Auto “steering assist failure” occurred, very difficult to steer, very dangerous and could have caused wreak if actively driving when it failed. Dash light indicates steering assist failure. Appears this is an ungoing problem with ford flex vehicles since 2010 I do not see recall for my 2014 flex but same issues had recalls for flex up to 2013. I am reporting due that I believe this is a very serious issue on ford flex vehicles and has great potential to cause severe accident if occurring while driving. I believe there should be recalls for this issue requiring Ford to repair the safety risk.

The power steering system failed and requires brute force to turn the wheel. The software system was reflashed but this did not fix the problem. There was a recall for this issue from 2011-2013, but not for our year. There is not a warning light on.

Driving along and all of a sudden steering will be very difficult to turn - and there is play in the steering wheel. Not being able to turn safely, puts my family at risk. There are no warning lights or alarms that have shown up.

2 times now within 6 months my power steering has gone out. This is not power steering that makes it hard to steer. This is power steering going out which locks the steering wheel and leaves it impossible to steer the car. Fortunately I have been at home when this has happened and not on the road. I have managed to get it back after restarting the car several times, but I did not want to chance it. The first time I had it repaired at the dealer and thought it would no longer be an issue. I was so surprised and scared that it happened again. I was planning a long distance trip next week. I am so glad it didn't happen on the road. I paid just under 1000 dollars last time and thought it was fixed. The dealer said it is a different code this time and it will now be 3500 to fix the power assist failure. I looked online and I see others with Fords have this issue. My vehicle type was recalled for 2011-2013, but not my year - 2014. I am hoping you will look at this see there are safey issues. Thank you.

I was pulling out of my work parking lot and my power steering cut out completely. A warning came up on my dash saying something along the lines of steering assist system fault. I was able to get it back into the parking lot but had to really force the steering wheel. After turning the flex off and back on again everything worked fine. I was very fortunate to be driving at low speed at the time. Most of my driving is on a highway or the turnpike and could have been extremely dangerous. I had a shop look everything over and they weren't able to find any issues which has be constantly concerned that it could happen again at any time.

fuel pump relay module. Vehicle shut off during driving without warning forcing panic and moving to side of road and had to tow vehicle. No incident happened but after replacement no longer had issue.

Failure of the vehicle to restart and idle. Vehicle began to slow down, wouldn’t hold cruise speed setting, while driving on the highway; after exiting the Interstate in rural Colorado, it stalled completely. Dealer diagnosed a fuel pump control module failed and result is car only starts, short 8 second run, and shuts off. Replacement module solved the issue on my Ford Flex. Some Flex and similar models were issued recall for this item. Ford contacted, our Flex vin number is not on the recall as issued.

MY "FUEL PUMP MODULE" ON MY NON ECO BOOST 3.5 SUDDENLY STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THE SAME MODULE WAS RECALLED ON THE ECO BOOST 3.5 ENGINE. I HAD JUST DRIVEN 800 PLUS MILES IN TWO DAYS AND THE ENGINE WORKED PERFECTLY. TWO DAYS LATER, IT WOULD NOT START, WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. A DAY LATER IT STARTED. A DAY AFTER THAT IT WOULD NOT START, AGAIN WHILE PARKED. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE PART, AND IT HAS WORKED PERFECTLY EVER SINCE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A REAL ISSUE IF IT HAD FAILED WHILE DRIVING THROUGH WEST TEXAS DURING THE SUB ZERO FREEZING TEMPS.

Rear backup camera not working or distorted. This has a recall on the 2019 Ford Flex but none of the other years. If you look into this, this has been a major issue since 2013 with all of the Ford Flex vehicles.

Front Control Interface Module failure resulting in unresponsive climate controls and audio. The issue starts with the audio stopping, followed by the HVAC turning off and then followed by defrosters turning on full blast. No warning prior to these turning off. Safety issue is the full on heaters happened on a 90+ degree day with a full car. With windows down, the heat and humidity inside and outside the vehicle rose to unsafe levels. Initial diagnosis was a software update, then a PCM replacement and finally Front Control Interface Module replacement.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Flex. The contact stated that the dealer had previously replaced the master window switch; however, the failure recurred, preventing all four windows from rolling up or down as well as the sunroof from opening. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the body control module (BCM) needed to be replaced; however, the part was no longer manufactured. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

The vehicle was repaired under recall 20V-072. This was for the rear suspension toe link. The replacement rear suspension toe link on the right side has cracked. This was discovered when the right rear wheel was removed for tire replacement. I have a photo of the failed toe link part.

