Both driver and passenger tail light/ brake light assemblies have failed. They started intermittently going out and then failed all together. There is a VERY common issue with these lights. They have been replaced at an approximate cost of $650.00 per light.

The contact owns a 2016 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that the taillights were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who stated that the taillights needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer covered under Special Coverage Adjustment: N182180270 (Tail Lamps Inoperative). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.

The rear taillights both went out due to a design issue with the LED circuit board - where the connections on the board crack and cause the lights to fail

On two occasions while driving at low speed, my vehicle braked on its on a pulled hard to the left; the stabilitrac indicator also popped on briefly. I went online to determine if there were any recalls on my vehicle and found that one of the recalls on the 2016 Yukon was the exact issue happening with my vehicle. I checked my VIN and found that my vehicle was not one of the vehicles with this issue. I called GM to see if my vehicle had just not been published yet. I explain the situation too the customer service person; she understood my situation and informed me that until my specific VIN in identified with this issue, there's nothing that can be done. I'm thinking that until an accident happen because of this issue, there is nothing that can be done. I read that my issue was a problem with the EBCM, which needs to be reprogrammed. I thank you for any assistance with this issue.

During standard braking operations the vehicle (not a hard emergency situation) on dry ground the vehicle seems to activate the abs system or something similar which makes the braking effort non standard and increases stopping distance. The issue has occurred occasionally for over a year but is becoming more frequent. It has occurred at both highway speeds of 55 mph and almost stopped during parking activities of 2mph.

GMC is stating that due to a recall my brake booster vacuum pump failed and now they are that is is not covered and I will be out of pocket on the issue after numerous phone called with GM they are still of no help and the vehicle is not safe to drive which is my only means of transportation

My 2016 GMC Yukon is hard to stop when pressing brake pedal. Vehicle shimmy’s when pressing the brake and it must be pressed very hard. Have read and watched many videos this is very common issue on 2014-2018 Yukons and Tahoes. This could be very dangerous and my question is, why has these vehicles not been recalled to prevent accidents when it seems to be a common issue and expensive to fix?

The contact owns a 2016 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle jerked, then briefly lost motive power before the engine seized. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The transmission warning light was illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to a friend's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for the most recent failure. Days before the failure, the vehicle jerked while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000.

Without warning, giving vehicle low consistent pressure on gas pedal to move forward slowly (2-3mph) vehicle rpm jumped up then suddenly shifted and vehicle jerked forward in a school zone. Behavior continued and vehicle was ultimately towed.

While taking my children to school, the vehicles RPMs began to jump, causing the vehicle to lose power. Which resulted in myself and two children stranded on the side of the road. The vehicle had just crossed over 110,000 miles when the transmission completely broke apart from the inside. There was no other warnings or lights that appeared on the dash prior to or after. We had been given an estimate from GM for $6200 for a new transmission.. but that was extremely difficult to afford. We ultimately had to have the transmission rebuilt due to it costing $3,000 less, so we could continue going to work. We are still having issues with the transmission even after taking to back for a 2nd time to be reprogrammed. It’s extremely frustrating to have paid so much for this Yukon to have transmission go out with as many miles as it did, plus with no warnings.

The transmission malfunctions, shifting is inconsistent and shifts by itself. Shudders and causes the engine to increase and decrease in RPMS. This causes the engine to lose power. The truck will slow because of bad shifting and stall. The dealer did a diagnostic test and verified the transmission problem. The vehicle was inspected by the vehicle brand dealership. There were no warning lights or any other signs of the transmission failure.

