At 120000 miles the #3 cylinder on my 2.3 AWD 2015 Lincoln MKC blew the rings, causing the dealer to require an engine replacement for $11,000. I have spoken to several others with same engine defect. A class action lawsuit is in the works. Engine fires and unsafe driving conditions is what I was told to expect.

Out lf nowhwere with 68,000 miles on my vehicle the transmission basically failed about 12 miles from my house. A wrench came on and by the time I made it home I could barelt make it up the driveway. For this mileage this is ridiculous and I have read online about many other people reporting the same issues.

My car shakes and hesitates at times, especially when going uphill or when it is attempting to shift gears. This has put me and my passengers at risk as my car will not pick up, and other vehicles behind me have been forced to brake suddenly or swerve as my car has become an obstacle in front of them. I've been told that it's the transmission. I've also been told that this is a VERY common problem with 2015 Lincoln MKCs and that Lincoln knows about it but REFUSES to issue a recall. He knows of at least 4-5 Lincoln MKCs that have this problem--and he is a small repair shop. Car owners should not be forced to pay thousands of dollars for a new transmission when Lincoln knows that this is a problem specific to the 2015 Lincoln MKC. This happens all of the time and has been occurring for quite a while now.

Automatic shift lever bushing broke disconnecting the shifting cable from shift arm. Immediately disabled vehicle while in motion. There has already been a recall for this for Ford products of this era, why not Lincolns? Very dangerous if this had happened at high speed!

The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKC. The contact stated that while she was unlocking the door, she noticed that the black plastic covering over the keyless entry pad located on the door frame was cracked. The contact stated that the keyless entry pad location on the passenger side had also begun to crack. The contact stated that the crack lines had spread and had the appearance of a spider web on both keypads. The contact was concerned that water could leak into the keypad and short circuit the pad. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the keypad panels needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

ON 5/18/19, CAR WAS SITTING OUTSIDE ALL DAY. THE TEMPERATURE REACHED95 DEGREES THAT DAY. THAT NIGHT AS I WAS LEAVING, I DECIDED TO OPEN THE SUNROOF AND WHEN I HIT THE BUTTON, THE PANEL WOULD ONLY OPEN 1/2 INCH. I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS BLOCKING IT SO I CLOSED IT BACK. WHEN I DID THAT, THE INSIDE SUNROOF PANEL MATERIAL STARTED WRINKLING UP. I PROCEEDED TO OPEN AGAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I LEFT IT ALONE UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. I TRIED OPENING IT AGAIN AND THE NEXT TIME I HEARD SOMETHING SNAPPED. AS I WAS INVESTIGATING THE INSIDE PANEL, IT HAD RIPPED. IT LOOKED AS THOUGH THE SUN HAD MELTING THE PLASTIC AND AS IT COOLED, WHEN THE SUNROOF OPENED, IT RIPPED THE INSIDE PANEL COVER. NOW, THIS HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THERE NEED TO BE BETTER ANOTHER TYPE OF MATERIAL THAT'S NOT AFFECTED BY THE SUN AND ALSO A BETTER TINT TO PROTECT THE GLASS FROM GETTING TO HOT AND CAUSING TRAPPED HEAT TO MELT PLASTIC AND/OR ADHESIVE TO COME APART. THIS IS A HAZARD IF THE SUNROOF CAN'T OPEN IF FIRE, CRASH, OR SMOKE IS TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A INFANT AND TWO DOGS THAT RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE.

SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018 IT HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER TWICE AND I HAVE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES. THE BATTERY CONTINUES TO GO DEAD AFTER I PARK AND LOCK THE VEHICLE IN MY GARAGE. I HAVE WENT INTO THE GARAGE AND THE VEHICLE LIGHTS WOULD COME ON WITHOUT THE KEY FOB. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED AND IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. MY CAR IS AT THE DEALER AS I WRITE THIS COMPLAINT. LINCOLN STATED THAT: THEY CHECKED FOR LIGHTS COMING ON COULD NOT VERIFY AT THIS TIME CHECK OASIS AND NO SYMPTOM FOR CONCERN LET SIT OVER WEEKEND AND STILL NO LIGHT CONFIRMATION. NO PROBLEM FOUND AT THIS TIME3/5/2019. 3/17/2019 VEHICLE RIGHT BACK AT THE DEALER SAME PROBLEM.