This vehicle has been on the recall list since Feb of 2020, every ,it was taken to Tamiami Ford Inc., in Naples Fl. about 4 or 5 times since I was notified by Car Fax a couple years ago and they always say the same thing " We dont gave the part ". So what is a customer supposed to do? But when I pay them for servicing the vehicle there are no problems having the Part.

I TOOK MY FORD FLEX IN FOR A RECALL FOR THE REAR TOE LINKS ON 1/6/21 AT 55,000 MILES SINCE THE RECALL WAS OPEN FOR MY CAR. EVEN THOUGH I WAS NOT EXPERIENCING ANY ISSUES. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ON MAY 1, THE REAR WOULD SWAY ON ME AND I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP THAT DID THE RECALL AND THEY FOUND THAT THE TOE LINKS WERE FAULTY. THAT HAD JUST BEEN REPLACED DUE TO THE RECALL. NOT SURE IF THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE RECALL ARE FAILING FOR EVERYONE.

I own a 2014 Ford Flex, and I have been experiencing recurring issues with the rear backup camera. The problems included the camera intermittently going in and out of service, displaying fuzzy or unclear images, and at times showing the video feed upside down. These issues closely resemble known problems covered under existing Ford recalls related to backup camera malfunctions caused by software update errors. Due to ongoing safety concerns, I took my vehicle to an authorized Ford dealership on August 21, 2025, for diagnosis and repair. The dealership confirmed the failure of the backup camera system. To resolve the issue, they diagnosed, replaced the rear backup camera, and reprogrammed the system. The total cost of the service was $638.78. Given the similarity of this failure to the symptoms covered under previous Ford recalls, I believe this issue may be related and warrants further review.

Within the last 90-120 days the back up camera on our 1014 Ford Flex has started not working properly. It sometimes works, sometimes only a video with now parking lines, sometimes nothing at all and a blank screen. Sometimes it does all of the above in the same instance.

HUGE safety issue with the heater turning on FULL BLAST, baking anyone inside the vehicle. I have had the issue for several years without any true solutions.

FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BELT BUCKLE GETS STUCK. WHEN THE PASSENGER TRIES TO UNBUCKLES THE SEAT BELT, IT DOES NOT UNBUCKLES AND PASSENGER GETS STUCK IN CAR SEAT. SOMETIME IT TAKES MORE THEN HALF AN HOUR AND MULTIPLE TIMES TRIES TO GET IT UNLOCK. FRUSTRATING. IT'S THE MANUFACTURER FAULTY BUCKLE. I CHECK AND I EVEN TOOK IT TO DEALER TO GET IT CHECK. THEY DON'T SEEM TO FIND THE ROOT CAUSE AND SAID OT WOULD COST ME AROUND $400 TO REPLACE. NOT HAPPY

THE WEBBING OF THE SEAT BELTS WAS FRAYED, THE INFLATABLE SEAT BELT COVER POPPED OUT, AND THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE INFLATABLE SEAT BELT DID NOT RETRACT, WHICH MADE THEM UNUSABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY FORD BREAUX BRIDGE (337-504-7340, LOCATED AT 2022 REES ST, BREAUX BRIDGE, LA 70517) WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THE SEAT BELTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURES WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.

