I took my 2010 ford edge to have a air bag recall repaired. The air bag was fixed, the air bag light cleared. I drove about 3 miles home and the light reappeared, I checked the code and it was B2293-03 air bag fault. My wife called right away and told them the light came on and the car can't be inspected until it's clear. They told my wife it would be $200 to take a look at a repair they literally just took their hands off of. All I want is this safety feature fixed right without the $200 fee which is crazy when I just picked it up.

Vehicle is in St Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Vehicle has two recalls for airbags due. Our local Ford dealership (Metro Motors) states they do not perform safety recalls on vehicles.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. Additionally, the passenger's side air bag light failed to illuminate while a passenger was seated in the passenger's side front seat. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

There is a noise coming from the interior of my car, near the brakes that makes a high pitched noise and is causing the brake to feel a bit hard when pressed. It is believed that the brake booster has malfunctioned. There is a customer satisfaction program listed as 13N02 in regard to the extended warranty coverage for brake boosters. Is my vehicle eligible to be covered on this warranty?

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving into an apartment complex parking lot, the brake pedal was depressed but felt stiff and failed to travel downward. The contact was unable to stop the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle drove over the curb, crashed into two HVAC units located in front of the apartment building, and the vehicle stopped. The contact was in shock and unintentionally turned off the vehicle while the vehicle was in drive(D). The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained whiplash and trauma. The contact received assistance from emergency units but refused to be taken to the hospital. A police report was filed. A mobile mechanic diagnosed that the brake booster had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the front grill of the vehicle was damaged due to the collision. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided and transferred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle made an abnormal clanging sound, jerked, and hesitated to respond. The contact contacted other unknown dealers who also advised her the failure was unserviceable and the entire transfer unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. I was driving home in my 2010 Ford Edge that has150,000 miles on it at the speed of 55 mph when it stopped accelerating and then just shut down. It did not overheat, there were no alarms, alerts or lights that went off on the car. After coasting to the side of the road I got out and looked under the hood of my car I noticed that the antifreeze was leaking. My husband was able to add anti freeze to the vehicle and we drove home and parked it until we could find a mechanic that could figure out what happened. I called mechanics in the area and explained what happened. The local mechanics we spoke to stated that it sounded like the water pump went and that they were not comfortable doing the repair due to the amount of labor required. I found a mechanic willing to work on my truck and had my Ford Edge towed to his shop. After looking it over I was told the water pump leaked into the engine which the dealership said was catastrophic and that I needed a whole new engine and water pump. The technician said it may have been leaking into the engine for several days without warning. A water pump should be a simple repair, however the way that it happened caused engine failure and requires an entire engine replacement. My truck no longer functions or operates in any capacity. I believe this engine failure was the direct result of the location of the water pump which was "internally" in the engine. This is a poor vehicle design and a safety concern for Ford. Total cost for this repair is $8,300. At this time the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacture, police or insurance representatives.

We take good care of our cars and we do all required maintenance and oil changes but we are now facing a water pump failure that caused my engine to fail without any warring. On Wednesday March 9th I was passing a Semi Truck on a County Road and I heard a pop then lost all power and smoke came from under my hood. I had a guarding angel with me that day because there was another Semi truck approaching me in the passing lane and both Semi trucks slowed way down so that I was able to pull over. I saw my life flash before my eyes. This repair is going to cost us $4,700.00 or more if they should find any additional damage to my engine once they get all the parts to fix the car. How can a modern day car cost $4,700.00 to fix a water pump that caused the engine failure and overheat without A SINGLE WARNING!!! It seems like maybe Ford should look into recommending or insist that these internal WATER pumps be serviced/replaced at a reasonable mileage point maybe 80,000 or 100,000 miles to prevent a catastrophic loss. Water pumps will never out last an engine so getting them replaced early would help protect the engine and other damage that could happen. Just 8 days before my engine failed my car was in a Ford dealership garage for Oil Change, a cooling system flushing, belts and spark plugs replaced, not sure why at that time there was not something said about replacing the water pump? I know that The Ford Company is well aware of this issue so why would this information not be passed along to all dealership so that the service/maintenance garage personal know what to do to prevent this from happening. I would like to help prevent this issue from happening to anyone else. Next time someone might die, I almost did because of the engine failure on a simple water pump .

