The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while accelerating from a complete stop at a stop sign at approximately 5 MPH, the contact heard an abnormally loud banging sound followed by an abnormal grinding sound coming from underneath the vehicle, near the driver's feet. The vehicle then shifted to neutral and failed to move. The contact was able to turn off the vehicle after disconnecting the ECM. The contact was able to push the vehicle to the side of the road with assistance, and the vehicle was left on the side of the road overnight. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the sheer pins and the power transfer unit (PTU) connection had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train). The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving out of the driveway, the transmission unexpectedly shifted into neutral. The shift to park message was displayed on the screen. The shifter became stuck and failed to shift to park(P). The vehicle was restarted. While driving 55 MPH, the message “Shift to Park" was displayed. The "Vehicle was at too high a Speed" message was displayed. The vehicle failed to shift into park. The vehicle failed to move. The drive warning light was flashing, accompanied by an abnormal dinging sound. Upon further research, the contact was able to link the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train). The contact called the local dealer, who confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

I was taking my daughter to school and we were stopped at a light when the check engine light came on. When the light turned green and I pressed the gas the vehicle didn’t seem to respond at all and I rolled my car at the right turn and parked it. I turned it off and back on and it was still doing the same thing. I had someone pick up my daughter and take her to school. I started scheduling a tow but after it sat for a while it was able to drive to a shop for inspection where they tested it and received the error code: P076F = Gear 7 incorrect ratio. I was told the entire engine needs to be replaced. The vehicle has low mileage. Our safety was at risk because I had no warning to get the car to the shop before a major malfunction. I was very fortunate my car was stopped at the time. If I was waiting at a left turn in an intersection we could have had a terrible collision. The exact problem has not been reproduced. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer.

Dash damage causing visibility issues. The dash in this vehicle and many other Jeeps with a leather dash, the leather has separated from the dash body and is causing visibility issues when driving. My vehicle is stored in garage or with a sunshade on at all times, but the leather dash has still separated, this issue has been recalled in other years and needs to be address in 2017 Jeeps as well. Repairs of this issue are unaffordable due to the labor that is required to repair. GM should address this problem with GM vehicle owners.

Pass. side active head restraint deployed unexpectedly. Dealer replaced part under “warranty extension x88”. When I contacted Jeep manufacturer: 1-800-334-9200, I was told the manufacturer will NOT replace the driver side head restraint until it self deployed! An accident waiting to happen! My wife and I travel a lot, pulling a travel trailer, so I now have a fear that this active head restraint will also self-deploy. SHAME on the manufacturer. I won’t be considered an “acceptable risk”. Please help me convince the manufacturer to stand by their warranty. Thank you.

I purchased a used 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I only drove the jeep for 2 days and the check engine light came on. On the way to the mechanic the jeep overheated. I was left on the side of a busy road and put in a dangerous situation. When I made it my mechanic shop, the mechanic explained the 3.6 engine has repeat issues with overheating! I now have a vehicle I cannot drive. Why has there not been a recall if this is an issue for many with this engine?

DEC 2020: IN A PARKING LOT, THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT START. MY MECHANIC BYPASSED THE BUILT-IN FUEL PUMP RELAY IN THE TIPM BUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. TOWED TO CAMPBELL JEEP, BENTON AR & THEY DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH FUEL PUMPS WERE BAD. DEALER COULD NOT GIVE REASON BOTH PUMPS WENT OUT BUT I SUSPECT THAT STATEMENT IS UNTRUE GIVEN THAT MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THE TIPMS HAVE BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM SINCE 2010. COST OF THE REPAIR WAS $1,871.96 3/23/21: AT HOME, THE JEEP WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT START AS BEFORE IN DEC 2020. SAT THREE HOURS THEN STARTED. CONTINUES TO START BUT AFTER RESEARCH I SUSPECT THAT THE BUILT-IN FUEL RELAY IN THE TIPM IS BAD BUT ALLOWS FOR INTERMITTENT STARTING. I CORRESPONDED WITH AN ENGINEER IN MARYLAND THAT HAS DEVISED FUEL RELAY BYPASSES FOR CHRYSLER'S DEFECTIVE TIPMS. I AM PURCHASING A BYPASS FROM HIM FOR $36. WERE THE FUEL PUMPS BAD IN DEC 2020 OR WOULD THIS $36 PART HAVE REPAIRED IT? IN MY RESEARCH, IT HAS ALSO BEEN REPORTED THAT THE DEFECTIVE TIPM MAY CAUSE THE FUEL PUMPS TO CONTINUE RUNNING AFTER THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF. DID THE FUEL PUMPS OVERHEAT BECAUSE OF THAT OR DID THE DEALERSHIP MISDIAGNOSE BAD FUEL PUMPS AND CHARGE ME FOR WORK THAT DID NOT NEED TO BE DONE? ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS (AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS) HAS THE GAS NOZZLE AUTO STOP BEEN ACTIVATED UNNECESSARILY DUE TO THE ANGLE OF THE TANK CAUSING GAS TO ONLY COME OUT FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS AT A TIME, WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO TELL IF THE TANK IS FULL AND INCREASES RISK OF OVERFILL. CURRENTLY, ON 2 OCCASIONS (AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS) HAS THE GAS NOZZLE FAILED TO STOP, WHICH CAUSE GAS TO SPRAY OUT ONTO MYSELF AND THE GROUND.

ABOUT A YEAR AGO I WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO PUT GAS IN MY CAR UNLESS I INVERTED THE HANDLE OF THE PUMP. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO DODGE TO GET IT FIXED. I HAD A PREVIOUS DODGE VEHICLE THAT HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THE FILLER NECK AND IT WAS FIXED ON A RECALL. I WAS EXPECTING THIS TO BE THE SAME, BUT THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS A BAD GAS TANK AND NEEDED REPLACING FOR SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. THEY REPLACED THE GAS TANK AND IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM! NOW THEY ARE SAYING CHRYSLER IS BLAMING THE GAS PUMPS, AND THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM, AFTER CHARGING ME FOR A NEW GAS TANK! THEY NEED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR DESIGN, AND FIX IT VIA RECALL, AND REIMBURSE ME FOR UNNECESSARY REPAIRS WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT MANY CARS ARE COMING IN WITH THIS PROBLEM INCLUDING DURANGOS. I ALSO HAVE A 2020 JEEP I JUST BOUGHT AND THAT VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS SAME ISSUE A FEW TIMES.

WHEN TRYING TO FUEL OUR VEHICLE THE HANDLE CONSTANTLY STOPS, THINKING IT IS FULL. HOWEVER, MY WORK AROUND IS TO TURN THE HANDLE TO 3'OCLOCK AND ITS ABLE TO FILL THE VEHICLE WITHOUT INCIDENT, HOWEVER, YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE HANDLE IN THAT POSITION THE ENTIRE TIME. I HAVE SEEN OTHER PEOPLE POST ABOUT THIS TOO. NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE WITH MY 2015 JEEP. PLEASE NOT THAT THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVERY SINCE WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN MAY OF 2019.

Upon acceleration, the dash lights flicker or fully goes out for a few seconds, passenger side window constantly rolls down on its own, sunroof will not close fully if in an open position, car horn becomes very faint. Had car checked & explanation from the professional to all this, is that it could be the fuse box or alternator. Fuse box has been replaced, yet problem is still occurring. Alternator will be next & hopefully it fixes this problem as it is a hazard especially while carrying children in the vehicle.

When ever i move the steering wheel neck the traction control, the windshield wiper will not turn off. The signal lights and the back up line guide line will not work. When i took it to the shop i was told i fuse blow 3 times. And they don't know why. I think this is a defective system. And needs to be recalled asap

MY JEEP IS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A (START/STOP) FUNCTION. THE LIGHTS IS ON IN THE DASH AND THE SYSTEM IS NOT FUNCTION. I TAKE MY JEEP TO THE DEALER AUTHORITY AND DIAGNOSIS IS REPLACE THE 2 BATTERIES. I SPEND $165.00 FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND $495.00 FOR REPLACE BOTH BATTERIES AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUE. THE ISSUE IS WHEN I DRIVE AND I STOP MY JEEP IS SHUT OFF THE ENGINE WHEN PRESS A STOP PEDAL. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THE FAILURE CONTINUED FOR AN ADDITIONAL 3 TO 4 MINUTES. THE START BUTTON WAS STUCK ON RUN THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM SOUTHAMPTON 691 COUNTY ROAD 39A, SOUTHAMPTON, NY 11968; (631) 283-1600) WHO HAD NOT DIAGNOISINED THE VEHICLE AS OF YET. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

Driver's side head restraint exploded as I was pulling out of my driveway with no advance warning. Thankfully I was facing forward when it deployed, or it would have slammed into the back of my head. I found my extended warranty notice from FCA regarding this issue. Contacted my dealership and scheduled an appointment for repair/replacement on 11/1.

