONT TIRES HAVE WORN DOWN DRAMATICALLY AND THE BACK TIRES HAVE WORN DOWN ON THE INSIDES ONLY, WHICH WASN'T SEEN UNTIL THE TIRES WERE ROTATED IN SEPTEMBER. NOW THAT THE TIRES HAVE BEEN ROTATED THE TIRES THAT WERE REMOVED FROM THE BACK AND PUT ON THE FRONT ARE NOW WEARING DOWN, LIKE THE ONES THAT WERE IN THE FRONT DID. I HAVE CONTACTED CONTINENTAL TIRE WHO SAYS THE PROBLEM BELONGS TO FORD AND FORD SAYS THE PROBLEM IS THE TIRE COMPANIES PROBLEM. WE OWN A 2007 FORD EDGE AND DURING OUR TRIP THIS PAST WEEKEND HAD TWO OF THE FOUR VALVE STEMS GO BAD ON US AND CAUSE THE SENSOR TO ACTIVATE. WHEN WE CHECKED EACH TIME WE FOUND THAT THE STEMS HAD "SPLIT" AND AIR WAS COMING OUT CAUSING FLAT TIRES. THE FIRST EVENT WAS ON THE 30TH OF JULY ON OUR WAY TO DESTINATION AND THE SECOND WAS ON THE 2ND OF AUGUST ON OUR WAY BACK HOME. Rear turn signal blubs continue to blow out over and over. Last time I went to replace the bulb had fused to housing. I'm afraid it is going to catch fire. Also tired of buying bulbs every few months to replace burned out ones.

DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT BULB KEEPS GOING OUT. THE SOCKET APPEARS TO BE MELTED/CHARRED. I HAVE HAD THE BULB REPLACED THREE TIMES IN LESS THAN A YEAR. EVERY TIME THE BULB GOES OUT, MY BRAKE LIGHT IS AFFECTED AND I GET PULLED OVER AND ISSUED A FIX-IT TICKET BY THE POLICE.

I WAS DRIVING AND NOTICED MY RIGHT BLINKER FLASHING QUICKLY SO I GOT A NEW REAR RIGHT TURN SIGNAL BULB. WHEN REPLACING THE BULB I NOTICED THAT THE BULB WAS MELTED INTO THE SOCKET. I CHECKED THE OTHER SIDE AND IT WAS CHARRED AND MELTED EVEN WORSE THEN THE BULB THAT WASN'T WORKING. THIS IS VERY SCARY AND A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT COULD START A FIRE AND MY CHILD IS IN THE BACK SEAT!

THIS VEHICLE HAS A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS I AM CONCERNED ABOUT. FIRST, WHEN YOU ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS, REACH SPEEDS OF 30+ MILES PER HOUR, THEN TRY TO ROLL THE WINDOWS UP, IT CREATES A TERRIBLE VACUUM PRESSURE INSIDE OF THE CAR. THIS PRESSURE ALWAYS MAKES MY EARS HURT, AND I BELIEVE MAY BE DAMAGING MY EARDRUMS. I FIND IT DISTURBING THAT AS A CONSUMER, I CAN NOT ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS OF MY CAR IN ACCLIMATE WEATHER, BECAUSE OF THE PRESSURE THAT IS CREATED INSIDE OF THE CAR WHEN I DO SO. THE FIRST TIME WAS ON JAN 14, 2012. THE SWITCH UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT OUT, LEFT ME STRANDED. NOW THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS BAD. The contact stated that the vehicle would not immediately accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. On several occasions, the transmission failed to shift into the proper gear, causing the vehicle to stall. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated in LIMP Mode. MY BLINKER LIGHT STARTED BLINKING REALLY FAST AND I KNEW THAT THAT INDICTATED THAT I HAD A BULB OUT. I SAW THAT IT WAS THE REAR LEFT AND PURCHASED A NEW BULB FOR IT. I SEARCHED ONLINE FOR HOW TO CHANGE THE BULB PROPERLY AND FOUND SEVERAL VIDEOS FOR HOW TO DO IT BUT THEY ALL SHOWED THAT THE BULB SOCKET HAD OVERHEATED AND WAS BURNT. SURE ENOUGH, WHEN I OPENED UP MINE TO CHANGE THE BULB, THE SOCKET THAT HOLDS THE BULB IS BURNT AND THE THE BULB WAS PARTIALLY MELTED INTO THE SOCKET. I CHECKED OTHER SIDE AND IT IS THE SAME THING. THE SOCKET IS BURNT AND CHARRED AND THE BULB IS STUCK IN IT. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN OVERHEATING ISSUE AND I'M CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.

