Took my Yukon in for L87 engine recall. Advisor informed me my engine failed. No symptoms, sounds or messages appeared.’
Dec 30, 2025
My vehicle was apart of the GM L87 recall. I took it to the dealership and it passed the recall and received the remedy which was an oil change. Now about 3 months later, I was driving in the highway at approximately 70 mph when the vehicle lost power and shifted to neutral. I had to attempt to veer off the highway with no acceleration. Upon getting it to the side of the highway, it wouldn’t do anything at all and had to be towed. The dealership has deemed it needs a new engine due to the failure the L87s are facing. We had no warning at all prior to the engine failure, and assumed that after passing a recall it had some degree of safety.

In April 2022, I purchased a brand-new 2022 Yukon Denali from Roberts-Robinson Chevrolet GMC in Excelsior Springs, MO. Shortly thereafter, the first engine failure occurred in October 2022. The vehicle was towed to GMC AutoNation in Golden, CO, where it remained until repairs were completed in January 2023. Soon after the vehicle was returned, the second engine failure occurred in February 2023. The vehicle was again towed to GMC AutoNation, and repairs were not completed until April 2023. At that time, given the repeated failures, I worked with GMC and Roberts-Robinson Chevrolet GMC to replace the vehicle entirely. I took delivery of a new 2023 GMC Yukon Denali as a resolution. On October 8, 2025, the engine on the 2023 Yukon Denali also failed, marking the third major engine failure I have experienced across these vehicles. The vehicle was towed again to GMC AutoNation in Golden, CO, where it remained for two months. I picked up the "repaired" vehicle on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. This pattern of failures has caused significant disruption and distress. I have spent countless hours coordinating tows, securing rental vehicles, and seeking reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. More importantly, these repeated engine failures, all of which occurred while I was driving 65 MPH on I-70 through the Colorado mountains, have created extremely dangerous situations for me and my loved ones. Navigating heavy traffic during sudden engine failure and waiting on the roadside for assistance has been frightening and unacceptable for a vehicle of this caliber. Overall, this experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing.

I brought my 2023 Yukon in for the 6.2 GM inspection, and was told my engine was good, and the engine oil was changed. Approximately 3 weeks later the engine in the Yukon failed (seized) while I was towing my boat at 55mph, nearly causing an accident. I was able to pull the vehicle and boat to the side of the highway in a precarious location, which put me, my family and property in danger. There were no warning signs or messages on the dash, and no engine sounds. I believe GM's recall inspection and "preventative" oil change did nothing, and gave me a false sense that the truck was safe to tow with. I want to make sure the NHTSA is aware that the engine failed even after being screened with the recall. THIS FALSE REASURRANCE THAT THE TRUCK IS SAFE IS PUTTING THE PUBLIC AT RISK
Dec 09, 2025
The vehicle engine experienced a failure on the highway at very high speeds with no warnings leading up to this occurrence, same as many of the experiences of the customers with the 6.2L engines, which have been recalled for these defects. This GMC Yukon has the 5.3L engine, however, has the same defects as the 6.2L engine, excessive oil consumption and eventually engine failure. I am without a vehicle, with an extremely high car loan, and have to replace an engine in a two year old $75,000 vehicle. This should be covered by GM as it was a known issue and continues to be sold to unknowing customers. Furthermore, I am paying even more money to put another engine in this vehicle with the potential of having the same issues as the problem has not been corrected. This is deceptive and theft by GM in my opinion, and not safe to have engines failing in the highway with no warnings at all.

The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, there was an abnormal clunking sound coming from the front of the vehicle; however, the contact was unsure if the failure was coming from the engine or transmission. The contact pulled over to the right side of the road, exited the vehicle, and inspected the vehicle, but found no failure. There was an unknown warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on four occasions. An unknown dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the valve body needed to be replaced. The valve body was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,395.

