The passenger airbag light stays on after the car is started and in motion. Regardless if there is a passenger seated or not. The car was taken in to the dealership during the recalls on takata airbag replacement. The passenger airbag light was off and now the light been staying on. I am extremely concern if my family or someone else gets into an accident, the airbag won’t deploy or may randomly deploy on its own.

ONCE THEY EXITED THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT COULD NOT GET THE DOORS TO UNLOCK EVEN WITH THE KEY FOB. THE CONTACT HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO HELP UNLOCK THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA OF KIRKLAND (12420 NE 85TH ST, KIRKLAND, WA 98033) WHERE THEY REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR PER SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: 14-083. A YEAR AND A HALF LATER, THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONTACT PAID TO HAVE THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACED. When locking the door, there is a loud noise. I was told the lock actuator is bad and needs to be replaced (driver rear). I purchased this vehicle in October 2022 and the warranty is no longer valid. Prior to, the passenger front lock actuator had to be replaced. The vehicle is available to be inspected upon request

Vehicle door locks acting up off & on for several years. Sometimes not unlocking needing to insert key to unlock, other times passenger door not locking when using fob and doors locking & unlocking while driving. Now most recently cannot open drivers door from inside. It can be opened from the outside. This is very dangerous if you needed to get out of car quickly, not to mention the inconvenience of crawling over the center console to get out of passenger door. I am [XXX] and will never buy another Honda as I’ve read about the problems with this. Too bad because I really like my crv. Door locks began opening and closing on their own while I was driving. I have replaced battery twice since this began. The auto repair place and AAA were unable to locate a cause for the electrical problem. The car will not stay locked. I was robbed of my personal property while it was parked. It is not really safe to drive since I cannot secure myself in it.

Auto door locking system attempts to lock all four doors every time the vehicle drops below 10 miles per hour and then goes above 10 mph. All four doors can be manually locked and show they are locked when the motion auto lock system thinks one or more are not locked and attempts to lock after 10 miles per hour. This continues for every trip.

WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND MAKING A TURN IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA THE STEERING WHEEL GOT STIFF AND FELT AS IF THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED I WAS ABLE TO TURN BUT VERY SLOWLY AS IF THE CAR WERE IN NEUTRAL ALMOST FELT LIKE IDLING. I CHECKED MY STEERING FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS AT THE PROPER LEVEL SO I'M NOT TOO SURE WHAT IS GOING ON BUT I'VE BEEN READING UP ON THIS ISSUE AND FIND IT TO BE COMMON WITH THIS GENERATION OF HONDA CR-VS. I WILL BE TAKING MY VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC TO BE LOOKED AT IMMEDIATELY BUT FEEL THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO I HAVE NEVER FELT MORE UNSAFE DRIVING THAN WHEN THAT HAPPENED IT WAS A VERY SCARY FEELING AND I AM THANKFUL THAT THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC WAS NOT FAST PACED OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE VERY LIKELY BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT.

AFTER T 84,000 MILES OF NORMAL DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO LEAKS THAT CAUSED POWER STEERING FLUID TO SEEP INTO THE RACK'S BOOTS AND DETERIORATED THEM. THE COST OF THIS REPAIR WAS $1400.00. THIS IS A A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THE COST OF THIS REPAIR WAS $1400.00.

Understand my car is old but I also understand that there was a class action lawsuit I was not informed about regarding the door actuators the door locks on my vehicle I paid $300 plus to replace the front door actuator and now my back door driver side and back door passenger side door actuators are extremely loud and it is difficult to unlock the door if you're on the inside of the vehicle trying to get out it freezes the door locks that's very dangerous I know my car is old but Honda should still have to replace them considering they agreed to replace all four door actuators back in 2015 but I was not informed of that.

Several of the door locks on our 2008 CRV will automatically unlock after locking the car when parked making it an easy target for theft. And when the car is running and in Park, several of the door locks will not unlock making it extremely difficult to let someone into the car.

Hello, I have a recall for the corrosion on my Honda CRV 2008, American Honda already has everything on file from the dealer ship I took to get it inspected and is been a whole month and American Honda hasn’t reached out to me. I have been asking American Honda if I could get a loaner car or rental as the service manager at the dealership has said he cannot provide a rental until American Honda authorized since obviously some one has to pay for it. And I’m just reaching out if you guys could help me anyway to help me get this sorted out, dealership has already told me the car is un repairable at this point due to the bad corrosion and American Honda has acknowledged that and said someone from the median department or something like that was gonna reach out to me that was 2 weeks ago and I have reached out a week ago and they said someone would reach out and I have not received anything as I have told them, I really need a car since I recently had my baby and you know I need to come to work and go back home. Please if you guys can help me

