THIS PARTICULAR MODEL AND YEAR WITH THE 6.0 LITRE ENGINE (2005 ) IS NORTORIOUS FOR THE OIL COOLER TO BLOW UP LEAVING YOU STRANDED WHEREVER. WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME I WAS PULLING A 33FT 5TH WHEEL TRAILER AND ALMOST WRECKED. FORD KNOWS ALL ABOUT THIS FAULTY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT YET DOESN'T RECALL IT AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR REPLACING IT. IT COST ME $6000 TO GET MY TRUCK FIXED. THE FAULTY PIECE WAS INSTALLED BY FORD AND SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE BY FORD FOR REPAIR COSTS

THE DEALER MADE TWO REPAIRS DUE TO AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE PRESSURE SENSOR AND RECALIBRATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 1-800-392-3673 AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE FICM FOR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO REGAIN POWER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND REMAINED AT THE DEALER. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 205,000.

MY 2005 FORD F250 SUPER DUTY TRUCK EXHIBITS A CONDITION REFERRED TO IN FORUMS AS 'DEATH WOBBLE', IN WHICH THE TRUCK'S FRONT SUSPENSION SHAKES VIOLENTLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MPH. THIS CONDITION IS GENERALLY BROUGHT ON BY EITHER OF THE FRONT WHEELS HITTING ANY DEVIATION IN THE ROAD SURFACE SUCH AS BRIDGE EXPANSION JOINTS, POTHOLES, ETC. THE CONDITION IS SO BAD THAT IMMEDIATE LOSS OF CONTROL CAN ONLY BE CONTROLLED BY JERKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL OR AN IMMEDIATE REDUCTION IN SPEED, GENERALLY TO 25 MPH. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS CONDITION SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST 9 YEARS SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, MOST RECENTLY ON JULY 12TH WHILE TRAVELING ON THE 57 FREEWAY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AT 65 MPH. I WAS TRAVELLING IN THE LEFT HAND LANE NEXT TO THE CARPOOL LANE (IN MODERATE TRAFFIC) WHEN I ROLLED OVER A BRIDGE EXPANSION AND THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND CAUSING ME TO IMMEDIATELY APPLY MY BRAKES TO REGAIN CONTROL. THE SEVERITY SEEMS TO BE GREATLY REDUCED WHEN HAULING A SUBSTANTIAL LOAD IN THE TRUCK BED, BUT I DID EXPERIENCE THIS TWICE WHILE HAULING A 20' CARGO TRAILER ACROSS THE COUNTRY. IN MY RESEARCH, I FOUND A COMPANY IN UTAH THAT PROVIDES AN AFTERMARKET KIT THAT APPEARS TO FIX THE ISSUE. AS I AM ABOUT TO EMBARK ON ANOTHER 6000 MILE JOURNEY WITH MY WIFE AND FAMILY, I INTEND TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL THIS KIT ON MY VEHICLE. IF I FIND UPON RETURNING THAT THIS KIT HAS ALLEVIATED MY TRUCK'S ISSUE, I WILL RE-CONTACT NHTSA WITH MY RESULTS.

HIT A BUMP GOING ACROSS A BRIDGE ON I-74. THE ENTIRE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET BEFORE I REGAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS EVIDENTLY WHAT FORD IS CALLING A " SHIMMY" . I HAD ALMOST NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AT THIS POINT. IF THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY WAS ANY NARROWER I WOULD NOT BE HERE TODAY. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN TWO DAYS LATER. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED AT A SPEED OF 60 MPH. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON A TRUCK THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. While driving at 65 Mph, towing a fifth wheel camper, encountered a mildly rough section of highway when entire front end began to wobble and shake violently. Slowed the vehicle, maintaining control. When going back up to speed, the same shaking occured again. Also noted a less violent shaking at 45 mph. Took vehicle to have new tires rebalanced but did not change condition much. Inspected front end components. Currently replacing steering damper and shocks in hopes of correcting issue. All other components new or nearly new (3 years) with no issues. Vehicle and components can be inspected, and all replaced parts will be kept for inspection if required. Safety of my vehicle and others on busy highway could have been compromised had I not slowed and maintained control. The problem is being dealt with by me, as I do most maintenance on vehicle. The vehicle has not been seen or inspected by others except by tire mechanic who noted no obvious issues but did re-balance all tires. There was NO advance warning of a failure or compromise.

towing a trailer, traveling at 70 mph, I hit a pothole and vehicle violently shook. The episode lasted for approx 30 seconds. It was very Difficult to maintain control and I almost ran off the road. It happened several times before I took it for repairs. The stabilizer bar was replaced, however the violent shaking has still continued.

