On October 7, 2025, I was driving to work. There was a steel metal plate of approximately 1 inch height lying flat on the roadway, presumably to cover up a pothole or other utility work. The steel metal plate was near an intersection where I was to be turning left. I was driving relatively slow as it was almost time to make the left turn, about 15-20 mph. When I was almost upon the steel metal plate my car braked to a complete stop because of the Collision Mitigation Braking System. The intense deceleration has had my back in pain all day, and my neck is slowly starting to hurt as well. I feel like I was in a car accident from how quickly my car came to a stop over what appeared to be the steel plate tripping the CMBS. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety was at risk due to the back and neck pain I am currently experiencing. If a car had been driving behind me, I would have almost certainly been rear ended which could have created further injury. This feature cannot be permanently disabled and needs to be able to be. It's an undue burden on the driver of the car to have to turn it off every time the car starts. I am concerned someone else will drive my car and not know to turn off that feature and they will be injured or in an accident.

The car just comes to a screeching halt because it detects a collision, even when there is no threat. Happens most often at night when passing a road signage above you.

The contact owned a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 48-50 MPH, the Collision Mitigation Braking System engaged while there was no other vehicles nearby and the contact sustained whiplash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure could be related to a crack on the passenger's side of the windshield. The vehicle was not repaired and was traded in. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

Steering sticky when driving car on road.
Sep 29, 2025
There are many complains online about the same issue from other car owners. All I want is for the dealer to repair at no cost to me. The car has less than 30K miles and it is driven only on city streets short distances. Below, the answer to the questions: 1-Steering Rack. Yes it is available for inspection 2-Sticky steering hard to control 3-Yes 4-Yes. Authorized Honda Dealer at Coconut Point, Estero Florida and Honda Corporate office in California knows about it too 5- No warning just a noise We firmly believe many vehicles may have this same issue. Regardless, it is clear that the part in my car is defective and should be replaced by the dealer at no cost to me. The age and mileage of the vehicle do not justify such a serious problem. Either the part was made with poor quality or it is defective. How can a steering rack fail at only 29,248 miles—what is it made of, plastic? This raises serious concerns about Honda Corporate and whether this is part of a broader scheme that should be investigated. My car is practically new and has been serviced exclusively at the same dealer where it was purchased brand new, without missing any of the recommended services ever. note: from the invoice attached you can see how expensive it is this repair

I am writing to express a serious safety concern regarding my Honda CR-V. I recently learned that Honda has recalled millions of vehicles due to a sticky steering issue, and while my specific vehicle is not listed in the current recall, I am experiencing similar symptoms. Most notably, I recently encountered a frightening incident in which the steering in my vehicle felt unusually resistant or "sticky." As I attempted to correct my course on the highway, the lack of smooth steering response caused me to oversteer into the shoulder, putting myself and others at risk. Thankfully, I was able to regain control, but this could have resulted in a serious accident. In addition to the stiffness, I have also noticed a clicking noise when turning the wheel, which seems to accompany or precede the sticky sensation. Given the known recall for this issue in other Honda vehicles, I strongly urge you to investigate whether this problem might extend beyond the current recall list. My concern is that other affected vehicles, including mine, may have been missed. I would appreciate it if a representative could assist me with this. This is clearly a serious safety concern, and I believe it deserves your immediate attention. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Dealer inspected my 2019 Honda CR-V on 12/18/2025 and informed me that 3 of my 4 fuel injectors need to be replaced. When the problem occurred, my safety was at risk, and others could have been put at risk because the vehicle stalled and smoke came out, indicating something was burning. I visited the dealer for this problem because they replaced the defective/recalled fuel pump in January 2025. The smell of gas, stalling, and smoke indicated fuel problems associated with the original fuel pump recall. No warning lamps or messages or any other symptoms of the issue before the failure. This came out of nowhere. I had the vehicle serviced by the same dealer for an oil change during the Thanksgiving week, and the dealer did not report any issues to me. Shockingly, my vehicle is not on the recall list, since this is obviously a HONDA DEFECT and nothing I did. The car has low mileage, only 26,000 miles, and fuel injectors failing with this low mileage is unheard of. Shame on HONDA for not fixing this for free and sticking their customers with a high repair bill since the car is out of the original warranty period, and an extended warranty was not put in place by HONDA for this VIN. I contacted the HONDA corporate office to open a reimbursement case, but they said it could take months for a decision because there are so many consumer complaints. Please open an investigation into the failing fuel injectors to make HONDA responsible for their defective cars.

My 2019 Honda CR-V EXL has all dash warning lights on, and the diagnostic code causing the issue is for fuel injectors. Upon my research this is a very, very common issue with this year model. It is an expensive one, at that. I was driving when all warning lights came on, and my car lost power in the middle of a busy highway and would not accelerate. The car sputtered and lost power and the warning lights all come on simultaneously. I could have had a wreck because of faulty manufacturer parts that because of the expense, Honda refuses to admit are the problem and replace for the safety of their customers. As for the fuel pump recall, every single time I call my local dealership, they tell me the fuel pump parts are on back order!! I just want the faulty manufacturer parts on my car that I pay for, FIXED.

On November 14, 2025 my 2019 Honda CR-V, which has 1.5 liter turbo engine, with 60,400 miles was diagnosed by Williamsburg Honda with oil dilution caused by the injectors. The mechanic wrote "engine is running rich, falied cyclinder A/F test in cylinder #2, random misfire detected in all cylinders...engine oil is fuel fouled due to failed fuel injector." On November 17, 2025, Williamsburg Honda replaced the injectors. On 3 February 2025, this vehicle had its fuel pump replaced pursuant to NHTSA 23V-858.

Injector failure
Nov 16, 2025
the vehicle took a long time to start, was shaking and all warning lamps were on the dashboard. I took it to a Honda dealer and the code was P0087 Fuel Rail pressure too low. There was a recall for the lower pressure fuel pump, so they replaced it, but they are also claiming that the high pressure fuel pump needs to be replaced and is not under a recall. I see there is a a recall for 2023-2025 models, but not my vehicle (2019). I will be stuck with a $2,000 repair.

Defective Body Control Module (BCM) required replacement after only 23,000 miles. It is not available for inspection as dealership disposed of it. This defective part prevented the vehicle from starting, and controls other systems. The dealership's mechanics diagnosed that this BCM part was the cause preventing the vehicle from starting. This failure occurred without warning. This part was recalled for the 2019 Honda Insight, Honda Accord and Honda Accord Hybrid, and apparently for some 2019 Honda CR-V models (recall 20V771000), but we received no notice.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact believed that the failure was associated with an unknown recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the vehicle was diagnosed that the body control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 23,000.

The battery dies of unknown causes and goes to 0 when parked and not in use. Body control module (BCM) was diagnosed as the potential problem by Honda dealer. But even after the brand new BCM module was installed (after lengthy procurement time), the problem is still not fixed. The battery dies completely - same as before. There is no pro-active warning sign of this issue. I believe Honda has recalled BCM in other models but they should do the same for CRVs too. What are we to do if the engine suddenly stops running due to 0 battery charge in a distant location (and god forbid while we are driving on the road). Appreciate your attention to this issue. Thank you.

Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact purchased the vehicle from a dealer. The contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased the bill of sales and the odometer indicated that the mileage was 74,460. The contact stated that the vehicle broke down immediately after the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with several undisclosed failures. The contact stated that the Carfax report indicated that on 12/09/2023, the vehicle was serviced, and the odometer indicated the mileage was 199,300. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. In addition, the contact stated that the dealer declined her phone calls.

I would like to file a claim for defective paint. The Obsidian Blue Pearl paint on my vehicle is defective, and most significantly is peeling off, diminishing the value and exposing the vehicle to conditions that will cause rust. Honda has issued extended warranties for defective paint, but my vehicle does not fall under one of the already issues extended warranties. I was told to file a complaint with you.

Without warning, my 2019 Honda CRV has repeatedly gone into limp mode, basically, immediately reducing speed to approximately 7 miles per hour. When this occurs, dash is lit up with numerous warning lights. My vehicle requires towing. This has occurred 4 times since May 20th, 2024. The reading has been consistent each time I have had it repaired; cylinder 3 misfire. I have taken my vehicle 3 times to a local mechanic and Clawson Honda, a dealer, the last time;July 29th. There is no warning this will occur. The safety issues are obvious. With the vehicle abruptly, basically, stopping, not only are passengers and drivers in my vehicle in eminent danger, but other drivers who may be trailing behind. I have had extensive conversations with Honda representatives. My vehicle was part of a recall soon after we purchased it. The recall information indicated a software issue that was identified as the same problem that is now happening with our vehicle. I believe there is a potential high risk issue with Honda software. There are numerous makes and models, according to my research, that have been recently recalled for similar issues. As per following questions; this occurred four times: May 20, 2024 October 4, 2024 January 1, 2025 July 29, 2025

The front windshield on my vehicle was cracked on four different occassions. Three times when a small stone/gravel hit the winshield while driving. And once while parked outside. My safety was at risk because while driving i was startled when the object hit the windshield and i immediately focused my eyes on the damage when my attention should have been keeping my eyes on the road at all times. Each time i filed a claim with my insurance company. In my opinion i believe the glass does not meet or nearly meet industry standards. Further, I'm retired and do not drive my vehicle every day or long distances. Also, the cracked windshields were replaced with Honda windshields. Finally, i fail to believe I am that unlucky to have had my windshield replaced four times within six years.

I have Honda 2019 CRV and didn’t get alert my head gasket is shot. No notice on my car overheating or any alert. Smoke coming from my car and Honda didn’t alert me. There is class action lawsuit against Honda right now about head gasket failure in my Honda 2019 crv. This rare issue for Honda CRV and should be investigated for recall!

As i was driving on the highway, and with no warning my engine just shut off. Without any warning ligts or anything. Car then started back up and was able to pull off the highway when again this time the engine light came on and then just seized. And would not turn back over. Luckily traffic was not moving very fast on the highway or a serious accident could have happened due to the engine shutting down. Vehicle has been in shop for 2 months and was just returned to me, with a lot of the engine having to be replaced.

Today: The vehicle flashed the BRAKE warning light and suddenly decelerated/braked. There were no vehicles in front of the car for as far as the eye could see, it is a sunny day with dry conditions, and it was on an open highway that was flat, middle of the day, and the car was traveling 50 MPH. Fortunately, no vehicles were behind me. The BRAKE warning light has flashed on multiple occasions prior, without any trigger whatsoever, but it has only decelerated/braked a couple of times, and today’s was the worst and most jarring.