Hello my car has a shifting cable busing fault. It’s Campaign/NHTSA# 18S20/18V471 This is a previous recall issue on ford. But somehow it’s not showing up under my vin number. But I’m experiencing this exact issue and it’s a safety problem

This complaint actually encompasses 3 of my Ford/Lincoln vehicles. I cared for the other 2 on my own. Every lug nut needs to be repaired before I can replace my questionable safe tires! This is a manufacturer defect! 3 vehicle needing every lug nut replaced is a joke!! The 'word' is that they are swollen!!! Absolutely nothing that I am responsible for. Please investigate. This is a scam and enormous injustice. I think I replace 1 lug nut in my prior 40 years of driving and was because it was broken!!!!

Rear camera operates irregularly. Sometimes camera works and sometimes it doesn’t. When shifting into R, we never know if rear camera will work or not. This is a very unsafe condition as it limits our ability to view images behind us when backing up. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Camera has not been inspected by a service center due to cost of repair or replacement.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
6 complaints
There's a fuel system gas delivery malfunction. Vehicle can be inspected per request. Car won't turn on right after having gas pumped. In one occasion while stopped at a red light the vehicle started making this strange loud noise on and off. I had to pull over at a parking lot nearby. The car also had a rolling motion feeling, the speed dial would be moving from 0-2 on its own while being stopped. My husband inspected the car and with a diagnostic device got error code P1450. There are existing recalls for same fuel gas problem for the same make and model and year as our vehicle but our VIN number isn't included in those recalls. My check engine light first showed up mid or late February 2024 and early this month is when my car started showing problems, once while on the road and the other instances after pumping gas.
Mar 20, 2024
Vehicle year is listed as recalled under NHTSA recall 15V005 but not included based on production date. After starting vehicle and navigating into moving traffic, vehicle exhibited identical symptoms (stopping unexpectedly while in motion, no force to gas pedal, slowing to a stop/locking up as if in acc mode). Check engine light illuminated, vehicle restarts after full shut down and drives. Upon next subsequent start up vehicle stops unexpectedly at random and requires full restart all while in motion. Evaluation by licensed technician reviewing vehicle code lists fuel pump failure identical to recall specifications. High risk as shut down is unexpected and occurs while in motion among other vehicles at speeds at or above 5mph

STEERING
5 complaints
The steering assist warning message came on and power steering failed twice in less than a week's time on my 2015 Lincoln MKC. It first happened while turning left and later in a parking lot at low speed shortly after I’d started the car. I could have had an accident had someone been behind me. I could not even steer the car into my driveway. Oddly, the problem would go away after turning the car off and restarting a short while later. Nonetheless, it's dangerous. I took it to a Lincoln dealer, and the problem did not resurface during a diagnostic test or test drive - and no malfunction codes came up. So, I was asked if I wanted to come back and get it or they keep it a few more days to see if the issue came back. I went to pick it up, and no sooner than I turned it on to leave the lot, it did it again. They kept the car, but it was end of day so there is no word yet. Other owners of MKCs, MKTs and MKZs are reporting the same problem, with no real fix. They also took this car to the dealer a year ago to address the current recall issue, but they have yet to fix it, saying they do not have the part and would call me when they do.

The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 122,000.

