The thermostat failed prematurely. Car is less than 2 years old and 37,679 miles. About 37,600 at the time of incident. The engine overheated and the car states to pull over immediately. The manual states roughly that permanent engine damage can result so the driver is forced to pull over regardless of condition. I was on a highway with very narrow shoulders with family, two parents and five children. A tsb exists but a recall should be mandated. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11016248-0001.pdf

Vehicle runs hot due to faulty thermostat. This is a very common and known issue but jeep refuses to replace it unless it runs hot and dies. Hundereds or thousands of the 3.0L wagoneer have had this issue. It is potentially dangerous as it can leave you stranded in the roadway in traffic. I attempted to get mine replaced proactively due to it being a well known problem and opened 2 custom complaint cases with jeep. Both times I was told it must fail, run hot and leave me stranded to get it repaired under warranty. Well, just as I assumed it would, it did and left me stranded in the middle of the roadway.

Vehicle suddenly lost power and overheated while driving. Had to get towed to the dealership. Dealer advised that the thermostat had failed, which seems to be a common occurrence with these vehicles. Thermostat was replaced but continued to overheat, leading the dealer to suspect the engine was warped and in need of replacement.

On April 5th, vehicle overheated while driving in city traffic. I was able to pull to side of road where vehicle shut itself off. Prior to this event I noticed sluggish engine response and ac had stopped blowing cold air. I waited about 5-10 minutes and restarted vehicle. Sat at idle for 5 minutes with out any warnings or previous indications of an issue. Then received momentary warning of low oil pressure. I shut vehicle off and had it towed to dealership. Dealership was able recreate problem during diagnosis drive. Identified faulty thermostat. The dealership stated 3 wagoners were ahead of me with similar issues and are waiting on parts. The dealership is limited on how many thermostats they can order per week. Based on parts and labor timeline I will likely be without vehicle for 3-4 weeks.

Vehicle overheated to 261 degrees F, stated oil pressure was low, alarms were chiming and flashing, so vehicle was pulled off road and turned off. I was only about 3 minutes from our dealership, so I turned it back on after 30 minutes, temperatures seemed okay, let it idle for 20 minutes, and attempted to drive to the dealership. Within 30 seconds of being back on the road, the vehicle overheated again. I turned off the road attempting to get into a parking lot where I would have the vehicle towed from, and the vehicle shut itself down when I attempted to leave the stop sign, and rolled me into the middle of the intersection and stopped, leaving me openly vulnerable to collision with oncoming traffic. After about 1 minute, the vehicle allowed me to restart it and accelerate enough to get myself out of the intersection and into a parking lot where the vehicle was towed from.

For the past five months, the vehicle has stalled nearly every other day, including while backing out of driveways or parking spaces and when slowing to stop. Each time, the engine suddenly shuts off without warning, the transmission automatically shifts into Park, and the emergency brake engages. An engine warning light appears with a “battery fault” message. The repeated engine shutdowns and automatic braking create a serious safety risk, particularly when backing into traffic or stopping at intersections. In several instances, the vehicle would not restart for several minutes, leaving it disabled in the roadway. The vehicle has been taken twice to the authorized Jeep dealership in Stonecrest, Georgia, but the service department was unable to reproduce or correct the issue. The problem persists, and the “battery fault” light continues to appear intermittently. I am writing to formally request your assistance regarding my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer— [XXX] — which has experienced extensive and repeated mechanical failures that have placed my safety—and the safety of my young children—in serious jeopardy. This was purchased new. In December, I went through arbitration regarding these issues. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful, largely because I did not have legal representation and was unable to adequately represent myself. Since that time, the problems have continued, and the vehicle remains dangerous and unreliable. I am fearful this vehicle is going to end up costing our family our lives. One of the most recent alarming incidents resulted in me sustaining a black eye due to unexpected, random braking— this was in late July. In addition, there have been ongoing and unresolved issues with the four-wheel-drive system, despite nine separate repair attempts. The rear differential has been replaced four times, and the front transfer case has also been replaced—yet the problems persist. To date, my vehicle has undergone over 40 documented repair attempts and has spent more than 250 days in the dealership for repairs. Despite these efforts, it is clear that the vehicle cannot be properly repaired and continues to pose a serious risk. Given the severity, frequency, and duration of these failures, I believe this case warrants urgent attention under Arkansas consumer protection and lemon law statutes. I respectfully request that your office review my case and take any appropriate actions to ensure my family’s safety and my rights as a consumer. I can provide full service records, repair invoices, and documentation from the arbitration process upon request. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer on 12 Jun 2025 I stopped at an intersection preparing to make a right turn. When I took my foot off the brake and prepared to accelerate, the vehicle abruptly turned off and lost all power and control. The instrument cluster said to shift to park in order to restart. I was able to restart the vehicle and drove it immediately to the Jeep dealership service. The dealership immediately scanned it, but was unable to diagnose the issue. We drove the vehicle back to our home and are now afraid to drive it due to concern over the vehicle shutting down while driving.

