The past month or 2, I started having issues with my car where it would stop while driving. The engine is running, but my car would slow down, brakes and wheel would stop and I’m not able to move after that. Luckily none of this has happened on the expressway, but I am always concern if it were to happen at a high speed that an accident could happen, plus I’m a mother of 2 so I’m even more cautious when driving it. My father checked it and got a code of P0007 “Fuel Shutoff Valve Control Circuit High” I had 2 different mechanics look into it and both stated fuse box (while the last mechanic said he got the same code my dad did as well) I took it to the dealer recently and was told ABS module but currently on backorder.

As I was turning left at a green light my engine stopped and I was unable to move the wheel. I was able to restart it but that was extremely scary and I have looked up the issue and it is not just me as alot of other Compass owners are reporting the same issue. The vehicle is immaculately maintained as my husband is a certified mechanic. A recall needs to be issued for whatever this is.

While driving at a constant speed without being rear ended passenger side headrest deployed slamming into the back of the passenger head. Passenger’s head was knocked forward with violent force. There have been reports of others having the same thing happen with the headrest in the jeep compass. Police were not notified. Dealership will be contacted this week about the headrest malfunction.

Additionally, while coming to a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate immediately. The vehicle was taken to the auto zone, where codes P0420 and P0430 (Catalytic Converter) were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair: 15V878000 (steering); however, the dealer informed the contact they were unable to perform the recall repair due to a restriction on the vehicle for a rebuilt title. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

VEHICLE STARTED STALL WITHOUT WARNING WHEN DRIVING. NO ERROR CODE IS RECORDED IN CAR. NO CHECK ENGINE OR OTHER LIGHTS APPEAR ON THE DASH. THERE ARE MANY BLOGS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND WHEN I CONTACTED FIAT (JEEP) THEY HAD NO SOLUTION. IT IS DANGEROUS AND SOME TYPE OF RESPONSE FROM CHRYSLER IS NEEDED WITH A SOLUTION. THE PROBLEM IS RANDOM AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THREE MONTHS.

THIS 2015 JEEP COMPASS HAS HAD MULTIPLE DEFECTS UNTIL NOW: 1. IN AROUND MID 2015, THE 4 WHEELS LIGHT KEPT TURNING ON AND NOT ABLE TO BE TURNED OFF, THEN I SENT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT, WHICH COST ME A FEW HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE ELECTRIC WIRE WITHIN THE ENGINE BOX WAS NOT IN GOOD SHAPE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. 2. AT THE END OF 2017, THE CAR WAS SUDDENLY SHAKING HEAVILY AND JERKS WHILE ACCELERATING, AND A CONTINUOUS MUFFLED AND HOLLOW SOUND CAME OUT FROM THE ENGINE BOX. AND THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ON. I SENT IT TO THE DEALER FOR A FIX, AND THE FEE WAS PAID BY THE DEALER THEMSELVES. LATER THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION FOR MY CAR. 3. IN THE MID OF 2020, THE CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT FROM THE PARK(A SHIFTER STUCK IN PARK) WHEN IT WAS IN THE SURFACE PARKING OF MY APARTMENT. SO I HAD TO SEND IT TO THE GARAGE TO HAVE A FIX, WHICH COST ME A FEW HUNDRED MORE DOLLARS, AND SOME OF ITS ELECTRIC WIRED WITHIN THE ENGINE BOX WAS REPLACED.

While driving (with no collision or impact of any kind) the passenger side active head restraint deployed. Luckily no one was in the passenger seat, the impact could have caused injury. There were no warning lights or problems of any kind prior to or after the deployment. Upon inspection I was told there are some plastic pieces that hold the restraint in place that have broken.

I checked online and there’s tons of reports of this exact issue with no way to repair it or recall it. There’s only the option to replace it from a parts store and it’s $500. Please enforce this as a recall.