HOURS AFTER I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2015 LINCOLN MKC WITH APPROXIMATELY 19K MILES THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON (FRIDAY). I WAS TOLD THE CAR HAD A PERFECT CARFAX. I ALSO NOTICED THE AIR VENT TO THE BACK SEAT DIDN'T SEEM TO WORK WELL. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS THEY RE-OPENED AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR IN MONDAY). ON MONDAY MORNING, AS I TURNED AT APPROX 10MPH INTO A PARKING LOT, HALFWAY THROUGH THE TURN I COMPLETELY LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER CAUSING THE CAR TO RUN STRAIGHT INTO A CURB. WHEN I SAY LOSE STEERING, IT WAS UNLIKE ANYTHING I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. AS I TURNED THE WHEEL, THE CAR CEASED TO RESPOND. I GOT OUT TO WALK AROUND THE CAR AND THERE WAS NO ICE OR BLACK ICE, AND IT WAS NOT SLIPPERY TO ME. THOUGH IT FELT LIKE MINUTES IN MY HEAD, IT HAD TO HAVE BEEN A MATTER OF NO MORE THAN 1-3 SECONDS. I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND HAVE A PERFECT DRIVING RECORD. THANKFULLY MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT IN THE CAR AND I WAS TURNING OFF A SIDE ROAD AT A SLOW SPEED OR ELSE I WOULDN'T BE ALIVE TO WRITE THIS. THE DEALERSHIP TOWED THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. I WAS CLEARLY TERRIFIED AND SHAKEN UP OVER THE INCIDENT. THE USED CAR MANAGER STARTED OFF AS INCREDIBLY SYMPATHETIC AND OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS BEGAN SPEAKING DOWN TO ME, SAYING THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, THAT THEY RAN EVERY TEST AND THE CAR IS FINE REGARDLESS OF WHAT I EXPERIENCED. SO NOW, MY OPTION IS TO KEEP THE CAR OR TURN IT IN AND LOSE THOUSANDS. I ASKED FOR COPIES DIAGNOSTIC REPORTS AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NONE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY CAR FOR 2 WEEKS NOW. I LOOKED UP OTHER RECALLS AND ASKED IF MAYBE THE CAR STALLED AND I WAS JUST TOO SHAKEN UP TO REALIZE- NO RESPONSE I HAD SUCH WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE WITH MY FIRST LINCOLN, I DECIDED BUY A SECOND, BUT AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE AND POOR PROTOCOL, I CAN'T SAY THAT I WOULD PURCHASE ANOTHER. THAT IS, IF I EVEN SURVIVE THIS ONE.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Had one headlight issue for months that I knew about. Told BCM issue but the BCM for this vehicle has been discontinued. Was pulled over by the police only to be told the taillights are out. Took it back in and was told electrical issue that the dealer needed to address. Already knew it was the same issue, the BCM. Unfortunately, I have to get rid of this car, and it is still being sold. This car should be labeled a lemon as you will not pass an inspection once this happens and the part needed is no longer available, or repairable.

Our car is in excellent running and cosmetic condition. It has been well maintained and garaged and never in an accident. Recently my wife was driving and was getting angry gestures, honking, and yells from other cars. She discovered that her breaklights and blinkers were not functioning. It is an intermittent problem. It took the ford dealer multiple days to be able to recreate the problem. They state that the BCM needs to be replaced, but that it is a discontinued part that they cannot fix. It was discontinued in 2016. They also said they have at least one other car at their dealership with the same issue. I don't understand how they can just wash their hands of a safety issue for a car that is less than 7 years old.
Jul 21, 2022
Left headlight goes on and off. Dealer can’t find the problem. Has offered different very expensive options to see if it would work. One part that was told may be needed is the body control module which Lincoln and Ford has discontinued. Told they can try replacing the entire assembly but would not guarantee a fix. This repair is costly. Was then told I may need to purchase a new car instead of the dealer trying to resolve the problem. Car will not pass inspection if this is not fixed.
Jun 22, 2022
Drivers side headlight intermittently goes on and off. Signal light does not work when this happens. Have been told that headlight control module would need to be replaced, but Lincoln and Ford no longer has the part.

