My jeep started on fire in my garage. I put my items for the day in my jeep then started it the garage door was open. I started it at 0557. I went and got my son dressed brought him to the living room I heard noises from outside in the garage. I opened the door in the house to the garage, and it was full of smoke. There were flames coming from the front of the jeep. I called 911 at 0603. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? UNKOWEN How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The jeep engulfed in flame very quickly. If it wasn't for the quick thinking of my fiancé our home would have been a total loss as well. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, I have a complaint going with the BBB Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Police yes my jeep was bunted to the frame. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, I have had no issues with my jeep.

The air conditioner compressor blew at 58,000 miles. No certified jeep dealership in the area had the equipment necessary to replace it. I went to an autobody shop with that capability who said at that mileage this should not have happened in a well maintained car. It is $3000 to repair. This happened mid summer with high heat temperatures and no cold air. This put me at risk for hyperthermia as well as my dog. Oliverian Auto in Pike NH confirmed the issue. No warnings from the car, just no cold air, only hot air. First happened in July of this year.

Yesterday, with the temperature at 70°F in Michigan, I attempted to turn on my air conditioning and realized it was no longer working. The system was only pushing out hot air and never cooled. I immediately took my vehicle to the dealership for a diagnosis. Thankfully, I had started an extended warranty in January, because I was shocked to learn that the repair would cost around $2,500 to replace the evaporator, which had completely failed. Upon researching, I found that an evaporator should typically last between 8 to 10 years. I have owned my vehicle since January 2021, and with only 36,117 miles, I find it unacceptable that this critical component has already failed. I take excellent care of my vehicle and stay on top of all maintenance, so there is no reason this part should be failing this soon. What’s even more concerning is that when I spoke with the service advisor, they mentioned that the part was on backorder because many people with my same year, make, and model are experiencing the same exact issue. If this is a widespread problem, it raises serious concerns about the quality and longevity of this component. A $2,500 repair for something that should last much longer is unreasonable. I am submitting this report to document the issue and to bring awareness to what seems to be a common failure with this vehicle. Thank you,

The high beam lights are not working. Dealer said the shutter door internal to headlamp assemblies are unresponsive. BOTH headlamps went out at the same time. Dealer said they haven't seen any issues before with the high beams.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the low beam headlights were inoperable. The contact attempted to set the headlight knob from automatic to manual however, the low beam headlights failed to function as needed. The contact stated that the high beam headlights and running lights operated as designed. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who checked the fuse box and determined that the fuses for the lighting system were functioning as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V950000 (Exterior Lighting); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

When the lights are set on Auto mode the high beams feature will not work. You push the steering column cluster switch forward to turn on high beams and it kicks it back immediately and will not turn on high beams. This is a huge safety issue. We've had to drive through wooded areas at night with elk and deer on the roads and almost been hit. Jeep needs to recall this and modify to allow high beam while using the Auto headlight setting.

High beams will not activate while car is in "Auto Headlamp" mode. If you toggle the high beam stalk nothing happens. I have to physically hold the high beam stalk down for the lamps to work while in "auto" mode. If I want to use the high beams without holding the stalk down I have to switch the Headlamps to the "on" position using the headlamp control switch. Using my hand to hold down the stalk in order to access my high beams is a huge safety hazard requiring me to have only one hand on the steering wheel. Switching the headlamp mode to auto to access my high beams is more hazardous as I have to take my eyes off the road to find the control switch. There is no "automatic high beam" mode available through my vehicles on board options. This has been an issue since I purchased the vehicle new. Unfortunately weighing my options I an unable to use the high beams because it is too much of a hassle to do so. I thought this issue was recalled but after speaking with Jeep and my dealership I was told otherwise.

My low beam headlight has blown for the second time now since owning the car. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!! There clearly must be some electrical issue and I’m past the warranty. Headlights don’t blow like that. I’ve owned cars for over 6 years and never had a headlight blow.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the power steering failure warning light had illuminated. While attempting to steer the vehicle, the steering wheel felt loose while driving at various speeds and the vehicle was difficult to steer. The failure had become more persistent over time. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the steering gear had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V352000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 58,000.

As I was driving vehicle steering got really hard and all lights come up on the dash, pulled over and turn engine off wait for a while and turned back on, problem didn't solve, I contacted the Dealer before and they say there is no recall for these issue on these vehicle, it is very Danger and scary to be driving and not knowing if is safe or not.

Chrysler (corporate = Stellantis) is refusing to accept manufacturing responsibility for the extensive damage to my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (16,000 miles – with completely timely and up-to-date maintenance) when the steering components literally FELL APART while navigating out of my paved driveway at under 5mph with NO collision, provocation or explanation on September 2, 2023, rendering the vehicle undriveable. There was an ‘unofficial’ recall on the components. It should still be under warranty but, although none of the automotive professionals can come up with a reason why this happened, Stellantis Corporation is refusing to take any responsibility (or even communicate with anyone – other than to send generic emails saying ‘no’, with no viable explanation). NOTE: This vehicle was purchased new from Stateline Jeep/Chrysler in Fort Mills, SC. RECALL: [XXX] Many thousands of $$ in repair costs (IF, in fact, it can even be repaired – as the required parts have been on national backorder for all of these months.) and many thousands of $$ in rental car costs (vehicle has been at the dealership for 3+ months). All details, reports and pictures have been carefully documented by me. If this had happened on the major/busy road that I was about to drive on and/or ultimately the highway where we were headed instead of in my driveway, the results would 100% have been catastrophic for me/passenger and very probably other victims on the road. Transmission failure at 19,481 miles in my 2021Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 V6. The vehicle has not been abused, and the mileage is low for its age. The symptoms—erratic shifting, limp mode, and “Service Transmission” warnings— are consistent with a known defect pattern affecting multiple FCA vehicles using the same transmission.

Since it was brand new it likes to shift hard into reverse or drive from park. Sometimes it shifts with NOTHING going on like it should Other times there is subtle thump into gear other times it's a harder thumb into gear. There is 2 or 3 levels of hard shift into gear. Valve body and Output shift kit have already been replaced and it's STILL happening

I drove my car out of my garage on the way to work and just outside my house, the transmission bucked when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear and the p0733 code appeared. I turned around and went home and took another car to work. I had previously taken my jeep with ~85,000 miles to my local dealer wanting the 4 wheel drive and transmission service as I do with all of my cars. It was driving fine, but seemed like the gas mileage was decreasing a bit which I shrugged off. The dealer informed me that the transmission wasn't serviceable. I thought this was odd, but they did the 4 wheel drive service and said everything was good. When I got the error code, I called my local independent transmission shop who said they could look at it in 2 days, so I didin't drive it until the ~10 minute drive to drop it off. They called the next day and said the transmission was done- burnt fluid and bits of clutch in the fluid. They couldn't even find a rebuilt trasmission because according to them so many are failing. They quoted me $8700 for a new transmission from Jeep which I begrudgingly agreed to because what else could I do? I've had one car's transmission fail (Jeep Wrangler but it had 220,000 miles and was 15 years old so I could accept it. The shop received the new transmission from Jeep and then called me saying the valve body was bad, it would not communicate with the car. They went through warranty struggles with Jeep who after another week finally sent another valve body, which also did not work. Finally, they figured out they were sending unprogrammed valve bodies with the transmission and the car needed to be towed to the dealer to program...more $$$. So, after a3+ weeks I finally got my car back today. I've looked online and wondered what I could have done- there are so many similar examples out there of similar experiences, Wrangler transmissions failing with low miles; it's unforgivable that Jeep says the transmission can't be serviced!

Constant problems with starter engaging and not starting vehicle. This form only gave me one option for date; This has happened multiple times. This is a defective part, I went to Dick Scott dealership, tech wrote to check car and did not note defective starter; Wanted me to pay $118 to inspect the jeep. In the warranty jargon, it stated if it was a defective part, it would be replaced. I only have 32000 miles on the vehicle.

The contact stated that eventually the vehicle failed to start and was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that Body Control Module (BCM) was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 47,100.

This issue is concerning, and I believe it poses a safety risk that requires urgent attention. 1. Component/System Description: The power steering system in my Jeep Grand Cherokee L consistently displays the "power steering unavailable / ALM unavailable" error. 2. Safety Concerns: The unresolved power steering issue has created significant safety concerns. The sudden unavailability of power steering functionality affects the vehicle's maneuverability, posing a risk to both the driver and other road users. 3. Dealer Response: I have brought this matter to the attention of the dealership during multiple service appointments. However, a satisfactory resolution has not been provided. The unavailability of loaner vehicles during service appointments has further exacerbated the issue, as I rely on my car as my sole mode of transportation. 4. Both my power steering and lane assistance have been going unresponsive. Upon further investigation it sounds like this is a problem with numerous 2021 Jeep grand cherokee Ls and there is no recall. No power steering is a very dangerous situation

When I started the car and backed out I was alerted that the power steering had a failure and lane departure warnings also. Power steering was not working. Left car for an hour and when I restarted it, warning light was off and steering worked again. Random power steering failure is extremely scary.

The power steering and adaptive lane control system repeatedly fails. Loss of power steering makes the vehicle harder to turn. This problem was reproduced by a dealer and supposedly corrected by way of software update. This problem has not been corrected and continues to reoccur following the software update. The lamps for the power steering and adaptive lane control system appear when the systems are not working.

Known common problem with 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokees, fuel pump issues. Vehicle fails to start when push button is pressed. After several attempts vehicle will start. These issue happens hundreds of times per year. Vehicle will stall while driving intermittently. Manufacture and NHTSA is well aware if this issue, as it has been documented hundreds and likley thousands of times by dealer ships across the US.

