After I filled up my tank, I drove and turned onto a busy highway. As I was turning, it felt like my car went into neutral. I had to take my foot off of the gas and looked to see if the shifter switched gears, but it was still in drive. After about 10 seconds it shifted into gear. If I did not wait for the road to be clear I could have gotten into a major accident.

The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the failure persisted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the shifter assembly tower lever. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 86,000.

2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk has a failed PTU being repaired at a cost of $3500. There are only 41,000 miles. In 2022 while still under warranty I had it in for shifting hard problems. I was told it was the thermostat which they replaced. I didn't take it back to Jeep until May,2024 due to it was only shifting hard sometimes and I figured they would not do anything. I took the car in due to hard shift and tire pressure light being on a day after it came on. Jeep fixed, a day later it came back, Jeep fixed. When I got home, TP light on again. Now they tell me the shifting is a different problem because the computer says DTC code went off a month ago saying there was a problem (and claim I have to bring in within a week). No warning lights or messages other than the tire pressure light which is still being fixed. Also see SB#21-025-19

The contact stated that the cabin of the vehicle smelled of gasoline. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not towed, the contact drove the vehicle to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed, but no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

The 2015 Jeep Renegade has had a vibrating sensation since I purchased it used in 2021 from an auto dealership. The vibrations got stronger as time went on. The issue was finally determined what caused the vibrations in May, 2025 and confirmed by an independent mechanic. The vehicle was inspected by a Jeep dealer previously. The vehicle was not inspected by the police or insurance representatives. The auto needed a new Engine Motor Mount. A new one was installed on the front right side, engine mount. The auto is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk because a failed mount leads to excessive engine movement, which can damage other components, affect handling, and lead to accidents.

I have a U90 recall on my vehicle. I have contacted Jeep dealerships and the Jeep Corp Regarding this issue. I have been told that the parts are on back order and it will be months possibly a year to complete this recall. This is my daily driver and dmv won’t re register the vehicle without the recall being repaired. This is unacceptable. This is my daily driver and has passed smog no issues.

While return home from trip motor started running rough. Took to Dodge dealership they confirmed no compression on #3 cylinder and low compression on #4. The motor was replaced on 7/19/23. Invoice cost of $8946.18.

Vehicle overheating due to non functioning radiator fan. There was a recall on same model, but none listed for my specific vin. unknown as to when symptoms first appeared. vehicle overheats more when car is stopped/in idle.

Motor mounts were damaged and car would shake excessively. got them replaced and they were broken again 3 months later. i have seen several people with the same issue on reddit in jeep renegades models 2015-2016. I was in a fender bender on 8/4/2023 and car was fine for a few days and then it started throwing the engine around again. Mechanic assured me it is not related to accident. file uploaded is of first time I fixed car before the accident

Driver sun visor does not stay up. This is a VERY common occurrence with ALL Jeep Renegades, of all years. This is a safety issue because it either hangs in the line of sight of the driver, or, the driver is blinded by the sun. Jeep quotes the repair from $600-2800. How can they request this of every Renegade driver and NOT issue a recall?

While I was in the vehicle putting a 5 month old child in the car seat I had the door open. My wife was putting stuff in the passenger side door. Not thinking she got the remote start to cool the car off. Obviously the car wouldn’t start because the doors open. She tossed the keys in the center console like she normally does and shut the passenger door. I shut the drivers side rear door after placing the child in the car seat. All doors are locked and the keys are in the car. Unable to gain entry since we are not at home. 911 was called and police and fire showed up promptly and gain entry. The child is fine but we feel this should be addressed. I have been able to recreate the situation multiple times.

MY AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT TOOK IT TO A COUPLE DIFFERENT GARAGES AND THEY SAID IT'S A SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER MIRROR CALLED AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. NOW IT WON'T REGISTER THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE SO IT WON'T LET MY AIR CONDITIONING RUN. THIS JEEP WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS HAPPENING IT'S ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. I HAVE CHILDREN AND CAN'T EVEN USE AIR CONDITIONING IN A NEWER CAR.

My car turns off at random times while driving. This has happened while going down the highway at high speeds and while turning left into a business and everything in between. I am usually able to start the car after waiting five minutes or so and it may or may not turn off again before I reach my destination. I have taken it to the dealership 3 times for this issue with no resolve. The first time I took my car to the dealership was July 14th, 2021 and they determined it was the battery, that did not solve the issue. On December 29, 2022 I took the vehicle to the dealership and on January 09, 2023 I picked it up. They told me my battery cable was loose, that was not the issue. On January 24 I took it back and on February 7, 2023 I picked it up. The dealership replaced the wiring harness, but the issue still remains. Driving down the road at any speed and having the car shut off is a safety risk to everyone around. When my daughter was turning left into a business she was terrified and blocking traffic going both directions and had to be pushed out of the road. While driving down the road I constantly am looking for a plan of action, a place that I can coast off the road if my car dies. The dealership has not been able to recreate this problem. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealership. 60% of the time all of the warning lamps are on, and the other part of the time just the check engine light and battery lamp are on, but this is not an indication of if the car will safely get me to my destination without turning off. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not. I am not the only one who has suffered this issue. Numerous similar incidents can be found from other people on various websites.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. While the contact's husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. The contact stated several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact's husband attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle eventually started. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed shift solenoid number 5 control circuit range performance. The contact was informed that the shift solenoid number 5 circuit range performance needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 83,300.

When starting the car and letting it warm up for 2 minutes. The vehicle shifts hard or takes it time to shift into next gear, and while idling for less than 5 minutes, the car warms up 32 degrees. Which I do not believe the fan motor is working properly. Also took car to dealership blown trans and engine mounts.

Complaint Summary: I brought my 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk (VIN: [XXX] ) to AutoNation CDJR Roseville on May 17, 2025, for the U90 emissions recall. The catalytic converter was replaced, and the PCM software was updated. However, the U0402 diagnostic trouble code (implausible data received from TCM) remains stored. This code has been persistent and prevents the vehicle from passing California emissions, which is required for my registration as the car was transferred from out-of-state. The service advisor initially stated that the TCM was updated, but later corrected himself and admitted the TCM already had the latest version and was not reprogrammed. I have not been given written confirmation that the TCM software or wiring was verified or addressed. I am concerned the dealership is refusing to properly resolve this under recall and is instead recommending a full transmission replacement without supporting mechanical codes or verifying the emissions system software/communication is compliant. I’m requesting FCA’s assistance, and the BAR in California to enforce the complete and proper execution of the U90 recall and resolution of the U0402 code under recall scope. Transmission when driving it sticks in 9 gear. Loss power. Two years ago the value body was replaced, then 2-3 months ago it started the same loss of power dealer checked found nothing said to drive it see if it happens again.Two week ago took it back in to the dealer and they replaced the valve body for a 2nd time. Left the shop a few hours later the same thing happened again. Driving the highway and no power. Took it right back to the dealer on Saturday. Have not heard anything from them yet.The transmission service light goes on and the check engine light.

The vehicle engine has been shaking moderately since we purchased it. The dealer told us that is just the way the vehicle sounds and feels. Recently it has begun to shake more while stopped in traffic or at a light. The dealer told us the engine mount was broken. The vehicle has only 33,354 miles. This is a safety issue as the engine could become dislodged and cause an accident as well as the fluids would be a hazardous materials exposure endangering potential wildlife. Jeep originally told me it was covered under warranty and then later changed their mind. Either way it is a defective part of the power train and dangerous.

When adding fuel at the gas station through vehicle Cap-less fuel fill tube, gas pump nozzle could not be removed without pulling on it which snapped the small thin plastic tabs holding cap-less fuel port in place. According to the manufacturer and repair Shops the entire fuel filler tube system has to be replaced and requires the gas tank to be removed to install the new tube This is a very poor design with poor quality materials and will cause fuel spills and combustion

Jeep Renegade 2015 . THE CAP LESS FUELSYSTEM. Can't physically put gas nozzle into the tank. I even tried the plastic funnel that comes with the jeep and that won't go in either. There are 3 plastic tabs that must be pushed in by the nozzle before the metal flap will release and allow the pump in. Two smaller ones in the upper left/right and one large one on the bottom. Sometimes these can get gummed(or in my case were kinda defective straight from the factory). In 2019 Renegade redesign the gas tank differently so I'm guessing they know about this issue. There are forum on top of forums about this problem. We really need a recall on this. Eventually, I have to exchange my cap less fuel system since I am dreading every trip to a gas station. I can't drive my car if I can't put gas in it.

At 58k miles my check engine light came on and it was determined that it was throwing the code 0456 for a small EVAP leak. I took my Renegade to the dealership for a smoke test and had told them there is sometimes a strong fuel smell when driving. The first smoke test they claimed they couldn't find a leak but noticed a strong fuel smell coming from the rear of the vehicle. They performed one more smoke test and still couldn't find leak. Scheduled another appointment, software update was performed and code was cleared. 2 days later check engine light came back on and when fueling vehicle found gas leaking from the rear wheel well. Took Renegade back to dealership, where it was determined the leak was coming from the fuel filler neck. Paid $500 to have new fuel filler neck installed code was cleared only to come back on the next morning. It was determined it was throwing the same code 0456 for a small EVAP leak. Was advised I would have to have another smoke test done. Idle is really rough when sitting still. It is no longer leaking fuel, but still runs like garbage. Haven't been able to have a forth smoke test done yet because I can't afford it. I have already forked out almost 1k since this started almost 2 months ago. Was advised I should reach out to Chrysler as I have had the vehicle since new and have kept up with all maintenance. Warranty had been expired 4 months prior to this issue.