When using the heated seat feature, there was a faint electrical smell. It got worse after about 5 minutes. I shut the heated seats off and the smell started to disappear. I read some jeep forums and this seems a common issue in the jeeps with suede & leather seats for there to other be an electrical short, or “hot spot” on a certain part.

2017 Jeep grand Cherokee, 103k miles. I purchased my car new for around $45,000. All maintenance was done on time. Oil cooler assembly went out, then head gaskets, now I need a new engine. At 103k miles !Jeep has done nothing other than tell me sorry that will be $15,000 to repair. My engine is doing that loud clicking sound everyone is talking about. I’ve spoken with countless people this has happened to, some as early as 49k miles. There are videos online of mechanics bragging about how much money these engines are making them in repairs. Yet Stellantis still refuses to take responsibility for their 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine issues. Even though there is a current class action against them for it. There are full YouTube videos from mechanics explaining exactly why the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine fails and still Stellantis chooses to take more money from consumers to fix/replace their faulty engine. Now onto functionality of my vehicle, the start/stop engine problems I see people complaining about on here are real. The first thing I did when I got into my car was turn OFF my start/stop system. 20% of the time my system worked properly when left on. The rest of the time it was dangerous. The car would shut off when hitting the breaks and stall. I would be stuck on the freeway having to restart my car. I’m lucky it never caused an accident but it is terrifying being in the middle of the street and your car just shutting off and engaging the parking break and stuck in neutral. It’s happened more times than I can count, stop lights were where my car shut off most commonly. Usually would result in cars honking and people screaming to get out of the way while I scramble to get my car to turn back on. Over all, I’m so disappointed in this company and how it chooses to treat its consumers.. I was forever a Jeep owner until this week.

I came to a stop at a red light. The vehicle engine turned off and then right back on with out me taking my foot off the brake. Once the light turned green I pressed the gas and the entire car shut off. I didn’t have any lights for hazards, couldn’t roll down my windows or unlock the doors. It also wouldn’t go into park so I had to put on the emergency brake.

While driving dashboard displayed “shift to P then desired gear.” I stopped on the side of the road. Placed vehicle into park and tried to turn off the vehicle. The vehicle wouldn’t turn off, Displayed “vehicle not in park” Then I placed the vehicle into drive and the dashboard displayed again “shift to P then desired gear.” I was unable to turn off the vehicle no matter what gear I had it on. The check engine light was on, also the service 4WD, service shifter and the stability control. The vehicle also wouldn’t drive forward or reverse. At one point wouldn’t even park. The engine was stuck running for almost 3 hours until I was able to get someone out to pull a plug to shut the engine off. A diagnostic test was done while all the lights listed previously were still on. And no code would appear on the screen. Vehicle was towed and awaiting service.

There are a ton of posts on Reddit showing a bunch of 3.6l jeep owners all having the same issue with the VVT/VVL Solenoid. It seems to be all the same, the truck starts running very rough and like complete [XXX], CEL starts blinking, and then they check the codes coming up and they all seem to be getting codes p0456, p105d & p0302. The misfire is in cylinder 2 and the VVT Solenoid needs to be replaced at not even 70k miles. The bad solenoid caused the jeep to be undriveable. There are a ton of jeep owners who are all having this same EXACT issue with their jeep and yet this isn’t a recall?? Jeep obviously made a faulty truck. Please explain HOW THERE ISN’T A RECALL TO FIX THE VVT/VVL SOLENOID IN THESE JEEPS?? Some people are spending thousands to get it fixed at a dealer, which is seriously messed up bc it’s one little part and such an easy fix and just getting ripped off. JEEP NEEDS TO FIX THIS OBVIOUS VERY WELL KNOWN ENGINE ISSUE BC THATS ON THEM, THEY SHOULD HAVE TO PAY, NOT THE CONSUMERS who put all their faith into jeep to make a good running truck, only to get [XXX]!!! On [XXX], I was involved in an accident in Maryland while driving my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was raining and despite attempting to slow down, brakes performed poorly, causing my car to skid and collide with the vehicle in front of me. Fortunately, no one else was injured, but I sustained a neck injury, and my car was ended up a total loss. During the accident, I noticed the ABS warning light had activated. This, combined with prior experiences of delayed brake response, raised concerns about the vehicle’s safety. Having derive. For over 15 years without incidents, this was my first major accident and I suspect it may be linked to a mechanical issue. After learning about recent calls related ABS/brake issues in Jeep vehicles, I felt it was important to report my experience. I urge you to re-evaluate the safety of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s ABS and braking systems to prevent similar incidents in the future. ON 3 RECENT OCCASIONS MY BREAKS HAVE LOST ALL PRESSURE WHILE REVERSING EITHER INTO A PARKING SPOT OR BACKING OUT OF ONE, SO FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT TRAVELING VERY FAST. I HAD TO FORCE THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO BE ABLE TO STOP AND IT MADE A VERY LOUD GRINDING NOISE. ONLY IN 1/3 TIMES THE PAVEMENT WAS WET FROM RECENT RAIN.

VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON AND STATIONARY AT MY PRIVATE RESIDENCE, PLACED IN PARK (NO PARKING BREAK) FOR ME TO HOOK UP A CHAIN TO TOW A COMPACT TRACTOR (WITHIN THE TOWING SPECIFICATION OF THE VEHICLE). WHEN I WAS BEHIND THE VEHICLE I HEARD A LOUD THUNK AND THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY ROLLED BACK (WHEELS WERE ROTATING) AND SMASHED INTO THE COMPACT TRACTOR CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE TRUNK AND SIDE OF THE VEHICLE.

MY WIFE, (XXXXX), WAS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. SHE WAS IN A DRIVE-THRU, MOVING AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING. ROBIN WAS ABLE TO ROLL TO A STOP IN THE PARKING LOT. I RESPONDED TO THE SCENE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND OBSERVED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY HAD BECOME DISCONNECTED FROM THE BRAKE BOOSTER PLUNGER ROD, COMPLETELY DISABLING THE BRAKES. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE IS A RETAINER CLIP WHICH HOLDS THE PLUNGER ROD TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS RETAINER CLIP WAS NOT INSTALLED AND WAS NOT FOUND ANYWHERE IN THE AREA TO INDICATE IT HAD FALLEN OFF. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY WORK DONE TO THE VEHICLE AROUND THE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE FACTORY DID NOT INSTALL THE RETAINER CLIP, OR DID NOT INSTALL ONE CORRECTLY. THANKFULLY, THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT AND NO LIVES WERE LOST OR HURT. The contact owned a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an unknown speed, another vehicle crashed into the front driver’s side and caused the vehicle to be pushed off the road. The air bags failed to deploy. As a result, the contact’s wife was knocked unconscious, and sustained injuries to the neck, head, traumatic brain bleed and SIAHD. Medical attention was required. The other contact suffered a collapsed lung and broken sternum. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was deemed totaled. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

The UConnect touch screen in my vehicle is “delaminating” causing phantom touches to the touch screen. This is an extreme safety hazard due to it causing distractions to the driver when attempting to use the touch screen/radio/etc for its intended purpose. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by Jeep to my knowledge. The component has not been inspected. There were no warning signs.

SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT CAME ON DASHBOARD DISPLAY AND THE ORANGE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE P/D/N DISPLAY WENT OUT. JEEP WAS SERVICED AT JEEP DEALER AND DIAGNOSTICS DIAGNOSED SHIFTER BEZEL REPAIR NEEDED. PART ORDERED AND RETURNED FOR SERVICE AND SUBSEQUENTLY COULD NOT DRIVE OUT OF THE JEEP GARAGE! NOW A NEW SHIFTER UNIT IS NEEDED. THE JEEP LOCKED ITSELF IN PARK. THE TECH BROUGHT THE CAR OUT AFTER SERVICE AND WHEN I STARTED IT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I NOTIFIED THE TECH AND THEN HE COULD NOT GET THE JEEP OUT OF PARK. THEY PUT IT IN NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT BACK INTO GARAGE. CHECKED CARGURUS AND MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS FILED ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. MY 2015 JEEP HAD A SHIFTER RECALL. MAYBE STILL AN ISSUE JEEP????

The HID headlights failed and is available for inspection. Can't drive in the dark or rain, less visible to other motorists. Yes, confirmed by dealer. No other inspections. No notices were given. My friend noticed it and we drove home from an event at night with running lights. Numerous other Jeep Grand Cherokees have the same issue and do have the recall and repair available, but for some reason the Summit was overlooked and should be placed in the recall ASAP. Clearly, this is a Jeepwide problem and not limited by VIN number.

