My husband was I voved in a accident where the other driver hit him in the front side of the bumper where one of the airbag indicators are located. We took the vehicle in for inspection of repairs and they told us that that airbag sensor was triggered which caused the airbag light to turn off. We are concerned because of the sensor was hit then why didn’t the airbags deploy?...it shows on the steering wheel the small part has been lifted where the airbag is but it didn’t fully deploy..this is a big safety issue ..the husband could have been seriously injured if this was a huge accident because the airbags should have deployed if the sensors was hit. The seatbelt is also not properly working which is also an indicator that the airbags are not working now. I need someone to get back to me with this issue to resolve this issue and fix my airbags

TAKATA RECALL. SINCE I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE IN AUGUST 18, 2016, MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF. SOME PERIODS WERE A BIT MORE SPACED OUT THAN OTHERS. BOTH PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS ARE MALFUNCTIONING. THEY MAKE A VERY LOUD NOISE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LOCK/UNLOCK. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY WILL ONLY STAY UNLOCKED FOR A BRIEF MOMENT BEFORE MOVING BACK TO THE LOCKED POSITION. THE DOOR LOCKS STARTED MAKING A LOUD RACKET DRIVING AND STOPPING - WHEN YOU WERE DRIVING OVER 10 MPH LOCKS ARE SUPPOSED TO LOCK AUTOMATICALLY AND THEN WHEN YOU STOP AND PARK UNLOCK AUTOMATICALLY. APPARENTLY THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT COVERED FRONT DRIVER ACTUATOR AND RIGHT AND LEFT REAR DOOR LOCKS. THIS EXTENSION WARRANTY EXPIRED NOVEMBER 2015. HOWDY HONDA DEALERSHIP HERE IN AUSTIN TEXAS WAS ABLE TO HAVE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE BACK DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. THE NEW ACTUATOR WAS GOING OFF CONTINUOUS IN ATTEMPT TO LOCK THE BACK DOORS. I TOOK BACK TO HOWDY HONDA, THEY SAID THEY WOULD REPROGRAM MY KEY TO STOP IT FROM TRYING TO CONTINUOUSLY LOCK THE BACK DOORS AS IT WAS APPARENT THAT THE NEW ACTUATOR WOULD WEAR OUT RAPIDLY FROM DOING THIS.. Whenever I unlock the doors, the front passenger and rear passenger doors do not stay unlocked for more than a second. I am worried that if something happened (such as the car catching on fire), my passengers would be unable to get out of the car. I bought this car used with this problem; the owner before me also had this issue. To my knowledge, there was no prior warning to this problem occurring. Lock issues are a common occurrence with the model from 2007-2011 CRVs.

lock actuator failed, was repaired by Honda on 9/17/2021. Failed again on 1/7/23. Unable to unlock any door with assistance of local police, AAA. Could not get towed because vehicle could not be unlocked to put into neutral. Honda Customer service told me they could not help.

In our 2007 CRV the passenger front and rear door locks lock automatically right after using the fob or power lock control. I have to stand right at the door handle to grab it the moment I click the unlock button to be able to open the door. Our safety is jeopardized by the lock malfunction because if I don’t have the key in hand I cannot open the passenger side doors and if you have kids this is a big concern. This happens every time we use the vehicle which is daily. We have not taken it to a dealership at this time. This specific problem has not been inspected. This problem just began several months ago and has occurred everyday since.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 28 MPH, the rear driver’s side door unlocked independently. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that after exiting the vehicle and locking the doors with the key fob, the rear driver’s side door failed to lock as needed. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing all the door lock actuators to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 132,254. The contact stated that the manufacturer is well aware of the defect but no help has been offered yet. It was recommended to the contact to get all four door locks replaced but the parts are not currently available.

The passenger side door does not keep locked. A mechanic told me that this is because of faulty door actuator. Honda will not entertain to fix this 2- The Engine timing belt side has a mysterious oil leak. Honda doesnt entertain a fix either.

I received a safety recall letter in June and brought the car to a dealership for inspection. After the inspection, they said that they can't fix it, and the car is dangerous to drive. I contact American Honda, and after almost a month in back and forth with American Honda and the dealership, the car is again inspected, and the report was sent to Amercian Honda on July 29. Since then, I had been waiting for American Honda resolve the problem. We had contacted them every week and they response are always the same, no updates on the case, and someone is going to call me back, and this doesn't happen. They know the car is risk to drive, and we told them about many times in the calls that I don't have another car and don't have money to buy a car, so I need this to be resolved.

Front passenger door when unlocked, locks back by itself. This is not safe because it makes it hard to get out of the vehicle because when you think it’s unlocked and try to get out you’re locked in. I checked to see if there was a recall because I normally get recall notices about other issues. I found that there was indeed a recall but it expired in 2015 which in honesty is not fair to those that have had their vehicles for sometime and during that time period…and never received a recall notification.

