My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has an active safety recall (#68C – 2020–2025 JL & 2022–2026 WL) related to the battery/electrical system. The dealership informed me that Stellantis does not have a repair or remedy available and does not expect parts until at least April 2026, possibly longer. This means the vehicle cannot be repaired, sold, or traded for over a year. I have been without the car since July 2025, since the last recall B273C-00 – Digital Crash, and now this recall, and have incurred rental costs, insurance, and additional car payments due to loss of use. This is a serious safety concern, and the extended delay is causing significant financial hardship. I am requesting NHTSA review the manufacturer’s delay in providing a remedy for this recall.

I have code B273C-00 digital crash input on my jeep. This is the code dealerships were informed if they see this code the vehicles have to be grounded. At this time, there is no remedy for the grand cherokees. The dealership can't release my jeep back due to safety reasons, and it's been with them for over an month and counting.

After having my 22 Jeep Grand Cherokee at OBX Jeep in NC for over 10 months for electrical and camera issues it was shipped to Brown Daub Jeep in Easton, PA for overdue PA State Inspection due to the length of the repair in NC. Supposedly OBX Jeep said it was repaired but car immediately had electrical issues including FCW OFF dash light. The PA Jeep dealer corrected electrical issues following Jeep Star Publication and it was returned to me July 3, 2025. FCW OFF dash light has come back on on [XXX] and OBX Jeep is indicating I must again leave it with them to further diagnose the issue. The vehicle in September of 2024 after a software update randomly changed the settings. The forward collision off warning light remains on (in settings the forward collision is "on", the language changed to Italian, the paddle shifters stopped working, the units changed, and the grid for the backup camera was turned off). I had it serviced at Jeep. They reset the vehicle which temporarily fixed the issue, however, 3 weeks later it happened again. There is a known MOPAR/star case number S2108000249. This is also reported in Jeep Forum. My safety is at risk due to the failure of the forward collision warning light/software malfunction. I feel that I am at risk for a forward collision. Also the paddle shifters don't work.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the forward warning collision light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that a system reset was needed following an over the air software update. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance instead advising the the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The failure mileage was 41,000.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve which is affected by recalls 78C and 68C. These recalls have no remedy, no timeline, and no clear information from Stellantis. I no longer feel safe driving my daily driver, and the lack of progress has created a serious safety and reliability issue. Stellantis has instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from buildings or other vehicles. This implies a potential fire risk that many owners cannot avoid, especially those who live in shared parking areas, garages, apartments, or townhomes. This should be treated as a major safety hazard. Stellantis has already attempted software updates and even high voltage battery replacements, but these efforts have not resolved the problem. The fact that previous fixes failed suggests a hardware defect involving the battery system or related components. Stellantis has not provided accurate or transparent information, and owners have no path forward. Because Stellantis advises against charging, the hybrid system cannot be used at all. This eliminates the purpose of the vehicle and increases operating costs. I have spent many hours at dealerships with no solution. Stellantis Customer Care has stated that they will not offer support or compensation and directed me to a third party arbitrator. I respectfully request that NHTSA increase oversight of recalls 78C and 68C, investigate whether Stellantis has properly identified the defect, and determine whether the company is meeting federal recall obligations. I also ask NHTSA to consider whether this situation warrants interim owner compensation or potential buy back evaluation due to ongoing safety risks, failed repairs, and the complete loss of hybrid functionality.

Vehicle had complete system shut down while driving. Multiple warning lights came on and vehicle went completely dead. I could have been severely injured or killed if I had been on a highway or if other cars had been behind me.Jeep stated that it was an airbag sensor. Upon picking up from dealership (May 30) warning light came on stating "service vehicle electric hybrid system". Jeep states this is a software issue with no known fix and that engineering has been notified of problem. Since that time the air conditioning stopped working and warning light continues to come on. Vehicle has been left at dealership as not confident in safety of vehicle.

While driving on the highway, I heard a loud POP coming from the roof of my vehicle. I have a panoramic sunroof. I then pulled over and saw that my sunroof had shattered. The car is less than two years old. I did some research and discovered that I was not the first person to whom this happened. I contacted Jeep, and they were no help with it. They stated they were not responsible for anything and did not even care what I had to say.

The front passenger door is unable to be opened from the inside or the outside. The handle from the inside feels like it has no tension, like something snapped inside. Two local mechanics suggested taking to the dealer as this seems like a potential safety issue with no means of egress from the passenger side if needed. Dealer said they have never seen this problem and deem that a fix will be very difficult as they are unable to open the door to remove the interior panel. The only way to access the latch mechanism is to remove the exterior door panel, a major task. Two safety issues- impossible to exit door inside, what if this happens to another door and I am unable to escape my vehicle? Or unable to get my child from inside? And because the mechanism cannot be inspected, is the door safely locked, or will it open while driving? Contacted Chrysler and they are unwilling to cover repair since vehicle is at 39,000 miles and warranty ended at 36,000. Chrysler rep also said never seen this issue before. Should be covered as manufacturing defect and potential major safety issue.

I would like to register a formal complaint for the timing its taking to get the open recall resolved on this vehicle. NHTSA Recall Number24V-720. Due to this issue, I am unable to leverage the hybrid/electric features of my vehicle which is costly me more money in fuel costs. Where I previously filled my tank approximately every 3 months, i now have to do it weekly. I have read online that estimates are taking another 4-5 months before resolution. That is unacceptable solution to an existing problem. This is not a great experience for a first time hybrid buyer who is trying to adopt the new technology. When I purchased my vehicle, i influenced two friends to also purchase one. I would have not made this recommendation had I known open recall issues will not be resolved in a timely manner. Lastly, now i have the concern of parking the vehicle in my garage which could result in losing my entire household and its contents. This is unreal to me.

After dealer installed recall 24V-720 on 1/15/2025, I started seeing Red Wrench light and warning to Service Hybrid System a few times each month. The warnings only flashed for a few seconds and disappeared - no service engine light. Also, the vehicle failed to charge about half the time. In early May, I was driving (in hybrid mode) about 45 miles per hour, and the Red Wrench light and warning to Service Hybrid System flashed and disappeared. The car would NOT accelerate! I DRIFTED to a safe spot, turned off the car, and restarted and now could accelerate. I was lucky! I brought the vehicle to Jeep on May 19, 2025. It was there for about 10 days and they found nothing - not able to reproduce and no errors logged, etc. They created a STAR Case (#1020705742) and still no solution. This is exactly recall 25V-576. The vehicle always charges now even though Jeep says they only cleared other errors. I brought the vehicle to Jeep on September 10 and they didn't see any saved errors. NO updates to STAR Case. I continue to see the Red Wrench light and warning to Service Hybrid System every week or so. But, have only lost power once. I'm afraid to drive the vehicle - always looking for a place to safely stop. How can a vehicle lose power and not log a Service Engine error! I need a FIX! I looked at selling the vehicle but it has lost a lot of value likely due to all the recalls. I believe the battery has issues and should be replaced. Recall 24V-720 only installed software to watch the battery. However, nothing is ever logged.

We opened a warranty service case #92312434 yesterdday because case #91655707 was closed prematurely while our vehicle is still in disrepair. Our 2022 Grand Cherokee has been to Lithia Jeep of Reno for warranty service on seven occasions since October 29th, spanning 89 days, for a vibration issue which remains unresolved as of today. The manufacturer is in material breach of 49 U.S. Code § 30120 and refuses to offer a replacement or repurchase despite prima facie evidence of failure to repair within a reasonable time (defined as 60 days).

For our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe: Vehicle failed to accelerate. The engine would kind of rev but no forward motion. This occurred after driving approximately 2 miles from my house. i had just made a right turn at a busy intersection and driven approximately 100 yards when the car would not accelerate. This occurred on a very busy street. Luckily, I was able to coast to the side of the road. After shutting the car off and starting it again, it was able to again accelerate. This was scary as my wife and daughter were in the car. It has not yet been reproduced by a dealer. There were no warning lights or messages. This seems familiar to a recall that is issued for same year Jeep Wrangler 4Xe models.

I am writing because I am beyond frustrated with the treatment I’ve received from Gwinnett Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (5054 U.S. 78, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 ). I have been a long‑time Jeep customer, and I cannot believe everything that has been going on. This situation has become untenable, and I demand a resolution immediately. Back in May, I brought my Jeep in to have a hybrid electrical vehicle system issue addressed, and I paid for that service in full. In July, the same warning light came back on. When I returned the vehicle to the dealership, they first tried to shift blame—saying perhaps the previous service provider messed something up. Then they told me my engine needed to be replaced. When I reminded them that they were the last ones to work on the car, the tone changed. My vehicle is only a little over two years old—how is an engine replacement justified? They quoted me $14,000 to make this repair. I contacted Jeep Customer Care. Their inspection quoted $18,000, but with warranty coverage I was told I would owe $5,500. Even then, they tried to force me to take out a loan. Reluctantly, I paid the $5,500, as I rely on my vehicle for work and to transport my daughter to and from school. I was required to pay $4,000 upfront before any work would begin, and the engine was ordered. Over a month passed, with several promised completion dates (August 27, 28, 29) that came and went without completion. I flew in on August 29 expecting to pick up my vehicle, only to be told it was not ready because the new engine had been mistakenly sent back instead of the old one. This error is incomprehensible and has severely damaged my trust in the dealership. As of September, I was informed that my Jeep would be completed by September 9. That deadline has passed, and my vehicle remains unfinished. I have incurred additional expenses for flights and Uber/Lyft rides due to the dealership's missed deadlines and miscommunication. Not once was I offered a loaner vehicle, nor did

The contact stated that the RPM's increased and the vehicle stalled. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the road where the vehicle was turned off and restarted and the vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,095.

Vehicle has a knocking noise coming from around the engine. There has been a TSB posted regarding the issue described as, "Customer may describe a low frequency vibration noise heard during engine mount actuation while at idle in gear". This is a frequent issue among dealers around my area that are having to replace vehicles outside of the warrant window. Engine mounts in most vehicles last at least 5-6 years before having to be replaced. This is causing a huge distraction with the noise that is a result.

Incident Date: [XXX] Vehicle: 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe | VIN [XXX] | Mileage = 28,853 While driving 20 mph on a paved suburban road in Danville, CA, the driver-side rear lower control arm suddenly fractured without warning. The wheel shifted, and I was barely able to stop safely. Had this occurred at highway speeds, a loss of control—and possible crash—was likely. The Jeep was towed to the selling dealer. After inspection, the service department blamed “witness marks” (small surface nicks) and told me to file an insurance claim, stating it was not a warranty issue. The vehicle has never been in a collision and is driven only on paved roads. A routine dealer service in Dec 2024 reported no suspension concerns. Photos attached show: Clean break of the control arm; Minor nicks cited as impact evidence; Street on which the vehicle was being driven when the control arm failed; The Jeep is marketed as off-road capable. A control arm that fails on a county road represents a serious safety defect for all owners. I request NHTSA investigation and manufacturer action. I took the vehicle in to have the dealer implement the fix for safety recall. 24V-720 (manufacturer #95b). The steps documented in the NHTSA Saftey bulletin were not followed. They omitted the charging requirements and skipped the drive cycle test as required in the safety recall instructions. I do not feel this recall was completed accurately and could put me at risk of fire if I attempt to charge the vehicle. The dealer just says they completed the recall. Mileage on the vehicle only incremented 1 mile from drop off to pick up and the battery was not charged for per the recall, making it impossible to perform the required steps of the recall.

