My Ford has the rear view camera which at the time was an upgrade. Unfortunately it has not worked in the last 1 year. It has blanked out and shows upside down. According to the dealership only the 2015 and up had the recall. I understand that in 2014 was the year that back up cameras were required in cars. That is why we paid for an upgrade and purchased hours. And now all cars have them. I like to have ours fixed if at all possible without out of pocket.

SERVICE BRAKES

I am an automotive service technology teacher, retired. The ABS system on this vehicle failed without warning and without any trouble codes. No lights, no codes. The pedal sinks nearly to the floor, but does engage the brakes once the ABS chambers fill with fluid. But, by the time brakes begin to engage, one's heart skips a beat and it actually takes 1/2 second longer for the brakes to actually work. If not for my tall stature, I might not be able to reach the distance it takes to get hydraulic pressure. Brakes work, but marginally due to interference with floor. My research indicates this is a relatively common problem with these vehicles. Folks need to be warned! A recall is in order; at the very least a service bulletin and a customer notification. I'll fix it, but I shouldn't need to. I'll save the old unit and ship it if anybody wants to inspect it.

The brake booster continues to fail. I replaced this part for the second time 6 months ago, the first time was roughly 9 months before that. The failure of this part causes the brake pedal to drop to the floor making stopping tricky. I have had no accidents, no police report and no warning. No dash lights illuminate indicating a problem as well as no symptoms before the failure.

The rear differential has failed. It started to fail at 80,000 miles. The car now has a little over 91,000 miles. It makes a whining/grinding noise at over 30 miles per hour. It was subtle at first but has become much louder recently. If this had failed completely while on the highway going 55 MPH or higher, this could have resulted in complete loss of control of the vehicle. Additionally, oil or parts could have been left on the highway becoming a hazard for other drivers. The local mechanic confirmed that this is the part that needs replacing. There were no warning lights or messages at all. This is a major part of the drivetrain and there are many people on the Internet complaining about premature failure of the differential on the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX. I am surprised there has not been a recall on this already. Please look into it.

The back up camera quit working about 6 months ago for a short time. then it worked for about a week then stopped working completely. I had a message on the screen stating to bring it to the dealership. At that point the backup sensors were still working. Until about a week ago they quit completely. Now I get a warning to check the sensors but there is nothing stuck in or on the sensors. Now the entire back up system and sensors no longer work at all.

This is a known issue with Ford models. The door sensor does not work correctly when the doors are closed. The sensor alerts that a door is still open, and will keep the dome light on and will not allow the doors to lock. This is a huge issue with not being able to see at night with the light on, and doors not locking with children in the back seat. There is also another sensor that does not sense when the vehicle is in park. Then again you are not able to lock the doors of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle was hesitating while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the engine and a wrench warning lights were illuminated. The failure had become more persistent and occurred at various speeds. The contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle became idle, lost power steering functionality, and lost motive power. The vehicle was restarted and regained proper functionality. The failure was intermittent but became more persistent and occurred whether the vehicle had been refueled. The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle and continue driving. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who had replaced the Oxygen sensor twice, the purge valve once, and the EVAP twice; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 155,000.

Faulty Water Pump causing thousands of dollars to repair. There is a recall on same models and year my vehicle should also be on it. Stalled on hiway. Had to pay more money for tow. Repairs are more than car is worth. You have to take the top part of engine off to replace it.

Driving down the hwy, lost all acceleration. Engine still alive, had power, radio, air etc Had to coast to the side of the road. Restarted car after a few minutes and problem resolved. Took to dealer but they could not find a code. Suggested replacing throttle body as possible solution based on how often they see this.

Upon stopping at intersection I began to accelerate to proceed through intersection and no warning light on dash came on as my vehicle wouldn’t go into drive. It barely rolled through and off to shoulder. When I tried to shift into park it wasn’t engaging or something, it just wouldn’t do anything so I lulled the engine and used emergency brake. This could have been a very big tragedy at this or any similar situation.

Vehicle restarts and works fine after a short period of sitting. There are multiple reports of this going back 10+ years online. Ford says there is no problem. Computer chip failure? I AM WRITING TO COMPLAIN OF THE POOR VISIBILITY FROM THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE. WITH LOW BEAM ON THERE IS A BLACK OUT LINE ABOUT 30 TO 40 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHICH CHANGES WITH ELEVATION OF THE ROAD. I DRIVE IN RURAL AREAS 80% OF THE TIME AND HAVE DIFFICULTY SEEING FAR ENOUGH IN FRONT TO DRIVE SAFELY. WHEN ON HIGH BEAM IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE TO THE SIDES FAR ENOUGH TO SEE ANY OBJECTS POSSIBLY ENTERING THE ROADWAY. I AM WONDERING IF ANYTHING CAN BE DONE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