My car has about 35,000 miles on it but while I was driving it, I could hear a loud, deep pumping noise coming from the lower front driver's side area. I noticed that when I accelerated from driving at a low speed (25mph) on a small residential road and then accelerated to a higher mph on a faster highway, the pumping noise would start and would make this constant loud deep pumping noise near the lower front side of my driver's seat. I could still hear the pumping noise even as I pressed the brake pedal to slow down the speed of my car. The deep loud pumping noise would temporarily stop only when I had pressed the brake pedal to a complete stop e.g. red traffic light or yielding to oncoming traffic. However, the deep pumping noise would continue to start all over again once I continued to drive from my momentary stop position on the road/highway. My family member (retired RN) tested my car and said she noticed the same noise too but she also noticed that the car would make that constant pumping noise even AFTER parking the car, turning the car off, and removing the car key! She noticed that would happen after driving the car for more than 10 miles or so. She told me to have the car checked at a certified Honda dealer, because I could be in or cause a big accident if the car fails on the road. So, I took my car to TripleJ Honda-Guam and the staff said the pumping noise is due to a faulty "brake booster" and would charge me $2,000 to repair/replace it. Because the car mileage is only 35,000, I checked NHTSA website and there are brake booster recalls for other Honda models but not this 2019 Honda CRV, yet. I also checked other websites and found that there are many other 2018-2019 Honda CRV owners with the very same brake booster problem. I honestly believe that there are tens of thousands (or more) unknowing Honda CRV owners who have this very same brake booster problem, paid Honda to replace it, but they haven't reported their brake booster problems to NHTSA.

We turned the vehicle on and the brake lights went off. On 8/22/2024 I was driving on the service road at 45-50 mph when I noticed the traffic light ahead changing to amber I began to slow down, however; when I pressed the brake pedal there was a loud griding sound. The contact owned a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH he experienced a syncope before the crash, and the vehicle struck a telephone pole head-on. The air bags in the vehicle deployed all except the rear driver side. The contact and the rear driver-side passenger were transported to the hospital by an ambulance. The contact had a broken left hand, 3 broken ribs, seatbelt injury, partial lumbar herniation, and left shin was bruised and had an open wound. The front passenger left the scene and did not receive medical treatment until the following day, they suffered a broken right wrist. The rear passenger sustained a broken spine, massive internal injuries that required emergency surgery, and a bruised kidney however she succumbed to her injuries 3 weeks later. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the Impound lot. The insurance company towed the vehicle and deemed it totaled. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. The VIN was unavailable.

When the car turns on, the message of “passenger air bag off”. I weigh over 100 pounds and sit properly. When the car was under warranty, I took the car to the dealer for this air bag problem. After waiting over 3 hours, I was told to come back and the part was not available. I thought there was a switch to turn on air bags, but I left the dealer in Avondale, AZ and went home. The problem continues.

ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

To Whom It May Concern, While driving my 2019 Honda CR-V AWD EX, multiple warning lights suddenly illuminated on the dashboard, including the Check Engine Light, VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), TPMS, and Collision Mitigation System. This has occurred multiple times and appears to be a well-documented issue among other Honda CR-V owners. The dealer diagnosed a faulty fuel injector system (Code P0172 – System Too Rich) and recommended a full injector replacement. This issue matches known cases addressed under Honda TSB 19-072, but is not currently covered under a full recall. The sudden illumination of all warning lights, combined with reduced power, is a serious safety concern as it may cause loss of control or delayed response in critical traffic situations. We have been quoted between $1,200 and $2,500 to repair this issue, which is a significant expense for a defect Honda is already aware of. I believe this is a manufacturing defect that should be fully covered by Honda, along with any related systems affected by this issue. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this widespread defect affecting 2017–2019 CR-V models and issue a recall. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards,

I was traveling on the highway when suddenly my car started shuddering and slowing down. It was heavy traffic and difficult to navigate to the right shoulder, and my car was nearly hit by a semi-truck. The engine was misfiring and the engine light blinking yellow. I was able to turn off and restart my car and make it home. The mechanic initially thought the issue was old spark plugs and ignition coils. Replacing them didn’t help. I was again on a highway when the issue happened again. I brought the car to the dealership and they said the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. I spent over $2k to replace them on 7/7/25. The problem hasn’t happened since.

Honda is not completing this recall in a reasonable manner, and despite claiming parts are available they are not. After two years of delays, and now threats that our registration will be not renewed if we do not perform the recall, Honda still does not have the parts. Furthermore, they want you to bring in the car, have it inspected, after which they will decide if they want to replace the part. The inspection is being done because the fuel pump may crack due to poor manufacturing practices; however, after an inspection they will not actually fix the defective part if they do not find a crack. This will surely result in failures later when the defective part eventually fails. In their process, some time after the inspection and after some time ordering it and receiving it, they will replace it, at their discretion. This is wholly absurd, and I encourage you to actually force Honda to perform this recall and replace these parts in a timely manner. Two years is more than enough time to produce 700,000 fuel pumps.

I was driving in I-694 to dealer for a scheduled oil change when all of the warning lights came on at once and I lost ability to accelerate. This was frightening and dangerous. I was surrounded by many vehicles, including semis. There were no advanced warnings. The dealer diagnosed turbo and engine failure. I brought the vehicle to an independent mechanic for a second opinion, and he stated that there was a large quantity of fuel in the engine oil. I had brought my vehicle to the Honda dealer for maintenance over the prior three year period, and was never advised that I needed to check the turbo, that it could fail, or that I needed more frequent oil changes. I have since discovered that Honda is aware of this engine defect that causes fuel to mix with the oil, which then can cause premature engine failure, but they refuse to fix it.

I have contacted my local Honda dealer about this issue months ago and the recall and they said they did not have parts available yet. I have always kept my maintenance up since I bought it new. On the way home the other night all of a sudden my turbo charger blew and took out my catalytic converter along with it. I was told this was a $8000 repair!!!! It only has 135,000 on the car. I have read and spoke to many people that stated that the fuel pump issues can cause this! I am so upset by all of this. I should not have to pay for this NOR is this safe!

VISIBILITY/WIPER

The driver sun visor will not stay in the fully closed position. This creates a visibility problem for the driver. Also, with the resting position of the failed visor, if i were in an accident or sudden stop, the edge of the visor would impact the drivers head causing injury. The failed part is not covered under any warranty by the manufacturer and repair costs several hundred dollars. There are several examples online of other buyers of the same vehicle model experiencing the safety issue.
Oct 19, 2024
The driver side visor will not remain in the full upright position. When driving the vehicle I have hit my head several times due to the visor falling to a 45 degree position instead of remaining in the flat against the headliner. This requires constant adjustment while driving by moving to the side window, or moving back to the front windshield to avoid constant nuisance while driving. We have hit our head on the visor MANY times looking for traffic at a stop sign or when merging. After taking the vehicle for services, this issue has been brought up to several service personnel at the dealer and stated the owner is responsible for this common defect. There are numerous issues listed on the complaint list that have been reported. Just yesterday, I spotted a CRV of simmilar year model in costco parking lot, and stopped to look in the vehicle to notice that they had a loose driver side visor hanging down about 3-4 inches as well. This shows that this is very common. The replacment part is in excess of $150 to replace, and there are numorous comments about replacing this part due to same reason only to encounter the same result after a few months of use. Since this has become such a nuisance for the driver and a safety issue of constantly adjusting to ensure a clear field of view driving, we have opted to just remove the visor knowing that the replacement will likely be a waste of time and money to only encounter the same issues again at a later date. It is disappointing to see that Honda is not taken serious concern for the customers encountering this issue that is such a common safety distraction and nuisance to the drivers of these year model CRV's. I read reports that have been entered from a 2018-2020 for more than a dozen vehicles just on here that have reported the issue. This visor is a vehicle safety feature that the customer should not have to remove in efforts to minimize safety risks that are more often a nuisance than assisting in safety and visibility.

While coming home from a restaurant, all kinds of warnings were displayed on the screen. Then as I got in front of my house, my brakes and transmission locked up preventing the car from moving. I had it towed to the Honda dealer and after inspection I was told the wires in the harness leading to the rear view mirror were loose and caused the electrical system in my vehicle to malfunction. I had no idea why this happened as neither my wife or I ever touched those wires. I was told the repair would cost $3,650 and would not be covered by the extended warranty I had purchased when I bought the car new. I did go ahead and authorize the repair, but was not happy about it. The service advisor said this had happened before on other Honda vehicles. This is a major safety defect that could cause accidents.

I experienced a concerning incident while driving recently, and I would like to bring attention to several issues with my vehicle. Firstly, while turning onto a main street at a speed of 35mph, my vehicle's automatic emergency braking system unexpectedly activated, despite there being no obstruction in front, beside, or behind me. This occurred at a green light as I approached the beginning of the intersection. Additionally, I have been facing multiple problems with my stereo, including glitches, turning off unexpectedly, and the brightness becoming engaged and freezing. I had previously reported these issues to the dealership within the first two years of purchasing my vehicle in 2019. However, the technicians only unplugged and replugged the stereo, assuring me it would be "good." I’m still currently dealing with the problem of the stereo glitches in 2024. Given these concerns, I am worried about the possibility of future issues arising and the potential for a collision due to my vehicle stopping itself randomly while driving. As a responsible driver with a family to consider, I kindly request immediate assistance in resolving these matters. To address the specific questions: 1. The component or system that failed or malfunctioned is the automatic emergency braking system. 2. Yes, the vehicle and its components are available for inspection upon request. 3. The safety of both myself and others was put at risk due to the sudden activation of the automatic emergency braking system. 4. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. 5. The vehicle and its components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. 6. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure of the automatic emergency braking system.

On Wednesday, [XXX], the sunroof glass of my 2019 Honda Cr-V Ex spontaneously exploded while driving on the highway. There was a startling loud sound that rendered me shocked while driving! It caused me to take my eyes off the road to look around my vehicle and in the rear-view mirror to see what had happened. Nothing hit the vehicle! Luckily, there were no other vehicles nor pedestrians nearby. I maintained staying in my lane, but I was completely distracted by the sound, this could have been dangerous! Also luckily, the interior sunroof shade was closed or I'd have been showered in broken glass. The service manager at the dealer I called, Greensboro Honda, said "I'm not going to lie, I have heard of this happening before". There are many reports of this happening online and, according to news station reports, an NHTSA investigation that was closed in 2021 citing that it “has not identified sufficient evidence of a safety-related defect in the subject sunroof.” On the same day the incident occurred, my vehicle was inspected by the Service employees of Honda of Greensboro, NC. They refused to fix the problem b/c the 'Area Manager", against the recommendation of the 'Service Manager', stated that "something must have hit the vehicle". I repeatedly insisted that nothing hit the vehicle. I have filed a claim with Nationwide Insurance. Greensboro of Honda did take photos and they taped the hole in the sunroof at no charge which was kind yet suspicious since I bought this 'Certified Pre-owned" vehicle at Leith Honda of Aberdeen. The Greensboro Honda dealership is not owned by Leith. Twice, once by phone message and once via email, I requested the email, denying the issue be fixed by Honda, between the 'Service Manager' and the 'Area Manager' at Greensboro Honda be forwarded to me, to no avail. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Note: the shape of the fractured glass hole look almost identical to others. The paint under the rear hatch at the top where the roof meets the rear is gone and rust is already coming thru. I have reached out to Honda Corporation of America as well as Hendrick Honda in Concord, NC where I purchased the vehicle, however both have refused to help me. The paint under the rear tailgate at the top is gone and surface rust has already started to come thru. Honda has had issues with several models of CRV’s with different model years resulting in recalls. This model is having the same issue. The owners manual does show a 5 year warranty no mileage for surface rust if it is a “ lack of craftsmanship “ but Honda is not wanting to stand behind this. I leased this vehicle new and bought it last year as a “certified pre owned “ which was supposed to start the new vehicle warranty over. Vehicle has never been in an accident. I know of at least one other person at my workplace with the same issue with his CRV.