While driving my car on the interstate and main highways, it started wobbling back and forth worsening as it was driven further. The main body of the car began swaying left to right while still driving in a straight line. As we noticed it, luckily there was a Jeep dealership at the next exit on the interstate, so we took it straight to them and the senior mechanic stated he had "never seen anything like it" how there were multiple breaks in the metal connecting the passenger side rear knuckle joints without a known impact to the site of damage on the car, he stated "something like that should have never broken by itself without you hitting something". Nothing was or has ever been hit in this car, this piece of equipment failed on its own and put several people's life in danger, the wheel could have very well come off and caused a crash at interstate speeds of up to 75mph (the local speed limit) and surely would have caused multiple fatalities as there were multiple passengers. The vehicle has been inspected by the team at Blue Ribbon Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and is being repaired there, and the available broken parts will be returned to me when the repairs are completed as evidence. There were no notices or warnings from the system alerting us of any issue with the suspension or any other malfunction in the car. This is a very dangerous issue if there are multiple other cars that have had this issue.

On [XXX], on [XXX] Express Lanes (XXX) at approximately 55mph, I drove over an uneven portion of the highway being maintained/bumpy (far left lane). My vehicle intermittently pulled to the left while I attempted to steer right. I believed the problem to be associated with my steering/wheel components. After contacting the Farrish Jeep Dealer, 9610 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031, I was told a recall (XXX) related to an upper control arm pinch bolt being likely why my steering might be affected. An appointment was scheduled for [XXX]. The issue happened intermittently but inconsistently up to the appointment date. During the [XXX], the Farrish dealer indicated the issue could not be duplicated. And I was required to pick up the Jeep. I subsequently called FCA USA, LLC (1 (800) 334-9200) indicating my concern driving the vehicle with intermittent issues that could result in a crash. I also requested to maintain the Loaner car that was issued during my service with Farrish Jeep; but no response/action was issued or received due to a required management call. It is March 10th, and I have not received the call. The vehicle is not safe to drive based on my recent experience and is available for inspection. And if there is any small chance that the current recall is affected by uneven terrain or bumps at high speeds; then I it can be catastrophic for my and my child’s health. Thus, I humbly request to return this vehicle with a full return toward another purchase that is safe for my family and I. On September 4, 2025, Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) filed Recall 25V576 covering 91,787 Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEVs (2022–2026) for the exact defect I reported: a software error in the Hybrid Control Processor that may cause a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. This defect was documented in my case as DTC B273C-00. My dealership confirmed the code on multiple service visits (February 25, 2025 and May 21, 2025), and the arbitrator in Case #[XXX] also confirmed the defect in his July 7, 2025 decision. Despite this, FCA repeatedly denied any safety concern, asserting my vehicle was “safe to operate.” The recall proves that: •The defect is real and poses a safety risk. •FCA was aware of the defect months before acknowledging it publicly. •FCA misled me, the Illinois Attorney General’s office, and arbitration proceedings by denying the existence of a safety issue. For the record, I experienced loss of propulsion while driving with my children, which created a dangerous situation. I ask that my complaint remain open and that NHTSA investigate FCA’s delay and misrepresentations in disclosing this safety defect. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On May 4th, 2025, at approximately 10:50am I was traveling at approximately 65mph on a 6 lane highway when the vehicle lost all all propulsion. Following sequence of events took place on car: - Dashboard warning to service hybrid system flashed - Dashboard message to depress break and push button to start car. - Car lost power. Could not accelerate. Display and radio still worked. - Coasted across 2 lanes of traffic to side of the highway. - Car went into Park and Emergency brake engaged without my action. - Pushed start button and car started. On a busy highway, the vehicle would not accelerate resulting putting both my life and the lives of others on that highway at risk. I am now afraid to drive the vehicle. Vehicle has ALL service notice recalls completed. Vehicle taken to Jeep dealer for service. At dealer for 48 hours now. Dealer does not know how to fix vehicle. Dealer stated they have 4 other vehicles with the same exact problem. Dealer stated Jeep does not have a fix. No ETA for fixed car given.

Event occurred within 2 days and 50 miles of recall 95B service being performed on 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe showing passing results. After startup of the vehicle and being placed into 'electric' only drive mode and DRIVE engaged, the vehicle traveled down the driveway approximately 10 feet when the vehicle juddered, the driver display showed an error message "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System", a red wrench icon appeared in the dashboard/instrument cluster, and the vehicle automatically switch into 'hybrid' drive mode and started the gasoline motor. The vehicle was turned off, then restarted. Upon restart the error message was not visible and the red wrench icon was gone. Vehicle was then able to be operated in full electric drive mode. My safety was at risk because if the sudden juddering and loss of power occurred at speed on the general roadway instead of in my driveway I could have lost control of the vehicle and crashed. I do not know if this has been reproduced by the dealership but I have heard anecdotally about other 4xe drivers having this same issue immediately after the 95B recall service was performed. The vehicle is scheduled for inspection with a Jeep dealership on 1/21/25

Was driving 40 MPH when suddenly the vehicles dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. The vehicle would not allow me to go more than about 20MPH. Luckily the person behind me stopped before rear ending me. This is the second time this has happened now. I am afraid to even drive this vehicle now, as I’m afraid it may cause an accident. I contacted Jeep about this, and they didn’t do anything about it and said there was no recall related to loss of motive power. If this happened in a highway, this would have been a disaster.

The car will cut off and loose power due to the battery issue It has been in the shop 5 or 6 times for this issue and some of the stays were over 30 days at a time They said they have no fix for the repair needed not to drive it but no one can make payments on a car and not drive it for months waiting on a repair. They refused to buy the car back or replace it with a new one.

On September 10th, 2025, at approximately 7:45am, I was driving my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe at 57 mph on the freeway during heavy traffic. The “Service Hybrid Electrical System” warning appeared, and the vehicle immediately stalled and forced itself into emergency park while in motion. This sudden failure created a severe safety hazard for myself and surrounding drivers. I experienced an anxiety attack from the incident and had to call my husband for help. This is not the first time the vehicle has stalled, but it is the most dangerous occurrence to date. This vehicle is unsafe and poses a life-threatening risk on public roads.

Last week I was driving 70MPH on the highway when suddenly I got the red wrench icon with the message "Service Hybrid Electrical System" on the dashboard. After about 7 seconds I then got a "Put foot on brake and press start" message on the screen - while still going 70MPH on the highway. At that point the car died. I had no power - the accelerator pedal did nothing. Luckily, I was able to pull over to the shoulder and stop. Then I did what it said and pressed the brake + start button. The car came back to life, but I didn't have the full hybrid system - I only had gas - the car was not using any electrical power as the battery level remained constant and did not drop as I drove. I continued for another 20 minutes where I stopped for lunch. When I returned to the car it started up normally and continued to run normally after that. This is the 3rd of 4th time the red wrench icon with the Service Hybrid system warning coming up, but on the previous times the message went away after about 5 seconds and the car drove normally. This is the only time that it caused the car to completely die on my while on the highway. Apparently, this has been happening to a *lot* of people after Jeep issued a software update to address the 95b recall last year. Many owners are now afraid to drive their Jeep 4xe for fear of it suddenly dying on the highway at high speeds.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? When driving down a busy road, the car completely stalled with loss of power steering, unable to accelerate or brake, power completely lost in car with all safety lights illuminated on the dashboard. Eventually brakes returned, able to stop car. Unable to restart and loss of power for windows. After several attempts, restarted car with warning lights still present- moved to side of Road. Currently at dealer for inspection- stated that problem was "digital crash input code failure" and that there is not a fix for this at this time. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Car stalled with complete loss of control in the middle of traffic, while accelerating at approximately 15-25 mph. This could have caused an accident, but luckily did not. However, car was stalled in traffic for about 30 mins and unable to move car at all- blocking traffic on busy street. If happened on highway, could have been much worse and also had the potential to cause an accident. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The problem was confirmed by dealer, and said that there is "no fix". According to them, all recalls have been fixed in this vehicle prior to incident and should have fixed this problem by replacing the battery. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Vehicle has been inspected by both dealership service and Chrysler/ Stellantis engineers. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There was 1 warning light message about "EV system hybrid control" needs service, but disappeared after 30 seconds and this appeared about 1 week prior to incident.

While the vehicle is in operation, and without warning, it loses all motive power and coasts to a stop. A warning message is displayed on dash: “Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System.” The vehicle must be turned off then back on before motive power is restored. This is an extreme safety issue, if it were to occur at highway speeds amidst traffic, the likelihood of serious accident is high. Jeep dealer service says this is a known issue with many Jeep 4xe vehicles right now and no fix is known. This event has reoccurred more than 4 times. The most recent was 5/9/25.

I bought this Jeep new in 2023 and it started making this noise when it had 7000 miles on it. If was normal operational noise, why didn't it have it when it was new? Many owners on Jeep forums (JeepGarage, WLJeepForum, JeepForum, WranglerForum) report: Rattle starts light and worsens with heat soak. The company often states it is a “normal operational noise. ”Some report replacement of the entire sway bar disconnect actuator assembly under warranty resolving the noise temporarily or permanently but there is no standardized procedure. After an hour drive, the loud banging noise is huge distraction while driving. I have driven for many years and have never heard anything such as this rattle trap, especially for upward of $80,000, while fearing that it may leave the road at anytime. Purchased used 22 GC summit reserve V8 and within hours of leaving dealer I knew something was very wrong with the front suspension. Fast forward to used car dealership pointing fingers at Jeep for not fixing issues not disclosed to me before the sale and Jeep claiming shady dealer practices we now know it’s the Rack and Pinion bar and components. 7 grand out of pocket after a day of ownership is not happening. My vin is one of few not showing up for the recall Z18/NHTSA 22V-154. It’s a perfect description of the recall and my jeep is the correct year make and model. The Jeep is at dealer currently and the price keeps changing which tells me someone isn’t telling the truth and they’re covering something else up. I just want this resolved as I paid mostly cash for this truck and haven’t gotten to drive it for more than a couple hours to the dealership.

The front suspension rattles and clunks constantly as if there is loose linkage or ball joints going bad. It is happening at every speed and is worse when it is hot outside. I am concerned that something is loose and will result in a loss of control. The dealer has been unable to find the source of the loud clunking noise but says everything looks ok.

