After pressing the start/stop button to start the vehicle, it immediately began making a loud and unusual noise. Recognizing that this was not a normal sound, I pressed the start/stop button again in an attempt to turn the vehicle off. However, the vehicle did not disengage and would not shut off as expected. The noise continued and became louder, and smoke began coming from the sides of the vehicle and from underneath. When the hood was opened, there was very thick white smoke coming from the engine compartment along with a strong burning smell. The smoke was too thick to determine whether there were any visible flames. After a short period of time, the engine finally disengaged on its own, but the smoke continued for a period of time after the vehicle shut off. The exact cause of the shutdown is unknown. We did not attempt to restart the vehicle. After the incident, there was visible melted plastic material and residue on the concrete beneath the vehicle, consistent with something overheating or melting in the engine compartment. The vehicle was not driven after this incident and was towed to the nearest dealership for inspection, where it remains pending further evaluation.

This vehicle has a serious recall (the car can start itself on fire) and there is no fix. The value of the car tanked, and nobody wants the vehicle. I dont feel safe in the vehicle, but I am stuck in it due to unfixable recall and dealerships being unwilling to trade for it.

A 2nd recall has been issued for the Hybrid Battery system and once again Jeep has no remedy available. My safety is at risk to due to the possibility of a car fire. I am also unable to use the car as intended due to safety concerns. Jeep needs to be held accountable for selling a very expensive vehicle that not only does not work properly but could catch on fire. It is unacceptable for owners to be left in limbo due to the negligence shown by Jeep. If they cannot sell a car that operates safely then they should be made to reimburse the owners.

Sudden loss of power. We experienced a sudden loss of engine power. The vehical is currently at a dealership for repairs. We have been informed this is a known issue and a service bulletin has been issued. We are shocked that we were not notified. We were on I75 and had the traffic not been light it is very possible we would not have been able to maneuver out of the way of other vehicals. This is not like a rattle or minor malfunction. The engine suddenly and without warning quit producing power. Adress this now before drivers are killed or injured.

The car lost all power while driving in traffic. Speed was ~30mph and at coming up to an intersection the car was acting erratically and the dash indicator lights all lit up. I went to slow down and move out of traffic and the car lost all engine power and electrical power. I could not restart the vehicle.

2 incidents of loss of power with the electric motor at high speed. The hybrid electric motor unexpectedly lost power at 75 mph on the highway, alongside other vehicles moving at the same speed. This sudden loss of power caused the vehicle to drop to 55 mph, and not go above that speed, risking a potential collision from behind. Driving at 55 mph on Texas highways with a speed limit of 75 mph is very dangerous. The second time was exactly like the first but at 60mph. It has not been able to be reproduced. it has been inspected several time by the dealership. There was no warning of any kind.

In the last twelve months, the vehicle has been serviced six times for ongoing issues related to the hybrid system, yet the problems persist. Despite multiple visits to the dealership, the defect remains unresolved. My 2023 Jeep Wrangler has an active hybrid battery recall (68C), which according to NHTSA is an extension of the earlier 95B recall involving risk of fire related to the hybrid battery. Recall 95B was marked “resolved” after my hybrid battery was replaced on 11/20/2025, yet I now have another recall for the same safety-related issue. This indicates that the original defect was not properly resolved and suggests ongoing hybrid system safety risks. The recall repair for 68C is still listed as “no parts available,” leaving me unable to have this safety defect corrected. During this period, the vehicle has stalled, lost power, and displayed repeated warning lights associated with hybrid system failure and recall-related issues. These events have occurred while driving and present a serious safety concern. I have opened a case with Stellantis and have documentation of all service visits and all communication with the manufacturer. Stellantis denied my buyback request without providing written reasons and closed my case. They offered a small discount on a new vehicle that would require rolling over nearly $20,000 in negative equity, which does not resolve the underlying safety defect. They also offered two vague extended warranty options but refused to provide written details, and these do not correct the defect or address the safety risk. I do not feel safe driving the vehicle. I fear the possibility of injury due to the unresolved hybrid system defect, stalling incidents, and the ongoing fire-related recall with no available remedy. Stellantis has failed to correct the defect and has not provided an adequate or safe solution. Requesting assistance as this is an active safety issue involving repeated hybrid system failures and a recall with no remedy.

I was driving my 2023 wrangler 4xe to work one Saturday morning. No weather conditions, no change of habit in my drive, and normal driving conditions in general. Half way there I felt a weird change and slight jerk while on the highway. After I noticed a light come on. I was unable to stop so I continued and monitored my gauges. All seemed normal except it kicked into gas only mode I noticed. Once I made it to my first red light it braked funny/differently. Once the light was green I accelerated but it was delayed and felt clunky. It almost jolted a little in order to go. I was five minutes from work so I continued on slowly. Once I made it to work I had to turn left through a double lane. Once clear I accelerated to turn into my lot. The jeep stayed lit but completely lost power and actually stopped in the middle of oncoming traffic. Thankfully one car slowed but the other planned to keep going. I panicked hitting the gas a few times until it finally jolted me up into the parking lot. Once I parked it I turned it off to breath and calm down. My child could have been in there. Had I not moved someone could have hit me and blamed me for the accident. After I parked it and turned it off it would not turn back on and shift again. But once I got a tow truck there to take to the dealer he was able to to turn it on. So I’m unsure how that’s safe either.

This is my daily vehicle. The fact that there is an active fire safety recall with no remedy is absolutely horrible. Per my VIN this has been the third safety recall on same issue in two years. Please make jeep fix this problem or buy these cars back to get them off the roads. Thank you!

I was driving and all the lights on the cluster came on, with an instruction to slowly pull over place the vehicle in park and restart the vehicle. Apparently the vehicle dead while I was driving it. At the same time I received a message from the vehicle app saying unable to charge vehicle. Strange because I was driving the vehicle at that time and not attempting to charge it.

Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Mileage: Approx. 67,000 Case Number with Jeep/Stellantis: 94808242 I am reporting a recurring and dangerous “death wobble” safety defect in my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I have experienced more than 30 separate incidents of violent front-end shaking while driving, often at highway speeds. The wobble happens suddenly without warning and causes the vehicle to become difficult to control, creating a serious risk of losing control, swerving into other lanes, or causing a crash. I have three children who regularly ride in this vehicle, and these episodes have occurred while they were present. The problem has occurred under multiple road and weather conditions. I have attempted repairs including new tires and new shocks, and the issue still persists. The vehicle has been evaluated by Jeep dealership service departments and the problem has not been resolved. I have documented each event with video recordings and logs including date, time, speed, tire pressure, and temperature. The manufacturer has opened Case #94808242, but the defect remains unresolved. This is an ongoing safety hazard and the vehicle is unsafe to operate. I am requesting an investigation and formal record of this recurring safety defect.
Nov 22, 2025
Dear NHTSA, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue involving my 2023 Jeep Wrangler. Recently, I experienced what is widely known as the “death wobble,” a violent and uncontrollable shaking of the steering wheel and front end while driving. This incident nearly caused me to lose control of the vehicle and crash, creating an extremely dangerous situation for myself and others on the road. The “death wobble” is caused by defective or worn suspension and steering components, including track bar bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and other parts. The experience was terrifying, and I had to carefully slow down and pull over to regain control of the vehicle. I am aware that a nationwide class-action lawsuit settlement was approved in June 2023 for Jeep Wrangler models (2018–2020) and Jeep Gladiator models (2020) for this exact issue. The settlement provided extended warranties, potential coverage for suspension components, and reimbursements for repairs. While my vehicle is a 2023 model, I am concerned that this ongoing safety defect persists in newer models as well, which suggests that Jeep has not adequately addressed the problem. My vehicle is currently at a dealership, and I have been informed that I am responsible for covering the cost of repairs despite this being a known and dangerous defect. I strongly believe this is an unfair burden on consumers and poses a continuing public safety risk. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this matter, evaluate whether 2023 Jeep Wrangler models should be included in recalls or settlements, and take steps to hold Jeep accountable. I also request guidance on what recourse I may have as a consumer who has experienced this safety issue firsthand. Thank you for your time and commitment to road safety. I am happy to provide additional information, documentation, or repair records as needed.