FOR THE SECOND TIME, I WAS PULLED OVER BY THE STATE POLICE BECAUSE MY TAIL LIGHTS WERE NOT ON AT NIGHT. IN BOTH CASES, IT IS LIKELY THAT WHEN I GOT OUT OF MY JEEP MY KNEE BRUSHED THE DIAL THAT CONTROLS THE HEADLIGHTS AND MOVED IT FROM "A" TO "O" (AUTO TO OFF). When I was driving onto the high way my jeep just cut off and I couldn’t accelerate only steer doing 45 mph with cars behind me and I saw on the dash a message “ shift to park. And then put into Desired gear” well it was on drive D and I couldn’t put it in park until I completely stopped at this point I had a guy pull over next to me and called me jerkoff because he thought I was trying to brake check him , I explained to him what happened . Well once I did this I got moving , but it happened again latter on that day when I was almost home . I dont feel safe driving it anymore

Issue with transmission/transmission control module. Jeep has a hard time shifting from Reverse, after 3 tries the gear is lost and vehicle must be shut down in order to try again. Once engaged, it'll "BANG" loudly, cause the tires to squeal, and then reverse is granted. Also have an issue going between 3rd and 4th gears. To shift, we have to increase pressure in the transmission, sometimes getting the RPM up to 6k before shifting is allowed. After three unsuccessful attempts, all gears are lost and you have to get down to 33 mph in order to gain 3rd gear back or you have to pull over and restart the vehicle.

THIS WEEKEND, THE 'SERVICE SHIFTER' WARNING CAME ON, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START, THE IGNITION STAYED ON AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF THOUGH THE ENGINE WASN'T RUNNING. THE SHIFTER LIGHTS FLASHED CONTINUOUSLY, THE WARNING SCREEN FLASHED THROUGH SEVERAL WARNINGS CONTINUOUSLY ALL NIGHT. THE BATTERY WAS DEAD THE NEXT MORNING. THE BACK DOORS WILL NOT OPEN, DISALLOWING ME ACCESS TO THE BATTERY (UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT). THE CAR WOULD BUCK AT INTERSECTIONS WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT LAST WEEK. I have replaced the water pump three times costing me close to $1000.00. No warning light has came on only the smell when it is leaking that my fiancé recognizes. So in this case do I have to wait until it starts to overheat and I am stranded on the side of the road? Why am I replacing an obvious faulty part? I also know that I am not the only jeep owner within the year of mine that has had this problem that Jeep doesn’t recognize? If needed I can provide copies of my receipts and dealership paperwork. Also why are the new water pumps protected with a warranty? Each water pump I had installed could have defects.

The exhaust manifold bolts cracked on my jeep Grand Cherokee hemi 5.7L which has caused a "tick" sound and my 7yr old can smell gas while inside the vehicle. We have taken to dealerships who refuses to fix under warranty. I called Dodge jeep of Tomball and They say it's not covered emissions. They also say it's common issue with the Hemi's. The problem is only getting worst and causes my son to have headaches. The problem is noticed on startup and acceleration.

Midway through a 2.5hr. drive, I approached a stop sign to make a right hand turn. When I came to a stop to check for oncoming traffic, the Jeep completely shut off on me. The cluster panel displayed “Shift to P to start” and the cluster panel was flashing all the warning lights. (vehicle was still in the ON position) I had then shifted the vehicle to Park, shut off the ignition and then restarted the Jeep. A very scary situation to happen during a normal drive. I have done some browsing and see that I’m not the only one who has encountered this problem. Due to the extreme safety issues at hand, I truly believe Chrysler should be investigating this underlying issue. (I’ve read some people have experienced this while driving on the main road with traffic. I’ve also read that one person experienced this and it ended in a vehicle accident.) This is a serious issue.

VEHICLE WILL BEEP AT YOU AND DASH WILL STATE "VEHICLE NOT IN PARK". FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED AT NIGHT AND I LOST ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS. OTHER TIMES WHEN ENGINE SHUTS OFF IT KEEPS RADIO AND INTERIOR DASH LIGHTS ON. MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS STATE THAT THEY CANNOT RECREATE THE ISSUE AND THAT NO CODES ARE BEING STORED. Not sure what component caused the vehicle to burst into flames. It is no longer (to the best of my knowledge) available for inspection (unless still at tow yard). The Jeep burned, caught another vehicle in the driveway on fire, as well as fence separating neighbor's house, and spread to structure (my house). Vehicle was inspected by ins. reps/others. It was taped off as battery was still live. Fire report states vehicle fire. Car was parked in driveway and was not driven for two days. No prior warnings or recalls.

Jeep randomly started loosing power and shutting down while on/driving. It causes the entire vehicle to freeze/seeze up. Hard to turn the wheel. Can't put in park. Starts glitching and lights/beeping going on and off repeatedly. Have to jump start and then it does the exact same thing and dies within minutes.

Let me preface this by saying, I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars trying to get this fixed. Changed Batteries. Changed Fuel Pump. Changed Sensors. Made sure everything is tight/plugged in properly. It's gone to Jeep and other shops but no one has been able to find or fix the issue. Probably about two years ago this started. I was driving to work as normal and stopped at a red light. When I tried to accelerate, the car kind of jerked a little like it didn't want to go and then chugged on. Leaving work the same day, it did the same thing, but instead of just jerking, the car completely stopped. The dash displayed a notification that said: "Shift to Park". All of the electricity was on (lights, air, dash) but the car somehow switched itself directly into neutral even though I was in drive. Brought it to the shop, and they changed some sensors. A few months later, the same thing happened while in heavy morning traffic. I had to hurriedly put on my hazards because my car was NOT able to move. Tried starting it up after the "Shift to Park" notification displayed and it wouldn't start at all. I turned it off completely, waited a few minutes, tried to turn it on again, missed twice, and on the third try it FINALLY came back on. Every day I drive my car now, I make sure to turn off the Auto-Start/Stop button because this was the one time this happened while it was still on. Brought it to the shop - they had another, TOTALLY DIFFERENT DIAGNOSIS. More recently, I hadn't had a problem in a few months - but leaving work in 4 pm traffic the car felt like it was jerking every time I had to slow down (which was every few minutes since it was traffic time). I finally made it to the on-ramp of the GNO to cross the river and while going around the roundabout, it happened YET AGAIN. It's dangerous. I'm surprised this hasn't led to severe accidents, injuries, or even deaths yet. It's absolutely ridiculous. There are thousands of forums online with people having the same issues. HELP!

WHEN LIFTING FOOT OF BRAKE TO PROCEED TO A TURN, THE ENGINE TURNS ON, VEHICLE MOVES, THEN TURNS OFF DISPLAYING, 'AUTO STOP/START NOT AVAILABLE', FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO AND A HALF MINUTES, I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION TRYING TO TURN OVER THE CAR. EVENTUALLY AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK, RELEASING THE BRAKE AND TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY, I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND TURNED ON THE VEHICLE SUCCESSFULLY. NUMEROUS OCCASIONS OF THIS VERY SAME INCIDENT HAVE OCCURRED IN RANDOM. RANDOM ENGINE SHUT OFFS WHILE IN MOTION HAVE OCCURRED AS WELL REQUIRING THE SAME STEPS LISTED ABOVE. VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THIS 'ECO TECHNOLOGY' 100% OF THE TIME UNLESS, A BUTTON IS PRESSED TO DEACTIVATE TEMPORARILY. (NO WAY TO PERMANENTLY SHUTOFF THIS FEATURE, NO SOLUTION FROM DEALERSHIP.)

My 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee would not start. The power connection on the starter burned and I could smell smoke emanating from the vehicle. My jeep required a tow to a local garage to be fixed. Upon my Mechanic examining my vehicle, he discovered the engine also had a blown head gasket. To fix these issues is estimated to cost $5k - $6k. My jeep only has 82,000 miles on it.

PULLING OVER AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE WOULD 'FIX IT' FOR 10-15 MINUTES UNTIL IT ALL HAPPENED AGAIN. ENGINE WAS MAKING AN AWFUL LOUD NOISE SO I PULLED OVER AGAIN. THIS TIME AFTER TURNING IT OFF THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AT ALL. AFTER 30 MINUTES IT STARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO A TOWN FOR THE NIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING I WAS ABLE TO START IT AND DRIVE IT IN 1ST GEAR (WHERE IT WAS STUCK) TO A JEEP DEALER. THERE IT SITS AS I TYPE. I HAVE SEEN MANY IDENTICAL ISSUES REPORTED BY JEEP OWNERS ON INTERNET FORUMS AND MOST WORRYINGLY, JEEP DEALERS DON'T SEEM TO HAVE A CLEAR ANSWER. THEY'RE COMMONLY REPLACING THE SHIFTER WIRING HARNESS BUT THE PROBLEM RETURNS FOR NEARLY EVERYONE. THIS INCIDENT STRANDED ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, AND LEFT ME VERY WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY. WHATEVER IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE HAS CASCADING ERRORS THAT AFFECT HEADLIGHT OPERATION (MY HIGH BEAMS WOULD NOW WORK), SLIP CONTROL (IT BECAME NON FUNCTIONAL EVEN IF I OVERRODE IT), WIPERS (IN MY CASE THEY CAME ON WITHOUT ANY RAIN AND I COULD NOT TURN THEM OFF...THEY COULD JUST AS EASILY HAVE NOT FUNCTIONED IN A DOWNPOUR CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD), AND BRAKING (THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ROCK SOLID AND NOT WORKING PROPERLY).