Passenger Headrest popped off (AHR deployed) while I was driving. After further inspection the plastic pieces inside that holds the whole headrest together broke off. I researched this issue on google and there has been a lot of complaints with this happening and even a class action lawsuit back in 2020. I tried to replace the part but the dealership wants over $500 for just the replacement even though this is a known defect with the headrests in 2010-2017 Jeep Compasses.

2months after purchase with only 42000 miles check engine light and ETC lights come on, horn stopped working, am/fm radio no longer working. Sometimes when check engine light and ECT lights come on, vehicle loses acceleration or accelerates on its on. Other times while driving engine stalls. Radio and horn have not worked since. Vehicle has been repaired several times by previous owner. Multiple stored codes when read at dealer. Dealer has no idea what is causing problems.

At 80000 miles stated doing weird electrical issues windows wouldn’t go up or down then they would auto lock on the doors wouldn’t kick in for miles then it stalled in traffic tried to restart sounds like starter is engaged already there crankshaft position sensor code so we replaced it it was fine for a couple months dies again in traffic was told starter replaced it it started once then sounded like the starter was already engaged when we went to start it later. Took to shop and had electrical systems checked and it is the TIPM that is bad I see this issue coming up often when I searched the internet for some information on the issues I was having Currently still in the shop awaiting parts and repair

I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AT ABOUT 25 MPH AND AS I CAME TO A STOP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER 5 DAYS OF DRIVING THE CAR IT HAPPENED AGAIN. AS I MERGED INTO THE EXPRESSWAY THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SLIP INDICATOR, TEMPERATURE WARNING LIGHT ALL CAME ON, AND PRND ALL HAD A SQUARE AROUND THEM. THE CAR WOULDN'T RUN PROPERLY, AS IF IT WAS STUCK IN FIRST GEAR. IT WOULDN'T DRIVE PAST 15MPH. TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND 7 WIRES WERE BURNED OUT. I BELIEVE THE WIRES THAT GO TO THE TRANSMISSION. HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE WIRES WERE OVER A SHARP EDGE ON THE BODY AND WHEN THE CAR MOVED THE WIRES WOULD RUB AGAINST THE SHARP EDGE BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING PROTECTING THE WIRES FROM THE BODY. HE ALSO SAID THERE WAS A SPARK MARK ON THE BODY OF THE CAR AND THAT WAS DUE TO THE SHORT CIRCUIT THE WIRES CAUSED.

I HAVE HAD MY 2015 JEEP COMPASS FOR 2 YEAR AND 8 MONTHS. I BOUGHT IT USED. SINCE THE MOMENT I BOUGHT IT, I HAVE HAD ACCELERATION ISSUES. MY CAR WON'T SHIFT INTO GEAR IMMEDIATELY WHEN I MAKE TURNS. JUST RECENTLY THE THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT STARTED BLINKING. AS OF TODAY THE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE OVER 20 MPH AND THEN I WASN'T ABLE TO ACCELERATE ANYMORE. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF, I WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND RESTARTED THE CAR. AS SOON AS I MADE A U-TURN THE LIGHT COME BACK ON. I PLAYED WITH THE DIFFERENT DRIVE SETTINGS AS A COASTED BACK HOME. ONCE I MADE IT HOME (6 MINUTES) THE THROTTLE LIGHT WENT OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON.

HOW IS THIS NOT A RECALL? CAR WON'T ACCELERATE WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE, AND MY THROTTLE SENSOR AND ENGINE LIGHT ARE ON. DEALERSHIP WANTS OVER $1000 FOR REPAIR, AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. I LIVE IN A HIGHLY POPULATED AREA, AND IT IS SO DANGEROUS WHEN YOUR CAR WON'T ACCELERATE DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC. POWER TRAIN

The minute the front tires start to slip on any surface, I lose power in the engine, I don't have front wheel drive or 4x4. The 4x4 light comes on the dash with an exclamation point and flashes. It rear drive shaft doesn't engage. This makes my vehicle useless. The smallest amount of mud, snow or ice/slush-the vehicle just doesn't work. Its very dangerous to be driving when this happens! I've seen some jeep Cherokees being recalled for the PTU (power train unit), but that's only something with the computer system. This problem I'm experiencing makes me believe the PTU is no good, and if that's the case this is going to be at least a $2500 fix or more!! I am not the first owner on this vehicle, I think I'm the 2nd. Why doesn't Chrysler give a full powertrain warranty regardless of which owner you are?!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000.