8.16.21was driving home, no lights, no warnings, no smoke nothing no indication of any kind and I lost all power to operate the vehicle. I was unable to start the car and up to this point car was running fine, had car towed to local mechanic after inspecting the car mechanic found water pump blew up and pully ruptured filling my entire engine with coolant and now I am out of a car due to the engine being destroyed. After extensive reviewing it appears this is a known issue with the 2007-2010 Ford Edges and Ford has yet to step up to the plate and address this known issue. Look on Facebook under Ford Motor Company and see how many other owners are having this issue. How can you run a business knowing this happens and then not being able to back it up by fixing the issue. I could have had another 4-5 years with my car and now I have to have burden and cost of finding a new car due to negligence on Fords part. I truly enjoyed my Ford Edge however in the future I will no longer drive any type of Ford car or Lincoln knowing this is how you treat known issues. I'm just glad it was not -30degrees out and this happened. Shame on Ford. I will also spread the word about this issue and to anyone else thinking of buying a Ford. I have the estimate for a new engine let me know when the check will be in the mail to have my car repaired!!!

WE WERE DRIVING ALONG AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THERE WAS A LOUD POP. IT STARTED OVERHEATING AND IT WAS ALL WE COULD DO TO GET IT BACK TO OUR HOUSE. WE WAS ON A COUNTRY ROAD. IT WAS RUNNING FINR TILL THE LOUD POP.

MY REAR TURN SIGNALS HAVE BEEN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY LATELY AND I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE BULB. WHEN I WENT TO REPLACE THE BULB I NOTICED THAT THE BULB SOCKET APPEARS TO BE BURNT. I IMMEDIATELY WENT ONLINE TO SEE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AND REALIZED THAT THERE ARE A BUNCH OF OTHER FORD EDGES OUT THERE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I FELT IT WAS NECESSARY TO REPORT IT IN CASE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN A FIRE. THE FORD DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW OF ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS, YET WHEN I LOOK ONLINE, I SEE A WHOLE LOT WITH THE SAME ISSUE.

The vehicle was towed to another independent mechanic who confirmed the failure and informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and provided and estimate for a diagnostic test however, the contact declined to have the vehicle diagnosed. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the coolant reservoir was empty, the engine oil dip stick read full, and the oil was discolored. The vehicle was taken to the local service center where the mechanic discovered water in the engine oil. I AM REPORTING A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE WARNING MONITOR SENSOR SYSTEMS ON MY 2010 FORD EDGE. AS YOU MAY KNOW THERE IS A 'DOOR AJAR SENSOR' NOTIFICATION SYSTEM NOTIFYING THE DRIVER OF A DOOR BEING AJAR. THE PROBLEM IS THE SENSOR CONSTANTLY FAILS WHEN THE DOOR IS NOT AJAR OR SEEMS TO NOT BE AJAR. THERE ARE SEVERAL PROBLEMS WHEN THERE IS THE DISPLAY ONE: 'NOT SURE DOORS ARE LOCKED, ESPECIALLY WHEN ONE IS TRANSPORTING CHILDREN. 'CAN NOT LOCK THE CAR DOORS ' THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. ALSO, WITH THE GREAT INCREASE IN 'CAR JACKINGS', NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS MAKES THE FAMILY VERY VULNERABLE. 'NEXT, THE DISPLAY LEAVES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON PUTTING AN UNNECESSARY DRAIN ON THE CAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THIS COULD ADVERSELY SAFETY OF THE OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS CAUSING A FAILURE IN TRAFFIC. 'THE WARNING MESSAGE NEVER TIMES OUT AND COMPLETELY BLOCKS THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY PREVENTING OTHER WARNING MESSAGES OR THE SYSTEM BACK UP OBSERVATION FROM WORKING. FORD HAS KNOWN OF THIS PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL IN ORDER TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY PROBLEM.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRUNK DID NOT RESPOND TO THE KEY FOB. WHEN THE KEY FOB WAS PRESSED, THE TRUNK OPENED AND CLOSED REPEATEDLY. ONCE THE TRUNK WAS CLOSED MANUALLY, THE INTERIOR LIGHTING IN THE VEHICLE REMAINED ILLUMINATED, WHICH DRAINED THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT HAD TO TAKE THE CABLES OFF OF THE BATTERY AT THE END OF EACH DAY TO KEEP THE BATTERY FROM DRAINING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,967.