On April 30, 2025, my 2023 GMC Yukon with 68,000 miles on it (8,000 miles outside of the warranty and that I had purchased on 4/27/2024) randomly downshifted as I was turning into a parking lot and gave me a computer notification stating "Service transmission now, unable to shift soon." I immediately put my car in park and called OnStar for her to read me the computer code. She said it came up with two codes so we brought it to Wyatt Johnson GMC in Clarksville Tennessee. They plugged in their computer reader and that's when the service provider informed me that my car was un-drivable because it was unsafe. We left it there for them to do a diagnostic test on it to see exactly what is wrong with it. A few days later they contacted us and informed us that it was a malfunction in the transmission valve body. The dealership informed us that it would cost $2754.25 to fix but the issue is the part is on back order and they don't know when it will be available. We have been in contact with the dealership and with General Motors customer service almost weekly trying to find out, when the part will be available and where I am on "the list" and no one has an answer. With the personal research that I have done, I have seen that people have been waiting for over a year. I also know that there are current class-action lawsuits for GM's Yukons for years a little older than mine and currently multiple complaints for the newer Yukons for the same transmission valve body issues. The dealership does not give out loaners anymore after Covid. I have asked, general motors. Customer service has informed me that it's up to the dealership if they will give me one General Motors said they would look into a possible reimbursement program if I have to purchase a rental, but they will only cover a car that cost $44 a day and that is not including taxes and extra fees, but I can't afford to rent anything and I'm missing work.

My name is [XXX] , and I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a serious safety defect in my 2023 GMC Yukon with a 3.0 Duramax diesel engine. The issue involves the transmission valve body, which has caused rear wheel lockup at highway speeds. I experienced this issue at 34,000 miles on my vehicle, and it has been in the shop for over 5 weeks with no estimated time on parts availability. Despite opening a case with GM support, as detailed in the attached email transcript, I have not received a resolution. GM has refused to replace the complete transmission on the vehicle and only offered to replace the valve body. This is unacceptable as the defective valve body has already caused damage to the transmission. I also opened a BBB Auto Line case, which was closed immediately after I denied the offer from the GM support representative. This raises concerns about a potential conflict of interest, as the BBB Auto Line seemed aware of my interactions with GM support. I am seeking a complete transmission replacement with a valve body upgrade kit from NextGen transmission, which I believe would resolve the issue. However, GM has not accepted this offer. I request that the NHTSA investigate this matter promptly to ensure the safety of my vehicle and others that may be affected by this defect. If this issue is not resolved, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Vehicle has 32,000 miles and the valve body has gone out and now parts for possibly months. My vehicle has been in the shop over these first 2 years over 2 months. Now this issue with the valve body it has been in over two weeks and they claim it will be months before they can get parts. This issue puts the vehicle in limp mode and most likely is damaging the clutrch packs as they go out. People all over the forums are having issues with these 10 speed transmissions. Something needs to be done to help out those affected.

I am writing to formally express my concern and frustration regarding the prolonged delay in implementing a remedy for General Motors Safety Recall N252494000, which affects vehicles equipped with the L87 6.2-liter VB engine. This recall, issued in April 2025, was prompted by serious safety concerns involving sudden engine failure and loss of propulsion-conditions that significantly increase the risk of a crash. Despite the recall being acknowledged and a Special Coverage Bulletin (N252494003) issued in May 2025, there has been no clear timeline or actionable fix provided to affected vehicle owners like myself. The root causes, as identified by GM, include rod-bearing damage due to sediment and out-of-spec crankshaft dimensions-both stemming from supplier manufacturing defects. Given the severity of the issue and the number of vehicles involved (nearly 600,000), the lack of timely resolution is unacceptable. I urge the NHTSA to take further action to ensure that GM expedites the development and deployment of a permanent fix. Vehicle owners deserve transparency, accountability, and above all, safety.

