The Belt in the tire separated while driving. This caused a "Bubble" to form causing my truck to shake violently and required changing to the spare tire. If this happened on the highway I could have lost control and caused an accident. I took my truck to a tire installer who documented the above finding and noted the tire was properly inflated and there were no impact marks on the tread or sidewalls. I am currently working with the supplier but they are being unreasonable with the requirements to have it inspected. No other reps have been contacted at this time. No ( its a 24 year old truck, I don't have any tire related warning lamps) LT235/85 R16

TL THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-250 EQUIPPED TRAILERED TO 2019 FOREST RIVER EAST TO WEST TRAVEL TRAILER EQUIPPED WITH TBC BRAND LLC TIRES, TIRE LINE: TRAILER KING, TIRE SIZE: ST225/75R15, DOT NUMBER: 1ADB4HFT1). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND PLACED THE SPARE ONTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER, APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES LATER, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE ALSO EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH NEW TIRES. THE CONTACT CONTACTED CAMPERS INN RV OF MACON - BYRON (125 PEACHTREE PKWY, BYRON, GA 31008, (478) 956-6111) AND WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT REPAIRABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 221,000 ON THE VEHICLE AND 1,000 ON THE TIRES ON THE CAMPER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

I FILED A CLAIM WITH MICHELIN NORTH AMERICA, INC (MICHELIN), THAT WAS DENIED, FOR DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF $3,000.00 INCURRED BY MY PERSONAL VEHICLE RESULTING FROM THE COMPLETE TREAD DETACHMENT OF A UNIROYAL LAREDO TIRE (DOT# BFW8FEUU4107), AFTER 13,586 MILES. DETACHMENT OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEED (65MPH) WITH PROPER INFLATION PRESSURE, CHECKED PRIOR TO BEGINNING OF TRAVEL. PRIOR TO COMPLETE TREAD DETACHMENT, THE SUBJECT TIRE WAS REPAIRED FOR DAMAGE INCURRED BY A COMMON ROAD HAZARD (I.E., A NAIL PUNCTURE). THIS, THE TIRE?S ONLY, REPAIR WAS PERFORMED BY A REPUTABLE SERVICE CENTER IN ACCORDANCE WITH GUIDELINES SET BY US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. MICHELIN DOES NOT CALL INTO QUESTION TIRE REPAIR AS THE CAUSAL FACTOR. RATHER, MICHELIN ASSERTS THAT THEIR INSPECTION OF THE TIRE INDICATES TREAD DETACHMENT RESULTED FROM TIRE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE PUNCTURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F250 EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER LT TIRES, SIZE: 265/75R16. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 65 MPH WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE EXPLODED. THE FAILURE CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND FENDER. THE CONTACT REMOVED THE FAILED TIRE AND INSTALLED THE SPARE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THAT THE TIRES COULD BE RETURNED TO WHERE THE CONTACT HAD PURCHASED THEM, AND THEY WOULD FORWARD THEM TO THE MANUFACTURER. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AT 15 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. AFTER DEPRESSING AND PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES, THE VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN AND RAN THE RED LIGHT INCIDENT FREE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE LINE CORRODED AND RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH IN PINHOLE SIZE SPOTS. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE BRAKE LINE AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. APPROXIMATELY EVERY 6,000 MILES, MY BRAKES START VIBRATING WHEN COMING TO A STOP. I BELIEVE THE DISC IS WARPING BUT TO DATE, NOTHING CONCRETE HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SO FAR, THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN TURNED TWICE AND THE DISK REPLACED TWICE. THE PROBLEM IS REOCCURING AND I WILL BE TAKING THE CAR IN AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE CAR DOESN'T STOP PROPERLY AND THE VIBRATING STEERING WHEEL MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL. I SEE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE AND MOST SEEM TO BE FROM ALASKA. IS THE COLD WEATHER SOMEHOW RESPONSIBLE? IT TAKES TIME, EFFORT, AND A LOT OF EMOTIONAL GRIEF TO ARGUE WITH THE DEALERSHIP EACH TIME I TAKE THE CAR IN AND TELL THEM THAT THE BRAKES HAVEN'T BEEN RIGHT SINCE DRIVING THE CAR OF THE LOT. FORD 250 LIGHT DUTY TRUCK BLEW #4 PLUG OUT OF HEAD WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. TRUCK ODOMETER REGISTERED 88,000 MILES AND AFFECTED SPARK PLUG WAS THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TENVOORDE FORD, SAINT CLOUD MN TO EFFECT REPAIR. REPAIRS INVOLVED AN INSERT KIT FOR THE #4 CYLINDER AND TOTALED $950.00. VEHICLE WAS OPERATING IN TRAFFIC AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, THE BLOWN PLUG CREATED A NOTEWORTHY DISTRACTION AND SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER REQUIRING THE VEHICLE TO BE MANEUVERED OUT OF THE TRAFFIC STREAM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED FROM DEALERSHIP DATABASES TO INTERNET FORUMS; EVERYONE IN THE KNOW IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. I HAVE HAD TWO (2) SPARK PLUGS BLOW FROM MY ENGINE ON TWO (2) SEPARATE OCCASIONS (1999 FORD F250 WITH 5.4 LITRE V8 WITH 150,000 KM'S). I'M NOT GETTING ANY COOPERATION FROM MY DEALER AND IN THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE ON THE NET, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL MODELS AND ENGINES. BOTH TIMES THE DEALER HAS REPAIRED IT WITH A "HEALY COIL" AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $560 PLUS TOWING COSTS. VERY DANGEROUS AS GAS IS EJECTED INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. IT APPEARS THAT FORD HAS ISSUED A TECHNICAL BULLETIN TO THEIR DEALERS AND THE SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE CYLINDER HEAD. OK IF YOU ARE UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. CERTIFIED LTR. FWD TO NHTSA RE PREVIOUS LTR SUBMITTED ON 9/23/04 RE DEFECTIVE CLUTCH/TRANSMISSION FOR A 1999 FORD F250 TRUCK. THE VEHICLE WOULD LURCH FORWARD, THE CLUTCH ENGAGED TOO CLOSE TO THE FLOOR, THERE WAS DIFFICULTY WHEN GOING UPHILL, AND WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. THE CORRECTION WAS DONE INCORRECTLY PER VERDE VALLEY FORD. THE CONSUMER WAS SHOWED A BROKEN TAB THAT WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. My fiancé & I were driving down a 35mph road & I told her my steering wheel was a little crooked & I don't remember hitting anything to knock out of alignment. We got to my friends house to move a car trailer for him up his steep driveway. I hooked up to the trailer pulled it out, moved it around to line up to back up driveway & making the last adjustment all of a sudden I was turning my steering wheel but the tires were not turning, jumped out to find the output shaft of the steering box was cracked in half diagonally & the steering arm was laying on the street. When I got under the truck & looked at the part that broke you could see it was fractured for a long time. There was only about an 1/8" on one side that was raw metal from just finally breaking. Thank God we are alive if it would have happened going fast probably would have killed someone.