THE REAR TAIL LIGHT SOCKET ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS EXTREMELY CHARRED. THE LIGHT BULB ON THAT SIDE HAS FAILED 5 TIMES OVER 7 YEARS, CLEARLY FROM OVERHEATING, CAUSING LOSS OF BRAKE LIGHT AND TURN LIGHT. THE OTHER SIDE HAS NEVER FAILED BUT SHOWS EARLY SIGNS OF OVERHEATING.

WHEN OPERATING THE TURN SIGNALS IN EITHER DIRECTION THE REAR LIGHT WOULD NOT WORK INTERMITTENTLY AT FIRST, AND THEN PERMANENTLY. UPON PULLING THE REAR BULB HOUSING, I NOTICED THE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT SOCKET WAS BURNT IN APPEARANCE. OPON TRYING TO REMOVE THE BULBS, ONE OF THE RETAINING TABS ON ONE SIDE BROKE OFF. INSIDE THE SOCKETS (BOTH SIDES) WERE FULL OF WHITISH CORROSION. THE MAIN ISSUE HERE IS TWOFOLD: IF YOU LOOK ONLINE ON THE FORD EDGE FORUM, YOU WILL SEE MANY, MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. SECONDLY, THIS PRESENTS A FIRE AND DRIVING HAZARD. KEEP IN MIND MY WIFE'S CAR DOES NOT EVEN HAVE 70,000 MILES ON IT YET AND IS GARAGE KEPT. SHE DOES NOT RIDE THE BRAKES AND TURN SIGNALS ARE USED AS OFTEN AS NEEDED...HAZARDS HARDLY EVER USED. I'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR 2 NEW SOCKETS AND BULBS WITH NO GUARANTEE IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN.

SUBSEQUENTLY, THE SERVICE PROVIDER REPLACED ALL THE SPARK PLUGS AND TWO COILS. THE CAR WAS NOT FIXED AND IT WAS FURTHER DETERMINED THAT THE PCM BOARD IS SENDING EXTREMELY HIGH CURRENT TO THE IGNITION COILS AND COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ENGINE FIRE. THIS IS VERY DISTRESSING. FORD HAS ISSUED AN INTERNAL TSB ACKNOWLEDGING THIS ISSUE BUT HAS NOT ENACTED A RECALL. THE ESTIMATED COST TO REPLACE THE PCM, SPARK PLUGS AND COILS (6) IS APPROXIMATELY $3,000. The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light remained illuminated, and there was fluid leaking from the radiator. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the water pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact stated that the water pump was previously replaced on two separate occasions. The failure mileage was 125,000.

LET ME FIRST START OF BY SAYING THAT I GET MY CAR SERVICED ON TIME, EVERY TIME. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN SHAKING BADLY. NOTICED THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I FILED THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT (10680995) ON FEBRUARY 3RD, BUT I WANTED TO EDIT OR UPDATE IT, BUT COULDN'T FIND THE WAY, SO I AM TAKING THE LIBERTY TO POST A NEW ONE. IT HAS BEEN 2 AND A HALF MONTHS SINCE THE INCIDENT AND AS A DISGRACE IT HAS NOT BEEN POSSIBLE FOR THE FORD DEALER IN CENTRAL AMERICA TO GET THE COMPUTER MODULE PART. CAN YOU IMAGINE THIS AMOUNT OF TIME WITHOUT YOUR VEHICLE, SPECIALLY IF IT IS YOUR WORKING TOOL? THE FOLLOWING WAS MY STATEMENT IN THE FIRST REPORT: "I HAVE A 2007 FORD EDGE WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE TO DATE. THIS IS USUALLY MY FAMILY CAR, DRIVEN BY MY WIFE. WE LIVE IN GUATEMALA AND DROVE TO A HOUSE ON THE BEACH, THAT IS ABOUT 100 MILES AWAY. ON JANUARY FIRST WHEN WE WERE RETURNING I STARTED THE CAR AND NOTICED A SHAKE AND SPUTTER, AND I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS PROBABLY A DEFECTIVE SPARK PLUG. I MANAGED TO DRIVE OUT OF WHERE WE WERE AND AS SOON AS WE GOT TO THE MAIN HIGHWAY I HAD TO STOP AND CALL FOR A TOW. THE SHAKING AND SPUTTERING WERE FRIGHTENING. THE SHOP I TOOK IT TO SAYS THAT AT LEAST 3 IGNITION COILS NEED TO BE REPLACED AND ARE NOT SURE IF THE PCM ALSO HAS TO BE REPLACED. UNFORTUNATELY, SINCE THERE ARE PARTS STOCK PROBLEM HERE, I HAD TO WAIT ALMOST A MONTH TO GET THE PARTS AND NOW THAT I HAVE THEM (THE COILS) I STILL HAVE TO WAIT TO SEE WHAT THE REAL PROBLEM IS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER IN THE REGION TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE. I HAD TO REPORT THIS AS IT IS NOT A UNIQUE PROBLEM TOBUYERS IN THE US, ALSO ABROAD". WE DECIDED TO BUY A SMALL 36"X30"X18" CARGO BAG (CLOTH) TO PUT A FEW ITEMS IN & CARRY ON THE ROOF. FIVE MINUTES INTO THE TRIP ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE HOV LANE WE HEARD A LOUD SNAP NOISE & THE ENTIRE ROOF RACK BROKE OFF WITH OUR CARGO BAG & WENT FLYING OFF BEHIND US IN EARLY AM RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC NEARLY CAUSING A CAR ACCIDENT. I LEFT THE CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR 30 MINUTES - WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON THE WRENCH ICON WAS OFF AND THE CAR RAN FINE. UPON A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET I HAVE FOUND I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE. P0301 misfire in the engine and P0201 fuel injecter both should be recalled on all 2007 Ford edges as me and another lady both wrecked hitting a small poles and the business owners was nice and said to make it home safely since there was no damage. I have done plenty of research and Ford is refusing to do any recalls on the spark plugs in the engine and the fuel injecter. Please recalls those so no one gets seriously hurt from it.

EVERY TIME WE RECEIVED ONE WE HAVE CONTACTED (3) NEARBY FORD DEALERSHIPS IN GRAND RAPIDS, EVERY DEALERSHIP FOR THE PAST YEAR CONTINUES TO INFORM US THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND SERVICES AND TO CALL BACK IN A MONTH. EVERY MONTH FOR THE PAST YEAR WE HAVE CALLED - STILL NO PARTS! WE ARE AWARE THIS CAR CAME FROM FLORIDA FROM OUR REPORT, WHICH WE PURCHASED IN MICHIGAN. TODAY, OCTOBER 26TH, 2018 RECEIVED THE SETTLEMENT CLAIM. IT STATES WE CANNOT BE APART OF THE CLAIMS BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT SERVICED OUR VEHICLE YET. TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF THE DRIVER. WHILE THE DRIVER WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO HIS RESIDENCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO BEST FORD LINCOLN (579 AMHERST ST, NASHUA, NH 03063, (603) 889-0161) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. TAKATA RECALL. IT'S BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS THAT WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE AIRBAG PARTS AND NO REPLACEMENT. THIS IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE AND IT IS A GREAT INCONVENIENCE. WE NEED A LOANER CAR UNTIL THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE.

NO ONE HAS PARTS TO FIX THE RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. MY TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AT 40 MILES PER HOUR AND 75 MILES PER HOUR. THE PROBLEM STARTED 10 MONTHS AGO AND SEEMS TO BE WORSE. I'VE LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE THE MAJOR COMPLAINT WITH THESE VEHICLES. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES AT AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 45 MPH I EXITED OFF A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY (EXIT 1, RTE. 93N IN NEW HAMPSHIRE). UPON SLOWING, I FELT A SKIP AND THE CAR BECAME UNRESPONSIVE TO MY ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE TO COMPLETE THE EXIT . AN ODOMETER ERROR APPEARED ON MY DASH ALONG WITH THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT AND THE REPAIR WRENCH SYMBOL. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING ON THE OPEN HIGHWAY IN THE KIND OF TRAFFIC I WAS EXPERIENCING, I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A HIGH SPEED ACCIDENT. AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE FOR 30 MINUTES, I RESTARTED MY VEHICLE AND RETURNED HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. TO DATE MY EDGE HAS BEEN VERY RELIABLE. I HAVE ENJOYED THE EDGE'S PERFORMANCE; BUT, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED TO NUMEROUS OTHER EDGE OWNERS. 2007 FORD EDGE HAS BEEN SHIFTING GEARS HEAVY (ESPECIALLY LOW) AND GETTING WORSE. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW COIL AND POWER CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

AFTER PULLING OUT ONTO A HIGHWAY, MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE DIDN'T STOP BUT PRESSING GAS DID NOT HELP. WAS FORCED TO COAST TO SIDE, CAR SHUDDERED, THEN STALLED. AFTER WAITING A FEW, CAR STARTED. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT A MILE TO A NEARBY REPAIR SHOP. WE WERE CALLED AND ADVISED IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND DUE TO MILES ON THE CAR, IT SHOULD BE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP (UNDER WARRANTY). FORD SERVICE COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. WE WERE TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG & TO PICK IT UP. PRIOR TO PICKING UP, WE FOUND A TSB THAT DESCRIBED WHAT WE HAD BUT WERE TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. MAY 2013, CAR DID SAME BUT THIS TIME, THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. TOWED (TO ANOTHER FORD SERVICE DEALER),& ISSUE WAS FOUND. REPAIR MADE. NOT SURPRISINGLY, ISSUE WAS SAME TSB WE PULLED IN 2011. 