Jeep's engine turned off while driving, was able to coast and use the brakes to come to a full stop. The engine turned off while driving in a tunnel in the mountains; it was very unsafe. There was no shoulder to pull off to, no extra space to walk around the car, with only 1 other lane available for all the backed-up traffic behind me; CDOT had to tow me out of the tunnel, where I then had to wait on the side of the highway for AAA. There were no warning signs, lights or messages prior to the failure. Had to be towed to the Jeep dealership, where the fuel pump was replaced. There have been recalls on this part for other Jeeps, but my VIN did not show that this was a recall for this specific yr /model.

The fuel pump and then in turn, the auxiliary pump failed. The car would keep turning over a lot before it started. The engine would stop in the middle of travel. This put us in risk as we travelled down the freeway. We took it to the dealership for inspection, and they found a defective fuel pump. There were no warning lights, messages when this occurred.

On May 17, 2025, my vehicle suddenly shut down in heavy traffic on a major NYC highway (no shoulder), creating a hazardous situation. There was no warning or alert before the engine shut off completely. I was unable to restart the car, and the gear shifter was locked. The brake pedal also became unresponsive temporarily. After some time, the brake unlocked, but the ignition remained inactive and the vehicle was immobilized. The car had to be removed by emergency tow and later diagnosed by a Jeep dealer. The root cause was determined to be failure of the fuel pump(s). Additionally, a blown fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) was discovered. The dealer replaced both fuel pumps under warranty. Jeep has refused to acknowledge this as a safety issue or reimburse emergency expenses despite full documentation. This is a serious safety issue, especially since: There was no prior warning Vehicle failure occurred in heavy traffic Driver was stranded in a live lane The issue appears related to core electrical/fuel systems I have identified over 20 similar complaints from Jeep owners of their cars also shutting down in traffic, often without warning. These have been shared on owner forums and consumer boards. I believe this indicates there is a wider pattern that may indicate a safety defect.

I bought the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in 2021. Since I bought it I have had one problem after another with this SUV. This is the list of repairs on my car since 2021... and Jeep has done nothing to compensate for my troubles. I feel like I got a lemon of a car and I would never purchase another jeep again. We have maintained the car and have records of all oil changes and tire rotation and all necessary maintance that should have been done on the car. July 31 2024... evaporator core fixed car leaking all over AC fixed... jeep couldn't find problem then finally did. Oct. 4 2024.. new radiator... car leaking all over... once again hard time finding problem March 26, 2024... two new batteries installed car hard time starting... was not problem cause March 27, 2024.. same problem brought back and now I need a fuel pump ( car had burning smell and I was driving it because they could not diagnose the problem )and because they made we wait a week to get it checked out they said there could be more damage to car not sure. Fuel pump should last 100,000 miles.. my car has 68, 000.00 In the three and half years with this car I have had one safety problem after another and I am upset I travel to help my elderly parents on Long Island and each time I am afraid something is going to go wrong with this car. I am so very upset on how the performance of a three year old car is running. I feel people need to know that Jeep is not a reliable brand of car. I am so upset and feel that my car is not reliable and safe for driving long distances and short distances. Thank you for listening to my story. Service power steering, blind spot alert temporarily unavailable, seatbelts not buckled came on and started beeeping, start/stop not ready, and service electronic stability control all turned on at once. I pulled over to the side of the road to try to restart the vehicle and I lost my power steering.

I have under 13,000 miles on my car. When i had barely 11k miles, my whole computer system and power steering system shut down 8 hours from my home while on a road trip with my three children and our dog. It left me in the middle of busy traffic and easily a target for oncoming traffic and was very dangerous. The steering g could barely be turned at all. We had this fixed and it’s happened again. I just returned from a trip. I was on my way to school and got stuck in rush hour traffic with my child in the car. The power steering and computer system locked up again and no air would work in the vehicle and the heat index is 115 today! I cannot trust this car and there are numerous lawsuits and complaints regarding this same issue! We could easily wreck and it would be life altering. The current situation is not showing up in my app so I only have the one incident. I’ve never felt so vulnerable. And Jeep is no help.

On May 4, 2023, immediately upon starting the car, warning lights were illuminated: Blind Spot Alert Unavailable - Service Required; Stop/Start Unavailable Service Stop/Start System; Service Electronic Stability Control; Oil Change Required; Service Power Steering; Check Engine Light. Vehicle had no power steering. It was taken to the dealership several hours later, and at that time no warning lights came on and the car had power steering. Dealership indicated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. On July 1, while driving 75 mph on I-95 in New Hampshire, while on a road trip from NY to Maine, multiple warning lights illuminated and vehicle immediately lost power steering. I was barely able to get it to the shoulder. Not one Jeep dealership in the area was available to see the car. A local mechanic was able to hook it up and determined that the car lost connectivity. He agreed to keep the car while we continued on our trip with a rental car we found and contacted our Jeep dealer. Two days later, while waiting for our Jeep dealership to tow it home, we learned that the vehicle was completely dead and won't even accept a charge to the battery. Chrysler Customer Service was called and a case was opened on July 3rd. Upon calling back on July 5th, I learned that they "closed" the case. No one could explain to me why and I asked for it to be reopened. Called back on July 11th and spoke with a different representative who indicated the case was "closed" and there was no indication of my call from July 5th. Reiterated and clarified all information and now await a call from a Specialist. The car is still not in NY and is still at the mechanic in NH waiting to be picked up by Jeep to be inspected and fixed. My safety and that of my family, and those in the cars around me, were put at risk as a result of this incident as I lost the ability to steer the vehicle while traveling at 75 mph.

The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and approaching a parking spot, several warning lights illuminated, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the two batteries to be recharged. The batteries were recharged but the contact continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to another local dealer: Normandin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT (900 Capitol Expressway Auto Mall, San Jose, CA 95136:(408) 580-8875), where it was diagnosed with needing the two batteries to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact towed the vehicle back to the first dealer: Putnam Chrysler Jeep Dodge. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,550.

Power steering becomes unavailable; the car will not drive; all safety features become unavailable. The first time happened in April 2022, vehicle only had 6k miles. I had to remove the power steering fuse and put it back in for the system to reset. The vehicle was taken to dealer for rapid response recall. October 2022, went to start car and the same message came out regarding power steering and safety features being unavailable, car would not start and had to reset the power steering fuse. The system reset, but now the engine light is amber and will not turn off; the vehicle has 16k miles. I will be contacting the service department first thing Monday morning

The vehicle (2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee) was on the road for about 90 minutes when the engine shut off for no reason at 65 mph in noon rush hour traffic. We were in the left lane and had to coast through 2 lanes of traffic and an exit approach while trying to avoid a deadly crash with high-speed traffic. There were no warning lights or alarms on in the car. The only message was that we needed to put the car in park to restart. We finally came to stop and waited a minute and restarted the engine and were able to make it home. I called the dealer, and the next appointment was 3 weeks out. I tried driving during a rainy day before the dealer appointment and the vehicle shut off 3 times in 3 blocks, so I returned home and waited for the appointment date. As of today, the dealer says there are no codes and in 2 test rides the car is running just fine. This is a huge safety issue and I hope that we can get help before anything happens again.

The auto stop/start system,shuts down the engine when waiting to pull out onto a busy street.it has a shut down switch,but it gets rest everything the ignition is turned on.there is no way to perfectly shut off.

One day I smelled something burning after driving. I didn't see anything the first time but i kept smelling the burning smell and noticed a few days later oil dripping from underneath the car. Oil made its way ALL under the car, it traveled on various parts and created an oil coating. I made an appt to the Jeep dealership (Keffer jeep in Charlotte, NC) and they said the oil cooler failed. There were no obvious signs other than a slow leak from under the car, no warning lights, no change in performance. However had I not noticed coolant could have mixe in with oil and ruined the engine. Less than 32,000 miles on the car when it occured.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that upon start of the vehicle; an abnormal, clamoring sound would emit from the engine without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they replaced 2 cam shafts and other engine parts; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer a second time where a total of 18 different engine parts were replaced but to no avail. Upon parking my car in my driveway (which has a slight slope), I put it in park and turned it off. I then opened my door and got out. Before I could close the door my car began to roll backwards and I had to jump back in the car to stop it very quickly. The door was open and got caught on the cement wall that lines my driveway as it rolled back. There is damage to the door and it will likely need to be completely replaced. The next morning I had my friend come over to follow me to a body shop to assess the damage. I reversed my car to the end of my driveway and got out to close the garage door. The same thing happened again right when I stepped out of the car, and I again had to jump back in very quickly to stop it from rolling into the street. I then had it towed to the nearest dealer (on 1/15), where they replaced the vacuum pump because the service stability control light was on. They claim to have tested it on a slope and could not replicate the problem. They checked it out and could not find anything wrong with the transmission either. I got my car back on 1/22 (with the door still needing to be fixed) and this happened again on 1/23. I pulled into my driveway, put it in park, and my car immediately rolled back. I then put my 4-wheel drive on and the parking brake and parked it. It was not rolling so I went inside. I looked at it before bed and it was in the same spot. The next morning I go out to my car and it has rolled backwards down my driveway. Luckily, it did not go into the street. I could have easily been injured on multiple occasions, as well as other people or cars if they were around. The next time I might not get so lucky.

