There are times when driving under 50 mph brake light comes on and the brakes have goes out which cause me to do an emergency pullover turn off the truck for a few minutes and the brakes reset. This is very concerning for me. This has happened on a few occasions.

I HEAR I PING SOUND LIKE A SPRING, THE BREAK LIGHT COMES ON AND I AM UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AS NORMAL. APPEARS THE VEHICLE IS ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN BUT DOES NOT COME TO STOP AS IT NORMALLY SHOULD. ONCE I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF THEN BACK ON IT'S JUST FINE UNTIL IT RANDOMLY OCCURS AGAIN WHEN APPLYING THE BREAKS AND/OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IDLE AND THE BREAK LIGHT COMES ON. THIS ISSUE ONLY RESOLVED ITSELF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF THEN BACK ON. IT IS EXTREMELY ALARMING AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

THE BRAKES ON MY VEHICLE HAS A STRANGE REACTION WHEN I BRAKE AT TIMES AND IS HESITANT TO STOP. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN OFTEN BUT IT'S SCARY. USUALLY AFTER I STOP THE VEHICLE, CUT IT OFF & CRANK IT AGAIN THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY ONLY TO DO IT AGAIN ON A LATER DATE. AFTER GOING ONLINE I FIND THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM WITH INFINITI QX56 & NISSAN ARMADA'S. I'M SURE WHETHER OR NOT IT'S A ABS SENSOR MALFUNCTION OR WHAT BUT THANKFULLY IT HAVEN'T HAPPENED WHILE BEING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC BECAUSE I FEAR I'LL REAR END ANOTHER MOTORIST.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2008 QX56 AND WHEN SHE TRIED TO BRAKE HER FOOT WENT TO THE FLOOR AND SHE HEARD A GRINDING NOISE, SHE PUMPED AND PUMPED THE BRAKES BUT DID NOT NOTICE ANY MEASURABLE SLOWING DOWN OF THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF HER AND SHE WAS EVENATUALLY ABLE TO SAFELY PULL INTO A PARKING LOT AND STOP THE VEHICLE. UPON MY RESEARCH THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOW DEFECT. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I TOOK THE CAR, DIAGNOSED IT AS A DELTA STROKE SENSOR DEFECT. UPON RESEARCHING THIS THERE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST NISSAN/INFINITIE THAT THE PLAINTIFFS WON. IF THIS IS A KNOW DEFECT WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL? MY WIFE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED OR SHE COULD HAVE INJURED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE DUE TO THE CATASTOPHIC LOSS OF BRAKES. THIS IS NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE AND THEIR IS NO WARNING THAT IT WILL HAPPEN. YOU JUST LOSE THE BRAKES AND THE ABILITY TO STOP. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE DIES (IF THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY).

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP TWO TIMES IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS THE BRAKES SUDDENLY FAIL ALLOWING US NO ABILITY TO STOP THE CAR ALMOST CAUSING A SERIOUS WRECK. THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT (NOT ABS) ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. EVEN THOUGH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM THEY ARE NOT BEING ACCOUNTABLE OR HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SERIOUS CAR DEFECT. ACCORDING TO THE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT (WHERE THERE ARE MANY OTHERS REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM) THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE ACTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER AND VDC CONTROL UNIT. THEY RECOMMEND FOR ME TO PAY 2-3000 DOLLARS TO HAVE THE CAR FIXED FOR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. GIVEN THE SEVERITY OF THIS DEFECT IN THE CORE BRAKE SYSTEM ACROSS BOTH NISSAN AND INFINITI CARS AND THE FACT THIS WAS TAKEN TO COURT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR A FAILING BRAKE SYSTEM.