I took the car to get serviced 3 times because the battery was being drained and it left me stranded on the side of the road . I had to look up the technical service bulletin myself before the dealership would update the software on the car. It should have been recalled back in 2019 when they knew about the problem. it left my elderly mother stranded 3 times and it took me having to figure it out myself to fix the problem. the problem was the peristaltic drain on the battery when you set the parking brake after turning the car off which caused the car to not start.

UNKNOWN , Rubber seal in the sunroof ripped when I opened it, causing it to make little holes, after the car has sat in dealership lot for a while. I bought the car used so that is the reason the sunroof has not been opened for a long time as it was just in the dealership lot. This could possibly cause water to leak inside of the car.

For the 4th time in a year and a half, my CR-V has failed to start. I've had it in for dealership servicing twice on this issue and even replaced the battery at their recommendation. It did not fix the problem and they have since told me that they can't identify the problem and said it could be with the computer system (I did purchase an additional warranty for the computer system). In addition to the car failing to start and needing a jump start, the dashboard will start beeping and go blank, or flash a warning message that does not fit the situation. I consider this situation to be a safety issue as it leaves me without a reliable car for travel due to the uncertainty of being able to start the car. The latest episode was today and it was 88 degrees out and I had my 91 yr old father and my dog with me. Waiting for assistance in the heat was very hard on them. My father felt sick due to the long exposure to heat.

When passengers are sitting in the rear seats, the driver side shoulder belt crosses the buckle of the center passenger's belt. This makes the center belt difficult to release in an emergency. I want to report an unsafe situation regarding the rear seat, seat-belt latches on the 2019 Honda CR-V (and from what I can tell on the internet, for several other model years). The rear seat center and left side seat-belt latch receivers have been installed incorrectly. The setup causes the left side latch to be installed over top of the anchor portion of the middle seat latch. This results in the need to twist one or both belts in order to latch the belts. This setup results in a potentially unsafe situation when seating three passengers in the rear seat. Honda advertises the CR-V as a 5 passenger vehicle, not a 4 passenger vehicle! Btw, I used the date I purchased the vehicle as the "incident" date.

At approximately 33,188 miles, an “AWD System Problem” warning appeared on the instrument cluster of my 2019 Honda CR‑V AWD. Darrell Waltrip Honda in Nashville, TN scanned the vehicle and retrieved DTC C1851‑1E, which indicates a rear differential pump motor high‑current fault. The dealer misinterpreted this code and advised that the AWD control unit (Part No. 48310‑5TG‑H52) needed replacement, but stated the vehicle was safe to drive so repairs could be completed at my home dealership in Lexington, KY. At Don Jacobs Honda in Lexington, KY, the same DTC C1851‑1E was correctly interpreted as a failure of the rear differential pump motor, which was then replaced under warranty. No AWD control unit replacement was required. Honda Service Bulletin 23‑031 (“AWD Light ON: DTC C1851‑1E / DTC C1851‑18 Stored”) documents this rear differential pump motor issue for 2020–2021 CR‑V AWD models. My vehicle is a 2019 CR‑V AWD with the same DTC and failure mode, suggesting that this defect is not limited to 2020–2021 model years. I am submitting this complaint so that NHTSA is aware of this similar failure on a 2019 vehicle and can evaluate whether the affected model‑year range should be expanded.

Me and my wife called the office again on Monday 7/22/2024 11:15 AM, to reiterate the dangerous incident which occurred two days ago. However, Service Manager was away from the office, after a few minutes, the Assistant Manager responded immediately, recommended us to bring in to have a thorough Checkup. Also we stated that we have been calling the office regarding the FUEL INJECTION PUMP RECALL (since 12/28/2023 regarding Engine Fuel Injection Pump Replacement), for more than 5 times according to our record. The responses were no parts available until August 3X, then delayed till September 2X, recently said till this fall 2024. Having said that, if the incident happened again, while our whole family, my daughter and two grandchildren all on our favorite HONDA SUV, if a semi-truck was behind us on [XXX] that day, a crash accident would have been fatal the whole family and Daughter and two Grandkids。After HMGD completed checkup from 7/24 to 7/25, stated the Technician and HQTR still could not identify any RECALL related issue. A little over two weeks ago we took our 2019 Honda CRV to the dealership because all the indicator lights were lighting up on the dashboard. It started as I was sitting in the car with the car idling as I waited for my husband to come out of the store. We took a short video of what it was doing. The car was at the dealership the next day, but there were no indicator lights like the previous day. We shared the video with the service rep. When we picked it up we were told the fuel injectors needed to be replaced and it would cost in excess of $2,300. The car has less than 78,000 miles on it. The service rep said that if it was his car he would not drive it a distance (freeway) with this problem. That says to me that it is a safety issue. We had been concerned that it could be an electrical issue because the car was in a front-end, side-swipe collision in November 2023, and we had just gotten it back from repairs at the dealership two weeks before the indicator lights problem. The service rep assured us it was not an electrical problem. I looked up the problem on the internet. On [XXX] there were a number of other Honda CRV owners with the same problem at about the same mileage. Our safety is at risk with possible risk to friends and family because we need to drive on the freeway for daily activities. We took it to an independent automotive service location. They did not come to the same conclusion; the indicator lights were no longer on. This vehicle component has not been inspected by any others, other than already mentioned. Yesterday, my car was working fine. This afternoon October 1, 2024, when I turned on the engine I saw a prompt “CMBS problem” on the screen. Warning signs/lamps lit up as well, 1. Adaptive control cruise problem, Road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation system problem, and auto high beam problem. I have not contacted the dealership about this current issue because I plan to go to the dealership to do my oil change this coming Saturday 10/05/2024. Just an FYI, they still haven’t addressed my recall ( the 2017-22 fuel pump mtr saf recall exp2). At this time, no injury happened, but I am definitely scared of my safety using my car.

Warning lights kept cycling thru and dinging every half second. Took it to dealer and it is a faulty front camera in the windshield. They said they see it all the time and immediately diagnosed it. Said it is a faulty design and costs ~$1,700.

When driving on the interstate with assisted cruise control and lane assist, my car has twice braked very hard when no hazards were in sight. Once, it almost came to a complete stop and had the car behind me been closer their would have been an accident - this was summer of 2021. The second time, it braked, I turned off cruise and tapped the brake and it corrected itself. In both cases, this could have been a very dangerous situation that put myself and others at risk. I thought it was happening because my windshield had been replaced and recalibrated. I had that checked twice and they found no issue with the calibration. I realized it could be a greater issue when I saw the news report on investigation of this happening on other 2019 Honda CRV's. I have not taken it to the shop yet. There were no prior warnings.
Feb 24, 2022
During driving, all warning lights flashed on the dashboard suddenly. Reverse car caused it to have lost power, stall. Regular maintained with low mileage. Dealer rest something but did not explain what were the exact causes. I am afraid it would happen again to cause dangers.

My safety has been put at risk using these Bridgestone Ecopia (235/60R/18) tires. They were purchased in 2024 and after a little more than a year and 14,000K miles the front tires are wearing unevenly with little tread left and in need of replacement. There are two (2) known recalls and eight (8) consumer complaints about these tires (see attached). I am seeking reimbursement towards replacement tires I have complained to Honda (where tires were purchased) and the Better Business as well.

The indirect TPMS system on my 2019 Honda CRV is a safety hazard. The TPMS alert light stays on all the time, even when all tires are properly inflated, when all tires are the manufacturers recommended size, and all tires have adequate tread to meet all safety regulations. The dealer acknowledges the system is poorly designed and was probably implemented because it is cheaper to manufacture than a direct TPMS system. The dealers have no remedy, therefore, Honda should be forced to recall the vehicles and make necessary changes to create an effective TPMS system.

A Honda 2019 CR-V EX 2WD was purchased in March of 2019 and came with OE Hankook Kinergy GT 235/60R18 H436 tires. The DOT# 5M3V1BH5018 (One tire) and 5M3V1BH5118 (Three tires). The vehicle was garage kept and most of the mileage driven was within the state of Tennessee. All four tires were rotated every 5,000 miles and balanced every 10,000 miles by the Honda dealership that sold the vehicle. A multi-point inspection was performed every 5,000 miles that included steering, braking, struts, and suspension components with no issues found. Tire pressure was monitored by both the owner and dealer during routine maintenance. Road noise began after the 12,000-mileage maintenance and could be seen as uneven tire treadwear. At 15,000 miles the dealership performed a four-wheel alignment to correct the problem, but the noise continued and became more pronounced at higher speeds. It became difficult to hold a conversation or listen to the radio without turning up the volume. By 23,000 miles it became apparent that the inside and outside tread on all four tires had become scalloped. The dealership confirmed the diagnosis and recommended new tires. They stated that continuing to drive with the cupped tire tread was not a safety issue. In contrary, most retail tire or automobile repair websites universally agree that driving with scalloped tires is dangerous. The decreased amount of tire tread to road contact causes reduced traction and increased braking distances, on wet driving surfaces and in emergency situations. The dealership service advisor also shared information that Hankook uses substandard material in the manufacturing of their OE tires leading to premature wear and possible failure. How does this tire justify a treadwear rating of 540 and mileage warranty of 70,000 miles when an entire set of four tires became useless and unsafe at 15,000 miles?

*This car was parked in the driveway 2 days without being driven before the following incident* ALSO- there are recalls for this make and model. Honda always said that the recalls do not include my car. Recalls should be expanded to include mine since the car is un drivable at the Honda service center. WHAT HAPPENED: Alarm went off on car in driveway. Horn constantly going off. Smoke came out around steering wheel and inside the vehicle filled with smoke. All lights came on dash. Gears were locked up and had to manually put in neutral to get on tow truck. Car is at Honda dealership in cumming GA. Said I needed steering wheel cable, srs unit, safety restraints unit, & brake boosters. They put parts on. Did same thing to them as it did in my driveway. Horn & smoke & all!! Now they say it needs steering wheel & the harness is on back order until August 28! and that my vin # is NOT on the recall but I believe it should be. This car could have caused a fire and was parked beside my house. My family and I were at risk and almost called police and fire department. Newborn baby, & other family members inside the home. Family members disconnected the battery because horn was so loud. All these repairs are headed towards $9000 & this is insane. This is my only vehicle. I must have transportation!

