I recently got into an accident in my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. My airbags never deployed however. Also my buttons on the left side of my steering wheel do not work and my horn does not work. After realizing all this I believe it is an issue with the clock spring. I did research and found in 2024 there was a recall for the clock spring but only in the RHD model. My car is a LHD model but it seems the same issue has occurred and my clock spring failed.

My ABS Control module has failed. The Jeep has been in the shop now for 75 days with no MOPAR part delivery known as of 11/28/25. I have had 4 ABS wheel sensors go bad and not the module is bad. The vehicle surges, will not accelerate, etc.

ABS module started to fail about a year ago but was only recently identified (within the last two weeks). ABS module listed for back order with more than 500 orders ahead of mine within Jeep dealership system. Order placed outside of dealership via Mopar website but listed as shipping next month (16-28 December).

The ABS Module has failed causing the stabiltrak , brake light , and ABS lights to come on the dash. We took it to the dealer and evidently this is a common issue with the jeep wranglers and dodge rams.. So much that the part is back ordered and there is no eta. Some people have been waiting over a year. They say it’s under engineering review. Anyway My Wife was driving the other day and someone had pulled out in front of her and she hit the brakes real hard and it made a weird noise and the brakes locked up. Almost causing her to swerve and lose control. I have the service report that says ABS module and backed ordered with no eta.. I have heard other peoples jeeps just going over to broke mode and can only drive 30 mph. It’s crazy? What are we the consumer supposed to do. Can’t afford to trade it in for another vehicle. But need a vehicle for work or keep driving it and hope brakes or something else doesn’t fail when you need it… Thank You

My vehicle would not start, leaving me in the freezing cold after a 10 hour shift at work. After having the vehicle towed to a service center & a week of inspection, I was notified that the engine had siezed up & needed replaced. The engine oil, front & rear differential, & transfer case fluids had just been changed a week prior. There was no engine warning light prior to this event.

I recently had my oil changed about 3 weeks ago from today. Three (3) days ago, while I was driving, my engine lamp came on and my engine began to run hot. I didn't understand why given that I had just got the oil changed. I pulled to the side of the road and turned the car off to allow it to cool down. It would not crank and I had to have it towed to the auto shop to be serviced which is where they told me that the engine needed replacement.

After I made a left turn onto a four-lane highway, the transmission stuck in first gear and I wasn't able to get over to the shoulder because of traffic passing on the right side. I was nearly rear-ended twice before finally being able to exit with a left turn. The engine light came on soon after this happened.

2016 Wrangler 4 door 4x4 Automatic transmission, 110,000 miles, 4x4 used maybe for 30 minutes total in it's lifetime since I purchased it brand new. Transmission does not want to shift out of 4th into 5th, this was noticed when my RPM's never seemed to drop going down interstate at any speed, after the transmission has already shifted through 1st, 2nd, 3rd into 4th. I've noticed also that the transmission tends to linger in 3rd gear to long as well. I've had to put into manual mode and shift manually to get it out of 4th into 5th gear. This has been ongoing for a very long time, dealership unable to identify problem. Is this an isolated problem or others experiencing this also?

The transmission shifter for the manual transmission has become loose and the entire shaft rotates making shifting gears nearly impossible. It caused me to shift into the incorrect gear yesterday and slowed the Jeep down quickly which is dangerous while driving in traffic.

Oil filter housing is made of plastic and over time the plastic, exposed to heat cycle and elements from being under the plenum, becomes brittle and cracks. The cracks in the oil filter housing create a susbtantial oil leak that drips engine oil onto the exhaust and is a potential for a fire. If the oil level is not properly maintained it could also create a lack of lubrication on the engine for a potential engine lock up while being driven.

Vehicle has 52940 miles on it only easy driving, never towed anything and all maintenance done at the dealership where it was purchased. Driving down the road has started whining. Transmission shot and needed rebuild or replacement. Jeep Wave and corporate not willing to help. 5 year/60,000 mile warranty that expired in July of 2022. Both dealerships and transmission shop stated that the transmission was done and needed rebuild or replacement.

Stopped at traffic light. Hit from behind, into vehicle in front of said vehicle. Air bags did not deploy. Police report filed; insurance representative, jeep dealership all have inspected. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failure. Rear ended at traffic light. Front end and back end damaged- jeep was undrivable, wrecker service removed from the accident scene. Driver was transported by ambulance and admitted to the hospital.

Vehicle under-body gas tank skid plate is rusting from the inside out. My mechanic has advised me that he has seen many of the JK model Jeep Wranglers gas skid plates rust away from the inside out. Due to the nature of its location the inner portion rusting away is difficult to see this happening. Should this rust away and let go it could result in the gas tank falling from the vehicle at operating speeds on public roads. I was urged to report this as a safety problem.

By way of introduction, I am a seventy-five year old retired Arizona Highway Patrol officer, having left that service in 1992. In October 2016, I purchased new, a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon from York Chrysler in Prescott, Arizona, VIN: [XXX]. Sometime after the purchase, the vehicle began to have a disturbing, recurring problem. While in normal operation, the engine will stop. It is as if the ignition has been turned off. The drill I have developed is, while the Jeep is coasting, to shift to Neutral, re-start the engine, shift to Drive, and proceed. Sometimes, the Check Engine Light activates, and sometimes, although less frequently, this is accompanied with the Electrical Stability Control (ESC) Off indicator light. The first time I documented the phenomenon with a visit to the dealership was 17 May 2023. However, I believe that the problem had happened several times prior to that date. Since then, the vehicle has exhibited this problem numerous times; sometimes at a stop, more often while proceeding in normal operation. The engine has stalled several times on the Phoenix, Arizona, freeway system during heavy traffic. Today, the engine stalled again, but would NOT re-start while coasting. I was forced to come to a complete stop, shift to Park, re-start, shift to Drive, and proceed. Often after a re-start, the transmission has difficulty in going into gear, even while in Drive. I have been advised at the dealership that the problem has occurred many times, to many drivers, but that Chrysler cannot diagnose the problem, and thus can’t fix it. Logic suggests that if a collision has not yet been precipitated by this condition, it surely will be… I have discovered that a class-action suite is being considered. Chrysler must be very aware of the problem, yet is effectively forcing owners of the affected vehicles to operate unsafe Jeeps on the public streets. I had an error message for the thermostat last week had that replaced. Now there is a puddle of oil coming from the oil coolant assembly. Replaced the thermostat awaiting mechanic for the oil coolant issue now.

Cold start, engage reverse and the engine idles really low and sometimes stalls. If I move the shifter to neutral the engine revs back up and does not stall. Rolling down the driveway and then engage reverse the problem does not occur. The issue has been getting worse whether its in the dead of winter or summer.

