There was no incident involved. The airbags on passenger side are not working, according to alert on dash. I inherited this car from my deceased husband who purchased the car in Paramus, NJ. I thought this problem was fixed by the dealer at some point, but evidently was not. The car is now registered in NC, where I live. Thank you for any help you can give me to correct this problem.

Air bag warning light had randomly come on/off 3-4 × for only a few hours since last airbag recall in 2018. Was so random and brief never gave it much thought. But it came on early July 2022 and stayed on. Took it in to Honda dealer Thurs July 14 for diagnostic check. Was told there was a defect in the passenger side/seat airbag and this was not a recall and would cost approx $900 to replace. Part on back order. Honda service rep stated that when the warning light is on none of the airbags are functional. I Did not order part on the 14th d/t considered buying another car which I quickly decided against. After picking up my car after hours on the 14th I notice the warning light is no longer on. After playing phone tag w/ dealer on Fri and Mon July 15,18 I drive to the dealership on 7-19 to order the part and to get answers on the warning light to no avail. I then call corporate Honda to make a claim asking to investigate this non wear and tear airbag defect. And after 2-3 weeks was told it is not a covered item. The rep also said that if the warning light was reset on the 14th it would come back on as soon as it detects the defect. Still Noone can determine whether or not I have any airbag protection. So I reach out here to request a safety investigation on this seemingly random NON WEAR / TEAR airbag defect. I feel there is a trend as there have already been 2 airbag recalls on my car. I feel this is a HUGE safety issue. Esp since I may or may not have full airbag protection on all the other airbags. The Honda dealer I originally took my car to has not returned any of my 3 calls I have made. (7-21,27,8-4) so I have made another appointment Aug 25 at another Honda dealer to run another diagnostic test to see if an airbag defect is detected; to decipher the light situation if I have airbag coverage or did the warning light bulb burn out? Please consider this a safety defect issue and assist me to get Honda to cover the cost.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V061000 (Air Bags). The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the dealer could not service the recall stating that the SRS unit seat belt buckle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,630.

SUDDEN ACCELERATION, while foot on the brake. This caused us to have an accident hitting cemented poles in front of a store. Our CRV was badly smashed in the front, making it undriveable. There was three of in the vehicle getting jolted and jerked. I believe this problem needs to be looked into, before someone else is hurt.

Sudden and unexpected engine failure due to (also) sudden oil over-consumption (beginning only weeks prior), documented by Honda in Bulletin 12-089. Total engine failure resulted. Trauma surgeon almost killed in accident (only saved because he knows how to handle a dead engine mid-traffic). Honda has noted that the Bulletin covered only up to 125K miles or 8 years. We were at 114K miles, but Honda has refused to further investigate--despite this sudden and catastrophic failure--because the car is greater than 8 years old. It is my husband's professional opinion that the car/engine be recalled, and that the Bulletin should in fact be a recall.

MY CRV was at 127,829 miles I took it in to the dealership and told the service advisor the CRV was making a clicking sound CRV was slow to accelerate on entrance to a highway the engine light would come on at a stop light momentarily the CRV dashboard read 70 percent used oil. The dealership said the CRV was down 2 quarts of oil and did an oil change. The last oil change was done at 125,474 miles the CRV was not making any noise after that oil change. The car is definitely burning oil because it had only been 2355 miles since the last oil change was done.

THE WARRANTY EXTENSION THAT WAS EXTENDED FOR "STICKING PISTON RINGS RESULTING IN HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION" WAS NOT A PROBLEM YET DURING THE 125,000 MILE MARK. A FEW MONTHS LATER OUR 2010 HONDA CRV STARTED NEEDING MUCH MORE OIL. EVER SINCE WE'VE NEEDED TO ADD OIL AT EVERY FUEL TANK FILL UP. PLEASE PUSH HONDA TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO TAKE CARE OF ITS CUSTOMERS. OUR CRV NOW HAS JUST OVER 180,000 MILES. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME WITH THIS.

BOUGHT FROM HONDA DEALER AND IT BURNS 1 QUART OF OIL PER 1000 MILES. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUES SERVICE BULLETIN 12-089. I HAVE DONE AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WITH THEM AND THEY AGREE THAT IS THE PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT CORRECT. I FEEL THEY MISLEAD ME DURING THE PURCHASE AND THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS ISSUES WITH THE CRV OIL CONSUMPTION. NOW THEY WANT ME TO PAY $3000 TO TO CORRECT THE KNOW ISSUE. HONDA USA REFUSES TO CORRECT ALSO. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL.

The driver’s door lock will not lock or cycles up and down when trying to unlock the door. This is a 2010 Honda CR-V. There is a recall on the same part for the 2007 to 2009 Honda CR-V (Honda Service Bulletin 14-083). The recall needs to be extended to the 2010 Honda CR-V vehicle.

The rear passenger-side lower control arm mounting point on my 2010 Honda CR-V has rotted out due to severe corrosion. This has caused a loud clicking noise when driving over uneven surfaces and has compromised the structural integrity of the suspension system. The problem was confirmed by an independent mechanic, who stated that the control arm is no longer properly secured due to rust damage at the mounting point. The vehicle was also inspected by a Honda dealership, which noted frame perforation in and beyond the recall area related to NHTSA Recall No. 23V-228. Despite this, American Honda has refused to address the issue, stating that the corrosion does not fall within the defined recall area. This failure presents a significant safety risk, as the suspension could potentially detach while driving. The issue first became noticeable in mid-March 2025 when the clicking noise started and has persisted since. There were no prior warning lights or error messages. The corrosion is visible and the affected components are available for inspection upon request. The condition has been documented via dealer and mechanic reports, photographs, and video.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the stabili-trak warning light illuminated and turned off. The contact stated that there was an abnormal grinding and abnormal rubbing sound coming from the rear of the vehicle while making a left turn. The contact stated that the rear end was swaying to the left and right while attempting to manually correct the vehicle by turning the steering wheel. The contact stopped the vehicle and became aware that the rear passenger’s side tire was leaning at an angle into the wheel well. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear suspension had separated from the subframe due to extensive corrosion of the subframe and supports. The vehicle deemed unsafe to be driven by the mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The contact stated that the recall repair had been completed in 2023 by a dealer. The contact was referred back to the dealer by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.

The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V661000 (Air Bags), and the dealer informed the contact about NHTSA Campaign Number 23V228000 (Structure). The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had failed an inspection and was unsafe to drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The contact stated that a recall notification was mailed and might have been lost in transition, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20,005.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while having the vehicle repaired for a non-related issue, it was discovered that there was a failure with the rear trailing arm. The contact stated that the bolts attached to the support brackets for the trailing arm had created a hole in the frame of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer where it was determined there was excessive corrosion to the rear trailing arm. The dealer replaced the support bracket and replaced the bolts. The contact stated that the hole in the frame had been enlarged following the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 189,168.

