The contact owns a 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, she heard an abnormal sound coming from the rear windshield wiper. The contact became aware that the wiper arm was hitting a part of the spoiler that had started to detach. The contact stated that she pulled off the road and observed that the upper cover of the rear spoiler had detached and was hanging down over the rear windshield. The contact stated that the panel located in the center of the spoiler where the reflector was mounted was missing. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V623000 (Structure). The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. ON 11/14/2020 I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM CARISMA AUTO GROUP LOCATED IN TAMPA FL. ON 1/5/2021 WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY, THE WATER PUMP FAILED. ON 1/6/2021 IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT STOP LEAK CONCENTRATE WAS PUT IN THE RADIATOR.

THERE IS A WELL-KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE TIMING CHAINS ON 2010 LAND ROVER VEHICLES. OTHER VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED. MANY COMPLAINTS ARE IN EVIDENCE ON WEBSITES, CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ARE BEING ORGANIZED, AND MANY EXPERT ARTICLES WRITTEN. I BOUGHT A USED RANGE ROVER SPORT VIN NUMBER SALK2D49AA241247 FROM A SLEAZY SHOP. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE ON PRETENSE FOR THREE DAYS. FIRST DAY I GOT VEHICLE WITHIN 24 HOUR SEVERELY OVER HEATED, COOLANT COMING OUT , CAUSING THROTTLE AND THE RUINATION OF THE ENGINE. ANY OTHER LIKE SITUATION FOR 2010 RANGE ROVER REPORTED. THE VEHICLE IS A GONER. SOMEONE DROVE IT ABOUT ONE HOUR AND WITHOUT ANY LIGHTS GOING ON THE VEHICLE STARTED STEAMING BADLY. PULLED OVER NEVER RAN AGAIN. THE COST OF REPAIR IS MORE THEN THE VALUS OF THE VEHICLE. DID THE DEALER HAVE REASON TO KNOW? ANY LIKE REPORTED INCIDENTS FOR THAT YEAR.

I have tried making multiple appointments at the dealership in mobile alabama to get this recall taken care of after 2 attempts I took it to the Nashville dealership. The first attempt in mobile I called before driving over an hour away to the appointment and they didn't have the appointment on there schedule when I had scheduled over a month in advance and the second time I called and they did not having parts in stock even though I made an appointment. I took it to Nashville dropped it off for 5 days while visiting when I came back the recall for the fuel tank still had not been done nor was I notified as to why. They did another recall and it was supposed to be finished by 8am the day I picked it up I wasn't able to leave the dealership until around 3pm due to their negligence and miscommunication still without the recall I brought it in for completed. Now there is a fuel smell and I now have tried making an appointment again with the mobile alabama dealership and they want me to leave it there for days to be completed and suggested I rent a car because they cannot loan a vehicle when this recall is only supposed to take a day.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LAND ROVER GLEN COVE (70 CEDAR SWAMP RD, SUITE B, GLEN COVE, NY 11542, (855) 866-0331) WHERE THE BRAKE LINES WERE INSPECTED. THE DEALER FOUND CORROSION ALL AROUND THE REAR BRAKE HOSE AND STATED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AT RIGHT AROUND 59K MILES I HAD MY ENTIRE BREAKING SYSTEM UPGRADED. NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE CALIPERS, ROTORS, AND PADS. ALL RANGE ROVER PARTS, DONE AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. AT 63K MILES THE RIGHT FRONT BREAK STARTED TO HAVE A TERRIBLE SQUEAKING AND SQUEALING METAL ON METAL SOUND AT SPEEDS BELOW 30 MPH THAT WOULD IMMEDIATELY STOP IF I TAPPED THE BRAKES BUT AS SOON AS I WOULD LET OFF IT WOULD START AGAIN AS IF THE CALIPER WASN'T FULLY OPENING. I TOOK IT IN AND THE DEALER DID A WARRANTY REPLACEMENT WHERE THEY SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE EVERYTHING. I PICKED IT UP A WEEK LATER, THEY HAD TOLD ME THEY REPLACED THE PADS ROTORS AND CALIPERS. I DROVE IT NO MORE THAN 10 MILES BEFORE ALL OF THE BRAKES WERE MAKING 10X WORSE NOISE. AGAIN STOPPING AS SOON AS YOU TAPPED THE BREAKS AND STARTING AGAIN IF YOU RELEASED. I LOOKED AT THE BREAKS TO NOTICE THAT CALIPERS CLEARLY WERE NOT BRAND NEW AND THE WHEELS HAD BEEN COVERED IN BREAK DUST IN THE 7 MILES I HAD GONE FROM THE CAR WASH WERE I HAD CLEANED THEM COMPLETELY. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE NO ONE COULD KEEP STRAIGHT WHAT HAD/HADN'T BEEN DONE. I BROUGHT UP THAT THE CALIPERS CLEARLY VISIBLY WERE NOT REPLACED AND THE OTHER SERVICE MANAGER SAID "OH THEY PROBABLY JUST MEANT REPLACED THE SLIDES WHEN THEY SAID THAT" NOW THE CAR IS BACK IN FOR MORE WORK WITH NO ESTIMATE ON WHEN IT WILL BE DONE.