VEHICLE WAS PARKED...WENT TO START VEHICLE...BRIGHT LIGHT INDICATOR WAS ON DASHBOARD, UNABLE TO MOVE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK UNLESS MANUALLY DONE, WHEN VEHICLE STARTS ALL INDICATORS ON INSTRUMENT PANEL COMES ON, NOTICES UNDER THE COMPUTER OUTPUT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATES A HOST OF PROBLEMS, SO BASICALLY THE COMPUTER HAS FAILED TO SOME NATURE CAUSING ERRORS TO SHOW. HAZARDS DON'T WORK, BRAKE AND TURN SIGNALS DON'T WORK, BUT THE VEHICLE WILL START AT LEAST UNTIL THE BATTERY IS DEAD FROM THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL RUN IT OUT. HAD THIS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY TWICE THIS IS THE THIRD OCCURRENCE WITHOUT DETERMINATION OF PROBLEM. VEHICLE HAS TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR...I BELIEVE RESETTING THE COMPUTER IS THE ONLY OPTION BECAUSE DIAGNOSTICS RUN DO NOT INDICATE A KNOWN PROBLEM. MY BELIEF IS THAT AFTER 3 OCCURRENCES OF THIS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR IS A STRONG ELECTRICAL STORM OCCURRING PRIOR TO THE COMPUTER FAILING. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN HIT BY LIGHTNING, BUT, THERE HAS BEEN HEAVY STRIKES AROUND OR NEAR THE VEHICLE THAT UPSET THE COMPUTER...JURY IS STILL OUT ON MY THEORY, BUT THIS IS WHAT I HAVE OBSERVED. *TR

THE INTERIOR OF MY CAR FILLED WITH GAS FUMES AFTER FILLING THE TANK ON11/4/2019. I CALLED DON HINDS FORD THE NEXT MORNING AND DROPPED IT OFF THAT EVENING. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INSPECTED IT AND FOUND THAT THE GAS TANK WAS LEAKING. THE GAS TANK HAD BEEN REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL JUST 15 MONTHS AGO. FORD REFUSES TO REPLACE, STATING HAT THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. WE HAVE ASKED OUR DEALERSHIP TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS. MY CONCERN IS THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY REPLACED DEFECTIVE GAS TANKS WITH DEFECTIVE GAS TANKS. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SUGGESTED THAT I TAKE IT TO AN "AUTHORIZED FORD SERVICE PROVIDER" EVEN AFTER I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS ALREADY AT A AUTHORIZED FORD SEVICE PROVIDER...EVEN THOUGH MY CAR IS LEAKING GAS AND COULD CATCH FIRE, EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM THAT MY CAR'S INTERIOR WAS FILLED WITH GAS FUMES.

WHILE DRIVE ABOUT 50 MILES PER HOUR ON THE STREET THE WRENCH LIGHT WENT ON THEN OFF. I PULLED UP TO A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE CAR COULD HARDLY MOVE. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO LIMP ALONG UNTIL I GOT TO MY DESTINATION. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND WHEN I CAME BACK AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS IT STARTED AND HAS BEEN DRIVING FINE THE LAST TWO DAYS, FOR NOW. NO WRENCH LIGHT NO POWER PROBLEMS. I'VE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME DESCRIPTION AS MINE. A THROTTLE BODY SEEMS TO BE AT FAULT. APPARENTLY FORD KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE AND DID NOT DO A RECALL. RATHER THEY DID AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT ENDED IN 2015.

WE TURNED IT OFF AND ON AND NOTHING HAPPENED. ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES LATER THE ENGINE STARTED BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. WE WERE ONLY ABLE TO GO ABOUT 2MPH. WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT TO A MECHANICAL SHOP NEARBY. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN THEY PULLED THE VEHICLE IN, THEY EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN THE TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON TO DO MORE TESTS THE CAR WAS WORKING "FINE." THE SHOP INSPECTED IT AND DID NOTE THE POTENTIAL THROTTLE BODY ISSUE BUT AS THE VEHICLE WAS NOW RUNNING IT COULD NOT BE PROPERTY DIAGNOSED. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO A FORD DEALER AND THE SAME INFORMATION WAS GIVEN TO US. WE HAVE CONFIRMED THROUGH FRIENDS WHO HAVE A 2011 FORD THAT THEY RECEIVED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION LETTER FROM FORD NOTING THE ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY AND LOSING ACCELERATION. WHEN FORD CUSTOMER CARE WAS CONTACTED THEY NOTE THE PROBLEM BUT "NOT" WITH OUR YEAR VEHICLE. THE SERVICE PERSONNEL AT FORD HAVE CONFIRMED THIS WILL LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN AND NOTE IT IS A PROBLEM ON OTHER FORD VEHICLES AS WELL AND WE WERE ADVISED TO "DRIVE" IT INTO FORD THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS. Interior driver's side door latch is covered with a metal-like substance which appears to be chrome. The metal has cracked/split along the top of the latch, where the driver places fingers to open the door. The owner/driver of this vehicle was injured by this latch on 6/6/2021, and suffered a finger laceration which required bandaging but not stitches.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that whenever the vehicle was started, there was an abnormally strong gasoline odor inside of the vehicle. The contact stated that whether the vehicle was being driven, idle or parked, the odor was present. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V712000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