RECALL 19V-383 AFTER MANY MONTHS OF RESEARCH, DECIDED TO PURCHASE 2019 HONDA CRV FOR OUR 16 YEAR OLD SON IN APRIL. RECEIVED NOTIFICATION ON JULY 11, 2019 THAT THERE IS A RECALL THAT COULD CAUSE 'UNCOMMAND DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S AIRBAG.' THIS RECALL WAS FIRST ISSUED IN MAY 2019, HOWEVER HONDA DID NOT NOTIFY OWNERS UNTIL MID JULY. SINCE THIS IS A SERIOUS RECALL, I CALLED SEVERAL HONDA DEALERS IN CHARLOTTE RIGHT AWAY TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. I WAS TOLD BY EVERY SINGLE ONE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK FOR CURRENT CUSTOMER REPAIRS AND WILL NOT RECEIVE THEM UNTIL AUG/SEPT. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS THAT THEY ARE RECEIVING WEEKLY ARE ONLY FOR CURRENT INVENTORY ON THE LOT THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL. WHAT?! THIS DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE! I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DID NOT HAVE A LOT OF INFO ABOUT THIS RECALL, I WOULD HAVE TO CALL CORPORATE. CALLED HONDA CORPORATE AND WAS ASSIGNED A CLAIM NUMBER AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE RECEIVING A CALL IN 24 HOURS.... 4 DAYS LATER AND STILL NO CALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED NOW, I DO NOT WANT TO PUT MY 16 YEAR OLD SON (OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER) BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A CAR WHERE THE DRIVER AIRBAG COULD RANDOMLY DEPLOY AT ANY MOMENT. PRETTY DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF CONCERN HONDA IS SHOWING FOR THEIR CURRENT CUSTOMERS.

WHEN I GOT IN MY CAR AT WALMART AND STARTED THE ENGINE ALL THE SUDDEN THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNINGS COME ON THE DASH AND ALSO I COULD NIGHT SHIFT THE GEARS. I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR AT ALL AND HAD TO CALL A WRECKER TO COME TOW THE CAR TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS WRONG FOR MOST OF THE DAY. THEY THEN CALLED ME AND ASKED ME DID I NORMALLY HANG MY HANDICAP PLACARD ON THE REARVIEW MIRROR. I SAID YES THAT'S WHERE WE NORMALLY HANG OUT AND REMOVE IT BEFORE WE DRIVE IT EVERY TIME. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE HANDICAP PLACARD HAD DAMAGED THE CABLE ON THE BACK OF THE MIRROR AND HAD CAUSED THE BRAKE SYSTEM TO COMPLETELY FAIL AND THAT IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY PROBLEM. I HAD TO PAY $922 TO GET THE CAR FIXED. THE WIRING HARNESS IN THE ROOF OF THE CAR HAD TO BE REPLACED. WE WERE NOT EVEN AWARE THAT CABLE WAS BEHIND THE MIRROR. THE PROBLEM COULD'VE HAPPENED AT ANY POINT WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND I WOULD HAVE LOST ALL THE BRAKING SYSTEM FOR THE CAR IF IT HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN UP WITH HONDA AND OTHER CAR MAKERS AND HAVE A RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM SO THE HANDICAP PLACARD WILL NOT DESTROY THE CABLE. *TR

I’m writing to report a recurring and increasingly dangerous issue with the CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) in my vehicle. The problem began shortly after I purchased the car. The system would intermittently flash the word “BRAKE” and apply the brakes without any apparent reason. Initially, this was more of an annoyance, but it has since escalated into a serious safety concern. Most recently, while driving through an intersection with no vehicles in front or behind me, the system suddenly applied the brakes with significant force. This caused everything in the front seat to be thrown to the floor and forced me into the steering wheel. The weather was clear—no rain or sun glare—and there were no visible obstructions. Had there been a vehicle behind me, I believe a rear-end collision would have been likely due to the abrupt deceleration. I have brought the car to the dealership where I purchased it multiple times, but they were unable to replicate the issue and eventually asked me to stop bringing the vehicle in. I then tried a different dealership, but they also refused to investigate further since they couldn’t duplicate the problem. Even after disabling the CMBS system about a year after purchase, the issue has persisted. I’ve since learned that this issue is under investigation, and I want to formally express that I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. I am requesting a resolution to this matter as soon as possible. Please let me know the next steps or if any additional information is needed. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Three times the car braked automatically although there was no reason; traffic was consistent and there was no stop sign or stopped/slowing traffic. Several times (more than two/ less than six) the car auto corrected with lane assistance due to either shadows from telephone wires onto the road, or, pavement variations due to construction (on the interstate).

While driving the emergency brake system activates and brings my car to a complete stop. It happens intermittently. The most recent was during a trip the week of June 6,2022-it occurred approximately three times on our way home. Fortunately I saw the brake light flash and tapped the brake to avoid it from coming to a complete halt. We were traveling about 60mph! I even pulled off the road and turned the car off and back on again to see if that would help! Additionally I had to turn the lane keep assist off because it malfunctioned a few weeks ago-it kept trying to pull my car outside of the lane I was in-it acted as though I was drifting out of my lane. I almost lost control of the car.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

I am filing a complaint regarding a premature failure of the LED turn signal on my 2019 Honda CR-V at only 81,000 miles. The turn signal is a critical safety component, and its failure presents a serious risk of accidents due to decreased visibility to other drivers. Unlike traditional bulbs that can be easily replaced, Honda’s LED turn signals require replacing the entire headlight assembly at a cost of $1,200.00, which is an unnecessary and expensive repair for a basic safety feature. The failure of an LED component at this mileage suggests a defective part that should be investigated. Given that turn signals are an essential part of vehicle safety, I believe Honda should issue a recall or provide an extended warranty for this defect. Safety Concerns: •The LED turn signal failed unexpectedly, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of an accident. •Unlike traditional bulbs, the LED failure requires an expensive full headlight replacement, making it inaccessible for many drivers to afford repairs. Requested Action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue and consider issuing a recall or safety bulletin to ensure Honda takes responsibility for fixing this problem. This is a serious safety concern, and I believe it is unfair for consumers to bear the high cost of replacing an entire headlight assembly for what should be a long-lasting LED component. I appreciate your time and consideration in reviewing this matter. Please let me know if any additional information is needed.

The turn signals rapidly flicker on & off when the CRV is parked, engine off and continued off for hours. The turn signals flicker intermittently all night every night. I informed American Honda and Headquarter Honda in Clermont, FL the symptoms exactly mirrored the symptoms of a known questionable Body Control Module that is used throughout their product line up and involved in a huge existing recall. I have a video I would like to share of the flickering lights.

ON FEBRUARY 29, 2020, I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT A NEARBY PARK AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. I BEGAN TO APPLY THE BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR. AS I APPLIED THE BRAKE, THE CAR RAPIDLY ACCELERATED WITH SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE STEERING COLUMN. I CONTINUED TO PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR, BUT IT CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I STEERED THE CAR AWAY FROM A SMALL LAKE BUT SMASHED INTO A PINE TREE. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND THE SEATBELT WORKED. I RECEIVED TRAUMA TO THE CHEST BY THE AIRBAG. I WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR EVALUATION AND THEN RELEASED THE NEXT DAY. THE STATE TROOPER CONFIRMED THAT THE ENGINE WAS REVVING WHEN HE RESTARTED IT. THIS HONDA CRV RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY, 2019 CONCERNING A PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING HARNESS AND STEERING COLUMN. THE PARTS DID NOT COME UNTIL SEPTEMBER, 2019 AND I THEN BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR THE REPAIR. THE PARTS WERE REPLACED. FIVE MONTHS LATER THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED WITH ONLY 6,800 MILES ON THE CAR. I WENT TO SPEAK WITH THE MANAGER AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE INCIDENT AND HIS ATTITUDE WAS POLITE BUT TOTALLY INDIFFERENT. HE INDICATED THAT THE DEALERSHIP ONLY SELLS CARS, BUT HE DID NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY THAT THE DEALERSHIP ALSO DID THE REPAIR ON THIS RECALL. I LEFT THERE WITH NO SATISFACTION AT ALL. THE HONDA CRV 2019 IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION AS TO THE CAUSE OF THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM. THIS WAS MY FIRST HONDA AND MY LAST.

MY FAMILY EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE EPISODES OF SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WITH A NEW CAR PURCHASED ON 01/31/2020. THE CURRENT MILEAGE OF THE CAR IN JULY 2020 IS ABOUT 3,000. WE EXPERIENCED ABOUT 7 EPISODES IN MAY AND JUNE. ON ONE DAY, THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. MOST OF TIMES THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP SIGN. ON ONE OCCASION, THIS HAPPENED AFTER I HAD THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. IN ALL CASES I KNOW MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. OUR CAR HAS WEATHER MATS, AND IT IS NOT INTERFERING WITH THE OPERATION OF BRAKE OR ACCELERATION PEDALS. IN ALL THESE EVENTS MY WIFE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND KNEW I DID NOT PUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATION PEDAL. WE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH TOYOTA 2004 SIENNA AND 2011 CAMRY IN THE PAST. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN ISSUE WITH MODERN CARS. BUT NO CAR MANUFACTURER ADMITS THAT THE ISSUE EVEN EXISTS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT MAY REQUIRE A MAJOR DESIGN CHANGE ' THROTTLE BY WIRE, BRAKE BY WIRE, ETC. - TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I BELIEVE THE CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE IS THE FAILURE OF COMPUTER SOFTWARE USED TO CONTROL ALL COMPONENTS. I BELIEVE THE CAR MANUFACTURERS SHOULD INCLUDE A SAFETY IN THE SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING TO LOCK THE ACCELERATION WHEN BRAKE IS ENGAGED.

My 2019 Honda CR-V, which has the 1.5 liter turbo engine, with 78,000 started up with the dashboard lit up like a xmas tree and reported approx. a dozen faults of all safety features EPB, LKAS, Emissions, etc. It was diagnosed by Lester Glenn Honda in Wall, NJ with oil dilution caused by the leaky fuel injectors. The mechanic noted TDC P0172 - System Too Rich & P0301- cylinder 1 misfire and all fuel injectors failed A/F test. This vehicle had its fuel pump replaced earlier this year pursuant to the Honda recall for this (wondering if related). The same underlying problem was subject to a safety recall for the 2017-2018 model years, but the defect was not included for my 2019 model year even though it's the same 1.5L Turbo motor and there are numerous complaints from customers on the same exact issue. I was quoted over $2300 since it was past the warranty period (8k miles past the extended 7/70k emissions warranty that would have covered this 100%). Not only is this premature failure of critical engine component making the engine run very rough with a sudden and severe loss of powers, it produces a safety hazard of a direct rear-end crash risk due to the inability to maintain a safe operating speed. This is a significant expense for a defect Honda is already aware of. I believe this is a manufacturing defect that should be fully covered by Honda, along with any related systems affected by this issue. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this widespread defect affecting 2017–2019 CR-V models and issue a recall. I have not had it repaired yet as I asked the dealer to contact Honda Corporate and ask for a goodwill/good faith warranty.

