The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact about the disclaimer about the dashboard possibly being damaged. The dealer informed the contact that there were no loaner vehicles, but then called back and offered a loaner. The manufacturer was contacted and filed a clai,m and referred the contact to another local dealer. The contact called the other local dealer, Ferman Chevrolet of Tarpon Springs (43520 US Hwy 19 N, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689), who confirmed there was a disclaimer related to the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I have contacted Blaise Alexander in muncy pa 17756 in 2020 or 2021 and they told me that the part was on back order they would contact me when the part has come in 5 years later they still have not contacted me I have reached out by phone through email and Facebook messenger to set up a time to fix my 2008 gmc sierra and haven’t heard anything well last week my service air bag soon light came on and I am very nervous about that so I will not drive the truck I would like to file a formal complaint and have this taken care of please

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and turned off at the residence, the front windshield cracked. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the front driver's and passenger's side air bags had deployed without impact. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that a short circuit was caused by water damage in the air bag modules underneath the front driver's and passenger's side seats. The vehicle was then towed to a body shop for the air bags to be replaced; however, the replacement parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

Dashboard is completely broken and it moves everywhere. It’s not even attached to the screws cause it’s broken. I’ve put 10,000 miles on the in the last 5 years and the dash is basically falling apart on its own

THE DOOR ACTUATORS ON BOTH BACK SEAT DOORS OF MY CREW CAB HAVE FAILED AND PASSENGERS CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE NOR CAN THE DOORS BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS FAILURE IS INTERMITTENT AND AND UNSAFE FOR PASSENGERS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. THE TRUCK IS AT THE GM DEALER BEING REPAIRED FOR $670.00 PLUS TAX AND SHOP CHARGES.

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the spare tire detached from underneath. After a visual inspection of the underneath of the vehicle, he observed that the spare tire hoist and frame were severely corroded, potentially compromising the structural integrity of the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 197,000.

left side frame is defective, I have welded 4 patches on frame.from the bend by wheel well and fuel tank to front wheel well all by were frame has bracket welded and bottom of inside of frame . if hit on left side can cause frame to crumble and fuel tank to explode. it needs to be looked at for recall. i have spoken to many oweners of 2007 to 2009 gm trucks. and all have same problem. my truck only has around 112 thousand on it this is 3rd year i had to repair.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, SMOKE EMERGED FROM THE VENTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO A SHOULDER LANE WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE BEGAN TO CATCH FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WIRES WERE VISIBLE PRIOR TO THE FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. ALL FOUR POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED. FIRST THREE FAILED BEFORE REACHING 30000 MILES. DEALER ADVISED THEY WERE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I ARGUED WITH THEM, BY THE TIME MY TRUCK HAD 50000 MILES ALL FOUR HAD FAILED AND WAS TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 36000 MILES. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE MILLIONS OF VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. GM WANTS $300 PER DOOR TO REPAIR. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY THEM $1200 FOR SOMETHING I PAID FOR WITH THE PRICE OF THE TRUCK.

THE VEHICLE IS A 2008 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO DRIVE. ONCE I HAD ARRIVED AT THE DESTINATION THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AS A RESULT. I ATTEMPTED TO USE THE ELECTRONIC LOCK TO RE-LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DOOR AND THIS HAD NO SUCCESS. ATTEMPTED ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPENING THE DOOR WITH THE OUTSIDE LATCH WHICH ALSO HAD NO SUCCESS. TRIED MANUALLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE DOOR AND NOTHING APPEARS TO ALLOW THIS DOOR TO BE OPENED USING THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE DOOR LATCHES. MY SIERRA DEVELOPED A NOISE ON DECELERATION. TOOK IT TO THE GMC DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT HAD A WORN CAM. $5500 TO REPAIR, $7750 TO REPLACE ENGINE. I KNEW THAT A WORN CAM WOULD CAUSE LIFTER NOISE ALL THE TIME SO THAT WAS WRONG INFO. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND OUT THIS TRUCK HAS ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT. WHAT HAPPENED WAS A FAILURE OF THE SYSTEM. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THIS TRUCK ALWAYS HAD HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION. I DEACTIVATED THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THE TRUCK RUNS ON ALL 8 CYLINDERS, IS COMPLETELY QUIET AND NO LONGER USES OIL. IT IS BETTER THAN NEW. I ALSO FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MY AND PAID FOR EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. THIS ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT IS NOTHING MORE THAN A SCAM TO FALSELY INCREASE FUEL MILEAGE AND TO RIP OFF CUSTOMERS WHEN IT GOES BAD. IT CAN BE DEACTIVATED WITH A $175 CHIP.