3 months ago, I was getting my all-season tires installed in lieu of my winter ones. They told me that the lug nuts on all four of my wheels were swollen and I needed to get a replacement as they could not use them. It was my first time hearing this terminology. I asked for clarification and was told that due to severe rust they cannot be used. 15 days ago, i heard some squeaking coming from the tires. I took it to the mechanic and was told that I have to replace the rear wheel pads. I took it yesterday to have them replaced and when they took off the tires, they called me in to witness that the rear disk brake rotors are totally rusted from the inside out, were badly deteriorated, and some pieces were falling off. They checked the front wheels as well, and they had the same issue as well. An issue such as this could lead to severe consequences and could potentially be life threating. The rear rotors and pads became so pitted and damaged so quickly that the brakes shake like a mad man and it seems to be extremely common in the newer jeeps. A remedy or recall for inferior materials used in the pads or rotors may be needed. I know it’s about 30% braking in the rear so in theory those pads/rotors should certainly last far longer.

At thirty thousand miles, I had to have driver sign motor mount replacement, then at forty one thousand one hundred and fifty two miles and to have the passenger side replaced. According to the dealership, this is a very common problem. Liquid from the motor mountains.Do you have to all the way to the laundry on both sides. If I wouldn't have noticed it. As you can relate the motor mounts, it caused the engine to torque because accidents.

On [XXX], while traveling on an interstate highway, I heard what sounded like a metal hitting metal coming from my left front tire. After parking my car I noticed what appeared to be the left front Sway Bar Link had become disconnected. (I have attached pictures to this report). On Wednesday [XXX], The car was taken to a Jeep Dealership for Repairs (Sansone Auto Mall 90-100 Route 1 Avenel NJ 07001) where they replaced the front Sway Bar Link. The purpose of the Sway Bar is so the vehicle can maintain stability and control when operating/steering the car. Specifically if you have to make quick turns or evasive steering to avoid dangers in the road. My vehicle only has 19,000 miles and this part should not have failed as it did. At the time of the malfunction I was traveling on an interstate highway and fortunately was able to safely operate my car. There were no warning lamps or alerts prior to this incident. My safety was put at risk as I was on a major interstate and had I needed to make a quick lane change or avoid a sudden danger this failed part could have caused me to lose control of the car. The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH during rainy weather conditions, a vehicle in the left lane attempted to turn into the lane in which she was in however that driver did not wait for the contact to pass and resulted in crashing into the middle-rear of the driver side. The other driver did not have his turning signals illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. During the incident, the contact crashed into a curb and then into a residential yard. The contact was able to get the vehicle out of the yard. The police arrived on the scene, and there was a police report filed. There were no injuries reported. The vehicle was driven dealer the following day; and diagnosed failure with a left pension, chamber link, bearing, toe suspension, rear axel, and compression; all those parts were replaced. The vehicle was then driven to a tire shop for alignment repair. The contact then experienced failure with the vehicle inadvertently jerking her off the road. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; who performed a test drive and informed the contact the lane departure was not operating. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Options to toggle front pedestrian breaking now missing that would turn off the light. I was approaching the location where I was about to turn and began to slow down. Out of no where, the forward collision detection system was set off and automatic braking was applied, causing the SUV behind me to go right off the roadway to avoid a rear end collision. Traffic was extremely heavy at the time. The motorist caught up with me at the location I eventually turned into and accused me of slamming on brakes on purpose. I explained to them the malfunction that occured; however, they were still rightfully upset due to them having children in their vehicle, which caused panic. I let them know I would be reaching out to report the situation, as well as turning off the supposed safety feature until the issue could be rectified. This was a very dangerous situation and could have resulted in a major traffic collision, causing serious injury or death. I do have a dashcam video of the incident.

I have had TWO incidents where the automatic emergency brake has engaged. The first was in a parking lot at low speed with no cars or objects near the car. The car completely seized up and I had to get a tow truck to take it to the dealer. The second incident I had to slow to zero for a dog in the road and then after it moved and I accelerated the brake engaged and I had to pull out of the road way so I would not get hit from behind. After the car sat parked for 8 hours I was able to drive it to dealer with an engine light on. At dealer the light went off so they were not able to diagnose anything .

Forward collision warning system and auto emergency braking system non operative since vehicle was purchased from new. Have paper work from local dealership confirmation that systems are non operative but they can not fix and do not know why. Was told that this is an issue on all Jeep’s. Corporate has a case open but will not call me back and when I call them system states that I can leave a voicemail with my case worker but then hangs up with no options to speak to anyone.

The car keeps dying while I’m driving and saying “shift to park” and then slamming on the brakes and dying. The card is 4 years old with 44k miles. I had to sit on the side of the road in 93 degree heat in Florida while pregnant and waiting on a tow truck. How has someone not died because of this? I’ve seen SEVERAL posts of people saying the same thing happened to theirs. It’s SO unsafe.

I was driving approximately 55 MPH on the highway when my vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration. I received an alert on the dash and a chime - the alert stated "Shift to P to Start" - with no other warnings and no CEL or Check Engine light. Pressing the gas, even to the floor, did nothing. I was forced to brake the car to a stop on the shoulder, shut off the engine, and restart the vehicle. Afterwards, I experienced some slight hesitation which resolved, and then was able to drive the rest of the trip without issues. Having the vehicle lose all power on the highway without warning is a serious safety issue.

Vehicle shuts off (engine) randomly during driving. This is the third occurrence. After waiting a few minutes vehicle is ‘fine.’ Dealership is not able to ‘replicate’ the issue. Serious safety issue. How can I operate my vehicle ethically, when I know it could shut off randomly … particularly on a fast moving highway? Dealership says it sees no error codes or issues. Vehicle died suddenly in traffic 2 times. Was able to restart after a short while. Was a serious safety issue as I was at highway speed 1 of the 2 times. Vehicle is now at an independent garage. 40k miles. Not under warranty. Has not been inspected or diagnosed yet. No warning lights or codes showing.

The contact called on behalf of her mother who owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while her mother was driving at an undisclosed speed, she lost consciousness, and the vehicle veered off the road. The vehicle hit the fence, then crashed into a tree, and the tree fell on the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact's mother was assisted out of the vehicle by emergency services and was transported to the hospital, where she was informed that she had sustained bruised ribs, split bottom lip, bruised left upper arm, pain on the left side of the body, and bruises on the area of the chest under which the pacemaker was placed as the chest hit the steering wheel. The contact's mother was currently receiving physical therapy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a Road Side Assistance Services location. The dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a Jeep field inspector would perform the inspection of the vehicle and would copy information from the EDR, which could be shared with NHTSA upon request. The contact stated while accelerating after having stopped at a traffic signal at approximately 15 MPH she felt the steering wheel had locked, pulled the vehicle to the right, and crashed into a guard rail. I believe it is something with the engine or an electrical component. I was driving and as I was parking my car shut off, was not able to completely park back end of the car is sticking out. I looked up if there were any current recalls using my VIN and nothing appeared. I did my own researching and found that there have been recalls for that model regarding the PTU, Power Steering and Power Loss which is the issue I am experiencing. My car turns off on its own and does not get any type of power. Started having trouble turning on my car over Labor Day weekend was not able to travel due to what I thought was my battery having issues, people were jumping me to be able to start my car. I then had my battery tested at O'Reilly's on 9/3/2025 and when trying to jump start my car they shorted my engine block fuse which I was told after having my car towed to the mechanic and they took a look at it. I replaced my main battery thinking that would solve the issue and it did not and this was before the mechanic looked at it. I then had it towed to a mechanic where they replaced the engine block fuse and I was told that the car was good and running after paying on 9/19/2025. I left the mechanic and came to work where after two hours I tried to start my car and it did not. I called the mechanic and was told it was my auxiliary battery after they came to look at the car and inspect it once again that same day 9/19/2025. I purchased and replaced the auxiliary battery and was able to start and drive the car for 1.6 miles to my brothers apartment from my work before the car turned off on me as I was trying to park. There was an error message on the car at the time when it turned off which read with a caution symbol, "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" and then turned off.

I was driving down the highway and all of the sudden and with zero warning the engine cut off but the effect it had on the car was very severe engine braking as it automatically downshifted very aggressively which caused me to go from about 80mph to a stop VERY quickly. The dash looked as if I simply had the car switched to on without starting the engine. There were no warning lights lit. Shifting into park and turning the car completely off and back on allowed it to start again with no further symptoms.

My 21 Jeep Cherokee shipped from Detroit Stellantis HUGE cover up FLOOD car. My JEEP is 8 mons new. I leased it 12/7 contacted Uconnect on 12/13 for Powertrain Malfunction indicator light on. Dealer claims vehicle health reports aren’t accurate. At dealer 3/14/22 service found stored fault for oil, low oil, carpet was destroyed, getting oil changed at 2300 miles. Dealer only recorded oil change on car fax. 3/31st- June I filed a buy back claim w/ Chrysler. Chrysler denied. At dealer 6/11 code P060A, stop/ start doesn’t work, car stalls, radio turns up/down on its own, center consaul base popped out, burning Oil life rapidly. No work done. At dealer 6/14 ”faulty oil pump” said manager, car bucks on highway, car locked me out at 12:30 am called Uconnect they couldn’t bypass. They stated door was open still locked out, stranded multiple times, car will not start. Dealer has me reschedule get rental 6/21-6/29 to replace oil pump, and fix all issues. Dealer state My oil tank is full but dash says 41% oil .Electrical sys. is messed up Called lemon law atty, accepted case. Chrysler receives atty CLAIM whileJeep was still in the shop. dealer didn’t fix anything BUT ROTTED CARPET- OIL PUMP on back order CHRYSLER REFUSES to pay for loaner while oil pump is on back order. The car DOESN’T start. Pump to arrive late July. VM from dealer, Chrysler told dealer my vehicle is SAFE TO DRIVE w/ faulty oil pump. I called dealer to find out status of pump my Jeep needs another oil change at 5,000 mls & ENGINE LIGHT ON Dealer refused srvc b/c Chrysler told them about the lawsuit. Atty called dealer stated it’s a claim against Chrysler. Dealer still refused. My car won’t start,ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. TONS OF SAFETY ISSUES Called another Chrysler dealer VM they REFUSED to service Jeep. 7/23 took JEEP to 3rd Chrysler dealer found: PO6DA, B25AF-2A, B1561-13 Dealer SAID UNSAFE TO DRIVE! Two separate incidents, my Grand Cherokee L has less than 100 miles on it. I pulled into a drive thru restaurant and the vehicle completely shut off, still in drive mode. Then 5 minutes later I went to pull into a parking spot, I put the vehicle in park, then it shut off again.