As I was attempting to quickly accelerate to merge onto the freeway my vehicle experienced extreme hesitation and engine misfires. All my dash warning lights were then illuminated. My vehicle nearly came to a stop. This nearly caused me to be rearended by vehicles on the freeway especially an 18-wheeler that was quickly approaching to my rear. I limped onto the side median where I stopped my vehicle turned it off and then restarted it. It restarted but all the warning lights were still illuminated. I managed to drive slowly to my dealership where my vehicle had just been around two weeks prior for a similar incident (only the one engine warning light was illuminated) where they replaced my fuel pump under recall. On my latest incident they did a diagnostic check, and it displayed DTC codes P0172, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0304, multiple cylinder misfires and fuel rail pressure too high. At their recommendation they replaced my fuel injector and spark plugs. My vehicle was 4 months and 8000 miles out of the extended Honda Care Warranty I had purchased when I bought my vehicle, so I had to pay for the repairs. Nearly 10 days later my vehicle was experiencing similar symptoms of hesitation and misfires upon rapid acceleration with all dash warning lights illuminated. I stopped and restarted my car drove it to an auto parts store where they ran a computer diagnostic check, and it showed random misfires and also this time it said i needed my PCM reprogrammed. I managed to reset the codes and now looking to sell my vehicle. I felt compelled to notify Honda corporate customer relations via email, not just for a reimbursement of payment but also for safety notification; they checked my VIN and was told since there was not a current campaign on that VIN and it was out of warranty so it's up to me to repair. I believe it is a safety issue affecting my model like it has affected others.

I have a 2019 Honda CRV, purchased new on Guam from Triple J Honda (Tamuning) on Jan 2020. As of May 2023, my car has about 32,000 miles but my car began having trouble starting [engine made sputtering(?) noises when turning the key] that morning. Then, while driving in traffic, the car had STALLED/STOPPED WORKING in the middle of rush hour (around 9AM) traffic!!! THANK the LORD, though, the traffic light had just turned red so all the other drivers were slowing down around me! I tried over & over again, but the car wouldn't start! So, the police had to stop/redirect traffic and also helped me push my car to a safe area. Almost all the warning signals on my dashboard were lit on, so I wasn't sure what caused the problem. The engine warning light was also on, so I had a towing company take my car home to replace with a new Honda battery. After placing a new Honda car battery (bought at Triple J Tamuning), it still had difficulty starting, made sputtering noises, and was drivable for only 2-3 feet, then it died again! I had to tow my car again but to Triple J Honda (Tamuning) to diagnose the problem. The service advisor told me that the reason why my car won't start is because "You have a major problem with your fuel pump." I researched online and found that 2018-2019 Honda CRV had safety recalls for the fuel pumps. So, I searched the nhtsa & owners.honda.com websites whether there's a safety recall for my car; but there's no recall showing based on my VIN. Is it true that more cars are being still being added or owners notified later about the safety recalls? This 2019 Honda CRV is the only car available to make deliveries/pick up some supplies for my (very small: me & my mom) family business. So, we really do need this car working reliably asap. If Triple J Honda says that I have to pay for the fuel pump replacement because there's no safety recall for my car's VIN, what can/should I do? How can I know or be notified whether my car will get a safety recall? Thank

SUSPENSION

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer to have the tires checked and was advised that both rear tires had abnormal wear on the inside treads. The contact had the tires replaced; however, the tire pressure warning light illuminated after approximately six months. The contact took the vehicle to a tire shop, and it was determined that both rear tires showed abnormal wear on the inside tread. The contact purchased two more tires. The contact stated that the tire shop stated that the rear suspension was the cause of the tire wear failures. The contact was informed that both rear tires were leaning at an angle while mounted on the hubs, and the dealer was unable to properly balance the tires. The contact had the tires replaced again, and the TPMS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a different tire shop, and the failure with the suspension was confirmed. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that there were no similar reports of premature wear of the rear tires. The contact stated that he was on the fourth set of rear tires on the vehicle. The contact stated that he had replaced the rear tires with other tire brands. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.

I started hearing a roaring noise coming from the tires of my 2019 Honda CRV, so I made an appointment and returned the car to the auto dealership, who pretended like they didn't hear anything or see anything. I went for a second opinion at another Honda dealer, who then stated my tires are cupping. This is the second set of tires to replace in less than 3 years! The first set that cam with the car where Hancock Kinergy Tires, only lasted 29K miles! Now am on the second set Perilli Scorpion Tires and her we go again at 30K miles and my tires need replacing. I am now being told the issue is with the Suspenion on the car. It must be fixed or else I will continue to replace tires every 30K miles. I live in the real world and I don't have money to fix a manufacture defect nor do I have money to keep buying tires every other year. Shame on Honda for not addressing the issue, especially when it has been brought to your attention! I should have bought a Hyundai!!

My wife was driving the Honda CRV (61k miles, 2019) through a parking lot when suddenly all kinds of buzzers and warning lights came on. There was no warning anything was wrong before this. All of the Driver Assist features read failures, none of the gauges worked, all of the dash was lit up like a Christmas Tree. Sufficed to say this freaked my wife out. She was in a parking lot, she's very anxious and this nearly caused an accident in the lot. There was no visible loss of power, but if we were on the freeway? Terrible accident! We've heard of other people having the same issue from CRV forums. Anyway, we took it to two different places to get the codes checked, and the codes were p0172 (fuel system too rich) and u0401-68 (ecm failure). We then went to a mechanics shop who diagnosed the problem but said they couldn't touch anything until the ECM was fixed by a dealer. We went to Honda West in Las Vegas, NV (W Sahara location), but they said there was no issue with the ECM. In fact, they said that "it's normal for everything to shut off like that when one system goes wrong or bad." Well, the problem is my wife suffers from occasional anxiety and panic attacks, but can drive normally. We've had a check engine light come on before and we've handled it. But the whole dash lighting up for 1 or 2 issues? A potential loss of power, skid control, driver assist features, all out the window because of two codes? By the way, the dealer said nothing was wrong with the ECM. Then why did a code populate for it? This needs to be fixed. The fact that I'm out $200 for a diagnostic fee, to be told that the issue is the fuel injectors (lines up with p0172 code) is fine, but why is everything lighting up like that? It's dangerous, and it's also a KNOWN issue. They need to recall their fuel injectors on their CRVs. I only found out AFTER I BOUGHT ONE. The ECM also CLEARLY needs to be fixed. Now, again, they're making money from misery.

BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH BARELY 450 MILES TURNED OFF OUT OF NOWHERE. ALL POSSIBLE DASHBOARD FAULTS WERE DISPLAYED AND CAR WOULDN'T START. BRAKES GOT LOCKED AT SOME POINT AND COULDN'T PUSH CAR AWAY FROM ROAD. MANY CUSTOMERS HAVE ALREADY ENCOUNTERED THIS ISSUE AND HONDA IS AWARE BUT CLAIMS THAT THEY DONT HAVE ANY BULLETINS OR RECALLS. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO BE DRIVING THIS CAR. CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 3 DAYS NOW AND MECHANICS/TECHNICIANS CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED SHOWS LACK OF INTEREST ON HELPING ME. HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE CAR WAS TAKEN KEEPS WORKING ON THE ISSUE. VEHICLE WONT START. THREE DAYS AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW.

I was driving slowly yesterday in a parking lot area and the electrical system on my 2019 CRV Touring sent messages that the brakes, power steering, and engine were shutting down. I lost some power steering capabilities and the brakes were not working normally, but were partially working. I called the dealer who was nearby and they said if I could drive it, to try to get to the dealership. I was less than a mile away, so I was able to drive it very slowly without complete power steering. I was told that all of the electrical signals and shut-downs were due to a fuel injector defect and that I would need all fuel injectors replaced. I have had my Honda regularly serviced without missing any needed service appointments. Prior to the electrical system shut-down yesterday, my Honda was on a recall list for a new fuel pump, which was incorrectly installed, had to be reinstalled a second time, only to find out from Honda that they had made an error and should not have sent me a letter that my Honda was under a recall for a defective fuel pump. The electrical issues began to surface soon after the second fuel pump install (the reinstall due to incorrect install the first time). It also needs to be noted that my car cabin smelled of gas for several days after the fuel pump installs, and if I fill up my gas tank to full, the cabin of my car has a gas smell. My battery immediately died shortly after the second fuel pump install and it was only approximately 2 years old. The screen where my indicators are will frequently shut down for no reason from time to time, but then will come back on. Yesterday was the first time that all systems sent warnings that everything was going to shut down, and the steering and brake systems were compromised. My family and I have concerns regarding the safety of this vehicle at this time.

All my car systems started to flash warning failure lights including brakes, steering, transmission and all the safety features. My car would start but I couldn't move it out of park and all the warning lights for every system on the car blinked failure. The wire harness that connects to the rearview mirror caused my entire car to shut down and become inoperable. I had to have it towed and it cost me $1552.53 in repairs. I did some research and other people are having the same issue. Critical systems like brakes shouldn’t be connected to things like mirrors. This is a critical safety concern. This issue should have a recall. The 2019 models having a bit of wire that hangs down is clearly a design / engineering flaw. I shouldn’t have to pay to repair this. I would like to know what Honda’s plan is to fix this issue. I have found reports of others having the same issue. My hanging my handicap plate card on the rear view mirror shouldn’t short out the entire car. Legally that is where we are suppose to hang it. People with disabilities have lower incomes and shouldn’t be penalized for Honda design errors. I would like my money refunded. I think Honda should warn customers of this flaw. I also think Honda needs to fix this on all existing and future models. I was lucky this didn't happen while I was driving on the highway to my destination.

Warning lights: adaptive cruise control fault. Lane departure fault collision avoidance fault and emissions check engine. Diagnosed fix: fuel injectors malfunctioning. This making the emissions light come on making all the other warning lights to go off. Fixed at a local Honda dealer. Not really a fix less then 24 hours later the same warning lights came back on however now a huge loss of power and loud engine noise when stepping on throttle. Just dropped off at dealer again to be diagnosed again.

Our 2019 Honda CRV had all warning lights on and flashing non-stop on the dash. We contacted Honda support and was asked to take car to a Honda dealer for diagnostics. We took the car to a Honda dealer in Huston TX. They found the cause DTC P0301, a internal failure to fuel injectors. We had to pay the dealer cash $$$$. We submitted the all repair documentations to Honda and asked for a reimbursement. Honda Co should have refund this repair cost!! It's so unfair that Honda denied to cover this recall repair just because somehow our car was not in the recall list!

Car stops suddenly on highway, going into, "limp mode." All dash warning lights came on. Rich emissions. VTM-4 issue. This is an ongoing issue with CR-Vs, yet manufacturer has issues no solution, clearly opting to work each situation independently. Therefore, manufacturer saves the time and money associated with these repairs.

seems like this is an on going issue honda safety systems failing around 30k miles. loss of all systems VSA, RMS, ACC, CMS. prior to all loss, the system would out of the blue activate when there was no cause. system will not reset and all dash warnings are on all started when the front right wheel might have had a slip issue going through a puddle of water. with the large amounts of failures, honda needs to step up and fix these issues as it is now a guaranteed profit maker for their dealers as estimated cost is 1800 dollars, pretty stiff for fixed ss income.