How many recalls does one vehicle get in 2 years of ownership get before they take car back? This is the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned at $64,100 price tag. We went through this battery recall last year at this time and could not use hybrid system for 5 months and had to park outside until recall was performed and god forbid you take grandkids anywhere in it, and with all the countless other problems that are so speratic they cannot fix.Recall number 95B, when weather was finally warm enough for them to perform the diagnostics on it, it was deemed okay. Now I get another recall for same thing and once again it is a fire hazard again and no fix is available according to recall info. So people are suppose to drive around in a $64,100 vehicle that could go on fire and cannot park in garage or use hybrid system for its intended use. Tonight s weather is suppose to be -10 degrees F in Iowa and we keep having problems with the heater blowing cold air and have taken it to dealership for total of 10 days trying to figure this problem out with no resolve yet. When does someone finally say is enough is enough? They have had my Jeep in their dealership 34 days total not counting recalls trying to resolve why the power steering goes out and all safety devices are offline and nnobody can resolve these issues so it is a total crap shoot every time you start it up! The fire hazard thing really bothers me being a past fireman and nobody seems to care, just park your car away from flammable material and structure, are you kidding me! What happens when you have kids and grandkids in this car? Somebody ha to help us! Internet is flooded with these problems with Jeep 4XE. Please help us out of this situation because Stellantis and dealerships do not care! This vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 68C for battery fire risk. The manufacturer issued a directive to park outside away from structures and do not charge the vehicle due to extreme fire risk. Despite having an open case with Jeep, there have been three failed supervisor callbacks with no resolution provided. The remedy is not yet available. The owner refuses to drive this vehicle and refuses to allow his wife to drive it due to serious safety concerns. If the car catches fire while she is driving, there is fear she will not have enough time to protect herself. This is an extremely scary and dangerous situation for the family. Additionally, the owner fears the house could catch fire while sleeping because of this vehicle parked nearby, even following the manufacturer's parking directive. This recall creates an impossible hardship - the vehicle cannot be safely driven or charged, yet no buyback or replacement has been offered. The vehicle was recently purchased in December 2024 and now sits unusable at 39,000 miles due to this unresolved safety defect. The manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy despite multiple contact attempts. A full vehicle buyback or replacement with a non-affected model is the only acceptable resolution to this extreme safety risk.

While driving 65-70mph on the Interstate, my car seemed to have lost power. When I looked at the dash, a red wrench was displayed with a message to have the hybrid electrical system serviced. I pressed down on the accelerator, nothing happened. I immediately started to move into the right lanes since traffic was moving fast. I didn’t want to get hit or cause an accident. By the time I coasted into the far right lane my car seemed to have recovered and reacted appropriately when I pressed on the accelerator. Since this incident, the red wrench and message have flashed on my dashboard at least five more times, but thank goodness I haven’t lost power again. I am taking it into the dealer for inspection. It has not been inspected by anyone yet, but I am afraid to drive it.

The vehicle experienced repeated propulsion loss and powertrain malfunction while driving, creating a serious safety risk. This defect has now been formally acknowledged by FCA/Stellantis through NHTSA Recall 25V576 (filed on September 4, 2025). Prior to the recall, I raised these safety concerns through the NCDS arbitration program, but my case was closed despite documentation of the defect. The arbitration program stated the matter was “resolved,” even though I had rejected the arbitrator’s decision and the case was procedurally closed without binding resolution. After the recall was issued, I requested that my case be reopened under NCDS Rule 20, which allows refiling when new or material evidence is presented. That request was denied, leaving me without a remedy despite the existence of an active recall for the exact defect I had reported. The safety issue remains ongoing. The vehicle has lost propulsion multiple times while in motion, creating risk of collision. Warning messages have appeared on the dashboard prior to failure, and the issue has been reproduced at service centers. This matter highlights both the safety hazard of the defect itself and a procedural concern: consumers may be denied meaningful remedies even after safety recalls are issued.

I am filing a complaint regarding repeated and dangerous safety failures with my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe, which I purchased as a brand-new vehicle on February 22, 2025. The most critical issue is that the vehicle has shut off on two separate occasions—once while in motion driving up a hill and once during a suspension height adjustment while stopped. In both cases, the engine powered down unexpectedly, a red wrench and lightning bolt warning appeared, and the vehicle shifted into park on its own. I was unable to restart the vehicle immediately, creating a severe hazard. These shutdowns were preceded or followed by system warnings including “Electric Mode Unavailable – Service Required,” “Active Driving Assist Unavailable,” “Night Vision Unavailable,” “Traffic Sign Assist Unavailable,” and “Tire Pressure Monitoring Unavailable.” These alerts began appearing within weeks of purchase and have persisted intermittently, sometimes alongside performance issues such as sudden jolts at highway speed. The CDJR dealership in Northern California and various manufacturer (Jeep/Stellantis) technical advisors have inspected the vehicle multiple times. A software defect has been identified and confirmed by Jeep, but no fix is available. A Technical Service Bulletin 08-003-25 dated January 8, 2025—before I purchased the vehicle—acknowledges this issue. Despite this, the vehicle was sold to me, and I was sent home with it multiple times even after reporting these failures. The dealership and manufacturer technical advisors now consider the vehicle unsafe to operate and will not return it until a software update is released. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. Supporting documentation including service records, warning light photos, and communications with Jeep Customer Care and the dealership, can be provided. I urge the agency to investigate this matter due to the confirmed safety risk and lack of timely resolution.

Driving home and car had a sudden loss of power randomly while driving. It would not restart until 5-10 minutes later despite multiple start/stop attempts. On the screen it stated to “plug in to condition battery.” We were in the left lane on a busy road with construction and were almost rear ended multiple times while car was not functional. Have had multiple issues with battery on this 4xe - did recent software update at dealer. I have taken it to dealer previously for battery code (service battery) and they stated they can see code, but unsure of what problem is. No warning lights prior to incident. It sounds like through reviewing on internet this is a common problem with 4xe vehicles and if it hasn’t killed someone yet, it certainly will. We did call 911 for assistance due to the vehicle being disabled in middle of highway, but no official report was made.

While driving on the freeway, the vehicle suddenly lost all power and control. The “Service Hybrid System” warning began flashing, and I experienced a complete powertrain failure. As the vehicle coasted down to under 5 mph, it abruptly slammed into the electronic parking brake and came to a hard stop. This created a serious safety hazard not only for me but for other drivers on the road. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership, where it required a jump-start to regain power. The dealer has been unable to replicate the issue, and no diagnostic trouble codes were found during their scan. Despite this, the failure was severe and unpredictable. There were no warning lights or symptoms prior to the event. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection.

On 12/28/24 we dropped the vehicle off for a check engine light issue + the 95B recall fix. It was discharged on 12/31/24. On 1/9/25 the vehicle lost all power while flashing the red wrech lightning bolt symbol. I had to coast to a stop (I had been exiting the interstate) and had to drive into a pile of recently plowed snow to avoid being rear ended. The vehicle put on the parking brake and the engine had shut off. I turned on the engine after a few moments and it worked fine and I was able to drive it straight to the dealership (2 miles away.) They kept the vehicle for 2 days and could not get the issue to happen again, however they said they re-did the 95B recall and seemed confused about it having been done a few weeks prior. Today on 1/15/25 while driving on the interstate at about 65mph the issue happened again and I had to quickly pull off on the shoulder. The dealership told me to record the issue, but that's impossible while trying to steer it with zero power on the interstate. The same lights flashed (red wrench lightning bolt) and it shut down. Upon restarting it worked as expected. I do not feel safe driving it anymore. The dealership cannot find the issue and I don't want my kids in the vehicle on the off chance I cannot get over, or someone is driving offensivly around me. I am in fear of my life for driving this vehicle so much so that I am considering buying a different car today and letting this one sit until my lease is up. There are no other warning lights at this time on my panel. I will be taking the vehicle back to the service department this afternoon.

I would like to have my leased car returned and get compensated for the months that I have already pre-paid (20 months left).

Yesterday, I had been traveling on the turnpike and was attempting to merge back on from a rest area when the Jeep entered "turtle" or "limp" mode without warning, indicating a failure of the hybrid system. The speed dropped instantly to 2mph and the engine kept revving, generating dark exhaust and a concerning smell (hot, different from regular vehicle exhaust smell). Eventually I was able to move back into the parking area and needed to be towed. I have yet to have it evaluated by a dealership as they are closed today. Following multiple previous hybrid system recalls since purchasing the vehicle Oct 2022, I've experienced numerous malfunctions of the hybrid system (taking it to the dealership multiple times to be evaluated after the "wrench" service hybrid electric system warning showed) over the last 6 months. Each time I've been told a "software reset fixed it" by the dealership. The problems with this hybrid system have been increasing in severity. Currently two recalls are in place due to these hybrid system issues (remedy not available). This was a scary, dangerous experience and I have no confidence in Stellantis resolving this issue.

We've had the red lightening bolt with wrench warning light go off a dozen times since April 2025. 1st time we were setting in traffic after 100+ mile drive down the interstate.i It sounded like the transmission had dropped into part. My wife thought the car behind us had ran into us. I have had it to the dealer many times about this. They tell me the can't duplicate the red warning light going off so there's nothing they can do. I know I'm not the only one. I see post after post on forums about this problem. Hopefully the new recall will take care of the red lightening bolt (Electronic Throttle Control system) warning light.it happening more often since the 1st. It just went off today 9/15/25. Was going slow and didn't loss of power but other times when running down Hwy you definitely notice loss of power.

I leased a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The main failure involves the hybrid electrical system, which repeatedly malfunctions. The most serious issue is that the vehicle will suddenly stall while driving, without warning, leaving me and my children stranded in the middle of traffic. This creates an extreme safety risk, as it has happened in intersections and nearly caused accidents with other vehicles, including a semi-truck. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed multiple times by the dealership. Despite numerous service visits, no permanent fix has been provided. FCA/Stellantis representatives have acknowledged there is not yet a repair for this ongoing defect. The vehicle has also failed to charge on several occasions, displaying “Service Charging System” and “Service Hybrid Electrical System” warnings. I have documentation, work orders, and photos/videos of these repeated issues. The dealer and manufacturer have been unable to repair the vehicle within a reasonable time. Warning messages such as “Service Hybrid Electrical System” first appeared within months of leasing the vehicle, and they continue to reappear unpredictably. Because of these defects, my safety and the safety of my three young children have been placed at significant risk every time the vehicle stalls or refuses to charge.

While driving, the vehicle suddenly shuts down without any prior warning. When this happens, I lose steering and braking capabilities until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The vehicle must then be towed to the service center, where they reset the fault codes in the computer system and return the vehicle to me. There are two recurring diagnostic trouble codes associated with this issue: Digital Crash Input HCP Code The manufacturer and dealership have stated they have no solution for this defect and have advised me to continue driving the vehicle despite the unresolved safety problem. This defect is extremely dangerous — I have been in several situations where I was nearly involved in an accident when the vehicle shut down during motion.