UNPLUGGING WIRING HARNESS UNDER GLOVE BOX WILL RESET AND ALLOW START BUT ISSUE RECURS VERY FREQUENTLY WHILE DRIVING.

The contact stated that he installed the part with help from an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the aftermarket parts product was faulty. The contact stated he took the vehicle back to the independent mechanic and had the Atlantic British lower suspension control arm LR029302 replaced. The contact stated he then experienced the failure for a second time but with the Atlantic British lower control arms LR029301K; Front Lower passenger’s side aftermarket part. Hello, i have 2010 Land Rover Range Rover sport. 4 weeks ago i smell gas and i saw error code about gas cap. I purchased 2 gas cap and replaced it but i keep smelling gas. I took the car to shop and mechanic confirmed gas leak. I call LandRover customer service and i talk to Debbie and Tiffany. I told them about upcoming gas leak recall and they told me they couldn't help me before official recall announcement. I took the car to Landrover dealer in Alexandria Virginia and i talk to Ash and he told me the same thing to wait until offical recall. I don't know why we wait until October 8, 2021 if gas leak is fire hazard. NHTSA i really appreciate for your help and thank you for your time. Have a blessed day.

THE COOLANT RESERVOIR HAS A KNOWN DEFECT WELL KNOWN BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT LAND ROVER. THE COOLANT RESERVOIR HAS A LEVEL INDICATOR BUILT INSIDE THE RESERVOIR WHICH GETS SATURATED WITH COOLANT AND DROPS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE RESERVOIR. THEN THE LOW COOLANT LIGHT INDICATOR COMES ON ON THE DASH GIVING YOU A FALSE READING EVEN THOUGH THE COOLANT IS NOT LOW. FOR THIS THE CAR OWNER WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WHICH COST OVER $200 IN PARTS PLUS LABOR. THE LEVEL INDICATOR COST IS PROBABLE UNDER $5 DOLLARS, BUT IT'S BUILT IN AND UNABLE TO REPLACE JUST THAT. I THINK THIS IS POORLY BUILT BY THE MANUFACTURER OR IS POORLY BUILT THIS WAY FOR CONSUMERS HAVING TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN PARTS AND LABOR.

I BOUGHT A 2010 SPORTS RANGE ROOVER FROM AUTOBAUN IN SAN DIEGO CALIF 92120. I DAY I TOOK POSSESSION OF IT SEVERELY OVER HEATED WITHOUT ANY SAFETY LIGHTS COMING ON. WE PULLED OVER THEN SLOWLY ADVANGED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE MILES AWAY. AT THE DEALERSHIP AND BEYOND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE ENGINE AND THE COOLANT SYSTEM HAD BLOWN AND THE COST OF REPAIR IS $35,000. THE SALE MAN HAS A FELONG CONVICTION FOR ROLL BACKS AND ALSO FOR DRUG LAUNDERING SO HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED A DEALERS LICENSE. THEN ENGINE IS BLOWNS TROTTLES BLOWN AND THERE IS SOME COOLANT SIBSATANCE NOTED IN THE COOLANT SYSTEM. NO WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON. DEALER AMAR SOLD ME A WARRANTY REPRESENTING IT WOULD FIX ANYTHING FOR TWO YEARS. THE WARRANTY SERVICE SAID HE SOLD ME A LIMITED WARRANTY AND THAT SINCE IT HAPPENED ON DAY ONE AND THERE WAS A MICKEY MOUSE REPAIR OF THE COOLANT SYSTEM ATTEMPTED THAT THE DEALER KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM. I PURCHASED THE 2010 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT HSE AUG. 2015, IT IS NOW MARCH 2016 AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED ILLUMINATING (ON A COUPLE OF DAYS THEN OFF A COUPLE OF DAYS) ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO...IN THE LAST MONTH I TOOK TO MECHANIC THAT SPECIFICALLY SPECIALIZE IN RR, I GOT SEVERAL DIAGNOSES WITHIN THE 4 TO 6 HOURS I WAS THERE...ONE DIAGNOSIS WAS POSSIBLE OXYGEN SENSOR THEN THE OTHER WAS POSSIBLE HOLES IN A CERTAIN TUBE WHICH WAS SEALED BUT DIGNOIS STILL WASN'T FOUND COMPLETELY 100 PERCENT. ..WELL A WEEK LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON...WELL SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING AND IT'S UNBELIEVABLE AS TO HOW MANY RR OWNERS HAVE THIS ISSUE...NOW I'M HIGHLY CONCERNED ABOUT WAS THERE A PRIOR RECALL... MY 2010 RANGE ROVER SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING STOPPED FUNCTIONING ON THE HIGHWAY. MY DASH BOARD WENT DARK AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. WE COMPLETELY LOSS CONTROL OF THE CAR WITH A TOTAL SYSTEMS FAILURE. TWO ACCIDENTS WERE NEARLY AVOIDED. MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO REEVES IMPORT MOTORCARS FOR INSPECTION, INVESTIGATION AND TESTING TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS THE CAUSE. REEVES HAD MY CAR FOR ABOUT 6 DAYS AND STATED THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY REASON FOR THE SUDDEN DASH BOARD AND ENGINE FAILURE. ADDITIONALLY, ON MANY OCCASIONS REEVES CONFIRMED THAT THEY CHECKED KEY ENGINE FLUID LEVELS INCLUDING OIL AND FOUND THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS SATISFACTORY. REEVES PROVIDED A LAND ROVER MULTI-POINT INSPECTION REPORT WHICH DIRECTLY LISTS THE OIL FLUID LEVEL AS "OK." FIVE DAYS AFTER REEVES GAVE US BACK OUR CAR IN JUNE, THE RANGE ROVER SHUT DOWN AGAIN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. WE TOWED IT TO ANOTHER LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP AND REPAIR SHOP TWO HOURS AWAY FROM AND THIS DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THAT MY RANGE ROVER ONLY HAD 3.5 QTS INSTEAD OF THE REQUIRED 8.1 QTS. THIS NEW LAND ROVER REPAIR SHOP ALSO CONFIRMED THAT THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF ANY OIL LEAKS. WE WERE TOLD THE LOW OIL LEVEL LOCKED THE ENGINE UP AND NOW MY CAR NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. MY SAFETY CONCERN IS WHETHER AN ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION, INCLUDING FAULTY OIL WARNING LIGHTS OR SENSORS, CAUSED MULTIPLE FACTORY TRAINED TECHNICIANS TO MISS THE FACT THAT THERE WAS A DANGEROUSLY LOW OIL LEVEL. HAS THIS TYPE OF ENGINE FAILURE PRESENTED IN ANY OTHER LAND ROVERS OR RANGE ROVERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ANYTIME THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO ANOTHER AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS AIR WITHIN THE BRAKING SYSTEM, CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED AND THE AIR WAS RELEASED FROM THE BRAKE LINES. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TAKEN BACK TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO BE EXAMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

