My car just shut off out of now where while I was driving, tried to turn it on and wouldn’t start, get u I was in the middle of the road bc it just shut off. I left it off for about 10 minutes and finally it turned back on but yet the battery and everything was good on the car, this is definitely a road hazard ️!

Summary of Ongoing Issues with Shaver Automotive & Stellantis Regarding W80 Recall -Initial Reporting (December 2018): At 35,104 miles, I first reported engine stalling, performance issues, and excessive oil consumption to Shaver Automotive. -Recall Notification & Incomplete Testing (January 2024): I received a recall letter in January 2024 for the W80 oil consumption test. Shaver Automotive performed the first part of the test but instructed me to return for Part 2—which they subsequently delayed. -Delays & Failed Recall Test (July 2024–January 2025): From July to December 2024, Shaver ignored multiple requests to schedule the second test. In January 2025, part 2 of the test was finally conducted. W80 Recall test failed, prompting a promise of a new engine installation by mid-to-late March 2025. -Dealership Fraud & Negligence (March–June 2025): From March to June 2025, Shaver: -Ignored all follow-up requests for updates. -Falsified service records, including a fabricated appointment on 3/26/25 while I was out of town. -Falsified mileage on my Jeep at said fabricated appointment. -Closed my Stellantis case without notification, obstructing resolution. -Stellantis’ Failure to Intervene (2024–2025): Despite three active case numbers (#93024832, #93352240, #93372613), Stellantis repeatedly directed me back to Shaver Automotive, refusing to escalate or resolve the issue. -Legal & Ethical Violations: Shaver’s misconduct, mileage tampering, falsified documents, and deliberate delays, has left me with an unsafe vehicle for over 18 months, violating: -Consumer protection laws (e.g., Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act). -Recall compliance obligations under NHTSA guidelines. Stellantis’ negligence in overseeing its dealership network exacerbated the harm.

The engine cooling fan failed. The vehicle was repaired by Firestone, and we have the old parts in case an inspection is needed. This failure put myself and others at risk because had I not been close to home when the engine light came on, the engine would have overheated. My daily commute is over 50 miles, and this could have caused an accident if it had happened on the highway. The problem was confirmed by a service center (Firestone). The entire fan assembly needed to be replaced since the bracket was also broken. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. The check engine light first came on while I was driving home from the store on 5/31/25. Then, the A/C stopped cooling. I stopped by Advance Auto Parts Store, and they checked the engine code (P0481) and advised me to purchase a fuse. When I arrived home and checked under the hood, I found that there was indeed a blown fuse. After replacing the fuse, I noticed that the fan was shaking and rattling. I then took the vehicle to the local Firestone center and they diagnosed the problem. I searched online to see if other Renegade owners had reported problems with the engine cooling fan and found that there was a recall (Recall Number: V54 - Engine Cooling Fan) for 2015 - 2017 Jeep Renegades for this same issue. However, it seems that my vehicle was not included in the recall. I am requesting that my vehicle be included in the recall so I can be reimbursed for the $1,053 that I spent on this repair.

8/23 I was informed of a recall on my engine due to oil consumption. I took my vehicle to Jeep & completed an oil consumption test being told my car was affected & the engine would be replaced. I was told that there’s a long wait & could be 6mos or more. I started calling after 6mos & was told over & over again the engine hadn’t arrived then referred to the manufacturer for resolution. The manufacturer said nothing was ever reported to them. I went to Autonation to get to the bottom of things & they’re acting like none of this ever happened while asking me what I want them to do about it smirking as if this is funny.

My 2016 Jeep Renegade (36k miles) keeps dying suddenly, sometimes when parked and sometimes while driving. My battery and alternator work like they should. No warning signs occur before the car dies. It usually requires a jumpstart before it's able to run again. 1. It's not teh battery because if the battery was bad it would not die while driving as it's running on alternator. 2. It's not the alternator as I tested it by letting the car run and disconnecting the batter while it was running. It continued to run which indicates that the alternator works just fine. I looked up the symptom on the internet and found that many other Jeep Reneage owners complained online about the same issue. This is a MAJOR safety hazard as all power steering is lost when the car shuts off which could lead to accidents when it occurs while driving

My 2016 Jeep Renegade is my only vehicle for myself and family. There's an open recall (U90) for a part that must be installed by a certified dealership. However, the necessary part is unavailable and has been back ordered for over one year. There are no dealerships in the entire state which have this part avallable. I've been on a waitlist for this part about a year as well. My car registration is due next month in May, which requires this recall to be repaired prior to registration. I also need a smog test, but the recall involves emissions so my smog test is likely to fail. I have contacted Jeep customer service but the representative has stopped responding completely. I have reached out 3 additional times to this representative assigned to help me but have been ignored.

Vehicle has a recall (U90) . I am unable to renew my Vehicle Registration without proof of correction certificate. Dealer has refused to service my vehicle for the recall . I have been in contact since March 2023 for this recall. I am told there is a waiting list for the part. I am never contacted again for the service. I have asked to be added to the waiting list and they are stating they are unable to service my vehicle without first ordering the part . They are uncooperative and refusing to service a recall that is required for Vehicle Registration renewal.

Vehicle Started to overheat when sitting still and AC was reduced at a stop. Found the cooling fan to be unresponsive and not operating. Found CSN V54 tsb and conducted determination of it's application to my vehicle. Vehicle had the bushing style plastic heat shield from the examples and using proper scan tool, found the fan unresponsive to run command. Called dealership to schedule repair and they were adamant that it was not covered, or must have been repaired already, but did not provide proof of such repair. The unit in the vehicle is the plastic heat shield bushing style unit, not the ball bearing replacement unit.

Problem with the rear tail light bulb assembly wiring. This is a poor design with intermittent failures that causes your brake, side marker, and blinkers to fail and not work. The wiring harness / plug assembly shorts out and stops working. The plug is short with a plastic plug. The mopar part assembly replacement cost over $600.00 dollars and is not guaranteed to last. Jeep forums state this is a recurring problem with multiple replacements ending in the same result failure again. They know this is a flaw and yet do nothing about it. This is not normal wear and tear as the plug actually shorts out.

The engine cooling fan died. There was a recall for it and it was supposed to be replaced according to the v54 recall. My vehicle still has the version 1 fan even though it was supposed to have been replaced back in 2019. Since the fan does not work I cannot idle for too long or else the car will overheat.

recently while driving to work at a traffic light as i rolled i heard my car start to accelerate and the check engine light came on. I began to observe, and found out that the gearbox does this when it is downshifted from 5th to 4th gear. of course I didn't hit the car in front several times. the presence of such errors as u0402 and C2502. i went to the dealer but the dealer had never heard of this and only did a software update on the transmission and engine. but it didn't help, they changed the oil in the transmission, no result either, they gave me a document and said that the reason was the electricity. after searching the entire Internet, I saw that Cherokee had such a phantom acceleration for 14-15 years. and really the problem is inside the transmission. i want to fix this problem because the dealer doesn't know what to do.

I recently had the following situation. Tuesday, Dec. 13th, 2022 a big storm hit, showered snow on us ALL day. My Jeep was parked with the passenger side to the north... just setting the scene. Rain, ice, & snow coated my Renegade when I left work and I noticed that the dash temp reading was not working. I didn't need 4WD on the drive home. Wednesday morning, I started up and got a "service engine" notification with solid engine light. The snow was slick enough on the roads that I attempted to put it into 4WD but couldn't. THINKING that the engine light was on due to a 4WD issues, I babied it from my home to the dealership. I was told that a solid engine light means not critical and I should be able to drive it until my appointment on the 21st. Then I was advised to go to an auto parts store to have a free diagnostic. I had to wait until Friday. The tech there came out and within 5 minutes told me the codes P0072 & P0073. He looked them up for me to ease my mind (4WD still not going in so I'm still thinking that's the issue). He informed me that the codes are for the AIR CONDITIONING SENSOR!! I did an internet search and found two pages of blog concerning the same issue from Jeep owners of differing vehicles. https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/check-engine-light-no-4wd-lock.72281/ This obviously is a safety concern if you need your 4WD and can't access it due to an innocuous reason such as a malfunctioning air conditioning sensor. Could you please have Jeep look into a fix for this issue?? It may be something simple as the new 4WD lock seems to be electronic.