I recently had the exact problem that was reported under NHTSA ID 11309398. I wanted to report this since if it is happening to me and others, perhaps Jeep will consider a recall to fix this issue. I had to pay over $700 for parts and labor (my warranty expired 2 months before this happened!). It's a pretty annoying manufacturing/quality issue. I've never in 50 years of driving had this happen on any car. Issue described below. The cap leess fuel filler broke. I was filling up the fuel tank and when I went to remove the fuel nozzle from the tank, the cap less filler neck came out with the nozzle. Basically fell out. And there was no obvious way to repair it. I had to replace the entire mechanism since I don't want fuel sloshing out of my tank.

I purchased in 2015 (Jeep Renegade). The dealership promised a “lifetime warranty” for the duration of my ownership, but despite repeated service visits over the past 10 years for persistent electrical problems, they have refused to honor this warranty. It has come to my recent attention that the two major reasons jeep has stopped making the Renegade was due to electrical and engine issues. Both issues with my car never told to me, and games are being played. Key points: I have complete documentation: purchase receipts, service records, text messages, and emails confirming the warranty and the repeated service attempts. The dealership now claims they have no record of my purchase. I was assured by a service representative that the issues were covered under warranty so I brought it there time and time again. The last time I brought it in the representative was working on it under warranty, but the representative was later terminated while still working to resolve the problem. These service manager, Keri has played games to avoid repairs and has even tried to tell me that I didnt buy my car there when I have proof I did. She said my receipts mean nothing and aren't proof. Its been a non stop headache for almost 10 years when all they had to do was be honest from the beginning. This car has had these problems on and off since 2017 and caused the dealer to have to replace the engine due to this parasitic draw. Each time pretending to fix it and not doing so. These issues have caused significant inconvenience, expenses, and emotional stress over a decade. I would like to explore: Enforcing the lifetime warranty and having the electrical issues properly fixed free of charge Pursuing remedies under Tennessee’s consumer protection laws for unfair or deceptive trade practices. Discussing compensation for damages resulting from the dealership’s repeated failures to repair the vehicle. I am fully prepared to provide all documentation, a detailed timeline of events

IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS MY JEEP HAS STALLED THREE TIMES. EACH TIME I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR EASILY AND THEN START DRIVING ONCE I SLOWED DOWN TO STOP SIGN OR TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. IN ONE INSTANCE I WAS ABLE TO GET MY CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PUSH OFF TO THE SIDE OF THOSE QUICKLY TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY. BUT IN ANOTHER I WAS IMPEATING TRAFFIC AND IT WAS VERY UNSAFE. I'VE HAD DIFFICULTY IN JUMPSTARTING THE ENGINE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE.I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR AND CHECKING THE REST OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH SEEMS FINE BUT THIS ISSUE KEEPS COMING UP AND THE CAR KEEPS STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.

In January 2023 and April 2023, a recalled was serviced on. The recall of W80 Oil Consumption Inspection. Was performed twice. So many times I have put the 2015 Jeep Renegade in the service shop countless times. I was in the shop for over a month the oil pressure light comes on every 5 to 30 seconds. I have taken it to another service shop however, they suggest I take it back to the original service shop who original service the Jeep.

Battery went dead, vehicle was jump started as per guide protocol, then vehicle would not shift out of Park. Had to use Emergency towing and release the shift with the shift lever override as described in the manual. Vehicle will now only go into gear with screwdriver, but it still will not recognize it is in gear and will not move. Warning lights of service transmission. Battery changed, vehicle is just sitting, there is NO explanation as to what to do, dealerships have no clue. Vehicle will roll and cause an accident if not propped behind the tires. Through Jeep forum, it is noted that this is an ongoing issue with this specific year/make/model. The "fix" is over $2000, it should be a recall and the manufacturers responsibility since it is a known issue. Jeep USED to be a reliable, dependable brand, unfortunately, this is the last one we will ever own.

"TAKATA RECALL". MY KEY KEEP GETTING STUCK IN IGNITION AND MY JEEP WILL NOT GO INTO ANY GEAR. IT WILL SOMETIME CRANK, BUT IT TAKE FOREVER TO GET THE KEY OUT. MY JEEP IS STILL NEW AND IT IS MY OWN MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. IT IS AT 40 THOUSANDS MILE. .NO MATTER WHAT I DO I CAN NOT GET IT TO LEAVE OUT OF PARK.

I HAVE A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE I PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT IS 5 YEARS OLD WITH 78123 MILES AND THE REAR SEATBELT LATCHES HAVE STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP HAS SAID THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS DEFECT FOR FREE (THEY SAID IT WILL COST $167 JUST TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT) EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED DEFECT IN A PART OF THE CAR THAT HAS BARELY BEEN USED; I ALMOST NEVER HAVE PASSENGERS SIT IN THE BACK SEAT AND THE LATCHES ARE CLEAN (NO FOOD PARTICLES OR DIRT OR ANYTHING IN THEM). WE ARE ABOUT TO HAVE OUR FIRST CHILD AND KNOW THAT IF THE REAR SEAT BELT LATCHES ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY, WE CAN'T OFFICIALLY COMPLY WITH THE VA SEATBELT LAWS AND CAN'T SAFELY STRAP OUR CHILD CAR SEAT INTO THE VEHICLE. WE ALSO CANNOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS SIT SAFELY BELTED (OR BELTED AT ALL) IN THE BACK SEAT. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT HOW PRICEY THE SEATBELT LATCH REPAIRS ARE GOING TO BE, WHEN IT SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY DEFECT THAT THE MANUFACTURER/ DEALERSHIP SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR. I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT I'M THE ONLY PERSON WITH A JEEP RENEGADE THAT HAS HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR SEAT BELT LATCHES NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I'VE ALREADY CHECKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURER AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING IN ANY WARRANTY THAT COVERS THE SEATBELTS. THERE WAS NO MAJOR EVENT THAT AFFECTED THE SEATBELTS, I JUST HAD TO SIT IN THE BACKSEAT ONE DAY AS A PASSENGER AND REALIZED THE LATCHES WEREN'T WORKING. I'VE FOUND INFORMATION: " NHTSA HAS THE AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE MANUFACTURERS TO REPLACE SEAT BELTS UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES. IF A VEHICLE OR ITEM OF EQUIPMENT IS NOT MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND IS DETERMINED TO HAVE A SAFETY RELATED DEFECT OR FAILS TO MEET AN APPLICABLE FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD, NHTSA CAN COMPEL THE MANUFACTURER TO REMEDY THE DEFECT OR NONCOMPLIANCE WITHOUT CHARGE TO THE VEHICLE OWNER." BOTH SEATBELTS IN THE BACK SEAT ARE STUCK AND WON'T RETRACT. THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED WORKING IN JUNE 2019 AND THE DRIVERS PASSENGER SISE STOPPED WORKING FEBRUARY 2020.

BUCKLE MECHANISM DOES NOT ALLOW SEATBELT TO BE INSERTED OR LOCKED. UPON INFORMING A JEEP DEALER, THEY WILL NOT REPLACE WITHOUT FULL CHARGE FOR BUCKLE AND LABOR. THEY STATED EVEN MANUFACTURING DEFECTS ARE NO LONGER COVERED AFTER BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. UPON CONTACTING CHRYSLER TO REQUEST FOR THE SEAT BELT TO BE REPAIRED AS THIS IS A SAFETY ITEM AND REQUIRED TO UTILIZE THE VEHICLE ON ANY ROADS; ITS INTENDED PURPOSE, WAS DENIED BASED ON BUMPER TO BUMPER IS ONLY 36 MONTHS OR 36,000 MILES.

Shifter won't work (won't move out of park) after battery dies. My vehicle's battery died at the end of April, we assumed it was just an old battery and had it replaced by AAA. Last week, the battery died again (this also co-occurred with the key fobs not working...if that's helpful). After AAA charged it, we turned it on but it wouldn't shift out of park. We followed the manual instructions to manually shift it into Neutral but then we couldn't turn the vehicle off. Eventually it was towed to the dealership while it was still running...and they said that it needs a new shifter (+$1300)?! THE ELECTRONIC EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT DISENGAGE USING THE BUTTON, BY DRIVING FORWARD OR REVERSE OR BY THE OVER ROSE SUGGESTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. TOW TRUCK DRIVER EVEN CALLED DODGE TO SEE IF I WAS BY ANY CHANCE UNDER A RECALL YET. SEEMS LIKE THIS PART IS FAILING A LOT. MY RENEGADE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 30,000 MILES YET. WHEN I BRAKE IT SOUNDS LIKE METAL IS CRUSHING TOGETHER, IT IS THE WORST SOUND AND IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE,SO I BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN, AND WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN THIS LAST TIME I MADE A SERVICE TECH GET IN THE CAR WITH ME AND HE AGREED THAT WAS NOT RIGHT AND THEN THE NEXT DAY HE CALLS ME AND SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG EVERYTHING LOOKS PERFECT. THIS VEHICLE HAS NO MECHANICAL PARKING BRAKE, WHICH WOULD SEEM TO BE A VIOLATION OF CFR-2010-TITLE 49-VO L5-SEC 393-41. THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE IS PRETTY WELL USELESS, AND NECESSARY SINCE THIS VEHICLE HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, AND A TINY (1.4L) ENGINE INCAPABLE OF HOLDING THE CAR ON A STEEP HILL. ERROR MASSAGE ABOUT ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE PROBLEMS KEEP POPPING UP, THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIX IT DESPITE MANY REPEATED ATTEMPTS. EVEN WHEN WORKING, IT CANNOT BE USED TO TURN THE CAR ON SNOW, ICE., ETC. AS I SAID: USELESS.