The vehicle drove fine had no warning/ check engine lights. My girlfriend came up to a busy intersection and when she proceeded to cross the intersection the vehicles motor locked up stopping the vehicle in the middle of the intersection with traffic coming from both north and south direction. We had poor visibility due to blowing snow so she had to bail from the vehicle and stand on the side of the road so she would not be harmed if the vehicle was t boned. Vehicle stopped so hard and fast it threw her into the steering wheel. Was unable to get the vehicle restarted and could not get it to shift into neutral so vehicle blocked 1 lane of traffic completely and half of another lane until tow truck arrived to remove from road.

Vehicle was brought to dealership Fountain Buick GMC 8701 S Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32809 (866) 465-4364 for recall on engine. Dealership told our company that they were unable to repair or diagnose the recall this month June 2025. Vehicle has had an intermittent check engine light from time to time. I was instructed that it was safe to still drive the vehicle.

On March 28, my 2023 Yukon Denali stalled on a 4 lane road forcing me to make an emergency stop on the side of the road in a right hand turn lane. The vehicle required towing to a local GMC dealership. They could not restart the vehicle and upon evaluation found metal shavings in the oil. They have recommended an engine replacement. There was no warning, it just stalled and would not restart. My Yukon remains at the dealership and we are still waiting for an engine.

While driving on the mass pike with my fiancé and 4 kids our motor suddenly died. We were using cruise control going 75mph and the vehicle shifted into neutral itself and the car died. I managed to make it to a break down lane and we had to sit there for 2.5 hours before a tow showed up to help. The dealership said the motor seized and we were under the 60K for warranty and it was covered. They got us a rental the next day and then on the 3rd day they called and said it was lack of oil changes that caused it and they asked if i had records of service history. We bought the vehicle used and only had the vehicle long enough to perform 1 oil change. We did our oil change on time and I'm trying to locate service records from the dealership we bought it from. However there were no signs of dark and contaminated oil when i did the oil change at my shop and also no sounds or warnings coming from the vehicle prior to the motor seizing up. I think they are trying to get out of paying for the motor when its clearly a known problem with these 6.2l engines.

An unknown message was displayed. In addition, after restarting the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the transmission then shifted into neutral(N) independently after driving for several miles. The contact stated that the vehicle would not crank and was towed to a local dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into neutral and was towed while in park(P). The vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the local dealer for further investigation. The contact related the failure to GM investigation: PE25001. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,549.

My vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of OnStar and telematics functionality during or immediately following a routing/software update. I had taken my vehicle in for my engine recall and noted another software update was required and specifically was told by multiple service members over the phone that the onstar services/telematics module was impacted and this update should resolve it. After some initial research it appears this is related to N212331730, which impacts OnStar and telematics services. I brought the vehicle to an authorized GMC dealer for the recall. After inspection, the dealer informed me that the telematics control module has failed and must be replaced. This failure resulted in the loss of all OnStar safety-related services, including emergency response and vehicle communication features. The failure appears directly related to the recall condition or software update process, yet I am being told the module replacement is not covered. This creates a safety concern because emergency communication systems required for crash response and roadside assistance are nonfunctional. I am concerned that the recall remedy may be causing or accelerating telematics module failures and that affected vehicles may be left without critical safety systems unless owners pay out of pocket.

we brought my 2023 gmc yukon into Parks GMC in greenville sc on july 26, 2025 for the engine recall that we received a letter from. We left it as we were going on vacation for the week and picked it up the following saturday august 2nd. the next week my engine light started lighting up and my husband contacted the dealership and we were asked to bring it back in. We did and were told that we now had a bad Telematics Communication Interface Control Module that was causing my engine light to come on and that we were going to have to pay $600.00 out of our pocket to have this repaired. After researching we found that this is a VERY common and widespread problem with a lot of owners right after they bring their vehicles in to be serviced. We declined the repair, one because they did not have the part in stock as that apparently is also a big problem of not being able to get the part in stock and two because we feel like we should not have to pay to have this part replaced as it appears to be a widespread issue that is happening. The dealership also charged me $182 for diagnostic charges that I once again feel like we should not have had ton pay. Please advise us asap. our contact info is [XXX] [XXX] & [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The Telematics control module became defective and could not communicate with the BCM and serial data gateway module, causing a check engine light, loss of ONSTAR communications, clock, navigation, and remote vehicle-to-app communication. This part was known to be defective by GM. GM replaced the part starting in 2021 on Escalade models but not others. Service update # N212331730. The TCM became defective less than 24 months after purchase. The dealer stated the vehicle was over mileage for the warranty. The total repair cost was $1846, of which $1110 was labor. Replacement of the TCM was required to clear the check engine light.