It’s been over a year since I’ve experienced stalling problems with my Jeep. At first, it would happen every once in a while. Now, it occurs everyday. There doesn’t appear to be a trigger as it happens while driving on an interstate, highway, while turning, etc. My Jeep will completely shut off and I will lose power steering. This has left me stranded in the middle of roads and on highways numerous times. The only thing I can do is put the car in park, turn the ignition off, put my safety hazards on, and pray no one hits me until it starts back up again. This has been a big mystery as no indicator lights appear on the dash board, nor do any codes appear on the reader when plugged into the vehicle. Many others Jeep owners have experienced this exact same issue and I have not been able to find the root cause of the issue and neither have the Jeep manufacturer dealerships.

2015 JEEP COMPASS LATITUDE 4X4 WITH A 2.4L ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 80,000 MILES ON IT. ABOUT A WEEK AGO WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE, NO POWER TO THE WHEELS AND THE ENGING STARTED CHUGGING. CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THE RPM'S WERE AT 1500 AT IDLE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT, ABS, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT TURNED ON. I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED A COUPLE SECONDS AND TURNED IT BACK ON. ALL THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF AND THE VEHICLE SEEMED FINE. I DROVE IT HOME AND HOOKED UP MY SCAN TOOL AND THERE WERE NO CODES SO I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO LOOK FOR. TWO DAYS LATER WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE WITH NO SHOULDER AND NO EXIT! THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND CHUGGED TO A STOP, HAD TO HOLD UP TRAFFIC TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON TO GET MOVING AGAIN. TWO MILES LATER IT HAPPENED AND WE HAD A SHOULDER TO PULL OVER ONTO. I STOPPED THE CAR AND TRIED TO SCAN THE ENGINE AND AGAIN NO CODES BUT THE DASH WAS LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE. AFTER TURNING IT BACK ON THE CAR WAS STUCK IN LIMP MODE AND WOULD NOT MOVE. IT COST US $719.67 TO HAVE IT FIXED NOT TO MENTION THE TOW.

I have had my vehicle for 5 years and the issue is getting worse as the years go by. When my “Low Oil/Change Engine Oil” light comes on, my vehicle stalls out and the lightening bolt indicator light flashes while driving.The indicator light comes on as I push the gas pedal. When I release the pedal, it goes out. Each time I attempt to accelerate/press the gas pedal, the vehicle stalls as if it’s not getting the gas it needs to accelerate. I had my fuel line and fuel pump checked and it is perfectly fine, I had a tuneup as well. I have this issue every single time that my “Low Oil/Change Engine Oil” indicator light comes on and I am constantly putting oil in my engine. I am paying out money to have my vehicle checked, constantly. I was informed of the issue and there are Class Action Suits being dismissed for the same mechanical issue that I have been having for 4 and a half years.

Component or System Involved: ABS module (Anti-lock Braking System), with apparent impact on transmission and engine performance. The component is still installed in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The vehicle will not drive over 45 mph or exceed 3,000 RPM, which presents a serious safety risk when attempting to merge, change lanes, or maintain safe speeds in traffic. The car has also shut off unexpectedly while in the driveway, raising concerns about stalling while driving. Service Confirmation: The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by Jeep Napleton in Kissimmee, FL as a failed ABS module. The replacement part has been on national backorder since March 2025. There was no ETA until September, when the estimated arrival date was September 17. That date has been pushed back several times, with the current ETA now October 8, 2025 — with no guarantee it won’t be delayed again. Inspection History: The vehicle was inspected and diagnosed by an authorized Jeep dealership (Jeep Napleton). The ABS module failure has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Warning Lamps and Symptoms: Dashboard warning lights for ABS, transmission, and check engine have been on consistently. Symptoms first appeared in March 2025. The car has about 100,000 miles on it.

