I have a 2016 Honda CR-V. When temperatures are very cold, near and below freezing, the tailgate will not open until temperatures warm up or handwarmers are used for about 5 minutes or the use of heat from the hands eventually allows the tailgate to open. This is reported in Honda Bulletin 16-063. However, even after replacement of the tailgate opener switch by the dealer, the problem has reoccurred. No manual release exists. This can be safety issue when transporting children that require larger equipment, like strollers, or the elderly which requires wheelchairs. I went camping with the boys, and temperatures had fallen along with rain when we arrived at our campsite. It took a good 5-10 minutes using handwarmers for the tailgate to open and thus allowing the camping equipment and tents to be removed to be setup for the weekend. I believe this is a safety issue, because, what if an emergency had occurred and we had to pack and leave quickly. What if I was transporting a child or elderly person that required wheelchair that was needed right away. This issue with opening the tailgate does not occur when temperatures are warmer, or in very cold, thus I believe this to be a major design flaw that results in a safety issue.

Another problem that has been reported with the Honda CR-V and HR-V is poor paint quality. The paint may chip, fade, or peel prematurely, especially on exposed areas such as the hood and roof. This can be a cosmetic issue, but it can also lead to rusting and other damage. Went to the Honda in Valley Stream NY and was told by the service manager that because I did not have my car serviced at their dealership, they would not take care of the painting issue. When questioned why they stated that they have a "Good Will" policy which would have covered the paint defect had I serviced it there. When I purchased the vehicle, I was never informed of such a policy. ENGINE

Level for oil change was at 30%, took it in and it only had 2.5 quarts of oil. No indication I was low, no oil leak, and it affected the valves. Honda of Lisle said this is common issue with 4 cylinder models, yet there is no recall. Now I have to check my oil every week and add as needed, and will have an large bill to replace the engine. The vehicle has only 61,000 miles.

CVT complete transmission failure consistent with Service Bulletin 16-053 from Honda, dated September 9, 2016. I was not the owner of the car at this time, so a recall notice was never received by me. Currently, Transmission is being fully replaced at 94,000 miles at a cost of $5700. It is a safety issue, due to the car not being able to drive over 30mph, nearly stalling at traffic lights and stop signs. A rear end collision would be imminent.

MY 2016 HONDA CRV IS MAKING A RATTLING NOISE THAT SOUND LIKE ITS COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHEN I START THE CAR AND WHEN IM DRIVING IT. The contact owns a 2016 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle started to independently accelerate. The contact had taken her foot off the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle was still accelerating. The contact depressed the brake pedal; however, the vehicle was still accelerating. The contact had not observed any warning lights being illuminated. The contact entered a parking lot and depressed the brake pedal with force due to the vehicle independently accelerating. The contact was able to stop and shifted the vehicle into park(P). The contact observed that the vehicle was still revving, and the RPM was rising with the engine was revving. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle several times and was finally able to drive the vehicle under normal operating conditions. The contact stated that the failure had reoccurred. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while approaching a stoplight and decelerating, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally. During the failure, the battery warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failure mostly occurred on very hot or rainy days. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate that failure. The cause of the failure was not yet been determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. The VIN was not available.

I first noticed this issue in October of 2023. When approaching the passenger side of my 2016 fwd Honda Cr-v it would unlock without touching the door or the key fob. This caused my car to be left unlocked multiple times without noticing it which is a major safety concern. Additionally I would go to get in the driver's seat and before the car was on the seat adjusted itself to the full upright position. Those two issues paired with the battery dying 7 times in the 8 years I have had it makes me think the electric is failing and causing the battery to constantly run which drains it. One time when the battery was not working they said it was the starter and charged $700 to fix it yesterday this is still happening. Another time this left me in dangerous situation when returning from work travel to the airport over an hour from my home and my car not starting. I had to call a tow truck to get it jumped. I called a Honda service center and the person I spoke with had never heard of these issues before. There are no warning messages when this is happening. I do not have $1000 for them to look into it.

I have a 2016 Honda CRV. Approx 2 years ago several electrical problems started. 1. )Radio started turning on and off on its own. 2. ) Car locks would lock and unlock on their own. I will be sitting in car and the car would lock and unlock on its own approx 4-5 times and then stop. It would also happen when I would get out of the car and lock the door and as soon as I walked away I could hear it unlock again and it did not matter if I locked it on the door panel or use the key FOB. I thought at first maybe I am doing something wrong, but it has also happened to my husband multiple times. This could be a safety issue, not knowing if its locked or unlocked my child could open the door while I am driving. Also someone could get into my car. 3.) My car battery started losing juice frequently. I would have to jump it, and now this is happening approx every 6 weeks. 4.) The Key FOB also juices out frequently and I have had to replace it multiple times and batteries are not cheap. I have been stranded 4 times at night and I beleive it was a risk to my personal safety. I have taken it to a independent service for the locks but they could not duplicate and told me it would be expensive to check the electrical system to first see if there were any electrical recalls first. I have read all the complaints on your site and there are over 60 electrical complaints. Many in regards to the Car's Battery discharging. One person talked about the seat position would move on its own, another said their headlights would turn off and on. Although there are many different electrical complaints they are all electrical related and warrant an investigation. As a consumer it is very fustrating as the price for buying and fixing a car is expensive. I don't know what it takes to have a recall but I hope NHTSA does the right thing especially when people are losing faith in big companies/agencies. Thank you

The drivers side door unlocks on its own after I have locked the door and start walking away from the vehicle. It is not suppose to open until after I have grasped the handle to open it when it has been locked. I can hear it unlock when I am outside the vehicle and somewhere in the vicinity of 10 feet away from the vehicle. I can have it available for inspection at any time. This problem causes the battery to drain and the vehicle won't start. The dead battery has happened to me twice (once in an airport parking lot and once at home). I have researched this on the internet and it is a common problem for the vehicle (both the unlocking and subsequent draining of the battery). The safety issue is, if this were to happen in a situation where conditions were such that I couldn't get my car started and I needed to escape an assailant that's trying to do harm to me or other passengers (children) in my vehicle. Another scenario could be needing to be able to drive away from any dangerous situation (stuck in a desert in extreme heat, a forest fire, etc...). The list could be endless. You need to be able to start your car when necessary. It hasn't been inspected by a dealer but I have contacted them twice about this issue. I haven't had it inspected by anyone. Many people have had this same problem and the repair at dealer is roughly $700 dollars. I think they have to replace the door lock actuator. There were no warnings, messages or other symptoms before it first happened. The problem first happened in April/May of 2024.

