The contact owns a 2014 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the VTC actuator, resulting in damages to the engine. The contact was informed that a partial rebuild of the engine was required. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 16-012. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Honda CR-V. The contact stated when the vehicle was started, there was a loud rattling sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The vehicle was scheduled for an upcoming diagnostic test. The contact stated that the failure had been occurring intermittently since 2014, however in 2020 the failure occurred, and the variable timing actuator (VTC)was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 52,032.

Rattles and shakes between 25 and 40 mph, bad actuator will cause timing failure. It only has 71,000 miles. Honda is well aware of this defect in this vehicle. When will they be held accountable to fix this issue? At 33k I was definitely taken for a ride! No engine warning light either!

This morning, I went to get into my 2014 Honda CR-V. As I shut the driver’s side door, the entire rear hatchback window suddenly shattered. There was no impact, accident, or attempted theft. The vehicle was parked and stationary at the time. I’m unsure why this happened, but it appears to have occurred spontaneously and without any external force.

While parking at friend house behind her car partially on sidewalk, had to go fwd and reverse to park correctly. When switching to drive as car was on very slight decline (rear end higher) got sudden engine acceleration. Put in Neutral , saw RPM climb to about 3000 rpm and then several seconds later dropped to normal. All past unintended accelerations have been with front end on decline (lower than rear). Happens randomly maybe every few months. Have filed prior reports. Am on alert with hand on gear shift when slowing to a stop now.

On December 23, 2024, I purchased a 2014 Honda CRV. A few days later I noticed that the heating system was not working properly. I called the dealership and told them about the problem. They gave me an appointment with the service department to have the heating system looked at. The diagnosis was that it had a bad heater core. The service attendant told me that it was a common problem with the 2014 Honda CRVs and also Honda sent out service bulletin (Service bulletin #14063)about the problem. I stated it had only 49,000 miles on this vehicle. How can this be with Honda building reliable cars. They advised me that all it needed was a flushing of the heater core and that it was going to be at my expense and that there would be no absolute guarantee that it would solve the problem. If it did not work, the next step would be to replace the heater core, again at my expense ($1400.00) The flushing did not work at which the heater core was replaced. I don’t understand why this problem was not addressed by the Honda Company. If Honda doesn’t do a recall, at least stand by the Honda name and reimburse the owner for the defective part. Again, 49,000 miles.

Sudden Unintended Acceleration Vehicle has approx 60,700 miles and never a mechanical issue, been extremely reliable. Today [XXX] went shopping in Burlington ,MA (from Watertown, MA) no issues from 7:15AM departure to about 9:05 AM at friend house (XXX).. While parking on part of sidewalk, went into reverse. Then switched to "drive" to position vehicle and suddenly had obvious event of sudden unintended acceleration. Put in neutral and hit brake, as I am always on alert for issue based on past events. . Happened one more time a minute later and foot was not on accelerator but on brake as I switched between reverse and Drive. Made a point with wife in passenger seat to assure not on accelerator. Last time issue occurred was on [XXX] and recorded event even to Honda. On 6/13/24 someone called "Walter" called from Honda regarding my recording issues with Honda (5 incidences). As we were going on vacation I told him that he should call me back after 7/17/24 and he said OK, no problem. I never got a call back. Left vehicle with son-in-law who is master mechanic and he checked it while I was away. Cleaned Throttle body and other parts. Seemed to correct it and no problem at all until [XXX]. Am always prepared for a rare repeat event when coming to a stop or at a stop, hand on transmission shift and foot on brake. Problem is that it occurs rarely and no way a dealer or maybe even a Honda rep will pin down the cause as it's not repeatable. Will have son-in-law recheck it before wasting time with dealer or Honda again , neither of who will never find a cause or repeat it while they hold my vehicle. . Hi, I am [XXX] - owning Honda CRV 2014 model - the vehicle was purchased in Buffalo NY and used in Buffalo from 2014 till 2022 September. Currently I live in Georgia state and when I went for service at local dealer, they shown me most of the places under the vehicle was rusted and not sure how much time it will run. I know Honda has recalled many Honda crvs which ran on coldest places but I am not able to find a recall for this 2014 year to fix that rust problem. Could you please help with get that fixed. The tailgate door doesn’t open normally sometime I have to push the button more than 10 times then it open but most of the time it doesn’t open.I use this car as a spare or for emergency only so I just wait for Honda to recall, hopefully I don’t want to spend a lot of money to fix because the warranty has expired (41 months but only 25000 miles)but now I use this car every day

We have to jump start our vehicle every time it is cold outside. Sometimes when it is warmer. Occasionally hear ticking sound inside of fuse box. Headlights have to be replaced often. Major electrical issue with this vehicle.

The lock actuator is malfunctioning. When driving, the driver's door unlocks and the lights turn on overhead, and the "door ajar" light blinks and beeps. This is very unsafe, as the driver side door unlocks and stays unlocked while driving on the highway and also at slower speeds.

Key fob stopped working. Doors continuously lock and unlock on their own whether it’s parked, driving, engine off or on and occupied or vacant. Replaced fob battery but all problems still exist including key fob nog working. Recall and class action suit settled for prior years but not 2014. Same problem. Honda needs to fix this issue

There is a known issue with 2014 Honda CRV torque converters. My car has always had a funky shift which Honda told me it was just the new CVT transmission. Then back in August my mother drive my car and said that was not correct. I took it to Honda and they said it was the torque converter. It is causing my vehicle to become undrivable with out feeling safe. It judders, shakes and doesn't shift properly. I contacted Honda and they acknowledge that it is a known issue with their CVT transmission. They currently have 1200 orders for torque converters on back order that shows you how much of an issue that this is.

Known Honda issue- tsb a15-086 Software update and trans fluid change in 2018 due to car juddering with light acceleration, did not fix problem. 10/20/23 car was road tested and concern was present. Needs new torque converter to fix original concern

At around 70,000 miles vehicle started to shudder when accelerating lightly between 20-35MPH. The problem would occur intermittently. This has been getting steadily worse with age and milage. At present the vehicle has 85,000 miles and the shuddering occurs to some degree with each take-off from standing start between 20-40MPH. I changed the transmission fluid with the OEM manufacturer's type, and the problem recurred after a few months. I have not received a recall notice from the manufacturer, or returned the car to the dealer for service.

