Starting in approximately mid 2023 the vehicle began to leak oil. This was noted once the vehicle was parked after driving. There were various amounts of oil pooled underneath the oil filter housing on the ground. At this time it had approximately 70,000 miles. I had to consistently add many quarts of oil to keep the vehicle operating while going to several mechanics to diagnose the problem. There are many instances where a strong burning smell comes from the engine compartment especially when traveling at higher speeds (highway driving). It was determined that the oil filter housing had cracked and was the source of the oil leak. The cost for repair was approximately $800 for labor and the part, having to spend additional money to get a rental car. The mechanics stated that they have had to replace this same part on many other Jeep Wranglers that are the same make/year. The mechanic did say that another jeep that had the same problem did catch on fire due to the oil running down through the heated engine as this part is made of plastic and situated on the top side of the engine. My Jeep is current on all maintenance and there has been no accident to cause this part to crack. I was made aware that previous models had metal housing, as opposed to plastic hence there not being an issue. By the time we figured out the source of the leak, it was no longer under warranty, so I had the work completed by a local mechanic instead of the dealer. No warnings, not even a low oil pressure or check engine light came on. It was the burning smell and oil loss that made me aware of an issue. Once again, at approximately 100,000 miles it has happened again. The mechanic I originally brought it to is out of business, but the part would be out of warranty regardless. Now I am stuck spending another approximately 1,000 to have it replaced again, with the same part that will inevitably crack again. They really need to recall and replace this part with a metal housing.

The engine in my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (3.6L Pentastar V6) suddenly seized without warning at approx. 154,525 miles. The vehicle stalled while in motion, causing immediate loss of power and creating a dangerous situation where I could have been struck by other traffic. This was a major safety hazard. The Jeep was towed to a dealership, where technicians confirmed the engine is seized and provided a written estimate of about $12,000 for full engine replacement. I later had the vehicle towed back to my home, but the failed engine remains in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the authorized Jeep service center. Jeep/Stellantis Customer Care has also been contacted, and a case has been opened.Decline goodwill assistance. There were no warning lamps, messages, or prior symptoms before the failure. The vehicle was operating normally until the sudden stall. This lack of warning combined with the engine seizure placed my safety and the safety of others at risk. I believe this issue is part of a known defect pattern with the 3.6L Pentastar engine, which has been subject to numerous complaints, service bulletins, and litigation. A well-maintained Jeep engine should not fail catastrophically at this mileage without warning.

In the 9 years I have owned my Jeep I have now replaced the oil filter housing twice. Each time has caused me over $300 just for the part, which is PLASTIC from the dealership to my mechanic then over $1000 to install. My mechanic explained to me that when plastic is heated then cold with oil it will eventually crack. This then drips on the exhaust which causes either smoke through the vents or a small fire eventually. This needs a recall.

The oil filter housing developed a leak which lead to excessive amounts of oil spilling on the exterior of the engine which could cause a fire.

Engine oil cooler/filter housing. Developed oil leak by being placed under manifold. Took it to dealer, Flow, confirmed bad oil leak in item mentioned. They replaced the mentioned part. Bad oil leaks can cause engine fire. Not sure it is available for view at dealer. Cost was over $1300. Mileage was about 93000.

The Clock Spring has been identified as being bad, (nothing in the steering wheel works). I have owned it for 5 years and it hasn't worked for at least 3-4 of those years. I don't know if it has been replaced... However, for something that is a safety concern, such as the airbags, I would think that it would work longer than 1-2 years... if it has been previously replaced. I can't find any records of it. The air bag lights have been on for a few years; I thought it was normal. I wasn't aware of any recalls on the clock spring/air bags until recently.

Driver side airbag warning light came on, took vehicle to dealer for inspection and report is the airbag system has a fault in it and whole system will need to be replaced. Vehicle is available for inspection, and issue has been confirmed by dealer. Told airbag unlikely to go off, but may not deploy in the event of an accident.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated the air bags, and the traction control warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with needing the clockspring to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V288000 (Air Bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,500.

Oil filter Housing and Intake Manifold had to be replaced dues a coolant leak. "Common" issue on Jeep's they said. But Despite knowing about this issue, the company has never issued a recall, instead, they redesigned the oil filter housing.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 55-60 MPH, the vehicle shut off inadvertently. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the failure was associated with the transmission. An unknown repair was completed. However, the failure reoccurred several months later. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where an unknown repair was completed; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated while driving up a steep hill, the vehicle shut off, almost causing another heavy vehicle to crash into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where an unknown repair was completed. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Parts R2123503AC & 68087998AA which are available for inspection failed while driving my vehicle a day after in was serviced by the dealer. I heard a loud bang emit from under vehicle. At which point all forward motion stopped & the vehicle would not move at all when the accelerator was pressed. The engine was running and all electrical components continued to function. It stopped in the road and was not able to make it to the shoulder without being pushed. Fortunately traffic was light and the vehicles behind me were able to stop before a collision. Had this happened on the highway or at an intersection the outcome could have been much worse. There were no warning lights prior to or after the failure. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer who requested 3 hours of shop time to disassemble the powertrain. At which point i was contacted and told i needed a new transfer case. When i went to look at the transfer case i saw that the transfer case adapter and external housing was rusted and the gears were worn away. (photos) . Upon taking the part to mechanics and another dealer I was informed such wear was not a result normal usage, wear and tear. I opened a case with FCA (82582111) to enquire as to how the failure occurred. The FCA nor the dealer provided any explanation as to how the failure occurred. For background , the vehicle was custom ordered from the factory, and purchased new in 2014. It a had 64990 miles at the time of the failure. I'm the original owner & only driver of the vehicle. The vehicle has never been off-roaded or driven through high water. The vehicle has not been modified other than a Mopar 2" lift kit installed by the dealer. All scheduled factory service , maintenance and inspections were performed by the dealer. The extent of the rusting and the wearing of the components would indicate that the issue had been occurring for some time. Yet it was not detectable without the vehicle being lifted and the transfer case removed.

The vehicle will unexpectedly not be able to shift gears up or down suddenly due to a switch sensor located in the transmission transfer case that malfunctions due to corrosion due to lack of protection on the wiring which is exposed to the elements. I noticed this happening a few times before I had a chance to take it into the dealer repair shop. When I was on my way home from work commuting through evening rush hour, I was driving at normal residential street speeds and as traffic sped up my car did not shift gears but rather kept revving higher. I was driving along with traffic and noticed as we were slowing down it didn't downshift either. I was able to pull over and inspected the vehicle but didn't notice any wrong. I had to drive home with my hazards and at a set speed as much as possible. It was not a safe situation nor would it be good for the engine had it got pushed harder.

The other day I was changing the fluids in my transfer case and I noticed that the cv bolts were broken and coming out my Jeep is not lifted nor is there larger tires on it. If these all snapped the possibility the drive shift my fall out. If you contact me immediately I won't proceed with fixing the drive shaft if not I'm replacing it tomorrow.