I WAS GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY @ 65MPH AND I NOTICED MY STEERING WAS NOT RESPONDING IN THE NORMAL WAY. I HAD MADE IT TO A EXIT AND STOPPED AT LIGHT TRIED TO MAKE RIGHT TURN TRUCK CONTINUED STRAIGHT, AND I WAS STOPPED IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN CA. GOT OUT AND SAW MY SECTOR SHAFT HAD BROKEN OFF MY STEERING GEAR BOX.

I TURNED RIGHT INTO A PAINT STORE PARKING LOT AFTER LEAVING A MAJOR HIGHWAY (M-32) WITH MY 1999 FORD F250 (69000 MILES) AND NOTICED A SLIPPING FEELING IN MY STEERING. WHEN I TRIED TO BACK UP TO LEAVE THE PAINT STORE MY RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS POINTED TO THE FAR RIGHT AND MY LEFT WHEEL WAS STRAIGHT. I LOOKED UNDER THE RIGHT WHEEL AREA AND SAW THE TIE ROD END WAS SEPARATED FROM THE STEERING ROD. I HAD THE TRUCK TRANSPORTED ON A FLAT BED TO A REPAIR SHOP. I HAD ALL THE TIE ROD ENDS REPLACED. THE REPAIR SHOP, BEDFORD'S MUFFLER & BRAKE (9893458732) HAS SEEN THIS SAME TYPE OF FAILURE RECENTLY ON A FORD. I HAVE THE FAILED PARTS AND HAVE CONTACTED FORD OVER A WEEK AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT COLLISION AND NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK A VEHICLE RAN THE STOP SIGN AND THE CONSUMER HIT THE VEHICLE ON A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE VEERED UPON IMPACT AND WENT INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THE DEALER READILY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS FROZEN BALL JOINTS AND REQUIRED THAT I PAY FOR THE REPAIRS DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE PROBLEM BEGAN WELL BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. A DEALERSHIP EMPLOYEE INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE REPLACING MANY OF THESE PARTS UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO PREMATURE FAILURE. THE ORIGINAL PART DID NOT HAVE ANY PROVISION TO LUBRICATE THE JOINT. THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS A FITTING TO LUBRICATE IT. OBVIOUSLY FORD MADE A DESIGN CHANGE IN THIS PART AND ARE NOT TELLING OWNERS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. The contact stated he took his vehicle to several independent mechanics and was informed that the camshaft sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. I was driving on the interstate going highway speed of 65 mph and the accelerator was stuck open and I could not slow down. The engine stayed at a high rpm. I had to press with a lot of force to slow down and come to a stop with the engine still at high rpm and had trouble stopping. Luckily, where I live there's not much traffic, and I made it to a shop with this issue. Upon investigating, the accelerator cable became frayed where it enters the sheath and gets stuck there. The Ford dealer didn't have a replacement in stock or any nationwide. So I went to a junk yard to find one and found the same vehicle that had the same frayed accelerator cable. I located a newer, second vehicle with less mileage with same cable that matched without any fraying. In the meantime, I ordered a new accelerator cable through Ford, but it was backordered several months and tied up in shipping. With this happening on these two same vehicles, I thought I should report it. Thank you.