DRIVING AND WARNING CAME ON AND IT SAID "ENGINE HOT A/C TURNED OFF" HAD THIS VEHICLE ONLY ONE WEEK WHEN THIS HAPPENED, TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER THE SAID WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY, I TOLD THEM TO KEEP THE TRUCK. THEY PUT ON A NEW THERMOSTAT, TWO WEEKS LATER SAME THING. TOOK TRUCK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT. GOOD FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS, WARNING KEEPS COMING ON. LOOKED ON LINE MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN, A MECHANIC AT A CHEVROLET GARAGE TOLD ME IT IS PROBABLY IN THE CLUSTER PANEL/ COMPUTER?? BIG MONEY. ALL FOUR DOOR LOCKS WERE INTERMITTENTLY INOPERATIVE & ONLY ABLE TO FUNCTION MANUALLY FROM THE INSIDE. TAKEN TO DEALER AND DIAGNOSED AS INTERNAL FAILURE IN DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLIES/ACTUATORS. ALL FOUR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLIES WERE REPLACED AT A CUSTOMER COST OF $900+. THIS IS MY SECOND GMC VEHICLE THAT HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET THIS SEEMS TO BE A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM. EVEN THE DEALERSHIP MECHANIC MENTIONED SURPRISE THAT IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED OR GMC HAS NOT BEEN FORCED TO FIX THE PROBLEM CONSIDERING HOW OFTEN HE HAD PERSONALLY DIAGNOSED & FIXED THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CUSTOMER IS UNABLE TO RELY ON THE DOOR LOCK SYSTEM OR LOCK/UNLOCK THE DOORS AS USUAL. DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED ABOVE THE DRIVERS INSTRUMENT DISPLAY, AROUND SPEAKER AND NOW HAS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WITH THE DASHBOARD BEING LOOSE. IF THE AIR BAG IS EVER TO DEPLOY IT WILL MORE THAN LIKELY HURT MY PASSENGER WHICH COULD BE MY WIFE, MY CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN. TAKATA RECALL: GMC HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE WAY TO LONG AND STILL TO THIS DATE CANNOT GIVE ME A DATE OR TIME FRAME WHEN THEY CAN FIX MY ISSUE. THIS SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN CORRECTED. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE EPIDEMIC DASH CRACKING THAT IS OBVIOUSLY AN ENGINEERING ISSUE AND GMC SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO CORRECT THIS DEFECT IN THEIR DASHES. TAKATA - GM RECALL 49152 - I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE DATED JULY 2016 AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPLACE THE FRONT AIRBAG INFLATORS. I HAVE CALLED THREE TIMES TO CHECK THE STATUS AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THEM.

I was driving in a parking structure at low speed when a loud bang went off inside the cab. The hazard lights went off, there was an acrid electrical smell, and fine dust was coming from the steering wheel area. I stopped the truck and got out to look for a collision, but there was none. When I restarted the truck, the air bag light came on and I noticed that the seatbelts were retracted and no longer functional. I was not injured, but I believe that if this had happened in traffic or on the highway, I and my passenger could have been seriously hurt. The vehicle was towed to the GMC dealership, where they identified an error with the module that sends a signal to the airbags and seatbelts to deploy. Prior to this occurrence, I had no indication that the airbag/seatbelt system was faulty or in need of service.

Cranked my truck yesterday and put it in drive. Slowly drove about 300 feet and the pretensioner’s discharged in my seatbelts. I fortunately did not have it on yet, but the seatbelts are now unusable.