When car is backed up and put into drive the transmission hesitates. While coming to a stop the transmission has small jerks while downshifting. Also upon pulling out anytime you are stopped it looses power and then jumps forward. While driving as it changes gears it hesitates then switches and feels like I’m driving with someone learning how to drive a manual. This should not be happening around 67k miles. It’s going to cause a wreck.

Complaint #11629826. i also have had safety issues with my 2016 Jeep Renegade. Engine shuts down while driving flashes check engine signs and has to be put in park to be restarted. Currently, engine stops while driving and " emergency brake goes on " I have to restart jeep and drive with emergency brake on because it won't go off even though I have not set the brake on. This is happening frequently and almost was hit on the highway due to Jeep engine stopping while I was driving. I have had it in for service several times and paid for software/connection replacements etc. Problem still exists and very dangerous. Jeep dealership unsure how to fix the problem. Numerous dates of occurrence within the last 2 months-

Was driving with cruise co trip on going about 70 mph. On an interstate. All of a sudden I saw my dash all go out and was pushing down on my accelerator and had no power and car was slowing down. Next it came back on and the the steering wheel light with exclamation showed up. Today 2 days later driving and it states service 4wd and the. When at a stop light it again did the same thing and this time shut down. This is a high priority in my mind I can’t allow younger drivers to drive. I see other complaints like this too.My spouse also observed the first time. Could of cause fatalities and or severe harm.

VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AS WELL AS TAKING TURNS. JUST SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING. AFTER IT SHUTS OFF THE LIGHTNING BOLT IN PARENTHESES (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM) COMES ON, THEN GOES AWAY. CAR SHOWS AS STILL RUNNING, BUT WON'T MOVE. SOMETIMES THE LOW OIL GAUGE COMES ON, BUT THE VEHICLE IS UP TO DATE WITH OIL CHANGES. VERY UNSAFE FOR VEHICLE TO JUST "STOP MOVING" OR "SHUT OFF" IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING, OR IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS, BUT NOW IT IS DAILY.

THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. THE FIRST YEAR I HAD IT I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 7 TIMES BECAUSE MY EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD RANDOMLY TURN ON. THEY FINALLY FIGURED OUT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. LAST MONTH I STARTED THE CAR AND IT WAS RUNNING LIKE IT HAD 150, 000 MILES ON IT (IT ONLY HAS 42,000) AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ONE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE THE THE O2 SENSOR WAS BAD AND I NEEDED A TUNEUP... BUT WHEN I REFUSED TO PAY THE DEALERSHIP $700 FOR THE WORK THE STORY CHANGED WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE CAR. THEY THEN TOLD ME THEY BROKE THE O2 SENSOR WHEN REPLACING A FAN THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED. WHILE DRIVING O THE HIGHWAY YESTERDAY EVERY LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON. ONCE I GOT HOME A TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON ONLY THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IM GOING TO DO WITH THIS $35,000 LEMON. I CAN ONLY GUESS THE CAR STILL HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES OR THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO DIE AT 42,000 MILES EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HAVE KEPT UP WITH ALL REQUIRED MAINTENANCE THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP. The jerking, delayed take off reported originally that was supposedly corrected with a motor replacement STILL happens. Spoken with multiple other Renegade drivers and tow truck drivers, the transmission appears to be the issue. Each recorded visit to the dealership has reported transmission ok. My safety is my absolute #1 concern. Want transmission checked, rechecked, repaired, replaced or whatever makes my driving life safe as possible.

My customer satisfaction number is W20. I have been waiting since December 2022 to get the catalytic converter replaced. I was told there were 2 people ahead of me. Everytime I called I was told they were still trying to reach the people. They did update the software but now my Jeep is sluggish. I have to force the gas pedal to force the accelerator to the floor to pick up speed. So my gas mileage is very bad. I hope the engine does not go waiting so long to get a defective part replaced. I am in Arkansas now and will be until my Mom gets out of the hospital. I want to get my Jeep fixed now. I am close to Batesville and Jonesboro Arkansas. Please tell me where I can take my Jeep to get it repaired or do I take the recall card to any Jeep dealer. I feel I have waited long enough.

UPDATE TO COMPLAINT # 11270456 REPORTED ON 10/23/19. I CALLED JEEP DIRECTLY TO REPORT THE ISSUE AND THEY INSTRUCTED ME NOT TO PICK THE CAR. THEY CALLED DEALERSHIP DIRECTLY. THEY ARE AWARE OF AN "OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE" WITH 2016 RENEGADES WHICH IS RELATED TO THE CAR STALLING/GOING INTO NEUTRAL AND THE GEAR SHIFTING ISSUE. SINCE THEY DID AN OIL CHANGE ON 10/22/19, THEY WANT ME TO PUT 1,000 MILES ON THE CAR & BRING IT BACK FOR AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. DEPENDING ON THE RESULTS OF THAT TEST, THEY MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE.

WHILE DRIVING, WARNING LIGHT CAME UP "SHIFT VEHICLE TO PARK" AND CAR ESSENTIALLY GOES INTO NEUTRAL. ONCE PULLED OVER, CAR COULDN'T BE RESTARTED FOR A FEW MINUTES AND WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. WHEN IT FINALLY DID SHIFT, THE "SHIFT VEHICLE TO PARK" WARNING CAME UP AGAIN. LUCKILY, THIS HAPPENED ON A LOCAL ROAD AND NOT A 70MPH HIGHWAY. Headlights keep going out. multiple repairs have been done by independent service center. No warning. They have been replaced 7 times and they just keep going out.

While running some errands, I put my left turn signal on to change lanes, and I immediately got a dashboard indication that the rear turn signal lamp was out. Curiously enough, I also had a running light out, back up light out, and brake light out indication. I went to a local parts store and purchased two correct bulbs and upon returning home, I replaced them. Didn't fix the problem. After some though, I googled 2016 Jeep Renegade tail light issues and sure enough I got several hits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2p-cHXBEAs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhEzVL0Bcns https://www.carproblemzoo.com/jeep/renegade/tail-light-switch-problems.php I went back and looked at the connector to my tail light, and it was in fact burnt (no corrosion) on both the tail light assembly and the mating connector. (I did not take pictures of my connectors because it looks just like the ones in the videos) After the dealer service associate claimed ignorance of the issue and said they would have to replace the whole tail light assembly, and the wiring harness at my cost since the car is out of warranty, I chose to fix the problem myself and it now it works fine. I see this as a known safety issue and genuinely believe Jeep Inc. should recall all 2016 (and perhaps other years as well) and fix this problem at there cost.

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while parking the vehicle the contact noticed that the headlights were inoperable. The contact replaced the headlight bulbs; however, the headlights remained inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that water was entering the headlight housings which caused dame to the wiring. The contact was informed that the wiring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be taken to the dealer to be repaired. The failure mileage was 85,000.

Fog light wiring issue front drivers side. Changed light. It happens to be in the wiring and I’ve heard other people have issues with this and it is a safety concern based on not being able to see or have people see you in the fog.

Parking/Daylight continually goes out after repeated replacement of the bulb. I will have the vehicle available upon request. I have had it inspected by the dealer and third party services each and every time all they do is replace the bulb. It's only been 1 month since I last had the bulb replaced (But I've had it replaced 3 times this year). Additionally, I found a forum of people also complaining about their jeep renegades with the same exact issue: https://www.jeeprenegadeforum.com/threads/parking-light-daytime-running-lights-out.50874/ Seems to be a widespread problem stemming from faulty wiring from the manufacturer. Surprised there hasn't already been a recall.

While driving around I suddenly got an alert from the car that the driver's side back up light, left turn signal light/rear tail light was no longer functioning. I had to drive around without people driving behind me knowing of any intent to turn left, which was a safety issue. I took it to an independent mechanic who replaced the bulbs and everything was back to normal, but only for 30 minutes. The same thing happened again on my drive home and I had to turn around to take it back to the mechanic. Upon further investigation, the mechanic noted that the connector for the light was burnt out and thus, causing a faulty connection, that had nothing to do with the lights themselves, and that could fail at any time. In trying to get a new connector, the mechanic found that they are on backorder, presumably because this is an issue being faced by numerous jeep renegade owners. So now, even if I wanted to fix the problem, I can't, which again, is a safety issue.