During the crash, the front of the vehicle was severely damaged but only the front driver air bag located under the dashboard console had partially deployed. No other airbags in the vehicle were deployed to provide protection to the driver. No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. During the crash, the vehicle was destroyed. The cause of the failures was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.

This is my 3rd Ford/Lincoln vehicles that I have needed to replace ALL lugnuts due to 'swollen' lugnuts! I assure you that I am not soaking them in water. Give me a break. Make them address this issue already. I put in a complaint to NHTA for my prior vehicle without resolution. 200-300 dollars to replace. Lincoln complaint desk acknowledges the common complaint and only say that it has been brought to upper managements attention. We all are aware that they will do nothing about it until their hand is pressed! Just a note..prior to these wholesale lugnut problems, I replaced 1 in my 45+ years of driving. How many have you replaced? Cmon already. Rich

On multiple occasions when filling the car with gas the entire vehicle begins to shake and shuts off. There is no light or warning that comes on prior to this happening. During the malfunction a light on the left side of the control panel says to push the break for full power. However despite pressing on break it takes several attempts ( 5-10 ) to restart the vehicle. It stutter starts several times before starting and being forced into Drive. This only happens when re fueling. I have added gas treatments as suggested with no relief. Last night the car powered down completely when I arrived home. The lights would not come on nor would the key unlock the doors and the power locks would not work to unlock the doors. Although this did not happen on the road while driving, I am afraid for the possibility that it can. I will take the vehicle to be inspected as I see a similar complaint here but no specific recall for this issue .

The contact owns a 2015 Lincoln MKC. The contact stated that an independent mechanic had replaced the battery and the alternator twice due to battery drainage failure; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle required to be jumpstarted regularly. Additionally, the contact stated that the passenger's side running light and side-view mirror light, and the tailgate release button were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V378000 (Engine) was performed; however, the failure persisted, and the windshield wiper motors failed after the recall repair. The contact stated that the electric parking brake engaged intermittently while driving. The contact stated that the failure caused him to pull to the side of the road, to shut off and to jump-start the vehicle to continue driving. The dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

A few months ago, the engine light came on. Multiple diagnostics confirmed a vapor leak. We were told if we didn’t fix it, it would affect nothing. Now, if we put gas in, the car struggles to start or won’t start. This happens all the time since April 2025. We looked at recalls and there were 2 with the fuel system that were apparently done. We feel that they may have been improperly repaired? The dealer service said this problem happens all the time with Lincolns. We’re afraid to put gas in the tank. We don’t know what will happen next? Car stopping at lights? Too much vapor coming out now? Repair is all over the place price wise wherever we check…but we don’t want to be stuck at a gas station or have someone light a cigarette near the car with gas vapor leaking out!

After driving the car for several hours, the car will all of a sudden stall after waiting a a stop light or idle. When pushing the accelerator taking off from a stop, the the car bucks and stalls. The code the Ford dealer read off the diagnostic tablet was P0087... I just got my car back from the Ford dealer without a repair, because they could not replicate the problem. The tech only drove it 22 miles, and I told the service manager that I expect it to stall again, which it did after 2 days of driving. The car has to be running for a while for this to occur. Stalling in an intersection is dangerous! Oxygen sensors have been changed 4 times, and each time black and sooted. MAS, MAF, fuel pressure sensors have been changed. Something is causing the O2 sensors to go bad. Fuel injection cleaning was suggested. One mechanic mentioned PCV valve could be an issue. I drive about 1200 miles per week city driving.