Front end suspension shimmy> My granddaughter and I were driving at 60mpa and hit a bump and could not control shaking of truck until pulling over to stop. This happened without warning. Had to drive back roads to get home.

Driving on the freeway at apps 65 miles per hour, the truck hit a numb in the road and started to shaking causing the truck to shake violently. I was able to get to the side of the road and slow down which eased the shaking. I started driving again and after reaching speeds this happened two more times, then I got off the freeway and drove backroads home under 40 miles per hour.

THE FORD 250 INITIATES A 'DEATH WOBBLE' OR INTENSE SHIMMY IN THE FRONT WHEELS AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 50 MPH ANYTIME ANY SMALL BUMP IS ENCOUNTERED ON ROAD. THIS INSTANCE INITIATED 5 TIMES IN A 500 MILE HIGHWAY TRIP AT SUCH AN INTENSE RATE THAT THE VEHICLE LOST SIGNIFICANT STEERING CONTROL AND HAD TO BE IMMEDIATELY DECELERATED TO NEARLY 20 MPH FOR IT TO STOP. INITIAL SPEED WAS CLOSE TO 63 MPH. THE SHIMMY INITIATED WHEN A SMALL BUMP IS PASSED OVER AND ON THREE OF THESE INSTANCES IT INITIATED WITH THE CROSSING OF A EXPANSION GAP OR TRANSITION FROM THE HIGHWAY TO A BRIDGE OR BRIDGELIKE STRUCTURE. THE WOBBLE SHOOK TRUCK SO MUCH THAT DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WAS LOST. APPROACHING (TRAFFIC FROM THE REAR) HAD TO SWERVE OUT OF THEY WAY TO AVOID A REAR COLLISION. IF DECELERATION IS NOT IMMEDIATELY IMPOSED THE VEHICLE MAINTAINS THE SHIMMY AND DIRECTIONAL CONTROL IS SEVERELY COMPROMISED. IN TWO INSTANCES ON THIS TRIP I WAS ABLE TO NURSE THE WOBBLING VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD TO THE SHOULDER TO THEN BRAKE TILL CONTROL COULD BE RETRIEVED. HOWEVER, THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES WHEN ACCESS TO THE RIGHT SIDE IS IMPEDED SUCH AS WHEN PASSING IN LEFT LANE. THE SAME ISSUE HAS HAPPENED BEFORE ON A HIGHWAY TRIP TO ANOTHER STATE 6 MONTHS BEFORE.

ON MY 2005 FORD DIESEL F250,AFTER 126000 MILES, STEERING BECAME VERY LOOSE. HAD ENTIRE FRONT END REPLACED INCLUDING GEAR BOX. REBUILDER PURCHASED MOTOCRAFT REBUILT STEERING BOXES FROM FORD. FOUR OF THESE REBUILT BOXES WERE TRIED ON THE TRUCK. NONE WERE ANY GOOD. BUILDER SAID THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD GEAR BOXES. THEY INDICATED THAT THE GEAR BOX REBUILDERS ONLY REPLACED THE BEARINGS, NOT THE WORN-OUT GEARS WITHIN THE BOX. THE FORTH GEARBOX INSTALLED WAS EVEN WORSE, IT WAS DANGEROUS. WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE TRUCK WOULD VEER WITHOUT WARNING INTO ANOTHER LANE AND WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT TO CORRECT. THE TRUCK IS BACK IN THE SHOP AGAIN. THIS TIME TO BUY AN AFTER MARKET (NON FORD) GEAR BOX. THIS VEHICLE'S FRONT END PROBLEM HAS SO FAR COST ME OVER $4000. IN REPAIRS, BUT , WHAT IS WORSE THESE GEAR BOX REPLACEMENTS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