This is a complaint in reference to a current recall for the rear rust and corrosion issues on Honda CRvs, Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-228. I brought my vehicle to Matt Burne Honda on January 7 2025 for this recall and they "inspected" and passed the vehicle, installed the brace, and said all was well as they handed me the keys. In early March I took the car in for its state inspection and it failed due to all of the rust/corrosion/frame rot on the rear of this vehicle. When I called Matt Burne to find out why they installed the brace on this vehicle with all that rust, and why they never even bothered to mention the rust to me, they said that for the recall to pass all they needed to do was remove the bolt for the trailing arm and that all the rust didn't matter, and whether or not it could pass a state inspection didn't matter. This, put me and my family at risk. The rust and corrosion is severe. My family and I have been driving in it thinking it was all okay since the recall was completed. Yet they never thought to mention it. Isn't this recall in reference to rust and corrosion on the rear frame? Yes, I understand it involves the trailing arm, but wasn't there a punch test and a frame inspection that was supposed to be a part of this? How is it that the frame can rot away and practically disintegrate and yet that doesn't matter? After a month of trying to reach Honda, they finally told me I needed to take it to a Honda dealer because the 2 inspection centers I had taken it to weren't good enough. I wound up taking to to Motorworld Honda for an "inspection" and all they did was look at the installed brace and say everything was good, even though that at this point they were now unable to put the car on the lift since that spot on the frame has rusted away. In March it was able to be put on the lift? What happened since? And how is this acceptable as far as this recall is concerned? They put my life and the lives of my family at risk as well as others.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) and the vehicle was repaired under the recall; however, the contact was informed that the dealer had observed a 3X8 inch hole located 2 inches away from where the support brace was installed. The contact stated that despite the hole, the dealer determined that the vehicle was safe to drive, and the vehicle passed inspection. The contact believed that the recall repair failed to adequately address the safety concerns of the recall, potentially leaving the vehicle with a rear trailing arm that could still detached in the future. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed regarding a possible buyback; however, the request was denied due to the age of the vehicle. The failure mileage was 211,600.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The dealer informed the contact that there was an extreme amount of rust to the frame of the vehicle. The bolts failed to release due to the extreme rust. The vehicle was not able to be placed on the lift due to frame rust. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 133,267. Parts distribution disconnect.

Two actuator for the doors were said to be replaced by the previous owner in 2015. However, all four of my actuators are not working. Sometimes, it unlocks by itself when driving and I have had issues at times when I am not able to unlock the door at all. This poses safety risk to not being able to get out at times from both inside and outside.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) and an unknown door latch recall; however, while driving after the vehicle was returned, the contact became that the doors were no longer closing securely, and the vehicle failed to respond immediately while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the dealer had stated in the recall repair work order that the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure) could not be completed on the vehicle due to severe frame corrosion and that the sub frame needed to be replaced; however, the dealer installed support braces on the vehicle and marked the recall as Complete. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the brake caliper had seized. The independent mechanic notified the contact that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 402,685.

This year, a 2008 Honda CRV encountered an issue wherein one of the bolts on the rear trailing arm, a crucial component of the vehicle's suspension system, became lodged and partially snapped off within the rear frame of the car. This occurrence had the potential to adversely affect the vehicle's stability and handling. Coinciding with, Honda issued a recall notice for select CRVs this year. The recall was prompted by concerns about the potential development of rust and corrosion within the rear frame of these vehicles. The recall's primary objective was to address potential structural complications, such as rust-related issues with bolts and the rear suspension, which had the potential to compromise the overall safety and integrity of the CRVs. Upon inspecting the affected 2008 Honda CRV, a Honda dealership concluded that the issue involving the lodged and snapped bolt in the rear trailing arm was not directly attributable to the rust and corrosion covered by the recall notice. Consequently, Honda clarified that they could not assume responsibility for this specific problem, and the scope of the recall did not extend to cover the situation of a snapped bolt within the rear frame. In response to the situation and to mitigate potential risks, the Honda dealership proactively implemented measures. They reinforced both sides of the rear trailing arm by securely attaching a sub-bracket to the vehicle's frame. This additional structural support was designed to ensure the proper attachment and functionality of the rear trailing arm. However, since Honda's assessment indicated that the issue of the lodged and snapped bolt was distinct from the rust and corrosion specified in the recall, the vehicle's servicing was only partially addressed, leaving it in an unsafe state. The dealership recommended a nearby body shop sponsored by Honda. This body shop conveyed that the issue should be raised with Honda, as they believed the problems were interconnected.

On 08/09/23 at 1108 hours, I called Langdale Honda in Valdosta, GA. I told them of the current recall on my vehicle. It was verified via VIN, and then I was discouraged from bringing in the vehicle. I was told that the recall applied to northern cars that suffered from salt and snow exposure, and that my vehicle should be OK. It clearly states in the recall notice that mud can also be a factor. I reminded the associate of that. I also reminded the associate of Federal Law. Thereafter, he said that I could bring the vehicle in if I desired; however, I was concerned because I bought my vehicle used. I don't know its history, and don't know from where it originally came. I did not make an appointment with Langdale due to mistrust.