I got out of work and went to start my car. At first it did not want to start, and it acted like the alarm system had an issue. I locked my car, then unlocked it with the key fob, and when it started, it ran rough and was smoking out of the exhaust. I turned it off and quickly checked the fluids. I noticed the antifreeze was low, and since I always carry fluids in the car, I filled up the reservoir and then tried to restart my car. It did the same thing, not wanting to start until I locked and unlocked with the key fob. I drove home, but the check engine light was on the entire time. The following morning, I started my car and it was blowing white smoke out of the exhaust. I turned it off and contacted a local auto repair shop. It had to be towed to the shop so as to not cause damage. The auto shop said it was the head gaskets and since there was a known problem with the coolant leaking, I would have to get a whole new (used) engine. The total would be over $8000. I called another repair shop to see if they would be willing to replace the head gaskets, and after they agreed, I had it towed to their shop. After diagnostics, (no negligence on my part) this shop also refused to just replace the gasket citing an ongoing class action lawsuit due to a known head failure, and the repair with a new engine would be over $9000. I had purchased an extended warranty (power train) when I purchased this vehicle, and it included seals and gaskets...so I thought I was covered for this problem. The warranty company refused to cover it since it was a head problem. I still have 2 years of payments left on this vehicle.

This vehicle with less than 100,000 miles, that is less than 8 years old has an engine failure. This is due to a design defect which is known to Lincoln and Ford Motor Company as they have a technical service bulletin in regards to the coolant intrusion and engine failure. Lincoln is doing nothing to help fix the car with a faulty engine. This car will sputter when accelerating.

BATTERY: THE BATTERY MONITOR SYSTEM SEEMS TO BE DAMAGED. IT KEEPS SHUTTING DOWN MY SYSTEMS SAYING TO PRESERVE BATTERY. AND WHEN AND IF MY SENSORS GO OFF, THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT SOUND AS IF IT'S NOT RECEIVING ENOUGH POWER TO NOTIFY ME OF POTENTIAL DANGER. ALSO, WHEN I'M LISTENING TO MY RADIO WITH THE ENGINE OFF, THE CAR SHUTS DOWN EVERYTHING GIVING A DISPLAY INDICATION THAT THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE BATTERY AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. ALL SYSTEMS SEEM TO BE WEAKENED, AND LACKING FULL POWER AND FULLY ASSISTING IN WHICH IT WAS INTENDED AND DESIGNED. BACK-UP CAMERA: CAMERA CONSISTENTLY GOES BLACK OR BLANK WHEN I'M IN REVERSE. SOMETIMES IT DISPLAYS MOMENTARILY AND THEN BLACKS OUT UPON MY REVERSING. THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL INCIDENTS WHERE I HAVE COME CLOSE TO HITTING SOMEONE BACKING OUT/UP/IN, AS THE REAR VIEW CAMERA WITH BLANK OUT WHILE DOING SO. ALSO AT TIMES THERE IS NO TOO CLOSE WARNING FROM THE CAMERA OR SENSORS AROUND. (NOTE) PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE ABOVE-MENTIONED DOES NOT IN ANY WAY CONSTITUTE, OR IS LIMITED TO THE COMPLETE EXPERIENCE AND OR EXPOSURE TO THE SAFTY ONGOING ISSUES THAT EXSIST. THANK YOU, FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE.

The back up camera does not work. I don't know the exact date when it began not working, but it's been many months. This may be due to a faulty electrical or computer system. Occasionally, an error message will appear on screen which states the obvious -- that the camera is not working -- and to contact the dealer. I received a recall notice in the mail on May 9, 2025, but the repair parts are still not available (August 22, 2025), which is 15 weeks after I received the recall notice. This is an excessive amount of time to wait. Since so much time has passed, it seems quite possible that the manufacturer does not intend to ever repair this defect as it is an older vehicle. This is worthy of investigation. At the very least, a status update should be given to owners.

CONTINENTAL TIRES NUMBER 235/50 R18-97H M-S RADIAL TUBELESS FRONT TIRES ARE LOSING CHUNKS OF TIRE AND PEELING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TIRE. THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL TIRES FOR MY 2015 LINCLON MKC. MY CAR IS SERVICED EVERY 3-4 MONTHS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE HAD TIRES ROTATED A FEW MONTHS AGO. TOTAL MILEAGE ON VEHICLE TO DATE IS: 27,580.3 . THE TREAD IS STILL DEEP, BUT THE RUBBER IS CRACKED THROUGHOUT, PEELING, AND LOSING CHUNKS / COMING OFF. THIS WAS IDENTIFIED WHEN I HAD LOW TIRE PRESSURE FROM ROLLING OVER A SCREW. OTHERWISE, THE DAMAGE TO BOTH FRONT TIRES WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FOUND UNTIL FURTHER TIRE DAMAGE, BLOWN TIRE, AND/OR INJURY WOULD HAVE OCCURRED.