DRIVER SIDE HEAD LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON WHEN LIGHTS ARE FIRST TURNED ON. CHECKED BULBS AND OK. THEN WHEN HIGH BEAM IS TURNED ON THE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND BOTH LOW AND HIGH BEAM WILL WORK. OK FOR A COUPLE DAYS THEN SAME PROCESS. IN CHECKING ONLINE BLOGS SEE A LOT OF OWNERS COMPLAIN OF SAME OR SIMILAR PROBLEM. . SUGGESTIONS TO REPLACE RELAY BUT WHEN GOING TO DEALER SUGGEST REPLACING COMPLETE ASSEMBLY WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. ALSO RELAYS MAKE LIKE ALMOST A TRANSMISSION SHIFTING NOISE WHEN GOING FROM LOW TO HIGH BEAM AND BACK. BECAUSE OF LACK OF DEPENDABILITY FEEL COMPELLED TO HAVE TO CHECK LIGHTS EVERY TIME YOU GO SOMEPLACE.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED AND HAVE HAD IT FOR ONE YEAR. THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE THE WORST HEADLIGHTS I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED ON A VEHICLE. HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROJECT ADEQUATELY DOWN THE ROAD ON EITHER HIGH OR LOW BEAM. BOTH HIGH AND LOW BEAMS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH. POOR ILLUMINATION ABOVE THE ROAD AND TO THE SIDES. THERE ARE BLIND SPOTS WHEN GOING UP A HILL OR TURNING A CORNER. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA AND IT IS VERY HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT.

HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM DO NOT PROJECT VERY FAR DOWN THE ROAD AND DO NOT ILLUMINATE AT ALL ABOVE APPROXIMATELY 40 INCHES ABOVE GROUND LEVEL SO IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ STREET SIGNS WHEN NOT IN AREAS WITH STREET LIGHTS. THEY ARE ALIGNED ACCORDING TO FORD SPECIFICATIONS. VERY HAZARDOUS. AAA HAS CONDUCTED STUDIES ON THIS PROBLEM AND IT AFFECTS MULTIPLE MANAFACTURE'SVEHICLES THAT USE HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE VEHICLE WAS NEW AND DEALER HAS NO REMEDY.

In 2020, I paid a local Ford Dealership to replace my back up camera on my 2014 Ford Edge SEL. The camera had failed and gave the " camera not available" to driver. Worked until July of 2024. In July, the new camera failed. The camera "inverted" the image the driver sees. This makes it impossible to use the camera safely for backing up or hazard during back up. I feel this is a critical safety issue, causing disorientation of the driver while backing up. A call to the Ford dealer got the reply " Your vehicle is not covered under any Ford recall to date. The back-up camera has failed, and we can replace it at your cost"

Back up camera is not working properly. This started 1st of the year when it doesn't come on while in reverse. It's been on again off again for months. I should have reported sooner but was hoping it would resolve when following guidelines from the of owners manual. No messages or other symptoms that I'm aware of or appear and it's happening more often. There has been no inspection done. No incidents but definitely not safe to use. When camera does work it blanks out and goes black and message appears call dealership while backing up. Only other issue that I seen reported was our brakes screeching while backing up also. We need to get resolved ASAP.

Our backup camera isn't working properly. It sometimes works in reverse and also sometimes comes in while in drive. Most of time it doesn't work. It has not been taken to dealership to be looked at. It's been about a month now. Saw recently about recall on some cameras.

Back up camera works intermittently. Was told by the dealer the parts for the camera were on back order and it could be up to a year before they get them in!!!! Also if the car sits for 2 to 3 days the battery is dead and it has to be jump started. Battery tested at 100%. Everything is off when I get out of the car but something is draining the battery!!!

The backup camera on the car works intermittently switching between blue screens and component not available. This causes a safety risk as I back up. A specific scenario that occured where I had to back out of my garage during Halloween with kids running about the neighborhood. The backup camera screen turned blue requiring me to backup using only the side mirrors hoping someone was not behind the vehicle.

PULLED OVER AND CHECKED THE TIRES AND NOTICED THERE WAS SHATTERED GLASS ALL OVER THE TOP OF MY CAR. TURNS OUT THAT MY PANORAMIC SUNROOF LITERALLY EXPLODED!! NO TRUCKS WERE IN FRONT OF ME NOR ANY VIADUCTS THAT I WENT UNDER. $900.00 IN DAMAGE!! SEEN MANY FORUMS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AS WELL AS CONSUMER REPORT COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS. ALSO A FEW CLASS ACTION SUITS. NOT SURE WHY THIS HAPPENED AND WHO'S RESPONSIBLE, BUT THANK GOD THAT I HAD MY RETRACTABLE SUN VISOR CLOSED AT THE TIME OTHERWISE I'M CONFIDENT THAT ALL THAT GLASS WOULD HAVE HIT ME WITH SERIOUS INJURIES.THE NOISE WAS DEAFENING WHEN IT EXPLODED. I was traveling southbound on a two lane hwy. I slowed down and used my blinker to alert the semi behind me that I was making a left hand turn. Upon making the left hand turn, a vehicle passed the semi and tboned me on my driver’s side front and back doors. My airbags never deployed and I hit my head on my driver’s side window. The damage was bad enough that I could not get out of my car. Neither the front or back doors could be opened.