On 7/29/2021, approximately 2pm, driving on Front Hall Rd. leading to our home. Reduced speed to between 15/20 MPH in order to slow down and prepare to turn right into our driveway. Suddenly, the engine shutdown. I had no brakes or power steering. The car came to a stop on its own, since nothing was working. A sign on the computer screen can on stating to put the car in park and restart the car. About an hour later I got the car to service department at I-10 Jeep, Ram dodge in Indio CA.. Today I called to get an update on my car. They said, service was calling Chrysler about the problem. They also said, one of their manager was driving a new grand cherokee L mode like mine and he had same problem with the engine shutting down. They did a computer update on his car, but it continued with engine shut down on test driving it. They advised that a factory rep. would be at the dealership on August 2nd or 3rd to review the problem. This is a serious safety concern when the engine shuts down while moving. Luckily, I wasn't traveling at a higher speed in heavy traffic when the engine shut down occurred. My car has below 400 miles. I purchased the car on July 15, 2021.

Driving Jeep and engine stop, only had steering no brakes fortunately our speed was less than 10 miles per hr and we were in a parking lot. There is only about 770 miles on vehicle and we’ve owned the Jeep 3 weeks. Our concern is what would of happen if we were in heavy traffic, it was rush hour at the time? The dealer is picking up car tomorrow but that doesn’t fix our concerns!

On Two seperate occasions, the message telling me to "Shift into P, and then desired gear." appeared while driving. I shifted into P while parked at an intersection both times and the car died. The second time it happened as I was driving away from Rairdon's Jeep in WA. I made it one street after having my ignition system replaced to the tune of $2,600. Was able to turn the car around and get it back to them. They have had my car for almost a month and state there is no error code, so they cannot diagnose.

On Feb 5, 2025, vehicle was started with remote start (in garage with garage door open). Within a few minutes, the entire cabin was engulfed in flames. No warnings, no prior vehicle issues, no recalls. Fire department was called and got fire out. Cause unknown, but appears to have been related to electrical. No or minimal damage under hood. Insurance now has possession of vehicle. Unsure of inspection but they did gather photos and declare a total loss. This could have happened while I was driving, injuring me, my family and others. My heat and air and defrost comes on and off when it is raining my defrost do not work that is a safety hazard if I Can not defrost my window when it rain and snow nothing works in my truck it works when it wants to . This should be a recall this was a brand new when I brought it should not be having these problems already at theses miles , also my locks don’t want to lock my driver door I have to push it lock.

When the cruise control is activated and the set(+) button to accelerate the car continues to accelerate after the button is released. The vehicle will accelerate to 100mph or higher. I have to deactivate the cruise control to get it to stop accelerating. The vehicle is available for inspection. +Unsafe to use cruise control for fear of excessive speed. I have taken to dealer, they say it is not covered under warranty. No other inspections have been performed. There are no warning messages or other symptoms indicating a failure. The problem first appeared when I purchased the vehicle in June of 2024.

Additionally, the contact stated that upon releasing the brake pedal, while the vehicle was in drive(D), the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The contact stated while driving 25-35 MPH and depressing the brake pedal to make a turn, the vehicle failed to decelerate as needed, causing the contact to pass the turn and almost caused a crash. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned around. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the Nissan dealer where it was purchased, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The Chrysler dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,354.

I was driving on a road when the car suddenly accelerated for no apparent reason. I hit the brake and nothing happened. When the car accelerated, it was like when you hit resume when you have cruise control on. I did not have cruise control on. To avoid hitting a vehicle in front of me, I went off the road to the right, hit a chain link fence and stopped in a field. The car was declared a total loss by the insurance company. Earlier that day, the car was giving me a warning to brake, when I was not near another vehicle. On other occasions before this, the car would tell me to put my hands on the steering wheel when I was gripping the steering wheel.

The accelerator throttle be became stuck in open throttle and an error message came on. I pushed the brakes it eventually stopped after like 5 seconds and slowed down when the error message came on and eventually came to a crawl, it was stuck ⅘ of the way, but if I pushed it further it would not go. It was in track mode and I was using the paddle shifters. So I pulled over, stopped, and put it in park and restarted and it was fine. There were no symptoms prior to the issue. This was the first time it happened. It has not been inspected. It is available for inspection upon request. I had two other people in the car and no cars infront of me so I was fortunate, there could have been an accident.

on mopar recall service done shows it had been serviced and bunch of lies i have never taken my 2021 jeep to get serviced for power steering issue. barely came out 1 week ago and crazy service man at BOGGUS TIPTON JEEP in Brownsville texas named Josh, white male wanted to charge 4500 dollars to repair knowing supposibly there was an issue recall and i declined so wanted to charge me 2500 after i declined. he was more than likely gonna charge chrysler and me both ways to make the dealership double the money for a bull**** fix. my jeep has never been in service for the power steering recall. after readings previous comments i think chrysler is lying that the fixed and issue on many customers of recalls. [please check your vin and put a complaint and call chrysler like i am tomorrow and will get an attorney involved for a false fix and claim

Not the first time but while I am driving the car steering will lock and I can no longer move it. The latest was when I went to see fireworks with my kids and while on the way there I was going to turn and while turning the steering locked and I couldn’t turn anymore so I had to break before I hit a pole but another car almost crashed into me, honked at me, and flicked me off. On the way home I was driving straight and Had to turn but couldn’t because the steering wheel locked and I almost drove into a canal. This is a safety issue that concerns me and I am scared for my life and my kids life and at this point I’m scared to drive because I don’t know when it will lock. I’ve taken it to jeep many times with no solution.

I was sitting in school pick up line with the Jeep off. I started it and everything was normal, until I pulled into the road. The power steering went out and the light on dash said lane management not working needs service. The light for the adaptive lane cruise control came on. I was driving and when I was trying to turn I would have to turn the wheel almost 360°! There was no issues or warnings lights prior to this happening. I called dealer and they got me in the next day. They say it needed a update but it's scary if this just happens without warning, especially if you are on the road.

Two issues: power steering warning with no fix. Light remains illuminated. Second: ALM (Active Lane Management) will turn off sporadically and not turn back on. Sometimes takes a few stop and restart of the engine for the ability to turn back on.

For my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Antilock braking system, Hydraulic control unit has failed. It is currently being repaired by the dealership, and I will request the old part so that it is available for inspection. The failure of the ABS control unit, disabled the electronic stability control, the forward collision warning system and the cruise control - and the issue appears to be directly equivalent to the current Stellantis recall for Ram 1500's of a similar year. The dealer was able to reproduce the error - and was inspected at a Jeep dealership.

Crossing 4 way intersection with no cars or animals in site and while accelerating at about 40 mph vehicle came to a shuddering halt in the middle of the road for no reason. My husband and I were both thrown forward whipping our necks back and forth and my collar bone taking a direct hit with the seat belt. There were no sounds to warn us, no lights came on it just slammed its own brakes for no reason. My dealership brought me a loaner and vehicle was towed to them where they are working on getting the issue solved, but I am going to be terrified this will happen again and rightly so.

Driving through my subdivision, no other cars in sight, no animals, no people, nothing in front of me and the automatic emergency braking mechanism engaged and brought my car to a sudden stop.The brakes engaged on their own, tires squeeled and my body jolted, almost hitting my head on steering wheel. Automatic brake sensors have activated before for no reason as no objects were in sight, but never has the vehicle actually stopped on its own. Luckily I was in my subdivision with no one behind me otherwise someone could have rear ended me and an accident would have occurred with injuries

I was driving 45-55mph,closest vehicle was about 4-5 car links in front on me, driving about same speed-when the breaks locked up. I had not hit the break! On my dash where the mph is located it turned red and said BREAK.It made the jeep pretty well come to a complete stop in a second. The seat belt caught my neck,my son (passages) seat belt caught his belt and hurt his stomach, my son (back seat driver side) hit the drivers seat pretty hard. I have now took my jeep into the dealer. No word yet in there findings. This was scary and could have ended very badly. We was fortunate enough not to have wreaked or worse. I don’t know who or where to contact someone about this issue.

Engine died twice on busy freeway and needed to be towed to a shop. Shop verified the fuel pump was working. There is most likely a problem with the fuel pump relay.

The vehicle does not start each time you attempt to start it. Randomly, with no specific conditions to replicate, you will start the vehicle and the starter will engage, but the vehicle will not start. The push button start will time out, you attempt to start the vehicle again, and it starts. This, from my research, is a known issue with 2016-2020ish Jeeps, with a fault in the Fuel Pump Relay, with the easiest fix to remote start your vehicle each and ever time you start it. This happens several times per week. I contacted the dealership we purchased the vehicle from, and our local Jeep service department. They were familiar with this issue, acknowledged its a pretty big problem, but because it is not a recall for Jeeps, there is nothing they can do except for me to bring it in and pay for all of the fixes for a known production issue.