I TRIED TO ROTATE MY TIRES. I COULD NOT GET THE REAR WHEELS OFF MY TRUCK. I CALLED THE DEALER, CURRIE MOTORS, AND THEY SAID THEY USE A RUBBER MALLET TO BEAT THE WHEELS OFF. I DID THIS WITH MUCH DIFFICULTY. I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THE WHEEL OFF IF I HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD AND HAD A FLAT TIRE. ON FEBRUAARY 3, 2001 MY WIFE WAS PULLING INTO THE CUSTOMER PICKUP AREA OF SEARS IN AMARILLO, TEXAS AS SHE PULLED UP TO THE PICKUP AREA AND REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO APPLY THE BRAKES, THE ACCELERATOR STUCK AND OUR PICKUP TRUCK RAMMED THE BACKEND OF ANOTHER PICKUP TRUCK IN FROM HER. SHE SHIFTED TO REVERS, THE ENGINE STILL RUNNING AT A RAPID SPEED, TO BACK AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE THAT SHE HAD RAMMED. SINCE THE ENGINE WS RUNNING AT A HIGH SPEED, OUR VEHICLE RACED BACKWARD. IN ORDER TO KEEP FROM BACKING TNTO SOMEONE BEHINDHER, SHE THEN SHIFTED INTO FORWARD GEAR AND RAMMED THE PICKUP IN FRONT OF HER AGAIN. ALL OF THIS TIME THE REAR TIRES WERE SPINNING AND SMOKING. AFTER SHE RAMMED THE PICKUP THE SECOND TIME, SHE TURNED THE IGNITION OFF TO STOP THE CRAZY SITUATION. HAD SHE KNOWN, OF COURSE, THAT THE THROTTLE WAS GOING TO STAY ENGAGED AT HIGH SPEED, SHE WOULD HAVE KILLED THE ENGINE EARLIER. THE COMBINATION OF ANTI-LOCK BRAKES AND AN UNCONTROLLABLE THROTTLE IS A RECIPE FOR DISASTOR.

THIS TRUCK HAS MANY PROBLEMS. STRARTING WITH THE TRANSMISSION GOING OUT, THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUCK THERE IS A DISTINCTIVE "CLUNK" WHEN PUT INTO GEAR; EITHER FORWARD OR REVERSE. THEN GOING INTERIOR; THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT COMES ON IT THINKS THAT THE DOORS ARE NOT SHUT, BUT YOU CAN SLAM ALL 4 DOORS SHUT AND IT STILL THINKS THE DOORS ARE "AJAR" SO THAT WILL KEEP THE INTERIOR LIGHT ON WHILE DRIVING. THE INTERIOR LIGHT WILL GO OUT IF YOU GET UP TO ABOUT 20 MPH, THEN WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN TO UNDER 20MPH IT WILL COME BACK ON. THE "WARNING BELL" COMES ON AND STAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE TRUCK IS SHUT OFF. NEXT THE SEAT BELTS WILL SOME TIMES WORK AND SOME TIMES NOT. EITHER THE ARE HARD TO PULL OUT OR THEY WILL NOT RETRACT. THE TAILGATE COVER HAS WARPED IN NOT EVEN 1 YEAR AFTER WE HAD IT.
