TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI FX35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V008000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

TAKATA RECALL (PREVIOUS CASE NUMBER 1039551) I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING UP WITH INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS SINCE AUGUST 2016 AND WAS ADVISED TODAY FROM [XXX], REGIONAL MANAGER THAT THE OFFICIAL (NOT TEMPORARY PIECE) WAS AVAILABLE FOR INSTALLATION. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE THE NHTSA WEBSITE STATES THAT AS OF 12/14/2016 "RECALL IS INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN DISHONEST WITH ME BEFORE AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE NOT GIVING ME A TEMPORARY REPAIR WITH "LOW RISK", BUT THE ACTUAL OFFICIAL REPAIR WITH "NO RISK" AS I DRIVE OFTEN WITH A 2 YEAR OLD, AND WIFE... TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI FX35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DOORS COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED OR LOCKED USING THE KEY FOB OR THE INTERIOR DOOR LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. AFTER THE REPAIR THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

HAVE A 2003 INFINITI FX35, AND THE ELECTRONIC LOCKS NOW DO NOT FULLY LOCK OR UNLOCK AND THE UNLOCK MESSAGE APPEAR ON THE SCREEN WHILE DRIVING (THE WORK WHEN THEY WANT). FIRST ONE DOOR WENT OUT NOW THE OTHER. MY SENSE IS THAT A SMALL CHILD OR ELDERLY PERSON IN THE BACK COULD BE IN SERIOUS DANGER IF THERE WERE AN IMMEDIATE NEED FOR THEM TO BE EVACUATED. WITH ONLY ONE MANUAL LOCK FOR THE ENTIRE VEHICLE (ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR) A PERSON WOULD HAVE TO GO ACROSS THE CAR TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR IN AN EMERGENCY (IN ADDITION TO REACHING BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR). SINCE I SEE THIS AS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE, I BELIEVE NHTSA SHOULD INVESTIGATE AND ORDER AN APPROPRIATE RECALL. POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY. THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL INSTANCES HAVING THE REAR CHILD DOOR LOCK ENGAGED AND WE COULD NOT OPEN THE REAR DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE BECAUSE THE ACTUATORS FAILED. CHILDREN HAD TO EXIT OUT THE FRONT BY CLIMBING OVER THE FRONT SEATS. WHILE AT A PARKING GARAGE A LARGE VEHICLE PARKED CLOSE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF OUR CAR AND COULD NOT OPEN DOORS TO RE-ENTER. AGAIN, INTERMITTENT OPERATION OF POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS , BOTH FRONT AND REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCKS FAILED. WE HAD TO ENTER THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE REAR TAILGATE/HATCH. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND LOCK WERE OPERATING AT THAT TIME AND MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS. I HAVE A 2003 INFINITY FX35, FOR SOME TIME I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH ALL THE DOOR ACTUATORS THEY SOMETIME WORK AND SOME NOT, NOW THEY DON'T WORK AT ALL. IT STARTED WITH THE DRIVERS DOOR AND LIKE 2 MONTHS LATER THE REST OF THE DOORS INCLUDING THE TRUNK. I HAD IT CHECK WITH AN ELECTROMECHANICAL AND HE TOLD ME IS THE DOOR ACTUATORS THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE ALL OF THEM. I HAVE BEEN READING THAT THIS HAPPENS TO ALL INFINITY FX35 MODELS AND SOME OTHERS. I REALLY THINK THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND SOMETHING MOST BE DONE ABOUT IT.... ALL FOUR DOOR LOCKS AS WELL AS THE HATCH LOCK CEASED TO WORK PROPERLY (I.E. WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WHEN THE AUTOMATIC LOCK BUTTON WAS PUSHED.) TOLD THAT IT WAS AN ACTUATOR PROBLEM, AND THAT ALL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED (AT GREAT EXPENSE). THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. FIRST, WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR, DOORS COULD NOT BE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED QUICKLY IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING ALONE, SECURITY OF THE CAR WAS LIKEWISE COMPROMISED. ALSO TROUBLING WAS THAT THE SOUND OF DOORS LOCKING WOULD STILL BE HEARD, BUT THE DOORS WERE NOT ACTUALLY LOCKED--THUS LEADING DRIVERS TO THINK THEIR CAR WAS SECURE WHEN IN FACT IT WAS NOT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI FX35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE ENGINE REDUCED POWER AND STALLED. THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY WAS LOST. AFTER TWENTY MINUTES, THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT MADE AND APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 35,000.