MY CHILD WENT TO BUCKLE HERSELF IN, AND THE PLASTIC AROUND THE BUCKLE BROKE IN HER HAND, REVEALING FRAYED SEAT BELT MATERIAL. MY CHILD IS 7 YEARS OLD. THEY CAR WAS STATIONARY I AM THE ONLY OWNER AND I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE FLEX SINCE JAN OF 2015. THAT WAS THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SEATBELT. THE SEAT BELT ON THE OTHER SIDE HAD BEEN LOCKING FOR ABOUT A YEAR, BUT IT PULLED SLOWLY WAS NOT AN ISSUE. I ASKED FOR IT TO BE ADJUSTED AND WAS TOLD THE WHOLE MECHANISM NEEDED REPLACING. IT HAD LESS THAN 61654 MILES. THAT WAS WHAT WAS ON THE CAR WHEN I GOT IT BACK. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I WOULD HAVE TO $700 TO GET THEM FIXED. I CALLED FORD AND THEY ACTED LIKE I WAS JUST ASKING FOR MONEY. I AM LIVID THAT MY 3 YEAR OLD CAR HAS SEATBELT FLAWS AND THEY ARE NOT TAKING CARE OF IT. IF THE PLASTIC HAD NOT BROKEN THE FRAYED BELT STILL POSED A SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY CHILD! HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE DRIVING AROUND NOT KNOWING THAT THEY HAVE FRAYED SEATBELTS? MY CAR IS 1,650 MILES OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. THAT THEY ARE NOT FIXING IT, IS UNACCEPTABLE.

The back-up camera is malfunctioning. Either appear blank or will work for about 5 seconds then go blank. Took to mechanic and was confirmed as malfunctioning per codes, but wasn't able to completely diagnose.

Driver side door locks are malfunctioning. the system says the door is open when it is securely closed. The system won’t turn off interior lights which drains the battery. It also won’t allow locks to lock thinking the door is ajar. There are recalls for this issue on other Ford SUV’s but not for the Flex.

Rear view camera does not work permanently sometimes image is upside down or no image. A lot of times this happens while backing up creating a safety hazard as we can hit other cars or people.

IN MAY 2019 A SIDE VENT WINDOW OM THE PASSENGER SIDE SHATTERED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE. ON 2/14/2020, THE REAR CARGO AREA WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ALSO SHATTERED SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE WINDOW THAT SHATTERED ON 2/14/2020 WAS BOWED OUT AFTER IT SHATTERED SO THE BREAKAGE COULD NOT HAVE COME FROM OUTSIDE THE CAR.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Flex. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked next to the trash can, the contact exited the vehicle to put trash from the trunk into the trash can, the contact shifted the gear shifter but was unsure of what gear was selected. The contact stated that the vehicle started rolling forward. The contact was able to shift the gear shifter while the vehicle was moving forward and then shifted into reverse and was able to stop the vehicle upon striking a tree. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 80,000

2014 Ford Flex AWD with 122,032 miles. Tried to get on interstate and when I got to 55mph heard a loud bang and smoke rolling from underneath car. Pulled over to find that the front differential had blown it's seals and gear lube sprayed everywhere. Car has been gently driven 25,000 in last 4 years with only other issues. Rear Hatch drive motor. Blend door actuators and strut mounts. Which all happened at 110,254 miles. Great car but now $3100 for a major part defect that is from Ford itself. Maintenance schedule in owners manual says an I quote. "Do not add fluid or change no need to check guaranteed for life" why is it there is the same recall for it but my vin is not included. Makes no sense. Been regularly maintained even before intervals. No warning no sign. Just boom