At highway speeds,60+ the jeep starts an extreme wobbling and shaking when I hit a bump. Sometimes I can slow down and it stops and other times I have to pull Over and come to a complete stop. I just bought this jeep less than two weeks ago and it’s now in service getting a new steering damper. Everything I’m reading online says this is just a Bandaid. My husband knows about Cars and he said this will only absorb the shaking until it wears out and then it will start again. I was told it was their third jeep today with a death wobble. They sold the jeep to me with this issue and now I have to pay a warranty deductible 10 days after purchase to get it fixed. It only has 33,000 miles on it. It’s hard to control the steering at 70 mph when the entire front end starts violently shaking.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle started shaking violently and the vehicle was difficult to steer. The contact was able to bring the vehicle to a stop. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle had experienced the death wobble. The dealer removed the steering damper and completed the purge process and checked the torque of the lug nuts, and the tire pressure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Coastal Jeep Ram of Quincy (1724 W Jefferson St, Quincy, FL 32351); where it was diagnosed with the death wobble and found the star online publication case [XXX] for shimmy in front and confirmed that the failure was due to the steering damper and star online purge steering damper and performed a multipoint inspection. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Tallahassee Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Fiat, where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced, and a multipoint inspection was performed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer. No additional assistance was not provided. The failure mileage was approximately 13,510. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

We have been experiencing a bouncing and shaking in the front end of our vehicle while driving at highway speeds. This happens when hitting the slightest bump or transitions from pavement to concrete. Last week while driving on the highway the shaking and bouncing was so violent that I can't believe I didn't lose control. I brought the vehicle to the dealer and for the second time they replaced more suspension items in the front end. After doing some research I found out that this has been a problem with these vehicles for quite some time and that it's known as the "Death Wobble". After what I experienced I can understand why. I called Jeep and spoke to multiple people in different departments and as they acknowledge the problem they don't seem to care how unsafe the issue is. I can't believe there haven't been any deaths related to this and I'm hoping you might investigate these issues further before that happens.

The vehicle violently shakes after hitting minor bumps on the road. The steering wheel shakes not allowing you to have control of the vehicle. The vehicle can hit another vehicle or roll over due to this defect. This is a serious issue linked to poor quality parts and craftsmanship from the manufacturer. This can cause serious injury or death if not fixed immediately. This also causes the alignment to go out and pre-mature wear and tear on the tires. Mark my words someone will die from this failure.

At 40 mph and above and without warning, the front end of the vehicle will begin to bounce and shake from side to side causing the steering wheel to also shake, thus making it difficult for the driver to safely steer the vehicle. Once speed is reduced the shaking stops and normal control is regained. This issue has occurred multiple times and lasts anywhere from a few seconds to over a minute.

Last week the cat went in for the open recalls. However the electrical and propulsion problems are still going on so I think it’s more than software. The car jerks and come close to stalling almost like a standard transmission with the clutch not catching properly. Additionally, and this is separate and does not occur with the problem described above. The dashboard lights randomly go off. It has no correlation to anything just randomly shut off then come back on.

On October 25th, 2025 my husband and I were driving home on the freeway. All of a sudden, without any warning notice or check engine light, my hybrid 2023 Jeep caught on fire as we were in it driving down the freeway. The fire started under the hood and under us. Flames were coming up the sides of the Jeep as we drove and were getting bigger then coming in the vents and under the hood. My husband pulled the Jeep over to the shoulder and we quickly got out and away from the Jeep and called 911 for help. Cars were still driving down the freeway as the Jeep was engulfed in flames. Our safety was put at high risk since we were driving on the freeway at highway speeds and the Jeep caught on fire without any warning and my husband and I were sitting inside the Jeep traveling while it was actively on fire and getting worse. We were located right by the fire as we were driving. It was under us, in front of us and growing around us. Others were put at risk because there was a large fire on the side of the freeway as other vehicles were driving by. A semi truck almost hit the median in the freeway when it probably noticed what was going on. Further, vehicles were driving in the right hand lane right beside the active fire. My Jeep was sparking, throwing flames and some things exploded. Jeep hybrids have had problems and my Jeep has had many recalls and problems. Stellantis was involved with the last few dealership service visits. The Jeep was not charging so a new charging system was put in it at the dealership. The Jeep had a red turtle come on as I was driving and it drastically slowed my speed down suddenly. I pulled over and then my Jeep turned off and would not start again for hours. The dealership, with Stellantis involved, put in a new rechargeable battery. These were some of the things done recently prior to my Jeep catching on fire en route in addition to many recalls/updates. There were no warning signs at all prior to his Jeep fire.

I have a hybrid jeep 4xe, 2023. Allegedly unaffected by the software issue over the weekend that caused countless issues for 2024 and 2025 jeeps. My 2023 jeep wrangler 4xe stopped suddenly while driving. Unfortunately, I panicked in the moment, so I do not remember if it completely powered off or if it just lost propulsion, but it stopped. I had to turn the car off and then back on to get it to go the next day. My check engine light came on for about 24 hours and went off again.

2023 vehicle no problems until 95B safety recall was performed. Warning light low air next day. Two wks after recall serv. and less than 4-6 months after reg. Maint. & oil change the check engine light came on upon start. Checked and the black coolant reservoir the caps dip stick was void of fluid I was told. Called dealer to advise. Visited dealership the head mechanic dx that the gas cap seal is bad.the check engine light off and not the low to empty coolant. Complaint is the warning light panel. The electrical wires exposed hanging broken small panel on the passengers side of the rearview mirror. Noticed after pickup from dealership. This was addressed with service depart. These panel, coolant, panel broke handing wires, gas cap seal are all issues after recall services. I believe it is unlikely just electrical issues that occurred when it was recently in for the battery recall requiring overnight parking. It was left overnight as they needed to know if it would catch fire. I was not informed if it was necessary as I’ve read to test drive it on electric before it was returned to me. The advisor was in days off happened to be in and was pleasant but I felt rushed. I was given the paper to sign and just told all is well, period. Broken panel part with electrical wires hanging out of rearview mirror. Gas cap seal that is now faulty setting of warning check engine light but not the LOW coolant? No explanation for damaged panel part and reason for messing with the wires. Concerns are engine, electrical and panel failure. Engine should not have issue with coolant. It never should’ve gotten to that point. The fact that there was low to no coolant as the dip stick didn’t register any. It’s a solid black reservoir not able to visibly check for coolant.I find it’s a safety issue, a mechanical issue. The head mechanic is saying that we would’ve never known about coolant needed had it not been for the only 2 yr old gas cap that leaves engine warning light on.

The safety of this vehicle is a ticking time bomb. We are instructed not to park in or near a structure, near other vehicles, or charge it. Even if I don’t not charge it how am I supposed to park at my own home? How am I supposed to park at work? You are putting several lives at risk not to mention others vehicles, houses, businesses. I do search and rescue and have my k9 with me pretty much at all times. I am told it can ignite at anytime but it’s ok to leave my dog in? Where is the safety and concern over my highly trained k9 let alone family pet. I will never feel safe with this car again. I asked if they even replaced the battery if they could tell me it wouldn’t happen with the new battery and I could park back in my garage and they said no they couldn’t say it wouldn’t happen again.

Sway bar light is flashing - Research says that it could be unsafe to drive- took it in for repair today 9/10/25 - vehicle under warranty until December. Vehicle repaired "for now" was advised to have checked on next oil change verbally. At this time the vehicle will be out of warranty. (3 years - only has 23680 mile currently) but warranty ends at this point. Why should i be responsible for an issue after this when they know there is a problem? Should this defect be a recall? From what i read on the internet this is very common. My vehicle has never been off road and looks like brand new and has not experienced driving through large amounts of water/rain. Were in a drought.

Recall 19a Jeep released a vehicle with a defective clutch assembly that required full replacement. Unfortunately, they "applied a software fix to a hardware problem". This still hasn’t solved things and is still very concerning. This fix is completely unacceptable. I have a 2023 Jeep with only 16k miles. The only acceptable solution would be a buy back. Someone needs to get involved. There are people with completely useless vehicles now.