The vehicle will suddenly and without warning lose power while in operation in the middle of traffic. The vehicle will coast to a stop without power, no power steering, no power braking, etc. This is an extreme safety concern. The vehicle losing power in traffic and coming to stop poses serious and great risk to the health and safety of both the occupants and any other vehicles and their occupants on the roadway. This has now occurred multiple times, due to the inability of FCA to repair this defect, my family’s health and safety has been repeatedly endangered and will continue to be endangered with continued use of this vehicle. The most recent occurrence of the vehicle losing power and jeopardizing the life, health, and safety of my family occurred on May 9th, 2025 with the service appointment initiated May 10th, 2025. At this time no further repair attempt has been made by FCA. FCA has finally admitted that this is related to code B273C

On September 17th I was driving approximately 65-70MPH on the freeway when the dashboard flashed the "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warning and icon. My vehicle lost forward momentum and I slowed at a very rapid pace. I pressed on the gas and the vehicle switched over to the gas system, regained power and I was able to drive without further incident that day. I feel like I could have crashed on the highway and gotten injured, or injured someone else! On October 11th I was driving in a restaurant parking lot, approximately 5 miles per hour and starting to idle when the vehicle dashboard flashed the "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warning and icon. This time ,the vehicle shifted itself to park suddenly and I received an alert to press the brake to turn the vehicle off. After several attempts, I was able to turn the car off and back on again. I have an appointment on October 17 for the issue to be looked at by the dealership. This is a 4xe with only 40k miles on it.

Car completely shut off while saying the electrical hybrid system needed to be serviced. Car turned back on and light was off. Check engine light going on and off as well. When going lower speeds the cars rpms rev all the way up, almost to the red, and while your pressing the gas doesn’t move but then jerks and goes forward. Your head slams into the seat and it’s extremely unsafe especially if you are in stop and go traffic. The car has been spitting and sputtering. Brought it to the dealership I just purchased it from, I’ve only made one payment. They stated that Chrysler is aware of the problem but that there is no solution as of right now. Extremely unsafe to drive and do not feel safe with my daughter in the car with the car jerking forward and being delayed with the gas and rpms increasing.

I purchased the vehicle 2/12/2022, a Saturday. On Monday 2/14/2022 I got in the car and it would not start. I pushed the start button and nothing happened. At first I thought my key fob battery was dead but when my wife returned home we had the same issue with hers. We called the dealer and they thought it was a dead battery and sent a tow truck. The tow truck driver and myself tried to jump start the car and nothing happen. We then tried to load the car on to a flat bed but could not because the car automatically engaged the electronic parking break and would not freely move, even in neutral. Two members of the dealer's service department came down the next day and tried to jump the vehicle and also tried to supply external power to the second battery under the passenger seat. This also did nothing. Keep in mind other electronics in the vehicle like the power seat and back lift gate continued to operate. We then had the tow truck return with a different truck which had the ability to put the front wheels on a dolly and tow the vehicle to the garage. When delivered to the dealership they tested it with the same results. Fortunately, they were able to "fix" the problem at the dealership it had appeared to be a loose fuse and we had the vehicle returned the next day. However, today (3/6/2022) I got into the vehicle and it will not respond again, same issue! The key fobs do not respond at all and if you hit the start button nothing happens. I have a wife, an eight year old daughter and twin baby (14 month old) sons. Now what if we are in the car together and this happens? Now luckily both times this has happen it was in my driveway, but I cannot take the car anywhere because I cannot risk the safety of my family taking this vehicle. This was the purpose of buying this vehicle so we could have a family vehicle that would accommodate our family and now it is basically a brick sitting in my driveway. This is the second time this has happened in less than a month.

Driving and engine shut off in the middle of the road. Vehicle indicated “service hybrid system.” Was able to restart vehicle after a few minutes.

While driving in Hybrid mode, the Jeep threw itself into park. I was at the middle of an intersection. I put it back in drive, then it did it again once I started moving. 1. The hybrid mode threw the car into park while moving. 2. This happened to me a few times in a row, but once in the middle of a major intersection. I was lucky there were no cars that crashed into me. 3. I have brought this into Chrysler, Jeep, Doge of Paulding (Georgia) and they have reached out to the engineers at Chrysler. The service department is telling me that Chrysler is telling them there is no fix to this. I put in a ticket with Chrysler as well and they confirmed this. My ticket number is 93581933 4. the vehicle has only been inspected by the service department at the dealership. 5. I did get a hybrid engine maintenance light one time when it went into park. But not each time it did it.

Within days after completing the 95b recall (24v-720) on my Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEV , the vehicle would periodically flash an error message saying ”service hybrid system” or something to that effect. It would illuminate for just a few seconds. On May 21, I took the vehicle back to the dealership (Brigham-Gill, Natick, MA). They read several codes and after conferring with Jeep, said the vehicle is unsafe to drive. It has remained there parked in their backlot as of July 15. The dealership is awaiting guidance from Jeep and informed me they have several others in the same situation. So there were few issues here 1) if I hadn’t returned to the dealership to ask about these brief flashing messages, I would not have known that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. These messages never stayed illuminated for more than a few seconds, and there is no residual “check engine” light. 2) it is incorrect to say that the 95B recall addressed the issue of the failing batteries if it renders the vehicle in operable. 3) the 95B recall patch software was released in January 2025. I find it hard to believe that as of mid July they’ve been unable to find out why it doesn’t work in all the vehicles as intended. This leads me to question the thoroughness of the regression testing before it was released.
Jul 15, 2025
The vehicle has intermittent issues whereby it will flash several icons (a Turtle, lightning bolt) and send a error message about throttling, then completely shut down during operation. This has been ongoing since a few months after I received the vehicle. During shut down, the vehicle's power is completely unresponsive, I cannot use gas power to drive the car, it simply becomes unresponsive and non-operational. These shut downs have occurred while idling at traffic lights, while driving at low speeds on residential roads and, the past 4 experienced shut downs, on the highway. [XXX] ; [XXX] MA, [XXX], and [XXX]). These shut downs have occurred with my 7-year old in the car, causing a significant safety risk to everyone in the vehicle. The dealer has received several reports from me (which they will not document), and it has been in for repair on a minimum of 5 occasions. Each time, with one exception, the service team tells me "the codes are gone" and they can't do anything. On one occasion, the care shut down on [XXX] and I drove immediately to the dealership, whereby they reported the issued as related to the "MAP" and fixed. It is not. The car has been recalled for this exact issue, and went in for the repair, which did not fix it. The safety risk of this vehicle is far beyond acceptable, my family is at risk every time I need to drive it. I should be able to have safe use of the car I have paid a significant amount of money for. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

RE: 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe (hybrid) This complaint involves a well-known defect and malfunction endemic to the Jeep Wrangler 4Xe with the identical powertrain and software, and a well-documented recall of the Jeep Wrangler, but for some reason, does not yet extend to the Grand Cherokee 4Xe model for identical symptoms and malfunction behavior. The associated recall for the Wrangler is NHTSA campaign number: 22V865000. FCA US, LLC’s number for this recall ZB7, however the Grand Cherokee with the identical powertrain-- has yet to be recalled, however has the same defective issues. This is brand new off-the-showroom 2022 Grand Cherokee 4Xe, and the malfunctioning behavior began within the first 10 days-- at 179 miles (3/4 tank of fuel), with the vehicle going into the FORM (Fuel/Oil Refresh Mode), depriving the vehicle of electric mode or electric assist. The vehicle message stated: "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable - Fuel & Oil Refresh in Progress" Other dangerous symptoms and malfunctions associated with the defective/malfunctioning software have occurred: (a) A single instance of a "limp-home" mode (25 mph max on a main thoroughfare), and; (b) several instances of failure of the transmission to shift into a higher gear-- causing the engine to over-rev (over max redline RPM) to maintain a highway speed). At 331 miles, the vehicle was refueled for the first time, and the FORM warning message disappeared with the fresh refuel, however the vehicle hasn't been driven enough to determine of the transmission issues were resolved with the refuel. Nonetheless, the FORM was a malfunction that occurred at 3/4 tank with only 179 miles on the vehicle, and the other malfunctions are presumed to be associated with the primary defect. AIR BAGS
5 complaints
While parked my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, front passenger seat airbag deployed unexpectedly without any collision or impact. The deployment caused damage to the seat and could be a serious safety risk. I later learned there is a recall for similar models due to improperly secured side airbag connectors, but my VIN is not currently included. I believe my vehicle may have the same defect and request immediate inspection and repair at no cost, as this is a safety-critical failure.

Upon starting the vehicle, multiple dashboard lights came on alerting total loss of power steering system (EPS). This also triggered lights related to forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance. Vehicle was nearly impossible to steer out of driveway.
May 08, 2023
Upon startup power steering was disabled and the console message "power steering available service required". Blind spot detection and lane departure also showed as in-op. Wheel was very hard to turn. After traveling a few hundred feet I determined that the car was not safe to drive. After two vehicle restarts the problem cleared. If this happened at speed, in traffic, a serious accident is likely. Dealership is unable to look at problem for weeks. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHICH REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ATTENTION FROM NHTSA!

I was driving down the road doing about 35 mph and suddenly I lost power steering and car jerked to the right. Power steering light, forward collision control, lane assistance, traction control and blind spot warning lights all came on, and a message appeared on my dashboard to have them all serviced. I took my jeep to the dealership I purchased it at in April and they are inspecting the cause of the problem. This is the second time my lane assistance and forward collision have had issues, and the dealership was unable to find the cause the first time. I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which experienced a serious mechanical failure on [XXX], at approximately [XXX] CDT in Detroit Lakes, MN. While exiting a ZIPS Car Wash at low speed, my vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of power and/or propulsion. I believe the engine shut down without warning, and the vehicle would not respond to throttle input or move forward. I attempted to restart the vehicle, but it remained unresponsive for several seconds. During this time, another vehicle behind me was unable to stop in time and rear-ended my Jeep, causing damage to the rear of the vehicle and my vehicle. This incident appears consistent with two known recalls affecting this model: • NHTSA Recall 25V576 (September 2025) – Hybrid control software defect causing unexpected engine shutdown and loss of propulsion • NHTSA Recall 23V503 (June 2023) – Engine shutdown and loss of drive power due to internal control module failure Required info: • Component/System Failed: Engine and/or propulsion system. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. • Safety Risk: The sudden loss of propulsion left me stalled when exiting the car wash with no ability to move, directly leading to a rear-end collision. My safety and the safety of the driver behind me were put at risk due to the unexpected failure. • Reproduction of Problem: The issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but it aligns with known recall conditions. • Inspection Status: The vehicle has not yet been inspected by Jeep or insurance representatives, but I am initiating claims and service requests immediately. A police officer was present but it was on private property and no report was created. I have the officers card and number for follow up as needed. • Warning Lamps or Symptoms: Unknown INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On three different occasions, the Jeep randomly turned off on its own. Each time I was stopped, so thankfully I was not injured. I brought it to two different dealerships, one in May 2025 and one in July 2025, and neither of them could fix it. The last dealership advised me not to drive the vehicle due to the safety implications of a stall during driving due to "the digital crash input issue". As a result, I sold my Jeep and bought another vehicle. The vehicle was still under warranty when I sold it.

