I was at a stop light and heard a loud noise like a shotgun blast. I felt a concussion hit me in the chest. I thought I had been shot at, then thought I was possibly rear ended but nobody was behind me. I noticed the airbag light was on, the hazards were on and I couldn't shut them off, and the seatbelts were, and still are all locked. But no airbag deployed. There was a smell in the cab that vaguely smelled like a cross between gunpowder and ozone. It's fortunate that I was not at freeway speed.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at 65 MPH with his friend in the front passenger's seat, the vehicle crashed into the driver's side of another vehicle that was making a left turn. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact stated that he hit his head against the ceiling, and hit his chest against the steering wheel, which caused him to have tense muscles and nerves. The contact's friend sustained a whiplash and twisted his back. Both the contact and his friend did not receive medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the residence of the contact's friend's sister. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 214,000.

2007 GMC SIERRA- Consumers writing in about the recall notice and repair of the Takata airbag. Consumer stated " I made an appointment with the dealer." " After waiting in a long line to check in. the serviceman told me that to replace the airbag they would have to remove the dashboard and it most likely will crack during the procedure and the replacement cost is at my expense. He also said that he is not aware of any problem resulting if I choose not to have it replaced. If you can guarantee that replacing the airbag will not crack the dashboard or that you will cover the cost of a new dashboard, I will be happy to honor the recall notice." Recall notice attached.

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED. NO TRAFFIC ON ROAD WAS ABLE TO COAST TO STOP WITHOUT ACCIDENT. QUICK INSPECTION SHOWED SEVERE BRAKE FLUID LEAK. AFTER TOWING, REPAIR SHOP FOUND RUPTURED HYDRAULIC BRAKE LINE DUE TO CORROSION, AND MULTIPLE OTHER SIMILAR WEAKENED SPOTS. ALL HARD LINES REPLACED. MANUFACTURER DECLINED WARRANTY ASSISTANCE. OF NOTE, VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW, WITH NO HEAVY DUTY USE, NOR HIGH MILEAGE. ORIGINAL PARTS IN MY POSSESSION FOR VERIFICATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE PATCHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THIS WAS THE THIRD INSTANCE OF THE FAILURE OCCURRING ON THE VEHICLE. WILDCAT CHEVROLET (5525 HOPKINSVILLE RD, CADIZ, KY) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THE FAILURE, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

BRAKE LINES FAILED ON MY 2007 GMC 1500 AND MY 2007 GMC 2500. IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GMC VEHICLES FROM 2003 TO 2009. WHY WASN'T THESE VEHICLES RECALLED FOR THIS. I WAS TOLD THAT GMC WAS OFFERING A DISCOUNTED PRICE FOR FAILED BRAKE LINES, BUT THE DEALER CHARGED ME FULL PRICE. $1,667.00. THE DISCOUNTED PRICE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE $500.00.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle independently shut off. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact jiggled the key while it was still in the ignition cylinder and the vehicle restarted. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but was a recurring failure. The contact stated that the failure was also occurring at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the ignition switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that there was a recall for the failure and referred the contact to a dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called a dealer and was informed that the vehicle was not under recall. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V640000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 183,000.

THERE SEEMS TO BE A RELAY PROBLEM IN THE FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD. THE FIRST PROBLEM HAPPENED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. THE TRUCK WAS PARKED. IT HAD NO POWER. IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER AND HAD NO INSTRUMENT PANEL. CHECKED FUSE BANK AND SWAPPED RELAYS AROUND FOR THE START RELAY. AFTER SWAPPING AROUND A COUPLE OF TIMES, IT CRANKED. IT RAN OK FOR THREE MONTHS. NEXT PROBLEM OCCURRED WITH MY WIFE DRIVING. WITH NO WARNING IT LOST POWER AND DIED. IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. AFTER TRIAL AND ERROR, I SWAPPED AROUND RELAYS FOR THE CRANK & RUN RELAY. IT STARTED. NOTE, I DID NOT REPLACE ANY RELAYS. I JUST SWAPPED THE OUT WITH OTHER RELAYS. WHEN SWAPPING RELAYS, THE OTHER FUNCTIONS WORKED AS WELL. THIS SECOND TIME WAS VERY DANGEROUS AS MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT JUST DIED. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT WITH IT WORKING FINE FOR THE MOMENT.