MY DAUGHTER HAD HER RIGHT HAND PINKY FINGER TOP SEMI AMPTUATED WITH A TUFT FRACTURE WITH THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR OF THE STRIKER AND LATCH. THIS HAPPENED ON JAN 2019 AND WE PAID OVER 10K IN MEDICAL BILLS AND HER PINKY IS DISFIGURED. WE HAVEN'T REACH OUT TO LAWYERS BUT WE DO SEE A FLAW WITH THE STRIKER AND DOOR SETUP WITH THE 4 DOOR JEEPS THAT A REDESIGN OR COVER WOULD HELP. THE ISSUE IS ANY BOOSTER SEAT OR CHILD CAR SEAT PUTS A TODDLER OR KIDS HAND/FINGERS AT RISK WHICH FALL WITHIN 1-2 INCHES FROM THE BRACKET OF THE DOOR OF THE ARM REST OF MOST MAJOR BRAND SEATS. THIS SITS LEVEL TO THE STRIKER AND LATCH. THE PROXIMITY OF THE SEATBELT AND THE LEVEL AT THE DOOR STRIKER IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR LITTLE ONES SITTING IN BACK. THERE IS NO GUARD OR BARRIER TO PREVENT FROM TINY FINGER BEING CAUGHT IN THE STACK AND BEING STRUCK BY THE DOOR OR STRIKER. FROM THE INSIDE, WITH THE DOOR CLOSED, YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE REAR DOOR STRIKER AND LATCH. NOT ONLY FINGERS BUT HAIR TOO IS A PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 40 WESTBOUND OUT OF MEMPHIS, I FOUND THE WINDS WERE GUSTY BLOWING FROM THE NORTHWEST HITTING ME THE RIGHT FRONT. SUDDENLY I WAS OVERTAKEN BY A LARGE TRACTOR TRAILER AND MY HOOD STARTED FLUTTERING FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN STOPPED. THEN IT HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES, EVEN WITH NO TRUCK PASSING, JUST A GUST OF WIND. I STOPPED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE RUBBER LATCHES WERE SECURE AND THEY WERE, NOTHING WAS LOOSE AND I COULD NOT PHYSICALLY MOVE THE HOOD WHILE IT WAS STILL LATCHED. THIS BEHAVIOR HAS REPEATED ON OTHER OCCASIONS INVOLVING WIND AND HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. I'M SURE WIND WAS CAUGHT UNDER THE HOOD AND THE PRESSURE WAS FORCING THE HOOD TO FLUTTER. THE RUBBER LATCHES DID NOT FULLY SECURE THE HOOD TO THE VEHICLE ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE FLUTTERING.

MY HOOD FLUTTERS AT ANY SPEED ABOVE ROUGHLY 35MPH. IT FLUTTERS SO BAD THAT I BELIEVE THE RUBBER STRAPS ARE GOING TO BREAK WHICH WOULD CAUSE THE HOOD TO OPEN AND BLOCK THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING. IT IS 100% WORSE WHEN PASSING A TRACTOR TRAILER OR ANY TYPE OF BIGGER TRUCK.

THE JEEP WRANGLER HAS NO LOCKING HOOD LATCH, INSTEAD ONLY LATCHES ON THE OUTSIDE THAT USE A RUBBER PIECE TO SECURE IT. ME ALONG WITH 1000'S HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE LATCHES DUE TO STRETCHING THAT CAUSES HOOD FLUTTER, RESULTING IN HORRIBLE GAS MILEAGE AND SOME IT HAS EVEN DAMAGED THE HOOD IF NOT TAKEN CARE OF IMMEDIATELY. LUCKILY I REPLACED MY LATCHES BUT NOT AFTER I HAD TO PAY FOR NEW LATCHES BECAUSE OF JEEPS DEFECT

ABS modulator not working in jeep. Warning lights on dash currently are: ABS, traction control and brake light. Jeep dealer confirmed ABS modulator is defective. Unable to replace/repair due to backordered item as of 11/24. Stated possibly not available until 2/25. Jeep will randomly not shift gears while driving, speedometer not working, gas pedal sticking occasionally, rough braking with brake pedal shaking when braking. When shifting into Park vs Drive or reverse the jeep will jerk/lunge forward.

I WAS ON A MAJOR CITY STREET BEHIND A SLOW MOVING VEHICLE. I MADE A MANUVER TO PASS THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AND THE CAR ACCERERATED ON IT'S OWN. I COULD ACTUALLY FEEL THE GAS PEDAL BEING PULLED DOWN (AS MY FOOT WAS STILL GENTLY ON THE PEDAL). I IMMEDIATELY LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR REACHED 36 MPH QUICKLY APPROACHING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME WHICH NOW WAS STOPPED. I IMMEDIATLEY STEPPED ON THE BRAKES HARD. THE CAR STOPPED AND THE RED WARNING LIGHT FOR THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR LIT ON THE DASH. I AM A CAR DEALER AND AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER WITH PROFESSIONAL DRIVER TRAINING. I FEEL MOST PEOPLE WOULD HAVE EXPERIENCED AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE WE PUT THE MANUFACTUER DIAGNOSTIC TOOL ON THE VEHICLE. WE WERE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THE REPORT. I ALSO TOOK PHOTOS OF THE DASH AND REPORTED TO THE FACTORY SERVICE REP AND FIELD TECHNICAL SPECIALIST.

PURCHASED PRE-OWNED ON NOV 9, 2019 WITH APPROX 23,100 MILES. ON JAN 2, 2020, AT APPROX 23,900 MILES, JEEP WAS ASCENDING EXIT RAMP WHILE BRAKING. CRUISE WAS ON BUT DISENGAGED. STARTED TO ACCELERATE UNEXPECTEDLY AND WITH BRAKE PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED, COLLIDED WITH CAR STOPPED AT LIGHT. SHUT ENGINE OFF AS JEEP CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AGAINST STOPPED CAR. ACCIDENT REPORT MADE. TOOK TO DEALER, WHO COULD FIND NO CAUSE FOR RANDOM ACCELERATION. DEALER CONTACTED MANUFACTURER WHO SENT 3RD PARTY INSPECTOR TO EXAMINE JEEP AND CONTENTS OF DATA RECORDER. RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MANUFACTURER TWO WEEKS LATER STATING THEY DID NOT 'BELIEVE' THE VEHICLE WAS AT FAULT. ON FEB 28, 2020 AT 24,564 MILES, JEEP WAS STOPPED AT LIGHT ON EXIT RAMP, WHEN SUDDENLY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. CRUISE WAS OFF. IMMEDIATELY SHUT ENGINE OFF, BUT WAS STILL PUSHED FORWARD A COUPLE FEET. LUCKILY WAS ALONE AT LIGHT, SO NO ACCIDENT. TOOK TO DEALER AGAIN, WHO COULD STILL FIND NO CAUSE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE THE DRIVER WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE REAR ENDED A DUMP TRUCK. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER'S ENGINEER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AT AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE; HOWEVER, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL READING IN THE RADIO FREQUENCY. THE ENGINEER CONCLUDED THAT THE ACCELERATION FAILURE WAS NOT CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,209.

The sway bar on the 2016 Jeep Rubicon sway bar engages and you lose ability to steer. This has happened on the expressway to us, several time. I have read about this issue, there was a class action lawsuit that did not go anywhere. This is very dangerous to the people driving and also to people around them. I

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE ABNORMALLY, AND THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER GOING OVER A MINOR BUMP IN THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VIDEON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 4951 WEST CHESTER PIKE NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA 19073, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING DAMPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO THE FAILURE LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V201000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

Vehicle cel for misfire. Replace plugs and coils. Still happens. Dealership says it needs a new engine? My research shows that this is an extremely common problem with Jeep engines. I am aware of a class action suit regarding this issue. I’m not sure of the status. Vehicle has just under 129k miles and is therefore out of warranty. Jeep/FCA knew these engines had problems and continued to sell them without disclosing the highly likely problems ownere would encounter.

On multiple occasions, while operating my vehicle on the freeway, I have encountered a highly alarming problem. The engine of my car has unexpectedly shut off, resulting in a sudden loss of power and control. This has happened when driving between 45-75mph. This has placed me and other road users in extremely dangerous situations, as it has occurred at high speeds where maneuvering and reacting swiftly are essential. I have taken immediate action to have the issue investigated and resolved by authorized service centers. However, despite their efforts, the problem persists, leaving me deeply concerned about the reliability and safety of my vehicle. This recurring issue indicates a potential flaw in the design or manufacturing of the engine or related components.