Electric start is cranking but engine takes up to 10 seconds or longer to turn over. This happens from cold start and even the stop start when in drive at a stop sign or stop light. It is either an issue with fuel injection/fuel pump or something else as it is not a battery issue just replaced them to be sure or a starter issue.

When starting car, the push to start feature will not turn over and continuously cranks multiple times. The entire fuse box was replaced because the dealer told me that was the issue. The car is a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Numerous people online said they were forced to replace the fuel pump? Although Faulkner Buick in Trevose told me that there’s nothing wrong with my fuel pump. I can’t keep getting charged for repairs that are not necessary. Could this be a faulty part? that so many people have the same issue? Could you please investigate this as I just bought the car a month ago And it’s been at the dealer three times already. There is a delay in my car starting when I push the start button. When doing some research online to see what the possible issue might be I found that other cars with the same make/model/year had this issue and was apart of a recall for the fuel pump relay.

My 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not start / turn over and if it did the car will shut off. This has been happening for the past week or so. I took it to my local Jeep dealership today and they are stating that both the fuel pump and the water pump need to be replaced. They also stated that the fuel pump recall does not apply to my vin. In addition to my fuel pump needing to be replaced, my water pump has failed too. It is severely leaking water. My Jeep is only 4 years old with barely 70,000 mi and is experiencing severe safety issues. I cannot drive it as it could shut down unexpectedly while I am driving thereby posing a major safety risk.

Buckle no longer works to buckle seat belt

Per the Jeep Dealership that currently has my car, they said the Drivers side seatbelt failed, the buckle will not lock. The male part will not go into the female part. There is no foreign object in the female part of the seat belt. My safety is put at risk every moment I'm in the car without a seatbelt on along with it being against the law to not have your seatbelt on. There is no warning lights that came on as the computer thinks the seatbelt is actually clicked in because its broken. A seatbelt should never fail especially on a 3 year old vehicle, however my extended warranty won't cover the "safety restraint system" and Jeep doesn't feel that they should have to replace it either.

my wife was driving. SUV was doing about 50 mph on highway. With left hand she hit the paddle shifter on the steering wheel. SUV went from auto trans mode to lower gear manual mode. Engine jump up in rpms, had to pull off road, stop car, restart car to get back into auto trans driving. This 2021 Grand Cherokee L has no way to disable the paddle shifters if you do not want to use them. This driving change can happen anytime, local or highway driving. You need to have them come up with software fix to disable paddle shifters.

The contact stated that the crack obstructed his and his wife's vision while driving. The contact's wife called an independent mechanic and a dealer and both informed her that they could not replace or program the windshield. She was then referred to another independent mechanic through the insurance provider who informed her that they could program the windshield; however, the replacement windshield for her model vehicle had not yet been released. Passenger seat lumbar inflated out and won't go back down. It has also popped off the back plastic on the seat. This is a known issue as we have found multiple incidents online. It is causing discomfort and pain when sitting. No inspections yet as we fear it could cost thousands to fix with less than 50k miles on the vehicle.

Vehicle's driver seat frame makes popping noises when you put excess strain on the seat (i.e. change your seat position or shuffle around in your seat and whenever you are driving and apply the brakes and/or make a turn. Getting worse as i drive the vehicle more and more.

I went to turn on my Jeep Grand Cherokee L and received a "service power steering error message". I turned off the car, and when I went to turn it back on the reverse detection warning went off, the odometer consistently blinked and the service engine light came on. I was unable to reverse the car or drive the car forward and required it to be towed. I had two small kids in the car without power steering so significantly at risk. The vehicle is enroute to the local Jeep dealer and there were no warning signs or issues with the car prior.

Driving on a highway when I got multiole error messages on my dash informing me that my power steering was unavailable, blind spot was unavailable, AEB was unavailable, ACC was unavailable, as well as active lane management was unavailable- and to service these immediately. My dash continued to beep and filter through these error messages for the remainder of my drive. During this, none of these features were working- as well as my power steering not working. This is the second time this has happened. Both times at highway speeds. Appointment has been made at dealership to have it looked at.

Started noticing hard reverse shift when vehicle was cold. Took to the dealership, tech could not find any issues other than it shifted hard in reverse. Tech found no leaks, performed PCM reflash. Still no problems found. Tech did not check transmission fluid level on vehicle. Must be checked at the dealership. Tech recommended replacing transmission even though could not find any issues. A few days later while driving at highway speed the vehicle suddenly downshifted to 3rd gear nearly causing me to loose control. Vehicle would not shift into fourth gear. Had to limp vehicle home.

Vehicle was left at dealer on 12/3 to address the infotainment screen gltiching and turning off and to address a recall. The dealer performed a software update and addressed the recall. I picked vehicle up on Saturday, 12/4. The infotainment screen flashed off again and I noticed the transmission shutters and bangs during a downshift and when I lift off the gas pedal. It was observed on Sunday, 12/5 that the nightvision images freezes and glitches while using.

During the first 3,000 miles of owning the vehicle, on 3 separate occasions, the vehicle has failed to shift from first to second gear, appearing to get stuck in neutral. Because this is occurring when the vehicle is first beginning to accelerate this is happening when entering intersections, changing lanes, and crossing lanes causing the vehicle to rev while either coasting (due to the positive motion prior to shifting) or sit motionless when on-coming traffic is approaching. The only way to get the vehicle back in motion is to completely stop the vehicle (irrespective of the dangerous location) put the vehicle in park, then back in drive, and try accelerating again in hopes that the vehicle will shift on a second attempt. One one of the three occasions so far, this occurred while exiting a parking lot but before entering a changing lane on a busy street. On another occasion it caused me to get stuck on a blind curve. The issue occurs intermittently and to date I have not been able to get the dealer to remedy the issue. Their text msg response at TransitTowne Jeep Chrysler Dodge RAM in Elma, New York, is that "..there is no codes in the system and there is no updates available for the software. There is nothing to diagnose if there is no code and everything checks out in the system. ... The Jeep does have an 8 speed transmission that is all electronically controlled and it can take some getting used to." This is the response I received after dropping the vehicle off at 10 a.m. and receiving a call the same day that my car is ready to be picked up at exactly 1:03 p.m. (which included the time to perform an oil change, tire rotation, resolve a missing trim issue, and investigate an issue with the tailgate). The only warning was the beep that goes off when the car is in close proximity of an impact (due to the other cars approaching as I try to get the back in motion) but the warning is useless until I can get the car back in motion to avoid an impact.

On many occasions, warning lights come on for no reason. The dealer has "updated" software, but to no avail.. Collision warning, stop/start error, throttle body error and more. On the last event we were driving uphill, approx 25 mph, nobody in front of us, and the brakes slammed on with multiple errors showing.. the car then lurched forward with active breaking, stop start error, throttle body sensor all showing up and going away. This happened 4 times on the evening of Sep 15th. The errors and random and intermittent.. They replaced a "secondary" battery at one point, and that did nothing. They told us we needed to drive it for over 100 miles, to charge the battery, but it did not fix the stop/start or any other error. Now it is in the Cerritos dodge dealer and we have a formal complaint filed with Chrystler.. The dealer states they can't find any problems.. During most of the events, the errors and warning lights do not stay on longer than a few seconds. I have one picture I was able to take when the warning lights stayed on a little longer.

Purchased new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Overland in December 2021. The SUV has 2900 miles on it. Since purchase, the auto park engages at random moments most recently today when pulling out of drive thru lane. I began to drive the jeep forward and it locked up and engaged park brake. This has happened on numerous occasions. I went to get in the Jeep a few days ago. Started the engine and the brake engaged itself before even putting the vehicle in reverse. The touch screen in the dash that controls all functions of the SUV including radio, car play, heat/cooling, vehicle settings will randomly shut off and go black while traveling. While using the paired phone setting when making a call, the speakers produce a swishing/scrubbing sound that will not stop while the call is in session. New today, the windshield washer fluid light is on and the fluid is full. Due to "staffing shortages," can't get the Jeep into the local dealer until March 11th to be examined. Such a joke for a $60K vehicle.

I took my vehicle in for a recall on Saturday. I left with the auto start stop warning light on. They said the cable was fried and part was on back order, otherwise it was fully drivable. I started it for this first time since Saturday on Monday morning. I began to drive and the AEB immediately slammed on. Every warning light started to flash. Including the hazards. I had to unload my kids through the driver side, as the other doors wouldn’t open from inside or outside. The locks nor the windows would roll down. On the suspension it said to turn the engine on, however the engine was on.

Vehicle shifts from park to drive jumping gears ,making loud noises, Accelerating by its self and jumps aggressively into gear. Transmission is slipping, late engagement when shifting, and shifting rough. sometimes it will low rpm. Rpm is going up and down. Making total transmission failure and transfer case failure. Melting the hot and cold lines. Mechanic found aluminum melted and oil burn. Rpms fluctuate and gets hung up during shifting while driving.

The electronic stability control has malfunctioned and the 4wd svc light has comeon. The vehicle shifts hard when taking off at low speed. When coming to a stop there is a loud pop from transfer case. Also the 4wd low and neutral comes on by themselves. This vehicle definitely has safety issues. I just bought this vehicle and just barely have 1000 miles on it. How is thus safe? The hard shifting started around 6/1/2024 the electronic stability, svc 4wd, going into 4wd low and neutral all started on 6/23/24

The front A-pillars (on both sides of the windshield) are too wide, and block critical visibility needed while driving, especially at crosswalks with pedestrians. In addition, from the driver's seat, the passenger's outside mirror, doesn't allow for any visibility between the pilar frame and the mirror, thus further widening the blind spot on the right side making it difficult to see pedestrians in crosswalks.