I started my 2008 GMC Sierra, crew cab and began to pull my drivers side seat belt across my body to latch it. I was about 1/2 way when I heard a loud bang that sounded like a gun going off to my right, the seat belt that I had in my hand pulled back tight pulling my hand with it. There was smoke and the smell of gun powder coming from the bottom of the passenger seat by the seat belt. With my heart pounding in my chest I got out of my truck as quickly as I could (my driver's side door was still open). Both the driver's side and passenger side seat belts were pulled tight and I was unable to get either to release. The truck is now sitting, unable to be driven safely with the seat belt on. The dealership said it would be just under $1,000 to fix plus towing and has no idea how or why it happened. This truck has never been in an accident and currently has about 140,000 mostly highway miles on it and I am the original owner. Searching online I found that there are other people on blogs who have had similar problems with exploding seat belt modules with a range of 40,000 miles to over 150,000 miles.

I WAS SLOWLY GOING ACROSS A PARKING LOT WHEN A LOUD BANG LIKE A GUN SHOT HAPPENED AND THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT PULLED ME TIGHT AGAINST THE SEAT. THERE WAS A SMELL OF A CHEMICAL GAS IN THE CAB AND THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS CAME ON. I AM SURELY GLAD I WAS ONLY GOING A FEW MILES AN HOUR. NOW THE SEAT BELTS (BOTH SIDES) ARE LOCKED TIGHT. I UNDERSTAND THIS MIGHT NOT BE THAT RARE OF A PROBLEM BUT IT'S THE FIRST I'VE EVER HEARD OF IT.

Tire sizes: 245/70r17. Three tires went bad between November 2022 and March 9th 2023. First tire, the front right, replaced because its outside tread was going bad really quickly. I could see the metal sticking out of it. Two tires need replacing because they are bulging. The back left tire bulged so bad my car was shaking up and down until I took it off. Thought everything was fine but the back right began to shake the car two days later.

Tire size: 265 75 R16. All four tires inside wall has failed about two inches all the way around the rim. The tires were purchased sometime in 2018 and are a little above the 50.000 mile warranty. They were inspected by NTB technicians in Lancaster and also in Canal Winchester Ohio. They will only replace one tire for free but l think and believe l can’t be the only one with 4 of these tires failing in the same vehicle. All four tires have failed. No inspection by police or insurance has been performed. No warning signs at all other l got under the vehicle to inspect a small oil leak and that is when l saw the problem. I want to reiterate, what are the odds am the only one with all four tires failure?

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 mph when another vehicle suddenly got in front of their vehicle causing them to depress the brake pedal. The brake pedal failed to press downward. The contact had to continue to press the brakes a total of 8 times. The trailer brakes would cause the vehicle to decelerate but it would continue to accelerate and increase in speed. By the 8th attempt and with the trailer brakes activated the vehicle eventually decelerated and came to a stop. The tire pressure warning had been illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 116,000.