My defrost system on my 2014 Ford Edge does not work properly. I have researched it and it is a common issue with this model. All my windows from front to back fog/ice up to the point of needing to be scrapped from the inside. My passengers scrap just so I can have a peephole to see out. I have talked to dealers and they offer suggestions, none that have helped and the fix is expensive. My passengers are usually my 92 year old mom and my young grandkids that spend their time scrapping. No matter what I do with the Ford system nothing works. I have tried things found online about this safety issue but to no avail. I open the back windows and it helps a little bit but freezes people out. I hope I and all the other 2014 Edge owners can get some help with this issue. I have reached out to Ford and they refuse to offer help with this safety concern. I hope this helps. I do have pictures and video of this issue. I uploaded some photos. I do have photos of my dashboard showing temperatures and settings and nothing helping. I also have video. I wish I had documented this from the 1st winter I had the car. It is winter now and I know I will continue to document. I just want myself and my passengers to be safe and being on a fixed income I cannot afford to pay for a Ford issue. I want to be able to see my granddaughters but I don't feel it's safe in the winter to have them in my car. I hope you can help me and the other 2014 Ford Edge owners out there.

SATURDAY MORNING WAS COOL AND CAR IN GARAGE. PULLED CAR OUT OF GARAGE AND NOTICED A "LINE" SLOWLY COMING UP FROM THE SEAL AT THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD. SAT IN DRIVEWAY AND WATCHED THIS "LINE" GO FROM BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD UP AND TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. NOTHING HIT MY CAR AND THIS "LINE" CAME UP FROM BENEATH THE RUBBER SEAL ON THE WINDSHIELD. CALLED THE SALESMAN THE FOLLOWIING MONDAY AND WAS TOLD NOT COVERED UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. MY EDGE IS ONLY 2 MONTHS OLD!!! SALESMAN SAID HE WOULD CALL ME BACK - NEVER DID. WHEN OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING AS YOU DRIVE THE VEHICLE THE INTERIOR WINDOWS AND WINDSHIELD WILL FOG UP TO THE POINT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE OUT OF THEM. DEFROST MODE DOES NOT COMPLETELY CLEAR WINDSHIELD. ONLY GIVES ABOUT A QUARTER OF THE WINDSHIELD AT BOTTOM TO HALF CLEARANCE AT BEST. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES NOW AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL AFTER MY DEALER DID A RECALL FOR HEATER UNIT EFFICIENCY. I HAVE HAD IT TO THEM THREE TIMES IN THE LAST THREE WEEKS AND THEY CONTINUE TO TELL ME THAT EVERYTHING IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. Window Master Switch and door wire harness on drivers door does not operate. Can not open any windows on the vehicle. Rear windows will not open from rear door switches also. In case of accident windows can not be opened for exit purposes. Can not open windows if stopped by a police officer, whereas, they may feel threatened by occupant in vehicle. Is this a safety feature to be able to open windows. Ford dealer performed a vehicle check on May 20, 2021 and indicated the door harness may need replacement and the window master switch. Ford indicated the vehicle is 7 years old and the part is likely not made by Ford anymore. Ford has no way to correct the issue. There were no warning lights, messages, regarding the stoppage on May 20, 2021

I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE RIM. THE RIM WAS REPAIRED. SIX MONTHS LATER THE LOW TIRE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. I CARRY IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE RIM IS CRACKED AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN IT IS SENT OFF FOR REPAIR. FEBRUARY THE LOW TIRE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN WITH THE AIR LOSING 3 - 15 POUNDS OF AIR A DAY (I'M A TRAVELING NURSE) AND MY CAR GOES BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE GUY TELLS ME IT IS A FRACTURE IN THE VERY SAME RIM. My car is in need of a new water pump. This is a known repair needed in Ford V6 3.5 & 3.7-liter engines 2012-19 Explorer, Taurus, Edge & more. The water pump is placed in the engine so that a simple 1 hr. repair takes 10-12 hrs of labor costing customers thousands of dollars. There is no reason for this to not be on the recall list!!!!! This is confirmed by Ford dealers. There is no warning that comes up until the part has already failed, also causing other parts of the engine to be repaired.