THE VEHICLE KNOCKED ME OUT AND DRAGGED ME DOWN, RELEASING ME AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVEWAY. I WOKE UP TO SEE THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE OTHER SIDE OF MY U-SHAPED DRIVEWAY AND PROCEED FORWARD, HOPPING MY NEIGHBOR'S CURB, STOPPING IN THEIR BUSHES. MY SON WAS OKAY, BUT I SUSTAINED A BROKEN AND DISLOCATED RIGHT WRIST, AND MULTIPLE ROAD RASHES ON MY FEET, KNEES, RIGHT ARM, LEFT HAND REQUIRING SUTURES, RIGHT SIDE OF MY FACE AND A LACERATION IN MY SCALP REQUIRING SUTURES. THESE INJURIES WERE EXTREMELY PAINFUL AND I LOST THE USE OF BOTH HANDS FOR ONE MONTH. AT 8 WEEKS, I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE FULL USE OF MY LEFT THUMB AND I REQUIRE PHYSICAL THERAPY ON MY RIGHT WRIST AS IT IS STILL NOT BACK TO FULLY FUNCTIONING. We were experiencing an intermittent electrical issue where the vehicle would crank but not start every time. The vehicle was towed to the dealership on two separate occasions and the mechanic was unable to properly test the vehicle and/or recreate the problem. After some further research, I found a recall on slightly older VIN numbers for this model Flex. The recall for the Fuel Pump Control Module: Fuel system, gasoline: Delivery: Fuel pump Recall date 2016-08-24 Recall no. 16V621000 Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS and Lincoln MKT vehicles equipped with 3.5L GTDI Ecoboost engines and 2013-2015 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor vehicles. A component within the fuel pump electric module (PEM) may overheat causing a loss of electrical power to the fuel pump. Recall consequence: A loss of power to the fuel pump will cause the engine to stall or prevent the vehicle from starting, increasing the risk of a crash. Recall action: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel PEM part number and replace the fuel PEM, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on December 1, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S31. In addition, I located a forum of owners who were experiencing the same issues. I would urge the consideration of expanding the coverage of recalls to include more VINs since the risk for engine shutdown could cause a crash.

We own a 2014 Ford Flex, and have been experiencing persistent problems with its rear backup camera system. We have been having this problem for close to 3 yrs now. The camera works intermittently every now and then. Sometimes, we get a message “Rear view camera unavailable. Contact Dealership”. There are times when it works and suddenly turns off while backing up. On multiple occasions, this has led to several close calls and near accidents when backing out of parking spaces, especially around small kids in school parking lots when I go to drop off and pick up my own kids from school. I often have to park my car far away or wait until the parking lot is less crowded to back up my car to avoid any accidents. It poses a serious safety risk when reversing in parking lots and other confined spaces. I have been unable to rely on the camera's display and Ford Flex being a big car, it is very inconvenient and dangerous to the people around my car while backing up. We did take it to the dealership sometime about an year ago to get it fixed and were charged $200 to just take a look at it. And, the dealer came back to say that there was no problem with the software and said that it looked like a problem with the wiring and quoted us close to $1000 +. The rear backup camera is an integral safety feature, allowing drivers to have a clear view of what's behind them when reversing. What is particularly troubling is that Ford has issued recalls for similar issues in other Ford models, but the Ford Flex seems to be absent from the list. I have been hearing this issue with other Ford Flex owners in my neighborhood and online about the same issue with many Ford Flex owners as well. It seems unfair and unjust that owners of Ford Flex Flex vehicles are left to grapple with these dangerous problems without any resolution from the manufacturer.

I have a 2014 Ford Flex. My axle shaft came undone while driving. My Ford flex was manufactured 07 of 13 my mechanic said that there's a recall for your front axle shaft on the passenger side and it falls within the guidelines of the affected vehicles but Ford says that it's not covered. My vin was never added to the recall and it’s the same exact issue that the others had for that year.

Driving down road at 45MPH, vehicle lost power, motor quite running. Due to being on 4 lane divided road, and cars all around, I quickly hit my hazard lights, put it in neutral and coasted best I could and was able to turn on a side road to safety. This was very dangerous. Dash lights were on, no warning lights, messages before, during or after event. Tried restarting vehicle and it cranked away. Figured out had to repush the push start button to keep it from cranking away longer. Towed to local Ford dealer. They determined cause to be Fuel Pump Driver Module failed, (explains engine stop since there was no fuel supply, and needed replacement. In addition I had another issue, they found water pump was leaking out weep hole. I then discovered they built the water pump into the engine block, behind the timing chain. It takes 13 hours to replace, and if you don't replace, the water goes into the engine oil. Very bad design, knowing it would need to be replaced. Cost over $2500 and 1 week to change a water pump! Ridiculous. I know a class action lawsuit has been filed-while not a safety issue directly, I think many people will not change it (due to expense), and then the engine blows up while driving creating a safety hazard.