I thought I needed new brakes put on because my brakes sounded like they were grinding and they were going to the floor so I had new brake pads out on but my Mechanic said the brake pads were fine he replaced them anyways. I went to have an oil change and a different mechanic said that I needed and alignment but my entire back end frame was rusted and corroded. He said if I got an alignment my back end would collapse because the suspension is bad. When I go to brake my brakes go to the floor so I'm guessing thats from the suspension being messed up. He said it's not safe to drive

Vehicle rear frame broke while driving and had towed to Brown Honda in Toledo Ohio to look at it. At the same time Honda recall 23V228 came out from the NHTSA where Honda acknowledged this rear frame issue and under that recall the dealer was required to either repair the vehicle or purchase it from the owner. Brown Honda verbally said the vehicle was non-repair able and they weren't going to do anything else because it was "too old." We called Honda corporate and they refused to do anything until Brown put the "unrepairable notice" in the system. We called Brown Honda again and contacted them a 3rd time via email and each time they have refused to do anything else or even respond, but have told us again it isn't repairable and too old. Brown then told Honda corporate that they did not even have the vehicle., so we took a picture of it sitting in the Brown lot with the dealership sign and sent it to Honda. Honda contacted Brown again then came back to us and told us they couldn't force Brown to do anything and at this point Brown was refusing to take it any further. Honda corporate then told us they were not going to do anything further either since Brown would not put the ticket in the system saying it was unrepairable, then told us they were going to close our case #[XXX] in Honda's system. Their final suggestion (Honda corporate) was to try towing it to a different dealer and see if they would do something. So at this point, Honda and their dealers are failing to abide by the recall notice and should be subject to fines. They are costing us more money by having us now try having it towed to other dealerships until I guess we find one that will follow the recall agreement. The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving 62 MPH, a popping noise was heard and the steering wheel became uncontrollable. The driver was able to pull to the shoulder and stop the vehicle and noticed the steering wheel was positioned at an angle and the vehicle could no longer be safely driven. The vehicle was later towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the front control arm had fractured due to severe corrosion. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 166,000.

Just bought this used and am already having transmission issues. Happy to have it available for an inspection. My safety, the safety of their drivers and that of my passengers is put at risk frequently. The engine shudders at certain speeds under40. In order to remedy that it is necessary for me to take my foot off the gas with no warning of brake lights. I haven’t taken it to a Honda dealer yet but after I bought this CRV a month ago I learned they are rank with transmission issues. There is no warning in any way, shape or form other than the sudden shuddering which can range from a gentle shudder to one that feels like the car is falling apart. I don’t know when this issue started but may be why it’s been sold via private sale several times.

I PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES FROM LES SCHWAB ON 11-29-17 (102T ROAD CONTROL NW3 ALL SEASONS BW TIRES). SEVEN MONTHS LATER, ON 6-20-18, ONE OF THE TIRES BLEW OUT. THE TIRE HAD BEEN INFLATED CORRECTLY AND WAS OTHERWISE IN GOOD CONDITION. THERE HADN'T BEEN ANY CASES OF IMPACT TO THE TIRE OR AN OVERLOADED CAR. I DIDN'T SUFFER ANY DAMAGE, BECAUSE I WAS VERY LUCKY TO NOT BE ON THE FREEWAY. LES SCHWAB REPLACED THE TIRE FOR FREE, AS IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. When attempting to lock the doors with either the key fob or from inside the vehicle, the back door locks stay open. The front passenger door also makes a loud buzzing noise but stays locked. This is an issue when the auto lock function kicks in after every stop sign or red traffic light. I don’t want to leave the car in public spaces for fear of someone entering my vehicle unbeknownst to me. The original vehicle owner had no recollection of any correspondence, by mail or otherwise, related to the 2007-2011 Honda C-RV recalls for this issue.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE LOCKS ON MY 2008 HONDA CRV. IT STARTED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR. IT INITIALLY WOULD NOT STAY LOCKED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED NO RECALLS. AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THEN ABOUT ANOTHER 6 MONTHS IT QUIT AGAIN. (WEATHER RELATED?). NOW THAT LOCK STAYS LOCKED ALL THE TIME. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO UNLOCK IT...NOT EVEN MANUALLY. ABOUT A YEAR LATER THE REAR PASSENGER LOCK WASN'T LOCKING CORRECTLY. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY COULDN'T HELP ME. NOW THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE LOCK DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT SOUNDS LIKE A MACHINE GUN GOING OFF EVERYTIME THE CAR HITS THE 10 MPH. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND ADVISED NO RECALLS. I WAS QUOTED $800.00 TO HAVE THEM REPAIRED. (LOCK ACTUATORS?) I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING ONLY TO MY CAR. BY THE LOCKS NOT WORKING IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MYSELF AND KIDS. I HAVE TEENAGE DAUGHTERS AND A GRANDDAUGHTER. IT THEY ENCOUNTER ANY DANGER AND ARE NOT ABLE TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THE 2008 CRV PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHEN OVER 40 MPH. THERE WERE 2 WHEEL ALIGNMENTS DONE RECENTLY, AND THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE VEHICLE DRIFTS TO THE RIGHT. THIS DRIFT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CROWN OF THE ROAD. IT DRIFTS TO THE RIGHT ON PERFECTLY FLAT ROADS. I THOUGHT THE WHEELS NEEDED TO BE ALIGNED, BUT AFTER THE FIRST WHEEL ALIGNMENT (AT THE HONDA DEALER IN TALLAHASSEE) THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND CONTINUED TO PERSIST AFTER SEVERAL MORE ATTEMPTS TO ALIGN THE WHEELS. THE DEALERSHIP CONSULTED WITH THE MANUFACTURER IN CALIFORNIA AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT WAS REPLACED. THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT BOTH IT AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT COULD NOT BE FIXED. THE DEALER CALLED IT "MEMORY STEER" AND SAID IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2008 CR-V. A LARGE BASKET-BALL SHAPED CIRCLE HOLE APPEARED IN THE REAR WINDOW. THE GLASS FROM THE HOLE EXPLODED OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. IMMEDIATELY 3/4 OF THE REMAINING WINDOW GLASS DROPPED FROM INSIDE THE REAR WINDOW FRAME ONTO THE VEHICLE FLOOR. HE CHECKED FOR OUTSIDE CAR GLASS DEBRIS, THEN DROVE THE CAR TO OUR CONDO LESS THAN A MILE AWAY. WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD IN COLD/SNOWY CONDITIONS. WINDSHIELD WIPERS REST BELOW THE HEATED AREA OF THE WINDSHIELD WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO BECOME FROZEN AND UNABLE TO CONTOUR TO THE WINDSHIELD. EDGES OF THE CAR ARE TALLER THAN THE WINDSHIELD WHICH TRAPS ICE ON THE SIDE EDGES AS WELL AND ALSO DAMAGES THE WIPER BLADES, PREVENTING THEM FROM WORKING. ISSUE HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE PURCHASING VEHICLE. DEALER UNABLE TO FIX PROBLEM. All 5 automatic door locks failed to open causing me to be locked inside the car. After many minutes and retrying the key fob I was able to exit via the front passenger door. Later that same day once returning home I was locked out of all 5 doors. The car was towed and the left front door and right rear door actuators were replaced. These had previously been recalled and replaced on extended warrenty in 2015. The failure of the locks this last week are acutally the Honda approved replacements. The problem was reproduced by the repairing garage. Odd sounds from the doors had been heard prior to the breakdown.