I HAVE AN '03 INFINITI FX35 WITH 90,000 MILES. I'M NOT AN ABUSIVE NOR NEGLIGENT OPERATOR AND HAVE HAD ALL MY SERVICES WELL MAINTAINED. CAR BEGAN BY OVERHEATING 15 HOURS INTO MY 16 HOUR DRIVE HOME FROM YELLOWSTONE THIS SUMMER. IT STARTED OVERHEATING WHEN I SLOWED DOWN IN TOWNS AND SUCH...REPLACED MY THERMOSTAT....FLUSHED EVERYTHING....DROVE FOR QUITE A FEW WEEKS MORE WITH NO PROBLEMS...THOUGHT IT WAS SOLVED :/ NOT QUITE. OVERHEATING BEGAN ONCE AGAIN...THIS TIME I HAD MY HEATER GOING AND NOTICED IT GOING COLD THEN WITHIN MINUTES MY TEMP BEGAN RISING. I PULLED RIGHT OVER KNOWING WHAT DAMAGES CAN BE INCURRED. I HAD COOLANT BEING EXPELLED FROM MY SPARE RESERVOIR JUST LIKE THE OTHER INSTANCES. I WAITED FOR IT TO COOL, FILLED IT WITH WATER/COOLANT AND MADE IT A WAYS FURTHER, THEN REPEAT, REPEAT. TOOK MY CAR TO INFINITI OF BEAVERTON WHO TOLD ME THAT MY ISSUE WAS A CRACKED RADIATOR. THEY WANTED 900 FOR IT. REPLACED IT, CAR STILL OVERHEATED. REPLACED WATER PUMP. STILL OVERHEATED. HAD MY CAR TOWED BACK TO INFINITI WHO FAILED TO HAVE A LOANER AVAILABLE (EVEN THOUGH I CALLED A DAY IN ADVANCE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD). THEY MADE ME RENT A CAR! THEY TOLD ME THEY STILL COULDN'T DIAGNOSE IT AND THAT I HAD TO DRIVE OR HAVE IT TOWED TO A DIFFERENT SHOP AND PAY TO HAVE A 4 GAS HYDROCARBON TEST DONE. WELL SURE ENOUGH A ONE-WAY PINHOLE LEAK IN THE HEAD GASKET NOT DISPLAYING YOUR TYPICAL TRAITS OF GASKET BLOWOUTS...ONLY A SLIGHT RISE IN HYDROCARBONS, BUT ENOUGH TO SHOW IT HAD A LEAK ALLOWING AIR INTO THE SYSTEM WHICH THEN OVERPRESSURIZES MY COOLANT SYSTEM CAUSING THE SPARE RES. TO BE MY RELEASE LOCATION. ONCE AIR IS INTRODUCED AND REPLACES THE COOLANT AN AIR BUBBLE DEVELOPS AND SYSTEM OVERHEATS. WHAT I AM GETTING AT IS THAT INFINITI IS NOT RECOGNIZING THIS AS ANY PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS WHO TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT HELP ME AT THIS TIME BUT WITH A $300 CREDIT TOWARDS THE $7000 ENGINE REPLACEMENT THEY WANT TO PERFORM. AT 101,000 AND FREQUENTLY THEREAFTER THE VEHICLE WHEN DRIVING WOULD JUST SUDDENLY OVERHEAT AND ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM MALFUNCTION CAUSING AUTOMOBILE TO SUDDENLY LOSE POWER AND START TO SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS OR ROADS. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE WHAT IS CAUSING THE MALFUNCTION OR FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND DANGEROUS ON HIGHWAY WHEN YOU DRIVING AT 65 MPH. VERY, VERY SCARY AND JUST BARELY AVOIDED SEVERAL REAR END COLLISION. FOR THE PRICE OF THE AUTOMOBILE BRAND NEW, WITH BARELY OVER 100,000 MILES AND THE DEALER UNABLE TO DETERMINE OR FIX THE PROBLEM IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE DEALER SUGGESTED I PAY THEM $ 10,000 TO INSTALL A NEW ENGINE--THAT IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION. THIS PROBLEM IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS INVESTIGATION. IT USED TO BE THAT THE FIRST INITIAL BRAKE DRIVING IN A 15-20 MPH, THAT MY VEHICLE MAKES A RATTLING NOISE FROM THE FRONT TIRES, NOW IT DOES IT FOR THE FIRST 2 TO 3 BRAKING PATTERN. I AM JUST WORRIED THAT AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRES AND THE SAME PROBLEM ARISES, THE DEALER OR THE MANUFACTURER WON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE DAMAGES IT MIGHT CAUSE. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO CORRECT THE BRAKING PROBLEM IT CREATES. A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER THE SERVICE, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCUR. THE DEALER KEEPS GIVING ME ANALOGIES ABOUT A WINE GLASS, WATER ON YOUR FINGER TIPS AND RUNNING THEM OVER THE TIP OF THE GLASS....WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM OF THE CAR! AFTER 3 MONTHS LEASING THE VEHICLE, THE PROBLEM STARTED TO SHOW BUT WAS FIXED. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS THE WORST. WHEREIN EVEN BACKING UP MADE THE NOISE LIKE THE WHEEL WOULD SEPARATE. THIS WAS REMEDIED WHEN THE CALIPER WAS RECALLED. THE THIRD TIME I TOOK THE VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE ABS THAT MAKES THE NOISE. I UNDERSTAND THAT ABS APPLIES IN A SUDDEN BRAKE. BUT THIS WHOLE INCIDENT HAPPENS EVEN DRIVING AT 10-15 MPH. ALTHOUGH, EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS, I STILL HAVE TO TAKE MY SUV BACK TO THE DEALER DUE TO THE SAME RATTLING NOISE. THE SERVICE MANAGER KEEPS ON INSISTING THAT THIS IS NORMAL. THIS IS NOT NORMAL IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE BECAUSE IT DOES NOT DO TO MY FRIENDS VEHICLE, WHICH HAS THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL AS I HAVE. NOT TO MENTION, WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR A 30,000 MILES SERVICE. MY REGULAR MECHANIC FOR MY OTHER CAR NOTICED, THAT THE CABIN FILTER WAS MISSING. THE SEATS ON THIS AND TWO OTHER FX35'S WE OWN FROM INFINITI "ROCK" BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING. THE SEAT POSITION IS NOT STABLE. THIS IS ALSO WIDELY REPORTED WITH THE G35 AND INFINITI CANNOT FIX IT. I BELIEVE IT TO BE CRITICALLY DANGEROUS. THE SWAY BACK TO FRONT IS SUDDEN AND SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO JAR THE DRIVER CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL. MY SEAT LITERALLY ROCKS ABOUT 1/3" BACK AND FORTH LIKE A ROCKING CHAIR. WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE THAT DOES EXACTLY THE SAME THING. IN THE SNOW I CAN IMAGINE THE SUDDEN SWAY TO BE SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH THAT A DRIVER MAY LOSE CONTROL. I ALSO WONDER ABOUT CRASH DURABILITY. AS YOU KNOW ANY INCREASED TOLERANCE WOULD ALLOW AN IMPACT TO CAUSE MORE DAMAGE TO THE SEAT FRAME OF THE DRIVER, POSSIBLY CAUSING THE SEAT TO DISLODGE. *LA