AS TRUCK WAS STARTED AFTER ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND BEING PULL OUT OF GARAGE ON11/10/15 THERE WAS A FIRE UNDER THE FRONT OF TRUCK. WHEN THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED, THE MECHANIC SAW THAT THE WIRING WAS EXPOSED DUE TO CONTINUOUS SCRAPING AGAINST TRUCK FRAME.

The truck in question has LESS than 163k miles and burn a quart of oil a day, loss of power. There HAS been a recall on this SAME MOTOR 5.3 but while this year was ACKNOWLEDGED it was NOT a part of a recall EXCEPT for passenger side air bag that was replaced at dealership and damaged dash in process. Not it is NON DRIVE ABLE due to oil pressure issues

WHILE STOPPING AT SLOW SPEEDS ON DRY ROADS MY ABS BRAKES KICK IN CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO TAKE LONGER TO STOP THAN NORMAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL ALSO DROPS TOWARD THE FLOOR CAUSING ME TO THINK I HAVE LOST MY BRAKES COMPLETELY. THIS HAS JUST STARTED,AND HAS HAPPENED TO ME NUMEROUS TIMES. I NEVER NOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN TO ME CAUSING ME TO BE ON EDGE EVERY TIME I HAVE TO STOP. I READ ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH GM TRUCKS AND WENT AND SPOKE WITH MY LOCAL DEALER'S SERVICE MANAGER. THE DASH ON THE 2007 GMC SIERRA HAS CRACKED. THIS COULD HAVE AN AFFECT ON THE AIR BAG WHEN DEPLOYED. THE AIR BAG COULD BE CUT BY THE PIECES OF PLASTIC. THIS ALSO SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COST AROUND 1000 DOLLARS JUST TO REPLACE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER TIME DUE TO POOR MANUFACTURING PLASTIC PRODUCT.

MULTIPLE CRACKS ON THE DASH BOARD. THE EDGES OF THE PLASTIC ARE VERY SHARP AND COULD BE HAZARDOUS IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION. THE FIRST CRACK APPEARED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ON THE JUST ABOVE THE AIR BAG. IT IS NOW CRACKING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. STEERING POSITIONING / ANGLE SENSOR, FAULT THAT COULD SHUT YOUR VEHICLE DOWN WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE A 2007 GMC SIERRA AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE EXACT SAME PART, THE STEERING POSITION/ ANGLE SENSOR. I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR MORE THAN 2 MONTHS TO GET A DEALERSHIP TO ORDER ME THE PART TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BUT ONLY TO BE TOLD THE PART HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED MY GENERAL MOTORS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS VEHICLE STILL ON THE ROAD THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE AND GM DISCONTINUED THIS PART.

07 GMC SIERRA(NEW BODY STYLE) WAS PARKED. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS PLACED IN REVERSE AND THE STEERING WHEEL SLIGHTLY TURNED THERE WAS A LOUD POP UNDERNEATH THE FRONT END. THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL BUT THE LEFT WOULD. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INNER TIE ROD BECAME UNSCREWED FROM THE RACK STEERING. NEW INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS WERE INSTALLED AND THE TRUCK WAS RE-ALIGNED. I BOUGHT A NEW HEAVY DUTY 2006 1/2 TON PICKUP TRUCK. IT PRESENTLY HAS FIFTY THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED MILES ON IT. I JUST WENT TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED AND WAS TOLD THE IDLER ARM ON THE STEERING ROD WAS WORN OUT. WHEN I ASKED FURTHER QUESTIONS THE TIRE GUY SAID THIS WAS REAL COMMON IN GM PRODUCTS. I WENT TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT IS OK FOR NOW BUT WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED IN THE NEXT YEAR OR SO. I AM 60 YEARS OLD AND HAVE OWNED NEW AND USED VEHICLES ALL MY LIFE AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. IF THIS IDLER ARM ON THE STEERING SHOULD FAIL THERE WOULD BE NO WAY TO CONTROL THE TRUCK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, A LOUD BANGING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON INSPECTION, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE LEAF SPRING FRACTURED AND WAS HANGING ON TOP OF THE AXLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWLY DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE LEAF SPRINGS WERE FRACTURED. THE LEAF SPRINGS AND BRACKETS WERE REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