On [XXX], while idling in my driveway the engine abruptly stopped with a loud clunk and refused to turn over when I attempted to restart it. The vehicle was towed to Bergstrom GMC in Appleton WI. Upon inspection it was determined that a connecting rod and crankshaft bearing had failed requiring replacement of the engine. The vehicle has a 6.2-litre V-8 engine with 106,000 miles on it. The vehicle is currently still at the dealership waiting for the engine replacement at an estimated cost of $18,000. Check engine light came on. Immediately went to reputable local repair shop. Shop advised push rod bent due to faulty engine. Advised to call GMC because not normal wear and tear. Called GMC expressed my frustration about this being preexisting issue w this engine. GMC corp told me I had to ship to GMC dealership at my own expense then they could help me. Local GMCs backed up 6-8 wks. Towed car 1.5 hrs away. Mechanic told me not to worry this happens all of the time, GMC will take care of it. Pointed out a row of new trucks with my incl new Escalade with same issue. I spoke to a sales rep about trading my car in for new but he said engine issue still not resolved. He advised me to lease Escalade for $900 because by the time my engine blew my lease would be up; if not GMC fix under warranty!! Mechanic said new engine but GMC will take care of it. I waited 3+ months for GMC to authorize repair. GMC said they did not get docs but mechanic sent me verification of conversation and repair order sent to GMC. Mechanic received an unrelated warranty from GMC that said my issue was not covered. Mechanic said docs sent made no sense bc he sent the right warranty and he was sorry and embarrassed by GMC behavior. I finally paid over 14K for new engine. Picked up my car and drive a block and car still knocking and engine light came back on. I had returned my rental and no way home. In tears dealership gave me my rental keys back still all at my expense. The mechanic calls me two days later to tell me my torque needs to be replaced. I am hysterical, 14k spent, and car still not fixed. GMC told me to pay additional funds for torque converter or pick up. Threatened to charge storage fees. When I discussed their liability GMC became very rude and antagonistic. They cut off my communication with their lead mechanic. Took care of back to local repair shop. He said this smells of a law suit so would not touch vehicle. I all communication 106 more files to share.

At 90k the engine stopped working, no warning or lights went off. 6.2L Lifters and bearings., The dealer gave us 14k for the car and we then went and bought and escalde with the 6.2L, that has also seized at 14k miles within 13 months of purchasing. The yukon has no reports of that on the car fax after our trade, which i found curious.

The engine failed and dropped down to limp mode while driving down the Hwy. Had to replace the engine for a toll of approx. $10,000. Truck only had 89,000 miles on it.

My 2016 GMC Yukon Denali was taken in for a tune up. When I received the vehicle back, I was told that there was possibly a microscopic pin hole in my engine because fluid (engine coolant) was under one of the injectors. I was told that I may need to trade in or get another engine. I refused both. The mileage at the time was probably 120,000. I purchased this vehicle brand new and do not see how an engine is needed so quickly. I was barely finished paying for it. I was told by a co-worker that she had to trade hers in because it was doing the same thing. She had also investigated and had learned that many of these vehicles have the same issues around 114,000 miles and beyond. I think these issues need to be addressed.

This is a very common problem with GM vehicles produced from 2015 to 2019 and is occurring in 5.3L and 6.2L gas engines. The engine coolant temperature sensor is failing and defaulting to a fail safe that turns the electric cooling fans on to full speed because it thinks the vehicle is overheating. When this sensor fails, the engine temperature gauge will not work. When the vehicle is turned off the fans will stay on for 15 minutes at full speed and will deplete the battery. The sensors are being replaced multiple times with different manufacturers and the problem returns in a matter of days or weeks. You can disconnect the battery negative post and reconnect and the problem corrects until it is tripped again at later date. GM has no solution for this. This issue will leave a driver stranded and will cause engine or transmission issues if driven while the vehicle is doing this. There is no check engine light or code tripped while this occurs either.

On our 2016 GMC Yukon Denali we have experienced intermittently working brake lights on our vehicle. We were first informed by a family friend following us that our passenger side was going in and out and now our driver's side brake light is completely out. The turn signal and reverse light still works but no brake light of any indication. No warnings or messages were given it just went completely out. I believe this is a safety hazard to myself and other driver's. It is also against the law to have a break light out. I've read that there was a recall but it was dismissed in 2021 due to faulty break lights. I also read that it was only fixed at no cost for drivers at 72,000 miles and the vehicle couldn't be older than six years.We purchased our vehicle at 73××× . Not everyone can afford the $1600.00 upfront to fix a problem like this. Please reconsider making this a recall as I have been doing my research alot of Gmc Yukon drivers have experienced this. I want my family to be safe.