onstar telematic module failed. dealer stated it shorted internally. upon researching online this is a pretty common issue. this module is important to safety as it can detect & report crashes, help get first responders on scene in the event of a crash, etc. my vehicle was less than three years old and had an active onstar subscription at the time of failure.

Electric trailer brake control module intermittently disabled trailer electric brakes while towing electric brake equipped trailers. This is the same issue addressed in GM service bulletin N232414840 which addressed a similar issue associated with GM pickup trucks. The loss of trailer brake utilization may create a safety hazard resulting from longer stopping distances. The factory control module was replaced with a redesigned module purchased from GM and the problem went away. I am of the opinion that the factory-provided module is a deficient design which warrants replacement by the vehicle manufacture.

I was driving on the highway going about 50 mph and the engine just stopped. It was very dangerous, and I couldn't get to a completely safe spot. I was stuck for 45 minutes there until police could get to my Yukon and help provide safety. I had 2 other passengers in the car. All of us were put at great risk and the surrounding traffic was also at risk. The Triple A towing took over an hour to get the vehicle on a flatbed because they couldn't get the Yukon in Neutral. There were absolutely no warning lights or any weird noises, the car shifted out of drive and would not go back into any gear. I am waiting for the dealership to decide what to do. My main reason for writing this complaint is this is a BIG HAZARD, not only for people who drive/ride in these vehicles but for every vehicle on the roads around them. When they stop with no warning, accidents and I'm sure some with fatalities will happen. This is a critical situation, and these vehicles should all be off the road. My Yukon was in my dealership service for an oil change about 1 week prior to this incident and I had a long conversation about the recall. They said my Yukon looked great and nothing was needed unless I had any problems. Since there have been so many others with the failed engine, ALL vehicles with this recall should be off the road to prevent totally innocent people from being in these dangerous situations. This is preventable if these cars are forbidden on the roads!!! GM must take responsibility before lives are lost due to this negligent reaction of issuing a recall but saying it is safe to keep driving unless there is a problem. If the first sign of a problem is failure with resulting catastrophic outcomes, then just issuing a recall is not enough. This must be addressed, PLEASE. This was a terrifying experience for me and my riders. I have no idea if the police filed the report but they spent alot of time trying to keep everything safe due to this issue.

I own a 2023 GMC Yukon Denali with the 6.2L V8 engine. A safety recall was recently issued for this vehicle due to a potential engine defect that could result in sudden and severe failure. However, GM has not provided a remedy, and dealerships are unable to offer any repair or trade-in options while the recall remains open and unresolved. I live in a rural area with limited cell service and long distances between towns. This makes the potential for sudden engine failure even more dangerous. Out of serious concern for my family’s safety, I no longer feel comfortable allowing my wife or our [XXX] child to ride in or use the vehicle. The risk of being stranded—or worse, getting into an accident due to engine failure—is too great given our location and the nature of this defect. I attempted to trade in the vehicle at a GMC dealership to get into a safer and unaffected vehicle, but the dealer refused to accept it because of the recall. This leaves me stuck with a vehicle that has a known safety issue and no solution in sight, limiting both my transportation options and peace of mind. There were no warning lights or prior symptoms before the recall. The issue was disclosed by the manufacturer. A dealer has confirmed the recall is active, but no fix exists. This situation is unacceptable and has real-world safety and financial consequences for families like mine. I urge the NHTSA to hold GM accountable and ensure a remedy is made available immediately to protect consumers who are left in limbo by this unresolved and serious safety defect. My vehicle started making a terrible noise. I had it towed to the nearest GM service center. 8/26/2025 I purchased the vehicle from Maguire in Syracuse, NY with open recalls. It is my understanding a dealership is required to have these fixed prior to selling a vehicle. I now have to drive 45 mins each way to get them fixed and miss additional 2 hours for wait time from work. Brakes could fail causing an accident.