MY VEHICLE'S CONNECTOR TO THE PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHT HAS A BURN MARK ON THE MIDDLE PIN OF THE CONNECTOR. I HAVE FOUND COUNTLESS OTHERS ON FORUMS WITH THE SAME ISSUE, WHERE THE CONNECTOR TO THEIR TAIL LIGHT FRIED, THUS CAUSING THE BRAKE LIGHT, BLINKER, AND REVERSE LIGHTS TO BE UNUSABLE WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT CAN NOT BE FIXED BY SIMPLY CHANGING A BULB. ALL RIGHT REAR LAMPS FAILED DUE TO WIRING HARDNESS WITH CENTER GROUNDING WIRE BURNT. REAR LAMPS ARE NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL. ALSO THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSE A SPARK, ENOUGH IN THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES TO CAUSE A FIRE, AND CONSIDER IT A SAFETY CONCERN. Keyless entry working intermittently. Using 2 original key fobs, doors will lock, unlock, remote start and panic alarm will sound. Then they will not. Both keys respond the same. Either they are both working or they are both not working. Works most of the time, but then the system will stop working and the emergency key will be needed to access the vehicle.

I'm getting multiple messages displayed saying lights are out when they are not, have had many instances where the language is changed to something else. And the cooling fan stops working intermittently causing over heating and most recent melted wiring harness plugs to and from fan.

After work I got in my renegade Trailhawk and turned it on as usual to go home. Upon starting up the vehicle, warning lights came on telling me the headlights, tail lights, blinkers, daytime lights, tag lights, parking lights and back up lights were not working or out. I got out and inspected them only to see they were in fact all still functioning as should be. I got someone from the dealership to look at the issue and was told it would be alright, but definitely get the service department to look at it in the morning. I am having it inspected today by the service department and hopefully the issue will be resolved.

CAR HAS 60000 MILES ON IT. I WENT TO TURN THE CAR ON AND ALL SERVICE LIGHTS POPPED UP (TRANSMISSION SERVICE, CHECK ENGINE AND OIL CHANGE). WENT TO PUT CAR AND DRIVE AND WOULD NOT GO OUT OF PARK. I USED THE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE TO GET OUT OF GEAR AND ONCE IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND ONLY ENGINE WOULD REV. AFTER RESEARCHING, I FOUND MANY OTHER JEEP RENEGADES HAD A COMPUTER ISSUE WHERE IT NEEDED TO BE RESET. DEALERSHIP WONT FIX UNLESS UNDER WARRANTY.

After starting up the vehicle several dash lights turned on including check engine and power system indicator. The accelerator pedal would not provide throttle to the engine and vehicle was in limp mode. after reading codes P2138(Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor) and P0653(Sensor Reference Voltage B Circuit High) After Dealer diagnostic it was determined that the accelerator pedal sensor was faulty and is being replaced. The issue appears common as the part is on nationwide backorder and the dealer has been waiting on the part for 4 weeks. The car is still not repaired.

I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME WAS FOR 1 DAY, AND THEY SAID THERE WAS AN UPDATE, THIS DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE. So I took to it to independent service center, which confirm problem. By providing the service center report, the dealer then confirm problem. Problems/symptoms occur 2 days after financing vehicle.

RESTARTED NEXT DAY AND IDLE VERY ROUGH/MISFIRING, ENGINE LIGHT BLINKING AND DECENT CLOUD OF BLACK SMOKE GENERATED. INITIAL REPORT FROM SHOP IS THAT THE ENGINE OIL IS SLUDGE (CHANGED 5K MILES AGO), BATTERY IS COMPLETELY DEAD (WAS ALREADY REPLACED AT 15K MILES) AND A SPARK PLUG END IS BENT AND IN HORRIFIC SHAPE. VEHICLE HAS 25K MILES AND HAS BEEN IN SERVICE FOR 4.2 YEARS.

I took the vehicle in for Oil Change and tire rotation on May 5th, 2023. Dealer could not remove wheels, as the lug nuts on all 4 wheels were in a swollen state. Dealer mentioned that this is a known design defect in many Chrysler vehicles, and it would cost me $233 to have them replaced. Pls see attached screenshot. At this point, if I had a flat tire, I will not be able to replace it, as I am not able to remove the lug nuts. Ticket 86109919 was opened with Jeep.com on May 8th, 2023. Customer Service has advised that they will not cover the cost of replacing these lug nuts, even if it's not a product that falls under the 'wear and tear' category. Please help in making this a product to be recalled and repaired at FCA's expense.

The lug nut wrench doesn’t fit the lug studs due to the shiny cap on each stud. I had to use a hammer to force the wrench on to the studs in order to remove them. I replaced all studs with aftermarket studs without any beauty cover allowing a 17 mm wrench to remove the studs.

The wheel lug nuts are ballooned. This makes it impossible to remove the wheel without breaking the wheel stud. This is apparently a common problem with some Jeep models. I was told this on my last two visits for service at the Clovis, CA Jeep dealer. On both visits, they were unable to rotate the tires. On my last visit, 10/06/2022 (53,231 miles on the odometer), I ordered at my expense a full set of wheel studs (20) to solve the issue. The parts have still not arrived. This is my teenage daughters car. This is a safety defect because if she gets a flat tire they will not be able to change the tire. Jeep should have recalled all known vehicles that might have this issue and replaced the wheel studs a long time ago.

IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE BOLTS FROM THE WHEELS, THE MECHANIC HAD TO USE A DIFFERENT SIZE SOCKET AND A VICE GRIP, WHICH TOOK APPROXIMATELY THREE AND A HALF HOURS. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE NEEDED TO PURCHASE NEW BOLTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT AND STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO ISSUE A RECALL UNLESS MORE CUSTOMERS COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS MATTER. THE BOLTS WERE NOT REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,100.

THE BRAND AND MODEL OF THE TIRES OF MY 2016 JEEP RENEGADE ARE GOOD YEAR EAGLE SPORT. WITH JUST 9 MONTHS OF USING THE BUS, THE TIRES BEGAN TO DENT AND PRESENT SOME HOLES. I CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE JEEP AND GOOD YEAR. THE REPRESENTATIVE OF GOOD YEAR TOLD ME THAT I COULD NOT HONOR THE DEFECT OF THE TIRES BECAUSE THOSE TIRES WERE NOT MADE FOR THE CLIMATE OF PUERTO RICO AND THAT THIS AN AESTHETIC DEFECT AND NOT INSECURE. JEEP SAFETY CONCERN 2016 JEEP RENEGADE TRAIL HAWK 4WD MILEAGE: 35.000 OUR VEHICLE DISPLAYED CHECK ENGINE CODE (P0440). TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED A FRONT VACUUM VALVE. THREE DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED A PRESSURE SWITCH IN THE GAS TANK WAS THE PROBLEM BUT THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED. WHILE THIS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON I DISCOVERED THAT WHEN THE ELECTRONIC COMPUTER MODULE (ECM) SEES AN EMISSION CODE THE ECM WILL DISABLE THE VEHICLES 4WD AND THE REMOTE START. THE REMOTE START IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN BUT THE 4WD IS.THERE WAS A SNOW STORM THAT HIT THE EASTERN SEABOARD AND EFFECTED OUR AREA. SINCE MY WIFE USES THIS VEHICLE, FOR SEVERAL DAYS MY WIFE WAS WITHOUT A VEHICLE DURING THIS STORM. THANKFULLY I DISCOVERED THE ISSUE BEFORE THE STORM HIT. THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME SAW THIS AND THANKFULLY DIDN'T HIT ME. THE 2ND TIME HAPPENED AS I WAS TAKING A LEFT INTO A SHOPPING CENTER. WHILE STATIONARY I STARTED RELEASING THE CLUTCH WHILE APPLYING GAS IN 1ST GEAR. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BLINKED A FEW TIMES AND CUT POWER AGAIN WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, BUT THIS TIME THERE WERE VEHICLES COMING TOWARDS ME. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT IN TOWN ON A BUSY STREET, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND MY VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING AND STARTED TO SLOW AT THE SAME TIME. I TRIED TO PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL BUT IT DID NOTHING. I THEN NOTICED ON MY DASH SCREEN IT SAID TO SHIFT INTO PARK TO STOP. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN MY VEHICLE HAD JUST STOPPED. I TRIED RESTARTING MY VEHICLE AFTER TURNING MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND THE ENGINE JUST KEPT TURNING, SO I PRESSED THE STOP BUTTON AS THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. THE BRAKE WAS LOCKED UP AND AND SO DID MY SHIFTER. I THEN HAD TO CALL A TOW SERVICE AND HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL JEEP CHRYSLER SHOP. THIS HAPPENED SUNDAY ON MY WAY TO WORK. MONDAY AFTERNOON THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND SAID IT WAS MY FUEL PUMP. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NEW IN AUGUST OF 2016 AND ONLY HAVE 26975 MILES ON IT. I HAD TO PAY THE DEALERSHIP 950.36 TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I SAW THAT THE 2017-2018 MODELS OF MY SAME VEHICLE HAVE A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP AND WILL REPLACE THEM FOR FREE. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO THE 2016 MODELS AS I HAD THE SAME ISSUE.