The contact’s granddaughter owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that upon exiting the vehicle, his granddaughter noticed a strong gasoline odor. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the bracket had rusted and had caused the gas tank to rust and leak. The independent mechanic also advised the contact that the bracket and gas tank needed to be replaced and that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V712000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and advised the contact that they could not assist since the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. Consumer stated check engine light comes on when the vehicle gets to 1/2 tank of fuel. Original recall issue was prior to 07/2010. Consumer offered to pay for the repair but Ford could not guarantee to repay the consumer.

I CALLED BOTH CANADIAN AND US FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AGAIN THEY ONLY CONFIRMED THAT MY VINE DID NOT APPEAR ON THE LIST. THE RECALL CRITERIA STATES THAT EDGES BUILT BEFORE JULY 2010 ARE PART OF THE RECALL. MY BUILD DATE IS LATE 2009 AND FITS THE CRITERIA. ALSO AMONG THE US STATES AND CANADIAN PROVINCES THAT FIT THE CRITERIA, ONTARIO IS ONE OF THE RECALLED PROVINCES. THIS ALSO QUALIFIES MY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED A USED VEHICLE FROM BROADWAY KIA. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THERE WERE A FEW, WHAT APPEARED TO BE COSMETIC DAMAGES TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE RIM. I ASKED THE SALES PERSON, [XXX] ABOUT THE DAMAGED RIM BECAUSE IT APPEARED TO BE BENT. HE ASSURED ME THAT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND THAT THE TIRE/WHEEL WAS NOT COMPROMISED. APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS LATER THE TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE CAME ON IN THE CAR. I FILLED ALL THE TIRES BECAUSE AT THAT POINT I WAS NOT CERTAIN ANY ONE TIRE WAS LOW. APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS AFTER THAT I HAD TO PUT MORE AIR IN THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. AT THAT POINT I WENT TO A FIRESTONE TIRES TO HAVE THEM REPAIR WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A LEAK. THEY ADVISED THAT THE TIRE COULD NOT BE DISMOUNTED AND REPAIRED BECAUSE THE RIM ITSELF WAS BENT AND CRACKING AND THAT I WOULD NEED AN ENTIRE NEW WHEEL (TIRE AND RIM). AT THAT POINT I EMAILED ONE OF THE MANAGERS AT BROADWAY KIA TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. I WENT IN ON 8/18/13 AND PURCHASED A NEW SET OF TIRES AND RIMS AS I NEEDED TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE. I CONTACTED THE GENERAL MANAGER REGARDING THE ISSUE AND WAS ASKED TO BRING THE CAR IN BUT ONCE HE FOUND OUT THAT I HAD ALREADY PURCHASED NEW RIMS/TIRES HE TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO. I LASTLY ATTEMPTED TO ROTATE THE VEHICLE TIRES WHEN I NOTICED THAT TWO OF THE VEHICLES LUG NUTS WHERE JUST FREE SPINNING ALONG THE WHEEL STUD OR BOLT. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THE LUG NUTS HAD JUST STRIPPED AND WAS IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING THEM WHEN THE ENTIRE LUG NUT AND WHEEL STUDS (BOLT) CAME COMPLETELY OFF THE WHEEL HUB. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE IS ONLY TWO (2) YEARS OLD AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, NOT TO MENTION THAT I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM WITH A VEHICLES WHEEL STUDS. THE WHEEL STUDS ALONG WITH THE LUG NUTS ARE THE COMPONENTS THAT HOLD THE TIRES SECURELY TO THE VEHICLES. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO LOCATE THE VEHICLE AT THE LOCAL PARTS STORES, I SPENT SEVERAL HOURS ON THE WEB TRYING TO FIND THE REPLACEMENT WHEEL STUDS TO NO AVAIL. HOWEVER, I DID FIND WHERE FORD MOTOR VEHICLE COMPANY HAS RECALLED SEVERAL 2010 FORD FOCUS AND 2010 FORD FUSION FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. TO QUOTE "LUG NUT, BOLT OR STUD WERE FOUND DEFECTIVE, (SHEARED COMPLETELY OFF) ON SEVERAL 2010 FORD FUSION MODELS." WHEN I APPROACHED THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO ORDER REPLACEMENT WHEEL STUDS THEY ACTED SUPRISED AND NON-CHALANT CONCERNING THE PROBLEMS AND SIMPLY STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. WE RECENTLY EXPERIENCED A TIRE BLOWOUT OF THE LEFT REAR TIRE ON OUR 2010 FORD EDGE WHILE TRAVELING SOUTH ON INTERSTATE 81 SOUTH JUST OUTSIDE OF SCRANTON PA. AT THE TIME OF THE BLOWOUT WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 60MPH. WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE THE TIRE I OBSERVED THAT THE WHEEL (RIM) HAD STARTED TO COLLAPSE AND THE OUTER RIM HAD SEPARATED FROM THE HUB ABOUT 75% OF THE WAY. WE DID NOT RUN OVER ANYTHING THAT WE CAN REMEMBER. THERE WAS NO NOISE THAT WOULD NORMALLY BE EXPECTED IF SOMETHING WAS IN THE ROAD AND NEITHER OF US HEARD ANYTHING BUT THE NOISE OF THE TIRE BLOWOUT. (IF THERE WAS SOMETHING IN THE ROAD, HOW DID THE FRONT TIRE NOT CONTACT IT AS WELL??) THE ROAD WAS CLEAR AHEAD OF US. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER, BUT HAD TO "INCH" ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 200YDS TO GET TO A SAFE POINT TO CHANGE THE TIRE. AFTER THAT, WE WENT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE, AS WE WERE NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING ANOTHER 500 MILES ON A "MINI" SPARE TIRE. THE DEALER SHARED WITH US THAT THEY HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. AFTER SOME EXAMINATION WE DID NOTICE A TINY PUNCTURE OF THE TIRE ON THE INSIDE SURFACE OF THE TIRE. THERE IS A CORRESPONDING "PUSHED IN" SURFACE OF THE ALUMINUM WHEEL. (I HAVE PHOTOS AVAILABLE, AS WELL AS THE WHEEL AND TIRE). Hello, This is [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] . This vehicle has a shorted steer sensor part#8t4z-3f818-a. If traction control button is not turned off at start up, the vehicle will slam on the brakes and jurk the steering wheel while going around a curve. I took the car to Crossroads Ford for diagnosis. They inspected and stated it needed the steering angle sensor. I payed them $377.90 for the part to be ordered on 3/20/25. The part was suppose to be there 4/1/25. They never called, I called they stated it was still on order. Today I called again 4/29/25 and asked the parts manager where the part is. He stated it was Discontinued Product from ford and is not available. This is a required part for the vehicle to perform safely, I have checked all other means of order online all are discontinued. Please advise why Ford is being allowed to discontinue production and availability for part#8t4z-3f818-a. Power Steering malfunctioned. Wife had kids in the car and lost steering control. All power steering fluid loss out of banjo bolt that connects the power steering high pressure line to the steering gear. Ford has a TSB on these regarding this issue. Service bulletin ASI-44308 Steering NHTSA ID number 10054565. I had to have a mechanic replace the whole rack and pinion due to the pitting the salt caused on the aluminum by corroding. This is fords mistake. Thankfully no one was hurt. Secondly, I had to pay $945 for something that should have never happened. This is a huge safety concern and Ford Knows about it!

The front driver seat belt has been fraying to the point that there’s only about 1/2” of belt left to hold it together. It’s frayed above the buckle so if I was to hit anything & depending on the belt to save my life I’m screwed bc it’ll just snap. I’ve contacted ford who refuses to replace it under warranty bc it’s been over 6yrs which is wrong bc it is a genuine ford motor craft part and peoples safety and lives depend on the seatbelt to save lives. It shouldn’t only be under warranty for a limited amount of time if it’s an original ford part. So bc ford has discontinued all parts and belts for the front driver’s side I can’t find a replacement for under $200! So this is deadly and I’m not sure what led to this level of fraying other than the mechanical device it winds up in. I always wear my belt and never has it been in the door or anything so I’m not sure what caused this horrible problem but it’s even worse ford refuses to replace it. I drive a 2010 edge se fwd it has only 88k miles and has barely been driven and one owner. I’ve looked online and seen that a lot of fords have had recalled seat belts. I believe this needs to be a recall especially considering all the front driver’s seat belts on ford have been discontinued and they don’t offer any other brand of replacement. How can they expect to ensure the safety of the driver of the car if they don’t have a lifetime replacement warranty on the actual belt itself or even offer a replacement for a decent price or a replacement at all for that matter considering all have been discontinued that tells me they weren’t that secure to begin with if they aren’t even available.