While at a stop light, with start/stop active, I released the brake, which should have "reactivated" the car. Instead, it shut down. I got a quick transmission service error on the dash. Once I put the car in park and turned it off and then on again, it functioned properly. I. The meantime I was being honked at from everyone missing the green light behind me.

I bought this vehicle used form Carmax, <12000 miles. Drove about 12 miles, when while parking I noticed the car stopped and asked to start engine and engage gear again. Didn't think much of it. Then started driving again and the check engine light turned on. There are lots of reports of wagoneers with engine light problems (in fact we had test driven a different one with both check engine and transmission lights on which for obvious reasons didn't buy). I reported to Carmax. Finished my drive and stayed idle for a while trying to see if there were any settings that may be responsible, but the engine was stuttering, almost shutting off, with the entire thing, even the driving lights shutting off intermittently. The following day I took the vehicle for a check at Carmax, and while slowing at an intersection to let a school bus pass, the car completely shut down. I started again and drove very carefully. They could not diagnose the problem at Carmax and they wanted to send to Jeep. I eventually returned the vehicle. I had seen reports of many problems with the 2022 Wagoneer model, but none about the 2023, but I now came across forums where people even describe complete shutdowns of the vehicle while driving in the highway. While I returned the vehicle, I think these serious engine and system failures could endanger others on the road. I took videos and pictures of the problems. Happy to share if you request them.

Speedometer read zero while driving on the interstate and RPMs felt as if they were off. New electrical cluster and new battery by Jeep have already been replaced claiming it would resolve this issue.
Nov 25, 2025
Speedometer & gauges will randomly blackout and not work and it causes the engine to do funny things while driving. Battery drains from the issues (stranded twice even after new batteries installed). Rear view camera sometimes glitches as well and freezes up.
Oct 06, 2025
Vehicle speedometer has randomly blacked out on numerous occasions not allowing me to see any of my gauges. While driving on the interstate and merging the vehicle has stalled and RPMS stay stagnant yet you can hear the engine revving & then it acts like it will catch up. While driving up hill the vehicle began to stall almost like it was towing something when it was not. Back up camera has failed to turn on (resolved its self after I restarted the car). When I take it into the dealer error codes never seem to pop for these issues even though it tells me to see dealer, and read manual for proper oil and fuel usage. It’s like it has a mind of its own and it worries me to continue driving my three children around when electrical issues randomly happen every month or so & it needs constant updating. Both batteries have been replaced due to these issues draining the life out of them.

My 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L has a serious defect. While making a normal adjustment to the rearview mirror, the entire mirror assembly broke off the windshield and pulled pieces of the glass with it. There was no impact, no accident, and no excessive force—this happened during a routine adjustment while parked. The mount clearly failed, not the driver. This leaves the mirror unusable, damages the windshield, and creates a safety hazard. I’ve since discovered that other Wagoneer owners are reporting the same issue. I’m requesting warranty or goodwill coverage for repair/replacement, as this is a factory defect in the mirror mount or adhesive, not typical glass damage.