THIS IS REGARDING MY SON'S VEHICLE. ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THE FUEL GAUGE HAS SHOWN FUEL IN THE TANK. ONCE IT WAS SHOWING JUST UNDER A QUARTER TANK AND ANOTHER SHOWING JUST UNDER HALF TANK. IN REALITY THE TANK WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. BOTH TIMES HE WAS OBVIOUSLY DRIVING AND THE ENGINE STALLED AND LEFT HIM TRYING TO NEGOTIATE THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND STRANDED UNTIL HIS FATHER OR WHERE ABLE TO REACH HIM.

MY CAR STALLED TWICE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE IN MOTION. IN BOTH INSTANCES I WAS TURNING LEFT AND THEN THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND A NOTIFICATION SIGNALED ON THE DASHBOARD THAT THE CAR MUST BE IN PARK TO SHIFT. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON A BUSY ROAD. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO OIL IN MY CAR. THE LOW OIL INDICATOR LIGHT NEVER APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD TO WARN ME THAT MY OIL WAS LOW. MY LAST OIL CHANGE WAS 6,000 MILES AGO, PRIOR TO THE ONE I RECEIVED TODAY. WINDSHIELD BREAKS EASILY WHEN A SMALL ROCK HITS IT WHILE DRIVING. WE HAD TO HAVE THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED AFTER ONLY HAVING THE VEHICLE LESS THAN A MONTH. WE HAD TO WAIT 2 MONTHS TO GET THE WINDSHIELD FROM THE FACTORY BECAUSE THERE WERE 11 IN FRONT OF US.(SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM. WHY WOULD SO MANY WINDSHIELDS NEED TO BE REPLACED?). AFTER REPLACING THE WINDSHIELD, IN JUST ONE WEEK, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED. THIS WAS JUST DRIVING DOWN A REGULAR INTERSTATE HIGHWAY IN ST. LOUIS. WE HAVE HAD OTHER ROCKS HIT WINDSHIELDS ON PREVIOUS VEHICLES, AND THEY OFTEN DEFLECT OFF WITH NO PROBLEM. THE JEEP WINDSHIELD SEEMS TO BE MORE VERTICAL, AND WHEN A SMALL ROCK HITS IT, IT HITS IT DEAD ON AND CRACKS THE WINDSHIELD. I HAVE NOT HAD THE LAST WINDSHIELD REPLACED YET BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT MY INSURANCE RATES TO GO UP BY MAKING ANOTHER CLAIM WITHIN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. While driving the car, the wheel locked and we lost acceleration, and a warning light for the electric engine throttle came on. The car is undriveable, and we are extremely lucky that we were not in an accident. We suspect that the W79 recall for other Jeeps is implicated for our car.

WHEN DRIVING THE CAR AND ENTERING THE ON RAMP TO THE FREEWAY THE CAR LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. IT APPEARED THE GAS PEDDLE WAS INACTIVE AND THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL. IT NOTIFIED ME WITH A LIGHT "ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL" THEN THE CAR SUDDENLY WENT BACK INTO GEAR. I WAS CONCERNED BUT WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE THIS WAS PART OF THE DESIGN. SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING AND FOR NO REASON AT 25K MILES THE BATTERY SUDDENLY DIED. ALL LIGHTS CAME ON IN THE CAR. IT HAD NO POWER AND WOULD NOT TURN ON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID "THE BATTERY JUST FAILED". IN AUG I WAS SHOCKED TO TURN ON THE CAR AND HAVE A MESSAGE THAT SAYS "CHANGE OIL" WELL BEFORE AN OIL CHANGE IS DUE. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD SEEN THIS LIGHT BECAUSE I AM ALWAYS ON TIME WITH CAR MAINTENANCE. THE $84.77 SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SPENT ON AN UNNECESSARY OIL CHANGE, IF THIS CONTINUES I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE CONSTANT OIL CHANGES. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS INTO PURCHASING THE NEW 2016 JEEP RENEGADE VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2016, AND INTERMITTENTLY SINCE THEN, WE HAVE HAD "DEAD PEDDLING" ISSUES, EXAMPLE: WE ARE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT TO TURN RIGHT, TRAFFIC CLEARS WITH ENOUGH CLEARANCE TO ALLOW A SAFE ACCELERATION TO TURN RIGHT AND ENTER WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, HOWEVER, WHEN THE GAS PEDDLE IS MASHED TO GO FORWARD, NOTHING HAPPENS, SOMETIMES FOR A FEW MOMENTS, AND THEN THE CAR MOVES FORWARD AT THE, NOW, WRONG MOMENT, WHEN IT IS UNSAFE TO TURN RIGHT, SINCE TRAFFIC HAS CAUGHT UP AND THE GAP TO ENTER THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC IS NO LONGER A SAFE DISTANCE FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC, CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKES. ALSO, ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY FROM AN EXIT/ENTRANCE TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY (GOING 25-35 MPH FROM THE ON RAMP, WHEN ENTERING ONTO A 65 MPH HIGHWAY), PRESSING HARDER ON THE GAS PEDDLE TO ATTEMPT TO ACHIEVE A HIGHER SPEED TO MOVE ONTO THE HIGHWAY WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, IS DELAYED OR DOESN'T HAPPEN AT ALL UNLESS WE LET OFF THE GAS AND PRESS AGAIN, SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES, AND THE VEHICLE IS STILL TRAVELING AT AN UNSAFE SLOWER SPEED THAN THE FLOW OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC GOING 65+MPH. THESE ISSUES HAPPEN RANDOMLY BOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT A COMPLETE STOP, AND AT A LOWER SPEED WHEN WE WANT TO SPEED UP. WE HAVE NO ISSUES BRAKING OR SLOWING DOWN. ANOTHER SAFETY FLAW IS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SHIFT GEARS WHEN NEEDED, IT WILL "RED-LINE" OCCASIONALLY BEFORE SHIFTING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SPEED UP. ALL OF OUR ISSUES HAVE HAPPENED BOTH ON THE HIGHWAY AND IN THE CITY. WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT OR REAR ENDED BY A SEMI-TRUCK OR OTHER VEHICLES DUE TO THESE FLAWS. IT IS A DANGEROUS PIECE OF JUNK. ISSUE: I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE DURING WEEK TWO WITH A FRIEND THAT WAS A WITNESS. WE WERE ON A DRY, CLEAR ROAD WITH TWO OTHER CARS, SOMETHING FLEW UP AND DINGED THE WINDSHIELD AND THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED. HAD TO MAKE CLAIM TO GET IT REPAIRED. COMPANY DID A PATCH, BUT THE STAR CRACK IS STILL IN THE LOWER PART OF MY VISION. SINCE THIS IS A LEASE I LIKELY WILL NEED TO HAVE THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD REPLACED. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY CLAIMS OR TICKETS IN WELL OVER THIRTY YEARS. I HAVE HAD JEEPS AND OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES MY ENTIRE LIFE AND NEVER HAVE I HAD A WINDSHIELD CRACK WITH LESS THAN 300 MILES ON IT. WITH THE OTHER ENGINE ISSUES AND STALLING ISSUES THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP. GOING TO TAPE A NOTE TO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE THAT THE "THIS RENEGADE STALLS AND TURNS OFF WITHOUT WARNING. On more than one occasion, this car has stalled or stopped, leaving me coasting to the side of the road in active traffic. I was going about 30-35 mph. It has had oil consumption problems since 2021 when I purchased it. It was presented to me at point of sale as gas consumption...it wasn't getting good mileage and would need a tune up. Also misrepresented as having a spare and it did not. On 4 Aug 2024 I completed the most recent oil consumption test and it failed. Leith Jeep refused to provide me with paperwork and said "no charge." But it needed another quart of oil which I added. Before the test was completed it needed a quart of oil. I have all records and will attach here if possible or email under separate emails. Not sure how many doc can be attached. I had recall repairs made. My car is part of the class action lawsuit but is unsafe. I am told to correct I need a new engine which will cost me out of pocket $11,000.00 due to no longer under warranty. But it has had this problem since I bought it and prior, an oil consumption test was done by the dealer in possession then.