I STARTED THIS TRIP AT THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK, I-75 AT EXIT 120. I HAD BEEN DRIVING AN HOUR, HEADING NORTH. THIS INCIDENT TOOK PLACE LATE AFTERNOON, BETWEEN 5PM AND 6PM, BROAD DAYLIGHT EXCELLENT VISIBILITY, DRY, PARTLY CLOUDY, TRAVELING 65 MPH IN THE CENTER OF THREE LANES. I WAS NOT TIRED NOR DISTRACTED. I WAS NORTHBOUND ON I-75 IN NORTHERN KY WHEN I WENT OVER A MINOR BUMP, JUST ROUGH PAVEMENT. I AM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THERE WAS NO OBJECT IN THE ROAD. AFTER THE BUMP THE TRUCK BEGAN STEERING ERRATICALLY, WANDERING, MUCH AS IT HAD 4 DAYS EARLIER WHEN I TOOK IT TO MY FORD DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE FRONT U-JOINTS. I SLOWED DOWN, GOT THE TRUCK UNDER CONTROL, TURNED OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL, AND MOVED TO THE RIGHT LANE. I HEARD A HIGH-PITCHED SCREECHING METAL NOISE. THEN I SMELLED BURNING RUBBER. I WAS ALERT AND VERY AWARE OF ROAD CONDITIONS AND THE TRAFFIC (TWO LANES WERE MERGING FROM THE RIGHT FROM I-275 SO I WAS IN THE CENTER OF FIVE LANES) AND I AM CERTAIN THERE WERE NO OBJECTS IN THE ROAD. THE CONCRETE WAS CLEAR AND SMOOTH. I HEARD A LOUD BANG UNDER THE RIGHT FRONT OF THE TRUCK AND IT TOOK OFF TO THE RIGHT. IT WAS IMMEDIATELY CLEAR THE TRUCK WAS NOT RESPONDING TO THE STEERING WHEEL. I PUT BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, MADE MY BODY RIGID AND PULLED UP ON THE STEERING WHEEL FOR MAXIMUM DOWN FORCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL, I TRAVELED ACROSS BOTH LANES ON MY RIGHT (THE MERGING LANES FROM I-275) AND CAME TO A STOP WITH THE LEFT REAR WHEEL ON THE CONCRETE APRON AND ALL OTHER WHEELS IN THE ROCKY SOIL THAT WAS THE SIDE OF A DITCH WITH A MOUNTAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT THE TIE ROD END HAD SNAPPED. ONE THEORY IS THAT THE TIE ROD END WAS OVER-HARDENED AND BECAME BRITTLE, POSSIBLY CRACKED, THEN THE NEW U-JOINTS CHANGED THE STRESSES ON IT AND IT SNAPPED. IF YOU WILL SEARCH THIS ENGINE FROM 2003 TO 2007 YOU WILL FIND HUNDRED IF NOT THOUSAND OF POST BY OWNERS OF THE 6.0 POWERSTROKE THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS OVER AND OVER. FORD REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP ANYONE AND THEY TOLD ME IN AN EMAIL YOU WERE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN MAKE THEM HAVE A RECALL. I HOPE YOU WILL STEP UP AND HELP ALL OF US. ON DECELERATION THE ENGINE STALLS AFTER DRIVEN FOR 10-15 MINUTES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I DON'T NOTICE THE STALL UNTIL I APPLY THE GAS PEDAL. A COUPLE OF TIMES I WAS TURNING, I HAD TO SLOW DOWN SEVERELY TO GIVE ME MORE TIME TO TURN( NO POWER STEERING). I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES. FORD ISSUED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 05B27 BUT PUT AN EXPIRATION DATE ON IT. THE PROGRAM WAS NOT EVER FOR A WHOLE YEAR. THE FORD DEALER NOW SAYS THE PROBLEM LIES IN THE CALIPER PIN, AFTER LOCKING UP BUY NEW PINS GREASE AND YOU ARE GOOD. THIS ONLY LAST UNTIL THE TRUCK SITS 3-5 DAYS. WHEN THE BREAKS LOCK UP THE REAR BREAK ARE HOT ENOUGH TO CATCH ON FIRE AND THE STOPPING ABILITIES ARE IMPAIRED. YOU LOOK ON THE INTERNET AND THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE SUPERDUTY FORDS. Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-250. The contact purchased the vehicle from a private seller on social media. The contact stated that the sellers advertisement indicated the odometer mileage was 96,000. The contact later purchased a new vehicle and decided to sell the existing vehicle. The existing vehicle was posted on social media for sale. A potential buyer noticed the vehicle and obtained a Carfax report. The potential buyer then sent a copy of the Carfax report to the contact. The Carfax report indicated that the odometer was reported at 303,000 in 2023. The contact then contacted the seller and informed the seller of the discrepancy. The contact was informed that the odometer had been swapped prior to the sale. The contact stated that seller then deleted the advertisement from social media and rejected all further communications with the contact.

