When refueling and the pump shuts off, fuel with then leak back our and will run down the side of the jeep onto the ground. This is a large fire hazard, and there was previously a recall for 2007 and 2008 for this. The dealership states that they have never heard of this, and will not look at it without a full workup and paying up front. This issue is not safe, and I am thinking about getting rid of the vehicle completely due to this. There are are only 77,000 miles on this now so it isn't like I abuse the vehicle

As you were fueling the vehicle it will spit fuel back at you and poor fuel all over the ground and me, many people have this problem there is a recall from 2007 to 2008 but not 2009 through 2010 even though they have the same exact very dangerous issue

Upon fueling the vehicle and the fueling process stops, the Jeep spits back about 1/2 gallon of fuel, all over the vehicle, the ground and the fuel station.

Plastic rollover valve on gas tank dry out cracked which is modeled to tank can not be replaced which means you have to replace the gastank for what looks like a 5 dollar part. Will not past smog because of this issue.

The design of the fuel tank installed in the 2010 Jeep Wrangler is faulty, The plastic utilized in the manufacture of the gasoline and evaporation fittings is of an inferior material and it can not withstand heat and low humidity. The plastic tends to dry out, crack and crumble, creating fuel and vapor leaks, which could result in a fire or explosion. I have had to replace the gas tank on my 2010 Wrangler in July 2017, at odometer reading 94944 and again in January 2023 with an odometer reading of 161599.

In March 2015 the BAS ESP (traction control and stability light)warning light came on. It stayed on for several miles and then went off. This happened numerous times. On April 23, 2025 Parker Automotive Service Center removed the steering wheel and replaced the Clockspring. In May the BAS ESP again came on, Parker Automotive recalibrated the Clockspring which has the steering angle sensory built in. In Aug 2025 the BAS ESP light again came on and on August 14, 2025 Parker Automotive replaced the Clockspring under warranty. In September 2025 the BAS ESP came on again. On October 2 2025 Parker Automotive found a Safety recall M31/NHTSA 13V-176 Airbag System Clockspring and advised me to go to the Jeep dealer. Which I did and was told my vehicle was not among the recalled ones. Research shows that m31/NHTSA was replaced by S40/NHTSA. My records show that I “paid” Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Tucson to replace the Clockspring-steering column controls ten years ago on October 22, 2015. It is concerning that when the BAS ESP warning light is on the airbag will not deploy. Does the recall need to be expanded to include additional vehicles? The Clockspring in my vehicle has been replaced now 3 times.

Jeep Wrangler JK is required to replace clockspring due to dust that could compromise airbag circut causing potential non-deployment of the driver airbag. Currently, the jeep is available for inspection. Non deployment of the airbag can cause bodily harm or life threating injuries that put at risk driver and others. Jeep owner bring multiple times the vehicle to the dealership but they didn't have part available and never is been fixed. The vehicle has been inspected from multiple technicians at differents dealership. Airbag warning is showing in the dashboard of the vehicle since 2016.

This vehicle was recalled in 2016 for defective airbag clock spring replacement and I had the recall work done in early 2017. In June of 2021, the airbag warning lamp came on and a scan showed that the airbag clock spring (which had been replaced under the recall in 2017) was defective. I took the vehicle to the local Jeep/Chrysler dealer and was told that they only warranty recall related parts for 2 years, which had already expired, and that I was responsible for FULL payment to get the clock spring replaced. It is incomprehensible to me that an official NHTSA recall that resulted in replacing a supposedly defective part with another part that proved defective would not be covered by the original recall at Jeep/Chryslers expense. Serious injury or death could occur to myself and other passengers if the airbags are not properly deployed in a collision. An additional recall should be issued for owners of all Jeep vehicles that had a defective part replaced with another defective part.

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while refueling the vehicle, fuel spilled down the side of the vehicle. The contact stated that he was an independent mechanic that diagnosed a faulty fuel check valve in the filler neck. The contact stated that the filler neck needed to be replaced; however, the vehicle was not repaired because the dealer and the manufacturer would not sell the contact the part since the vehicle was not included in a TSB or recall. The contact related the failure to NHTSA ID Number: 10037960 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no assistance was offered. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.

The consumer stated the fuel skid plate is the only the piece holding the fuel tank in the vehicle.