My sun visor falls down while I’m driving. It’s happened multiple times which can cause me to wreck or not see the road.
Oct 17, 2025
The front windshield has a very noticeable warp under the rear view mirror. Enough to cause vertigo while driving. Many forums explain this issue has been reported to Jeep but no resolution has been proposed by them.

The Wagoneer with 20,000 miles very suddenly started to overheat, then quickly redlined on the dash board. Car shut down at dark night intersection. Needed to be towed to dealer. Dealer diagnosed that the ENGINE needs to be replaced. WTF. Waiting for Jeep Claims rep to contact me. Case # 94698805. No word on ETA of replacement engine. Expecting a long term rental car. NOT HAPPY I'm financing at $800 per month car in shop for who knows how long. Dealer claims they have 2 other Wagoneers on the lot with same engine verdict. Is there a BUY BACK policy available? lol.

While driving the vehicle the oil engine light came on as well as a front collision warning lamp. The car then would not go into a higher gear. The air condition shut off and the car started making an electric type of noise and started slowing down and eventually stopped leaving myself and my two children stranded. This put both myself and my two children at risk. We had to get transportation home and get the car towed to the dealership and they confirmed that it is a malfunction of the thermostat which they relayed is a KNOWN ISSUE with this model of car and its engine. There has been a recall with Jeep, but only with a portion of its vehicles and my VIN was not included.

Two incidences, one week apart, of car turning itself off while stopped at a red light. While stopped at the light, the a sensor flashed and the car automatically shifted from “drive” to “park.” Entire car electrical system shut off. Driver was unable to shift back to drive, and was required to turn the car off while in a traffic lane, to then restart car to drive.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the parking brake was independently engaged. Additionally, the front driver’s and rear passenger’s side windows would independently lower while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle would jerk while depressing the accelerator pedal, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact would restart the vehicle after each failure to resume normal operation. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where the vehicle was serviced. Despite the initial repair, the parking brake and jerking persisted with the check engine warning light illuminated after each repair. After one visit, the check engine warning light returned soon after exiting the dealer parking lot and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer for service. The contact stated that the catalytic converters were replaced, and several electrical features were reset; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

My car recently hit 10k miles. We had a safe trip to Florida the week before no issues or signs of any issue. Two days ago I take my son to the pool at my mother in laws house and go to visit my parents and when I start to leave and pull out of the driveway my car stops and my steering wheel won’t turn but a certain amount. So I had to pull back and try multiple times. Every time I turn the wheel a certain amount it starts to sound like something is slowly cracking under the car. And the car just stops moving if you try to turn the wheel too much. I continue on my way home in Canton, Ga from Woodstock, Ga which is about a thirty minute drive and I have to take wide turns in order to make any turn and not get stuck or stopped. Vehicle works fine going straight but I literally cannot turn my wheel to a certain point or the car stops. It is at the dealership now and they can’t make it do the same thing day after they get into it but I sent them videos as it was happening because my neighbors had to help me park it in my driveway when I got home so I got it on recording how it stops and doesn’t turn properly. I have videos I can provide it will not let me upload

2023 Jeep Wagoneer steering wheel became locked with alerts on the dashboard "Power Steering Unavailable Service Required." Thank GOD I parked in a parking lot when I went food shopping. This has happened twice before to my wife in the garage but no alerts came out. I spent two hours stuck and 1 hour waiting for a tow truck. It was a cold day and after the heat to the seats and steering were on, the steering became soft and I was able to steer the car home. I took car to dealership the next day and they gave me a loaner. Two days later I went to the dealership to find out what is going on. They said it may be up to six weeks to get a part. As per the rep who I know very well, she said there have been 59 reports across US and there are only 19 parts available. It is a module issue but it is built into the steering wheel column. I read other reports and they are scary [XXX] I had a problem with a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica owned by the same Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler manufacturer. SERVICE BRAKES
2 complaints
This vehicle has a persistent brake fluid leaking problem. Anytime the vehicle is parked at a ~ 7% incline, where the front of the car is lower than the rear, the car leaks material amounts of brake fluid. The dealer has tried many times (over 4 times) to fix the issue by replacing all relevant parts… it still leaks. Based on my observations, there appears to be a design flaw in the brake fluid reservoir and the reservoir cap, it can not keep the fluid in the system. The risks arising from the persistent leaks include: 1.) catastrophic brake failure due to insufficient fluid in the system, 2.) fire risk, engine compartment has flammable brake fluid places it should not be, 3.) environmental contamination risk, and 4.) slip and fall risk from leaving slippery puddles of hazardous material ever place this vehicle is parked on an incline.
Jan 18, 2024
Leaks break fluid when parked at an angle (nose facing down hill). Heat seems to be a factor because it leaks more on hot days. The dealer has tried to remedy the problem no fewer than 4 times, replacing many major components. There appears to be a design flaw in the master cylinder area as that is where the brake fluid keeps leaking from. I have to imagine if you keep losing break fluid it is a safety issue and an environmental one.