My front passenger door lock is malfunctioning. When one tries to unlock the door, the lock immediately goes back to the lock position. It is easily demonstrated for inspection. It is unsafe for the passenger in case he needs to quickly exit the car in an emergency. After researching this problem today, I just learned that there was a class action suit against Honda concerning this issue and the plaintiffs won. But unfortunately for me the time period that Honda agreed to cover the cost of repairs expired in 2015. I purchased my pre-owned 2007 Honda CRV in 2016 and my passenger lock began malfunctioning in 2018. I looked up a recall on this issue but did not find one. I did not come across information on the law suit at that time.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction regarding the handling of the recall for my 2007 Honda CR-V due to frame corrosion. During the recall service, only a bracket was installed under the wheel well, addressing a single area despite extensive rust present throughout the frame and underbody. I believe the vehicle should have been considered for a buyback rather than a limited repair. Recently, my vehicle failed its safety inspection due to a rust hole in the frame, making it unsafe to drive and only suitable for scrap. When I contacted Honda for further assistance, I was informed that only recall-related issues would be addressed, and no additional support was offered. The presence of severe rust and a compromised frame poses significant safety risks, including: •Increased likelihood of structural failure in the event of a collision, which could result in serious injury or death. •Reduced effectiveness of critical safety components, such as seat belts and airbags, due to weakened mounting points. •Higher risk of suspension or wheel detachment while driving, potentially causing loss of vehicle control. I am deeply concerned about the safety implications and the inadequate resolution of the recall.

There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the subframe was completely rotted. The contact was informed that the vehicle could not be repaired. The contact was also informed that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000.

On 07/21/2023, I took my car to the dealership for an evaluation related to a recall on the Rear Frame Brace. The inspection revealed that my car was unsafe to drive, and I was informed that I could not take it off the dealership premises. Since then, I have been trying to reach an agreeable solution with America Honda Motor- Honda Recall, but they have not responded. I have also tried to get assistance from the Attorney General of my state but to no avail. The local Honda dealership still has possession of my auto, and this issue remains unresolved as of 02/11/2024.

The contact was informed that the dealer was unable to perform the recall repair due to a screw that had sealed due to corrosion. The dealer contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that since the screw was not able to be removed, to leave the screw as-is and the vehicle was still able to be driven. The contact had not spoken to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 116,000.

The Power Train: Automatic Transmission: Control Module (TCM, PCM) malfunctioned. My safety was at risk because the incident happened while I was operating the vehicle. No. No. The banging noise scared me so much that I turned off the vehicle without looking for warning messages.

TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY AND IT OFTEN SHUDDERS WHEN YOU DRIVE THE CAR WITH LOW RPMS. IF YOU GIVE IT MORE GAS IT STOPS SHUDDERING. NONETHELESS SHIFTING IS REALLY POOR FOR A BRAND WITH A GOOD REPUTATION.

Ref: NHTSA Recall #23V-228 We are requesting that the recall be reopened and revised to add complaint regarding Smail Honda located 5043, RT 30, Greensburg, PA 15601 who damaged our car when doing the recall. The dealership damaged the vehicle when they did recall attachment of braces, to the point where it will no longer pass Required PA Safety Inspection. On 9/21/23 we took our car to Smail Honda Village in Greensburg for Honda Campaign: UE3 related to corrosion of the rear frame on our 2007 Honda CRV. According to the reason for the recall “Corrosion can form in the rear frame” and “the rear frame can deteriorate”. In the recall notice, we were told: “Your Honda dealer will inspect the rear frame for corrosion…. If the rear frame cannot be repaired, Honda may offer to repurchase the vehicle from you.” My husband was told that the corrosion was so bad in the rear of the vehicle that it will not pass inspection. If it cannot pass the next PA state inspection, then essentially, it should be considered unsafe to drive. This would appear to represent the “spirit” of the recall which is to get unsafe Honda cars off the road and save lives. Nevertheless, the dealership did not offer to repurchase the vehicle as they should have done but they continued to attach the brace to this severely rusted frame which they, themselves, have determined is so bad that it will not pass inspection. The dealership has failed to remedy the dangerous corrosion of the rear frame in this vehicle which is the basic intent of the recall, and we are extremely dissatisfied with the attempt to remedy this safety issue. We are requesting that Honda Repurchase this vehicle and indicated in recall notice.

Honda CRV subject to NHTSA recall 23V-228. I called the dealer who confirms vehicle recall and informed me Honda has no parts available to carry out the recall. Called Honda customer service, phone agent initially said vehicle has been recalled, and I can get reimbursed for parts needed to fix it. I explained Honda dealer said no parts available. Honda CSR after a brief hold said upon further review, that my vehicle has not been recalled. I told her that contradicted her initial information, the NHTSA web site, the Honda recall web site and my conversation with the dealer. The CRV was purchased in a rust belt state and operated in a rust belt state for approximately 14 years. I explained several times to Honda CSR that this wasn't a simple broken radio recall, but a safety recall indicating that the vehicle could crash when something breaks on the rear axel when driven. Honda again said my vehicle had not been recalled.