When cold, the vehicle will shift hard and/or delay shifting both causing the vehicle to jerk or lunge forward. This happens between 3 & 4 gear. One dealer was not able to recreate the issue and another was able to. No repairs were made as Stellantis stated because there are no service lights on they are no mechanical issues. The problem continues to get worse. This appears to be a common problem.

My vehicle is currently under 95B recall from Jeep. I have spent more than 8 hours on hold, on the phone, via email, attempting a resolution as my Jeep is unable to be parked away from other vehicles or structures as I reside in a residential neighborhood, or away from structures at work, as I work at an elementary school with limited parking options. Jeep is completely aware of the situation and unwilling to provide a loaner vehicle as there are "not any available" at this time. With over 150,000 vehicles recalled, all vehicles at ANY Jeep dealer should be being offered as loaner vehicles at this time, as there is no fix for this situation in sight. My vehicle is at risk for bursting into flames at any moment. I cannot drive it using electricity which is why it was purchased. The vehicle is an ongoing threat to myself, my place of work, and my community, Jeep is aware, and they are not doing anything to resolve the issue. My Jeep only has 13,000 miles on it and is still under warranty. I have requested a buy back option as Jeep is unable to provide a safe location to store my vehicle or an alternative vehicle to drive, however have not heard back from their customer service team. I have emails, calls, and a contact log of all correspondence. The lack of customer service and solutions being offered to customers should be considered criminal as the risk of not just my 4xe, but all those under recall, are an immediate threat to the lives of others.

While driving on [XXX] to upstate NY in heavy traffic on [XXX], my Jeep Wrangler 4xe lost power and showed the error message "Put vehicle in Park and shift gear" while at highway speed. I had no ability to accelerate but steering was still enabled and allowed me to pull over to the side of the road to investigate. Fortunately I was being followed by another member of my family and they provided a bit of a roadblock to allow us to navigate the traffic. At the time power was lost, the console had several warning lights including the check engine light, multiple battery system lights and others. After shutting the Jeep off, it started up again normally as if nothing had happened. I called the dealer who basically said they couldn't reproduce the issue but it had happened to others and clears on its own. This has now happened multiple times. The first time this happened, i was driving on the freeway and my car had started flashing lights telling me my electrical charging system was faulty. When this flashed, my "D" (for drive) on my dashboard started blinking and the car lost power. I was in the fast lane with no shoulder and had to pull 5 lanes over, nearly hitting an unquantifiable amount of cars. When the car reached roughly 15-10 miles per hour as I was merging, it put itself into park and would not let me shift back into gear. At this point I was still in the number 2 lane and had cars swerve around me. I tried turning on the car multiple times and finally after the fifth or sixth time, it turned on and drove to the shoulder. The dealership was unable to replicate the issue but had heard of the problem before. They said that they would try to diagnose the issue but they could not. The other times that it had happened, I had a very similar experience. Some situations safer than others. When i took it in again, they were unable to fix it. I've now given up because Jeep is unable to fix the issue.

On July 15th , July 30th and August 11th 2024 the gas pedal on my less than 2 month old Jeep Wrangler 4xE did respond / engage while driving and pressing on the pedal. It felt like the car was dying. This happened at three different speeds, 65mph on the highway, 30mph on a side road and around 40mph on a state road. In addition to the gas pedal not working/ vehicle not moving forward the vehicle also seemed to slow it self down, like i was breaking however i was not and as the vehicle slowed down it was shaking vigorously all 3 times. This is incredibly dangerous and unsafe. I contacted over 20 jeep dealerships and jeep corporate before I was able to get an appointment - this vehicle was looked at by a dealership and I have been told they 'have no codes' and 'everything is fine' In addition to the loss of power, gas failure, non responsive gas pedal I have counted over 10 incidences where this vehicle has a delay in acceleration of 3 - 8 seconds before lurching and jerking forward at various speeds, some of the times vehicle has also shaked other times the jerking is so severe if feels like you've been rear ended. Jeep is not taking these concerns seriously, I am reporting in hopes that you will and maybe others have reported similar issues and we can get some answers and repairs figured out as this car is unsafe and I do not want me or my children to be a statistic of a horrible accident that should have been a recall / fix issued by jeep.

Purchased 8/5/2024. Driving 45mph on 8/9/2024 -all warning lights began going on and off then Jeep just stopped leaving the D flashing and the message to press brake and push to start. Took a few moments to get it into Park. Restarted and took to dealer. They charged all batteries and returned 4 days later. 2 days later, Next incident, 25 mph shut down, almost hit from behind and had to deal with irate driver. Resumed after getting into park and switched to gas mode to drive to dealership. Picked up 6 days later and told no codes so no problem. 3 more incidents, remains at dealership service since 8/26/24.

While driving in all electric mode, car abruptly lost power and would not accelerate. After power loss, car lunged forward abruptly without noticeable cause. I worried I had been hit from behind and quickly checked the rearview mirror, but nothing had impacted the back of my Jeep. “D” symbol for “drive” on the shifter was flashing. Not sure what was happening on the instrument panel. I hurried and shut off the ignition and then restarted it and the vehicle started up again without issue. Jeep is currently at the dealer for inspection. There were no prior indications or warning lights on in the vehicle when this occurred. It could have been much more dangerous should I have been moving at a faster speed on the highway. I was fortunately moving in thick morning traffic and not on a highway when the loss of power occurred.

SUSPENSION

Complaint Summary: Severe, dangerous steering oscillation (“death wobble”) while driving at highway speeds. Violent shaking after hitting a bump on Highway 94 in Minneapolis caused near loss of control. Forced to pull off the road to avoid an accident. Defect recurred continuously, requiring speeds of 25–55 mph for an 800-mile trip to Canada and the entire return trip. This is a known defect documented in EA18-002 and multiple class actions. Description: I was driving my 2023 Jeep Wrangler (VIN [XXX] ) eastbound on Highway 94 in Minneapolis when the front suspension began shaking violently after hitting a bump. The oscillation was so extreme that I thought the vehicle would veer out of control. I had to pull off the road immediately. The shaking recurred with every bump and forced us to drive extremely slow for the remainder of our trip (25–55 mph for over 800 miles each way). This created a major safety hazard during our long-distance travel. After returning home, I drove 90 miles to Billion Jeep in Sioux Falls, where a certified Jeep mechanic diagnosed it instantly as the “death wobble” and stated it was a known recurring defect. I had to pay for repairs out of pocket. Despite the severity of this defect, Chrysler Capital still demanded a $395 disposition fee even though the vehicle was unsafe. I paid it under protest to avoid credit repercussions. Jeep has known of this defect for years (EA18-002, TSBs, class action Flynn v. FCA US LLC), yet it continues in 2023 models. This is a major safety concern and could cause loss of control at highway speeds. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My Jeep has 43,213 miles and my mechanic who I have used for over 30 years showed me that all 4 shocks are severely leaking and need replacing. I’m am 69 and only use this Jeep on the highway and zero off roading. This is most unusual for all 4 shocks to need replacing at such low miles

While on a trip from Texas to Arizona on the interstate highway system I was passing a semi-truck and my front wheels and steering wheel experienced a very violent vibration. The vibration would not stop until I slowed from 75 mph to approximately 35 mph. VERY dangerous at that speed, while passing, and moderate traffic. This happened to me again in South Texas where I live on a state highway where I was shifting into third gear accelerating through about 50 mph with the exact same vibration until I slowed below 30 mph. We also have the same year 2023 Jeep Gladiator and we experienced the exact same issue after hitting a small bump traveling at approximately 70 mph. Since then I have looked into the issue on the internet and it is abuzz with Jeep owners and claims of a "death wobble" in the steering system. It appears there was a previous lawsuit in which the manufacturer was not found at fault but this problem persists based on the internet traffic I've seen and the number of products being offered, by after market companies, to correct this issue. I can enter the Gladiator VIN and another report if that helps. Please advise...