WHILE SLOWLY BACKING MY 2008 GMC SIERRA PICK-UP TRUCK INTO THE GARAGE, THE MIRROR SURFACE CONTACTED THE SIDE OF THE GARAGE, CRACKING THE MIRROR. INSURANCE COMPANY RECOMMENDED HAVING AN AUTO GLASS SHOP REPLACE THE MIRROR, BUT A SMALL, FLIMSY PLASTIC CLIP THAT HAD BROKEN ON THE BACK OF THE MIRROR PREVENTED THEM FROM DOING SO. CUT HAND ON BROKEN MIRROR SURFACE AFTER REMOVED BY GLASS SHOP. DEALER ESTIMATED REPAIR AT $213.02. GM CORPORATE REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE DEFECT IN MIRROR BACKING CLIP AND REFUSED ANY ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER (DISTRICT SPECIALIST LEVEL REFERRAL FROM OWNER RELATIONS CENTER. I THOUGHT THAT FLEXIBLE MIRROR ASSEMBLIES WERE SUPPOSED TO SURVIVE MINOR COLLISIONS - A PREVIOUS GM VEHICLE (BLAZER) PERFORMED ADMIRABLY IN A 25 MPH COLLISION WITH A CHROME F250 TRUCK MIRROR W/NO DAMAGE TO THE BLAZER MIRROR OR ASSEMBLY. THE GMC "PROFESSIONAL GRADE" (TERM USED VERY LOOSELY HERE) TRUCK THAT I NOW OWN WON'T EVEN STAND UP TO A MINOR CLIP ON THE SIDE OF THE GARAGE AT SLOW SPEED. ENGINEERING DEFECTS ARE 1) MIRROR ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY IS OF POOR QUALITY AND/OR WORKMANSHIP AND 2) MIRROR ASSEMBLY MOVES UP SLIGHTLY WHEN PIVOTING, WHICH PROBABLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE BREAKAGE AT SUCH SLOW SPEED (WAS SLOWLY BACKING UP AN INCLINE INTO THE GARAGE). APPARENTLY, I WAS NOT CONVINCING ENOUGH TO GM THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH FLIMSY MIRRORS - PERHAPS NHTSA AND BBB CAN BE MORE PERSUADING. No accident happened as the wheel was never installed due to not meeting the load weight capacity rating of the vehicle. The wheel is marked max load 1150kg (2230 per axle) and the vehicle weight loading label shows the rear axle capacity at 2706kg. The wheel is also marked as SAE J2530 compliant but does not meet J2530 section 3.5 due to the low load capacity. These wheels are widely available in the aftermarket and list most of the 2000-2010 GM 2500HD/3500 pickups as the application but do not meet load capacity on any of them. Please note that the VIN is for a typical 2008 Sierra 2500HD pickup in a scrap yard. I do not own that vehicle. It is a weight label photo from Hollander parts finder on that pickup.

MY HUSBAND WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT WHEN THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. WE CONTACTED GMC THEY SENT SOMEONE TO INVESTIGATE. THAT PERSON SAID DUE TO SOME WATER LEAKING IN ON THEM IS WHAT CAUSED IT. NOTHING WAS WET THOUGH. NOW THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP. SEEMS LIKE IF THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE FRONT AIRBAGS IT IS A CHANCE THE SIDE ONES ARE ALSO BAD. THEY HANG LIKE CURTAINS. BEGAN TO SMELL FAINT RAW GAS FUMES AROUND THE VEHICLE IN THE SUMMER. IN THE AUTUMN MONTHS THE RAW GAS ODOR SMELL INTENSIFIED AND WAS VERY STRONG WITH AN OVERCOMING PRESENCE IN THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO MY SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTIC. THE MECHANIC (NON GMC GARAGE) CALLED BACK SEVERAL HOURS LATER AND SAID I HAD BEEN DRIVING A POTENTIALLY DISASTER. HE ASKED ME TO SEE FOR MYSELF. I WAS ABLE TO VIEW THIS FIRST HAND AFTER HE HAD REMOVED THE FUEL TANK FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FUEL PUMP IS MOUNTED INTO A DEEP SUMP ON THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK. THE SUMP WELL IS RATHER DEEP AND COLLECTS MUD, SILT, DEBRIS AND WATER WHILE DRIVING AND THAT COLLECTS AND BUILD UP OVER TIME INTO THE SUMP AND THAT STAYS MOIST AT ALL TIMES. OVER THE COURSE OF 6 YEARS THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING AND MOUNT RING RUSTED, ROTTED OUT AND STARTED LEAKING RAW GAS THAT WAS SPILLING ONTO THE HOT EXHAUST PIPE ALONGSIDE THE FUEL TANK. I DO NOT GO OFF ROAD WITH THE VEHICLE NOR DO I PLOW SNOW WITH IT. THE VEHICLE IS USED PRINCIPALLY IN HIGHWAY DRIVING. A FEW WEEKS LATER I WAS TALKING TO A FRIEND WHO OWNS A 2010 GMC SUBURBAN AND HE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I SUBSEQUENTLY WENT ON LINE, SEARCHED ON GOOGLE, AND DISCOVERED A NUMBER OF OTHER OWNERS THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLES. TOOK 2008 GMC SIERRA 1500 4X4 TO TIRE STORE TO ROTATE TIRES. THEY INDICATED THAT THE LOWER FRONT BALL JOINTS WERE LOOSE. THIS TRUCK HAS 77,000 MILES SO I WAS SKEPTICAL. TOOK TRUCK TO GMC DEALER FOR SERVICE & REQUESTED THAT THEY CHECK THE LOWER FRONT BALL JOINTS. THEY INDICATED THAT THE BALL JOINTS HAD ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH OF VERTICAL PLAY AND WERE INDEED LOOSE & NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I HAVE EARLIER GMC TRUCKS WITH OVER 200,000 MILES AND HAVE NOT HAD WORN LOWER BALL JOINTS. I BELIEVE THAT THE LOOSENESS IS DUE TO THE BALL JOINT PULLING APART. THE WEAR WAS NOT SIDE TO SIDE AS WOULD BE EXPECTED. I WANT TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT SO AS TO AVOID A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION. The contact owns a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that after the dealer repaired the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags) and GM's Emission Recall: N140581 (Carbon Monoxide Emissions), the vehicle nearly caught on fire. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact turned on the A/C, and the vehicle started shaking abnormally. Additionally, the vehicle made abnormal sounds, jerked, and stalled while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and there was smoke coming from under the hood. Upon inspection, the dealer discovered that the catalytic convertor was extremely hot and glowing red. The dealer determined that the exhaust system and catalytic convertor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to the residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 151,071.

