The contact owns a 2007 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the contact became aware of a failure with the transmission. The contact attempted to shift the gear shifter and the vehicle made a loud clanking sound and the vehicle was rattling. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed as a failure with the transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 150,076.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE THE HIGHWAY ON RAMP THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO ACCELERATE AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT MERGING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SCANNED 16 TRANSMISSION OBD CODES CAME UP. THE CAUSE OF THE CODES WAS A CORRODED CONNECTOR GOING TO THE TRANSMISSION. IT CORRODED FROM WATER INTRUSION FROM WATER LEAKING FROM THE A/C DRAIN ONTO THE TRANSMISSION ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO GET FIXED AND PAID BY FORD FOR POOR ENGINEERING.

OUT TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. WE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED MANY TIMES AND THAT FORD IS AWARE OF IT. IT IS A MALFUNCTION IN THE TRANSMISSION AND NOT A MAINTENANCE PROBLEM. WE WERE DRIVING ON 25 HEADED EAST OUT OF BAY CITY GOING STRAIGHT AT 55 MILES AN HOUR.

DRIVER SEAT MOVES BACKWARDS WHILE DRIVING ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THIS HAS STARTED HAPPENING OCTOBER 2017. SINCE THEN IT HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT AND WILL HAPPEN AT RANDOM SO THE CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. SPEEDS CAN RANGE FROM 40 MPH TO 70 MPH. WHICH RESULTS IN NOT BEING ABLE TO REACH THE BREAK OR GAS PEDAL. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS IN AN EMERGENCY BREAKING SITUATION.

WE WERE DRIVING HOME AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. NO ENGINE, NO STEERING, ETC. MY HUSBAND WAS REDUCING SPEED (45 TO 35) USING THE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE STEERING WHEEL. EVERY LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP, ENGINE, WRENCH. OIL CAN. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. WE TOOK IT IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS TWICE (ONCE TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY AND ONCE TO A DEALERSHIP). BOTH SAID THEY DIDN'T FIND ANY ERROR CODES. THE ABS TONE RING WAS REPLACED AND A NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED. THESE REPAIRS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS!!! SO FAR THIS HAS COST US $465.00. I WILL BE MAKING ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP TODAY.

HARMONIC BALANCER IS BAD ON A LOT OF FORD EXPLORERS. MY GIRLFRIEND AND I JUST PURCHASED A 2007 FORD EXPLORER AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL. A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WE NOTICE A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS A FAN BELT NEEDING REPLACED. REPLACED THAT ITS GOT WORSE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND OUT A LOT OF FORD CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE. ALL THE VIDEOS AND FORUM SEARCHES LEADS TO THE HARMONIC BALANCER. THESE THINGS GO BAD AND CAUSES MORE PROBLEMS WITHIN THE PULLEY BELT SYSTEM, EVEN ENGINE FAILURE. I'M ONLY MAKING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE FORD HASN'T MADE ANY ADJUSTMENTS OR ATTEMPT TO PUT OUT A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AND ITS THE PURPOSE OF ENGINE FAILURE IN A LOT OF FORD EXPLORERS, EXPEDITIONS, ETC. THE SQUEAL OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. IT STOPS PERIODICALLY, BUT STARTS UP AGAIN AT TAKE OFF FROM STOPS AND ITS CONSTANT WHEN DRIVING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE A FEEL OF LOST OF POWER. ALOT OF THE CUSTOMERS ARE DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE THEMSELVES. SOME DOESN'T MAKE IT TO GETTING IT FIXED BECAUSE SHOPS SAYING ITS A BELT AND NEVER GET THE REAL PROBLEM FIXED. FORD NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR A MECHANICAL PART THAT BASICALLY RUNS THE VEHICLE. BAD HARMONIC BALANCER OR DAMAGE BALANCER EQUALS WORN BELTS, BAD BELT TENSIONER, AND DAMAGE TO ENGINE LIFE ITSELF AND NEED TO RESOLVED.