Received warning that rear drivers side taillights, reverse light, parking light, and turn signal were out. Changed all 3 bulbs related and still didn’t work. Looked at the circuit board and connector and the center pin is burned out. Searching Jeep Renegades and this is a common issue with many model years of the Jeep Renegade. This appears to be a defect the manufacturer should be responsible for through a recall.

Rear brake and back up light assembly ground wire shorted and burned out. This caused all of the lights in the assembly to go out and sent multiple warnings to the dash board. This short came close to melting wires and the plastic assembly itself.

Both fog lights have had to be replace due to the inside reflectors getting so hot, the bulbs are melting them with the potential to cause a fire. This vehicle is a 2015 bought brand new and has 52000 miles on it.

The drivers side fog light reflector was melted and charred like it was nearly on fire. There was no silver coating on the plastic reflector and it looks like the plastic was absorbing all the heat of the bulb.

I HAVE SOME 31K MILES IN THE VEHICLE AND IT HAS BEEN GIVEN ME TROUBLES WITH THE WHEELS SINCE THEY AREN'T INFLATED CORRECTLY. WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP, EVERYTHING IS GOOD AND NO NAIL NOR NOTHING IS IN THE WHEEL. BUT WHEN THEY VERIFY THE 'WORM' WHERE YOU INFLATE THE TIRE IT HESISS AND IT GETS BUBBLY SINCE THEY VERIFY THE WHEEL WITH WATER AND SOAP. IT TURNS OUT THAT THE VALVE (WORM) HAS WORN OUT OR SPLITTED - FROM I DON'T KNOW WHERE. PLUS NOW IT IS HAPPENING WITH A SECOND TIRE/WHEEL. WHEN I REPLACE THE VALVE, IF ITS NOT AN ORIGINAL MOPAR PART, THE SENSOR WON'T RECOGNIZE IT. NOW I SPOKE WITH THE TIRE TECHNICIAN AND IT INDICATES TO ME THAT IT SHOULD BE A WEAR OFF DUE TO MANUFACTURES SPECIFICATIONS.

THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ON TOO LONG WHILE THE ENGINE WAS OFF CAUSING A DEAD BATTERY. NO BIG DEAL I THOUGHT... I JUMPSTART THE CAR PER OWNERS MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS (IT HAS A COMPLEX BATTERY SO EVEN THOUGH I'VE JUMP STARTED MANY DIFFERENT VEHICLES I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THERE WEREN'T SPECIAL PROCEDURES, IT ENDED UP BEING PRETTY STANDARD). WHEN IT DIED IT WAS IN A GARAGE SO I HAD TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE GEAR SELECTOR TO PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT INTO POSITION FOR A JUMP CONNECTION. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND LET THE BATTERY CHARGE UP A WHILE. ONCE THE CAR CHARGED UP ENOUGH, IT STARTED RIGHT UP. AT THIS POINT I THOUGHT I WAS IN THE CLEAR, THAT'S WHEN THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. THE ENGINE IS RUNNING FINE, TRANSMISSION WAS FINE BEFORE THE BATTERY DIED. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT I COULD NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE. IT WAS LOCKED INTO PARK. I WAS BLOCKING THE ROAD IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHILE I WAS MANUALLY UNLOCKING THE GEAR SELECTOR, I FINALLY GET THE CAR TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE. ONLY THE ENGINE WOULD REV, NO MOVEMENT. TRY TO REVERSE, SAME THING. AT THIS POINT I COULDN'T GET THE CAR BACK INTO PARK. I PUSH THE CAR BACK INTO THE GARAGE TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY AND GO TO TURN IT OFF. THE RENEGADE (PUSH BUTTON START) WILL NOT LET YOU TURN THE CAR OFF IN ANY GEAR BUT PARK. IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. AFTER STRUGGLING MORE TO FORCE IT BACK INTO PARK, I FINALLY GET IT AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF. I'M LUCKY IT DIDN'T GET STUCK IN D OR R IF IT STARTED WORKING! I'VE NEVER HAD SUCH AN EXPERIENCE JUMPSTARTING A CAR AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. LUCKILY I WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO PUSH THE CAR BACK OUT OF THE WAY, OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE STUCK THERE INDEFINITELY UNTIL A TOW CAME. I'VE READ NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS IN ONLINE FORUMS. THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES, THE ENGINE LIGHT MAY OR MAY NOT COME ON. A HOST OF NEW ELECTRICAL MESSAGES MAY OR MANY NOT POP UP. I HAVE HAD LIGHTS STOP AND START WORKING. THE CAR CUT OFF WHEN MAKING A TURN AS THE CAR IS BURNING INSANE AMOUNTS OF OIL. IT IS NOT THE DEPENDABLE VEHICLE I HAD HOPED FOR. I UNDERSTAND SOME ISSUES HOWEVER THERE APPEARS TO BE A NEW ONE ALMOST WEEKLY. I HAVE HIRED A LAWYER TO INVESTIGATE MY CASE S THIS THE ABSOLUTE WORST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED. THE CAR JERKS LIKE SOMEONE IS SMASHING INTO THE BACK OF YOU WHEN GOING 15 MPH OR LESS. IT LOSES POWER AND HESITATES ON TAKEOFF. THE CAR SUFFERS FROM MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND I FEEL THIS IS A CASH COW FOR THE MANUFACTURE TO KEEP OWNERS SERVING THEIR VEHICLES ON A REGULAR BASIS. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. MANY OWNERS GIVE THE SAME COMPLAINTS AND THE SAME ISSUES, HOWEVER NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO LISTEN OR HOLD THE MANUFACTURE ACCOUNTABLE.

WITHIN A MONTH, AND AFTER REPLACING THE FUSE 3 TIMES, THE FAN MOTOR STOPPED WORKING AND BURNT UP COMPLETELY. ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER FAN, AND IT BLEW THE FUSE AGAIN AND BURNT UP THE NEW FAN MOTOR ALSO. ALSO, WITHIN THE LAST MONTH (TODAY BEING 9/20/2018) MY CAR HAS BEEN JUMPING AND SHAKING WHEN IN DRIVE MODE. MAINLY OCCURS AFTER SPEEDS OF 40+ MPH HAVE BEEN REACHED AND WHEN VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR A LONGER LENGTH OF TIME.

VEHICLE VIN: [XXX], JEEP RENEGADE, 57000 MILES I PURCHASED A JEEP RENEGADE FOR MY WIFE AT [XXX] IN KILLEEN. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, THE DEALERSHIP RAN INTO A VIN ERROR THAT WE WERE TOLD WAS FIXED, BUT IT NEVER WAS BECAUSE WE REMAIN HAVING ISSUES WITH INSURANCE. I WORK IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND LOOKED UP NHTSA DOCUMENTATION THAT SAYS THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER UPON FINDING A DISCREPANCY AND APPARENTLY THIS WAS NEVER DONE. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO TOLD US THE JEEP WAS IN A MINOR ACCIDENT AND WE FOUND OUT THE CRASH WAS WORSE THAN MINOR, THE VEHICLE HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND ONLY ONE KEY FOB. WE WERE PROMISED ANOTHER KEY FOB MADE, BUT HAVE JUST GOT THE RUNAROUND SINCE PURCHASE. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT LOCK SOMETIMES AND WE ARE WORRIED IT WILL NOT UNLOCK DURING AN EMERGENCY. THE VEHICLE CONTINUALLY TELLS US THE KEY FOB IS NOT IN THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE STATIONARY. THE JEEP ALSO HAS TRANSMISSION ISSUES WE WERE NEVER TOLD ABOUT. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT RESPOND TO THESE ISSUES AND I NEED TO FIND SOMEONE TO HELP. I HAVE GONE UP THERE AND SPOKE TO THE MANAGER AT SALES AND AT PARTS/SERVICE. I GOT UP TO GET READY TO GO TO CHOIR REHEARSAL MY JEEP WOULD NOT CRANK, AND THE KEY WAS STUCK IN THE SWITCH, IT TOOK ALMOST 30 MINUTES TO GET THE KEY OUT, FINALLY THE JEEP CRANKED BUT I COULD NOT GET THE GEAR TO GO INTO REVERSE, DRIVE OR NOTHING, AND ON THE DASH BOARD WHERE IT TELLS YOU HOW MANY MILES YOU HAVE ON THE AUTOMOBILE IT WAS BLINKING AND ALSO ON THE DASH BOARD IT SAY SERVICE TRANSMISSION.. I HAVE READ ON YOUR SITE AS I WAS SEARCHING TO FIND OUT WHY THIS IS HAPPENING, SO MANY OF THESE JEEP SEEM TO DO THIS WHEN THEY REACH 40 THOUSAND MILES. BOUGHT RENEGADE SPORT FWD APRIL 28, 2015. 1. DOOR LOCKS/KEY-FOB STOPPED WORKING BY JUNE 1ST. TOOK TO DEALER, SAID CHRYSLER KNEW OF ISSUE, TRYING TO GET A "PERMANENT" FIX, BUT A TEMP FIX WAS TO RE-SET THE COMPUTER SYSTEM; THEY DID AND IT LASTED LESS THAN 2 HOURS. HAVE TO USE KEY TO UNLOCK DRIVER DOOR, THEN REACH AROUND AND UNLOCK/LOCK THE OTHER 3 DOORS BY HAND ONCE INSIDE THE CAR. "LUCKILY", THE KEY-FOB STILL LOCKS/UNLOCKS THE REAR LIFT GATE. 2. REAR WIPER BLADE TURNS ON RANDOMLY WHEN FRONT WIPERS ARE ON. ONLY WAY TO STOP THE REAR WIPER IS TO TURN OFF THE FRONT WIPERS, WAIT A FEW SECONDS, THEN TURN THEM BACK ON. 3. CAR SAT FOR 3 DAYS (JULY 15-17), AND BATTERY COMPLETELY DRAINED/DEAD. KEY STUCK IN IGNITION. CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE, THEY TRIED TO JUMP IT WITH A JUMP-BOX, JEEP WOULDN'T TURN OVER, SO HAD TO JUMP WITH THE TOW TRUCK'S BATTERY CONNECTED TO JUMPER CABLES AND AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, THE ELECTRICAL GADGETS STARTED TO WORK, AND SEVERAL MINUTES LATER ON THE CHARGE, IT FINALLY TURNED OVER. 4. CAR TRANSMISSION "JERKING" WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY (APPROX. 5 MPH). THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.