Drive train is malfunctioning. Safety risk unknown. Vehicle subject to "juddering." Honda Technical Service Bulletin 10-086 dated May 25, 2017 (superseding HSB 15-086 dated August 18, 2016) Entitled "Vibration While Driving Under Light Acceleration" presumably issued to dealers. Dealers were advised to update A/T software "at the customer's request." Also, transmission fluid to be replaced. I have an appointment with Ide Honda on June 26, 2023 for an assessment of juddering problem. There is no indication in the service records that the A/T software update was ever performed. However, the subject vehicle was sold to the previous owner as a "Honda Certified Pre-Owned" automobile. No warning lamps are showing.

The contact owns a 2014 Honda CR-V equipped with Cooper Tires, Tire Line: Evolution Tour, Tire Size: 225/65R/17, DOT Number: (Not Available). The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle began to violently shake and vibrate. After stopping to inspect the vehicle, it was discovered that the side wall steel belts had separated on all four tires. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who replaced the four defective tires. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000. The contact stated that the vehicle was driven, not towed, to the local dealer.

We have had 3 Yokohama Geolander CV GO58 tires fail over the course of two months. Two were from the purchase in 2020, one was a replacement for one of the 2020 tires that failed in July 2022. One just failed this evening, August 17, 2022. The tires are not just deflating, they are shredding with little advance notice. The tire pressure gauge comes one and within moments the tires begins to shred. The size of the tire is 215 70 16. My daughter is driving this vehicle in Dallas, Texas and we are concerned that these tires are bad.

DRIVING CLEAR WEATHER, VERY GOOD STREET CONDITION, GOING 50 MILES PER HOUR PULLED TO ALMOST A FULL STOP FOR A LIGHT SIGNAL AND THEN HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE. MOVED FORWARD AND FELT TIRE WAS FLAT. PILLED OVER AND OBSERVED THE SIDE OF THE TIRE BLEW OUT. 2014, HONDA CRV PURCHASED BRAND NEW. MILES ON THE VEHICLES 13,485. NO WEAR ON ALL TIRES VISIBLE. TIRE JUST BLEW UP AND APPEARS LIKE A DEFECT SINCE THERE WAS NO TIRE DAMAGE. TIRE PRESSURE WAS AT PROPER PSI.

I HAVE A 2014 HONDA CRV WITH 21,751 MILES. I ALWAYS HAVE HAD SERVICE BY HONDA REGULARLY AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS. I WAS NOT DUE FOR SERVICE FOR ANOTHER MONTH WHEN I HAD A FLAT TIRE DUE TO A NAIL. I WENT TO GET THE TIRE FIXED WHEN I WAS TOLD BY THE TIRE DEALER THAT ALL 4 TIRES WERE DRY ROTTED. I WAS SKEPTICAL BECAUSE THE CAR WAS JUST 2 YEARS OLD ON OCT. 30, 2015. I TOOK IT TO A FRIEND WHO IS A MECHANIC AND ASKED HIM ABOUT "PLUGGING" MY TIRE JUST TO SEE IF HE WOULD SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE TIRES BEING DRY ROTTED. HE TOOK THE TIRE OFF AND KEPT EXAMINING IT, THEN STARTED LOOKING AT THE OTHER TIRES THEN HE SAID ALL FOUR TIRES HAVE DRY ROT. HE SUGGESTED 4 NEW TIRES AND HE DOES NOT SELL TIRES. I CALLED THE HONDA DEALER BUT HE DID NOT GET BACK TO ME UNTIL LATER THAT DAY. I CALLED CONTINENTAL AND WAS DIRECTED TO ONE OF THEIR DEALERS. When it gets cold the windshield washer system freezes and no fluid will come out. I have used fluid certified to -32C and other additives and nothing helps. This seems to be a common problem on CRV of this year and others. Driving at highway speeds and suddenly getting a dirty window from splash back and then not being able to clean it and loose forward visibility is very dangerous.

THE DEFROSTER BLOWS ONLY COLD AIR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. IT IS STILL WARM/HOT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I LIVE IN THE NORTHEAST AND WHEN YOU CAN'T SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD TO DRIVE IT BECOMES A SERIOUS PROBLEM. The contact owned a 2014 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH on a two-lane road, the contact pressed the brake pedal to avoid rear-ending the vehicle in front. The contact indicated that when pressing the brake pedal, the driver's air bag erroneously deployed, causing the driver to lose control of the steering and crash into a guardrail, where the vehicle came to a stop. The vehicle in front was not crashed into and left the scene after witnessing the crash into the guardrail. The contact sustained severe facial and oral injuries along with a concussion, chest and arm bruising, which required medical treatment. A police report was filed at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed and towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dealer was not contacted. The contact was also concerned that metal fragments may have exploded from the air bag deployment. No additional information was available. The failure mileage was 70,000.

I was in a major car accident. My Honda CR-V air bags did not deploy. Due to the accident I have a neck and back injury. My insurance company has declared my vehicle a total loss. Millions of Americans are driving Honda CR-Vs and due to air bag failure their lives are at risk in the case of a collision. I have called Honda and asked them to investigate the failure of their air bags deployment. They have refused to do so. I am requesting the NHTSA investigate Honda CR-Vs air bag malfunction and help to save many Americans lives. On the passenger side the airbag light came on and it won’t go off. I’m the only one that drives my car. I don’t drive that much! The only time I drive is, when I’m going grocery shopping in morning’s and on weekends running a few errands in the morning’s time. I only had this car for five years and a half.

For over a year now, my Honda CRV 2014 has been producing a rattling noise from the engine on every cold startup. This happens regardless of the temperature outside. When I initially heard it, it was sporadic, again, on cold startup - so the rattling didn't occur every time. Over time though, it will occur every morning, or after the car has been sittinwith the engine off for at least a few hours. I asked a mechanic to look at it after a few months after I had first heard it, because it continued to happen, even periodically. As it only happened on cold startup, I could not reproduce it for the mechanic - he could not find any obvious issue. After a few more months, I recorded the issue on video (and audio). The same mechanic said it may be the VTC actuator. I had another mechanic look at the same video, and he said it was almost certainly the VTC actuator. He said Honda had recalled the vehicle because of the VTC actuator issue and sent me a link to a webpage with the information. It turns out it was only a technical bulletin rather than a recall. I called a Honda dealership and provided them information about the issue. They asked for my VIN and told me there was no recall after searching my VIN. After some discussion with them, wherein I referenced the technical bulletin and inquired if Honda would provide a replacement for the known issue, the representative said since it wasn't recalled, they could only diagnose and repair at full cost. After I continued to press the issue, she asked if I wanted the telephone number for Honda corporate, so I could send them my complaint. I have no yet taken my car in for repair, as the cost will be very expensive. I don't understand why Honda has not recalled the vehicles over this issue, given the fact that it is an issue they have admitted to, and it apparently is a potentially dangerous and life-threatening issue.