The backup camera has stopped working. Sometimes it appears fuzzy when the car is put into reverse, other times the screen is black and says I need to contact my local dealership. The screen can also stay that way after I place the vehicle back into drive for several minutes before it goes back to the accessory screen. This issue started out as just sometimes a problem and sometimes the camera would work fine. It is at the point now that it never works anymore. I also have had issues with the rear cross traffic sensors "detecting" things when the car is in reverse that aren't there. It can be very dangerous because you think something is behind the car that is not there and can cause the driver to slam on the brakes. This issue does not happen on a regular basis, just sometimes. The vehicle is available for inspection for all problems. None of the problems have been inspected by anyone professionally yet. A Dealership has not confirmed the issues either.

When I purchased my 2014 Ford Edge SEL from North Central Ford, I informed the dealership that the backup camera consistently displayed the error message: “Camera is unavailable, please contact your dealership.” This occurred every time the vehicle was placed in reverse. Additionally, the SYNC display would become unresponsive, disabling access to the phone, climate control, radio, and other settings. The dealership refused to fix the issue and instead offered to replace the entire SYNC system with an upgrade costing around $800. This issue has persisted since purchase in January 2018. The Ford Edge has significant blind spots, and the backup camera is essential for safe reversing. I recently discovered that Ford issued a recall for similar issues, but my model is not included—even though it clearly suffers from the same defect. I request that the 2014 Ford Edge SEL be included in the recall to address this safety-critical issue.

I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER AFTER 8 DAYS THEY SAID IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL SIGNAL TO THE THROTTLE BODY. THE MANUFACTURE HAS ISSUED A RECALL ON SOME MODELS BUT NOT ALL AND REFUSE TO COVER THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE. My vehicle started having a "spongy" pedal feel when I pushed on my brakes going to work and returning home. I was going to be taking my grandchildren to Branson, MO, on Thursday morning, [XXX], and was able to get Marvin Merritt, mechanic, to look at my vehicle before leaving to make sure we would be okay traveling. Marvin notified me that my brake booster needed replace and it was not safe to travel. I made other arrangements to go to Branson. When I got back I paid Marvin for services rendered and got my letter from the Ford Motor Company Dated March 2024. I took my letter, the invoice from Marvin Merritt and turned it into Friendly Ford Dealership / Service man, Derrick and he filed a claim for me and said he did not see any reason why they would deny my claim based on the information I turned in. I waited 4 week, calling weekly for updates, before being told my claim was being denied. Derrick gave me the following number to call 1-800-392-3673 and they stated they would not honor the warrenty because it was not fixed at a Ford Dealership. I asked for an email or mailing address so I could send my information to them and was denied. She stated she would give me a claim number which was case # [XXX]. and I shared the following information on the phone. 1.“I received Ford’s March 2024 letter stating that if my vehicle had exceeded 150,000 miles, coverage would continue through November 30, 2025. My vehicle had exceeded that mileage, so I relied on this written coverage.” 2.“I had the brake booster repaired on July 11, 2025—well within the coverage period Ford outlined. Despite this, my claim was denied.” 3.“I am requesting Ford to honor its written commitment and reimburse the cost of my repair. New brake booster, new brakes put on 6 months ago, ABS now has problems. Car starts to skid when braking, only 1 brake works, car only has about 140,000 miles on it. When on the freeway at about 60-65 mph, car will start to lose power and shake until you hit the brakes really hard 2 or 3 times, no accident yet but if not fixed, it will happen. Brake pedal goes down to the floor will sitting at a red light or at a stop light.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER MEDVED FORD LOCATED AT 1404 S WILCOX ST CASTLE ROCK, CO 80104 WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCKING ASSEMBLY WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

I had my oil changed last year upon seeing some suspicious activity during this oil change at Walmart, they were dishonest and lied to my face about my skid plate missing bolts underneath. I told them there's is no way my mobile mechanic put all four back on last night after it fell off while driving. So they lied to me. I filled a complaint. My car started driving weird. Then about two weeks later my car while in park, out of no where wouldn't reverse the steering wheel way locked it hard to turn. And sounded like a broken garbage disposal. It wasn't drivable.i have a2014 Ford edge sel. I ended up having it towed to Ford dealership in Tustin and I remembered that I had just saw online fright before the oil change that there was recalls three online pee my vin in a search . I dropped the keys off at Ford and put the the recall numbers on the envelope going they could look at it. I was told over the phone what the issue was she is be about 1900.00 to replace. I told him there's no way it is that expensive. The party was about 200.00 and the job should only take about 1-2 hours of even that.I told him I was homeless sleeping out of my car with my daughter 5, at the time what are my options. I told him I had mechanical breakdown coverage he called me back saying the claim for coverage was denied when I had talked to them they were waiting for the dealership to call over with necessary repairs information. So I already knew he was being deceptive she and dishonest. I asked him to email me a list of itemized by repairs that needed to be done to the office so i could see what i could afford. Hey emailed me a blank email no list of repairs. I emailed him back telling him there's was no estimate and if he could resend it . No response. ong story longer dealership refused service to my vehicle. my harmonic balancer remains an issue after I replaced it myself and local shop did the timing. Powersteering pump has air in it. Steering wheel locks when driving. Loud sounds.