Fuse box on right hand side of engine compartment caught fire and was smoldering. Jeep at time was turned off and in a parked position when this occurred. Tail lights were flashing and windshield wiper were going without being turned on. Remote would not unlock Jeep and entire cabin was filled with smoke. If I had been driving vehicle, I would have been unable to stop. Auto Gear Shifter locked up and I would have been unable to see how to drive due to amount of smoke entering cabin and all power components failing.

THE IGNITION APPEARED TO GO OUT ON OUR 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THERE WAS NO SOUND. IT DID NOT TRY TO CRANK. ALL OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS LIKE HEADLIGHTS, RADIO, ETC STILL WORKED. I TOOK IT TO AUTO NATION JEEP IN ROSEVILLE AND THEY SAID THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT $1400. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN THE GARAGE.

2014 JEEP WRANGLER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO NUMEROUS SAFETY ISSUES WITH VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD MOVE FROM SIDE TO SIDE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THE WIRES WERE TOO SHORT. ALL 24 ROCKERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TWICE. BOTH FRONT U JOINTS WERE REPLACED. THE ENGINE AND FUEL INJECTOR HARNESSES WERE REPLACED. THE ORIGNAL WIRES CRACKED AND SHORTED OUT. BOTH THE DRAG LINKS ENDS WERE REPLACED. THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT FAILED. THE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY BROKE FROM THE TRAC BAR.

MAJOR OIL LEAK. TOOK TO MECHANIC. OIL COOLER NEEDS REPLACING. CHECKED ON JEEP FORUM, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. MECHANIC WENT TO ORDER PART 3-4 MONTHS FOR A REPLACEMENT. JEEP HAS A BACK ORDER PROBLEM. WAS TOLD NOT TO DRIVE AS IT COULD OVERHEAT AND CAUSE A FIRE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE THAT JEEP IS IGNORING.

RADIATOR ON THESE MODELS START LEAKING PREMATURELY. THERE ARE MANY DOCUMENTED CASES ON ONLINE FORUMS WITH RADIATORS GOING OUT OR LEAKING WITH ONLY A FEW THOUSAND MILES AND BEING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, SOME DEALERS WOULD ARGUE THAT THE COOLANT SMELL IS NORMAL, IN ORDER TO PUSH THE REPAIR FURTHER OUT. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 46K MILES AND HAS A LEAK ON THE DRIVER SIDE PORTION OF THE RADIATOR WHERE THE ALUMINUM PART OF THE RADIATOR MEETS WITH THE PLASTIC PART OF THE RADIATOR. THE LEAK IS VERY SLOW AND MOST PEOPLE MIGHT NOT REALIZE IT (THIS IS WHAT MAKES IT EVEN MORE DANGEROUS!!) OTHER THAN FOR THE COOLANT SMELL NEAR THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR LIKE THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AS ITS HIGHLY PROBABLE TO BLOW AT ANYTIME GIVEN HOW MUCH PRESSURE IS IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. THIS WOULD BE DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY IF IT WERE TO GO OUT ON THE FREEWAY, OR OUT IN A REMOTE AREA, OR EVEN FOR SOMEONE WORKING IN THE ENGINE BAY OR UNDER THE CAR. JEEP KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM, BUT IF YOU'RE OUT OF WARRANTY THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, EVEN IF IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME IT'S HAPPENED.

2014 JEEP WRANGLER WITH 43,000 MILES SEVERE OIL LEAK FROM OIL FILTER HOUSING. OIL WENT FROM SMALL DRIP TO SEVERE LEAK WITH OIL COATING CROSS MEMBER AND EXHAUST PIPE WITHIN WEEKS. OIL DRIPPING AND COATING THE HOT EXHAUST IS A FIRE HAZZARD AND YOU CAN SMELL THE BURNING OIL AT EVERY STOP LIGHT. $1000 REPAIR AT THE DEALER.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOVE PREOWNED AUTOCENTER (4401 S PADRE ISLAND DR, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX 78411), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE RECEIVED A NEW COMPUTER AND THE RELAY PANEL WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND REMAINED AT THE DEALER UNREPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,452.

OIL COOLER/OIL FILTER HOUSING AND GASKETS HAVE A KNOWN DEFECT THAT CAUSES OIL TO LEAK ONTO AND INTO ENGINE COMPONENTS, SUCH AS THE RADIATOR, CAUSING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. JEEP/CHRYSLER/DODGE/RAM TECHS KNOW THAT THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT, AND THE LEAKING OIL CAN AND DOES BURN, WHICH CAN LEAD TO A TOTAL ENGINE FIRE!!! I FIRST NOTICED THE ISSUE WHEN I SMELLED BURNING OIL. THINKING IT WAS JUST A MINOR ISSUE THAT COULD BE FIXED WHENEVER I HAD THE FREE TIME, I CONTINUED DRIVING FOR ANOTHER WEEK OR TWO UNTIL SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE ENGINE! I FINALLY TOOK IT IN BECAUSE THERE WAS WAY TOO MUCH SMOKE TO BE SAFE (FIRE?). THE TECH THAT WORKED ON MY JEEP, MIKE POLLARD, SAYS HE SEES THIS ISSUE ALL THE TIME, ADVISED ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AND THEN FILE FOR REIMBURSEMENT WITH THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE SINCE IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND MY JEEP ONLY HAD 43,500 MILES ON IT (WELL UNDER THE 100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY). WELL, I DID AS HE ASKED, BUT CORPORATE CUSTOMER CARE IS USELESS, WILL NOT REACH OUT TO THE TECH AS ASKED, AND ARE DOING THEIR BEST TO NOT PAY BECAUSE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE IS NOT A RECALL. EITHER WAY, THIS ISSUE CAN START A FIRE IF LEFT UNFIXED. JEEP KNOWS THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE, YET WILL NOT DO A RECALL UNLESS FORCED (MONEY OVER SAFETY). TICKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. THE NOISE BECOMES LOUDER WHEN THE ENGINE GETS WARM, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS CLOSE TO A WALL OR OTHER VEHICLES. DIAGNOSTIC FROM DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS DUE TO ROCKER ARM FAILURES.

ABS module failed and the Jeep began violently shaking on the freeway. There is a significant risk of the brakes locking up which put myself and the general public at risk. A dealer confirmed however there are no parts to buy from Stellantis/Mopar. They are on an "indefinite backorder". Even getting them rebuilt is impossible because they are unable to get the parts. ABS, brake, and traction control all came on when the module failed and the death rattle started. This has left me with a dangerous and almost completely useless vehicle for over a year with no resolution in sight. This is a public emergency with so many vehicles that this is happening to and we need a resolution.

The ABS module on my vehicle is faulty. Jeep is no longer manufacturing the part needed for repair. My vehicle is drivable but no longer has ABS. This is affecting a very large number of Jeep wranglers and stallantis / Jeep refuses to make a replacement part available or issue a recall.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while stopped at a red light, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact's vehicle was rear-ended. The contact's wife, who was the other occupant of the vehicle, was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The contact's wife sustained a dislocated left hip. In addition, the contact's wife had previously had a left hip replacement and undergone four left hip surgeries. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. A police report was filed; however the information was unavailable. The contact stated that three months after the vehicle was purchased, the ABS, traction control, and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed ABS module. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were on back order. The contact stated that the order was placed almost thirteen months ago. The contact stated that the vehicle was almost rear-ended two times recently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

Intermittent indicator lights for ABS, eBrake, and Traction control. Code is indicating an issue with the ABS Control Module. Dealer is saying that parts have been on back-order for years. This appears to be a very common issue with this Jeep style. I'm very surprised there has not been a recall on this yet!!