I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding a persistent issue with the throttle body system in my Ford Explorer. I have addressed this problem multiple times, having repaired the throttle body system, replaced the sensor, and even substituted the entire assembly on two separate occasions. Despite these efforts, the same diagnostic code continues to appear. Through my research, I have discovered that the throttle body issues in this particular year and model are not uncommon. I find myself at a loss regarding the next steps to take, particularly since I am certainly not the only Ford Explorer owner experiencing this challenge. This ongoing issue poses a significant safety risk, as exemplified by a recent incident where my vehicle ceased accelerating in the middle of a busy street just two days ago, nearly resulting in a collision. The car has only been examined by my mechanic; no police or other authorities have inspected it. Each time the throttle body-related code activates, I observe the wrench icon and the check engine light illuminating on the dashboard. Despite having undertaken extensive replacement of components associated with the throttle position sensor system, the root of the problem remains elusive—not even the dealership has been able to provide a solution. I urge you to investigate this matter further, as I believe there are others experiencing similar issues.

My check engine light came on and the car was making a loud acceleration noise when touching the gas. I took it to the dealer and they found that the wiring harness (Part# 7L2Z-12A581-CB) was faulty and needed to be replaced. The dealership told me they are trying to locate the part. This went on for 8 or 9 months when they informed me that the part was on a national backorder. No one had this part in the US or Canada. I also contacted suppliers and dealerships myself to help find the part. On multiple occasions I spoke with my Ford dealer, Ford Parts Department and Customer Resolution Center. They keep telling me that we have to just wait for the part. I explained that it's been 9 months and asked if they can tell me how long it will take. They said they have no ETA. I explained that my car needs to be inspected by the end of the month and it won't pass without this wiring harness because my check engine light is on. I can't get an answer as to whether or not the part is on backorder or discontinued, and if backordered, when the part will be available. In the meantime, besides the fact that my car won't pass inspection in a few weeks, I'm also concerned about my safety driving with this faulty part. Multiple things can happen as a result including the car catching on fire. I need the part to fix my car and pass my inspection. However, I'm being told it's not available and there are a lot of units ordered and waiting. Is it possible that many others are experiencing the same? And if so, is this a faulty part that should be recalled? Thank you.

THEY FINALLY SENT THE GIRL THAT WORKS THE SERVICE COUNTER WHO SAID TURN IT OFF AND WE WILL PULL IT INTO THE BAY AND HAVE A TECHNICIAN TRY TO RECREATE IT IN THE MORNING, CONFIRMING THEY WOULD CHARGE LABOR TIME TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. SHE WAS VERY RUDE AND TOLD ME NO TECHNICIAN WAS GOING TO COME OUT AND THAT I COULD LEAVE THE CAR OR NOT, THEN STORMED INSIDE. I LEFT WITHOUT THE PROBLEM RESOLVED AND MADE AN APPT. AT THE NEXT CLOSEST DEALERSHIP 40 MILES AWAY NEWPORT, TN. I WAS ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM FOR THE TECHNICIAN AT THE NEWPORT