MY DASHBOARD HAS SEVERAL CRACKS EXPOSING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WITHIN THE DASH. THESE CRACKS ARE IN VARIOUS PLACES ACROSS THE ENTIRE DASH. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND IT IS CURRENTLY IN EXCELLENT CONDITION (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DASH) I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIR BAG WERE TO BE DEPLOYED THE PLASTIC DASHBOARD WOULD EXPLODE AND EXPOSE MY PASSENGERS OR MYSELF TO ADDITIONAL HAZARDS WITHIN THE VEHICLE. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN MY DASH BOARD IS NOW EXPOSED TO ADDITIONAL HAZARDS DUE TO THE ADDITIONAL EXPOSURE TO THE SUN. I AM FILING THIS INCIDENT WITH THE HOPES THAT IT WILL HELP A RECALL TO BE ISSUED. I NOTICED THE FIRST SMALL CRACK IN 2011. I HAVE KEPT AN EYE ON IT OVER THE YEARS AND AS OF TODAY, THERE ARE EXPOSED OPENINGS IN THE DASH IN SEVERAL PLACES. UNTIL TODAY, I THOUGHT THAT I MIGHT HAVE JUST BEEN UNLUCKY, HOWEVER AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, IT IS APPARENT THAT I AM NOT ALONE, AND THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED UNDER A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. MY SERVICE MAN WAS PULLING OUT OF PARKING LOT AT STORE WHEN AIR BAGS EXPLODED AND SEAT BELTS LOCKED. HE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING AND WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 10 MPH WHEN THIS HAPPENED. TOOK TO LOCAL DEALER TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIX IT. THEY SAID YES , BUT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. WE COULD CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER IF NECESSARY. THE BILL WAS $1413.89. (PARTS $798.00--LABOR 562.59 TAX 48.19). WE HAD TO GET IT FIXED AS IT IS ILLEGAL TO BE ON THE ROAD WITHOUT SEAT BELTS (OR AIR BAGS). WE FEEL THESE ARE DEFECTIVE PARTS AN D WE SHOULD BE REIMBURSED BY THE MANUFACTURER.. THIS IS AN UNSAFE VEHICHLE!!!! THANKS

MY TRUCK STARTED TO ACTIVATE THE BRAKES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 3 LANE 680 FREEWAY, DOORS STARTED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK, NAVIGATION WENT DARK, MULTIPLE DIFFERENT DISPLAYS ON DASHBOARD, NUMBER OF LIGHTS FROM THE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT, CAME ON. ACCELERATION OR BRAKES WOULD NOT RESPOND, WE WERE UNABLE TO DRIVE OFF THE FREEWAY. AT 35K THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR ACTUATOR FAILED AND WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. AT 40K THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR FAILED. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS USED BY GMC. WITH NO ABILITY TO OPEN OR CLOSE THE PASSENGER DOOR FROM THE DRIVERS CONTROL, A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE EXISTS. E.G. UNABLE TO PREVENT AN INTRUDER FROM ENTERING THE CAR AT A STOP LIGHT, OR ALLOW A SCARED CHILD TO EXIT AFTER AN ACCIDENT. *TR