The ABS system failed at about 50,000 miles while the vehicle was still under extended warranty. The system needs a new ABS module which Jeep says is under engineering review. I have been trying to get the part for almost 2 years with no success. I am left with an unsafe vehicle that I am unable to sell.

My 2014 jeep wrangler unlimited started throwing the motor in limp mode. Had it checked out and it's the TIPM and the wiring harness. As I dug into that some 2014 jeeps already have a recall on this. But I cannot find on my VIN. Could this be a needed recall that this jeep needs to be added too? Help please.almost caused an accident 3 different times throwing a brand new motor into limp mode

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing electrical failures. The check engine warning light was illuminated intermittently, and the infotainment system failed to turn on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the oil sensor pressure circuit was replaced due to an internal short in the oil-sending unit. Additionally, the PCM software was updated, and the infotainment system was replaced. The contact also stated that the fuel gauge provided inaccurate readings and would not read that the fuel tank was full. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice for fuel gauge failure. The dealer performed a PCM software update for fuel sender recalibration and replaced the fuel pump module. The contact stated that the traction control warning light illuminated intermittently, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced an unknown sensor. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing an electrical draw, and the battery was replaced four times. The vehicle was taken to the second dealer McCord's - Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (990 Tennant Way, Longview, WA 98632) where it was diagnosed that the electrical draw was due to a failure of the instrument cluster electrical wiring or a failure of the electrical wiring underneath the dashboard. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

I was driving the vehicle at 30 miles per hour and the engine accelerated to 60 miles per hour on it's own. before I could get it to stop. This occurred on 4 different occasions of the vehicle accelerating on it's own. The vehicle was only able to get under control by stepping on the brake hard placed the vehicle in neutral and shut off the Key. Some one could of been killed. No Dick Chrysler dodge stated they would have to drive it to see if there was an issue and charge an outrageous amount of money to determine if there was an issue. I know there is an issue. In 2020 and 2025, Oil Coolant Housing cracked and failed. First incident happened on the way to an oil change. Certified Mechanic found oil covering entire undercarriage and engine, and notified me this was a severe fire and safety hazard. Replaced with an OEM Housing from dealership. 2025, same failure. Found by another Certified Mechanic while researching check engine light. Replaced with a metal Housing. Getting a P0303 and P0305 error code. Recorded over 300 misfires in 2 days. Replaced all spark plugs, coil packs and fuel injector in #5. No improvement in performance, continued coding. While returning to Mechanic, had a strong burning smell and smoke coming out from under the hood. Coolant was covering entire engine compartment and undercarriage. Mechanic notified me the Coolant was flowing through the engine and exiting out the #5 cylinder. Diagnosed failure of head gasket and engine. Driving vehicle causes smoke under hood, some in passenger compartment and strong burning smell. Recommended replacing engine as complete failure is imminent and is a safety and fire hazard.

There needs to be a recall on the 2014 Jeep wrangler oil filter housing immediately. My Jeep has the Pentastar oil filter housing used in these vehicles can crack and warp due to heat exposure and this can lead to serious oil leaks. Despite knowing about this issue, the company has never issued a recall, instead, they have discontinued the production of the Pentastar and redesigned the oil filter housing for newer vehicle models. My jeep was pouring out oil and the red oil light turned on. I immediately had my jeep towed to the dealer . They had already "fixed" this issue two times previously. It is beyond comprehension that this has not been a manufacturer recall. It is extremely dangerous.

THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON A REAR MAIN SEAL LEAK. MY VEHICLE IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO 150K MILES ITS BARELY AT 90K AND ALREADY HAVING A LEAK ISSUE. I WAS READING ONLINE THAT CERTAIN JEEPS RIGHT AT 16K WERE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS COSTLY AND IT IS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE THAT MY VEHICLE GOES FROM BEING GOOD TO DRIVE TO HEY NOW YOU HAVE A REAR MAIN SEAL LEAK AND IT WILL COST YOU AROUND 850 PLUS DOLLARS. IT LEAKED OIL IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE TO CLEAR THAT UP.

I AM AWARE THAT 2014 JEEP WRANGLERS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE OIL FILTER HOUSING CRACKING OVER TIME. I OPENED MY HOOD AND LOOKED AT THE OIL FILTER HOUSING AND THERE WAS OIL ALL OVER THE TOP OF THE MOTOR. I WENT TO MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS YEAR WRANGLER HAS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THIS AND THAT THERE IS NO RECALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A SAFETY ISSUE LIKE THIS THAT MOPAR HAS NOT BEEN CALLED ON THE CARPET FOR A FIRE HAZARD LIKE THIS AND THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PREMATURE FAILURE OF THIS PART. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop light, he depressed the accelerator pedal to drive when all 5-wheel studs inadvertently snapped off the rear passenger’s side wheel. The rim fractured and the tire was sliced and detached from the rim. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

These are aftermarket , designed and marketed as for off-road use and used as up-fit parts on newly manufactured Jeep and Ram vehicles. I own five wheels and this far two wheels have developed hairline cracks and are leaking air. According to online forums/AEV forum, people claim this is a common issue. Since two wheels have developed hairline cracks in the exact same location, I believe it could be a nationwide unsafe situation for unsuspecting AEV wheel owners.

HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, OR BEEN OFF-ROAD OR RAN OVER OR HIT ANYTHING OTHER THAN DIPS AND BUMPS THAT MY TOYOTA YARIUS AND HONDA FIT HAVE RAN OVER WITH NO PROBLEMS. THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAS WORN OUT TWICE AND CHRYSLER SAYS IT IS BECAUSE I DID NOT ROTATE TIRES EVERY 5,000 MILES. The fuel neck into the fuel tank failed causing fuel to leak out of the vehicle. Upon inspection by 2 independent shops, it was determined that there was no physical damage or reason for the failure. The repair to the issue is for the entire fuel tank to be replaced at a cost of approximately $2,000. The vehicle has only 65,000 miles on it and used on highway driving conditions. The concern is that a manufacturing or design defect is the cause and because of the hazard created by the leak, is a serious issue and should be addressed by Jeep. Jeep has acknowledged that this issue should not occur and has offered some minimal assistance on repair costs, however my concern is with having to replace an entire fuel tank at 65,000 miles on a Jeep product and the safety concerns with the potential for this to occur without a root cause (other than product failure or defect). This should not be considered a 'wear and tear' part and have a much longer life than 65,000 miles. In addition, due to the design of the part, requires the entire fuel tank to be replaced at an excessive cost. The consumer expectation from Jeep is for a much more rugged, dependable and safe product which is what Jeep promises in their marketing and promise to consumers.

FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS, WHENEVER I ATTEMPT TO FILL MY CAR WITH GASOLINE, SHORTLY AFTER I BEGIN FUELING THE GAS COMES SPRAYING BACK AT ME. IN ORDER TO FILL MY TANK, I MUST BARELY SQUEEZE THE NOZZLE SUCH THAT THE GAS TRICKLES OUT. STILL IF I DON'T PERFECTLY STOP AND START AT THE RIGHT MOMENT IT WILL OVERFLOW. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHETHER I WAS DOING SOMETHING WRONG OR IF THERE WAS A RECALL, AND THEY INFORMED ME IT IS A KNOWN AND COMMON ISSUE BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. I WENT ONLINE AFTER TO CHECK THE WRANGLER FORUMS AND IT IS, IN FACT, A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT FOR WHICH THERE IS NO RECALL.

MANY SERVICE LIGHTS RELATED TO EVAPORATION LEAK, DEALER KEPT RESETTING, AND REPLACED GAS CAP AND PAID FOR COUNTLESS CHECKS EACH TIME THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR. FINALLY DISCOVERED FUEL WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE TANK, AND AS A RESULT I HAD TO REPLACE MY FUEL TANK, FUEL FILLER HOSE, FUEL TRANSFER TUBE, FUEL VAPOR TUBE, FUEL CANISTER PURGE, AND FUEL SUPPLY TUBE AT A HIGH COST. WHEN SPEAKING TO THE DEALER GIVEN THE CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD, THEY INDICATED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEP WRANGLERS AND THAT IN THAT WEEK ALONE THEY HAD DONE 4 OR 5 FUEL TANK REPLACEMENTS. DURING ALL OF THIS MY VEHICLE WAS UNDRIVEABLE FOR 2 MONTHS.

DEALER DIAGNOSED CRACKED FUEL PUMP BUT UNABLE TO GET THE PART DUE TO BACKORDER, NO SAFETY RECALL, NO WARRANTY. OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS TO TO DRIVE SO HAD IT FIXED BY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. PULLED OUT FUEL PUMP AND THE PLASTIC WAS CRACKED ALL AROUND THE OUTSIDE EDGE UNDER THE LOCKING RING WHICH WAS THE SOURCE OF THE LEAKING FUEL. DEALER AND JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED NO REMEDY. BEWARE OF THIS PROBLEM IF YOUR JEEP JK HAS A STRONG FUEL SMELL.

THE ADDITIONAL TROUBLE WITH JEEP IS IT IS NOT AN EASY FIX THE WHOLE MANIFOLD HAS TO BE REMOVED TO BE ABLE TO SWITCH OUT THE PART. I had Gresham 4 Wheel drive do several repairs on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler and the same day I drove it back home I experience death wobble which put me at risk by having me to stop at a highway to be able to control my vehicle which was extremely dangerous for me and other drivers. I have talked to the manager but he isn’t willing to have my vehicle towed to the shop and now I haven’t been able to drive my vehicle for a month now and have now lost hope of getting my vehicle fixed and safe to drive.

IN SEPTEMBER OF 2017 I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE FROM AUTONATION JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS. WITH THIS PURCHASE THERE WAS WRITTEN NOTICE OF IT BEING CERTIFIED WITH A COMPLETE INSPECTION DONE. THIS INSPECTION NOTES AND CERTIFIES THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE, USABLE, AND WITH NO DEFECTS. THIS DOCUMENT SPECIFICALLY NOTED SEVERAL ITEMS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE SUSPENSION OF THE JEEP. ALL NOTED AS CERTIFIED. AFTER POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE AN EVENT OCCURRED WHERE THE JEEP LOST CONTROL, PUTTING MY LIFE AND FAMILY'S LIFE AT RISK AS WE WERE THROWN INTO ANOTHER LANE OF TRAFFIC. WE HAD NO UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THIS ISSUE AS WE UNDERSTOOD THAT THIS JEEP WAS CERTIFIED, BOTH WRITTEN AND ORALLY. I THEN TOOK THE JEEP TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT CAUSED THE JEEP TO LOSE CONTROL. THE DEALERSHIP THEN FOUND THAT THE SHOCKS WERE NOT FASTENED PROPERLY BECAUSE OF MODIFICATIONS DONE BY EITHER AUTONATION JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS OR A 3RD PARTY. NONE OF THIS WAS DISCLOSED IN THE WRITTEN OR ORAL CERTIFICATION OF THE VEHICLE. DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS DENIED LIABILITY AND REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE FALSE WRITTEN AND ORAL CERTIFICATION OF THE VEHICLE. MY OPINION IS THAT THE JEEP IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND MAY NEVER BE SAFE TO DRIVE IN THE FUTURE. AUTONATION JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THESE MODIFICATIONS AND SAFETY ISSUES DURING THEIR INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. THIS INSPECTION WHICH WAS PASSED, SHOWN WRITTEN AND TOLD VERBALLY PUTS MY FAMILY AT RISK TO PROFIT ON A VEHICLE PURCHASE. IN DOING SO WE WERE FALSELY REPRESENTED IN THIS SITUATION FROM THE AUTONATION JEEP DODGE CHRYSTLER IN KATY TEXAS TEAM.

The windshield wipers just stopped working. They worked two days before. Turned the car on, windshield wipers came up even though they were not turned on, stuck in the up position and stopped. Replaced motor & switch, checked the fuse and wiring, still not working. TIPM in it is bad and needs to be repaired or replaced. This is a known problem in the wranglers from 2008-2017 and causes other safety hazards. They have replaced them in other Chrysler vehicles, but not the wranglers. If this would have happened during a rainstorm or in other situations, this could cause someone to wreck.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the contact became aware of an abnormal coolant odor and a burning odor. Additionally, there was smoke coming from underneath the hood. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact drove back to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that cylinder #2 and #5 were leaking air into the cooling system. The mechanic determined that the head gasket, the intake manifold, and the front timing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 63,000 MILES AND IS DRIVEN ON NORMAL CITY/HIGHWAY STREETS. ALL NORMAL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE ON TIME AT DEALERSHIPS. ON 6/23/16, I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. I ACCELERATED TO MERGE INTO THE LEFT LANE AND THEN, AFTER LETTING UP ON THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AT THE SAME RATE OF SPEED. I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED AS EXPECTED BUT I HEARD A DISTINCT "POPPING" NOISE, SEEMINGLY AS IF THE GAS PEDAL HAD POPPED BACK INTO PLACE. JUST A FEW MILES LATER, WHILE DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE, I ACCELERATED A BIT TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC. THERE IS NO WAY IT WAS CAUSED BY THIS, AS JEEP HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN OFF-ROAD, NO ONE DRIVES IT WITH MUDDY SHOES, ETC. ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED AND PCM WAS UPDATED TO THE MOST CURRENT SOFTWARE LEVEL. PREVIOUSLY ON THIS VEHICLE, THE SENTRY KEY WAS REPLACED AS WAS THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, AS WAS THE FRONT STABILIZER/SWAY BAR. NOT SURE IF THE STUCK ACCELERATOR IS DUE TO A COMPUTER/SOFTWARE GLITCH OR A MECHANICAL FAILURE. THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE FRONT SWAY BAR CAME OUT OF THE ELECTRONIC SWAY BAR DISCONNECT HOUSING WHICH DISCONNECTED THE SWAY BAR UNKNOWINGLY AND UNINTENTIONALLY, CAUSING AN EXTREMELY UNSTABLE DRIVING CONDITION. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF THE OCCURRENCE AS FAR AS WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH. THE ONLY WAY IT WAS DISCOVERED WAS BECAUSE I ASSUMED THE SPRINGS OR SHOCKS WERE WORN OUT TO CAUSE THE CONDITION. WHILE REPLACING THE FRONT SHOCKS, I NOTICED THE SWAY BAR WAS PULLED OUT OF THE HOUSING. WE HAD NUMEROUS CLOSE CALLS ON THE FREEWAY WITH NEAR ROLL OVERS DUE TO THIS CONDITION. THE MANUAL STATES YOU SHOULD NEVER EXCEED SPEEDS OF 18 MPH WHEN SWAY BAR IS DISCONNECTED. HOWEVER, WE HAD BEEN ON NUMEROUS TRIPS TRAVELLING ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEEDS OF 80 MPH. I CONTACTED JEEP REPEATEDLY AND WAS JUST TOLD IT WAS A "NON-SERVICABLE" PART, AND TO REPLACE IT, AT AN APPROXIMATE COST OF OVER $2000.00