The Trailer Brake System has become inoperative on my 2016 GMC Yukon. . A random, constant and repetitive Service "Trailer Brake System" warning makes constant, persistent, repetitive and abrupt dashboard visual illuminations and abrupt audio disruptions while driving. This causes constant driver distractions and the inability to hear traffic and other warnings when the chiming audio warnings go off over and over. Additionally, the Trailer brake system is not functioning and other potential issues may exist. I have learned that NHTSA and GM are aware of this specific Trailer Brake System issue but have not provided a remedy for this known Manufacturers defect with the wiring harness. These disruptions prevent our family while driving from hearing other vehicle warnings (turn signal, rear collision, lane departure, lane assist, forward collision) and I am unable to make phone calls as well during these constant disruptions and also the inability to read the digital read out of my speed during these constant disruptions.

THE PASSENGER SIDE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SENSOR NOT WORKING BECAUSE THE SENSOR CAME DETACHED FROM REAR BUMPER FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND NOW IS JUST DANGLING. NEEDS TO BE WELDED BACK ON THE BUMPER.

THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN DECEMBER USED. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 62,000 MILES. VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT AFTER WORKING FINE THE DAY BEFORE. WENT TO USE AIR CONDITIONING AND IT WOULD ONLY BLOW HOT AIR. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE, AND WITH EXPERIENCES FROM OTHER OWNERS, THE AIR CONDITIONING FAILURES APPEARS TO BE A VERY COSTLY COMMON ISSUE BUT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THE DEFECTIVE PARTS. THE VEHICLE IS STILL IN FOR REPAIRS AT THIS TIME. ALTHOUGH THIS ISSUE WAS NOT SPECIFICALLY SAFETY RELATED IN MY SITUATION, THE POTENTIAL FOR SAFETY CONCERNS EXIST. HAD THE AC FAILED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING WITH CHILDREN OR ANIMALS INSIDE COULD BE FATAL.

AIR CONDITIONING - WE WERE TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP JULY 1ST 2019, AN AIR CONDITIONING HOSE HAS A CRACK IN IT, AND THUS THE REFRIGERANT HAS LEAKED OUT. A NEW HOSE WAS ORDERED. IT IS NOW AUGUST 13TH AND WE STILL DO NOT HAVE OUR VEHICLE BACK. ANOTHER MESS WITH MY 2016 YUKON SLE. THE A/C CONDENSER WENT OUT AT JUST OVER 60K MILES -- $1600 TOTAL IN REPAIR COST. APPARENTLY THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND GM HAS ISSUED SPECIAL REFUNDS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM IN PRIOR YEARS 2015 AND BEFORE -- BUT HAS NOT YET DONE SO WITH THE 2016 YEAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME PART AND ISSUE. I AM PAYING TO GET THIS FIXED TODAY AND COUNTING ON THE SPECIAL REFUND IF NOT A RECALL.

The rear lights on my vehicle - including brake lights - intermittently stop working. I was unaware of this issue until I had someone follow me to my destination to make me aware. This is extremely dangerous that could lead to a wreck with the potential of bodily injury. GMC has issued a service bulletin (admitting to using faulty parts) related to this problem, however, they have limited the coverage to mileage and year. GMC should be required to issue a full recall on any vehicle impacted by this serious safety concern.