Driving on 129 in hamilton ohio at 6 am I hit debri in the road wrapped in black plastic I didn’t see it until it was too late. It was dark outside.911 operator knew it was there but didn’t have police there with lights on to let drivers know. It was in both lanes on my side of road I hit it and tore up the front end. I still dont know what I hit and haven’t heard back from police others hit it too. This was a rental car I was driving. Is there a way I can get reimbursed for the damages I had to report to my insurance since the police knew it was In the road and didn’t not have anyone marking it?

Crash: 1
This incident occurred today when I was on the slower lane and moved to the left lane in order to accelerate. The transmission didn't respond to my acceleration as a result the gear wouldn't shift to higher level and my vehicle remained stuck at the lower level. This could have been catastrophic to my family if there traffic was moving faster but because of slow moving traffic I was able to pull it over the shoulder and put it in neutral and then was able to drive. I haven't shown this issue to the dealer yet. I have checked about this problem online and multiple people have reported the same issue and dealership couldn't fix it. It happens when I have to accelerate from a 10 miles per hour to a higher speed. No, th vehicle hasn't been inspected by police or insurance or manufacturer. No failure was displayed anywhere.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that a system update was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred within several months. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the entire instrument cluster became inoperable, with the speedometer remaining at 0 MPH, or the message to "Depress Brake Pedal to Start Vehicle" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer on several occasions, where it was diagnosed and determined that both batteries needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred within a month or two. The contact stated that on one occasion, the electrical cluster was replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred within a month. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
The vehicle was bought June 2023, starting September 2023 we have had continual electrical problems. The blind spot warning system constantly activates and takes over. The automatic braking system randomly activates for no reason. The car will go into full braking and stop. This will happen at all speeds to include highway speeds. Now I am getting check engine lights and the code changes every time the light activates. When we take it to the dealership for service all we get is "we can't replicate the issue" and nothing is fixed. I ran a Car Fax and found that instead of coding the problem that it was brought in for, Jeep has coded it as maintenance inspection or electrical system checked. This is even when modules, radios or electrical systems have been replaced. I have a feeling that Jeep is coding this way to avoid recalls or to hide problems. I would think this constitutes fraud. My Jeep has serious electrical issues that Jeep will not address. I am stuck driving it as it is my only vehicle.

When starting the vehicle, the instrument panel cluster freezes on the start screen, eliminating the ability to see fuel level, speed, engine temperature. This has been reported to the dealership and examined by them. Although this was reported months ago, there has been no communication from the dealership. The dealer indicated that I am not alone in having this issue. Thankfully, it has always reset to date, but it is not safe to drive when in this configuration. There are no warnings before it happens. There is no pattern as to when it happens.

1 complaint
Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced a serious and recurring safety issue: when towing, the trailer lights work for approximately five minutes before a portion of them blackout. This failure renders towing both unsafe and illegal, as it compromises visibility and compliance with traffic laws. To date, my vehicle has been into the dealership three separate times for the same issue: 1.First Visit: I was told the problem was with my trailers. I paid to have both inspected, and both were confirmed to be in proper working order. 2.Second Visit: I was informed that a software issue had been identified and corrected through an update. The issue persisted immediately afterward. 3.Third Visit: I was recently told that Jeep is now aware of this as a known vehicle software defect and that there is currently no resolution available. This situation is unacceptable. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation that it would safely perform its advertised towing functions. Instead, I am left with a vehicle that cannot legally or safely tow — the very purpose for which it was purchased.