I WAS DRIVING ON I-65 ON A SLIGHTLY RAINY DAY. I STOPPED TO FILL WITH GAS AND WHEN I ENTERED THE INTERSTATE I NOTICED THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO FISHTAIL BUT I THOUGHT MAYBE I HIT A SLICK SPOT. IN A SHORT TIME I GOT BEHIND A SLOW TRUCK AND WHEN THE TRAFFIC CLEARED I STARTED TO GO AROUND THE TRUCK ACCELERATING NORMALLY AND THE VEHICLE FISH TAILED SO DRASTICALLY THE TRUCK DRIVER ACTUALLY MOVED PARTIALLY ONTO THE SHOULDER. I SLOWED AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD THINKING I MAY HAVE A TIRE GOING FLAT. UPON CHECKING THE TIRES I FOUND NO PROBLEM. I STARTED BACK ON MY TRIP BUT COULD TELL MY JEEP WAS NOT FEELING AS IT SHOULD WHEN ACCELERATING. WHEN NO VEHICLES WERE IN SIGHT I INTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED AND THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN FISH TAILED. SOON I CAME UPON SLOW TRAFFIC AND WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE LEFT REAR WHEEL LOCKED UP AND SLIDE. WHEN I FINALLY GOT TO AN EXIT I STOPPED AND AND STILL COULD FIND NO PROBLEM BUT DID NOT SHUT OFF THE ENGINE (MISTAKE). I CONTINUED ON TO MY DESTINATION VERY CAUTIOUSLY. IT WAS LATE AND AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT OVERNIGHT IT SEEMED TO BE FINE AND HAS NOT HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM SINCE. THE PROBLEM COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I WAS COMPLETELY SURPRISED AND LOOKED AT MY DASH AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN RESPONSE, THE LIGHT WENT OUT IMMEDIATELY AND I REAPPLIED THROTTLE PEDAL AND THROTTLE RESPONSE WAS NORMAL. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT HAS COME ON MY VEHICLE IMPROPERLY ON MY VEHICLE IN 3,807 MILES OF DRIVING. I HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER 4 TIMES NOW FOR REPAIR AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE AND UNABLE TO REPAIR CONDITION. The ABS light on my instrument panel has been going off for Since April 2025. I have attempted to order a replacement ABS Control Module, but Stallantis keeps canceling the order with no reason provided. This appears to be a long ongoing problem, and others have reported waiting years for a replacement. I have also heard reports that Stallantis is no longer making the part. I understand that NHTSA has forced a recall on other Jeep/Ram ABS Control Modules, so I'm not sure why one has not been placed on the Jeep JK series.

Starting in March of 2024 the vehicle began to leak copious amounts of oil. This was noted once the vehicle was parked after driving. It was anywhere from the size of a half dollar to a dinner plate size of oil pooled underneath the oil filter housing on the ground. At this time the Jeep had approximately 103,000 miles. While diagnosing the issue, I had to consistently add many quarts of oil to keep the vehicle operating. During the diagnosis stage, there were many instances where a strong burning smell became obvious from the engine compartment. After consulting with two independent certified mechanics, it was determined that the oil filter housing had become compromised and was the source of the oil leak. The cost for repair was $175 for the part and $950 for labor, plus $200 for a rental. Both mechanics that diagnosed the issue advised they both had replaced this same part on many other Jeep Wrangler JK between the years of 2014-16. While the burning smell was indicative of a possible fire at some point, one mechanic did say one other jeep that had this part fail did catch on fire due to the oil running down through the heated engine as this part is made of plastic and situated on the top side of the engine. Fires were most certainly a life safety concern as this is my primary vehicle for myself and children. The vehicle had all of its maintenance current and properly done, there was no accident or incident to cause this part to crack other than a poor design with cheap parts. The oil clean up during the fix was extensive as it had pooled and ran into multiple locations on the engine. I did not have the vehicle inspected by the manufacturer as it was no longer under warranty and it would have cost even more to have them do the work. No warnings, not even a low oil pressure or check engine light came on. It was the burning smell and oil loss that was visibly noted that identified an issue.

JEEP HAS A KNOWN EPIC FAILURE IS DESIGN FLAW IN ITS 2014 WRANGLER WHEN IT SWITCHED FROM A METAL OIL FILTER COOLER HOUSING TO A PLASTIC OIL FILTER COOLER HOUSING. HUNDREDS OF CASES OF THE PART BREAKING/LEAKING OIL ALL OVER LOWER ENGINE AND EXHAUST WHICH IS A FIRE HAZARD. MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE GOT THE MACHINE ATTACHED THE CODE READ PO520 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT. WHEN WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY ANY LONGER AND WOULDN'T REPAIR. WHILE I RESEARCHED WE FOUND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT WAS ISSUED PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION. THE OIL SENSOR SHOULD HAVE AND COULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY EXPIRING IF THE DEALERSHIPS WERE MANDATED TO NOTIFY AND FIX ALL REPAIRS RELATED TO DEFECTIVE PARTS. DURING MY RESEARCH WE FOUND THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS A RECALL IN EXTENDED WARRANTY STATUS. REGARDLESS IF WE GOT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A DEALERSHIP TO SELL A USED VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG OR A RECALL. IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL FOR ME NOT TO GET IT FIXED OR MY REGISTRATION CAN BE REVOKED. I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS COST TO REPAIR EITHER OF THESE ITEMS. RANDOMLY THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND SHUT OFF THE SAME DAY. THE NEXT DAY IT CAME BACK ON AND WON'T GO OFF. THIS IS NEW. THE RADIO SKIPS EVERY COUPLE OF SECONDS AND INTERRUPTS ALL SOUND MAKING A POPPING NOISE FROM EVERY SPEAKER. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I AM USING THE AUXILIARY SATELLITE AM FM OR EVEN DO YOU CONNECT DEVICE. USUALLY IF IT IS THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE IS STARTED THAT DAY THE RADIO WORKS FINE ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE UNTIL IT IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR IT STOPPED FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND STARTED UP AGAIN.