Hello I have been so upset with Honda. I’ve owned many Hondas and other cars in my past and never had any problems. I would tell anyone to buy a Honda until now. My daughter has been driving my car and she said it smelled bad and all the lights kept coming on. We took it to a mechanic and at that time they didn’t really see anything wrong with it. My daughter kept driving it and we found out about the recall and called to have that fixed and they said they don’t have the part and they don’t know when they will get it. Well that was upsetting because we felt that was an issue with the car and we didn’t understand why they couldn’t just order the part give us something else to drive until they got it in but no such luck. The last time I talked to Honda in Marion, Ohio they said I didn’t need the part but clearly that is wrong. Well the part I’m the most upset about is my daughter could have died driving down the road and all the lights came on in the vehicle and it would not drive while she’s out in the middle of nowhere scared half to death. We get the vehicle to Honda and they say it’s the fuel injectors. I’m like no one’s fuel injectors go out. Well I look it up and it’s a huge problem for Honda and they just don’t want to pay to have them replaced. It has cost me $2000 and had to get another car to drive and my Honda still isn’t driving very good and still no recall fixed. This is wrong! I am very disappointed in Honda and shocked. What can I do about this situation?

Driving on road and all of a sudden the car seemed like it was braking. We have don't automatic breaking. The dash lights came on. Engine, steering wheel !, traction control, brake system, and blinking brake light. The last few days it was taking more cranks, this started happening after a new fuel pump was installed last month. This was because of a fuel pump recall.

My friend reached under the driver seat and felt a bolt under it. Turns out, it was one of the 4 bolts that holds the seats frame to the car. This was the right front bolt and it completely fell out! I checked the other 3 bolts still in, but the left front was also significantly loose! I had to get an Allen wrench and bolt them back in and tighten them! The passenger seat bolts were still in but also very loose! This is dangerous if I was in an accident my front seat bolts weren't tight and one was completely out, only holding the seat in 3 of 4 places!

I was driving on a city street at around 30 mpr with no cars in front or behind me when my CRV came to sudden jerking stop and then continued forward. It was so abrupt that my head snapped forward and I slid toward the steering wheel. Luckily, no one was behind me otherwise, I would have been rear ended. This has created a great fear in driving my CRV. I still intend to contact the dealership and report directly to Honda.

The ABS system suddenly engaged for no reason with the brakes slamming on. The system has also randomly alerted to brake for no reason with nothing but shadows in front of me. I purchased this vehicle because it happened multiple times in the 2018 CRV model I owned and the dealer I bought it from said there was nothing wrong and that it couldn’t be turned off. That vehicle stopped in the middle of a road from going 35 and again in the highway while traveling at 60 mph.

The other day my car logged 35k miles. About 200 miles later multiple waning lights came up on my instrument panel. Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure and Collision Mitigation systems are not working. After looking for help on different forums I found that at around 35K miles this is happening to many people. The "radar" part of the system is most likely the part that needs replacing and just the part is over $400! This safety feature is not only required for modern vehicles, but it is used in vehicle safety ratings and marketing to attract buyers to specific vehicles. This is no small matter in my opinion. What good is a feature that stops working after the warranty runs out.

The TPMS, a federally mandated safety system, has a persistent and intermittent communication fault, causing the warning lamp to remain illuminated. This renders the critical safety system inoperable, preventing notification of dangerously low tire pressure and placing vehicle occupants at risk. The fault first appeared since April 2025 after the vehicle required a jump start. Independent Diagnosis: An ASE-certified independent service center confirmed the persistent TPMS communication code. Exhaustive diagnostics verified that the battery, charging, starting systems, and parasitic draw are all normal. The technician concluded the failure is systemic (likely software/module related) and requires Honda factory/dealer proprietary equipment to resolve. Honda’s Refusal & Barrier to Repair: The vehicle has not been inspected by a Honda dealership because Honda Corporate (Case #16008453) Case Manager Kevin created an unreasonable barrier to repair: Kevin closed the goodwill case and refused to cover the diagnostic fee necessary to identify the fault in this safety system. During the final call, Kevin denied escalation, contradicted corporate's prior confirmation of a supervisor request, and refused written documentation of the denial. Honda's refusal to cover the diagnostic fee for a documented failure in a mandated safety system prevents the required manufacturer-level testing and resolution. I am filing this complaint due to the safety risk and Honda's procedural failures.

My tire pressure light has gone on 10 plus times in the last year and I think only 3 times my tire was actually low on air. This is a safety feature because you need your tires to drive. The dealer has advised they can’t find an issue with the sensor etc and keeps telling me it’s the tread etc and wants to show me how to recalibrate the system. I worry every time I get into the car that the light is going to go on and hear a binging sound. It’s very nerve wracking because I only have just shy of 34k miles on the car and it continues to happen. If I ignored it and turned out there was a flat then I cause more damage to the vehicle. I would never consider taking it on a long ride just because of this issue. I don’t want to know how to recalibrate I want it fixed.

Electrical System problem //I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a recurring and serious issue with my 2019 Honda CR-V. Multiple dashboard warning lights turn on simultaneously without clear explanation. These lights are extremely distracting while driving and present a significant safety concern. What’s even more troubling is that we have no idea why these lights are coming on. This uncertainty puts us in a dangerous situation—driving without knowing whether the vehicle might stall, break down, or suffer another critical failure at any moment.Given that this appears to be a common issue among other CR-V owners, I strongly believe that Honda should take responsibility. At the very least, owners should be provided one free diagnostic service at an authorized dealership to determine the cause—especially if it’s related to a manufacturing or system defect. The stress and anxiety this has caused are considerable. In fact, the distraction caused by these lights nearly led to an accident. I hope NHTSA will take this matter seriously and offer support to affected customers before someone gets seriously hurt.

I am writing a complaint for 2019 Honda CR-V. While I am aware of the fuel pump recall for this model, what is not recalled and needs to be are the multiple dashboard lights that turn on and remain lit that many owners of this model and several years earlier have not been able to find solutions for. The lights turn on regardless of having a new battery. 2017-2019 Honda CRV owners have not been able to get a clear answer from dealers, and only have been told by Honda to "go to a dealer" who is not able to give a solution. Some have reported that the issue is poor fuel inspectors that needs to be replaced. Finding answers to this is costly after already investing in a vehicle that we trusted would be safe. The multiple dashboard lights are distracting and a safety hazard, and the fact that we do not know the reason they are turning on puts us in a position of driving on the road without knowing if our vehicle will stall, break down, etc. My personal vehicle has been inspected. I am requesting, at minimum, that if a recall cannot be issued, then owners be provided at least one free diagnostic service at a Honda dealer to address an issue that was the responsibility of the vehicle maker.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, several unknown warning lights illuminated, causing the cruise control mode and the lane mitigation system to become inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that there was fuel intrusion in the engine oil. The dealer determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under an unknown extended warranty coverage because the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

My 2019 honda crv has been in and out of shops since April 1st. On april 1st lights popped on on my dashboard the lights were break system lights. All wheel drive system lights, and then the lane keep assist adaptive cruise ect were on and not operational. I looked up what could cause that to happen and it stated rear differential fluid could pop lights on. I took it to the dealership and stated it felt like it was running funny but the lights all went off before I got there but if they could do the rear diff fluid and run diagnostic just to be safe that'd be great. Diagnostic found nothing wrong g with my vehicle. A few days later the same lights came on and then multiple other lights came on, my boyfriend stated it could be electrical maybe spark plugs so we bought them and replaced them. Restarted the car and drove it they went off but then came back on next morning. Next solution was maybe my battery has gone bad. Bought a new battery in hopes it'd work and no luck. We pull out our code reader and it pulls a code for cam shaft position sensors so we purchase those and replace them and still no luck. I finally take it to a repair shop since there's nothing else we can do on our own to fix the issue and the repair shop has a hard time trying to diagnose the issue. They ran codes and tests trying to figure this out they checked the mechanical side of things since the dealership only checked electrical side of things and found that my car had debris in the oil. They began researching and finding the hondas in my year and make and model with the 1.5 turbo engines have a class action lawsuit due to oil dilution and after more digging they found that I did indeed suffer from this and would need an engine replacement due to the damage that has been done and that would be around 10k. Honda knowing sold me a vehicle that could have an issue like this. I bought the car used and kept up on all maintenance and now am having my car repossessed because I cant afford the repa

THE 2019 HONDA CR-V TOURING VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED GASOLINE CONTAMINATION OF THE ENGINE OIL DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE DESIGN. THE ABNORMAL LEVELS OF GASOLINE CONTAMINATES HAS BEEN VALIDATED THROUGH A THIRD-PARTY LAB TEST. THE DEGRADATION OF THE LUBRICATING PROPERTIES OF THE ENGINE OIL RESULTS IN ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND IN-CABIN AIR QUALITY ISSUES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO THE MANUFACTURER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT, HOWEVER, THEY HAVE INDICATED THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS ISSUE AT THIS TIME UNLESS YOU LIVE IN SPECIFIC STATES WHERE THE FIX IS BEING OFFERED. THIS IS A KNOWN INTERNATIONAL ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE TYPE AND HONDA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM. SOME REPORTS INDICATE THAT CONSUMERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERE VEHICLE PERFORMANCE ISSUES (I.E., STALLING) AS WELL AS HEALTH RELATED ISSUES DUE TO SUPER STRONG GASOLINE ODORS IN THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE REDUCED LUBRICATION QUALITY OF THE ENGINE OIL DUE TO THE ENGINE DESIGN ISSUE HAS LONG-TERM PERFORMANCE INDICATIONS.

As I pulled from a stop, into an intersection, the car slammed on the brakes with no warning. Did not see the normal "BRAKE" message as usually appears if you follow to closely for example and there was no car in front of me. It was a quick slam of the brakes, which threw my head forward and down suddenly, then released. I Continued driving and saw no warning lights or indication of a problem on the dashboard. However, when I parked the car and turned the engine off, it would not restart. Only clicked and displayed a continuous series of error messages on the dash including "Electronic Break System Failure" and others. The car would not start. I tried to start it multiple times until the battery eventually ran down. Called tow service and they jump started the car. All error messages reset and did not reappear. I only drove it short distance home and have not driven it since.

Vehicles harness leading to auto dimming rear view mirror was defective and a wire split rendering all my braking capability. The ABS system felt like it was reversing the brakes EVERYTIME I stepped on the pedal. I hit my garage door because of this: Honda wanted me to pay to fix the wire because "I had a handicap plate that probably broke the wire" yet I never put my handicap placard on my mirror but rather on my dashboard. My brakes are electronically controlled due to it having an electric brake booster and AEB, radar cruise control and more. I could have been killed. HONDA DIDNT CARE, made me take the car with no brakes.

There is a recall issued for my vehicle. I have experienced the exact symptoms described as part of the recall notice. I had a check engine light. Initially they said it was the battery and replaced it, however, a month later again was the same problem. They had an area of diagnosis where it said fuel injection replacement. I was charged 3k. I spoke to them and asked why is it that I had to replace my battery within 1 month, thats very odd. Why is not the recall issue that is the problem and why do they not fix that for me? Why is it that the recall issue is not causing my issues or secondairly causing my issues and everything is being addressed but the recall? I called company. They said they cant get any information from the dealership because of their systems being down—in 2024, lies. Systems can be down but eventually they can be fixed. They asked me to go to a different dealership. I have gone to a different dealership. I was told that the company is not reimbursing people despite having these issues of starting vehciles and check engine signs. These companies need to be held accountable. If a recall is issued, and when a customer is having issues, they cant just blame it one the batter or other parts and act like the recall is not the issue.