Parked vehicle outside corner of home at 9:00 pm. Awoken by loud popping and hissing sounds at 4:45AM. Looked outside to notice a bright orange hue by vehicle. Realizing the car was on fire, we called 911 and proceeded to use garden hose to water down both the vehicle and the home that the car was next to, in order to try to prevent the house from also catching fire. Vehicle was not moved nor accessed during those 7 overnight hours. It was locked and we were all asleep. There were two other vehicles parked next to and behind the vehicle that caught fire - those two other vehicles sustained no damage to them. The house sustained some minimal siding warping from the heat of the fire. Fire chiefs reviewing the damage in person as well as viewing photos have stated that it appears to be battery or fuse box related as that side of the engine's damage was greatest as well as the battery and fuse box being completely destroyed by the fire. No warning lights or indications of system failures or malfunctions prior to parking the car. Vehicle was towed away from scene by insurance company. Unsure if vehicle is still at that lot or not. Insurance deemed vehicle totaled and issued check for losses.

THE WHEEL SPEED SENSORS ARE NOTORIOUS TO GIVE OUT IN THESE VEHICLES. EVEN AT LOW MILEAGE. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON LIMITING PERFORMANCE AND CAUSING ISSUES REQUIRING IMMEDIATE SERVICE. THEIR ARE MANY JEEP OWNERS I HAVE ENCOUNTERED WITH THIS ISSUE AND IT CAN BE EITHER LOCATION OR INAPPROPRIATE GUARD TO COVER WIRING. JEEP STATES IT IS PART OF MAINTENANCE BUT A SIMPLE PLASTIC COVER WOULD ALLEVIATE A LOT OF THE ISSUES THAT MAY BE ASSOCIATED TO DEBRI OR CAUSING FAULTY.

AFTER TURNING INTO A LARGE PARKING LOT FROM A CITY STREET WHILE STILL DRIVING THE 2016 JEEP WRANGLER JKU SPORT'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED ABRUPTLY BY THE ENGINE QUITTING AND NUMEROUS DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATING. THE NOW DEAD VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY COASTED TO A STOP AS SMOKE STARTING BILLOWING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE VEHICLE WAS QUICKLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THIS JEEP WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW 3 YEARS AND 3 WEEKS AGO AND HAD LESS THAN 16,000 MILES ON IT. TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE FIRE, THE BATTERY ABRUPTLY DIED AND WOULD NOT HOLD A CHARGE. AFTER A NEW TOP-OF-THE-LINE BATTERY WAS INSTALLED, THE DASH RED SECURITY LIGHT WOULD FLASH CONSTANTLY WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. JUST ONE DAY PRIOR TO THE FIRE THE JEEP WAS SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP TO ACCOMPLISH TWO SAFETY RECALL ITEMS RELATED TO AN AIRBAG WIRING HARNESS AND AIRBAG MODULE. THE JEEP'S WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE (WCM) WAS DIAGNOSED TO HAVE AN INTERNAL FAILURE BUT WAS NOT REPLACED AT THAT TIME DUE TO A WARRANTY DISPUTE AND ALSO AVAILABILITY OF THE MODULE. PRIOR TO THE BATTERY FAILURE, WHICH WAS JUST 1 WEEK BEYOND THE 3-YEAR WARRANTY DATE, THIS 2016 JEEP WRANGLER WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND HAD ZERO MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY SERVICING OUTSIDE OF ROUTINE OIL CHANGES AND SERVICE CHECKS. THE FIRE STARTED QUICKLY AND BURNED EXTREMELY HOT BURNING THROUGH THE FIREWALL AND INTO THE CABIN IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. FORTUNATELY THE OCCUPANT WAS ABLE TO EGRESS WITHOUT INJURY. THIS JEEP, WITH LESS THAN 16,000 MILES, IS A TOTAL LOSS. THE HOTSPOT ON THE HOOD APPEARS TO BE AROUND THE LOCATION OF THE FUSE BOX. The ABS Module (Part 68259556AD) on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler began failing about two years ago. When the ABS warning light turns on, both the ABS and traction-control systems stop functioning, creating a serious safety hazard: greatly increased stopping distance, reduced steering control under braking, and higher risk of loss of control on wet or slippery roads. The warnings, once intermittent, are now continuously illuminated, meaning the vehicle has no working ABS or traction control at any time. Performance Jeep of Somerville (Somerville, NJ) inspected the vehicle around September 2023 and confirmed the ABS module had failed. They also confirmed the replacement part was unavailable, with no estimate from Jeep on when it would be supplied, and suggested a possible upcoming national recall—none has been issued. The ABS module has now been on national backorder for roughly two years. Jeep’s parts division states the part is still “supported” but on “heavy backorder.” Jeep/Stellantis corporate opened a case, promised to “fast track” it, and later reported supplier “tooling/manufacturing” issues, offering no timeline for availability despite repeated follow-ups. Please note that Performance Jeep has informed me that they have several aging orders in for the ABS Module (Part 68259556AD) that they're unable to fulfill, so it would appear that on a national basis, there must be many Jeep owners such as myself who are experiencing this problem with no remedy in sight. Because the part cannot be obtained, the vehicle cannot be safely driven or repaired. This is a safety-critical defect with long-term parts unavailability. I am requesting NHTSA review and intervention, as the manufacturer has been unable to supply a federally required safety component, leaving the vehicle in an unsafe condition with no remedy.

WITHIN THE PAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE HAD TO REPAIR TWO ABS SENSORS, ONE IN THE FRONT AND ONE IN THE REAR. THIS LAST SENSOR BLOWOUT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS STOPPING AT A LIGHT. I HEARD A GRINDING SOUND AND FELT THE VIBRATION IN THE BREAK PEDDLE AS I TRIED TO STOP. THE JEEP THEN WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PROPERLY AFTER I GOT IT STOPPED AS I TRIED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD A PROBLEM MOVING THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AS THE ABS KEPT KICKING IN AND GRINDING ME TO A STOP. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE SENSOR WAS HAVING A ISSUE PICKING UP THE SPEED OF THE TIRES. MY JEEP WRANGLER SPORT IS A 2016 4 DOOR MODEL, IT SPENT 2017 IN A STORAGE AND I BOUGHT IT LATE 2016. IT CURRENTLY HAS 68795 MILES ON IT. IN THE 2 1/2 YEARS I HAVE HAD THIS ON THE ROAD I'VE REPLACED TWO ABS SENSORS, HAD IT IN THE SHOP FOR MISFIRING AND MY AC UNITS BLOWER MOTOR SEEMS TO BE FAILING. AS A COMPARISON, I HAVE A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER THAT HAS BEEN IN FOR LESS REPAIRS.

At 70000 miles our vehicle has an airbag warning light illuminated on the dashboard. After diagnostics it was determined that a OBD / DTC code was present : "B1B06 Driver Airbag Squib 2 Circuit Open" Per the manufacturer FCA, this code indicates an issue with the Airbag clockspring, and the driver side airbag may not deploy in case of a crash, hence placing the driver at risk of injury or death. Although FCA issued a safety recall for this issue, it only covers vehicles manufactured before May-2-2016. Our vehicle was manufactured on May-27 yet is suffering from the exact same issue, but not covered by the safety recall as per FCA representatives. "Safety Recall S40 / NHTSA 16V-288 Airbag Clockspring" Attached. This is apparently a known issue on many Jeep Wranglers, not just the ones manufactured between the posted dates, yet FCA does not offer support for vehicle owners whose airbag may not deploy in the case of a crash.

AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE ON AND OFF SUDDENLY WITHOUT REASON AFTER STARTING THE CAR. NOW THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS STEADY ON. MECHANIC RAN FAULT CODES AND RECEIVED ABOUT 15 FAULT CODES ON COMPUTER RELATED TO AIRBAG SYSTEM AND SRS. APPEARS TO BE SOME SORT OF MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

WHILE SITTING STILL I STARTED MY JEEP AND ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, THE FIRST FEW HOURS IT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF INTERMITTENTLY, NOW IT'S ON ALL OF THE TIME. WHEN I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING WHICH COSTS $410 FOR THE PART ALONE AND INFORMED ME THAT THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER WHICH TELLS ME THERE MUST BE A LOT OF JEEPS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN I ASKED THEM IF THAT MEANT MY AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY AT ANY TIME SHE SAID NO QUITE THE OPPOSITE IT MEANT IT WOULD NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. I AM A MAIL CARRIER AND HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHER 2016 RHD JEEP OWNERS AND THEY HAD RECALLS TO REPAIR THEIRS BUT MINE DIDN'T MAKE THE RECALL LIST. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited ABS, Brake, & Traction Control warning lights all came on at once while driving. Once jeep stopped vehicle went into limp mode limiting power and MPH to less than 30 MPH. Which is a huge safety problem when all the roads to and from out house are 45 MPH. ABS Module is bad per the dealer. Vehicle is VOR in the system, and undriveable. No estimate when a new part will arrive.

The jeep has an ABS module that went bad. I have been waiting months- perhaps over a year, and there is still no estimate on the part coming in. It is an essential part, one with no generic replacement. It is illegal for jeep to just leave all of us hanging.

Brakes are sticking causing extreme heat and damage to pads, rotors and calipers and I'm afraid there is a fire hazard as well. The brake also occasionally engage during acceleration at around 45 mph and cause a severe wobble that could also be a safety issue as the vehicle becomes hard to control. Dealership claimed the problem was a single brake line that was replaced, but the problem is still occurring and now they claim it is a second brake line but my mechanic assures me it is a faulty ABS module and the online reports indicate this is a real problem with jeep wranglers.

On July 19, 2024, my ABS and TRAC Control light (Anti-Lock Brake Light) came on. I took my vehicle in to the Myrtle Beach Jeep Dealership in South Carolina and after a complete checkI was informed that C2200-ANS Module Internal will require replacement and the part was currently being re-engineered and was on backorder for at least thirty days. When even tried calling other dealerships and was told that they are having the same problem. On August 27, 2024 I called and spoke with my Jeep service advisor (Jennie Jo, 843-448-1191) and was told that the ABS module is still be re-engineered and will not be available for another thirty days or longer. I saw on-line that numerous Jeep owners are having this serious problem with no relief. There has been no-recall and we cannot drive our vehicle do to the safety risk. I do not know why Jeep is not providing some relief or alternative to customer. I have never experience this type of situation. The dealerships are waiting on Jeep to provide the part and the part is not cheap, over $800 dollars to replace. Jeep needs to inform customer that this is a major safety issue and conduct a mass recall of these other Jeeps. We need help.

SEAT BELTS

The front passenger seatbelt wasn’t working properly and we noticed the belt was frayed so we ordered a new one from car parts direct. Today while taking the old belt out we noticed that the seatbelt unit itself wasn’t bolted into the jeep. It was bolted off to the side causing it to be crooked which is why the belt frayed because the entire unit was not in properly. The bolt that should be holding it in is still in the jeep yet the seatbelt unit came out very easily and you can clearly see where the bolt was sitting. I will include photos.

I BUCKLED MY SEATBELT AND FELT IT SLIP AS IF IT HAD COME UNBUCKLED. THE SEATBELT WAS LATCHED, BUT THE METAL BETWEEN THE LATCH AND THE SEAT FRAME HAD BROKEN IN TWO. TWO MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED MY JEEP I HAD AN ISSUE WITH REAR SEATBELT GETTING STUCK AND NOTICED A SLIGHT TEAR IN FABRIC. RECENTLY, WHEN I WENT TO GET CAR INSPECTED THAT THE TEAR WAS BIGGER AND THE CAR FAILED MASSACHUSETTS INSPECTION. SO, I PAID $400 TO REPLACE ENTIRE SEAT BELT (MY HUSBAND THOUGHT THE DOG HAD CHEWED), NOT REALIZING THE DEFECT HAD OCCURRED LONG BEFORE WE HAD GOTTEN THE PUPPY. THE WORK WAS DONE AT OHARA IN FALMOUTH. WAIT FOR PARTS WAS ABSURD. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. NOT EVEN A MONTH AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED AND THE SEATBELT TORN AGAIN.! AT THIS POINT, I INSPECTED ALL MY SEATBELTS AND NOTICES THAT BOTH REAR SEATBELTS (NOT THE MIDDLE) AND THE FRONT PASSENGER BELT ALL HAVE THE SAME EXACT TEAR TIGHT WHERE THE BUCKLE FALLS ON THE BELT. I WOULD LOVE TO BLAME THE DO, BUT THE DOG HAS NOT BEEN ALLOWED IN THE VEHICLE SINCE THE REPAIR. JEEP/CHRYSLER DOES NOT SEEMS TO BELIEVE THAT THIS A PRODUCT QUALITY DEFECT OR A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. THEY ALSO HAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE SEATBELTS ARE TEARING AND CLAIM THAT IT MUST BE SOMETHING THAT I AM DOING WITH THE VEHICLE. CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT I HAVE ONLY HAD 4 PASSENGERS RIDE IN MY BACKSEAT SINCE THE REPAIRS , I AM BAFFLED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. While driving on the highway going approximately 60 miles per hour, I felt something in the engine go quiet and I instantly had no gas pedal power. My foot was pressing on the gas pedal all the way to the floor board and the jeep would not speed up. I instantly put on my hazard lights. The jeep was still running but had no fuel power. I was unable to move over to the right lane of the highway because the Jeep was crawling to a stop and cars were flying past me in the right lane. No warning lights or check engine lights ever came on. My daughter was in the Jeep with me. She called 911. The Jeep came to a complete stop and died. We were stuck in the vehicle and could not exit because cars were speeding past us on both sides of the vehicle. We were almost hit from behind by a semi trailer. It swerved to the right lane at the last moment. We called 911 again and they said police were on the way. A vehicle stopped in the right lane and let my daughter and I exit the Jeep on the passenger side. My daughter was crying hysterically because she was so shook up from almost being hit by the semi trailer. Police finally arrived and called a tow truck. The Jeep was towed to the dealer where it was purchased. The service department inspected the Jeep. Said the Jeep did not register any codes. It started and was driving normal. They say it could be the fuel pump. I’ve ordered a fuel pump but it is unavailable at this time. Not sure when it will come into the dealer. In the meanwhile, I’m terrified that this will happen again. I will not be driving it on the highway at all and will only drive it when necessary to run errands. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than the service department at the dealer where the Jeep was purchased.

VEHICLE WITH APPROXIMATELY 58000 MILES WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. WHEN TURNING THE KEY TO ON, A HISSING SOUND AND A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE CAME FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE JEEP. TURNED OFF VEHICLE, AND EXITED THE CAR TO SEE A TWO FOOT WIDE PUDDLE OF GASOLINE UNDER THE CAR. . REPAIR SHOP INDICATED FAILURE OF PRESSURIZED GAS LINE COMING FROM TOP OF THE GAS TANK. IF AN IGNITION SOURCE HAD BEEN PRESENT THE CAR WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE. VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 14 MILES THAT DAY WITH NO ISSUES, THE FAILURE IN THE GAS LINE WAS SUDDEN AND COMPLETE.

