Fuel System. When I fill the gas tank completely the car will stall within a minute or two. I lose power steering, break booster. I can restart and the car will operate correctly. This has been happening for some time.

Cannot fill gas tank correctly. 30 seconds at a time due to gas tank roll over vale failure according to everything we have found on this issue with other owners. This is a serious problem that needs to be recalled. It cost around 800.00 to replace gas tank.. Please investigate issue and respond to [XXX]. After filling fuel tank to full, cranking the ignition, shifting into drive, and beginning propulsion, the engine will occasionally stall. This requires me to stop, shift into park, and restart and rev the engine to prevent it from happening again, which it sometimes does. This malfunction often takes place in high-traffic areas such as intersections or onramps to the freeway.

Every time gas is filled to only the first click to stop or no click at all the car will stall after the fill. THE CAR STALLS EVERY TIME NOT ONCE IN AWHILE BUT EVERY TIME AFTER A FILL START IT UP THEN RUNS REAL RUFF AND STALLS AGAIN. Every time it is filled up. The car stalls while getting on the freeway or street. Dealer state it is the fuel roll over sensor built in the fuel tank. Jeep knows this is a problem they are passing the buck on to the car owners. This is a safety issue when the car stalls. I need to pull over every time this happens and it is every time. They have to fix and recall this safety issue.

Premature shutoff during fueling at gas pump (every two- to three-tenths of a gallon), causing long delays at each fill-up. Previous owners have reported diagnoses by certified mechanics of stuck rollover valves, which have been recalled in other Fiat-Chryslet products but not yet for the Jeep Patriot model.

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at undisclosed speeds, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the subframe was corroded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and test-driven. The independent mechanic placed the vehicle on the lift and determined that there was a hole in the rear cross-body subframe. The contact called the local dealer and was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle could not be repaired under Technical Service Bulletin: 23-012-14. The failure mileage was unknown.

My subframe cracked in half which caused my tire to blow out on the highway. It almost caused me to crash into the gardrail and potentially other cars. My jeep has 110k miles on it and now it’s not safe to drive.

WITHIN 7 YEARS IN A RUST BELT STATE THE JEEPS CROSSMEMBER IS SO RUSTED ITS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE. MY JEEP HAS BEEN SITTING PARKED FOR TWO YEARS BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO REPARE THIS HORRIBLE RUST DAMAGE, ONLY TO FIND OUT THERE HAS BEEN AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS SINCE 2017, I WAS NOT INFORMED BECAUSE ITS NOT A RECALL.. THIS WAS KNOWN BY CHESTER/JEEP SINCE THE 2007 MODEL, I'M GLAD THEY AT LEAST OFFER A 10 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE CROSSMEMEBER, HOWEVER THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. PEOPLE NEED TO BE MADE AWARE THAT THEIR VEHICLE MAY SNAP IN HALF WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING TO THE AVERAGE DRIVER. THIS IS JUST AS SERIOUS AS A SEAT BELT OR AIRBAG MALFUNCTION AND YET THIS ISN'T A RECALL? THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW THEIR VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE, A RECALL IS THE ONLY WAY THAT INFORMATION WILL SPREAD FAST AND FAR ENOUGH TO MATTER AND POSSIBLY SAVE LIVES, NOT JUST A FEW DOLLARS.

IN THE CITY OF KALAMAZOO MICHIGAN, I WAS DRIVING AND MADE IT OVER A CHUNK OF ICE(THE ICE BUILD UP FROM THE PLOW TRUCKS.) IT WAS SIMILAR TO THE WAY TAKING A SPEED BUMP TO FAST WOULD FEEL. WHILE I WAS GOING NO MORE THAN 30MPH OVER THIS CHUNK/BUMP WHEN I HEARD A LOUD CRACK THAT DID NOT SOUND GOOD AND AFTER THAT MY VEHICLE COULD NOT STEER BECAUSE THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED THROUGH MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE BEFORE I HAD TO PULL OVER.