Vehicle suffers from a documented hybrid defect (DTC B273C-00) that causes loss of electric propulsion, disables hybrid modes, and triggers "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warnings. The problem first appeared around Feb 2025 and was confirmed by FCA’s own STAR bulletins and dealership diagnostics. No validated fix exists; dealership only cleared the fault code temporarily. The defect led to: • Power loss during highway merge on [XXX], with children in the car • Sudden unintended acceleration on [XXX] • Persistent warnings and failure to operate in advertised hybrid/electric modes for over 120+ days FCA refused to repurchase, replace, or permanently repair, despite acknowledging the defect and safety risk in internal documents. The vehicle remains in ICE-only mode, depriving it of the key safety and efficiency features it was designed to provide. The defect significantly raises risk of collision due to unpredictable propulsion response, and no dealership or FCA representative provided written certification the vehicle is safe in all drive modes. Vehicle purchased in Wisconsin but always registered and operated exclusively in Illinois. Arbitration through NCDS confirmed the defect exists but denied relief, citing insufficient corroboration. Problem was reproduced and confirmed by certified dealership and documented in service records. This complaint is part of an ongoing concern that hybrid system EMI issues (like DTC B273C-00) pose systemic safety risk and remain unresolved. Once a week or so, the vehicle will experience motive power loss while driving. Typically, it's for 3 or 4 seconds and is accompanied by a blinking red "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warning light on the dashboard. This is very dangerous because for those 3 or 4 seconds, the vehicle will not accelerate/maintain speed. I've had the vehicle at the dealership for the same reason multiple times. The dealership has tried to identify the root cause but so far has not been successful.

On commute to work today cabin heat (on high) was blowing cold air. Start of drive heating within cabin/windshield was possible. After 10 mins of driving heat, vents began to blow cold air. Temperature this morning was under 20 F with slight mist of rain, because of the conditions the windshield began to ice over. With no ability to defrost the windshield. This is the same defect as FCA Recall# 04B/NHTSA 24v-111, which could result in the loss of being able to defrost. In summary cabin heat and defrost inconsistent and during cold/wet weather could result in not being able to see through windshield.

SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

I have some major safety concerns with my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, specifically with the AEB. Today was the SECOND time that my automatic emergency braking came on while I’m driving down the highway at 60 mph. The first time was in November. The roads were dry, no other cars coming toward me, driving on a straight stretch, with one car a safe distance behind. My jeep went from 60 to 0 slamming on the brakes so hard and flashing the AEB lights and dinging on the dash. Seat belts locked up tight and gave you a hard fast whip lash forward. Very terrifying like what is even happening?! The car behind me thank goodness had enough time to slam on their brakes and not rear end me! As fast as you could even comprehend what was happening, the lights and dinging stop and you can drive again. I was like maybe a leaf or something blew over the sensor and kind of wrote it off because nothing came up on my Jeep app. Fast forward to today, February 25th. Again roads are dry, no one is coming towards me, driving 60 mph in a straight stretch and wham the auto emergency brakes slam on again! Hard brake from 60-0 mph. AEB lights flashing and dinging, locking seat belts and whiplashing your head forward as you screech to an uncontrolled stop. I had absolutely no control over my brakes or gas! This time I’m livid bc my children were in the car with me! Thank goodness everyone was properly wearing seatbelts and in car seats, and I had both hands on the steering wheel, and it was not on a bend in the road because this could have been very dangerous and not ended well! This is NOT ok and there is nothing at all that blocked a sensor or would have had any reason to cause the Jeep to engage this feature. I should not have to be afraid to drive my Jeep and now it’s literally terrifying to drive it bc you never know if it’s going to happen. It needs addressed and fixed ASAP and all Jeep owners should be made aware of this very dangerous situation!

The Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking have not worked properly for over a year. Sometimes I get a message that the AEB/ACC is not working and to see the Dealer other times i have a light lit showing it is not working. On some occasions there are no signs of it not working but ate ACC works like the regular cruise control and does not slow the car down unless you apply the brake. The car has been to the dealer 2 pervious times with no long term fix it is now there again out of warrantee waiting to be fixed. last time was 05/06/24
Feb 18, 2025
Driving down a road at 50mph during daylight hours. It was sprinkling and vehicle was in electric mode. There were no cars in front of me, or behind me at the time. While my foot was on the accelerator, there was a loss of power then collision warning engaged out of nowhere with the audible beeps, flashing on the instrument cluster, and sharp braking. The incident was brief, but certainly a safety hazard as there were no indications the automated emergency braking was going to occur.

1. in normal driving condition suddenly apply the breakes full, putting yourself at risk if you have another vehicle that comes behind you, it will definitely hit you 2.On many occasions the anti-collision system is deactivated for no apparent reason, it is almost always in specific areas, I understand that it has to do with some Wi-Fi signal

Timing cover leak, replaced by dealer once covered under warranty. Few months later same leak occurred in the same park after dealer replacement. Back to the dealer to have checked, dealer found that the head gasket during manufacture/casting has defect causing the head gasket to protrude into the mounting surface for the timing cover gasket/seal causing improper seal and securement. Dealer got Jeep engineers involved and found it was during manufacture and assembly/casting process. New head gasket being replaced and installed inspection of all mounting surfaces on cylinders valves and pistons for additional damage, and replacing timing cover gasket again. This caused loss of engine oil over time even after dealer fix and replacement the first time, this could cause drivers to not know they are low on engine oil causing potential catastrophic engine damage or failure/seizing during normal operating conditions. This is a common failure in the Jeep 4xe of timing cover seal issues and leaks.

The red wrench light keeps coming on, Hybrid system needs repair. It looses power for a short period of time, every time has been on the freeway. It makes a hugh crunch noise(transmission) and slams into gear. It is available for inspection, currently at dealership, it has been there for last week. This problem has been persistent, its been in many times for this issue. Chrysler told me they do not have a fix. It is all over the chat forums. We do not feel safe driving this car because it looses power temporarily and on the freeway. Many others are having problems with it stopping from a loss of power. It has been inspected by the dealership and in for repairs many times. This vehicle has been in the dealership on a regular basis since it was new. It has always had a power train issue, clunky and loss of power. Now it is worse and they don't have a repair. It has also had engine lights coming on and off. Had issue with having to put it in park turn off and turn back on to get it in gear. The loss of power on the freeway is the persistent issue right now. These cars need pulled off the roads until they are fixed!

Having less than 3K miles in the odometer, the engine started to develop valve train noise that worsens as the engine gets hotter, taken to the dealership to check on the concern plus no start, had the battery replaced after staying 3 weeks in the dealership, supposedly the noise was normal, took it to another dealership as the first one left a few things not fixed, once again i was told the noise was normal, The noise started to get louder as miles were being put on the car, people would ask if the car was a diesel powered one, even the service advisor of the dealership were the car remains asked me if the engine was diesel when she heard the noise. At idling speed the engine is not running smoothly you can hear cylinders misfiring on the exhaust, oil temp remains over 240 when driven, 245 just by pressing the gas to pass a car, oil pressure at idling speed has gone lower as time goes by reaching at times 28 psi. Noise varies when the engine switches in between 8 cyl or 4 cyl mode, in 4 cyl mode the whole car vibrates really bad and loud until you hit the gas to get the engine out of the 4 cyl mode. Service engine light came on once at idling speed when the idling speed became erratic. Engine stalled once. Car in the dealership since Jan 23 2023, was called exactly one month later to pick it up as per they report everything was ok, asked to try another one with the same engine mine has so i could hear the "normal" noise, they had none to check, the shop foreman went on a test ride with me to confirm the issue and then he acknowledged that the noise was weird, so i was asked to leave it, two months already went by and so far no word on the issue, the car has not being further diagnosed by the 'ENGINE EXPERT" will have to go through the lemon law as they just don't say a word or give me options. Grand Cherokee Summit reserve 5.7 Hemi engine. as of today 3/29/2023 still not diagnosed

The system has many errors, The primary issue is the forward collision warning indicator light is on showing that the service is off. But it isn't, you can go into the system settings and turn the service on and off without issue. The light stays on. It does work as far as I can tell also. It seems to be causing the paddle shifting to be disabled. I can't downshift going down a steep grade and am being required to use by brakes. Which can be very dangerous. It is causing another issue that I cannot recall at the moment. There is another issue with the settings of the vehicle randomly changing to Euro type metric settings. The clock changing to 24 hour, tire pressure changing to kpa? mph changing to kph, all the different unit of measurements changing over. Randomly, not at the same time but consistently every few weeks. At first it seemed like it was connected to a monthly software update, but now its random. The vehicle has been taken to a Jeep dealership in Sherman, tx about the issue of the Forward collision system and they fixed it. Then the problem reappeared a month afterward. I've called and they confirm that the correct US software is installed. I am the only driver of the vehicle, so no one else is changing the settings. I work a full time 9-5 job and do not work close to a dealership, which has become an issue for these matters. All the issues I have had with the vehicle seem to be related to them updating the software without my approval. Currently my vehicle has 71k miles on it and won't be covered by the 50k warranty. The warning light issue started after 50k miles.

On April 12th my husband and I were driving our Jeep after it had a recall and update to fix the recall of a battery issue on all 4xE models. We were doing 45 mph down the road and it threw an error code that said “Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System”, “Service Emergency Braking System” the Jeep then shut off and said for us to push the brake and press start for us to turn the car on in the middle of the road. We were able to safely get off the road, when we came to a stop the car put itself into park automatically. We had to start it a couple of times to make sure it was ok to turn around and drive home. It was then towed to the dealership. They told us they could see the issue logged in the system but they could not replicate the same issue after driving it. They told us that we had to come and pick up the Jeep and I told them how unsafe that made me feel for us and everyone on the road. They told us there’s nothing they could do for us. We got the car back and another issue arose where are Passive Entry Switch became corroded and our car kept unlocking itself throughout the night. The day we got it back from them we were driving it and we got the same “Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System” again. So I brought our Jeep back again and they told me in the service department they’ve been working with the engineers at Jeep and they are waiting for an update to fix it and it’s one of four in the area with this issue and Jeep is fully aware of the severity of the issue. They also told me they would be holding on to our car until it’s fixed. I was called by the head of the service department at that dealership and was told they need their loaner car back and they got word they’ll maybe have a fix for our car in November. They knowingly gave us our completely unsafe Jeep back and told us to try for Lemon Law - with all parties knowing the severity of the security and lives put at risk on the road. We have gotten this error code many times and are told there is no fix

I was turning at a intersection, there was no car in-front only on the side , as I was turning , my jeep suddenly made an emergency beeping sound and break as if I was goin to crash into a car or something. Clearly I was just turning . The break was so hard I even thought I had gotten hit in the back or I had hit something in the front ! The car behind me had to stop and act fast as well otherwise I would have really been hit by him/her. I called my dealer since I had just bought my car 2weeks ago. I have a appt to get it look at , they told me it might be my sensor being dirty or something but I feel like this is a concern jeep should take care of. Or it will really cause an accident I don’t feel safe driving my jeep at all now! Especially doing turns or just thinking it might breaking when I am driving much faster next time. I’m taking my jeep to my dealer service dept. picture below are evidence of appts , and having to get a rental because of my report.

The contact rented a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the running taillights were not functioning. After restarting the vehicle, it returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number 22V544000 (Exterior Lighting), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

When making left or right turn using the turn signal, the headlight related to that turn signal goes off. This happens when the headlight control is set on "auto" for the headlight to come on at dusk. This is an extremely hazardous condition not only for on coming traffic but also for the driver because of elimination of lighted visibility to the area turning into. Jeep mechanics have repeatedly voiced excuses for a hazardous design flaw which needs to be recalled and corrected. Please Please Please research and take steps to remedy the issue. The Adaptive High Beams have stopped working on my Grand Jeep Cherokee L. When you push the lever forward, it should engage the high beams, but it does not. The only way to use the high beams is to pull the lever back (flicker action) and hold it. This is a dangerous way to drive without having high beams.