I HAVE A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA. MY WRANGLER AS A DEFECT ON THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING IT TO VIOLENTLY POP OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE (EVERY SINGLE TIME). LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE, I HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS VERY COMMON WITH THE 2010 MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS, YET THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ISSUED REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION- EVEN THOUGH IT CAN BE DANGEROUS. BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT, I HAVE TO START MY JEEP IN SECOND GEAR CAUSING EXTRA WEAR AND TEAR ON MY CLUTCH. ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP, IN ORDER TO FIX THE ISSUE, I WILL HAVE TO EITHER COMPLETELY REBUILD MY TRANSMISSION OR GET A NEW ONE (IN THE TSB THAT CHRYSLER PUT OUT REGARDING THE ISSUE, ONLY THE 1-2 SYNCHRONIZER ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO REPAIR THE ISSUE.) JEEP WILL NOT HOLD FIRST GEAR IN. EVERY TIME IT IS PUT INTO FIRST GEAR, THE SHIFTER IS KICKED OUT. THE CLUTCH WAS PUSHED IN COMPLETELY WHEN PUT INTO GEAR AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. THE ISSUE USUALLY HAPPENS AT ABOUT 5 MPH AND BELOW AND SOMETIMES WHEN COMPLETELY STOPPED. THIS ISSUE HAS NEARLY CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE INABILITY TO BE ABLE ACCELERATE AS NEEDED. ONE OF THE "SOLUTIONS" IS TO USE SECOND GEAR TO TAKE OFF AND COMPLETELY BYPASS THE FIRST GEAR WHICH WILL SPEED UP THE WEAR ON THE CLUTCH CAUSING PREMATURE REPLACEMENT.

MY WIFE PARKED OUR JEEP AT THE TOP OF DRIVEWAY. CAR WAS PLACED IN PARK AND SHE GOT OUT OF THE CAR. SHE WENT TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF THEN BACK SEAT AND COULD NOT OPEN THE DOORS. SHE REALIZED THE KEYS WERE IN THE IGNITION AND SHE SHUT THE CAR OFF AND PULLED OUT THE KEYS. WHEN SHE DID THIS, THE JEEP STARTED ROLLING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY DRAGGING HER ALONG. VEHICLE THREW HER AND RAN OVER BOTH LEGS AND HAD OTHER INTERNAL INJURIES AS WELL AS SEVERE CONCUSSION.

The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuse box panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. However, the manufacturer informed the contact that it was a known failure and referred him to NHTSA. I WAS RETURNING HOME FROM THE GROCERY STORE AND WAS DRIVING ON A PAVED CITY STREET WITH NO POTHOLES, SPEED-BUMPS, OR OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS. AS I MADE A LEFT TURN INTO OUR DRIVEWAY I HEARD A NOISE AND THEN SUDDENLY THE JEEP TURNED HARD RIGHT AND I HIT ANOTHER CARE PARKED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF OUR DRIVEWAY. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING. UPON INSPECTION, I NOTICED THAT THE STUD COMING FROM THE STEERING GEAR BOX HAD SHEARED IN HALF BETWEEN THE STEERING GEAR BOX AND THE PITMAN ARM. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I DID THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. ALSO, THIS JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID I NEED TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THE CASTING SAND FROM THE MOTOR HAS CLOGGED UP THE HEATER COIL. THE JEEP DEALER IN AUGUSTA, GA SAID I NEED TO SPEND OVER $3000 TO HAVE THE RADIATOR, HEATER COIL AND OTHER ITEMS TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. THE PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS HOT BUT THE DRIVERS SIDE BLOWS ICE COLD.

DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY HEATER STOPPED BLOWING HOT AIR ON THE DRIVER SIDE VENT AND THEN 20 MINUTES LATER MY HEATER CORE EXPLODED COOLANT ALL THROUGH MY PASSENGER FOOTWELL, AND STEAMED THE ENTIRE INTERIOR OF MY JEEP. LEAVING THE WINDSHIELD FOGGED OVER AND ME DANGEROUSLY PULLING OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON REOCCURRING MANUFACTURES DEFECT.

Track bar bracket broke off at 65 mph due to violent steering death wobble. I had no steering when track bar bracket welds broke off axle. No Sterring. Yes, independent. Had to have vehicle toed on flatbed. Yes, Insurance said they will not cover catastrophic failure of the steering or the damage. No warnings other than dramatic front-end vibration that broke off the metal bracket.

I HAVE WHAT IS KNOWN AS A 'DEATH WOBBLE' AT ANY TIME MY JEEP GOES INTO A SEVERE WOBBLE OF THE FRONT AXLE AND STEERING. I WAS IN 3RD GEAR GOING 30 MPH SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP SIGN, WHEN THE JEEP WENT INTO THE 'DEATH WOBBLE'. IT IS SO SEVERE IT FEELS LIKE THE FRONT END IS GOING TO BREAK APART. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS IS TO TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS AND PUT THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME NOT TO EVER PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, BECAUSE THAT CAN CAUSE EVEN MORE DAMAGE. MY MECHANIC AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY JEEP DOESN'T WANT TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE OF SAFETY. JEEP JUST TOLD ME THAT YES THEY HAVE HEARD OF THIS COMPLAINT BUT THEY USUALLY KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. BUT IT WILL COST ME A LOT OF MONEY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SURRENDERED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT SOMEONE WAS INVESTIGATING AND WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.