Service brakes because the brakes engaged on their own while reversing, with no obstruction present. Power Train because the transmission downshifting unexpectedly in traffic, forcing us to pull over on the highway and restart the engine. Electrical because the rear camera blackouts while reversing fall under "back over prevention" and sometimes also electrical system. Engine because the oil pump solenoid failure with a complete oil pump replacement occurred. It's also an engine lubrication system failure which can cause catastrophic engine damage and loss of power.

WHEELS
1 complaint
2023 Jeep Wagoneer Series III 4x4 ~34,582 miles. Service dates: Aug 18–20, 2025. Work included a 4-wheel rotation on Aug 19. Vehicle is equipped with aftermarket Fuel Off Road D679 REBEL wheels that use spacers, sold with the pre-owned vehicle by a licensed dealer. What failed: After the rotation, the front-right wheel fasteners lost clamp load on drive from dealership. On inspection, four of six lug nuts were very loose/near removal and the wheel could be moved laterally by hand. Suspected contributors: (1) misalignment of polyurethane spacer during re-installation, leading technician to believe wheel fasteners were “torqued-to-spec,” and (2) interaction between spacer/wheel seating surfaces and the hub during movement. All components are available for inspection upon request. Video of the condition and photographs of the spacer are available; the dealer reports relevant in-shop CCTV exists. Safety risk: Loss of clamp load during vehicle operation created sufficient lateral wheel movement to be felt as wobble/thumping of steering wheel, with risk of wheel separation/loss of control. Reproduction/confirmation: The dealer confirmed the issue, and reported findings to customer. According to the Service Manager, the post-incident follow-up inspection (Aug 20) found the front-right spacer had shifted off-center during the tire rotation service, allowing the wheel to reach false-secure position and the fasteners to reach a proper torque without properly seating. This led to clamp-load loss as the spacer re-seated in subsequent vehicle operation, particularly as speeds increased. Inspections performed: The dealer inspected the vehicle on Aug 20 after towing back to the Jeep dealership. Customer has notified manufacturer of this incident and is awaiting response. Warnings/symptoms: No vehicle warnings. Around 1 mile into the drive from dealership, a slight wobble and then a repeating thump developed, that worsened by arrival at destination, prompting inspection.

The thermostat failed, causing the vehicle to overheat and die on a US highway with multiple passengers inside. The vehicle subsequently needed to be towed to the dealer for service. This is a known issue but Jeep has not issued a recall. There is a customer satisfaction campaign (CSN 26B) in regard to thermostat failure, but this VIN has not been included, despite having the same engine/year known to have a defective thermostat. The overheating was a safety issue that came on suddenly and stranded the driver and passengers away from home. The warning light for engine temperature came on within a minute of the engine shutting down leaving little time to park safely along the highway.

In June of 2024 the engine hot and oil pressure low light came on in the middle of a busy intersection and the car went limp had to get it towed to dealer. They replaced engine thermostat. The power steering and brake light came on with a red exclamation point and I was unable to barely move the wheel and had to continue another mile until highway exit. If the highway curbed could have been deadly. Towed it to Jeep and they said upon checking it all looks good. Immediately after getting off of the expressway on the drive to work, there is a stop light at the intersection of city streets. While sitting at the stop light, foot on the brake, the vehicle stopped running, the brake pedal went to the floor, and the Service Power Steering warning screen was flashing and chiming. I immediately put my hazard lights on to warn oncoming traffic that I wouldn't be proceeding, because at that point the light changed to green and people behind me were letting off their brakes and rolling forward. After about 45 seconds to 1 minute, the vehicle showed a screen that said to place foot on brake and press ignition to start the vehicle. I was able to start the vehicle again, but the power steering warning light was still on. I had the vehicle towed from the street parking near my job. If the incident had happened 45 seconds prior, I'd have been still on the expressway in heavy rush hour traffic and would have been hit if my vehicle came to a dead stop or lost brake or steering control with no prior warning. The vehicle had just been serviced 2 weeks prior for thermostat failure and stalling, leaving me in an intersection. The latent defects presenting themselves on this vehicle are creating a multitude of near miss safety issues that are being minimized by Stellantis and their "customer care" representatives.