This jeep compass had been a nightmare since we got it. The 4wheel drive/parking break is stuck ON. We gave had it replaced already, the repair lasted a week. And now it's stuck ON again. It's dangerous. It's costing us gas money, repair money, we have to keep replacing our brakes. We drive 50 minutes to and from work each way 5 days a week. Ontop of that. The headrest EXPLODED while we were on the highway. And is now just dangling off the seat. There are several other issues with this particular vehicle, like some days. It decides to turn on, others it doesn't. Evidently there is "nothing wrong with it" when we take it in. The key gets stuck on the ignition. We paid $11,000+ for this vehicle, and if you ask me, it's a lemon from the factory, and a safety problem.

My 2015 Jeep Compass will randomly stall while I am driving... randomly breaking while im driving. Then very frequently it will not let me drive past 20 miles per hour (sometimes slower than this). It randomly acts like this. It always feels like it does not want to accelerate... it will sometimes but most times doesn't. I have taken it to both a private service center and to the dealership multiple times. The dealership states each time they see nothing wrong with my car. No codes pop up. Also when this happens nothing pops up on my dashboard. Driving this car has put me at risk multiple times that I refuse to drive it now. The last time I drove it, it was going 10 mph and I was reversing into my driveway and the car randomly sped up while I was reversing then went back to going super slow. I know someone in the same area as me with a jeep and she said her jeep has been doing similar things and the dealerships don't know what's wrong with it. The car has a mind of its own and is unsafe to me the driver and the drivers around while it is on the road. Nothing was wrong with my car prior to this... this randomly started happening and never stopped months later.

Prior to the failure of the rear drive axles there were 2 instances of the 4WD lamps coming on. Reset the lever and light went out.Another instance had the ABS light come on.After several miles the light went off. The next morning while driving to the independent repair shop the car completely stopped on a Blvd in the middle of traffic.Luckily I was not rear ended by another vehicle.The car needed to be towed to the shop. Upon inspection by the tech was the rear drive axles had become corroded and needed to be replaced.As well as the backing plates.The vehicle is 8 years old and has 62,000 miles.

Ever since I bought this car the time on the dashboard has started changing on its own.Even after resetting it the time will slowly start changing on its own it still hasn’t been fixed since the service station doesn’t know what’s wrong and it’s too expensive for me to pay to have it taken apart. The airbag lights are constantly flashing go on and off as well as the tire pressure light even though the tire pressure is on the right setting. Most recently the belt under the hood has snapped this will be a second time, it has snapped with in a week of buying the new belt. I have had at least 3 recalls that I know of.Save your money and buy a Toyota.

The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that after one week, the failure reoccurred. I FEEL THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED. I SEE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. WILL THIS BE RECALLED. IT COST ME OVER $500.00 TO FIX THIS. NEXT THING I KNOW MY RPMS WERE ALL OVER (LIMP MODE) AND MY CARS POWER STARTED TO STALL. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND WAS IN A REALLY BAD SPOT THAT HAD NO SHOULDER. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS LIT. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT INTO A PARKING LOT. THIS WAS QUITE A SCARY SITUATION AND HAD ME FEARING FOR MY SAFETY. I LOOKED UP THIS PROBLEM AND SEEMS LIKE QUITE AN OCCURENCE. I HAD MY TRUCK TOWED TO THE NEAREST JEEP SERVICE STATION AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD TO PUT ME ON EMERGENCY LIST FOR LOANER VEHICLE (MIND YOU, I LEASE MY JEEP) AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE BACKED UP IN SERVICE. THAT LOCATION TOLD ME IT WAS A PCM CODE ERROR. I CALLED OTHER SERVICE LOCATIONS AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO TOW IT TO MY HOME STATION IN ORDER TO GET A LOANER. THE CAR SAT FOR OVER A WEEK AND WAS FINALLY LOOKED AT TODAY. I AM NOW TOLD THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MY JEEP HAS VERY LITTLE WEAR AND ONLY HAS 53,000 MILES. THIS ISSUE IS WAY TOO COMMON TO NOT BE CONSIDERED AS HAZARDOUS.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC),ENGINE