The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH when the contact heard a noise coming from the vehicle and shortly after lost control of the vehicle resulting in the contact hitting a parked vehicle with no air bags deploying. There were 3 injured, the son and daughter sustained bruising over arms and legs. The mother sought medical treatment and sustained injuries to the back. A police report was taken and the vehicle was towed to a tow lot then towed to an insurance lot where it was awaiting diagnosis. The contact stated no warning lights were illuminated. MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING ON A 2-LANE HIGHWAY IN OUR VEHICLE AT THE APPROXIMATE SPEED OF 55 MPH. OUR FORD FLEX WAS EQUIPPED WITH A FACTORY SUNROOF, WHICH WAS IN THE CLOSED POSITION, AND THE SUNSHADE WAS OPEN. AS WE WERE TRAVELING DOWN THIS ROAD, WITH NO TRAFFIC COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, OR IN FRONT OF US, WE HEARD A SHOTGUN SOUND COME FROM ABOVE OUR HEADS AND GLASS FLEW EVERYWHERE IN OUR VEHICLE, INCLUDING IN THE BACK WHERE OUR 5-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS SITTING. OUR SUNROOF AND LITERALLY EXPLODED!!!! WE CLOSED THE SUNSHADE AND IMMEDIATELY TRAVELED TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. Without warning, the vehicle's power steering stopped working in an intersection while turning. The hazard lights came on automatically and I used my full body strength to steer the car out of the intersection. Inspection showed a computer module failure within the steering rack. Because the computer module is built into the steering rack, the whole steering rack needed to be replaced. This was a critical repair and cost over $3500.

I have a 2014 ford flex limited ecoboost and I’m having some issues with the back up camera intermittently working and goes black and says to bring it to the dealer. After doing a tiny bit of research on this issue I’m seeing that there are a couple different years that have already recalled this camera from this model. I also have looked into a replacement and noticed that it’s the same exact camera on these models that have an open recall. I’m also a member of a Facebook ford flex group and this issue is much more widespread than they want us to believe. Most people have had to replace them or pay a ton for the dealer to replace. It’s a very big safety issue since this vehicle has pretty terrible visibility out the rear of the car. I’m also having an issue with the front collision sensor as the adaptive cruise control has never really worked. I’ve also noticed a lot of Folks posting about this in this Facebook group.

The contact stated that while her wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, she became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly after the steering wheel jerked in the right direction. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a dividing wall on the side of the roadway. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was not filed, and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with both control arms. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, who was able to duplicate the failure but was unable to provide a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Safety Recall 15S18. The contact also stated that before the control arm failure, upon entering the vehicle and attempting to start the ignition, the vehicle failed to start as intended. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The contact repaired the vehicle herself upon replacing the fuel pump control module. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Safety Recall 16S31. The manufacturer was notified of both failures but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The snuglock technology is a joke on this seat. It doesn’t matter if it’s latch or seatbelt installed the lock off isn’t holding it in position. Over time it becomes loose and the seat is moving more than an inch at the base. I’m having to tighten my seat every other day to ensure that my child’s seat is secure. I first complained to Graco in November and they wanted to send a replacement seat, but other complaints say even those have the same problem. I reached out to Graco again today stating I no longer want this seat.

Approximately 2 months ago car would not start. Towed to dealer on Friday. Dealer evaluated it on Monday but car resumed starting. Retrieved car. This morning problem returned. Having already done a lot of research on this apparently common issue it seems most of the time it is the fuel pump control module located behind the plastic trim on the passenger side B pillar. A replacement part was acquired from a Ford Parts Dealer and installed into the car. Car starts and runs fine now.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE STARTED UP AGAIN WITHOUT INCIDENT. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED A THIRD TIME, THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLE, WAITED A FEW MOMENTS, AND THE VEHICLE STARTED WITHOUT INCIDENT. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED THE FOURTH TIME, THE SAME BATTERY OPERATION WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL AND THE CONTACT HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURES WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND VERIFIED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