I purchased my 2014 Ford Edge in December 2023. March 2023, I started having issues with the driver side door lock sensor malfunction as shown in the last photo. The door would not automatically lock when I started driving, sensing that the driver’s side door was still open. It was not. I kept pushing the lock button to lock it, but it kept unlocking even while driving. Eventually it would lock. The cost to fix that was around $600 which I could not afford, and my limited warranty expired. July/August 2025 my ABS and traction control sensor lights were lit on my dash. I took the car for service and my very reputable mechanic diagnosed with no codes showing up a few times. Performed a reset twice and the lights came back on after only driving a couple of miles. He contacted Ford who advised he couldn't sell the part because there was a "national hold" on the part. On 9/2 my brakes and traction control failed resulting me rear ending another vehicle. The other safety issue is that my airbags did not deploy upon the collision. I contacted Ford Corporation and was advised that Ford will not do anything since my vehicle was older than 10 years. The vehicle is a total loss leaving me with a loan balance of approximately $4,700.00. This is neither fair nor right for a multimillion-dollar company that will not or choose not to address or acknowledge their responsibility regarding these two very serious safety issues. Since I didn’t die or get seriously hurt, I guess it’s not that big a deal to Ford.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while attempting to decelerate and depressing the brake pedal, there was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the brakes. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to detect other nearby vehicles as intended. The vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys, where the rear rotors and brake pads were replaced. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same local Pep Boys, where the vehicle was diagnosed with a check engine, transmission, ABS, Cruise Control Module, and seat module failure. The local Pep Boys diagnosed the vehicle with an ABS module failure that impacted the performance of several other safety features. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired because there was no recall associated with the VIN. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V733000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control (ESC); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at slower speeds, the vehicle hesitated while accelerating with the accelerator pedal depressed, and the vehicle to respond as needed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of fuel, with an abnormal burning metal odor entering the cabin of the vehicle through the air vents. The contact scanned the vehicle with an OBD-2 scanner and retrieved error codes for the Power Control Module, Steering Column Control Module, and Power Train Control Module. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was unknown because the contact had previously cleared the error codes twice. The contact related the failure to Manufacturer Recall: 24E10; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

I have had issues with this car since a few months from me getting it. My rear camera wouldn't work half the time and sometimes turns the images upside down. My heat and cooling system started malfunctioning and the driver's side doesn't blow or temp the same as the passenger side. It has been like that at least 2 of the 4 years I have had this car and have taken it in multiple times and spent thousands of dollars to get it fixed and it is still not fixed and no one can seem to tell me the problem. My car also restarts itself and it won't turn off. A couple of months into getting the car, my car literally shut off while I was on the freeway and I had to pull over. Restart it. I took it in to Ford and they said it was fine. Throughout the last 4 years, my car has restart itself without me autostarting it! It is not a push start car! The engine won't turn off half the time when I take the key out or it turns off then restarts itself and it won't turn off. My car won't lock when it restarts itself. I have also taken my car in multiple times for the electrical system. Reading that there has been multiple complaints about a lot of the issues I am having with my car, not only is it a major safety hazard, but Ford should have done recalls. It is quite ridiculous that they haven't when they are aware of multiple cars having these same issues. I have almost caused several car accidents because of the electrical issues and I don't feel safe driving my vehicle. I shouldn't have to keep spending thousands of dollars and the issues aren't resolved or they keep saying they don't know. There is clearly a lot of faulty issues with the 2014 Ford Edge model and there needs some recalls that need to be issued. My car should not start slowing down automatically on the freeway then shut down. I have had to replace my battery and alternator in less than a year of owning it with only 40,000 miles of it. There have been way too many issues to have had less than 100,000 miles on it.

7/2/25-i was driving about 20 miles per hour when suddenly my car went into a type of limp/idle mode. It shut the car down to an idle, a wrench light came on my dash then the car started to shake. I coasted into a driveway and turned the car off. I turned it back on after 5min and it was fine. 7/16/25-I was driving about 30mph and all of a sudden my car goes into this idle mode again. I got the car to coast over into a turning lane. It lost power down to an idle, wrench came up on dash again then the car started to shake. I turned the car off and back on and it was fine. I’m very scared to drive my car bc I don’t know when this will happen again. It could be when I’m turning in front of another vehicle, driving on the expressway or just normal streets or if someone was behind me and wasn’t able to react appropriately bc my car goes into this idle mode so fast that I don’t know how to keep from having an accident myself. 7/17/25-I took it to a machanic and they hooked it to a computer but nothing showed up as being wrong. They drove it several times but they couldn’t get it to do what I’m explaining what it does. After researching the issue, I believe it may be my electric throttle body ETB that ford acknowledged was an issue and had a customer satisfaction program CPS (CSP 13N03) from Ford for ETB replacement on certain 2009-2013 ,.* Jels, sometimes extended into the early 2014 model. * Electronic Throttle Body Failure * Ford ETBs from this era are notoriously bad. * Carbon buildup, worn internal sensors, or electronic glitches cause the throttle to stick or respond erratically. * The PCM detects an unsafe throttle position → activates fail-safe mode → wrench light + jerking + no throttle. * You restart the car, and the ETB re-initializes until it fails again.