WHILE DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS, A TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT FOLLOWED BY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED ON THE DASH. I FIGURED IT WAS A MAINTENANCE WARNING. THE FURTHER I DROVE, IT BECAME APPARENT THAT I WAS LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. IN THE MOUNTAIN RANGE THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE AND IT WAS DARK AS WELL AS FEARFUL DRIVERS WOULD COME UP BEHIND ME ON A CURVE WITHOUT MY ABILITY TO GO HWY SPEEDS, LEAVING ME TO FEEL VERY UNSAFE. THE FURTHER I DROVE, THE LESS ABILITY I HAD TO ACCELERATE. BY THE TIME I REACHED THE FREEWAY, MY ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WAS VERY COMPROMISED. WHEN I REACHED THE FREEWAY, IT WAS CONGESTED, PLAYING IN MY FAVOR SINCE I COULD NOT ACCELERATE WELL. WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP, THE ENGINE WAS GETTING UP TO 2000+ RPMS TO GO 15 MPH. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY THE JEEP EXTENDED, BUT SINCE THIS INVOLVES 'THE BRAIN OF THE TRANSMISSION' IT IS NOT A COVERED REPAIR.

I SENT 1 SERVICE RECORD. I HAVE 3 MORE IF NEEDED. JEEP STILL IS UNSAFE I WAS ON A BUSY STREET AT 5PM AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I PUT FOOT ON GAS THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE THEN IT STARTED OUT INCHING AWAY AND FINALLY GOT MOVING.IT TOOK AT LEAST 8 OR 10 SECONDS TO GET PASSED THE GREEN LIGHT AND THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS WAY TO CLOSE AND COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT 4 OR 5 TIMES AND ALL THATS BEEN DONE IS UPDATES AND REPLACED A VALVE BODY PART. I HAVE AN ATTORNEY AND FILED SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER. THIS JEEP IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY DONT CARE. THEY ARE GOING TO WAIT TIL SOMEONE DIES THEN THEY WILL GET ON THIS ISSUE. HARD SHIFTS IN THE FIRST FEW GEARS ( HARD JURKS) AND ALSO CLUNKS.. WHEN MOVING SHIFTER INTO AND OUT OF PARK, NUTERUAL, REVERSE AND DRIVE IT CLUNKS.. HESITATES TO SHIFT WHEN STOPPED OR SLOW MOVING. WHEN ON HIGHWAY HAS ALOT OF DRAGGED HAS HARD TIME KEEPING SPEED AND WHEN PASSING IT TAKE THE VEHICLE FEW SECONDS TO SPEED UP, HAVE TO PUSH PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR AND AFTER FEW SECONDS IT FINALLY SPEEDS UP. IN CRUISE CONTROL ITS CONSTANTLY HAVING A HARD TIME KEEPING ITS SPEED CONSTANTLY JUMPING INTO HIGHER GEARS TO CATCH UP TO THE SET CRUISE SETTING. EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP AND ASK WHATS GOING ON THEY SAY ITS HOW THE JEEP RENEGADE WAS MADE, ITS NORMAL FOR IT TO DO ALL THIS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DEALERS: THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS: CHAMPION CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (4505 WEST 96TH STREET, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46268, (317) 872-6200) AND TOM O'BRIEN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM INDIANAPOLIS (4630 E 96TH ST, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46240, (317) 805-4400). THE TRANSMISSION WAS FLUSHED AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS PROVIDED, BUT THE DEALERS WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THE FAILURES. THE 2015 JEEP RENEGADE HAS HAD ABOUT 800 MILES WHEN THE PROBLEM APPEARED. I WAS DRIVING ON A FREEWAY AT 70 MPH. ALL THE SUDDEN, THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN I PUSH THE PEDAL AS I INTENDED. SO I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AND STARTED DRIVING LOCAL AT LOWER SPEED, AND THE CAR WAS ACTING EVEN MORE WEIRD. THE CAR WAS JERKING AND CAME TO STOP. THE ENGINE WAS ON BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. LUCKILY, IT WAS AT NIGHT TIME AND IN RESIDENTIAL AREA, THERE WERE ONLY FEW CARS AROUND SO THEY COULD DRIVE AROUND. I CHANGED THE AUTOMATIC MODE, 'D', TO THE SEMI-MANUAL MODE. THE FREQUENCY OF THE JERKING REDUCED BUT THE CAR CAME TO A STOP AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 6 MILES TO DROP THE CAR AT A REPAIR SHOP AT A MFG AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS PROPERTY DAMAGE AND BODILY HARM. I WAS LUCKY THAT THERE WERE MANY CARS AROUND AT THE TIME AND THE CAR DID NOT STALL ON THE FREEWAY. I AM NOT AN EXPERT, BUT THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE RELATED TO THE POWER TRAIN (AND SPEED CONTROL POSSIBLY.) I HOPE I AM THE ONLY PERSON WITH THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM MUST BE ASSESSED AND APPROPRIATE ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A REPAIR SHOP AND WILL BE ASSESSED, HOPEFULLY TOMORROW.

THESE INCIDENTS TAKE PLACE ON DRY PAVEMENT. I NOW SEE OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES ARE POSTING COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ON A JEEP FORUM. WHY HAS JEEP / FCA NOT ADDRESSED THIS ? AMONG OTHER ISSUES, THE ENGINE CUTS OUT WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES TO ME, AND ALL APPEAR TO OCCUR WHILE MAKING TURNS AT LOW-MODERATE SPEED (<30MPH); THIS IS THE ONLY CONSISTENT FACTOR WHEN THE ENGINE CUTS OUT (DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE AFFECTED BY WEATHER OR DRIVE/RUN TIME). THE FIRST TIME OCCURRED AROUND 30K MILES - THE ENGINE LOST POWER WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN ON LOCAL STREETS. VEHICLE'S DISPLAY FLASHED A NUMBER OF WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE INDICATING "VEHICLE NOT IN SHIFT TO PARK." ELECTRICAL SYSTEM APPEARED FULLY FUNCTIONAL. I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED MY CAR AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING REMAINED. THE NEXT RESTART REMOVED THE ETC WARNING. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS REMOVED AFTER 4 RESTARTS (WITH REGULAR DRIVING). I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY UPDATED A MODULE AND I HAD TO PAY TO CLEAN THE ETC SENSOR (IT WAS ALLEGEDLY "STICKY" AND TRIGGERING A FALSE WARNING). RECENTLY, WITHIN THE LAST WEEK, THE ENGINE HAS CUT OUT ON ME 4 TIMES. THE FIRST TWO INSTANCES WERE BACK-TO-BACK (ONE ON EXITING A ROUNDABOUT), FOLLOWED BY A RIGHT-HAND TURN @ APPROX. 37200 MILES. IN BOTH INSTANCES I WAS IN THE FAR-RIGHT LANE AND ABLE TO DRIFT TO SAFETY. THE ENGINE STUTTERED UPON TRYING TO PUSH-TO-START BUT I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AFTER FEW ATTEMPTS. THE NEXT MORNING, "OIL LOW" FLICKERED AND "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" LIT UNTIL ENGINE RESTART. OIL WAS/IS NOT LOW. AT 37400 MILES, THE ENGINE DIED WHILE MAKING A LEFT-HAND TURN ON A 5-LANE STREET AT NIGHT. AT 37450 MILES, THE ENGINE DIED IN THE MORNING WHILE MAKING A RIGHT-HAND TURN ON A MAIN ROAD. ALL OF THESE INSTANCES OCCURRED WITHOUT ANY WARNING (OTHER THAN "VEHICLE NOT IN SHIFT TO PARK" AFTER ENGINE CUT OUT) AND WITHOUT LOSS OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.

THE RADIATOR FAN IS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT. IT IS BREAKING DUE TO NOT HAVING A HEAT SHIELD ON IT AND IT IS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT. JEEP FIXES THE PROBLEMS IN THE LATE 2016 MODELS BY PUTTING IN A METAL FAN AND TOOK OUT THE PLASTIC FAN. FEAR OF RENEGADE CATCHING FIRE. VEHICLE OVERHEATS IN THE PARKING LOT.