VTC Actuator Timing valve rattles at cold start on highway when going over 50-65mph engine rattles very hard and vehicle shakes to point have to pull over. Looked all over online and thousands of customers have same issue even lawsuits. Took to Middletown NY Honda and they say out of warranty and nothing they can do but pay $1500to replace a known faulty part that once replaced could happen again or cause catstrostapic engine damage. please make a recall

We are having repeat problems with the VTC Actuator. This was replaced in 2018 under warranty but has since recurred. Our car is now at the dealer with a diagnostic of timing chain, vtc actuator, and cam gear for a cost of 2100 dollars. It is no longer under warranty and the cost is being passed on to us. This complaint is all over the internet and it is a Honda defect. Please work to support consumers and issue a recall promptly. Honda needs to fix this issue. We also, like many other, burn through oil. It’s amazing how everyone is reporting the same issues in cold starts. (Rattles).

Honda CRV was purchased in New York in 2014 and has been registered in Texas since 2023. The car has approximately 76600 miles (substantially lower than 132,000 miles average mileage). According to Team Gillman Honda Dealership. The car has undergone severe rusting leading to coolant leak. I was asked to replace the radiator, hoses, welding of convertor and exhaust pipes. The bill exceeds 5000 USD/- (according to the dealer). Rooster car care has quoted a 6000 USD/- for similar fixes. So far, I have already spent 550 USD/- and the repairs have failed Honda did issue a recall for 564,000 Honda CRV's made between 2007-2011 driven in salt belt states. The contact owns a 2014 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 2 MPH and pulling out of a parking lot, the contact felt a bump underneath the vehicle. While inspecting around the vehicle, the contact became aware that the trailing arm had detached from the vehicle. The failure caused the tires to turn inward, causing damages underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that excessive rust and failure caused excessive damages underneath the vehicle, causing other parts of the body to start to detach. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V228000 (Structure); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 183,000.

My tailgate does not open in cold weather. It was been serviced by Honda several times. They said they fixed it and it still does not work so I cannot use my trunk at all in the winter. I have a disability and need to use my trunk for groceries and medical equipment. Now Honda says it is out of warranty and wants to charge me for something they never actually fixed (Garden State Honda). Please recall and permanently fix this, many people have the same issue.

The paint is suddenly peeling off the car in large pieces. This is occurring above the rear window. The paint is white and I've found numerous complaints of others experiencing the same issue with the Honda white paint. Honda states they will not cover this as it is no longer under warranty and there are no active recalls on this vehicle. When I asked if this was covered for the 2013 Honda CRV they would not answer but suggested I could 'submit a claim to the NHTSA to have my vehicle added'. This is the first Honda I've ever owned and have never seen this happen. Honda needs to be held responsible for this repair. No car that is garage kept should have the paint peeling off it. Please advise next steps.

THE TIRE GAUGE LIGHT WILL NOT RESET. I MADE SURE THE TIRES WERE INFLATED CORRECTLY. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC FOR A NORMAL BRAKE REPAIR. I ASKED HIM TO REST THE TIRE GAUGE. HE ADVISED ME THE GAUGE SENSORS ARE NOT WORKING ON ANY OF THE TIRES.

TIRE FAILURE - CONTINENTAL CROSS CONTACT LX 225/65/R17 WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH WITH MEAN TEMPERATURE OF 74 DEGREES AND MAX OF 84 THE TIRE BLEW OUT WITH NO APPARENT REASON TO DO SO. VERY CLEARLY THERE WERE DISTINCT FLAPS ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE TIRE THAT GAVE IN ADDITION TO THE FRONT SIDE. APPEARED AS IT THE WALL WEAKENED.

TAKATA RECALL. TIRE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AT 9:25 AM. NONE OF THE TIRES WERE UNDER INFLATED. AFTER CHECKING THE TIRES I RESET THE DEVICE. THE DIM LIGHTS ARE NOT EVEN USABLE. I DRIVE WITH THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ON. THE BRIGHTS ARE AS BRIGHT AS THE DIM LIGHTS ON EVERY OTHER CAR I HAVE OWNED. HONDA HAS NO FIX. I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE 2014 TO HAVE BETTER LIGHTS INSTALLED. THEY CAN'T EVEN DO THIS AT MY EXPENSE. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THE DARK.

NO MATTER HOW I SHIFT THE HEADLIGHTS OF MY CR-V, THEY ARE EITHER TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW IN VISIBILITY. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO FIND A HAPPY MEDIUM WHERE THE LOW BEAMS ARE JUST LOW ENOUGH TO THE ROAD AND CREATE A NICE FIELD OF VISION, ALONG WITH THE HIGH BEAMS BEING LOW ENOUGH TO SEE FAR AND NOT UP IN THE TREES. WHY DOES THIS CAR NOT HAVE TWO DIFFERENT BULBS FOR LOW AND HIGH BEAMS? THE LIGHTING IS UNRELIABLE AND I FEEL VERY UNSAFE AT NIGHT WHEN I AM DRIVING, ESPEICALLY ALONG ROADS THAT ARE NOT WELL-LIT.

THE LIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE NOT GOOD. VERY HARD TO SEE WITH AT NIGHT USING DIMS AND THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ARE ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. DON'T THINK THAT IT IS AN ADJUSTMENT OR ALIGNMENT PROBLEM, THINK IT IS A ENGINEERING PROBLEM IN THE DESIGN FOR THE WHOLE LIGHTING HOUSING AND USE OF BULBS. SOMETHING REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE! MY OLDER 2003 CR-V WITH HAZED OVER COVERS DID A BETTER JOB THAN THIS NEWER VEHICLE BY 11 YEARS!