7 MONTHS LATER, CAR SHUDDERED, & STALLED AGAIN. ONLY DIFFERENCE WITH THIS OCCURRENCE IS NOW THE ENGINE DIED. TOWED BACK TO DEALER. WAS INFORMED IT WAS THE PCM OR MAIN COMPUTER WHICH CAUSED THE IGNITION COILS TO BURN UP. SO, IN SHORT, OWNING THIS CAR FOR 2 YEARS, HAVING TOWED 3 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE, ALL IN 3 EXTREMELY UNSAFE CONDITIONS, HAS LEFT ME WITH NO CHOICE BUT TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THIS COMPUTER SOFTWARE ISSUE IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND BASED ON OTHER COMMENTS FOUND ONLINE, FORD IS NOT WILLING TO TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT WHAT COULD BE A SADDENING FATAL SITUATION. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT FORD IS NOT COOPERATIVE IN RESOLVING THE PROBLEM. IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE YET NO RECALL HAS BEEN MADE. I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY FREEWAY IN MORNING TRAFFIC AND WENT TO ACCELERATE TO CHANGE LANES B/C EXIT WAS COMING UP - NOTICED TRUCK JUST DIDN'T SOUND RIGHT. I FLOORED IT AND THE RPM'S SHOT UP TO OVER 4,000 BUT MY SPEED STAYED AT AROUND 70. I TAPPED THE BRAKES AND THE RPMS DROPPED TO RIGHT ABOVE 0 AND MY TRUCK STARTED SLOWING WAY DOWN QUICK AND I TRIED GIVING IT MORE GAS BUT WOULDN'T GO. THEN IT STARTED SHAKING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY IN THE 2ND LANE FROM OUTSIDE SHOULDER AND WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER MY TRUCK TO THE SHOULDER AND TURN IT OFF TO WAIT FOR THE TOW TRUCK. HAD MY MECHANIC CHECK IT OUT AND HE SAID THE COMPUTER HAS MALFUNCTIONED (POSSIBLY COMPLETELY GONE OUT - WAITING ON HIM TO CHECK IT OUT TODAY) AND CAUSED THE #4 CYLINDER NOT TO HAVE ANY POWER AND THAT COIL IS BURNED. I HAVE NO WARRANTY ON MY TRUCK AS I BOUGHT IT A LITTLE OVER 2YRS AGO AS CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH NEITHER THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON DRIVER DOOR NOR THE PUSH BUTTON ON MY KEY FOB. ALL OTHER DOORS WILL LOCK. SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED WAS ON HIGHWAY AT @60MPH WHEN SAME THING HAPPENS, GET OFF HIGHWAY AND STOP AT 2ND RED LIGHT WHEN THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE AT ALL. LET CAR SIT FOR @10 MIN. THEN IT STARTS GOING @10MPH, AFTER ABOUT 1 MILE RESUMES NORMAL OPERATION. HAVE BROUGHT TO LOCAL FORD DEALER AND HAD 2 SENSORS REPLACED ALONG WITH A TRANSMISSION FLUID EXCHANGE BUT NOW TODAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN I STOPPED AT BUSY BACK ROAD INTERSECTION THEN TRIED TO RESUME SPEED THE VEH. WOULD NOT MOVE. E-MAILED LOCAL FORD DEALER TO LET THEM KNOW THAT ISSUE WAS HAPPENING ONCE AGAIN AFTER SENSORS WERE REPLACED. PRIOR TO FORD ALSO HAD SEARS LOOK AT VEH. WHERE THEY DETERMINED IT WAS A SENSOR BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE WHICH ONE. NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS BACK TO ME IT ALSO SEEMS TO HAVE ALOT OF HESITATION ON WANTING TO GO. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER SEEMED TO BE THE BEST TRANSMISSION AND I HAVE A BIG CONCERN ABOUT HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO SOMEBODY WHO KEEPS DRIVING IT WITHOUT GETTING OFF THE ROAD? I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY, MYSELF, OTHERS WHO OWN THIS VEHICLE, AND OTHERS ON THE ROADWAY AROUND THESE VEHICLES WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM. THE POSTS I KEEP SEEING ALL REFLECT THE SAME ISSUE AND ALL TOO OFTEN THEY ARE TOLD THAT THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, WILL IT TAKE A MAJOR ACCIDENT OR DEATH FOR THIS CONCERN TO BE ADDRESSED? THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO AND ALL THE MILEAGE INFORMATION WENT BLANK. THE FRONT AIRBAG LIGHT, SERVICE WRENCH AND SHORTLY THERE AFTER THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LIGHT CAME ON. I EXITED THE FREEWAY AND AFTER STOPPING FOR THE TRAFFIC LIGHT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, BUT MOVED SLOWLY APPARENTLY STUCK IN THE HIGH GEARS. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT UP OR DOWN. THE NEXT STOP LIGHT THE SAME PROBLEM. I PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND RECYCLED THE IGNITION AND THE MILEAGE INFORMATION RETURNED. The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH and attempting to depress the brake pedal, there was an abnormal clicking and popping sound coming from the brakes. No warning light was illuminated. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed and it was determined that the wheel bearings and the brakes were loose on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 162,000.