BACK OVER PREVENTION
2 complaints
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced a brief intermittent display of the rearview camera image while reversing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the radio software update was performed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V436000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was advised that the vehicle needed to be retained for servicing. The vehicle remained at the dealer for 7 months. The dealer had replaced the two side cameras, the control module and had performed the software update with the assistance of a Jeep factory engineer; however, the failure persisted. The engineer determined that the camera wiring harness needed to be replaced; however, the part had been discontinued. The engineer determined that the wiring harness needed to be bypassed, and a patch cord needed to be installed. The dealer called the contact and informed the contact that the rearview camera was operating as intended after the installation of the cord patch. The contact declined the vehicle repair with a cord patch and inquired about buy-back assistance. The contact stated that the cord patch reduced the integrity of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

Power steering would not work. Luckily I was pulling into my own driveway when this happened. The car was brought to the nearest Jeep dealership which I was then told they could do nothing about and no problem was visible on the computer or when they drove the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to me with no resolution.

I went to start my car and pull out of a parking lot when the power steering would not turn on. I tried starting and stopping the engine multiple times. I eventually left the car and returned later for it where the power steering was back on and fully functioning. I had a friend drive me and the vehicle to my house to be towed to a jeep dealership the following day. The power steering went out and back on two more times during that 10 min drive. Jeep service received the vehicle the next day and said they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle and reset the computer. I was told to come pick up my car as there was nothing more they could do.

Was driving with the kids in the car, all of our safety was put at risk when the warning lamp came on and then the gear shift system malfunctioned. It said service hybrid system then went away. This is the third time this has happened. I had to pull over and got honked at by cars that had to stop to avoid hitting us. The problem has been confirmed by today's announcement over the impending recall for this exact issue. The component has not been inspected, I am scared to drive it to the dealer.

While driving the vehicle, several warning lights activated, the first being automatic emergency braking is disabled. The second warning light advised me to not turn the car off until I got to my destination. It further advised that I would not be able to shift gears. The vehicle began to slow down on its own until it came to a complete stop. I was in the middle of an intersection when this happened. The dashboard was displaying a message saying press brake and push button to start car. Nothing happened when I did that. I could not shift gears or get the vehicle to move at all. Even though, I was getting the message to push the button to start the vehicle, I believe the vehicle was actually on. I was stuck near the intersection for one hour with a tow truck on the way when I was finally able to turn the e vehicle off. When it turned back on, the check engine light was on and the vehicle was able to drive. It has now happened three times.

Driving vehicle and it lost all power. Warning light for Service PHEV came on solid on dash. Switched to ESave and was able to drive approx 2 blocks and vehicle lost power again in middle of road. Shifted to neutral, restarted and was able to side of road. Called tow company to deliver to dealer. Side note- vehicle was in dealer on 6/30 with flashing Service PHEV light; dealer ran code and returned with DTC of B273C-00 (Digital Crash Input). Dealer stated that vehicle is going into a “limp mode” due to 95B software update, and that there is not a fix, and other vehicles are at dealership unable to repair. When asked for advice what I should do, the response was “ do not take a long road trip”. I drove approx 60 miles since and the vehicle went into solid limp mode. Being evaluated at dealership currently.

I was driving in hybrid mode at approximately 50 mph gently accelerating up a gentle hill. All of a sudden, the vehicle lost a significant amount of its motive power and experienced a significant shudder. The power delivery to the vehicle was significantly reduced for 2-3 seconds, puting myself and family at significant risk. The red service hybrid system light lit up on the dashboard and blinked for approximately 5 seconds. The vehicle then returned to normal operation. I took the vehicle to the Jeep dealership the next day and they were not able to find any associated error codes or replicate the issue.

- I received a "service hybrid system" light while driving (it only appeared for a split second and went away) and I took it to the dealership for troubleshooting. The dealership found a stored code of B273C-00. They contacted their Jeep engineers who have not been forthcoming as to what the issue is, but said the vehicle is not safe to drive, so I am not allowed to have the vehicle back (the same dealership has a 2nd Grand Cherokee 4xe with the same issue). Both vehicles are currently at the dealership and should be available for inspection. From my online research it seems to be tied to the vehicle's crash sensor and high voltage cable harness. There are also numerous other owners in online forums discussing the same issue with their Jeeps (Grand Cherokees and Wranglers). -As Jeep engineers are not allowing myself or others to drive their vehicle with this code, they obviously consider it a safety issue. The scary thing to me is, that had I not happen to see that quick flash of the "service hybrid light" I would be driving this unsafe vehicle without knowing it, as it did not turn on the check engine light, so I had no idea there was a stored code until the dealer checked it out. That means there are probably thousands of folks driving around at risk without even know there is a safety issue. -This issue has apparently been going on for months, as the other Jeep at my dealership has there for months now.

This vehicle has a nonstop history of unresolved electrical issues cause numerous warnings of failed systems, failure to start and randomly going into "Limp mode". It has been to the Jeep service shop 7 times so far. Recently, the vehicle completely shut down and lost all power while driving at speeds higher than 50 mph on 2 separate occasions. On February 2nd 2025 the vehicle lost power on the freeway at 80 mph. I swerved into the left shoulder to prevent an accident. vehicle was towed to Jeep service center, a software upgrade was performed and returned to me as presumed "fixed" by Jeep. On February 25, 2025 the vehicle again lost all power while driving down a highway at 50 mph. Again, forcing me to swerve off the road onto the right shoulder to avoid an accident. Vehicle again was towed to a Jeep service center where it remains.

Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I engaged the adaptive cruise control. It worked fine until such time as I attempted to pass a large vehicle such as a semi truck. When I would get along side of the truck the brakes violently slammed on without warning. The vehicle has been taken back to the selling dealer for repair and they were not able to fix it. (see uploaded Repair Order). I then called Jeep Customer Care who then sent me to another dealer for a second opinion. This dealer attempted repairs twice, both without success. When I took it back again a dealership employee rode with me and took a video of what happens when passing a truck with the adaptive cruise engaged. This dealer now has it for the third time and so far the vehicle has been there for about 9 days with no indication of any progress. Even if they "fix" it I am not confident of the safety of the vehicle as it would be very easy to be hit in the rear end by a following vehicle should this happen again.

I drove the car in the morning with no issues for 45 mins. Later that day I started the car and three warning messages appeared-- SERVICE POWER STEERING, ACTIVE LANE MANAGEMENT UNAVAILABLE SERVICE REQUIRED, & REAR BRAKING ASSIST UNAVAILABLE. There were no previous warnings or messages. The car was not safe to drive because I could not turn the wheel easily at all. When I called the dealership they told me I would have to have it towed in, they had no loaner car for me and that they may be able to look at it on Feb 27th! This happened on February 14th. Completely unacceptable.

With 173 miles on the vehicle, I went to start the vehicle and the power steering, electronic stability control, blind spot monitoring, and lane assist lights all went on. The power steering did not work and I was unable to back out of my parking space. I repeatedly turned the car on and off and the lights persisted for at least an hour. After an hour, all lights went off and I was able to drive the vehicle. This could have been extremely unsafe if this had occurred while the vehicle was in motion. This also was problematic as I was stranded in a parking lot late at night. I immediately took it into the dealer and they cannot reproduce the problem and I am driving a loaner as I do not feel safe in the brand new vehicle. No warning lights came on prior to this problem appearing.

From around 100 miles the active lane management started to fail. After few visits to dealer and attempts to calibrate front cam, problem persists, so Chrysler didn’t know how to fix it. After a month waiting for a “tool” to fix it, power steering disconnect. Car back to dealer to avoid a safety accident. After a month i was advised that both failures were cause by a damage rack and pinion that needs to be replaced and test to see if that’s the reason for the failure as explained by the service advisor from Autocentro Chrysler at Caguas Puerto Rico. Iam still waiting.

Upon starting the vehicle a steering wheel icon popped up on the dashboard warning “power steering unavailable, service required.” This was the first time I had seen this message in the 3 weeks since taking the vehicle home from the dealer. I then turned the ignition on and off a few times, but the warning persisted. When trying to maneuver the vehicle the steering was very hard, proving this was not just a false alarm. Not being able to properly steer the vehicle was an obvious risk to myself and family, especially if it was to suddenly happen while driving. Because of this I promptly called the dealership tow service to bring it into the service department. It is now 6 days later and the dealer has not had a chance to look at it yet, or confirm anything about the issue with me. From my own research I have seen numerous complaints of the same issue starting from the 2021 grand Cherokee L and with the new platform 2022 grand Cherokee 2 row and L models. Although this seems to be a widely known issue no recalls have been made.

My vehicle has had continuous electrical issues, for instance today, I could NOT turn off the radio, some days the left speakers do not work. The CARPLAY and other features are intermittant. Secondly the power steering just randomly stopped working, the dealer states its the LOJACK, removed the LOJACK and now I have paid for a feature, that I no longer have, and just waiting for the next time the steering goes out, because there is no proof this is the problem. I returned my 2021 Grand Cherokee L and was able to retrieve the difference, and pay the difference for the 2022, assuming they had resolved the electrical problems, before producing another year. We are, or should I say we were JEEP people. My husband has a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. I have had a Jeep Cherokee, multiple Grand Cherokees and now two Grand Cherokee L.... I love the vehicle but I am no feeling very confident in the safety of this vehicle.

I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a manufacturing or design defect involving the sunroof of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. On or around December 1, 2025, I discovered a severe water leak originating from the sunroof area during normal rainfall. Water entered the vehicle interior without warning and caused substantial damage to the headliner, interior trim, and other interior components. The amount of water intrusion was significant and far beyond what would be expected from normal wear. The vehicle has only around 45,000 miles and is regularly maintained. The leak occurred without any visible damage to the sunroof glass and without prior indication of a problem. The sunroof was fully closed at the time. This suggests a defect related to the sunroof sealing system, drainage system, or overall design rather than misuse or external damage. This defect presents a serious safety concern. Water intrusion inside the vehicle creates the risk of: Electrical system damage or failure, Mold and health hazards, Impaired visibility due to water dripping near the windshield, Distraction to the driver while operating the vehicle. In heavy rain conditions, this defect could reasonably occur while driving, creating a dangerous situation for the driver and passengers. As a result of this defect, my vehicle sustained significant interior damage, requiring repairs. I believe this issue reflects a broader defect in the sunroof design or drainage system rather than an isolated incident. I am concerned that other Jeep Grand Cherokee owners may be experiencing similar failures. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential safety-related defects involving sunroof leakage in Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The severity of the water intrusion and resulting damage indicates a defect that could pose a risk to vehicle safety and occupant well-being.