The Power Take Off Assembly (PTU) failed. I had it replaced a a Ford Dealership with a genuine Ford PTU. After driving less than 125 miles the PTU failed again and my right front half shaft disengaged without notice on the high when traveling at highway speeds. Upon return to the dealership they noted that the PTU failed and it was replaced at no cost. However, they charged me for the replacement of the Right Front Axel. I contacted Ford Customer Service and contend that recall 14S10 should apply especially after the new PTU failed. They denied my claiming stating that the dealership claimed a torn CV Boot was the cause of my axel disengaging. However there was no mention of a torn CV Boot in the dealerships multipoint inspection of my vehicle when originally brought in. Ford Customer Service and the dealership denied my claim.

Backup camera not working properly. Unsure if this falls under any recall headings for safety. I’ve seen many recalls on newer backup cameras but none on this year model. Was displaying upside down or with green lines across the screen and now just completely unavailable. Has not been diagnosed by ford and will not be diagnosed by ford out of my pocket. Can’t afford it. But it is available for inspection. I did clean some corrosion off of some wiring harness connections to no avail. Please advise.

After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 13N03. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 66,000.

The drive door is consistently not locking properly and the door latch sensor is not reading when the door is shut properly. Causing a "door ajar" and "transmission not in park" warning to pop up while driving. Also, my car alarm goes off several times a day and several times all through the night due to the door sensor not working properly. The doors not locking is a huge safety risk. The interior lights stay on making it hard to see while driving at night and drains my car battery. Children can open my doors from the inside while driving and any unwanted person can open my doors from the outside while stopped for traffic reasons. When I looked at the car to purchase 4 years ago, I reported the issue to the dealer and the dealer supposedly sent the car to a Ford dealership to inspect and fix the issue. After the supposed fix, the issue seemed fine for a while. However, the issue came back shortly after purchase and got worse causing other symptoms such as the car alarm going off randomly after locking the car. I honestly feel the dealer just cleaned the sensor and door latch area to make a sale, which from what I've read is only a temporary fix. I have seen investigations and recalls for 2011, 2012, and 2013 Ford Edge models with the same or similar issues. However, there have not been any investigations and recalls for this issue on a 2014 Ford Edge, yet there are many complaints. I bought this vehicle brand now. The Edge only has 69k miles on it and I have replaced the front and back brakes (rotors, pads, calibers) 3 times (yes...3 times). I also had to recently (in 2023) replace the muffler, left and right outer tierods, left and right front wheel bearings and hubs. NOW: April 2023: my front brakes are pulsating and I brought the vehicle back to my mechanic for a complete vehicle check overall which the mechanic documented: Power steering return line is rotted (cost $175). A/C condenser is leaking and needs to be replaced/recharged (cost $1050). Driveshaft issue/vibration @ 50 mph: need to remove the rear driveshaft and inspect: if needs to be replaced: $4500. Replace Front and Read brake pads/rotors/calibers ($1600)...which would be #4 for replacement. Replacement of right rear parking brake cable ($205). ***I previously wrote a complaint several years ago (for the same VIN#)...this is just an update and I am requesting FORD to review and demand a recall. The 2014 Edge has been a money pit for me and it only has 69k in mileage. If there was a way I could seek reimbursement I would. I will never buy a FORD again.

Pulled out of a parking lot onto a busy street locally, car lost power and the orange wrench light came on. Would not go, all the car did was jerk and sputter. Engine did not shut off but would only coast/roll into the middle lane and managed to coast/roll into another business parking lot next door to where I pulled out from and once parked, I turned ignition off and back on. Wrench light went out and car started. No codes were apparently shown when hooked up to the machine at the car lot the next day (wrench light was still off) this is very scary and very dangerous whatever it is, it needs investigated and fixed so us Ford edge drivers can feel safe when driving. Also 1 week before this my check engine light came on, same code 3 times came up for eval, emissions ECT... Now no codes are showing since the wrench light came on Sunday and my car stopped moving.