THIS IS A CONSTANT AND ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY OR ROAD AT SPEEDS ABOVE 15 OR 20 MPH THE FRONT SUSPENSION WILL SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN HITTING BRIDGE EXPANSIONS, ANY SORT OF ROAD BUMP, MAN HOLE COVERS WITH MINIMAL EDGES, ETC. THE VIOLENT SHAKING IN THE SUSPENSION WILL THEN STOP AND NOT BE FELT DURING NORMAL SMOOTH HIGHWAY OR ROAD TRAVEL BUT RECURS EACH AND EVERY TIME ROAD BUMPS ARE ENCOUNTERED. THE SHAKING IS VIOLENT AND FEELS AS THOUGH THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR NOW. I OWN A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500 CREW CAB. I HAVE SOME ISSUES WHEN I START MY TRUCK IN THE MORNINGS, I GET A TAPPING NOISE AS IF THERE ARE LIFTERS STUCK OR NOT GETTING SUFFICIENT OIL. I HAVE ALWAYS USED THE RECOMMENDED AC OIL FILTERS THAT I PURCHASE FROM THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP PARTS CENTER SO I KNOW THAT THE FILTER IS NOT THE PROBLEM. I AM A MECHANIC SO I KNOW WHAT AN ENGINE IS SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE. THE NOISE WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE ENGINE WARMS UP WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MINUTES AND IS VERY ANNOYING. I AM CURRENTLY DEPLOYED TO KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN IN SUPPORT OF OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM AND SCHEDULE TO RETURN TO THE US IN LATE MARCH 2012. I SPOKE TO MY WIFE TODAY AND SHE SAID THAT EVERY TIME SHE START THE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME THE NOISE IS THERE. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD ANSWER MY QUESTION CONCERNING THIS ISSUE. 5.3 VORTEC WITH AFM IS NOW BURNING OIL AT THE RATE OF 1 QT EVERY 800-1200 MILES. THE MORE HIGHWAY DRIVING THE MORE OIL IT BURNS. GM IS VERY AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND JUST REFUSES TO MAKE THE PROPER REPAIRS VOLUNTEERLY, BUT IS MORE THAN HAPPY TO PUT THE CUSTOMER THROUGH ALL KINDS OF BS. WHEN BRINGING IT IN TO "PHILIPS BUICK GMC" FRUITLAND PARK FLORIDA, I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET A COMPARABLE VEHICHLE IN EXCHANGE WHILE MINE IS WORKED ON. I GET THEIR AND THEY TRY TO GIVE ME A COMPACT SUV. I AM 6'2", 200LBS. AND DRIVE A 2007 4 DOOR SIERRA 1500 THAT I USE FOR MY COMMERCIAL BUSINESS EVERY DAY FOR WORK. THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS. I SHUT MY BUSINESS DOWN TO HALF OF WHAT IT WAS IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD LOOSING MY TRUCK FOR A COUPLE DAYS TO WARANTY REPAIRS. I WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A FULL SIZED TRUCK OR SUV. I STILL HAVE TO HAUL PRODUCT FOR MY BUSINESS JUST TO KEEP IT 50% RUNNING FOR THOSE COUPLE DAYS. I ALSO HAVE 4, 200+LBS GUYS TO HAUL AROUND FOR WORK AS WELL, AND A SPECIAL NEEDS DAUGHTER WHO NEEDS THE ADITIONAL SPACE OF A FULL SIZED VEHICHLE. I PAID OVER $40,000 FOR MY TRUCK. ITS NOT MY FAULT THAT I HAVE A WARRANTY ISSUE AND IT HAS TO BE WORKED ON. SO MY BUSINESS, FAMILY, AND SELF SHOULDNT BE THE ONE WHO IS INCONVIENANCED FOR A GM WARRANTY ISSUE. ON APRIL 13 2014 MY TRUCK WAS LEAKING FUEL TOO BAD TO CONTINUE DRIVING. I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND COULD NEVER FIND WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. THEN ON APRIL 13TH WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME I SMELLED GAS AND HAD TO PULL OVER, FRIGHTENED THAT THE TRUCK MIGHT CATCH FIRE AND EXPLODE. IT SEEMS THERE IS A LEAK AROUND THE FUEL TANK. The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that there was a crack on the passenger’s side dashboard close to the air bag housing. The contact stated that there was also a crack on the driver's side above the instrument panel and in the middle of the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed her that the manufacturer would not be responsible for the dashboard repairs in 2019. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the cracks have progressed over the years. The contact stated that she received NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags) and the vehicle was taken to Reliable Buick GMC (400 Automall Dr, Roseville, CA 95661) for the recall repair and she was informed that she had to sign a waiver for the dashboard damages in order to replace the air bag. The contact stated that she was informed that there was a possibility of the dashboard cracking during the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.