DEALERSHIP. AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER BRINGING IT TO A DEALERSHIP I WAS INFORMED I NEED A NEW DRIVERS SIDE IMPACT AIRBAG AND ELECTRICAL HARNESS. MY VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND I FEEL THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD CORRECT THIS SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. WE HAVE A 2007 FORD EXPLORER. THE RADIATOR STARTED LEAKING AT JUST OVER 36,000 MILES. UPON RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, WE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE FORD EXPLORER AND FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND FIX THE RADIATORS, SINCE THERE IS A FLAW ISSUE WITH THEM. RADIATOR STARTING SEEPING FLUID FROM RIGHT TOP SEAM (ALUMINUM-PLASTIC) AROUND 50,000 MILES FOR NO REASON; RESEARCH ON INTERNET SHOWS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS WITH THE 2006-2007 MODELS WITH THE V6 ENGINE. FINALLY AT 54000 MILES I AM GOING TO REPLACE THE UNIT AS THE LEAK HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND I'M AFRAID OF COMPLETE EQUIPMENT FAILURE ON THE ROAD TRAVELING. THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH MANY EXPLORER OWNERS WITH SOME HAVING TO REPLACE THERE RADIATOR THREE TIMES. ONE SITE I LOOKED AT FOR PURCHASE GAVE A PART NUMBER FOR THE 2006 MODELS AND NOTED THAT THEY COULD NO LONGER HONOR A WARRANTY DUE TO A DEFECT IN THE FORD MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR THE RADIATOR. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT HAS BEEN MENTIONED ON THE INTERNET TOWARD FORD FOR NOT STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE AND ADDRESSING THIS DEFECT ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND DON'T SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG. I WENT TO PULL OUT FROM THE STORE BUT MY STEERING WHEEL WOULDN'T TURN. WHEN WE OPENED THE HOOD, WE SAW THE POWER STEERING BELT HANGING OFF. HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE SHOP AND WHEN THE MECHANIC TOOK A LOOK HE SAW THAT THE WHOLE POWER STEERING UNIT WAS HANGING DOWN AND THE BOLT WAS BROKEN.

WE HAD JUST PURCHASED A NEW 2007 FORD EXPLORER, HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVING IT FOR THREE WEEKS, WE'D HADN'T EVEN MADE OUR FIRST PAYMENT YET. WE WERE AT A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN BUMPER-TO-BUMPER TRAFFIC, WHEN THE EXPLORER TOOK OFF BY ITSELF. BY THIS, I MEAN BOTH OF MY HUSBAND'S FEET WERE FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE EXPLORER STARTED SURGING FORWARD BY ITSELF. TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF US, HE TURNED THE VEHICLE TO GO DOWN BETWEEN THE TWO LANES, AND SCRAPED DOWN THE SIDES OF OTHER CARS. THE VEHICLE ONLY FINALLY STOPPED WHEN MY HUSBAND THREW THE VEHICLE IN THE PARK. THERE WAS VEHICLE DAMAGE TO TWO VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PERFORMED COMPREHENSIVE DIAGNOSTICS AND TESTING. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. WE HAD SUPPLIED THEM WITH COPIES OF 30-100 OTHER FORMAL COMPLAINTS FROM CONSUMERS WHO HAD EXPERIENCED SIMILAR SURGING IN THEIR EXPLORERS. THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND THEREFORE WOULD NOT BE REPAIRING ANYTHING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT! WE WERE LUCKY NO ONE WAS INJURED AND WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT IN CASE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I WAS APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT INTERSECTION IN MY 2007 FORD EXPLORER. AS I BRAKED TO STOP, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE ON ITS OWN DOWNSHIFTED INTO A