At speeds between 55-65 MPH, inconsistently the car will shake so violently I have to nearly stop the car to make cease shaking. The vehicle shakes so badly other drivers slow down to avoid being around. It feels as though it’s going to fall apart. I’ve taken the car 4 times now for repair and the dealership has had the car for 32 consecutive days with no solution.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH and driving over a bump in the road, the steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. The vehicle had experienced a death wobble. The contact decelerated and regained control of the vehicle, and the shaking of the steering wheel ceased. The contact stated that the failure occurred at 50 MPH or speeds exceeding 50 MPH. There were no warning lights illuminated. The failure became a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front axle and front-end failure were caused by a defective steering damper. The dealer expressed that there was no remedy for the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

Recall for electric battery packs in the electric Wrangler Manufacture requires that we don't park the vehicle in our garage and we don't charge or use the electric battery This pretty much makes my vehicle unusable as I drive the electric motor and my only free parking space is inside my garage

The vehicle has been under recall since September 2024. They have been unable to repair it. I requested a refund or replacement since it has been nearly a year now without repair. The company offered me $9,000 and $9,000 to the lawyer I had contact them. This is not acceptable since they cannot repair the vehicle they need to refund my money or give me a new car.

There is a problem with my electrical system. I have brought it in to jeep several times, and they have brushed it off. In July 2024 I was driving and the car shut off in the middle of traffic. I was able to come to a stop in a turning lane, but it was a dangerous, scary situation. When I took it to the dealership, they said they could not replicate it and sent me on my way. In March 2024 I was stranded at night at a dog park when my car wouldn't start. There was a message stating that the electrical system needed to be serviced. I had it towed to the dealership and they said it was just the engine battery and an issue with a sensor that was put in upside down. In October 2024 I received a notice not to charge my battery or park it in or near buildings. There was no fix. Then, they had software update that was supposed to fix internal problems with the batteries. I asked for a new battery without the issues, and they said no. The scariest, and biggest problem I'm having, though, is that intermittently I lose power when trying to accelerate into traffic. This has led to many scary incidents of other drivers nearly hitting me and being very upset. The most recent incident was on Wednesday, February 12. I was driving on highway 12 in the morning on my way to work and a car pulled in front of me. To avoid a collision, I swerved to the left lane and tried to accelerate to get out of the way of the car behind me and my car would not accelerate. I had to take my foot off the gas, then push again to get it to go. It was terrifying and dangerous. The car behind me nearly hit me, and they honked and were very upset. This situation happens probably once or twice a month. I had my car in the shop to address these issues and I had a rental car and Jeep said they would work with the dealer to repair. They never did. Never called me back, and now they are refusing my rental reimbursement. I don't have anymore money to pay for another so I'm stuck

Starting in late February 2024, my new vehicle has had numerous major oil leaks which have not been able to be repaired successfully. Oil has leaked out and pooled on the drivers side of the transmission bell house. Given the oil leaks proximity to the heat from the turbo charger down pipe, exhaust pipe, and various other ignition sources, the vehicle is at an elevated risk for catching on fire. This could result in a accident or serious bodily injury up to death of myself or others. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. Given the volume of oil leaking from the undercarriage of the vehicle, the vehicle is at an elevated risk for engine seizure from lack of lubrication. This could result in the engine stalling causing an accident or serious bodily injury up to death of myself or others. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. The vehicle has been repaired three separate times by the dealership, no warning lights ever appeared.

I understand this is an ongoing recall, but will the NHTSA get involved to help push for a resolution? I have not had a vehicle since March and according to Jeep, the "fix" is still in an engineering and design phase which could take months/years. There was a class action lawsuit and Jeep asked to have the lawsuit dropped if they did a voluntary recall. Well, now it feels like since they are not under a lawsuit, they can take their time with the recall. Who can help push Jeep into getting this thing done? Thank you.

Yesterday 8/27/23 at 5pm I pulled into a parking lot and then into a parking space. As I came to a stop my Jeep lunged forward into the vehicle that was parked in front of me. At the time my Jeep Wrangler 4XE was operating in Hibrid mode running on electric with 49% charge left. As my Jeep came to a stop the gasoline engine started and the Jeep lunged forward striking the vehicle in front of me pushing it approximately 3 feet back before coming to a stop. This action caused significant damage to the other vehicle and minor damage to my jeep. I believe it was the abrupt start of the gasoline engine that caused the jeep to lunge forward even though my foot was on the brake. This action put me and others at risk, it was fortunate that the othe vehicle was unoccupied. I have contacted Jeep thru online email concerning this accident but at this time have not received a response. The police department was contacted and an officer responded to the scene. The officer observed the damage to both vehicles and did file an accident report. There were no warning lamps, warnings, or other symptoms of a problem prior to this incident.

Crash: 1
I'll start by stating that I currently have two Jeep Wrangler JL models that are identical, a 2020 and the one that I'm contacting you about the 2023. There is a safety issue with the 2023 where the vehicle programming causes the engine to rev itself to around 2,800 RPM's upon a cold start. This is after the engine has warmed up to operating temperature at idle. So the safety complaint is that as I begin to drive the vehicle in a parking lot with pedestrians in it, the vehicle will auto rev while in gear causing excessive and unsafe speeds in that situation. My identical 2020 Jeep Wrangler does not and never has done this. I strongly suspect that this is an emissions compliance programming issue with the software to heat up the catalytic convertor. Whatever their reasoning for doing this it's still an unsafe vehicle feature, one that multiple other owners have stated that they are having the same issue. I have reached out to FCA to no avail, case# 86685993. I do look forward to hearing from you and hope that with your assistance we can get this safety issue figured out. Thank you!

On 11/7/25 I brought my Jeep Wrangler 4xe for the two active recalls and an oil change. The battery recall could not be done. The motive power was supposedly fixed. Since then there has been a new problem. The Jeep gets to the point of stall (like the motive power issue) however right before the stall it surges. This really caught me off guard the first few times and I barely avoided three accidents. Now I know when it feels like it is going to stall to be prepared to slam on the breaks. However this is not really a good situation they really need to do a full recall to fix this thing. I noticed you gave an open investigation and I think it is a separate issue from the loss of motive power issue and I think the fix for the motive power problem has exacerbated this problem of lurching/surging that I have told my dealer about no fewer than three times. The most recent almost stall and surge happened this morning as I was merging into a rotary and again because of that surge I almost lost control of the vehicle.

Jeep 4XE loss of motive power. Was driving and warning came on to Service Charging System and lost all power while driving on freeway. Had to coast to a safe place to pull over. Screen told me to put vehicle in park. Put it in park, turned engine off, then turned it back on and it drove fine. Posted to Jeep 4XE group as this issue seems fairly common on there and they mentioned that you guys are looking into this issue and called it loss of motive power.

When driving the jeep and the engine light comes on (this light comes on and off repeatedly but is mostly on). When the light is on you will have major issues when trying to accelerate regardless of the speed. if you push the gas to full acceleration the speed will drop down from 3-5 mph or completely drop to zero. If you leave your foot on the gas it will take 15-30 seconds for the engine to engage and provide power. It feels like its trying to look to the battery EV motor for power even though the battery is dead. in same cases the engine does not restart at all and i have had to pull over to the hard shoulder to pull off of live traffic. I have several videos showing the issue. i have been to the deal 4 times to have this reviewed and they keep telling me they can't find an issue regardless of the videos i have provided. at this time Jeep has taken my Vehicle and gave me a long term rental as they look into this issue more. My Videos are on my cell phone and i can't get them uploaded. I think i could compress the videos and e-mail them.

I was driving on the highway and as the electric engine ran out of power (it is a plug-in hybrid), the car failed to switch to the gasoline engine. There were warning lights that flashed and the "D" on the gear shifter was flashing. Power steering still worked, but could not accelerate. I was in the far right lane and was able to coast into the breakdown lane where I turned the car off, waited a few second and turned it back on and it was running on the gas engine. I took it to the dealer the next day and they said they tried to recreate it, but the electric engine had not been drained, so I don't believe they had.