The contact owns a 2014 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at 25-50 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact's son test-drove the vehicle and experienced the same failure. The contact attempted to depress the accelerator pedal and believed that there was no gasket on the fuel pump. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the dealer could not recreate the failure with the accelerator. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

I EXPERIENCED SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OF THE ENGINE TWICE OVER A 3 MONTH PERIOD. AFTER DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATE 140 MILLES I PULLED INTO A PARKING AREA. AFTER THE CAR STOPPED THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY REVED UP TO OVER 3000 RPM. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF THE KEY. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED THE CONDITIONS WERE SIMILAR WITH THE ENGINE REVING UP TO APPROXIMATELY 5000 RPM. IN BOTH CASES THE ENGINE REVED UP AFTER CAR WAS STOPPED AT THE END OF A LONG CONTINUOUS DRIVE. AT THE END OF THESE EVENTS I LOOKED DOWN AND VERIFIED THAT MY FOOT WAS DEFINITELY ON THE BRAKE. AFTER THE FIRST EVENT I HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY A RELIABLE MECHANIC AND NOTHING UNUSUAL WAS FOUND.

I WAS PULLING INTO MY PARKING SPACE AT WORK AT ABOUT 5 MILES AN HOUR. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED INTO THE BRICK WALL OF THE BUILDING ABOUT 10 FEET AWAY. FRONT END DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE HAD SUDDEN ACCELERATION. THE FIRST TIME I WAS PREPARING TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE BUT I WAS FURTHER AWAY FROM THE BUILDING. I STOMPED ON THE BRAKES REPEATEDLY AND WAS ABLE TO STOP JUST BEFORE HITTING ANYTHING.

2014 Honda CRV rattling noise upon cold start at 20,000 miles into owning vehicle. Dealership could not locate the problem nor witness the problem each time we reported this whenever we brought the car in for oil changes...Problem became progressively worse over the years. Now that the rattling is essentially heard every time the car is started, we have taken it in. We are told we need a "new engine" because we need a new VTC actuator. We are also told that the car is burning oil. The new engine costs $4800 (NJ). Will this solve the problem that obviously is a Honda defect? Will the new engine have VTC actuators that will not fall apart in 1 year?... Honda has known about this problem for YEARS!

THE A/C COMPRESSOR PULLEY BEARING SEAL IS BROKEN/BUSTED AND IS GRINDING CAUSING A BURNING SMELL. THE IDLER PULLEY BEARING SEAL IS BROKEN/BUSTED AND IS SQUEALING. ALL THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE IS UP TO DATE. THIS AUTOMOBILE IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND ALREADY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BASIC ENGINE COMPONENTS. SINCE MAY 27TH THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON EVERY 4-5 DAYS A WEEK. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED I UTILIZED THE MANUAL TO CALIBRATE THE SYSTEM, BUT THEN IT CAME ON AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY CHECKED ALL OF THE TIRES, CALIBRATED THE SYSTEM, AND STATED THAT EVERYTHING SEEMED OKAY. ANOTHER 5 DAYS LATER THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, THE RAN A CHECK THROUGH THE ENTIRE COMPUTER TIRE SYSTEM AND TEST DROVE IT, SO THEY SAY, BUT WHILE HEADING HOME THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON FOR THE FOURTH TIME. I AM SO SICK OF THIS. ITS VERY ANNOYING. THIS MALFUNCTION CAN BE SAFETY CONCERN IN THE LONG RUN. LEAVING FOR 4 HOUR VACATION DRIVE; AS WE WERE ABOUT 60 MILES FROM HOME THE TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM) LOW-TIRE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WE PROCEEDED TO PULL OFF AT A SAFE SPOT, EXAMINE THE TIRES, CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THE VACATION ENDED THERE AS WE TURNED AROUND AND CAME HOME BECAUSE WE CAN NO LONGER TRUST THIS VEHICLE. THE TPMS LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON SINCE DAY ONE! I ASKED FOR $0.00 INVOICE AS THERE ATTEMPT TO FIX THE ISSUE. THEY SAID WE CAN'T GIVE YOU INVOICE IF WE ARE NOT CHARGING YOU. NOW I WAS LIKE IT SHOULD NOT COME ON AGAIN AS THEY PERFORMED DIFFERENT RESET PROCEDURE, BUT IT COMES ON AGAIN (THIRD TIME) AFTER 500 OR 600 MILES. THIS TIME THEY CONTACT AMERICAN HONDA AND PERFORM ANOTHER RESET PROCEDURE AND KEEP CAR WITH THEM FOR A DAY TO INSPECT. THEY ALSO ISSUED $0.00 INVOICE. NOW I THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE FINE, BUT AGAIN I WAS WRONG. IT COMES ON (FORTH TIME). NOW THEY ARE SAYING IT'S "SOFTWARE ISSUE" AND AMERICAN HONDA IS WORKING ON IT. (DEC END OR JAN FIRST WEEK) THEY ALSO SAID HONDA IS REQUESTING TIME FRAME AND IT SHOULD BE DONE BY THE END OF JAN 2014. TODAY IS FEB 19 2014 AND ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED YET. I TRIED FOLLOW UP MY DEALER AND HONDA MANY TIMES AND THEY ARE KEEP SAYING SAME THING, WE ARE WORKING ON IT. VEHICLE GRINDS ON COLD STARTUP, EVERY SINGLE TIME. VEHICLE ALSO RATTLES ON ACCELERATION. TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD TIMING CHAIN AND VTC ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO THE TIME OF WELL OVER $2000. AFTER RESEARCH, I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH ALL 2014 HONDA CRVS BUT HONDA HAS REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM LEADS TO ENGINE FAILURE AND HONDA IS CONTINUING TO BUILD THESE VEHICLES WITH DEFECTIVE PARTS. THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN OUT DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. I AM ASKING THAT HONDA ESTABLISH A RECALL FOR THE VTC ACTUATOR AND TIMING CHAIN TO PREVENT RESULTING ENGINE DAMAGE FROM THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS.

ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE IN MY 2014 HONDA CR-V WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THE MORNING OF JANUARY 19, 2017. I PURCHASED THE CR-V NEW IN EARLY 2015. AT THE TIME OF THE ENGINE FIRE THERE WAS 49,585 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY WORK EVER COMPLETED ON THE CR-V WERE TIMELY OIL AND FILTER CHANGES, AND TIRE ROTATIONS. THERE WAS NOT ANY SUGGESTED OR REQUIRED WORK THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED. THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUAL WITH THE CAR, NO NOISES, NO ODORS, AND I WAS THE LAST PERSON TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THIS DAY. FORENSICS REPORT CONCLUDED THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IN AND AROUND THE FUEL SYSTEM. AT 8:50AM ON THURSDAY MORNING JANUARY 19, 2017 I LEFT MY HOME IN NJ TO TRAVEL TO WORK 14 MILES AWAY. IN LEAVING HOME THE CR-V STARTED NORMAL. I WAS ABOUT 10 MINUTES INTO THE TYPICAL 45 MINUTE DRIVE. I WAS DRIVING ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY. I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO ABOUT 10 MPH TO MERGE INTO ONE LANE. I NOTICED LIGHT WHITE SMOKE COMING IN FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VENT. I THEN NOTICED MORE GRAYISH SMOKE COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE HOOD. I PULLED OVER OFF THE HIGHWAY ONTO THE SHOULDER. THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUAL ON THE PANEL OF THE CAR, NO LIGHTS, NO GAUGES, THE TEMP WAS NORMAL. I CALLED 911 AT ABOUT 9:01AM. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD THE FIRE OUT IN ABOUT 12 MINUTES. THE CR-V OF COURSE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS.

THE ENGINE DOES NOT RESPOND (INTERMITTENTLY) TO THE THROTTLE. THIS MAKES FOR A VERY DICEY SITUATION WHEN TURNING ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP, E.G., A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEM, YOU HAVE TO QUICKLY LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND JUST AS QUICKLY APPLY PRESSURE TO THE PEDAL TO GET THE ENGINE TO RESPOND. DURING THESE EPISODES THE ENGINE IS JUST IDLING. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP WHICH PERFORMED DIAGNOSTICS. THE ANSWER WAS THE TYPICAL ONE THAT YOU RECEIVE FROM A DEALERSHIP: 'WE COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM". FROM POSTINGS ON THE INTERNET, THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR YEARS WITH HONDA VEHICLES. IN FACT A DEALERSHIP SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME THAT HIS BROTHER HAS A HONDA WHICH HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ALMOST FROM THE DAY HE PURCHASED IT. I'M NOT JUST IMAGINING THIS. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE THE THROTTLE BODY RELAY OR THE THROTTLE BODY ITSELF WHICH WOULD BE VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. THIS ISN'T JUST MY IMAGINATION AT WORK. BURNING RUBBER SMELL FROM BRAKES. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED WAS WHEN THE CAR WAS SIX MONTHS OLD AND AFTER A ROUGH WINTER IN NORTHEAST, DEALER INFORMED THAT SALT AND WATER MAY HAVE WASHED OFF PROTECTIVE BRAKE COATING, LUBRICANT....THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS RECURRED ON AT LEAST ANOTHER THREE OCCASIONS, IN SOME INSTANCES WITH OR WITHOUT HARSH WINTER CONDITIONS. THE FOUL RUBBER BURNING SMELL USUALLY GOES AWAY 10-15 MINUTES AFTER CAR COOLS OFF BUT THE PROBLEM HAS CERTAINLY PERSISTED. AFTER 12000 MILES NOTICED MINOR PULSATING WHEN BRAKING. PROBLEM GOT PERSISTENTLY WORSE WHERE ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR GOING DOWN HILL AT 65 MPH. TOOK IN TO DEALER WHO PERFORMED AN INSPECTION. THEY REPORTED FRONT BRAKE ROTORWARPING DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. ALL BRAKE PADS SHOWWEED MINIMAL WEAR. I STATED TO THE DEALER THAT I FELT THIS WAS NOT NORMAL. THEY TOLD ME TO CHANGE MY DRIVING HABITS. AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION THEY DECIDED TO COVER A PORTION OF THE COST BUT STATED NEXT TIME IT WOULD BE MY RESPONSIBILITY. THIS SHOULD NOT OCCUR SO EARLY ON.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AGO, A SIMILAR THING HAPPENED AFTER I APPLIED THE BRAKES, TURNED LEFT, THEN SLIGHT RIGHT TO PULL OFF THE ROAD TO PARK. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, ON FEBRUARY 16TH OR 17TH I STRUGGLED TO PUT MY SEATBELT ON. THIS WAS THE FIRST I HAD SEEN OF ANY ISSUES WITH MY SEATBELT. AS I INVESTIGATED FOR THAT I COULD SEE THAT BOTH THE SEATBELTS IN THE BACK HAD BEEN AFFECTED AND SO HAD THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT. I BOOKED AN APPOINTMENT WITH HONDA DEALERSHIP SCOTT ROBINSON IN TORRANCE AND WAS MET BY A VERY HOSTILE MEMBER OF STUFF WHO TOOK A LOOK AROUND MY CAR (NO TESTING OR INVESTIGATIONS) AND THEN QUOTED $1387 FOR PARTS AND $800 FOR LABOR. THE EMPLOYEE PROCEEDED, WITHOUT HAVING DONE ANY INVESTIGATIONS, THAT EITHER MY SON (REFERRING TO AUTISTIC BEHAVIORS) OR THE DOG DAMAGED MY SEATBELTS. I TOLD HIM NOT TO EQUATE AUTISM WITH VANDALISM, MY SON IS AUTISTIC BUT HE IS NOT A SAVAGE ALSO I CHALLENGE ANY HUMAN TO CHEW THROUGH SEATBELTS. THE EMPLOYEE THEN PROCEEDED TO CLAIM HE KNEW ALL ABOUT AUTISM AND COULD CRITICIZE AS HE PLEASED. I UNDERSTAND SCOTT ROBINSON ARE A PRIVATE DEALERSHIP BUT I WILL SAY THE BEHAVIOR OF THEIR STAFF IS APPALLING. I DECIDED IT WOULD BE BEST I TAKE MY CAR AND LEAVE AS I FELT THAT THE LACK OF INVESTIGATION AND IGNORING THE FACT THAT THERE IS A WARRANTY ON THE SEATBELTS TOPPED WITH INSULTING MY DISABLED SON WAS ENOUGH FOR ME TO BE THERE ANYMORE. I HOPE HONDA WILL HELP ME WITH THIS AND INVESTIGATE THE BELT FEED AS IT SEEMS THAT THE ISSUE IS INTERNAL RATHER THAN EXTERNAL. The contact owns a 2014 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30-40 MPH, the steering wheel would vibrate. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact initially notified the manufacturer of the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in a recall. The contact then notified the local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Honda C-RV. The contact stated that it was two components (upper control arm) that seemed to be a part of his steering, one on each side, that appeared to be rusted. The contact stated that he had no issues with his vehicle currently, but was concerned about his safety in the future since it is a part of the steering system. The contact stated that he contacted the dealer who advised him he would have to pay out of pocket to get his vehicle diagnosed and that there were no recalls concerning the vehicle or steering. The failure mileage was 40,000.