I WAS PULLING INTO PARKING SPACE IN GARAGE WITH MY 2008 HONDA CRV. PUT BRAKE ON AND HEARD LOUD REVVING SOUND OF ENGINE (LIKE WHEN A CAR PEELS OUT FROM A STOP LIGHT). THE BRAKE DID NOTHING AND THE CAR SURGED FORWARD WITH THE REVVING RIGHT INTO THE CONCRETE WALL OF THE GARAGE. IT HIT SO HARD IT MADE MY GLASSES FLY OFF MY FACE. IT BOUNCED OFF THE CONCRETE WALL ABOUT 3-4 FEET AND STOPPED. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE WHOLE TIME. AFTER THE CAR STOPPED, THERE WAS A REALLY BAD SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, BUT THE CAR IMPACTED A LITTLE TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER. FORTUNATELY, I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON. THE SHOULDER STRAP JAMMED FROM THE IMPACT AND COULD NOT BE LOOSENED. AFTER I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS REMAINED ON AND THE BAD SMELL INTENSIFIED. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED, I WAS TOLD IT "WAS NOT DRIVABLE" BY THE HONDA DEALER WHERE IT WAS TOWED. THE DEALER WOULDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE CAR OR GO SMELL THE ODOR AS "IT WAS NOT DRIVABLE AND NEEDED TO HAVE THE BODY WORK DONE FIRST." THE TIPS OF THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID DISPENSER FREEZES IN REALLY COLD TEMPERATURES AND DIDN'T UNFREEZE UNTIL THE TEMPERATURE GOT TO 44 DEGREES. SO WE DROVE OVER ONE HOUR IN THE SNOW WITH NO WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID AND COULDN'T SEE OUT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WITH ALL THE DIRTY SNOW AND MUD SMEARING ON THE WINDSHIELD. WE PUT FRESH WATER ON THE WINDSHIELD BUT THAT KEPT IT CLEAN FOR ABOUT ONE MILE ONLY. THIS WAS DRIVING ON HWY. 80 IN THE SIERRA'S. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS.

APPROX 6 MONTHS AGO A CRACK STARTED IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT STARTED FROM THE TOP RUBBER GASKET & WAS IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE WINDOW VISOR HOLDER. THERE WERE NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF DAMAGE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. WE HAD THE WINDOW REPLACED BY SAFELIGHT WINDOW REPAIR COMPANY. NOW WE HAVE A CRACK STARTING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WINDSHIELD & RUNNING DOWN FROM THE TOP RUBBER GASKET & ALSO IN DIRECT ALIGNMENT WITH THE VISOR HOLDER. A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE MUST BE APPLIED TO SEAT THE VISOR BACK INTO THE HOLDER. BOTH CRACKS HAPPENED DURING HIGHWAY TRAVEL WITH NO OBVIOUS SIGNS OF DAMAGE BY A ROCK, ETC. BOTH TIMES THE VISORS HAD BEEN TURNED TO THE SIDE WINDOW TO BLOCK THE SUN.