The fuel pump/sensor. My vehicle died (steering column locked as well) while in motion on a busy highway. I took it to the Ford dealership and they replaced the sensor. After I picked it up from the dealership, my car died again on the same highway only this time I was in the middle of turning into oncoming traffic. I could not start my vehicle for several minutes. On both occasions, there were no signs or indications of pimp failure. The check engine light came in after the car stalled and. died. This time the dealership installed the whole control unit, sender and pump ASY and gasket. I have copies of invoices and parts.

I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE BUTTON STYLE GEARS. TWICE NOW, MY THUMB ACCIDENTALLY DEPRESSED THE N BUTTON AND THE ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO COAST BOTH TIMES AND I HAD TO THINK FAST TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND NO ONE WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO HIT ME. THE REASON FOR THIS, IS THAT WHEN USING THE SCREEN ON THE DASHBOARD, IT'S NORMAL TO USE YOUR THUMB TO BALANCE YOUR HAND, WHILE YOUR INDEX FINGER DEPRESSES OPTIONS ON THE SCREEN. THE THUMB NATURALLY GOES TO WHERE THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTONS ARE. I VISITED THE DEALERSHIP TWICE ON THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND IT WAS THE WAY THE CAR WAS DESIGNED. IT IS SOMETHING I HAD HAVE TO GET USED TO, THEY SAID. THEY ALSO SAID A FEW PEOPLE COMPLAINED TO THEM ABOUT THIS. THEY SAID THAT CARS ARE DESIGNED TO TURN OFF WHILE IN DRIVE FOR SAFETY REASONS. IF THIS IS TRUE, THEN WHY WOULD LINCOLN PUT THE "ENGINE START/STOP " BUTTON SO CLOSE TO WHERE IT CAN BE ACCIDENTALLY DEPRESSED. I QUESTIONED THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE ENGINE START/STOP? BUTTON WAS DEPRESSED AND MY WORST FEARS WERE CONFIRMED. KEY SAFETY FEATURES, SUCH AS AIR BAGS, AMONGST OTHER FEATURES ARE TURNED OFF, WHEN THE VEHICLES ENGINE IS OFF. SO IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, NOT ONLY WOULD I LIKELY GET HIT FROM BEHIND, BUT I WOULD BE COMPLETELY VULNERABLE WITHOUT AIR BAGS. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED ME TO CALL LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH I DID ON 8/11/14. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT AND ALSO TOLD THEM I WOULD FOLLOW UP WITH A LETTER. NO ONE TO DATE HAS CONTACTED ME FROM LINCOLN.

The rearview camera on my 2015 Lincoln MKC stopped working. The screen is either blank or distorted, which makes it unsafe to back up since I cannot see behind the vehicle. I have not yet gone to the dealer about this issue. I see there is an active recall (25V270000) for this problem, but my VIN shows no coverage.

SERVICE BRAKES
1 complaint
On February 23,2025 I parked the car on our son’s driveway which has an incline at about 5:00pm. Over the next 5 hours the car moved backwards down the driveway to almost the end of the driveway where it stopped thankfully & didn’t go into the street where it could have been hit or hit someone walking past. I have the movement recorded on a ring video. I took it to our local Ford dealer to have it checked out & they couldn’t find anything wrong with the brakes & I showed them the video. They were stumped. I started to use the emergency brake since then & have not had a problem since. But I am uneasy about this situation since I have never had a problem with any other vehicle I’ve owned.