WHEN REACHING SPEEDS OF 45MPH AND ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL STARTS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. WHEN THIS STARTED, A MECHANIC SAW NOTHING WRONG EXCEPT FOR A WORN OUT STEERING STABILIZER, SO HE REPLACED IT. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, BUT NOW IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I HIT A BUMP IN ROAD WHEN TRAVELING ABOVE 50MPH. I TOOK IT TO A SECOND MECHANIC AND HE INSTALLED AN AFTERMARKET TRACK BAR AND BALANCED THE WHEELS. THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON OCCURRENCE WITH JEEPS, YET THE MANUFACTURER HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT IT. MY VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY STOCK, EXCEPT FOR THE TRACK BAR, AND CURRENTLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES ON IT.

I did not have a check engine light. I began to notice a slight ticking sound. I took it to a dealership and they say I need a brand new engine. I have had no issues with my vehicle and have maintained it well. I went from a slight ticking sound to a $11,000 estimate for an engine swap. My Jeep only has about 66,000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while stopped at a light, the front passenger side wheel rail started to flame. The contact then stated that she exit the vehicle and noticed that everything under the hood started to melt. No injuries were sustained. No medical attention was required. The air bags did not deploy. No police report was filed. The fire department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. Additionally, the contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the gears failed to shift into second gear. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE NUMBER 3 SPARK PLUG WIRE AND EGR VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. SOUTH COUNTY DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (7127 S LINDBERGH BLVD, SAINT LOUIS, MO 63125, (888) 486-1749) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE EGR NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.

The ABS control module is reporting a DTC code C2200 indicating an ABS module internal failure. The instrument panel warning lights for esp, bas, abs and the traction control are all continuously lit. This problem is continuous but has not been confirmed or inspected by a dealer. independent service center, police or insurance representatives. It is, however, a well known issue reported on Jeep owner forums as an ABS Dashboard Christmas Tree. I have not yet had an ABS related accident but it is extremely concerning that there is an internal ABS module failure that could cause an accident. I have attempted to replace the ABS Module, part 68067458AA, but I am told this part is not available due to a hold for engineering review. I was told the engineering review should be completed by March 20 but until then I am unable to obtain a new replacement part.

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT APPROX 45MPH IN THE RH LANE APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION WITH AN ILLUMINATED GREEN RIGHT-TURN ARROW(MY LANE), A VEHICLE IN THE SAME LANE, TRAVELING SAME DIRECTION, SUDDENLY STOPPED AT THE GREEN LIGHT AT THE INTERSECTION. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED HARD PRESSURE TO BRAKE PEDAL, ONLY TO HAVE IT SLAM STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR-BOARD WITH VERY LITTLE BRAKING ACTION. I WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY DOWN-SHIFT AND APPLY PARKING BRAKE IN TIME TO AVOID COLLISION WITH STOPPED VEHICLE. I CAREFULLY DROVE VEHICLE TO MY HOME, APPROX 3 MILES FROM INCIDENT INTERSECTION. UPON INSPECTION I NOTED BRAKE MASTER-CYLINDER EMPTY (IT WAS TOPPED-OFF TO "MAX" LINE WHEN CHECKED EVENING PRIOR), AND HYDRAULIC FLUID SPRAYED ALL-AROUND RIGHT (PASSENGER)-SIDE FRONT INNER WHEEL AND PUDDLED/DRIPPING AT BANJO-BOLT. YOU-TUBE RESEARCH FOUND A SIMILAR SITUATION WITH A JEEP 2 MODEL YEARS OLDER THAN MINE. The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while her son was driving 60 MPH, he experienced what was commonly known as the "death wobble"; where the vehicle would shake uncontrollably without warning until the vehicle slowed down and resumed normal operation. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer where they were initially unable to diagnose the failure. After a technician test drove the vehicle and successfully duplicated the failure, the dealer diagnosed that the steering damper and the driver’s side front wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and denied any knowledge of the "death wobble". The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer and had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

WHEN I REACH ABOUT 45 MPR THE WHOLE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY. TOOK IT SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE IT CORRECTED, BUT THE ISSUE ALWAYS CAME BACK. THEY TOLD ME IT JUST NEEDED A BOLT TIGHTENING. The muffler heat shield has become detached from all 4 fasteners and drops onto the top of the muffler. When starting the engine could hear a loud metal banging noise from the rear of the vehicle. Where the heat shield attaches to the body on 4 studs and is held in place by 4 zinc plated pal nuts, around the pal nuts the heat shield corrodes and separates from the zinc pal nuts allowing the heat shield to fall onto the muffler. On the Jeep Wrangler forums this is a widely discussed topic happening to many Jeep Wrangler owners from about the 2007 model year to about the 2015 model year. Some have just removed the heat shield by themselves and other have reportedly taken the Jeep Wrangler to Jeep or Chrysler dealerships where they have removed the heat shield. Is there a safety risk?? Not sure, but the manufacture installed the heat shield for a reason. This component, if there for a safety reason, should last almost the life of the vehicle. Only have 48K on the odometer.