Jeep and Dealers are failing to complete safety Recall NHTSA Recall Number24V-720. My vehicle was dropped off at the dealership ( Repair orders attached ) on Dec 11 for the recall . Jeep has launched the recall process which is a software update and a specific drive cycle. I have reasons to believe that the dealership did not properly followed the steps after the software updates. I have GPS logs to show. I had contacted Jeep support about that and I did not receive any positive help on this. Vehicle was sent out again on Jan 6th, but still I have no confidence that the steps were followed properly. Internet is flooded with how Jeep has poorly managed the recall process by over complicating the drive cycle and how dealers are negligent about the process. This is a safety recall and could cause fire/explosion and take lives. I strongly advise NHTSA to intervene and make JEEP/Dealers liable to ensure the process is followed.

Recall 95B. I have been given the runaround for months on the status of this recall from the FCA recall center and Jeep. I purchased a hybrid Jeep 4xE with the main purpose of being able to run both electric and gas. However, jeep is telling me not to charge the vehicle, do not park it in the garage, and to make sure that it’s not parked near any structures because of explosion/fire hazard! This is completely unacceptable to not have a resolution for such a major concern in a timely manner.

I received a recall notice on my Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe that the vehicle could suddenly shut down while in motion and needed a repair to prevent this from happening. I took it into the dealer to get the repair. At this point the vehicle had about 1200 miles on it. About a week AFTER getting the recall repair, the vehicle shut down without warning while I was driving it in all electric mode. I had to pull off the road, coast to a stop, and restart. I took it back to the dealer and they said that they had never heard of this happening AFTER getting the recall fixed. They said they didn’t know what to do to address it and would be reporting it to Jeep/Stellantis HQ in Detroit. The dealer is Jeff D’Ambrosio in Downingtown, PA. They said they would be back in touch once they heard from Detroit. This is extremely concerning and should be investigated.

On Friday, [XXX] I was driving my jeep to work in the early morning hours. I was about ½ mile from getting on the highway when my jeep completely shut down. Everything inside of my jeep went black and I was completely horrified. I managed to get the jeep started and was able to drive to work. When I got to work I immediately called Ourisman Jeep in Bowie Maryland and explained the problem to them. I brought the jeep in on Monday, October 7th and my Jeep has been there since then. After Ourisman having the jeep for two weeks, I was informed that my Jeep was part of a newly released recall involving electric jeeps with no projected resolution date. I no longer feel safe driving my Jeep and I have asked for a “swap” of sorts. I have requested another vehicle that is exactly the same as my current vehicle just NOT ELECTRIC. I was been advised that my request needed to be escalated but after many many conversations there is still no resolution to my request. I am absolutely disappointed with the way this situation has been handled. I cannot help but think of the deadly repercussions had I been on the highway when this incident occurred. I did not ask for this inconvenience that is totally exhausted me financially and emotionally. I am driving a rental car that I am paying for wit the understanding of reimbursement once I return the vehicle. This issue is not one that I created but rather a failing on the corporation to provide a swift and satisfying resolution. While I’m sure this may cause Jeep to lose significant revenue, I find it completely disgusting that they would put corporate dollars before the safety of its owners. As of today 11/22/26 I have no resolution, no car and paying close to $400.00 per week for a rental car! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Open 95B recall. High voltage battery safety issue, can cause fire. Advised not to charge, not to park indoors, and away from structures. There is no root cause, no parts, no firm timeline and I the manufacturer has been unresponsive. Initial contact was 10/31, and I have not yet received any follow-up from them (though I have contacted them proactively 3+ times). This is a leased vehicle with 13K miles and the dealer is not helpful, the manufacturer is not helpful, and quite frankly this level of concern is unnerving, and escalated in terms of anxiety and fear for what 'could or might happen'. To top it off not only do we have one of these vehicles, but two of them, both impacted.

UNKNOWN. Jeep’s dashboard and the indicator by shift (Park) illuminates randomly while parked and drains the battery. After the latest event battery voltage tested to 4.4V. Jeep won’t even make a click sound when trying to start. This happened first week of new car delivery and three more times within past eight months. I spoke to the sales agent after first event and he said it will be noted. Second time dealer service replaces both main and auxiliary battery. A month later dealer service just recharged both batteries for the same issue. Now the jeep is having same issue and taken to the dealership for service. Engine light also came on after the latest event. The jeep is still at the service center for last 13 days. They informed me that both batteries are replaced and the error codes for engine light are P1AE2 and P1E75. I’m not aware of any other attempts to find the cause of the issue.

Violent shaking of the front end (wheels/tires and steering wheel) after hitting a bump in the road. The “death wobble” occurred twice since I bought the vehicle new from a dealership about a year ago. The miles are low (2,000) as the Jeep is my extra vehicle, and no modifications have been done. The first time it happened I was going about 55 mph, and the second time about 65 mph. After the second incident I reviewed the internet and saw the death wobble class action suit that does not cover post-2020 Wranglers. Both incidents occurred during the day on dry and well maintained roads. I made a dealership appointment after the second occurrence, but can’t get in until 1/9/2024. Loss of steering/control in traffic makes this a serious issue.
Dec 27, 2023
After hitting a bump driving normal highway speeds 45+ mph the car begins to shake and vibrate vigorously. It feels like you will lose control of the vehicle and the only way to stop these vibrations is to slow down to 30-40mph. Stopping like this on the freeway seems extremly unsafe when traffic is flowing. The dealership referred to this issue as the "Jeep Death Wobble" and it is apparently a known issue. The vehicle has been into the shop already twice and they have failed to correct the issue. The first time they replaced the stabilizer and the second time they were unable to replicate the issue to the traffic in the area and being not able to drive at highway speeds. Stellantis/FCA have requested I continue to to Drive this vehicle even with these issues saying this is not a safety issue.

I had gone out to do errands in the morning. My errands were in a nearby military base, approximately 4 miles from my home. When I returned, I parked in my driveway. When I went back to my vehicle to retrieve something, there was a large (approximately 2 foot) crack on my windshield. It was not there on my morning errand run and there was no other way the windshield would have cracked. This is a 2023 Jeep purchased on March 11, 2023. The vehicle currently only has 3,141 miles on it. I am concerned that there is a defect on the windshield glass, a much crucial part of a vehicle's safety feature. There are other Jeepers are reporting the same issue, but we have no place to turn to because the dealers shut us down!

The front defrost fails to blow any air on the windshield directly in front of the drivers seat, causing visibility issues in winter weather or whenever the windshield fogs up. The vehicle was brought to the dealer and the dealer indicated that the defrost is working as normal and that they just don’t blow air anywhere but in the center. Even when explaining that a windshield that ices up is a safety issue when driving, they indicated there is nothing that can be done.

I am filing this complaint regarding the serious safety hazard associated with the fire-risk recall on my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The official manufacturer recall letter states: “The high-voltage battery may become damaged under normal operation which could lead to a vehicle fire.” The recall instructions also direct me to: Fully discharge the high-voltage battery Not charge the vehicle Park the vehicle away from all structures because of the fire risk This indicates that the vehicle may spontaneously catch fire even when driven or stored as intended. I currently cannot safely store or use this vehicle at my residence. I am a 100% permanently and totally disabled Marine Corps veteran with PTSD, and this fire hazard and the required parking instructions significantly worsen my medical condition. There is no available remedy or repair at this time. I am requesting that NHTSA document this hazard, investigate Stellantis’ handling of this recall, and ensure owner protection given the severity of the fire risk and lack of resolution.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle ran over a rough patch on the highway and the front end started wobbling. The contact depressed the brake pedal to slow down, and the wobbling lessened. The contact stated that the vehicle had not been taken to a dealer after the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact had previously taken the vehicle into a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and installed a steering damper. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

My leased 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is included in Recall #68C (NHTSA #25V741000) for a battery fire risk when parked. Jeep and NHTSA have both advised owners not to charge or park the vehicle near structures due to a potential fire hazard. This makes the vehicle unsafe and unusable under normal lease conditions. I contacted my leasing company, Chrysler Capital, to request assistance because the vehicle cannot be safely used or parked. Their representatives repeatedly refused to escalate or document my case and stated that they “can’t do anything,” including refusing to provide a supervisor’s ID or written confirmation. I feel unsafe keeping or driving the vehicle, and I believe I should not be charged lease fees or penalties while it is under this recall. I am requesting that this issue be investigated and that Jeep and Chrysler Capital provide appropriate lease termination or safety accommodations.