THIS IS THE E-MAIL I SENT TO GM REGARDING THE PROBLEM WITH THE BACK SEAT AND HOW I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. HERE IS THE E-MAIL: I HAVE A 2007 SIERRA GMC WITH A BACK SEAT THAT HAS MOVEMENT (PLAY) IN IT DUE TO WHAT GM CALLS A "RATTLE CLIP" BREAKING. I QUESTIONED THE DEALERSHIP WHEN TAKING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A DIFFERENT REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS JUST A RATTLE CLIP. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO ADDED THAT IN YEAR 1995 THERE WAS AN IDENTICAL FAILURE WITH THIS MODEL TYPE. THE CIRCUIT BREAKER HAD TO BE REPLACED TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. MY DASH HAS LARGE GAPS/CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD. THESE RANGE FROM THE WINDSHIELD ALL THE WAY THE FRONT PIECE OF TRIP. THE DASH IS COMPLETELY SEPARATED. RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE DASH, AROUND THE AIRBAGS, AND THE OTHER SMALLER PARTS OR THE DASH ARE CRACKED TOO. I USE A SUN SHIELD, SO THAT IS NOT THE CASE. MY DAUGHTER AND I HAVE BOTH CUT OUR HANDS ON THE DASH. SHE WAS SO SURPRISED WHEN SHE GOT IN THE TRUCK THAT SHE ASKED IF I HAD A WRECK, AND THEN RAN HER HAND OVER THE DASH AND CUT HER PALM AD TWO FINGERS. I ALSO CUT MY HAND WHILE TRYING TO CLEAN IT SO THAT STUFF DOES NOT DROP DOWN THE CRACK, SUCH AS DIRT OR DUST, CAN'T THAT START A FIRE WITH THE WIRES AND THE HEATER DOWN THERE? ANOTHER THING IS MY VENTS DON'T WOK LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO. THE DASH IS SO BROKEN YOU CAN HEAR SOUNDS OF PLASTIC VIBRATING AND BLOWING IN THE VENTS. HVAC SYSTEM BECAME OPERATIONAL WITH THE IGNITION TURNED OFF FOR AN UNKNOWN PERIOD OF TIME WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE. RELAY RESISTOR MODULE OVERHEATED CAUSING MELTING OF THE RESISTOR AND CIRCUIT BOARD. TRUCK CABIN AND VICINITY AROUND THE TRUCK HAD A STRONG SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC. TRUCK CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE. WAS ONLY ABLE TO TURN OFF THE HVAC SYSTEM AND STOP THE BURNING BY DISCONNECTING THE WIRING HARNESS. DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE BLOWER MOTOR, RESISTOR, MODULE CONNECTOR AND RELAY. TRUCK RANDOMLY DOESNT START. NO CRANK NO START BECAME MORE FREQUENT AND HAS NOW DIED AT HWY SPEEDS 3-4 TIMES. STABILITRAK LIGHT, TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALL STAY ON AND THE MOST RECENT LIGHT IS NOW THE ABS LIGHT. NOW IT'S TO A THE POINT OF HARDLY STARTING AT ALL. THE KEY HAS RECENTLY BECAME VERY HARD TO TURN AS WELL. ORIGINALLY THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD CYCLE MULTIPLE TIMES , AND INTERIOR LIGHTS DASH LIGHTS WOULD ALL CYCLE AT FAST RATE ALL AT ONCE. WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED I WAS ALWAYS ABLE TO EVENTUALLY GET THE TRUCK TO START A SHORT TIME AFTER. ENGINE POWER REDUCED IS ANOTHER SPECIFIC WARNING THAT APPEARS NOW THAT IT'S NOW DYING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HWY. EACH INCIDENT WHEN THE TRUCK HAS STALLED IT'S BEEN WHEN DRIVING AT LEAST 60 MPH.OR MORE. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR TO REPAIR AND PAID TO HAVE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE REPLACED ON 02/15/2016, ALMOST 7 MONTHS LATER THE ISSUE HAS RETURNED. ATTEMPTED TO HAVE DEALERSHIP THAT REPLACED PART LOOK AT BUT TOLD THERE IS ONLY A 12,000 MILE OR 12 MONTH WARRANTY AND VEHICLE HAS REACHED OVER THE 12,000 SO NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. WE WERE ALSO INFORMED THE WAS ONLY A "TEMPORARY FIX, AND THE BCM DOESN'T FIX THE BREAKS." DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THE SECOND PART THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED,WHICH WE DECLINED, WOULD HAVE PERMANENTLY FIX THE ISSUE. PART HAD ALREADY BEEN PURCHASED AT $10 AND WAS GOING TO BE CHARGED BY DEALERSHIP $150 FOR THEM TO PROVIDE AND INSTALL. CALLED GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR ASSISTANCE TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE. REPAIRED. 1000 MILES LATER LOW OIL LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP. NO ISSUE FOUND. TRUCK JUST BURNING OIL! *TR THE TRUCK KEEPS USING 2 TO 3 QUARTS OF OIL DEALER WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. CALL GM THEY ADVISE TO GO TO DEALERSHIP AND DO OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. DID THIS TAKING IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP EVERY 500 MILES TO HAVE OIL CHECKED. USED 2-1/2 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. TOLD DEALER THIS WAS NOT NORMAL TO FIX MY TRUCK. DEALER ADVISED GM WOULD NOT FIX MY TRUCK BECAUSE THIS IS NORMAL USAGE. IT IS NOW USING ABOUT 3 QUARTS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. GM TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO DEALER TO HAVE ANOTHER OIL CONSUMPTION TEST DONE. WE SEE THEY HIDE PROBLEMS WELL, AS WAS THE LAST RECALL. HOW ABOUT GETTING THEM TO ADDRESS OR FIX THIS