The airbag clock spring fails. They could not find the issue There are no lights or warnings that appear I know another person with a 2012 jeep wrangler and that air bag clock spring was recalled

AFTER CHECKING THE TRANSMISSION HE FOUND METAL FILINGS IN IT AND SAID I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HEARING THIS AS THE JEEP ONLY HAS ABOUT 68000 MILES ON IT. I CONTACTED THE JEEP DEALER IN SCRANTON PA AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I CONTACTED DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION GARAGES AND WAS QUOTED PRICES FROM OVER $3000 TO $6000. READING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLES PROBLEMS WITH JEEP VEHICLES THIS SEEMS LIKE A BIG ONGOING PROBLEM WITH JEEP TRANSMISSIONS.I HOPE YOUR AGENCY CAN HELP US OUT SO WE CAN GET SOME SATISFACTION FROM JEEP.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2014 FROM THOROUGHBRED NISSAN IN TUCSON, AZ A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. NOW THREE YEARS LATER THE TRANSMISSION IS AGAIN SLIPPING AND HAS ALREADY CAUSED STALLS ON THE HIGHWAY. ONE OF THE TIMES THE JEEP STALLED JUST AS I SWITCHED LANES IN FRONT OF A SEMI ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY ,I WAS BARELY ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER AND OUT OF THE PATH OF THE TRUCK RIGHT BEFORE THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER IN CALIFORNIA WHERE I NOW RESIDE AND THEY HAVE INFORMED ME I HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND THERE IS NO LONGER NO WARRANTY. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN THE JEEP TO TWO OTHER PLACES THAT SPECIALIZE ON TRANSMISSION AND THEY HAVE BOTH INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION UTILIZED IN THIS TYPE OF JEEP HAS MANY PROBLEMS AND THAT THEY WOULD RECOMMEND I BUY A NEW CAR ALL TOGETHER AS I AM LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE SIMILAR PROBLEMS IN ABOUT 2-3 YEARS IF I CHOOSE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED, EVEN IF I CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN IT PROPERLY AS I HAVE BEEN. THIS JEEP IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD AND IS ALREADY IN NEED OF IT'S THIRD TRANSMISSION. I HAVE RESEARCHED COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE SEEMS TO BE COMMON IN THESE TYPE OF CARS. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO KEEP ALLOWING THESE CARS TO OPERATE WITH THE CURRENT FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY START TO STALL WITH NO WARNING. I HAD AN EXTREMELY CLOSE CALL AND WOULD HATE FOR ANYONE TO STALL OUT WITHOUT NOTICE GOING FULL SPEED ON A HIGHWAY. MY CAR STALLED MANY TIMES BEFORE ANY LIGHT CAME ON, AND DEALERS AREN'T EVEN WILLING TO REPLACE A TRANSMISSION WITH SUCH LIGHT. PLEASE I URGE YOU TO REVIEW THIS PROBLEM AND FIND A SOLUTION. FIRST TIME 09/2013 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH FROM COLORADO TOWARDS ARIZONA WHEN FROM ONE SECOND TO THE OTHER VEHICLE FORCE DROP SPEED TO 30 MPH AND A TEMPERATURE LIGHT CAME ON ON DASH, PUTTING MY FAMILY AT DANGER SINCE I HAD TO SWERVE AS FAST AS I COULD TO THE SHOULDER BECAUSE SEMI WAS GOING AS FAST AS ME. WHEN I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP THERE WAS NO POWER AND A WHINING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER HOOD. I TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AND LIGHT CAME OFF AND POWER WAS RESTORED BUT AS SOON AS THE TACHOMETER REACH 3000 RPM TEMP LIGHT BACK ON AND LOSS OF POWER CAME BACK. I TURN OFF VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN AND RETURNED TO COLORADO SPRINGS STRAIGHT TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISSION INTERNAL FAILURE 3 YEARS AFTER I PURCHASE BRAND NEW AT 73,687 MILES ON ODOMETER. POWER TRAIN WARRANTY COVER THE CVT REPLACEMENT AND FOUND OUT THAT 100'S OF PATRIOTS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. FAST FORWARD 3 YEARS LATER 2/2017 WHINING NOISE CAME BACK LIGHT CAME BACK BUT NO WARRANTY AND UNFORTUNATELY DEALER ESTIMATES $6000.00 REPLACEMENT BILL. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH JETCO CVT'S ARE THE PROBLEM AND AFTER MANY COMPLAINS PATRIOTS NO LONGER WITH CVT'S BUT I'M STUCK WITH A NON WORKING WORTHLESS VEHICLE IN MY DRY WAY.