ON OCTOBER 12TH THE CAR STARTED MAKING AN ODD NOISE DRIVING IN THE CITY (NEVER OFF ROAD). I DIDN'T DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL OCTOBER 14TH AND IT WAS MAKING THE NOISE AGAIN. WE WERE TRYING TO DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THE CAR STARTED SMOKING NEAR THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND WE DRIVE IT TO MY MECHANIC. HE SAID THE FAN HAD STOPPED WORKING. WE CALLED THE ARRIGO DEALERSHIP IN FORT PIERCE WHO SAID I NEED A FAN ASSEMBLY UNIT AND NEEDED TO PAY $263 UPFRONT. THE PART IS ON BACKORDER AND SHOULD TAKE 1-2 MONTHS BUT MAY BE LONGER. ONCE IT IS DELIVERED IT WOULD COST $260 FOR LABOR. SINCE MY CAR HAS 49,000 MILES ON IT AND THE WARRANTY ENDED AT 36,000 THE REPAIR ISN'T COVERED AND NO LOANER CAR WILL BE PROVIDED. ALSO, DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE. WHAT? SO MY MECHANIC CALLED AROUND TO FIND THE PART ELSEWHERE. HE SPOKE TO SCHUMACHER JEEP AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT IS A KNOW ISSUE AND ASKED MY MECHANIC IF HE WOULD LIKE TO BE PUT ON THE WAITING LIST. WHEN HE ASKED HOW LONG THE WAITING LIST IS, THE GENTLEMAN REPLIED THERE ARE APPROX 4700 PARTS REQUEST BEFORE US AND THERE IS NO ETA AT THIS TIME IT COULD BE 1-4 MONTHS. THIS IS UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. I HAVE HAD TWO INCIDENTS OF MY JEEP RENEGADE(9 SPEED AUTOMATIC) STALLING ON ME WHEN STOPPED AND IN DRIVE AND WHEN IN PARK. THE ENGINE WOULD SHUTTER INTERMITTENTLY. I NOTICE THAT WHEN IN PARK THE TACHOMETER WOULD REV UP WITHOUT THE GAS PEDAL BEING PRESSED DOWN. I WOULD HAVE TO PUT CAR IN PARK AT STOPS OR RED LIGHTS TO RESTART CAR AND PUT BACK INTO DRIVE TO GET GOING. EVEN THEN THE CAR WOULD LAG TRYING TO GET BACK UP TO SPEED. IT WOULD SHUTTER WHEN DRIVING AT LOW MPH. THIS IS HORRIBLE AND I AM AFRAID I WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. MY DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT WHEN I HAD THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME( AFTER I DROVE RIGHT OF THE LOT). SO HERE IT IS A MONTH AND HALF LATER AND THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED BUT WORSE THAN BEFORE. I AM TAKING THE CAR BACK TO SERVICE AGAIN. AT 1040 MILES WHILE GOING UP A 7% GRADE IN 100+ DEGREE TEMPERATURES. THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED AND IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER THEN BEGAN 'LUNGING'. DISPLAY SHOWED "PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK PRIOR TO SELECTING A GEAR". AFTER WAITING SEVERAL MINUTES RESTARTED VEHICLE BUT AS SOON AS IT NEEDED TO SHIFT IT WOULD DO THE SAME STALL OUT. THIS EXACT BEHAVIOR ALSO OCCURRED ON THE SAME SECTION (WITHIN 2 MI) OF HIGHWAY AT THE FOLLOWING ODOMETER READINGS: 4811, 5202, 28928, 29580 AND 29623. COMMON RPM'S ARE AROUND 3500 BUT VARIES SOMEWHAT EACH TIME AND USUALLY BETWEEN 50-65 MPH. THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN IN FULL AUTOMATIC MODE AND IS UNRESPONSIVE IF ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH TO MANUAL MODE ONCE IT STARTS. CRUISE CONTROL WAS ONLY USED THE FIRST TIME. I QUIT USING IT AFTER THAT IN CASE THERE WAS ANY RELATION TO THE SHIFT SELECTIONS. THE GAP IN THE MILEAGES INDICATE THE ALMOST ALMOST 3 MONTHS THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAD THE VEHICLE AND THE TIME THAT I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM- COLD MONTHS ONLY. MANY OF THE OCCURRENCES ARE WITH DAYS OF EACH OTHER AND OR AFTER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ALSO EXPERIENCES EXTREMELY HARD LOW SPEED SHIFTS (FROM A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN). Car randomly stalls in park, when reversing, when in drive but brake is being applied, or when first accelerating after putting into drive. Several times now it has stalled when I'm at stop lights. One time it stalled after just tapping the brake while approaching a stop light. That was terrifying because the car was still in motion. Also, car randomly jerks hard when shifting gears. Recently, car doesn't want to shift while accelerating up hills, and RPM's can get up to 4.5 or 5. No engine light or other warnings lights ever come on. I have brought it to my mechanic two times now about the hard shifting and stalling.Have another appointment this week. They can't figure out what's causing it. Nor can they replicate the problem. This can happen a few times a day, then go weeks without an issue. I've seen the same problems from dozens of people on Jeep forums for 2015 -2017 models. No one had a solution, while seemingly getting brushed off by the dealerships about it.

2 WEEKS AFTER BUYING MY BRAND NEW RENEGADE, IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON THE FREEWAY & I HAD TO COAST OVER 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER. A WEEK LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. YOU CAN PUSH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, BUT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE, INSTEAD IT DIES, HOWEVER THE RPM'S GO UP AS HIGH AS THEY CAN GO BUT MY CAR WON'T SHIFT GEARS. NOW IT IS IN THE SHOP (FOR OVER A WEEK), SUPPOSEDLY GETTING A NEW FUEL PUMP, WHICH I DO NOT THINK IS THE ULTIMATE PROBLEM. I HAVE READ ABOUT THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC PROBLEMS AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT KEEPS HAPPENING. THIS VEHICLE BURNS THROUGH OR LOSES OIL TOO QUICKLY, WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING (IN MOTION) WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. IT OFTEN TURNS OFF GOING UP OR DOWN HILL, AND AFTER OR MID TURN (WHAT LITTLE OIL IS REMAINING SHIFTS) ON CITY STREETS. MY CAR HAS TURNED OFF ITSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC MORE THAN A DOZEN TIMES. When I was driving and stopped at a red light, my Jeep automatically shut off. It had the steering wheel warning and air bag warning pop up. I had a message that told me to put my vehicle in Park when I tried to start it back up. I placed it in park and started up the Jeep again. It came back on, but the warning lights remained on. Once I made it home, I safely turned my vehicle off and then restarted it. Once I restarted it, those warnings were no longer on.

My vehicle recently started showing warning/service lights for no reason; airbag, power steering, park lights, coolant, check engine etc. My engine would also keeps running even after removing the keys.. My battery would also be dead the next day (new battery) if battery is not disconnected . Power door locks , also stops working via fob and manual. While driving the power steering would also stops working (very dangerous) as this will prevent you from turning and can cause collision. Engine will start but dies after 5 seconds. I have looked online in jeep forums and this problems appears to be related to ignition switch. The problems the car is having is very identical to those renegade owners posted on line. Other renegade owners got the ignition switch replaced and fixed the problem. As of now, there is no recall for this particular issue but should be investigated. I will be taking my car for recalls and also to include this problem to get fixed. This is a safety matter as it could cause fatality.

I HAVE 20,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER I LEAVE THE CAR FOR TWO MONTH IN THE DEALER FINALLY THEY CALL ME AND SAID MY CAR WAS REEDY AS TODAY MARCH 2018 BUT CONTINUES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM . I AM OF COURSE CONCERNED THAT MY POWER STEERING COULD FAIL WHILE I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE COULD CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENT. The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while pulling the driver’s side door handle, the handle detached from the vehicle. The contact was not able to open the door and had to enter the vehicle from the passenger’s side. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the handle needed to be replaced; however, the contact had to pay out of pocket for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and was aware of similar failures, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage 72,000.

I bought a 2015 Jeep Renegade in October of 2021 (last year) and have experienced the vehicle stalling TWICE in the middle of traffic. I was informed of the recall by Carmax after the deal was drawn up and the vehicle delivered to me on October 4, 2021. I took the vehicle to Class Jeep in Arlington, Texas, (see attached documents) who refused to replace the engine of the vehicle – the reason for the Recall. I have done all that I can do and exhausted every means necessary to have the recall completed and the vehicle replaced or repaired to bring up to operating standard. I currently owe $21,000.00 on a vehicle that is non-operable. Carvana delivered the car with a rotted battery (paperwork attached); and, a faulty brake job (where new brakes had been put on top of bad rotors) which they felt $200.00 should cover the cost for a $1100 brake repair/replacement. Carvana also refused to replace the transmission on the vehicle which they identified as the source of the ‘stalling-out’ in the midst of traffic when the vehicle would not shift gears to accelerate. The justification was because ‘a module is on top of the transmission instead of inside of it’ and it’s not an engine problem; therefore, refused to repair or replace. Essentially, I have been told that the vehicle which is a safety hazard and threat to life is no longer their concern. Please advise – both the dealership and the manufacturer have taken the position that the operating problems of this vehicle is that ‘of the other’s…’ and no one wanting to just take ownership that the vehicle is faulty and fix it, repair it, or take it out of circulation on the market for sell to unsuspecting consumers. Requested Resolution: I am requesting REPAIR or REPLACEMENT of this vehicle; or, buyback with no negative adverse action on my credit worthiness. My choice is not simply, “you can return it” as I was told – which will result in a ‘REPOSSESSION’ appearing on my credit report.