I RENTED A JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED THROUGH ALAMO IN PUERTO RICO FOR 2 WEEKS. ON 5 OCCASIONS WHILE MY FOOT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE WITH FORCE, THE CAR SURGED FORWARD. MY FOOT WAS ONLY ON THE BRAKE. THE SPEED SENSOR FOR THE FRONT BRAKES ON MY 2016 JEEP WRANGLER FAILED AND LED TO COSTLY REPAIRS. THE BRAKES LOCKED UP SO BAD THEY STALLED THE JEEP WHEN I LET OUT THE CLUTCH. WHILE DRIVING IN NORMAL CITY CONDITIONS THE "ESC" LIGHT ILLUMINATED FOLLOWED BY THE "ABS" WARNING AND THE "HILL DECENT CONTROL" FLASHING. ONCE I FINISHED WITH MY BUSINESS, I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTED THE "ESC" AND "ABS" LIGHTS ON STEADY, AS I TURNED RIGHT ONTO THE CITY ROADWAY THE "ESC" STARTED FLASHING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, RPM'S DECREASED, BUT THE ENGINE DID NOT STALL. I EASED OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND IT SEEMED TO STABILIZE, THEN AS APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN, SAME THING, VEHICLE HESITATED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I TURNED RIGHT, OFF THE ROADWAY, ONTO A SIDE STREET AT WHICH TIME THE "ESC" AND "ABS" LIGHTS EXTINGUISHED AND THE NORMAL OPERATION RETURNED. THE ENTIRE SCENARIO OCCURRED TWO MORE TIMES DURING THE NEXT 3 MILES OF CITY STOP AND GO DRIVING, AFTER WHICH THE "ESC" AND "ABS" LIGHTS REMAINED ON STEADY AND THE VEHICLE NO LONGER HAD ACCELERATION ISSUES. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME SAFELY WITH THE "ESC" AND "ABS" ILLUMINATED STEADILY. This vehicle along with many others jeep wranglers have an issue with the abs control module. It has a code for internal processor fault. Some days the vehicle is fine and others it acts up and it won’t shift gears or the abs system activates by itself or the speedometer doesn’t work. This has been going on for almost a year now because there is no parts aviable to fix it. The dealer keeps saying it’s in engineering review but they been saying that for almost a year now. That’s how long mine has been acting up. My wife won’t even drive it with the kids in the car because she doesn’t know when it is going to act up. Luckly I only work 5 miles from my house so I’ve been driving it. If they know there’s an issue with these modules they should be doing something faster to fix it or there should be a recall. Something needs to be done.

The ABS control module has malfunctioned which lead to the ABS, traction control, and parking brake light coming on while driving. This is a safety concern due to a malfunction with these systems. These systems are meant to help control the vehicle when either sliding or braking quickly. An OBD scan tool was used, which read the code C2200 to confirm the malfunction.

There is a current recall for the RHD version of my Jeep for the clockspring. The bad clockspring causes many issues including air bag deployment issues. This issue does also affect the LHD. I’m currently dealing with it myself.

I started my Jeep. After a few minutes I could smell smoke and something burning. The alarm started going off, wipers came on, radio etc. smoke came inside cab . I tried to shut everything off but it wasn’t working. I started seeing flames around the hood. My husband was able to disconnect the battery and the fire died out. Insurance would not cover it and said it was electrical. The fuse box was melted and wire harnesses. The vehicle was right by our garage and could’ve caught our house on fire. My son and I were in the vehicle when the fire started. Thank God we weren’t hurt. I did report this but was told it wasn’t Jeeps fault. A week later another jeep caught fire in the small town I live in. Something isn’t right.

THE IMPACT BUCKLED MY FRAME AND TOTALED A 5 MONTH OLD VEHICLE, BUT FCA WANTS ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT WASN'T SEVERE ENOUGH FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. OUR JEEP HAS A RECALL FOR A SENSOR WIRE IN THE FRONT AREA OF THE VEHICLE. I DROPPED THE JEEP AT THE DEALERSHIP (MALL OF GEORGIA CHRYSLER JEEP IN BUFORD GA) AND RECEIVED A SHUTTLE RIDE HOME. I WAS CALLED A FEW HOURS LATER BY MY ADVISOR [XXX] AND TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REMOVE THE WINCH, WINCH PLATE, LIGHT BAR, AND LIGHTS ON THE FRONT BUMPER. THE TECH NEEDS TO REMOVE GRILL AND CANNOT WITH THIS EQUIPMENT IN THE WAY. THEY OFFERED TO REMOVE ALL THE EQUIPMENT FOR ME FOR $250. I TOLD THE ADVISOR ([XXX]) THAT THE LETTER RECEIVED IN THE MAIL IS ADAMANT THAT THIS IS TO BE DONE AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. HE TOLD ME THAT IT DID NOT INCLUDE CUSTOM EQUIPMENT. I have been waiting on a replacement ABS module for months , was told I could continue to drive the jeep by a jeep dealership, the part is on back order and no plans to put in productions; my shop can see that there is ove500 people waiting on this part that effects the operation of the Safety features designed on 11/29 my jeep would stopped abruptly in traffic and would not go forward or reverse just stuck - lucky i was not hit in the rear or causing a major accident, after turning on /off i was able to go 100 yards to get it out of traffic, and needed a tow . sitting at dealership - jeep payment , no jeep and no answers - along with many other people driving jeeps on the road today . -this may of caused other issues to my jeep as well.

In December of 2024, my jeep felt like a ghost was pressing my brakes. It got worse over time despite any troubleshooting we did and replacing sensors did not work. It went inot limp mode and would not drive out of second gear. Took it to my mechanic to find there is a national issue and back order problem with all ABS modules for Mopar/Jeep. I have read many jeep forums online and this issue started in 2020. As of now since January there is no true ETA on the replacement part. My jeep sits while paying for it and unable to repair. We sought a company to try to rebuild the old one and they can't either since the replacement chips are back ordered as well. Luckily I noticed the issue while driving slow on a dirt road, however, this issue could have pulled the vehicle into oncoming traffic or off the side of the road. Jeep has not issued a recall or any help for the ones that are not inoperable. Someone needs to step up and take responsibility for this issue. There are thousands of people involved from what I have read. Please help!

Driving at 50 MPH on high-speed concrete highway during a thunderstorm, my ABS and traction control lights came on and stayed on for a few minutes. In those few minutes, my car started slowly fish-tailing, so I pulled on to the side of the interstate. I turned off the engine completely and restarted, as well as other resets, to try to turn the ABS and traction control lights off. I started on to the highway again and got up to 50 MPH again with both lights still on. Again, my vehicle started shifting in the lane, so I pulled off the highway again and turned the car completely off. After a few more minutes, I restarted the vehicle engine, both lights remained on, and I got on to an asphalt surface for the remainder of my trip. Within half a mile, both lights turned off and the vehicle felt more secure on the road way. For the remainder of my drive, both lights remained off, but I did go through at least 4 standing puddles of water with no other issues with traction.

The ABS Pump Module on Jeep Wranglers are not working and Stellantis/Wrangler has stopped making replacement parts. If you look on [XXX] you can see that this is a nationwide issue and impacts Wrangler models spanning over several years (so far I've seen from 2014-2019). I've been trying to get the part for over a year to no avail. Also, the part is tied to the vehicle's VIN number, so you cannot use one from another Jeep (for example one from a junk yard). The safety issue is that the automatic braking system does not work properly. My Jeep also fishtails when driving in the rain. There are warning lights on the dash, which come on and off randomly. Mine do not stay on permanently. Initially, I tried to get this part replaced at a Firestone in CA, and then tried again at a mechanic in TX. Both told me the same thing, that the part is unavailable, no longer being made and that it is a national issue. A recall has not been issued either. Jeep Wrangler JK model with ABS issue. I had the "Brake" "ABS" and "Traction Control" light come on my dash. I took my Jeep to the dealership to diagnose the problem and have it resolved. I was told the "ABS Control Module" had a C2200 code that stated internal fault with the ABS Control Module. I had the dealership order one and I paid for it so I can make sure my family is safe driving the Jeep. I was informed by the dealership that the part was on back order and there was no timeline on replenishing off stock. The part was on "Engineering Hold" and would not be available anytime soon. The dealership gave my Jeep back to me and told me since it was the internal electrical part of the ABS control that I would be safe in driving my Jeep without this safety system. I have read multiple forms online stating others are having the same issue across the USA.