# 1. Brakes - There is a known brake issue with these vehicles. The brakes started making a loud hissing noise and we were almost unable to stop the vehicle and ended up in the middle of an intersection. This could have caused an accident and needs to be recalled. There was no warning, messages, or signs before this happened. These are the parts the repair shop and Ford dealership said needed to be replaced: Power Brake Booster, Hydraulic Control Unit, and Master Cylinder. #2 - Transmission - The car began to shake when trying to climb up a small hill and it also started to shake on the interstate. There were no warnings or messages that appeared.

I HAVE REPLACED THE PTU IN MY 07 FORD EDGE A FEW YEARS BACK THAT THE DEALERSHIP THEMSELVES TOLD ME THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ON IT BECAUSE OF THE POOR DESIGN FOR $500. NOW I AM HAVING TO REPLACE THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER BECAUSE I WOULD BE DRIVING AND HEAR A HISSING NOISE WHEN BRAKING OR MY BRAKES WOULD GET REALLY FIRM. I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 40 MPH ON A STATE HIGHWAY WHEN SPUTTERING AND VIBRATION ISSUES STARTED WITH 2007 FORD EDGE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. STILL DROVE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC WHICH STATED COIL BURNED OUT AND SENT SURGE OF POWER TO THE PCM. MECHANIC STATED DESIGN OF PCM WOULDN'T STOP THE FIRING OF COIL AND NOT TO DRIVE VEHICLE ANY FURTHER OR IT WILL BURN TO THE GROUND. MECHANIC STATED ONLY THE FORD DEALERSHIP CAN INSTALL A NEW ONE AND REST THE CAR TO GET IT RUNNING. TOWED VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THEY HAVE A TSB ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE PCM AND ALL 6 COILS BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL MELTED. FORD DEALERSHIP STATED THIS WAS AN ON GOING PROBLEM DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN OF THE PCM THAT WHEN A COIL BURNS OUT (COMMON WEAR AND TEAR AND $100 TO $200 FIX) THE PCM DOESN'T STOP FIRING TO THE COILS WHICH COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO CATCH FIRE. ESTIMATE TO FIX THE PCM AND ALL SIX COILS WAS $2,958. REASON FOR COMPLAINT - I UNDERSTAND WEAR AND TEAR ON A VEHICLE, BUT DUE TO A DESIGN ISSUE IN THE FORD/MERCURY/LINCOLN PCM, IT CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND REPAIR TO THE CAR AND POTENTIAL TO BURN TO THE GROUND. $100 FIX WITH PROPER DESIGN AND NOW $2,958 DUE TO PCM ISSUE. A QUICK SEARCH ON THE INTERNET WILL REVEAL NUMEROUS OWNERS HAVE AND ARE EXPERIENCING THIS EXACT ISSUE. THE SOCKET THAT PLUGS INTO THE BRAKE LIGHT PIGTAIL (ON BOTH SIDES) IS BURNT AND ACTUALLY MELTED. when i bought my car on [XXX] I drove it home from Hooksett NH from Alfa Car dealership tire pressure light came on battery light and the check engine light all came on and when I stopped and turned the car off all lights went off. I owned the car for two days and all of a sudden my car would not start it was fine went to drop my dog off and the car wouldn't start for a few hours this happened. When driving white smoke came out of the rear and I had an oil in the car. The car completely dies in the middle of the road and doesn't start all the oil is gone and there is a hole through my engine. 1. My 2007 Ford Edge lost the use of my accelerometer pedal without any warning, while driving. The pedal collapsed to the floor. The engine continued to run. A wrench image appeared on the dashboard. After towing to service station the gas pedal worked again. No codes could be determined during TWO diagnostic procedures. After the first mechanics could not determine or diagnose a problem, nor replicate the problem, I had it towed to my local Ford Dealership. My alternator keep draining my new batteries from to much electrical pull and turns off all my digital dash and says my brake system is in failure and there is something wrong with the suspension in the front end even though I have had it fixed and the same problem has returned . I had my battery explode. The transmission jerks whenever it shifts and the transmission fluid is full and I maintain it on a regular basis. It is driven in town only. I am scared of it catching on fire now since I just saw that it is still has a recall that has not been repaired and I bought it used and I was told all recalls were taken care of. I have my grandchildren in this vehicle weekly. I want to see about getting this looked at and repaired correctly. I fear for my safety.