MY STORY BEGINS (2/14/09) WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS TAKING OFF THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. DURING REMOVAL, USING A MANUAL LUG WRENCH, HE SNAPPED OFF TWO WHEEL STUDS. THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, (2/16/09), WE TOOK THE CRV TO THE ORWIGSBURG SERVICE CENTER, OUR LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, TO HAVE A STATE INSPECTION PERFORMED AND REPLACE THE BROKEN WHEEL STUDS. WHILE AT THIS SHOP, OUR MECHANIC PULLED ALL FOUR WHEELS, AND INFORMED US THAT ALL THE WHEELS STUDS, 20 IN TOTAL, WERE BENT OUTWARD, IN A CIRCUMFERENTIAL PATTERN. WE WERE THEN ADVISED TO CONTACT AMERICAN HONDA, AS THIS WAS CERTAINLY DUE TO SOME TYPE OF PRODUCT DEFECT. DUE TO THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE SITUATION WE HAD, AT OUR EXPENSE, THE CRV TOWED TO LEHIGH VALLEY HONDA FOR INSPECTION, AND WE ASSUMED, A WARRANTY REPAIR. IMAGINE OUR SURPRISE, WHEN LEHIGH VALLEY HONDAS' SERVICE ADVISOR INSINUATED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THAT WE HAD SOMEHOW THROUGH OUR OWN CARELESSNESS, DAMAGED THIS VEHICLE. HE THEN DETERMINED THAT SINCE HE HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH DAMAGE, IT MUST HAVE BEEN OUR MISUSE OF THE CRV THAT CAUSED THE DAMAGE AND THUS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE HONDA WARRANTY. I SHOULD POINT OUT AT THIS POINT, THAT THE INSPECTION WAS THOROUGH ENOUGH TO OBSERVE THAT THERE WERE THREE BROKEN STUDS, & FIFTEEN DAMAGED ONES. REFER TO ATTACHED REPORT. THE CUSHION MATERIAL IN THE FRONT SEATS IS DISINTEGRATING. EACH WEEK THERE IS MORE AND MORE FOAM DUST UNDER EACH OF THE FRONT SEATS ON THE DOOR SIDE. I AM THE ONLY DRIVER OF THE CAR AND AT 137 LBS I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE SEAT WAS SO POORLY CONSTRUCTED THAT THE FOAM, OR WHATEVER THE SEAT IS MADE OF, IS DISINTEGRATING ON A WEEKLY BASIS. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS PROBLEM IS COMPROMISING THE SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG. I AM UNSURE OF THE EXACT START DATE BECAUSE IN THE BEGINNING I BELIEVED THE DUST TO BE JUST THAT OR POSSIBLE DIRT/SAND FROM SHOES GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAR. THE HEADREST PUSHES FORWARD MUCH TOO FAR AND IS CAUSING PAIN AND TENSION ON MY WIFE'S NECK AND BACK. The contact’s son owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while his son was driving 45 MPH, the vehicle aggressively veered over to the right side of the road. The driver inspected the vehicle and noticed that the rear axle had detached from the frame. The driver was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who was unable to fix the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure); because parts were not available, and there were additional damages that needed to be repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was working with the dealer to have the vehicle inspected. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.

2008 CR-V SUBFRAME/REAR CONTROL ARM RUSTED SO SEVERELY CAME APART WHILE DRIVING. VERY FORTUNATE THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT, THIS CAUSED SUDDEN LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. HAD TO BE TOWED AND IS NOW INOPERABLE AND UNABLE TO BE REPAIRED. THERE IS A RECALL IN CANADA TO ADDRESS THIS CONDITION, WHY NOT THE UNITED STATES? DRIVER WAS PARKED/IDLING IN PARKING LOT WHEN LOUD EXPLOSION HAPPENED. DRIVER THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD REAR ENDED HER. TWO BYSTANDERS WERE CONCERNED AND CAME OVER TO CHECK ON DRIVER. THEY SAID NO ONE HAD HIT HER. THEY FOUND A FILTER, GASKET AND A PIECE OF INSULATION UNDER THE CAR. UPON INSPECTION DRIVER SAW THAT THE FRONT BUMPER HAD PARTIALLY BLOWN OUT FROM THE CAR, IT WAS DETACHED UNDER THE HOOD, UNDER THE GRILL AND AROUND THE WHEEL WELL. ALSO A LARGE CHUNK OF WHEEL WELL IS MISSING. CAR WAS TOWED TO DRIVER'S MECHANIC. MECHANIC DETERMINED THE A/C COMPRESSOR EXPLODED, SUBSEQUENTLY BLOWING SHRAPNEL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, RUINING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AS WELL AS CAUSING SAID BODY DAMAGE. MECHANIC ALSO DETERMINED THAT THE FILTER, GASKET AND SOCK HAD BLOWN OUT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE A/C COMPRESSOR, THE BLAST FROM THE EXPLOSION WAS THE APPARENT CAUSE OF THE BODY DAMAGE. A COMPLETE REPORT FROM A BODY SHOP WILL BE OBTAINED TODAY. DRIVER WAS QUITE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MASSIVE DAMAGE DONE AND HOW EASILY SOMEONE NEAR THE CAR AT THE TIME COULD HAVE BEEN HURT. DRIVER WAS ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT HER RESPONSE WOULD HAVE BEEN IF SHE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT THE TIME OF EXPLOSION. DRIVER IS A GRANDMA, SHE MEETS UP WITH HER DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER IN VERY SIMILAR SITUATIONS ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE 7 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN IN THE BLAST RADIUS. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH HONDA TO WHICH THEY QUICKLY DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FILED AGAINST HONDA AND WON IN 2012 REGARDING EXPLODING A/C COMPRESSORS IN 2008 CRVS. HOWEVER HONDA WAS ABSOLVED OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAID VEHICLES AFTER 7 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. THE CRV IN QUESTION HAS 120,000 MILES.