My car has a faulty latch system in the driver side door. My door is completely shut however the warning light for an open door stays on and I am unable to lock my car while driving as this light stays on. This is also causing my lights to stay on as well. This is a safety concern because I have 2 children and I cannot lock my doors from the inside of my car while the car is in motion. I hit the lock button and since my car is showing that there is an open door, they immediately unlock and stay that way, which is a safety issue not only for myself but my children as well. I’ve had this issue for a couple of years now and went online and saw that several other ford edge owners have had the same problem.

DROVE CAR TO STORE, PARKED AND TURNED OFF. WHILE GATHERING MY PURSE I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM FRONT OF CAR. OPENED UP HOOD AND FLAMES IGNITED. APPEARED TO START @ O2 SENSOR @ MANIFOLD. BURNED 2ND COIL PACK AND WIRING HARNESS. BURNT UP RADIATOR FAN AND UPPER RADIATOR HOSE. FIRE DEPARTMENT CALLED TO PUT OUT. CAR IS AT LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO DETERMINE HOW AND WHY FIRE STARTED. SO FAR NO RESPONSE OR IDEA FROM THEM. THEY SHOW ONE RECALL ON CORROSION OF FUEL TANK, BUT SAY IT DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THE FIRE.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed but felt stiff and failed to respond, causing a 5-10 feet delay in stopping distance. There were no warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the brake pedal was making abnormal hissing sounds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the following morning, while driving and attempting to stop the vehicle the brake pedal was depressed all the way to the floorboard, but failed to respond, causing a significant stopping distance delay. The contact stated that failure had worsened. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who test drove the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the failure. The contact became aware of Ford Customer Satisfaction Program Number: 13N02 for the brake booster failure. The dealer was notified and later diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 172,000.

The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake booster was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. A FEW WEEKS AGO MY 2010 FORD EDGE STARTED MAKING A LOUD RATTLING NOISE WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN AND WAS TOLD I HAVE A BAD DRIVESHAFT. MY MECHANIC CALLED FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY HAVE OVER 160 DRIVESHAFT PARTS ON BACK ORDER AND WON'T HAVE ANY AVAILABLE FOR OVER A MONTH. IF THERE IS SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVESHAFTS ON 2010 WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL ON. MAYBE THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO.

WE PURCHASED A 2010 FORD EDGE BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY TESTS OF THESE VEHICLES. IT HAS SINCE DEVELOPED A DELAY IN TAKE OFF ABOUT TWICE PER MONTH. IT IS ALMOST LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT ENGAGED, THEN VIOLENTLY ENGAGES AND LURCHES THE VEHICLE FORWARD. LAST MONTH A CAR HAD TO SLAM IT'S BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING MY WIFE AND CHILDREN AS THE CAR DELAYED, AND BEFORE MY WIFE COULD GET ON THE BRAKE, IT ENGAGED AND LURCHED THE CAR INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, ONE THAT I WOULD FIGURE FORD WOULD TAKE VERY SERIOUSLY SINCE IT IS DOCUMENTED, HOWEVER THEY REFUSE TO ADMIT SOMETHING IS WRONG. Just bought used 12/4/23 from private party. Transmission fluid leaking on exhaust pipe, seen and documented by tech at Kendall Ford Anchorage, AK. Vehicle was brought in for Transmission and Engine Oil Service 91,000 approximate. Seems to coming from rear of transmission, where shaft goes in. Leaks on hot exhaust, burns and smoke comes in heater vent, Can see some smoke coming up from under hood when parked and smell burning fluid when outside. The leak is not excessive, as im watching the transmission fluid level. But my wife is now afraid of a fire. This seems to be an on going problem with the Ford Edge and other vehicles. Complaint Filed Tuesday 18:14 hrs 12/06/2022. On 12/02/2022 I had a diagnosis at Marcotte Ford Holyoke, MA done my vehicle because it failed Massachusetts emissions CEL. Diagnose came back with the same description as the damaged fuel system and suspension which RECALLS, which should have been fixed before I registered the vehicle on 11/22/2022. I fear for my safety of fuel leak and suspension crash. I would hate to think a reputable Ford dealer would jeopardize my safety for a few extra dollars for holiday spending. The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158 (Air Bags) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount time. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that she will be notified when parts are available. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Additionally, the contact stated that she heard a hissing noise when the brake pedal was depressed and without warning, more pressure had to be applied to the brake pedal to stop. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake booster and brake pads needed to be replaced. Brake booster has to be replaced which was being covered up until 2020 the mechanic told me so I liked to know why it's not covered now. I bought the vehicle in late December of ,2020 so I wouldn't have known and I got it from a dealership. The brakes don't work because of this known problem. So I have a $800 repair bill I'm hoping to get taken care like it should have when I bought it. Thanks for your time and help!