2 months ago our 16 gmc Yukon Denali 6.2 bent a push rod on cylinder 4 . So had to fix it when I took out DOD lifters put them on work bench and about 10 minutes out the DOD lifters flew apart and know having transmission issues it’s starting to shudder ! So I would liked the [XXX] thing recalled because engine still isn’t right either it only has 130000 miles. I’ll never buy a [XXX] gmc because of problems! I want the [XXX] thing fixed ASAP we paid to much money for it to be having problems!!!! Please send a recall letter to fix it ! The car has all of a sudden had issues with the gas and breaking. When I press the gas, it stalls then rapidly accelerates. It has to be the transmission. Also, is making a noise and will barely drive when pressing on the gas. It does not accelerate!! Could have easily gotten into a car accident! What is going on??

The vehicle consistently alerts with service trailer brake system warnings and has progressively become more of a frequent problem with the system doing it constantly even when no trailer is being towed This has been occurring since time of purchase in March 2021 when we purchased the vehicle and has become consistently more frequent over time

Rear driver taillight assembly does not work all the time! One day it works the next day it does not! I had to have the passenger side replaced about 6-8 months ago & it was replaced by the dealer at that time & there was no cost to me as it was under warranty at that time! I think there may be an issue with the LED bulbs! Now the problem is with the drivers side! This is a safety problem and a recall should be issued!!!!It is no longer under warranty & out of pocket cost may be $600 to $1000!

MY COMPLAINT RELATES TO A KNOWN DEFECT IN 2015-18 GMC YUKON (AND SIMILAR GM MODELS) AND DEFECTIVE BRAKE LIGHTS. THE LEFT BRAKE LIGHT IN MY 2016 GMC YUKON WENT OUT IN APPROX EARLY 2019. IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. IN NOVEMBER 2019, BY RIGHT BRAKE LIGHT WENT OUT. IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE EARLY BROKEN LIGHT. I HAD LESS THAN 36,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I LEASED THE VEHICLE IN APPROX SEPT 2016 AND THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PAST (LESS THAN 75 DAYS) EXPIRATION OF THE 36 MONTH WARRANTY. SO, THE DEALER QUOTED ME $950+/- DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HOUSING. THE DEALER REP EXPLAINED THAT THE ENTIRE HOUSING HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS LED AND DIDN'T USE A BULB. THE DEALER REP TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I WAS INCENSED AND REFUSED TO PAY. I WENT HOME AND GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS PERVASIVE WITH THE 2015-18 YUKON AND OTHER SIMILAR GM PRODUCTS. I SEE ALMOST 200 COMPLAINTS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE? NOT SURE THE POINT OF THIS WEBSITE, BUT, I'M GOING TO PUT MY 2 CENTS IN. MY 2016 YUKON DENALI PASSANGER BRAKE LIGHT HAS GONE OUT, LIKE MANY, MANY OF OTHER PEOPLE. WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL? OBVIOUSLY, THERE IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. AFTER MANY VIDEOS I HAVE WATCHED I SEE THAT THE CIRCIT BOARD COMES APART AND CAN'T BE REPAIRED BUT ONLY REPLACED, AT A EXTREMLY HIGH PRICE. I'VE ALSO SEEN MANY TAIL LIGHT ON THESE YUKONS WORK OFF AND ON, SO, RANDOMLY THEY CAN NOT WORK AT ANY TIME AND POSSIBLY GET YOU REAR ENDED. BRAKE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING ALMOST WAS PLOWED INTO BY 18 WHEELER ON I-75. DRIVER WAVED US OVER AND INFORMED US THAT HE DID NOT SEE US TILL RIGHT ON TOP OF US. PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE SYSTEMIC ENOUGH THAT THE GMC SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD US THAT IT WAS COMMON ENOUGH THAT THEY KEPT THE BRAKE LIGHTS IN STOCK. ADDITIONALLY THERE ARE NUMEROUS THREADS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET AND EVEN UTUBE VIDEOS ON WHERE TO REMOVE MATERIAL TO ACCESS THE OFFENDING CIRCUIT BOARD TO REPAIR THE KNOWN FAULTY CIRCUIT. My brakes are not working properly. I can be backing up and put my foot on the brake. My truck will keep moving until I apply a lot of pressure on the brake pedal. I can be backing up and my truck will automatically brake and stop moving. I have to cut the truck off, start it back up for it to move. I was in a stand still traffic jam and braking a lot and my truck did stop it keep rolling. Sometimes when I apply the brake it slides.. This is the third time I have put it in the shop. I changed the brakes, brake sensor and replaced tires. I am scared to drive it. My truck is currently in the shop now for the brakes. please help.