IN AUGUST, 2010, WE PURCHASED 4 GOODYEAR ASSURANCE FUEL MAX TIRES. ON DECEMBER 7, 2012 , MY WIFE AND I EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT TO OUR REAR TIRE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE-95 IN FLORIDA AT A HIGH SPEED ((70MPH) CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF OUR 2007 HONDA CRV. WE SWERVING ACROSS SIX LANES OF TRAFFIC, ALMOST FLIPPED, AND NARROWLY AVOIDED CRASHING INTO CONCRETE A WALL BEFORE I FINALLY OBTAINED CONTROL OF THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO PULLEY OFF ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE. OUR VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY GOODYEAR IN OCTOBER, AND THE TIRES WERE INSPECTED AND ROTATED AT THAT TIME. AT THE TIME OF THE BLOWOUT, THE TIRES ONLY HAD 27,000 MILES ON THEM. THEY ARE WARRANTIED FOR 65,000 MILES. WE CONTACTED THE GOODYEAR STORE THE NEXT DAY, AND THE MANAGER INSPECTED THE TIRE AND COULD NOT DETERMINE WHY THE TIRE BLEW OUT. HE ASKED IF WE HIT SOMETHING. WE DIDN'T HIT A THING. WE JUST HEARD A POP. THE ASSISTANT MANAGER OF THE STORE STATED, "THAT'S WHAT THEY ALL SAY," REGARDING OUR STATEMENT THAT WE HIT NOTHING. THESE TIRES ARE ABOUT ONE YEAR OLD, HAVE APPROX. 35,000 MILES ON THEM AND MY VEHICLE HAS AN OUTSTANDING SERVICE RECORD. COPIES OF RECEIPTS SHOW THAT EVERY 40,000 MILES I PURCHASED NEW TIRES. ALL WORK AND ALL PART PURCHASES HAVE BEEN DONE 100% AT HONDA DEALER-JACK MATIA IN ELYRIA, OHIO. THE ONLY SERVICE PERFORMED OUT OF THE DEALER IS TWICE A YEAR DETAIL SERVICE DONE AT A REPUTABLE DETAIL SHOP IN WESTLAKE, OHIO. UPON MY CONTACTING THE DEALER AND VISITING THEM, THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN HOW THIS COULD BE MISSED AND NEVER WITNESSED "DRY ROT". THE RETURN/CREDIT PROCESS WITH THE DEALER AND TIRE RACK (HONDA'S DISTRIBUTOR) WAS AN INSULT ON TOP OF HAVING TO PURCHASE BRAND NEW TIRES AND MY CHOICE, A DIFFERENT BRAND. I EXPRESSED MY DISAPPOINTMENT AND ANGER TO THE GENERAL MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INSULTED. I was backing out of a parking space in a lot when my car lurched forward and accelerated. I had to slam on the brake to stop it but by then I had hit the car parked next to me as well as the grocery cart return racks. I did significant damage to both but no one was hurt. A routine maneuver turned into a terrifying event. It felt as if the car went from going routinely in reverse to taking off in drive. At first I thought that my foot had slipped off the brake and stated as much but I was speaking kind of out of shock and bewilderment, it was a pretty intense experience. My foot would not have been on the braked since I was backing out. There were obstacles to my pulling forward, namely the grocery cart return racks. When it was over I turned off my engine and my transmission locked and stayed that way for about 10 minutes. I had a similar experience in March 2019 but it was after a very heavy snowstorm so I didn't file a claim with the insurance carrier, I thought it must be condition related but conditions were perfect yesterday. I noticed that there are similar complaints listed here so what does it take to initiate a recall? I also noticed that a milder version of what I experienced was cause for a recall on the 2008 Honda Ridgeline associated with the accelerator pedal assembly. That resulted in the assembly being replaced in Honda CR-Vs through 2006 so I wonder whether 2007's have a variation of the same problem or they should have been included in that recall. I've filed an insurance claim and I've contacted American Honda but their attitude toward it is pretty casual. Uploading pics of the collision, the idea being that they show the damage done as I am moving forward even though I started out backing up. I don't thing you accept Mac movie formats. Thanks.

I was driving down the street as i had just came off a major highway. Route 71 north. My back left frame stiffner broke off my car, had i been driving still on the highway, i could have easily been killed. There was a recall for this exact problem in Canada. Why not here in the United States?

VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION BOTH TIMES. THIS SYSTEM INDICATOR ALSO AUTOMATICALLY TURNS ON THE VSA AND CEASES TO MONITOR TIRE PRESSURES WHEN IT IS LIT UP. NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT WHILE DRIVING. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY ABOUT WHEEL BEARING AS MY CAR WAS RELATIVELY NEW(~20,000 MILES). THIS PROBLEM STARTED IRRITATING ME AND HENCE TOOK TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC AND FOUND OUT THAT FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BEARING WAS SHOT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. The contact owns a 2007 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH and entering a parking lot, the vehicle inadvertently stopped without depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the SRS and Seat Belts warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact heard a sound like breaking glass and the seat belts tightened and trapped the contact and his wife. The contact stated that once he turned the vehicle off the seat belts released; however, the passenger’s side seat belt failed to retract. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer where the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,956. The contact stated that both affected seat belts have been replaced and the vehicle is operating correctly.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the rear passenger's side of the vehicle collapsed inadvertently. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact noticed that the rear passenger's side wheel had detached and rotated 90 degrees into the wheel well. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was determined that the vehicle had failed the recall inspection test. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was beyond repair and could be repurchased by the manufacturer per the recall remedy. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened; however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