THANKFULLY THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS APPROACHING AN EXIT AND I WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY BEFORE MY CAR OVERHEATED AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. MY CAR OVERHEATED 1-2 MINUTES AFTER MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF ANY PROBLEMS ON MY CAR BEFORE THIS ALL HAPPENED. IT WAS VERY SUDDEN. I WAS ABOUT 1.5 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME AND HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED. A MECHANIC LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THE COOLANT IS COMPLETELY DRAINING OUT. THEY USE AN ENTIRE GALLON OF COOLANT AND IT POURED OUT OF MY CAR IMMEDIATELY, IN UNDER A MINUTE. AS OF RIGHT NOW, I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP ON MY CAR. IF THE MECHANICS FIND THAT THE COOLANT HAS INDEED MIXED WITH MY ENGINE OIL AND RUINED MY ENGINE, THEN I WILL HAVE TO COMPLETELY REPLACE MY ENGINE, RAISING THE COST FURTHER TO $7K+. BECAUSE MY CAR IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD I AM WONDERING IF THIS CORROSION WOULD BE COVERED BY SOME SORT OF WARRANTY OR IF THIS IS UNDER RECALL? THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 HOURS ON A SUNNY DAY. WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR, CLOSED THE DOOR, THE WHOLE BACK WINDOW SHATTERED. I BOUGHT A USED 2010 FORD EDGE LAST YEAR AUGUST FROM CONNICELLI DEALER IN CONSHOHOKEN PA. THE SAME DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR, ON MY WAY HOME I NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE HAS A PROBLEM. TOOK IT BACK AND WAS FIXED. RIGHT AFTER THIS., I WAS PARKING IN A SMALL PARKING LOT , THE CAR ACCELERATED ON HIS OWN AND WENT ON THE GRASS. THE SECOND TIME I WAS PARKING IN FRONT OF MY GARAGE, THE CAR ACCELERATED AGAIN AND I ALMOST DRAG MY SECOND CAR TO THE BASEMENT. THE THIRD TIME, I WAS PARKING IN SMALL PARKING LOT AND IT ACCELERATED AGAIN. ONLY THIS TIME, THE CAR CRASH INTO PARKED CAR AND THE CAR HIT ANOTHER CAR. MY CAR AND TWO OTHER CARS WAS DAMAGED. TODAY, MY WIFE BROUGHT HER 2010 FORD EDGE IN FOR THE 3RD TIME IN A MATTER OF 3 WEEKS, TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. THE PROBLEM IS WHILE SHE IS DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE ENGINE WILL STALL LEAVING HER STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, AFTER A MINUTE SHE CAN RESTART IT BUT IT HAPPENS SHORTLY AFTER THAT. THEY HAD REPLACED A SENSOR ON THE LAST VISIT BUT YET AGAIN TODAY THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND IT STALLED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE SHE COULD GET IT HOME. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE GEAR SHIFTER HAD TO BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, TO BE ABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR BACK TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE GEAR SHIFTER DOES NOT RELEASE FROM PARK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 27,000. UPDATED 2/19/13 *CN ALSO, THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED.