ABS MODULE FAILS AND THEN YOUR VECHIL IS STUCK IN GEAR WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS IN THE TRANSMISSION, SPEEDO FAILS AND VECHILE SITTING ON BICKS FOR YEARS UNTIL SOME TIME A PART BECOMES AVAILABLE IN A SCRAPYARD.

Abs ,traction control, and brake lights stay on I took it to the dealer they told me it was internal failure on the abs module I can't afford 1200$ to fix it I'm in a jeep club this is a common problem it should be recalled and fixed for free it's a safety hazard. And you lose power you can't even pass another car when all the lights are illuminated.

When it first started, I would have to be going at minimum 55-60 mph. But it got so bad to the point that I would be going 15-20 mph and out of nowhere my vehicle would start violently shaking and my steering wheel would jerk side to side. The ONLY way to get it to stop would be to completely let off the pedals and let it come to a complete stop by itself. Hitting the brakes could cause it to flip. Having to come to a stop, regardless of the location could cause a serious accident or pile up. Trying to control the steering wheel when this is occurring could cause an accident as well. This is not something that happens here and there. This incident is so frequent that there are websites that try to warn and help others bc it happens so after. Its cost me $4000 trying to fix it. Please look into this and help us resolve this issue before it costs someone their dad or mom or brother or sister, or someone their child or grandchild. Thank you for your time. It is greatly appreciated.

WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE, WHICH WAS 3 DAYS NEW TO US, EXHIBITED THE CLASSIC JEEP DEATH WOBBLE. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE FROM SIDE TO SIDE AND ONLY STOPPED ONCE THE BRAKE WAS ACTIVATED. THIS HAPPENED 4 TIMES BEFORE THE ALIGNMENT WAS RIGHTED AND A PART REPLACED.

Driving sometimes with cruise on and sometimes not or going up a slight inclined the car will lose RPM goes down and then back up. I Was merging on to a highway went to give it gas and RPM goes down and I had 2 semis coming up on me so had to pull over to shoulder. It is very unsafe because you just dont know when it is going to do it. Have had it in to dealership computer and no code. But very very frustrating. They have put computer on and drove around and of course it wouldnt do it. We are at our end of the rope we don't know what to do. Service dept just said if it doesn't throw a code cant do anything. I guess when we get hit they wiil do something.

ON JULY 3, 2014, THE VEHICLE LOST ENGINE POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING DURING A 150-MILE ROAD TRIP. UPON COASTING FOR A SHORT DISTANCE, ENGINE POWER RESTORED, AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND CONTINUE DRIVING WITHOUT FURTHER TROUBLE THAT DAY. I DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR BECAUSE I ASSUMED IT WAS AN ISOLATED EPISODE. HOWEVER, ON JULY 22, 2014, I AGAIN HAD TROUBLE WHILE ON ANOTHER 300-MILE ROUND-TRIP ROAD TRIP. DURING THE RETURN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE LOST ENGINE POWER AT LEAST SIX TIMES BOTH ON THE INTERSTATE AND ON LOCAL ROADS. EACH TIME, I HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SO AS TO NOT BLOCK THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. AFTER A SHORT TIME, ABOUT 30 SECONDS, ENGINE POWER RESTORED, AND I WAS AGAIN ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND CONTINUE ON WITH MY TRIP. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER ON JULY 23, 2014, WHERE IT WAS KEPT UNTIL JULY 28, 2014. THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE, AND THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED. SOFTWARE UPDATES WERE RUN IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AGAIN HAD TROUBLE WITH THE VEHICLE ON AUGUST 18, 2014, WHEN DRIVING A 400-MILE ROUND-TRIP ROAD TRIP. DURING THE DRIVE, THE VEHICLE LOST ENGINE POWER FIVE TIMES ON THE INTERSTATE, AT SPEEDS UP TO 70 MILES PER HOUR. UPON THE FIFTH EPISODE THAT DAY, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE CLOSEST DEALER FOR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION, AS I FEARED I WOULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BY LOSING ENGINE POWER WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE, BUT THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT HE SAW SIGNS OF THE PROBLEM I DESCRIBED DURING HIS EVALUATIVE DRIVE. With less than 30,000 miles, this car developed a "death wobble." At unpredictable moments, the whole car will start shaking and it is nearly impossible to control the steering wheel. Until you slow down to almost a stop, the shaking continues indefinitely. I've since discovered that this a known problem with Jeeps, but Jeep refuses to contribute a penny to fixing it.

WAS TRAVELING IN OUR 3 WEEK OLD 2014 JEEP WRANGLER 2 DOOR AUTOMATIC IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA. HEADING WEST ON A REMOTE TWO LANE HIGHWAY IN APPROX. 84 DEGREE DRY CONDITIONS. SPEED LIMIT IN THIS AREA IS 55. I CAME UPON A FARM TRUCK WHO WAS TRAVELING AT APPROX. 45-50 MPH. WHEN CONDITIONS WERE SAFE, I PULLED INTO THE ONCOMING LANE AND PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE VERY HARD TO PASS THE FARM VEHICLE IN A SAFE DISTANCE. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON BUT WAS CURRENTLY NOT IN USE. AS I WAS ALMOST AROUND THE FARM VEHICLE I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AT FULL THROTTLE. I FIRST VIEWED THE ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO SEE IF IT WAS CLEAR WHILE AT THE SAME TIME I STOMPED ON THE BRAKE. I ALSO TURNED THE CRUISE CONTROL COMPLETELY OFF. AN ERROR MESSAGE FLASHED ON THE DASH HOWEVER DUE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES I DID NOT SEE WHAT IT INDICATED. THE BRAKING HELPED BUT AS SOON AS I TOOK THE FOOT OFF THE BRAKE IT CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AT FULL THROTTLE. I WOULD ESTIMATE THAT THE JEEP REACHED A SPEED OF 100 WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I THEN PREPARED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL BUT FIRST REACHED AND GRABBED THE FLOOR MAT AND YANKED IT AS HARD AS I COULD TO PULL IT AWAY FROM THE GAS PEDAL AS I WAS STILL UNSURE OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THE ISSUE FELT MORE LIKE AN ELECTRONIC ISSUE THEN A GAS PEDAL CAUGHT ON A FLOOR MAT. HOWEVER THIS DID SEEM TO STOP THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. ONCE HOME I VERIFIED THAT I COULD NOT SEE IN ANY WAY HOW THE FLOOR MAT WOULD HOLD DOWN THE GAS PEDAL AS THE GAS PEDAL SNAPS BACK WITH QUITE A BIT OF FORCE WHEN PUSHING THE FLOOR MAT IN FRONT OF THE PEDAL. THE CAR IS IN FOR REEVALUATION AND REPAIR AS I AM WRITING THIS MAKING IT THE THIRD TIME IN THREE WEEKS THE CAR IS BEING REPAIRED FOR THE SAME ISSUE (03/17/2017 [MASSEY YARDLEY]). THIS INVOLVES THE MOTOR OIL IN THE VEHICLE AND LEAKS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IDLE OR BEING DRIVEN. ONCE THE WRANGLER IS DRIVEN THE THE OIL HEATS UP, AND THINS OUT, CAUSING THE OIL TO LEAK IN LARGER AMOUNTS AND FASTER. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE LEAKING OIL CAN START AN ENGINE FIRE OR TOO MUCH OIL LOST CAN CAUSE AN ENGINE TO BE DAMAGED OR EVEN SEIZE. I had repairs done to my Jeep in April 2024. At that time, I was made aware that my ABS control module was faulty and no longer functioning. I have been periodically checking with my mechanic and online to check the status of this part, only to find that it has been an ongoing issue with some models having this part unavailable since 2019. At the end of October 2025, I began having a major safety issue in which my Jeep's engine will shut off without warning and the only reason I will be aware is because the wheel will no longer turn easily (trying to turn without power steering). In addition, there will at times be a fluctuation of power either having a an extreme spike or drop in RPMs causing the Jeep to lurch while driving. The cruise control cannot be used with this issue, and I have also experienced malfunctions in the traction control (i.e. hydroplaning in a very small puddle in the road that a normal car could handle, let alone a Jeep). I have been waiting patiently for a year and a half and there are no updates available for Jeep owners, and the issues caused by this lack of parts could cause fatalities on the road or leave individuals with a very expensive, undrivable vehicle followed by the additional cost of purchasing a new vehicle. This is unacceptable for an extremely large and popular vehicle manufacturer to be unable to come to an agreement with parts manufacturers to resume production of a crucial vehicle part.