Earlier this spring, when we started our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the language had changed itself to Italian, the units were metric, the ‘Forward Collision’ off icon was stuck on the dashboard. Also the paddle shifters did not work. In May, 2025, we paid $204.41 to Gary Mathews Motors in Clarksville, TN to ‘diagnose’ and ‘fix’ the issue. Fast forward to this month, and the issue happened again! They didn’t ‘fix’ anything. See forum where HUNDREDS of other owners are experiencing the same exact issues: [XXX] Also see Star bulletin regarding this issue: [XXX] From what I can see in the forums, there is no permanent fix for this issue. Despite this, Jeep/Stellantis keeps charging customers to ‘diagnose’ and ‘fix’ the issue which is a scam/fraud since they know there is no permanent fix. I have reached out to Jeep, and been promised follow-up from one of their specialists that never comes. I have all transcripts and promised timelines to expect follow up that never happen. I will attach photos where they admit they haven’t met the timeline for follow up that was communicated, and as of now, despite additional promises of communication/follow up I still have not heard from them. Having a forward collision system that does not function properly puts myself and others at risk. Also having a dash in units/language you do not understand is also a safety issue. Hello, I am reaching out to formally escalate an ongoing safety concern with my vehicle’s reverse guidance system, which continues to malfunction despite multiple service visits. This issue directly affects my ability to safely operate the vehicle and creates a daily hazard while backing up. I have already taken my vehicle to the dealership multiple times, and each attempt has failed to resolve the problem long-term. I have also contacted Jeep Corporate and was assigned Case Number, which has since been escalated to a case manager. However, the issue remains unresolved, and I am no closer to a permanent fix. This problem is especially concerning given the recent Jeep recalls involving camera, rear-visibility, and electrical/software issues. The recurring malfunction in my reverse guidance system appears to be directly aligned with the types of failures documented in these recalls, further reinforcing that this is not an isolated defect. At this time, I am requesting the following: 1.Immediate review and escalation of my case. 2.A definitive corrective action plan to permanently repair the reverse guidance system. 3.Confirmation on whether my vehicle qualifies for any recall-related repairs, software updates, or component replacements related to rear-visibility systems. 4.If the issue cannot be corrected, I am requesting that Jeep explore goodwill options, including replacement or repurchase consideration, given the repeated failures and ongoing safety risk. I have been patient throughout this process, but the unresolved malfunction of a critical safety system is unacceptable. Please respond as soon as possible with next steps. randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp).almost caused crash twice!!!

While driving on a local neighborhood street at approximately 38 miles per hour, ( cruise control possibly engaged) , all the lights on my dashboard suddenly illuminated. A messages appeared stating that service was required for every guidance and braking system. At that moment I became concerned, so I attempted to use the brake. Despite pressing the brake pedal as hard as I could, the car did not slow down. I cannot remember if I downshifted using the paddle shifters on the steering wheel, but I was able to coast to a manageable speed and pull into a parking lot. I then turned the vehicle off and on again, but all the warning lights remained on the dashboard. After waiting for about five minutes, the vehicle was restarted, and this time none of the warning lights were on. Since I was very close to home, I drove the rest of the way very slowly. Later, I searched online and discovered that other people have experienced this same problem. Some of the information I read suggested that water can get into a component, and it had been raining on the day of the incident and the day before. My primary safety concern is what would have happened if I had been approaching a stoplight or driving on a freeway where I needed to stop suddenly. I am confident that I would not have been able to stop in time to avoid a crash. It is frightening to think of what could happen if a child were to run into the street and this happening. I immediately made an appointment with my local Jeep dealership. The dealer has since driven the vehicle 98 miles but has not yet been able to replicate the issue.

The electrical system of this vehicle is causing several issues putting the safety of me, my passengers and drivers around me at risk. Starting at 6,300 miles the vehicle had a temporary loss of power steering. After parking for a day the power steering returned, leading me to believe it was caused by an electrical/software code issue. There was a safety recall for the battery pack starting on fire while parked, driving or charging. No fix was available for quite a while and I could not charge the car or park in the garage. Shortly after having the computer updated to stop it from spontaneously catching fire I have been getting a warning light saying to maintenance the hybrid system, and is accompanied with a momentary loss of propulsion. This happens without warning every 150 miles or so. The dealership said it had a ‘digital crash’ code and was not able to reproduce, but I have video evidence of the warning lamp coming on and then clearing itself. There is now a safety recall issued for this exact problem with no fix available at this time. There are no warning lamps in advance of these issues occurring, only concurrent to the issue happening. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. Past experience tells me I could lose propulsion and/or steering at any time. I need to drive to work, it is unrealistic to not drive my vehicle until a resolution is found for the current round of safety recalls. I am afraid this vehicle is going to kill someone.

This vehicle has had multiple recalls. Anytime that I call in to get serviced. I receive one of these responses from their service department: they can’t replicate the issue, if the lights that came on are no longer on they cannot tell what the problem was, or they fixed it. I’ve had multiple calls and service request with the dealership as well with Stalantas and Chrysler capital. I have pictures of different lights that go off in the dashboard whether it’s the hybrid service whether it’s engine hot, whether it’s the driver assist not working, “vehicle ready to drive”while it’s been driving a while, other issues that I’ve had regarding the components in the vehicle the AC and heat not working properly where you can have it on heat and it doesn’t heat anything or you can have it on AC and it doesn’t cool anything. And then it fixes itself and it starts to work again a few days later. The center screen goes blank sometimes. The radio button on and off sometimes it does not turn on. Sometimes when in reverse the safety system will go off and abruptlystop the car when there is nothing behind it. Currently the vehicle is at the local dealership department in their service department because of a blown gasket, also a known recall per previous research. The only department to inspect the vehicle is JT‘s service department local Jeep Dodge ram dealership have placed numerous calls to manufacture, trying to get them to buy back vehicle.

The contact waited for a while and was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that an air bag sensor might have caused the failure. An unknown part was replaced. The contact stated that the message "Service Hybrid Electric System" was continuously displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer escalated the failure and contacted the engineering departing at the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a claim. The hybrid battery had the potential to catch fire and it was recalled for a software update, the 95b update. After this software update was completed, the vehicle would completely shut down, regardless of being parked or while driving. The dealership deemed the vehicle "unsafe to drive" and has provided a loaner until they can correct the problem. In addition to this, the front suspension has been worked on many times, approximately 5-6 times to remedy a clinking noise when turning at full turn. Currently, they have not been able to remedy this problem. The manufacturer has refused to do a buy back on the vehicle, yet also refuses to give the vehicle back due to, in their words; "It is unsafe to drive".

Multiple warnings with the service hybrid system alert coming on the dash. Code B273C-00 was confirmed by the technician at the Napleton Jeep service department. Vehicle can shut off at any time at any speed and there is no resolution at this time to fix the issue. When accelerating over uneven surfaces, the vehicle bucks back and forth violently. This concern was verified with the technician at Napleton Jeep. The shop Foreman contacted Chrysler zone engineering and confirmed that they are aware of this issue but there is no current resolution for this issue. This is highly dangerous when pulling out into traffic.

Instrument panel switches to Italian, forward collision off light gets stuck on and my seat moved abruptly while I was driving down the road. I have taken my Jeep into the dealership last year for this problem, it was “fixed” but has come back. Noticed the light stuck on last week. Today while I was driving the panel changed to Italian and my seat moved abruptly. Many people on online forums express experiencing the same problem.

"Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. Here is an example forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: [XXX] Many people on the forum believe this issue did not start until a software update a year or so ago. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a DOT Bulletin on the issue: dot.report Bulletins Because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. In January work related to recall 95B was performed on the Jeep. The next day the issues started with a warning light indicating the Hybrid System needed service. The Jeep has been in repair for this issue 6 times and over 56 days with no resolution. It is currently in for repair. A buy back request was made but both FCA and the arbitrators indicate it is not a safety concern. There are safety concerns related to the Warning light as it appears to impact electrical communications in the vehicle. Repair notes indicate the communication issues. Also, power steering has stopped working and the engine has died while driving causing a rapid deceleration. Multiple users are reporting the same issues or additional impact related to the Hybrid warning light that started after 95B work.

My car was showing a "service hybrid system" warning light in the months of April and May 2025 intermittantly along with a slight loss of power. I took it to the dealership and was told its a software issue but it's fine. Stellantis is aware of this issue but there is no fix. I brought it back a week later with the same concerns and reading the document the dealership gave me - the 95B recall fix apparently crashed communication modules with my ORC. I expressed safety concerns. The dealership once again cleared codes and told me it was safe to drive. One week later on May 8, 2025, I was driving home from work. Without warning, the car locked up and went limp in the middle of the road. I went from 35mph to 0mph without seconds. I luckily was not rear ended. The dealership opened up another case with STAR. I have since gotten rid of the car due to continuous recalls and issues. I did not feel safe in this car and I feared for myself as well as others on the road. I am only taking the time to report this because there is no fix, my dealership repeadily gave the car back to me (in the notes, it was to be returned to me on 5/12 with no fix), and others are having the same issue.

I've had issues with this jeep grand cherokee 4xe randomly shutting down on the highway at speeds between 65-75 mph. The service engine and transmission lights come on and the vehicle itself dies out and will power on but will not start for about 10-15 minutes afterwards. This is the fourth time I've had the issue and the dealership can not pin point a reason/fix for the car suddenly stopping. This last time the power steering went out as well these issues have almost caused several accidents . The dealership just clears the codes after saying the can not replicate the problems I'm having and gives the car back. I've gotten to the point now after almost being rear ended trying to clear the vehicle that I no longer feel safe driving it not only for myself but the other drivers around me a car with a little over 20,000 miles should not be having these issues consistently.

The vehicle is displaying "service hybrid system" when driving at highway speeds. We have been told by the service center that this is just a code b273c-00, an error with the airbag system, and we should not worry about this since it is a computer glitch. I have confirmed with the service advisor that it is now impossible to distinguish a real hybrid system malfunction from a "fake" airbag system warning. I am told that the vehicle is safe to drive and nothing requires repair, however, Jeep star publication case S2408000063 states there is a fix, but it is only to be used to "mitigate buyback." That is unacceptable and needs to be remedied as soon as possible.

While driving on the freeway, the vehicle turned off. No engine, no electric, no headlights. I had to coast to the side during traffic. The mechanic is replacing the OCR module, stating the car thought it was in a collision and turned off. Though obviously it wasn’t. Before which, the screen flashes off from time to time. The car has had loss of power for a moment in the past but never all the way off. This was extremely dangerous and I’m concerned the OCR will not fix the issue. It is with the dealership now.

I recently had a recall fix for the hybrid system battery. Days after the car was serviced my dashboard displayed messages saying to service the Hybrid system and the 4WD. Two days later I was stopped at an intersection. I put my foot on the gas and after a few feet I lost power and the car only rolled. I was able to roll onto the shoulder while the dashboard was displaying multiple errors and showed the parking break was on, along with other warnings. I turned off the car and turned it back on. I selected the E-save setting wnich allowed me to complete the drive without any further issues.

I purchased a 2022 Jeep, my miles are under 20000, I took it to the dealership and told them something was going on with the vehicle. They checked the vehicle and said nothing was wrong with it. I ended up taking it back because the situation got worse, they finally told me it was my suspension. I also told them about the recall that was over looked. They told me to pick up my vehicle with no explanation to why. I had a warranty and there was no reason for them to deny me service.