SECOND COMPLAIN ABOUT TRANSMISSION FAILURE. VEHICLE NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION AGAIN AFTER 3 YEARS FROM BEING REPLACED. AS I WAS DRIVING ON I-70 FROM MY HOSPITAL JOB IN THE MORNING RUSH COMMUTE, MY PATRIOT DECIDED TO DROP SPEED FROM 70 MPH TO 30 MPH ON A BLINK OF AN EYE. THIS TIME SINCE I WAS ALONE JUST PUTTING ME IN DANGER UNLIKE THE LAST TIME IN 2013 WHEN IT HAPPEN THAT MY 11 YEAR OLD AND 1 YEAR OLD BABY WERE ON BOARD. I SWERVE TO THE SHOULDER YET AGAIN TO AVOID BEING HIT BY TRAFICC I PROCEED AS I RECALL TO TURN IGNITION OFF AND TRY TO MAINTAIN TACOMETER FROM REACHING 3000 RPM TO AVOID TRANSMISSION SAFE MODE TO KICK IN AGAIN AS I MAKE IT HOME.

Total Erosion of front and rear subframe. Replaced front 2021 rear rot 2023 so bad mechanic shop wouldn’t let me drive it after needing a inspection sticker( couldn’t get). Never was notified for extended warranty about replacing this part. Huge safety issue.

FRONT CROSSMEMBER IS COMPLETELY ROTTED OUT. CHRYSLER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THIS TO 10 YEARS TO INCLUDE INSPECTIONS RATHER THAN RECALL TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. SINCE I BOUGHT THIS JEEP USED I WAS NOT INFORMED THIS COULD BE A PROBLEM OR THAT I WAS ENTITLED TO INSPECTIONS TO LOOK FOR THIS PROBLEM. I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT THIS WAS A CONTROL ARM ISSUE BUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PUT ON THE HOIST, LOOKING AT IT FROM BELOW, THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER HAS NEARLY COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT. NO OTHER PARTS OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS EXTENT CORROSION DAMAGE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT IN MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION OR CHOICE OF SURFACE COATING FOR THIS PART. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHICH CONSUMERS MAY BE COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF, UNLESS THEY WERE THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER. DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY HAD A CUSTOMER MAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM JUST TO HAVE THE CROSSMEMBER GIVE WAY, DROPPING THE THE ENGINE ONTO THE GROUND IN THE PARKING LOT. UNBELIEVABLE! I WISH I HAD PHOTOS FROM WHEN I ORIGINALLY HAD IT ON THE HOIST, BUT I DIDN'T GET THEM. IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW. CHRYSLER INITIALLY SAID THEY WOULD TRY TO OFFER SOME "GOOD WILL" BUT HAVE SINCE REJECTED THIS DUE TO THE $2350.00 ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR. NO WONDER THEY WEREN'T RECALLED. SHAME ON YOU CHRYSLER!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A 10 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE CROSSMEMBERS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WE HAD THE FRONT CONTROLS ARMS AND REAR TOE LINKS REPLACED IN NOVEMBER 2018. UPON GOING TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES, THE LF LOWER CONTROL ARM W/BALL JOINT WERE FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE AND UNSAFE...WE HAD THEM REPLACED IMMEDIATELY FOR SAFETY REASONS AS THE CAR IS DRIVEN HUNDREDS OF MILES A WEEK AND USED 6 DAYS A WEEK AND COULDN'T WAIT UNTIL AN APPOINTMENT COULD BE MADE AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP THAT REPLACED IT ORIGINALLY. WE WERE TOLD IF THE DEALERSHIP HAD DONE THE REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRENTY....WE ARE SEEKING A REFUND FOR THE PARTS UNDER THE WARRENTY ONLY...NOT THE ENTIRE BILL WHICH INCLUDED THE COST OF 2 NEW TIRES THAT WERE A ROUTINE PURCHASE....THE INVOICE IS ATTACHED WITH THE CURRENT WORK, THE ORIGINAL WARRENTY WORK AND THE AMOUNT OF $316.93 IS WHAT WE'RE SEEKING TO BE REIMBURSED FOR., NOT THE TOTAL OF $811.34---THE INVOICE IS BROKEN OUT FOR YOUR REVIEW.