The door locks keep locking and unlocking at low speed or when I come to a stop

My CRV's door lock has been broken on and off for years now. I assumed it was a problem with the battery in the key or the key itself. I really became a problem a few months ago when the door would not open even with the key inserted into the lock. I would have to use the automatic lock and unlock buttons several times and then insert and turn the key before it would open. I did not know if or when the lock would fail permanently and I would be locked out of my car. This is a safety issue because I could have been stranded outside alone, or worse, stranded on the road with my infant. I understand that Honda settled a class action lawsuit for this known problem. (Kevin Davitt, et al. v. America Honda Motor Co., Inc., et al., Case No. XXX, in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.) I never received notice that there was a recall for this door actuator problem or that I was eligible to be a part of the class action. I contacted Honda and they insisted that I get a diagnostic though their dealership. They said I might be eligible for some sort of "good will" refund. I paid for the diagnostic and the repair, which was over $400. The service center at the dealer even said it was a known problem and that I should get something. Honda called me to deny the claim because they said I was out of warranty. They knew I was out of warranty when I contacted them in the first place. I would have gone to a local repair shop if I had known that they were using this as a ruse to get repair costs from me. The problem is that they knew that people were getting locked out of their cars and they didn't tell anyone. They knew that I was potentially part of the class of people who could have gotten relief but they didn't contact me. I don't think that they should leave people stranded out on the road or struggling with their door locks in this day and age when people get robbed or attacked a shopping centers and gas stations. Received the notice about the safety recall in May, made an appointment with Honda for June 14th. On June 6th, they cancelled my appointment because the parts for this recall are on backorder. They told me they'd call me when the parts are available but no one has called me back.

I drove my car to Honda City Chicago on June 24 for the safety recall problem. But Honda city Chicago failed to remedy the safety recall problem and they said they couldn't fix it. And they held my car in the repair shop and wouldn't allow me to take my car away. They told me to contact Honda company directly. On June 26 Monday, I called Honda. The staff said she would transfer my case to case manager and would get back to me in three days. However, since then, I called Honda company almost everyday but there was always nobody answering my phone call. My car has stayed in Honda City Chicago for two weeks now and I couldn't see any progress they are making for my car!

2010 HONDA CR-V- Consumer has letter addressed to Honda Automobile Division in Trenton, NJ. Consumer received recall notice and too the vehicle in for repair. Consumer was told at the appointment the part was not available and would need to be ordered. Kelly Hinda called the consumer to make ant appointment for a designated day, that consumer could not make, because of an appointment with doctor the doctor the same day. Consumer was not given an option if a alternate date for repair. Consumer called the customer service line and a complaint was filed. Consumer feels Honda should provide a loaner while the proper bracket is located for the CRV.

I purchased my CRV from Roseville Honda about 5 years ago and recently 3 of my 5 lock actuators have gone out in the car making the doors unable to open. My vehicle is able to be inspected and I drive it daily. Upon research it was known when they had sold me my car that the actuators in these cars needed to be replaced and failed to do so or to tell me. Mine and my child's safety is at risk with the weather as hot as it is if we get locked in a hot car or out of the car with nowhere to go on these hot days it could be dangerous and even deadly. I have not had the vehicle inspected by the dealer but by my father who is a mechanic. Prior warnings would be my doors automatically locking while driving repeatedly since I bought the car. Case ID: 2:13-cv-00381 this is the case of the prior lawsuit filed by other Honda owners with the same issue so this was known before Roseville Honda sold me my car. I have contacted them about this as well as the 800# and have been told I need to pay $190 for a diagnostic and my car is out of warranty so they cannot help me.

Ref: NHTSA Recall Number: 23V-228 Per advice from Honda, I contacted the dealer for recall disposition. They informed me that if the vehicle fails inspection and cannot be repaired, Honda will not return the vehicle and offer a cash compensation instead. This is unfair because: 1. Such impounding of vehicle is not mentioned in their notice (attached with this form). The words used are "may offer to repurchase the vehicle from you" 2. Not returning the vehicle and unilaterally offering a cash compensation is unethical business practice. I sincerely request NHTSA to take up the issue with Honda and ensure that a full repair be done even if the inspection fails. It might cost them more but they must do it. In case the vehicle cannot be repaired, it must be declared as totaled and an independent insurance adjuster must determine the cash compensation value and not Honda.

The contact’s son owns a 2010 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard an abnormal sound under the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle then stalled. Additionally, the contact stated that while attempting to accelerate above 60 MPH, he depressed the accelerator pedal however, the RPM’s increased and the engine revved but the vehicle failed to respond. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I WAS DRIVING ON ABRIDGE AND CAR WENT OUT OF GEAR AND WOULD NOT PULL. THEN IT GOES BACK IN GEAR. IT DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I GOT HOME SOME 24 MILES AWAY SO I TOOK CAR TO TRANSMISSION SHOP AND FOUND OUT A SOMETHING HAD BROKEN OFF THE 5TH GEAR AREA HAD TO GET IT FIXED. JUST GOT OUT OF SHOP AND PAID $2838.36. SO MY QUESTION IS IS THERE A RECALL IF SO HOW DO I GET REIMBURSED?

RACK AND PINION STEERING STARTED LEAKING POWER STEERING FLUID INTO THE BELLOW THAT COVERS THE INNER TIE ROD ENDS. THIS CAR DOES NOT EVEN HAVE 50,000 MILES ON IT. CERTAINLY THE STEERING SYSTEM SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN THIS.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that on numerous occasions while driving at various speeds, she heard an abnormal sound located in the front passenger’s and rear driver’s side doors. The contact stated that while operating the remote lock/unlock feature for the doors, the trunk unlocked. The contact stated that she had to manually unlock/lock the front passenger’s and rear driver’s side doors. The contact was concerned for her safety in the event of an emergency. Additionally, the contact stated that the day she purchased the vehicle, she informed the dealer that the door locks were not functioning properly. The dealer inspected the door locks but could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000. The contact stated that the trunk as well as locks will not open while using the key and that while driving daily the locks continue to make noises off and on through out the entire time of driving, which is a distraction. She has to manually and forcefully unlock and lock the front passenger driver side door as well as the back left passenger side door to get in and out of the vehicle and if not for manually unlocking either door the trunk will not open at all.

One month ago, car locks would randomly lock and unlock while driving. Now the Driver side front door lock actuator stopped working. I cannot open door manually from the inside or unlock the door with the key from the outside. Now I can only exit the car by the passenger door and leave the car unlocked otherwise I can't get in if it's locked.