When driving through Eugene brakes suddenly got soft while at a stoplight, then pedal got stiff and very hard to keep pressed. An alert came on the dashboard 'Brake Assist Service' just about the same time the brake pedal changed and car would not fully stay at a stop. When checking to feel what had just happened, by letting up and repressing the brakes, it would not fully stop car, even with all my strength pressing. If another car would have been coming through, my young son or myself could have been killed or seriously injured and I could cause someone seriously to be hurt or killed from being in their lane of travel. I alerted my husband that I was unable to drive the vehicle safely, he is in the vehicle industry and looked up online and found there is a common known problem, recalls, and service bulletins, but apparently not for vehicle years prior to 2017, although this severe failure is seen on 2014 and later; and the manual tests/diagnostics that a person can do in a pinch per the bulletin, recall notice, and articles; and in his trials of how to tell if it is a failure or fleeting problem - nothing alleviated it, all the symptoms are present and system is failing and continually bringing up the brake assist service alert. This is the info that we found on the recall, but didn't appear to cover 2016 year models: [NHTSA campaign number: 20V603. GM's own number for this recall is N202300860.] We plan to get this yukon over to Guaranty Chevrolet in Junction City Oregon tomorrow 10/8. The only thing that has been very recently noticeable preceding this in recent week or so is a slight uneven braking feeling in the motion of the car when coming to a stop. Which it has not done before.

I PURCHASED MY TRUCK FROM GILROY CHEVROLET IN SEPTEMBER 2019. THE WEEK WE BOUGHT IT MY HUSBAND HAD TO CHANGE THE BREAKS AS THEY NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. SHORTLY AFTER WITHIN A WEEK FROM THAT WE STARTED HEARING A POPPING SOUND FROM THE LEFT FRONT PART OF THE TRUCK. SOMEWHERE NEAR THE AXEL OR TIRE BARING. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND STATED THEY HAD SOLD ME A CAR WITH NO BREAKS AND WITH THIS MYSTERIOUS NOISE. THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR, CHARGED ME AND DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM I DIDN'T EVEN GET REIMBURSED OR AN APOLOGY FOR BEING SOLD A CAR THAT HAD NO BREAKS. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A NEW DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. GMC YUKON 2016 REAR LIGHTS ARE DEFECTIVE. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THEY HAVE GONE OUT AND IT IS NOT A QUICK FIX TO REPLACE. COST IS APPROXIMATELY $750 TO REPLACE A LIGHT THAT WILL GO OUT AGAIN DUE TO POOR MANUFACTURING AND QUALITY. THE FIRST TIME IT WENT OUT WAS ONLY A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. THE fuel pressure line from the fuel pump to the flex fuel sensor chaffed a pin hole leak near the front top of the fuel tank. This caused a significant fuel smell and trace leak at the front of the fuel tank which could lead to a fire or explosion. The new hose has a longer chaffing covering leading me to believe gm knew about this issue. vehicle has 127,000 miles. I feel gm should reimburse me for this repair as a fuel line should not have ever chaffed through and leaked.