2010 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON UNLIMITED: ROUGHLY 10 MONTHS INTO OWNING MY NEW JEEP I NOTICED THE BRAKES WERE SQUEALING. AFTER DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY FOR APPROX. 40 MILES I ATTEMPTED TO EXIT. I APPLIED MY BRAKES TO START SLOWING DOWN AND PROCEED TO GET INTO THE EXIT LANE. ONCE IN THE EXIT LANE I TRIED TO APPLY MORE BRAKE PRESSURE TO SLOW DOWN FASTER, AND THE BRAKE PEDAL SLOWLY TRAVELED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I MANAGED TO GET BACK ON TO THE FREEWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT AND ONTO A BREAKDOWN LANE TO SLOW DOWN. I APPLIED MY BRAKES AGAIN, AND AFTER APPLYING A MODERATE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE THE BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUED TO TRAVEL TO THE FLOOR. USING ONLY MODERATE BRAKE PRESSURE I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN MY VEHICLE AND STOP. ANY MORE THAN MODERATE PRESSURE WOULD CAUSE THE PEDAL TO GO TO THE FLOOR. I CHECKED MY BRAKE FLUID LEVEL, AND IT WAS STILL AT THE MAX LEVEL, SO I PROCEEDED TO PUMP MY BREAKS TO TRY AND LOCATE A LEAK. THERE WERE NO LEAKS AND THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL DID NOT GO DOWN. I SLOWLY CONTINUED HOME KNOWING THAT I HAD LIMITED BRAKING ABILITY. AT HOME I INSPECTED MY VEHICLE AGAIN, AND THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID LOSS. I OPENED THE BRAKE FLUID CONTAINER AND INSPECTED THE FLUID LEVEL, THE FLUID LEVEL WAS AT THE MAX MARK, BUT I NOTICED SMALL BLACK PARTICLES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CONTAINER. A BROKEN ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT IN THE AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING WIRING ASSEMBLY CAN LEAD TO NON-DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVER FRONTAL AIRBAG AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROPERLY PROTECT THE DRIVER IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURIES. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED 3 TIMES. TWO AT VERY LOW SPEEDS DURING THE DAY, AND ONCE AT NIGHT AT HIGH SPEED. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS DRIVING THE JEEP AND THE ENGINE STALLED. IT WAS HARD TO STEER, BUT I WAS MOVING SLOW. I THOUGHT IT WAS A WEIRD FLUKE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT WITH NO PROBLEM. THE SECOND TIME IT MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING, WE HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE JEEP STALLED. THE BREAKS DON'T WORK WELL, AND THE STEERING IS DIFFICULT. I WAS IN THE PASSING LANE GOING ABOUT 65 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED, THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT, ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WENT OUT, DASHBOARD WENT DARK, AND I KNEW FROM THE PREVIOUS TWO TIMES, THAT IF I APPLIED THE BREAKS OR TRIED TO STEER, IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT. I DECIDED THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO LOOK DOWN AND TRY TO FIND NEUTRAL AND ACCIDENTALLY PUT IT IN A LOW GEAR. ON SUNDAY AUGUST 18TH 2019 AT 4:30 PM A PHONE CALL WAS PLACED TO BROOKLYN CHRYSLER/JEEP AT 718 713 3000 TO CONFIRM AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN AIRBAG RECALL MADE THROUGH THE NATIONAL HOTLINE. UPON CONTACTING THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, I WAS TOLD THAT THE NATIONAL RECALL CENTER DID NOT APPROPRIATELY SCHEDULE THE AIRBAG REPAIR, AND MADE MY APPOINTMENT FOR AN "OIL CHANGE." I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT SCHEDULING ERRORS ARE FREQUENT FROM YOUR OFFICE AND THAT THEY DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE REPLACEMENT AIR BAG PARTS IN STOCK. I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER ONLY SENDS OUT "TWO OR THREE" AIRBAG RECALL PARTS AT A TIME AND THAT THEY ARE GIVEN OUT ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS. SHE STATED THERE IS NO CURRENT PROCEDURE FOR ASSIGNING SERVICE TO A PARTICULAR CUSTOMER AT A PARTICULAR TIME, AND THAT I SHOULD TRY BACK EVERY FEW WEEKS. THIS HAPHAZARD HANDLING, IF TRUE, BEGS THE QUESTION OF WHY YOUR OFFICE WOULD SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS IT DOES SENDING OUT MAILINGS FOR ANY FIX, YET SO LITTLE EFFORT TO STREAMLINE THE ADMINISTRATIVE END TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE. Additionally, the transmission had a fluid leak. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the drag link, control arm, and adjustment sleeve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROX 45MPH, THE JEEP BEGAN TO SHAKE/JUMP UNCONTROLLABLY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. WE TOOK IT INTO THE JEEP DEALER FROM WHOM WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. HE TIGHTENED THE TRACK BAR (??) AND REPLACED THE STEERING STABILIZER. WE EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT WE WERE BEGINNING A CROSS COUNTRY TRIP, SO HE SHOULD CHECK EVERYTHING. A WEEK OR SO LATER, WE BEGAN THE TRIP FROM FLORIDA TO CALIFORNIA. TWO DAYS INTO THE TRIP (EAST TEXAS), WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, WE EXPERIENCED THE SHAKE AGAIN. WE HAD TO TOP THE VEHICLE AND TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST JEEP DEALERSHIP, DRIVING ON SIDE STREETS AT MINIMAL SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS. TWO DAYS LATER, IN CALIFORNIA, WE AGAIN EXPERIENCED THE SHAKE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. AGAIN, WE TOOK THE CAR TO A JEEP DEALER WHO SAID WE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE STEERING STABILIZER. I have a blank instrument cluster, my lights are on and wipers run constantly. No warning before this happened. I cannot turn wipers off or control lights. No safety at night with no interior lights and not to mention. I cannot know how much fuel I have. I have found from research that many Jeep Wrangler owners have the same issue from reading forums. I can disconnect the negative battery cable and it temporarily resets then reverts to the same problem. I have also checked the multifunction switch as I was told could be causing the issue and this is not the case because the issue is still there when the switch was unplugged. I then checked the instrument cluster . Unplugged and plugged back in with only a momentary reset and then back where I started. This is not safe and very frustrating when I know there are Many people with the same issue.