I was involved in an auto rollover accident on January2, 2023 when a driver "t-boned" me in my 2008 Infiniti Qx56 striking the middle of the passenger side of my Qx56 after running a stop sign and failing to yield to my right of way causing my Qx56 to roll over 3 times. My driver's steering wheel airbag did NOT deploy. To my knowledge all the other airbags did deploy. I suffered neck, right shoulder, and lower back injuries from the rollover but remained in the driver's seat as the seatbelt system worked well. My Qx56 was a total loss.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE AIR BAG SYSTEM SOFTWARE WAS RESTARTED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SPIRAL CABLE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY IS CRACKED AND CONDENSATION BUILDS UP, SHORTING OUT THE IGNITER. APPARENTLY MY MECHANIC SAYS THAT NISSAN AND INFINITI KNOW OF THE PROBLEM 8 MODELS FOR 6 YEARS (OR 6 MODELS FOR 8 YEARS) AND HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL. BUT THE PRICE FOR THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES AND IGNITORS ARE OUTRAGEOUS. THE PROBLEM IS SO PREVALENT, THERE IS A YOUTUBE VIDEO SHOWING HOW TO DRY OUT THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY AND CAULK IT TO REUSE! THIS MANY PROBLEMS AND NO RECALL SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS. IT COST ME $1000 TO REPLACE AN IGNITOR. IT WOULD HAVE COST $4,000 TO REPLACE TWO HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES. WHO HAS $4,000 TO REPLACE A COUPLE OF HEADLAMPS????? AND HOW IS THIS SAFE. IT IS ILLEGAL TO DRIVE WITH ONE HEADLIGHT. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD MAKE SURE THIS EQUIPMENT IS WORKING PROPERLY!!!!!

I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE USED, A FEW WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE I NOTICED CONDENSATION INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I'VE RECEIVED NO HELP IN SOLVING THIS PROBLEM FROM THE DEALER OR INFINITI THE COMPANY THEMSELVES NOW BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER HAVE CONDENSATION IN THEM IN.THE SITUATION IS SO BAD THAT IT BLOWS THE LAMPS SO THAT NIGHT DRIVING IS HAZARDOUS LET ALONE DANGEROUS . I CANNOT HAVE MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR DUE TO THIS. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IF I DRIVE OVER ANY KIND OF BUMP, OR GROOVE IN THE ROAD THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE BOUNCES AND SWAYS AND I HAVE TO GRIP THE STEERING WHEEL EXTRA TIGHT AND HOPE THAT I DON'T LOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR. THE 2008 INFINITY QX56 HAS SUSPENSION AND STEERING FLAWS THAT ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND MAY LEAD TO A CRASH. CAR DRIVES AND HANDLES FINE BUT OVER ANY ROAD IMPERFECTION THE STEERING WHEEL SHIMMIES AND SHAKES AND FEELS LIKE YOU ARE ABOUT TO LOSE CONTROL. STEERING WHEEL MUST BE HELD BY TWO HANDS AND EVEN THEN FEELS LIKE REAR END IS JUMPING AND ABOUT TO SEPARATE FROM FRONT END. I REPLACED SHOCKS AND VARIOUS OTHER SUSPENSION ITEMS AND HAD AN ALIGNMENT BUT THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE WAY THIS CAR HANDLES. ALSO FEELS LIKE STEERING COLUMN IS ABOUT TO BREAK OFF THE VEHICLE. I UPDATED AND REPLACED ALL SWAY BAR LINKS, TIE RODS, CONTROL ARMS, STEERING BUSHINGS AND OTHER SUSPENSION BUSHINGS AND NOTHING IS HELPING ADDRESS THE UNSTEADY FEEL OF STEERING. MULTIPLE INCIDENTS (3) OF BRAKING ISSUES WHERE VEHICLE LOSES BRAKING ABILITY HOWEVER, IT FEELS AS THOUGH THE ABS BRAKES ARE ENGAGING. ALL THREE TIMES THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AT OR ABOUT 40 MPH OR LESS AND DECELERATING SO I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COME TO A SAFE STOP. HOWEVER, I DO HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL NEARLY TO THE FLOOR AND THE "BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT ALSO COMES ON. . WHEN I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, IT RESETS AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER ISSUES IMMEDIATELY. THE THIRD TIME (TODAY) 12/12/11, I TOOK THE TRUCK TO DEALER AND THEY, AT FIRST, SAID THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THEN UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THEY CLAIM IT'S A SENSOR THAT WILL COST $1700 TO REPLACE. DISCUSSION THREADS I HAVE READ ONLINE (FROM AS FAR BACK AS 2004 UNTIL THE PRESENT) HAVE SHOWN THIS TO BE A CONTINUING PROBLEM ON NISSAN ARMADA'S (THE PARENT COMPANY OF INFINITI) AND THE QX56'S FROM MODELS 2004 TO THE PRESENT AND NISSAN CONTINUES TO IGNORE THE PROBLEM. SOME HAVE EVEN HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE AND ACCIDENTS. 2008 INFINITY QX56 BRAKE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. ON JUNE 30, 2011, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AND TURNING INTO A SUBDIVISION AND TRYING TO APPLY THE BREAKS, A LOUD SCREECHING SOUND WAS HEARD AND THE BRAKES FILED AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER PUMPING THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES THEY FINALLY WORKED. THIS WAS A DAY AFTER THE CAR WOULD NOT IN A PARKING LOT BECAUSE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. WE HAD AAA JUMP START THE CAR AND WERE INFORMED THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED OR NOT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE. THE COMPUTER DID NOT REGISTER THE BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON SO THEY HAD NO MORE INFORMATION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI QX56. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AT SPEEDS OF 7 MPH, A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL OF HIS VEHICLE. The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti QX56. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly stalled. Additionally, the contact became aware that the vehicle was experiencing inaccurate fuel gauge reading. The contact stated that the fuel gauge indicated that there was fuel in the vehicle while the fuel tank was empty. There was no warning light illuminated. No further information was available. The vehicle was taken back to the residence. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V074000 (Fuel System, Other) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