CHECK ENGINE STATES THAT THE VEHICLE MISFIRES BASED ON DEALER'S DIAGNOSTIC. NO WARRANTY TO COVER THE VEHICLE. On [XXX], I was driving my 2016 Yukon Denali on a trip to Maryland. While in Maryland, I was driving my vehicle. As I approached a street to make a right turn, I braked to make the turn. I slowed down to make the turn. As I made the right turn, my steering wheel ability became hard. I felt a stiffness in the steering wheel as I came out of the turn. My Denali became un-maneuverable. I lost my power steering ability in the steering wheel and I observed my power steering service light indicator warning come on. I pulled my vehicle to the side of the road and turned off my vehicle. I started the engine with no change in the steering mechanism. After twenty minutes passed, I restarted the engine. I was able to drive with normal power steering conditions. On [XXX], while driving my Denali, I lost power steering maneuverability while driving. My power steering service light appeared and indicated service was needed and that the Electric Power Steering (EPS) Assist failure occurred. We first noticed the vehicle's lack of power and sudden increase when driving at a stop light/sign. We checked and REPLACED spark plugs, cables, coils, and a new battery. We became highly concerned when the vehicle would accelerate while driving and the RPMs would toggle between 500-1500 RPMS without pressing the gas. We immediately took it to an authorized mechanic, who found excessive noise from the transmission area and found debris/metal. No codes were present when a system performance was done. The vehicle only has 68806 miles on the odometer. The transmission had to be fully replaced, which cost over $7k. The replacement was done. This seems to be a common issue (Transmission replacements) with this vehicle as now we're hearing more about it. PLEASE check this as we could have easily been in an accident from the loss or increase of power without notice and NO WARNING lamp indications. This was a very expensive repair caused by the manufacture and not user error. We paid a lot for this particular vehicle and certainly love it but am concerned about this expensive safety/mechanical issue. The Active Fuel Management System caused excessive wear and tear on the engine, causing the lifters, push rods and valves to be damaged, while under normal operation and regular maintenance intervals. The damage caused, by this failure resulted in the yukon breaking down in the middle of the highway. Every shop/dealership we called all said the samething, this has been a common problem with vehicles equipped with this type of system and the only fix is to replace the motor. Luckily traffic was light that day or things could have been worse. Its dangerous enough to get stranded in the middle of the highway with no way to move the vehicle.

The largest issue was today, 2/22/2022, when I was driving doing 56 miles per hour it felt like it wouldn't accelerate. Then all of a sudden, the wheel kind of jerked right and the car shifted down all on it's own and I was doing 25 mph. The check engine light came on immediately after the violent jerking happened. I was on a 4 lane highway and had to immediately pull over onto the shoulder. It was jerking forward and back as I was trying to pull over on a freeway where the speed limit is 70 mph!!! I had my 80-year-old mother in the car with me. AND YES!! It put us both at great risk! I had to call a tow truck and they towed it to a dealership 9.8 miles away. When I talked to the Assistant Manager, he said that there were 3 other GMC Yukon 2016 that had come in today - ALL WERE 2016 GMC YUKON MODELS WITH 125K MILES. My GMC has 124,700 MILES all with Transmission problems. This can't be an anomaly. So I got online and there are many, many complaints about this transmission. As a matter of fact, it appears in 2019 there was a Class Action Lawsuit about this very thing. I will not know until tomorrow for sure what the issue is - because the dealership could not get to it today. However, something significant happened. As a side note, recently I had an electrical problem where sensors, etc are all saying need to be serviced and none of them are working. I had appt today at 10:30 am to have them check this. On the way there, the violent jerking and sudden downshift and check engine light came on. I was scared to death and so I pulled over and called a tow truck. The dealership did not tell me this is a common issue, nor was I aware. The dealership told me if it is in fact the transmission - cost is $6,000!!! I need someone to contact me to discuss this. This is the second time it happened the first time i parked my car while the engine was on and i got down real quick got back on my car and when i tryed turning all of a sudden my steering wheel keept turning the opposite way and parking control light appear saying it was off and it keep moving my steering wheel i all of a sudden turned my car off and back on the second time that happened i was going in a parking when it did the samething i was turning in the parking and it started turning my steering wheel the opposite way it started saying again parking control off and the system started going crazy and my car completely turned off i was left in the middle of the parking lot had tu put my car in parking and turn my car off reall quick and turned it on and was able to park but i did get really scared and been really scared to drive my car ever since because i don’t know if it will do the same thing again while driving . I have not taken it to get checked but will be making an appointment because it is a really scary situation.