While performing maintenance on the car, I found that the left (drivers) rear mounting bracket which is a part of the frame/body, and hold the right rear trailing arm - holding the rear axle was severely rusted and cracking apart from corrosion. The right (passenger) bracket showed no rust damage. This problem has been reported by others, and Canada has found the same issues and issued a recall for this car/vin group. Although this car is 15 years old, this thick 3/8" heavy metal bracket should not have disintegrated like this even with the salt used on the highways, and is shown with absolutely no issue with the right (passenger side)bracket. Upon taking it to the dealer, there was nothing they could do, nor could they get the "fix" being used in Canada or any other information as to how they are correcting this problem. Suggestion is to buy a new car or take it to a body shop and see if they could fabricate a repair. Honda dealer did not seem to be too concerned about this rust, so I will have to go elsewhere to have it evaluated. From what I have found here on the internet, this is a serious problem, and when it breaks as it has for others, you loose control of the car because the axle is now only attached to one side of the car. If there is a fix for this, (as they have one in Canada) they should be compelled to provide it. This isn't a who pays for the repair. It's been known for some time now, and they should have already addressed this. But to withhold the safety fix isn't acceptable.

While driving vehicle on 07/01/2021 the right rear trailing arm disconnected from the right rear frame rail due to corrosion. Transport Canada issued a recall (#2019-025) for 83,953 Honda CR-V's sold new in Canada for this problem. My Honda CR-V was manufactured at the same plant as those recalled in Canada. The reason for the recall in Canada was because these vehicles were driven on roads treated with deicing materials, much the same as vehicles driven in Illinois. This vehicle has not been inspected by American Honda. This is a clear safety issue due to the nature of the suspension becoming detached with no notice.

AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET, THE RIGHT REAR SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM CAME LOOSE FROM THE FRAME. THE RIGHT WHEEL TIRE SUBSEQUENTLY BECAME LODGED AGAINST THE REAR OF THE WHEEL WELL AT AN ANGLE. I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. POLICE ARRIVED TO BLOCK OFF THE NEAREST LANE SO I COULD SAFELY BE TOWED FROM THE SCENE, AS THE CAR WAS UNDRIVABLE. I AM FORTUNATE THAT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AT HIGH SPEED, AS I DO NOT BELIEVE I WOULD HAVE SAFELY BEEN ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTROL ARM CAME LOOSE DUE TO EXCESSIVE RUST ON THE FRAME. THE AREA AROUND THE MOUNTING LOCATION FOR THE ARM IS TORN AWAY FROM THE FRAME, THE NUTS AND BOLTS ARE STILL ATTACHED TO THE FRAGMENTS OF FRAME THEY WERE ORIGINALLY MOUNTED TO. THIS MODEL YEAR CRV IS UNDER RECALL FOR EXCESSIVE CORROSION IN CANADIAN PROVINCES WHERE ROAD SALT IS EXTENSIVELY USED IN WINTER. THIS MODEL WAS PURCHASED IN MINNESOTA, WHERE ROAD SALT IS EXTENSIVELY USED IN WINTER.

I am having door lock issues with all my locks on my car. It started with my front passenger and now both rear are also having issues. When I click the unlock button on the keyfob they unlock then lock again. Same with the unlock button on the drivers door. When I'm driving (accelerating), the drivers door will click as if it is trying to lock even though it already is.

Passenger Door Lock Actuators are not working properly on front passenger and rear doors. Doors may be unlocked from the outside or inside but will immediately lock again with 1-2 seconds. This is a major safety issue in the event of an emergency as one may be trapped in the car or not be able to get to a person in the car even once the doors are 'unlocked' they will only remain unlocked for 1-2 seconds. I do not feel safe nor do i feel safe having my wife or kids in the car as a result of this issue.

Hello, My vehicle's door motors or actuators are not working, specifically the driver side back door and the rear baggage door. This happened as we were trying to get into the vehicle while it was raining heavily on the side of the road due to an emergency toilet brake. This of course was frustrating as we were trying to get into the car and put stuff in the car, and put us in harms way of upcoming traffic because some of us could not get in. This problem has been rampant by Honda Motor company and they had a recall regarding this issue. There were no warning lights for this. We just heard a loud buzz when we tried to open the doors.

I had issues with the horn blowing itself when I made certain turns and when I took my car to Honda they told me the spacer between the horn and the airbag had disintegrated and they found no evidence of it even being in there they don't know what happened but there's no recall they're only fix unless I paid thousands of dollars to replace the airbag was unhook the horn now I'm having to drive around with a Honda with no horn because they say there's no recall on this