The contact also mentioned that the gear shifter would inadvertently shift out of gear independently. On one occasion, the vehicle was shifted into park and then independently shifted to drive. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR FROM WORK AND THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND WAS UNSTEADY, THE RED LIGHT ALSO CAME ON BUT I DID NOT STOP. UPON ARRIVING HOME THERE WAS BEEPING SOUNDS BUT I HAD MY KEY AND LIGHTS OFF. I PROCEEDED TO THE HOUSE AND THE FOLLOWING MORNING THE CAR WONT START, TRIED JUMP STARTING TO NO AVAIL. CONTACTED JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THE SAID IT WAS WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE AND A NEW KEY NEEDED. I HAVE ALSO SEEN HUNDREDS OF OTHER DRIVERS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. TWO DAYS AGO THE CAR COULD NOT ENGAGE GEAR AND WAS LEFT SHAKING AND AFTER SHIFTING TO A LOWER GEAR IT GAINED CONTROL.

THE SUNROOF ON THE 2010 JEEP PATRIOT DOES NOT SEAL AGAINST THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE ALLOWING MORE WATER INTO THE CABIN THEN THE TWO DRAINS CAN HANDLE. THE DRAINS CLOG EASILY DUE TO THE EXCESS WATER MAKING THE ISSUE EVEN WORSE. WATER ENTERS THE CAR AS THE SUNROOF WATER PAN FILLS UP AND LEAKS OUT OF THE CABIN DOME LIGHT AND DOWN THE SIDES OF THE CAR. WATER THEN ENTERS ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS BEHIND THE DASH RESULTING IN RADIO FAILURE, SHORTING MULTIPLE COMPONENTS THAT PREVENT THE CAR FROM TURNING OFF WITHOUT REMOVING THE IOD FUSE, AND CAUSING THE ENGINE WATER TEMPERATURE TO PEG. DEALERSHIPS HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE SOLUTIONS EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE ISSUE REMAINS AND THEY HAVE BEGUN TO CLAIM IT IT A DRAIN MAINTENANCE ISSUE AND NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.

ANYTIME RAINFALL IS EXPERIENCED, A HUGE LEAK OCCURS COMING THROUGH THE FRONT DOME LIGHT. IT APPEARS THIS LEAK IS CAUSED BY A DEFECT WITHIN THE DRAINAGE TUBES ATTACHED TO THE SUNROOF OF THE VEHICLE. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS, 8OZ-12OZ OF WATER COME SPLASHING DOWN ONTO THE CENTER CONSOLE FROM THE FRONT DOME LIGHT. THIS CAUSES POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE CARS RADIO AND POWER SOCKETS BELOW, AS WELL AS A HUGE VISUAL INTERFERENCE WHILE DRIVING. EACH TIME I AM DRIVING DURING RAINFALL OR SHORTLY AFTER, I MUST HOLD A CATCHING DEVICE (A CUP, ETC) TO CATCH THE WATER MANUALLY WHILE IT IS FALLING FROM THE CEILING, WHICH IMPAIRS MY ABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH JEEP PATRIOTS 2007-2017 AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE. THIS LOOKS TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I WAS WORKING ON BROOKLYN. I GOT OUT OF WORK AT 8 AND THE ROADS WERE BAD AS I WAS GOING DOWN JEFFERSON RD MY CAR STARTED SLIDING SO I JUST LET THE CAR GO BECAUSE I COULDN'T STOP IT IS INEVITABLE. SO MY CAR HIT THE DITCH BY THE CHURCH. THEY CHECKED MY CAR WHILE I WAS THERE AND SHOWED ME THAT NONE OF THE THINGS THAT BUDGET TIRE SAID IT WAS WRONG WAS WRONG. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE EXCEPT THE SUBFRAME. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST AROUND 2500 TO GET IT FIXED WITH THEM BUT THAT TOLD ME THAT I COULD GET A RECALL BECAUSE OF SAFETY. MAIN REASON WHY I TOOK IT TO GET CHECKED OUT WAS BECAUSE OF SAFETY REASON. I DIDN'T WANT TO COST AN ACCIDENT SO I WANTED TO TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION THAT I NEED IT. THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE JEEP DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE A ABLE TO DO A RECALL SINCE IS A HAZARD DRIVING IT LIKE THAT. I TALKED TO THEM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD NO RECALL FOR MY CAR. WHILE DRIVING AROUND 40 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THE JEEP SLOWED DOWN AND STALLED. NO WARNINGS OR INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON AT THAT TIME. SHUT JEEP DOWN AND RESTARTED WAITING A FEW SECONDS BEFORE ACCELERATING. AT THE TIME OF ACCELERATING JEEP STUTTERED A BIT AND THEN DROVE FROM 5 MPH TO 20 MPH WITHOUT ENCOURAGEMENT FROM GAS PETAL. IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BREAK AND CAR STALLED AGAIN. AGAIN RESTARTED THE CAR TO MOVE OFF OF HIGHWAY AND THE THROTTLE INDICATOR LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON. There has already been a TBA service bulletion on this vehicle. It has to do with the front and rear subframes. I just bought this vehicle a couple months ago . The old owner never replaced them so now it's so rusted out that the toe can't b adjusted and the tires are pointing inward horribly wearing the inside tread of tires wear out 90× faster. The subframes about to snap causing the whole rear end to hit the ground