AFTER LEAVING THE NURSING HOME I PROCEEDED ON THE RETURN TRIP TO YONKERS. I WAS NORTHBOUND ON THE SPRAIN PARKWAY AND EXITED AT TUCKAHOE ROAD. THERE IS A FULL STOP SIGN AT THE INTERSECTION. THIS IS MY THIRD COMPLAINT TO YOUR AGENCY. MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT NUMBERS: 10561753, 10560625, AND 10548352. MY CR-V HAS AN UNWANTED ACCELERATION PROBLEM. AS I AM APPLYING THE BRAKES TO STOP, THE ENGINE SPEED INCREASES AND REQUIRES VERY HARD BRAKING AND SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE HONDA DEALER AND IT WAS EXAMINED BY A FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE WHO REPORTED THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE "CUPPING" ON THE REAR TIRES OF MY NEW 2008 HONDA CR-V AWD. THE TIRES BEGAN TO MAKE A VERY LOUD NOISE AND THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A SLIGHT BOUNCING RIDE AT ABOUT 22,000 MILES AND BOTH ISSUES BECAME INTOLERABLE AT ABOUT 26,000 MILES, AND YOU COULD FEEL THE EXTREME CUPPING OF THE TIRES WHEN RUBBING YOUR HAND OVER THE TREAD. I HAD THE DEALER ROTATE THE TIRES WITH EVERY SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE, AND THE CUPPING PROBLEM STILL CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE CAME WITH THE CONTI 4 X 4 TIRES, AND THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE WELL BEFORE A REASONABLE LIFE EXPECTANCY. THE HONDA DEALER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANY WARRANTY ASSISTANCE OR DISCOUNT, STATING THAT THEY WOULD DO A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT ON THE VEHICLE - AT MY EXPENSE - AND SELL ME 4 NEW TIRES. THERE ARE NUMEROUS FORUMS ON THE INTERNET WHERE PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING AND ALLEGING THAT THE AWD VEHICLES (FWD'S ARE OK) ARE LEAVING THE FACTORY WITH IMPROPER ALIGNMENT OF THE REAR CAMBER AND IT IS CAUSING THE PREMATURE WEAR OF THE FACTORY TIRES. THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A NATIONAL TIRE SHOP AND PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES AND HAD THEM PERFORM A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT ON THE VEHICLE....THE COMPUTER READ-OUT THAT THEY PROVIDED ME SHOWED THAT THE REAR TIRES WERE ALIGNED IN EXTREME OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. THE EMPLOYEES AT THE TIRE SHOP ALLEGED THAT THEY WERE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY SEE LOTS OF 2007 AND 2008 HONDA CRV'S IN THEIR SHOP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM FOR WHICH HONDA DOESN'T WANT TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. TIRE CUPPING IS NOT ONLY A NUISANCE BECAUSE OF THE RUMBLING NOISE THAT GETS LOUDER AT FREEWAY SPEEDS - IT IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE FOR BRAKING AND TRACTION BECAUSE OF HOW IT AFFECTS THE AMOUNT OF TREAD SURFACE CONTACT WITH THE ROADWAY. The contact was eventually able to restart the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as designed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 180,290.

Hello Sir/Madam, I own 2008 HONDA CR V. Yesterday when I tried to start my car, I head loud abnormal loud noise and the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT LIT ON the dash board. Since the noise was very abnormal and very loud, I decided not to drive the car. Next, I searched on internet to see if other Honda owners have same issue. THE OUTER RACE OF THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING MAY BE BROKEN DURING CERTAIN DRIVING STYLES. A BROKEN OUTER RACE MAY CAUSE ABNORMAL NOISE, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT TO TURN ON, AND ALLOW CONTACT BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION IDLE GEAR AND AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR HOUSING WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION. Next I called American Honda corporation and explained my issue. I OWN A 2008 HONDA CRV. RECENTLY I CONTACTED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE TO REPORT A SAFETY CONCERN I HAVE WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. Hello I’m [XXX] and own a 2008 Honda CRV that runs fine. VIN [XXX] , but previous owner never went to the recall and I bought the car in 2014 and recently, during a brake job, I first became aware of the problem when my mechanic alerted me to the recall situation and the rusting out that was putting drivers in a very dangerous situation. My car failed the recall because of the rust causing the degradation of the rear suspension trailing arm, and now I'm left with a car not fit to drive? and I would be liable for whatever happens but I was never offered a solution to buy the car back something to help and I cannot be without one to get to Dr’s or buy food live rural I have no choice living alone at [XXX] need a car. So a question, why am I the problem? when, in the first place, the car was dangerous from the manufacturer to the rusting out situation which was actually life threatening, lose steering, the wheel could collapse or the frame itself, and again, never offered any help at all some compensation, nothing? A/C compressor in 2007-2011 Honda CR-V has a known defect in the A/C compressor clutch. The clutch component of the compressor includes the pulley which turns the compressor motor. When the clutch fails, the compressor motor seizes up and stops the pulley from turning. The pulley on the compressor is driven by one serpentine belt on a tensioner which turns the alternator, the power steering motor, the crankshaft, the water pump, and the A/C compressor. When the A/C compressor seizes up, the belt will snap in two every time because the A/C pulley will not turn. The car will not be operable unless the A/C compressor is replaced. To replace the A/C compressor, the refrigerant must be vacuumed out, the condenser and desiccant replaced, the compressor replaced, the system recharged, and a new belt put on. This costs about $2500 at Honda or at another shop around $1700. Honda refused to fix the clutch when I took my car in after discovering the A/C was not working. I have replaced the compressor in this vehicle twice already, and now it needs a third replacement. It is a safety issue because the belt will break while driving causing power steering to go out, possibly causing a crash, the battery will not charge, leaving you stranded, the water pump will not function causing your engine to overheat, and possibly causing a blown head gasket or worse. This situation has occurred twice already but I’m reporting the latest one.