The tire is a Cooper (Discoverer/Rigged Trek) 35x12.50R20LT. The tire is unreadable as it ripped off the bead. While driving, a sudden pop suddenly occurred and smoke began to appear. I pulled over and realized the entire tire popped/blew up. No accident, it was at 35mph approximately. The vehicle has not been inspected yet as I am typing this while waiting for a tow truck.

In 2014, I got the “Ford death wobble” in the right front. VERY scary and dangerous. Trying to quickly slow down to stop it in traffic is almost as dangerous as the wobble itself. You have very little to no control with the steering when it happens. I had to repair the problem out of pocket because Ford won’t do anything about it. Now, two weeks ago, I had the same death wobble happen at 70 mph on the left front. So frightening. My passengers thought we had a blowout and we’re about to crash. I successfully slowed it down but this problem is a road hazard to me and everyone else on the road. So now, once again, it’s on me to shell out to fix a problem that should have been a recall a long time ago but Ford won’t step up and do the right thing. Please give us some relief here.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, THE HORN STARTED GOING OFF AND AND WOULDN'T STOP UNTIL THE BATTERIES WERE DISCONNECTED. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY COULDN'T REENACT THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THAT THE AIR BAG EXPANDS AND CAN PUSH ON THE HORN. THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IS REMOVE THE AIR BAG WHICH IS BEHIND THE HORN TO FIX WHATEVER THE PROBLEM IS. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT. I THINK THIS IS A FORD ISSUE AND A HORN IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A VERY MUCH NEEDED PART OF A VEHICLE. SO THEY TOOK THE FUSE OUT OF THE HORN SO THE HORN WOULDN'T BLARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power. The vehicle was later restarted and the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the fuel injection control module however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 05V270000 (Electrical System). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 36,000.

I HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO NOT GET GAS IN THAT TRUCK AT EVERY GAS STATION NEAR MY HOME. I HAVE TO DRIVE ACROSS TOWN TO GET GAS. AS SOON AS THEY NOTICE FUEL SPILLING OUT OF MY TRUCK, I WILL BE BANNED FROM THEIR STATIONS TOO. THERE ARE 8 GAS STATIONS WITHIN 5 BLOCKS THAT HAVE BANNED ME. IT COSTS ME APPROX. $4 TO GO GET FUEL, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A STATION 1 BLOCK AWAY. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE MANY TIMES. THEY CLAIM IT ISN'T A RECALL ISSUE. PURCHASED BF GOODRICH TIRES FROM DISCOUNT TIRE 2 YEARS AGO, WITH 21000 MILES ON THE TIRES ONE TIRE HAD TREAD SEPARATION WHICH WAS REPLACED WITHOUT INCIDENT IN AUGUST 2015. IN OCTOBER 2015, WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH DOWN HILL ON I-17 FROM SUNSET POINT THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED CAUSING A NEAR ACCIDENT. THE TIRE CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL WELL AND HAD TO OBVIOUSLY BE CHANGED. TIRE WAS REPLACED BY DISCOUNT. PROBLEM LIES IN THE FACT THAT WE BOUGHT FOUR TIRES ALL FROM THE SAME STOCK. WE ANTICIPATE SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE REMAINING TWO BUT ARE NOT WILLING TO RISK OUR LIVES TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY WILL SEPARATE AND GO FLAT ON US. WE ARE NOW FORCED TO BUY TWO NEW TIRES AT FULL VALUE OUT OF FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN AS WE TRANSPORT OUR GRANDCHILDREN OFTEN AND HAVE PLANS TO TAKE OUR TRAVEL TRAILER OUT. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, MY 2005 FORD F-250 DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE SUDDENLY DIED. I HAD TO WRESTLE WITH THE TRUCK TO GET IT STOPPED AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD NO STEERING WHEN THE TRUCK ENGINE STALLED SUDDENLY AND HAD TROUBLE GETTING IT STOPPED. I WAS TOWED HOME AS THE TRUCK WOULD NOT RESTART. WE THEN TOWED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS ON JULY 26TH, AND IT HAS BEEN THERE UNTIL TODAY, SATURDAY, AUGUST 7TH, 2010. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP AT OVER $1200.00. EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK HAD 62,000 MILES, IT HAD JUST GONE OVER 5 YEARS OLD. WE WERE TOLD THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH FORD DIESELS AND THE FORD ENGINEERS ARE TELLING CONSUMERS THAT THEY AREN'T CHANGING THE OIL ENOUGH. I CONSISTENTLY CHANGED THE OIL IN THAT TRUCK EVERY 5000 MILES WITH DELO 400 AS I WAS TOLD TO DO. Electrical system fails every day. It affects the engine, transmission, radio, windows, gauges. Wiring issue causes the radio to just go out, windows stop working, all gauges stops working, the transmission doesn't shift right, engine doesn't run right. Yes vehicle is available for inspecting. Engine cuts off and won't start back, leaves you stranded side the road. Truck stalls in front of other vehicles. Windows won't roll down when it's 100 degrees inside truck. Fuel gauge doesn't let you know when there's no fuel again leaving you stranded beside the road. Other gauge don't work could cause more damage. Yes it has been inspected my mechanic and he said there are wiring issues. No warning lamps or anything now but the wrench light has came on allot. There is a wiring recall on this year truck but said mine doesn't fall under that recall and I don't know why because I'm having this issue

2005 FORD F-250. CONSUMER STATES ENGINE FAILURE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE FAILURE NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, WHEN IT SHUT DOWN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE CONSUMER ALSO EXPERIENCED A FAILURE WITH THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE. AFTER HAVING THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE REPLACED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED DUE TO A FAILED EGR VALVE. THE CONSUMER WAS ALSO INFORMED THE ALTERNATOR WAS SPIKING, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS THE EGR COOLER AND HEAD GASKETS. *JB