THE LAST THIS THAT HAPPEN ON SATURDAY 6/17/2017 WAS THE SAME THING WITH THE RADIO GOING OFF AND AC NOT WORKING AT ALL AND OVER HEATING. TURN OFF MY CAR AND IT WAS LEAKING FROM THE RADIATOR. SECOND TIME I SEEN IT OVER HEAT AND LOW ON THE RADIATOR. I HAVE COMPLAIN MANY TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP SHIP ABOUT ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS AND THE EMERGENCY BREAK SETTING OFF WHEN I'M ON THE FREEWAY . MY FRONT RIGHT WHEEL COMPLETELY SNAPPED & MY TIRE WAS PERPENDICULAR TO ITS NORMAL STATE. THEY HAD TO REPLACE A HOST OF PARTS INCLUDING THE FR AXLE, STRUT, STRUT MOUNT, MOST OF THE SUSPENSION. ROUGHLY 6MO AFTER THE REPAIRS MY JEEP STARTED HAVING A TROUBLING SOUND & FEELING WHILE DRIVING. UPON GOING OVER ANY KIND OF BUMP TURN REGARDLESS OF BREAKING SPEED, I COULD FEEL & HEAR A PART KNOCKING AROUND LIKE A JOINT WAS HITTING THE WALLS OF ITS BRACKET & IT AFFECTED EVERYTHING ABOUT HOW THE CAR HANDLED ANY CHANGE IN DRIVING CONDITIONS. I WENT TO THE TIRES PLUS I HAVE BEEN USING FOR A DECADE TO DIAGNOSE & THEY RECOMMENDED I GET THE STRUT MOUNT REPLACED BUT CAUTIONED THAT THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS A GUESS AS THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE APART THE SUSPENSION TO SEE IF THE MOUNT WAS INDEED THE CULPRIT. I RECOGNIZED THAT THAT PART WAS REPLACED AFTER THE INCIDENT & IMMEDIATELY SAID WAIT, LET ME CHECK W/MY INSURANCE. I RETURNED TO THE FACILITY THAT DID THE REPAIRS & WAS TOLD THAT MY STRUT WAS 'BRAND NEW' & 'PERFECTLY FINE' BUT THAT MY SHOCKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I SOUGHT A 3RD OPINION - WHO DEDUCED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NEITHER PARTS BUT WAS ACTUALLY THAT MY ALL OF MY SUB MOUNT BOLTS WERE LOOSE & IT WAS CAUSING MY ENTIRE ENGINE TO MOVE AROUND... I WAS LIKE OK, AND WENT HOME, HOWEVER THE ISSUE SLOWLY RETURNED OVER THE COURSE OF 6-8 WEEKS & THEN 1 MO AFTER THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE ORIGINAL REPAIRS I HEARD A LOUD POP/CRACK. MY FRONT RIGHT STRUT COMPLETELY SNAPPED! I CANNOT SHAKE THE FEELING THAT ITS MORE. I WAS DRIVING ON A PAVED HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 50 MPH WHEN I FELT A SLIGHT WOBBLLING SENSATION THAT FELT LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND APPLIED MY BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY VEERED SHARPLY INTO THE ONCOMING LANE OF TRAFFIC. I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK IN MY OWN LANE AND THE VEHICLE VEERED SHARPLY BACK TOWARD MY LANE AND STARTED TO GO OFF THE ROAD. THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED VEERING SHARPLY BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN BOTH LANES AND I HAD NO CONTROL WITH THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAD LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR WHEN IT STARTED VEERING ALL OVER THE ROAD. AT ONE POINT THE VEHICLE WAS TURNING SIDEWAYS AND I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO ROLL OVER. I WAS APPROACHING A SHARP CURVE AND THE VEHICLE WAS HEADED TOWARDS A POWER POLE AND 3 CONCRETE IRRIGATION BOXES. I KEPT TAPPING THE BRAKES UNTIL THE VEHICLE STOPPED, RUNNING OFF THE ROAD NEAR THE POWER POLE, BUT FORTUNATELY DID NOT MAKE IMPACT WITH THE POWER POLE OR THE CONCRETE IRRIGATION BOXES. WHEN I GOT OUT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TRAILING ARM WAS HANGING DOWN AND WAS NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE SUNNY, ABOUT 80 DEGREES AND THE PAVEMENT WAS DRY. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED SINCE I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. I HAD JUST MET ANOTHER ONCOMING VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS PRIOR TO THIS; HAD THE TIMING BEEN DIFFERENTLY I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM HEAD-ON WITH NO WAY TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION. VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN APPROX. 1 MILE TO MY HOUSE AT 5-10 MPH.

THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER VISORS HAVE BOTH LOST THE ABILITY TO STAY FLUSH WITH THE CEILING OF THE VEHICLE. WITH THE MATERIAL OF THE CLOTH ON THE CEILING I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANY TAPE TO SAFELY SECURE THE VISOR. THE VISUAL AREA THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE VEHICLE IS GREATLY IMPAIRED. I WAS QUOTE A $400-$500 REPAIR FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX ONE. WHEN IT ORIGINALLY HAPPENED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE UPLOADED PHOTOS OF THE DRIVERS SIDE HOW IT SITS NOW, PUSHED FORWARD, AND IT HELD FLUSH WITH HOW IT SHOULD STAY. I WAS DRIVING WHEN T ADJUSTED THE VISOR AND IT LOST TENSION.

THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR DOESN'T STAY UP. THIS ISSUE FIRST HAPPENED ABOUT A YEAR AGO. I DEALT WITH IT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE FINALLY BUYING A NEW ONE. HAVING REPLACED IT ONCE ALREADY, I KNEW THIS LIKELY WASNT GOING TO BE A RECALL ISSUE, EVEN THOUGH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT IN JEEP FORUMS EVERY YEAR. NOW, 4 MONTHS AFTER REPLACING IT, IT HAS FAILED AGAIN. THERE ARE MULTIPLE THINGS I DONT LIKE ABOUT THIS VEHICLE, BUT NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE THE VISOR IS CONSTANTLY FALLING DOWN IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.