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS NOW, MY JEEP SUDDENLY LOSES POWER AND DECELERATES. THE ENGINE LIGHT, ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT AND STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT COME ON, THE JEEP RUNS VERY ROUGH AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER PULLING OVER AND TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND THE OTHER LIGHTS GO OFF BUT AFTER DRIVING A BIT THE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN. WHEN SCANNED THE CODE IS U0401 STATING THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH COMMUNICATION TO THE PCM. THERE IS ONLY 88700 MILES ON THE JEEP. THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY IS GOOD TO 100000 BUT THE DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THE PCM IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE THERE ARE MANY REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHE JEEP COMPASSES AND PATRIOTS. BOTH TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY IT HAS BEEN A PARTICULARLY SCARY SITUATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE JEEP RAPIDLY DECELERATES AND THE TRAFFIC BEHIND ME HAS HAD DIFFICULTY SLOWING AS QUICKLY. I'M HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY 2015 JEEP COMPASS (50,000 MILES) NOT ONLY THAT, THE DEALERSHIP HAS EITHER NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT OR THEY DON'T WANT TO. IF I DIED, MY SON WOULD BE ORPHANED. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WITH NO WARNING MY ENGINE HAS SHUT DOWN. MY CAR DOESN'T TURN OFF, IT JUST WON'T DRIVE ANYMORE . THE ONLY LIGHT THAT COMES ON IS THE ESC ACTIVATION/MALFUNCTION. I HAVE TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON TO GET IT TO GO. IT HAS DONE THIS AT LEAST 10 TIMES NOW. I NEARLY GOT INTO A ACCIDENT TRYING TO TURN LEFT, AND AGAIN MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY. THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES HARD TO TURN AND I CAN PUT THE GAS PEDDLE ALL THE WAY DOWN, IT DOES NOT ACCELERATE. NO RPMS. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE SCANNED FOUR TIMES AFTER IT HAS HAPPENED. I'VE BEEN A RENTAL CAR FOR THREE DAYS NOW. THERE ARE NO CODES IN THE COMPUTER. AND THEY SAY THEY NEED TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE IN ORDER TO FIX IT. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM DESPERATELY TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT.

SEAT BELTS,SERVICE BRAKES

ABOUT 10 DAYS AGO, MY JEEP COMPASS WAS INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT WHERE I HAD TO APPLY MY BRAKES ALL OF THE SUDDEN, AS A DEER JUMPED RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE,OUT OF BUSHES. AS I WAS APPLYING BRAKES, THE ABS BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE, AS MY BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT TAP BACK, AND WHEN JEEP FINALLY STOPPED, DRIVER SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK, AS IT SHOULD HAVE, AND I HAVE HIT MY HEAD ON THE CEILING, AT THE POINT WHERE IT MEETS THE WINDSHIELD. THE INCIDENT HAS REOCCURRED WITH SEATBELT FAILING TO LOCK AGAIN, TODAY, 10 DAYS AFTER THE ISSUE WAS REPORTED TO JEEP OFFICIALS, WHO HAVE FAILED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE AND APPROPRIATE ACTION IN THIS POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING MATTER. AS I HAVE EXCRETED ALL AVAILABLE RESOURCES OF GETTING HELP IN THIS INCIDENT RESOLUTION,I KINDLY ASK U.S. GOVERNMENT TO TAKE CHARGE OF THIS ISSUE AND INVESTIGATE IN AN APPROPRIATE MATTER, AS I MAY BE NOT THE ONLY OWNER AFFECTED BY THE DRIVER SEATBELT FAILURE AND THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE POSSIBLE FATALITIES OCCUR RELATED TO SIMILAR VEHICLES BEING INVOLVED IN ACTUAL MVAS AND DRIVER SEATBELT NOT ENGAGING THE LOCKING MECHANISM, WHEN NEEDED. AS IN BOTH INCIDENTS MENTIONED ABOVE, MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AS A RESULT OF BRAKE PEDAL APPLICATION. I PURCHED MY CAR IN 2015, AND FROM DAY ONE THERE WAS A SQUELLING SOUND COMING FROM THE WHEELS. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALLER TO BE LOOKED AT, I WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL WAS OUT OF LINED. I HAD THE ALINEMENT DONE, BY THE DEALER, SO THEY SAID THAT THEY ALINED THE WHEELS; BUT THE SQUELLING DID NOT STOP. A FEW MONTHS LATER I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED BRAKE SHOSES ON THE REAR, WHICH WAS REPLACED. I STILL WAS NOT HAPPY. NOW, AT 32,000 MILES I AM TOLD THAT I NEED NEW TIRIES AND A WHEELS ALINEMENT. I AM NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!! THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING MORE GOING ON WITH THE WHEELS ON THIS CAR. THE WHEELS ARE STILL SQUELLING!!