I started up my Renegade as usual and when I got to the stop sign at the end of my street, I had a message on the screen telling me to press the break and push the start button. I never turned my car off. No check engine lights before or after this incident.

While at an intersection as I was turning left across the side of oncoming traffic my vehicle completely stalled in the middle of the road the gas pedal was stuck and would not accelerate and then a code on my dash appeared Service Throttle Body, after 45 seconds the code went away and the veh was finally able to accelerate so I could move out of the middle of the oncoming traffic side of the road. I then proceeded to go straight until I could find a parking lot to pull into. Right before I was able to pull into the parking lot the Jeep did the same thing again. Would not accelerate, I put on my flashers, the same dash code came back on Service Throttle Body and after 45 seconds the Jeep went back to acting fine. I was finally able to pull into a parking lot and turn off the jeep.

I HAVE SEEN A RECALL FOR THE 2017 JEEP RENEGADE WHERE THE ENGINE IS STALLING. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE 2016 AND 2015 AS WELL. I HAVE A 2016 AND MINE HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT TODAY IT ALMOST GOT ME AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD, KILLED. I WAS TURNING ONTO A ROADWAY AND IT STALLED TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE TALKED WITH OTHER LOCAL RENEGADE OWNERS THAT ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. WHY AREN'T THE OTHER, PREVIOUS YEARS INCLUDED IN ON THE RECALL SINCE WE ALL HAVE THIS ISSUE? TOW TRUCK GOT THERE, PUT CAN IN NEUTRAL, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULDN'T GO OFF, CAR WOULDN'T TURN OFF EMERGENCY BRAKE, PUSHED IT 20 OR SO TIMES, EMERGENCY BRAKE FINALLY TURNED OFF SO WE COULD BACK UP THE CAR SO THE TOW TRUCK COULD GET IT FRONT OF IT TO TOW. CAR IS NOW AT THE DEALERSHIP. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR AND IT IS DANGEROUSLY UNSAFE. I bought my jeep at the end of 2016. Within a year the back seat passenger side seatbelt would not latch. Now I’m 2022 the middle seatbelt also won’t latch. I have a five year old. I discovered this when attempting to move her to a booster seat. There is only one working seatbelt in the back. After reading forums this is a common problem with the limited jeep renegade. Children are at risk.

My seat warning light comes on. Took it to Dutch Miller Jeep in south Charleston, WV. I was informed that the seat built switch was defective. After checking the internet it seems this is a common occurrence on Jeep vehicles. This is expensive to repair and is a safety hazard per the repair technician.

I purchased a used 2016 Jeep Renegade from a dealership located in Chicago, Illinois, on October 12, 2025. The seller assured me that the vehicle title was available and promised to mail it to me the day after the purchase, since I live in Nebraska and could not return in person to pick it up. It has now been more than three weeks, and the dealership has not delivered the title, now claiming that the auction has not yet provided it. The vehicle is currently in my possession, but I am unable to register or legally use it due to the missing title. The dealership only provided a “bill of sale” as proof of purchase. In addition, the seller offered a 30-day warranty for a transmission issue, which began showing problems again before the warranty expired. However, the dealership refuses to issue any refund, stating that it “does not make returns.” I believe this situation poses a risk to consumer safety, as the vehicle was sold without a valid title and with a significant mechanical issue that could affect its operation. I request that the dealership be investigated for possible violations of vehicle sales laws and consumer fraud.

INITIALLY VEHICLE HAD A BURNING SMELL WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE AUXILIARY COOLANT PUMP. AFTER CHANGING THE COOLANT PUMP IN MARCH VEHICLE PRODUCED FALSE OVERHEAT CONDITIONS FOUR TIMES AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SHUT DOWN EACH TIME, WHILE DRIVING. TWO OF THE TIMES WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE OTHER TWO WHILE DRIVING THROUGH LOCAL STREETS. DEALER THEN CHANGED THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR. THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED SO THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN CORRECTED. AS A SECONDARY ISSUE THE VEHICLE THEN HAD GRINDING NOISE IN FRONT END WHICH OCCURRED IN JUNE AND IS STILL OCCURRING. INITIALLY THEY CHANGED THE RIGHT FRONT UPPER MOUNT BEARING. THEY HAVE REPLACED THAT PART ONCE AGAIN AS WELL AS THE RIGHT FRONT HUB BEARING AND SPINDLE, CONTROL ARM, AND THE UPPER STRUT MOUNT BOOT, NONE OF WHICH HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. Vehicle was returning Diagnostic code P0653 and P2138 it was taken to the dealership for servicing on 04/26/2025. Pedal position sensor was identified as the issue. Part was on national backorder for several weeks. and issue was repaired on 05/22/25. Vehicle was driven less than 100 miles and presented with the same issue on 06/26/2025 and was returned to the dealership for servicing. Service department reset the code and drove the vehicle for less than 100 miles, and indicated they could not reproduce the problem. Car was left at the dealership for a week for additional diagnostic. Car was picked up on 07/12/2025 from the dealership and on 07/15/2025 car was returned for third time to repair the issue with the same codes. A case was opened with Stellantis. At this poin car is still being repaired for the same issue. When issue occurs car goes into limp mode, and runs at 50% throttle, and has on occasion completely lost power sometimes causing some safety concerns. Vehicle was able to drive in limp mode first two times, third time required towing to the dealership

MY CAR HAS 35000 MILES ON IT AND WHEN I AM TURNING OR ON THE HIGHWAY OR JUST DRIVING NORMALLY, PRESSING DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR IT HAS A TWO TO THREE SECOND DELAY BEFORE IT WILL ENGAGE. WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE SEPTEMBER 29 2017. MY 1.3 YEAR OLD RENEGADES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. CALLED TO MAKE APPOINTMENT IMMEDIATELY WITH DEALER. 5 MINUTES LATER THE THE TEMPERATURE SPIKED IN ABOUT 1 SECOND TO AROUND 265 DEGREES. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE GAVE NO INDICATION OF A RISING TEMPERATURE AND LITERALLY SHOT UP. THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN LOCKED UP. PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL GET REPAIRED AND DONT KNOW HOW MUCH ENGINE DAMAGE HAS OCCURRED. SEEMS TO BE A NATIONAL ISSUE AS THERE ARE OTHER RENEGADES THAT HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MONTHS FOR THE SAME PARTS AND HAVE BEEN AT DEALERSHIP FOR MONTHS. WISH JEEP WOULD GIVE ME A REFUND AS VEHICLE ONLY GAS 11800 MILES AND POTENTIALLY GAS CATASPROPHIC DAMAGE. SHOULD BE A RECALL AND FAV SHOULD BUY VEHICLE BACK. DEALER, WEST HERR (ORCHARD PARK) QUOTED FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY - MOPAR (68312374AA) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AFTER A VEHICLE ENGINE STALL AT 52092/60,000 (POWER-TRAIN WARRANTY). REPLACEMENT OF PART NOT COVERED VIA POWER-TRAIN AS THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY MERELY CONTRIBUTES TO THE COVERED GAS ENGINE. Had this car since 2016,only 39,289miles,no problems whatsoever,and then I did this recall thing the 12th of July 2021,and today the 14th of July 2021 I have an engine light on,I have this horrible noise when I turn it on,I am so pissed and mad!!!really mad!!!Techs should not touch anything else than whats is called for to be fixed!!!i feel that when we take the cars they mess things out so we,the customers have to end up putting money since is free,they need customers to go back and spend on something that it didn’t needed it from the beginning!!!like I said 6yrs and not a problem,even have a multi point inspection sheet that it shows everything was great!!!i am scare to take back,because now I’m going to end up paying for their mistakes/fault/unprofessional work.I am so disappointed,upset,mad.I was planning to buy there again,but now I’m re thinking bout it!it won’t get fixed I know I will end up paying,but I want to make a complaint so that way at least it will pile with other people who end up having the same problems!why do Mechanics do that,or Techs do it!if is not broken,don’t fix it please.They should take an integrity test and not take advantage of the situation.

