1. The high pressure fuel system failed, specifically the secondary fuel filter. The fire originated from the injector manifold, burning straight up to the bottom of the hood. Fuel was everywhere and the driver could obviously smell it. 2. This could have been a life threatening fire. 3. The problem has been confirmed by an independent fire safety company that was hired by our insurance. 4. The vehicle was inspected by insurance representatives and the fire department. 5. The Low Air buzzer went off in the cab, indicating the fire had burnt through the air lines to the brake system 6. It is notable that the 2021 Ford F-750 was recalled due to fire hazard.

HYDRAULIC BRAKES, 6.8 L V-10 ENGINE. SERVICE BRAKE PEDAL SPONGY, TRAVELS EXCESSIVELY ON INITIAL APPLICATION BUT CAN BE 'PUMPED UP' TO RESPOND BETTER. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALER SAYS SYSTEM WORKS AS DESIGNED AND SAID 'THEY COMPARED IT WITH OTHER TRUCKS ON LOT.' PICKED VEHICLE UP FROM DEALER, WAS UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH TECHNICIAN WHO PERFORMED DIAGNOSIS. FEELS AS IF BRAKE CALIPER(S) MIGHT BE HANGING UP AND ARE HAVING TO PUMP UP TO GET PADS TO CONTACT ROTOR(S). REMINISCENT OF REAR BRAKE SHOE / DRUM EXCESSIVE CLEARANCE ON OLDER VEHICLE WITH FROZEN SELF ADJUSTERS. THIS VEHICLE HAS FOUR WHEEL DISC BRAKES. 2,354 MILES.