The contact owns a 2016 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to start, causing the battery to be replaced several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed several times; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Spitzer Honda Euclid (915 E 200th St, Euclid, OH 44119); where it was diagnosed that the front driver's side outer door handle was experiencing an electrical short circuit; however, the part to do the repair was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.

My car has had trouble starting when sitting for long periods of time or in moderate heat. I've also noticed the gas per mile has decreased. The 2017 year of my car has a recall for the fuel pump. Mine is just one year earlier but my mechanic says it could also be the fuel pump. I have less than 80K miles on the car and I've seen that on the 2017-2022 years with the recall, this problem happens around the 75K-80K mile mark on the car. I think my 2016 should also be recalled for the fuel pump.

I was driving to work and all of the lights on my dash came on and the vehicle would not go over 15 mph. I had semis passing me trying to get my car back home. I had it towed to the nearest Honda dealership where all of my Hondas are repaired, John Hinderer in Heath, OH. They received the vehicle and called me to tell me that it was the high pressure fuel pump that was not working. I inquired if it would be covered under warranty and told me due to the age of the vehicle it was not under warranty, any longer even the the miles were very low. The vehicle is a 2016 but only has 32,170 miles on it. So, I asked how that could happen with a vehicle with so little miles, he did have an answer. He quoted me $1,800.00 to fix it, telling me that the part alone was $1,200.00. After I got off the phone with him I researched the part and found it on Honda's corporate website for $559.43. I sent him a text message showing the price that I found it for and sent a message to the dealership on line. I have yet to hear from them, but they still have my vehicle. I did a little more research this morning and found that certain 2016 CRVs have a recall for the Fuel Pump Module. It is NHTSA Recall Number 23v-858, but my VIN # is not listed with a recall. The 2016 CR-V was operating normally, when trying to accelerate from a stop at a stoplight the vehicle began to hesitate and would not accelerate at a normal or acceptable rate if I had needed to maneuver out of the way. the engine recovered briefly after that and allowed me to slowly accelerate to 45Mph when it repeated to hesitate and stop accelerating feeling like it was about to shut off. The check engine light along with others came on at this point. I was able to make it to a shop where they diagnosed fuel pump failure at 127,619 miles (we are the second owner buying the car from family so we know that it is the original fuel pump in the vehicle.

I was in a very low speed fender bender and hit the vehicle in front of me square in the tail end. The airbag needlessly deployed leaving me with a burn and disabled my vehicle. It was a collision that should have been driven away from after the exchange of information. Instead my vehicle which has very little damage required a tow truck die to the deployed airbag.

It was snowing day, I drove in a local road around 10mph. When facing with a curve, I hit the brake yet the snow cause the tail tilted to the curb. Three of the passenger side airbags exploded and no body damage was detected. I'm not sure if the speed was fast enough for the airbags to deployed.

The contact owned a 2016 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH and attempting to avoid colliding with a second vehicle the driver lost control of the steering and crashed into a utility pole. During the crash, the front end of the vehicle was severely damaged but the air bag partially deployed and did not protect the driver. The contact sustained back and neck injuries which later required medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed and towed away. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 158,000.

The vehicle has been diagnosed with transmission problem even though it has only 39835 miles and I'm the original owner. Yes, it could be available for inspection. So far, my issue seems to not be a risk yet, only that the problem is there. It would be a risk if problem gets worse. One can read about other CR-V owners issues on various sites. There is a rather lengthy list. My particular issue is a loud whining when I am trying to accelerate to 40 mph, then whining continues along with road noise and vibration. It was confirmed at an independent service center. It has not been inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance. There are no warning lamps or messages yet. It is a recurring issue every time I drive the vehicle

CVT Transmission while driving 55 or over starts changing to neutral then drive then reverse which jerks the heck out of you a continues. It also vibrates in park. Driving under 45mph it doesn’t happen. We were on the interstate and had to pull over. This is scary since I’m a single woman on the road. I have read that thousands of other owners of certain years with the CVT transmission have had the same problems. This should be a recall!!!

This safety issue was not revealed to me at purchase. Vehicle is a push button start and stop and does not have an electronic parking break. Vehicle can be turned off while in Drive, however the gear train does not remain engaged. INCIDENT: The car was moved by my husband who does not drive the car and is accustom to driving a keyed vehicle with ignition interlock. He is also hard of hearing and did not hear quite beeping. When he moved the vehicle driving the car to the inclined driveway, he turned car off using the push button without putting the car in PARK. The car remained motionless until he opened the door and got out. The car began to roll backwards where the door knocked him down and ran over his foot. My husband sustained minor injury. However the car continued to roll about 50 feet before colliding into a stand of trees before it was stopped. The car sustained significant rear end damage. This is a SAFETY issue. I called American Honda to report this issue. They claimed they knew nothing of the above stated design problem and suggested I take the vehicle into the dealership for a diagnostic. I did and Serra Honda of Brighton ran a diagnostic and reported :That the car can be turned off while in drive and that the car does not have any system that will prevent the car from moving if the car is not in Park. The car is operating as designed and will roll if not in park. My complaint #at American Honda is case #[XXX]. There are many reports on the internet concerning Honda CRV, Civic and Accord, for certain models and years that have this problem. - While driving, sudden smoke from the engine and burned rubber smell occurred. - Upon pulling over, the drive belt was atop the engine burned cut. - Diagnosis by an authorized Honda dealer revealed the water pump seized thereby snapping the drive belt. Mileage on vehicle 33,849. Summary: - The water pump seized suddenly with no warning. As a result, the drive belt/serpentine belt melted and snapped while driving. This occurred for no known or commonly seen reason at such low mileage. with absolutely no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to failure.