Engine overheated and oil pressure low warnings came on suddenly and lost power. I had my two grandkids and was on a dark country road with ditches and no shoulders. Thermostat failed, which is a known problem but my VIN wasn’t listed on the 26b notice. Engine was damaged beyond repair. It took three weeks for them to replace the engine. The morning after I picked up the Wagon, the brake warning light came on when the grandkids were in it again. The dealership told me to have it towed. They said they spilled brake fluid when they replaced the engine and refilled it. I paid nearly 100k for this unsafe car! There is no excuse for not replacing a cheap $50 thermostat to avoid this issue. Why haven’t they issued a recall? This Jeep has gone back to the dealership 3 times for dangerous Undrivability, twice on the back of a tow truck, and third time retrieved by the dealer for repair. It has endangered my family on multiple occasions, each for a different reason, making this car unsafe to have my family drive in. It is less than one year old. Only 1 month after purchasing, it died in a parking lot with my family in the car. It had to be put on a flatbed back to the dealer for a computer replacement. The second time, it died in my driveway and again had to be brought on a flatbed to the dealer. The third incident was the most dangerous and the incident that must be flagged. With my kids in the car, my wife came to a stop sign. The car shook and jittered, the entertainment system went out, and the headlights flashed. A driver at the intersection thought my wife had "flashed the lights" and proceeded into the intersection, nearly causing an accident. I had the dealership come and get it, they applied a fix for the engine start-stop recall and said that likely fixed it. This car is unreliable and unsafe, and Jeep refuses to buyback the car, telling me only to start arbitration. They have refused to even give me a manager, and not returned all my calls.

Our problems started with getting a message that said "check user manual for proper fuel and oil" when we accelerated. We just thought that was a warning sign, discussed this with the car dealership, and we were indeed using the correct fuel. When on the interstate going 70mph the car started rocking back and forth with the check engine light turned on. Took it to the dealership and they said it was computer updates, whichever helped for a couple months and then we continued to get the same message. Throughout our entire year and a 1/2 having the car, our tailgate has managed to fail four times now.The trunk has opened while driving, having stuff fall on the highway. We have gotten stuck places with the trunk not being able to shut. While driving on the highway, the power steering light turned on and the wheel locked up, I had to coast off the road at a corner. We are at the point where we are now 5000 miles over our warranty, driving down the highway once again, and the car started overheating. It said the the oil temp was low, and the coolant temp was high, but had the proper amount of coolant and oil in the car just even had the oil changed. We let the car cool down and luckily were luckily we were a couple blocks from the dealership. Drove a little further and the car overheated again, so my husband literally pushed the car where I coasted down the road to the parking spot. Over the year and a half we have also had the AC fail multiple times along with the back up camera. Also, one morning woke up to the car being dead, no lights were left on. Dealership is being very shady. I told them we will be looking into a lawyer and now they won't give me any documentation about my car. They said it's a faulty thermostat and the engine possibly could be bad but they won't know until the thermostat is fixed. Car back latch is also failing again while it sits at the dealership. I refuse to pay for this car. It's not safe. Complete piece of crap.

On the highway and interstate highway, during stop in stop-and-go traffic, the vehicle randomly automatically shifts into park and apply the parking brakes when attempting to accelerate from standstill. This only happens when you try to move again after stopping, and the vehicle is shifted into park in the most inopportune times. It requires you not only to shift it back to drive with your right hand, and reaching under the dash with your left hand to release the parking brake. When task saturated during an emergency it is highly likely to cause an accident, such as turning left onto a divided country highway while the car is temporally stopped between the two highways. No dealership involvement yet. This occurs randomly, and I have not been able to find a way to replicate it at will. This has occurred more than a dozen of times. Warning light on the dash stating shifting the car into park, and audible beep. Dangerous because it occurs randomly on a highway. Unsure if it's related to automatic engine stopping, or adaptive cruise control.