MILEAGE 20630. HAD JUST RETURNED HOME AND PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. SUDDEN STRONG ODOR OF RAW GASOLINE AND VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING. I FOUND A LARGE POOL OF GAS JUST AHEAD OF THE LEFT REAR WHEEL. I MOVED THE LEFT REAR SEAT TO EXPOSE THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING AND FOUND A POOL OF GAS AROUND THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK AT THE FUEL PUMP. I FOUND A HOLE HAD WORN THROUGH THE HARD PLASTIC FUEL LINE ABOUT 6 INCHES FROM THE PUMP CAUSED BY RUBBING ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE REAR SEAT METAL FRAME. I REPAIRED THE HOLED AREA OF THE FUEL LINE WITH THE PROPER HARD PLASTIC FUEL LINE REPAIR KIT.

The heat on the driver side blows cold air. The windshield on winter does not defrost completely due to cold air on that side it is the heater core that is blocked for the driver side. Passenger side has no issue with heat. I’ve been informed that this is a heater core issue and needs to be flushed and have build up removed on heater core. My vehicle has only 40,000 miles.

Driver side 's air vent heat vent is not working properly. During winter, the windshield is not fully warm and hard to do defrost. According to Honda, they recognized the issue of heator core and had issued a service bulletin about the issues of heater core problem to remove clogging. It should be recalled to fix the issue rather than making the owner replacing the expensive part. Thank you.

THE DRIVER SIDE HEAT VENT BLOWS OUT COLD AIR IN MY 2014 HONDA CRV. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO HONDA AND THEY HAVE NOT DONE A RECALL. I HAD MY TIRES ROTATED AND CAR SERVICED ON 6/21/19 AND ON 6/22/19 MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER DRIVING ONLY 2 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED MY TIRES AND ALL WERE AT 40LBS. I RESET THE TIRE PRESSURE CENSURE, AND A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS YET AGAIN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. SINCE THE DAY I PICKED UP THE NEW CR-V IT HAS HAD AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO CHANGE LANES IN TRAFFIC OR AVOID ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT OCCURS RANDOMLY, 3-4 TIMES A DAY. I WILL BE MOVING AT A MODERATE SPEED, 15 TO 40 MPH, AND WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR GENTLY, THE CAR SLOWS DOWN!! IF I PRESS HARDER, NOTHING HAPPENS FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN IT ACCELERATES RAPIDLY! THIS IS VERY DISCONCERTING. 1) The system is draining the battery while at rest. Have replaced battery 3 times, including last one several months ago. Dealership cannot fix. Safety: Getting stranded is a huge safety issue. 2) Car shimmies accelerating uphill. Dealer cannot seem to duplicate. Safety: Affects confidence while driving. 3) Tire pressure sensor is constantly firing off.

OUT OF THE BLUE, MY HONDA CR-V 2014 WON'T START, I HAVE TO JUMP IT, AND WENT TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE, GOT MY BATTERY CHECK OUT AND EVERYTHING LEVEL OF THE BATTERY CAME BACK NORMAL. LUCKY ME, IT WAS HAPPENED ON THE WEEKEND AND I HAD SOMEONE WHO HAPPENED TO BE AROUND AND HELP ME. I WAS SO AFRAID THAT IT COULD HAPPENED TO ME ANY TIME, SO I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW BATTERY. MAYBE THE CASHIER THINKING I HAD ENOUGH MONEY TO WASTE AND NOT WORRY ABOUT BURNING MY MONEY FOR UNNECESSARY THINGS. My Honda has had the front axle replaced twice and now the Honda Dealership is stating it needs to be replaced a third time. The Passenger side also had to have the knuckle or whatever replaced where the tire extends. I mostly drive my child to school and myself to work and or highway driving. I have own cars since I was 16, am now quite past that year and have never had to have the front axle replaced three (3) times?? Driving is very difficult but there is nothing I can do about it - the cost each time is close to 2K. Thanks