While driving in town the red warning lights came on (Traction control, abs lights) Vehicle would not shift when trying to accelerate, speedometer not working along with a few other issues. Mechanic said abs module needs to be replaced. Then he informed me that the part is not available for purchase and not being manufactured anymore. I now have a vehicle that is useless and not safe to drive. This is unacceptable customer service. Very disappointed in Jeep for not addressing this problem or offering an alternative solution. I can not afford to buy another car.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the ongoing issue with the ABS control module in my vehicle. For the past two years, this component has been faulty, leaving me without ABS functionality, traction control, and proper braking performance. As a result, I have experienced several dangerous situations in which my vehicle was nearly involved in accidents due to these safety deficiencies. Despite my efforts to resolve the matter, I have been unable to obtain the replacement part. I have contacted multiple dealerships, suppliers, and even Mopar directly, yet I have been given no estimated timeframe for delivery. I currently have the part on order, fully paid for, and after two years there is still no indication of when or if it will become available. This situation has created serious safety concerns for both myself and other motorists. Furthermore, I am unable to trade in or properly service my vehicle due to this unresolved issue. I find this unacceptable and believe it demonstrates a significant failure in both product support and customer service. I respectfully request immediate action to resolve this matter, whether through expedited access to the replacement part, an alternative solution, or other appropriate corrective measures. My priority is ensuring my vehicle is safe to operate, and I urge you to address this situation without further delay.

Our ABS Control module has failed. p/n 68145835AE. It's available at any time to inspect. The ABS system does not function. In a rain or snow situation this could cause severe harm to us and others on the road. Our local service center that works on a wide array of Jeep Wrangler products says they have other customers with the same problem on this specific model. It is also reported substantially on online Jeep enthusiast forums. The unit in our Jeep has been looked at by our service center. There are warning lights on the dash indicating the ABS is non-functional. This failed in May 2024. The ABS module also controls speed control and that also is no longer working. It has been this way for over a year. Other Jeep owners with this similar issue have reported the same issue. This appears to be a systemic issue that Jeep is very aware of but has taken no action to correct. The cost if I want to have this repaired is $1,200 plus labor.

The airbag light is staying on, the horn is not working, inoperable steering wheel buttons (for switching between dashboard options like mileage, temperature, and information) as well as radio and cruise control buttons. Occasionally, all dashboard lights will come and and flicker, the dome light and all interior lights will flicker as well for a few seconds. I believe the Jeep is affected by the clockspring issue covered by S40 / NHTSA 16V-288. However, because my VIN is not connected with this recall, no manufacturer service center will address it.

Pep boys and auto zone both describe there is an internal malfunction with no specific codes , they can not prescribe a fix as the speed wheel sensors are working ok. Jeep forums say it may not be safe to drive as wheels may lock under hazardous driving conditions.

When driving at Interstate Speeds (65-70), and any roadway imperfections (uneven pavement, pot holes, broken pavement) are hit, the vehicle will start to violently shake, will feel like you'll lose control and sometimes the vehicle fishtails. I did Google Searches on this to see if other Jeep Owners were having similar problems, and found many instances for this model year. They referred to this as the "death wobble". I took mine into the dealership and they did over $1000 worth of work to it, and it has helped it some. Not sure that it is completely fixed.

FOUR MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING A USED WRANGLER UNLIMITED I GOT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND CODES P0205 AND P0305. UPON READING UP ON THESE CODES IT IS A VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 3.6L PENTASTAR ENGINE. THE INJECTOR COIL HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED IN CYLINDER 5 SO MY GUESS IS THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE SAME ISSUE. IT HAS SLIGHTLY OVER 60,000 MILES ON IT AND IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER ENGINE WARRANTY. MY STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS ARE NO LONGER WORKING. THIS INCLUDES THE HORN, CHANNEL AND VOLUME CONTROL. THEY WILL WORK WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED 45DEG FROM TOP DEAD CENTER. ALSO, THE LAST WEEK OF 2/2019 THERE WAS A LARGE OIL SPOT ON MY GARAGE FLOOR DUE TO AN OIL COOLER/OIL HOUSING LEAK. WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE SERVICE SUPERVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON OCCURANCE AND THE OIL COOLER/HOUSING UNIT IS REPLACED OFTEN. HOW IT IS POSSIBLE THAT CHRYSLER CAN ALLOW THIS? AT 47000 MILES THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN AND IS ENEXCEPTABLE.UNTIL THIS EXTENSIVE REPAIR IS COMPLETED THE VEHICLE IS IS RENDERED USELESS AND MY JOB IS NOW INTERRUPTED. IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT THE LEFT-HAND DRIVE VEHICLES ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE AND ARE NO MORE EXEMPT FROM THESE CONTAMINATION FAILURES. I TOWED IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND WAS CALLED THE "TIPM MODULE" WHICH IS BASICALLY THE ENTIRE FUSE BOX AND PART OF THE COMPUTER. I WAS STUCK THERE IN NORTH CAROLINA FROM MARYLAND FOR FOUR EXRA DAYS. NOW AFTER GETTING BACK HOME TO MARYLAND ON 6/5/16 I GO TO TRY AND ACCELORATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY FROM A RAMP AND THE TRANSMISSION REVS TO 5,500 RPM BUT THE JEEP WILL NOT ACCELERATE. INCIDENT 1.) ON AUGUST 18TH, 2015 AROUND 6:20 AM (NOT EVEN 12 HOURS FROM THE FIRST INCIDENT ABOVE) I WAS DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE OF THE GSP TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 70- 75 MPH WHEN MY VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY BRAKED HARD AS IF IT WAS A 'BRAKE CHECK' AND THE ABS TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT LIT AT THE SAME TIME. IT WAS LIKE I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES ONLY THIS HAPPENED WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE ACCELERATOR. I QUICKLY LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THE CAR BEHIND ME SHOOT INTO THE ADJACENT LANE TO MY RIGHT IN AVOIDANCE OF A COLLISION WITH MY REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED QUICKLY AND HARSHLY AND THEN IT WAS OVER. I MOVED INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND CONTINUED TO WORK WITH CAUTION. I CALLED MY LOCAL JEEP SERVICE CENTER AND EXPLAINED MY SITUATION. THEY WERE GOING TO SCHEDULE ME FOR THE EARLIEST APPOINTMENT OF AUGUST 31ST 2015 BUT I STRESSED THAT THIS WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH AS IT WAS A POTENTIAL SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE TO MYSELF AND OTHERS. I WAS DIRECTED TO BRING IT IN TOMORROW 8-19-15 IN THE MORNING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