LOWER GEAR AND ACCELERATED PUSHING ME INTO THE INTERSECTION. ON APRIL 25, 2011 AT A APPROXIMATELY 10 AM, MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING IN OUR 2007 EXPLORER GOING SOUTHBOUND ON RT 5 PASSING STOCKTON CA. I WAS DRIVING; MY WIFE WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THIS 3 LANE HIGHWAY IN MODERATE 75 MPH TRAFFIC AND ABOUT MILE NORTH OF EXIT #473 WHEN SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT ANY PREVIOUS WARNING (SUCH AS THE WAY A VEHICLE HANDLES WHEN A TIRE IS GOING FLAT OR A WHEEL IS COMING LOOSE), THERE WAS A LOUD BANG ACCOMPANIED BY HIGH VIBRATION AND A LOUD RUMBLING NOISE LIKE A TIRE BLOWOUT. THE NOISE AND VIBRATION LASTED A SECOND OR SO, THEN STOPPED FOR A SECOND OR SO, THEN RESUMED AGAIN FOR ANOTHER SECOND OR SO AFTER WHICH THE VIBRATION STOPPED AND THE LOUD RUMBLING NOISE WAS REPLACED BY A LOUD STEADY SCRAPING/GRINDING NOISE. I GOT ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY IN ABOUT 15 SECONDS. DURING THIS I HAD NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFICULTY IN STEERING OR CONTROLLING THE EXPLORER. THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WHEEL HAD COME OFF. ALL 5 LUG BOLTS WERE FRACTURED THROUGH AND ALL BUT THEIR SHORT PORTIONS THAT ARE THREADED INTO THE HUB, WERE MISSING. A LONG SKID MARK FROM THE #2 LANE OVER TO THE SHOULDER WAS DONE BY THE REAR WHEEL'S STABILIZER FRAME AND ASSOCIATED LINKAGES HAVING BEEN SCRAPED OVER THE PAVEMENT. THE LAST TIME THE LUG BOLTS AND LUG NUTS ON THIS WHEEL WERE REMOVED AND REINSTALLED WAS OVER 8,000 MILES AGO WHEN THE BRAKES WERE INSPECTED. THE TORQUES ON THE LUG NUTS ON THE REMAINING 3 WHEELS WERE NOW MEASURED AND FOUND TO BE PER EXPLORER SHOP MANUAL SPECIFICATIONS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE LUG BOLTS IN OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAVE SIMILAR LUG BOLTS FROM THE SAME BATCH AS IN MINE. I HAVE THE HUB WITH THE PORTIONS OF THE FRACTURED LUG BOLTS STILL THREADED INTO IT, AND IT IS AVAILABLE FOR EXAMINATION BY NHTSA IF THAT WILL HELP IN DETERMINING IF A MORE WIDESPREAD LUG BOLT SAFETY ISSUE EXISTS. *TR

WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AND APPLIED PRESSURE TO BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS HARD AND WOULDN'T DEPRESS. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED THROUGH THE RED LIGHT. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME OR ANY CROSS TRAFFIC. THE TEMPURATERS RANGED FROM THE MID 70S TO MID 90S. WHILE PARKED IT WAS DETECTED THAT THE REAR LIFT GAT GATE GLASS HAD SHATTERED. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED THROUGH A CERTIFIED FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE MY FATHER WORKS AND I HAD BOUGHT ALL MY PREVIOUS CARS IN APRIL 2012. THE FUEL TANK IS NOT VENTING PROBABLY TO LET THE FUEL ENTER AND AIR TO ESCAPE WHICH MAKES THE FUEL BACK UP INTO THE FILL TUBE AND WHEN THE AIR COMES BACK OUT IT SENDS THE FUEL OUT WITH IT. 2007 FORD EXPLORER MAKING A LOUD ROARING SOUND UPON ACCELERATION. I FINALLY GOT IT TO DO IT AT THE DEALER. THE SERVICE MANAGER, LEAD TECH AND MYSELF WENT FOR A RIDE. THEY AGREED THAT THE FAN CLUTCH WAS LOCKING UP AND FELT THAT A SIMPLE R&R WOULD FIX IT. HOWEVER AT THE LAST MINUTE THE SERVICE MANAGER DECIDED TO CALL FORD ENGINEERING AND HE TALKED TO AN ENGINEER WHO EXPLAINED THAT THE FAN CLUTCH IS CONTROLLED BY THE PCM (MODULE) AND THAT REPLACING THE FAN WOULD NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. HE EXPLAINED THAT FOR SOME REASON THE PCM THINKS THE ENGINE IS OVERHEATING AND IT IS TRYING TO INCREASE AIR FLOW THROUGH THE RADIATOR. MAKES