WHILE DRIVING TO THE GAS STATION MY 2008 INFINITY QX56 SIMPLY DIED. I HAD TO PULL TO THE RIGHT TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC ON A BUSY STREET. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ( FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE) AND WAS TOLD I WAS PROBABLY OUT OF GAS. I HAVE NEVER IN 26 YEARS OF DRIVING RUN OUT OF GAS AND THE GAS METER SHOWED 1/8+ FULL. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON AN INTERNAL GAGE IN THE TANK. THE DEALER HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE RECALL FOR WEEKS, BUT, I WAS TOLD, CUSTOMERS WERE NOT INFORMED BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T SURE HOW THEY WERE GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A HAZARDOUS RECALL THAT IS BEING HANDLED WITH TOTAL DISREGARD. RUNNING OUT OF GAS CAN CAUSE CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENTS. HAD I BEEN INFORMED IMMEDIATELY, I COULD HAVE PREVENTED MY INCIDENT. I WAS IN DANGER, BUT THANKFULLY I WAS UNHARMED. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT WOULD/COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY OR IF MY 16-YEAR-OLD HAD BEEN DRIVING. I NOW KNOW THAT UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO FIX IT, I CANNOT LEAVE MY GAS TANK UNDER 1/2 FULL.

There was previous recall on this vehicle, 10V-074 (Infiniti #R1011) for a fuel sender problem, causing the fuel gauge to be inaccurate. Infiniti says it was fixed in 2010. Unfortunately, I am having the exact same problem now, and have run out of gas twice because of it. Infiniti said they can't help because it was already fixed. Safety issue because running out of fuel while driving is dangerous. Both times has been on an interstate. It was a previously reported recall and "fixed" but has failed again. Infiniti says they won't fix it again.

THE AIR FLOW PANEL ON MY DASH HAS MELTED AND IS CAUSING AIR FLOW PROBLEMS. I FEEL IT IS UNSAFE TO RUN HOT AIR IN THE WINTER TO DEFROST THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND WHEN I DO RUN IT THE FLOW IS SOME WHAT BLOCKED.