CHRYSLER REFUSES TO RECALL THESES VEHICLES AND ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS AT START AND WHEN THE ENGINE IS FULLY WARMED UP, NO DISCERNIBLE CHANGE IN CABIN TEMP.

I WAS TRAVELING ON A COLD AND ICY ROAD AND INSIDE WAS COLD DUE TO THE HEATER CORE BEING FILLED WITH CASTING SAND. I CROSSED A RIVER AND THE DIFFERENCE IN HUMIDITY CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO FOG UP AND FREEZE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD, BUT MANAGED TO STICK MY HEAD OUT THE WINDOW TO KEEP FROM CRASHING. YESTERDAY WHILE TRAVELING WITH MY 2 YOUNG GRANDCHILDREN, I EXPERIENCED SOMETHING KNOWN AS "DEATH WOBBLE", A VIOLENT VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END. IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES YESTERDAY AND TWICE TODAY. ALL TIMES I WAS TRAVELING ON A FREEWAY AT AROUND 55 MPH. IT BEGAN TO WOBBLE AS I ENTERED A CURVE IN THE ROAD. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO SLOW AND PULL TO THE SHOULDER EACH TIME. WHEN PERFORMING A LEFT HAND TURN WHILE ACCELERATING AWAY FROM A STOP MY AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT AND ASSOCIATED CHIME CAME ON. WHILE DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE WITH THE WHEEL CENTERED THE LIGHT STAYED LOCKED IN, DURING A SWEEPING RIGHT HAND TURN THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT EXTINGUISHED. I will be driving down the road and a red lighting bolt will flash on my gauges then the jeep will either lose power or shut off. I was almost hit by a semi truck due to this. Once I cycle the key goes away till the next time it happens. Also the brake assist will randomly kick on typically applying braking power to the left rear passenger tire. This is not fixed by cycling the key. Jeep has recalled newer Wranglers for these exact issues but when I contacted Jeep they said it would cost me out of pocket

When starting the vehicle the check engine light comes on. Including the low tire pressure sensor comes on. The tires have been repaired yet the pressure system still says low. The car when shortly after it's been turned on only going several miles an hour and staying about 2RPMs starts to kick forward in a abrupt motion as if it wants to accelerate. Sometimes it's a hit or miss to start the car so I have to put it in neutral to start it. In conclusion everytime the vehicle starts to move from a complete stop or braking a loud clanking noise repeats a 2-3 times (clank,clank,clank) continues then stops after driving continually, then repeats after every stop that is made. I'm not sure what to make of it but my guess it has to do with the braking system even though no warning lights for brakes have come up.