Second time we have had an issue with the battery. Unable to plug it is because of an unresolved battery recall, this time for over a month. We purchased the vehicle specifically for the battery and now we have to buy fuel.

I recently rented this vehicle from Budget. I had the vehicle for 3 weeks before I found out it had a recall on it. I took a look into it and the recall was out there since September of 2024. Not only that it was a major issue. The vehicle could’ve caught fire. This is very alarming to me because I had the vehicle for so long. I rented the vehicle in April of 2025. This vehicle should not have been available to rent. I tried to attach the conversation I had with the locations manager on the day I returned it stating that the vehicle was on the recall list but I reached out to him no one from Budget contacted me. I have supporting documents but I’m not able to attach them. I have my rental contract that states the date and also the email between the manager at the location. I was driving approximately 30-35 mph when my vehicle engine no longer would accelerate. On the dashboard, the "D" to signify I was in drive was flashing in red, as opposed to being lit in white as usual. There was another warning light flashing in red, which was a lightning bolt with the characters ) ( around it. My car was dinging an alert sound. I was able to turn my flashers on and coast over to the side of the road. There was a significant safety concern considering I was in a city with cars driving around me, and had they not slowed, may have struck my vehicle because it decelerated so quickly. I attempted to push on the gas to accelerate, and nothing happened. After pulling over, I turned the vehicle off and back on again, and the problem was no longer there. Following this, my engine over-revs when I accelerate (3,500 + rpm to increase my speed by 10-15 mph with normal to light touch on the gas). I have noticed a jerkiness to acceleration and shifting of gears since this occurred also. Another issue is I will turn my car on and the engine will rev up to 2,000 + rpms without me touching the gas to accelerate. It will idle around 2,000 rpms until I drive or turn it off. I purchased this Jeep brand new. I see on Consumer Report there will be recalls in January 2023 on Jeep Wranglers 4xe manufactured a few months prior to the one I purchased with the same issue that I am having. I brought it in to the Jeep dealership where I purchased it. They ran diagnostics but said they were unable to find any issues. They took it for a test drive and were also unable to decipher anything wrong with it. This is a safety concern because if I am driving on the interstate or highway at appropriate speeds and my engine stops working like this again, I may be struck or cause an accident that could cause myself or others harm. The fact that 2021-2023 Jeep wrangler 4xe's manufactured prior to mine are going to be recalled in January with this same issue is concerning.

On October 27th, my Jeep started shaking violently as I was driving on the highway. I brought the Jeep to the dealership, they test drove it, and the mechanic did not experience the shaking so I was told “that’s just what Jeeps do”. I then researched Jeep shaking and found the Death Wobble is a common problem among Jeeps and there are several ways to fix it. I took my Jeep back to the dealership, they once again test drove it and could not replicate the wobble. They said I could leave it there and they could continue to drive it daily to find the problem, as they cannot fix it if the mechanic cannot experience the wobble. I don’t have another vehicle to drive and cannot leave my vehicle there indefinitely. They did an alignment, and sent me on my way. The jeep continues to violently wobble, today forcing me to pull off on the side of the highway. This is not safe, I feel terrified to drive it over 60 mph, and feel this is totally unacceptable to be told “this is what Jeeps do” and “this is just your vehicle”. I expect to feel safe in a $40,000 car I bought brand new last year.

Our jeep is a leased vehicle with approx 5,200 miles. While riding on the highway going approx 65 mph the vehicle began to death wobble causing the driver to nearly lose control of the car. We were on a 4 lane interstate that could have resulted in a severe accident had the driver actually lost control. With so few miles on the vehicle there is no reason other than a manufacturing defect that would explain how this vehicle could already be experiencing death wobble, a known issue with jeeps

Additionally, the steering wheel became uncontrollable. The contact stopped in the right-hand lane and turned on the hazard lights. The contact was able to continue driving, but the failure recurred while driving. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle started shuddering violently while driving 60 MPH. Upon researching the failure, the contact's husband became aware that the vehicle had experienced the Death Wobble. The contact stated that while traveling over a bridge and driving 50 MPH over a road seam, the failure recurred. The driver came to a complete stop. The contact stated that the failure recurred while her husband was driving the vehicle, causing the contact's husband to decelerate to 10 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced; however, the part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.

On the evening of Sept. 13th I was driving in-town appx. 25mph, pulling into a Walmart shopping center, when my 2023 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe (Purchased in July of 2023) unexpectedly, with NO WARNING shut down! It reduced speed immediately and went into a "coasting mode" almost causing the car behind me to rear-end me. I immediately put on my hazard lights and was attempting to turn the corner to pull it into the parking lot when my steering column seized and the vehicle shut off completely. There were warning lights on the instrument panel, however, I was unable to focus on what they were as I was in sheer panic mode trying not hit or be hit by the sudden shut down of my vehicle. The only warning I can recall was to put the car in park, which I was unable to do because I was in the middle of the road, with no area to pull over too. I have owned my vehicle for just over two months and at the time of the incident this evening the vehicle has 2, 727 miles, 1/2 tank of gas, the battery voltage was normal and it had a small amount of charge. I have read numerous articles stating, including one from NHTSA, that the recall does not affect my jeep as it was manufactured in Oct. 2022. This is incorrect information and if anyone had bothered to do any investigations would find that there are hundreds of complaints on Jeep forums for Jeep Wrangler 4xe's manufactured AFTER the 8/17/22 having this problem. The bigger issue is that there is NO RECALL for the issue because it is past the "end" date for the recall. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS!! I drive on the highway EVERY DAY to go to work and I can't imagine what would have happened if I had been in the left hand, passing lane when this occurred. SOMEONE COULD BE KILLED! I am bringing my vehicle to Lee Auto Mall Dealership/Service Center in Westbrook, ME first thing tomorrow morning to have the issue looked into / corrected and to inquire if this particular recall had been completed for this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that after reversing out of a parking space and shifting the vehicle into drive, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. As a result, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle, which then glanced off the rear of another parked vehicle, coming to a complete stop after colliding with a concrete pillar. The contact also stated that while the vehicle was accelerating, he did make attempts to maneuver and slow the vehicle but the steering wheel and brake pedal both failed to respond. Both the driver and passenger side air bags were deployed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who was unable to duplicate the failure and/or provide a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. Both the driver and his passenger were transported to an area hospital following the accident for treatment. The contact was treated for a broken left wrist and bruised ribs while the passenger was treated for 3 broken ribs and shoulder pain. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,025.

We are contacting you today because our 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe started to exhibit some concerning issues: On a fully charged battery, our Jeep started normally in hybrid mode. After 10-15 miles (down to 51% battery capacity), power switched to Internal Combustion Engine (Engine) After parking, upon restart and re-restart, various malfunctions appeared on dashboard: - Straight to engine power (engine noise), not on electric power (even when still in hybrid mode) - "Service charging system” alert - Engine light on - Plug light on - Battery light on - "Blind spot service unavailable, service required” - On right dial showing “Power" and “Charge", abnormal (?) temporary swing down towards “Charge" - AC not working (no warning, no alert) - Battery still showing 51% After parking, when attempting to charge: - Charging lights start off normally but stop (?) after 30 seconds, and - “Service charging system” flashes back on - Engine light on, Plug light on, etc - AC still not working -The Jeep is now not accelerating normally and seems to lack power -Breaking is unresponsive or lagging Please note, our vehicle was recalled under 95B and was serviced by Kendall Jeep on July 25, 2025 for 1895B182 Reprogram BPCM and Complete Drive Cycle Reoutine. We were told the software update was successful. We have made an appointment with Kendall Jeep to drop our Jeep off on December 8, 2025. SEATS
1 complaint
The defective component is the cable and handle assembly that controls the rear seat’s ability to fold down and lock securely in the upright position. The dealership confirmed the cable was bound but is refusing to repair it under the factory warranty. This is a safety concern because a faulty mechanism may prevent the seat from locking properly. If the seat cannot stay secured in the upright position, a passenger could be thrown forward during a hard stop or collision, and cargo from the rear could strike occupants. The defect compromises the seat’s ability to restrain passengers and maintain structural stability in an accident.