APPARENTLY AS ALL OTHER COMPLAINTS ARE SIMILAR WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON AND AS I APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE TO STOP THE SCRUBBING AND SCRAPING SOUND IS UNBEARABLE, I'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS BAD FOR INFINITI QX56. MY QUESTION IS SOMEWHAT IRRELEVANT NOW, SEEING THAT THE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLES IS ALREADY DONE. I HAVE OWNED TWO VEHICLES MADE BY NISSAN, A 2004 ARMADA LE AND NOW A 2008 INFINITI QX56. BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING, WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO BRAKES UNDER 40MPH THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE AND THE BRAKES SKIP. YOU CAN TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND BACK ON AND SOMETIMES THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OFF AND EVERYTHING IS FINE AND SOMETIMES IT IS NOT. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO RHYME OR REASON. SOME DAYS IT NEVER COMES ON AND SOME DAYS IT NEVER GOES OFF. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE IT APPEARS THAT IT IS AN ISSUE WITH THE COMPUTER MODULE AND A SOFTWARE UPDATE IS NEEDED. PLEASE FIX THIS. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IT WAS VERY SCARY! I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 3 KIDS AND THOUGHT THAT MY BRAKES HAD WENT OUT COMPLETELY. SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID ELECTRONIC ISSUE AND NOT OWNER ERROR. THIS COULD HAPPEN AT ANY TIME WITH THIS TRUCK. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID PROBLEM IS COVERED IF TRUCK LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD OR 60,000 MILES. ON 9-4-2011 I LEFT TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA. AS I GOT TO THE EDGE OF TOWN I NOTICED IT STARTED TO IDLE SLIGHTLY HIGH. BY THE TIME I GOT TO THOMASVILLE, GEORGIA, IT WOULD ACCELERATE TO ABOUT 45 MPH WITHOUT ANY ACCELERATION PRESSURE AND THE BRAKES WERE REQUIRED FREQUENTLY. BETWEEN THOMASVILLE AND MOULTRIE, GEORGIA, IT WOULD ACCELERATE INDEPENDENTLY BUT IT WOULD DROP DOWN IF I PRESSED AND RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR. IT ALSO SEEMED TO MAINTAIN SPEED A BIT BETTER IF I USED THE CRUISE CONTROL. AS I TURNED ONTO MACK DEKLE ROAD JUST SOUTH OF MOULTRIE, THE ENGINE TACKED OUT INTO THE (MAXIMUM) RED AREA. IN A PANIC, I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH TO FORCE IT TO "PARK". I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AND IT REVVED TO MAXIMUM RPMS. I LEFT IT IN THE LANE AND CALLED MY WIFE WHO CALLED CTV TOWING. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES I STARTED IT AND IT IDLED NORMALLY SO I CAREFULLY MOVED IT TO THE LEE LEWIS ROAD (LESS TRAFFIC AND SPEED). THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO NAPPLETON INFINITY IN TALLAHSSEE, FLORIDA ON MONDAY. I CALLED THE INFINITY DEALER TO TELL THEM IT WAS COMING. AFTER RUNNING COMPUTER CHECKS AND TEST DRIVING, THEY CONCLUDING THAT THE ACCELERATOR WAS HUNG ON THE FLOOR MAT. THAT IS ACTUALLY NOT THE CASE AS THERE WAS AN OBVIOUS SPONTANEOUS ACCELERATION THAT STARTED IN TALLAHASSEE. LAST WEEK I EXPERIENCED TWO SEPARATE, UNRELATED SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH MY 2008 INFINITI QX56. ON THURSDAY THE TRUCK ABRUPTLY LOST ALL POWER INCLUDING POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND CAME TO REST ON A HIGHWAY. IT TURNS OUT THAT I HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL, DESPITE THE FUEL GAUGE READING JUST UNDER HALF A TANK REMAINING. I HAD EARLIER BEEN NOTIFIED OF A RECALL REGARDING THIS ISSUE, BUT WAS ON A WAIT LIST DUE TO LACK OF REPLACEMENT PARTS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE RECALL THE NEXT DAY, FRIDAY. ON SUNDAY, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST IT'S BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL FELL TO THE FLOOR, AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED SINCE THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR; HOWEVER, THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE WITHIN TWO MONTHS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ONLY A HALF TANK OF FUEL COULD BE CONSUMED IN THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF THE POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD.