Every time I fill my gas tank it takes 20 minutes to fill it just keeps shutting gas off at handle. I have checked a Jeep forum it says it is a roll over valve in gas tank and entire tank has to be replaced at a cost of around 800.00 to 1000.00 dollars. It also caused engine to run rough and shut off a lot. This is something Jeep should have to repair at their cost not consumers. It has been going on for about 6-8 months and it scare me each time it happens Thank you

I BELIEVE THIS TO BE ENTIRELY UNREASONABLE, FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: 1. A DEFECTIVE PART OR A PART OF VERY POOR QUALITY WAS USED IN THE HEADREST 2. I WAS DRIVING ON A BACK COUNTRY ROAD AND SLIGHTLY TURNED THE WHEEL TO FOLLOW THE CURVE IN THE ROAD WHEN THE WHEEL LOCKED UP. FORTUNATELY, I WAS SHARING THE ROAD WITH JUST A FEW OTHER DRIVERS, IT WAS A SLIGHT BEND IN THE ROAD, AND I WAS ABLE TO USE THE BREAKS. AFTER I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, I HAD TO UTILIZE GREAT FORCE TO TURN THE LOCKED STEERING WHEEL. IT SEEMED LIKE THAT MAYBE LOOSENED IT UP SOME BUT NOT QUITE ALL THE WAY??? THEN, I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES, RESTARTED IT, AND THEN IT SEEMED TO BE OK. AFTER BEING INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ISSUE FOR THIS TO HAVE HAPPEN. THEY SAID THAT FURTHER DISASSEMBLING COULD POSSIBLY LOCATE A PROBLEM. THIS IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING AND HAZARDOUS! I was on the freeway going about 75mph when all of a sudden it lost acceleration I couldn't get it to go more to 35 or 40 mph in and gear. Pulled to the side and let it sit for like 15 mins and it started up normal drove fine for a little bit. Then I went the back way home and didn't go over 50mph and it was fine got home and parked. Next morning went to leave and like 5 miles down the road only doing like 40 mind you. It completely goes out no acceleration just revs. Towed it home now it still starts and goes into gear but won't move just acts like its still in park.

MY 2010 JEEP PATRIOT WAS PURCHASED AT JEEP, DODGE, CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN JAX FL OFF BLANDING BLVD. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE SINCE MAY 2018 AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT IN ALMOST 3 MONTHS DUE TO TRANSMISSION THAT IS TO COSTLY TO FIX. IT BROKE DOWN IN AUGUST 2018, GOT IT FIXED IN OCTOBER 31ST 2018 AND IT BROKE DOWN ON ME AGAIN ON NOVEMBER 3RD 2018. The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while getting a routine oil change at the dealer the mechanic stated that there was a large hole in the subframe due to excessive rusting. The contact was informed that the subframe needed to be replaced. The contact recalled Technical Service Bulletin, NHTSA ID 10140027 (Suspension, Steering) from approximately 5 years ago and inquired if the vehicle could be repaired under the TSB. The contact was informed that the TSB was no longer valid. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the TSB was no longer valid. The approximate failure mileage was 136,560.

I kept hearing an odd click, creek noise from the driver side front end. It sounded like something was hanging or something had broken off. I took it into a shop and it was discovered that the front sub frame was rotted in several places and had broken. When the rear was inspected, it is rotted to the point where you could push your finger through if you tried, and there was a section bent. I can no longer drive this vehicle, and I am still paying on my vehicle. I owe $4,900. The repairs would range from $2,500-$3,000, if it even can be repaired, just for the front. The shop stated there was a recall to fix this issue so I'm reaching out to see if this could be covered or what measures are offered if any in this situation.

THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE GOING 60MPH. IT JERKED SEVERAL TIMES AND WENT INTO LIMP MODE TO 20MPH. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHT AS WELL AS THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WENT ON. I'm concerned the air bags might be deployed creating a major safety issue I've heard there are numerous complaints on TIPM's and that there may be a recall. Is that true?

While driving at highway speed and hitting a small pothole, the vehicle's handling and tracking deteriorated instantly. After that, loud scraping noises were heard when moving the vehicle forward or backwards. After getting the vehicle off the road we found that the Rear Suspension Cross Member rusted out and cracked, causing the rear suspension to be loose. Chrysler extended the warranty on this part due to premature rust for 10 years, but this is a safety defect and it should be handled as a recall and not just a warranty extension.

Sometimes when I turn my steering wheel the air bag light turns on. It does not always stay on and only comes on occasionally, usually when I make a turn. I got the diagnostics tan and the error code B1B02 Driver Airbag squib 1 circuit open. There was recently a couple of recalls (S61 occupant restraint controller and N01 reprogram occupant control restraint module) for my 2010 Jeep Patriot. I believe this issue with the error code I’m receiving is related to the recall issue, especially since the light does not stay on consistently. Dealership confirmed code B1B02 and would cost $972 for part and service.*JB Consumer stated complaint was filed on Sept. 4, 2021.

IN THESE CASES, THE DRIVER IS PUT IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS, AS THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS-UP WHEN THE CAR STALLS. THE CAR IS NEVER "TOPPED-OFF" BUT FILLED UNTIL THE FIRST PUMP CLICK. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE, THE PROBLEM WILL RESOLVE AND THE VEHICLE WILL RUN FINE UNTIL THE NEXT FUELING. THE VEHICLE IS A 2010 JEEP PATRIOT LATITUDE, TRAIL RATED MODEL. APPARENTLY STRUCK A ROCK WITH THE TAILPIPE WHICH CAUSED THE MUFFLER TO MOVE UPWARD, RESULTING IN THE MUFFLER GETTING CAUGHT ON THE MUFFLER HANGER MOUNTS. THIS ALLOWED THE TAILPIPE OUTLET TO REST ABOVE AND ON THE INSIDE OF THE BUMPER COVER FASCIA. DAMAGE TO MUFFLER AND TAILPIPE WAS COSMETIC, BUT HEAT FROM THE EXHAUST CAUSED THE BUMPER TO MELT AND CHAR. CANNOT BE CERTAIN IF THERE WAS ANY FLAME OR FIRE AS OTHERS HAVE REPORTED. WE ATTEMPTED TO DISLODGE THE MUFFLER BY HAND, BUT IT IS TOO TIGHTLY WEDGED IN. ROAD HAZARDS ARE A FACT OF DRIVING, AND DRIVERS SHOULD DO THEIR BEST TO AVOID THEM. HOWEVER, LIGHT TO MODERATE IMPACT TO A MUFFLER SHOULD NOT CAUSE A SITUATION WHERE A HOT TAILPIPE CAN COME IN CONTACT OR CLOSE PROXIMITY WITH ANY PLASTIC PARTS (SUCH AS THE BUMPER COVER) THAT COULD MELT, CHAR OR POSSIBLY IGNITE. 2010 JEEP PATRIOT. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FRONT TIRES CONTROL ARM FAILURE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED DURING A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, HE WAS INFORMED THE TIRES WERE SEVERLY WORN AND THE CONTROL ARMS WERE CATASTROPHICALLY FAILING. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED, DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE CONTROL ARMS.

I HAVE A 2010 JEEP PATRIOT SPORT WITH 50000 MILES ON IT. I ALSO HAD THE DEALERSHIP INSTALL AN AUTO START FOR WINTER MONTHS TO WARM UP CAR. I DROVE THE CAR ON DEC 7 FOR 10 MILES TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF 40. I STOPPED HOME FOR 15 MINUTES AND WHEN I RESTARTED MY CAR A RED FLASHING LIGHTNING BOLT LIT UP ON MY DASH WHICH WAS THE THROTTLE ACCOMPANIED BY THE OFF ROAD TRACTION CONTROL. I BACKED OUT THE CAR AND IT WAS SHAKING AND LOUD. I DECIDED TO DRIVE ANOTHER VEHICLE A FEW DAYS LATER I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TAKING THE BACKROADS AND IT WOULD NOT GO OVER 20 MPH AND SHOOK FREQUENTLY. I WAS CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY. I HAVE A LIFETIME POWERTRAIN ENGINE WARRANTY AND THOMAS DODGE DEALERSHIP IN HIGHLAND, IN IS NOT COVERING UNDER WARRANTY. THEY STATE THE THROTTLE IS NOT A COMPONENT OF THE ENGINE OR POWER TRAIN. THE COST OF REPAIR IS $690. I WAS WONDERING IF ANY RECALLS EXIST ON THE CHRYSLER, DODGE AND JEEPS IN REGARDS TO THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY AND TO CONSIDER MY MODEL, MAKE AND YEAR. *TR