I purchased my 2014 Ford Edge SEL ON JANUARY 2015. I have electrical problems suspicion problems & recall on my Airbags! I have always taken it to a Ford Dealership to have my regular service done…oil charge etc. it those times I have told them the other problems I was having example electrical problem started a month after I bought my vehicle every time they told me nothing is wrong or they replace the battery I have had 4 batteries replaced by Ford Dealerships. I also had recall on my airbags the dealership told me numerous times you do not need to worry about your vehicle it is fine!! After my 100, 000 Mile Warranty ran out I had my vehicle serviced by a mechanic shop. They could the electrical issue was in headlights & dashboard had them replace headlights & lights in dashboard. On 3/19/2023 I was in a bad vehicle accident involved 9 vehicles I was the 5 vehicle. I have neck back & leg injuries. My AIRBAGS NEVER went off! If the Airbags would of worked properly have would not of gotten all my injuries. My Police Officers & Paramedics explained that to me at scene of the accident. Why did Ford not do or repair my airbag recall instead of telling meh car was not recalled even when I received service notification in the mail to get the Airbags fixed

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light would suddenly illuminate along with an audible chime, the vehicle would no longer accelerate when pressing the accelerator pedal and the vehicle's speed would reduce. After stopping the vehicle the engine would remain on but the vehicle would no longer drive forward or in reverse. After turning the engine off and restarting the vehicle, the failure would self-correct and the vehicle would operate as normal. The contact indicated that the failure had occurred on multiple occasions and had also occurred while driving on a busy freeway. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was concerned that the failure was due to a faulty throttle body. The failure mileage was 87,000.

The contact stated that on one occasion while driving, the vehicle shut completely off. As a result, the contact would need to pull over to restart the vehicle and then reset the temperature. No warning lights illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to have the vehicle diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the vehicle delayed starting. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring and the check engine warning light would illuminate intermittently. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle would fail to respond while driving and depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that she would stop the vehicle and would shift to park(P). The contact would then shift to drive(D)and would depress the accelerator pedal again. However, the vehicle would respond with delay. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring more frequently. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal and then stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the high velocity fuel pump needed to be replaced. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V005000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) as the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES AROUND 35 MILES PER HR, ON A STREET. ON APRIL 3, 2018, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2014 FORD EDGE. AS SHE WAS ENTERING A CURVE AT 35 MPH, THE 'LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON' AND SHE IMMEDIATELY LOST THE CAPABILITY TO EASILY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN RAPIDLY. FORTUNATELY, SHE WAS NOT ON A FREEWAY OR SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. SHE REALIZED THAT EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING, THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT WORK. I CALLED PLANET FORD IN HOUSTON WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR AND I ROUTINELY HAVE THE CAR MAINTAINED. ANTHONY, THE QUICK LANE MANAGER, TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR IN. BY THEN, WE HAD CHECKED THE INTERNET FOR SIMILAR OCCURRENCES AND WE HAD FOUND THAT THERE HAD BEEN THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR REPORTS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS PAID BY FORD IN LAWSUITS. ANTHONY TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD FIX THE CAR AT NO COST AFTER I EXPLAINED THE DETAILS AND TOLD HIM THAT THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A 'RECALL ISSUE'. THEY HAD SERVICED THE CAR LESS ONE MONTH EARLIER. ON TUESDAY, APRIL 10TH, I CALLED AND FOUND THAT THE CAR HAD BEEN MOVED TO THE REGULAR SERVICE AREA. IT STILL WAS NOT FIXED. BRAD ZOOK, THE SERVICE MANAGER, TOLD ME THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH I TOLD HIM THAT ANTHONY SAID IT WOULD BE FREE.LATER THAT DAY, IT WAS 'REPAIRED' AND WE PICKED UP THE CAR. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65 MPH+) WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENABLED, IF I PASS AN 18 WHEELER, THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY JAM ON THE BRAKES AND DECELERATE FROM MY CURRENT SPEED DOWN BELOW 55 MPH. THIS HAPPENS IN LESS THEN 3 SECONDS. THERE IS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME - IT IS A CLEAR STRAIGHTAWAY. IF I STEP ON THE GAS THE CAR WILL SPEED UP AND I'LL PASS THE TRUCK. AT THAT POINT THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL OPERATE NORMALLY - UNTIL I PASS ANOTHER TRUCK. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THEN TIME. MAYBE 20%. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN WITH TALL TRACTOR TRAILERS MORE THEN NORMAL TRUCKS. ASIDE FROM THE SUDDEN STOPPING ISSUE, THE REAL PROBLEM IS THAT CARS BEHIND ME SEE THAT I AM STOPPING FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND IF THEY'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION THEY'LL RUN RIGHT INTO THE BACK OF MY CAR. THIS HAS BEEN A DAY 1 PROBLEM - I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN 2014. I AM ADDING MY COMPLAINT TO OTHERS WHO HAVE REPORTED THIS SAME ISSUE. FORDS RESPONSE - PAY $3000 TO HAVE YOUR CAR FIXED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE OUGHT TO BE A RECALL TO GET IT FIXED.