It sounds like a fuel pump issue. I WAS DRIVING MY NEW GRAND CHEROKEE WITH 121 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. AS I WAS MOVING FORWARD WITH THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO TURN AROUND TO- RE-ENTER A HIGHWAY THE ENGINE STOPPED. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO LUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN PARK WITH THE WHEELS TURNED TO THE LEFT. THE REST OF THE ELECTRONICS WORKED BUT THE THE VEHICLE LOCKED IN PARK IT COULD NOT BE MOVED. THIS REPRESENTS AN EXTREME HAZARD TO THE MOTORING PUBLIC AS IF I HAD GONE 10 FEET FURTHER AND THE ENGINE STALLED I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE ENGINEERING BY JEEP. TWO TOWING COMPANIES ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THIS VEHICLE FROM PARK WITH NO SUCCESS. VERY HAZARDOUS AND DISAPPOINTING WORK BY CHRYSLER.

Recalled Rear Coils, over 2-3 months ago, Taken to Jeep Dealership in Morgantown Wv, Taken for front ball joint knuckle pin coming lose, Causing the upper ball joint to start to make noise, unable to control steering when raining or going over bump video was send to mopar when claim and complaint at the time, Prior two weeks before also called and report it, someone canceled my call, and said they had no remedy at that time. Was told they had no remedy for recall at that time. Morgantown jeep then proceeded to fix the rear suspension coil recall. Never notified me the part that was recalled was in fact broken when it was removed. Instead replaced it then told me my rear suspension, Structs, and say bar links are broken on both sides of my rear end which mechanically is attached to these coils which is the resulting damages of driving the vehicle for 40,000 miles with improper installed coils. I report this to Mopar when giving them the car, the rear end always bounced. I went through my first set of tires in less than 18,000 miles due to this. My Case managers name was mary, She was very Rude. Called me a liar more than once. They would not even call me to come pick my car up. When talking to the Customer service guy at jeep in morganttown. He said mary said fix only the parts and only what the exact recalled said. and they would not evaluate or do anything for my Front control arm and pinch bolt, they tighted it, I even submitted photos where they just tightened it submitted to mopar. Also asked for submission of buy back program due to value dropping more than 10,000 dollars in 3 weeks time, Attempted trade off for 38,000- owed 42,000 in Octor 2022. Nov price dropped to 32,000 trade in. Value now for trade in due to severity of mechanical issues is now down to less than 28,000, I said 55,000 dollars for this car. I have a 2.5% interest rate and did not carry over anything over MSRP on this Vehicle. I am unable to trade it. And the vehicle is barely drivable.

Manufacturer's full size tire as made by Nexen was defect from the factory and is unsafe to use. However neither the Jeep Dealer nor the Tire manufacturer will make good on a replacement. The Full Size Spare has never been used and has over 7 parallel gouges on the inner sidewall. It came like that from the dealer. No one wants to make it good. Because of their nature the gouge marks look to be made by heavy machinery like in a tire factory with conveyor belts.

I was notified that my vehicle is involved in a recall for Potential Steering Knuckle separation. I proceeded to contact Jeep (both dealer and Recall department) to know what is going to be done about this. I proceeded to inform the agent that I was concerned with my safety regarding this recall, and was told by the agent that at the moment they have no means to repair the problem, they cannot provide me a solution in regards to a safer car, and if the car had issues related to this recall that I would just have to deal with it. The company denied providing me a lease or rented car in the mean time, denied me any timeline for a solution and disregarded my safety concerns regarding this risk. I am and my family is at risk of serious injury/death in the event that the wheel can fall outward while driving as a loss of “clamp load” defects.

Frequently all lights go on while driving check engine goes on here and there on the highway. Loud noise when you start the car and continues for about 2 min after the car is turned off as well.. All lights went on and was unable To move the vehicle in the middle of a street. I have taken the vehicle in several times to 2 different dealers and I am told there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s a danger to my family and I for the car to continue to do these things as the car is unable to be moved..

The power steering icon lit up on the dash saying to bring it in for service. Tbe steering felt labored. The vehicle had under 2000 miles on it. After driving around for about 30 mins and then turning it off and going into a store I css as me out turned in the vehicle and all was fine again. The lane departure icon also said it was unavailable. This seems to happen when the temperature is cold outside. There was also a yellow icon that looked like a car crash that lit up on another night and said to bring in for service emergency braking was unavailable. These is quite unnerving gvyo happen in a brand new vehicle. I have read of many others having similar issues with their grand Cherokee L

Sometimes when first started and other times while driving, the main touch screen dies and certain functionality is lost though the car is still drivable. Everything controlled by the touch screen stops (radio, cameras, heating/cooling) but blinkers do not work, front wipers turn on and can't be turned off, high beams turn on and off, and cruise control turns on and off. If this happens while driving, a message saying "SOS Call unavailable. Please visit an authorized dealer" pops up. If it happens when the engine is first started, nothing appears on the screen.

Driving vehicle at highway speeds, indicators and alarms started going off saying the power steering, airbags, brake assist, and park sense features were unavailable. I exited the interstate, parked in a nearby parking lot, turned off and restarted my car. All indicator lights were normal, so I began driving again. Approximately 43 miles later, also driving at highway speeds, the same indicator lights and alarms appeared. I exited the highway and tried turning off and restarting the car. Upon restarting, all indicator lights and warning messages stayed on, and the power steering was no longer functional. The car had to be towed to a local dealership.

While driving 70mph on highway, all lights on dash illuminated, lane assist malfunctioned, wipers went on, blinkers stopped working, vehicle lost speed quickly. Was able to move it off the road, but stopped running before being completely on shoulder. Vehicle would not turn on again in any capacity and hazard warning lights would not function. Needed to have vehicle towed, awaiting final report on issues. No warning was given before this malfunction occured.

Vehicle reported on instrument cluster a loss of Electronic Stability Control, Power Steering, blind spot alert, adaptive cruise control, and cruise control. We have been having electronic issues for >2 months. Previously the vehicle reported an estart fault and would randomly engage the ebrake. It would not allow disengaging the ebrake unless the car was restarted and/or hood was opened and shut. This occured while turning left at a light causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the intersection. We have had the vehicle serviced 2 times, and now will return it for a third time for these electronics issues.

While driving over Donner Summit (7000 ft elevation) on HWY 80 towards Reno, the Sun Roof shattered with a loud pop. Fortunately, the sun roof visor was closed so shattered glass didn't make it into the car. When driving at highway speeds, the front hood flutters up and down really fast, which is a huge distraction as it draws the drivers attention and when the sunlight hits it just right, it causes a flashing beam of light like a strobe effect in the drivers eyes.

Car has had erratic electric steering at low speed when making turns. Weird noise from electric steering system. We drove 6 miles to a local park. Walked the trails then got back into this car. Started up. Warnings came up on screen. 1 Service Stability system, 2 service blind spot monitor system, 3 rear collision avoidance unavailable, 4 Blind spot monitoring system became inoperative. 5. Electric steering became extremely difficult to operate. We restarted car 2 times and all the above warnings came on each time. As it was Saturday Evening, we limped car home. Parked in Garage and I started it 2 hours later with all the above warnings. Left overnight and started Sunday afternoon 2/11/23, no warnings. Drove car to selling dealership, parked in line for repairs and it is still there. Dealership has finally gotten in an entire electric steering assembly, as this was the stored codes from 2/10/23, and they are supposed to be installing it tomorrow 2/24/2023. Failure of an electric steering unit on a car that has no physical connection between the steering wheel and the front tires is a chilling event that needs tobe investigated. Thankfully I did not wreck the car, but I parked it because of the malfunction, and on hindsight, I should have had it hauled to the Dealership instead of driving it there.

On 11/11/21 I started vehicle and placed in drive to pull out of driveway. Upon moving the steering wheel became locked and would not allow me to steer. The “Service active dampening system “ warning came on along with “Service power steering”. I was able to put vehicle in reverse and back into driveway but the steering was still not functioning. After vehicle sat off for few minutes I restarted and appeared fine but check engine light came on. I took to dealer the same day. After 3 days they could only determine that the computer had shut down. No other explanation or resolution except that if happens again to have it towed there. What if this were to happen while driving at highway speed?

Turning the car on, there was a failure of our power steering and the steering wheel was not functional. Check engine light and power steering error lights came on. After turning car on and off, we were able to drive (check engine light remained on) to a dealership. They performed a software update that Chrysler released in Oct 2022. This is the second time this has happened to us (first in April 2022, car had to be towed), there are forums of similar issues for this model. Dealer was able to pull the codes and said they have seen other similar instances of this issue. "We cannot guarantee this won't happen again" it was physically inspected and did not see any obvious issues. This is absolutely a safety issue and should result in a recall in my opinion if it is a known issue that is a safety hazard.

The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle from the dealer, she attempted to shift the gear selector to neutral, however, the gear shifter failed. The contact stated that the steering wheel ceased. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The local dealer diagnosed the vehicle and informed the contact that the quadra drive needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the dealer attempted to repair the steering twelve times however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that recently the brake warning light was illuminated, and the contact was unable to turn on or turn off the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to another local dealer Glendale Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Parts & Service (Glendale Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Parts & Service: (818) 242-4161) however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

On 12/31/2022, I received six notifications from my app regarding “theft alarm triggered”. Go outside horn is honking. Turn off and continued. January 2, 2023 I brought vehicle into jeep as my entire dash was glitching in and out. Couldn’t see my speed limit. Interior lights were turning on and off. Back light on interior tailgate was blinking. They had my car a few days and it was “fixed”. February 3, 2023 vehicle wouldn’t start. Replaced battery. Vehicle dash began glitching, interior lights turning on and off and theft alarm notifications. Brought into jeep they said it was the battery even though we just replaced battery. They replaced battery and called me to pick up the next day. 2/7/2023 same issues began occurring. However, when car was powered off, a buzzing sound was heard and interior lights were turning on and off. 2/8/2023 vehicle would not start. Had to be towed to dealership. Concerned there is an electrical issue that could cause a fire. Unsure if issue was reproduced but I have several videos all time stamped and dated to show delegates what is happening.