IN JULY 2017, WHILE CAR IN PARK AND RUNNING, DASH AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON AS PASSENGER WAS PUTTING ON HER SEAT BELT AND REMAINED ON WHILE DRIVING UNTIL CAR ENGINE WAS SHUTOFF. MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG WAS RECENTLY REPLACED BY RICK CASE HONDA AND I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER IN JULY 2016 THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND ALSO ONE DOOR LOCK HAS TO BE REPLACED. AND THIS TIME THERE WILL BE NO LOANER VEHICLE BE PROVIDED AS BEFORE. I WAS TOLD NOT TO SEAT ANYBODY IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED WHICH COULD TAKE UP TO TWO MONTHS. THIS CREATES A GREAT INCONVENIENCE FOR US , WE ARE DRIVING SOMETIMES APP. FOUR HOURS ON A ROAD TRIP AND THE PASSENGER WOULD BE CONFINED IN THE BACK SEAT. WHAT ABOUT IF WE HAVE FOUR PASSENGERS? I GREATLY WOULD APPRECIATE AN ANSWER. ALSO, I TRIED TO CONTACT A HONDA DEALER SHIP IN NORTH MIAMI FL. I have dumped around 6k into this car and the issues span several different mechanics and a towing company. I stopped into a Firestone tire where they sold me new tires, struts, brakes, and a lifetime alignment. They didn’t do the alignment which destroy the 70k miles tires in 10k at which point they told me it was my fault for not getting an alignment. I said you charged me for the lifetime alignment. They took no ownership and after I got infuriated with the lack of support they banned me from calling any Firestone. Corporate won’t call me back. Fast forward and my car started doing the death wobble. I bought a new rack, pressure line, and oil pan as the pan was leaking. I guess when they did the oil change at Firestone they used an impact wrench and it was leaking from the oil bolt. I purchase the oil pan, gaskets, and oil. I posted up in a parking lot and jacked the car up. For one reason or another I couldn’t finish it on my own so I had a company c&s towing tow the car to Juan Carlos’ garage. C&s towing dragged the car in the flat bed breaking a range of things from a motor mount to a possible cv axle. The car is popping and is non functioning now. I got the car to Juan Carlos’s garage a week later after spending $500 in towing. Mr Carlos told me he only accepted cash and upon further questioning him while filming him he openly stated he accepted card. When I asked him why he profile me he had no response. The car is running worse than ever after it came back from Juan Carlos’s garage. The timing cover gasket he said he replaced is leaking. The oil cover gasket he said he replaced is leaking. He broke off a bolt in the timing cover and it looks like there is an entire bracket missing from the side where the timing cover is. The car is making terrible noise and the transmission is slipping now. I am very unsure why or how I have paid these people to work on my car. When it just gets worse. I got a credit card with Firestone and they won’t call me back to speak

WE TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT & WAS TOLD THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE WAS CORRODED AS WELL AS THE "TRANSMISSION" HOSE HAD RUSTED. WE FOUND IT VERY UNUSUAL THAT A POWER STEERING HOSE WOULD CORRODE GIVEN THE FACT THAT WE BOUGHT THE HONDA NEW AND IT HAD BEEN RECENTLY SERVICED AND INSPECTED AT THE COST OF OVER $500.00 LAST YEAR. THE HONDA DEALER FOUND LEAKING POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSE AND ALSO REPLACED THE COOLER LINE WHICH WAS TOO RUSTED. THE COST FOR THIS REPAIR WAS $762.46!! WE DON'T KNOW IF HONDA USED INFERIOR QUALITY HOSES BUT IT SURE SEEMS LIKE IT BECAUSE I NEVER HAD TO REPLACE MY POWER STEERING HOSE FOR MY 1994 TOYOTA PICKUP TRUCK & HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM REMOTELY RELATED TO "CORROSION" OR "RUSTING" ACCORDING TO THE HONDA TECHNICIAN'S SERVICE REPORT. TWO ITEMS OF CONCERN TO REPORT: DOOR LOCKS - BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NO LONGER LOCK AND ONCE THE CAR IS IN MOTION, THE DOORS WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. WHEN IN PARK, THE BACK DOOR REMAINS UNLOCKED EVEN AFTER THE DOORS HAVE BEEN SECURED. - MAJOR SECURITY / SAFETY ISSUE - CHILDREN IN THE BACK OF THE CAR RENDERS CHILD LOCKS USELESS. CAR WILL NOT START / SHUTS OFF IN MOTION: I HAVE HAD 4 TOTAL INSTANCES (2) OF EACH IN THE PAST MONTH. WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT SLOW SPEED, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHES AND THE CAR DIES. THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER WHEN TRYING TO TURN ON. FINALLY STARTED ONCE CAR WAS PUT INTO NEUTRAL - COMPUTER COMPLETELY RESETS - HAVE TO ENTER RADIO CODE. THE HATCH WOULDN'T OPEN. NOTICED THE BACK LEFT DOOR WAS STUCK LOCKED WHILE OTHER DOORS OPENED WHEN UNLOCKED W/KEY REMOTE AND MANUALLY FROM FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. SO I MANUALLY OPENED THE LOCK ON THE BACK LEFT DOOR WHICH ENABLED THE HATCH TO OPEN. FROM THEN, THE BACK LEFT DOOR WOULDN'T LOCK. NOTICED THIS WHILE DRIVING--MY SON OPENED DOOR SEVERAL TIMES, LUCKILY WE WEREN'T ON THE FREEWAY AND HE WAS IN A CHILD SEAT. OTHERWISE HE WOULD'VE FLEW OUT. APPROXIMATELY 5 WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING LOCALLY WITH MY WIFE AND 6 YEAR OLD SON IN THE CAR WHEN WITHOUT WARNING THE BRAKES SUDDENLY ENGAGED CAUSING THE CAR TO COME TO A SUDDEN STOP. THE VSA WARNING LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR BUT CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. AFTER PRESSING AND PULLING THE BRAKE PEDAL FOR SEVERAL MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO GET THE BRAKES TO RELEASE. TODAY I RECEIVED A FRANTIC CALL FROM MY WIFE BECAUSE AS SHE WAS DRIVING THE CAR THE BRAKES SUDDENLY LOCKED UP WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING AND CAUSED THE CAR TO COME TO A SUDDEN STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. AFTER THIS FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE SHE IS UNDERSTANDABLY AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYMORE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND READ OTHER HONDA CRV OWNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. HONDA HAS RECOGNIZED THIS PROBLEM IN THEIR PILOT MODEL AND HAS RECALLED OVER 183,000 VEHICLES BUT HAS YET TO RECOGNIZE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE CRV MODEL. THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE TO BRAKE UNEXPECTEDLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP OBVIOUSLY POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK. HONDA NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE THIS DEFECT IS NOT LIMITED TO THEIR PILOT MODEL, BUT TO ALL MODELS WHICH THEY MANUFACTURE THAT SHARE THE SAME OR SIMILAR COMPONENTS AS THE PILOT MODEL INCLUDING THEIR CRV AND OTHER MODELS.