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had to pump the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the brake booster to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. I bought the vehicle used and I was told that it ran fine and there were no issues with the automobile. And then it started having warning issue lights and then I started having problems with steering and holding in the road and it begain popping when I turn the vehicle to the left . And then the recall with the fuel tank I am scared of the vehicle and I do carry children in it. The used car lot I got it from will not do an inspection on it. On 11/7-22, I stopped at a major traffic light on my way to work and when the traffic light turned green and I motioned to drive forward, I noticed my car had stalled and proceeded to roll backwards in traffic. I quickly placed my foot on the gas pedal to move forward, however my car continued to roll backwards, almost hitting the vehicle behind me. So I immediately put on my emergency lights and pressed the brakes repeatedly, however my brakes were frozen (hard) and did not stop my car from rolling backwards. After several minutes, my car stopped rolling backwards and I was able to restart it and slowly drive off the major highway to get assistance. When driving off the highway my car was moving extremely slow and rough. Since the incident, my car have not been inspected or repaired by a mechanic. Prior to this incident, my car have stalled out at stops and while driving but never rolled backwards or lost brake control.

I BOUGHT A 2007 FORD EDGE IN JULY OF 2018. LESS THEN 2 MONTHS LATER MY PCM HAS GONE BAD BURNING UP ALL 6 COIL PACKS IN MY EDGE. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLENTIN ON THE PCM AND COIL PACKS, BUT WAS TOLD NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE ISSUE TO PUT OUT A RECALL. I CAN NOT AFFORD OVER $2000.00 TO HAVE THIS FIXED. FORD IS AWARE THAT IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART AND I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON IT. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF 6 LANES OF TRAFFIC DURING RUSH HOUR AND THE SUV JUST LOST POWER. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2016 WITH A OPEN RECALL, THE DEALERSHIP FAILED TO INFORM ME ABOUT OR FIX PRIOR TO SELLING IT. I WAS PULING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE ONE LATE AFTERNOON AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE FORWARD AND NOTICED THAT IT WAS REVING VERY LOUDLY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS BARELY MOVING. WHENEVER I WOULD COME TO A LIGHT AND STOP OR SLOW DOWN TO TURN AND THEN TRY TO INCREASE MY SPEED I NOTICED THAT IT WOULD BE REVING SO LOUDLY AND BARELY MOVING AT FIRST, BUT THEN AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS IT WOULD START TO MOVE A LITTLE FASTER - BUT NOT AS FAST AS IT USUALLY MOVES WHEN I PUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. BAD ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY AND IT'S SENSOR. THIS IS A COMMON AND COSTLY REPAIR WITH FORD VEHICLES BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED A RECALL. IT IS DANGEROUS AS IT CAUSES YOUR VEHICLE TO COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHEN ACCELERATING OR RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. FORD DEALER HAS MY 2007 FORD EDGE DUE TO IT STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON A HIGHWAY CAUSING MY ENGINE TO DIE SO I HAD TO GET TOWED HOME AND OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY BUT THEY HAVE NOW DETERMINED THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. INSTEAD IT IS THE PCM WHICH IS COSTING ME OVER $1500, IF THAT EVEN FIXES THIS. PLUS I HAVE BEEN PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR BECAUSE THE DEALERS DON'T HAVE FREE LOANER VEHICLES. SO THIS WHOLE THING IS GOING TO COST ME ABOUT $2000. NOW I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM, AND