MY 2005 FORD F-250 SUPERDUTY 6.0L DIESEL, FIRST INCIDENT WAS MAY OF 2007, AT 16,000 MILES MY TURBO CHARGER WENT BAD WHEN I WAS TRAILERING MY HORSES IN VERMONT, FORCED TO STOP AT UNKNOWN DEALERSHIP WHO "CLEANED" SOMETHING SO I WOULD MAKE IT BACK TO MY HOME. AGAIN ON THE DRIVE HOME I LOST THE TURBO. IT HAD TO BE REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP, COLUMBIA FORD, CT THE NEXT DAY. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO DRIVE MY TRUCK HARD AND EVERYDAY IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE PROBLEM FROM OCCURRING AGAIN. IN MARCH 2010 BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO MONACO FORD, THE MOTOR HAD TO BE REMOVED DUE TO "ALL OF THE GASKETS AND SEALS IN THE MOTOR LEAKING, AS WELL AS THE TURBO CHARGER BEING BAD AGAIN. THIS OCCURRED AT 24,500 MILES. THE SIDE WALLS OF MY TIRES ARE PEELING, THE RUNNING BOARD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS FALLING OFF, AND THE BODY SIDE MOLDING IS COMING OFF AND NOW AT 26,000 MILES THE AIR POSITION SELECTOR FOR THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. IF I PUT IT IN A POSITION FOR VENTING OR FOR FRONT AND FLOOR I JUST BLOWS THROUGH THE DEFROST VENTS. MY 2005 FORD F-250 6.0L DIESEL LOST ACCELERATION ONTO A HIGHWAY. IT STALLED AND STARTED BILLOWING WHITE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS IT SLOWLY ACCELERATED, BUT NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS CARS RAN UP ONTO US. THE ENGINE WAS MISSING AND WE MADE IT TO AN INTERSECTION TO PULL OFF OF HIGHWAY. WE STOPPED AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND IT STARTED RUNNING NORMALLY. HOWEVER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN ONCE WE WERE ON THE ROAD. WE MADE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED "FICM FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL MODULE." THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THEM MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS MODEL. I DID FIND REFERENCE TO A RECALL (FORD RECALL NO. 05S34) OF THE EXACT NATURE ON A DIFFERENT YEAR MODEL. A SNAP RING INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION FAILS ALLOWING THE PLANET TO SHIFT FORWARD BREAKING HOUSING TABS OFF CAUSING A EXTERNAL LEAK OF TRANSMISSION FLUID TO OTHER VEHICLES DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD,NO WARNING A TRANSMISSION MAY LOCK UP CAUSING SAFETY CONCERNS, FORD HAS RECOGNIZED THE SITUATION BEFORE AND SENT A INTERNAL NOTICE TO MECHANICS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, NO RECALL WAS EVER SENT. TRUCKS BETWEEN 90,000 AND 120,000 HAVE THIS PROBLEM, FORD SAID I WAS FIRST EVER COMPLAINT, WHICH IS A LIE, I HAVE FOUND THROUGH RESEARCH EARLY 2004 THROUGH 2006 MODELS HAVE THIS PROBLEM OF FAILURE WITHOUT NOTICE. FORD HOPES FOR THESE TO GET PAST WARRANTY SO CUSTOMER HAS TO PAY A OUTRAGEOUS SUM TO FIX, SO FAR I HAVE FOUND 40 CASES RESULTING THIS SITUATION IN MY AREA ALONE AND MAINLY 9/10 ARE FORD F250S. I SEEN THE INTERNAL COMMUNICATION BUT WAS DENIED A COPY OF IT. MY SERVICE ADVISOR AT SILSBEE FORD SHOWED ME. ALSO THIS PART IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY EXTENDED WARRANTY, AND FORD DENIES EVER HAVING THIS PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME WAS SHOWERED WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID ALMOST RESULTING IN A CRASH BECAUSE IT SMEARED ON HER WINDSHIELD TO THE POINT THAT SHE COULD NOT SEE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JANUARY OF 2005. SIX MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, SHE HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE AND THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. THE AIR BEGAN COMING FROM THE DEFROST VENTS, BUT IT WAS NO LONGER COOL AIR. THE DEALER AND MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VACUUM PUMP WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND HAS PERSISTED FOR THE LAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS. ON SIX OCCASIONS, THE DEALER AND MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE VACUUM PUMP. A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER, SHE NOTICED TWICE THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING WOULD OPERATE NORMALLY WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE TURNED ON AND OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 101,388 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

IN DRIVING MY FORD F-250 PICK-UP, I HAVE EXPERIENCES SEVERE VIBRATIONS/OSCILLATIONS AT HIGH (OVER 60MPH) SPEEDS. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE TRUCK RUNS OVER A SMALL IMPERFECTION IN THE ROAD. THESE OSCILLATIONS ARE QUITE SEVERE - FORCING EMERGENCY LEAVE CHANGE/LOSS OF CONTROL. WHEN THE TRUCK SLOWS DOWN TO ABOUT 40, THE OSCILLATIONS CEASE. THIS SHAKING IS SO SEVERE IT HAS DAMAGED THE PAINT ON THE HOOD DUE TO THE HOOD SLOSHING BACK AND FORTH. IT IS DEFINITELY LIFE-THREATENING.