The locking actuator on the driver's side it has failed and is acting erratic. I've seen other reports of the same complaint on the same make and model of this year.

THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED IN THE FRONT AND SCRATCHES ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT PANEL AND DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.

ON JUNE 9 2016 AFTER MAKING A ROUTINE LEFT TURN FROM A FULL STOP MY 2010 HONDA CRV KEPT ACCELERATING UNCONTROLLABLY. THERE WAS NOTHING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL EXCEPT MY RIGHT FOOT WHICH I IMMEDIATELY RELEASED; HOWEVER, THE CAR KEPT ACCELERATING WITH NOTHING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I USED THE FULL FORCE OF MY BODY TO APPLY BRAKE PRESSURE, BUT THIS WOULD NOT STOP THE CAR; IT MERELY SLOWED IT DOWN SOMEWHAT BUT THE CAR WAS STILL ACCELERATING. I HAD TO MAINTAIN AND INCREASE THIS CONSTANT FULL BODY FORCE EXERTION ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS THE CAR KEPT ACCELERATING. AFTER ABOUT 45 SECONDS I IMMEDIATELY THREW THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL WHEREUPON THE RPMS SURGED WAY PAST 7000 (ONCE AGAIN THERE WAS NO PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND NOTHING WAS TOUCHING IT) & PAST THE CORRESPONDING RED LINE ON THE TACHOMETER. AFTER APPROXIMATELY ANOTHER 15 SECONDS I THREW IT BACK INTO DRIVE WITH THE FULL FORCE OF MY BODY STILL ON THE BREAK PEDAL AND NO PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND I MANAGED TO MANEUVER AND TURN HARD THE VEHICLE INTO A VACANT DRIVEWAY WHEREUPON I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THEREAFTER, THE ENGINE AREA SMOKED FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. I WAITED APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES AND CAREFULLY STARTED THE CAR AGAIN, BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND DROVE SLOWLY DOWN THE NEARBY ROAD TO SEE IF IT WAS GOING TO OCCUR AGAIN. IT DID NOT. I DROVE A THE CAR HOME A FEW MILES AWAY, DID NOT USE IT AGAIN THAT DAY AND THE VERY NEXT DAY (JUNE 10, 2016) I WENT TO THE HONDA DEALER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY FAULT CODES OR ANYTHING MECHANICALLY WRONG. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK IN. THE SERVICE MANAGER THEN CALLED HIM BACK STATING THAT HE SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE TO THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPAIRED IT ONCE MORE BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. While driving down the road, the car began to shake, and I noticed my passenger tire looked weird and thought maybe I had a flat tire. I pulled over to change the tire out. Upon further inspection, I saw that the trailing arm had rusted and broken off of the chassis. Luckily, I was driving slowly and on a rural road, but at higher speeds I believe it would have caused me to lose control of the vehicle. There were no warning indicators that something was going wrong. I searched online to see if the problem would be covered under my insurance and saw the recall that had just been issued by Honda for the same problem. (I have not received a letter in the mail yet so I had no idea the recall had been issued.) The vehicle has not yet been inspected. I called my nearest Honda dealer and they said they can not fix it as Honda has not sent out a remedy yet and gave me the number to Honda. I called them and they said they can't do anything until they find a remedy and mail the recall information to owners. I am now out of a vehicle suitable for my job and worry how I will be able to support my family when Honda has no answer and no remedy and is unwilling to help me solve the problem. I hope this recall gets sent out quickly before it puts anyone else's life at risk.

Honda has issued a recall for 2007-2011 CRVs due to rust leading to failure of the rear trailing arms. Manufacturer Recall NumberXDZ NHTSA Recall Number23V-228 However, Honda has limited its recall only to 22 states and DC, claiming only those use road salts. This is overly limited. Many states use road salts in parts of the state, including California and Nevada, where I live. The official City of Reno website clearly states that my city uses a 24% salt brine solution on roads in the winter. Areas of California directly adjacent to Reno also use similar salts, and many other "dry and warm" states also have mountainous areas where snow and ice cause the use of road salt. https://www.reno.gov/government/departments/public-works/maintenance-operations/street-maintenance/snow-and-ice-control#:~:text=The%20City%20is%20using%20Salt,and%20inclines%20with%20salt%20brine. There is visible rust on my suspension, even though I live in a state Honda is not including in its recall. I am asking that NHTSA order Honda to increase the scope of its recall to include ALL states that use road salt in any part or portion of the state. The southwest is full of mountains, and snow: California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and all other western states should be included in the recall. Many lives are potentially at stake, and Honda should not artificially limit the recall to states that use road salt over 100% of the state. Take a look at snow levels in California and Northern Nevada now: road salt is a fact of life for 4-7 months of the year for many of us. Thank you for your consideration.

The driver side rear suspension trailing arm assembly to the chassis frame rail. Yes, it is available for inspection. Loss of control of the vehicle. A Pennsylvania licensed inspection technician informed us of the severe corrosion of the chassis frame rail on Sept. 23, 2021. No inspections have been made after the failure. We contacted Honda Customer Service regarding the corrosion before any failure, they did not schedule any inspection o the concern. Honda has not returned (4) telephone calls we made to them after the failure. There was no warning.

THE TRUNK WILL OPEN IF I CYCLE THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR ELECTRIC LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN I AM DRIVING THE DOORS WILL CYCLE LOCKED/UNLOCKED UNTIL I MOVE THE MANUAL INDICATOR SEVERAL TIMES. Car stalled, began to smoke while traveling at a low rate of speed on residential street. Found it had no oil. No warning light indicated oil was low. Bought it used two weeks earlier and seller said oil had been recently changed. Passenger-side door locks began locking and unlocking randomly while in motion. No inspection. The A/C compressor stopped working mid-summer. Mechanic inspected, repaired. No longer in possession of this vehicle.

NOT SO MUCH A MECHANICAL ISSUE MORE SO ELECTRICAL OF SOFTWARE RELATED. IT IS UNKNOWN WHEN THE ENGINE WILL TURN OFF. THERE ARE TWO RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH STALLED ENGINE FOR HONDA CR-V 2010. THERE ARE THE IGNITION CIRCUIT COUPLER FAILURE (11V004000) AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE (11V395000) HOWEVER MY VIN IS NOT APART OF THAT RECALL. I AM SCARED AND FEAR FOR MY LIFE THAT THIS STALLED ENGINE ISSUE WILL CAUSE MY CAR TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT OR EVEN WORST HAVE SOMEONE ELSE AND I GET KILLED.

THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD AND IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALLED AAA ROAD SERVICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE RADIATOR, COMPRESSOR, AND BELT. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BY AAA ROAD SERVICE. SEVEN DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (OCEAN HONDA IN SANTA CRUZ, CA, 831-661-8693) AND THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TRADE IN THE VEHICLE FOR A NEW ONE. THE CONTACT PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE INSTEAD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 118,000.

I WISH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY 2010 HONDA CRV. I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH MY AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. WHEN IT IS HOT, IT BLOWS HOT AIR EVEN WHEN IT IS SET ON THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE. HOWEVER, WHEN IT IS NIGHTTIME IT WILL BLOW COLD AIR. HONDA EVACUATED AND RECHARGED THE SYSTEM ONLY FOR ME TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUES TWO MONTHS LATER. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE AC COMPRESSOR, COIL SET, CLUTCH SET, ETC. I WENT TO GET A SECOND OPINION AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE AC COMPRESSOR WOULD NOT EVEN POWER ON DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IN RELATION TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES, MY CAR ALSO STALLED ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THAT ISSUE RECTIFY WITHOUT TAKING IT TO HONDA.

DRIVER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. UNABLE TO LOCK DOOR WITH KEY FOB, HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK IT. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FOR THE 2007 AND 2008 MODEL, HOWEVER THE COMPANY IS STILL USING THE DEFECT PART IN NEWER MODELS. WAITING FOR THE OTHER DOOR TO MALFUNCTION AND IF IT PERSIST IT MIGHT CAUSE A FIRE IN THE DOOR. BIG SAFETY CONCERN, GUESS THE GOVERNMENT WILL WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE DIES BEFORE RECALLING THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE A 2010 HONDA CRV AND IT IS CONSUMING AN EXCESS AMOUNT OF OIL. I HAVE PREFORMED NUMEROUS TESTS WITH THE DEALERSHIP EVERY 1000 MILES PER THE TEST REQUIREMENTS FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. MY CRV IS CURRENTLY USING 26OZ OF OIL OR MORE EVERY 1000 MILES AND THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA STATE THAT IT IS WITHIN NORMAL RANGE. THEY STATED THAT I SHOULD CHECK MY OIL EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK. THEY STATED THAT IF I DO NOT CHECK MY OIL EVERY TIME I GET GAS, THE LEVEL MAY GO LOW AND MY ENGINE CAN BLOW UP. I DO NOT THINK IT IS REASONABLE TO HAVE TO CHECK MY OIL EVERY WEEK FOR A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HONDA CRVS FROM 2010 AND IT WOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF MY CAR STOPS WORKING WHILE DRIVING.

CR-V 2010 EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. MY HUSBAND DRIVES THE CAR TO WORK EVERY DAY FOR AN HOUR. WE START HEARING A CRANKING NOISE COMING FORM THE ENGINE IN THE COLD MORNINGS. WE FOLLOW RECOMMENDATIONS ON OIL CHANGES AND USE SYNTHETIC OIL. I CHECK THE OIL REGULARLY AND ADD SOME WHEN IT NEEDS IT. I WAS AMAZE AT HOW MUCH OIL IT BURN. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH EXCESSIVE OIL USE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON TWO (2) DEALERSHIPS RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE TIMING BELT TIMING CHAIN TENSION AND CAM SHAFT. 62,000 MILES CAR WAS DRIVING VERY BAD SO I DID THE REPAIRS $ 1,212.40 . THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT'S "NORMAL". I HAVE A MINI VAN TOYOTA WITH 273,000 MILES NEVER CHANCE THE TIMING BELT/CHAIN STILL RUNNING. HONDA OF AMERICA SAYING THAT BURNING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES IS NORMAL. THAT IS UNETHICAL. I HAVE DONE THE 1,000 MILE OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT MY CRV CAN BURN UP TO A QUART OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES AND IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN HELP ME. MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DON'T WORK CONTINUOUSLY. MY HI BEAMS WORK AND THE DAY RUNNING LIGHTS WORK BUT THE LOW BEAMS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. I WAS ON A DARK HIGHWAY WHEN I NOTICED MY LOW BEAMS WERE NOT WORKING BUT WHEN I SWITCHED TO MY HI BEAMS THEY WORKED FINE. LATER DATES THE LOW BEAMS WORKED AND THEN DIDN'T WORK ON OTHER DATES. HAVE READ MANY INSTANCES ON LINE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT WITH THE CR-V. DIFFERENT YEARS THAN MINE BUT CR-VS JUST THE SAME. ONE OF MY HEADLIGHTS WAS REPLACED IN SEPTEMBER 2016. I ONLY NOTICED THE PROBLEM IN DECEMBER 2017 PROBLEM WHEN I WAS ON A DARK ROAD AND HIGHWAY. I DON'T USUALLY DRIVE AT NIGHT. I WILL BE TAKING MY VEHICLE INTO HONDA TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ANALYZED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 30,000 MILES (ON AVERAGE APPROXIMATELY 5,500 MILES A YEAR). IT HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECT TO UNUSUAL WEATHER CONDITIONS OF ANY TYPE. THE BRAKE ROTORS HAVE RUSTED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS A RESULT OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE FOR HONDA CR-V MODEL YEARS 2007 - 2010. HONDA MADE THE NECESSARY CHANGES TO CORRECT THE DEFECT ON SUBSEQUENT MODEL YEARS. THE DEALERSHIP, CRISWELL HONDA IN GERMANTOWN, MD, CHARGED ME TO RESURFACE THE ROTORS WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE INHERENT DEFECT. THE ROTORS HAVE NOT BEEN SUBJECT TO "WEAR AND TEAR" . MY DISCUSSIONS WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER HAVE INDICATED THAT HONDA IS FULLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IS ESSENTIALLY INDIFFERENT TO THE DEFECT AND INSISTS UPON CHARGING THE CUSTOMER FOR THE REPAIR. BECAUSE OF THE INHERENT BRAKE DEFECT IT IS NOT AT ALL CLEAR THAT THE "REPAIR" WILL ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. I HAVE THE ROTOR RESURFACE INVOICE BUT THERE IS NO DISPUTE THAT I WAS CHARGED FOR A "REPAIR" THAT DID NOT FIX THE DEFECT. I PURCHASED MY CRV FROM HERSONS HONDA ON JANUARY 28, 2010 WITH 13 MILES. I DID MY A1 MAINTENANCE SERVICE ON JUNE 14, 2010 WITH 4,676 MILES AND MY B1 SERVICE WAS DONE ON SEPT. 18, 2010 WITH 9,853 MILES. BOTH SERVICES WERE COMPLETED AT HERSONS HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT. IN NOV. I CALLED HERSONS HONDA SERVICE DEPART. TO REPORT PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKE PEDAL SINKING TO THE FLOOR AND SLIDING FORWARD WHILE I AM WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, THE SERVICE DEPART. INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS NOT UNUSUAL WITH HONDAS AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT THERE IS NO NEED FOR CONCERN. ON THE CONTRARY, THE PROBLEM BECAME WORSE. ON DEC. 14, MY COLLEAGUE AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN A RAMP IN A PARKING GARAGE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN FAILED AND CAUSED ME CONSIDERABLE DISTRESS AS I FEARED FOR MY SAFETY AND THAT OF MY PASSENGER. ON DEC. 15, 2010, I TOOK MY CRV TO HERSONS SERVICE DEPART. FOR INSPECTION. THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY BRAKE FLUID WAS CONTAMINATED, ALL THE SEALS ARE SWOLLEN, IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR AND IT WILL COST ME $5402.00 TO REPAIR IT. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER TO FIND OUT HOW MY BRAKE FLUID GOT CONTAMINATED AND WHEN THEY COULD REPAIR IT SINCE MY CAR WAS ONLY 12,566 MILES AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES, SUGGESTING IT WAS MY FAULT AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I REQUESTED FOR THE PHONE NUMBER OF AMERICAN HONDA AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. AMERICAN HONDA SAID THAT THEY WILL INVESTIGATE AND COME BACK TO ME. I WAS TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT MY OFFICE, SPEED < 5MPH, APPLIED THE BRAKES TO MAKE THE TURN. THERE WERE CONSTRUCTION WORKERS AT THE SITE, SPEED BUMPS AND CHILDREN COMING AND GOING. I WAS VERY ATTENTIVE TO ALL THESE CIRCUMSTANCES AS I TURNED INTO THE SPOT. SUDDENLY THERE WAS AN UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION OF THE CAR WITH NO ABILITY TO BRAKE THE VEHICLE, WHICH DID NOT STOP UNTIL IT HIT A BRICK WALL THAT WAS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE CAR, PERHAPS JUST 8-10 FEET AWAY. WHEN THE FIRST ATTEMPT TO BRAKE DID NOT WORK, I HIT THE BRAKE A SECOND TIME. STILL NOTHING. AFTER I HIT THE WALL, A CONTRACTION WORKER WHO SAW THE ENTIRE THING CAME OVER TO CHECK ON ME. (I DID HAVE A SEATBELT ON, AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY.) I FELT LIKE I WAS OKAY, BUT WAS SHOOK UP AND CONFUSED. I TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPENED. HE STATED THAT HE COULD SMELL THE BRAKES, WHICH WERE SO HOT FROM TRYING TO STOP THE CAR. SUBSTANTIAL FRONT END DAMAGE WAS INCURRED, AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. ASSESSMENT THERE SHOWED THAT THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE ITSELF AND THERE WAS PLENTY OF BRAKE FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR. I BELIEVE THIS IS ANOTHER INCIDENT, LIKE OTHERS HAVE REPORTED, WHERE THE CAR ACCELERATES AS THE BRAKES ARE TAPPED. I CONSIDER THIS CAR TO BE DANGEROUS AT THIS POINT, AND I AM WAITING FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO DETERMINE IF THEY WILL TOTAL IT. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, BUT HAVE HAD A FEW TIMES WHEN THERE WAS A LAG IN THE ACCELERATION. I HAVEN'T TALKED TO HONDA YET, BUT I WILL DO SO THIS WEEKEND.

THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. IN APRIL 2013, I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE. TO AVOID HITTING A SLOWING CAR, I TAPPED THE BRAKE AND TURNED THE WHEEL SLIGHTLY TO MOVE COMPLETELY BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE. THE CAR ACCELERATED EXPONENTIALLY, AS IF OVERDRIVE HAD BEEN TURNED OFF OR CRUISE CONTROL HAD KICKED IN (CRUISE WAS NOT ON). THE CAR SPED UNCONTROLLABLY FIRST TOWARD THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND THEN TO THE LEFT WHILE I TURNED THE WHEEL TO STAY ON THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENED HALF A DOZEN TIMES BEFORE THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED. THE SECOND EVENT OCCURRED WHILE PULLING INTO A FRONT END PARKING SPACE AT AN OFFICE BUILDING. SPEED WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO REGISTER ON THE ODOMETER. TAPPING THE BRAKE CAUSED THE CAR TO ACCELERATE AS DESCRIBED PREVIOUSLY, HEADING TOWARD A BRICK WALL ABOUT 8 FEET AWAY. I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE, BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR AND AVOID THE WALL, BUT TOOK OUT ALL THE FRONT PLANTINGS, A LIGHT POLE AND A SMALL TREE, DOING ALMOST $3,000 DAMAGE TO MY CAR PLUS MORE FOR THE BUILDING. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL HONDA SERVICE. THEIR RESPONSE: WE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. BRING IT BACK WHEN THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. ON THE MORNING OF MAY 17, 2013, MY WIFE, DAUGHTER AND I WERE FLYING OUT OF TOWN. MY WIFE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND OUR DAUGHTER IN THE REAR SEAT. WE HAD A NORMAL DRIVE UP TO THE AIRPORT. WE PARKED AT EXPRESS SOUTH PARKING INSIDE THE DFW AIRPORT TO CATCH THE SHUTTLE TO OUR TERMINAL. WHILE MY WIFE AND I CAME OUT OF OUR CAR AND PUT OUR LUGGAGE IN THE SHUTTLE, MY DAUGHTER DID NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR. WHEN WE CHECKED ON HER, WE FOUND THAT SHE WAS STUCK IN HER SEAT AND COULD NOT GET OUT. IT WAS A BIG SURPRISE FOR US TO FIND SOMEONE STUCK IN THE CAR SEAT WHO COULD NOT GET OUT. WE FOUND THAT THE BELT WAS LOCKED AND IT HAD BECOME A NOOSE AROUND HER WAIST. WE TRIED VERY HARD TO PULL THE BELT TO FREE HER BUT IT WAS VERY TIGHTLY LOCKED AND COULD NOT BE PULLED. THIS CREATED A SITUATION WHERE THE BELT BECAME A NOOSE. IT BECAME A PANIC SITUATION FOR US SEEING OUR CHILD STUCK IN THE CAR AND UNABLE TO MOVE. LUCKILY, AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF TRYING, MY WIFE REALIZED THAT WE HAD A PAIR OF SCISSORS IN OUR LUGGAGE. WE CUT THE BELT TO FREE HER. ALTHOUGH WE WERE LUCKY THAT MY DID NOT SUFFER ANY INJURY, THIS PROBLEM WITH BELTS CAN LEAD TO A POTENTIALLY VERY SERIOUS SAFETY SITUATION. The rear trailing arm on the driver side of the vehicle broke away from the frame causing the wheel assembly to jam under the vehicle, bringing it to an abrupt stop. My daughter was driving the car at the time. The failure occurred while she was pulling into the entrance of the hospital where she works, blocking the entrance to the hospital. Fortunately the failure did not occur minutes earlier while she was driving on the highway. Service technicians at Honda of Mankato, MN confirmed the trailing arm broke away due to frame corrosion. The vehicle is currently located at Honda of Mankato. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