The contact owns a 2008 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The contact self-inspected the vehicle and noticed that the power steering fluid level was low. The contact filled the power steering fluid reservoir; however, two days later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the passenger’s side front ball joints were replaced, the power steering kit was installed, and the drive belt was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,500.

Honda body shop switched and stripped components/ parts of my vehicle when State Farm Adjustor wrote the repair assessment like it was in a high speed head on collision when it was actually a left side fender bender. That’s fraud… but nonetheless, State Farm agreed to fix the car. It’s a Honda CR/V that has had the engine replaced now but it’s having drivetrain issues. It rattles and violently vibrates upon takeoff (Automatic transmission) and when going uphill. It has electrical problems due to rodent chewing soy based electrical wires. I’ve replaced myself many components such as axle CV, electrical, fans, air conditioner, starters (3 in past two years) and basically had to rebuild the entire front end because the Honda body shop was using my car for a parts car. Curry Honda in Chamblee GA. Honda has refused to acknowledge any issues. 2008 Honda CR-V has drivetrain issues probably related to the software which Honda charges $150-200 every time just to clear a code. They don’t work with 3rd party parts providers and like Apple, are monopolizing their car company making it unsafe to take your car anywhere but to a Honda dealer for things as simple as an oil change. They want you to get your battery and fluids there, refusing to share specs with anyone else. This should be illegal as Apple recently has had lawsuits for trying to monopolize their screen replacement and repairs. Trying to get customers to only go to Apple for repair, rendering your phone useless unless you pay Apple again for repairs. Honda company is not customer focused, the dealers are out to make money off every single thing the car needs and their system is designed for no DIYers to fix much at all.

This vehicle had a wheel separation while traveling at low speed. The right rear wheel separated from the car. The cause is excessive rust to the trailing arm and specifically to the subframe to which the trailing arm is attached. The car is available for inspection. I also have photographs that show the problem. The safety issue is clear. After separation the car cannot be controlled if in motion. This particular vehicle has not been inspected. The wheel separation was reported by me to Honda in North America, to "Chris" in "client relations." A case number was issued for my complaint, #00499145. An insurance claim was made, but the insurer denied the claim. My research shows that this model CRV has been recalled in Canada for this precise problem. In Canada, Honda states that this model CRV has "excessive" rust, leading to failure. Further, that the problem is not readily apparent on inspection, and in fact this car is inspected annually as part of North Carolina licensure, and no inspection ever revealed the excessive rust threat. Here is the Honda press release: " January 23, 2019 Honda has voluntarily recalled approximately 83,953 2007-2011 CR-V vehicles in Canada to address potential excessive corrosion to the rear frame stiffener(s). On affected vehicles, one or both rear frame stiffener(s) may become excessively corroded over time. Such excessive corrosion may be more prevalent where a vehicle is regularly operated in regions where road de-icing salt is frequently used during the winter season. Although a certain amount of corrosion is expected to occur from everyday operation of the vehicle, excessive corrosion to the rear frame may result in frame stiffener perforation and, in extreme cases, cause the rear-trailing arm to separate from the vehicle’s frame structure. A separated rear-trailing arm may cause the vehicle to be difficult to control, increasing the risk of a crash."