CAN CLEARLY TELL THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR INSTEAD IT IS A FAULTY PART THAT SO MANY OTHER OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING. I CLEARLY SEE FORD HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD BE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MISTAKE. A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR FAILED (PER MY MECHANIC), CAUSING THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS TO MALFUNCTION. IT BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP THE CAR, WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL PULSING AND TRAVELING NEARLY TO THE FLOORBOARD. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP THE CAR JUST BEFORE RUNNING A RED LIGHT BY STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE PADS WERE AT ~50% PER A RECENT STATE INSPECTION. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 2015 WHEN ANOTHER WHEEL SPEED SENSOR FAILED WITH MY WIFE AND CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME. I WAS ABLE TO TEMPORARILY RESOLVE THE ISSUE BY PULLING THE ABS FUSE TO DISABLE THE ABS SYSTEM. FORD'S R&M ENGINEERS MUST HAVE FORGOTTEN TO PERFORM A FAILURE MODE ANALYSIS ON THE EDGE'S ABS SYSTEM.

WHILE TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF 60 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY, I LOST ALL POWER TO MY EDGE. THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0, MILEAGE BLANKED OUT, AND I HAD THE AIR BAG, WRENCH & LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS CAME ON. WHEN YOU WOULD GO FROM PARK TO REVERSE OR FROM PARK TO DRIVE, THERE WOULD BE A BIG CLUNKING NOISE AND NO ACCELERATION. WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED YOU COULD TURN THE CAR OFF AND IT WOULD RESET AFTER A FEW MINUTES. NOW YOU HAVE TO UNHOOKED THE BATTERY CABLES AND REPLACE THEM, BUT THIS ONLY LASTS FOR A WHILE. WEVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS. THE OTHER DAY WE NOTICED A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE AROUND THE CAR. UPON CHECKING WE NOTICED THE FUEL TANK LEAKING FROM AROUND A SEEM. WHEN I STARTED CHECKING AROUND FOR A REPLACEMENT TANK I NOTICED A RECALL ON 2008 FORD EDGE. MY CAR WAS BUILT IN AUGUST OF 07. THEY DESCRIBED THE SAME PROBLEM CAUSED BY CONTAMINATION NEAR A DIMPLE AT A SEEM. THE SAME TANK IS ON THE 07, 08 AND 09 EDGE. WHEN I CHECKED WITH FORD THEY SAID MY CAR WASN'T UNDER RECALL. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE BECAUSE OF THE SAME TANKS ON THE 07, 08 AND 09 MODELS PLUS ITS A SAFETY HAZZARD AS I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR AND THE COST TO FIX IT IS OVER $2,000.00. FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO RECALL ALL MODELS FROM 07 ON AND CORRECT THIS PROBLEM AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. EIGHT MONTHS LATER, SEPTEMBER 22, 2013 AND 57,000 MILES, SAME PROBLEM, THE HEATER & DEFROSTER WERE NOT WORKING. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A WELL KNOW AUTO SHOP WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT AN IGNITION COIL WAS BURNED AND THE REASON MY CAR STALLED. I HAD THE IGNITION COIL REPLACED AND THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT RESTART. I HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE CRANK SHAFT AND CAM SHAFT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I PAID FOR THESE SERVICES AND FINALLY WAS TOLD THE COMPUTER ON THE CAR WAS BURNED AND THIS IS THE REASON THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT START. FINALLY MY CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO FORD AND I AM AWAITING ITS FATE. DECEMBER 3RD WE TOOK IT BACK TO OUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON FOR THE 7TH TIME NOW, AND THE FORD HOTLINE HAD THEM CHECKING ALL CRASH SENSORS, THE RIGHT AXEL SEAL WAS LEAKING OIL AS WELL AND THE PART WAS ORDERED TO FIX. TOOK THE CAR BACK ON THE 16TH AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY "FIXED" ALL PROBLEMS! TWO DAYS LATER THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS BACK ON FOR THE 8TH TIME AND FORD HAS HAD MY CAR SINCE THEN. IT IS NOW JANUARY 2010 AND THEY STILL ARE WORKING ON THE AIR BAG ISSUE..HEADQUARTERS HAS BEEN CONTACTED BUT DOESN'T SEEM TO DO US ANY GOOD. THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND WE WERE TOLD THAT IT FINALLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM BUT AN HOUR LATER WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATING THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON FOR THE 9TH TIME NOW AND IS CURRENTLY AWAITING ANOTHER PART TO BE REPLACED! MY WIFE AND I BOTH DRIVE FORD EDGE CROSSOVER SUV'S. BOTH CARS HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM. WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING SLOWLY & GOT TO PUT ON THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES MAKE A TERRIBLE LOUD GRABBING NOISE & THE CAR KIND OF SKIPS TO A STOP. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, BUT FORD REFUSES TO DO A RECALL. THE FORD SERVICE REP. AT THE DEALERSHIP I GO TO IS TRYING TO TELL ME THAT THIS IS HOW THE BRAKES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE. THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS TECH INTERNATIONAL VALVE STEMS, MODEL TR413. ON JULY 16, 2008, WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE TIRES BLEW OUT. THE CONTACT MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND REPLACED THE TIRE WITH A SPARE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DISCOUNT TIRE AND THE MECHANIC INFORMED HIM THAT ALL FOUR OF THE VALVE STEMS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE MECHANIC ALSO STATED THAT THE VALVE STEMS WERE INCLUDED IN A RECALL. TECH INTERNATIONAL STATED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY REIMBURSE THE CONTACT FOR REPAIRING THE TIRES IF THEY HAD BEEN REPLACED INSTEAD OF THE ORIGINALS. THEY ADVISED HIM TO CONTACT FORD. FORD CONFIRMED THAT THEY WERE THE ORIGINAL TIRES AND WOULD BE UNABLE TO REIMBURSE HIM BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT THE MANUFACTURERS OF THE TIRES. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REIMBURSE HIM BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT THE MANUFACTURERS OF THE VALVE STEM. THE SERIAL AND PART NUMBERS WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE STOPPED ON THE INTERSTATE, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING BETWEEN 30 AND 50 MPH. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED BECAUSE THE DRIVER'S SEAT DETACHED FROM THE TRACK AND PUSHED THE CONTACT INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,300.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER FOR THREE WEEKS TO REPAIR THE SEAT. THE BOLTS IN THE SEAT WERE VISIBLE AND INJURED ONE OF THE PASSENGERS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SCREWS AND COVERED THEM WITH A RUBBER SEAL; HOWEVER, THEY CONTINUE TO FALL OFF AND EXPOSE THE SCREWS. AT 150 MILES, THE LINING IN THE MOONROOF FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER. SIX MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD GRINDING SOUND WHEN HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE CORRODED. THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED AND THE ROTORS WERE CLEANED. THE FRONT AND REAR WINDOWS DO NOT GRIP OR SEAL PROPERLY WHEN THEY ARE ROLLED UP OR DOWN. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE WINDOW FAILURE ON FOUR OCCASIONS AND EVENTUALLY STATED THAT THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE PAPER ON THE ROLLERS. THE TWO REAR EXTERIOR LIGHTS CONTINUE TO FILL UP WITH WATER. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE ON THREE OCCASIONS AND REPLACED THE TAIL LIGHTS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THERE SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FAILURE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE GEAR SHIFT FAILED TO ENGAGE IN PARK, DRIVE, AND REVERSE. A PASSENGER HAD TO STOP TRAFFIC SINCE THE GEAR SHIFT WAS LOCKED IN REVERSE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON FEBRUARY 20, 2008; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE EARLIEST THEY COULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WOULD BE ON MARCH 1, 2008. THE FAILURE OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY AND HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP EVERY OTHER WEEK SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. THE CONTACT IS THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THE DEALER HAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE IN REPLACING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO ONLY HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED BY A DEALER THAT IS ONE OR MORE HOURS AWAY FROM HER RESIDENCE.