The steering wheel locked while making a left-hand turn. A minor accident resulted. Yes, the safety of the driver was put at risk with minor injuries resulting. A complaint was filed with Jeep and a case number was assigned by FCA. Insurance was contacted however it did not cover the cost of damage that caused the accident. The component was inspected by the Jeep representative however they blamed the part failure due to damage to the undercarriage prior to the incident. This damage was done during the transport of the vehicle after the accident due to the difficulty of towing on a flatbed truck with the tires stuck in the full-turn position and the apparatus needed to load.. There were no warnings or indications prior at all. The power steering fluid was full.

WHEN BEING TOWED BEHIND MY MOTORHOME, THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WILL GO INTO AN EXTREME "WOBBLE" DURING A SLOW SPEED, SHARP TURN TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT, EITHER FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR NEAR STOP ON THE ROAD THAT THE TURN ORIGINATES FROM. IF EITHER STEERING TIRE ON THE JEEP HITS AN IRREGULARITY IN THE ROAD SURFACE (I.E. A BUMP, MANHOLE COVER, POTHOLE), THE STEERING WHEELS ON THE JEEP BEGIN RAPIDLY TURNING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND BACK AGAIN. THIS ACTION VIOLENTLY SHAKES NOT ONLY THE JEEP BUT THE ENTIRE MOTORHOME TOWING IT. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE OSCILLATING WHEELS IS TO BRAKE HARD AND NEARLY COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING WHAT IS REFERRED TO AS THE 'DEATH WOBBLE' WHEN FLAT TOWED BEHIND MY MOTORHOME AND MAKING A TURN AT LOW SPEED. THE PROBLEM WAS TRACED BACK TO THE THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WHICH WAS NEW TO THE JEEP CHEROKEE AND ALSO GRAND CHEROKEE IN 2017. THIS PROBLEM CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS IF PULLING INTO A ROAD AND HAVING TO STOP BECAUSE OF A RISK OF LOOSING CONTROL OF THE JEEP VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING GARAGE, ONE SIDE ROADS, MAIN ROADS AND ON THE HIGHWAY. I BELIEVE THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE LANE DEPARTURE SENSOR. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 14K MILES ON IT AND IT HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR 5 TIMES. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I have a 2017 Jeep GC Limited with 55K miles that had the "Service Shifter" warning light come on. Vehicle ran fine no issues. Made appt. with local Jeep Dealership and drove the Jeep in yesterday (03/29/22). Ran just fine, I just wanted the light cause diagnosed and fixed. Dealership ran a diagnostic on it and informed me it needed an updated software flash. Conducted the Flash. NOW... the vehicle is inoperable without a complete Electronic Shift Module (ESM) replacement. They could not even reverse what they did so I could drive home. What they did was IRREVERSIBLE and I would have to leave the car there until they could find a NEW ESM and install it for $900! I had to take a Uber home and have no vehicle. This is not right for a vehicle with only 55K miles that was running just fine into the Jeep dealership. This is a very common problem on JEEP Cherokees. If ESM is known defective part by JEEP and is a Safety risk since many owners have the shifter lock up while driving the vehicle and cannot shift without shutting down the vehicle several times in the middle of traffic. Please help!

The vehicle had a complete shutdown while being driven. While driving on the highway, several dashboard warning lights began to appear. Within seconds afterwards, the headlights went out, along with the dashboard lights and radio. The vehicle became difficult to steer and then the vehicle lost all power, and could not be restarted. The vehicle was picked up from the dealership the day prior to this occurrence, and the PCM had just been replaced. The vehicle had been towed to the dealership just short of two weeks earlier, after it wouldn't start, having replaced the battery, and experiencing the passenger front window to randomly go down. This incident fortunately did not result in any crash or injury, however, it is only a matter of time if it isn't correctly diagnosed and fixed, as this problem results in an extremely hazardous condition.

Started my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee after a heavy snow fall the next day drove about 10 minutes and horn started going off lights exterior and interior started flashing, faults came across the screen to service every imaginable function from transmission to power steering and everything in between and truck just completely failed on the road. Waited roughly 30 minutes truck fired back up drove about 200 feet to a gas station while waiting for a tow truck. Brought to the dealership and they flashed 9 different modules. All seemed fine until another month. Remote started Jeep went to get in dash cluster screen black. Turned off and back on cluster came back but was delayed along with heck engine light. Drove back to dealership and was told they wouldn’t be able to look at it for 3 weeks. About a week after the cluster incident I go to leave my house, make it about 30 feet out of my driveway and truck stalls again exactly like how it did the first time. At a different mechanic now for it to get diagnosed. With the history of poorly made tipms in Chrysler products this seems to be a reoccurring theme.

Beginning two months ago my passenger side front window began rolling down on its own and the dash board lights would continually flash on and off. When at a stop sign or red light the vehicle idles down as low as 9. The battery was checked by the dealership and I was told it did not require replacement. The tachometer drops to zero while the vehicle is in motion and on two of those occasions the vehicle just shut off. When these incidences occur, which has been regularly for the past two weeks, upon exiting the vehicle I receive several palpable electric shocks. The car is now parked because I am afraid the car will set afire. I have been told by several dealerships that they can't get me in for a week or more to check the issue. I am very concerned for my safety due to this electrical issue, especially receiving the shocks.

On October 02, 2021, While driving at highway speeds the engine stopped running and the tachometer went to zero RPM. I was able to shift to neutral and cruise downhill until I could safely pull to the side of the road. I was able to shift back to park. The vehicle would not restart for approximately 20 minutes. During this time the electric windows would not roll up or down, the electric tailgate would not open but the electric drivers seat would work. After about 20 minutes the car restarted as if nothing had happened. The same thing happened 3 more times on the way home that same day. The same thing had happened 3 times over an 18 month period in 2018-2019. At that time, the jeep dealer could find no problems.

AFTER WASHING THE VEHICLE I DISCOVERED THE WHEEL WELL AND ITS SIDES STAINED FROM THE SLURRY. BROUGHT IT TO MEADOWLANDS OF CARMEL WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. It and it had a weird knock to the engine. Did get searched five times until it was figured out. It was the lifters and camshaft that failed at 82,000. it was fixed it did stall on the highway once before that. complete fix the water pump issue. for the fuel system the EVAP code keeps showing up every few thousand miles even though it's been checked and serviced. No leaks of any kind even the very small code leak. No leaks were found in any parts of the car

While driving on the freeway, in the fast lane, with children in the car the car lost all ability to accelerate, and lights came on. We had to coast to the side of the road and stop the car on the shoulder. We were almost hit while stuck there waiting for a tow truck. Nothing in the car worked, we were lucky to get one car window down as it was 103 degrees. We couldn't get out of the car bc we had two toddlers in car seats and no where safe to go. So we sat there praying and called family to come get us since we couldn't get kids into tow truck. Towed car to jeep and jeep wouldn't even look at it bc they were 3 weeks out diagnosis so we towed to closest mechanic and spent 2k to replace fuel pump. No warning lights messages or symptoms before. 6 months later the car started to shake when turned on and we took it to local mechanic who said I hope you have an extended warranty since jeep has known problems with cylinders and gaskets. We immediately took it to Jeep who said the head cylinders were blown and it was leaking. The car only has 60,000 miles so to have a terrifying situation on the freeway and then issues with the engine was equally scary when it is our family car.

TWICE WHILE IN MOTION, AFTER MAKING A TURN AND SLOWING FROM 35 TO ABOUT 14 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. ONCE IN DEC 2017, NEXT IN MAY 2018, I HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN BOTH CASES IN ORDER TO START THE ENGINE. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME.

Driving at approximately 20 mph on a busy highway, when accelerated to do a lane change, my vehicle did an extremely aggressive jolt and I can hear my engine struggling. I managed to move over lanes to the closest center divider and when i tried to put my car on "Park" it did not shift, it was stuck on drive. I had to apply the emergency foot break and turn off the vehicle. I quickly turned it back on and then i was able to shift to park. As i was being escorted by CHP to the right divider, the vehicle would jolt at the touch of the accelerator. I was unable to accelerate and the mechanic is saying my transmission gave out. No prior symptoms, no warning of any issues. The check engine light came on after the first jolt. The vehicle is currently in the mechanic shop. I'm being told that i need a new transmission.

After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Notice: T72 (Suspension). The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. I was on the highway and the vehicle shut off. On another incident I was driving the vehicle and the power steering wen out on the vehicle. On another incident after the power steering went out the vehicle put a notice on the dash to put the vehicle in park when the vehicle was already in park. I tried to turn the vehicle off and it would not allow me to do so. Then after repaired multiple times the battery started to over charge to 21 voltage. At this point, the vehicle is just not safe to drive.