2014 FORD EDGE W/ 100000 MILES. DRIVING IN TOWN AND HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF. ALL OTHER LIGHTS STILL ON; TAIL, DASH, PARKING, T/S, FLASHERS AND ACCESSORY. RETIRED FORD MECHANIC. STARTED ACTIVATING ALL LIGHT RELATED SWITCHES. ALL THINGS NORMAL EXCEPT NO HEADLIGHT &/OR HIGH BEAM. WIGGLED AND PULLED ALL FUSES AND RELAYS IN THE UNDER HOOD FUSE PANEL. WIGGLED AND PULLED ALL ELECTRICAL LOOMS AND CONNECTORS. CHECKED HEADLIGHT PLUGS AND CONNECTORS. NOTHING!! SLAMMED HOOD AND LIGHTS RETURNED. HAS NOT RE-OCCURRED YET.

THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONFIRMED TO EXIST IN BOTH A 2011 AND A 2014 FORD EDGE. WITH A PASSENGER WEIGHTING 72-75 LBS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE AIR BAG TURNS ON AND OFF DEPENDING ON HOW THE PASSENGER IS SITTING ON THE SEAT. THIS SAME PASSENGER HAS TRAVELED ALMOST 50,000 MILES IN A 2011 MUSTANG WHICH HAS A SIMILAR SENSOR SYSTEM AND HAS NEVER HAD THE AIR BAG TURN ON. WE ARE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THIS PROBLEM AT WILL. THIS INFORMATION SUGGESTS A PROBLEM IN THE FORD EDGE WITH THE SOFTWARE THAT MONITORS THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SENSORS AND DETERMINES WHEN TO TURN ON THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG. THIS WAS REPORTED TO FORD ON 07/22 AND WE CHECKED ON IT ON 09/23 AND THERE WAS NO UPDATE, INDICATING THAT THEY HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY ACTION ON THIS.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR DOWN A SIDE STREET WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DASHBOARD FLASHED "LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE" AND I LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING, BRAKES, AND GAS. THE CAR ESSENTIALLY JUST STALLED OUT AND JUST STARTED ROLLING UNTIL I HIT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AFTER LOOKING AT IT FOR TWO DAYS THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ERROR AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. ON 9-27-14, USING ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ON STRAIGHT, 4-LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY WITH NO TRAFFIC IN LANE AHEAD OR BEHIND. VEHICLE'S BRAKES SUDDENLY ACTIVATED DROPPING SPEED FROM 74 TO 50 MPH. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP 10-7-14 AND ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. HAPPENED AGAIN ON 11-11-14 WITH SAME ROADWAY & TRAFFIC CONDITIONS, THIS TIME 55 TO 50 MPH DROP. TAKEN TO DEALER ON 11-20-14 AND AGAIN NO ISSUES WERE DETECTED WITH THE VEHICLE. CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO SAID TO TAKE IT BACK AGAIN TO GENERATE A "HOT LINE" COMPLAINT FOR AN ENGINEER TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE BACK 12-3-14 AND LEFT IT SO THEY COULD DRIVE IT FOR A FEW DAYS AND TRY TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE (THEY SUPPLIED A RENTAL). CALLED AFTER 2 DAYS AND SAID AN ENGINEER "HAPPENED TO BE THERE LOOKING AT ANOTHER VEHICLE SO THEY LOOKED AT MINE". NO ISSUE FOUND, BUT THEY DID A RESET OF THE SYSTEM. THE ENTIRE TIME THEY HAD THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DRIVEN A TOTAL 6 (SIX) MILES. ALSO, ADAPTIVE CRUISE IS SET AS A DEFAULT AND CANNOT BE CHANGED. IF YOU TURN THE "ADAPTIVE" FEATURE OFF, IT GOES BACK WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE AGAIN. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MAIN COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED HARD BRAKING WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WERE NO INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A GLITCH AND WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AND MOVING MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, MY SHOE HAS GOTTEN HUNG UP ON THE OPEN SPACE BY THE GAS PEDAL. THERE IS A OPEN GAP BETWEEN THE SIDE PANEL NEAR THE GAS PEDAL ON THE RIGHT. UNLIKE OTHER CARS I LOOKED AT IT IS NOT ONE CONTINUOUS PIECE OF MOLDING. WHEN MOVING MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL TO THE BRAKE MY SHOE GOT CAUGHT IN THE OPEN AREA. IN 2 INSTANCES IT CAUGHT AND PULLED OFF MY SANDAL DELAYING MY ABILITY TO GET TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. IN OTHER INSTANCES IT CAUGHT MY SHOE AND DELAYED MY BRAKING TIME. *TR