FEELS LIKE HALF OF CYLINDERS ARE FIRING. CHRYSLER KNOWS IT'S A FAULTY THERMOSTAT. LEFT ME STRANDED 2 WINTERS STRAIGHT. THERMOSTAT OPERATES NORMALLY DURING SPRING/SUMMER. WHILE UNDER WARRANTY THE TECHNICIANS AT DAVID STANLEY DODGE IN MIDWEST CITY, OK SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH BOTH ISSUES. REFUSED TO FIX UNDER WARRANTY. VEHICLE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND IT WILL COST NEARLY $1000 TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX. I PUT TODAY'S DATE IN, BUT IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS. WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT, THE COOLING FAN COULD BE HEARD MAKING A WEIRD NOISE, FOLLOWED BY A STRONG ODOR. THIS HAPPENED ONE TIME EARLIER WHILE IDLING AND THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS ON. UPON LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE AND HAVING MY COOLING FAN REPLACED, I FOUND IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE IN THE 2016 MODELS, AND HAS BEEN FIXED FOR (OR PART OF) THE 2017 MODELS. I CHECKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED NO OFFICIAL RECALLS WERE SENT, AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. LUCKILY, I GOT THIS REPLACED BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED, BUT I'VE SPOKEN WITH NUMEROUS OTHER RENEGADE OWNERS WHO HAD THE VEHICLES BREAK DOWN AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO SHOPS FOR REPAIRS. I DID HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT BECAUSE I TOOK IT TO SHOP NEAR ME (FOR FEAR OF DRIVING IT) INSTEAD OF THE DEALERSHIP, THEY ONLY COVERED PART OF THE REPAIR WHICH WAS ABOUT $200 OUT OF MY $550 BILL. DRIVER REAR LIGHT (BACKUP, BLINKER AND BRAKE) LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. WHEN I WAS CHECKING THE BULBS IT APPEARS THAT THE MIDDLE PIN ON THE WIRING HARNESS HAS CAUSED A SHORT THAT BROKE THE PIN AND ALSO MELTED SOME OF THE HARNESS. THE VEHICLE HAS 53,000 MILES ON IT. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OTHER 2016 JEEP RENEGADES THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE IN THE LAST YEAR. WE HAVE HAD INTERMENTANT ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTING SYSTEM FREAKING OUT BUT IT NEVER EFFECTED THE PERFORMANCE AND WOULD RESET ITS SELF AFTER ABOUT 25 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP WE TOOK IT TO SAID THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH THEY DID. IT SEEMED TO CORRECT THAT ISSUE AS IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE IN THE LAST 20,000 MILES OR SO. BUT THIS SEEMS TO BE A BIGGER ISSUE.

THE SECOND TIME, I WAS I WAS DRIVING AND SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, AS I STARTED TURNING MY CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, AGAIN, EVERYTHING LOCKED, AND I ALMOST GOT IT WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. The indoor cloth paneling is peeling off due to cheap adhesive materials used by Jeep manufacturers. The filament inside the cloth paneling is falling out and getting in the air I am breathing in the car. I looked online and it seems this is a problem with many 2015-2017 Jeep Renegades and is said to be a design/material defect. This should be a recall. The head lights and right side parking light flicker and sometimes don’t come on. This may be an electrical issue that other 2015-2017 Jeep Renegade owners document having as well. The dealer wants to charge hundreds of dollars for these repairs when they are Jeep brand defects.

You cannot correctly install this car seat with the provided tethers. The loosen/tighten latch that holds the belt stops functioning the second there is any tension. You can not pull the strap through to get it tight enough to hold the seat in place with the base tether or the anchor tether that goes over the seat back. There is always at least 6 inches of slack and you cannot tighten any tighter to get the seat positioned with no movement. Even the firemen at the fire dept could not install this seat safely or get it tightened past a specific point. They advised me to make this report.

After work I got in my renegade Trailhawk and turned it on as usual to go home. Upon starting up the vehicle, warning lights came on telling me the headlights, tail lights, blinkers, daytime lights, tag lights, parking lights and back up lights were not working or out. I got out and inspected them only to see they were in fact all still functioning as should be. I got someone from the dealership to look at the issue and was told it would be alright, but definitely get the service department to look at it in the morning. I am having it inspected today by the service department and hopefully the issue will be resolved. As an update on this particular issue, I took the Renegade to the Service department the next morning and after just a few minutes I was informed this would be remedied within less than 15 -20 minutes. Apparently there was a new update to the system that was installed by the awesomely knowledgeable crew at Marshall CDJR and I haven’t had any of the same issues since.

there were no warnings on the vehicle to indicate a problem occurring. coming from a complete stop there is a delay in accelerating to speed - feels like a stall and the pedal is not receiving any gas... but the tank is full. dealership never found any issues nor were able to reproduce the same problem. this problem happens multiple times a year. this is dangerous for driving as i'm unable to get to full speed in traffic.

WITH LIMITED TOOLS AT MY DISPOSAL, I CHECKED FOR BATTERY VOLTAGE AND INTAKE RESTRICTION. NO PROBLEMS FOUND. I CHECKED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR FUEL AND HAD 2 LED BARS WITH NO LOW FUEL "DUMMY" LIGHT. CYCLED TO RANGE TILL EMPTY SECTION AND WAS SHOWING 60 MILES TO EMPTY. SO I ASSUMED FUEL WAS NOT THE ISSUE, BUT DIDN'T RULE IT OUT. SINCE SHE HAD ALREADY DRIVEN 60 MILES TO THIS POINT, I ASSUMED IGNITION WAS ALSO NOT A ISSUE. I THEN UNHOOKED THE BATTERY TO RESET ECM/PCM. HOOKED BATTERY BACK UP AND TRIED TO CRANK AGAIN WITH STILL A NO START. I THEN WENT WITH THE EASY ROUTE AND OBTAINED A FUEL CANISTER WITH FUEL AND ADDED 1.5 GALLONS OF FUEL TO THE TANK, WHICH INCREASED FUEL GAUGE TO 3 LED BARS. ONCE ABOVE PREVIOUS 2 LED BARS THE VEHICLE STARTED WITH NO HESITATION. SINCE THIS ISSUE I HAVE LOOKED FOR RECALLS ON PROGRAMMING OR ANY TSB PERTAINING TO THIS ISSUE WITH NO AVAIL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND THE ENGINE VIBRATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANTWERPEN CHRYSLER JEEP (6440 BALTIMORE NATIONAL PIKE, BALTIMORE, MD 21228, (410) 788-2973), BUT IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR FEES. THE CONTACT LIFTED THE HOOD AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A DELAY IN STOPPING THE VEHICLE WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL ALONG WITH A SQUEAKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.

FOR THE LAST YEAR ON AND OFF THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATE( SERVICE AIR BAGS, PARKING BRAKE, ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CABLE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, POWER STEERING LIGHT), ETC. LAST WEEK WE WERE DRIVING WITH THE KIDS, WENT TO PARK, GOT BACK INTO THE VEHICLE, STARTED IT AND ALL THE LIGHTS STARTED GOING OFF. MY HUSBAND TURNED THE KEY TO OFF, PULLED IT OUT, AND THE CAR KEPT RUNNING. WE BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER ONLY TO HAVE THEM REPLACE THE SEATBELT. WE GOT THE CAR BACK AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY. WE WERE DRIVING, ALL THE LIGHTS KEPT GOING OFF, INCLUDING THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WHICH TURNS OFF THE POWER STEERING SO WE PULLED INTO A GAS STATION ONLY TO TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION, PULLED THE KEY OUT AND THE CAR KEPT RUNNING. WE CALLED THE DEALER AND BROUGHT IT BACK IN TO BE SERVICED. THE CAR IS DANGEROUSLY UNSAFE!