Ever since I bought my infiniti the air bag light flashed rapidly on the dash. I received notice a couple years ago about the air bags being recalled.I took my vehicle to Roseville Infiniti and supposedly the airbags were replaced I expected it to take a couple hours it was in and out in under 2 hours. When i left the deLership the light was still blinking and never quit blinking. My concern was to call and ask why it was still blinking ? I was told that it probably wasnt reset however the air bag was replaced . I was in an accident recently and it was a serious frontal collision and not one airbag went off . I was seriously injured my hand was fractured my left leg was hurt and I had a concussion and cervical sprain this all would have been prevented had my airbags deployed.

THE RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS HAS KEPT ME FROM BEING ABLE TAKE MY KIDS TO THEIR EVENTS, TAKE PROSPECTS/CLIENTS OUT AND WHEN I CALLED INFINITY OF CHARLOTTE, NC-WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR THEY WOULD NOT OFFER ME A RENTAL UNTIL FIXED. INSTEAD THEY OFFERED TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG WITH THE EXACT SAME MODEL AIR BAG. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT REP SAID THERE WAS ONLY A 1% CHANCE THE BAGS WOULD DEPLOY SPRAYING SHRAPNEL THROUGHOUT THE CABIN. THERE HAVE BEEN 15 DEATHS ALREADY AND I WOULD NEVER RISK SOMEONE BEING KILLED OR DISFIGURED. I UNFORTUNATELY DON'T HAVE A RENTAL CAR SO I RISK IT EVERYDAY. APPARENTLY THE OTHER MODELS ALL GOT A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FROM ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR BUT NOT THE 2003 FX35.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI FX35. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSAXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL WERE FRACTURED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V164000 (POWER TRAIN). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHEN THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE HEAT SHIELDS THAT COVERED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND PIPES WERE RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND FILED A COMPLAINT ON BEHALF OF THE CONTACT, ADVISING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. I FOUND THE LOWER ANCHOR POINTS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET TO AN NOT VERY PRACTICAL FOR A PARENT TO USE. SEAT WAS INSTALLED COMPLETELY WRONG AND I WAS UNABLE TO INSTALL USING LATCH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI FX35. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE ENGINE, VDC, AND SLIP WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT WAITED TEN MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED LESS THAN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE LEFT AND RIGHT CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSORS WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED SHEEHY INFINITI OF CHANTILLY (LOCATED AT 4145 AUTO PARK CIR, CHANTILLY, VA 20151, (703) 372-0381) AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED BY PHONE THAT THE FAILURE COULD ALSO BE DUE TO A LOOSE WIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SHEEHY DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT CRANK POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 35590467. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.

IN ADDITION THE TIRE PRESSURE AIR SENSOR WAS ALSO SERVICED BUT WAS TAKEN BACK ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALERS PROPOSED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY FIX THE RIGHT TIRE AIR SENSOR UNDER WARRANTY BUT CHARGED FOR SERVICES TO THE LEFT TIRE AIR SENSOR. THE SERVICES WERE NOT DONE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS INFORMED OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS BETWEEN THE DEALER AND THE CONSUMER.