SENSE. HOWEVER THERE ARE NO CODES SHOWING AN OVERHEATING PROBLEM. HMMMM'' UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TRANS WAS THROWING OF AN OVERHEAT CODE! I'M NOT SURE WHY THAT WAS NOT APPARENT FROM THE BEGINNING. THE LAPTOP SHOWED THE TRANS TEMP AT 270!. NO WAY! SO UP ON THE LIFT, AND PHYSICALLY CHECK THE TRANS TEMP AND FLUID TEMP. WELL, 160 ALL DAY LONG! TURNS OUT THAT THE THERMO BYPASS WAS FAULTY AND WAS MISINFORMING THE PCM THAT THE TRANS WAS OVERHEATING AND THE PCM WAS LOCKING UP THE FAN CLUTCH TO PULL MORE AIR TO COMPENSATE. REPLACED THE THERMO BYPASS AND SO FAR PROBLEM SOLVED. TO DO THIS YOU MUST DROP THE TRANS PAN AND REMOVE THE VALVE BODY AS THE THERMO BYPASS IS LOCATED IN THE VALVE BODY. *TR

The contact's brother-in-law owned a 2007 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while her brother-in-law was driving 60-62 MPH, her husband was sitting in the front passenger's side seat, the contact was sitting in the rear passenger's side seat and her sister was sitting in the rear driver's side seat. The contact stated that the front passenger's side end of the vehicle collapsed and hit the ground inadvertently. The driver lost control of the steering wheel, and the vehicle rolled over three times and landed on its wheels. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact was knocked unconscious temporarily. The contact's sister and brother-in-law were able to exit the vehicle. The contact was able to exit the vehicle and stood in front of the passenger's side door attempting to assist her husband out of the vehicle. The emergency units cut the front passenger's side seat belt and assisted the contact's husband out of the vehicle. The contact's husband was air lifted to the hospital, where it was diagnosed that he had sustained a broken neck and was paralyzed from the neck down. The contact's husband received medical assistance in the hospital for 5 months until he passed away. The contact, her sister and brother-in-law were transported to the hospital. The contact sustained a broken sternum and received medical assistance. The contact's sister sustained a fractured neck. Both the contact's sister and brother-in-law had undergone back surgery. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to tow yard, where it was totaled. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V181000 (Steering). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.

THIS PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT SIX MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE AND HAS BEEN CONTINUING SINCE AND OVER THE LAST 3 MONTHS HAS BEEN MORE AND MORE FREQUENT. CAR WILL SUDDENLY DISPLAY THE YELLOW BOX AND WRENCH ON THE STATUS SCREEN IN DASH BOARD AND IF CRUISE IS SET, THE CRUISE WILL TURN OFF. IT WILL START LUNGING, THEN STOP COMPLETELY. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES I CAN FINALLY GET IT STARTED. THEN IT WILL START RUNNING, STOP, START AND WILL ONLY REV TO LOW RPM'S AND MOVE VERY SLOWLY. FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT. THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH REPLACED DUE TO POWER STEERING LEAK AND THE SWAY BAR LINK REPAIRED BECAUSE IT CAME LOOSE. FUEL FILTER REPLACED DUE TO ENGINE LIGHT CODE INDICATED ISSUES. TRUCK ONLY HAS 81000 MILES AND NOW GETTING READY TO TAKE IT IN AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS MAKING A LOUD "CLUNKING" NOISE WHEN MAKING ONLY LEFT TURNS. THAT ALL DIAGNOSTICS POINT TO THE SHIFTING LEVER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THIS REPAIR ($435) WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS PURCHASED AT THE TIME OF SALE. I WAS BASICALLY TOLD IT WAS "BUMPER TO BUMPER" COVERAGE. LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER AS I WAS LEAVING FOR A BUS. TRIP ON 3/19/11. CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE (CALLED AT LEAST THREE TIMES BETWEEN THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND TUESDAY). FINALLY REACHED THE REP THAT MY ISSUE HAD BEEN ESCALATED TO ON 3/22/11. TOLD HIM THAT I WAS LOOKING FOR A "GOODWILL" REPAIR ON BEHALF OF FORD MOTOR CO. I FELT THAT THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, OTHERWISE, WHY WOULD PEOPLE BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IF THEY COULDN'T COUNT ON IT COVERING ANYTHING? FINAL RESOLUTION WAS THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP TO MAKE THE REPAIR, I WOULD PAY THE $50 DEDUCTIBLE THAT I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY HAD THE WARRANTY COVERED THE SERVICE. I WAS BASICALLY TOLD "DON'T EXPECT THAT THE NEXT TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS THAT YOU CAN CALL FORD AND THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF IT." THE BOTTOM LINE IS I AM SATISFIED THAT IT IS BEING REPAIRED FOR THE $50 DEDUCT. HOWEVER, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT I NEEDED TO "JUMP THROUGH HOOPS" TO GET THIS ACCOMPLISHED. I BELIEVE THAT THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD HAVE WORKED WITH FORD ON MY BEHALF TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF. ABOUT 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS THERE WERE FRONT END AND WHEEL ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH WHEN THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE ROAD PERFORMANCE WAS EXTREMELY POOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FOUR TIRES AT THE MANUFACTURES EXPENSE. RECENTLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES EXHIBITED PREMATURE WEAR AND STATED THAT THE TIRES WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AFTER ONLY RIDING ON THEM FOR EIGHTEEN MONTHS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING ON A BUMPY ROAD APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH THE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CARSEAT WAS INSTALLED REARFACING, IN BOTH OUTBOARD POSITIONS, WITH LATCH, NO TOP TETHER, IN A 2007 FORD EXPLORER. (2ND ROW) CARSEAT WAS INSTALLED PROPERLY BY MYSELF, A CPST, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WITH LITTLE TO NO MOVEMENT AT THE REAR FACING BELTPATH. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME, RANGING FROM A FEW HOURS TO DAYS, THE SEAT WILL LOOSEN BEYOND THE ALLOWABLE 1 INCH OF MOVEMENT AT THE BELTPATH. MANY TIMES WHEN CHILD HAS NOT BEEN PLACED IN THE SEAT. THERE IS NO IDENTIFIABLE REASON FOR THE BELT TO LOOSEN OTHER THAN THE BELT SLIPPING THROUGH THE TIGHTENER. THE TIGHTENER SLIDES EXTREMELY EASILY ON THE BELT IN BOTH DIRECTIONS AND IT TAKES MINIMAL, IF ANY FORCE TO RELEASE THE SILVER TAB AND LOOSEN THE LATCH BELT. I HAVE SEEN THIS SEAT LOOSEN ABOUT 5 TIMES IN MY VEHICLE. I DO NOT LET MY CHILD RIDE IN IT WHILE INSTALLED WITH LATCH FOR THIS REASON AND I CANNOT USE THE SEAT TO ITS FULL CAPACITY IF THE LATCH BELT IS DEFECTIVE. I CONTACTED SUNSHINE KIDS AND INFORMED THEM OF THE PROBLEM AND AM WORKING WITH THEIR COST TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AGAIN. THEY HAVE OFFERED TO REPLACE MY CURRENT LATCH BELT WITH ANOTHER, HOWEVER THIS PROBLEM IS NOT LIMITED TO MY LATCH BELT ALONE. THEY WILL BE REPLACING WITH THE SAME PRODUCT. WAS DRIVING FROM WORK TO PICK UP DAUGHTER FROM SOCCER APPROX 2 MILES AWAY. STARTED