On my 2010 Honda CRV, the rear frame stiffener became excessively corroded over time which resulted in frame stiffener perforation . On 10/18/22, the rear trailing arm separated from the vehicle's body while I was driving, forcing loss of control until I could bring the vehicle to a stop. I called my auto service provider to come and examine the problem which he confirmed that the rear trailing arm had separated from the body, the car was undrivable, and needed to be towed to Butler's Body Shop. The body shop confirmed that the rear trailing arm was separated from the body, that the right and left trailing arms, the right and left rail assembly, and the left axle assembly would need to be replaced. I learned that there was a safety recall issued by Honda Canada for Rear Frame Stiffener Corrosion for 2007-2011 Honda CRV's. I contacted American Honda to report the issue and was told since there was no recall from them for my vehicle that there would be no reimbursement from them to fix my 2010 CRV. The same problem for the same vehicle warrants a safety recall from Honda Canada but not from American Honda? Makes no sense. My Honda case # is 13433028. Please investigate before a serious accident occurs. I have pictures of the corrosion and copies of the invoices which detail the repair.

When I started driving the vehicle in 2021, I noticed it had a weak power and it was shaking. I purchased a set of four new coils, and spark plugs at the suggestion of a mechanic. I have had to change coil number 3 -three times since then and less than 3000 miles driving. This has to be a magnufacturing issue. I need someone to look at this issue to see why it is giving me so much problems.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was a scraping sound coming from the rear driver’s side of the vehicle. While driving approximately 40 MPH, there was a loud banging sound with smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to stop while depressing the brake pedal. After coasting to a stop, the contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that the rear passenger’s side suspension had failed. The vehicle was towed to the home and examined by an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the rear driver’s side lower control arm had failed due to severe corrosion of the subframe. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 159,000. The contact stated that due to the rust and corrosion, the insurance company denied the claim. The contact was forced to purchase another vehicle.

I OWN A 2010 HONDA CRV EX. The rear sub frame that carries the axle and suspension on the left side broke while making a left- hand turn from a restaurant. The sub frame that attaches to the unibody had rusted and the bolt connecting the suspension had pulled the frame section out. The car was inspected by my insurance company AARP Hartford and denied payment. They considered this a mechanical issue. The suv was towed to Honda North in Butler PA where we bought the vehicle new for inspection. They also said it was a rust issue one of which the service manager has never seen in 30 some years working at Honda. He referred it to the area manager who said the same. They too would not repair or offer compensation monies. I found there is a recall in Canada for the same problem. The vehicle has always been garage kept in a heated area. There is no rust on the rest of the body. I was lucky that we were only going about 10MPH when this incident happened in Franklin PA. Two days prior we were driving on 79 South heading to Pittsburgh PA and going 65/70 MPH. Thank God it did not happen then. We do not have any repair estimates from the Honda North people, they simply said it was not something they would repair. I am still waiting for documentation from our Hartford Insurance claim.

I put my car in Drive after I got the green light to exit the car wash and the car surged forward and continued accelerating, knocking over several installations and going over a median separating the car wash from the roadway. The car ended up on the roadway, finally slowed down by multiple collisions and I was able to get control of it and get it parked and wait for the police to come. By some miracle, no-one was hurt, but the car was completely out of control. It just wouldn't stop or slow down. It was the most bizarre experience I have ever had and I fear it will not or cannot be investigated. I have informed my insurance company and my hope is that they can find something showing that the car malfunctioned.

FIRST CALL WAS MARCH THEY SAID BY SUMMER THE PART WOULD BE IN. I CALLED IN JULY AND THEY SAID NOW IT WOULD NOT BE UNTIL FALL THAT IT COMES IN. I FINALLY HAD TO MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA AND WITHIN A WEEK THE DEALER CALLED AND SAID THE PART WAS IN. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED. HOWEVER BECAUSE THEY REQUIRED ME TO SIGN A PAPER SAYING I WOULD KEEP THE CAR PARKED AND NOT DRIVE IT, MY BREAK ROTORS FRONT AND REAR GOT VERY RUSTY. THE CAR SHAKES AND SHIMMIES WHEN BRAKING NOW. WHEN THE RACK REACHES THE END OF TRAVEL, IT HITS A RUBBER BUMPER AND SHUTS OFF THE MOTOR. WHEN THE RUBBER BUMPER WEARS OUT, THE RACK GOES TOO FAR AND THE NOISE YOU HEAR IS THE MOTOR GEAR GRINDING AGAINST THE END OF THE RACK. THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY RELOCKING ITSELF HAPPENS WHEN THE RACK BOUNCES BACKWARDS AND HITS THE LOCK CONTACTS. THE 2010 CR-V HAS VERY SLUGGISH ACCELERATION FROM LOW SPEED AND FROM A DEAD STOP. Got this vehicle about a year and a half ago at full price from local dealership. It looks like it has been pieced together with many other hondas. The check engine light has been on ever since. The car keeps yet no camera. Just tried to get inspected. So far charged 2500 but was given a pass on inspection only for the light to come back on. I noticed on the back of repair paperwork this car has 2 airbag recalls. I feel duped I feel like this is attempted murder. I feel scared and sad. Something must be done with used car purchases

Our vehicle started to jerk whenever it is at low gear. The check engine light goes on and off. The traction control light goes on and off. And an error code came up: p060a. The vehicle has stalled 2x after moderately jerking multiple times while driving @ 50m/hr. The air conditioning blows hot air after a few minutes of it running. We have checked recalls for the particular make, model and year and it is showing the classic vehicle recalls from Honda. Unfortunately, our VIN number shows that it was not part of the recalled vehicle. We have gone through Honda hoping that they could at least do a diagnostic run and verify if it is a possible recall issue, but they will only do it if we pay for everything. Please help.