The ABS Traction Control Module in this year, and surrounding year, Jeep Wranglers continues to fail. Now Jeep has stated that the part is under engineering review and not available till June timeframe. Therefore, these vehicles no longer have anti lock brakes or traction control safety features. This is a widespread issue and should be a recall on these modules.

I HAVE GONE THROUGH OVER 4 SETS OF MUD TERRAIN TIRES OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS THAT ARE UNEVENLY WORN AND NO ONE KNEW WHY. MOST RECENTLY, THE REAR RIGHT TIRE HAD A SIDEWALL GASH AND HAD A FLAT TIRE, WE BEGAN SMELLING SMOKE AND ENDED UP TAKING THE JEEP INTO BRAKEMASTERS AND WAS TOLD THE ENTIRE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS FAILING AND FALLING APART. WE HAD THE REAR DIFF REPLACED, BRAKES, ROTORS AND PAID $5000 OUT OF POCKET AND AS I WAS DRIVING FROM HOME TO TUCSON THE OTHER DAY TO MY MATERNITY APPOINTMENT, THE BACK RIGHT TIRE BEGAN SCREECHING WHILE NOT BRAKING AND BEGAN SIZZLING AND BURNING WITH OIL COMING OUT FROM THE TIRE. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AT THE NEAREST BRAKEMASTERS AND THEY SAID THAT AN ENTIRELY NEW REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS NEEDED. NOT ONLY COULD THE JEEP HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE BUT I KEPT LOSING CONTROL OF THE STEERING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY WITH A 2 YEAR OLD AND ONE ON THE WAY. I AM HOPING TO SEE SOME SORT OF RESOLUTION ON THIS AND TO BE COMMUNICATED WITH OTHER JEEP OWNERS OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE.

My 2016 jeep wrangler, is having major issues. My seatbelts completely stopped working last week February 3, 2023. I had left the mechanics because I had the back window replaced, and the back hood of my jeep wrangler. When pulling out of their driveway, I realized my seatbelt was very tight, but I still got to hook it. When I got home from my drive one and a half hours away, I went to use my car and the seat belts would not work. Driver side and passenger side seat belts have completely seized. Has my jeep wrangler 2016 had any recalls. My son died December 10, 2019. I have never had any other problems with my jeep wrangler. I believe in jeep and the company who makes them. The body shop told me to get rid of my jeep. I cannot do that and since my son died in my jeep wrangler and drug dealers threw him in the back seat, letting him die after they stuck him with a needle full of fentanyl. Please help I do not want to part with my jeep wrangler. I am sure with the Vin number you will be able to trace anything that has gone on with my Jeep! I could have missed many recalls because my son was very sick, from 2016 until his death 2019. I purchased the car brand new in 2016 in upstate New York. Please tell me how I can get help so my seatbelt will work again and the airbag can be inspected. It must be a recall issue I can’t think of anything else and I need your help. I now live in Port Charlotte, Florida, and I am near my daughter. This jeep wrangler has been very good to us. It saved my son’s life and his girlfriends in that prior accident. Something is very wrong with the seatbelts and possibly the mechanisms attached to the seat, bag, and seatbelts. I’m not sure. But the jeep is a fantastic vehicle and I love it. My 2016 Jeep Wrangler with 53,000 miles on had the airbag light come on and when I went to have it checked it was due to a Occupant restraint control module malfunction. I was told this might not allow the airbags to deploy and that it could even deploy spontaneously. The vehicle was driven to a stop and the contact smelled rubber burning with a little bit of smoke. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic and was repaired. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the ABS module was sticking and needed to be replaced however, parts were on back order. The manufacture was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

2016 Jeep JKU 78,000 miles NOT driveable because front end wobbles and steering wheel vibrates. Increasing to 60 MPH stops the wobble. This happened to me twice and someone else driving my vehicle. Had new tires installed and front end aligned - thought it was fixed but then the problem became worse. I just got back home after a 20 mile drive and the shaking and wobbling was horrific. I did not feel safe in this vehicle. Upon returning home the right front wheel began smoking so I grabbed a fire extinguisher just in case. The right front wheel was extremely hot to the touch. After cooling off and no fire, I conducted a visual inspection of the right front brake caliper and noticed it had circular markings on caliper in 3 different areas. I am not going to drive this vehicle again until the dealership can fix it.

WHEN I CRANK MY VEHICLE AND PLACE IT IN DRIVE THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON AND THE BREAKING SYSTEM BEGINS TO LOCK DOWN THE BRAKES AND CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO JERK TO A STOP. THIS IS HAPPENING WHILE I AM ON THE PUBLIC ROADWAY. THE DOWNHILL BREAKING ENGAGES WHEN ALL OF THIS IS GOING ON. SOMETIMES IT WILL CLEAR ITSELF OFF AND THE VEHICLE OPERATES NORMALLY TILL THE NEXT DAY.

VEHICLE NOTIFIED IT HAD A FAULT IN THE ABS/ESC SYSTEM VIA THE YELLOW WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATING ON THE DASH. OCCURRED AFTER STARTING THE CAR AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT. VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY AT FIRST AND ASSUMED THIS INDICATED THE SYSTEMS HAD A FAULT AND WERE THUS DISABLED. HOWEVER, VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE POWER, STUMBLE, AND NOT ACCELERATE WHEN MOVING FROM DEAD STOP. INCLUDING STOP LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS, CROSSING DIVIDED HIGHWAYS AND INTERSECTIONS--TURNING AND STRAIGHT TRAVEL. PAVEMENT CONDITIONS WERE DRY/LEVEL, NO WHEEL SPIN OCCURRED. 3 OCCASIONS OVER 2 DAYS RESULTED IN NEAR ACCIDENTS. ONCE AFTER TURNING RIGHT FROM A STOP SIGN, ACCELERATING THROUGH FIRST GEAR AND REAR BRAKES BEGIN TO CYCLE WHILE POWER IS CUT FROM ENGINE. CAR BEHIND HAD TO SWERVE AROUND SO AS NOT TO COLLIDE. NO WARNING OR INDICATION THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN. NEXT EVENT WAS CROSSING 2 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY FROM CENTER TURN LANE. AGAIN SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED LOSS OF POWER AND BRAKING AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED TO REAR WHEELS. LESSER EVENTS HAVE OCCURRED AS WELL. VEHICLE THINKS IT NEEDS TO ENGAGE THE ESC SYSTEM. I ARGUE THAT THE ESC SYSTEM SHOULD GO INACTIVE WHEN A FAULT IS DETECTED, NOT CUT POWER AND AUTO APPLY BRAKES DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE UPDATED (QUALITY OF THE COMPONENTS NOT WITHSTANDING). THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AS THE CAR IS UN-DRIVEABLE, EVEN TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. MOREOVER, EVEN AFTER REPAIR THE FAULT STILL "LIVES" WITHIN THE CAR SHOULD IT HAVE A SIMILAR COMPONENT FAIL IN THE SYSTEM. CONTACTED DEALER TO ARRANGE REPAIR, VEHICLE HAS 40,600 MILES (NEVER OFF ROAD). DEALER STATED IT IS LIKELY A REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, COMMON FAILURE, NOT UNDER WARRANTY, AND CONFIRMED THAT THIS WAS COMMON BEHAVIOR FOR THIS TYPE FAILURE. CONTACTED FCA ON ISSUE AND LOGGED CASE, CLAIM THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS, COULD NOT EXPLAIN.