THE POWER STEERING RETURN HOSE WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE FRONT SUSPENSION SWAY BAR AT CURB CONDITION WITH THE VEHICLE STATIONARY. THE SWAY BAR MOVES A COUPLE INCHES WITH SUSPENSION TRAVEL AND THIS WILL RUB ON THE POWER STEERING HOSE CONSIDERABLY AND CAN WHERE A HOLE CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST AND A FLAMMABLE FLUID SPRAYING IN THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST AREA. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT FCA HAS BEEN SHIPPING VEHICLES LIKE THIS IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF THEIR SAFE DESIGN GUIDELINES OR AT LEAST 1.5 YEARS NOW FROM JULY OF 2014 UNTIL NOW. I WORKED AT FCA IN 2014 AND TOLD THEM TO CONTAIN THIS ISSUE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND I WAS IGNORED BY MY FCA MANAGEMENT AND PLANT QUALITY PEOPLE.

ALL ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON, ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS STARTED GOING OUT, THEN CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MILES PER HOUR, EVEN WITH THE ACCELERATOR PUSHED ALL THE WAY DOWN, THEN THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON THE MIDDLE OF A VERY HEAVILY TRAFFIC ROAD. POWER STEERING, ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND ENGINE REFUSED TO WORK. HAD TO HAVE THE COMPASS TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER AND PROBLEM WAS THE ENTIRE COMPUTER SYSTEM WENT OUT. 4 MONTH OLD VEHICLE AND THE ENTIRE COMPUTER SYSTEM FRIED. TOOK 6 DAYS TO GET IT REPLACED. NOW TWO MONTHS LATER THE EXACT SAME THING HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE. SAYS IT'S UNDER WARRANTY AND WILL BE FIXED, BUT DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THE SEVER DANGER THIS DEFECTIVE VEHICLE PUTS MY FAMILY AND ME IN WHEN WE DRIVE IT WITHOUT KNOWING WHEN AND WHERE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WILL BLOW AGAIN. WHAT IF I WAS PULLING OUT OF AN INTERSECTION AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN LIKE THIS AND MY FAMILY GETS HIT BY TRAFFIC. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!

I WAS PROCEEDING THROUGH A GREEN LIGHT. A CAR COMING FROM MY LEFT RAN THEIR RED LIGHT AT FULL SPEED (APPROX. 30 MPH) AND CRASHED INTO MY CAR. MY ENTIRE FRONT END WAS DAMAGED. IT WAS PUSHED IN AT LEAST 10-12" ACCORDING TO THE RESPONDING FIRE DEPARTMENT & EMT'S MY AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY GONE OFF AND IT DID NOT. I WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR NECK PAIN.