While driving at highway speeds almost a total loss of engine power occurred causing a safety issue. Five warning indicators lit at this time: Tire pressure monitoring system Malfunction indicator lamp (check engine) Vehicle stability assist warning Electric power steering warning This problem resulted in a Honda Dealer service replacement of the High Pressure Fuel Pump which cost me over $2800 and another $400 for a rental car. There was a recall for the 2017-2020 CRV for an identical(?) issue. This 2016 may have been a later manufacture and had the same fuel pump. A very reputable local garage examined the car and were unwilling to repair the CRV because they were quite familiar with the frequent and problematic Honda CRV high pressure fuel pump issues. It was Drellishak's Service in Rocky River Ohio.

This vehicle has intermiitent stalling when accelerating and has died in the middle of an intersection several times leaving me vulnerable to oncoming traffic. This has been happening on a daily occurence for months.

Oil stick smells heavily of gas, the engine which my car has is known to inject too fuel in the oil. I have had it checked at the honda dealership and was informed, it was normal that there is nothing wrong, however when I check my oil stick it is very apparent that there is gas in the oil compartment. (my dipping stick should not smell like my gas tank) I will be having a second dealership look at the oil tank again.

Upon moving into a parking spot, I slowed down, and suddenly the car surged unbelievably fast. I ran into a brick wall about 4 or 5 feet in front of the car. No other people were around, but certainly, I was at risk. This problem has happened to me in this 2016 CRV, and in another CRV, 2015. Twice in the 2015. The dealer has not reproduced the situation. It is intermittent. This first CRV happened around 15000 or 16000 miles. This car has around 44000 -45000 miles on it. Of course, the dealership says I had my foot on the gas. I DID NOT! Either of the 3 TIMES. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police insurance reps, etc. No one is interested in doing do. Certainly not Honda. I have found numerous examples on the internet of people experiencing the exact same thing. They describe exactly what happened to me. There is no warning whatsoever. I know Honda will do nothing, until it becomes impossible for Honda to ignore. In the meantime, I wonder how many people will have to be injured or worse. I am asking nothing from Honda. That is hopeless. I am going to junk the car. I cannot in good conscience sell it. I did sell the 20015 back to Honda, as they "assured" me it would be checked, and this was just an anomaly.

The contact stated while the wipers were being used to spray and wipe the windshield, or while defrosting the windshield the failure would not occur. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Was fine yesterday. Went out this morning and went to back up and realized I couldn’t see out the rear window. Looked and the entire window is shattered. Cracks on bottom and sides. Nobody touched the car overnight in my yard. Have to pay $250 to Safelite this Saturday.

I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN ON CITY STREETS WITH THE WIPERS AT ONE OF THE INTERMITTENT SETTING. WITHOUT WARNING, THE WIPERS DISENGAGED IN THE RESTING POSITION - STOPPED WORKING. I TRIED REPEATEDLY TO RESTART THE WIPERS, TURNING THEM OFF/ON, CHANGING THE INTERMITTENT SETTINGS, CHANGING FROM INTERMITTENT TO FULL SPEED, DIFFERENT SPEEDS, ETC. I EVEN TRIED USING THE WIPER FLUID TO SEE IF THAT WOULD ENGAGE THE WIPERS AGAIN - NOTHING WORKED. I TRIED REPEATEDLY OVER A 15 MINUTE PERIOD WITH NO RESULTS. THEN I TURNED OFF THE CAR, RESTARTED IT, AND THE WIPERS BEGAN WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN. (EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS UNDER FULL A WARRANTY, NO DEALERSHIP NOR AMERICAN HONDA WILL AUTHORIZE REPAIR BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN 'UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE MALFUNCTION'; IN OTHER WORDS, WHEN I TAKE IT IT, THE WIPERS ARE WORKING AGAIN AND THEY CAN'T/WON'T AUTHORIZE MORE DIAGNOSTIC WORK TO IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE PARKED ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WITH NO PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR WINDOW, IN MY DRIVEWAY .... FAR OFF THE STREET. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN OR TOUCHED SINCE IT WAS PARKED. FRIDAY MORNING WENT OUT TO MY VEHICLE AND REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. I WAS ON EDMUNDS AND APPARENTLY THIS SEEMS TO BE A HONDA ISSUE !!!!! I HAVE PICTURES OF THE REAR WINDOW. This isn't related to an accident. This issue is about the rear brakes on my 2016 Honda CR-V. I currently have only 22,275 miles approx. on this vehicle but I'm told that I need to replace the rear brakes for frozen calipers once again. The rear brakes and calipers first presented a problem in July 2018 when the rear brake pads and calipers were repaired due to being frozen and also a bent caliper pin. This was at 9879 miles. Now 4 years later I'm told that once again the calipers have frozen (22,275 miles) and they and the rear pads have to be fixed again. Is this a problem inherent to this vehicle alone or have you found other CR-V's with this isssue either just 2016's or all CR-V's?

I was driving on the Interstate when my car suddenly lost power and I was put in an unsafe position of trying to get my car into the emergency lane. The warning lamps flashed on the dash and in particular the engine light., The car dropped speed from 70 to 20 mph and would not accelerate. Upon trying to accelerate the engine made a loud noise and would not accelerate. I had it towed and the car corrected from limp mode but I still don’t know if it will reoccur. I’ve had it looked at by my dealer and was told the car went into limp mode but they said they couldn’t pinpoint why. my car is available to be inspected.