HEARING A NOISE THAT SOUNDED MAYBE LIKE SOMETHING WAS STUCK IN HUBCAP..NOISE SEEMED TO BE MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN VEHICLE WAS BRAKING OR SLOWING DOWN. DROVE APPROX. ANOTHER 10 MILES BEFORE PARKING THE VEHICLE FOR THE NIGHT. NEXT MORNING(SAT) CALLED OUR LOCAL DEALER TO SEE IF THEY COULD GET IT IN TO LOOK AT IT. SERVICE STATES THAT THE SWAY BAR IS LOOSE AND THAT TWO OF THE 5 BOLTS THAT HOLD THE WHEEL IN PLACE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WERE SHEARED OFF. CAR IS AT THE GARAGE NOW AND THEY GAVE ME A LOANER TO USE WHILE IT IIS BEING REPAIRED. IT WAS IN FOR SERVICE ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND THE U-JOINT WAS REPLACED AND A COUPLE OF OTHER ISSUES WERE FIXED ALL UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS PURCHASED WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY OTHER TIME THAT I KNOW OF THAT THE DRIVER REAR TIRES WAS OFF WAS BACK IN MAY OF THIS YEAR WHEN IT HAD A COMPLETE BRAKE JOB AT ANOTHER LOCAL SERVICE PROVIDER. SO FAR THE SERVICE DEPT AT THE DEALER HAS BEEN GOOD AND THEY HAVE TREATED ME WELL AS FAR AS GETTING A LOANER VEHICLE ETC....BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE FOR OTHERS. I THEN CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER 800-392-3673 WHO ADVISED THAT EVEN THOUGH ITS A KNOW ISSUE WITH FORD THAT ONLY DEALER REPAIR REPORTS COUNT TOWARDS A RECALL WITH NHTSA NOT INDEPENDENT TRANSMISSION COMPANY'S REPAIR OF THE PROBLEM. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY 2007 FORD EXPLORER ? DUAL AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY: IN AUTO MODE (DURING COOLING PROCESS) VERY COLD AIR BLOWS INTO MY FACE THROUGH PANEL VENTS AND WARM AIR THROUGH THE VENTS IN FOOTWELL. NO FLOW DIRECTION CHANGE, NO RECIRCULATION AT ALL. AND I HEAR CLICKING NOISE FROM BEHIND THE DASH PANEL. WARM AIR BLOWS DOWN IN EVERY MODE (FACE, FACE-FEET, WINDSHIELD-FEET) THAT I CHOSE. I LEARNED FROM INTERNET IT'S A BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR PROBLEM AND IT'S BEEN IN PLACE SINCE 1995 FOR EXPLORER MODEL. OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER SAYS MY AC IS OK - NO FAILURES SHOWN BY SCANNER DEVICE. BUT I KNOW THERE IS THE PROBLEM - THE SCANNER SHOWS ONLY THE ACTUATOR MOTOR MOVE BUT NOT THE DOOR MOVE. MOTOR MAY BE OK AND THE GEAR MAY BE STRIPPED. THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO FIX IT. I PURCHASED MY NEW 2007 EXPLORER V8 EDDIE BAUER ON 06-07-07. I TRADED IN A 2002 SAME THING. THE MINUTE I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT I KNEW THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH IT. IT WANTS TO SURGE BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR AND WHEN IT FINALLY GOES IN IT JUST SLAMS ITSELF IN. ALSO IF YOU ARE IDLING ALONG AT A SLOW SPEED IT ACTS LIKE YOU ARE GENTLY GIVING IT GAS AS IT SPEEDS UP AND SLOWS DOWN. THE BACK LOCK ON THE WINDOW WANTS TO POP OPEN A LOT ALSO. THE DEALER HAS REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION ONCE AND FOR ABOUT A WEEK I THOUGHT IT WAS FIXED. THEN IT STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE EXPLORER NOW SITS IN MY GARAGE FOR 99.9% OF THE TIME. IT HAS 5808.8 MILES ON IT. I GOT SO DISGUSTED WITH THE THING I BOUGHT A 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY AND JUST LOVE IT. I HAVE BEEN A UNION MEMBER ALL MY LIFE AND HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT AMERICAN PRODUCTS BUT IT SEEMS THE AMERICAN MANUFACTURES NO LONGER CARE OR THERE DESIGNERS NO LONGER CARE AS SOME OF THE FOREIGN MANUFACTURES ARE PUTTING OUR PRODUCTS TO SHAME.