Sometimes when you shut the car off, the fuel pump in the fuel tank continues to run. I restarted my car and shut it off and the fuel pump will stop. I'm not sure if it's a bad relay or in the wiring. I don't park near the house. Thanks

When the fuel injectors go bad or out in the 2019 CRV, the check engine light should just come on. Instead the CRV 2019 CRV all lights come on dashboard disabling all safety systems in the car and makes those safety systems unusable when it should just be alerting you of an engine issue. This could cause accidents with a vehicle, rather than the engine just shutting down. Honda has known about it not fixing not only fuel injector they need to be fixing the electric problem that goes along disabling the safety features. They also need to get fuel injector parts in stock. Also, the fuel injector cause further damage to other parts of the vehicle. It damages spark plugs, oil. Honda should been recalling this issue awhile. We take good care of our vehicle and have up kept this vehicle. This one needs to be fixed properly fixing just the injector not enough they have to fix the issue of the safety features where doesn’t disable the whole car along with new injectors.

After waiting in car, dash board went crazy with all warning lights scrolling. Two dealers refused to take car because the dash stopped. This happened 3 times. Third time, Autozone x2 and Firestone, independent of one another said computer issue and that a code for rich fuel was coming up. On sixth check, mechanic private used code reader after check engine light came on. Dash went berserk twice. They refused to touch vehicle stating it’s electrical. Took it to dealer who kept car for five weeks. ‘Can’t get an active code. We can start with fuel injectors’. ‘Maybe’ that will stop dash board issue. Now, five days after this diagnosis, dealer states that the tech DID find drop in voltage happening intermittently. When I asked why I was not told this originally - he cited mis communication. Car runs great. No repairs done yet as no one knows what to do. 114,000 miles. Highway. I am on several forums and this is not an isolated issue. Help please

While driving the SUV and series of warning lights started going off all at the same time. I took the SUV to Honda dealership and they ran diagnostics and said that all SIX fuel injectors needed to be replaced. Said it was a common problem they we seeing in this make and model of SUV. The faulty fuel injectors was causing fuel pressure problems which sets off all the warning lights is how it was explained to me. Due to the widespread problem with the fuel injectors there was a backlog and wait time of 6 months to order new fuel injectors and replace them. I am just outside of the warranty for the SUV and I went through Honda for Goodwill Assistance. Honda said I was a good candidate to receive because of the low mileage. After many weeks they denied my Goodwill Assistance request and Honda stated they only do Recalls when NHTSA requires them to do a Recall. Please look into faulty fuel injectors because when all the warning lights come on then I loose some of the safety features that come with this SUV. I will be more than willing to provide any other information to prove there's a known and widespread problem with this SUV's fuel injectors. I respectfully request it's investigated and Honda is required to do a Recall. Thank you. There are 11 warning lights that come on, I have provided pictures of a few but listed here are all of them: Electric Parking Brake Problem, Tire Pressure Monitor Problem, Emissions System Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Power Steering System (EPS) Problem, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem, Hill Start Assist Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem.

While driving felt sticking of the steering wheel when only turning left on curves or at a red light or stop sign. This occurred sporadically over a three month period but became more pronounced the last month prior to taking the vehicle to the dealership. Dealership discovered the issue was the electric power steering (EPS) had failed. This occurred 3 months after 36 month warranty had expired and 3,000 miles over the mileage limit. No warning light was displayed when issues occurred. Diagnostics was performed by dealer and fault code 32xx thru 34xx confirmed the problem was the EPS control unit. Had the unit replaced due to safety concerns when driving with family. Because of the electric system there was no way to conduct preventative maintenance. Called Honda corporation and a "Good Will Case" was opened (#13019826).

VEHICLE KEEPS GAINING OIL LEVEL FROM BURNED FUEL EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER INSTALLED THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. I LIVE IN THE SOUTH SO THE COLD WEATHER IS NOT THE ISSUE. I AM AN INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC FOR 47 YEARS AND DO MY OWN MAINTENANCE SO I KNOW WHAT THE CORRECT LEVEL IS. THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO FIX BUT DILUTED FUEL LEADS TO DAMAGE AND IF SEVERE, CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE AND ACCIDENT. THE IMAGE POSTED IS ABOUT 7K MILES ON OIL CHANGE AND THE LEVEL IS ABOVE THE LEVEL MARKER PAD. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE ELECTRONIC DISPLAY FAILS TO FUNCTION WHICH ALLOWS ACCESS TO VEHICLE INFORMATION AND CONTROL ACCESS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE UNIT BUT THIS ISSUE GOES BACK TO 2016 AND SO FAR, DO NOT KNOW IF THE REPLACEMENT WILL SOLVE THE ISSUE SINCE IT WAS REPLACED WITH A REMANUFACTURED PART, NOT NEW. THE DEALER REPLACED THE UNIT REALLY NOT TELLING HONDA THE TRUTH ABOUT THE FAILURE TYPE, THEY SAID IT WAS SOUND SYSTEM ISSUE WHEN THEY KNEW FOR A FACT THERE WAS NONE AS I GAVE THEM A VIDEO AND A LETTER DESCRIBING THE ISSUE. ONE PART IS 1000 DOLLARS AND THE OTHER 1800 DOLLARS, A STIFF COST WHEN WARRANTY RUNS OUT. THEIR FIX IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AT A COUPLE OF HUNDRED A MONTH. A WIN WIN FOR THEM AND A LOSS TO THE CONSUMER. THE FAILURE WAS SPORATIC AND HAPPENED DRIVING OR PARKED. THE FAILURE DATE IS JUST FOR THE ELECTRONIC PART BUT OIL ISSUE HAS BEEN FROM THE BEGINNING.

HONDA IS AWARE OF PROBLEM, BUT DOES NOT INSTRUCT THE DEALER TO FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE SELLING ITS CARS. ENGINE PROBLEM AT 12 MILE AND UP, BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH,2019, SMELLED GASOLINE IN ENGINE OIL AT DIPSTICK, THE LEVEL WAS OVER MAX MARK BY 1/4", WAS TOLD THAT HONDA ALREADY IMPLEMENTED THE SOLUTION PRIOR TO SELLING 2019 MODEL TO THE PUBLIC. OBVIOUSLY, IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. DEALER WAS NO HELP, REFUSE TO ADMIT THAT THE OIL WAS OVER MAXIMUM AND MIXED WITH GASOLINE. 5-9-19 AT 1467 MILES, PAID TO CHANGE OIL AND FILTER AT DEALER AND STARTED TO MONITOR OIL CONDITION AND LEVEL CLOSELY. DISCOVERING THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS STILL OVER MAXIMUM MARK BY 1/4" AFTER RETURNING HOME AND ENGINE WAS COOL. 5/13/19 AT 1600 MILES, DRAINED 1/4 QT. OF OIL OUT TO BRING THE LEVEL DOWN TO 1/8" BELOW MAX. MARK. DISCOVERED THAT THE OIL HAD ALREADY TURNED BLACK AFTER LESS THAN 200 MILES , 4 DAYS AFTER OIL CHANGE. SAVED SAMPLE OF THE BLACK OIL FOR DEALER. 5/14/19 AT 1694 MILES, SHOWED SAMPLE OF NEWLY CHANGED BLACK OIL TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPT. WAS TOLD THAT THIS DIRTY OIL COULD BE TYPICAL OF THIS 1.5 TURBO ENGINE. DEALER ADMIT THIS TIME FROM THE OIL SAMPLE THAT THERE IS GASOLINE SMELL MIXED IN WITH ENGINE OIL. PAID FOR ANOTHER OIL AND FILTER CHANGE MYSELF. DEALER DID NOT OFFER TO DO ANYTHING EXCEPT TELLING ME TO CONTACT HONDA ENGINEERING. WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE OIL STATUS, AND POSSIBLY ASK FOR HELP FROM HONDA USA. HONDA IS NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR THE CUSTOMER SINCE IT HAS KNOWN THIS SINCE 2017 MODEL YEAR. WHEN DRIVING, THE BRAKE ASSIST WILL BEEP AND FLASH "BRAKE" AT ME WHEN THERE ARE NO OBSTACLES ANYWHERE NEAR THE VEHICLE AND ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION HAS ACTUALLY BRAKED AND SLOWED THE VEHICLE SUBSTANTIALLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE LANE DEPARTURE WARNING COMES ON WHEN I HAVEN'T LEFT THE LANE, AND ALSO WILL BRAKE WHEN IT IS NOT ONLY UNNECESSARY BUT VERY DANGEROUS, SUCH AS WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN THE FAST LANE ON THE FREEWAY WITH CARS TRAVELING BEHIND ME.

UNDER CERTAIN LIGHTNING OR GLARE CONDITIONS, THE CR-V'S AUTOMATIC BRAKING COMES ON. IT RECENTLY HAPPENED TO ME ON THREE OCCASIONS. IN THE FIRST IT WAS ON THE T. R. BRIDGE, LEADING INTO DC, AT 7 AM, WHEN THE SUNLIGHT FROM THE EAST WAS CAUSING GLARE. THE CR-V BRAKED AUTOMATICALLY WHILE GOING AT ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN THERE WAS NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF MINE. IN THE SECOND AND THIRD INSTANCES, IT WAS WHEN I WAS ON I-66 EAST ON THE OVERPASS OVER THE CAPITAL BELTWAY AT 8:30 PM TRAVELING AT ABOUT 55 MPH. THE CR-V'S "BRAKE" WARNING CAME ON WHEN THERE WAS NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OR NEXT TO THE VEHICLE. THE GLARE FROM THE OVERHEAD LIGHTING FOR THE HIGHWAY SIGNS IS QUITE STRONG IN THAT LOCATION. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, SINCE THE VEHICLE CAN BRAKE WITHOUT WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS, POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OR TO BE REAR ENDED AT HIGH SPEEDS.

WE TOWED THE CRV TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY AFTER 4 DAYS WERE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THAT ALL THE SAFETY SYSTEMS HAD FAILED AS THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORTCURCUIT WHICH HAS BLOWN THE FUSES AND THE CONTROL SYSTEM. THE CAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL SHORT WAS TRACED TO EXOPSED WIRES IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSMEBLY WHICH WERE DAMAGED BY AN ORNAMNET WE HAD HUNG. THE REASON I AM COMPLAINING IS I WANT TO BRING IT TO YOUR ATTENTION OF THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT. 1.LOT OF PEOPLE HANG ORNAMNETS/ CAR FRESHNER ETC AND THIS DEFECT CAN CAUSE A VERY SERIOUS SYSTEM FAILURE WITH ALL SAFETY SYSTEMS FAILING WHEN THE CRV IS IN MOTION. 2.THIS CRV IS LESS THAN 6 M OLD SO IT ALSO INDICATES TO THE POOR DESIGNAND MANUFACTURE . 3. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE

I am reporting a severe safety defect involving the engine and fuel injector system that began two months ago at ≈108k miles (now 109k miles). I have not yet taken the vehicle in for service due to the estimated high repair cost of $2,900. It is critical to note that the same underlying problem was subject to a safety recall for the 2017-2018 model years, but the defect was not fixed for my 2019 model year. This indicates a persistent manufacturing or design flaw that warrants an immediate investigation into my model year. The defect manifests regularly, causing a Cylinder 2 Misfire (P0302) and making the engine run very rough with a sudden and severe loss of power. This creates a direct rear-end crash risk due to the inability to maintain a safe operating speed. More dangerously, when the misfire occurs, the vehicle instantly disables critical driver assistance systems—Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keep Assist (LKAS)—without any advanced warning. This malfunction is an unreasonable safety risk: CRASH HAZARD: The unprompted power loss and concurrent disabling of safety features create an immediate, dangerous situation. FIRE HAZARD: The persistent misfire strongly suggests a failed or stuck-open fuel injector, which causes fuel dilution of the engine oil. This contamination can lead to engine failure or, critically, a fuel leak onto hot engine components that poses an extreme fire risk. I urge NHTSA to investigate why this defect persists and to mandate a comprehensive recall to protect the public from this ongoing, life-threatening safety risk. The failed component may be available for inspection upon request.