I have several issues. 1. An independent auto shop noticed all 4 of my shocks were leaking when they did an oils change and tire rotation recently. I have had my other oil changes and rotations at the dealership prior to this and they never mentioned it. I’ve tried calling my dealership svc dept. about it 4 times now with no call backs. 2. The new tires that came with my jeep from the factory only lasted about half their treadwear. I had to replace prematurely at 30,000 miles bc they were causing a “deathwobble” on my jeep at speeds of 60-70mph and they were also messing with my alignment which I paid the dealer to try to fix but they’ll couldn’t bc it turns out it was the tires the whole time but they’ll couldn’t bc couldn’t figure this out. The independent tire shop figured it out. 3. This is the most worrisome They just sent me another recall about the high voltage battery pack being dangerous and poasibly catching fire. It says not to charge it or park it near structures. This is the 2nd or 3rd recall of this sort and it’s not allowing me to use the electric features on my vehicle which I paid extra for when I bought it and I pay yearly for with insurance and taxes.. I need compensation or a vehicle exchange or a buyback so that I can use my vehicle as it is intended to be used. This is a clear violation of that. Please help me!

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? My 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe (VIN [XXX] ) has experienced repeated failures in the high-voltage hybrid electrical system, including “Service Hybrid System” warnings, failure to hold charge, and loss of EV function. It has also experienced a dangerous front steering damper failure at highway speed. All components remain available for inspection upon request, and the vehicle is still in my possession. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The hybrid system failures have caused repeated drivability issues, unpredictable power delivery, and warnings advising me not to operate or charge the vehicle due to potential battery-related safety risks. More critically, the steering damper failed abruptly at approximately 75 mph, causing severe front-end instability, vibration, and momentary difficulty maintaining directional control. This failure created an immediate risk of a loss-of-control crash on the highway. Being instructed not to charge the vehicle for months due to safety recalls also indicates a high-voltage battery safety risk that could endanger me, my passengers, and others. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Multiple dealerships have documented hybrid-system faults, charging restrictions, and recall-related battery concerns. The “Service Hybrid System” fault has been observed and documented by authorized Jeep/Chrysler service centers. The steering damper failure was documented during service shortly after the highway incident, and the dealer confirmed the part had failed unexpectedly despite passing inspection less than 1,000 miles earlier. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The defects have been repeatedly inspected and documented by Jeep/Stellantis dealerships. Stellantis has been notified directly INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I bought this Jeep brand new on 7/5/2025 at a dealership with 342 miles on it. The night of purchase, I noticed the fog lights did not work. The dealership had to replace all the wires to the fog lights. On the morning of 8/29/2025, while driving my vehicle between the speeds of 25 - 55 mph to work, the vehicle would shimmy for unknown reasons. Later that afternoon, while driving home from work on the interstate at approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began a severe shake (AKA death wobble). I was able to slow down and safely exit the interstate, but the vehicle did not stop the “death wobble” until it was at a near stop. I immediately called the dealership, and they are to inspect it first thing in the morning on 8/29/2025. This vehicle has not had any modifications or previous owners.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler has been inspected by two different dealerships 6-7 times, and I have submitted four cases through Jeep Wave, including a request for a buyback. While driving on the highway or on city streets, the vehicle experiences a speed reduction to 5-10 miles per hour, with a stiff steering wheel and hard brakes. Warning messages appear, including: "Engine Light," "Service Transmission. Continue in D. Do Not Shift or Turn Off Engine Until You Reach a Desired Location. You May Not Be Able to Shift Again Until Serviced," and "Brake is Not On," even when the vehicle is in park. The vehicle has malfunctioned twice on the highway while driving at 65-70 miles per hour and several times during heavy traffic at 5 PM. This raises significant safety concerns, especially on the highway, where a malfunction could pose a danger to others on the road. Although the issue cannot be replicated by the dealership, error codes appear when the vehicle is taken in for inspection. Ultimately, I am told that the issue is related to the "grounding." One dealership had the vehicle for 24 days. I picked it up on a Saturday at 10:30 AM, but by Sunday at 10 AM, the vehicle's speed had again decreased, the brakes were stiff, and the steering wheel was locked. The vehicle is available for inspection, and my buyback request has been denied three times. The vehicle is currently at the dealership once again, and I am genuinely concerned about the safety of my children and family members when I'm driving. My safety, as well as the safety of others on the road, is at risk.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Jeep 4xe: after coming to a complete stop or just slowing down and entering a lower gear, has a 1-2 second delay in the accelerator. Has caused tires to squeal when accelerator started to respond. Have almost caused accidents when becoming unresponsive as the vehicle will move forward but lose accelerator power. This happens infrequently and spontaneously which makes it impossible to plan for/ drive defensively against, cannot replicate or force it to happen. Vehicle can be inspected upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Vehicle will move forward after stopping, such as an intersection, and suddenly does not increase for 1-2 seconds making me a hazard to traffic. This happens maybe 1-3x a week and is impossible to replicate. Have been almost rear ended many times as no brake lights appear when this happens. Have almost been t-boned by oncoming traffic because of the delay. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Vehicle has had engine repaired and inspected by dealership. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No.

My vehicle is waiting for a fix for Recall 24V720000 / 95B – It is totally unacceptable that Jeep has no time frame for a solution for this horrific safety issue however my vehicle is having another even more dangerous issue that Jeep refuses to acknowledge and I know I am not the only one with this serious defect. My vehicle (2023 4Xe with 5000 miles) losses acceleration power… This has happened at least 10x over the past 5 months. The check engine light often flashes on and off or stays on steady during this. When engaging the gas pedal at various speeds (30-65MPH) the gas fails to respond or output any power causing the vehicle to slowdown dramatically. SIGNIFICANT risk of being crashed into. It takes flooring the gas pedal and anywhere from it 10-25 seconds for the power to kick back in / engage and accelerate. I have been trying to get this fixed since August. One Jeep dealership (had my vehicle for 36 days) replicated the issue but got ‘no code’ therefore they could not fix. Since the 24V720000 / 95B was announced 2 months ago no Jeep dealership (I have contacted over 18) will even attempt to investigate or fix this issue as they claim its related to the battery recall 24V720000 / 95B. I urge you to investigate this loss of power before something catastrophic occurs.

Complaint Regarding Recall 24V720000 – Jeep Wrangler 4xe (2023 Model) I am filing this complaint regarding the recall of my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] - under Recall Number 24V720000, issued due to a potential fire risk. This defect represents a severe safety hazard that jeopardizes the safety of my family, property, and others. Details of the Issue: The recall was issued due to a defect in the hybrid powertrain that could result in a fire, even when the vehicle is parked and turned off. Jeep/Stellantis has advised owners to: •Refrain from charging the vehicle. •Park it away from structures and other vehicles. This advisory alone highlights the gravity of the issue, rendering the vehicle unsafe to use as intended. Steps Taken to Remedy: •I have contacted my dealership and Stellantis to schedule a repair; however, no remedy has been made available to date. •It has become clear that Stellantis is unable to provide a timely or effective solution to fix this safety-critical defect. Lemon Law Qualification: California Lemon Law, under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, provides protections for substantial defects that impair the use, value, or safety of a vehicle. The following criteria are met: 1.Substantial Safety Defect: A fire risk qualifies as a substantial defect that threatens the safety of occupants and property. 2.Reasonable Repair Attempts: Despite the recall, Stellantis has not resolved the issue, and the vehicle remains unusable for its intended purpose. 3.Unresolved Issue: My vehicle has been effectively out of service due to safety concerns, and Stellantis has been unable to provide a timeline for resolution. Request for Buyback: Given the seriousness of this defect and the inability to remedy it, I am requesting that Stellantis initiate a buyback under California Lemon Law. A fire risk is not an issue to delay or hope for a fix—it demands immediate resolution. When operating the vehicle about ~50mph, and if you drive over a pothole, or bump in the road, the frontend of the vehicle wobble/vibrate uncontrollably. The only solution (I have found) is to lower the speed (which is obviously a problem on the freeway). I purchased the vehicle new from the dealer, have not made any modifications, and they (the dealer) is telling me the tires are the source of the "death wobble" problem. I have spoken to other Jeep owners that have had the same issue and it had nothing to do with the tires. The solution from the dealers perspective is "replace all four tires" (they claim its the Firestone brand of tires) at my expense.