I BOUGHT MY 2015 JEEP RENEGADE BRAND NEW IN SEPTEMBER 2015 AND BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS RIGHT AWAY. THERE'S A POWER ISSUE WHERE THE CAR WILL JUST SHUT OFF AND LOSE POWER AND THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I HAVE HAD IT JUMPED SEVERAL TIMES JUST TO GET IT MOVING AGAIN. TOOK THE CAR TO SEVERAL AUTO ZONES TO TEST OUT THE BATTERY JUST TO SEE IF I WOULD GET A DIFFERENT RESPONSE BUT EACH CONFIRMED THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BATTERY. IT EITHER COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF OR STOPS PICKING UP SPEED IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY HOUSTON TRAFFIC. YOU CAN FEEL WHEN IT SWITCH GEARS SOMETIMES, IT MAKES THIS HARD AND LOUD POPPING NOISE WHEN IT'S TRYING TO SWITCH GEARS. IT'S ALWAYS DONE THAT. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS IF I'M AT A SLOWER DRIVING SPEED, LIKE TURNING AT A LIGHT, AND THEN ACCELERATE TO PICK UP SPEED, IT EITHER MAKES THAT LOUD POPPING SOUND, OR STRUGGLES TO PICK UP SPEED AND EVENTUALLY STALLS AND/OR LOSE POWER. IT'S REAL SCARY. I'VE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT IT AND HAVE HAD IT CHECKED OUT MANY TIMES BUT NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. VEHICLE JERKED HARD AND IMMEDIATELY LOST PROPULSION WHILE DRIVING 73 MPH ON INTERSTATE. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP AT A REST AREA, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CAR SHUT OFF. WOULD RESTART FOR A FEW SECONDS AND DIE AGAIN. WHEN TRYING TO START IT A MESSAGE SHOWED UP SAYING TO STOP THE CAR WHEN SHIFTING GEARS, THE CAR WAS IN PARK AND NOT MOVING. PARKING BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON WITHOUT APPLYING IT, TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET IT TO GO OFF. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE HAD IT TOWED TO CLOSEST JEEP DEALERSHIP. CAR STARTED FOR THEM THE NEXT DAY AND THEY SAID NO CODES SHOWED UP AND THAT THE CAR STOPPED BECAUSE IT WAS LOW ON OIL AND 200 MILES PAST TIME FOR AN OIL CHANGE. SAID THIS WAS A FEATURE OF THE CAR -IF IT WAS LOW ON OIL IT WOULD JUST DIE SO IT COULDN'T BE DAMAGED BY DRIVING IT WITH LOW, OR NO, OIL, AND THAT NO WARNING LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THEY CHANGED THE OIL, PRONOUNCED IT FIXED AND I GOT IT BACK. 3 DAYS LATER I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A HILLY, WINDY, 2-LANE ROAD, 25 MPH, THE CAR AGAIN LOST PROPULSION, THIS TIME WITHOUT JERKING FIRST. I WAS ABLE TO COAST DOWNHILL TO A WIDE SPOT IN THE ROAD AND STOP. WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A "SERVICE ENGINE" MESSAGE APPEARED. CALLED MY HUSBAND, WHEN HE GOT THERE WE RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT WAS SHAKING LIKE CRAZY AND SOUNDED LIKE A BUNCH OF HEAVY METAL OBJECTS WERE BEING TUMBLED IN A METAL DRUM. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER AS BEFORE. AFTER 2 DAYS THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THAT IT NEEDED AN ENGINE WIRING HARNESS, CAM SHAFT SENSOR, CRANK SHAFT AND SPARK PLUGS, PLUS THE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. WANTED ME TO PAY FOR THE WORK. CALLED MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY, THEY SAID IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED SINCE IT WAS LESS THAN 40 MILES AWAY, SO IT WAS TOWED THERE. STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP AS TO WHAT THEY THINK THE PROBLEM IS, TODAY IS THE 4TH DAY THEY'VE HAD THE CAR.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SPEED WILL SHIFT KIND OF LIKE FROM NEUTRAL TO FIRST AND SO FOR. WHILE ON THE TURNPIKE I TRY TO ACCELERATE BUT IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROMPTLY, IT FEELS AS IF IT GETS STUCK AND THEN IT GIVES A BIG KICK. WHILE AT ANOTHER STOP SIGN ON OTHER DAYS, THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE AND GIVES A KICK AND PROCEEDS TO MOVE IN A SLOW MOTION THEN GIVE ANOTHER KICK AND CONTINUE TO MOVE. IT FEELS AS IF THE SHIFT SHIFTS ON THEIR OWN AND ACCELERATION DOES NOT RESPOND ON TIME. ANOTHER DAY I WAS DRIVING WITH MY CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT AND I WAS AT A STOP SIGN. IT WAS MY TURN TO GO AND AS I SLOWLY ACCELERATED THE VEHICLE WILL GIVE A KICK AND PROCEED TO MOVE SLOWLY. ON ANOTHER INSTANCE, I STOPED AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURN GREEN I PROCEEDED TO MOVE, THE CAR GAVE ANOTHER SLOW KICK AND EVENTUALLY DECIDED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW INTENSE I PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR IT STILL TAKES A WHILE FOR IT TO RESPOND AND AVCTUALLY STARTS ACCELERATING. IT'S BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEMS AND AM GENUINELY SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR I FEEL ONE DAY IT MIGHT NOT ACCELERATE ON TIME ON A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN OR ON THE ROAD. JUST LAST YEAR, LITERALLY 1 YEAR AND 1 DAY AGO WHILE GETTING ON THE INTERSTATE THE CAR BEGAN TO START ITS 'DEATH WOBBLE' AND DRIVERS REAR AXEL SNAPPED, CAUSING THE FRONT TO FOLLOW.. MY KIDS WERE IN THE CAR WITH ME AND WHILE WAITING 2 MONTHS TO HAVE FIXED AND PAYING THE DEDUCTIBLE FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS JEEPS FAULT, HERE WE ARE AGAIN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS.. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL INSTANCES OF OTHERS EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES AND NOT ONLY FEAR FOR MY CHILDREN'S LIFE'S, BUT ALSO FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS ON THE ROAD. The problem is the deterioation of the rubber was unknowable only by experts. Furthermore, I did not consider my experience enough so I had to confirm it with local shops belle tire and a small local shop . However, In my experience other than the visual.To get accurate analysis I need to apply multiple tests, like chemical component analysis to be verified as manufacture deficiency .Those expansive lab resting over my budget. I had replaced all tires on 06-14-2025 with Cooper tires.P.S. Many drivers don't check their tires they just trust a brand .

While I was driving, my sunshade visor fell down as if it were moved to block the sun while I was driving (I did not do it). I immediately pushed it back up because I could not see, it blocked my entire front windshield vision. After pushing it up, it fell back down within minutes. I immediately took it out of the holder and put it to the side. After researching the issue it is a common known issue. Service advisors say "they all do that". My question is, why would such a dangerous issue be widely accepted? Is increased chance of accident and death acceptable when it can be fixed? I have stopped 23 separate people and asked them about their sunvisor and EVERY SINGLE ONE had this same issue (ranging from 2015 to 2020).

Outside Temperature Sensor fail in temperature under 31 degrees which causes check engine light to come on and disables four wheel drive to engage while driving in snowy conditions. Took Jeep to dealership repair cost $600 for a vehicle I’ve only owned for 25 days with 51,000 miles, they informed me that later down the road I will have to repeat this process again because this is a very common expensive problem in Jeep forum.

MY VEHICLE'S PASSENGER TIRE WAS IMPROPERLY MOUNTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. IT HAS LED TO THE ENGINE MOUNTS BECOMING WORN, CAUSING THE CAMSHAFT TO BE WORN AT ONLY 71,213 MILES, AND THE DRIVE SHAFT BECOMING BROKEN. THIS HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY A REPAIR SHOP AND A JEEP DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER SAYS THAT THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE AND ATTRIBUTE IT TO THE TIRE BEING IMPROPERLY MOUNTED BY THE FACTORY. THESE ISSUES HAVE NEVER OCCURRED WITH ANY OTHER NEW CAR WE HAVE PURCHASED FROM A LOT. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING THE CAR WITH MY FAMILY UNSURE OF WHAT OTHER PROBLEM MAY OCCUR.

INTERMITTENTLY, THE POWER STEERING WOULD GO OUT AND SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD COME ON DASHBOARD. AFTER SEVERAL TIMES RESTARTING THE CAR, THE CAR POWER STEERING WOULD CONTINUE TO GO OUT AND LIGHT COME ON. AFTER ABOUT 4 HOURS, THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF ON A CITY STREET, ALL RUNNING LIGHTS AND RADIO STAYED ON, KEYS WERE REMOVED, AND CAR WAS COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE TO KEYS, KEY FAB, OR BUTTONS ON DOOR SUCH AS POWER LOCKS/ WINDOWS. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE.

I HAVE HAD THE JEEP FOR 18 MONTHS, BOUGHT BRAND NEW, AND HAVE IN SHOP AT LEAST 14 TIMES. THE SCARIEST PROBLEM WAS WHEN I PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC, GOT UP TO ABOUT 35 MPH AND THE CAR WENT INTO "LOCKDOWN". CAR PUT ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL, AIR BAGS TURNED OFF, BRAKES DIDN'T WORK, AND JUST ABOUT EVERY OTHER SYSTEM TURNED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AND THE 1ST 3 TIMES, THEY KEPT SAYING IT WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE. TURNED OUT THE ENGINE THERMOSTAT WAS READING IT WAS -40 DEGREES AND THIS CAUSED IT. NOW I HAVE A SERVICE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM WARNING, AFTER HAVING TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES AFTER ONLY 28K MILES. THIS IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO WORK ON LEMON LAW IN FLORIDA, BUT NOW MY JEEP REP IS GONE AND LOOKS LIKE I HAVE TO START THE PROCESS OVER. LEFT FRONT BRAKE PAD, AND SHOE ARE NOT WORN, BUT BECAUSE OF THE PRESSURE FROM THE OTHER WHEEL, NEED REPLACED. SCREECHING SOUND WHEN LETTING OFF THE BRAKE CONTINUES AFTER BOTH SETS OF FRONT BRAKE PADS, SHOES, & ROTORS ARE REPLACED. FAN ASSEMBLY IS LOSE AND HITTING OTHER COMPONENTS, UNFIXABLE. POPPING NOISE COMES FROM EXTERIOR FRONT WHEN STARTING OUT. LETTING OF THE BRAKES FROM AFTER A STOP OR AFTER BEING PARKED MAKES A GRINDING NOISE AS IF CREAKING UNDER PRESSURE. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN SUDDENLY MY BRAND NEW CAR STALLED AND WOULD NOT SHIFT BACK INTO GEAR. THE CAR BECAME IMMOBILIZED AND HAD TO GET TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL VALVE AND DID NOT TEST FOR TRANSMISSION OR ELECTRICAL ISSUES. TWO DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT, SO THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE IN THE CAR BECAUSE TWO UPDATES WERE AVAILABLE. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND IT BROKE DOWN FOR A THIRD TIME, AGAIN AFTER ONLY 2 DAYS. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP AND CHRYSLER IS RELUCTANT TO BUYBACK THE VEHICLE. NOBODY CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG.