The LED left turn signal and blind spot detection ( safety feature) on the left outside rear view mirror suddenly stopped working. The is a TSB for warranty for 2016-2018 GM YUKON (#10-08-64-002D) and it states that the bulletin has been revised to include 2016-2018 year models for this defect. I am starting this claim because I am told by GM that my VIN is not covered under this warranty, yet I am experiencing the same issue stated in the TSB listed above.

A side detection module pin was corroded and was disrupting the electrical signals to major vehicle components, such as the dash (DIC). The DIC would lose communication with the rest of the vehicle while driving so no vehicle operation data was visible such as speed, alerts messages, etc. This likely also caused engine failure due to the incorrect operation of the afm which is on the same electrical circuit. No warning messages were given. The bad side detection module was diagnosed and fixed at a dealer and shortly after engine issues were noticed.

i HAVE A SERVICE SUSPENSION LIGHT THAT CONTINUES TO POP UP ON DASHBOARD THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IS THE BRAKE LIGHTS. I have previously had the passenger side brake light stop working. In order to repair this you have to order a whole new taillight. My vehicle was approximatly 6 years old when this started happening. First incident (2022 with approximately 65000 miles) Yesterday, I was pulled over by a policeman and both of my brake lights are not working. We found a way to sauder (I know this is incorrect spelling) the broken metal piece back together in the taillight; however, this is not the correct way to fix the underlying problem and clearly it is only a temporary fix because the passenger side broke again in a new spot.

GMC says it isn't their problem since they use other products than GM. I feel that GM motors should stand behind the products that they place in their cars. The same product breaks the same way every time, This is not a me problem but a GM problem.

My vehicle randomly locks up and shuts off while I am taking a sharp turn or parking. A 'Service StabiliTrak' warning flahses on the dashboard. The steering wheel locks and the only way to get this warning to go away is to turn the vehicle off. This is a dangerous hazard as the vehicle can come to an abrupt stop in traffic.

When I was merging on the fwy my car accelerated and I couldn’t slow it down. I had to get off the fwy and break really hard. Driving on the fwy and not being able to control the speed or breaks could of caused an accident or cost us our lives. I have an appointment with the dealer service center on Sept 20, 2022. A few weeks ago I noticed the car was having trouble sifting gears.

In my experience of transmission failure with my 16’ GMC YUKON, there was no warning. I had not experienced any issues with the slipping or jerking feel when accelerating or braking as described in the class action law suit. My vehicle had 105k miles, I took it in for regular maintenance including having the transmission flushed as I was told to do so for preventative maintenance. The transmission failed when I was traveling on the interstate with my family and I came upon some traffic so I applied the brake and the whole vehicle bucked and jerked as it shifted into down gear. I was traveling at 30-35 mph in the traffic and the whole time I felt a slipping motion in the car. I made it to a gas station, refueled, and tried to restart my journey. As I leery the gas station accelerating to get back on the interstate, the vehicle would not accelerate above 35 mph and the RPMs we’re to the max. At this point, my vehicle was in drivable. No prior warning, no issues that had been occurring over time, this all happened the same day. I towed my vehicle to a Chevrolet dealer where the problem was identified as a failed transmission in need of replacement and failed ABS braking system. The cost came at $6800.

The contact owns a 2016 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shake and vibrate. The cause of the failure was not determined. Also, the driver and passenger side retractable running boards would erroneously retract back and forth while driving, and on several occasions, while attempting to exit the vehicle the running board remained retracted causing the driver to fall to the ground and causing injuries to the driver's legs. The cause of the failures was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 60,000.