I was driving my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door Willys on a 4 lane divided road approaching a stop light. The stoplight was red so I started slowing down approximately 200 feet from the intersection. I applied the brake pedal and the vehicle started to slow down. As I was approaching the intersection I could feel the vehicle accelerating and it was difficult to get it to stop. I was almost stopped approximately 3 - 5 feet from the vehicle in front of me, when the jeep lunged forward and struck the vehicle in front of me. The jeep continued to accelerate and was trying to push the vehicle in front of me. I shoved the gear shift into Park and that stopped the acceleration. I never took my foot off of the brake pedal during the entire incident. The force of the acceleration lifted the front of my vehicle and my bumper went on top of the other vehicle's bumper and dented the rear hatch of the other vehicle. There were no indicator lights before or after the incident. I drove the vehicle to my home approximately a mile from the accident without issues. I later had the vehicle towed to the CDJR dealer for inspection. After 3 weeks in the Service center, they did not find any issues and could not reproduce the problem and the vehicle was released back to me.

While driving on the freeway, the car showed a message saying “performance issue” and lost power. I couldn’t accelerate and the car stopped. I couldn’t power on or down the car. It looked like an alternator issue and it wasn’t giving enough power to the battery. AAA arrived hour and half later. Tried to jump but it didn’t do anything. Finally had to tow the car to the nearest dealership. The car is not even a year old and has less than 10k miles. Its a safety issue being stuck like that without any warning signs at middle of the freeway!

When vehicle is in drive gear, the steering system has a high pitch squeal. It gets louder when the steering wheel is turned. It makes the squealing noise when the tires are straight, when turned a little left or right, and all the way left and right. No warning lights are on or have ever turned on. The engine area also makes a loud tapping noise only when in gear. Loud enough to hear in the cab. I took it to the dealership, after they had it for over 8 hours, I was told all was normal, and even another new model makes the same noises. It must be the new electrical steering system sounds. To have an inspection done, I had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment, after I had asked if it was normal and the service manager heard and confirmed, a service mechanic and the lead mechanic. All came out at a different time said something sounds like it might be off. The steering issue puts me at risk and other drivers, mainly truck drivers because this vehicle is my daily driver, and I put about 40-80 miles daily, at least 3/4 of the time is driving on a major highway. Our highway has had a ton of roadwork recently, which puts workers at risk.

As I was driving home at around 45 mph, I noticed a flashing light on the dashboard. The light was instructing me to switch to 'P' to start. Additionally, there was a light indicating a plug-in, and the 'D' was flashing. I wasn't sure what was happening, but I knew something was wrong. Gradually, the acceleration slowed down, and I started to feel uneasy. I quickly pulled over to the side of the road. Luckily, the car behind me wasn't speeding, and they were able to slow down and give me space. I put the car in park, turned it off, and then turned it on again. After doing so, I waited for a few seconds, hoping that the problem would be resolved. To my relief, the flashing lights disappeared, and the car started normally. I checked the dashboard again, and everything seemed to be in order. I resumed driving but couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Now, driving on the highway in Orlando worries me.

I was driving down a side street when I received several warning lights for service shifter, airbags, seatbelts as well as the engine and all gauges cutting in and out. Following that my power steering went out and I could barely steer the vehicle. I had to call roadside assistance to tow the vehicle. The following fault codes wers pulled via obdii: U0001, U0151, U0155, U017E, U0418, U1442. Each code related to a malfunction with "CAN BUS C" or what the dealership referred to as a "star connector". After further research it is apparent that this part has continued to fail on many jeep wranglers dating back to 2018 and every report I have seen the person has stated the same issue of losing power steering. My jeep is a 2023 and now needs this part replaced. Why hasn't there been a recall on these vehicles for this faulty part? Why does chrysler continue to use these faulty parts on current vehicles when they know of their failure rate? This is a serious safety issue and should have been addressed years ago. Something must be done before someone gets hurt or killed.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle rooftop was made of fiber glass that dropped on the vehicle occupants while driving. The contact stated that the fiber glass could cause health issues if inhaled. The contact stated that the dealer had replaced the rooftop once, and the freedom panels twice; however, the failure persisted as the replacement parts were made of the same materials. The contact stated that the dealer informed him that the top was made from trust and bonded fiber glass. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 40-60 MPH, the steering wheel was shuddering back and forth, causing the vehicle to vibrate and to sway. The contact also stated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle pulled to the left side. The contact turned the steering to the right in order to keep the vehicle in the lane. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the steering wheel was realigned twice; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 400.

While driving on a major interstate, on a clear day, with no outstanding or extreme influences and traveling with traffic at a standard rate of speed (70 mph), a small roughly dime sized rock hit my windshield. This resulted in an immediate, large radial crack and approximately 9 inch lateral crack across my windshield. The rock was traveling slow enough that I could see it coming. Further research shows that this is a known issue to the manufacturer and owners, which is why the manufacturer offers an upgraded glass option for durability. This makes sense for off-roading or in a way inconsistent with manufacturers recommendation, but it is a safety issue if the glass cannot maintain during normal operation. I have concerns with every rock until it is replaced. It has been inspected by manufacturer/dealer, and I am paying to have it upgraded and replaced. However, I have concerns that it may result in injuries in event of a crash, or just in the course of normal operation. In a long history of driving, I’ve never experienced such extreme damage from a minor item, which calls into question what the risk would’ve been with a more severe incident.

We noticed on 6/24/2023 a small crack and few other minor cracks and a paint chip appeared out of nowhere on the fiber-glass/composite hard roof top at the driver side rear edge above the gas tank of my Jeep Wrangler 2023 that I bought from your dealership. My vehicle details are as follows: Make: Jeep Model Wrangler Sahara 4X4e Year: 2023 Color: White VIN #: [XXX] Purchase Date: 05-14-2023 Condition: Brand New I have consulted with AAA insurance and the “Classic Collision of Chatsworth” and Platinum Plus Warranty Plan and the insurance services and they all say that this particular crack and paint chip on the vehicle is not from any impact but mainly due to the manufacturing defect where the fiberglass is uneven (or air bubble in it) and defective, screws tightened too much and also clearly has tool marks and signs of excessive use of force that caused a big crack on the edge from inside and that is now propagating and spreading and showing paint chip and cracks on the outside of the removable rooftop/camper above the gas tank. This is the first time I opened the back trunk and saw this. Filed a manufacturer warranty claim at the dealership on 6/26/2023. Jeep denied the claim. I find this situation unacceptable as the fiberglass hard-top is cracking and falling apart and the crack is widening as we drive the vehicle. I need help as both the dealership and the manufacturer are not fixing the manufacturing defect and are using delaying tactics. On June 17 I was driving on the highway in Tupelo,MS with my sister and three children. I was going about 80 mph when the entire engine shut down spontaneously. The dash lights said plug into a power outlet. I was driving in hybrid mode with a half tank of gas. I briefly lost control of the car because it was such a powerful jolt when it shut down. I was able to pull over to shoulder of the highway, completely terrified and shifted the jeep into park. The warning lights were telling me to put in park and press the start button. I followed the instructions and the jeep engine started and the warning lights turned off. I have contacted Chrysler to file a complaint as well as the dealership. I am afraid the drive my vehicle on the highway for fear of having a major accident

Jeep Wrangler 4xE car engine died for reason unknown while traveling at a steady speed of ~40mph. Dashboard and car lights remained powered on, but the engine suddenly became unresponsive and the car began to coast. An error message appeared on the dashboard display but disappeared before it could be written down. About 5 seconds prior to the engine dying the cruise control, which had been engaged a few minutes earlier, but which was not believed to be active at the time, was toggled. It was a very dangerous situation, but no injuries resulted from this event. Car dealer could not replicate the problem. No error messages found stored on the car computer were found by the dealer. The problem has not occurred again, but the car has not been driven much since the event. Cause of the problem remains unknown.