ISSUE. THEY ARE STILL ADVERTISING THE AFM ENGINE , AND RAISING THE NORMAL OIL USAGE FROM A QUART TO 2 QUARTS. AS ANYONE CAN SEE WITH THE LATEST RECALLS THEY WILL HIDE OR NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT THEIR BOTTOM LINE. NOT THE CUSTOMER. SEE HOW MANY CHANGES AND SERVICE BULLETINS HAVE BEEN ISSUED DUE TO THIS OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. MY GM CASE # 71-1118075589. THEY TEND TO CLOSE THESE CASE NUMBERS QUICK. AND THEN THEY ASSIGN YOU ANOTHER CASE NUMBER EACH TIME YOU CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE TO HIDE THE FACT THEY HAVE PROBLEMS. WHEN DEALER DOES OIL CONSUMPTION I FIND THEY DO NOT SHOW ANYTHING BACK TO GM OR ATTACH A RECORD TO YOUR VIN #. LAST COUPLE OF TIME I SPOKE TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ME EVER HAVING AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. AND MY LAST CASE NUMBER DID NOT SHOW UP IN THEIR SYSTEM. 2007 GMC CREWCAB SIERRA WITH 5.3 LITER ,AUTO, HAS HAD THREE PLASTIC FUEL LINE FAILURES IN LAST TWO YEARS. AFTER DETECTING A FUEL ODOR, GAS WAS FOUND TO BE DRIPPING/SPRAYED IN THE AREA OF THE EXHAUST PIPE. APPEARS TO BE A FIRE RISK. ONE OF THE ELECTRICALLY POWERED, FOLDING EXTERNAL MIRROR ASSEMBLIES BECAME INOPERABLE ON MY 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500 PICKUP TRUCK WHICH LED TO THE ENTIRE MIRROR ASSEMBLY BECOMING LOOSE. THE RESULT WAS THAT THE MIRROR ASSEMBLY WILL SLIGHTLY MOVE BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO ERRONEOUSLY SENSE MOVEMENT OF HIS VEHICLE OR ERRONEOUS MOVEMENT OF AN ADJACENT VEHICLE. THIS FALSE SENSING OF VEHICLE MOVEMENT IS VERY DISTRACTING, CAUSING A DRIVER TO LOSE FOCUS ON THE ROAD AND TO LOSE FOCUS ON THE OPERATION OF HIS VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT A RATE OF 20 MPH AND STARTED STOPPING AND NOTICE THE BRAKES WHERE GOING OUT. I HAD THEN LOST BRAKE PRESSURE ALTOGETHER. USED THE PARKING BRAKE TO GET STOPPED AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL. THE TRUCK AFTER 40 MILES STARTED SCREECHING FROM THE FRONT WHEN GOING AROUND CORNERS,AND WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALER SAM SWOPE, I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS NORMAL, ON THE WAY TO TOWN THE TRUCK STALLED AND WAS TOWED FOR REPAIR TURNS OUT THE COIL PLUG SHORTED OUT WIRES WERE REPLACED, NEXT DAY THE TRUCK STALLED AGAIN TOWED AGAIN TURNS OUT THAT BOOTH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WERE PLUGGED,BOOTH REPLACED. ENTERING THE FREEWAY WHEN ACCELERATED THE TRUCK DID NOT RESPOND, I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANNY, NOW I HAVE A CLUNKING NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE TRUCK THEY CLAIM NOT TO BE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, TIRES WORN OUT AT 27,000 MILES TURNS OUT ALIGNMENT PROBLEM BUT NO CAUSE FOR THE SQUEALING TIRES SENSE FIRST REPORTED THE FIRST DAY OF OWNER SHIP. I WAS PULLED OVER BY MY LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR DEFECTIVE BRAKE LAMPS 3 TIMES. I HAVE GONE TO MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIPS AND THEY REPLACE THE SWITCHES 4 TIMES. I THEN GOT PULLED OVER AGAIN SO I BROUGHT IT TO LEMAY BUICK AND GMC IN KENOSHA WI. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH 2 TIMES. WHEN YOU PUSH ON THE PEDDLE AND LET UP JUST A HAIR THE BRAKE LIGHT GO INOP. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE I COULD GET REAR ENDED AT ANYTIME WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS. I HOOKED UP A LIGHT ON MY DASH TO LET ME KNOW WHEN THEY ARE OR ARE NOT WORKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK 95% OF THE TIME GOING 70MPH AND SLOWING DOWN TO 55MPH THE LIGHTS DON'T EVEN BLINK. THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF IF YOU PRESS THE BRAKE AND THEN SLIGHTLY DEPRESS THE PEDAL, ALTHOUGH THE BRAKES ARE STILL APPLIED THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT ON. I FIRST NOTICED IT WHILE BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY AT NIGHT, AND I DID NOT THINK IT WAS A SAFETY CONCERN UNTIL I SAW MY WIFE STOP FROM 45 MPH AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS FLASHED AND THEN TURNED OFF UNTIL SHE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY THOUGHT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCK, AND REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. THE PROBLEM DID NOT GO AWAY. THE SAME DEFECT IS ON EVERY TRUCK ON THE CAR LOT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TWICE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER APPROXIMATELY 15 TIMES SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED IN AUGUST OF 2007. THE DEALER TURNED THE ROTORS AND CHANGED THE BRAKES AND THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED AND THE BED OF THE VEHICLE SEPARATED FROM THE FRAME. THE ENGINE LIFTERS FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY AS WELL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,100.