Good afternoon, I'll try to keep this as brief as possible; I'm sure you can recontact me if you need additional information. This is not an incident, rather an issue related to the current recall 23V-228 for my 2010 Honda CRV. In 1/2023, the garage advised my Honda would not pass Maine State Safety Inspection due to the severe rust on the frame and where the left rear lower control arm (LCA) attached to the frame. They advised it could detach/break off, and my ability to steer safely to a stop would be affected. I took it to the Honda dealership and they confirmed it was unsafe to drive unless the rust and frame could be repaired. The dealer did not mention this was a common problem or any upcoming recalls for this issue. In 2/2023, I found a body shop that was able to repair the corrosion on the frame and the connection point for the LCA. I paid $1600, and the car passed Maine State Safety Inspection at the same garage that identified the problem. In 5/2023, I received the Honda safety recall referenced above, which states "you may be eligible for reimbursement if you paid for recall repairs out of pocket." I called the 888 # on the recall, received an email from American Honda, and replied to their email with the documents they requested, including the repair invoice. After recontacting American Honda a second time in 8/23, and a third time in 9/23, they advised they did not receive the document in 5/23, and I should resend the repair invoice. I received a call from American Honda on 10/16/2023, during which time they stated I was not eligible for reimbursement. This was due to the fact the repair invoice did not specifically state: “Trailing arm holder kit was replaced”. My case (#XXX) was closed. I read in a Part 574 Safety Recall Report, "Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense will be eligible for reimbursement, in accord with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA." Car cames to a stop and instead of stopping straight up it stops and the car frame and suspension still moves. The suspension can cause a wreak for not stoping in time. Also when i put it in neutral it goes backwards on flat ground other then forward. So something is wrong with the shifter or the sway bars also when u put it in park some times it still moves forward

On June 7, 2023, I took my 2010 Honda CRV to the Honda dealer for two safety recalls. 1. Airbag recall: They repaired the airbag. 2. Rust recall "Rear Frame Brace Safety Recall": When I dropped the car off, they inspected it and said the rust recall could not be completed because of the severe rust. They issued me a rental until they could complete the process for a possible buy-back. They then called me to say the rust recall "repair" was complete. When I went to pick up the care, they said they could not pass it through inspection. I then took it to my local repair shop for inspection and they said it could not pass. The mechanic showed me underneath the severe rust damage. He lightly touched it with a screwdriver and chuncks of rust fell to the floor. Even though Honda placed two small brackets under the car, the rust is very severe. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. Also, I feel vulnerable to being pulled over because of the expired inspection sticker. Please advise as to what to do. This is my only vehicle and I depend on it to get to work, etc. I do have photos of the underneath of the car showing the rust and the repair brackets.

2010 Honda CR-V. Based on a HONDA dealer report and diagnosed in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 27, 2022. The A/C compressor, coil and A/C system clutch burned out during a trip through high dessert on Interstate 15 north from California to a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. Temperature 107 degrees, heavy raining and in the middle of flash warning storm. According with Mechanic and HONDA Service advisors at Nevada's HONDA dealership, the A/C compressor's friction also, most likely rested engine power and proper performance to engine water pump and engine alternator. During this incident, we (My spouse and I) were so concerned of vehicle total engine failure and monitored engine temperature constantly, during remaining part of the trip. We continued traveling at reduced speed at approximately 40 miles per hour due to heavy rain and high altitude. We were forced to stop and reduce the speed to 15 miles per hour due to lack of visibility and poor engine performance and lack of power. The A/C compressor and A/C clutch burned-out completed, and A/ C ceased to fully operate. Cost of repair is estimated at $2,934.55 This incident has similar conditions and A/C system failure, as previously reported in NHTSA complaint No. 10056005

I WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO KENT GENERAL HOSPITAL DOVER DE, WHERE I HAD A CT SCAN AND AN MRI AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A T1 COMPRESSION FRACTURE AND INJURY TO LIGAMENTS OF C1,2,3. CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THE VEHICLE IS COVERED UNDER AN EXCESSIVE OIL COMSUMPTION WARRANTY WHICH THEY WILL REPLACE THE ENGINE PISTON RINGS DUE TO OIL ENTERING THE SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO CAUSE OIL TO GET INTO THE FUEL SYSTEM AND EVENTUALLY GET IT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CAUSING IT TO FOULED AND SET EFFICIENCY CODES .I AM IN THE PROCESS OF ENQUIRE TO SEE IF HONDA WILL REPLACE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER.