THE FUEL LINES ARE RUSTED THROUGH SPRAYING FUEL TO UNDER SIDE OF TRUCK. THE LINES RUSTED THROUGH WHILE DRIVING FIFTEEN HOURS STRAIT FROM FLORIDA. IF THE FUEL WOULD HAVE HIT THE TAIL PIPE OR DIESEL PARTICULET FILTER WHEN REGENERATING, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS FIRE. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH AN EXPLOSION AT WORK AND KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE BURNED. I ONLY DROVE THIS TRUCK DAILY TWO WINTERS BEFORE I GOT HURT AND LAST WINTER IT WAS IN FLORIDA. I HAVEN'T EVEN CHANGED THE FRONT BRAKES YET BUT THE FUEL LINES ARE SHOT. SHAME ON GM AND SHAME ON NHTSA FOR NOT ADDRESSING THIS. YOU BOTH KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH BRAKE AND FUEL LINES. ON 04.12.2014 AFTER GOING TO THE STORE, PARKED UNDER THE CARPORT. THE TIME WAS 10PM. WHILE INSIDE HEARD A POP SOUND AROUND 10:15 PM. WENT OUTSIDE AND THE TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. PUT TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND PUSHED IT FROM UNDER THE CARPORT, TRYING TO SAVE DAMAGE TO THE HOUSE. FIRE DEPT CAME AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE FIRE WARPED ALL THE VINYL UNDER THE CARPORT. LUCKY IT DIDN'T CATCH THE HOUSE ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS WORSE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. *TT

POWER DOOR LOCK FAILED ON DRIVER DOOR. YOU CAN NOT OPEN DOOR WITH OUT LIFTING HAND LATCH. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS-- MEANING YOU CAN NOT OPEN DOOR BY DOOR HANDLE-- THERE IS NO OVERRIDE LIKE PROVIDED ON OTHER VEHICLES. OTHER DOOR FAILED 2 MONTHS LATER. TRUCK LOCKS AND UNLOCKS DOORS WHEN MOVING SHIFTER FROM PARK TO DRIVE, THERE IS NO PROGRAM OPTION TO DELETE THIS OPTION. SO YOU LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS EVERY TIME YOU SHIFT TRUCK TRANSMISSION TO PARK OR IN DRIVE. THIS IS NOT NEEDED IN MY CASE, SINCE YOU CAN MANUALLY DO SAME. TRUCK SHAKES BETWEEN 45 AND 60. DOES IT ALL THE TIME. TOOK TO GMC DEALER AND THEY CHECK IT OUT AND SAID IT WAS THE WAY THE TRUCK WAS GET USED TO IT. CALLED DETROIT AND GOT THE SAME THING. IT'S NOT RIGHT. IT ALL STARTED WITH AROUND 14,000 MILES .THE TRUCK DIDN'T DO IT AT ALL UNTIL THEN. THE SERVICE STATION THAT I USE TO SERVICE IT FOUND THE TIRES TO BE OUT OF ROUND AND THE SIDEWALLS WERE COMING UNDONE. PUT A NEW SET OF TIRES ON AND IT HELPED A LITTLE BIT BUT NOT A GREAT DEAL. THEY ALSO TOLD ME TO PUT WEIGHT IN THE BOX TO HELP. I TRIED AND IT DIDN'T HELP. ALL I WANT IS THE TRUCK MADE RIGHT. *TR

HEADLIGHTS DIM WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED, WHEN THE TRUCK SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO SECOND GEAR AND WHEN THE BLINKERS ARE USED AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS. CONTACTED GM AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS NORMAL IN ALL VEHICLES. ALSO HAVE HAD 3 DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS AND 1 WINDOW MOTOR REPLACED. HAD TO HAVE THE FRONT STEERING/RACK AND PINION REPLACED.