High Beam headlights don't work when the headlight switch is in AUTO mode. Problem has been confirmed with Bozak Motors in Merrillville and they advised that there is a bulletin out advising them not to attempt repair as engineers are working on issue. Further research on my own reveled that they have 3 other of the same vehicles on lot with same issue. Seems like a safety issue when driving at night down country roads

Driving down a steep icy hill all warning lights illuminated and power steering completely failed. This is the second time for this specific failure. The vehicle is extremely hard to control without power steering and could have easily caused an acident. The vehicle was repaired at a local dealership both times.

While driving on the highway, there was a massive electrical system failure, resulting in the power steering, air bag, lane management, emergency braking, and other systems failing immediately and without warning. Vehicle was almost impossible to operate, but an accident was avoided. These failures not only put the vehicle's occupants at risk (no air bags), but also other motorists with the sudden loss of power steering. Cursory research shows this is a somewhat common issue. The vehicle is being towed to the dealership to be inspected, but due to the safety issues this warrants a report.

Vehicle is making a knocking noise when in drive and fully stopped. This occurs after drive the vehicle for about 10 miles, once the engine warms up. I've been told that it was a purge selenoid and it's normal. Was also told it was an EGR Valve and also advised that it was the air suspension. Meanwhile they have a open star case stating it's the motor mounts. 100s of people are having the same issue on the facebook group I'm in, as well as forums and no one is getting anywhere. Also my radio system is making a hissing noise and the android auto connection is not stable and doesn't stay connected. They currently have no fix for this. My steering wheel is slightly off to the right to go straight. They stated the alignment is good and that it does that because incase the driver falls asleep, it would drive them off the road instead of into oncoming traffic. That's sounds extremely bogus and very dangerous.

This is my second attempt to get someone to reach out. I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L with approximately 3100 miles. This vehicle has been in the repair shop a minimum of 10 times. Power steering goes out at times while driving. This vehicle falls into the Lemon Law. I have been unable to reach anyone at Jeep Headquarters to assist with resolving this buy back. No one has returned my calls. This is a very serious safety concern

Second incident in less than 2 months on Grand Cherokee L that has 2K miles. Vehicle experienced limp mode when stabilizer system malfunctioned when going 45mph. Began to stall and lost acceleration. Gas pedal was unresponsive. Second incident (~500 miles later) Power Steering Failure. Could not get vehicle out of garage. Luckily this malfunction did not occur on the highway. Was able to get it to dealer the next day and they fixed with software updates for only the effected power steering module. What other updates are needed and what happens if the braking system is next? I have lost all faith in Jeep’s ability to design a safe and reliable vehicle for my wife and 2 kids. My wife has anxiety driving her own car as well. The roll out of the L and Grand Wagoneer may be coming with potentially fatal flaws.

Last night, my BRAND NEW car (Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited) tried to kill me. Driving down 1187 going 40 miles an hour, it came to a DEAD STOP, put itself in park and would not crank or start back up. All I could hear in the panic was screeching tires from cars trying not to hit me. The seatbelt also did not stop me and I was thrown into the steering wheel. My car has less than 900 miles on it. After a panic attack of EPIC proportions and a sleepless night, I immediately drove it to the dealership today and of course they can find NOTHING wrong with it. They are going to keep it a few days to double check a few things, but to say I will no longer be able to drive this car without SEVERE anxiety is an understatement. It has less than 1000 miles on it and I haven't even made my first payment. Trading it in, I will automatically lose $3100. If I don't trade it in, I don't think I would ever be able to get over the anxiety of driving it. Talk about a lose/lose situation. All I could think about is if I had been going faster and there had been more traffic, I could have KILLED someone including myself. Thank you to the kind salesman who, when I pulled up this morning, said "I love your car" and I proceeded to break down crying and hand him the keys and say you can keep it. He was so helpful in calming me and getting it checked out right away. I've owned it 21 days exactly. Honestly I am not sure I want to take the chance of it happening again.

The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the messages "No Seat Belt", "Service Air Bags", "Service Seat Belts" and "Auto Park Disabled" were displayed. The contact stated that the failure had occurred with the driver and the front passenger's side seat occupant wearing their seat belts. Additionally, the brake and the check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) had failed, and the loss of communication with the ORC had caused the electrical failures. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V873000 (Air Bags), but the dealer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ESC and “Service 4WD” warning lights illuminated, causing the vehicle to shake abnormally. Additionally, the transmission unexpectedly shifted to 4WD Low while driving. The steering wheel vibrated while making a turn, and the vehicle jerked. The vehicle also intermittently failed to start immediately and made a clicking sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the ABS had failed, and that the drive train control module and transfer case control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

Was pulling into a parking spot on the 2nd level of parking garage and the Jeep accelerated and hit the cement wall at front of garage space. It accelerated on its own. The front of the jeep was crushed, and I ended up with a fractured sternum and a seat belt hernia which I will have surgery in the next couple of weeks. The airbags did not deploy. And I did not press on the gas pulling into the parking spot --- it just accelerated on its own. When I first got in the car the system showed that systems disabled, but the then the message went away. When I pressed seat one, it did not go in place and I had to adjust it on my own. I continued on to my dermitologist appointment , pulled into the the parking space and the instant brake when too close did not break and the air bags did not deploy. Thru me into the cement wall, and the whole front of the car was demolished, Not epairable.

With further inspection he found a leak in the air bag fittings. Vehicle Power Control Module has caused vehicle to shutoff while driving on the highway. The fire started in the front and moved to the back of the vehicle. The engine had been off for about 2 hours and vehicle was sitting in the driveway. My son's car seat, stroller and many other belongings were ruined in the fire. A police report was not filed, but a fire report was.

[XXX] just south of Grapevine, CA, is a 4-lane freeway, speed limit 70 mph. It is quite steep, perhaps 4 or 5 %. It is very heavily traveled, and is used by a large number of 18-wheelers. It has a slow lane on the far right, for trucks and cars pulling trailers. I was in the #1 lane, traveling at 70 mph. About 5 miles south of Grapevine, CA, the car completely lost control of the steering. I came within inches of impacting the guard rail, and hitting a large tractor-trailer. By braking gently, and making greatly exaggerated steering inputs, I was able to maneuver to the slow lane, and, driving at less than 15 mph, was able to get to a truck stop parking lot, where the car was towed to a Jeep dealer. This is the third catastrophic safety failure this car has suffered. The first was explosion of the front transfer case, scattering transmission parts all over the road, the second was the failure of the left front axle boot. which spread grease onto the brake disc. Fortunately, both of these problems occurred at very low speed, so accidents were avoided. This last failure almost killed me, my wife, and my little dog. While driving on the highway Friday [XXX] in the middle lane the whole vehicle just shut down and locked up. Speed roughly about 20-30 mph in rush-hour traffic. No warning lights at all. Full tank of gas. Zero power to anything. Wheels locked up completely. Shifter nonresponsive to try Neutral. No hazard lights. No brake lights. No way of giving other vehicles a warning. Could not open doors or windows. 911 was called to the scene and I was very thankful not to have been seriously injured or lose my life during this whole situation. I was transferred into the fire truck as to get out of traffic. Fire department had to google where to find locking mechanism for the wheels in order to push it over to the right lane. I have a police case number on hand. Vehicle had to be towed to a body shop. The vehicle was sent into service TWICE before for electrical/battery issues in March & April of 2024. In 2022 I attempted to back into a parallel parking space and the emergency braking system kept activating to prevent backing up. Attempted getting corrected at dealer but no trouble codes available. Was driving, slowing down to stop at about 22mph, emergency braking system kicked in, shifted into auto stick, switched back reactivated normal drive. Six months later, was at a stop sign, on green light, turned left from left lane, accelerating to approximately 25mph, suddenly emergency braking activated again, again had to use auto stick to kick out of emergency braking. My vehicle has 22,000 miles on it. The dealer has determined that they are at 4/32 and are wearing prematurely. He also indicated that Jeep (Nielsen Jeep) is aware of this and it is simply unfortunate that all four (4) tires (Michelin Premier LTX, 265/60R18) on my vehicle wore evenly and prematurely. As I indicated to the dealership servicing my vehicle, the tires do not grip in inclement weather and often result in skids, a safety issue especially when my two 12yr olds are in the vehicle with me. Tire warranted at 55,000 miles should not wear prematurely and thus making it unsafe to operate the vehicle.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee L (long model with 3rd row seating) has a panoramic sunroof. Today while driving on the highway, the panoramic sunroof exploded right in the center of each section. It has two sections which overlap when fully open. There were no warning signs, lamps, or cracks prior to this. The glass shattered and flew behind us and all over the inner sunshade. It was extremely scary and dangerous! My son was in the back seat and would’ve been hit with broken glass had the sunshade been open. I haven’t filed any claims with Jeep or my insurance co yet. Please help!