A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD AND HEADLIGHTS CONSTANTLY FLICKER, THEY GET REALLY BRIGHT AND THEN THEY DIM DOWN, THE ACCELERATION DOES NOT WORK IF I SLOWDOWN TO 5 MILES PER HOUR OR LESS, IT STALLS UNTIL I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. MY EMERGENCY BREAK, SEAT BELT AND AIRBAG MAINTENANCE LIGHTS GO OFF AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN I FIRST START MY CAR, THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ACCELERATION ISSUE, AND THEY ARE NOT SEEING ERROR CODES FOR THE AIRBAGS, SEAT BELT AND EMERGENCY BREAK BUT THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS AT LEAST 3-4 TIMES WITH NO PERMANENT SOLUTION.

I LOVE MY RENEGADE BUT THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS , FIRST AFTER ONLY HAVING IT FOR A FEW MONTHS BUYING IT DEC 2016 NEW THE FUEL PUMP BROKE AND I RAN OUT OF GAS WHEN IT SAID I HAD A QUARTER TANK. THEN THE DRIVER SEAT BECAME STUCK FORWARD, I THOUGHT I FIXED IT IT WAS FINE NOW IT'S STUCK BACK. I HAVE TO USE A PILLOW BEHIND ME. THEN AT 40,000 MILES JUST ABOUT THE COOLANT FAN STARTED RATTLING AS IF SOMETHING WAS LOOSE, THEN IT STOPPED ALL TOGETHER. WHEN I WAS IN TRAFFIC I HAD TO BLAST THE HEAT BECAUSE THE TEMP GAUGE WOULD GO RED. I CHECKED THE FUSE IT WAS BLOWN SO IT WAS CHANGED AND STILL NO FAN. SO I FIGURED IT'S THE COOLANT FAN RELAY AND THEY AREN'T EASY TO LOCATE. AUTO PARTS STORE AND JEEP PARTS AT THE DEALERSHIP ARE HARD TO TALK TO BECAUSE IT IS A FIAT PART. YOU WOULD THINK THE 2JEEP DEALERSHIPS THAT SELL THEM WOULD KNOW THAT. I TURNED ON MY JEEP RENEGADE WITH THE AUTOMATIC START BUTTON IN LIKE 30 WEATHER. I DROVE IT DOWN THE HIGHWAY FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. I ALSO HAD THE AIR BAG, BRAKE WARNING SIGN TURN ON. I STOPPED TO PUT GAS AND JUST THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE WITH CODE P0128- THERMOSTAT FAILURE. HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED IN CANADA SINCE I AM ON A TEMPORARY WORK PERMIT. SO IT COST ME AN ARM AND A LEG FOR SERVICE. CHECKED ONLINE AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.

I AM REPORTING A POSSIBLE SAFETY PROBLEM THAT HAS DEVELOPED OVER RECENT MONTHS WITH MY 2016 JEEP RENEGADE TRAILHAWK 4X4. THE VEHICLE HAS A RECURRING MALFUNCTION WITH THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT ELECTRICAL WIRING ASSEMBLY. THE PROBLEM OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY AFTER THE SEATBELT IS PROPERLY SECURED AND THERE IS NORMAL BODY MOVEMENT IN THE DRIVER SEAT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS EITHER IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. THE PROBLEM SO FAR AFFECTS SEVERAL OF THE ELECTRONIC SUBSYSTEMS CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE'S DRIVER SEAT. THIS MALFUNCTION HAS CAUSED TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT DISABLING OF THE DRIVER SEAT POWER CONTROLS, AIRBAG SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM AND SEATBELT WARNING SYSTEM.

SEAT BELT LIGHT COMES ON DINGS THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT ALL AT THE SAME TIME. NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO AFFECT THE DRIVING BUT WOULD HAVE NO IDEA IF THE AIRBAGS WOULD DEPLOY CORRECTLY. ALSO TODAY WHILE DRIVING TO WORK THEY ALL STAYED ON THE ENTIRE TIME WHILE DINGING FOR OVER 20 MINS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES WITH NO RESOLVE. SOME SAY IT WILL NOT DO IT THERE SOME SAY THEY FIXED IT BY TAKING OFF THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 40 MINS THAT WORKED FOR LIKE 1 DAY THEN ALL THE LIGHTS ARE BACK. 'TAKATA RECALL' COOLING FAN WENT OUT IN DECEMBER 2017 RECEIVED VEHICLE BACK 2018. HEARD NOISES FROM VEHICLE TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAY THE BRAKES & ROTORS NEED TO BE REPLACE (HOW WHEN IT WAS WITH YOU ALL FOR TWO MONTHS). NOW IT'S OCTOBER 2018, THERMOSTAT IS GOING OUT. WHY WASN'T THIS CAUGHT AT THE TIME OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE COOLING FAN. THEN THE SEAT BELT MYSTERIOUSLY HAVE A CUT OR SOMETHING IN IT AND THEY DON'T COVER IT SO IT WILL BE AN OUT OF POCKET FEE. IT'S UNSAFE TO HAVE A THERMOSTAT GOING OUT AS WELL AS A SEAT THAT HAS A CUT/SPLITTING.

I WAS TOLD THAT IT COULD BE WEEKS BEFORE THE PART ARRIVES. I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT MANY OTHER JEEP RENEGADE OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM, AS WELL AS THE LONG DELAY FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE FOR TEN DAYS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2016 JEEP RENEGADE TRAILHAWK ON A CITY STREET IT BEGAN ACCELERATING RAPIDLY ON ITS OWN. I BEGAN ENGAGING THE BRAKES TO TRY TO SLOW THE VEHICLE INITIALLY AND THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO THE POINT OF REDLINE. I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL BUT THE COMMAND CENTER KEPT OVERRIDING MY INPUT; I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO JAM THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL BY SLAMMING THE PALM OF MY HAND INTO THE SHIFTER DRIVING FORCING THE NEUTRAL SHIFT. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULD OF THE ROAD WHERE THE CAR CONTINUED RUNNING AT REDLINE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO STOMP ON THE ACCELERATOR HOPING TO GET THE VEHICLE TO DISENGAGE. DUE TO THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLS YOU CANNOT TURN THE CAR OFF WHILE IN NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE RUNNING AT SUCH HIGH RPMS. AFTER ROUGHLY 10 ATTEMPTS AT STOMPING ON THE ACCELERATOR HOPING TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RESPOND IT DROPPED TO A STANDARD IDLE. ONLY BEING A SHORT DISTANCE FROM MY NEIGHBORHOOD AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT I LIMPED THE CAR BACK HOME. DURING THAT TIME THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON, THE TEMP SENSOR SPIKED TO MAX TEMP, THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE A/C BEGAN TO BLOW HOT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. UPON SAFELY PULLING IN MY DRIVEWAY IT SMELLED OF A HOT BURNING RUBBER/OIL SMELL AND THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF FLUID LEAKING FROM THE CAR THAT APPEARED TO BE THE SYNTHETIC OIL.