My wife was driving in the vehicle with our two (2) infants on Dixie Hwy in Boca Raton, FL when the breaks suddenly stopped working. Fortunately, there was not a lot of traffic on the road at this time and eventually the vehicle slowed down and no one was injured. No warning lights came on. Once the car came to a complete stop my wife turned off the vehicle and started it back up; still no warning lights or anything. My wife drove a little further to get to a safer location (not in the middle of the road), unfortunately the car then completely stopped working and my wife was still stuck in the middle of the road...eventually a police officer (crash inspector) came to the scene and the car was towed to the dealership for repairs.

After GMC completed 4 recalls recently, my drivers side seat lumbar support started automatically inflating to the highest setting, as well as the shoulder support. I could not deflate the shoulder support at all, but could deflate the lumbar support, but had to do it every single time I got in the vehicle. After they did additional recalls about 30 days later, the issue got worse and often times I'm unable to deflate the lumbar support at all, making driving extremely uncomfortable and what I would deem slightly unsafe given how inflated the seat is. The fact that the 2nd set of recalls made this situation worse makes me suspect it's related to module updates as opposed to my particular seat. Now I am on the hook for a $1200 fix. 2 different GMC locations did the recalls.....I do not blame either of them, I believe this is a defect GMC should look into asap given they have had similar seat issues in the past.

The headrest in the 2nd and 3rd rows of the 2023 GMC Yukon are not adjustable or removable, reference page 39 of an owners manual. This is a major problem when installing car seats into the vehicle. Because of the design, the headrest tilt forward and do not allow car seats to properly sit against the back of the seats. This causes a gap between the back of the car seats and the seat back of the car. I have 4 kids and 3 different types of car seats. All of the car seat manuals say that for proper installation the car seats must seat flush with the seat back of the car. Well this cannot happen because of the design of the vehicle. Therefore I cannot properly install car seats of any type into this vehicle. I am not the only consumer with this issue as it is all over the internet as well. I have called GM corporate and they are not willing to address this safety concern as it would require a design change. I have attached pictures of 2 of the seats which have a gap between 2-5 inches depending on the height the car seats are set at.

Serious Safety Issue: While driving in the Rain, with the wipers on (actively working), randomly they will stop working. They will not work again until 10-15 minutes of time has passed. Any alternative setting makes no difference. During the 10-15 minutes of non-working wipers, there is nothing the driver can do…. Except wait. Depending where and when this occurs, this could be a deadly safety issue. I’ve checked the fuse; Turned off the rain auto-sensing feature – yet the vehicle is scary to drive in the rain, not knowing if / when the wipers may stop working again. During my ownership of this vehicle, this has happened three times; of course you must be driving during rain for the issue to occur.

My engine failed while I was driving & I had no warning. It was very scary & dangerous. Luckily I was in an area where I could get off the road quickly. It started skipping then lost power. I basically coasted off the road & had to call for help. It was making a bad knocking noise. This happened 2 weeks ago on April 16. It has been sitting at Glynn Smith.GMC dealership since. I was told by the service manager that the engine failed & I will need a new engine. the engines are on back order now. I fear they will replace it with the same problem. I see the recall this week but will changing the oil viscosity really fix it?? Doubtful. Someone is going to get killed or hurt from this problem. I do not want the same issue to happen with a new engine.