THE CABIN IS FILLING WITH ENGINE/FUEL FUMES. I PURCHASED 11/2016 AND BEGAN HAVING DEBILITATING HEADACHES, NAUSEA AND CHEST PAINS OFF AND ON IN 06/2017. I HAVE INCURRED A LOT OF EXPENSE GOING TO NEUROLOGISTS, CARDIOLOGISTS, OPTHAMOLOGISTS TO TRY AND DIAGNOSE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEMS. I WAS FINALLY TOLD IT WAS MIGRAINES. I HAVE NEVER BELIEVED THIS, AND THINK THEY JUST SETTLED ON THAT BECAUSE ALL OF THE MRI'S AND CT SCANS CAME UP CLEAN OR INCONCLUSIVE. AND THEY COULDN'T COME UP WITH ANYTHING ELSE. 2 DAYS AGO ON MY WAY TO WORK I WAS OVERCOME BY A WIERD SMELL AND SUDDENLY FELT VERY ILL. I MADE IT TO WORK AND STARTED LOOKING FOR ANY OTHER REPORTS OF PROBLEMS. ITS BEEN YEARS OF MISERY THAT HAD A SUDDEN ONSET AND DRASTICALLY AFFECTED MY QUALITY OF LIFE. CONTACTED HONDA, THEY SAY ACCORDING TO HONDA POLICY ONLY HONDA VEHICLES THAT CONSUMPT 1 QTR OIL PER 1000 MILE ARE CONSIDER ABNORMAL. SINCE MY CR-V CONSUMPT ABOUT 1 QTR PER 1500 MILE, HONDA SAY IT IS NORMAL AND WILL NOT HONORING THEIR WARRANTY.

Driving down the highway at around 60 mph and the hood became unlatched. Hood started to vibrate excessively. Hood had to be re-seated when it was safe to do so. - Hood latch/striker malfunctioned. Component is still on vehicle. Vehicle can be inspected if required. - Issue has not been reviewed with dealer or independent service center. However, there is a recall on other Honda vehicles for this issue. - Vehicle has not been inspected. - No warning lamps or messages were present at prior to or at time of failure.

THE TPMS TURNS ON ABOUT VERY THREE MONTHS. I NOTED THIS TO BE HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. I USUALLY HAVE TO STOP IN ORDER TO FIND OUT IF I HAVE A FLAT TIRE. IN ALL CASES IT WAS A FALSE ALARM THAT STAYS LIKE THAT UNTIL I TAKE IT TO BE LOOKED AT BY THE DEALER. THEY DO GET IT FIXED BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING OVER AND OVER, AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOT MUCH THEY CAN DO TO HAVE IT PERMANENTLY FIXED.

THIS VEHICLE HAS CONTINENTAL TIRES ON IT. THE FIRST SIDE WALL BLOW OUT OCCURRED AT ABOUT 16000 MILES. THIS TIRE WAS REPLACE BY ME AT MY COST. THE SECOND TIRE WAS A SIDEWALL BLOW OUT FROM THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE AT 40MPH. AFTER NOTING MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES I REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES AT MY COST. THE TIRE INFLATION WAS CHECKED BOTH TIMES BEFORE THE BLOW OUTS AND THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS GOOD. THESE TIRES ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ELECTRONIC TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS. CHECKING THE PRESSURE MANUALLY, THE TIRES HAD PROPER PRESSURE IN THEM. DEAR WOULD NOT REPLACE THE TIRES EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE FRENCH TIRES. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL BE IN A DIFFERENT POSITION THAN IT WAS WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE. THIS IS INTERMITTENT ISSUE AND HAPPENS MAYBE EVERY 3 OR 4TH TIME IN THE PAST YEAR. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AFTER ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL ADJUST FORWARD PUSHING THE DRIVER FORWARD TOWARDS THE STEERING WHEEL. Vehicle: 2016 Honda CR-V Mileage: ~133,120 miles Component: Driver-side seat belt retractor The driver-side seat belt retractor failed during normal use and became mechanically locked and unusable. There was no crash, no collision, no misuse, no airbag deployment, and no SRS warning light at the time of failure. This failure rendered the primary occupant restraint inoperable. I requested coverage under Honda’s Seat Belt Limited Warranty, which states that seat belts that fail to function properly during normal use are covered. Honda denied warranty coverage for the driver-side seat belt retractor based on internal component classification, not because the seat belt functioned properly. The warranty denial was final. I was informed that the failure would not be covered under the seat belt warranty and that any assistance would only be discretionary goodwill, not warranty coverage. I am submitting this complaint because a primary safety restraint failed without a triggering event, and warranty coverage was denied despite normal-use failure. I believe the consumer-facing warranty language does not clearly disclose that a seat belt can fail mechanically yet still be excluded from coverage based on internal classification

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the contact was advised to rub the seat belt mechanism with rubbing alcohol. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that he would receive a callback. The failure mileage was approximately 46,564.

2016 Honda CR-V’s smart locking system failed. The smart locking system caused the car battery to drain if it wasn’t driven within 24 hours. After numerous car battery replacements, a Honda auto repair replaced the door handle and repaired the smart locking system. If $639 was not paid for the needed repair, the car battery would drain and therefore the car would not function. After reaching out to Honda for a reimbursement, they declined. This is frustrating because I have researched online and several others have experienced this issue with their Honda CR-V. The issue simply happened one day and was not caused by a vehicle accident.

I have a 2016 Honda CRV EXL. I have been trying to find out information on why my locks are not working. Most of the time the back door locks and the hatch/rear tailgate do not unlock. The tailgate will unlock only when I touch the door but not with the key fob. Every time I have taken the car to be looked at it doesn't have the issue that they can find so I feel CRAZY! Then I drive home and again the locks will not lock or unlock so I have to reach in and unlock or lock them manually. I saw that there was an issue with 2007-2011 CRV's and a class action law suite. I just want my stupid car fixed.

VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A RESTAURANT, PLACED IN PARK AND TURNED OFF. IT WAS TURNED ONTO ACCESSORY MODE WITH THE ONLY RADIO PLAYING. WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF THE VEHICLE BEING IN ACCESSORY MODE, THE TOUCH SCREEN TURNED BLACK AND THE RADIO WENT SILENT. THE DOME LIGHTS CAME ON WHEN MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO TURN ACCESSORY MODE BACK ON, BUT THE TOUCH SCREEN AND RADIO WOULD NOT TURN ON. ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO START THE VEHICLES ENGINE, BUT WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE CAR WAS THEN JUMP STARTED SUCCESSFULLY. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR TESTING. THE BATTERY WAS TESTED (4 YEAR OLD ORIGINAL BATTER) AND STILL HAD SUBSTANTIAL LIFE REMAINING. NO OTHER TESTING WAS COMPLETED.

Once the vehicle was started, the vehicle jerked while depressing the accelerator pedal while driving at various speeds. There was no warning light illuminated. One day, several warning lights appeared on the instrument panel soon after starting the vehicle. VEHICLE WAS SITTING IDLE AT A STOP LIGHT, AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES AT SPEEDS RANGING FROM 25-50MPH. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHED, THEN WENT DARK, THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING WITH NO OTHER ISSUES IMMEDIATELY NOTED. I purchased Cooper Evolution Tour tires (DOT U92Y VN 1820, Size 225/65R17) on August 10, 2020. Since then, I've only put 16,000 miles on them. I've been consistently losing air and recently brought them into my dealer for inspection, and they located a bulge in the sidewall in all four of my tires. (I have pictures of each of the buldges as marked by the dealer.) They told me it was a manufacturer's defect and to contact Cooper Tires. Cooper Tires has a recall out for the same type of tire, only an earlier model, with the same exact defect: Recall No. 19T-024 on Cooper Evolution Tour DOT U9 40 1LT 3019. (Dated Dec. 2019.) When I contacted Cooper customer service, they said no recall for my model exists, and I'd have to get replacements under the warrantee, costing me an additional $350. If these tires have the same defect as the earlier model, they should be recalled immediately. I've been driving around on four bulging sidewalls and risking a crash as indicated by Recall No. 19T-024, all of which they recognized enough to recall their earlier model. Attached is the print out from the dealer with the estimate to replace the tires with my road hazard warrantee through them, and pictures of where they marked the sidewall bulges on each tire. While driving on my lunch hour on January 14,2025 on busy street my car slowed down almost to a complete stop and I lost power and acceleration. My engine light came on and I had to pull off the road at a very slow speed. It was almost like I lost power in my gas pedal. It was pretty scary because it was over the lunch hour and it was busy. This could have been bad had I not been on the right lane to be able to pull off to a side street. I was concerned about being rear ended due to my car slowing down so fast and I had very little acceleration when pushing on the gas pedal.

Smelled gasoline while driving but not sure of source. 10 min into drive fumes were very strong and then all light came on and engine shut down. A fire safety vehicle noticed fuel pouring out from under the vehicle. Because of the fuel spill the police came and called a tow truck. The car was towed to Firestone where they determined that the fuel line on top of gas tank was spilling fuel. I noticed the 2017 CRV Honda have a recall on this fuel supply and my car was a late 2016 model. They will not honor my vin number.

Later on Friday I got a call stating they did another diagnostic test and said cylinder 3 misfiring still and now it’s the fuel injector so Honda Company what is going on with the Honda engines? I know feel unsafe with this vehicle! I see there are numerous complaints about this issue! Also the mechanic had to press the accelerator hard to get it to go, I was doing that already too, press the brake check engine light would go off and come back on when you press the accelerator to go! Very DANGEROUS, I AM ASKING FOR A SAFETY RECALL

Car will shut off when still cold or at a complete stop and then when you press the gas to accelerate either the car will shut off and stall or will not go anywhere. Usually when that happens I put car in neutral and drive to go or put it on neutral rev it a few times then I can either drive or reverse. Already had this car serviced last year at the dealership was told faulty fuel injectors. Car drove good for about a year and now back to either stalls or doesn’t move. Really frustrating and a potential hazard especially when trying to make a left turn or right turn and stalls or doesn’t move.

IN LATE NOVEMBER/EARLY DECEMBER, I BEGAN TO SMELL GASOLINE FUMES IN THE CABIN OF MY 2016 HONDA CRV. ON FEBRUARY 10TH, THEY CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME THEY HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE AND I NEEDED TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE. ON FEBRUARY 21, I MET WITH THE DISTRICT MANGER WHO STATED THAT IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2016 HONDA CRVS BUT THERE IS NOT CURRENTLY A FIX.AFTER SPEAKING WITH HIS FIELD ENGINEER, THE DM SAID THEY CURRENTLY HAVE 46 CASES OF GASOLINE FUMES ENTERING THE PASSAGER CABIN. HONDA CORPORATE ALSO ADMITTED THAT THEY CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE FUMES BEING RELEASED INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN. LIA HONDA REPLACED THE CHARCOAL CANISTER IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIX THE RELEASE OF FUMES INTO THE VEHICLE. ON MARCH 18, THE FUMES RETURNED AFTER AN ATTEMPTED REPAIR. Title: Engine Defect – Excessive Oil Consumption and VTC Actuator Failure My 2016 Honda CR-V (purchased from Mohawk Honda, serviced at Rensselaer Honda) developed a serious engine defect after only about 25,000 miles. The vehicle began consuming excessive oil, and later the VTC actuator failed, causing severe loss of power during acceleration and uphill driving, creating unsafe conditions. Dealership confirmed: •Excessive oil consumption from stuck piston rings. •White smoke due to oil burning. •VTC actuator and timing damage. •EPR cleaning service failed to fix the issue. Despite evidence of a manufacturing defect, Honda denied goodwill assistance. The dealership also gave unsafe instructions (drive 1,000 miles with low oil), which worsened the damage. This defect causes loss of power while driving, which is a serious safety hazard. I request NHTSA investigate Honda’s handling of piston ring and VTC defects. The drivers and passenger smart door handles have failed this year. It caused parasitic battery drain over 3 days and the doors would unlock automatically just by walking within 5 feet of the car. I have disconnected them for now because 800 in parts only is rediculous. Very dissapointed the reliability of the 2016 CRV.