Hello, I was driving my 2018 jeep grand Cherokee about 2 months ago when out of no where the car turned off as I came to a hill , the radio volume increased all the way and I couldn't control it , the main break locked, the wheel locked and my shifter lock, I started to roll back down the hill and I had to use my e-break. the car acted like it was turned off but it just died , the radio never turned back down until the tow company did something. i took it to jeep and they were super unhelpful , they said it was a starter , so i paid 2000 to replace the starter to no avail. Now the AC/Heat goes on by itself or just doesn't work, the radio will go all the way up and i cant control it. however jeep in Englewood Colorado said there is nothing wrong with the car.. I think there is a safety issue with the start stop /eco mode. I think once the car turns off to save gas its not turning back on and there is no safe system. i have contracted jeep multiple times to no avail, the car has died on the highway 3 times now once while i was traveling 65 mph . I have paid for 6000 worth of fixes and its still happening.

On Saturday, April 15, 2023 at approximately 1pm, I was driving my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit on Texas Hwy 16. The weather was clear and traffic was light. There was not a vehicle, within 200 feet, in front of mine. The glass sun roof / panorama roof was closed. I heard a loud bang as if something had struck the roof of my Jeep. I then heard glass cracking and wind noise. I did not see anything strike my Jeep or bounce off of my Jeep. I did not see anything lying in the roadway behind my vehicle. I stopped my Jeep and saw the stationary portion of the glass panorama roof was shattered. The movable glass sun roof was not damaged. I did not see any marks or damage to the painted metal roof or metal trim around the glass panel. The worst of the damage appeared to be located at the front corners of the panel, nearest the front of the vehicle. There was not a visible area of impact. I am currently trying to locate a repair shop to replace the glass. I have not made an insurance claim. I do not believe the glass was damaged by an object. It appears the glass shattered due to stress on the glass, possibly caused by an incorrect installation by the manufacturer or defective safety glass. My Jeep has not been involved in a collision, nor have I altered any portion of the vehicle. I believe that had the glass completely shattered and dropped into the passenger compartment of my Jeep, I ,and other occupants of my vehicle, would have been exposed to flying glass particles.

WITH LESS THAN 2,000 MILES, TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS CONFLICT WITH PSI MANUAL PRESSURE GAUGE. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS INFLATED THE TIRES TO 36 PSI WHICH DOES NOT REGISTER AS SUCH, BUT LOWER BY 2-3 PSI. THE PRESSURE GAUGE SENSORS IS INCORRECT UNDER ALL DRIVINGS MODES. IT REMAINS UNRESOLVED.

TAKATA RECALL. WAS DRIVING WITH KIDS AND WIFE I BEGAN COMING TO A STOP AND WAS GOING ABOUT 10 TO 15 MPH WHEN THE CAR STALLED OUT. IT SHUT OFF AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP ALONG WITH THE BREAK PEDAL WAS NONOE FUNCTIONAL AS WELL AS THE GAS PEDAL AND THE GEAR SHIFT. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO PARK AND LEFT ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 4 MINUTES. I FINALLY GOT IT INTO PARK AND THEN IT WOULDN'T START FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS ALL HAPPENED ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN MY AREA. IT FINALLY STARTED AND WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AS IT IS PRETTY MUCH BRAND NEW. (33K) ON THE VEHICLE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER FOR 10 MONTHS. SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST TEN MONTHS, WHEN STOPPED AND THEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL FULLY WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL OR LAUNCH CONTROL ENGAGED, THE THROTTLE CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT IS REMOVED FULLY FROM THE GAS PEDAL. IT FORCES YOU TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND BRAKE UNTIL THE THROTTLE BECOMES "UNSTUCK" AND THE RPMS OF THE ENGINE COME BACK DOWN. I AM MECHANICALLY INCLINED AND HAVE CHECKED TO SEE IF THE FLOOR MAT OR SOMETHING AROUND THE PEDAL OR PEDAL MECHANISM WAS CAUSING THE PEDAL TO BE STUCK BUT THERE ARE NO INDICATIONS OF ANY MECHANICAL INTERFERENCE. I HAVE READ FROM OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THE HIGH PERFORMANCE TRIMS (SRT AND TRACKHAWK) OF THE GRAND CHEROKEE. The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the "Liftgate Cannot Be Opened While Vehicle Is In Motion" message was displayed. Additionally, there was a burning odor detected after pressing the Auto Start/Stop button to start up the vehicle, with smoke coming from underneath the hood. The power liftgate was intermittently inoperable and also inadvertently opened while parked in the garage. The dealer was made aware of the failure and confirmed there was no recall associated with the VIN. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V338000 (Electrical System, Structure); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE TAILGATE OF THE VEHICLE HAS OPENED ON ITS OWN. IT HAS HAPPENED DURING VARIOUS HOURS OF THE DAY, BOTH DAYTIME AND OVERNIGHT. AND ON THREE OF THOSE OCCASIONS THE HOME LINK SYSTEM HAS ALSO BEEN ACTIVATED WHICH THEN OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE REAR OF THE TAILGATE. ALSO, SINCE THE ONSET OF THIS ISSUE THE HOME LINK BUTTON DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK EVEN IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE GARAGE DOOR ITSELF.

THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON EITHER DRIVERS OR PASSENGER SIDE. DEER GOT AIRBORNE AS MY VEHICLE WAS STILL IN MOTION. THE DEER WENT OVER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF WINDOW. THOUGHT HER HOOF WAS COMING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. FELT IT UNSAFE THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I TOOK IT IN TO BODY SHOP AND THE ESTIMATED $2,000 TURNED INTO OVER $6,000 BECAUSE THE FINS ON THE RADIATOR WERE BENT. THOUGHT THE SENSORS SHOULD HAVE DETECTED THE SPEED AND FORCE OF IMPACT BUT PERHAPS THE INERTIA AND MOVEMENT OF MY VEHICLE NOT STOPPING IMMEDIATELY AND ATTEMPTED BRAKING DID NOT WARRANT A "SEVERE" IMPACT?!

Both right and left rear passenger seat belts (female end) stopped holding the buckle in and is no longer working, both stopped working at the same time. Jeep is not covering this and I am spending money to replace. The Jeep has 45,000 miles on it. This seems like a defect and a major safety issue.

My wife and kids almost got killed in this vehicle twice this week due tot The Can Bus electrical communication network stop working. It completely stopped on the highway while driving 70 mph and almost caused a multiple car accident. All the controller icons lighted up on the dash board and the car shifter and transmission stopped working. I towed it to the dealership and paid 700.00 for a new shifter. The next day the vehicle did the same thing. This is a dangerous situation that needs to be recalled ASAP. Someone is going to get killed driving one of these vehicles. I researched this problem and numerous reviews found on the same issue 2014-2022 all electric Can Bus operated drivetrains jeep. Please recall my 2017 Jeep before it kills my family and you will have a astronomical law suit on your hands. Mr. Tyrone Albert.

I was driving on highway and the stop safely your car about to turn off popped up then my lights started flashing and the whole car shut down. I couldn't steer or brake so I had to shift into neutral and hope for the best. It scared me to death. My children were in the car. I just replaced the alternator, both batteries and had the vehicle reprogrammed and 2 days later that happened.

I JUST CASULLY TRIED TO PICK IT UP BY SPRESDING MY LEGS AND REACHING DOWN TO PICK IT UP WHILE KEEPING MY EYES ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE MEMORY SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING AT ALL, WE BOUGHT IN 12/2016 AND SOMEWHERE IN 6/2017 IT STOPPED WORKING, IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARS THE MEMORY SYSTEM CONTROLS MANY ASPECTS OF THE VEHICLE THAT DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE SEAT, STEERING WHEEL, MIORROR'S, AND RDS, IT ALSO CONTROLS ENGINE FUNCTIONS AND SAFETY SYSTEMS, AIR BAGS, SEATBELTS, BRAKES., WHY THE VEHICLE LEARNS YOUR DRIVING HABITS AND WHEN YOU USE DIFFERENT SETTINGS FOR DIFFERENT DRIVERS, NOW IT HAS CONTROL OVER YOUR VEHICLE AND DRIVING HABITS OR ANOTHER DRIVERS HABITS. (I HAD A 15 OVERLAND THAT WOULDN'T SYNC THE REMOTES TO THE MEMORY SETTINGS AFTER MULTIPLE ATEMTS, I ALSO HAVE A 14 RAM LIMITED THAT WORKS JUST FINE.) AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF WAS ENGAGED AT A RED LIGHT. RED LIGHT TURNED GREEN IN WHICH I PUT MY FOOT ON GAS TO ACCELERATE. VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE AND MESSAGE APPEARED ON DASH TO 'SHIFT VEHICLE INTO PARK'. I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK WHEN THE VEHICLE BECAME LOCKED IN PARK AND WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS. ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RE START, LEAVING MY STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. AFTER SITTING IN THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO RE START, THE VEHICLE FINALLY RE STARTED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP TO GET LOOKED AT, NO CODES ARE SHOWING ON THE COMPUTER AND ISSUE COULD NOT BE RE DUPLICATED. I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR ISSUES HAVE BEEN HAPPENING TO OTHERS. HOWEVER, AFTER ONLY TWO SNOWFALLS THE VEHICLE HAS SLID FOUR TIMES ON CITY STREETS AND MORE SIGNIFICANTLY FISH TAILED ON AN I-75 OFF RAMP. IN NO INSTANCES DID THE 4X4 SYSTEM TRY TO CORRECT THROUGH OR NOTIFY THE OPERATOR. IN ONE INSTANCE THE ABS WAS ABLE TO SAFELY BRING ME TO A STOP OVER THE LINE AT A FOUR WAY STOP INTERSECTION. THIS IS BEHAVIOR IS UNSAFE FOR EVERYDAY EXPECTED DRIVING SCENARIOS. MORE SHOULD BE EXPECTED OF A MODEL YEAR 2017 4X4 VEHICLE SOLD IN MICHIGAN. UNSAFE. 1. failure appears to involve the vehicle’s electrical control and communication systems, specifically (BCM), (TIPM), and/or CAN bus network. The malfunction caused multiple vehicle systems to activate or fail simultaneously, including windshield wipers, warning indicators, and the transmission shift interlock. The vehicle has been at a repair facility since the incident and remains available for inspection upon request. Nothing has been removed/discarded w/o documentation. 2. The malfunction created a serious safety risk while the vehicle was in operation. All warning lights illuminated at once, the windshield wipers activated without driver input and would not turn off, and the vehicle experienced difficulty shifting and limited drivability. The unpredictable activation and loss of control over critical systems impaired the driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle and created a risk of becoming stranded or disabled in traffic, posing a danger to both the driver and other road users. 3. Yes. The vehicle was taken immediately to an independent service center following the incident and has remained there due to the severity of the malfunction. The service center confirmed abnormal electrical behavior and initiated further diagnostic evaluation. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent service center. The manufacturer has not yet conducted a direct inspection. No police inspection was performed, as no collision occurred. 5. No warning symptoms were observed prior to the failure. The malfunction occurred suddenly and without warning on August 8. At the time of the incident, all warning lights illuminated simultaneously, and abnormal vehicle behavior began immediately.