WE HAVE A 2014 FORD FLEX WITH 41,000 MILES. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TWO DAYS AFTER GETTING HER OIL CHANGED AT GALPIN FORD AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. SHE CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID TURN OFF THE CAR AND WAIT A MINUTE AND IT WILL RESET IT SELF. SHE DID THAT AND IT WORKED. TWO DAYS LATER IT WENT OUT COMPLETELY SO SHE TRIED TO TURN IT OFF AND ON AGAIN THAT'S WHEN THE STABILITY LIGHT WENT ON AND SAID IT NEEDS SERVICE. THE PERSON AT FORD TELLING HER HOW TO RESET IT TELLS ME THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS. THEY WANT ME TO SPEND OVER TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN!!!!!!! 2014 FORD FLEX HAS A FEW RECALLS; MY CAR DIDN'T GET THE NOTIFICATION BUT ARE EXPERIENCING RECALL PROBLEMS. MY CAR WON'T START DUE TO FUEL MODULE (FUEL PUMP) THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED. ONE THING WE ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT IS GAS MILEAGE THE CAR LOST 20%-30% SINCE 2017. FORD MOTOR MANDATED US TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALER ONLY. FORD STATED THEY WOULD PAY ALL COSTS 9/19/19; I ALSO HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE LOCATION. NOW FORD MOTOR COMPANY STATED THEY WILL ONLY PAY A SMALL PORTION OF THE AMOUNT. THE DEALER HAS CONTACTED ME AND STATED THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL NOT PAY ANYTHING. THE PART HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OVER 75,000 2014 FORD FLEX. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AND THEY ARE PUTTING PRESSURE ON ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. A REPAIR HAS NOT BEEN MADE. TWICE NOW THE TRANSMISSION AND BRAKES HAVE FAILED GOING DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY. WHEN OUR FLEX HAS BEEN GOING DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY AND THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION MAKES A GRINDING SOUND AND THE BRAKES DO NOT RESPOND AT ALL. ONCE ABOUT A MONTH AGO WE WERE ABLE TO STOP THE CAR USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE BEHICLE BEFORE IT ENTERED THE STREET. TODAY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT USED BY A YOUNGER DRIVER AND THE CAR ENTERED THE STREET AT FULL SPEED GOING OVER A CURB AND HITTING A MAILBOX AFTERWHICH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF THEN BACK ON AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. IT IS INCREDIBLY UNSAFE TO HAVE BRAKES AND TRANSMISSION FAIL IN UNISON.

THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED A SECOND TIME AND DIAGNOSED THAT CARBON MONOXIDE WAS LEAKING FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WHEN SHE STRUCK THE DEER THE THE AIRBAGS (BOTH FRONT AIRBAGS) DIDN'T DEPLOY AND THE SEATBELTS DID NOT LOCK AS DESIGNED. BASED ON MY RESEARCH OF YOUR SITE AND THE NHTSA GUIDELINES ON THE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS...I BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM. ANYTHING BEING STRUCK AT THAT SPEED, SHOULD'VE DEPLOYED THE AIRBAGS AND MY WIFE'S APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES AT THAT SPEED SHOULD HAVE LOCKED THE SAFETY RESTRAINTS. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END, TO INCLUDE ENGINE COMPARTMENT DAMAGE AND THE LOSS OF BOTH HEADLIGHTS OPERABILITY.

THIS WILL NOT ALLOW THE DOORS TO BE LOCKED, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE REACHES 15 MPH. IT HAS ALSO CAUSED THE LIGHTS TO STAY ON INSIDE THE CAR, DRAINING THE BATTERY.

MY 2014 FORD FLEX SEL IS A LEASED VEHICLE WITH 14,000 MILES ON IT. I WENT TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED AND THE TIRES ROTATED TODAY. THE FRONT TWO TIRES, WHICH ARE NOW ON THE BACK HAVE CHUNKS OF RUBBER FALLING OFF. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE TIRES ARE IN "THE RED". I AM SUPPOSED TO TURN THIS CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN FEBRUARY OF 2017. I AM GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I LEASED THE CAR FROM TO SEE IF THEY CAN HELP ME, AS TIRES SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 14,000 MILES WITH NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS.

THIS TIME THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED ME TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN TO SEE IF THAT FIXED THE ISSUE.