I AM REQUESTING THAT DOT NHTSA INVESTIGATE THE STRESS FRACTURE TO MY FRONT WINDSHIELD WHICH SUDDENLY OCCURRED IN LATE FEBRUARY OF 2015. THE JEEP WAS PARKED IN MY MOTHER'S DRIVEWAY IN NEW JERSEY FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS DUE TO THE BIRTH OF MY BABY AND INCLEMENT WEATHER. DURING THAT PERIOD A GREAT DEAL OF ICE AND SNOW ACCUMULATED. EVENTUALLY I STARTED THE VEHICLE, AND STARTED CLEARING THE CAR. I NOTICED A CRACK IN THE WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE RUNNING FROM THE BOTTOM TOWARD THE TOP, APPROXIMATELY 4"-5" LONG THAT HAD NOT BEEN THERE BEFORE. AFTER 15 MINUTES THE CRACK SPREAD TO 6" ACROSS AND THEN BACK DOWN THE WINDSHIELD TO THE POINT WHERE IT PARTLY BLOCKED THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE WINDOW FEELS PERFECTLY SMOOTH, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CAR. IT CLEARLY FORMED INSIDE THE WINDOW. I TOOK THE JEEP TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS A STRESS FRACTURE PROBABLY DUE TO FREEZING CONDITIONS ALONG WITH THE HEAT FROM THE DEFROSTER. THE INDIVIDUAL I SPOKE WITH CONCEDED IT WAS IN ALL PROBABILITY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT SINCE HE HAD HEARD OF "A LOT OF OTHER CASES LIKE MINE" BUT WOULD NOT BE QUOTED ON THAT. HE CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO REFUSED TO COVER THE WINDSHIELD DAMAGE BECAUSE ALTHOUGH I ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR SEVEN MONTHS, THE MILEAGE WAS OVER 12,000. I HAVE CONTINUED TO INVESTIGATE INCIDENCES OF STRESS FRACTURE DAMAGE TO FRONT WINDSHIELDS IN THE JEEPS AND HAVE COLLECTED A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF DATA THROUGH NUMEROUS COMPLAINT BLOGS THAT SUPPORTS THE FACT THAT EITHER THE JEEP WINDSHIELDS THEMSELVES ARE DEFECTIVE OR SOME PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE DESIGN ITSELF MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR CONSIDERABLE HEAT TO BE TRAPPED BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND DASHBOARD TO THE POINT WHERE STRESS CAUSES THE WINDOW TO CRACK. RATHER THAN ADDRESS THE ISSUE, CHRYSLER IS INSTEAD FORCING OWNERS TO GO THROUGH THEIR PRIVATE INSURANCE FOR REPAIRS. PLEASE FORMALLY INVESTIGATE." *TR

I STARTED JEEP, THE RADIO CHANNEL MYSTERIOUSLY CHANGED, DROVE APPROX 1 MILE, CAME TO A STOP LIGHT AT A BUSY MOUNTAIN INTERSECTION AND THE ENTIRE JEEP BLACKED OUT, I LOST ALL FUNCTIONS, WE WERE ALMOST REAR ENDED AND T BONED AT THE SAME TIME, RETURNED THE JEEP TO PARK AND RESTARTED. I TOOK THE JEEP TO DEALER THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T RECREATE PROBLEM, I DROVE JEEP OFF THE PROPERTY ONLY TO HAVE IT DIE AT THE FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHT, PUT INTO PARK RESTARTED ONLY TO HAVE IT DIE AGAIN. FINALLY MADE IT BACK TO JEEP, THEY'VE HAD IT FOR A WEEK AND THEY CLAIM THEY STILL CANT FIND THE PROBLEM. I DON'T TRUST THE VEHICLE NOR DO I FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IN THE MOUNTAINS WHICH IS WHERE I LIVE. ALSO NOTE, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER, SO DOES THAT MEAN THE AIRBAGS WONT DEPLOY. INCIDENT: WHILE STOPPING IN TRAFFIC WITH THE FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE MY JEEP HAD AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CAUSING A REAR IN CRASH. THIS UNINTENDED ACCELERATION HAPPEN BEFORE ON A TRIP TO TENNESSEE IN JUNE BUT WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE FLOOR MAT WHICH NOW IS KNOWN NOT TO BE THE CASE. ( BOTH WERE WITNESSED BY THE PASSENGER) THESE INCIDENTS AND COMPLAINT WERE GIVEN TO CHRYSLER REGARDING THE EXPERIENCE WITH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATING AND SURGING. HOWEVER, CHRYSLER DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY REGARDING THE MALFUNCTION WHICH RESULTED IN THE ACCIDENT. BECAUSE I REALIZED THE JEEP WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL CHRYSLER JEEP DEALER. DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS AND TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. I REFUSE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND BOUGHT ANOTHER CAR. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY NEW VEHICLE WAS TOLD NOT TO SELL IT UNTIL THE TIMP IS REPLACED IN THE JEEP. I ALREADY BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER ONCE AND THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG AND NOTHING RECORDED. WHAT HAPPENED, DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND EVERY WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FLASHING THEN STOPS. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STAYED ON. THE SECOND TIME THEY ALL LIT UP WHEN I STOPPED THE JEEP DIDN'T START, EVERYTHING HAD POWER JUST DIDN'T START AND WHEN I TOOK THE KEY OUT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAID KEY STILL IN THE IGNITION. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES THE JEEP STARTED AND THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WAS ON. TOOK IT IN TO DEALER AND THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN AS I DESCRIBED ABOVE. FOUND ON ANOTHER FORUM THAT THEY HAD TO GET THE SENSOR REPLACED. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND IF SO WHAT DID YOU FIND OUT TO CORRECT THE ISSUE.