The PTU (transfer case) is not working. It started as more of a transmission issue. I would be driving at times and my transmission would not shift up. I had to manually shift my car to get it into gear. Now, it lead to knocking noises when I turn my steering wheel.

Unknown or uncertain about needing a recall. Recently my car has been having trouble with acceleration in the sense that either it will lag or stall out and at times will give acceleration even without me trying to depress the gas harder. It sputters like it either cannot get gas or the fuel system is faulty, it keeps throwing codes and the check engine light dings and flashes. Cruise control sometimes will not come on, theres a burnt smell and rough idles, i have noticed a deep humming sound under my feet while driving, and sometimes when shifting from park to gear it jerks really hard, going down the road it acts like it takes too long to shift. It really is very scary when it does these things, its a daily occurrence. Sometimes it drives just fine then all of a sudden will malfunction. I've only had the car not quite 2 years and they said they repaired the recalls in 2018, after I had scheduled an appointment for July 2025.

My husband was driving down a state road when the car shut down. He started the suv back on & we where fine. 2nd time I was driving on the interstate [XXX] ) when the car shut off & the dashboard displayed "shift to park". I kept control of the car put the emergency lights on & got of the way. Waited a few minutes & the SUV started back took me home the next day I took it to the dealership they replaced the transmission. I got the car back Friday [XXX] drove it home & on Tuesday [XXX] put 93% gas in the car was on my way back on [XXX] . Stopped at a light with my grandson in the car & the car started to shake a little shut off again the dash indicated "shift to park" I turned the car on & off a few times finally after about 5 mins it started & I was on to my destination. At my destination I turned the car on 3 times. Started with out a problem. Got on the road headed back home. At the same spot, the car shut down again for the 3rd time. Dash again stating I need to "shift to park". This is the very dangerous. I had the car towed to the Jeep dealership & there it is waiting on a diagnosis as to what is wrong with my Beautiful 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Please find a way to fix this issue. The front passenger seat Active Head Restraint activated while driving on a smooth, rural road, with no traffic, and no impact with anything. My wife was in the passenger seat and was forcefully hit when the headrest deployed. There were no warning lights and no issues which would have warned us of this deployment. The vehicle has been maintained by the dealership since new. I have an appointment with the dealership for the warranty repair. on June 12 2025.

Transmission failed. Stuck in drive while on busy road, could not put vehicle in park or neutral and could not turn vehicle off. Drove very slowly to dealership because no one would tow without being able to turn it off and stuck in drive. Dealership did diagnostic and decided transmission needed replaced. Safety of other drivers were put at risk because car could not be taken out of drive and could not be shut off. No warning lamps, no messages prior to failure. Message came on to place vehicle in park to reset after trouble started but nothing worked at that time. Would not go into neutral or park. The emergency brake had to be used to keep car from moving forward. I recently had transmission replaced (1/24/2025) and now have a check engine light on with a code reads P1DCA Park Sensor Circuit Open

Yokohama tornate installed in 2022 plenty of tread left on tire. Driving 20 mph on back road. Driving around a person walking their dog so very slow and rear passenger tire was in the middle of the road. Tire pressure is emptied completely for no reason. Upon inspection found tire blew out at side wall. Large 4-6” crack from mid sidewall to tread. Driving back from beach in Maine. Drove up to Maine from NH then half way back when this happened.

The contact owned a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed while in the park position gear, the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated independently forward causing the contact to hit her head on the headrest. The contact confirmed by looking down if in fact her foot was on the brake pedal and it was during the incident. As a result, the contact crashed into the waiting room of a building. The contact remained depressing the brake pedal and shifted into reverse however her head hit the headrest again. The contact then attempted to shift into the park position but the vehicle continued to accelerate on its own and crashed into a parked Mercedes-Benz and then crashed into the rear door of a parked vehicle where the vehicle came to a stop. During the incident, the Anti-Braking System did not engage. The air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained a concussion and neck injury which later required medical treatment. The vehicle was destroyed and towed away. A police report was filed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was notified of the crash but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,500.

The component is known to fail on jeep forums weather it fails completely or was not installed properly and may loose its functionality. The event is when towing a trailer and reversing the car will see the trailer as an obstruction and will engage the brakes. The car is alleged to have an automatic system that when towing is supposed to turn the parking assist sensors off to prevent the event occuring. If that system isn't present there is a button that should allow you to turn the parking system off which it does for about two seconds and start backing up the trailer, then it will automatically turn back on and see the trailer and lock the brakes up which is jarring and startling to say the least. I am fairly certain this could cause an accident if it hasn't already.

Bought my Jeep used in Sept 2023. For the first time hooked it up to my small trailer to pick something up. Pulled around and went to reverse and the rear park assist braking jammed on. At first I wasn't concerned. I knew there was a way to turn them off based on my jeep manual. Unfortunately, the park assist would not turn off. Neither the park assist button on dash nor the settings in the computer screen would turn them off. The light on the dash button would turn on for 2 seconds but then turn right back off. In the computer settings , I would click the rear park assist to uncheck it. It would uncheck for a few seconds then check mark would come right back again. I tried to turn off the front park assist in the computer just to see what would happen. I can't turn those off either. This is extremely dangerous. I was very lucky I discovered this before I left my property. What if I was in a busy place, road, parking lot, etc. So I do have an appt with my dealer tomorrow, who claims to have never heard of this issue before. . But after doing simple google searches on the internet, I found numerous instances of many Mopar vehicles, like my Jeep GC, Dodge Durango, Chrysler Pacifica, etc. who have had the same exact issue when they try to tow something and cannot turn off the Park Assist feature to back up with a trailer attached. I also called the FCA US Customer Service line to tell them about this and they said they had never heard of this problem. Yet in the many forums I found where people have posted about this issue, they have had to get software update done on the Park assist module to fix this issue. So it is known, but FCA is not admitting to it being an issue. This should be a recall, or if nothing else, considered a necessary upgrade. Also found you have a report in your system already on this issue and I found a Jeep service bulletin related to this issue as well. I will see what the dealer says tomorrow.