The vehicle will throw itself in the park and shut off and not restart in the middle of traffic. It's not even stopped. You can hear the parking pin trying to engage until it slows to a point and then it'll slam on and lock up the brakes and skid to a stall. This has happened four times now and the vehicle has been in the shop the entire summer. Someone is going to get killed from this.

I have a 2023 Wagoneer L - series II carbide. On 2 separate occasions my Wagoneer has powered down and put itself into park. 7/22/24 - Pulling out of a parking lot, and as I was pulling out alerts popped up and put itself into park. I turned the vehicle off and on again, and proceeded to put the vehicle in drive and it instantly put itself into park. I again, restarted the vehicle and was able to drive. 7/23/24 - I pulled out of a parking lot onto the road. As I was driving on the road (going about 20 MPH) the alerts appeared and as I was trying to get over out of traffic, the car powered down and slammed itself into park. This time I was able to press the start button for it to start and was able to drive it.

Vehicle dash board lights up with trailer brake assist and brakes on highway while going 60+ speed. It does it periodically with no warn and becoming more frequent as I have been driving. I have stressed to the dealership since Jan about this issue and the safety. The lane assist keeps turning off and tells me to get service. Dealership says it is fixed but two days later still acting up.

AIR BAGS
1 complaint
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated while her husband was driving 55 MPH, the front end of the vehicle crashed into a guard rail; however, the air bags failed to deploy. The contact's husband did not sustain any injuries. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle was damaged and the damage was half an inch away from impacting the engine. The vehicle was towed to an auto collision repair center, where it remained. The dealer was notified of the failure. The dealer informed the contact the air bags did not deploy due to the position of the sensors in the front end of the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a third-party technician, who took photos of the damage and read the EDR. The technician then determined that the air bags did not have to deploy. The failure mileage was unknown.

After very minor accident the car crash symbol and the car in lane symbol came on and will not turn off. Took to dealer and they said there was no update to correct the problem. Feel unsafe in a car that should be safe since it's new. And has error message of limited functionality.

BACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
Driving vehicle with no vehicles within 100 yards directly in front of vehicle and with 1 car in the lane to vehicles right on a 2-lane road. Vehicle on the right was about 30-40 car lengths ahead of my own vehicle. The collision detection system and emergency braking system sounded off, lit up the dash panel stating BREAK, and then applied the brakes while going 50 mph with drivers behind me. The driver behind me had to swerve onto the left median to avoid colliding with my vehicle. The obvious issue here is that no vehicle was within any distance that should have triggered my collision avoidance system, but yet it went off unexpectedly and almost caused the person behind me to wreck their vehicle into mine. No check engine light or other service lights were on at the time of this event or subsequent events I have experience since this first event occurring. Called Wagoneer Client services who told me that all reports they receive are not reviewed by Stellantis even if they are a safety issue. I called the dealership after receiving this information from the Wagoneer client services and took my vehicle in to be looked at. Dealer stated because no freeze frame trouble data existed this must not be an issue and determined it was not having issues. Vehicle since being taken in has suffered from numerous electrical issues and has been out of service for weeks without rectifying. This however is a major safety issue and thus I feel needs to be researched and looked into.

Panoramic sunroof exploded while driving on freeway in good weather conditions. The only thing preventing the glass from falling on my head and my son's was the screen underneath the sunroof. The extremely loud and unexpected sound caused by the glass exploding was incredibly disorienting while in traffic traveling at approximately 65 mph. This could have caused an accident. There was no debris falling on the car that would have caused this damage, and we were not traveling under a bridge at the time of the event. I brought the vehicle to my local Jeep dealer in Torrance, CA. It has not yet been inspected by the dealer or manufacturer.