THE VEHICLE HAD ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH ILLUMINATED. IT LOST ITS ABS AND VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL. IT DID NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO US SINCE THE ROAD WAS NOT THAT CROWDED. DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON FREEWAY AND FRONT WHEELS BEGAN TO SHIMMY AND VEHICLE SLOW DOWN. STEPPED HARDER ON THE ACCELERATOR AND MANAGED TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. THEN MANAGED TO GET THE CAR UP AN EXIT RAMP AT WHICH POINT THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. HAULED THE CAR TO A DEALER WHO SAID THE BRAKES WERE "CONTAMINATED" AND ALL PARTS NEED TO BE REPLACED, INCLUDING THE ABS MODULE FOR $6,300. AN INDEPENDENT AUTO REPAIR INDICATED THERE WAS A FIRMWARE PROBLEM WITH THE ABS MODULE AND READOUTS FOR THE FRONT WHEEL SENSORS(OBD SCANNER). INDEPENDANT REPAIR SHOPS SAY THE DEALER IS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS THE EQUIPMENT TO DEAL WITH THE ABS SYSTEM.

IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AT A DISTANCE FURTHER THAN NORMAL BECAUSE THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP IN A TIMELY MANNER. PASSENGER SIDE DOOR: I CAN UNLOCK THE PASSENGER DOOR WITH THE KEY FOB AND THEY WILL RE-LOCK THEMSELVES WITHIN 2 SECONDS. FEW DAYS AGO I WENT INTO PHARMACY AND LEFT MY 8 YEAR OLD NIECE IN THE CAR TO PICK UP FEW THINGS. CAME BACK OUT IN ABOUT 5-7 MINUTES AND SHE WAS CRYING HER EYES OUT YELLING AND SCREAMING. 1ST FAILURE WAS TIRES IN REAR OF THE VEHICLE WERE WORN ON THE INSIDE CAUSING THE TIRE TO DEFLATE. RETURNED TO THE DEALER ASKING THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY BLAMED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER. PUT NEW TIRES ON HAD ALL THE NECESSARY DEALER SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. ROTATION ECT. THE NEW TIRES INSTALLED AT 42,000 BEGAN TO SHIMMY BADLY IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AT 63,000 MILES. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALER IN FL AND THE TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED IN THE REAR BECAUSE OF THE SAME WEAR AS THE 1ST SET. THE REAR SUSPENSION CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. THE SOLUTION WAS AFTER MARKET (NOT HONDA MFG PARTS) WITH AN ADJUSTABLE ARM. THE CAMBER CAN NOW BE ADJUSTED TO MAKE THE VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE, THE TIRES WOULD HAVE WORN OUT IN AN AREA NOT EASY TO SEE AN CAUSE A BLOWOUT AT HIGH SPEED WOULD BE A REAL PROBLEM. HONDA CORP WILL NOT ADMIT FAULT. I SEE MANY PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS I EXPERIENCED. THE EXTENDED VEHICLE INS. I PURCHASED WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM. THEY SAY HONDA HAS MODIFIED THIS PART AND THEY WILL NOT PAY. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IN MY OPINION BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE MY TIRE FAILURE OCCUR AT A SLOW SPEED. I PURCHASED MY CR-V AS A CERTIFIED USED CAR WITH 7000 MILES. THE TIRE NOISE KEPT GETTING LOUDER AS THE MILES GREW. BY 18,000 MILES I COULDN'T TAKE IT AND WENT TO THE DEALER. THIS MORNING CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN, FOLLOWED THE SAME PROCESS OF LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, LIGHTS COME ON AND CAR WOULD START (NO BLINKING RADIO THOUGH). DROVE INTO WORK, STOPPED AT INTERSECTION. I BOUGHT A 2007 HONDA CRV AND WAS ALMOST RUN OVER BY IT TODAY. IT APPEARS THERE MIGHT BE A DEFECT WITH THE CAR. I HAD PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I LEFT IT ON SO THAT MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WOULD HAVE AIR CONDITIONING WHILE I WAS UNLOADING THE CAR AND PUTTING THINGS IN THE GARAGE (THIS PROCESS TOOK APPROX. 5 MINUTES). I THEN WENT TO THE BACK SEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND GOT MY DAUGHTER OUT OF HER CAR SEAT. I THEN SHUT THE BACK DOOR AND OPENED THE PASSENGER DOOR TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE PASSENGER SEAT AND GRAB THE CAR KEYS WHICH WERE IN THE IGNITION. I TOOK THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION AND THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACK WARDS DRAGGING ME WITH IT...AS I WAS STUCK BEHIND THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. I WAS HOLDING THE KEYS IN MY HAND AND SCRAMBLING TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS IN PARK...IT WAS AND THE CAR KEPT ROLLING. PURCHASED A NEW HONDA CRV FROM BOB BARBOUR HONDA IN GREENVILLE NC. IN JULY. AFTER 2,300 MILES THE REAR PARKING BRAKE WAS DESTROYED. HONDA REFUSED TO FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY CLAIMING THAT IT WAS TOWED WITH THE BRAKE ON. IT WAS NOT, AS I CHECKED THE BRAKE LIGHT AND FOOT PEDAL WHEN I LEFT. AFTER REPLACING ALL THE BRAKE PADS, ROTOR AND BEARINGS IT WAS STILL NOT WORKING RIGHT AND THEY DETERMINED THE CABLE WAS BAD. The passenger car door unlocks for no reason. It used to automatically lock when I start driving , now it starts to open and will not remain locked while driving, or when I lock my car door when I park. When I use the key fob the car alarm goes off and the door is still unlocked. This car has had a recall on the airbags. The light comes on once in a while. It was fixed by the Honda Dealership but recently, once in a while , the light still comes on. It is concerning . The air pressure warning light will remain on even after I have had my tires checked.