This is [XXX] . On September 14, 2023 had a very big crash with our 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My husband and Granddaughter were in the crash. Everyone is okay but the Jeep is totaled. At 7:00am, the Jeep accelerated out of control, my husband was trying applying the breaks, but the accelerator over powered the brake system. The car reached speeds of between 74-83 mph based on the Life 360 app our both my husband and granddaughter have on their phones.This occurred in downtown Lebanon KY during the morning school hours. He was unable to stop or slow down the Jeep. It resulted in him running through 2 red lights and 2 4 way stops. He also had to avoid hitting several cars and pedestrians including children. Finally the jeep skidded to the right of the road and hit a telephone pole, a bridge guard rail where the front passenger side tire was torn off, and went up an embankment and hit a tree. The police at the scene estimated the car hit the tree about approximately 50 MPH. No airbags deployed and of course the car is totaled. Our daughter drives our other 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and had the same issue a week before this happened but she was on an open road and was able to use the paddles on the steering wheel to disengage the cruise control and get the car under control. Jeep is saying that there is no recall so we will have to pay for the 2015 to be looked at. Of course we are going to do that immediately. The Dealer has engaged a 3rd party from Bosch to retrieve the data from the cars computer system but that has not happened yet. There were no warning lights on, the vehicle is awaiting Chrysler's inspection. The Insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss based on the photos we sent them. I was parked and my car was on and my gas gauge was less the halfway (dashboard indicated about 70 miles left) then my steering wheel started shaking so I turned off the car. I tried restarting the car but it wouldn’t turn on. I got my jumper cables out because I thought the battery had died but it wouldn’t turn on after multiple attempts. I ran to the nearest gas station and got some gas, filled my tank up and after a few attempts my car finally turned back on. Ever since then, my fuel gauge has been wrong. I don’t know if it’s a sensor issue or fuel tank issue but I can’t trust my dashboard or fuel gauge to know how much gas I have. When I fill up my tank to the fullest the most it’ll show me is 300 miles on the dashboard although before it used to be close to 400 miles. Although I wouldn’t label this issue as a direct safety hazard, it is extremely inconvenient trying to guess when I need to fill up gas since the fuel light doesn’t come on anymore. To avoid this issue I’ve gotten in the habit of filling up my tank before levels reach under 100 miles. I have also read many complaints from others having similar issues.

Jeep serviced for small evap leak. The next day after getting my jeep back from dealer, when I started my grand Cherokee trailhawk, it felt like I had gotten kicked in the rear end. The SERV 4WD light comes on, FCW, stability control, RCW error lights come on. ACC not available. Took jeep to dealer and had PCM cleared as code was coming up as inactive. Was told to drive it as usual and if error lights came back on to get it to dealer asap to get codes. After dealer checked for error codes, codes for transfer case problem popped up. The dealer stated they can’t tell what’s wrong until they diagnosis it. Appointment scheduled for diagnosis at end of July as mechanic is on vacation. Asked if jeep was drivable to which I got mixed answers and told to be careful that jeep may slip into 4WD and not drive right. Dealer stated Jeep is aware of problem but no recall at this point and stated they just wished Jeep would recall and fix the problem . The dealer stated they have encountered this issue in jeeps more than any other vehicle.

Was traveling in the fast lane of highway when the engine just stopped. Able to coast to shoulder of highway. Put car in park and tried to restart the engine. It would not restart. Gas tank was 1/4 full. Had to be towed. The same situation happened in Feb 2020 but the weather was bad and the dealer could not find a problem so it was blamed on the moisture in the electrical system.

The rear parking assist break does not turn off, yes it is available for inspection. I had an emergency, I could not reverse out of my parking spot because the emergency break would automatically stop my vehicle, it was sensing there was something behind it. The problem has been confirmed by dealer stated it is an internal failure with the factory radio. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, they say, it's out of warranty so they are not responsible even though this was a defect since the beginning. I mentioned it to the dealer when I took my car for service, when I first purchased it, they said all I had to do was turn off the park assist button, that did not work. This is very concerning, its a safety hazard if I can not go on reverse due to the break automatically stopping my vehicle and impeding me from going on reverse. Jeep and Mopar are ware of this issue. I am not the only person that has complained about this safety hazard/concern. There are countless individuals that have complained about the same issue.

When driving the vehicle it's like the transmission is slipping through the first few gears then all of a sudden it takes off. if you try to accelerate it just winds up and then bang it takes off. when coming to a stop it downshifts hard. When driving around a corner you slow down your foot off the pedal, then when you get through the corner you go to accelerate again and it has a dead spot, no power, it's like it died and you have nothing then again it takes right off. Really dangerous, I first thought the car was dead, with no power but then it takes off like a rocket. It acts worse when the start-stop button is depressed so that the engine stops at red lights or when the vehicle comes to a stop. If you turn that off the vehicle seems to run a little better but still cuts out. Almost like someone flicking a light switch off and on with the power of the vehicle. I was driving back home and was travelling at around 30miles/hr on a street. All of a sudden my car dashboard started flashing and all the indicators in the dashboard started to flash.. The vehicle started to accelerate and brake at the same time... The engine made a strange weird sound. I had to put the emergency parking lights and pull over slowly. Luckily I was closer to home, so drove back home with the hazard lights on.. The car moved very slowly with the engine accelerating and braking at the same time. Next day, I had the car towed to the dealership and they also saw the same issue. They indicated the Throttle Control Module was behaving erratically and have to re-flash it.

Additionally, the vehicle lost power steering functionality, and stalled. The contact stated that the instrument panel was flickering, and the speedometer and gauges became inoperable. The contact stated that the windows randomly rolled down and the headlights would flash off and on. The contact stated that the traction control warning light was illuminated, and the vehicle was difficult to steer. The contact stated that the failure usually occurred after 30 minutes of driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the battery and window switch; however, the failure persisted. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet notified. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

My car recently started making a grinding noise that got bad really fast. I had it towed to the dealership to get a diagnostic test done. I was told that it was my transfer case that was making the noise. Now this caught me by surprise because I had no warning lamps on my dashboard or no messages alerting me of any problems that would point to it needing servicing done it just happened out the blue. Because of this problem my car has a hard time accelerating and this is no good to me because I live in Atlanta Georgia where there is nothing but Highway and hills. My car makes a constant grinding noise no matter how fast I’m going or how hard I press on the gas. With the acceleration of the vehicle being bad I have almost been in a few incidences where people have almost rear ended me. An inspection by the manufacturer has not been done as of yet. I would just like to know what can be done about this especially because my car STILL has no warning lamps and the grinding is so bad that I can no longer drive it.

One morning when I turned on my Jeep Grand Cherokee the PRNDL did not light up and the car said "Service Shifter" but the warning would go away after a few seconds. I took the car to a Jeep dealership and after 6 hours they told me the PRNDL needed to be replaced but the car was perfectly safe to drive. I waited 3 weeks for the part to arrive, and was told they'd replace the PRNDL and it would be covered by my extended warranty. I waited 5 hours at the dealership to be told once they replaced the part that the car would not move out of park. I then got a call telling me the entire shifter would need to be replaced and would not be covered under warranty. There was no actual issue with my vehicle before I dropped it off at the dealership. The car was shifting between park, drive, neutral, reverse without any issues. They also told me they would try to put the old part back on to see if it was a faulty part. They quoted me $617 for a part that before today I did not need. This is absolutely ridiculous as there are multiple forums and feeds online about Jeep Grand Cherokees having this issue. This needs to be a recall and covered by the Jeep dealership.