DEALER SERVICE REP SAID THEY HAVE SEEN A FEW THESE SEAT ASSEMBLIES BREAKING ON THE HONDA CRV 2010 MODEL YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW HONDA CR-V 2010 AND HAS BEEN SERVICES THROUGHT SAME PLACE PURCHASED SINCE DAY ONE. THE COMPLAINT OF A "METAL NOISE" DROPPING WHEN REVERSING. I HAVE REPLACED THE TIRES, BRAKES, CALIPERS, DRUMS AND ROTARS AS THEY SIEZED, WORE UNEVENLY AND "OXIDIZED(?). I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE TIRES HAVE AN IMPRESSION ON THEM AS THE VEHICLE MUST HAVE BEEN NOT USED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THE CARE IS USED DAILY. SOME EXCUSED PROVIDED HAVE BEEN AMAZING. MAIN POINT IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION/METAL NOISE CONTINUED WHILE I DROVE THE CAR OR WHEN MY COUSIN WAS GOING TO USE IT (BUT DECLINED WHEN HE HEARD THE NOISE) WHEN THE CARE GOES IN FOR SERVICING "NOISE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED" I WOULD LEAVE AND GET HOME UNSTATISFIED AND DUE TO RESPONSIBILITIES IN LIFE MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO JUST GO RIGHT BACK OUT TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IT GOT TO THE POINT THAT I WOULD TAKE THE VEHICLE OUT FOR TEST RIDE. FINALLY WHEN I DUPLICATED THE NOISE. REPEATEDLY/ANNUALLY COMPLAINED AND WAS NOT FOUND UNTIL HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR OVER A MONTH (GSH DID PROVIDE LOANER) I HAVE RETURNED TO THE SERVICE CENTER SINCE THE CAR HAS BEEN THERE, BUT CONTINUED TO LEAVE MY CAR THERE. NOW THEY WANT ME TO PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE ($100) AN ADDITIONAL FEE FOR NEW TRANSMISSION OF $1510.00. THIS IS A PROBLEM I HAD DOCUMENTED ON EVERY SERVICE SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE.. WHEN IN REVERSE AND PROCEED TO REVERSE THE METALIC NOISE DROPS BUT THE CAR STILL GOES IN MOTION. THERE WERE TWO TIMES IT DID IT IN DRIVE. EVERY SERVICE VISIT WAS ROUTINE AND SCEDULED; RECOMMENDED SERVICES WERE DONE ON THE SPOT, NOT WHEN I WOULD RETURN FOR NEXT OIL CHANGE.. SERVICE DOCUMENTATION HAS BEEN MADE REGARDING A COMPLAINANT OF A METAL NOISE DROPPING FROM THE VEHICLE AS OF NOV 2010 AND BASICALLY EVERY YEAR TO FOLLOW. I DID PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. HOWEVER, NOW I HAVE JUST BEEN ADVISED IT IS AN INTERNAL ISSUE IN THE TRANSMISSION AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY $1600. IT SEEMED THAT MOST COSTLY ISSUES REALLY BEGAN TO SURFACE AFTER THE 5 YEAR WARRANTEE. HOWEVER IT SEEMED THAT NOTHING IS WRONG, BUT AFTER A THIRD RETURN AND TAKING THE VEHICLE OUT AND REPRODUCING THE NOISE/PROBLEM I HAVE COMPLAINED OF SINCE MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE NO HAS BEEN "DISCOVERED". I HAVE ALWAYS DONE THE RECOMMENDED SERVICES ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME I HAVE MAINTAINED ITS SERVICE SINCE IT HAS BEEN PURCHASED WITH GARDEN STATE HONDA. MY MOST RECENT SERVICE; COMPLAINANT OF NOISES SEEMED THAT HAS GONE UNFOUNDED OR COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE NOISE/PROBLEM WAS FINALLY FOUND AFTER I RETURN TO RETRIEVE MY VEHICLE FOR A THIRD TIME AND AFTER PAYING A SERVICE BILL OF NEARLY $700.00 ON THE FIRST RETURN. AFTER TAKING IT ON A ROAD TEST, THE PROBLEM EXISTED AND MY CAR NOW PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE CAR REMAINED AND WHEN I RETURNED TO GET MY VEHICLE AS NO ISSUE COULD BE FOUND AND THEY 'GAVE ME A FREE ALIGNMENT'. TECHNICIAN,'IZZY' AND MYSELF DID ROAD TEST & DUPLICATED THE NOISE AGAIN (EXISTING SINCE 2010)' DUPLICATING IT MULITIPLE TIMES; NOW FIND OUT AN INTERNAL ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION EXISTS. PREVIOUSLY, HONDA OF WHITE PLAINS DID OIL CHANGE & SAID TO RETURN TO GSH AS REAR BRAKES WERE SEIZING. THAT WAS FIXED AFTER TWO SERVICE TRIPS TO GSH. MR. I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON 3/26/10 BASED UPON PERFORMANCE RATINGS BOASTED BY HONDA. THERE HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURERS DEFECTS FROM THE START. CURRENTLY ABOUT 118,000 MILES. EARLY ON I STARTED HEARING PINGING SOUNDS UNDER THE HOOD. HONDA DEALER SAID I WAS LOW ON OIL, PUT A QUART IN, AND THE SOUND STOPPED. HE ADVISED TO PUT OIL IN WHENEVER THE SOUND OCCURRED. THIS WAS BEFORE MY FIRST OIL CHANGE. I CONTINUED TO ADD OIL AS THE SOUND RE-OCCURRED, 2-4 QUARTS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. I REPEATEDLY QUESTIONED THE CONSUMPTION BUT NO MALFUNCTION WAS FOUND. JULY OF 2011 HONDA ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM WITH (TSB#11-033). IN NOVEMBER 2011, THE DEALER DID AN OIL CONSUMPTION SOFTWARE UPDATE. AT THIS TIME THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTINUAL COST FOR SYNTHETIC OIL REMAINED AND THE OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. AN OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL ISSUED IN 2015. THE CAR FAILED THE OIL TEST HONDA DID REQUIRED SERVICE AS PER RECALL PROTOCOL. THE TECH INDICATED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. HONDA AGREED TO PAY 50% OF THE CC REPAIR. I DECLINED SINCE I HAVE NO MONEY FOR THIS DUE TO UNEMPLOYMENT, NOR SHOULD I PUT ONE CENT INTO A CAR THAT HAS BEEN DEFECTIVE FROM THE START. MY CAR WAS ALSO RECALLED FOR TAKATA AIRBAGS. HONDA PROVIDED A RENTAL CAR FOR 2.5 MONTHS. I PICKED UP THE CAR AND NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, BRAKES MALFUNCTIONING AND COMPROMISED CC. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING A CAR WITH A SUBSTANTIAL DEFECT FROM THE DAY ONE. I HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS DOLLARS ON OIL. THERE HAVE BEEN TWO RECALLS. THE CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE OR DEPENDABLE DUE TO CC AND BRAKES. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT ENGINE LONGEVITY. I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT BEING FEARFUL. THE VEHICLE FILED VIRGINIA SAFETY INSPECTION BECAUSE THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT WAS SEVERELY FRAYED. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 23,008 MILES ON IT. THE REPAIR SHOP INSTALLED A NEW SEATBELT (GENUINE HONDA PART) AND ADVISED ME TO CONTACT HONDA. THE REPAIR SHOP RETURNED THE DEFECTIVE SEAT BELT TO ME TO AID IN MY CLAIM. I CONTACTED HONDA OF NORTH AMERICA AND WAS ADVISED TO SEE MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP (HALL HONDA). AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT "TOUCH" SOMETHING THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. I THEN CALLED HONDA NORTH AMERICA BACK AND INFORMED THEM OF HALL'S VERDICT. THE SITUATION HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AT THIS POINT, BUT I WANTED TO REPORT THIS IN CASE THERE MAY BE OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE, THEIR SAFETY MAY BE JEOPARDIZED AS WELL.

GEARS BEGAN TO CRUNCH AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE. SLOWED DOWN AT A LIGHT AND LOST THE POWER STEERING. PULLED OVER AND THE ENGINE STALLED. COULD NOT RE-START FOR 10 MINUTES. ENGINE THEN RE-STARTED, TRAVELED APPROX. 10 METERS AND STALLED. RE-STARTED AGAIN - NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. 2 SIMILAR OCCURRENCES, 2 MONTHS APART. FOR THE FIRST EVENT, THE CAR WENT OFF THE ROAD. ON EACH OCCASION THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY HAD CHECKED EVERYTHING AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. TOOK IT FOR A SECOND OPINION. DEALERSHIP HAD NOT CHECKED RECALL 11-001 (JANUARY, 2011). I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 HONDA CR-V AND IT IS USED REGULARLY. THE TIRE PRESSURE HAS BEEN LOW ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DUE TO NAIL IN THE TIRE OR JUST LOW PRESSURE.