Problem Synopsis: Camera Issues in 2023 Yukon Denali Vehicle Information: Model: 2023 Yukon Denali Issue Description: The vehicle's camera system exhibits malfunctioning behavior after the vehicle gets wet, such as following intense rain. Problem Details: Initial Trigger: The problem begins when the vehicle is put into reverse after being exposed to water, particularly following heavy rainfall. Observed Malfunctions: The driver's side camera ceases to function immediately upon engaging reverse. Abrupt braking while in reverse leads to additional failures: The passenger side and forward-facing cameras also go black. Temporary Recovery: The cameras intermittently resume operation based on the vehicle's movement: Stepping on the brakes causes all cameras to go black. The cameras come back online one by one when the car rocks back, likely indicating water displacement around electrical connectors or modules. Hypothesis: The issues are likely caused by water affecting the electrical connections or modules associated with the camera system. This hypothesis is supported by the cameras' behavior correlating with changes in the vehicle's position and the presence of water. Recommendation: A thorough inspection of the camera system's connectors and modules is recommended, with particular attention to waterproofing and potential areas where water might collect and impact electrical components. Attached Evidence: The attached document contains pictures illustrating the camera issues as observed during the malfunction. These images were taken immediately after the intense rain when the vehicle was put into reverse and during the subsequent camera failures. STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Vehicle lost steering and brakes suddenly. Many errors on screen such as: Brake System Failure, ABS Failure, ESC Failure, Traction Control Failure, Maximum Vehicle Speed 43mph. Was able to slowly get home with no power assisted brakes. Did not drive it any more until it was taken to dealer 2 days later and the dealer could not replicate the errors. Dealer was able to see stored error codes; however, they could not verify any errors in any of the modules or computer. Dealer wants us to take it back and wife is scared to drive it due to no fixes or repairs. Loss of brakes and steering is NOT a situation to ask an owner to 'bring back when it happens again"

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
While driving in approximately 10°F weather after the vehicle had been parked outside overnight during snowfall in Chicago, the vehicle displayed a warning that said “Do Not Drive — Maximum Speed 43 MPH.” At the same time, the brake pedal became extremely hard and the vehicle had significantly reduced braking ability, requiring much longer stopping distance. This occurred without any brake warning lights beforehand. After the vehicle warmed up and was restarted, the message eventually cleared but then there was a new transmission warning and the check engine light went on. After driving for a long commute, eventually all warnings disappeared. I personally know another 2023 Yukon owner who experienced the exact same message and braking loss under similarly cold conditions, which suggests this may be a broader safety issue affecting this model year. Because this involved a sudden safety-system activation combined with temporary brake loss, there was a real risk of being unable to stop the vehicle safely or avoid a collision. My vehicle is within the year range of GM’s brake-system software recall N242447990 (eBCM brake fluid loss detection issue), and it is unclear whether my case is related, but the symptoms point to a potential systemic braking or electronic brake control problem in the 2023 Yukon. This issue warrants investigation due to the combination of: • Hard brake pedal • Reduced braking performance • Speed-limiting safety warning • No prior diagnostic warning • Occurrence in very cold temperatures A sudden loss of braking ability is a serious safety defect.