GMC has a bulletin “recall” that stated that the tail lights of their vehicles were not illuminating on vehicles. In 2019 we took our vehicle in to have the defect covered because our passenger tail light stopped working. We are now having the same issue with our driver light but they are stating that the recall only covered one light with knowledge that both lights are defective. Only one light was replaced. They also had a recall on a defective air compressor that we paid $580 for but because of mileage it was not covered. I spoke with a rep by the name of Angellica in the complaint department that confirmed that the letters regarding the air compressors were sent in November of 2017 and I did not receive that notice during that time. I purchased the vehicle in April of 2017. If any part of a vehicle is defective, or poorly made coverage should not end and defective parts should be replaced. We are looking to be reimbursed for repairs and coverage provided for the second light on our vehicle. GM refuses to resolve this issue and is placing my family in danger with defective parts on this vehicle. I am looking for this to be resolved as soon as possible. This is poor business and the quality of this vehicle that is 5 years old is poor. Attached you will see the invoice from the dealer states that the wiring is bad but coverage was expired due to mileage. If defective parts are in a vehicle there should not be a limitation on getting them replaced. GM made this mistake and it needs to be corrected.

OUR GMC YUKON LOCKED INTO 4WD WHILE ACCELERATING/DRIVING (APPROX 15-25MP) THE KIDS TO SCHOOL THROUGH THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, JERKED VIOLENTLY AS THOUGH BRAKING HARD, AND STEERING WAS EXTREMELY IMPAIRED. THE "SERVICE 4WD" MESSAGE APPEARED ON OUR DASHBOARD. THE YUKON IS LOCKED IN 4WD, AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND MANEVEUR. IT JERKS VIOLENLY WHEN TURNING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE WIRING AND THAT THE ANTENNA NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SINCE THE REPAIR, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO ILLUMINATE NORMALLY FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME. ADDITIONALLY, THE BLIND SPOT INDICATOR ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WERE ISSUES WITH THE KEYFOB WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LOCK THE VEHICLE. THE RADIO SCREEN WAS ALSO OVERHEATED. BRAKE LIGHTS & TORQUE CONVERTER 2016 YUKON DENALI. THE BRAKE LIGHT IS OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND IT IS WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF THE WARRANTY EXPIRING. THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART BECAUSE THERE'S A NATIONAL BACKORDER FOR THE ASSEMBLY. SO CLEARLY I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. DID SOME RESEARCH AND THIS IS APPARENTLY AN ONGOING PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN A HASSLE FROM THE START. I'M BEGINNING TO BELIEVE THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AS WELL. I HAD A BATTERY ISSUE THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIGURE OUT EVEN AFTER SHOWING THEM THE ONSTAR ALERT. ORIGINALLY I WAS TOLD ONSTAR WAS PROBABLY JUST SENDING IT AS A MILEAGE ALERT. TURNS OUT AFTER I INSISTED THEY PUT THE VEHICLE ON A MACHINE AND IT SHOWED THE BATTERY WAS INDEED FAULTY. MULTIPLE THINGS HAVE GONE OUT ON A VEHICLE WITH BARELY 30,000 MILES ON IT. THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS ALSO A MAJOR CONCERN BECAUSE IT 'SHED' METAL PIECES WITH THE CAR HAVING LESS THAN 20,000 MILES THEY ONLY DRAINED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THE BULLETIN TOLD THEM TO DO. HOW IS THIS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN? MY YUKON DROVE LIKE A LAWNMOWER VIBRATING AND HOPPING. VIBRATION CONTINUES. I'VE HAD PASSENGERS WHO ASK "WHY DOES YOUR CAR HAVE THE SHIVERS?" GM DEALER DID GET AHOLD OF A GMC TECHNICIAN WHO FLEW IN, AND DROVE THE CAR AND SAID -- YES IT HAS A VIBRATION, BUT IT IS IN ACCEPTABLE PARAMETERS. WE TRIED THE GMC BUYBACK PROGRAM, AND I WAS TOLD BY GMC THAT PROGRAM IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ME, EVEN THOUGH I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHEN I HAD LESS THAN 100 MILES ON IT. AND HAVE BEEN TAKING IT BACK REGULARLY SINCE.