ITS LOUD ENOUGH TO SCARE PEDESTRIANS WALKING PAST WHEN I START IT IN PUBLIC PLACES (VERY EMBARRASSING). HONDA BULLETIN SAYS "ALL" 2014 HAVE A "DEFECTIVE" VTC ACTUATOR POSTED IN A 2016 BULLETIN. MY VEHICLE WAS STALLED IN THE EARLY MORNING OF JULY 17, 2019 IN A PARKING LOT AND TOWED TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP NEARBY. THE MECHANIC'S DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE VEHICLE STALL WAS CAUSED BY THE SHORTAGE OF ALL FUSES IN THE PRIMARY FUSE BOX DUE TO LEAKING OIL FROM THE TIMING CHAIN COVER OF THE ENGINE. MY ELDERLY MOTHER DIED IN A FIRE IN HER 2014 HONDA CR-V. THERE WERE NO WITNESSES TO THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE. THE CAR WAS FIRST SEEN WHEN FULLY ENGULFED BY FLAME, 10 TO 20 MINUTES AFTER MY MOTHER WAS SEEN GETTING INTO HER CAR. UNKNOWN IF SHE LET IT IDLE BEFORE DRIVING. SHE DROVE ABOUT 1200 FEET. HER CAR WAS FOUND IN WET IVY AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HER KEY WAS IN HER HAND, AND SHE WAS LEANING TOWARDS THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR, APPARENTLY TRYING TO ESCAPE THE FIRE. (BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ON A HILL, LEANING TOWARDS THE PASSENGER SIDE, FLAMES FROM BENEATH THE CAR WERE STRONGEST ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND WOULD HAVE BLOCKED HER EXIT. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS NOT COMPLETELY BURNED.) IT IS IMPROBABLE THAT THE IVY IGNITED BECAUSE IT WAS LATE FALL IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND THE WEATHER HAD BEEN VERY WET FOR DAYS. I BELIEVE THAT A FIRE IGNITED SOMEWHERE IN THE VEHICLE AND THIS FIRE CAUSED MY MOTHER TO GO OFF THE ROAD. AN AUTOPSY SHOWED SHE DIED OF SMOKE INHALATION AND BURNS. THE CAR WAS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH RECENT SERVICING. NO SIGNS OF RECENT OIL LEAKAGE IN GARAGE. WE HAVE LOCATED OTHER 2012-2014 CR-V FIRES THAT BEGAN SPONTANEOUSLY. HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE ( I RECORDED CALLS )SAID THEIR JOB IS TO FIX UNDER WARRANTY . BUT THEY HAVE NO FIX AND ONLY TRIED ONCE. I WAS TOLD NOT ALL DO IT, SOMETIMES REPLACING THE PART WILL FIX IT. I BECAME EXTREMELY ILL FROM THE OFFGASSING OF THE TOXIC CHEMICALS IN MY NEW CAR. IT MADE ME DIZZY, NAUSEOUS, DISORIENTED, SLEEPY & LETHARGIC, GAVE ME A HEADACHE AND CAUSED BURNING TO MY LIPS, FACE AND LUNGS. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO BREATHE. A 2012 ECOLOGY CENTER STUDY SHOWS THAT THERE ARE OVER 270 CHEMICALS IN A NEW CAR, 70 OF THEM TOXIC (FORMALDEHYDE, STYRENE, BENZENE, AND TOLUENE ARE KNOWN TO CAUSE BIRTH DEFECTS, ASTHMA, LEARNING DISORDERS, LEUKEMIA AND OTHER CANCERS) MY SYMPTOMS OF BREATHING DIFFICULTY, LETHARGY AND SLEEPINESS LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT THESE CHEMICALS POSE A HEALTH RISK FOR SIDS IN INFANTS. THE ECOLOGY CENTER AND AN ATTORNEY FOR SOMEONE WHO SUED TOYOTA FOR THIS SAME ISSUE SAID THAT MANY PEOPLE TOLD THEM THEY ALSO BECAME ILL FROM THE TOXINS IN THEIR NEW CARS. AMERICAN HONDA EVEN TOLD ME THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BECOME ILL FROM THE CHEMICALS. CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT BE EXPOSED TO THESE TOXINS. MANUFACTURERS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL PRODUCTS THAT POSE HEALTH RISKS. THEY SHOULD BE MADE TO DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION BEFORE SOMEONE BUYS A CAR. THE DEALER WOULDN'T REFUND. THEY PUT IN AN IONIZER, WHICH THEY SAID WOULD REMOVE THE CHEMICALS. WHEN I BREATHED IN THE AIR, AFTER THEY PUT IN THE IONIZER, IT BURNED MY LUNGS SO MUCH THAT I COULD BARELY BREATHE. MY LUNGS STILL HURT. THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOC, EPA, CALIF DEPT OF HEALTH AND JOHNS HOPKINS ALL REPORT THAT IONIZERS CREATE OZONE WHICH DAMAGES LUNGS, MAKES ANY CHEMICAL THAT IT COMES IN CONTACT WITH EVEN MORE VOLATILE AND CAN BE LETHAL. My 2014 CRV has 83,131 miles and I am a careful driver and like to keep my vehicle in top shape. The service done was replaced outer tie rod ends that were cracked and I could have lost control , replaced front lower control arms, replaced front struts, replaced rear sway bar bushings, reseal coolant passage housing , head gaskets, my vehicle could have quit in traffic. The top of my CRV has paint faded and gone to a white powder look. There are things that a car with low miles driven carefully and taken very good car of should not be happening. There should be recalls because there are issues with timing chains and fuel system. I am scared to drive it anymore. I won't stay loyal to Honda now and I am very disappointed that they know these issues and haven't attempted to fix them.

When I stopped and checked my vehicle I saw that the frame where the rear suspension arm is held was completely rusted and broken, the rear tire was about to completely detach from the vehicle and luckily I was able to stop without harming the health of my son and wife, after the incident I investigated and realized that it is a fairly common problem in multiple Honda CRV models of various years and so far no mechanic shop has wanted to repair my vehicle because they say that it is a major and very expensive repair, No warning lights came on before this happened and no one has wanted to inspect the vehicle, neither the dealer nor the insurance company, as they say this is not their problem but mine.

Purchased our 2014 CR-V [XXX], used one owner, 55301 mileage. Very little driving the next three years due to the pandemic. Summer of 2023 we were driving from Buffalo to [XXX] , first 30 miles, severe hesitation, amber lights on, until reaching 70mph. Hesitation stopped but lights stayed on. By August the TPMS indicator, malfunction indicator lamp and other lights came on, again. We reset according to the manual, but this was just the beginning of this process happening over and over again. During dealer testing Code PO 341 came up. Had it tested at another place before taking it to West Herr Honda and was told needed Timing chain replacement with VTC. This was done at a cost of $2232.06 with car mileage of 63159. We were sad and disappointed. Research shows that Honda is very much aware of over 500 plus recorded problems with the 2014 CR-V not to mention unreported problems. The model should be recalled before lives are lost. Car still hesitates but evidently due to a different problem. From the moment we drove off the lot, this car had had one issue after another, nearly cause me to lose my job because I couldn’t make it to work due to the car being busted. It was getting really bad MPGs, they said it’s fine. It started overheating, they said the coolant fans and radiator cap were what was wrong, for a long while now the Tire pressure management system has been ON, 24/7, my tires are not low. I bought new tires for the CRV. The mechanics don’t really seem interested in fixing anything.

There is a rattling noise coming from the engine area at extreme cold startups since I had the car at 24,000 miles on it. When having the car parked with the emergency brake on at an incline and after leaving it ther for a few days, after I press the release on the brake after starting the car, the emergency brake sticks and the car won't move forward when accelerating or backward when releasing the brakes or accelerating. I have to repeatedly press and release the emergency brake to allow the car to release the brake from the wheel for the car to move forward. There is repeatedly a build up of rust on the rear wheels when the car is exposed to humid and wet conditions due to some flaw in the design, and it causes the car the have a loud thumping noise when applying the breaks . I have had to get the rear brakes refinished or shaved down to smooth them out repeatedly.

The automatic transmission in the car causes the vehicle to shake and vibrate when accelerating. The faster the acceleration, the more violent the shaking.The problem seems to be when the car shifts from 3rd gear into the next higher gear(s). There is a significant, sometimes violent, shaking of the entire vehicle when shifting. The effect is that there is no confidence that the vehicle will shift according to the driver's expectations. This creates a situation where the driver can easily become distracted from nearby traffic situations, and easily cause a potentially dangerous consequence. Base on the history of Honda CRVs from 2012-2013 and earlier, this has been a common issue with Honda automatic transmissions in the past. This happens without prior warning (i.e. dashboard warning lights, messages, etc.)