Hello, Recently my 2010 Jeep Wrangler has developed the infamous death wobble. It is one of the most terrifying things I've ever experienced. Being on the freeway, doing 75, having my vehicle suddenly start shaking and wobbling like it's coming apart at the seams, and having to come to a complete stop in the middle of rush hour traffic, 3 lanes away from the shoulder has given me extreme anxiety! I have read in depth about this issue, I have read that there have been lawsuits and tech bulletins, but never a recall because "nobody has died from this". Believe me, it's only a matter of time, whether it be a heart attack or an accident, it will happen.

I was driving from the store, I was coming up to a cross road when my wipers just went wild for reasons unknown. When I went to turn them off it completely shut off putting at a sudden stop thankfully just before the crossroad and I'm blessed my kids weren't with me. Put it in park then tried to start it and it was shortly after when I was able to get it started again. Once it was able to start I put into drive and the whole dash was up in lights, and it was almost like it was bogging the rest of the way, under a certain Rpm it was gunna die and I couldn't get it to sustain at a rpm. Almost like it was bogging down on me. Just hoping and praying it would last till home. Once I got it home it died on me. Once it was parked and I tried to figured it out it only tries to turn over after that it dies on me. For how sudden it happened I just don't think I can trust taking it out anymore especially with my children. I am greatful that myself and no one else was injured if it had happened seconds later it would of been a different story. I haven't been able to move it or get it checked because of work and towing costs. So I'm at a loss for what it could be.

I purchased the vehicle from Loperena Auto Sales based on a video and phone conversation with Eddie Loperena who said nothing was wrong with the vehicle expect maybe a left front tire. On March 31 I wired ($14, 995.00) to Loperena Auto. I hired a transportation company to transport the vehicle to my home address in Bedford NH - the vehicle arrived with a ripped temporary plate, 1 key, copies of Bill of Sale but NO TITLE.He informed me the title was coming (On April 20th still no title) and to relax. I ordered four new tires (as they were all bad and would not pass inspection) and they arrived a few days ago so I took the Jeep to Tire Warehouse and they said the vehicle has some issues and they recommended I take the vehicle to a mechanic. I texted Eddie from Lopererna who informed me that this was a used vehicle and he does not check anything in his cars including brakes, engines nothing - this was a completely different tune than when I spoke with him before when he said nothing was wrong with the vehicle. He then called me a text gangster, so I called him and became belligerent and asked me if I knew who I as dealing with and come down to the dealership.I told him the car needed work which was different than what he told me on the phone before purchasing the vehicle and he again said he never checks his cars.. they are used cars. I took the vehicle to my local mechanic and he said the car was a lemon. The car needs new front bearings, two new U joints and if they are stuck to the front axle then a new front axle, rear axle seal and additional bearings. He then said there is so much OIL on the engine that it is a fire hazard (Must not be Driven) and he cannot determine where the oil is coming from without pressure washing the Engine but at a minimum the whole engine needs to be resealed. Answers: Engine, Tires and Axle failed inspection and yes. Definite safety risk! Inspected by mechanics and police. NO Lights at all and only made aware at mechanics shop

Power windows and Power door locks working when they want to work. Transmission has also been replaced with a new one. This has been going on for about 3-4 years.

HEADLIGHTS STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE JEEP KNOWS ABOUT A TIPM ISSUE BUT WILL NOT FIX IT. TIPM issue. This issue is common and described across the web but is a safety hazard! The headlights will flash 3-5 times then completely shut off. Restarting the Jeep and disconnecting the battery does not help. Jeep dealer says circuit in the TIPM is the issue and that this is common! Lordy have mercy for all the vecs on the road when my headlights started flashing at them and then went out on, of course, an unlit section of the road. But the crazier part is Jeep knew this could happen and doesn't warn the customers. I sure did not know that I might be driving blind at night becoming a safety hazard. The lights then decide to not work for a few days before going back to being reliable for anywhere from weeks to months until you happen to drive at night again and bam they go out again. Luckily the runner/ fog lights are unaffected but as a primary vehicle I can not just keep taking ubers every time it is dark outside! This is such a serious safety issue to loose your lights while driving! There are two common fixes for this. One you buy the TIPM or two you buy non stock headlights and reroute them to your own switch but for most of us, buying a part that Jeep knows will break is crazy and not practical (plus WE the consumer didn't know it would) and the alternative of having to buy a different company's lights to buy pass the wiring in just crazy. It is such a serious issue I do not understand why there is no recall! I'm also so unsure if I can even pass a safety inspection anymore. Also the automatic fuel stopper does not work which is ANOTHER know glitch with the TIPM. This is okay if you know about it because you can hold the handle the whole time while filling up but you can not trust it alone. It isn't like it is all the time either. Just enough to keep you on your toes and plosion the ground with spillage. The first time is scary though.

PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IT SHOULDN'T JUST GO OUT LIKE THAT. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. OWNER REPORTS: UNEXPLAINED VEHICLE FIRE UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS IN A CITY ROAD. (35-45 MPH) 2010 JEEP WRANGLER WHILE MOVING, OWNER/DRIVER NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE SIDES, FRONT AND INSIDE CABIN AREA, AND THE PERMEATING SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC AND VEHICLE FLUID(S). THE RECENT RECALL BY JEEP ON THE 2010 WRANGLERS DOES NOT FIT THE SITUATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN OCCURRING. SEVERAL OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SPONTANEOUS FIRES, AND WERE NOT IN ANY OFF-ROAD SITUATION THAT COULD HAVE CAUSE DEBRIS TO COLLECT ON OR NEAR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THEY WERE SIMPLY DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, OR ON THE HIGHWAY. ONE OWNER, WHO CONTACTED ME, HAD 16 MILES ON IT (2012 MODEL), AND HAD JUST PICKED IT UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP. IT CAUGHT ON FIRE ON HIS WAY HOME. ANOTHER OWNER HAD 600 MILES ON IT (ANOTHER 2012 MODEL) AND IT WAS SITTING IN FRONT OF HIS HOME. NUMEROUS HAVE NOT BEEN ON THE 2010 MODELS EITHER. THE DEBRIS THAT "COLLECTED" UNDER MY VEHICLE WAS NOT BURNED UP IN THE FIRE, AND NOT EVEN IN THAT SAME LOCATION. TIPM IS CREATING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE HEADLIGHTS FAIL TO WORK ON MY VEHICLE ON START UP OR ONCE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION. THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT THE JEEP AND STATED THE TIPM MODULE WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PART WAS INDEFINITELY ON BACKORDER FROM JEEP, AND COULD NOT EVEN BE REPLACED IF IT WERE UNDER WARRANTY. DRIVING THIS VEHICLE THAT IS UNDER 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IS UNACCEPTABLE. I PURCHASED MY JEEP NEW 18 MONTHS AGO AND IT NOW HAS APPROXIMATELY 22K MILES. THEY REPLACED THE GAS TANK WHICH I NOW UNDERSTAND IS A COMMON ISSUE ON THE 2010 RUBICONS. THE TECH SAID IT WAS FROM NOT ROTATING MY TIRES OFTEN ENOUGH AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON JEEPS SINCE THE FRONT HAS MORE "PLAY" AND THE REAR IS MORE "SOLID". HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY JEEP. I QUESTIONED WHETHER THE SIGNIFICANT UNEVEN WEAR WAS ACCEPTABLE AFTER ONLY 22K MILES. THE VIN PROVIDED ABOVE IS THE LAST 8 DIGITS. THIS WAS A RENTAL CAR FROM NATIONAL RENTAL CAR. THE JEEP WRANGLER WE RENTED HAD A CONTITRAC AT TIRE IN THE LEFT REAR POSITION; ALL OTHER TIRES, INCLUDING SPARE ON BACK WERE GOODYEAR WRANGLER TIRES. THE CONTITRAC AT TIRE SUFFERED AN EXPLOSIVE BLOWOUT, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THE ENTIRE TREAD BLEW OFF THE TIRE CARCASS, AND THE EXPLOSIVE FORCE CAUSED THE LEFT REAR FENDER TO BLOW OFF THE CAR. THERE WAS TIRE SHRAPNEL ALL OVER THE ROAD (HIGHWAY 17 SOUTHBOUND IN ARIZONA, NEAR JEROME STATE PARK), CAUSING CONSIDERABLE DANGER TO ALL VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. WE WERE ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE OUT-OF-CONTROL VEHICLE AND PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WE CHANGED THE TIRE AND CONTINUED WITH OUR TRIP. I HAD 3 KIDS IN THE CAR ON OUR WAY BACK FROM A RODEO AND ENDED UP WATCHING MY JEEP BURN AT 1:00 IN THE MORNING. CHRYSLER WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS AND HAS DENIED MY CLAIM. THE BACK SKID PLATE HAS A LIP THAT DIPS DOWN AND ALLOWS THE POSSIBILITY OF DEBRIS TO BE SUCKED UP AROUND THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE GAS LINE AND THE TRANSMISSION ARE RIGHT NEXT TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WHICH IS DANGEROUS. MY CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS LUCKILY WE WERE ALL GOT OUT OF THE CAR WITHOUT INJURY, I DO PLAN ON MAKING SURE THIS DANGER IS KNOWN SINCE CHRYSLER WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR DESIGN FLAW. *TR