When the weather gets under 50F, the trunk will not unlock and will not open. It seems as if the actuator freezes. When the temperature is above 50F you can hear it click and unlock. This was an issue with 2011-2015 CRV and it is still an issue with 2016.

These cars have had this problem for years according to an independent Honda garage. Wife complained the car wouldn't accelerate when the accelerator pedal was mashed. I thought it was a mistake she had caused. A week or so later, I experienced the same issue. I mashed the gas, entered a 4 lane 45 mph street & the car wouldn't accelerate. With cars bearing down, I don't know what I did, but managed to finally get the car to move. I've taught defensive driver training, road raced in SCCA & have well over a million miles behind the wheel, NEVER have I had this occur before. I'd heard of unintended acceleration, but I had just experienced non-intended acceleration. I talked to 4 different Honda service writers at different dealers, none admitted being aware of this problem. After multiple occurrences of the same issue, I went into an independent Honda garage, started explaining what had happened. The owner's wife came out from behind her desk, picked up 1 of 5 boxes on the counter & said, "This is your problem & why we keep this many cause it's a common & frequent problem," The box contained an Accelerator Position Sensor. She explained it is a common problem with Honda vehicles equipped with these position sensors. I've reported this problem before & wrote a letter to Honda America. I haven't heard of a resolution to replace these defective electronic sensors. If someone with my experience is almost hit by oncoming vehicles due to these defective accelerator position sensors, I wonder how many people have been injured or killed because their Honda would not accelerate when needed. It is something NHTSA needs to investigate. Enlist independent garages to determine how much of a problem these sensors pose, dealerships are not viable responders As a result of this continuing problem, we wanted to get rid of the vehicle, had an opportunity to sell the vehicle & did.

I have submitted this complaint before. We sold the car rather than deal with a potential t-bone accident. When starting from a stop, as you would accelerate into a traffic lane the car without warning would suddenly act as if the key was turned off, ceasing to accelerate. Exiting our neighborhood onto a thoroughfare with typical 35-50 mph traffic, my wife & I both had frequent instances of this failure to accelerate or dead throttle response. With 50+ years of driving, 5 years of SCCA road racing, 5 years of teaching defensive driving, I'm still not sure what I've done to get the car to accelerate & avoid getting t-boned. Several Honda dealerships have acted as if this is an unknown situation/condition. Actually talked to 5 different Honda service writers who all denied that the problem existed. Went to an independent Honda garage who had 5 boxes of the offending part-Throttle Position Sensor-on their office counter. I was told it is a common problem, as evidenced by the number of TPS boxes they had. This is an extreme hazard & danger to anyone driving a Honda that uses this particular piece of hardware. I would urge a recall to force Honda to re-design this sensor to eliminate the potential non-acceleration issue.

MY FEET GET TANGLED BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND GAS. I HAD UNINTENDED ACCELERATION DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. I LIVED IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND RECENTLY MOVED TO A COLD WEATHER CLIMATE FOR WORK. IT IS COLD IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA AND I CANNOT OPEN MY TRUNK. I WAS A VICTIM OF A HEAD ON COLLISION ON 3/19/2020. I SUFFERED A BROKEN LEG AND NUMEROUS BRUISES AND CONTUSIONS AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION. I have had 3 close calls where i could have been in a serious accident..i have taken it to the Honda dealership 4 times (1st time was 25 days after buying it.waa told it was fixed. It happened 6 months later. Told it was fixed again, happened 6 months after that. Was told it was something different i took it to another mechanic in town for a second opinion and they told me the steering gearbox needed to be replaced entirely) they also told me the dealership who said it was fixed did not fix it they zip tied and shrink wrapped it to hold the wires together….

My steering jerks hard left and corrects it self it also excels been braking, cranking the wheel turns freely and the car is very unsafe to drive i can lose control of the vehicle. All emergency lights are on steering wheel light exclamation point tps light among other things.i was told the EPS systems isn't working the steering control module, steering rack and all sensors replaced honda dealership also let me know this has been a common problem with crv years 16,17,18 I have no recalls on my car presently. I also want to add my father has the same 2016 honda crv and his is failing as well. This repair is mandatory and is very expensive over 6 thousand dollars and honda is denying to call a recall for this issue. This is a major safety issue and should be brought to attention. I am very sure that are many. Many customers out there that have experienced the same thing, and that should be reimbursed for them. Selves having to pay thousands of dollars to repair their car. Unfortunately, my car is worth $9000. As it stands. That is over half the cost of the car.

While I was driving about 70 mph on highway, the car suddenly stopped responding to the gas paddle and I heard a noise from near the fuel tank. I was able to pull up to the side of the road and the check engine light was showing. I towed it to an Auto Repair shop in Modesto, CA and they found that the fuel pump has failed. So they replaced with an OEM part and upon examining, they found that the old fuel pump was in fact not working properly. I see that Honda has a recall for 2013-2016 CR-V relating to fuel pumps (2013-16 CR-V Fuel Pump Module Set/Assy Exp2 Stop Sale). Driver side and left back side airbags deployed while driving on the highway in the fast lane. No impact to the car occurred to lead this to happen. No damaged to the car occurred. No other vehicles were involved. Turned I hard turned the wheel and all left side window and driver seat airbags deployed. No warning or messages problem was seen prior to accident. Sustained a TBI as a result.

I parked the car and left it running. I exited the car and left the front door standing open. I unbuckled my children and helped my four year old out of the car. I went back to the driver's door, leaned in with my right knee on the seat, and took out the keys. My left leg was still on the ground outside the vehicle. After a few moments the car started rolling. I was dragged backwards down the driveway and into the street. I was able to brace myself between the door handle and the steering wheel, keeping the door from pushing shut and shoving my leg under the car. This also allowed me to maneuver my right leg off the driver's seat and slam on the brake. I managed to keep my leg from getting caught under the wheel, but it was an extremely near thing. As far as I know at the moment I only have bruising and scrapes/road burn. If I had leaned in with my left leg, been wearing sandals, or lacked upper body strength I would've been unable to stop myself from getting dragged under the car and run over. If my 6 year old had been a bit faster stepping out of the car he would've been knocked over by his door and potentially dragged under as well. We both could have been seriously injured or died if this had gone even slightly differently. I'm extremely lucky and extremely terrified.