I WAS STOOPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A HILL WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN ALL LIGHTS IN CAR TURNED ON THE BRAKES WENT OUT AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I WAS ON A HILL AND ALMOST CRASHED INTO A WALL. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR. DON'T KNOW HOW THIS HAPPENED. I WAS ABLE TO MANGE AND PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE CURVE. I TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES AND THE CAR WENT BACK TO NORMAL. I WAS VERY LUCKY I DIDN'T CRASH INTO THE WALL OR ANOTHER CAR. THIS WAS AT A BUSY INTERSECTION AND I COULD HAVE KIILED MYSELF OR AND SOMEONE ELSE. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE ONLY MY HUSBAND BECAUSE IM VERY SCARED. TODAY THE MALFUNCTION LIGHT COME ON AND WE DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS RELATED. ALL WARNING SENSORS WENT OFF ON THE DASH, MY BRAKES LOCKED, LUCKILY AT LOW SPEEDS EITHER WHILE PARKED OR PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT. JEEP SAYS IT WAS THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, 2 OUT OF 4 HAVE BEEN REPLACED. I'VE ALSO HAD TO HAVE MY WIRING HARNESS REPLACED TWICE (WITHIN 6 MONTHS) DUE TO CORROSION. THE "SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL" MESSAGE CAME ON DURING THE WEEK TWICE BUT THEN IT NEVER CAME UP AGAIN, ON THIS DAY THE MESSAGE DID NOT SHOW UP AT ALL AND WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE PULLED TOWARDS THE DRIVER SIDE (LEFT) AND CRASHED INTO THE SECURITY SECURITY FENCE, AFTER THIS CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WAS LOST AND THE BRAKES STOPPED RESPONDING WHICH LEAD TO A SECOND CRASH WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE (RIGHT) SECURITY FENCE. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE AND ABRUPT HALT BECAUSE THE ENTIRE FRONT TRAIN WAS DESTROYED, THE FRONT WHEELS LITERALLY FELL OFF THE SUV BECAUSE THE IRON SEEMED LIKE IT HAD BEEN CUT THROUGH WITH A KNIFE. WHAT IS COMPLETELY SURPRISING IS THE FACT THAT AFTER TWO MAJOR COLLISIONS THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AT ALL WHICH LEAD THE PASSENGER TO RECEIVE A BLOW TO HEAD AND THE DRIVER A BLOW TO THE HIP AND LEFT KNEE (THANKFULLY THEY WERE CLEARED OF MAJOR INJURIES BY DOCTORS), ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WITH BOTH VICTIMS OF THE CRASH USING THEIR SEATBELTS IN THE CORRECT MANNER. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER SERVICE CENTER THREE DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THEY FIRST CHANGED AUXILIARY BATTERY AND TOLD ME TO DRIVE THE CAR. THE VERY NEXT DAY CAR STARTED STOPPING AGAIN. THEY THEN CHANGED THE 2ND (MAIN) BATTERY. PROBLEM REMAINED. THEN FINALLY THEY FOUND THAT ONE OF THE BATTERY WIRES WAS NOT SECURELY CONNECTED TO THE STARTER VIA A CONNECTOR. THEY HAVE PUT A NEW CONNECTOR. IT IS A SCARY SITUATION, AND CAN LEAD TO LOSS OF LIFE ON ROAD. IF IT KNOCKS OFF THE ENGINE BEHIND A TRAFFIC JAM AND DOES NOT START BACK IT MAY LEAD TO SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND EVEN DEATH. IT IS ONLY 6 MONTH OLD BRAND NEW CAR AND I DID NOT EXPECT THIS PROBLEM. IT CAN NOT BE EASILY PUT IN NEUTRAL GEAR IF ENGINE CAN NOT BE STARTED WHICH IS A MAJOR TRAFFIC HAZARD. THIS NEEDS TO BE THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED AND RECALLED. BOUGHT MY 2017 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK USED WITH 10,600 MILES ON IT. GAS ISSUES FROM THE GET GO: WHEN GETTING GAS, THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF EVER FEW SECONDS LIKE THE GAS TANK IS FULL ONLY ALLOWING A FEW CENTS WORTH OF GAS TO ACTUALLY GO IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN TO MULTIPLE GAS STATIONS AND THE SAME ISSUE OCCURS AT ALL OF THEM, TRIED TURNING THE NOZZLE TO DIFFERENT ANGLES AND ALMOST HOLDING IT ALL THE WAY OUT OF AND IN THE TANK, IT DOES NOT MATTER THOUGH. AIR SUSPENSION: AFTER OWNING THE JEEP FOR 3 MONTHS, ONE MONDAY MORNING WHEN I TURNED IT ON TO GO TO WORK A MESSAGE POPPED UP SAYING "SERVICE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM IMMEDIATELY", MILEAGE WAS AT 14,990. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND ONE TWO MORE TIMES BEFORE DRIVING IT, DROVE TO WORK AND RESTARTED IT AFTER I PARKED, EACH TIME THE SAME MESSAGE CAME ON IMMEDIATELY. I CALLED THE CLOSEST JEEP DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID IT WAS OK TO DRIVE AND COULD NOT SEE THE JEEP UNTIL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. DROPPED THE JEEP OFF, THEIR SYSTEM SAID THE MODULE WAS BAD, THEY REPLACED IT, THIS DID NOT WORK. THEY CONTACTED CHRYSLER, NO FIX HAS OCCURED, MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS BUT NOTHING HAS WORKED. 3.5 WEEKS AND STILL COUNTING WITHOUT MY JEEP. THE JEEP GARAGE SAID THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER BC THEY DO NOT KNOW THE SOLUTION AND ARE WAITING ON JEEP ENGINEERS TO TELL THEM WHAT TO TRY NEXT. SOUNDS LIKE THE ENGINEERS ARE JUST TRYING EXPERIMENTS TO SEE WHAT WILL WORK. WHEN WAITING ON THE MODULE TO COME IN THE FIRST WEEK I ASKED IF I COULD DRIVE IT UNTIL THE PIECE CAME AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. VERY UNPLEASED.

I HAD THE CAR FOR ABOUT 35 DAYS. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A SIDE STREET AND MY BRAKES FAILED. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AS I WAS COMING UPON A 3 WAY STOP SIGN. MY BREAKS JAMMED,AND FAILED TO STOP. I HIT ANOTHER CAR AND WE BOTH WALKED AWAY WITH MINOR INJURIES. MY JEEP WAS TOTALED. ALL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND I HAD ALL FRONT END DAMAGE. I FEEL THEIR IS EITHER A PROBLEM WITH THE BREAK MODULATOR, OR THE AUTO STOP FEATURE WHEN YOU APPLY YOUR BREAKS TO STOP. I WAS ALMOST KILLED. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR WITH THIS AUTO FEATURE AGAIN. OF COURSE NOTHING WAS FOUND.

BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2017 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ALTITUDE 4X4. FROM ROUTE 1 JEEP IN LAWRENCEVILLE. IMMEDIATELY EXPERIENCED TICKING FROM THE ENGINE, FAULTY COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, AND FAULTY FUEL PROPOSITION. THE SOUND WAS DUPLICATED AND I WAS TOLD SERVICE WOULD NEED MY CAR INDEFINELTY UNTIL THE DIAGNOSIS WAS INDENTIFIEF AND A REPAIR WAS DETERMINED. ALSO EXPERIENCE PRE-MATURE STOPPING AT FUEL PUMPS. MEANING THE PUMP WILL SHUT OFF AS IF THE TANK IS FILLED WHEN IT'S NOT, HAVING TO MANIPULATE THE GAS PUMP NOZZLE UNTIL IT ALLOWS ME TO FILL. ALSO EXPERIENCE INTERNITANT ISSUES WITH THE SPEEDO AND ITS DISPLAY. SOME TIMES THE DISPLAY DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. KEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT AN OBSTACLE TO GETTING THIS RESOLVED. AND EVERY DEALER WE GO TO IS "OVERWHELMED AND UNDERSTAFFED" BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION. LITERALLY 5 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS IN A 50 MILE RADIUS GAVE US THE SAME FEEDBACK. I'M AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED , HURT , AND DISGUSTED AFTER SPENDING 40K+ ON MY 1ST BRAND NEW SUV. WAS HOPEFUL AND WANTED TO PURCHASE AMERICAN , BUT ARE WE REALLY BUYING AMERICAN WHEN THE PARTS AND CAR ITSELF ARE BEING MANUFACTURED IN MEXICO??

WE WERE SOLD A RUSTED BRAND NEW CAR BY HUFFINES JEEP DEALERSHIP IN LEWISVILLE, TX. WE IDENTIFIED THE RUST IN THE CAR WITHIN 3 WEEKS ( AND LESS THAN 700 MILES) AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DENIED HELPING US OUT AND REFUSED TO REPLACE THE CAR FOR US AND THE ONLY OPTION THEY PROVIDED US WAS " WE WILL FIX THE CAR AND YOU TAKE IT BACK" . WE HAVE ESCALATED THE CASE TO "FCA NORTH AMERICA" AND THEY ARE CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE CASE . HOWEVER WE ARE AFRAID THAT SINCE THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE A RAPO ESTABLISHED WITH THE COMPANY THEY MIGHT OVERLOOK THIS CASE AND SINCE WE ARE ONE CUSTOMER VS THE DEALERSHIP THERE ARE MORE CHANCES THAT WE MIGHT HAVE TO SUFFER AND TAKE THE CONTINUOUS THREATS FROM THE DEALERSHIP. WE WOULD LIKE TO APPROACH NHTSA TO PROVIDE US A RECOMMENDATION ON THIS AND HELP US RECEIVE JUSTICE ON THIS CASE . OUR CASE NUMBER WITH JEEP IS [XXX] . THE VEHICLE DOESN'T SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY WHEN MOVING. IT MOSTLY HAPPENS ON A REGULAR STREETS IN DAY-TO-DAY DRIVING I'VE NOT NOTICED IT AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE RPMS GO UP REALLY REALLY HIGH AND YESTERDAY WHEN I WAS GETTING ONTO A SMALLER HIGHWAY FROM A MAIN HIGHWAY IT'S SLID INTO ALMOST A NEUTRAL STATE, IT DIDN'T STALL BUT DIDN'T ACCELERATE EITHER ON THE TURN COMING OFF LIGHT . THIS IS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY SINCE I GOT THE CAR IN FEBRUARY AND I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER A FEW WEEKS AGO AND THEY SAID THEY UPDATED SOME KIND OF SOFTWARE. IT HASN'T HELPED -THE ONLY WAY I GET TO ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION PROPERLY IS IF I MOVE STICK INTO MANUAL AND DROP IT INTO THE + THEN GO BACK TO AUTOMATIC BUT THAT'S NOT REALLY AN APPROPRIATE ANSWER AND I WORRY ABOUT MY TEENAGERS USING THE CAR. I CAN'T STAND THE FUEL SAVING ON OFF SWITCH BECAUSE IT'S NOT RESPONSIVE ENOUGH AND I WONDER IF THAT'S PART OF IT, MAYBE THIS FUEL LIMITING PROVISION IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND FUEL ISN'T PROVIDED FAST ENOUGH TO HANDLE THE ACCELERATION SO THE CAR JUST KIND OF RUNS OUT OF GAS MID TASK. I'M PROVIDING THE RECEIPT FROM A LOCAL DEALER BUT THIS IS NOT THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM, THEY WEREN'T HELPFUL AS I THEY CAN BE.