GM has failed to resolve repeated issues on my vehicle (VIN: [XXX] ). I was never notified of any official buyback denial. GM Customer Assistance continues to avoid clarifying the status and refuses to provide documentation of the denial. This creates an unresolved safety and reliability concern. I need an investigation into the consistent mechanical defects paired with GM’s refusal to properly process my claim. I bought my 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate on or around August 9 2023, and I bought it brand new. On May 28 2024, around 30k miles, I was on the highway and could no longer accelerate. I luckily got myself into the breakdown lane before my car shut down & lost power, ended up being towed to the closest dealership. After 18 days at the dealership, I finally had my car back with a "new engine". Fast forward to November 25, 2025, I was on the highway again, my dash lit up telling me to "press start". As i figured that was not a good idea while driving in the fast lane on the highway, I did not. in a panic I got myself over to the breakdown lane where my car turned off. This time (November 2025), I still had power, but no car turnover. After 6 days of my car sitting at the dealership, they finally had the time to look at the issue. The Dealership did the recall and got the car started, but the car still had a funny sound that the mechanics didn’t like , so they were waiting to hear back from higher up people as to what to do. Today I got the call that they will be replacing the engine for a second time and I will not have my car back until the first week of January. There were zero warning lamps, Zero Symptoms, nothing. I am Lucky that the Highway wasn’t too busy in that moment, because there were many 18 wheelers on the road that day, and one almost swerved into my car missing it by about two feet while my dead car sat in the breakdown lane. Yes I called the state police, Yes one trooper kindly pulled behind me to ask if I was safe and had a tow on the way. But that truck that nearly plowed into my dead car could have prevented me from picking my [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] daughters up from school, forever . To say that I am disgusted with GM, is an understatement. They’re risking lives. I should not fear for my life, my kids lives in a new, "safe" vehicle. No pun intended, but this is highway robbery. Purchased 2023 GMC Yukon on August 21, 2025 and after starting the vehicle on October 2, 2025 the whole instrument panel cluster malfunctioned, failed to turn on, currently does not work and is available for inspection upon request. The instrument panel cluster is all black, it shows glitching flashing white lines on the right side of it therefore being unable to read the speedometer, fuel gauges, tire pressure, oil life, engine temperature, etc.. Prior to the instrument panel cluster malfunction, there were no warning indicators. Being unable to view the instrument cluster, makes the vehicle hazardous & risky to utilize for me and my family. This vehicle has not been confirmed or inspected at this time.

1.    First incident While driving, the brakes failed and the entire infotainment/tablet system locked up. This presented a severe safety risk to my family and others on the road. The vehicle had to be towed to DEALER where I was told that “no problems were found.” I documented the incident with photos and videos showing the warning messages and system status.     2.    Second incident Approximately one week ago, after shutting off the vehicle, a “steering wheel lock” warning appeared and the truck became completely disabled. Even with jumper cables, it would not start. The vehicle had to be flatbed towed to DEALER. I again documented the incident with photos and videos showing the warnings.

I am experiencing ongoing issues with the infotainment system in my vehicle, which has remained unresolved despite multiple service visits. The system frequently blacks out, reboots while driving, and fails to function entirely at times, for days at a time. This is more than an inconvenience — it presents several serious safety concerns, including: •Loss of the rearview camera and parking assist features, making reversing hazardous. •Inability to access hands-free calling and navigation, increasing the risk of driver distraction and noncompliance with hands-free driving laws. •Disruption of access to climate controls and safety alerts that are routed through the infotainment system. •Frequent system crashes while driving, which divert my attention from the road. These issues compromise both the safety and usability of the vehicle, and I am requesting immediate action to resolve the problem under warranty.

Approximately 14’000 miles we were told a rod went through the engine. Our vehicle failed at a high rate of speed leaving myself, wife, and 2 young children to pull off a major highway and call for police to help slow traffic. This happened while driving 70 mph on the highway. The only warning we received was when the car went from “D” drive to “N” neutral on the highway. Fortunately, we had enough time to pull to the side of the road before complete engine failure. GMC road side was not helpful. We were told we would have to find a ride home over an hour away, and when our ride arrived, so did the tow truck. Then, they had to drag the vehicle onto the flatbed because the tow truck company did not have the unlocking device for the wheels. Upon getting it to our house, the tow truck company had to rock our vehicle off the bed! We were not able to tow it where we purchased it. We either had to tow it to the nearest GM dealer or our house. We chose our house because the nearest GM dealer from where we broke down would've been over an hour away from our house. Our second engine failed 2200 miles later while my wife was sitting at a light in a busy intersection. The car again went from “D” to “N,” and it was immovable. The cops had to be called because the tow company couldn’t come fast enough. We were towed out of the intersection, but I waited over 5 hours with several dropped tows for a tow company. That occurred on my birthday. We are now on our third engine, and GMC wouldn’t warranty the engine. Our brand new tires went at 32,000 miles because GMC could not confirm or deny that rocking our vehicle on and off the flatbed three times didn’t affect the alignment. The front two tires inside tread was worn. I was told the tires from the factory are 50+ thousand mile tires. We barely got 32,000 miles. We’ve had multiple issues with electronics, back up camera, and media package. The Lemon Law won’t cover us because our first engine did not fail before 12,000 miles.