ON JUNE 23, 2017, AT ABOUT 8:10 A.M., I TURNED IN TO A DRY CLEANERS STORE AT 5702 EVERHARD ROAD, CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. AS I WAS SLOWLY TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND APPLYING MY BRAKES, MY 2008 HONDA DR-V ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN, AT A SPEED SO FAST I COULD NOT STOP IT, EVEN THOUGH I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD. THE CR-V TRAVELED ABOUT 20-25 FEET AND HIT A PILLAR OF THE BUILDING HEAD ON. THE CR-V HIT THE PILLAR WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT REBOUNDED BACK APPROXIMATELY 5 FEET FROM THE POINT OF IMPACT. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS CRUSHED IN AND THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG INFLATED. THE SUDDEN, UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION OF THE CR-V ON IT'S OWN CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKES THE ENTIRE TIME AND THE CR-V WOULD NOT STOP.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR AND WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE DOOR LOCKS THAT FAILED ON THE VEHICLE WERE THE PASSENGER AND REAR DOOR LOCKS, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER GAVE THE CONTACT A BILL OF $500 TO ORDER THE PARTS, NOT INCLUDING LABOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. TAKATA RECALL - I FIRST RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM HONDA REGARDING THE AIRBAG RECALL FORM 2008 CRV LAST WINTER. THE LETTER SAID PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SUMMER, AND THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME THEN AS TO REPLACING THE AIRBAGS. I BEGAN CALLING TWO LOCAL DEALERS WHO SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS, BUT WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY DO. MEANWHILE, I HAVE TO KEEP DRIVING THE "UNSAFE" VEHICLE. I CONTINUE TO CALL THEM, THEY DO HAVE MY INFORMATION ON FILE, AND I MAKE THEM VERIFY THAT BY GIVING ME THE VIN NUMBER EACH TIME I CALL SO I KNOW I AM IN THE QUEUE. MEANWHILE, TODAY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA SAYING IT IS IMPORTANT THAT I RESPOND. DO I STILL OWN THE VEHICLE? THEY HAVE MY VIN NUMBER. I WOULD HOPE THAT WHEN THE DEALER RECORDS IT IN THE WAITING LIST, THE DATA WOULD BE UPLOADED TO HONDA'S DATABASE. APPARENTLY NOT, THE NUMBER IS ON THE LETTER. MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS THAT I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT THEY ARE TELLING ME IS VERY UNSAFE FOR ME OR A PASSENGER, YET THEY EXPECT ME TO CONTINUE USING THIS VEHICLE UNTIL THEY DECIDE TO FIX IT.. I WOULD THINK THEY HAVE HUGE LIABILITY. IN ADDITION, A FRIEND HAD THE AIRBAGS REPLIED IN HER CIVIC LAST WINTER AT THE SAME DEALER, DIAMOND VALLEY HONDA IN HEMET, CALIFORNIA. WHAT IS THIS? VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, BRAKES STARTED TO VIBRATE & UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES IS IS A FAULTY ABS MODULE. THIS WAS AFTER NEW BRAKES HAD BEEN INSTALLED, NEW ROTORS, PAID TO HAVE THE BRAKE SYSTEM BLED TWICE (ABOUT $700). TO INSTALL A NEW ABS MODULE, THE COST IS $2,100 JUST FOR THE PART FROM HONDA. THE CAR IS NOW DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITHOUT THE PART. HONDA DEALERSHIP SERVICE SHOP FOREMAN INFORMED ME THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THESE CARS. IN ADDITION, I RECEIVED A LETTER THAT THERE IS A TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL FOR THIS CAR IN MARCH, NOW IT IS APRIL AND THOSE NEW PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED BY THE DEALER YET. I HAVE A CAR SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE NOW 1) IT NEEDS A $2100 PART, WHICH THE SERVICE FOREMAN TELLS ME IS NOT GUARANTEED TO LAST BECAUSE THEY ARE FAULTY; AND 2) THERE IS AN AIRBAG PART THAT IS NOT AVAILABLE AT ANY DEALERSHIP THAT I HAVE CHECKED; AND 3) THE FACTORY ALARM WILL NOT SET, I HAVE HAD IT CHECKED BY TWO HONDA DEALERSHIPS AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. WHILE DRIVING FROM MY HOME I GOT TO A TOLL BOOTH AND AFTER PAYING THE TOLL PLACED MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR SIMPLY REVVED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL WITH RPMS VARYING INDISCRIMINATELY. SUDDENLY THE CAR JERKED FORWARD WITH A LOUD BANG AND MOVED NORMALLY I PULLED TO THE SHOULDER AND CHECKED FLUIDS AND FOR SIGNS OF ANY PROBLEMS. WE RECEIVED NO DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS AFFECTED HONDA ACCORDS IN THE PAST BECAUSE HONDA HAS ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN ON INSTALLING A SPECIAL FILTER FOR HONDA ACCORDS TO PREVENT THE SPIDERS FROM ENTERING. HOWEVER, NO SUCH BULLETIN OR PART EXISTS FOR THE HONDA CR-V. AS SUCH, AFTER PAYING NEARLY $100 AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE AND REMOVE THE SPIDERS, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THIS CAN'T HAPPEN AGAIN BECAUSE THEY DID NOT ADD A FILTER TO PREVENT SPIDER RE-ENTRY. AT THE MINIMUM, THESE SPIDERS WITH THEIR RESULTANT WEBS CAN SEVERELY LIMIT GAS MILEAGE. AT THE WORST, A FIRE OR ENGINE FAILURE CAN RESULT. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE COLLISION ALL FOUR WHEELS CONTINUED SPINNING AND DUG SMALL DEPRESSIONS IN THE DIRT UNTIL THE ENGINE STOPPED. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE AFTER BACKING INTO THE TREE. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE CAR SLID OFF THE ROAD IN A SNOW STORM. WHEN THE CAR HIT THE DITCH I PUSHED ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR KEPT MOVING. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO MOVE ABOUT 50 FEET BEFORE STRIKING A TREE. IT NEVER SLOWED DOWN, NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD). IT APPEARED TO ME THAT THE AWD TOOK OVER AND CONTINUED TO TRY TO GET THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL FROM THE SLIDE ON THE ICE. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 20 TO 25 MPH AT THE TIME WHEN I STARTED TO SLIDE ON ICE. THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEELS WENT INTO THE DITCH LINE, WHICH WAS ABOUT 12 INCHES DEEP. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WHEELS HIT THE DITCH THINKING IT WOULD SLOW THE VEHICLE SINCE THE WHEELS WERE NO LONGER ON THE ICY ROAD. AS I SAID EARLIER, AT THAT POINT I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN.