My catalytic converter was stolen when my car was parked. Honda owners has been targeted for its catalytic converters, and there are numerous reports of Honda’s cats being stolen. Honda has a major defect where it makes it easier for thieves to steal the cat in minutes. There are 3 major flaws with the product. 1) Hondas don’t automatically come with a cat converter steel shield, cage, or other protector to make them harder to steal. 2) Hondas don’t install their cat in the engine compartment like other car manufacturers to deter theft. 3) Honda’s cat contains valuable materials, which is why they are targeted. Other car brands tend to have less valuable catalysts so thieves are not incentivized to steal them. Because there are many cats being stolen, there is a shortage to replace them, and car owners have to wait weeks to months to get their cat replaced. It’s been almost 2 weeks, and my car is still at the mechanic’s waiting for a replacement catalytic converter. My safety, and the safety of my family, including two kids, were compromised because I had to drive my family home (and we live in a hilly area) without a cat as it was stolen Sunday evening, and I had to wait until the next day to get it to the mechanic’s. The warning light appeared when I started the car, but by the telltale sound my car made, I already knew the cat was stolen. A police report was filed and the claim with my insurance was completed. Cats are very expensive to replace and an inconvenience for a 1-car family. Now we don’t have a car to do basic necessities like take the kids to school, go grocery shopping for the family, go to work, and go to doctor appointments.