I bought a LS2 motorcycle Helmet in a local shop on 06/26/24 to be a passenger on a motorcycle ride. While removing the lining and installing a communication system I discovered the foam was cracked on the posterior area of the helmet. The edges of the polystyrene were uneven. The local shop has a NO return NO exchange policy for helmets. I returned the very next day and showed the findings to the salesperson. The helmet was broken, and I did not feel safe to use it. They took the helmet. On 07/20/24 I picked up a replacement helmet. Same brand. The salesperson stated that they contacted the manufacture company and the manufacture company concluded that I broke the helmet trying to forcefully remove the polystyrene foam, which I did not. I know the integrity of the helmet is what makes it safe. The salesperson handled me the replacement helmet and stated that she personally reviewed the helmet, and it was intact. I did not review the helmet at the shop with her before I left. After I left the shop, I checked the helmet and found the same crack on the posterior part of the foam. This time the crack does not compromise the edges of the polystyrene, like the crack on the first helmet. The safety of the helmet may not be compromised in terms of absorbing deceleration forces, but I do not feel safe to use it. I bought a different brand helmet online. The foam is not intact in 2 new helmets. I have the replacement helmet for inspection and photos of the first helmet. My safety would have been at risk if I did not remove the lining to install the communication system. I am concerned that it could be a problem in the manufacturing or shipping and handling of this product and maybe others will never know that they are using a defective product. The crack was exactly on the same area on both helmets. I sent a message to the US Distibution company.

we have reported to the dealer multiple instances of noises (crunching and low thuds) and 'thumping' felt through floor boards coming from what appears to be front passenger side. Dealer installed right from sway bar end link as well as subsequently perform NHTSA mandatory recall repairs on Front Upper Control Arm to Steering Knuckle Pinch Bolt. After each 'repair' the problem appears to be getting worse (additionally we had the experience of the 'Sway Bar Disconnect Unavailable' light coming on while driving on a paved surface without having depressed the Sway-Bar button). We brought the vehicle into the Dealer again and one of the Service Managers came for a ride and confirmed our complaints. After a day of looking the Dealer stated that they are going to replace parts previously installed as they may have been defective. Parts are on order but we are concerned for our safety in continuing to drive the vehicle, due not only the sounds we are hearing / feeling but after having researched complaints online (as there are many folks having similar experiences, it appears that Chrysler / Jeep still have more work to do on the safe operation of the vehicle . thank you

Vehicle immediately accelerated as I was attempting to pull out of the house garage. I pressed hard on the breaks to halt it. I then returned the gear knob to park (“P”) mode. I tried again to place the gear knob on drive and the vehicle started raving on high as if it was about to take off at full speed. I waited for a few minutes while it was on park “P” mode, with the engine still idling, and placed it in reverse “R” mode to return into the garage and the same thing happened in reverse mode. It jumped back in full speed when I gradually released the brakes. Engine was raving extremely high. I decided to shut it off and schedule an appointment with the dealership for a vehicle inspection. As is, not certain if it might do the same while out on the street driving it. Vehicle just had a recall inspection done on 4/20/2024. This is the first time the engine has done such.

Today was the second time the AEB engaged while I was driving with no apparent reason. The first was in Nov 2023 while driving on the interstate at about 70 mph. The AEB engaged, slamming the car to an almost stop, alarm blared for a moment and then the car continued operating with no apparent codes or warning lights. Today it did it again while traveling about 30 mph. I was slowing down to turn into a drive. I was still headed straight with no cars around and the AEB engaged, slamming the car to a full stop, with the alarm and the dash flashing something in red. The car then drove off fine with no warning lights or indicators on the dash. I cannot reproduce the AEB reponse. In response to the first occurrence, the dealer “flashed” the software last year. I intend to take it in tomorrow for the reoccurrence. I believe it to be a safety issue not only in that my back hurts terribly from the whiplash of a stop as sudden as hitting a wall, but because had there been a car behind me on either occasion, it is almost certain they would have had to make a dramatic and dangerous swerve to avoid it or rear ended me.

POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

It is easy, when driving in automatic mode, to accidently touch one of the paddle shifters. In doing so, the automatic transmission disengages, and the transmission suddenly switches to control by the paddle shifters. If the driver is unaware of this, the vehicle can lose motive power if the gear then in effect is no longer fitting for the vehicles speed and the engine's RPM. I recently took the vehicle in for service of this issue because my wife had experienced this while driving on Interstate 95, in Maryland. The vehicle stopped responding to the accelerator, so she pulled onto the shoulder, put the vehicle in park and turned it off. When she turned it back on, it was back in automatic mode, and she was able to resume driving. The technician and service manager advised that when this occurs, the vehicle can be returned to automatic mode by pulling the right paddle forward. That information does not appear in the vehicle manual, or on the Jeep website. The technician and service manager also advised that there is no way to disable the paddles to prevent the problem from repeating, Other drivers have experienced this. See [XXX] . I believe it is a serious safety problem. To that point, there is a pending safety recall -- NHTSA 23V- 412 (copy attached) -- that addresses loss of motive power for another reason. Here is the description in the recall notice: The transmission control module and the hybrid control processor on your vehicle [1] may experience loss of communication caused by diagnostic reactions to faults resulting in an engine shut down condition. Engine shut down may result in an unexpected loss of motive power while driving, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. The sudden enabling of the paddle shifter and resulting loss of motive power is also a safety issue that needs prompt attention. In Hybrid mode, the transition from gas to battery power is clunky. It surges forward unpredictably and takes a bit to respond when the pedal is pressed. This erratic forward surge has happened several times, including once while my child was drinking water – which spilled all over him. The brakes are hard to modulate and are never consistent. When driving in e-save there is an awful engine noise. I typically only try to drive the vehicle in electric mode, but that only lasts to a point. At higher speeds and/or further acceleration, the gas engine kicks on- loudly- and without warning. There is no consistency in when to anticipate this abrupt change in how the vehicle drives as it happens at different intervals (ranging from 0%-3% battery left). This vehicle drives erratically, and I do not trust myself or my children riding in it. On top of this, there have been at least three safety recalls on this in three months. Therefore, I do not drive this vehicle unless necessary. Thus, $60,000 is basically parked in my garage with minimal to no use. I have even recently updated my insurance to reflect that it is not in use.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
1 complaint
The issue only occurs when holding down a +/- button to move the speed control to a high/lower set-point greater than a one mph increment. When, after being held, the button is released at the desired new speed level, it continues to increase/decrease speed until the speed control is turned off, cancelled, or the brake is actuated. (The manual for this vehicle reinforces my understanding that releasing the held button, should stop the speed change and save a new speed level.) I have tested this, and it occurs every time and never stops accelerating until I turn off the speed control function. ( i have released this control at 35 mph and it continues to accelerate to greater than 90 mph and the new speed command is not recognized.) I can handle this now, but the first time it happened I froze temporarily and believe this issue to be very dangerous if it occurs with an unaware person at a critical time.

Today while driving our Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was slowing for a stop light and a message came on saying service start/stop system. At the time I was traveling approximately 18 miles per hour. As I was slowing down I reached off approximately 5-8 mph when all of the car shifted to park.this was a very scary and dangerous incident for myself and vehicles around me. Now that I was stopped it wouldn’t let me shift the vehicle back in to drive. Finally a new message appeared saying stop/start restart required. 2nd time in last 2 months loss of power steering and all warning lights came on dash while driving. Very difficult to steer and would have not been able to make emergency maneuver. Vehicle was in shop for 30 days for same issue and power steering component was replaced but problem occurred again. If this had occurred when making a turn I would of been unable to control vehicle

SERVICE BRAKES,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
Advanced brake assist / emergency assist issue - while highway driving, during a sunny day and with no cars for at least 1 mile the system engaged the emergency brake as if it detected an eminent accident. This was at highway speeds so caused some commotion in the car. Once safely stopped in a rest area I turned off that system. The next day the active lane management system stated it needed service, that later went away. Moreover when the brake pedal is depressed the peddle pulses, leading me to believe the rotors are warped. This suv only has 3300 miles on it. It is scheduled to go to the dealership next week

SERVICE BRAKES
1 complaint
I work at the Jeep facility doing repairs. We notified management that someone put GLUE in the fitting for the left rear brake line, where it meets the soft line. The issue was never fixed and the vehicle has since been shipped. The person who fixes brakes on first shift said he’s been putting glue in brake lines since day one. Management has no idea what they’re doing here and these vehicles are unsafe to be in the road.

LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
June 30, 2022 purchase receipt of vehicle. Did not begin using Active Lane Management until August, approximately 800 miles on odometer. These problems came up repeatedly. 1. Yellow warning light came on: Electronic Stability Control 2. Yellow warning light came on: Electronic Stability Control Off 3. Yellow warning light came on: Service Forward Collision 4. Yellow warning light came on: Active Lane Management 5. Instrument display text = Active Lane Management (ALM) Unavailable Service Required 6. Active Lane Management is now intermittent 7. Instrument display text = Blind Spot Alert Off 8. When driving early morning before sunrise and going under multiple underpasses the driver instrument cluster camera came ON and showed a red spot warning of obstacle under the underpass – however no obstacle was there Warning lights and alarms continue to happen for the above. Fort Collins Jeep service technician claims the root problem is a crushed cable part number 68510744AE located in engine compartment. Dealer has my vehicle, waiting for new cable. I don't know if this is the root cause or if other things are wrong. I posted these found problems on the forum on https://www.jeepgarage.org Other Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk owner also said all those problems are happening on his identical vehicle.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the message "power steering unavailable, service required" had suddenly displayed and the power steering malfunctioned causing the steering wheel to become difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who replaced the steering rack and pinion. After retrieving the vehicle the contact was driving approximately 25 MPH when the same steering malfunction occurred causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a tree. During the incident, the braking system had also malfunctioned and the brake pedal was hard to depress and the vehicle did not stop before crashing into a tree. The driver sustained a headache and back and should pains. The front seat passenger sustained back and neck pains. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. No police report was taken. The vehicle was towed away. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 2,700.

This is my Personal Assessment: My vehicle didn't visit the dealer yet and there are no warning lights of any kind and the answer to all the above bullets is NO. Two main issues, 1) Intermittently, when press the gas pedal from idle stop @ traffic light, you will the engine revs but the vehicle either doesn't move or move very slow. In either case, relasing gas and pressing again remediate the situation. This occasional can produce a dangeourous situation and put lives to risk. 2) the second issue is regarding Active Driving Assist System ADAS, also occasionally when the system is all green, steering wheel and all, and ahead of me there is 1/4 of a mile to red traffic light and the road is open for me. I am driving about 50 miles, now approaching the stopped traffic, and suddenly the vehicle start to speed up when it was slowing down for the traffic a moment ago. Something very unusual, I abruptly press the brake to force manual stop. The car then doesn't show this symptom for a few days but occasionally it comes back again.

There is an issue that according to a document that the dealer gave me and is related to Rear Camera Component Fault Stored In The Radio (Code e B21 7A-9A) They say they have no solution to the issue. When placing the change of the vehicle in reverse, the radio does not project any image, it is a high vehicle and the visibility is somewhat poor.