MY SUNROOF ON MY 2005 LAND ROVER LR3 HAS SAME ISSUES AS BELOW THAT WAS ON A PREVIOUS RECALL ISSUE OF A 2008 LR2 LAND ROVER RECALL NUMBER #08V055000 THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT WITH A SUNROOF. FAILURE OF EITHER THE LEFT OR RIGHT HAND SIDE SUNROOF GUIDE RAIL CAN OCCUR WHEN THE SUNROOF IS OPERATED. EXCESSIVE STRESS CAN DEVELOP IN THE OVER-MOLDED BRACKET WHICH COULD LEAD TO CRACKING DURING NORMAL SUNROOF OPERATION. IF CRACKS OCCUR AND PROPAGATE IN A CERTAIN AREA OF THE GUIDE RAIL, FRAGMENTS OF THE PLASTIC OVER-MOLD MATERIAL MAY DETACH FROM THE GUIDE RAIL AND OBSTRUCT THE OPERATION OF THE SUNROOF. MY 2010 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT IS EQUIPPED WITH A KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START. WHILE THE KEY IS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, AS A SAFETY FEATURE, THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE LOCKED FROM THE OUTSIDE AT ALL TIMES. HOWEVER, THIS SAFETY FEATURE MALFUNCTIONED TODAY LEAVING MY 2 YEAR OLD SON LOCKED ON THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WITH MY CAR KEY ON THE INSIDE. THIS HAPPENED WHEN I PLACED MY SON INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND MY PURSE(WITH MY CAR KEY INSIDE) AND HAVE TO GO TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. UPON OPENING THE DOOR, IT WAS LOCKED. ALL DOORS WERE LOCKED WHILE MY KEY IS INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE DOORS CAN BE LOCKED FROM THE OUTSIDE WHILE THE KEY IS INSIDE. I TOOK MY 2002 LAND ROVER FREELANDER INTO LAND ROVER TO BE SERVICE BECAUSE MY TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THEY SAID IT WASN'T THE TRANSMISSION BUT IT WAS THE UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD, THE VACUUM HOSES, AND SENSOR THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. SO WE HAD THEM REPLACE THE MANIFOLD, HOSES AND SENSORS. THE SERVICE MANAGER KEEP NARRATING THAT IT WASN'T THE TRANSMISSION. WE PICKED UP THE CAR THE NEXT DAY AGAIN THE SERVICE MANAGER ASSIST IT WASN'T THE TRANSMISSION AND THE CAR IS RUNNING PERFECTLY. AS SOON AS I WENT ABOUT 2 MILES MY TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO LAND ROVER THE NEXT DAY IRRITATED. THE CAR SPENT 5 DAYS AT THE SHOP TRYING TO FIND OUT THE PROBLEM. WHICH WAS INDEED THE TRANSMISSION, THEY DIDN'T OFFER TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION BUT TO REFUND THE MONEY AND PUT THE OLD PARTS BACK IN. WHICH WE AGREE TO UNLESS THEY GUARANTEE IT WOULD BE IN THE SAME CONDITION. IT WAS MAKING MORE NOISE THEN BEFORE, 2 WEEKS LATER THE TIMING BELT BROKE. THIS CAR IS A LEMON.