I started driving through an intersection after sitting, stopped at a traffic light. I stepped on the gas pedal and the car wouldn’t move. The engine mounts on the right side of the motor are defective. It was discovered after I brought the car in for a drum-like noise coming from the engine. The vehicle is less than a year old and has less than 10,000 miles on it. Dealership indicated this has been a recurring problem in some of the new model Grand Cherokee vehicles and the manufacturer is aware of it. They indicated a recall has not been issued as they believe there isn’t a safety concern.They have ordered new engine mounts for vehicle, but they don’t have an ETA on when parts will arrive. They refused my request for a courtesy rental or loaner car. They indicated car was safe to drive. However, I disagree and expressed my concerns to the dealer. They said I would have to call “corporate”.

Backstory: This vehicle has had electrical issues since the day after signing the lease. The second day of driving the vehicle would not start and flashed all the sorts of engine failures. The dealership could not find anything wrong with it after two weeks and deemed it "repaired." Then, 2 days later the vehicle would not start again and flashed all sorts of of engine and system failures. After 4 months of going through FCA's process for the Lemon Law buyback, FCA presented a buyout offer that was inadequate and contained numerous release clauses we were not comfortable agreeing to. We choose to seek Mass Lemon Law State Arbitration as our right to ensure we achieved a fair outcome. FCA pulled our replacement vehicle and in essence forced us to drive to take back and drive the vehicle after it was again "repaired" this time by replacing a battery. The dealership that repaired the vehicle drove it for a week before we were comfortable taking it back. Incident: A month later, while driving the vehicle on a busy main road (at approx. 15 MPH), the vehicle started to alert that various systems were disable and the transmission started to shift violently and the engine reved. The ABS, airbags, lane departure, powering steering, and other systems said they were disabled and that the transmission was disabled. Fortunately, there was a parking lot on the right, I was able to turn into the lot, and attempt to find a safe place to stop. The parking lot was busy and before I was able to pull into a parking space, the car shut off and would not turn on. The hazard lights would not function, and the vehicle was blocking traffic and multiple parked cars. The car would occasionally start and stay on for 10 to 30 seconds at a time, but either the parking brake was locked or the transmission shifted violently as I pressed the gas pedal. After 20 minutes, I managed to limp the car to a safe spot and await a tow. The vehicle is at the dealership. There is also video.

Power Steering goes out again get back 1 day and Power steering goes out as I am driving. Back to the Dealership. 3 x power steering goes out. Now says a repair has been done. This week transmission and interior lights possibly going out. Car purchased new November 4, 2021 has less than 3000 miles on it. Has been in the repair shop approximately 3 months of the 4 months its been owned. This car actually scares me to drive it because I never know what's going to happen.

ON APPROX 12/13/21 THE VECHICLE'S RADIO FROZE AND I WAS UNABLE TO USE IT FOR SEVERAL DAYS. A MESSAGE PROMPTED ME TO CALL SIRIUS XM RADIO, HOWEVER THEY STATED IT WAS A VECHICLE ISSUE AND NOT A SATELITE RADIO ISSUE. I LOOKED UP ONLINE AND FOUND HOW TO HARD RESET RADIO AND I HAVE TO DO THAT OCCASIONALLY TO CLEAR THE UNRESPONSIVE RADIO. THE MOST RECENT ISSUE WAS A COMPLETE TRASMISSION FAILURE ON 2/1/22. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MOVE VECHICLE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO FORWARD PAST THE 1ST GEAR AND WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE NEARLY CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT. DEALER IS NOT PRIVY TO THIS ISSUE AND DOES NOT HAVE AN ETA FOR REPAIR. JEEP CORPRATE HAS BEEN CONTACTED WITH NO RESOLUTION. I purchased this car on 1/12/2022. It immediately began to have issues, first a coolant leak and then a check engine light. I have been told the check engine light is related to RFH codes for passive entry and Chrysler cannot provide a a date for the software update . I am forced to forced to drive a brand new vehicle with a check engine light on, not knowing if it’s safe. I feel this is unacceptable, I see many stories of the same vehicle just shutting down while driving.

The automatic braking system/parking collision system on our vehicle regularly causes it to slam on the brakes when the vehicle is in reverse, despite there not being any objects anywhere close to the vehicle. We have had this occur when we are trying to get out of oncoming traffic into a parking space, move out of the way of oncoming traffic into a driveway or parking garage, and when trying to back the car out of oncoming traffic to avoid a collision. This problem has been inspected by, and reproduced by, the dealer (Dishman Jeep in Spokane, WA). No other individuals have inspected the components causing this issue. There were no other warnings or symptoms of the problem before they appeared--just the slamming on of the brakes in reverse accompanied by a loud noise and message on the dash about potential collision, despite there being no objects or people anywhere close by.

-The new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L-Limited was made to be a third, row off-road, all weather driven vehicle. #1: The front windshield is flush with the front pillars. This causes accumulated snow or off-road dirt to easily be pushed to the driver side window (with no way to wash off) and blocking the driver’s side mirror. This makes it impossible to to use the blind spot light on the side mirror. In my case, I had audio alarm turned off as not to wake the kids while driving across the country. So I had a couple of near misses until I was able to stop, clean the driver’s window and turn the blind spot alarm back on. This is not a big deal if driving in clear rain, just not off-road or snow. It’s available for inspection whenever needed. -Our safety was placed at risk by creating a blind spot, making my driver’s side mirror and sensor obsolete. This created me nearly striking the cars beside me. -I just returned from the dealership(Puyallup-Larsen Jeep)an hour ago and the staff admitted it was a flaw. They actually recommend I go buy some aftermarket window lip, that does not exist. It was disgraceful to say the least for them to admit a flaw and suggest I fix it on my own, after having my car for 8 hours and it having 3500 miles on it. -No warning lights other than the blind spot sensors activating that I could be sure was activated or not. #2: The third row seat over heated the phone charging cord, causing light cabin smoke and burning a slight hole in the gym bag. My 7 y/o twins were woken up and advised me she think she smelled smoke. I figured it was nothing, it a brand new vehicle. She said “something is burning Dad”. I turned the cabin light on as my 14 y/o said she now smelled something in the second row. I saw a light fog and immediately pulled over, ran to the back and yanked out the cord out of the car. The cord was overheated to my touch. The cord had burned the plastic bag the Happy Meal toy was inside. Available for inspection whenever.

VEHICLE LOCKS ARE NOT WORKING SAFELY. When locking doors on the vehicle the doors are easily opened when you pull the handle while sitting in the vehicle. All doors will open which is very dangerous especially since my grandkids sit in the back and can open the doors while the vehicle is in motion. I have a video showing the doors locked and i am able to open the doors when the vehicle is driving down the road.

The car lost communication with the Body Control Module causing multiple features to malfunction, including power steering, while we were on the road. It's a 2021 vehicle that we leased only 29 days prior to the incident. Yes, with multiple important features malfunctioning at once, we were at risk. Fortunately, we were not on a highway or driving in inclement weather or this would have been even more dangerous. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer after the incident. There were no prior warning signs and the problems came about rapidly.

Vehicle was purchased last month. Grand Cherokee L Altitude. Has <1,400 miles. Check engine light came on. Warning for Electronic stabilizer system. Lost acceleration. Vehicle stalled once coming to a stop. And then once I turned it back on and tried to drive, the vehicle would not accelerate over 25mph. Reset then car drove fine. But then incident occurred again. Glitchy software or modules. This should not occur in a BRAND NEW vehicle. Unsafe.

Ongoing software issues. The gauge cluster screen continues to glitch. Turning bright green or red/green vertical lines. RPM and MPH are still visibility but you lose all other functionality. Navigation on gauge cluster screen will get stuck in a loop, or flat out will not work/load. A few occasions have said the option is not available. Main console screen/system will randomly turn off and restart while driving. Bluetooth won’t hold a steady connection, kicks off randomly. Also, connection will create a clicking noise at times. Only way to stop it is to disconnect the device, turn off the car and reconnect to Bluetooth. Emergency call error notice when turning on vehicle. Approach lights randomly turn on/off when car is parked and keys are no where close to proximity. False warning lights pop up at night, flashing a red dog. Overall software system is very slow and unresponsive. I’ve taken the car into the shop to have them preform the “software recall” two times at separate dealership. Nothing has been fixed. I then allowed the dealership to keep my car for a week to troubleshoot. They claimed the problem had been fixed but I’m still experiencing issues. Took my car to the dealership 2 days after I picked it up, same issues. They were coming up on close and didn’t want to deal with the issue. The next morning the software bugged out again, took it back to the dealership and their “fix” was to factory reset the vehicle. I’ve been to the dealership a total of 4 times for this issue with no resolution. Jeep is unresponsive and does not care to fix the issues.

I STOPPED ON A SLIGHT FORWARD FACING HILL, PUT THE CAR INTO P FOR PARK SO IT WAS STATIONARY, AND TURNED IT OFF. I GOT OUT, AND WALKED AROUND THE CAR TO OPEN THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR TO LET MY SON OUT. THEN AFTER ABOUT 1 MINUTE OF BEING PARKED CORRECTLY, THE CAR STARTED ROLLING FORWARD DOWN THE HILL ON ITS OWN (NOTE THAT THE WHEELS WERE TURNING SO THE CAR WAS NOT SLIDING). LUCKILY I GOT MY SON OUT, AND THEN THE CAR STOPPED ON ITS OWN AFTER ABOUT 30 YARDS (UNCLEAR IF IT STOPPED AS THE BRAKES ENGAGED AGAIN OR THE HILL WAS SOT ENOUGH THAT IT STOPPED ON ITS OWN). THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW. ONCE SEEMED LIKE AN ABERRATION, BUT TWICE IS VERY SCARY.