The contact stated that the rear lift gate electrical mechanism in the handle was replaced; however, the failure recurred in cold weather. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the lift gate electrical mechanism a second time. The contact stated that the failure persisted in cold weather. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

I NOTICE THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMING ON INADVERTENTLY FOR NO REASON. WHY HAS NO ONE MADE HONDA ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. WE ALREADY HAVE A NEGLIGENT GM WITH THE CHEVY COBALT. DON'T LET HONDA GET AWAY WITH THE SAME THING. FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!! *TR

MY HONDA CRV WAS BROKEN INTO WHILE ON VACATION IN FLORIDA. I WAS ONLY ABOUT 300 FEET AWAY FROM THE CAR BUT WAS NOT NOTIFIED BY THE ALARM. I CAME BACK TO SEE GLASS ALL OVER THE FLOOR, MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS GONE FROM THE CAR. AS A PREVIOUS OWNER OF A NEWLY PURCHASED HONDA ODYSSEY, I FELT THAT THE CAR HAD ALARM AS THE KEY HAS REMOTE LOCK AND AND UNLOCK FUNCTIONS AND THE CAR EVEN SOUNDED A FAMILIAR ARMING SOUND WHEN REMOTELY LOCKED. WHEN I WENT INTO A DEALER IN FLORIDA TO INQUIRE WHY THE ALARM DID NOT WORK, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CAR HAD PASSIVE ALARM, WHICH MEANS THAT THE ALARM SHOULD SOUND IF THE GLASS IS BROKEN. UPON RETURNING TO NEW YORK, I WENT TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THEY TOLD ME THE CAR HAS NO ALARM, AND THAT THE FAMILIAR SOUND IS JUST TO INDICATE TO ME THAT ALL FOUR DOORS ARE LOCKED! AT NO TIME DURING THE SALES TRANSACTION WAS I TOLD THAT THE CAR HAS NO ALARM OR THAT I NEEDED TO PURCHASE AN ALARM. *TR

I BOUGHT AT 2014 CRV END OF SEPT/OCT OF 2013. UPON THE FIRST SNOW FALL I DROVE THE VEHICLE AND HAD IMMEDIATE PROBLEMS. THE CAR WAS NOT GETTING ANY TRACTION, IT WAS SLIDING AROUND GOING DOWN HILLS AND UPON TRYING TO DRIVE UP HILLS IT WOULD STOP WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO GO UP. IT WOULD STOP AND WHEELS WOULD SPIN, THE REAR END SPUN TO THE SIDE AND I COULD NOT GET ANYWHERE. THE AMBER AWD LIGHTS CAME ON AND FLASHED, COMBINATION OF BOTH SCENARIOS. I FINALLY GOT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AS THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE. THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAS BEEN DEEMED DEFECTIVE (OVERHEATING ISSUE TO POINT OF ALMOST GLOWING AND FLUID OVERHEATED). THE OTHER PROBLEM I HAVE HAD IS THAT IF THE CAR WAS PUT INTO 1ST OR 2ND GEAR TO AID SLOWING DOWN ON A HILL, EVEN FROM A STOPPED POSITION, IT WOULD NOT RESPOND. THE CAR SPED UP GOING DOWN THE HILL IN FIRST GEAR TO APPROXIMATELY 40MPH EVEN WITH THE BRAKE ON, WHICH WOULD NOT ENGAGE AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES WERE ENGAGING AND NOT EVEN TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CAR BEHAVED THE SAME EVEN IF ON FLAT GROUND THAT HAD EVEN A DUSTING OF SNOW OR EVEN A LITTLE GRAVEL. THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME A COURTESY 2014 SAME YEAR AS MINE, IT DROVE MUCH BETTER AND MUCH SAFER THAN MINE PERFORMED AFTER THE FIRST 2 DAYS. I FEEL THE CAR HAS MORE ISSUES THAN JUST THE DIFFERENTIAL AND IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD AS THE LAST 1-2 WEEKS THE CAR HAS HAD NO CONTROL IN ANYTHING OTHER THAN DRY ROADS. IT HAS ALMOST WRECKED MORE THAN ONCE DUE TO THESE ISSUES. THIS VEHICLE IS 3.5 MONTHS OLD AND HAD UNDER 10,000 MILES ON IT AND ALL OF THIS HAS GONE WRONG SINCE THE BEGINNING. *TR

ACCELERATING UP TO TRAVEL SPEED ON A HIGHWAY THE WHEELS START SHIMMING WE COULD NOT CONTROL THE CAR. TALKING TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THAT THEY WHERE AWARE OF THIS AND THAT SNOW & ICE CAN PACK INTO THE RIMS CAUSING THE WHEELS TO BE UNBALANCED. I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND DO NOT THINK ITS SAFE FOR ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY TO CLEAN THE WHEELS. *TR

I BOUGHT A NEW HONDA CRV 2014 MODEL ON 10/04/2013. ON 10/24/2013, I WORE FLIP FLOPS WHILE GOING TO PICK UP MY SON FROM THE SCHOOL, WHICH IS 5 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME. MY LEG GOT STUCK AND I COULDN'T MOVE MY LEG FROM GAS PEDAL TO APPLY BRAKES, AS I ENTERED THE SCHOOL PREMISES. CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE AS MY FLIP FLOP GOT STUCK IN THE GROOVE BETWEEN PLASTIC AND METAL TRIM NEXT TO THE GAS PEDAL. I SWERVE OF THE ROAD AND HIT A TREE TO AVOID COLLISION WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I THINK THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE WAY THE TRIM IS DESIGNED IN HONDA CRV 2014 MODELS. IF SOMEONE WEARING A FLIP FLOP?S WHILE DRIVING, IT CAN GET STUCK IN THE TRIM AND CAUSE FATAL ACCIDENTS. I DIDN?T SEE THIS ISSUE IN OLDER MODEL YEARS OF CRV. MY FAMILY IS TRAUMATIZED BY THE ACCIDENT AND VERY SCARED TO SIT OR TRAVEL IN THE CAR. I WAS FORTUNATE TO COME OUT OF IT WITHOUT ANY MAJOR INJURIES BUT THIS MAY NOT BE THE CASE FOR OTHERS. *TR