1. TRUNK LID DOES NOT STAY LATCHED. SOME SERIES OF OPENING AND CLOSING DIFFERENT DOORS TYPICALLY RECTIFIES ISSUE. MULTIPLE WITNESSES. INTERMITTENT. NO PATTERN. 2. VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN MAKING TIGHT TURNS INTO TRAFFIC (HEAVY CONSTRUCTION AT MY COMPLEX'S ONLY ENTRANCE/EXIT). VEHICLE ALSO 'TURNS OFF' DESPITE IT BEING IN 'DRIVE' AND MOVING--I RECEIVE A MESSAGE STATING TO PUT FOOT ON BRAKE AND PUSH BUTTON TO START VEHICLE DESPITE IT BEING IN DRIVE AND MOVING. THIS MEANS I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR IN ANGRY TRAFFIC, PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, MOVE SHIFT TO PARK AND THEN RESTART A VEHICLE THAT WAS ALREADY RUNNING. AT LEAST THREE SOFTWARE UPDATES HAVE BEEN SUPPOSEDLY INSTALLED ALONG WITH A MODULE ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE LAST INCIDENT, FOUR HORNS BLARED AT ME AND ONE VEHICLE HIT MY BACK DRIVER QUARTER PANEL/BUMPER. NO ONE STOPPED. THEY JUST DROVE AROUND ME. I DID NOT FILE A POLICE REPORT. I AM NO LONGER GETTING RESPONSES FROM CHRYSLER REGARDING THE TICKET NUMBER. NO ONE WILL DRIVE IN MY VEHICLE WITH ME. THE 'STALLING' ISSUE IS PRIMARILY ON INTERMITTENT RIGHT TURNS. SINCE THE LAST SOFTWARE UPDATE, TURNING LEFT IS NOW BECOMING AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. THIS LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN, THE SERVICE MAN TOUCHED UP THE RED PAINT FROM MY BEING HIT, BUT DID NOTHING ABOUT THE SCRATCHES. SO I AM GOING TO HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM BECAUSE OF A FAULTY VEHICLE HAVING 'COMPUTER ERRORS.' ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESIGNED TO PROVIDE ISSUE CODES, YET THEY KEEP PUTTING SOFTWARE UPDATES. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THIS PROBLEM IS NATIONWIDE AND THAT HE COULDN'T TELL US WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE, BUT AT THIS TIME THERE WAS NOT A RECALL. HE ALSO SAID HE COULDN'T TELL IF THE OVERHEATING DAMAGED THE ENGINE. HIS NAME IS BLACKJACK. HE ENCOURAGED US TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE-WHICH WE HAVE. THEY ESTABLISHED A CASE FOR IT. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THIS DEFAULT, EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOTHING TO CAUSE IT, IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. HE DID OFFER US A DISCOUNT FOR A RENTAL CAR. THESE PROBLEMS BELOW HAPPEN AT RANDOM TIMES: DRIVING CITY, HIGHWAY, PARKED. STARTED AROUND 1300 MILES WHICH WAS AROUND 02/12/2017; LAST TIME I PICKED IT UP FROM THE DEALER WAS 06/30/2017 WHICH THEY HAD IT FOR 10 DAYS. FREEZING CLUSTER, REAR REVERSE CAMERA STAYING ON WHILE IN DRIVE, ALARM GOING ON AND OFF ON ITS OWN. THE MAIN SAFETY CONCERN I HAVE AND HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES IN 6,000 MILES WITH NO SOLUTIONS: IS THE ALARMS OF 'SERVICE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE' ALERT GOING ON WHICH IS 90% TIME PAIRED UP WITH 'SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM' ALERT GOING ON, AND THE SEATBELT WARNING SYSTEM FLASHING ON. SOMETIMES IT WILL CLEAR ITSELF, OTHER TIMES IT WILL CLEAR WHEN I STOP TURN THE CAR OFF, AND THEN BACK ON. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO ERRORS IN THE SYSTEM, AND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE THEY HAD THE VEHICLE. JULY 5 STILL GOING ON MORE FREQUENTLY. I CALLED DEALER TWICE IN THE LAST FIVE DAYS AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE, I HAVE PERSONALLY WITNESSED WHILE WORKING ON A FIRE ENGINE AND AMBULANCE THAT AIR BAGS SOMETIMES DO NOT GET DEPLOYED FOR VARIOUS REASONS, AND THE OUT COME IS SOMETIMES NOT GOOD FOR THE PASSENGERS. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL SOUND AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT RELEASE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED EVERY 3,000 MILES AND TO CHECK THE DIP STICK EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED WITH FUEL. THE NEXT TIME WAS 1 WEEK LATER FOR 5 DAYS WHERE THEY DROVE MY VEHICLE AND ADVISED THEY COULD ONLY PRODUCE THIS INCIDENT ONCE, AND SAID THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE ABS SOFTWARE HAVING THE WRONG DOWNLOAD.THE DEALERSHIP ALSO ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS A PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ERROR CODE IN THE COMPUTER. THE 3RD TIME WAS 2 DAYS AFTER I PICKED UP, AND THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT FOR 7 DAYS, WHERE THEY DROVE MY CAR ALL WEEK AND WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED MAY 16, 2016. ON AUGUST 6, 2016 THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE TRAVELING 60 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE. THE ELECTRONIC TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE LIGHTS SHUTOFF COMPLETELY. IT ONLY TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 20-30 FEET BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON AND STAYED ON. AFTER THE STOP, THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO REMOVE IT FROM THE INTERSTATE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART, DID NOT TURN OVER; ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENED. SHORTLY AFTER THE COMPLETE SHUTOFF, THE VEHICLE WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2016 JEEP RENEGADE LATITUDE ON JUNE 11, 2016. ON JULY 1, 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 400 MILES THE CAR BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION. ON JULY 1, THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED VIA THE PUSH-START IGNITION AND RAN UNTIL THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE POWERED ON, AT WHICH POINT THE CAR SHOOK VIOLENTLY, SEVERAL DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON (ENGINE, PARKING BREAK, ETC.) AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO IDLE HEAVILY AND SHUTTER UNTIL THE ENGINE KILLED. UPON RESTARTING, ONLY THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS SHOWING, SO MY HUSBAND BEGAN TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES LATER, AT TOP SPEEDS OF 40 MPH THE CAR'S ACCELERATOR AND POWER STEERING FAILED AND HE VEERED OFF OF A TWO-WAY HIGHWAY INTO A FIELD. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY "UPDATED THE COMPUTER" AND SENT US ON OUR WAY WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGING THE EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD REGARDING THE FINICKY COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT CONTROLS THE CAR AND CAN FAIL AT ANY MOMENT WITHOUT WARNING. ON JULY 15, THE SATELLITE RADIO SEARCHED FOR A SIGNAL FOR SEVERAL HOURS, WITH NO OTHER SYMPTOMS. ON JULY 17, THE CAR FAILED AGAIN, UPON IGNITION. SEVERAL DASHBOARD INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON THE AND THE CAR COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO ANY GEAR. ON JULY 18 THE CAR WOULD START, BUT NOT SHIFT, AND AGAIN, HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. TODAY IS JULY 18, SO NOW WE'RE PLAYING A GAME OF "WAIT AND SEE" IF ANOTHER COMPUTER UPDATE WILL "FIX" THIS DEATH-TRAP OF A VEHICLE. I FEEL LIKE THIS CAR IS A HAZARD TO US AND ANYONE AROUND US ON THE ROAD OR SIDEWALKS WHERE WE MAY BE FORCED TO VEER OFF TO AVOID A COLLISION IF THE SYSTEM FAILS AGAIN. AFTER 2 DAYS IN THE SHOP, THEY SAID IT WAS (AS POSTED ON THE PAPERWORK RELEASED TO ME) "CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE AND COLD START ROUGH START. FOUND CYLINDER 3 PLUG FOULED OUT POSS FROM MOVING VEHICLE ALL WINTER WITHOUT EVER DRIVING VEHICLE. REPLACED #3 SPARK PLUG, SWAPPED COIL #3 WITH COIL #2 TO SEE IF MISFIRE MOVES TO CYLINDER #2. THIS WAY IF CONDITION IS NOT RESOLVED, I WILL KNOW IF COIL IS BAD OR ENGINE HAS A MECHANICAL PROBLEM. RFH FLASHED AND ABS FLASHED" THEY RELEASED THE CAR TO ME AND SAID IT WAS FIXED AND SAFE. UPON DRIVING TO WORK AT 5 AM, IN THE DARK, I HAD NO EXTERIOR LIGHTS AND COULD ONLY USE MY HIGH BEAMS IF I HELD THEM ON. I HAD NO BACK LIGHTS. CARS APPROACHED VERY CLOSE TO MY CAR AND I HAD NO IDEA WHY. WHEN I GOT TO WORK, I HAD ANOTHER WORKER CHECK THE BACK OF MY CAR AND THERE WERE NO BACK LIGHTS OR BRAKE LIGHTS. I CALLED THE DEALER AND LEFT A MESSAGE AND DROPPED THE CAR OFF AFTER WORK. AFTER FURTHER REVIEW, THEY HAVE NOW TOLD ME THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED....ON A 2016 CAR. RIDICULOUS. THANK YOU *TR