9/27/2019. 4:30PM. ACCELERATED NORMALLY ON CITY STREET FROM STOP LIGHT AND MADE LEFT TURN. AS I TURNED, ENGINE CHOKED AND STUMBLED AND VEHICLE HAD REDUCED POWER, SLOWING VEHICLE. TRACTION CONTROL DASH LIGHT CAME ON. CAR BEHIND ALMOST HIT ME. AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS, ENGINE RETURNED TO NORMAL AND VEHICLE PICKED UP SPEED. 10-15 SECONDS LATER SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN WITH TRACTION CONTROL AND ANTI LOCK BRAKE DASH LIGHTS COMING ON. ENGINE REDUCED POWER AND VEHICLE SLOWED AGAIN IN TRAFFIC. AFTER 10 SECONDS, ENGINE RETURNED TO NORMAL, DASH LIGHTS WENT OFF. VEHICLE HAS BEEN NORMAL SINCE THEN. WEATHER AT THE TIME: SUNNY, 85 DEGREES, DAYLIGHT. ROADS COMPLETELY DRY. VEHICLE DID NOT DRIVE THRU WATER, ETC. HAD BEEN DRIVING ON CITY STREETS 25-40 MPH FOR 20 MINUTES. CALLED DEALER. NO HELP ON PHONE. TOOK VEHICLE TO JEEP DEALER ON NOV 6, 2019 AND THEY FOUND CODE "C1043 PERFORMANCE" BUT SAID NOTHING MORE. TECH WRITE UP SAYS "LEFT REAR TONE WHEEL PERFORMANCE CODE HAS GONE STORED. NO CAUSE PRESENT. RESET CODE". ABOUT 35,800 MILES ON VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD OR MODIFIED IN ANY WAY. STOCK WRANGLER 4 DOOR SPORT.

THEY SAID THAT IT HAS PCM UPDATE AND THAT THEY PERFORMED THE PCM UPDATE AGAIN AND CLEARED CODES TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COME BACK. VEHICLE DRIVEN 30 MILES AND AND ONE LARGE BUMP IN THE ROAD AND THE LIGHTS TURNED ON AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS WHILE GOING DOWN DIRT ROADS. The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact recently replaced the windshield wiper motor due to a failure of the intermittent speed settings not functioning properly. The contact stated that after replacing the wiper motor, the contact was only able to use the wipers on the fast speed setting. An independent mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle was taken to the shop for repair, or he could replace the wiper blade switch on the steering column. The contact repaired the vehicle himself. The contact stated that after the repair was completed, while driving out of the driveway at approximately 2 MPH, the driver's side front air bag deployed. The contact followed the instructions to install the wiper blade switch carefully. The contact was still only able to use the wipers on the fast speed setting. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 132,552.

On September 2, 2025, while driving at 65 mph, I lost control of my vehicle three times. The traction control light came on each time, creating a serious safety risk to me and others. The issue appears to involve the airbag clockspring/steering column assembly, matching symptoms reported under Safety Recall 27B (RC-27B-24). My VIN is not currently included in the recall. Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram opened Case #94164354 and advised me to submit this so my VIN can be added. The part is available for inspection. My car is not drivable at this time due to the safety issue.

I was about to have an accident, I was going down an avenue and suddenly the wheels stopped and the car began to move from one side to the other and I lost stability of the steering wheel and the car, putting my life and the lives of my family (my girlfriend and my mother) at risk, luckily I did not cause an accident because there was no car in the side lane ... It is impossible to drive this car, the next day I took the car to a detailed inspection at a mechanical workshop specialized in Jeeps and indeed it has serious and serious problems with the car. The airbag light came on, then went off. This happened for a while, meanwhile, the horn stopped working and the controls in the steering wheel were incapable of anything for the radio. I was informed it was a bad steering clock spring and it needed to be replaced. Part # 5156106AG We searched for a recall, and there is one for the 2016 Jeep Wrangler for a failing steering clock spring, only my car’s vin number didn’t match the recall. It appears the previous owner had an issue with the airbags, that was subsequently repaired before I owned this vehicle. I believe it was repaired incorrectly, or is still faulty, as it is broken once again. The coincidence of this being recalled for the same make and model, but not for my specific vehicle is difficult to comprehend. What automobile has more than one need to repair airbags that were never deployed? I have not gotten it repaired yet because the dealer is charging greater than $900 for just the part. I found it online for less than $200.

ABS and traction control lights recently started coming on upon starting the vehicle. This morning, I took to repair shop and had brakes checked. I was told nothing was wrong, that brake pads look good, brake fluid level is good. When I returned home, I checked the NTHSA website to check for recalls on these modules. Saw another complaint regarding the exact same thing I am experiencing. That person stated that the dealership indicated that no fix is available as yet due to a supposed redesign of these components. So now what? I have no choice but to drive a vehicle that has ABS and traction control safety systems that are unavailable. While on the site, I also checked for recalls and found 5 recalls for which I was never notified, including air bag non-deployment. Great. I want to get rid of this vehicle, but alas, interest rates make it impossible.

My first issue is my windshield wiper fluid only works or comes out once every couple days. My 2nd issue is my TPM system has been blinking and does not show the pressure on very hot days. Both issues have been going on for over a year. 3rd issue is I can no longer use the AM/FM radio. 4th issue is my brakes went out due to a faulty rear passenger side brake hose in March. Over the past 2 weeks something has been wrong with using my brakes. Today I just found out both front brake hoses are defective. Due to these defective hoses, my rotors also need to be replaced. My automotive mechanic said this is very common. My car only has 54k miles on it. I feel like these issues should not be happening on a car that only has 54K miles on it. I feel like many children are in danger because of these hoses being defective. What if a parent has this happen and they are unable to stop on the interstate or anywhere really. I almost wrecked when my brakes went out in March, but luckily I was able to stop before hitting anything. The car behind me almost hit me as well. Can you please investigate these issues as soon as possible before anyone gets seriously hurt. Thank you.

The vehicle does not have over 45,000 miles on it...yet it would not crank.....when it finally cranked, within a few feet it completely shut down....the dealer stated that it was the TIPM. that needs to be replaced.....after reading the complaint comments on several sites...I wanted to know why this part has not been recalled to date. This repair is very costly to me, and during these hard economic times, this process has been extremely stressful. 2016 Jeep Wrangler intermittently misfires then immediately loses power and dies. Also loses power steering at the same time. It almost caused an accident and is a big safety concern. Now I drive in the right lane in case I have to hurry and pull off the side of road. I turn the key off, but then start it right back up and it drives fine. But then will happen again random. No dash board warning lights ever come on. Been to the dealer twice- 1st time they updated pcm software, this time they changed spark plugs and coil pack. This Jeep is a right hand drive wrangler. Airbag light, traction control light came on, and my horn quit working. Cruise control quit working, and then my antilock brake system was malfunctioning. I couldn't figure out why. So I went to both the Jeep dealership, and the local autozone where they scanned my Jeep for codes, and it's saying a bad clockspring. They said there is a known recall for 2016 models, but mine isn't included. They said to figure out why this Jeep is not included. . Why is my Jeep not included in the already known recall for the bad clock springs?