I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500 PICKUP FROM LONE STAR PONTIAC BUICK GMC IN MCKINNEY, TEXAS ON 11/18/06. ONLY AFTER BEING PULLED OVER FOR SPEEDING DID I REALIZE THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT CALIBRATED CORRECTLY AFTER THE DEALERSHIP HAD INSTALLED AN AFTER-MARKET LIFT KIT AND LARGE TIRES AND WHEELS ON THIS TRUCK. I DISCOVERED BY CALLING ANOTHER GM DEALER THAT BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT CALIBRATED CORRECTLY IT CAUSES THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM TO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP WILLFULLY AND WITHOUT REGARD TO THE SAFETY OF ITS CUSTOMERS SOLD VEHICLES LIKE MINE THAT HAD BRAKE SYSTEMS THAT DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE GENERAL MANAGER CONFIRMED THAT THEY HAVE SOLD MANY TRUCKS LIKE THIS SO IT IS REASONABLE TO ASSUME THERE ARE MANY TRUCKS ON THE ROAD NOW WHICH MAY HAVE FAULTY ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEMS. I AM CONCERNED FOR EVERYONE ELSE THAT PURCHASED ONE OF THESE TRUCKS AND AREN'T AWARE THEIR BRAKES DON'T WORK RIGHT.