STARTED NOTICING A VIBRATION IN STEERING AT SLOW SPEEDS WHEN PULLING INTO OR OUT OF PARKING SPACES. TOOK TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AT 34,000 MILES A FEW WEEKS LATER AND DEALER AT FIRST COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE, THEN WITH MY HELP IDENTIFIED IT AS A POWER STEERING PUMP AND REPLACED. THE NEXT DAY, SAY ISSUE AND THEY THEN STATED IT WAS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF CAR MODEL. WARRANTY HAS SINCE EXPIRED AND HAS GOTTEN SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE AND MILEAGE IS CURRENTLY 49K AS I AM A SALES REP AND LOG A LOT OF MILES. I ALSO BEGAN GETTING A LOUD POPPING NOISE IN THE FRONT FROM BOTH SIDES AT ABOUT 38K MILES, PREDOMINANTLY LEFT SIDE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING LOW SPEED TURNS AND/OR GOING OVER SMALL BUMPS, LIKE WHEN ENTERING OR LEAVING A PARKING LOT. ON 1/21/12, I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, THE ENGINE MADE A FUNNY NOISE AND THE CAR SURGED FORWARD CRASHING INTO A FORD MUSTANG. THIS CRASH SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED SINCE MY FOOT HAD THE BRAKE DEPRESSED. WHEN THE CAR CAME TO A HALT AFTER HITTING THE MUSTANG, I HAD TO PULL THE GEAR SHIFT OUT OF "PARK" TO BACK UP OFF THE DAMAGED VEHICLE. AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE TO RANDALL FORD TO BE CHECKED OUT, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE ME THAT MY FOOT WAS ON BOTH PEDALS. THIS IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO IN MY CAR UNLESS MY FOOT WAS TURNED AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE FROM IT'S NORMAL POSITION. IF MY FOOT HAD SLIPPED OFF THE BRAKE AND HIT THE GAS I WOULD HAVE SAID THAT AND NEVER TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN TO BE INSPECTED. I KNOW FORD NEVER WANTS TO ADMIT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLES BUT I URGE THE "POWERS THAT BE" TO GO BACK INTO THEIR ISSUE HISTORY AND CHECK OUT THE ISSUES YOU HAD WITH THE FORD FREESPIRIT SURGING FORWARD ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. I WOULD LIKE FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUS WHILE MY CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I CANNOT AFFORD AN $8000. REPAIR. I PURCHASED MY 2010 FORD EDGE THE FIRST WEEK OF MAY 2011. WITHIN THREE DAYS I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE SUDDENLY, AND THE RPM WOULD JUMP FROM 1500 TO 3500, THEN BACK AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND THEY STATED I COULD TAKE IT TO ANY FORD SERVICE DEPT. I DID JUST THAT AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. WHEN I WENT TO RETRIEVE MY NEWLY PURCHASED FORD EDGE, THERE WAS A FOUR INCH GASH IN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HOOD. THEY DENIED THAT THE GASH HAPPENED AT THEIR SERVICE DEPT. WHEN I PULLED AWAY FROM THE SERVICE DEPT. THE VEHICLE DID THE SAME SURGING FORWARD AND THE RPM'S JUMPED AGAIN. I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT. ASAP! THEY HAD ME RETURN IMMEDIATELY, AND I WENT THROUGH HELL TO GET A LOANER CAR WHILE MY VEHICLE SAT IN THE SERVICE DEPT THROUGH THE WEEKEND. ON MONDAY OF THE FOLLOWING WEEK, THE SERVICE DEPT MGR CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. WHEN I PICKED UP THE EDGE THAT EVENING, I HAD THE SERVICEMAN RIDE WITH ME. MY EDGE DID IT AGAIN, AND I DEMONSTRATED HOW IT ALSO DID IT WHILE SET ON CRUISE. THIS WAS NOT A SLIP OF MY FOOT AS ASSUMED BY THE SERVICE MGR. THEY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE, BUT ONLY STATED THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT NORMAL WHEN I'M SUBJECTED TO AN ACCIDENT DUE TO A SURGING VEHICLE. I WAS ALMOST HIT WHILE MERGING AS MY EDGE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATE, THEN BOOM IT SHOT FORWARD WHERE I NEEDED TO APPLY MY BRAKES OR HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. 2010 FORD EDGE. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WHEN HE PRESSED THE GAS TO MOVE FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IT OCCURRED WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS MERGING INTO A GAP IN 40 MPH TRAFFIC. A RED WRENCH ICON ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BOARD. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE INVOICE, THE POWER TRAIN ICON ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER FOUND THE THROTTLE STUCK CLOSED. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE HEIGHT OF THE FRONT HEAD RESTS. THE TOP OF THE HEAD RESTS WERE HIGHER THAN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER HEADS AND AT A SHARP ANGLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RAISE OR LOWER THE HEAD REST TO THE HEIGHT OF DRIVER AND PASSENGER EARS. *JB