IN APRIL 2011, MY JEEP WENT IN FOR SERVICE AT HERB CHAMBERS. THERE WERE SAFETY RECALLS THAT NEEDED TO BE FIXED AND I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN TO THE SERVICE ASSOCIATE ABOUT MY PARKING BRAKE BEING LOOSE AND NOT PROPERLY ADJUSTED. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE DIAGNOSIS I RECEIVED FROM THE SERVICE ASSOCIATE WAS THAT A MASSACHUSETTS REGISTERED SAFETY INSPECTOR EXAMINED MY PARKING BRAKE AND IT WAS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. IN MAY 2011, APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE, I PARKED MY VEHICLE IN ITS PARKING SPOT AT MY HOUSE AND WHEN I RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE FIVE MINUTES LATER IT HAD ROLLED INTO THE WOODS. WHEN THE JEEP ROLLED INTO THE WOODS IT HIT THREE TREES RESULTING IN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE FENDER RIPPING OFF. WHEN I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE AT JEEP THEY STATED I NEEDED TO FILE A CLAIM THROUGH MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD ASSIST ME WITH. A CLAIM WAS FILED THROUGH MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND CHRYSLER COMPANY. CURRENTLY THE JEEP IS BEING REPAIRED THROUGH MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I FEEL THAT ONCE THE BODY WORK IS COMPLETE ON MY JEEP THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF THE JEEP WILL STILL BE DEFECTIVE. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE WILL FAIL AGAIN AND COULD SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGE PROPERTY OR A BYSTANDER. CHRYSLER SENT OUT A PRIVATE CONTRACTOR, HANK SULLIVAN, WHO INSPECTED THE PARKING BRAKE. WHEN REQUESTED TO BE ON SITE OF HIS INVESTIGATION OF MY VEHICLE MY REQUESTED WAS DENIED. ONCE HIS INVESTIGATION WAS COMPLETE I REQUESTED PAPERWORK TO VERIFY HE EXAMINED MY VEHICLE AND FOR A COPY OF THE RESULTS FOR MY OWN FILE, THAT REQUEST WAS ALSO DENIED. APPROXIMATELY A MONTH LATER, I AM STILL AWAITING A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER WITH DETAILS FROM HANK'S INVESTIGATION. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM CHRYSLER STATING THAT THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST DUE TO MY AGE I LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES FOR THE SPECIAL CLAIMS DEPARTMENT AT CHRYSLER AND NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL BACK. ONLY ONCE I GOT ONE BACK. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED IN A MANNER IN WHICH THE ROOF AND DOORS COULD BE REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE DURING WARM WEATHER. WHEN THE ROOF AND DOORS WERE REMOVED, THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS WERE REPOSITIONED TO MOUNT ONTO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD SUPPORT FRAME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE MIRRORS WERE MOUNTED IN THIS POSITION, THE VIEW IN THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR WAS OBSTRUCTED BY APPROXIMATELY 85 PERCENT, REDUCING VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO REPAIR AVAILABLE FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,000.

E S P A DEADLY IDEA THAT IS BEING FORCED UPON US. MAY OF 2010 I PURCHASED A JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED. FIRST WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER I HAD E S P FAILURE. TOOK IT TO JEEP THE FOLLOWING WED. THEY ATTEMPTED TO RETURN IT TO ME UNABLE TO DUPLICATE, NO PARTS REPLACED. THE PROBLEM DID NOT "GO AWAY ". E S P FAILURES HAVE BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 2007. A SAFETY DEVICE TO SAVE YOU IN A CRASH SHOULD NOT CAUSE THE CRASH. ONLY ABOUT 12,300 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. FACTORY STOCK. NO MODS. JEEP BUYING BACK THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PROTECT ME OR MY LOVED ONES. THE OTHERS WILL STILL BE OUT THERE ON THE ROAD. FORCED LEGISLATION OF THIS WILL ACTUALLY CREATE OTHER PROBLEMS IN ADDITION TO THE FAILURES. VARIOUS "HACK JOBS" WILL BE PERFORMED IN ORDER TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM BUT WILL ACTUALLY CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS. I ALREADY HAVE TO DODGE WEAVING DRIVERS FOR OTHER REASONS. DRUNKS ARE AT LEAST ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE. HAS NO ONE ANY COMMON SENSE ANYMORE? IF I WANTED TO BE DRIVEN I WOULD HIRE A CHAUFFEUR. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A RATTLE FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. UPON EXAMINING THE STEERING COLUMN, THE CONTACT NOTICED A BOLT UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BOLT WHICH MOUNTED THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT TO THE SEAT POPPED OUT WHEN BUCKLING THE SEAT BELT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 680.