I bought this car from Hillside Honda in Queens, NY in June 8th 2016. It was a floor model that I was told by the salesman I got a great deal on it and I found out later it wasn't true. Let me get to the point, I found out this car is a lemon car. From the frontal airbag to the engine, it's a complete nightmare. My focus is more on the engine itself. The vehicle vibrates too much, I keep this car well maintained. At 62,000 miles, I already changed the fuel pump, fuel injectors, spark plugs, ignition coil, the vehicle is still vibrating and dies while driving. I feel this is completely shocking. Never in my life in the last past decade, I never had any vehicle from 1993 to 2022 which I have this issue with. I reached out to many experienced mechanics, they all told me, this car wasn't built well. What else you need to change to make this car drivable. You can't use the AC on a hot summer, I regret every single day in my life buying a Honda. It was my dream car but I got a lemon. I need help because I'm stuck with this piece of work. I'm not willing to spend a dime more because I am the only owner who drives this vehicle since the day I bought it, I barely drive it because I want it to last long enough so I can enjoy my investment but as I said previously, at 62,000 the vehicle is completely useless. I found out from an OBD port sensor reporting that this vehicle was built with the wrong engine components, therefore it should be replaced. I want someone to conduct an investigation and take necessary action against Honda Motor Co. for what they've done to many consumers out there. I feel embarrassed to talk about this. I even overpaid for this junk and now I'm stuck with it. And I'm not the only one going through this.

Multiple times I have gone to pull out onto a road and the car has hesitated and actually stalled a few times almost causing me to be hit. Starting in 2021. Around 70,000 miles the Check Engine light came on saying Emission Control problem and went off. Around this time it all began. At 80,000 miles it would cycle on and off intermittently "check engine" and they told me it was the Catalytic Convertor which i replaced at over $2,000 dollars in cost.. I still have the issue. Honda is hiding a problem and there are articles saying its the O2 and MAF sensors. causing these issues and the software also. Talking to a local repair shop he said I was the third Honda CRV he has seen this month. Hesitation, Stalling, Clogged Catalytic Converters?? , Acceleration not happening when you step on the gas pedal. I am not alone with this problem.

I have been told that my front wheel hub bearings are going bad. My vehicle only has 31,000 miles on it and from what I understand, this issue should not occur until about 100,000 and is not an expensive repair. I did do some on-line researh, and Honda does seem to have an issue with this--although with a different model. I have contacted Honda and asked for some assistance--i.e., a free service at a dealer to determine exactly what the problem is, but they are not accepting any responsibility at this time. I am afraid that I will get stuck on the highway or it could cause an accident if the wheel is totally compromised.

I have a 2016 Honda CR-V. I few days ago, pulled into a parking spot, stopped my car and placed the gear into park. I was sitting in the parking spot for a few minutes while waiting to pick someone up when I hear a strange noise come from the car, not even a second later my car suddenly accelerated on its own without me pressing the gas pedal or touching anything. I was completely caught off guard. The car shot forward at such a rate of speed, so fast that it threw me back in my seat. I suddenly reached to grab the steering wheel, and tried to take control of the wheel, but the steering wheel would not turn, it was completely locked. I placed both feet on the brake pedal and pushed as hard as I could but the car would not stop. It was like the car suddenly had a mind of it's own and someone else was controlling it. It literally accelerated on it's own. I couldn't stop it or steer it, everything was disabled. My car jumped a curb and slammed into a pole. Upon the first impact, none of the airbags deployed even though my entire chest slammed the steering wheel, it was only when I hit the pole did the airbags deploy. I sustained injuries to my head, back, chest and hands. Witnesses at the scene quickly pulled me out of the car, closed my door and took me away from the car because it was leaking oil and fluids everywhere and they were afraid it would explode. The entire front end of my car was completely destroyed. Nobody else was hurt other than me, but it could've been much worse if someone was walking or standing in front of my car. The way it shot forward on it's own could've killed someone. There was no way to control the car. Police, fire and ambulance showed up to the scene. Witnesses took pictures of the damage both inside and outside my car. People at the scene said it was possibly the cars computer gone bad. When I looked back at the photos, I can see that my car was in park. Thankfully I had my seatbelt on so I survived it.

Rear backup camera failed after less than 5 years of very light use, I only have less than 9,000 miles in my vehicle. Backup camera is completely off, for example, wide angle is now displaying ground angle, normal angle is now out of alignment. I bought and replaced it with a brand new backup camera, but the problem persists that tells me that the problem is something else possibly related to the software if it wasn't hardware. This is potentially a safety hazard because I now have to turn my head to backup rather than using it together with my backup camera. I asked dealer to take a look, but they quoted me $605.00 for a potential fix, did not make a guarantee that the problem will be resolved. At first, the problem happen intermittently, but now seem to be permanent. I Google about this problem on the Internet, seem to happen to a lot of Honda vehicles, but there was never a clear solution as to what caused it. Attached a photo, wide angle view went to the ground instead, even normal angel view is completely out of rack and out of alignment.

This is an intermittent problem. The electric driver seat adjusts on its own--this vehicle does not have 1 or 2 position memory option. Several times when the car has been driven and parked (such as at a store, or overnight in the driveway) when returning to the vehicle the seat is in a different position, having moved itself completely forward. This has happened when the car is not running and is not in accessory mode. Yesterday while the car was running, but not yet moving, the seat adjusted itself completely forward, pinning my husband to the steering wheel. The pressure was so great that he could not breathe. It was extremely difficult for him to reach the seat adjustment button to free himself. This could have been a fatal incident if no one was nearby to assist. THIS IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE!! There were no warning lamps or messages displayed at any time indicating a problem of any kind. The vehicle has not yet been checked for this specific issue, however it had been through a routine service and dealer safety inspection one week prior to the incident. The dealer is unable to service the vehicle until 7/13/2021. I have an appointment scheduled for that day.