JEEP SEEMS TO GET REVVED UP AND GETS STUCK THERE, AND I CAN'T SEEM TO STOP IT SHORT OFF SHUTTING IT DOWN. LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON 10/8/12 AS I WAS GETTING ON FREEWAY. I WAS NOT GOING MORE THAN 30 MILES AN HOUR WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT REVVED UP TO ABOUT 5. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK FOOT OFF GAS IT DID NOT GO DOWN, EVEN AFTER TAPPING BRAKE. ALSO, EVEN AFTER GIVING GAS AGAIN, COULD BARELY GET IT TO MOVE SO I COULD GET TO SIDE OF ROAD,(THANK GOODNESS NOBODY WAS BEHIND ME) AS I COASTED OVER AND SHUT IT DOWN RIGHT THERE, AFTER RESTARTING IT WAS FINE. MY MOM AND SISTER WERE WITH ME AND CAN VERIFY WHAT HAPPENED. THIS HAS ACTUALLY HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE, BUT NEVER WHEN ENTERING FREEWAY! THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS 2010 AND I CALLED DEALER RIGHT AFTER INCIDENT,(ACTUALLY SHUT JEEP OFF AND CALLED RIGHT AWAY), DON'T THINK THEY BELIEVED ME. JEEP ALSO FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL (MORE OFTEN THIS YEAR), ESPECIALLY AT LIGHTS, HAVE TO GIVE IT GAS WHILE WAITING. I MENTIONED THIS ALSO AT LAST OIL CHANGE AT DEALER, NOBODY SEEMS TO THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A WIRING HARNESS HAD MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,749 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

WHEN I GET UP TO SPEEDS BETWEEN 50-60MPH, I FEEL OUTSIDE AIR COMING THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN. THIS WINTER IT'S BEEN EXTREMELY COLD AND I'M NEEDING TO MOVE MY HANDS TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID THE COLD AIR LEAKING IN. WHEN I MAKE SHARP TURNS BETWEEN 25-45MPH, I GET MORE COLD AIR COMING IN AS IF I OPENED A WINDOW. I NEED TO CRANK UP THE HEAT IN ORDER TO AVOID GETTING COLD MYSELF. I AM FORCED TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL A CERTAIN WAY TO AVOID THE COLD AIR. I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP WHO SAID OH IT'S THE WINDSHIELD, SO THEY REPLACED THAT. IN THE MEANTIME I DROVE A 2011 CALIBER HOME AND IT WAS EVEN WORSE, THERE WAS SO MUCH AIR LEAKING OUT FROM THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE SUN ROOF WAS LEAKING AIR AS WELL. I TOLD THIS TO THE MANAGER (JERK) [XXX] WHO SAID WELL THAT'S THE WAY THEY ARE MADE. WELL IT WASN'T THE WINDSHIELD, THE MANAGER [XXX] AT ROBERSON SAID THAT'S HOW THE VEHICLES ARE MADE. I REALLY THINK THIS IS FACTORY DEFECT, THERE SHOULD BE NO OUTSIDE AIR COMING INTO A 2010 JEEP PATRIOT AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED UNLESS A WINDOW IS OPEN. I AM VERY UPSET THAT I EVEN BOUGHT THIS JEEP, BECAUSE BOTTOM LINE SERVICE MEN ARE MEAN. WHEN I SAT AT ROBERSON WAITING FOR MY JEEP THERE WERE 3 OTHER WOMEN WAITING FOR THEIR VEHICLES AND THEY HAD COMPLAINTS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE I'M BEING FORCED TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL A CERTAIN WAY, CRANKING UP THE HEATER FULL BLAST TO COUNTER ACT THE COLD AIR LEAKING IN(CREATES A LOUD NOISE UNABLE TO HEAR TRAFFIC) AND MY THIGHS ARE FREEZING BY THE TIME I GET TO WORK.