I have 2 issues with my car - the first one has been ongoing and I should have reported it sooner - when using cruise my car will sometimes brake for no reason, it's as if the car sees something that's not there. The second one just occurred and has only happened once. I was driving on the highway using cruise and I got a message on the dash that said something like cruise control disengaged - the cruise turned off and the gas pedal didn't work so I had to coast to the shoulder. Luckily, I didn't have to cross any lanes of traffic or it could have been extremely dangerous. I plan to contact the dealer as soon as I am done with this submission. I wanted to be able to tell them that I had notified the NHTSA.

Continuous illumination of all lights on the dash. We have to reset the battery to clear the codes and it will do it again but the timing differs. Now, I am getting the “Airbag SRS System Problem” that pops up and then goes away when the vehicle is restarted. This has been going on for over a year. We have replaced the alternator and continue to try and find the actual malfunction as a code reader just lists all things being illuminated. We are not the first, not the only, and definitely not the last crv owners with this issue. FIX THIS!!!! I’m highly disappointed in Honda.

I discovered that Honda had done a recall to fix this problem on several other models but not the CRV. From what I can determine is that this is a problem with the Body Control Module. I feel that there seems to be a lot of CRV with the same problem and maybe your Organization might want to look into this. on [XXX] I was driving home with my wife & [XXX] baby, in what I would describe as standard wintery mix of weather - rain, but not yet cold enough to be snow. My 2019 CRV EX-L alerts me of the following message: "Some Driver Assist Systems Cannot Operate: Radar Obstructed" As I've had this car for years, I've seen this message pop before, but as I had no plans of using any Driver Assist features, i didn't think anything of it. At roughly [XXX], while driving on the highway, my Honda became 100% unresponsive to me as the driver. It locked the ability to steer the wheel or apply the brakes in any capacity. The vehicle completely usurped driving power & under its own power, began veering off the road at highway speeds. I could only look straight ahead and hope that when we crashed into the upcoming highway divider, my family wouldn't die. To confirm, i tried pumping brakes, holding down the brakes, touching - absolutely nothing worked - they were completely locked. The steering wheel locked as well, we were heading for certain death. This was going what felt for a lifetime, but after probably 5 - 10 seconds, i was able to gain steering control - and turned away from the light post we were destined to hit & was able to get us veered back on the highway. Conditions were wintery, and we swerved alongside another car lanes away. By the grace of God, my car and the other car, only slightly touched side view mirrors. We both pulled over and swapped information, but little actual damage was caused. With all of this said I want to make sure one thing is clear. Honda almost killed my entire family. They put us in danger for absolutely no reason. My Honda CRV overrode every possible human driver action - and had us on a direct path with death. If not for the grace of God - I wouldn't be able to write this message to you. We opened a case with Honda Case #[XXX] where they made me pay for a diagnostics test - however didnt properly inspect the issue imo INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Car automatically brakes when there is no obstacles and sometimes no other vehicles in roadway. Most of the time when approaching a bridge. Usually travelling at speeds above 50. Hasn't been inspected by dealer. This increases risk of rear end collision. The light saying to brake comes on prior to the brakes engaging. This has happened multiple times during ownership of this vehicle (purchased new). Most recent incident was within the last month or so. There is no indication of the cause. There are multiple other issues with this vehicle to include issues with the display screen, door seals, and poor interior, however those do not appear to cause issues of safety at this time.

Honda has no answer my car has been down since 06/2023 it is a one car family, I have wasted and depleted mu funds on a rental car and Honda has no answer for me. The passenger side seat weight sensor assembly failed. It is available for inspection. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by a certified Honda dealer. The airbag light stayed on beginning in December 2023. The SRS warning light came on in March 2024. This defect was subject to a recall of CRV’s manufactured from 2020 to 2022. We believe the 2019 vehicles were affected also and should have been part of the recall. Honda has recognized this problem and has reimbursed us $800 of the $1758.68 of the repair bill.

While driving the car at highway speed the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power to all essential functions. The engine shutdown and there was no steering and loss of some of the brake functions. Multiple warnings started showing ( too many to list here ). The car came to a stop partially in the highway and we experienced several near misses by passing vehicles before we could get enough assistance to push the vehicle out of the roadway. Since this incident a simple search has shown that this is a very common problem with this vehicle. It appears that it could be a problem with the computer software. This problem has a very high potential for serious injury or death when it occurs while driving at highway speeds. Please look into this issue as soon as possible.

Was parked on side of road. No previous warning lights. Car would not start. Unable to put on hazard lights in dark on highway. Had to be towed. All dash wearing lights on only. Was at dealer 2 months prior due to all dash lights on and power failure. Replaced battery and car was re coded per dealer. Prior to that all dash lights came on when car turned off and had to disconnect battery cable every night. Now car does not turnover when jumped and battery charged. Dealer thinks might be a smart unit and parasitic battery drain. Car only has 42000 miles on it. No hazards, worried about being rear ended. i What if there was an abrupt power failure while driving. Living in Wisconsin what if stranded in freezing temps. Unreliable car due to manufacture defects.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
1 complaint
Two issues are going on and have been going on since I have had the vehicle: 1. The car will spontaneously brake HARD when going down the road with no particular reason. It most frequently happens on the highway and it happens sporadically so it is difficult to replicate. I see it often but not all the time when crossing under an overpass or going off on an exit. The amount of brake use varies as well, sometimes just a tap and sometimes quite significant, losing 20-30 mph in seconds. 2. The infotainment system goes on the blink. Often starts with the brightness setting flashing up on the screen when nothing has been touched. Then it will go away, then brightness will blink back up, then the whole screen is useless / frozen or just disappears all together. I have a few videos of this. The ONLY way to get it to work again is by stopping the car, turning it off and restarting it. This obviously is not possible at certain times and can be really difficult to deal with when going through a big city and relying on the map to help you navigate both roads and traffic (like when it happened on the George Washington Bridge in NYC).

I bought a Honda CR-V 2019 with 30,695 miles on 7/22/2022 from an authorized dealer. Vehicle had 1 previous owner and a clean record. At around 50,000 miles the car started to have some computer glitches. Interior lights and radio turning on and off. Interior screen changing randomly and rapidly between functions. Nothing to where I was too concerned. I would turn the car on and off and it would fix itself. I am now at 56,000 miles and on 7/23/23 and my car had every light on the dashboard light up. It had the engine light, brake system, traction, steering ACC and was showing warnings for: Adaptive cruise control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind spot warning, Forward collision warning, Lane departures warning, Lane keeping assistance, Parking collision warning, Rear cross traffic warning. I just received a call from the Honda Mechanic, and they informed me it was the fuel injectors and possible spark plugs. It will cost $1,730.00. They are also going to do a computer update and reset. Why is this problem not under warranty? This car is not that old and I make sure all my maintenance is done.

I have owned my Honda since it had 11 miles on it, brand new in the parking lot I took it home. I’ve noticed in the past few months since September of 2022 ish the lane assist, and lane departure do not work now. Out of 100 times I drive the lane keep only works maybe 5/100 times. I called the dealership explaining how it’s a safety concern if it ever defected. And it’s not keeping me in the lane or even trying to read the lines on the road. The dealer wanted $199 just to look at it. I ended up watching a YouTube video, disconnecting and cleaning my battery, resetting all systems and computer. It fixed it for a day, then stopped working again. I haven’t taken it to the dealer because I can’t afford $199 hair for them to look at it. Also, my car is four years old and I’ve had fluid leaking out of the bottom of my car since I bought it. My mechanic and I both thought it was an oil leak. Then assumed it was factory oil from the new engine or the ac unit. Well at my last state inspection Honda wanted $1200 because my right front strut was leaking fluid. Which explains the wobbliness and uneven drive in the vehicle. I just had my tires replaced and the vehicle drives very unstable. I spent $250 on the part online and replaced it myself and it has been corrected but now I need a $130 alignment from Honda. Not been in an accident but I grew up in a mechanic family. I do all of my own maintenance with a family member on a lift.

1. My car like many other CRV's I have read about online in forums and other sites is experiencing the fuel injection failure of CRV's since 2017 model. The consumer reports article from 2018 stated the 2019 model was to include a "fix" for this problem but it has not. My car has been in the shop twice in 2 weeks for this issue and now I am facing a $1,788.00 repair at my cost to have all new fuel injectors replaced at 51,400 miles. First sign of problem showed every safety system on the car failing and warnings on every light on the dash. Only after the 2nd trip to the dealer was the fuel injection code thrown on the computer. This problem leads to stalls, cuts offs, sluggishness in traffic which all cause safety issues. 2. The automatic emergency braking system on my car has alerted on multiple occasions when there is nothing in front of me, no obstruction, or any reason to throw the brake warning on the screen. There is one particular place on my daily commute where this happens consistently even though the light is green and there is no traffic flow ahead, beside or oncoming. 3. The lane keep assist program misreads shadows from the electric or telephone lines projected onto the roadway and steers to maneuver around them. It also tends to have difficulty when the road is wet in spots from rain earlier in the day. I keep it off most of the time now because of how it reacts.

My 2019 Honda CR-V just had it's rear glass exploded all of a sudden. It was a 85F degree day and condition seemed normal and nothing out of the ordinary. The rear window left and right sides had a huge fault crack all along the edges. The middle of the windshield popped a hole and then upon lifting the trunk because I was unaware of the glass, the hole increased in size and chunks of glass just rained everywhere. Honda claims an object struck the glass, but that would mean the main damage would concentrate around that area. Judging from the damage to the left and right edges, it would indicate the glass internally failed all together.

IF A SOY BASED PRODUCT IS BEING USED, THEN THE REPAIRS THAT WILL BE NEEDED OVER AND OVER FROM RODENTS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY FOR WIRING FOR THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE CAR!! THIS HARNESS GOES TO CONTROL ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT IS IN THE CARS COMPUTER SYSTEM. I AM AN ELDERLY DISABLED SENIOR ON A FIXED INCOME. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO BUY THIS CAR AND THEN TURN AROUND BEFORE IT IS EVEN A YEAR OLD TO HAVE TO FORK OUT $1400.00 FOR A NEW WIRING HARNESS, YOU KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN, BUT DID NOT CARE!!!