Nuna is not responding to customers questions or concerns adequately. They continue to just send you to their recall page. Complaints are as follows: - They also aren't honoring their warranty and replacing or repairing carseats still under warranty. - This recall is also causing damage to other components of the carseat (such as the strap - fraying, other use issues) that Nuna is not addressing. - It took Nuna over 4 months to send out the repair kit. After I contacted them, not vice versa. - The recall replacement seat cushions are extremely difficult to get on the seats, not color matched (the main reason this matters is because customers paid higher prices for various colors and they aren't being made whole financially). This is clearly not a universal fit for all year models. Even adult men are struggling to get these cushions on the chair by pulling them incredibly hard to fit. -Their carseats associated with the recall are failing at random, not in predictable replicable ways. I've had several instances where a child was strapped in and tightened only to find the straps completely loosened as the destination. The variables of child weight in the seat and movement are not being factored into the safety tests associated with this recall. You are testing an empty seat completely cinched down - not realistic to everyday conditions when in use. -Once you repair the carseat it's difficult to get everything lined up perfect to know the button is functioning exactly as designed. I now pull aggressively on the seat straps multiple times every time before I take off to make sure all is well. That doesn't feel like a safety win. -Customers are left with fixing the issue themselves (lots of time spent!). Nuna takes no accountability. Nuna's responses have been horrible. Customer service gets an F. As a repeat customer I am extremely disappointed. I have explored all avenues with Nuna and as a result am filing a NHTSA complaint.

While driving the 370 miles from Fairbanks to Anchorage with our family and dogs, our vehicle shut down completely with no warning. The drive is through a very remote section of Alaska. While passing a slower vehicle, our Yukon completely shut down, to include the all controls including the dash and lights. We were unable to complete the pass, leaving us in direct line with on coming traffic with no ability to speed up to get around the other vehicle. The other vehicle, not knowing we had lost all power, continued driving the same speed and eventually we were able to get back into the proper lane and coast to a stop on the side of the 2 lane highway. The vehicle would not start and with the temperatures outside at 12 degrees it got chilly fast. Luckily we travel with all of our winter gear. Had this incident happened on one of the many steep descents or curves with snow and ice, the outcome could have been disastrous. My wife has decided that if the vehicle does get fixed, she does not feel safe driving home in it. Reading online forums show that this is a very common occurrence and individuals are looking into a class action lawsuit against GM due to the safety issues associated with this. An individual passing by had a code reader and tried to reset the ECM but could not. I will include the report.

I took my SUV (Yukon SLT 2023) to the GMC Dealership 4/5 months ago because of 2 recalls, Failed Brake Fluid Leak Detection and Serial Data Gateway Model. The car was repaired according to the dealership. About 2 weeks ago, I entered my garage to auto start my vehicle and my SUV would not auto start. I waited a few minutes and tried to start it again from inside the vehicle and it started. When it started, the engine light was on and on the dashboard, brake system failure was displaying. It was very strange. So, I let my vehicle idle for a couple of minutes and tried to move the car in the garage. The car started jerking when I put it in drive and a message displayed on the dashboard telling me not to drive my SUV over 40 mph. The brake system failure and engine light were still on. It was very strange. I parked my SUV and let it sit. I'm taking my SUV back to the dealership on Thursday. I'm thankful I wasn't on the highway traveling to work, who knows what could have happened. There are massive problems with these vehicles, brakes, engine, computer systems, etc. I do not feel safe driving my SUV. I drive 41 miles each way for work and I don't feel safe driving this vehicle now with all the recalls, including the engine.

The vehicle was crawling to a stop in preparation to park in front of my garage door. When I move my hand across the steering wheel, my hand must have come in contact with the toggle/scroll for the “resume speed” function of the cruise control. I note that in the past week, perhaps even two, the cruise control has not been used. The vehicle is driven 2-4 trips a day.