AT THAT TIME, I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 36 YEARS BOTH ON MAUI AND AS AN AIR FORCE OFFICER IN THE CONUS. IN ALL THAT TIME, I HAD NEVER DRIVEN RECKLESSLY OR EVEN SPED AS IS EVIDENCED BY MY DRIVING RECORD. THAT MORNING, MY VEHICLE HAD REPORTEDLY BEEN DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND ENDED UP FLIPPING OVER SEVERAL TIMES LEADING TO MY HOSPITALIZATION AND SURGERY FOR SPINAL FUSION. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE RESULTING CONCUSSION, I CAN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING FROM THE MORNING OF THE INCIDENT UNTIL WAKING UP IN THE ICU AFTER SURGERY, NOT EVEN DRIVING TO WORK. KNOWING THAT I WOULD NEVER PURPOSELY SPEED, I HIRED SOMEONE TO DOWNLOAD THE BLACK BOX DATA. TO MY SHOCK, IT SHOWED CONSTANT ACCELERATION, NO STEERING INPUTS, AND NO BRAKING INPUTS FOR AT LEAST FIVE SECONDS. THE ONLY REASON I'VE DECIDED TO PUT THIS OUT THERE NOW IS DUE TO THE PARALLELS I'VE READ ABOUT WITH TIGER WOODS' RECENT ACCIDENT. I DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE WHO HAS DRIVEN FOR DECADES WOULD EVER MISTAKE THE ACCELERATOR FOR THE BRAKE PEDAL. MOREOVER, IF THEY DID, THEIR INSTINCT WOULD BE TO QUICKLY RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR THEN BRAKE, DEFINITELY NOT TO CONTINUE TO FLOOR IT FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I WENT BACK TO COMPLAIN, THE SERVICE WRITER SAID, YOU NOW HAVE 11,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE WHY DID YOU WAIT SO LONG I SAID I'VE HAD OVER10 MAJOR BACK OPERATIONS AND MY WIFE IS THE MAIN DRIVER, SHE DOES NOT DRIVE AT 70 MPH, WHEN I DRIVE AT 70 MPH IT IS BECAUSE I HAVE TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC IN THE FAST LANE AND THE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING IS STILL PRESENT, THE SERVICE WRITER STARTED MAKING EXCUSES FOR NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM, NOW BEING A VIETNAM WAR VET AND I HAD A 60% HEARING LOST AT THE TIME, SO I TALK A LITTLE LOUD, I WENT OUT TO SIT IN MY CAR TO WAIT TO GET MY CAR FIXED, THE SERVICE MANAGER CAME OUT TO MY CAR AND BE-LITTLE ME, NOT REALIZING I'VE BEEN A CAR MECHANIC FOR 30 YEARS, HE SAID YOU CAN TAKE YOUR CAR WHERE EVER YOU WANT TO, BUT WE AT MANLY HONDA SANTA ROSA, CA. WILL NOT FIX YOUR CAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEN HE SAYS GET OFF THE PROPERTY AND DON'T COME BACK. I PAID TO HAVE THE TIRES BALANCED AGAIN AT A TIRE SHOP, THE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING IS STILL PRESENT !!!!!.

THE HEADLIGHTS TURN ON RANDOMLY AND OFF WHILE DRIVING IN FULL SUNLIGHT. THE LIGHTS HAVE COME ON WITHOUT INPUT WHILE THE CAR IS PARKED AND THE IGNITION IS OFF. AMERICAN HONDA HAS AUTHORIZED AND REPLACED BOTH THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE FUSE BOX IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO FURTHER WORK ON THIS VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. ONCE THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD IN THE MORNING WHEN I TRIED TO USE IT. IT WAS DRIVEN THE NIGHT BEFORE. THE LIGHTS HAVE TURNED THEMSELVES ON WITH NO INPUT FROM THE KEY FOB OR THE DRIVER WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED. MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE WITNESSED THE CAR DOING THIS. I HAVE MANY MP4 FILES DOCUMENTING THE HEADLIGHTS COMING ON AND GOING OFF AT RANDOM WHILE DRIVING. UNDER THE DESCRIPTION OF "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" I PUT THE REPORTED DATE TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT HAPPENS MOST EVERY TIME THAT I DRIVE THE CAR FOR ANY EXTENDED PERIOD OVER A FEW MILES.

THE VEHICLE VIBRATES VERY ROUGH WHEN IDLE IN DRIVE GEAR. SPECIFICALLY, THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN DRIVE GEAR AND ALL ACCESSORIES TURNED OFF AND WHEN THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE HAS REACHED ITS OPTIMUM (FULLY WARMED UP ENGINE). THE ISSUE GOES AWAY IF THE RPM IS RAISED (WHEN STATIONARY AND IN DRIVE GEAR) BY TURNING ON ANY ACCESSORY LIKE FAN OR REAR DEFROSTER ETC. THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE IN HONDA CR-V 2015 AND WAS ADMITTED AS "MODE 1 VIBRATIONS" BY HONDA. HONDA PUT OUT A FIX FOR CR-V 2015 BY TSB 15-046. A LOT OF HONDA 2016 CR-V INCLUDING MY VEHICLE IS SHOWING EXACTLY THE SAME SYMPTOMS BUT HONDA IS REFUSING TO PROVIDE A FIX FOR 2016 CR-V VIBRATION ISSUE CITING IT AS A "NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VEHICLE". THE EXCESSIVE VIBRATIONS DURING IDLE ARE CAUSING HEADACHES AND SIGNIFICANT JITTERS IN THE BODY DURING EXCESSIVE STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. ALSO, THE OWNERS OF THESE VIBRATING 2016 CR-VS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT LONGETIVITY OF TRANSMISSION MOUNTS, ENGINE MOUNTS AND OTHER MECHANICAL CONNECTIONS DUE TO THIS HIGH ENGINE VIBRATIONS.