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that upon replacing the engine oil himself, he noticed that oil was leaking onto the transmission. The contact stated that there was no smell of oil burning or any smoke coming from the oil leak. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the oil filter housing was cracked. The dealer replaced the oil filter housing and repaired the vehicle; however, while the mechanic was test driving the vehicle, the vehicle caught on fire under the hood. There were no injuries sustained. The fire was extinguished with the assistance of the fire department. A fire department report was filed. There was no police report. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent an inspector who diagnosed that the fire started under the hood. The contact stated that he believed the fire started out as an electrical fire. The manufacturer advised the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under warranty; and that the repair would be at his own expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 65,700.

ON THURSDSY 5/13/2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:15-5:20PM, I WAS DROPPING MY DAUGHTER OFF TO WORK AND I GOT BACK ON THE ROAD THEN THROUGH THE U-TURN TO GET BACK ON THE OTHER SIDE. I PROCEEDED TO ENTER THE ROADWAY INITIALLY ABOUT 10MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE JEEP ACCELERATED TO ALMOST 80 MPH AND I SMASHED THE BRAKED AND IT WOULD NOT STOP AT ALL. THE RPM'S WERE STEADY GOING UP. I PULLED UP THE EMERGENCY BRAKE RIGHT BEFORE I ALMOST REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT THE LIGHT GETTING READY 6O GO THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. I WAS ON THE BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME. ONCE THE CAR FINALLY CAME TO A STOP, THE ENGINE WAS STILL REVED UP. I PUT IN PARK AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF WITH THE IGNITION. I THEN RESTARTED AND WAS SCARED THE REST OF THE WAY HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THERE WAS NOTHING UNDER THE BRAKE. MY FLOOR MATS WERE FLUSH AND FLAT AND THE ACCELERATION WAS SO SCARY. I FEARED FOR MY LIFE. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN THE NEXT MORNING, FRIDAY THE 14TH AT 10 AM BUT THAT THEU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO LOOK AT IT UNTIL 7-10 DAYS. I DID NOT BRING IT AS THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE. I WILL CALL BACK AND SPEAK WITH SOMEONE ELSE FOR RESULTS. THE TECH EVEN TOLD ME THAT THIS HAPPENED TO HIS BROTHER THAT ALSO HAVE A JEEP. MY WIFE HAS HAD HER GAS PEDAL STICK ON HER ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AND I HAVE HAD IT STICK ON ME ONCE (10-4-20). JEEP DEATH WOBBLE - WHILST TAKING MY SON TO SCHOOL I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, I STUCK A SMALL POTHOLE WITH MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. THE VEHICLE FRONT END BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AS THE STEERING WHEEL OSCILLATED ABOUT 6 INCHES BACK AND FORTH. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND NEARLY COLLIDED WITH CENTER MEDIAN AND VEHICLES TO MY RIGHT. SLOWING DOWN TO ABOUT 5 MPH CAUSED THE WOBBLE TO SUBSIDE. MY 2016 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON WAS ORDERED AND PURCHASED ON 8/18/2016 AND ORDERED STRAIGHT FROM THE CHRSYLER PLANT THROUGH LEITH JEEP DEALERSHIP IN RALEIGH, NC. WHILE TRANSPORTING MY DAUGHTER FROM A DR. APPOINTMENT THE JEEP CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE TRAVELING ON AVIATION PARKWAY IN RALEIGH, NC ON 9/8/2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 10:45AM. THE JEEP SUDDENLY HAD SMOKE COMING INTO THE MAIN CABIN FROM THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE UNDER THE GLOVE BOX AREA. I QUICKLY PULLED THE JEEP TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND REMOVED THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION HOPING THE SMOKE WOULD STOP. AS I TOOK THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE DASH WAS MELTING AT MY DAUGTHERS FEET AND FLAMES WERE COMING INTO THE CAR AND UNDER THE HOOD FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WE QUICKJLY EXITED THE JEEP AND CALLED 911. BY THE TIME WE GOT 10 FEET AWAY THE CAR BECAME ENGULPED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE OCCURRED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. WE KNOW THE FIRE STARTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AROUND THE MAIN WIRING UNIT DUE TO WHERE THE SMOKE STARTED. THE FIRE DEPT ALSO STATED THAT THE ORIGIN WAS NOTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE MORE SEVERE BURN PATTERN TO THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE JEEP COMPARED TO THE LEFT SIDE. OUR 2 WEEK OLD 2016 JEEP WRANGLER WILLYS WAS IN A SOLO COLLISION IN JULY 2016. MY PARTNER HIT WATER, HYDROPLANED, AND THEN HIT A GUARDRAIL WITH THE FRONT END AT 50+ MPH ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY. SHE WENT AIRBORNE, FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE SEATS CAME OUT AND ROLL BARS FAILED, BUT THE AIRBAGS ALSO NEVER WENT OFF DESPITE THE INITIAL IMPACT. WE DO NOT KNOW IF SHE WAS WEARING HER SEATBELT. SHE SUFFERED A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, COLLAPSED LUNG, SHATTERED PELVIS, BROKEN BACK, BROKEN HIP, BROKEN EYE SOCKET, COMPOUND FRACTURE OF HER ANKLE, BROKEN TAILBONE, MULTIPLE DEEP LACERATIONS AND WAS IN ICU FOR WEEKS. I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC JEEP RUBICON 2016 UNLIMITED. IT DIED DURING MOTION AFTER SHIFTING TO REVERSE FROM DRIVE. I WAS DOING A SHARP TURN WHERE I NEEDED TO GO BACK IMMEDIATELY AND JUST WHEN I SHIFT REVERSE (DURING PRESSING THE BRAKES LIKE NORMALLY EVERYBODY DOES) IT SHUT DOWN. THEN, I PUT IN PARK AND STARTED IT AGAIN AND IT DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THE REVERSE (IDLING BUT NOT MOVING). I HAD TO PUT IT OFF (AFTER SHIFTING TO PARK) AND START IT AGAIN. AT THE SECOND TIME IT RECOGNIZED REVERSE AND WORKED FINE FOR NOW. NO CODES DURING THE INCIDENT. MY CASE IS SIMILAR TO THE COMPLAINT: NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10850113.

MY JEEP WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW LESS THAN A MONTH AGO AND WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE OR PRESS THE BRAKES THERE'S A NOISE. ITS NOT THE SAME NOISE THAT THE CAR WOULD MAKE IF THE BRAKES WHERE BAD. I BROUGHT MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER THAT I GOT IT FROM AND THEY SAID ALL JEEPS DO THAT WHICH DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY 2016 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED GOING DOWN A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF ROAD AT 45MPH ON A SUNNY DAY. THE TRACTION CONTROL SUDDENLY KICKED ON AND APPLIED THE BRAKES ONLY ON ONE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO PULL ME INTO THE CAR IN THE NEXT LANE TO MY RIGHT. DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG.

2016 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED RHD. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND TRACTION WENT OFF. CHECK ENGINE WENT OFF LATER THAT DAY, BUT CAME BACK ON. TRACTION WAS INTERMITTENT, BUT WOULD TURN OFF WHEN RESTARTED. NEXT DAY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CAME ON AND TWICE WHILE MOVING THE ENGINE DIED. I LOST TOTAL CONTROL OF VEHICLE, BUT WAS GOING SLOW AT THE TIME. ONCE ON A CURVE AND THE OTHER TIME WHILE TURNING. SECOND TIME WAS TOWARD A DEEP DITCH, BUT STOPPED SHORT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. QUALITY MOTORS TRIED TO FIX ONCE. WILL TAKE BACK TOMORROW WHEN THEY COULD FIT IT IN.