I'VE BROUGHT MY CAR BACK NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, A PROBLEM THAT BEGAN WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OR PURCHASE. I'VE ASKED FOR DOCUMENTATION OFF ALL THE 'REPAIRS' TO NO AVAIL. SOME OF THE WAYS THE PROBLEM PRESENTS ITS SELF INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING- SOON AFTER STARTING THE CAR & BEGINNING THE DRIVE IT COMPLETELY STALLS AND SHUTS OFF, IT COULD TAKE NUMEROUS TRIES BEFORE RESTART. OR OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING IT SUDDENLY SLOWS DOWN AND SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR, THIS HAPPENED AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART! I HAD TO PUSH IT TO THE ADJACENT GAS STATION AND WAIT ALMOST 2 HOURS FOR DEALERS REPAIR TO SEND A TOW TRUCK. THE OTHER WAY THIS ISSUE MANIFESTS ITSELF IS AFTER FILLING THE TANK WITH GAS. IT STARTS, SPUTTERS AND SHUTS OFF! THE LAST TIME I BROUGHT IT IN THEY REFUSED A RENTAL, TOOK ABOUT 6 WEEKS TO REPAIR. I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A RENTAL. THEY FINALLY REIMBURSED ME BUT IT TOOK WEEKS AFTER THE 6 WEEKS OF SHELLING OUT WELL OVER $1,000

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE COME VERY CLOSE TO GETTING INTO SERIOUS ACCIDENTS WITH MY 2015 LINCOLN MKC. THE VEHICLE HAS A MAJOR BLIND SPOT FROM FROM THE FRAME COWEL THAT LEADS DOWN FROM THE ROOF COVERING THE OUTER EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD. INSIDE THE VEHICLE IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE ONCOMING TRAFFIC IF YOU'RE LOOKING LEFT. IF A MOTOR CYCLE, MOTOR SCOOTER OR BICYCLIST IS APPROACHING FROM YOUR RIGHT SIDE, YOU MAY NOT SEE HIM OR HER. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, INTENDING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN. FOR SOME REASON I TOOK AN EXTRA SECOND TO STOP. I DID NOT SEE THE MOTOR SCOOTER AND HE WOULD HAVE T-BONED MY CAR IF I HAD JUST PULLED OUT ASSUMING THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC COMING.

I LIVE IN THE MIDWEST AND IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE AND I WAS DRIVING HOME WITH MY BRAND NEW STATE OF THE ART LINCOLN. WHEN I WAS HEADING HOME MY CAR INDICATED LOW BATTERY, WHICH I ASSUMED WOULD CHARGE AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE. NEXT THING I KNOW, EVERYTHING WAS TURNING OFF (ALL INTERNAL DISPLAYS, HEADLIGHTS, WIPERS, STEERING) DUE TO CONSERVING BATTERY WHILE I WAS ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE IN A BLIZZARD. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE, ON THE INTERSTATE IN A BLIZZARD AT 60 MPH. I FINALLY GOT OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND IT WENT INTO PARK. THE DEALER CALLED AND STATED IT WAS A BAD ALTERNATOR. GREAT, MY ISSUE IS THE BATTERY VOLTAGE IS SO LOW THAT THE COMBINATION WITH TEMP AND ALTERNATOR EVERYTHING SHUT OFF IN SUCH A QUICK MODE IT GAVE ME NO TIME TO SAFELY EXIT OFF THE ROAD. THE CAR IS NOT DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THIS SITUATION AND I HAVE THE COLD CLIMATE PACKAGE, THIS IS WHY WE ARE PAYING A HIGH PRICE FOR ENGINEERS TO DO THEIR JOB AND UNDERSTAND HOW THE SYSTEMS ACT TOGETHER. HOW IS THE GOVERNMENT AND MANUFACTURE ALLOWING THIS SITUATION TO HAPPEN. MY LIFE AND BEING A MOTHER TO THREE KIDS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A SMALL COST REDUCTION.