I PURCHASED MY 2015 RENEGADE LATITUDE 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE LAST FALL AND FOUND THAT FROM THE BEGINNING AT TIMES I HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING IT INTO GEAR. I'VE BEEN DRIVING MANUAL TRANSMISSION CARS (ALL SEDANS UNTIL THIS) FOR NEARLY 35 + YEARS SO I'M FAMILIAR WITH HOW TO SHIFT ETC. I KNEW AND EXPECTED THAT THERE'D BE A LEARNING CURVE AS EVERY VEHICLE IS DIFFERENT. BUT BY NOW IT SHOULD BE RESOLVED. INSTEAD, IT HAS WORSENED. I HAVE MANEUVERED AROUND THE MINOR PROBLEMS -THOSE AT LOWER SPEEDS-HAVING TO DOWNSHIFT A FEW TIMES WHEN I NEEDED TO UPSHIFT (I RELY ON SOUND AND THE RPMS AS MY GUIDE). THE CAR NOW HAS 6200 MILES ON IT (A MIX OF BACK ROAD DRIVING WITH SUBURBAN STREETS AND SOME HIGHWAY) AND IT IS NOW REVVING UNCONTROLLABLY AT TIMES, THROWING ME OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL, ACTING AS IF ON ICE WHEN THERE IS NONE, SURGING FORWARD WHEN I HAVEN'T ACCELERATED. AND THE ADVERTISED 31/27 MPG HAS NOT HAPPENED. I AM NOW DOWN TO 23 MPG. I WILL BE DROPPING IT OFF TOMORROW FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND FOR THEM TO LOOK AT THIS REVVING PROBLEM AND THE LOW MPG. The Evaporative Emissions System (EVAP system), including components such as the charcoal canister, purge valve, and/or fuel tank venting system, appears to be malfunctioning. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. After refueling the vehicle completely, it will stall or shut off unexpectedly while driving, which could cause a collision, particularly in traffic or at highway speeds. This sudden loss of power places myself, my passengers, and other drivers at significant risk. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent mechanic, but not by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. No warning lights, error messages, or advance symptoms were present prior to the vehicle stalling. The issue first occurred around 2022.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that after reversing the vehicle, the rearview camera image remained on the display screen while the vehicle was shifted into driving and being driven. After stopping the vehicle, the display screen went blank. The rearview camera later became delayed and failed to display an image immediately while reversing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the rearview camera data had failed. The contact was unaware of the necessary repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

While driving in a snowstorm, with 4 wheel drive engaged, the vehicle started swerving, and fish tailing. I was in town and going slow(20 mph). The dash flashed some messages, and the default kicked in so front wheel drive resumed and stability also. The main message was ESC-Emergency Stability Control, plus two others. I called a mechanic in the morning, who suggested the computer might reset. I turned the vehicle on, but the message stayed. I decided to go to the mechanic’s shop, but after two left turns I heard a “growling” sound and the computer did reset. It has been okay since.

2015 Jeep Renegade vehicle's horn stopped working/malfunctioned. The clockspring in the steering column control needs to be replaced, along with a battery transmitter, and an air bag that is in the steering column. A Jeep service confirmed the problem and is ordering parts at this time. The parts cost $1,802.31, not including labor. Not having a horn to use puts myself and others at risk while driving, especially in high-traffic areas. The manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others, have not inspected the vehicle. There were no warning lamps or messages. The horn completing stopped working about three weeks ago.

It mostly happens in the morning. While I’m driving to work which is less than 5 minutes away from where I live. The car would just shut down while I’m driving, lights would flicker and the car will stop. I would have to wait a few minutes or more to restart the vehicle and the drives normal. I bought the car from Carmax in May or June 2021. They told me there were no recalls. I look up the problem I’m having and found a previous recall about the same issue, on the same year, make and model. Need help

6/24/21 I backed out of my carport & my car jerked me very hard like something shifted. All error codes & lights came on, air bag (which did not deploy) E Brake light was on, check engine & tire pressure the PRND light up simultaneously & flashed. I turned it off & back on, seemed fine I put in drive & drove in my circle driveway & suddenly it stopped accelerating even with me giving it gas then it took off & the E Brake came on. Thank GOD I was In My driveway & not pulling into traffic when this occurred. My husband tried again when he got home & it did the same to him would go then just stop accelerating mid drive & E brake come along with ALL the flashing error codes & I mean every code it can throw it did. It was like it was going in & out of limp mode & the E brake would come on when it wanted to mid drive. It has been in service since 6/26/2021 when it was taken by tow to the dealer, as it was unsafe to try to drive. I do have an extended mopar warranty & im told they have contacted Jeep engineering team but have NO answers. It’s been in their possession close to 40 days now. I will not feel safe at all IF they fix this car due to that incident. I would either be dead or badly injured.

LAST TIME IT WAS ON, WENT TO REPAIR SHOP AND HAD IT HOOKED UP TO THE DIALYSIS MACHINE AND IT STATED THAT THE THERMOSTAT NEEDED REPLACING. BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER STAYS ON. AFTER I STOP THE CAR AND RESTART IT, IT'S OFF. IT ALSO RANDOMLY LURCHES FORWARD OR SHAKES WHILE IN DRIVE OR PARKED. I'VE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR FAN WHICH KEPT BLOWING FUSES DUE TO THE FAN GOING OFF TRACK AND GETTING STUCK. I THOUGHT THAT FIXED THE JUMPING, BUT IT STILL OCCURS. JUST LESS OFTEN. MY MYSKY PANEL ENGINE IS ALSO BROKEN AND WILL NOT OPEN. STARTS TO OPEN, THEN CLOSES OR STOPS COMPLETELY AFTER ONLY AN INCH OR TWO OF OPENING.

I ALSO WENT THROUGH THE CHRYSLER DISPUTE RESOLUTION. WHICH WAS UNFAVORABLE TO MYSELF DUE TO DEALERSHIP CLAIMING NOTHING WAS WRONG. DEALERSHIP DID NOT NOTATE TRUE EXPERIENCES WITH THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER. VEHICLE STILL STALLED AND LUNGED THEREAFTER. I REFUSED TO DRIVE IT DUE TO SAFETY REASONS AND HAD DEALERSHIP BUY IT BACK AT BLUEBOOK VALUE SO THAT I COULD PURCHASE A SAFE RELIABLE VEHICLE. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION. DESPITE TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND FINDING MANY OTHERS HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE, DEALER CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG AND SAID PROBLEM WAS FIXED AFTER A REFRESH UPDATE FOR BOTH COMPUTER SYSTEMS. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT FIXED AS IT HAPPENED TODAY AND I WAS ALMOST T-BONED IN AN INTERSECTION. ONLY HAS 23,120 MILES ON IT AND STILL UNDER JEEP WARRANTY. THIS BEGAN A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE.

APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASING MY 2015 JEEP RENEGADE TRAILHAWK, I BEGAN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE BATTERY HAS DIED FOUR TIMES, THE KEY FOB(S) WORK INTERMITTENTLY, THE ENGINE HAS SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN, THE CLOCK CONTINUOUSLY RESETS THE DATE/TIME, AND THE WINDOWS HAVE STOPPED WORKING ONCE. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO USE JEEP'S ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TWICE DUE TO DEAD BATTERIES. THIS WEEKEND, THE HEATER STOPPED WORKING AND IT DOES NOT TURN ON. THESE CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRS BOTH THE USE AND VALUE OF MY CAR. ADDITIONALLY, IT PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN FOR MY FAMILY; WINTER IS UPON US AND MY WIFE UTILIZES THIS VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT OUR TWO CHILDREN, WHOM ARE EACH UNDER THE AGE OF THREE YEARS OLD. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST INCIDENT WITH THIS CAR BUT THE FIRST AS SEVERE AS THIS. A FEW DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR IT WOULD SHIFT HARD WHEN PUT INTO REVERSE, IT FELT AS IF SOMEONE HIT ME FROM BEHIND. THE SEAT BELT ALARM ON THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. THIS IS AN UPDATE TO AN EARLIER COMPLAINT (#10826148) ABOUT MY 6-SPEED MANUAL 4X4 2015 RENEGADE LATITUDE (WITH ~6490 MILES ON IT) WHICH WAS REVVING UNCONTROLLABLY, POPPING OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL, DIFFICULT TO GET INTO AND OUT OF GEAR AS WELL AS EXHIBITING POOR FUEL ECONOMY. AT FIRST, THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE ANY OF THE PROBLEMS, BUT I INSISTED THAT THEY KEEP THE CAR AND DRIVE IT FURTHER. THEY DID AND WERE ABLE TO SEE THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THAT WAS NEARLY ONE MONTH AGO. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR 3 WEEKS FOR WHAT WAS DESCRIBED AS A PROBLEM WITH THE CLUTCH, A PART FOR WHICH (THE THROW-OUT BEARING) WAS ON BACK ORDER. I PICKED UP THE CAR THIS PAST FRIDAY 3/11/16, DROVE IT HOME AND PARKED IT IN MY GARAGE, HAPPY THAT IT WAS FIXED. OR SO I THOUGHT. SATURDAY MORNING, LESS THAN 24 HOURS SINCE BRINGING IT HOME, AS I WAS PREPARING TO GO OUT OF TOWN, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE, AND THERE IT SITS, STUCK IN MY GARAGE, TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. MY TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN SLIPPING IN THE LOWER GEARS, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN I TURNED CORNERS. FINALLY THE CAR GOT STUCK IN 5TH GEAR, AND BARELY GOES WHEN I HIT THE GAS. BOTH THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I AM TAKING IT IN.

I PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW AND HAD IT FOR 6 DAYS. WE DROVE FROM DENVER TO BRECKINRIDGE. WE WERE COMING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF GOING 70 MILES AN HOUR. AT ONE POINT THE HYDRAULICS WENT OUT AND THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. WE PULLED THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO START UP THE CAR AGAIN. WE PROCEEDED ON, THINKING IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE ALTITUDE AND WAS A FLUKE. NO, IT HAPPENED TO US AGAIN. THE SAME THING. THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN GOING 70 AND THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK. IT WAS TERRIFYING. THE CAR WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND ASSOCIATED PARTS, ON A NEW CAR WITH 400 MILES. IF THIS WAS IN THE WINTER AND THE ROADS WERE ICY, MY FAMILY AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD.