HONDA CRV 2007 ISSUE: DOORS WHEN LOCKED BY EITHER REMOTE OR VIA CAR WOULD LOCK ALL DOORS EXCEPT THE DRIVERS. HONDA DID COVER IT THE FIRST TIME THEN A YEAR LATER THE ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME WAS IN THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE. WHEN CHECKING WASHER FLUID, I NOTICED THE FLUID WAS NOT VISIBLE, SO I ADDED THE PROPER FLUID. AS NOTHING HAPPENED, I LOOKED UNDER CAR, & THE WASHER SOLUTION WAS RUNNING OUT ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR, AS I POURED IT INTO JUG. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION, I FOUND PIECES OF THE TUBING THAT HAD BEEN CHEWED ON, AND IN SOME AREAS, CHEWED COMPLETELY THROUGH. ONE OF THESE AREAS I WAS ABLE TO ACCESS VIA A PLASTIC DOOR, ABOUT 12 INCHES WIDE, BY ABOUT 2 INCHES IN HEIGHT, LOCATED UNDER THE HOOD, IN THE CENTER OF THE FIREWALL, JUST BELOW THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. I FOUND PIECES OF TUBING IN THIS AREA, ALSO. LOOKING FURTHER, I FOUND INSULATION THAT MICE HAD MOVED FROM AN UNKNOWN AREA, TO MAKE THEIR NEST. WITH SOME DIFFICULTY, I FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL FROM A HONDA REP, IN CALIFORNIA. AFTER ABOUT 25 MINUTES OF DISCUSSION, IN A PEACEFUL MANNER, I WAS NOT OFFERED ANY SOLUTION TO THE MICE PROBLEM, AS I WAS TRYING TO GET HONDA TO HELP ME DETERMINE WHERE THE POINT OF ENTRY WAS LOCATED AT, IN THE CAR BODY, THAT WOULD ALLOW MICE TO GAIN ENTRY. AS A FORMER AUTO MECHANIC, & A STRUCTURE AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, I PLANNED TO MAKE THE REPAIR MYSELF. (THE INSULATION MOVEMENT COULD BE AFFECTING THE A/C & HEATING SYSTEMS, ALSO). LATER, I FOUND BOTH OF THE WIRES TO THE LEFT CLEARANCE LIGHT HAD BEEN CHEWED COMPLETELY THROUGH, WIRE & ALL. I LATER READ ON A WEB SITE, THAT THE WIRING INSULATION WAS MADE OUT OF RECYCLED FOOD MATERIAL, SUCH AS THE HUSKS FROM CORN, OR PODS FROM MATURE DRIED BEANS!! ENGINE AND VSA WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON FOR OUR 2007 HONDA CR-V. HONDA DEALER SAID IT WAS OUR TIMING CHAIN AND THAT THIS WAS A TYPICAL PROBLEM WITH CARS OVER 100,000 MILES. HONDA SUPPOSEDLY HAD SOLVED THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR BELTS BY GOING TO THE CHAIN. OUR CAR HAD 98,000 MILES ON IT. THE COST TO FIX THIS WAS $1,600.00! THE BACK PASSENGER'S SIDE WHEEL HAD A "HOT" SMELL COMING FROM IT. HONDA SERVICE DETERMINED I HAD A BRAKE PAD THAT HAD GOTTEN STUCK. BRAKE PAD WAS REPLACED, AS WELL AS FIXING THE ROTOR. A FIRST-TIME CAR BUYER, I HAD PAID IN FULL USING MY HARD-EARNED MONEY WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE A RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE AND TROUBLE-FREE CAR. ALAS, I BEGAN NOTICING SOME IRREGULARITIES WITH THE CAR SOON THEREAFTER. TO NAME BUT A FEW, THEY ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1) A TAPPING SOUND IN THE BACK OF MY CAR; 2) A WET SPOT NOTED ON THE FLOOR OF MY GARAGE UNDER THE HOOD AREA; 3) INTERMITTENT INABILITY TO START THE CAR WHEREBY THE BATTERY LIGHT WOULD COME ON; AND 4) INABILITY TO ACCELERATE, BUT SUDDEN SURGE THEREAFTER WHEN DRIVING. HAVING JACKED UP THE CAR AND REMOVED ALL THE BACK PANELS TO THE VEHICLE, THEY HAD DETERMINED THAT THE DEFECTIVE WELD OR WELDS WERE LOCATED FURTHER WITHIN THE VEHICLE AND MY CAR WOULD NEED TO BE SENT TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP TO BE FURTHER STRIPPED APART TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF DEFECTIVE WELDS IN QUESTION. 2) A POWDER TEST PERFORMED ON MY ENGINE HAD DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. 3) THEY HAD YET TO DETERMINE WHY MY CAR WOULD FAIL TO START AND THE BATTERY LIGHT APPEAR; AND 4) THE SUDDEN SURGING OF MY VEHICLE ONCE I HAD STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR WAS DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION. WE PURCHASED A HONDA CR-V 2007 AT OURISMAN HONDA IN BETHESDA, MARYLAND, ON DECEMBER 28TH, 2006. ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS WE BOUGHT THIS CAR IS THE MPG ADVERTISED BY HONDA AMERICA, WHICH IS 22/MPG IN THE CITY AND 28/MPG ON THE HIGHWAY (PERFECTLY VISIBLE ON THE BIG STICKER ON THE SIDE WINDOW OF THE CAR). UNFORTUNATELY, THE CAR IS NOT PERFORMING WITHIN THESE NUMBERS, THAT IS THE REASON WHY WE CONTACTED YOU ALREADY AND GOT THIS CASE NUMBER. NOW, AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR ALMOST FOUR MONTHS AND OVER 2,500 MILES THE ACTUAL MPG IS STILL MUCH LOWER THAN ADVERTISED. THE OVERALL MPG IS AROUND 17/MPG (WHICH IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE 25/MPG ADVERTISED BY HONDA, IN FACT IT IS AROUND 45% LESS THEN ADVERTISED), THE ACTUAL MPG FOR THE HIGHWAY IS LITTLE OVER 22 MPG (AGAIN NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE MPG ADVERTISED WHICH IS 28 MPG, IN FACT IT IS 30% LOWER) AND THE ACTUAL MPG IN THE CITY IS AROUND 15 MPG (AGAIN NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE 22 MPG ADVERTISED, IN FACT IT IS 40% LOWER THEN ADVERTISED). THIS IS A CLEAR CASE OF FALSE ADVERTISING FROM HONDA. WE WENT TO OURISMAN HONDA AND THEY DID SOME CHECKS, WHICH ALL CAME BACK NEGATIVE. THEY DROVE THE CAR ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY TO GET THE MILEAGE FOR THE HIGHWAY, WHICH WAS LITTLE OVER 22 MPG. WE DON'T DISPUTE THE FACT THAT THE MILEAGE ON THE HIGHWAY IS BETTER THEN IN THE CITY, BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE DO LIVE IN THE CITY AND THIS IS OUR MAIN PLACE FOR DRIVING OUR CAR. BUT AS YOU CAN SEE BY LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS, THE CAR IS UNDERPERFORMING IN MPGS THROUGH ALL THE LEVELS OF DRIVING (CITY, HIGHWAY AND OVERALL). THE DEALER ALSO MENTIONED THE 5000 MILES ?BREAK-IN PERIOD, AFTER WHICH WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THE REAL MPG. TO BEGIN WITH, NOBODY MENTIONED THAT BEFORE WE BOUGHT THE CAR. SECOND, IT IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE OFFICIAL HONDA BROCHURES, WHICH CAME WITH THE CAR. IF WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS BREAK IN PERIOD, WE WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT THE CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE.
